A/N: A short little story featuring our favorite green eyed hunter. Story idea from a reblog by @jackles010378. I couldn’t help writing this. The pictures were too good not to write about. 😂

Dean Winchester was a force to be reckoned with. He was tough, grumpy, and was known for being a bed hopper. He would roll into town on a hunt, find the bustiest, loosest women he could find and bed them. Then he would be gone. A trail of heartbreak in his wake.

When you met the boys, you were all hunting the same monster and decided to work together. By the end of the hunt you and Dean definitely had some sexual tension. You however, refused his advances. 

Sam laughed as Dean’s jaw hit the ground. “Come on sweetheart, let’s blow off some steam together.” “I’ll pass. Thanks though, Dean.” You sat at the table sipping the beer you had. Dean was frustrated. “Well boys, it was good working with ya. I’m heading to bed. Keep my number in case you need help with another case. See ya.”

You got up and headed towards your room. Getting about halfway across the parking lot you hear Dean, “Hey, Y/N, wait up.” Stopping you turned towards him, “Yes, Dean. How can I help you?” “Are you seriously not going to blow off some steam with me?” You got right near his face, lips inches from each other. You could feel his hot breath mixing with yours. The smell of beer, whiskey and mint filling your nose. 

Your lips ghosted over his, “No, I’m not.” You smirked and walked away. Dean standing in the parking lot, lips quivering and body aching for your touch. He groans, runs his hands through his hair and walks to his room.

The three of you had an adjoining room. You left your side unlocked, and opened as you jumped in the shower. The bathroom door was slightly open.You knew what you were doing.

Dean unlocked their side when he entered the room, determined to break down your walls. He’d never been rejected before and it was driving him wild, you were driving him wild. 

He wanted you more than he’d wanted anyone else. Dean had no idea what it was about you. Maybe it was the thrill of your rejection, or it could be because you were in the life, or perhaps it was the way you looked, cutting off a vamp's head and then got covered in blood. Whatever it was, he knew he wanted you. He wanted you for more than a night, he just had to figure out how to prove that to you. 

When he unlocked the adjourning door he saw your side was unlocked. He called your name as he stepped into the room. Dean heard the shower running and you singing. God her voice sounds like an angel. I shouldn’t be here. She’s showering, but the door was open. Oh shit! The bathroom door is cracked. 

Dean swallowed hard. “Hey sweetheart, are you in here?” He called loudly. You heard him and you smirked. “No, Dean. The shower is just on and the radio is playing. What do you want?” You turned off the shower and stepped out, grabbing a towel. Dean looked through the crack and saw your naked body. His member twitched against his zipper. 

You stepped into the room, with the towel wrapped around you. Dean smirked and ran his fingers through his hair, “I just wanted to talk, but I’ll let you get changed.” “Dean, come back in 5 minutes and we’ll talk.” Dean nodded and walked out. 

That conversation is what led you to where you were today. Three years later and you were still hunting with the Winchesters. The difference, you finally gave into Dean and the two of you have been inseparable ever since. Sure you’ve had your ups and downs, but you’ve always found a way to work it out. 

You love Dean. He is the love of your life. You know he loves you too, but he hasn’t said it yet. Well, not using those three words, but you know he does. He shows you in the little things he does. 

When you’re not feeling well, he brings you your favorite soup, when it’s that time of the month he brings you chocolate and rubs your back, when you cry he holds you tight. Dean might not be able to say he loves you, but he definitely shows you. 

Sam came into the bunker and told you and Dean he caught a case. The three of you loaded up and headed towards Jody and the girls. Sam told you there was a rash of killings and disappearances near Jody and they needed help. It was an all hands on deck situation. 

Dean drove, Sammy rode shotgun, and you sat in the back reading a book. You would glance up and catch Dean’s eye in the rearview mirror. He’d smirk and you’d smile. After a few hours Dean was pulling up to Jody’s house. She came out and greeted the three of you. She offered her spare room and sofa, but you and Dean would feel more comfortable in a hotel. Especially since the girls were there. You didn’t want to traumatize them if they walked in on you and Dean. 

The hunt was harder than expected. You got hurt and Dean was pissed. “What the hell were you thinking, Y/N?! You could have been killed!” “I was thinking about saving that girl. She was terrified and needed help, Dean! You would have done the same thing if you were in that room.” “It was a trap! You were just too blind to see it was. That was incredibly stupid!” 

Sam, Jody and the girls whipped their heads and looked at Dean, then back at you. “Excuse me?! Are you calling me stupid?” “Well if the shoe fits.” He said. You gasped, “I can’t believe you said that, Dean.” Sam stepped in, “Hey, guys, come on. Don’t do this. You’re going to say something you’ll regret.” 

“Stay out of it Sammy.” Dean hissed. Sam, Jody and the girls decided to go inside, leaving you and Dean outside to work out your latest argument. You looked at Dean and he looked at you. Tears filled your eyes. 

“This was a mistake.” “You damn right it was, sweetheart. You should have listened to me. Maybe next time you will and you won’t make a stupid mistake.” Your breath hitched as the tears fell. You felt the rain start and could hear the sound of thunder in the distance. You knew a storm was coming, and not just in the sky, but in your heart. 

“Dean, I can’t do this anymore. I love you, but this, (you motioned between the two of you) isn’t going to work if you don’t trust me to make decisions. I have never questioned your actions on a hunt, but you always question mine.” “Yeah, when your actions are reckless and could get you killed.” 

It started to rain harder. “Let’s go inside, sweetheart. We are getting soaked.” Dean reached for your hand and you pulled away, “No, goodbye, Dean.” You took one last look at Dean and started to walk away. Tears streaming down your face.

Dean yelled for you to stop and come back. You kept walking. He stood there watching you walk away.

Walking into Jody’s house, Sam and Jody looked at Dean who was soaked. “Where’s Y/N?,” Sam asked. Dean couldn’t answer, his heart was shattered. “Dean! Where is Y/N?!” Sam yelled. “She left me.” Jody looked at Dean and shook him, “Go after her! That woman loves you and she brings out the best in you, you’d be a fool to lose her. Go get her now!” 

Dean got up and ran outside. Standing outside he froze, you were walking back up the driveway. When you saw Dean you stopped. Dean stood staring at you, regret and love filling his eyes. You were soaked and your hair was sticking to your face. Dean saw the hurt in your eyes and his heart clenched. The two of you looked in each other’s eyes, saying things your mouth couldn’t. 

You ran to Dean, throwing your arms around him. He pulled you into his arms and your legs wrapped around his waist. His lips crashed on yours, “I’m so sorry, sweetheart. I love you.” “I love you too, Dean, so much.” After that night, the two of you made two promises to each other, the first was to always talk things out, and the second was to always find time to kiss in the rain.

What’s your favorite scene so far? Like not just to write but just in general.

