oooo how about the krawk next? aka the forever wooden spoon award holder

Krawks for many years were known as a status symbol pet alongside Draiks, due to being a restricted pet—instead of just being able to create one, you either had to shell out of a lot of money to get a morphing potion, or shell out a lot of money to obtain a Krawk petpet. Thankfully, re-releases in recent years have helped make Krawks fairly obtainable.

Which is good, as I always thought having a petpet that becomes a Neopet is a really unique and fun idea, but making it near-impossible to get the pet in question...is not.

Visually, Krawks are basically alligators/crocodiles, but features like them being bipedal and having back spikes (sometimes portrayed more like fur, it's not very consistent) along with their markings help give them some flavor. I like the very reptile-like head shape in particular with the jagged mouth as well as the spots.

The base colors are pretty good, though not terribly consistent—the blue has cyan accents, the green has darker accents, the yellow has lighter accents, and the red is super low-contrast. Still, not a huge deal, as they look good regardless.

Not much changed with Krawks post-customization, other than them gaining larger pupils and losing their foot claws/sass. The customized version looks better overall in terms of linework and shading, and the anatomy has been improved in areas like the legs and arms.

Favorite Colours:

Camouflage: Taking the crocodile traits to their natural conclusion, the camouflage Krawk looks great. I love the natural muted palette contrasted with the bright yellow and green eye, and how the color subtly shifts from green to brown. The spots are nice and don't feel too uniform. It's also nice how this color improves the basic shading with more highlights and more shadows, making for a fantastic colour overall.

Maraquan: Krawks are at least semi-aquatic as is, but the Maraquan Krawk takes it to its logical conclusion by dropping the legs in favor of a tail and some fins. I like how the back spines have become sea dragon-esq camouflage, how the eye lost its iris and uses a light yellow against the darker teal base for contrast, and how the markings look very natural (kind of like the camo Krawk above).

The customized version is alright, but the UC/styled is definitely better here. Not only does it have a really nice subtle scale texture to it, but the subtle changes to the head anatomy really make it. The back spines also look less cluttered, the pose is more dynamic, and the hands are proper fins.

Royal: While nothing usual for the color, the royal Krawks look pretty darn nice. Both versions are equal in design, having similar outfits, staffs, etc., and both fit the Krawk's design nicely. I think I prefer the Royalgirl over all, but the Royalboy has the better palette with the complimentary yellows.

The UC/styled versions are once again the best ones, as a lot got lost in translation, like how the converted Royalgirl lacks eyeliner and hair for no reason, or how the staffs are way too big, or how the Royalboy's beard is distressingly detailed. The poses and slightly unique anatomy are also great and give them some extra personality.

BONUS: Another unfortunate victim of conversion, the UC/styled Tyrannian Krawk is (most likely) a dimetrodon, complete with a semi-quadrupedal pose and huge back fine. The converted version not only screws up details like the claws, but also is forced to be fully bipedal and lose things like the eyebrow ridges and shorter head spikes. A shame. The original still looks great though. Only complaint with both is that the colors are messy; too many shades of orange and brown tossed together with too little consistency, and barely visible striping that should've been like two times lighter.

-Ranking Neopets by Design and Colors-

My sister and I are in a nostalgia kick over neopets and I've decided to do some design geeking and talk about neopet creature design.

Like I am with Pokemon I prefer my Neopets looking definitevely neo-ish, so less like just any old animal you can find in the real world. Keep that in mind as I separate these by both objective opionion ("that's a well designed neopet") vs my personal preferences ("zomg that's MY FAVORITE neopet"). Know that I'm trying to take into account the:

overall design with the basic paintbrush colors

paintbrush creativity

Unconverted vs converted art and how the likability changes therein because of the character that crosses over from the art (I personally dgaf about unconverted art. I think the stock-look for the pets is fine as it is it just sucks to loose what was such cute art for the paintbrushes)

customability

a final note: I've never played neopets for myself. I don't have time to take care of a virtual pet, let alone 4 or more now that I'm an adult. While I'd like to have a neofamily and work hard for the money for them I kind of would really prefer a job first.

