#i just have a lot of love for companions in video games (like skyrim is my fave example of this!!)

Is echoes of wisdom good?? No
Did they treat my girl Zelda right as a protagonist?? Yes
Are people responding well to it?? Mixed
Hope this helps
(Anon because god forbid I publically post an opinion on a nintendo game)
Lol god I felt that about not posting a opinion (especially if it's not raving praise!!) on a Nintendo game publicly lol. I won't tag this so as to not start shit for myself 🤣
I am curious why you don't think it's good tho? Is it like the gameplay itself is rough? The plots meh? And hey, no wrong answers with me lol. I genuinely just really like Zelda and hearing people's opinions, even if they're negative cuz even if I don't agree right away, it helps me to look at videogames like zelda more critically and not just eyes shining due to it being a special interest of mine hah. (Arin Hanson of game grumps opinions on Ocarina of time forever changed how I view Zelda games! Cuz he's totally right for the most part, but god I HATED his opinions at first!!)
I have been seeing some dislike/hate over the art style, but Im not surprised by that tbh. People hated Wind Waker when it came out cuz they wanted the edgier link that was teased (and I think then inspired TP if I remember my lore properly lol), people hated on link between worlds and links awakening remake and just yeah lol. As soon as I saw the style I've been worried that people would write it off entirely cuz the art style, but since it's out now I'm curious cuz I've heard some meh over the UI elements and the art style, but I haven't had enough time to rifle through the tags very much. So I'm curious what else we're feeling meh about lol! Or what we love! I like hearing people's experiences with it.
Anyway anon, feel free to send another anon if you wanna share more thoughts, feel free to not respond if you don't wanna! Judgement free zone with me lol but I hear ya about the rest of tumblr/the internet 😭

Same BG3-> dragon age anon: you said you liked to talk about it last time so please give me your full opinion if you are passionate🫶🏽 many thanks
hello anon!
this is a very open-ended, and dangerous question! to be honest, there is a lot to dismantle and unpick about Dragon Age until there's nothing left to enjoy (I actually love critiquing it though, jokes on them I love to be a hater). But! If I'm focusing on the positives!
What Dragon Age is to me, is 'what I wanted skyrim to be when I played it'. This is no shade on Skyrim, it's just that that was the first fantasy rpg I ever tried, and I'm just not a sandbox girlie. I got increasingly frustrated with Skyrim, claiming I wanted to feel like I'd impacted the world and that my decisions had consequences. What I wanted, in hindsight, was D&D, but my friend turned to me and said 'have you played dragon age?' and thus a mental illness was born.
I honestly think BG3 knowingly borrowed many of the things Dragon Age is still loved by its fandom for. I also think it did a lot of them better, simply through the grace of being 10 years newer than Inquisition (and not being owned by EA!) But for me, the split between 'adventuring' and 'home space cutscenes', the focus on companion quests, relationships based in approval, and romances are all things that are done in a clear understanding of what made Dragon Age so popular. BG3's endings for each companion are more starkly contrasted and nuanced, but I liked playing Dragon Age and seeing my games altered depending on my choices. Again, here I'm not saying Dragon Age is perfect! I think the BG3 romances are more solid across the board compared to Dragon Age, and the only game that I think has a comparative '100% hot' rate is Dragon Age Origins. But the reason there's such a huge crossover in the fan bases is bc Dragon Age did a lot of it first! Bioware as a developer is heralded in academic video game criticism for being one of the first studios to encourage parasocial relationships with its fictional characters, and to use affective relationships with these figures as a way of deepening your immersion and the perceived 'realism' of a videogame world.
My other favourite thing about Dragon Age is it's buckwild wizard politics! Mages (in the first three games) are placed in 'circles', which are essentially magic school prisons bc mages are too dangerous to be out in society. The tensions surrounding 'mage rights' are the subject to many memes in the fandom, but I think it's genuinely one of the most interesting parts of the world that runs through all 3 games. The concept of the Circles really appeals to the part of me that occasionally falls prey to Dark Academia (and one of my fave authors NK Jemisin agrees with me, she used them as one of her inspirations for her award winning series The Broken Earth!)
I think the reason I write fanfic primarily for videogames is because the nature of gaming code and the way videogames work as texts means there is always gaps left by the slightly utilitarian approach to storytelling (dialogue options you wish you could change, choices you wish you could make, parts of the world you wish you could explore more directly). My first fic ever (!) was a Dragon Age fic about the Rite of Tranquility, an aspect of the world that is often quite plot relevant but then never really dug into bc of who the protagonists of each game are, where mages are cut off from the dream realm that gives them their magic forcibly, like a cauterised wound. I really loved this element of the story as a fantasy device, and I daydreamed about how that experience would impact an individual... 3 years later, covid hit, and a fic was born!
so yeah! I just think dragon age is neat! and in typical-me fashion, I like the way its wizards work :)

So while I'm fucking around with my skyrim baldurs gate companions game, I also decided to do a more in-depth Durge playthrough, and play around with the companions looks. So here's how everyone looks so far!
Tumblr media
First off, my peepaw Durge, Cain! I love him so much! While I played with him a bit before and romance Lae'zel, I'm debating on if I want to do that again. Guess I'm going with the flow on him to see who he ends up with.
I really need to draw him at some point. I love the story I built for him, and his personality, which I imagine is very much like Kratos's from God of War; mostly silent and gruff, but knows when he is needed emotionally, and gives great advice on combat!
(Everyone else is below the cut!)
Tumblr media
Astarion is one I really just played around with. I knew I wanted to make him a Tiefling, but that was it. Still, I'm super happy with how he turned out. I'm even warming up to him a bit this playthrough!
Tumblr media
I'll do Shadowheart next as she is also a character I really don't care for. But maybe I'm shallow, cause this playthrough I'm paying more attention to her and starting to warm up to her character.
I really love the purple and black on her. I also ADORE the tear looking scars on her face.
I'm not sure how the mod I'm using reacts to act 3 Shadowheart, but hopefully I can remember what faces and such I used on her so I can keep her looking mostly the same with just a few changes.
Tumblr media
For Gale I really wanted to give him a scrawny wizard man look, and I'm just really happy with it. I don't think I have much to say about him. Just, I really like how he turned out.
Tumblr media
I really had no idea what I wanted to do for Karlach, but I'm happy in the end. At first I just was going for a red color look. But after finding the horns that glow, I thought giving her the fire color palette with the orange would be super cool. And it is!
Tumblr media
Honestly with Lae'zel, after turning her into Serana in my other playthrough, I decided I wanted to make her more goth. Kinda like Gale, I don't have too much to say, I'm just happy how she turned out!
Tumblr media
And lastly Wyll, my boy! I mainly knew I wanted to use these horns. But other than that I wanted to play around with his looks. I tired to download a mod that added more dreadlock hairstyles, but for some reason it didn't work (a lot of my hair mods didn't,) but I decided to just go with the og dreadlock hairstyle. Which, I'm still very happy with! I love Wyll's looks so much, and it breaks my heart knowing Cain wouldn't want to romance Wyll and I can't romance with him. Big sad!
As I play more through this game I may post more screenshots or videos. But we'll see. I've been playing for the past six hours at least, and now I must sleep!