Sad, happy, funny whatever, what’s your all time favorite? :D

OOOOHHHHH MAN. I HAVE AN EXACT SCENE IN MIND, BUT CAN’T SHARE IT YET BECAUSE IT’S IN ONE OF THE LAST CHAPTERS. 😂 I’ll give a very brief overview of what it entails, because I feel like the fact that it happens isn’t exactly a spoiler since it’s kind of inevitable given all of Candybug’s general assholery, though I’ll put it in small text in case people want to gloss over it, but basically *cough cough* Vanellope flips her goddamn lid at King Candy (long overdue and well-deserved ofc lmao) and I just can’t wait to get to that part, she tells him off VERY HARD. My favourite scene for sure. :3 (tbh there’s a lot of emotionally painful shit that comes up in that particular set of chapters that I’m just so unhinged and not normal about lmfao CAN’T WAIT TO HURT YOU GUYS MORE <333)

AS FOR SCENES OF THE ALREADY-COMPLETED CHAPTERS THOUGH, MAN, THAT’S ALSO TOUGH TO DECIDE TBH 😂 Chapter 3 and Chapter 8 have been my favourites overall of the published chapters so far, and a couple of my fave moments from those ones was a) Ralph finding out that Candybug’s still alive and the general fallout from that, and b) Candybug reminiscing to Felix and Vanny that he went through Ralph’s mud pile on purpose before coming inside the penthouse specifically to annoy Gene ghfdsgxdhcfgvhbjnkvgf

I also like these two a lot, idk exactly how to explain why I like the second one tbh, but the first one I just find fun and silly lol: 

“Alright, pipsqueak, what exactly did you mean by Cy-bug-related–” She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw the beastly hybrid in front of her.  “Hello there!” King Candy chipperly greeted her, adding on a friendly wave. “Why, aren’t you looking lovely today! Is that a new hairstyle? It suits your character model wonderfully.” “Layin’ it on a little too thick, there.” Vanellope whispered to him, an anxious grin plastered across her face. “Hmm, you think so?” He tapped his chin with one claw, eventually nodding in agreement. “Perhaps the hair comment was a tad much.”

I just like the whole vibe of like…

Vanellope: For the love of mod, please be nice.

Vanellope two minutes later: NOT THAT NICE.

Oh, KCB and his fake-ass bitch energy. 😂

And then this one:

For the longest time, it had been so hard to look at him and see anything aside from Turbo, the monster. The arcade’s personal boogeyman. The bitter, vile, heartless fiend that gleefully stole the lives away from so many people, herself included. But, with each passing day, it was becoming easier and easier to see him as Turbo, the person. Someone with feelings and interests and problems… Oh, so many problems. But still a person, like anybody else in the arcade. If she were being truly honest with herself, she hated it. She hated the dichotomy that came with seeing him in this light. She hated the ways in which she could find sympathy for him despite knowing just how undeserving he was of it. Knowing full well all the wrongs he’s done.  All of it rooted in that one particular wrong so many years ago. That one choice that she had never been able to wrap her head around, no matter how many times she’d heard the story. Now, it was time for her to understand. 

BUT HONESTLY I JUST LOVE THE WHOLE ROADBLASTERS CONFRONTATION IN GENERAL AGHSFDGJVBJNK, I LIKE DOING “NARC CRASH” STUFF WITH KING CANDY, IT MAKES MY BRAIN GO BRRRRRRRRRR

There’s also some fun Calhoun + Candybug interactions coming up eventually, and even though they don’t interact a whole lot as compared to the other characters, I love their stupid dynamic and I’m gonna share this one scene from one of the later chapters of Calhoun completely trolling him because it makes me giggle 😂

They sat in silence for a minute or two longer, Calhoun’s head tilted slightly to the side as she watched the Cy-bug eat. One more question had popped into her mind, and though she already knew the answer, she wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to have a little fun at this bastard’s expense. “So… Haven’t laid any eggs, have you?” King Candy immediately choked on his food, hacking and coughing while he tried, unsuccessfully, to regain whatever sense of composure he had five seconds ago. Turning away to jot something into her notebook (and hide the smirk on her face), she commented, “I’ll take that as a ‘not yet’.” “What do you mean ‘yet’?!” Candy’s distraught voice sputtered back, Calhoun trying very hard to muffle her snickering.

I JUST THINK THE FACT THAT SHE KNOWS WAY MORE ABOUT CY-BUGS THAN THE ACTUAL CY-BUG COULD MAKE FOR SOME VERY SILLY TROLLING SHENANIGANS. 😂

Top Five Favorite Things To Write

I'm going to slowly try to catch up on tag games and asks from the last... however long ago lol, now that I'm back from a work/vacation trip. I was tagged by @justabigoldnerd and @pippinoftheshire sometime last week I think, the game is self-explanatory. I did have to think about this one, and I chose to go more on the specific side of things for most of these.

Feelings realizations/love confessions under dire circumstances. I feel like these are two sides of the same coin. Dire peril making someone realize how much they care about someone is my shit, and I love a good anguished love confession. Even better, make it while someone is dying. 😂

Antagonistic flirty banter. I could just put 'banter' here, because I do love to write it in all it's forms, but I especially love the flirty antagonism that comes when two people are clearly attracted to each other but desperately fighting it.

Action sequences (most of the time). This is one I think I'm good at writing, and I do enjoy writing them the majority of the time. Sometimes I get one where I have to just get through it. The action sequences in Body and Soul(mate) were supremely fun to write.

Mutual pining/'not actually unrequited love'. I love when they're both quietly pining but they (or circumstances) won't let themselves have what they both so desperately want.

Tender wound care. God, the 'gently taking care of the other's wound' is my crack. The vulnerability. The suppressed feelings fighting their way to the surface. The putting of hands on bare skin. Caretaking in general I love, but especially this sub-category.

[honorable mention bc I started looking through my fics and couldn't not include this one] Food as a metaphor for love. There's something about one character cooking for the other that is just the absolute best. Especially (almost exclusively, tbh), before they get together, and all those bottled up feelings have to come out somehow.

do you recommend watching The Originals?

Nonnie, you're out with the tough questions 😂

I've been here thinking about this for a few minutes. The answer is... depends? lol I know some people who really like The Originals, so it's hard to say that you should or shouldn't watch it. It really depends on what kind of thing you're looking for and where do you draw a line.

Personally, I have a lot of issues with TO lol And back when it was still airing and I was watching it as the episodes came out, I abandoned it halfway through S3 because I got to a point where the very far and few good parts were no longer making it worth my while. A lot of people think S3 is the best season, I think it's by far the worst one lol So you see how it really depends.

But I do like it that I watched it in end, even though it took me a few years. It gives me authority that I know exactly what I'm talking about when I shit talk it lol also whenever people who can't stand the show have a canon-related question, they come to me because I watched it some 200 times so other people don't have to suffer through it, and I think that's beautiful 😂😂

Here's a simple pros vs cons list *in my opinion*: Pros: it's more Mikaelson screen time, so there's that. That are some plot lines that had potential, although almost none of them are well executed. Seasons 1 and 2 are actually kind of ok. S3 and 4 Klaus hair is 🤌🤌🤌 The WILD CURLS ERA! I'm a simple girl, you give me Klaus in tight Henley shirts with curly curls, I'm in. There are some great family moments scattered throughout the seasons, some really cool scenes that make you think 'wow, this could've been a great show' (right before you get pissed off that it wasn't). Daniel Sharman's Kol is, IMHO, the superior Kol (I don't like Nate Buzz's acting). Jomo really delivers as Klaus regardless the whole bullshittery around him and gets some great chances to just be a little shit, which I love. There are some great Klaroline moments (and not just in S5). And in spite of my overall feelings for TO, one of my favorite all-time TVDverse characters is from there: Vincent Griffith. I love him to bits. I also really like Marcel, even though he becomes a glorified extra after S1, and Jackson. Also, if you're really into werewolves, this is really the show where they get any screen time. I'm not saying it's good, but at least it's there (and no, Klaus never turns into a wolf, it makes no sense).

Cons: Really bad, inconsistent writing. Some seasons have storylines that just die out of nowhere for no reason (*cough*season 3*cough*). The whole premise of the show is insane (there was absolutely no need for Hope when Marcel is right there). The crossovers with TVD are very poorly done and very glaring opportunities go unexplored (like at the end of S1). Rebekah drops out pretty soon into the show. Elijah changes personality at least once every season to the point where, by the end of the show, they just retcon him completely. The finale is RIDICULOUS. Season 4 was written by someone on a wild acid trip, season 5 is really not worth your time AT ALL (except for the Klaroline moments). Female characters are very badly treated (pretty standard in the TVDverse, but anyway). Klamille is a thing, although, as with everything else, it's so badly done it's only marginally there. There are a lot of retcons and rewritings of the show's own mythology, which is annoying. And it's just... Bad. I don't know what to say, it just never lived up to the hype of what a show about the Original family could've been or what TVD had been at its peak. It's never, ever even remotely as good as TVD was around S2-3, not even at its best moments.