All of these preferences come from watching my sister play the game and my own fondness for the pets as toys and as comics over the years.

Properly monsterish, though I kind of hate it's feet ngl. Monkeycatrodent thing is alright in my book. I would never have guessed they like to swim or that their horns are bendable. Overall servicably neopet-ish.

You're gonna learn quickly that my favorite neopets are ones that are never unique to one kind of animal but also not just a hybrid. Bori is sufficently armadillo, pangolin and fox like enough all at once. Beautiful wonderbread. Can never get enough of em.

For all I love rabbits, Cybunny's kind of just a rabbit when you get right down to it. An absolutely ADORABLE rabbit, but still. Also it's basic color options are limiting like Usul. Not worth the limited edition in my eyes, but definitely a good solid neopet.

kEYUUUte dragon...but, like Cybunny, also just a dragon. Again, drawn very cute. Feels kind of out of place compared to the other Neopets dragons too based on gargoyles, I guess.

It's hard to mess up an elephant and it's "less is more" here. Personally I think it's new sprite is a VAST improvement compared to it's old one. I hated it's creepy grin growing up. Elephante is a cutesy elephant with a bunny tail and teeny tiny wings that's sitting down in the old art. How can you POSSIBLY ruin that gorgeous art with a nasty toothy grin?

Despite it kind of just being a griffon, Eyrie looks pretty sweet. Good use of bird and cat elements rather than just a mish-mash. A regal neopet, like every kid wants when they're smol.

Not a huge fan of evil/notevil species variants. Apparently it's more of a fish than it is a dolphin which knocks it down a few points as I always wanted it and Jetsam to be dolphins.

Funny enough I actually dislike llamas, but Gnorbu is best boi. These guys don't have a threatening bone in their bodies. I just think they're neat. It works as far being both obviously based on a llama/alpaca but still it's own creature. It also looks really good in the new art, better than it did before.

I'm very split on Ogrin. For some reason or another I find Ogrin kind of ugly and overdesigned. Like, it looks like the protagonist to a 3d animated not-Dreamworks film that takes place on another planet who's voiced by Frankie Muniz. And yet I admire it in terms of being a unique creature. Feels like a Dr. Seuss creation because of it's paw feet, or like the camelopard of old beastiaries. As with all personal unfavorites, I like moreso it's paintbrush colors than I do the species overall.

The critical side of my brain is hellbent on pointing out how Peophin is JUST a hypocampus...but the mythology horsegirl in me is just gushing over there being a hypocampus at all. Genuinely I think it's really regal and cute and pretty. Would love one as a plushie. Also I think it's newer art is superior to it's old art.

Also great alt. for My Little Pony lovers who want their ponies looking like ponies again and don't need a cutiemark to enjoy a good fantasy horse.

I have a thing against usuls. Always found them utterly unappealing personally wise and overrated by TNT. They're good 'not exactly squirrel'-creatures but they're hampered by it's basic coloring problems. Also, it always struck me as a "mean girl" neopet even though I guess canonically that's what Uni is. Bleh.

I don't know what it is. I think it's the pose, but objectively I think Vandagyre is kind of lazy even though other neopets work well with the "this animal but with these other animal parts added on". I feel like the paintbrushes though really go hard or go home for this pandabearowl, so I like that.

So I’ve been reintroduced to neopets for the past few weeks and have quite the collection of stuff, that being said I absolutely have no idea what to do with all this shiny obsidian like do I just keep collecting it, can I throw it at dark lord Sloth or something??!? I’ve already got ten of them and I do know what to do with it?

So I started the game with my own blue Aisha who is lovingly named Luna (not her full name) then I decided to go to the adoption center and found a really old grundo named Sheila (not her full name) who was starved to death, luckily I had plenty of food and kept feeding her until she was bloated then proceeded to play with her for an hour or so. I promised myself that I would make sure Sheila would never starve again, she’s my baby now. She has a petpet Xepru named Lulu who takes good care of her.

