"Gettin' tired yet?!" A thrown punch was dodged with ease, as expected. The two fighting-types were evenly matched- experience and time spent together allowed them to read each other with practiced ease. Despite the type disadvantage between the two of them, Ciel fought with everything they had every time they sparred. It was something Lucien loved about him, that fighting spirit was as captivating as the pokemon himself...

But it wouldn't be enough to win the fight.

It was more of a battle of attrition than anything else. As they fought, the Blaziken only grew faster and faster...Ciel had to end the fight before he could speed up too much, but this time the Lucario wasn't so lucky. He could only trade blows until they got too fast to evade or block.

With a swift strike to the chest, Ciel was sent tumbling back onto the ground a few feet away. The outcome was clear- he lost, and Lucien was quick to stride up with a proud smile. "Good fight today, doll! You're getting better and better at keeping up with my speed boost, which is great!" He stood over his fallen partner, dusting some dirt off of his cream sleeveless vest before offering a hand to help him up. Ciel took it, but hesitated with pulling himself up. "Does this mean...?"

He beamed. "That's right, you know the rules~ Lucky I didn't wear a shirt today, eh?" A strong tug pulled the other 'mon up to his feet, pressing him to an already grumbling stomach. Ciel was too beat to really struggle, and this was a tradition of theirs anyway. Whoever won their spars got the rights to eat the loser, which was the perfect incentive for two people that could work up a HUGE appetite...which Lucien was eager to satisfy. Ciel was quick to remove his spiked gear- he didn't want to risk hurting Lucien on the way down with it.

Ciel closed his eyes, letting the Blaziken get to work as humid warmth suddenly clamped itself around his head. He was lucky that he was taller than him so his head could fit, but knowing how determined Lucien was...he probably would try to fit him down no matter what. Hungry gulps started to work him down, and it would seem that his throat muscles were just as strong thanks to repeated victories. It didn't take long for Ciel's torso to vanish, then his lower body, until the only things left of him outside were his spiked gloves and choker. Lucien's stomach swelled, happily grumbling as it expanded to fit its new guest.

"Ahhh~ Nice n' savory! I'd wager you have it nice in there, a massage and heat really relieves muscle soreness!" A fire-type's stomach tended to run hotter than most, and Ciel was inclined to agree. The walls churning and massaging around him felt pretty nice, but...it'd be nice to have his belly filled every once in a while. Lucien tasted pretty good...that was the point of the constant training, though. "Hm, you're the perfect weight in there." He idly patted at him, rubbing at around where his head was. "Maybe I could work on my balance holding you? Or go for a run?"

Lucien mumbled to himself, considering his options. As much as Ciel loved him, he wished he could sit still...

the show chb logo was also ripped from fandom, like in the past decade all the official chb shirt had the logo without the circle and then the fandom started doing and the show went for it, sorry your tags reminded me of that

Yeah, I know Delphi Strawberry Service has done more circular-based CHB shirt designs for ages, and I've seen the more circular-based designs floating around for awhile. I think Magicbysab's circular-based CHB shirt designs also predate the show design? Those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I understand on a level that if they did base it off fandom designs, particularly if they're basing anything on widespread fanon or fandom-based concepts, it can be difficult to pin down credit or may even seen unnecessary. But if they're going to be doing that I feel like at least they could hire like, a fandom consultant of sorts? Instead of just ripping off from the fandom, hire someone from the community who produces that already so at least there's some recognition and acknowledgement of where it originated.

Heck, in some instances if you ask around in the fandom it's not hard to pinpoint who specifically popularized certain concepts! I could talk for ages about Cherryandsisters being a driving force behind photokinesis!Will, or Saberghatz with plague!Will (tbh between the two they spearheaded a ton of early Will/Solangelo fanon), and I swear Drksanctuary alone is behind like 50% of Alabaster fanon, etc etc etc. People in the fandom know these things! Heck, we know ReadRiordan company knows how to do that kind of thing! They commissioned Viria for the official art, and the UK Riordan newsletter reaches out to fans all the time to feature their work (with credit, they're one of the better ones)! Though in Rick's book tours he did showcase Viria's art (at least with credit) without asking before she got commissioned, and during the Tower of Nero book tours they actually straight up stole a solangelo edit from Pervysloth with completely zero credit (link is to my canon url readriordan parody blog).