New Skyrim playthrough starting with Irem at-Tavani who is a Redguard monster-hunting alchemist from Skaven. I love her but this post is actually bc my new favorite follower is also her husband,
Val Serano
Tumblr media
I am being so serious right now, go play this mod.
Tumblr media
Gushing about Val and more screenshots under the cut
Tumblr media
So the thing I really like about Val as a follower is that he is here for the journey. He does of course have a fully fleshed-out story and personal quests but what I really love is I don't feel like I'm dragging him along to help me with my adventures, he's coming along bc he wants to be in on the adventure too (and, more importantly, the pay out,) I don't know if this feeling is an amalgam of how many lines he has (he has SO many lines reacting to quests) or his personality (relic hunter, knowledge seeker, arcane trickster on the lookout for that next big find that'll have us rolling in septims) but he doesn't just feel like a 'follower', he feels like a companion. The only other custom voiced follower I've really gotten that feeling with has been Lucien, and with how good that mod is I think that's a compliment that speaks for itself.
Tumblr media
His personal quests are also really good and work so well with Elder Scrolls lore. I don't want to get into details bc spoilers but seriously, it's good food.
Tumblr media
And all that is an aside from the romance, which is also excellent. I'm not roleplaying Irem as ace but I do love seeing some good middle-of-the-road options for ace people like myself who are not sex-averse and love a good fade-to-black. When I first started playing the mod I kept thinking to myself that Val reminded me of characters like Han Solo or Atton Rand (if Atton was way more charming and the writers didn't use him as a punching bag) The whole flirty reformed pirate with a heart of gold thing is ridiculously up my alley. The mod encourages roleplaying and has three paths to romance -- I went with the bickering-to-lovers path because I love a Pride and Prejudice plot and it fits Irem's character.
Tumblr media
While your path is locked in at a certain point, you still get dialogue options, which is nice for the relationship I imagine with these two: one which starts contentious and softens over time. An issue I've had with other video game romances is that it treats one selected trait as your whole character (when they even give you the option to roleplay at all). I love that this doesn't see you being a sarcastic bitch 20 times and decide your whole personality is sarcastic bitch. I have layers ok sometimes I'm a sarcastic bitch who cries at the end of tangled
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So yeah. The writing is great. The voice acting is great. The thought put into the character and the world-building is incredible. The romance is easily the best I've played in Skyrim (which. ok. low bar but the compliment stands.) tbh I only downloaded him originally because I had a skyrim itch and the Kaidan Revoiced mod isn't out yet, but I have been simply Floored.
Tumblr media
Anyways mostly I am writing this because hurricane Milton knocked my home on its ass for a week and a half and I had a lot of electronic-less time to philosophize about how far modding has come and to write fanfiction. But also I'm just banging pots on my small corner of the internet to bring more attention to this excellent piece of work.
Tumblr media
the fanfiction bit isn't a joke does anyone know how mod authors feel about cvf fanfic it feels weird to me like I'm playing with someone elses toys--

What if... they played Fallout?
So, a thing came across my dash showing off Wolfwood's amazing carrying capacity and it led to me joking about what if Wolfwood were in Skyrim? Honestly, Fallout is more like their world and I've given thought to how the characters of Trigun would play the Fallout games - whether they were caught in a crossover that put them in a world even more bleak than the one they live in or they...discovered video games and played. (This accounts for characters making play-characters that actually reflect themselves if latter. I mean, I'm a weakling who loves to play a heavy-melee and sometimes big guns characters... I doubt I'd be able to lift a sledgehammer with ease in real life, but my motto in game is "Super Sledges don't run out of ammo!") Vash - Small Arms specialist. High agility and perception. Uses V.A.T.S. constantly (I think hey may canonically have some kind of Plant-inborn version of V.A.T.S!) Downs more Nuka-Cola Quantum that that Petrovita-lady. Luck stat is in the toilet. Is one of those "Hold my beer, Bethesda!" pacifist-challenge players. Despite a low luck stat, he has the Mysterious Stranger perk for whatever reason. It's Wolfwood. The Mysterious Stranger is Wolfwood and Vash gets P.O.ed when he saves Vash's life by killing a tough opponent. Meryl - Small Arms specialist. High intelligence. High Charisma. Takes on a lot of the sidequests that let you explore the world and find out little things about it. Definitely there for the lore. Stampede version Meryl is doing ALL of Piper Wright's quests and will take her as a main companion. Wolfwood - Big Guns. Uses V.A.T.S. sometimes, but prefers a simple target and rapid-fire. High medical skill / all the Medical-related perks. Hoards and owns ALL the Stimpaks. Milly - Big Guns. Carries a Mini-Gun because it reminds her of her stungun. "I had to kill those Supermutants, Mr. Vash, it's just a game! Don't worry about it!" Likes all of the good karma quests were she gets to help people. Would probably enjoy Fallout 4's DLC Striker (the gun that shoots bowling balls). Likes anything with abnormal ammo. Elendira the Crimsonail - Concentrates on doing all of the little quests / getting all of the blueprints for building the Railroad Gun and hoards every railroad spike she finds along the way. Uses the Railroad Gun exclusively. Millions Knives - Melee specialist. Starts out with things like switchblades, graduates to swords as soon as possible. Isn't much for the sledgehammers, but will take a baseball bat and mod it to have razor blades / Bladed Swatter. A murder-hobo who slaughters everything, especially every human he comes across, settler and raider alike. Doesn't do any main quests, just kills stuff. Probably feels some kind of kinship to one of the non-human or left-of-human downtrodden races, like the robots or synths. Ghouls are probably still too human for him to like. Legato Bluesummers - Being more of a telepath than heavy on weapons, I imagine him finding that Vault in the Fallout 4 DLC you can run or downloading Fallout Shelter and running a Vault - in the most evil way possible. Just horrible manipulation on the human residents to torture them and see how they tick.