Those are my personal opinions, anyway. I'm sure others might feel different, but each to their own. It's really about you considering whether or not that's something you might enjoy or if it will at least be worth your time. Maybe start it and see how you feel? Worst case scenario, at least you get to see more of Klaus prancing around New Orleans.

Also, the first episode of TO is different from the backdoor pilot in TVD. That's more of a Klaus POV one, while the one in TO is more an Elijah POV.

Hey again!!! I really apreciate the lore dump, it's always great learning about my favorite bands! And connecting songs to Sonic and Shadow are literally so fun to me so I'm glad you also see the vision!!! 🥺

I also stopped my assignments temporarily just to check these songs out because, funny enough, I haven't heard any of these before except for "Social Cues" (WHICH IS AMAZINGGGH, especially the chorus, it's literal brain food)! And I live for song recommendations!!! Let me tell you, I had to stop myself from standing up and banging the library windows with my fists dramatically.. THESE SONGS ARE SO GOOD??

Especially Especially "Halo," "Spiderhead," and "Sweetie Little Jean Unpeeled." Halo's transition from "lay low" to "lost my halo" has me on my knees. Spiderhead's melody is amazing and the lyrics are just as great (Loove the "I wouldn't change you if I could 'say you wanted to,'" soooooo peak).

And don't even get me started on the Unpeeled version of Sweetie Little Jean! This one is my favorite of the favorites. His unpeeled songs are masterpieces!!! I gotta say, something about string instruments find a way to reach my soul. His unpeeled songs go CRAZY with them!!! So when I was going through the song recs, I literally stopped at this one and stared longingly out the window because literally the violin picking up after the lyrics "How long will we let it go" held my hand and then threw me into the stratosphere. They're so,, raw with emotion?! Beautiful. Amazing even.

And wow, you're right about Abredeen's music video! Broke my heart seeing how misunderstood the dragon was, that eventually he even died because of it :( ouch owie ouch,, but that doesn't distract from the piece of art that is "Abredeen!"

All in all, thank you again for the support of my art and all the amazing CTE tracks!! It's amazing seeing that others like my stuff, it makes me happy doing the hobby I love! I'm glad it's edible too, lol (That gif got a laugh out of me), and thank you for the semester wishes! Though what semesters entail can be tough at times, it will never stop me from pursuing my current interest: drawing hedgehog yaoi!

I wanted to give you a fabulous question like you’ve been spreading around here and there, but I couldn’t think of any until now.

First off

And as a question from the fic, do you think Cas could read her mind or at least see her arousal and potentially figured out what was happening between them?

This stems from a theory that angels can sense things like cancer or STD’s, and I imagine Cas being Dean’s wingman and telling the potential hook ups something along the lines of - “Don’t worry, we fixed up that UTi last week. Dean’s a great guy.”

tl;dr (cause this got long): I think angels have concepts of arousal/sexuality, but are mostly clueless about the in's and out's (lol) and can't necessarily deduct this kinda stuff. Or at least Cas can't, the sweet lamb.

Helloooo my lovely! Thank you so, so much, I'm so happy you liked the first chapter of Marked (shameless self-plug, you can read it here). It's nice to finally have it out there!

Okay, on to your amazing question - I won't go too much into whether Cas in that scene specifically figured out what was going on with the reader. Let's just say the Cas I tend to write (for some reason) is usually well-meaning but a bit... slow? Which obviously makes sense when it comes to any human business, but I have a hard time writing him in any other way, because that is mostly what I take away from his character (no hate!). I'm rewatching the show right now and hopefully when I get to season 4, my Cas palate will be expanded a little.

Back on topic: I won't spoil whether Cas in this story figures anything out, but I think it's well established that even for an angel, he's a bit naive on what constitutes human behavior. So I think Cas would definitely be able to sense stuff like this (at least early, un-nerfed Cas) but I think it would be very confusing to him. He'd say shit like: "your body temperature is rising, do you require soup?" or something, idk.

This goes into the whole: do angels understand sexuality thing, and possession thing, which is... something I could talk about for days and days. It's one of my absolute favorite SPN topics. And since you asked (you didn't) I will quickly expand on what my view on this is:

Angels don't have a sexuality or gender. That's human nonsense. Some of them might have a more curious nature and watch us like ants and know more about us, and some are clueless. When it comes to taking a human as a vessel, they're suddenly thrown into this whirlwind of experiences. Some of it must be quite off-putting (explain keeping pets or social media to someone like that, it doesn't make sense without the human factor), but I think the longer they are in a vessel (especially if it's the same one), the more human sensations become a part of their everyday experience, and thus the more they understand about humans. Now, do they suddenly develop a sexuality just because in theory they have the ability to get physically aroused? Obviously that's the purview of the writer and I can see good arguments for "yes", but my instinct is "no".

(No one asked this either, but demons are a different matter. They used to be human, so they already know all this stuff. They might have a sexuality and a gender, but of course with how they're able to possess different bodies, it's fun to play around with that).

When I wrote Are You Now or Have You Ever Been I got to explore this a little through Gadreel, and the feelings he has for Sam's lover - does he have them because he experienced everything Sam experienced retroactively, or are they his own feelings for her? I'm also plotting a Meg/Reader fic (a sequel to A Walking Study in Demonology) that goes into this, but from from a gender envy point of view - does Meg want Sam's girl because she wants the girl or because she wants to be Sam?

As I progress through OB at my snail's pace, my mind refuses to quit rotating Taravangian in my brain like a rotisserie chicken, and I can't stop ruminating on his unnerving presence in early OB, knowing what we know, and wondering how he intends to carry out his goals and designs against Dalinar.

Plus I love The Audacity of This Bitch sometimes - he elicits so many emotions in me, lmao.

Taravangian is a super compelling antagonist, and a horrifying one, whose circumstances endlessly fascinate me. Is the fact that Taravangian, on his smartest day, lacks empathy, leading him to believe that having empathy is a sign of stupidity/weakness? Is peak intelligence marked by a lack of empathy? And what of the "nature vs. nurture" of it all - would Taravangian still believe his goals are righteous, be able to commit these atrocities, if he lacked the mental capacities to do so, if he never went to the Nightwatcher? His empathy and remorse for his actions on his “dumber” days have been portrayed as a weakness in his chapters and seen as such by his inner circle. But still they remain loyal to the Diagram, which the very same king who feels this remorse created on his “most intelligent” day, treating it like absolute truth and Taravangian like God.

Ok so there is this famous quote within Buddhist teachings (I know nothing about Buddhism, I just really like this quote!) this all brought to mind: “We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world.” If we let go of our humanity, or empathy, to achieve a higher state (as Taravangian has in creating the Diagram) for “the truth”, or godliness, or a united kingdom (as Dalinar did when conquering Alethkar), but destroy each other in the process, are we even human anymore, even if the end result could be considered a net positive? Is it a worthy goal at that point? Taravangian's designs for a unified Roshar are drawn from a mind that can somehow see the path forward to salvation, but is utterly devoid of compassion. Would his actions have been less repugnant if he had never gone to the Nightwatcher? Assuming he still had the same ambitions but actually lacked the alleged clairvoyance, would he actually be the kind and benevolent king he pretends to be? And the real question being posed, to me, is: are his actions justifiable if they end up saving the world?