I think it doesn't help as well that Rick and his editor allegedly use the fandom wiki in place of a series bible. The PJO wiki is notorious for putting inaccurate information or fanon onto pages at random and having no sources. (What I wouldn't give for the PJO wiki to have frequent book/page sources a la Warrior Cats wiki...) There are what, now almost 18 books in the main series alone? Of an extremely renowned best-selling series that's 20 years old and now being adapted for TV? And they STILL don't have a series bible? That's like, step 1 of writing a series. This kind of reliance of the fandom for resources and concepts definitely isn't new for them.

It just feels so bizarre as to what it says about how the ReadRiordan company views the fandom and the creatives within it. I understand that trying to figure out how to give credit to the concept of "CHB shirt design, but circular!" is difficult, if you even can find out who did that first or popularized it. But if you're going to rip things from fandom, at least find somebody to try and credit? Show that you put in even the tiniest amount of effort? And if you get it wrong and people know, they'll correct you and that's that! But ReadRiordan just keeps trying to actively obscure these kinds of things, even with their own media, not ripped from the fandom, which makes it feel all the worse when it gets pointed out. And a lot of the time the whole reason those concepts get popular is because they're filtered through big names in the fandom! The fandom is a community! We know these people! We can point to them and explain exactly what they popularized! Remember how Velinxi popularized long haired Piper with the heart-shaped flyaways? Goodness only knows how many fandom designs are heavily influenced by Viria and Minuiko and Burdge (and Indigonite and Fuocogo and Ikimaru and Thecottonproject and Joker-ace and Sixofclovers and Vikingmera and Saber and Cherry and and and-). If you are in the community this stuff is easy to find. But Rick and the ReadRiordan company clearly being ~5 years behind with fanon pretty obviously tells me that they're not in the community at all, and aren't bothering trying.

Favorite thing you’ve created (or seen created) for the fandom? Oooh, that's like picking favorite children. But when I saw this question, what popped into my head were these chapter images from Out of Nowhere.

Why is it your favorite? I love how conceptual they are. Illustration is best when it elevates the meaning of a story and shows ideas that can't be put into words. I feel like I was firing on all cylinders with this story and the art. They give me that "warm tea" feeling that @jrooc described.

Did it come easily or was it hard to create? So tough. And always done under a time crunch. I'd sit down the same day a chapter was meant to be posted, and I'd get that panicky feeling of not having art. "Breathe. Do something simple." Favorite trope or headcanon you like included in a fanfic? I love fake dating so much. It is so cheesy, but I eat it up every time.

Least favorite? I'm least into canon-compliant fics, where the text narrates what we already saw on screen. I respect the value and craft, but I gravitate toward AUs and canon-divergent stories.

Secret or surprising kink or trope? I don't have many secrets. But if you see a fic and are like, "ew, who would read this, much less write it?!" then I probably got a kick out of it.

Describe how you feel after you’ve created something new? My most excited time comes when I'm about 3/4 done with something, when I've finally completed enough to see that I'll be able to reach the finish line. That's when I pat myself on the back and feel all the pride that goes along with bringing some new thing into the world. By the time the art/fic is complete, I'm fully invested in the next piece and move straight into it.

Top hype man you have that always helps you get across the finish line: Always @mzshko. She is the one holding my creative hand when I think that no one is going to like any of my ideas.

all my dash has been lately is fluff and i’m not complaining, i like every genre. maybe it’s their dash.

fanfic writers are writing what they want and i’m sorry that you don’t like it, but again, it’s out there, you just have to look. maybe they should look harder. do they know that there are tagging systems on this app + ao3 where they can search for fluff specifically?

I went to look up the post and it said that it was deleted (I was very curious to see the comments, but rip lmao) - but even just from that blurb of the url, I can definitely get a sense of the aggression against smut in the post

as far as the 'I hate smut, I want fluff' crowd - it feels like people who don't know how to navigate fandom spaces, but also people who are sexually repressed.