Markarth, Throat of the World & Sovngarde?
YAYYY hi bestie (beloved follower)
Markarth - If you could rewrite one questline in Skyrim, which would it be?
oh boy do i have OPINIONS. if i could rewrite on questline in skyrim i would rewrite the companions questline to Not Be The Companions
sorry. racist werewolves aside, i think i agree w u that it would be the dark brotherhood, but i’ve got different ideas. idgaf abt astrid and cicero and the night mother i want oblivion back. the oblivion dark brotherhood questline is my favorite fucking questline in any video game, i swear to god. your first quest is to go sneak aboard a pirate ship?? you dive into the ocean to escape?? you can murder a guy by dropping his stuffed minotaur head or whatever tf that taxidermy is on him?? wildly sprinting away from bruma so his guard doesn’t catch you and you still get the bonus?? THE MURDER MYSTERY DINNER PARTY??????
i’m sorry i just love oblivion so so so much. i would try and return some of that whimsy to the dark brotherhood. i mean, yeah, i guess we can keep the whole betrayal thing, but i never liked the night mother’s portrayal and just am not fond of any of the existing npcs there. also, including an assassination of the emperor was fucking stupid, i hate how tes tries to make it canon that your character is simultaneously the gods’ greatest gift to nirn and also sithis himself (what’s the tes equivalent of the devil)
actually speaking of stupid canonical statuses i would rewrite the civil war questline to also not exist. fuck it the dragonborn is just a messenger now. the war doesn’t have a finish within the game, we leave it at a standstill. like i said i have Opinions
Throat of the World - How do you feel about “Season Unending”?
to be truthful with you beloved follower i didn’t remember what this quest was. in recent times i haven’t even gotten to diplomatic immunity. i always lose interest before i get that far LMFAO. that being said when i remembered what it was i’m vaguely fond of it. i think having a meeting where you just have to sit down and debate shit is fun. don’t remember if it translates very well into a video game. love the idea of the dragonborn sitting there simmering with rage while everyone insults each other. think it’s really stupid that everyone somehow safely made the climb up the 7000 steps at the same time without guards carriages horses or food. you’re telling me elenwen hiked that shit?
Sovngarde - How would your Last Dragonborn celebrate after the battle with Alduin, or would they celebrate at all?
OOF… you’ve hit me with the one oc question. i love to discuss my Opinions (there’s lots of them) but ocs require more thoughts. hm…
azug would celebrate because i think lucien would go hog wild about his friend defeating alduin and erik is just down to party. where the fuck do you go after coming back from skuldafn? how do you come back? do you just fast travel? summon odahviing again? it’s been so long i don’t remember. i’ll just assume you summon odahviing again and he deposits you back in dragonsreach, in which case, jarl balgruuf would probably want to have a feast or something anyway. but azug and the crew would go celebrating on their own after, and, tbh, knowing azug, would probably keep celebrating for a long time after. like, bar hopping in every city for the next year (or until whatever inevitable tragedy happens next for them to help with)
megana is much more reserved. she would enjoy the feast but she doesn’t really. have close friends. at least not yet, i haven’t finished the game with her so idk. she also doesn’t live in whiterun like azug does (well, technically azug lives outside in tundra homestead) so i think she might have less casual friends there. all that being said, i don’t think she would celebrate beyond agreeing to whatever celebrations are held for her, and even then she would quickly find a limit to what she could stand to attend. she’s more of a private person; she’d rather have a few drinks with the others at the college of winterhold (hey i forgot she was gonna do that quest) or relax with thistle in myrwatch than be rowdy all across skyrim like azug
sadly those r the only two i can answer for, cirendil exists in my mind palace but i haven’t played her at all so i don’t have a good grasp of her character or development. friki is… technically a dragonborn because the randomizer feature in the alternate start mod i’m using decided she would be, and because i think it’s funny to imagine her going around stealing shit and not at all being helpful while another dragonborn actually does their job, but she will not be doing the main quests at any point so i don’t bother contemplating her much
thank u for asking!!! this one was super fun to consider <3

Mass Effect Trilogy tag game
Tagged by @whiskynorocks
I am a fan since… 2020. When the quarantine hit, I decided to finally play all the video games I’ve heard about but haven’t played before: Gears of War, Mass Effect, Fable, Borderlands... Okay, I didn’t get into all of them, but some were good.
Favorite game of the series: [CONTROVERSIAL] 3. When you take away the ending, it’s a solid game with a lot of cute and funny moments between the crew. There’s no more weird randos like in ME2, just a slightly modified crew of my best friends from 1. Everyone is friends and I finally have the romance I want.
MaleShep or FemShep? Femshep. My first playthrough was as M!Shep, but then I googled Garrus and the second I read about the romance I yeeted myself to replay everything as Femshep... Hadn’t expected to fall in love with her so much. Jennifer Hale really gave a 11/10 performance there.
Earthborn, Colonist or Spacer? Spacer.
Paragon or Renegade? Paragon
Biotics or Tech? Tech all the way!
Favorite class: Infiltrator. I always play as a sniper, in every game with class choices. (Why yes, I am an archer is Skyrim, how did you know?)
Favorite companion: Garrus, but that’s kind of obvious. I also have a strong love for Ashley, Tali, Legion, and Grunt. And Wrex. And Jack. Okay, I love everyone. All of them. Even the ones I love the least I still love.
Least favorite companion: Kaidan, because I literally not once had a playthrough where he survives. I have literally 0 emotional attachment to him. If I had to choose from characters I do know, I guess maybe Vega. You know, new guy.
My squad selection: Garrus+Ashley for ME1, Garrus+whoever’s loyalty mission it is for 2, Legion+Grunt for Collector Base, Garrus+Ashley for ME3 because bless ME3 for giving me back my OG dream team
Favorite in-game romance: Have you seen my blog?
Other pairings I like: Tali/Reegar, Liara/Javik, Nihlus/Saren. Yes I copied this from @whiskynorocks but they got it 100% right.
Favorite NPC: Lorik Qui’in, by a loooooong shot. Anderson, Nihlus, Victus.
Favorite antagonist: Saren! Fuck, I love Saren so much, he was genuinely one of the coolest villains ever
Favorite mission: Hey what the fuck, I don’t even remember which
Favorite loyalty mission: Uhhhhh I have no clue, they’re all so good. Probably Tali’s, I get to play detective. Samara’s is also great. For the same reason.
Favorite DLC: Citadel, obviously. Garrus dragging Shepard to the danceflor by force is worth any price.
Control, Synthesis or Destroy? Lmao none, I pick Refuse every damn time. Breaks my heart, but then again so do all of those ridiculous choices and all of them are bad so in the end does it matter if we all know that the true ending was the Reapers all exploded and Shepard survived and the geth and the mass relays were not destroyed and everyone got married and retired and had a happy life right?????????
Favorite weapon: The Black Widow. Obviously.
Favorite place: I love the Citadel, especially in ME1. Like, that’s my home.
A quote I like: “I won’t let fear compromise who I am.” on par with “It's so easy to see the world in black and white. Gray? I don't know what to do with gray.”
I’m tagging: @evvi and @biasedsteam9 my beloved