On the other hand, Taravangain is not unlike Dalinar, in his days as Blackthorn, “uniting” Alethkar by waging war and terror, “for the greater good”. Does Dalinar’s present remorse and attempts to do good supersede his past wrongs? He is now encountering the consequences of his past in his attempts to unify Roshar and they keep avoiding him because HE IS A WAR CRIMINAL. The crimes in question took place decades ago, but it is Alethkar’s legacy to the rest of the world, even now. AND THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

Fuck if I don't love when a bitch gets what's coming to 'em, especially when it's my favorite characters!! 😂 It's so delicious. And even now, Dalinar’s mind for conquest is more ingrained than he seemingly is able to recognize in himself. I don't think he'll start another war campaign trying to subjugate the other kingdoms (um lmao if I'm wrong) but the fact that he still has to stop himself from considering that as an option in the first place is SO REAL! He quite literally thought he was only born to bring death and destruction - he did the most AWFUL SHIT in his youth. It's so fucked up actually that this information is presented as something Dalinar forgot and only just now is remembering like: oh, actually, yeah, all those things I did back in the day (the worst of which I don’t even FULLY recall due to memory-altering magic) might have something to do with world leaders not wanting me at the head of the forces that would be responsible for their salvation. DALINAR, MY GUY MY POOKIE MY DARLING. YIKES. YOU MAYBE SHOULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING.

YOU'VE GOT ONLY GASLIGHT GATEKEEP GIRLBOSS TARAVANGIAN IN YOUR CORNER AND THAT ONLY BC HE IS WORSE AND WANTS TO KILL YOU. I'm so glad that Brandy Sandy isn't afraid of making such a mess of things. I Love Mess and I am so invested in seeing how this will play out - and if we’ll dig further into Taravangian’s conflicting inner struggle and the dichotomy of his morality. WHICH REMINDS ME OF THE INNIE/OUTIES IN SEVERANCE, specifically Helly/Helena, though I doubt it’ll be explored as much as I would like. But I would read a Taravangian novella if Brandy Sandy ever felt the inclination. :)

I'd written down these thoughts before reaching the above scene. It's clear to me we're meant to draw a comparison between these two by putting them side by side - I was glad when we got more Dalinar and Taravangian moments to illustrate their differences and similarities. Unbeknownst to each other (or just to Dalinar), they're both working towards the same goal - unifying the world in order to save it - through vastly differing paths. It's a worthy, righteous goal, being undertaken by some of the most morally bankrupt (one in the past, the other still going strong) complex dudes, and throughout this scene we see where each man stands on the importance of morality/ethics when it comes to the end goal of serving the greater good.

(SICK ASS QUOTE BY DADDYNAR BTW I AM FANGIRLING) Dalinar is working on changing his ways, slowly and not without a million roadblocks. He is being met with so much skepticism and resistance, naturally. It's so hard to read about the terrible things he did in his youth (AND HE IS SO HARD TO DEFEND lmao), but he will need to contend with that in this book if he wants to unite instead of divide. I love themes of redemption and whether one can be irredeemable after a certain point, and if so, what is that point. But so far, his current actions are aligning with the changes in his thinking and I believe he’s on the path to some sort of redemption.

Taravangian... is lost in the sauce, even as he actively regrets the consequences of his own actions (in a way that also reminds me of Szeth - tho that's a post for another day I think lol). He is still very much committed to carrying out the Diagram’s plans, and every story needs an antagonist committed to doing what they think is right, so it'll be interesting to see this diverging path that once was much more similar to Dalinar's. And this theme could further be expanded to Kaladin and Moash's own diverging paths - but that too is a post for another day since I haven't met Moash again in OB yet!!

Anyway this rambly thought exercise got away from me. I'm just having fun rotating these chickens.

I’m not just a bitch, I’m a bitch with a backstory

My review no one asked for

I didn’t think I would like this one as much as I did, which surprised me!

Asha who, at first, seemed like a one dimensional “antagonist rival” gets a chance to be more developed and proves the point that you really don’t know what someone is going through. And damn, was Asha going through it.

Let’s get into it! Spoilers ahead:

This is where having the women serve as unreliable narrators kind of pays off—you get new perspectives with each new point of view.

I was pleasantly surprised even still, when Claire hopped in! 3 POVs worked well enough to give us more insight about Asha and her friendship. I was also shocked when the epilogue mentioned a 3 year time jump!! Like, tell me why I’m so invested in what this means, culturally for this group?

So let’s dig in with what I specifically loved:

-the center of this book was about making friends, and some pretty valid explanations for why Asha was the way she was in previous books

-I enjoyed the slow, rekindled romance, and the work the main couple needed to do when communicating with one another

-I appreciated Asha expressing how she was afraid of resonance’s guarantee of a second child. It really highlighted something I felt was realistic for a woman who isn’t ready to have another kid—I’m glad this was brought up

-Overall, Asha was really interesting as a character, she is so introverted and yet it was fun to see how she began to open up to Claire and grow as a person

Here’s my critique (some less fair than others):

-there was a HUGE opportunity missed for some kink. Asha could have shown some real brat behavior? Dom/sub play!? Hello!?

-another huge missed opportunity—Sa’khui women don’t have clits?! There MUST be a reason, Ruby Dixon— you have a monster fucker situation here, take advantage—have funnnnnn with it!!!! You hinted at the tails being sensitive but wrote little to none of that in the scenes! Also how do fangs work with blow jobs? I had assumed that was a reason Sa’khui women hadn’t done that before?? Ugh I was starved for some real freaky shit. Why are they vanilla as fuck?

-what the fuck is happening with this metlak side plot?? Are they sentient?? They seem to be a nonverbal species, but they are treated like animals?! Why does this feel racist 😂 WHY are we spending time with this side plot?

-Claire is frustrating sometimes with her whole “ew Beck don’t give me gifts” like, he’s not into you, he said it a billion times, just take them. I’m MORE curious why the sa’khui didn’t think this was weird—they were the ones who made gift giving mean something significant. They should be the ones who have a problem, or think it’s weird?? As soon as they were chill with it Claire should have backed down. He wasn’t giving her a bikini, it was baby stuff!

-Hemalo’s “I’ll just leave” noble bullshit. Dude….idk, I don’t want to be “understanding” that Asha was pushing him away, this trope of “I hope she comes back to me” fruuuustrates me. But it makes sense with how hurt and bitter Asha was. There’s just something about how others also kept telling her “he lost a daughter too” just irks me for some reason. But this is why at the end it’s so satisfying to see him grow too and be more vocal. Still though, at this point the tribe needs to invest in someone becoming a therapist. Train a metlak or something.

So what’s my overall rating:

I’m not mad that a majority of the book lacks spice—when it’s there it definitely isn’t fade to black, so it gets a 2. When it finally happens, it’s pretty passionate and fun. I appreciate the books focus, like the one before, was about Asha rekindling her relationship, and they realistically take their time with it

I really liked this one, I’d even go as to say that I would reread it for the warm, fuzzy, girls supporting girls vibe that it built. The holidays were cute and afterwards I really liked Asha as a character. It wasn’t my absolute favorite of the series so far—but I liked it more than the last few I’ve been reading.

Sorry if it sounds like I’m excited. I just happy to know that my favorite ASMR voice actor likes Black Butler too.

I tried to catch up with the Manga years ago but I sorta just gave up lol my introduction was the anime when it came to Netflix back in the day!

It wouldn't have been something I'd watch at the time, I was buried deep in the closet in a long term relationship...but old girl was TOTALLY the type to watch Black Butler and I was along for the ride. I ended up loving it, and it was definitely responsible for me shedding a lot of my typical masculine bullshit. Silly that it could lead me in that direction, but sometimes it just takes a nudge.

Sebastian was everything to me. Dub was my exposure to it, and Tatum is one of my VA goats, so it was awesome. Ono is obviously godlike in his own right so you really can't go wrong.