BECAUSE

from all my experience, especially recent experiences - smut fics will always be more popular. if people actually wanted fluff fics, or fics without smut, then my non-smut fics would be more popular. every single time one of my fics has smut, it will always be more popular.

a lot of the time, I regret not putting a smut scene a fic (especially toward the end) because I know that people will read through the actually interesting well-thought out hard work 'plot' part of a fic that I wrote in order to get to a pointless smut scene that I never intended to have there in the first place (as of right now, one of my biggest regrets is not putting a smut scene in Heaven's Gate to get more eyes on it)

it is my opinion that people are lying when they say they don't want smut fics. just straight up fucking lying. (or very few people are telling the truth when they say it, and then they don't seek out the fics they truly want)

Heaven's Gate - which is clearly tagged as having fluff got 11 notes in its first 24 hours

Need - which is tagged as smut/pwp got over 100 notes in its first 24 hours of being posted

yes, there are other factors to take into account, like the length, the gender of the reader character (which, don't even get me started on the 'GN afab' reader character thing - which is so fucking transphobic and misogynistic and rigid to the fucking gender binary it makes me wanna die), and the fact that Heaven's Gate is also marked as Hurt/Comfort and a lot of people in fandom these days seem to hate basic conflict in stories??? - but they are for the same love interest and they are posted for the same fandom

so to me, this is solid, concrete proof that smut will always attract a larger audience. every single one of my smut fics that exists in the same genre as a fic without smut has a larger audience

(unless it's a wlw fic, but again - that's a whole different story. cause don't get me started on the whole 'we need more sapphic stories' crowd who never fucking read wlw fics when they are posted)

I feel like this is really a two pronged problem

one: the recent Catholic sexual repression in fandoms (and in queer spaces/the internet in general)

two: people who love to complain but make zero effort to change the things that they complain about in fandoms (hecklers, in a sense)

the first one is something me and @nctzenkane have talked about at large. it's the "sex scenes are so unnecessary in movies" thing and people directly relating the things you ship to your morals - the idea that the kind of fanfiction you write and read is directly in line with your moral fiber as a person. these are known as thought crimes. which is a highly Catholic sensation

in Catholicism, it's the idea that God can see all and knows all, and therefore, thinking bad things is on the same level of sin as performing a bad act - so thinking about sex too frequently or thinking about harming someone is on the same level as physically committing a murder, and both of these things equally make you a bad person. (and so you need to keep your mind 'pure' for God.)

in modern times, it's the idea that associating with certain topics of fanfiction makes you 'sus' and an untrustworthy person, and that you are more likely to follow through with the bad acts that you read about - like rape, pedophilia, unhealthy age gape relationships, violent crimes, ect. - if you read about those things frequently. (which is untrue, for the fucking record.)

and for the hecklers... god.

someone talked about the sensation of how the pandemic caused this huge shift in fandom, and yeah - I felt it happen in real time.

people who formerly were never in fandom or saw it as a 'nerdy' hobby (people whose hobbies were based around socialization - like drinking and going to bars, etc. or younger people who were allowed unsupervised internet access for the first time) all flooded fandom spaces with 0 sense of fandom etiquette. those are the 'writing fanfiction is too hard so I'm going to harass experienced fanfiction writers' people.

they love to complain about things they don't like in fandom without doing anything to change those things - even if it's something as simple as blocking and following the right people to curate their feed or curating their AO3 tags. the other day I saw dozens of people on tiktok saying that they don't know what the 4 symbols in the corner of the fics on AO3 mean. A lot of people assumed that they were there FOR NO REASON. it made me want to start chewing on glass, no lie

anyway. the landscape of fandom right now is so... (sigh.)

You made your complaint as principle, but it was hard to do so when he looked like 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵. Clad in all black, rips in his jeans and a simple T-shirt, he looked divine. It was hard to stand on your business when you claimed you didn't want him in your apartment, but you very much did.

“I don’t remember ever agreeing to that.” Hyuck stood then to come to where you propped your bag on the counter in the kitchen. You began unpacking from the day, setting the snacks you didn’t eat on the table when it was apparent Hyuck was not going to let you continue.

He stepped into your space slotted in right beside you, barely a hair's length in between your bodies, his hand coming to the small of your back to get your attention. You turned to him to see dark eyes on you so intense you immediately felt your skin prickle with intrigue. A smirk played on your lips as you spoke, “already want to be under me again?” You teased Hyuck’s clear advance.

You turned your attention back to your task, reaching back into your backpack because not giving into him made the game more fun. At least you thought you knew the game until a firm hand on your chin forced your head to turn and you were trapped in his gaze again. Your lips parted, eyes widening in surprise. His entire aura contrasted that of last time, now filled with power. You were thrown.