i saw that ask about you running a d&d campaign, i've just started learning how to dm, do you have any tips or advice for a newbie? i'm using one of the pre-made campaigns but would love to make my own someday!
oh i actually do!!
dming is really fun and one of the hardest creative things i've ever done in my life. i'm also working within a preexisting world (dragon age), though i probably never would again because i actually find it VERY limiting and frustrating given one of the things i'm quite decent at is worldbuilding.
the first thing i would recommend is consuming a lot of media similar to the campaign setting/story. rpg video games are very helpful because they follow a similar kind of structure to tabletop rpg, and can help you organise the way you think about your campaign. one thing i started doing halfway through the campaign, which i WISH i had done from the beginning, was i started to keep a quest journal. i wrote down every "quest" the characters got involved in, and what potential outcomes or separate quests they could lead to. i also keep a running list of important npcs. if you start with these two things, you'll find it much easier to keep tabs on everything that's happening in your campaign. i got this idea mainly from oblivion/skyrim, and here is an example of the main quest entry:
Tumblr media
giving the quests dumb little names is surprisingly helpful in setting the tone i'm trying to create for each quest. i also have other quest sections like side quests, location based quests, companion quests, and quests related directly to each other the player characters backstories. ideas for these quests come from video games, books, tv/films, other d&d campaigns, and mythology. the more media you consume, the more ideas you'll find!
kind of leading on from that is the idea of tone and narrative. this is something i really struggled with to begin with, and something i think you'll only find through trial and error. starting with tone: i personally find combat in d&d to be quite tedious if not done well. i don't use battle maps and mini figurines, i prefer to describe it as best i can, and trust that the players can also visualise it themselves. this is mainly to do with resources, but also because i don't spend a lot of time with combat. it's something i'm trying to get better with, but it's also not something i think is entirely necessary to our campaign. that's because the tone of our campaign is very story focused, and the players rely much more on diplomacy and perception than they do on strength and combat. it was these things i noticed which led me to building a campaign that is ultimately a political thriller/horror, and realising that i think marked a point in the campaign where a lot of things improved dramatically. when it comes to tone: play to your strengths!! tone influences narrative in a major way too. after figuring out how to create suspense and intrigue, it was much easier to place the characters into situations that allowed for more of those moments. creating npcs that fit the tone of your story also help carry the narrative. the first major npc i created was the Big Bad, and she wasn't revealed as a character until very recently. but she was still controlling aspects of the story behind the scenes. one thing i found very helpful was to keep running tabs on npcs that were no longer directly interacting with the players, but still considering what they would be doing on their own, what their motivations would be, how they would be shaping the world too. this is also very valuable for story moments later down the line!
on the more practical side of things, one tip i have is to be honest with your players, and take breaks whenever you need to. i've called off sessions before, and it sucks, but i feel like it's better to give the players a good session later on, then try to rush out a crap session just to make your weekly slot. however i also recommend as much as you are able, keep regular sessions. we are very lucky to be a relatively small group in which 3 of us live in the same house. it was quite easy for us to have weekly sessions, and if you can manage it, i highly recommend it. it will help you keep up with your campaign, and remember where you were at more easily. i find i have a lot of my best ideas directly after a session, and if i wait too long, i will forget most of them.
i have a lot more advice, but this has gotten quite long!! i'm happy to answer any more specific questions, from ambiance playlists to sharing more of my planning documents to creating npcs!! i love dming a lot, and am by no means an expert (or even particularly GOOD) but i am happy to try and help where i can!!!

You ever hated the ending to a game you love so much that you come up with a new one because the original ending pissed you off so much?
@heroes-never-discourse i know you didnt send this but my god does this match up
100% anon, fuck v3's ending
also not a whole video game but. there are so many questlines in skyrim that had such lackluster or just downright bad endings and i hate it
like the thieves guild ending felt so abrupt and disjointed, same with the dark brotherhood questline, there wasnt near enough build up for the climax and then the rest of the line just was so damn rushed
the companions line suffered from the same issues imo
honestly i just have. a lot of criticisms of skyrim lmao even though it's one of my favorite games and a huge comfort thing for me

So I’m noticing that games Ive played are tied to certain emotional states Ive been through in my life.. Like when I was in art school, going through all that shit after being assaulted and feeling not all the way present. (That assault ruined a chance at a perfectly healthy relationship btw, still a bit bitter about that.) I played so much fallout 3. I felt safe there, but horribly horribly alone.
And when I was going through some bullshit in my newer relationship after I moved. I played skyrim a lot and always felt like I was alone despite having companions with me. I also felt alone despite being in a relationship lmao. They literally were lying to me for months and for whatever reason, I stayed with them.
Dragon age was what I played when I thought I was with the love of my life and I got so wrapped up in that relationship that I went to the psych ward. I felt safe until i did not. I had such issues with the alistair romance bc, in my mind, why would i wanna play out my real life betrayals in a game? (Referring to how he dumps you for being an elf if hes made to be king.) Same with fenris and the 10yr break thing. Why would I wanna romance somebody who just up and leaves? (Neglecting the fact that the fictional elf i was dating should have a chance to recover from his trauma too lol.)
Its just interesting to me looking back on it. I dont want to leave my current partner but i honestly wish I will never have to deal with lying and betrayals and backstabbing ever again. I kind of wish I had sworn off relationships a while ago. Being scarred like that and not fully able to trust people Im dating is not fun. It doesnt even feel like it gets better either. Its like I feel normal until something throws me off and Im like, why am I even bothering to try this with someone else.
Also, I dont like trying to escape into a damn video game and STILL not even be able to enjoy it bc it reminds me of my shit relationships.