Luna is pretty smart after I read her so many books, she’s read 22 regular books and 12 booktastic books now she’s on master genius level, I’m so proud of her. We’re currently training her level so that she can also do battle at the battledome, she’s currently level 4 from training school, but I’m thinking of doing some pirate school leveling too for fun. She has a Petpet Spyder named Cleo who I send out for adventure in Grave Danger all the time, she seems like she has fun with it.

I also created a green Ogrin named Onigiri ( not his full name) he’s my fashionista I like to try to dress him up in different clothing. He has an Altachuck named Alta, I know very original right XD he’s a cuddly little guy perfect for my Onigiri.

I love this game so much, I always go to thedailyneopet.com/dailies so that I can instantly do everything that I need to do each day during my work time. But once I’m home I play some games, groom my pets, and go fishing (I’m level 5 just recently). There’s always something to explore and I’m having a heck of a time.

a mutant who was ostracized for most of his life for his appearance, he became a bit of a recluse. he loves to study and look at the night sky, because he sees a part of himself reflected in it. he also runs a petpet rescue clinic!

Afuni:

a petty thief who was tasked with retrieving a rare cursed artifact, but warned never to look at it. curiosity got the better of her, and she was cursed to wear a mask that can never be removed. big chaotic gremlin energies.

Somnoros:

he receives visions of the past, present and future when asleep, but he can't control when they appear to him. so he is constantly falling asleep at unpredictable times. he carries a book with him at all times that he uses to record the things shown to him when he's sleeping.

Muimie:

quit her day job to pursue art as a fulltime career. she's struggling to make ends meet, but is overall much happier. she recently became enamored with depicting the cosmos in her work.

i'm kinda revamping his story but he's essentially a sellsword seeking a drastic change in lifestyle after a supernatural experience. he used to be a former clergyman with religious trauma but i changed it, partially bc i didnt like it, partially bc i was too lazy to write an entire religion into my neopets lore LOL

found orphaned and raised in altador. i dont have a lot written for them besides the fact that they've been fascinated by faeries for their entire life, since they Are one.

Cou. You are so, so, so, evil for this one. Do you know how many Petpets there are!? And how well designed they all are!? So many weird little freaks!? I am doing this as base color only, because if I went with their painted versions I would literally die and explode forever. Adding pictures for this one because they're tiny enough to :D Again, a bit of a basic bitch list because I am blinded with nostalgia by Neopets and even if I think a design is much better than the ones I pick...I can't help it, okay.

Faellie. This one is very obvious to anyone who has known me as long as you have, lol, I mean I literally stole Faellie and made it into my fursona. This is peak Neopets to me

2. Meowclops. This one is entirely nostalgia based because it's just a cat with one eye but when I think about Neopets I always think about Meowclops...one day I will have one

3. Ukali. It's just a cute, sad little baby dragon and I love it so, so, so much. The pose is peak, the little sad frills, absolutely adorable.

What’s a Neopets

oh my god you are making a dangerous question since i'm kinda hyperfocused hehe

neopets it's a game from 1999, it's a game for kids that basically envolves around having neopets, that are pets from species created for the games. they don't act like real life pets tho, and it's not that symple. they can speak, they can work, they can read books, they can fight, they can fish. they can be randomly mean (i kinda love that)... they are kinda anthropomorphic. they also can have petpets, that can have petpetpets.

i started to play neopets when i was around 9 years old and i was REALLY addicted. my best friend playet it too, and when we arrive from school we would call each other and play neopets aaaaall day.

the best thing about neopets its that is an ancient game in terms of internet, that functions basically through html and the pages didnt get an update for 15 years and it still works and the site has its own lore. you live in a world called Neopia. there's a fairy world that someone tried to destroy and now it has its ruins on the ground (it was in a cloud). neopia has it own economy. theres inflaction in said economy. thats a fairy that gives free food to the poor users. if you dont feed your pets they begin to starve to death (they dont actually die, just get miserable sad and you dont want that).

theres a giant omelete.

theres a city made of jelly.

theres villain neopians. theres rivalry between fairies. theres a FAIRY HUNTER.