“No," his voice was just as dark as his expression, "it’s my turn now.” Hyuck’s lips pressed hungrily to yours, walking you backwards until your back hit the wall and caging you in with his arms. His lips left yours to kiss along your jaw until he got to your ear, “I’m a switch for a reason.”

A shiver went down your whole body. Now 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 you didn’t expect. Your heartbeat elevated knowing you were in for it now, swallowing hard. “D-Donghyuck…?” You stuttered under his sheer dominance, completely against what you were used to.

It was such a dramatic shift from the brat you toyed with last time you two were involved. Him begging to get fucked, agitating you until you hit him. You reeled yourself in as best as you could, still clinging onto his shirt with tight fists. “Who knew Hyuckie was hiding this?” You teased, wishing your voice was stronger. All you could manage was a lopsided smile. You knew your cheeks were flushed.

He stepped his leg in between yours, pressing further into you, making sure his thigh was flush against your center through the thin material of your leggings. His rough ripped jeans deliciously aggressive against you. Your teeth clamped down on your lower lip to avoid making a sound, intent on giving him the same treatment.

“‘𝘏𝘺𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘦’, huh? I don’t think that’s the right name. I think you should show me a little more respect.” His deeper voice in your ear had you melting.

“I’m 𝘴𝘰 sorry, Mr. Lee, didn’t mean to offend.” The apology was laced with sarcasm, an eyebrow quirked, but all playfulness left you in a rush as his hand slid to your throat. Your brain quickly fogged up, as it does the minute anyone touches your neck.

He squeezed the sides in his strong hand while he spoke, "'𝘚𝘪𝘳'. Say it." He punctuated the words emphatically, no misconstruing him this time. The feeling of his eyes on you, his thigh in between your legs, and his hand on your throat were diminishing your resolve at a rapid pace, you were about to start drooling if you weren't careful. The blood circulation being cut off making you lightheaded felt great, but it didn't help your strength.

Donghyuck didn't bother lowering his hand until you choked out a weak, "yes, Sir."

The pleased look on his face half made you want to slap him and half get on your knees. His cocky smirk splayed to one side as he lowered his hand. He was devilish. Both of his hands found their place on your hips, holding you tightly and drawing your attention back to where you were intertwined. "Now, if you want me to do anything, to touch you, to 𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬 you, you remember your manners and ask nicely." He tilted his head slightly to the side, tongue in his cheek.

He didn't give you time to answer and had his plush lips back on yours. Your hands twisted into his hair the moment his teeth found your lower lip and bit down. What are some of your favorite manga of all time?

Oh this will be one of the easiest asks I've ever received! You've got me all hype, anon!

Fruits Basket

Wanna get me to talk for hours? Mention Fruits Basket. This was the first manga I ever read back when I was still in elementary school and I've never grown out of my love for the series. I will always have a spot for this manga but it's honestly perfection to me.

I love the characters, the messages, the themes and the emotional depth this manga has made me feel over the years? I honestly wish I could experience Fruits Basket all over again. This is without a doubt my favorite shoujo manga of all time. I love all the characters, I love all the ships. Some of my favorite characters off rip have to be Tohru, Shigure, Hatsuharu and Arisa and Saki. But make no mistake I adore Yuki and Kyo and so on and so forth.

This series does such a great job in such a complicated subject matter concerning neglect and abuse in a way that humanizes the abuser without using said humanization to justify their shitty actions. You leave those moments understanding how that person became how they are but can still completely acknowledge how terrible they are. How you don't have to forgive that person for what they did. And that, if you do forgive that person, that doesn't mean you're just letting bygones be bygones and being kumbaya with them. You can forgive and forget or you can forgive and never forget and that's okay. Your forgiving and moving forward for yourself, not them. And that's one of the things I really liked in the series.

Fullmetal Alchemist

Another series you can get me talking for hours about. You will catch me watching video essay after video essay analyzing this story. I was so into FMA during middle school, one of my moms even bought me the games and made it habit to occasionally buy me the volumes! This is without a doubt, the best shounen has to offer. Quality female characters? Amazing action scenes? Stunning romance? Banger after banger with so many panels I can still recall perfectly.

My favorite volume is definitely volume 15! Because of the manga, Brotherhood is my preference when it comes to the anime adaptations. It has all the homies in it. Another series I wish I could just start from the beginning again with no memory of the source material. These brothers and their friends have altered the chemistry of my brain.