Thess vs Video Game Romance
Random Googling to identify a place name in Horizon Zero Dawn that I’d tripped over but couldn’t pinpoint to a location ended with me tripping over something that I really didn’t expect. I mean, I probably should have expected the thing, but I did not expect the thing.
Basically, for some reason, asking where “the Cut” is in HZD will get related queries about romances in this game, and more to the point, complaints about there not being any. I also found a top ten list of games that people wish had romances in them, HZD being one of them. Other items on that list included “remaster Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and Fallout 3 to let us have romances”, Final Fantasy XIV, Monster Hunter World (”Because we’re allowed to have a house; why not a spouse?” was the theory) ... and fucking Dark Souls - something about, “Why not a tiny bit of light to shine in the darkness of the world?”
How about because “that’s not the point”?
Now, I like a good video game romance as much as the next person. This is a lot of why I play Bioware games. But let’s be fair here: the romance - not just a particular romance, but the entire concept of romance - needs to fit into the game’s structure from both the narrative and gameplay perspectives, or it’s just going to feel shoehorned in and distract from the game’s themes. Some games just aren’t built to have a romance in them. Does that leave the option for fanfic romance later? Yes. Yes, it does. Like, @galleywinter has an entire fic series sort of thing that covers exactly that, in an AU sort of way. That’s pretty awesome, as it goes - means that the NPC is developed enough to want to have an IC relationship with and that there’s scope within the game to make a character with thoughts and feelings rather than just an avatar to hit things and get loot. But trying to shoehorn an in-game romance like that into the structure of a MMO like World of Warcraft? Nope. The only MMO I’ve seen that’s successfully done in-game NPC romance is, again, Bioware - with Star Wars: The Old Republic. And even that’s kind of kept off to the side somewhat, and is a lot to do with Bioware’s attempt at keeping the single-player experience and the multiplayer experience very separate. TOR has you there for your character’s story, whichever one you happen to be playing at the time (at least until the Makeb thing and beyond broke off from the “each class gets its own story” thing the game had going on). That works ... moderately.
By ‘the structure of the game’, what I mean is ... well, companions. Bioware games have you taking at least one companion around. TOR gives you one. Mass Effect gives you two. Dragon Age? Three. Thus it’s pretty easy to have your NPC love interest tagging along with you, which is what you want when you’re in love, right? Skyrim and Fallout 4 also have that, with Skyrim having the added advantage of “You have a house and if your spouse isn’t the adventuring type, they can stay home and you can come back to them to tell stories of what you’ve been up to and just Be With Your Partner”. That works fine. The thing is, the game’s mechanics and world set-up allow for that. A lot of the other games ... not so much.
Horizon Zero Dawn, for instance. Aloy is a Seeker. She hasn’t considered herself to have a permanent home since the Hero’s Journey thing kicked off in usual Dead Mentor style with the mess at the Proving. She’s been nominally alone for most of her life and she’s pretty clearly still not sure whether to trust people being nice to her. Flirtation is not something she necessarily recognises and it’s clear from when Erend does it that she’s just like, “What the fuck?” and it takes awhile to get past that. That’s character stuff, but there’s also logistical issues. Without a permanent living space, she doesn’t have anyplace for a spouse to just ... stay. And having an AI companion following her around would get really problematic for some of the stealth stuff that people enjoy in this game because either the companion’s AI would have to be incredibly good (which ... we just aren’t there yet) or the enemies’ AI would have to be programmed not to notice your companion, like in TLOU1. So it’s theoretically possible, but awkward and would distract from that feeling of quiet discovery that makes this game what it is. (Plus if you went for Varl, you’d have issues where you’re going into ancient ruins all the time and he’d be exiled for that.)
Do I support writing fanfic of Aloy figuring out romance with whichever NPC a player chooses? Hell yes. Do I support it being crammed into the actual game? Hell no.
Final Fantasy XIV ... it’s a MMO. I’ve already discussed why that kind of thing doesn’t normally work in MMOs. Plus there are too many NPCs, no voiced PC dialogue, and too much else to do without having to stop mid-quest to head wherever in the world your NPC crush is. If they’re not doing something rash, getting possessed and/or getting themselves killed, anyway. Again, I totally get it and at least one of my Warriors of Light had quite the crush on Thancred (largely while he was still being voiced by Taliesin Jaffe). But I can write that quite happily, if I want to, without actually having it acted out for me by little computer avatars.
Dark Souls ... I mean, come on, don’t even start. There’s hardly any human beings in that game. And one female-presenting ... being ... deciding to not kill you does not a romance make. Unless someone’s seriously suggesting shoehorning in a love interest from ... like, where? You’re an undead deciding the fate of the world; where the hell does getting smoochy with someone come in? “Let’s have a bit of light in the darkness of that world” my arse; I don’t even play Dark Souls and I know that’s not the point. Same situation as Horizon Zero Dawn, really - why do we need romance when there’s so much else to do and explore? When are we going to find time for it in between hunts? Is it supposed to happen during the hunting and exploration and awe-inspiring discoveries? Isn’t that going to break the ‘contemplative solitude’ mood that adds to this game’s richness and depth?
There’s an issue, I think, where the line between “a game should be accessible to everyone” and “a game needs to appeal to everyone” has been either erased or is so mobile that it becomes just a lump of, “a game should be accessible to me personally, all the time, and cater to my every whim”. I would personally love to play Dark Souls for the whole “the world tells the story” bit but I know that the mechanics would piss me off and the lack of a story mode is a deal-breaker for me from a health perspective as much as anything else. It’s FromSoftware’s prerogative to refuse to add a story mode. I may complain, but that’s on a sheer accessibility level.
The other place I may complain - and even then only a little - is when a game that does allow romances doesn’t allow the romance I would personally like. That’s only a minor annoyance, though, because romance is part of the structure of the narrative and the gameplay, and there’s this character that matches up perfectly with my own and the game says I can’t romance them. But again, that’s what fanfic’s for, and the only reason I sulk a little is that feeling of, “I can romance someone else but it’s just not the same”.
What I won’t do is demand that the structure and narrative mood of a game be substantially altered to shoehorn in a romance that I can create far, far better in fanfic. Not everything needs to happen on the screen. Video games are supposed to fire the imagination, not take its place. If you want your character to have any romance, with any NPC in any video game ever? That is exactly what fanfic’s for. And no writer, no matter how good a writer they are, will ever tailor romantic dialogue so exactly to your tastes as you will. So instead of demanding they try ... do so yourself. Or play a game whose structure allows romance.
Basically there’s a difference between demanding concessions for the disabled and demanding unnecessary shoehorned narrative elements because of personal preference. Honestly, things like that fall under the “Be careful what you wish for” category for me - I understand why they’re asking, to a point, but I think what they’d get if their dreams of romances in these games came true would probably be far less satisfying than they think for those specific games that weren’t designed to fit romance into their themes, plot and mechanics. It’s fair if all they want is a dating sim, but there are some perfectly good dating sims with combat! That’s kind of what Bioware does now (sorry, guys, but it’s true).