MASSIVE work in progress on this customization; this is just a Dress to Impress screenshot atm lol, but… I’m trying to decide a potential petpet for SleepingBeast and I’ve narrowed it down to 3 I’m really interested in. Not worried about prices because saving up for customizations is one of my favorite things to do on Neopets lol. Everything here could potentially change, even the petpets, but… curious if any of y’all have a preference between the 3?

Current logic behind the choices—

Unpainted Clompkin: I love how classically Halloween these guys are. I love that they’re just weird little Jack o lanterns, especially because the pastel Aisha kinda looking like a pumpkin or gourd is what made me like them in the first place. The green/orange combo is like a more saturated version of SleepingBeast’s colors. I also just like the idea of having the most Halloweeny looking pet for her lol.

Halloween Harris: I just recently learned this is what the Halloween Harris looks like and I’m a bit obsessed tbh 😭 I love that he’s a little Frankenstein, it’s adorable and the green fits SleepingBeast’s color + her name kinda fits a Frankenstein motif right??

Unpainted Meowclops: Tbh I’ve always liked Meowclops but never had the drive to save for one. They’re cute and iconic and I think one would look cute as a sort of witchy familiar. They match being feline and the green/yellow of the eye sorta fits SleepingBeast to me.

Ok here’s a few thoughts on the new neopets match 3. This isn’t comprehensive but just some of my initial thoughts while trying out the game.

1. I hate that this is the player character. I hate it hate it hate it. Ugly ass choppy bangs. You have neopet companions through the game that you can dress up etc but I really wish the player was either a neopet or there was some level of customizability. At the very least let me pick which element of faerie I want to be…. I wish it was the other way around where your companion is a faerie and you play as a neopet

2. I love Varia love her design. Feels very much like a neo NPC. Early in-game you get a team faerieland outfit for her but I immediately switched it back to the default since it has much more personality. Later in the game you unlock more neopets you can customize and they all have different skills that you can utilize in the match3 portion but I haven’t gotten that far yet.

3. (I hope this picture loads right bc tumblr isn’t showing it for me) this is supposed to be a few of the tiles/power ups. In the actual puzzle game part it’s very lacking in anything that makes it feel like neopets. The green tiles are supposed to be, what, a hassee? Why green? Why not make it the orange or purple tile? Plus, the power ups could have easily been based off of battledome items like cmon there’s so many assets there that could be redrawn to fit this style that are actually FROM THE SITE. Just the actual puzzle doesn’t feel like I’m playing a neopets game at all, even with varias semi-janky 3D model standing there. Why are some of the tiles petpets and some are neopets? Or at least I’m assuming that generic penguin and cat is supposed to be a bruce and a wocky

4. Ugly ass assets and for what reason. Not even in the charming old web shitty art way but like genuinely just lazy and ugly.

She was out to prepare something in the greenhouse to surprise Ivy but then was caught by her in the act. Tending to some roses as she nervously picked one up and handed it to her. In return she got a headpat from her girlfriend that made her super flushed avoiding eyes to look at her.

"April, you are just a sweetheart... I would have been happy enough to tend to these with you."

"I... just don't want anyone to be put off how I look again... not many trust demons but... that you would give me such kindness... pat me like this... I am happy that I neither scare not push you away... I love you so much."

Hearing this Ivy herself blushed and pulled her hands closer.

"You need to less listen to others, You are beautifull, April."

This was the final step to making her a nervous emberassed mess and hide her face sitting down on the bench to calm down for a while... while her Girlfriend leaned against her holding the rose happily.

He was finally done with what he did as Astrid came to visit him... he inspected and held the doll up in his hands as he felt her slightly ruffle his hair and smile.

"Its looks pretty as usual, you really do good with the details."

Emil was a mix of pouty, red and tired looking at her.

"You know you shouldn't touch me out of knowwhere but... thank you... its good for once to hear praise instead of demand after demand."

"They really don't praise you for this? You need some more recognition really, in doubt I take care of it."

"You don't have to... wait if you are here let me show you the ones I made for you."