NANA

Still believe that one day Yozawa will grace us with her beautiful art and storytelling all over again. NANA was my first ever jousei read and my dive into jousei as a whole. Until that point all I had consumed were shounen and shoujo so the maturity of the series was one I wasn't expecting. I consumed this series when I was about in early to late middle school and it was so much fun to read.

Now that I'm in my late 20s, holy hell is this hard to binge the way I used to because the themes, the struggles of the character and the realism of those struggles are hitting a little too close to home now. So I can only do NANA in small doses now haha. I even got both of my moms into NANA. Which isn't too impressive when one of my moms has watched the anime of every manga I've mentioned on this ask, but my other mom is NOT an anime fan and she loves NANA so much.

Children of the Sea

Oh my goodness, you definitely oh it to yourself to read this manga. It's not a long a read by any means with only 5 volumes and 43 chapters but it was such a pleasure to read. Maybe this bias comes from someone obsessed with the ocean (which my url definitely implies) and the life teeming underneath the surface but wow this was truly an experience. I watched the movie first and then read the manga, and I'm not sure if that'll shape anyone's viewing experience differently but I do wish I had read the manga first. But both are truly great to check out.

If you want a story about a girl meeting two boys raised by dugongs, this is the story for you. One of my favorite aspects of this read were the side stories labeled Testimony of the Sea. It adds so much to the story without even directly influencing the plot as you see all the strange phenomena that take place in the sea leading up to this mysterious event drawing in our protagonists and what will continue well after its conclusion.

Skip & Loafer

Currently ongoing and a series I was not expecting to like as much as I did. I'm one of the people who got into sukirofa after the anime dropped. 2 episodes in and seeing the absolute beauty and grace of how the staff handled the protagonist's transgender aunt, I had to give this a read and I do not regret in the slightest. This is such a great series and a perfect example how one utilizes 'don't judge a book by its cover'.

Characters you meet at first glance? It only takes a chapter or two before their layers are peeled back and you see how much went in to crafting them and making them more complex than meets the eye. A perfect example of this is the character Mika.

But my favorite chapter has to be ch 29 where you learn what made Nao decide to come out and transition. If you haven't read this series, I won't spoil it, you have to read it for yourself. Prepare for a monthly update schedule, because once that day of the month pops up, it's amazing to see how the sukirofa fandom comes together to scream on twitter and tumblr.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

The series that gave birth to the greatest hater in anime history. Araki truly drinks and leaves no molecules every time a part comes out. Another ongoing series I didn't expect to like as much as I did. But it's become a series close to my heart since diving into it after I got over my initial hesitance with the art style. Honestly JJBA's art style really grows on you, especially as you see Araki's art and writing develop so spectacularly.

You get equal parts continuous story and standalone adventure. You do need other pieces of the pie, but each part still feels so rich and in-depth and bright and colorful. You don't feel like the new JoJo and characters introduced are extensions of previous existing ones or usurpers that have stolen the panels away from other characters. It's like watching a torch be passed down from JoJo to JoJo, generation to generation (which it technically is since this story follows the descendants of the JoJo that started it all, Jonathan Joestar).

Araki's biggest source of writing inspiration came from how he felt watching Prince concerts. How the story of the concert would suddenly flip and give you a whole new experience. I feel he truly has that down with JJBA.

Concubine Walkthrough

Can't believe I even forgot to add Concubine Walkthrough, so take this quick addendum. This is one of the best manhwa I've ever read in my life and not enough people talk about it. I'm working on a post right now all about why I recommend it.

If you're a fan of sci-fi, romance and want to read an otome isekai romp that subverts your expectations? Please read this manhwa. It's The Matrix mixed with historical Korean fiction (and of course, otome isekai at its finest).

I loved loved LOVED the philosophy behind the story, the themes. The discussion of what reality is and choosing what reality means/is to you. Just because your entire life is a simulation, does that make your entire life up until that point irrelevant? Simulated it may be, your joy, your pain, your love, all of that still felt real, right? There were so many things I never considered about that very topic until I read this series and I feel like more people should give it a go. It's not that long a read (only 128 chapters for the main story with some extra bonus content on the side), please please PLEASE read Concubine Walkthrough if you haven't already.