Video Game Questionate
Tagged by @joufancyhuh
Tagging: @sunnydae and @nym7, if you want to play.
You’ll discover real quick here that I have not played many games. I like what I like XD
-Games-
First game you ever played: Pirates of the Caribbean online? I burned through the free version in a couple days and then my friend bought me Sid Meier’s Pirates.
Favorite game: Either ME2 or ME3. I just love how the second upends the optimism of the first game and shows you the dark underbelly of the galaxy. And I always love me a good lazarus story. And the raw emotion of the world ending in 3. And how it ties together so many threads of previous games (though sometimes it gets a little weird.)
Game you hated at first but now love: Can I say ME1? It was a steep learning curve getting through that game the first time. I nearly rage quit SO many times fighting that Krogan battlemaster on Therum.
Game you used to love but now hate: I spend a lot of time in Skyrim. Hundreds of hours. But I don’t see myself going back. No matter how many times it gets remastered/rereleased.
Game with the best group/companion(s): ME2. They sound like the literal worst of the galaxy, but then you get to know them all and realize they must be protected at all costs. God, even Zaeed won me over in the end.
A game with your favorite ending: ME3, destroy ending specifically. There’s something about Shepard shooting a wannabe god with a pistol. The anger on their face. Their resolve. The ensuing explosion. Everything that happens after I would have written differently, though, tbh.
A game with the WORST ending: ....this might be an unpopular opinion, but I really hate how DA2 ends. It kind of feels like the main events of that game happen no matter what you do? I was kind of hoping to see a less violent side to the mages, especially since they seem queer coded to me. It feels like Bioware was trying too hard to justify the Chantry’s behavior. (Yes I’m aware that it sounds like Anders wrote this. xD)
Best character customization?: Of the one’s I’ve played? Mass Effect Andromeda. Though I feel like Femryder has better options than Maleryder.
-Hero and Companions-
Your favorite playable character:  Shepard << hands down. Though being gay in Ancient Greece as Kassandra was a ton of fun too.
The funniest playable character: Hawke
Your favorite companion(s): (in no particular order) Kaidan, Peebee, Aria (it was just a DLC, but STILL), James Vega, Grunt, Jack, Anders, Isabella, Zevran, Merill, Morrigan, Ikarous, Legion
Companions you could live without: Oghren.  Cora Harper. Liam Kosta. Wynne. Liara T’Soni. Leliana.
-Relationships-
Favorite game friendship(s): Vega & Cortez, Tali and Legion (as late as it was), Joker & EDI (hey it was total enemies -> friends -> lovers over the course of the game), Merill & Isabella, Hawke & Varric, Shepard & Joker
Favorite companion banter:  “You would be one to like grizzly bears, Mr. Vega!” “Heh, heh...huh?”
A relationship you loved but went bad: Alistair/Warden, Femshep/Vega (in game only. I don’t mind the fix it fics)
A relationship you weren’t sure of but loved: Zevran/Warden
A character you wish you COULD romance: *deep breath*  Sloane Kelly. Jeff “Joker” Moreau, Kasumi Goto. Miranda Lawson (as Femshep). Ashley Williams (as Femshep). Jack (as Femshep), Aria T’loak (actual romance please), Morrigan (as a female Warden), Tali (as Femshep), Gianna Parasini. Honorable (or dishonorable??) mention to Brynjolf of Skryim Thieves Guild.
A minor character you wish could be a companion:  I really can’t think of any? Unless we’re counting Clone Shep. :P Oo! Nyreen Kandros.
-Fun-
Shoutout to a random NPC: That Salarian construction worker you find on his break during the Citadel DLC. May I have that much chill when meeting Commander Shepard. Rolan Quarn.
A game you love watching playthroughs for and want to play: None. I hate watching playthroughs and only do it when I need dialogue for a specific scene. ^^This!
Love watching playthroughs but won’t ever play: see above <-
Online gaming or solo?: I may have got my start in online gaming, but I prefer solo. The only exception seems to be playing Among Us with friends.
Why do you play video games?: To be honest, I started playing games regularly because the hormone regulator I take (spironolactone) makes me kind of light headed sometimes. And when I first started taking it, my dermatologist gave me a much stronger dose than I needed. I was basically useless for two hours a day. I take a more reasonable dose now, but the habit remains. Eat lunch, take meds, and play games for two hours when I can. Now it’s more of a self-care thing. I find video games help me cope with PTSD. Combat situations that I can beat without too much challenge relieves that fight instinct my reptile brain is always trying to activate. Puzzle games like sudoku and mahjong (the matching game, not so much the original strategy game) help me with freeze responses.

VIDEO GAME TAG
Me: gets tagged
Also me: immediately forgets every video game i've ever played
Thanks to @thealexmachina for this - it made me think about games I haven't thought about in years! Tagging @shepgarrus @zaeedmassanis & @garriante (but only if you fancy it).
Games
First game you ever played: oh boy, probably Monsters Inc on GBA. I'm a woman of culture, you see.
Favorite game: LoZ: Twilight Princess. It was the first game I'd played with a story that utterly hooked me. And my first LoZ title.
Game you’ve played through multiple times: Lego Star Wars. BF is making me watch the prequels atm and I keep recognising rooms from the games. If they just smash up those chairs they'll get some studs and an extra heart.
Game you hated at first but now love: Shadow of Mordor. Hate is a strong word. Didn't care for it initially and it's not normally my type, but it was actually a lot of fun.
Game you used to love but now hate: Okami. It's beautiful and the mechanics are cool, but there's this stupid fucking digging mini game that I just cannot beat. Non-optional mini games can eat my whole ass. I put it down last year in a rage and never picked it back up.
Your favorite game atmosphere/setting(s): RDR2. Rockstar's worldbuilding is second to none - the dialogue, the locations, the horses, the little bits of lore scattered through the world for you to find. Stunning. Very close second goes to BotW because the peaceful post-apocalypse vibe is really refreshing. And it also has horses.
A game with your favorite ending: LA Noire. Sometimes shit's broken and people are difficult and the bad guys get away with it, and there's nothing you can do about it but god damnit do we we try anyway. That final sequence in the sewers was some high-octane shit.
A game with the WORST ending: obligatory Mass Effect 3. Otherwise, Skyrim because it just never fucking ends. 100+hrs in and you're a Dragonborn Arch-Mage Dark Brotherhood assassin vampire Nightingale warewolf who could kill a Giant with a sneeze but half the quests are broken so you can't bloody finish anything properly.
Best character customization?: New Horizons. Fight me.
Hero and Companions
Your favorite playable character: FemShep, obviously. Corvo from Dishonoured is also very cool.
The funniest playable character: ooh that's a tough one. Arthur from RDR2 doesn't get enough credit imo. He's a funny dude.
Your favorite companion(s): Midna from Twilight Princess. The bit after the water temple where she gets hurt you have to take her to Hyrule Castle in the dark and the rain? Yeah. Honourable mention to Wrex from ME and Bekowsky from LA Noire. We only get them both as actual companions really briefly which a shame.
Companions you could live without: Thane. Sorry buddy, I just didn't care about you at all.
Relationships
Favorite game friendship(s): Arthur and Lenny from RDR2. FemShep and Ashley are hugely underrated in the fandom imo - there's a scene in the Citadel DLC where you both get hammered and start a bar fight. Just gals bein dudes. Also Phoenix and Maya from the Ace Attorney series for the 10/10 sibling dynamic and found family wholesomeness.
Favorite game relationship(s): Shepard and Garrus because I'm always a slut for relationships built on a foundation of mutual trust and respect. Also the one in Transistor. You know the one.
Favorite companion banter: gotta be the OG Mass Effect alien squad - Garrus, Wrex, Tali and Liara. I love how their interactions evolve through the games.
A relationship you weren’t sure of but loved: Alistair and the Warden. They got off on the wrong foot initially in my first Origins play-through but he's a sweetheart really.
A minor character you wish could be a companion: every Star Wars game should have a Gonk Droid companion option and that's the tea.
A character you wish you COULD romance: Morrigan. You expect me to believe the swamp witch is straight? Please.
Fun
Shoutout to a random NPC: ISAAC NEWTON IS THE DEADLIEST SONOFABITCH IN SPACE.
A game you love watching playthroughs for and want to play: the Uncharted series. I'd give anything for a PC port, Sony. ANYTHING.
Love watching playthroughs but won’t ever play: literally any horror game. Until Dawn, Dead Space, etc. But even then I never watch them full screen and usually only have one headphone on.
Online gaming or solo?: Solo. The only online game I really play is GTA V because I don't have friends.
Why do you play video games?: I don't read a lot at the moment so they get me my fiction fix, and games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley are thereputic. And I just think they're neat.