He got up to pick out the box where he placed the finished ones but she has a smile enough that she could get his usual annoyed facade lift into a red smile.

Neopets Plots/Events/Plevents; My Experiences

Going by JellyNeo's Book of Agest for a most comprehensive listing, because late Viacom Plevents are so unmemorable that I'd never be able to do it by memory.

2004

Battle For Meridell I joined while this plot was ongoing. I didn't even know it was happening, other than when I finally realized I didn't need to give my pets special abilities before going to Explore, finding Meridell in complete ruin. By the time I actually found the plot comic, it was over.

Hannah and the Ice Caves I didn't have a battle pet. I followed the plot comic closely and very much enjoyed it. I love the Hannah games. I hope they come back someday.

2005

Curse of Maraqua Happy there was a non-battling option, I joined as a Supporter for this plot! Points were, supposedly, gained by both turning in items the NPC requests or playing specific Flash games. I turned in one item and played a whole ton of the Flash games, but I only got credit for the item.

According to the Editorial at the time, there was a glitch where the Flash games weren't counting for certain players. You had to actually send in a ticket to get this fixed for your account. I did not send in a ticket, assuming some big fix would be pushed, but nope. Even when the Editorial said all affected players had been fixed, I wasn't. So I got two points for turning in a single healing potion. At least I got the avatar and site theme.

Darkest Faerie This is a video game, not a plot! I got it, still have it, didn't finish it until 2018 I believe. Fun game!

Lost Desert Plot I had like an hour computer time per day max and that was not enough to figure out what I was doing with the Temple of 1000 Tombs. I got a couple of points for happening to play a game of Pyramids, but that was the extent of what I did that actually counted.

I did wander the Temple of 1000 Tombs for fun a lot, and I helped out on the furniture-moving step if I remember right? That was open for everyone I think.

Loved the comic, though. I became absolutely obsessed with the storylines that came out around this time (both Darkest Faerie and Lost Desert Plot) and those characters still resonate with me the most today.

2006

Altador Mini-Plot The first plot that went right start-to-finish! I followed a guide and got everything done as it came out, having a blast.

Cyodrake's Gaze This happened at this time? Well, it was just a comic with making some guesses as to who did it. I guessed Anshu and was wrong(sorry Anshu! Just thought your version of the story was more different than the others!), but I got the other questions right.

Tale of Woe First real plot that I completed start-to-finish! And my favorite to this day. I was obsessed with Sophie the Swamp Witch since I got her TCG card so I loved seeing her with a real personality and backstory in the plot.

The only parts I didn't do were some of the higher-level battles and the harder version of the Potion step. I was too obsessed with digging to bother figuring out the puzzle there.

Wand of Wishing This is a video game, not a plot! I have it. I still haven't beaten it. I should add that to my to-do list.

2007

Journey to the Lost Isle My memories of this plot were that it was okay. Kinda fun, but nothing to write home about. I did not become invested in the characters. I remember a few steps being basically rehashed from Tale of Woe, which isn't a bad thing by itself.

2008

Operation: Petpet Park I remember this being an interesting diversion, and I played it all the way through. Didn't really catch me and get any lasting memories, though.

Puzzle Adventure This is a video game, not a plot! I have it, and I did not finish it. I did not find the gameplay fun and all I wanted was the site them.

My step-dad wanted the book, so he redeemed the first code, which locked our Wii's codes to his account and I quit once I realized that.

Then, years later, I played on my aunt's Wii and one of the prizes was already redeemed by someone else somehow. Despite the first code supposedly locking all of the prizes to my account. Since I wasn't going to suffer through this game if there was any chance I wasn't getting the site theme at the end, I quit.

And now the codes from this are locked because some cheater figured out how to guess them. Which is probably how one of my codes was already redeemed. So I'll never get the site theme. I hate whoever did this with a burning passion.

Return of Dr. Sloth I got stuck on the codebreaking part and wasn't able to participate in most of this plot. Didn't find the comic all that interesting, either.

2009

Atlas of the Ancients I recall this plot but as another kinda boring one. I got all the way through and finished with a good, but not the highest, trophy. Mostly because I didn't grind some of the steps enough.