Obviously there's SO MUCH wrong with the fandom's ships, etc and so forth, and in my older age and maturity I don't feel like wading back through the ick just because I love sexy butlers and the Victorian aesthetic, but the series really marked a huge turning point in my life so it has a special place in my heart. 😭

Also, Grell was probably my gateway character to wanting to learn more about trans folks and breaking out of a lot of the ingrained phobias that young men are conditioned into. Not sure what really made the light bulb go off, but I'm pretty sure that it was me hopping on Tumblr and seeing how people felt about Grell (despite the problems with the depiction as well) and realizing...oh shit this is a thing. It's been a thing and I didn't really get it. Then I got it. Or at least got it enough to want to learn more and be more considerate. It's funny because maybe nowadays the concept of having to have an aha moment about gender issues seems like you must live under a rock, but I was a lil baby when Ace Ventura came out. If you know what I mean by that, then you know 90's kids were raised on trans issues being a punchline at best, but usually outright hateful. So yes, the silly little hypersexual trans anime character did in fact have a positive impact despite being imperfect. 😂

Sorry for the yap session, I just have a lot of feelings about Black Butler. It's so flawed, but so special to me at the same time. It set off a whole chain of events that led me in a much more positive direction. That's dope.

That '90s Show Part 2 Review

Overall, I'm giving Part 2 4.5 Stars out of 5!!!! I completely loved it, and thought it was an improvement from last season. I am now all the more excited for part 3, given what I know is still coming. 😜

The Good

The H U M O R continues to be the brightest spot for me. This is a genuinely funny show - I laughed out loud (okay, closer to howled if we're being honest) several times. It feels similar (though not identical) to T70S' brand of humor. I can tell it was made by the same people. This season, like last, Ozzie was my main man and had the one-liners that sent me the most but I can say the same for Jay, Gwen, Nate, and Leia too. And Bob. Oh hell, all of them! I'm sure I'll be reblogging my favorite moments for months to come while we wait for part 3!

The C H A R A C T E R D E V E L O P M E N T is the other shining star for me. The first season was limited (disappointing?) in this regard - to be fair, they only had 10 episodes to introduce us to a whole new handful of characters and make us care about them, and they mostly did. But this season brought the depth I was looking for - and we're only halfway through! 🤯 We learn more about Jay's playboy past, and see how he's actively working to grow and change and do his relationship with Leia differently. Ozzie is humanized when he has his heart broken - and his friends are there to pick up the pieces 💔. Nate struggles with his feelings and relationship with Nikki all season, and by the end of episode 8 he seems to be grappling with still having real feelings for her that he can't move on from. Nikki's pregnancy scare really affected her, and not in the way one would necessarily expect. She ended part 2 feeling lost and unsure of her direction, or what she truly wants (and not her parents), for the first time in her life. Gwen's storylines were perhaps my favorite of all (I'm a big Gwen stan, okay?). I was impressed that they decided to 'go there' with the racism plot, and even more impressed at the frank conversation she had at the end of the episode with her white (and well-intentioned, but bumbling) mom. Was it perfect and resolved? No. I think that was kind of the point. Not to mention her navigating her first real feelings and her relationship (?) with Cole. And Leia, my lovely Leia - she is learning about communication, forgiveness, honesty - all with the gentle guidance of her family and her friends. And that's not to mention Red and Kitty, who had sweet, plot-driving storylines of their own. I loved their realization that they like their rut - but loved even more when Red was inspired to live every day like it's his last and pushed through his fears to go to Paris with Kitty 🥰. This longer season has afforded more 'filler-like' episodes for us to just hang out with the characters, and get to know them more intimately. What are their wants, fears, insecurities, innermost thoughts? We are getting there. We are really getting there. Let's see what 8 more episodes will bring!

BOB! Bob gets his own point, because I enjoyed him so much (and seeing him and Red eventually come together to be overprotective grandpas 🤣. I laughed so much at his relationship with Leia, how they were just chilling in the basement, how he wanted all the teen gos. And Gwen's "What the heck, do you tell your grandpas everything?" 😂

DONNA! I adore Donna Pinciotti (Forman?), always have, and I adore her even more in the '90s than I thought possible. I love seeing her as a mom and her relationship with Leia. More pls.

This season felt more '90s to me! They incorporated more '90s references and brought back the regular fantasy sequences that always set the original apart. Off the top of my head, I loved: Kitty's Carmen Electra fantasy/nightmare (😂), Leia's Lisa Loeb fantasy (🤣), the Macarena (that shit was e v e r y w h e r e in the mid-90s, man), the Mentos commercial, Jay and Silent Bob (Kevin Smith cameo!!! also, Leo's son???) and all of Kitty's '90s slang that she picked up from the kids at school 😂👏🏻

The guest stars! Mitch and The Angel returned from T70S, and I am a big Will Forte/that era of SNL stan so I thoroughly enjoyed his appearance, too (and know he's been involved on the OG series on the writing/production side).

Red's trains (callback to season 1 of T70S - whoa!!) 🥰

I thought they struck a good balance this season between those heartfelt, 'very special episode'-type moments that '90s sitcoms were infamous for, without actually being too sickly-sweet, ala a Full House or Girl Meets World type moment. Donna and Leia's interaction in Nikki's bedroom regarding the voicemail comes to mind, as well as the is-Nikki-pregnant storyline and Nikki and Nate's celebratory dance at the end 🤣.

Which reminds me - I thought Nikki and Nate's storyline was intriguing. I have always been sort of a fan of their relationship - I don't think it's as bad as some others seem to - but remain unconvinced that they're 'meant to be' or endgame or whatever. But I enjoyed watching them navigate their break-up this season and then reluctantly find their ways back to each other, though. We'll see where it goes in part 3!

I immediately noted (and was pleased!) that there was a Laurie mention and a Midge mention this season. Both very off-hand, but it was something I was curious about. Who will be next? Betsy Kelso? 😮

The Bad

For me, ngl, Topher Grace's (Eric) absence was really felt. It is definitely the kids' show now and a substantial storyline isn't one I'd ever expect, but gosh I missed him from the family scenes at the beginning (both those with Red & Kitty, and those with Donna & Leia). The silver lining is how the other characters continue to reference him - almost in every episode, really - and so we still learn things about him and his relationships to his wife, daughter, and parents through these mentions from other characters. There will always be a part of me that is crossing my fingers for another Eric appearance, though, and I think there always will be.

Kitty's characterization as an overbearing mother was overdone. To be fair, this isn't a deviation from the original show. This is how she was often written towards the end of T70S - overbearing, possessive of Eric, lashing out at Donna or feeling in competition with her. It was done for laughs, but it wasn't particularly funny to me (and never was) 🤷‍♀️.

Not enough Geia content for my 'shipper heart 😩. We got one boob touch 😂, and it is clear that Leia still prioritizes her friendship with Gwen above all else (I lol'ed when she worried Gwen was in jail and that she would have to commit a crime to join her) but I want more, damn it! Part 2 solidified for me that Geia is never going to be anything more than a crack!ship. 😰

Which reminds me - Jay and Leia are kind of 'meh' for me. They're fine, I don't dislike them together, and I do like how we're seeing them both learn and grow through their relationship but... it just inspires kind of lukewarm feelings, I guess.

There wasn't a lot of Sherri in part 2. I love Sherri. Hope to see more of her in the next part.

The Ugly

I am pleased to say that I can't think of anything!!! Fez was absent (although they didn't directly reference their break-up, Sherri is clearly single and on the prowl all season) but I didn't miss him (🤭). Ditto to Kelso and Jackie - although we did get one reference to Jay's dad and the Kelso family heirloom (aka porn). I would say the ugliest part is that I now have to wait until October for part 3!!!