Video Game Questionnaire
Tagged by @alyssalenko thank you, this looks like fun! ♥
Tagging @briarfox13 @starsandskies @marvilus73 @its-sixxers @tarberrymentats @bellaciaofallout and @adaar-i no pressure of course!
Rules: Fill in your answers below and tag some buddies!
-Games-
First game you ever played: Oh boy, I started to play games when I was like 5 or something? I think it was Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island on the Super Nintendo. I didn’t have a console but my best friend had one. While one was playing, the other was drawing the current level. It was fun :D
Favorite game: I hate this question honestly xD I have games I love but you can’t compare them. I love Assassin’s Creed 2 and Brotherhood for example, but how should I compare them to Fallout 4 or 76? And Mass Effect and Dragon Age, or Life is Strange, Skyrim, God of War... all of them are so different.
Game you hated at first but now love: Civilization 5. I used to make fun of my bf for playing it. Then he “forced” me to give it a try and I just didn’t stop playing that day :D
Game you used to love but now hate: Luckily I don’t have one.
Game with the best group/companion(s): Hmm I loved the crew in Mass Effect 1 and 3. The companions in the Dragon Age games are great as well. Also Fallout 4, I’ve always liked them all.
A game with your favorite ending: I liked the endings to To the Moon and Finding Paradise, both were bittersweet but still good. Horizon: Zero Dawn and God of War 4 had good endings as well. Oh and Detroit: Become Human. At least the way I played it :D
A game with the WORST ending: Mass Effect 3 without mods
Best character customization?: DAI with mods, Fallout 4/76 is quite good too. The Sims? xD
Rest is under the cut :)
-Hero and Companions-
Your favorite playable character:  Oh please don’t ask such hard questions xD Ezio Auditore, Aloy from Horizon, Commander Shepard, Zero and Zane from Borderlands...
The funniest playable character: Hands down Zane Flynt in Borderlands 3. I also like Aloy’s sassy humour. And Kratos was fun too, the way he interacted with Atreus.
Your favorite companion(s): Kaidan Alenko, Tali’Zorah, Garrus, Wrex, Nick Valentine, Deacon, Danse, MacCready, Preston Garvey, Alistair Theirin, Blackwall, Varric Tethras, Dorian Pavus, Wynne, Kurt from Greedfall, Atreus, and so many more, I bet I forgot someone obvious
Companions you could live without: Does that mean I dislike them? No right? I mean there are some I don’t necessarily need like Oghren, Isabela, Vivienne, Strong... but that doesn’t mean I hate them.
-Relationships-
Favorite game friendship(s):  Shepard & Garrus, Inquisitor & Dorian, Hawke & Varric, Sole & Deacon & Nick & MacCready & Preston, Max & Chloe from LiS, Ezio & Leonardo from AC2, ...
Favorite companion banter:  Alistair has a lot of funny things to say!
A relationship you loved but went bad: Shrios? I don’t have a Shep with Thane but I love the ship. Would be so amazing to find a way to help him.
A relationship you weren’t sure of but loved: Fenris. I wasn’t sure at first but he really grew on me.
A character you wish you COULD romance: Varric Tethras goddammit
A minor character you wish could be a companion: Scout Harding maybe or Conrad Verner, now that would’ve been funny xD
-Fun-
Shoutout to a random NPC: Ward from Fallout 76 is my new fav ♥-♥
A game you love watching playthroughs for and want to play: I usually don’t watch PTs if I intend to play the game. But I already bought a ridiculous amount of games because I started watching a PT and loved it enough to play it myself. My biggest achievement was watching one and a half episodes of God of War, getting up from my chair, riding my bike to town and not just buying the game, nope, I bought the PS4 for it xD
Love watching playthroughs but won’t ever play: Hah, simple. Horror games. I love watching them but I’m easily scared when it comes to games, I can’t play for myself. It’s fun to see my fav Youtuber jump at everything though :D
Online gaming or solo?: Usually solo. But sometimes I like to team up with friends. I played Borderlands with my bf for example, and I’m currently playing Fallout 76 very often with my bestie and her colleague.
Why do you play video games?: Oof, well, I like a good story and I think it’s more immersive to play through one than to watch or read. I enjoy creating my own characters and exploring a world with them, but I also like meeting (or playing) other interesting characters. Besides that, games have the power to make me feel like I accomplished something.