But hey, I can turn my pets Magma at will (now that the glitch keeping me out is fixed), so worth it!

Quizaria's Curse This is a video game and not one I got. I do not have a Leapfrog.

2010

Faeries' Ruin I, at this point in my Neo-life, went on hiatus every year from the start of the Altador Cup through the Advent Calendar. So I didn't know about this plot until it was halfway through!

I had a good time while I was there, but was a bit salty about missing the beginning.

2011

Krawk Island Disappearance Crewdoku was fun. That's all I remember from this.

2013

Spooky Food Eating Contest I took a bunch of screenshots of the catacombs so I'd actually remember this plevent. I remember setting timers and having a blast.

War of the Obelisk Finally, a battling plot I could make it all the way through! I joined the Order of the Red Erisim and was actually able to beat the other team leaders on Easy! It reinvigorated me into training for the next war.

2014

Desert Diplomacy I enjoy logic puzzles, so I enjoyed this (and the Negg Fest one that happened one year. Not listed on this list.)

Portal Activation Centre I completed this but have very faded memories of it.

2017

Wraith Resurgence This was. . . a real disappointment. I got through it and was super happy defeating the Darkest Faerie at the end (She is in my account's canon an important character in my battle pet's past so him beating her up was so satisfying), but the actual plot had bad art, bad story, and moved entirely too slowly.

2018

Lyra and the Lost Heirloom I followed the plot for the first few steps but got bored because it took too long and took a hiatus from the site. By the time I got back, the prize shop was closed, so even though I earned some points, I wasn't able to use them!

Bad, bad feelings about this plot all around.

2019

Legends and Letters This is a mobile game that I did not play because I wasn't interested in the gameplay.

2024

The Void Within Looking above at the recent plots that took too long to get going so I took hiatus and missed most of them. . . I'm hoping I somehow like this plot. I like the buildup during the events last year and actually got me to be more active. I might even participate in the Altador Cup this year (haven't since the Flash versions went down and were replaced with awful HTML5 versions).

But those NC cookies and the fact that one achievement you absolutely needed to log in on a Sunday make me nervous. Like, Sunday. Really? I thought for sure since it wasn't obtainable by Friday it wouldn't be obtainable until there was an actual step to do. And right after they say that there's some leeway with not being on every day.

I got the achievement, but still. Weekends are the times I'm most likely to accidentally miss a day since I'm not on my normal routine.

so I got a little antsy and decided to redo a bunch of my pets that just weren't clicking with me in their current states.

as much as I love real life axolotls, I absolutely despise Lutaris. I had a Maraquan Lutari for over a year and just could not click with her. So yesterday I decided to use my Premium perk and morphed her into a Burlap Peophin, and I am smitten. She even has a petpet and P3 already (plushie Mimbi, Moffit) and she's just fabulous. So cute. 10/10.

my hissi had been Dimensional, the result of a boon of FFQs during the faerie event. Dimensional didn't work well for her, having been previously Halloween. apparently I have full time Magma Pool access and just dipped her, and I think she looks swell. (of course, contrary to bullet point 1, I have entered her in the Dream Pet Giveaway to turn into...a Halloween Lutari. shut up.)

the final one...man, I created a Blumaroo a year or so ago after a friend showed me some amazing customizations with them. The poor thing sat, unpainted in the stupidest outfits I could muster up, no petpet, no nothing. Eventually I had enough and decided that it was high time to morph them into something I would like, which is a Draik, since I have like 90 Draiks (exaggerated, but I do have a ton of them). I opted for Tyrannian since they're a) buyable and b) really unique with the head shape and horn, and gave her a Tyrannian Rock since they are fossils and rule and have been trying to get a Pebble to attach all day to no avail. Also I figure if I get bored of her as Tyrannian I can paint her Valentine and then sell body parts to get a Valentine PPPB for her Rock.

This is Amber, she's an earth faerie but she specializes in autumn related duties and tends to her stretch of the woods as it settles in for the upcoming winter. She minds her own business, but she's very loyal to her friends and has a bit of a temper.