I always picture Nobara and Yuji as the goofiest little shits so it's nice to have a character that balances the team out by being like Megumi lol. I hope this okay! I'm not very familiar with his character like the others so this has been great practice. Also I realized this is more dialogue heavy than I'm used to, so that was interesting to work on! Ever since you had met those idiots you called friends so long ago, there never seemed to be any peace for you. Outwardly complaining about them was your favorite pastime, though anyone could tell that you really did love them despite the cutting tone. Nobara and Yuji were two sides of the same coin and you couldn’t have asked for a better set of dummies. Fortunately for you, you had Megumi to help balance out their stupidity. You and him actually bonded early on from the back and forth banter about how annoying they were, yet it was again obvious how much you both adored them.

All of this to say that whenever you hear your name being yelled from across the street, you couldn’t help but groan at the incoming trouble headed your way.

You shut the book you had been enjoying at the outdoor café where you like to get your favorite daily cup of tea. It was small and never overly-crowded, which was one of the best things about it. When you look over to the source of yelling, you’re not surprised to see it is indeed Nobara and Yuji barreling their way towards you.

“What do you idiots want? It’s too early for this nonsense.” You gripe back, scowling over to them.

“Fushiguro is getting hit on!” They yell at the same, both looking over to each other and frowning.

“Idiot, I said I would tell her.” Your orange-haired friend punches Yuji in the arm.

“Ow! I forgot!” He swats at her.

“What do you mean, ‘Fushiguro is getting hit on’?” You raise an eyebrow.

“I mean just what I said.” Nobara says quickly.

“And he’s really into it. I saw him waving his arms around and all that.” Yuji starts flapping his arms in a way to recreate what he saw. He accidentally slaps Nobara in the face in the process. Before she can retaliate, you raise your arms to get their attention.

“Are you sure this was Megumi Fushiguro? Broody, black spikey hair?” You chuckle nervously. “Pffft okay, sure… Regardless, he can take care of himself.” You pick at an imaginary hair on your shirt.

“Well, we know how you feel about him, don’t you wan-“ Your eyes shoot up into Nobara’s nonchalant gaze.

“You don’t know anything.” You scowl again, folding your arms across your chest.

“Keep telling yourself that, but we’re going back to watch this train wreck. You can join if you want!” And then they’re already off. In a huff, you gather your things and follow them. You really hope they’re just blind and got the wrong person. It wasn’t Megumi. It couldn’t be.

When they finally stop running, you are completely out of breath. You’re not that out of shape considering the regiment your school puts you through, but you didn’t realize they would be taking you so far away. How they ran to you in the first place is mind boggling. What’s even worse is that as you make it to the concrete stairs leading down to a landing, you definitely spot your friend Megumi - still chatting away with another girl.

The sinking feeling in your chest comes instantly. How stupid of you to not have said how you felt about him sooner. Now here are the consequences of your actions. He points at something, which makes the stranger laugh loud enough that it trickles up the staircase and into your ears. Your legs are flying down the stairs before you even realize what’s happening.

 “There you are, Megumi!” You yell, pulling your lips back into a fake smile.

He jumps at the sudden loudness, whipping around at the sound of your voice. The girl he’s talking to smiles at you and waves.

“What’s going on here?” You ask, your voice coming out a little higher than planned.

“This is-“ You cut Megumi off by grabbing his arm and tugging on it.

“Oh that’s great, it’s nice to meet you. Actually, if you don’t mind I’d love to steal him away from you if that’s okay?” And with that you start walking, pulling him away.

“O-okay! Thank you for your help!” You hear her yell from behind. You don’t give her a second glance as you pull him around the corner.

“Hey, what the fuck was that?” Megumi stops abruptly, grabbing your hand and making you stop as well.

“I’m not sure what you mean?” You face him and smile sweetly. Your cheeks hurt from the forced effort.

“Don’t play dumb with me. That wasn’t like you at all.” His eyes cut into yours and you can’t help but look away.

“I just thought you needed help getting out of being hit on.” You shrug your shoulders, still refusing to meet his glare. Your smile fades slowly.

“I wasn’t being hit on, dumbass. She was asking for directions because she’s new around here and then started asking for recommendations.” Megumi’s glare feels red-hot against your face. Or was it the embarrassed flush that comes with being so completely wrong?

“In my defense, Nobara and Yuji-“

“I’m sure they said something dumb. I just can’t believe you would listen. And why does it matter if I’m having a good time or not?”

“Why wouldn’t I?”

“You didn’t answer my question.“ You narrow your eyes down to your sneakers that you found yourself staring at instead of what was right in front of you.

“Just forget it.” You throw your hands up in the air and turn to leave.

Megumi mutters your name, soft. Low. Curious.

“Were you... jealous?”

“Pfft, jealous?? Of what?” You throw a glare over your shoulder as you walk, only to have your steps falter at the look in Megumi’s eyes. What was that?

“I don’t know. You tell me.” He mumbles, taking a few steps closer to you.

“There’s nothing to be jealous about.” You face him again, folding your arms across your chest in defiance.

“You’re right, there’s nothing to be jealous about.” He agrees. He takes another step to you, leaving about 4 feet between you two.

“I love you, so. Why would I want anyone else.” He mumbles under his breath, rubbing the back of his neck with one of his hands as he looks away awkwardly.

 “Yeah. I mean, you do kinda suc- what? What did you say?” Your arms fall to your sides as you attempt to process what he just said.

“Why would I want anyone else?” Megumi repeats, this time louder.

“No, the other part.” Your heart feels like it’s about to beat out of your chest. You will it to calm down as the blood pumping in your ears makes it hard to hear.

“I said I love you.” He looks up at you, dark blue eyes boring into yours. Sincerity mixed in with apprehension reflects back at you.

“I- Megumi. That’s-“ You stutter. You bite the inside of your cheek nervously.

“You don’t have to say anything. I just thought you should know so I don’t freak you out like that again.” He starts to turn away, but you close the gap and wrap your fingers around his wrist to stop him.

“Megumi, wait.” He plants his feet but doesn’t turn to face you.

“Since when?” You continue.

“Since what?”

“How long have you loved me?”

There’s a deafening silence as you wait for his response. A couple of cars pass by – the rush of air blowing your hair every which way. Slowly, Megumi rounds on you. He eyes you with anxiety, a signature downturn of his lips ever present. His wrist is still enclosed in your grasp.

“Since the end of our first year.” He mumbles.

“That long?” Your eyes are wide in shock as you process how long that had really been. That would make it a little less than 3 years that he’s liked you. No, not liked. Loved. And currently still.

“Why haven’t you said anything?” It’s your turn to frown back, lips pursed in a small pout.

“There was never a good time. It’s hard when we’re always on the verge of being murdered.” He says dryly with an eye roll.

“That’s a fair point, I suppose.” You laugh at that. You all rarely get a break from world ending obstacles. You both stare at each other, the tiny bit of tension from earlier now quashed.  

“Hey, ‘Gumi.” You whisper, closing the small space between you and him and continuing, “I love you too.” You lean in and kiss him delicately on the cheek, noting the softness of his skin against your lips. “Let them get their own food. I want you all to myself this time.” You release your grip from his wrist and place your hand into his, closing your fingers and squeezing. Before he can say anything, you whisk him away and towards your favorite restaurant.

so as someone who is only on chapter one of omori and is obsessed with it here are my thoughts as a new member of the fandom

bear in mind that i haven’t finished the game. i only just got to that one creepy forest place? like the one after the spiders? please don’t spoil!!

but spoilers for everything before that below

1) I HATE BASIL. he’s such a stupid little punk. “uwu im so smol and helpless and i always get bullied and i’m so sweet and innocent” I JUST KNOW THAT FUCKER IS HIDING SOMETHING. everytime i end back in that stupid white room it’s because HES DOING SOME SUSSY SHIT. i also just hate him and everything about him and i know for a damn fact that he’s hiding something horrible behind that sweet little smile and he thinks he’s tricking me but he’s NOT I KNOW HIS GAME.

anyway.