Video Game Questionnaire
tagged by @crackinglamb
Rules: Fill in your answers below and tag some buddies!
Tagging: @basedboutmachine, @radreactions, @vkm11, @cyndercrys, @saberwriter, @adaar-i, @dragonie, @datura-tea, @goblin-deity and anyone else that wants to do it!
This got long, so it’s under a cut.
-Games-
First game you ever played: Probably Pokemon HeartGold, which I still have on my shelf
Favorite game: Oh easily Fallout: New Vegas. It’s probably the only video game that I’ve not only finished multiple times, but have finished the DLCs multiple times.
Game you hated at first but now love: I honestly didn’t enjoy Skyrim my first time around. I didn’t really get into it at all and I just couldn’t get into it. But my second time around, I immensely enjoyed it!
Game you used to love but now hate: Probably Dragon Age Inquisition, full honesty. Like I loved the game a lot originally but over time my enjoyment of it has cooled down quite a lot, especially with the DLCs. I just didn’t enjoy the DLCs that much and it kind of soured me on DAI
Game with the best group/companion(s): Fallout: New Vegas, fight me.
A game with your favorite ending: Pokemon Black/White. I will fight tooth and nail when I say that Black/White are the best Pokemon games.
A game with the WORST ending: Probably Dragon Age Inquisiton, if I’m being totally honest with myself. I just couldn’t get into it, at all
Best character customization?: Elder Scrolls Online! I’ve legit spent like hours fiddling around with the character customization
-Hero and Companions-
Your favorite playable character:  Arthur Morgan (Red Dead Redemption 2), The Nameless One (Planescape: Torment),
The funniest playable character: Luigi from Luigi’s Mansion 3 or Bayonetta
Your favorite companion(s): Cait (Fallout 4), Devil of Caroc (Pillars of Eternity), Veronica Santangelo (Fallout 4), Aveline (Dragon Age 2), Jack (Mass Effect 2), everyone from Mass Effect Andromeda (best Mass Effect game, fight me).
Companions you could live without: Durance (Pillars of Eternity), Zaeed (Mass Effect 2), Vicar Max (The Outer Worlds), most of the Skyrim followers
-Relationships-
Favorite game friendship(s): Garrus Vakarian (Mass Effect 2), Varric (Dragon Age 2 and Inquisition), Aloth and Eder (Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2)
Favorite companion banter: Anything with Aloth from PoE2. It is just hilarious seeing how wound up you can get that anxious little elf haha
A relationship you loved but went bad: Ooooof, I’m honestly not too sure? Maybe with Blackwall from DAI
A relationship you weren’t sure of but loved: Preston Garvey. I was super unsure of it at first but like, Preston is a total sweetheart and I love him.
A character you wish you COULD romance: LET ME ROMANCE VARRIC, BIOWARE! YOU COWARDS! Okay but also, Eder and Pallegnia in PoE2, as well
A minor character you wish could be a companion: Sunny Smiles in Fallout: New Vegas, Calisca and Heodan in Pillars of Eternity 1
-Fun-
Shoutout to a random NPC: Blind Diode Jefferson! Keep on singing those blues, you funky little jukebox!
A game you love watching playthroughs for and want to play: Dragon Age Origins!
Love watching playthroughs but won’t ever play: Fallout 1 and 2, unless Todd Howard finally stops being a bitch and releases them on console. C’mon Todd, do it!
Online gaming or solo?: Solo, easily. I am not really into the whole Online Gaming scene, although ESO and Fallout 76 have slowly weaned me into the genre
Why do you play video games?: Because it really helps them creative juices flowing. Plus it helps me destress and stop worrying about all the things that have been stressing me out throughout the day.

Video Game Questionnaire
Tagged by @vailed-legacy, thank you, this is a fantastic idea! :D Rules: Fill in your answers below and tag some buddies!
Games
First game you ever played: Donald Duck: Quack Attack I think? Immediatly followed by Pokèmon Silver! Favorite game: Bloodborne. God I love that game to death Game you’ve played through multiple times: Both Skyrim and Dark Souls! Game you hated at first but now love: I wasn’t certain about Undertale at first, then played it and really liked it Game you used to love but now hate: I’d say Terraria because at first I’m all thrilled about e x p l o r i n g, then get bored very easily when it comes to build houses etc. Still like the boss fights tho, especially when playing with friends. It’s not that is a bad game, it just don’t clicks with me Your favorite game atmosphere/setting(s): Bloodborne’s story, settings and soundtracks are my absolutely favourites.  Game with the best group/companion(s): Uhm, I’d say SWTOR, Dragon Age Origins and Fallout New Vegas A game with your favorite ending: Death Stranding. Oh God I still have to properly process it. Bioshock Infinite also has a very good ending that left me amazed. A game with the WORST ending: I’m not a fan of Dark Souls II’s ending. Best character customization?: I’m a basic bitch, so I’d say: Skyrim with 18371268316 customization mods. Had a lot of fun with that shit lol
Hero and Companions
Your favorite playable character: Geralt of fucking Rivia guys. I love him. Played all The Witcher Trilogy and absolutely loved it. Also Sam from Death Stranding is fantastic. The funniest playable character: Big fan of Moira O'Deorain from Oweratch here Your favorite companion(s): Oh this gonna be a long ride guys. I Adore Quinn from swtor and Lana Beniko, who is my absolute favourite. Also Morrigan from DAO, Craig Boone and ED-E from Fallout New Vegas (love their questlines) and Dogmeat from Fallout 3. Companions you could live without: Doc from SWTOR. Not that I hate him, but could definitely live without
Relationships
Favorite game friendship(s): Geralt and Dandelion, hands down guys, those two are amazing Favorite game relationship(s): While I hated it in the books, the romance with Triss Merigold in TW3 is surprisingly good. Also Shepard/Garrus is a big favourite of mine Favorite companion banter: Alistair and Morrigan absolutely A relationship you weren’t sure of but loved: L o r d  S c o u r g e A character you wish you COULD romance: Philippa Eilhart from TW3 makes my gay heart tremble, I love her. A minor character you wish could be a companion: Not a minor character but I’d say Siegmeyer of Catarina from Dark Souls. That adorable onion knight.
Fun
Shoutout to a random NPC: Eileen The Crow from Bloodborne, I adore her. A game you love watching playthroughs for and want to play: Definitely Vampyr because a) I’m always a slut for vampires b) some friends recommended that game to me and I’m very curious about it Love watching playthroughs but won’t ever play: Layers of Fears because I’m an easily scared bitch and it terrifies me. I also played Both Silent Hill 1 and 2 and I’m still disturbed (I loved them tho it’s just that they gave me nightmares for months) Online gaming or solo?: Uhmm, I’d say solo, but this is pretty situational because I had some great fun playing PVP online on Dark Souls. The servers where so empty that I and the only other online player just kept summoning each other, switching weapons and equipments from time to time lol Why do you play video games?: Because I adore seeing how the story and the characters developes while playing through, i get tons of inspiration from it. Also finding easter eggs is great fun to me :D Tagging @halibellecter @palepinkycat @a-muirehen @aliyamirat @cinlat @empireswraths @codariidoescrimes @aduro-gayming and whoever wants to do this! :D