This faerie is aroallo!

This is Ianthe. She's a dark earth faerie, and she's dark because she specializes in poisons... kinda. She's gotten a bad reputation bc a villain framed her for a murder, and so she's kinda leaned into it because she couldn't clear her name in the public eye and so now she's, like, the Poison Faerie. But really she's a researcher of the magics *and* sciences of this world, and works on creating cures as well as studying toxins and poisons. Queen Fyora and others have yet to clear her of the accusations, the only thing she has is a decently solid alibi. But as we all know, poison can be ingested even when the poisoner is elsewhere, so evidence is being hunted down by both the defending and prosecuting parties while Ianthe is laying low.

This faerie is lesbian!

This is Alassa. She's a water faerie that lives in a cove that's near where the Haunted Woods and the Lost Desert meet at the sea pre-Faerieland falling from the sky. There she lives and tries to help sailors as she can, but mostly she's just living. She really enjoys the annual faerie festival.

This is Enola, and she's an interesting and so rarely seen faerie in Neopia that when neopets try to tell others about the faerie they ran into, they often get teased for crying wolf. Lupe? But she, and other faeries like her, have a very important role of protecting the most wild corners of Neopia. And they have a great love for petpets and petpetpets! Enola here is a petpetpet specialist and is basically doing preservation work on some endangered species. She reports in her findings when she can to other researchers in Faerieland to help protect this world from threats and also from themselves.

significant improvement on the aisha plush has occurred. the ears are as i said they should be now, the mouth is centered, and changing the body pose to sitting kills three other birds i remarked upon with one stone: the head is more stable, the feet can be flat again, and the wing placement is markedly improved. i am literally always right. anyway, i desperately wish they would just close this thing's mouth but apparently their shit just has to be standardized with customization art. i didn't even realize they included female aisha eyelashes at first, and i get why they removed them, but my big complaint at this point is the face is now arguably less "cute." they should probably space the eyes back out again to help with that. it would match post-conversion aisha anyway. the void aisha plush's face maybe looked a bit better but that might have been down to the colors/lighting. it's significantly improved but still really not ideal as the new aisha plush model just because of the face issue alone.

they flattened the snout on the doglefox but not the kacheek...? honestly, i quite liked how the previous doglefox design looked so much like the actual petpet art. all stocky and dated looking. this doglefox is a much more modern style but it's still cute and technically has nothing wrong with it. i will miss having an actual tuft of fluff though. as for the kacheek, i mean, they fixed his fucked up croissant head and centered the mouth like the aisha, but the snout........... it still looks really bad in certain lighting..... the faellie is also good. after the ol shoyru incident i'm glad they didn't give it a mouth, it's very cute.

and a really really cute kougra, wow. good shape on the tiger snout which is easy to fuck up. i love his dopey little face. he's the only one that still has a plush bow and not a real ribbon so he's probably an older model than the others, but he's already perfect, please don't change a thing.

hmm, the phatmojo neopets plushie prototypes. i have the most problems with the aisha plushies. i know model consistency is barely a thing in neopets but the aisha feels kind of off model to me. the weird crooked-but-centered mouth looks awful on the basic size. the large size looks like it's struggling to hold up its own head while both sizes seem to have trouble holding up their second set of ears, which is a problem that's plagued aisha plushies before but it usually only developed with age/wear. not a fan of the pattern having pronounced nub paws instead of relatively flat feet like aishas are supposed to and previous aisha plushies have had. i'm also not sure why they chose that sort of... more realistic outward-facing shell-shaped pattern for the smaller ears when they should be a flat triangle inside another triangle, or at least front-facing, both of which were done in previous aisha plushies. this ear style wouldn't be bad on its own, but it looks incongruous with style of the second set of ears. the position of the wings looks... not ideal at most angles, kind of just stuck out flat like an airplane, but admittedly i'm not sure how you'd fix that.

i also personally hate that they kept the permanently curved dinosaur tail that the conversion art introduced but whatever, it's a stock art feature so i can't objectively criticize them for that.