2) i literally cannot decide on a favorite character. i have a least favorite, that’s pretty obvious, but when it comes to a favorite im torn. i LOVE omori, aubrey, kel, and hero all the same! i love mari too but i’m a little salty against her because all her hints for the quests are severely unhelpful 😭 but i still love her tho. i just love the main four so so much and i physically cant choose who i like better. poor little aubrey seems so scared and alone when she has the pink hair and she’s so kind in the little space world thing. hero is a sweetheart and i can’t wait to meet him in the colorful world where i’m moving or whatever. and kel is literally so me 😂 it’s not even funny he just does whatever the fuck he wants and that deserves some respect on his name. and omori is a kickass main character who has a cool thing going for him. but these four characters are sooo well crafted and i love how they work together! it’s a great dynamic balance!

3) i’m either a really bad gamer or the game is super long. i finished the prologue in like seven hours. it took SO LONG. i’m not used to indie games taking that long to play considering that i got through all of undertale in like 10-12 hours my first time. it’s awesome! i love finding all the secrets and talking to all the npcs but DAMNNN.

4) this game has so. much. detail. it’s insane. like the sheer amount of mini games and tiny pockets of lore. it’s like higher than undertale level and i don’t mean to keep going back to undertale but i see a lot of similarities in the game style. i also totally got sucked into playing like 30 rounds of blackjack on omoris computer. it was cool af.

5) the fighting mechanics are super hard. maybe i just suck at strategy but i am so bad at the fights that i just run away whenever i have the opportunity 😭 it’s a problem. i also have no clue how the happy sad angry shit works, i just make omori sad so stab has an attack boost and make aubrey angry so headbutt has an attack boost but other than that i don’t really use it at all and i don’t understand it. maybe that’s why it took me literally 10 tries to get past space ex boyfriend? it’s really fun i just think it’s supposed to be easier than it is and i just missed a memo on strategy.

6) i really love the message so far. the way that mental health is portrayed as something that’s a never ending journey. omori doesn’t just breathe and then everything’s okay, the game highlights realistic coping strategies and makes things like depression, anxiety, and phobias to understandable for any audience through a very creative medium: an indie video game. it’s genius. and i just love how it’s been approached so far, it’s very inspiring!

7) i’m terrified that this fandom is gonna make me mad, i swear to god if i just walk in and see a bunch of basil stan’s i’m turning and walking back out 💀 i mean okay maybe i’ll like basil better later but chances for that seem very low right now. my sister told me that apparently he went through some trauma thing? womp womp don’t care he’s an annoying mf who keeps taking me back to that boring white room where i stab myself, he’s a party pooper and i want a tornado to blow his dumb little flower house down.

Ace, I have to thank you for introducing me to the Reviver series! I'm having such a great time reading it. I doubt I'd ever have discovered it otherwise.

I'm almost done with book two now and I'm not sure I've ever loved a book character as much as I love Jonah! I relate so much to his introversion. He's just such a lovely character, so sweet and sensitive and the fact that he is a cat lover too?  And I love how he's not afraid to express his emotions. That's nice to see with a male character. And I adore his friendship with Never. Seriously guys, if you haven't read it already you totally should. It's like non stop whump. The characters really go through it both physically and emotionally.  

I'd love to see this get adapted (then again if they casted someone I didn't like as Jonah I'd be too bitter about it 😂).

Ahhh!! I'm so glad people are reading Reviver and liking it!! I've spent so long with no one having heard of it and my love of Jonah Miller had nowhere to go lol. Isn't he just the best!! He's perfect for this community. He's kind and funny and smart and introverted and a cat lover and gets the shit kicked out of him all the time. Ugh I just love him so much. I'm so so happy you do too!! And yes his friendship with Never is amazing and one of my favorite things. They're so different but care about each other so much. It's amazing.

*gasps* OOOOH it would make such a cool tv series!!!!!! I NEED IT!!!! (but also yes to the casting lol. I don't know who I'd want but yeah it's gotta be perfect)

1. 7 Days before Valentine (1/12 WeTV)

Hm... This was not what I expected. The acting was a little bit over the top. I don't know if I can stand Sunshine. The feeling this first episode gave me was kinda off. I don't know. Right now I don't know if I want to keep watching it.

2. Bake me please (2/6 on Gaga)

This series is so good! I really like Ohm and Guide together. Guide is such a sunshine and I like his character! This series deals with a lot of baking and childhood trauma and a sunshine and grumpy main couple and I love it!

3. Boys Like Boys (8/10 on Gaga)

Okay, I am officially invested! The story of eight taiwanese men who are on the search for love. It is messy and funny and of course I have my favorites! I wish I had waited for the show to finish, because then I could have watched the final and know if I can keep my hopes up or not... And there are twists and turns and some butterflies and I can't wait for the next episode.

4. Cooking Crush (1/12 on Youtube)

I have to admit beside Not Me, I am not the biggest fan of OffGun. Their slapstick humour is just not mine. I can't get the right feeling for this series right now. I will wait and see how it turns out with more episodes...

5. Last Twilight (3/12 on Youtube)

I got fucking emotional when Mhok read from The Little Prince and they had this whole big conversation through the book and I am in tears just thinking about it. The Little Prince is very special for me.

6. Pit Babe (2/13 on Youtube)

Ladies and Gentlemen! We have an Omegaverse! I am still in shock! I usually don't dive into the omegaverse, but I did read some webtoons. I am curious how they'll play it out. The first episode... I don't understand shit! I have no clue, what is going on. There are intrigues going on and I don't trust Charlie at the moment. But I couldn't care less because: Pavel! He could just sit there or walk in his driver's uniform and I would be happy!

7. Playboyy (3/14 on Gaga)

I am intrigued! I needed to call my best friend and tell her about what I have seen. Not just the amount of sex and masturbation and wet dreams, but the way it is filmed. I am intruígued! It looks like a romantic dream combined with porn. And I am looking forward to next week and the weeks to come, because it is so interesting!

8. The Sign (1/12 on Youtube)

I am already in love with this series! Mystical elements, a good chemistry between the actors, some fighting, naked men... What else could I wish for... Oh yeah, and an accidental kiss 😂 But I still enjoyed it so much! And I can't wait fot next week!

9. Twins (4/12 on Gaga)

I don't know what it is. The story is... nothing special. The acting is okayish. Sprite's/Zee's facial expression need some time to get used to. And yet, I like this show! It is one of my most anticipated watches of the week. I like First and I LOVE enemies to lovers 😅 It is one of my weak spots!

Series

1. I feel you linger in the air (12/12 on Gaga)

This is one of my favorite series from this year, if not the best one! It is such a good and well written story about love and building a home, trusting in love and people again, fight against the rules and love the people who deserve your love. I am not as heartbroken than I thought, but I miss them already, like five minutes after it ended. Jom and Yai's love is a love that can overcome all kinds of barriers like time and I love that so much! I love this series so so much! And they confirmed a second season? Now I am afraid and excited? A true 10 out of 10!

2. Dangerous Romance (12/12 on Youtube)

I like Perth and Chimon together, even though their characters can be a little bit cheesy or bromancy. Over all I liked the series, even though I was searching for the danger in the romance. It lost a litle bit of the tension in its second half. Not a bad series, but also nothing special. A solid 7 out of 10.

3. Kimi to Nara Koi wo Shite Mite mo / If it's with you (5/5 on Gaga)

It is sweet and has the typical japanese vibe, you know? The crickets and circades are very much present in the the background and it feels kind of cosy. My japanese vibe. The story itself is sweet. I like the fact that the Amane is open and sure about his sexuality, even though he has experienced homophobia and tries to hide behind a smiling mask. This is a really wholesome watch for the coming darker days. I gave it a 9 out of 10.

4. Kiseki: Dear to me (12/13 on Viki and Gaga)

Okay, this series started strong for me and got really messy and lame in the second half... Well, way before this to be honest. The only reason I was watching in the end were Ai Di and Chen Yi. Their relationship was such a great add up to this mess. Yes, it was messy and I wish they would have communicated earlier, but I love their tenderness and their love in the end. The main couple... I really couldn't care less in the end. And the story was... not that interesting and a little bit confusing at times. Overall an 7,5 out of 10 and that's because of Ai Di and Cen Yi.

5. You are mine (10/10 on Viki and Gaga)

The lovestory between a very demanding chef, who terrorise his employees and his easygoing new male secretary who can give good massages. And the lack of communication is really bothering me at this point. Instead of just going after your secretary, perhaps try and talk to him about your feelings? Argh... Okay, the last episode was just a display of affection and fluff and it was really cute. But it couldn't help a bad series to become a good one. They can kiss, yes, but overall it was not that good. So just a 5,5 out of 10 for me.

6. A Breeze Of Love (8/8 on iQiyi)

I love this one! It is short and cute and for once I understand the problem. The execution was a little whacky, but hey, I really don't care because it was just that cute! The two mains have very good chemistry and are believable. And I am totally in love with them. It has sport and kind of enemies to lovers so checks for me and it is korean. Yeah, that is definitely worth a watch and I guess I will rewatch it from time to time, whenever I need something wholesome and cute. A 10 out of 10 for me.

7. One Room Angel (6/6 on Gaga)

It started out as a very depressing series. It kept this feeling through the whole show, but it never said, that it has to be like that forever. There were always hints, that life can get better. That you are enough and that you are worth it, worth of living, worth of loving and worth of being loved. I mean it ended with this line: I received and was able to give. Even someone like me had something I can do. So probably, life isn't so bad." And that was the point where I lost it completely. A solid 8 out of 10 for me.

Movie

1. Aki wa Haru to Gohan wo Tabetai

This one is a sweet and quiet movie. Well the character Aki is not that quiet, but in this movie there is not that much drama or angst. It is stacked with food and I got so hungry watching it! The food really looks delicious! It is not a bromance. You definitely can see that these two love each other and there are so many hints, that they want to spend the rest of their lives together. And as far as I know there should be a second movie. Fingers crossed! For me a solid 7,5 out of 10

7. How did you decide what characters would narrate the fic?

Honestly most of the time the decision is made for me haha. Like when I get an idea of a scene it's usually through the eyes of a specific character, and this time it was Patroclus so I went with him. I always love looking at Achilles through his eyes, and this AU is so satisfying for that because Achilles is such a weird little dude in it. But the fic will feature POVs from other characters as well, including Achilles and Thetis! So I'm really eager to get into those.

15. Talk about the characters' struggles and how you decided on those

Once again I'll be honest: I don't usually decide shit 😂🤣 Most of the time the struggles come up as I'm writing and fleshing out the story. As Fate Would Have It in particular was supposed to be something like 3-4 chapters long, with the first chapter covering their first meeting in Phthia and then a sort of time jump to Pelion. But the moment I started writing, Patroclus was soooo pissed off and frustrated and bitter that he had been chosen as therapon so I simply had to stick around and see *why* he's like that ahah. One of my favouriteeee parts of TSOA is how bitter and angry Patroclus is at the very beginning when they meet, how envious he is of Achilles' station, the little games they play trying to catch each other's eye in the dining hall but not actually talking to each other, and then how Pat snaps at Achilles when he finds him in the storage room. He's like a little feral cat and I absolutely ADORE that. I really wanted to play around with a Patroclus that is older and angrier and with a bigger chip on his shoulder, and how that would influence their relationship and their attraction until his anger thawed a little.

As for Achilles, I always love leaning into his strangeness and I wanted to do that even harder in this AU. He's just a weird little fish boy who doesn't know how the world really works because he's been so sheltered from it, who spends way too much time with his momma and his aunties and can't quite grasp how humans interact with each other, who desperately wants a connection but doesn't really know how to go about it, who tries SO hard to make his crush like him but fails spectacularly at it all the time (I like seeing them both suffer ahaha). Also imagine being an omega and having to juggle a heat in the middle of all those existing struggles, like he’s at his limit!!

Thoughts on TO S1/EP1

So, I finally went down the rabbit hole and decided to watch The Originals. Pray for me. 😂

Here are my thoughts:

Magical Baby Plot:

This is literally a forced loophole—thanks, but no thanks. 🙅🏻‍♀️ Klaus being lured back to NOLA with the news that Hayley is pregnant with his magical baby. Is just not the biz. While the baby plot is obviously a significant driving force for the narrative, it seems implausible that Klaus, a vampire for over 1000 years, could father a child. Fuck outta here with that shit.

Klaus:

Will forever be my baby. There's no if's, and's or but's. He's still his little villainous self, and I'm here for it. This will NEVER change.

Elijah:

This man will obviously go through hell and highwater for his brother, but he needs to know when to give up. Elijah searching for his 1000+ year old baby brother will never not be funny to me. He’s the Steve Harrington of the TVDU (fight me on it). We all know that his ass will be daggered in the next episode without fail. He obviously can't seem to comprehend that while Klaus loves his family he also sees them as a weakness, and he would rather put his bro to sleep than lose him to a dumb baby plot twist.

Rebekah:

My girl Beks is currently angry at Klaus and refuses to help Elijah find him, which in all honesty, her ire is well deserved. She's been treated like shit for ages. It was about time she stood up for herself. 👏👏👏

Marcel:

I love that they gave Klaus a long lost adopted son! Now THIS is a plot twist. He was believed to be dead and rotting somewhere, but my man is now the king of NOLA and rules the city with an iron fist who has total control over every supernatural creature within it. He’s shaping up to be my favorite out of all the new characters introduced so far.  He’s also fineeeeee as fuck! 😋

Quarter Witches:

They’re okay so far, but honestly, they could have gotten pretty far if they had just let Klaus and Elijah kill Marcel/Hayley right off the bat. Instead of following a bunch of idiotic rules. It was smart of them to link Sophie and Hayley, though. It gave them leverage with The Originals, which is what they wanted. Still deciding if I like them or not.

Camille:

I’m trying to give her a chance, but it’s a feat let me tell you. I didn’t think she would break out the psychology card so quickly, tbh. I’ll look past it, for now. I can say that she does have a teeny bit of chemistry with Elijah…I really liked their 1st scene together. It looks like they'd be a good match.

Quick question: I thought Camille was still studying to become a psychologist? But, she mentions that she already has a grad degree in this episode. Can someone clear this up for me?

Davina: 

Seems pretty cool. I want to learn more about her and what she can do. Let's see where they take her character. Since we all know that having strong female characters on these shows is not something that the writers really like. 

Overall, given Klaus' brutal and decisive nature, it's surprising that he didn't eliminate all threats immediately to take control of the city. But, I can also see why he wouldn't as he sees the potential the city he once lived in still has. Moreover, I'm a little annoyed at Elijah during this episode. In all honesty, it's Elijah's fault that they ended up in the mess that follows. Elijah sees the baby as a way to redeem Klaus, but it feels unrealistic to force Klaus into a role he’s never desired. Klaus has always craved power, loyalty, and family, but not necessarily a baby. This dream seems more in line with Elijah’s personality, who has always exhibited gentlemanly and family-oriented behavior. Though I still love Elijah, he really irked my nerves in this first episode. I will say that I'm loving the more in-depth look into the complex sibling relationships that we didn’t get enough of on TVD. On another note, I think it would have been a good plot twist to try and lure Klaus to NOLA by using Marcel as a pawn somehow instead of a baby. You can clearly see that he still cares for him in his own twisted way. I hope we get to see more of their dynamic as the show goes on.