the doglefox looks fine. i don't have any complaints about the doglefox, i think it's the best plush of the lineup. doglefoxes are normally supposed to have solid black eyes but i don't think the eye whites look bad here at all. it's just cute.

the kacheek is sort of weird. they unfortunately repeated the mistake many older kacheek plushes made of excessively defining the shape of their (relatively nonexistent) snout, and also opting to represent the tuft of hair as two black strings to match the game lineart instead of doing an actual tuft of fabric fluff. it reminds me of that bread dog pokemon, or the warrior cat plushie snouts. historically, the cutest kacheek plushies have been ones that tone down the snout line (and use fluff for the head hair, like the keyquest plushies), if you ask me. but even if they were going to do this, the eyes should then be pushed down to create that cute creased-lower-lid look that kacheeks have in their standard art. although, i don't think any kacheek plushies ever succeeded at capturing the creased-eye look except the baby one, and i guess speckled burker king but that one looks odd for other reasons. but that's what they should be doing if they want it to look cute instead of massively overemphasizing the line of the snout itself. the head is also weirdly wide at the top. at least the tail and body look fine.

i loved back to the future! i've watched the three films but its been a few years since i've watched them, so i cant quite remember exactly what happens. (but i do remember i liked them a lot!)

i prefer icarly mainly because i watched it more than victorious when i was a kid (i dont really know why......i just know it was easier for me to watch icarly????????). my favourite icarly episodes are any episodes where spencer has tons of screen time. i really like those where they go to japan as well! and spencer is definitely my favourite character. spencer and gibby – they are THE best!

speaking of nostalgia, i've recently started playing club penguin again. i grew up playing it, got really sad when it ended and now i'm back at it (obviously not playing the original BUT its still cool)

it really was amazing. i'm curious for what's going to be the theme for next year's presentation. i think it's going to be an even nicer experience since i'll probably feel more confident :)

hello, lilly/deimos! it’s nice to finally meet you!!! i apologize for the late response, as i’ve been busy with work and i also have a concerning tendency to stall before responding to people. so don’t even worry about giving late responses, as i completely understand how difficult it can be at times! with that being said, i hope you’ve had a wonderful holiday!

there’s this little quirk about bttf 2, which is most notably one of the most random subplots in cinematic history, where marty suddenly gets pissed off every time someone calls him ‘chicken’. it’s absolutely hilarious when you go back and watch that scene where he turns around and says, ‘nobody calls me chicken’ with a serious tone. where did this subplot come from? why is it pertinent for the movie to establish that marty doesn’t like to be referred to as a barnyard animal? i don’t know, but it’s funny as hell lmaoooo

spencer and gibby are the backbone of icarly, to be completely honest. spencer’s niche artistic expression paired in with his genuine passion for his little sister’s show is what makes him such a great character. and gibby’s eccentricities are also what makes the show so iconic even years after its final cancellation. (although, noah munck did admit that he began to feel exhausted by how fans of the show would constantly go up to him and ask him to pull off his shirt—the whole “gibbyyy” routine) it’s a shame that gibby’s anticipated spinoff show was cancelled before an official pilot was released. it would’ve been interesting to see how that character’s life would’ve progressed post-series finale. instead, we got ‘sam and cat’ ; a decent show that contained two of the most beloved characters on nickelodeon at that point in time, but a failed emulation of its predecessors

icarly tangent aside, that’s awesome that you reconnected with club penguin again! did you play any other online games that were popular at that time like petpet park, movie star planet, poptropica, ect.? (damn.. we had so many virtual games that catered to our demographic back then :( )

nike may be a huge softie but that doesn't change the fact that her taste in music is mostly sabaton and heavy/power metal song covers, and that she fights for a living. samiya may have a job rescuing petpets but she still goes through ship wreckage and dangerous waters to save them or just have fun.

what I'm saying is they both have a very soft side and a very badass side and they absolutely bring out both in each other. sure they're cool most of the time, but like, when it comes to going out and having fun together they can wreck the fucking joint (without actually disrupting anyone else's fun, of course)