But now that ppl are starting on the internet with ao3, it's definitely leaving so many wonderful ffn fics in the dust which is super sad... btw i don't have access to the msg video anymore since i only had a week lol so any examples here are from the boz one !!!

at first i tried to just use my usual browser extension (video downloadhelper) to try and rip the stream however it's drm protected so it just gave me a huge file that only had like glitchy static and no audio, which means it's encrypted, and you need a decryption key

you need a cdm (content decryption module) to get a decryption key. i actually got really far with this and managed to get one using a virtual android phone before realising i didn't have to DO ALL THAT and can just use cdrm-project.com for this. i don't wanna dwell on it

so on the cdrm-project page, for this task you only need the PSSH and the license url.

step 1: turn off your adblock first lol i learned this the hard way. also yes you may sing this to the tune of run dry

step 2: to get the PSSH - go to the video page and play a little bit of it -> right click -> inspect -> in the "filter urls" search type "m3u8" -> look for the one that's like "widevine_cmaf_avc.m3u8" since i believe this will be the master file -> right click it -> copy value -> copy url

open command prompt -> type "curl" then paste the url, press enter -> the string of stuff beginning with AAAA is the PSSH, copy it

step 3: to get the license url - filter urls for "wide" -> this was the correct one

right click this -> copy value -> copy url

step 4: paste the PSSH and the license url into the appropriate boxes on cdrm-project and it will give you the decryption key KEEP IT AROUND

step 5: i downloaded n_m3u8DL-RE and mp4decrypt (bento4) -> unzip both -> place mp4decrypt in the same folder as n_m3u8DL-RE

step 6: open command prompt -> first place yourself in the right directory as where n_m3u8DL-RE folder is (copy address in file explorer -> type "cd" in command prompt -> paste address, press enter)

step 7: now use this command in command prompt: N_m3u8DL-RE -M format=mp4 --key [use the key gotten from the cdrm-project page] [use the master .m3u8 url]

it will show you a bunch of options for selecting the resolution you want, press enter and it'll start working

step 8: it'll take a minute so wait until it says DONE -> find the completed video file in the same folder as n_m3u8DL-RE !!

i will tell you something hilarious i discovered: i think the key works for all the videos currently up on the site. its why the boz one was a fucking breeze to get after all that for the msg one LMAOOOO and i even downloaded a couple random other things

for other videos like dvd rips i do those using handbrake which is easy and painless frolicking in a field in comparison💀

what is a fanfic trope you didn't expect to like and then very much did? friends to lovers kinda snuck up on me in my adulthood. i used to be very against it as a teen, but now that i'm grown and have actually seen the trope done well in fics and in media, it's one of my favorite tropes of all time.

Do you think s11 Mickey can still carry s11 Ian? yes 100% absolutely and anyone who says otherwise is lying. (did we all see noel's s11 body? we saw the abs right? mans was ripped in the last season even tho the writers like, never showed it, and it is my personal mission to avenge this wrongdoing) i'm kidding about the lying part but yeah, he absolutely can still carry s11 ian, being able to lift his husband is the only reason he still goes to the gym

I saw your addition to the decolonization post but the links weren't working except the last one. I used to use zlib until it got ripped away from me and have been too scared of malware to go looking for a new site to use so if you have any site you could recommend that will be helpful

The main other one I use is libgen ! I usually just look up libgen on duckduckgo to find the latest url pretty sure all the ones in that post can be found on there they're most likely even the same pdfs !

ah, sass, thank you! i love talking about writing :) this is going below the cut because it got long.

2. talk about a notable time a narrative or character has looked you dead in the eyes and said “fuck your plan, here’s what we’re actually doing.”

hm...................i was going to say that i don't usually have this problem and usually just run into the issue of my own mind refusing to write something that doesn't take into account the societal and cultural context i'm writing the characters in, but then i remembered the time i was writing god knows i can never get rid of habits and i was about halfway through, sleep deprived as fuck, and texted my friend in an exasperated, defeated tone, quote, "the show has repeatedly made me say “ugh fuck there’s a blowjob in my future isn’t there” which sounds wild out of context but the context is i think i can’t avoid writing them fucking in this fic". sometimes i cannot control the characters sometimes they really just want to have sex and i have to deal with this.

8. what’s your relationship with constructive criticism and feedback like? do you seek it out? how well do you take it?

if you try and give me "concrit" on my fanfic then i rip you to shreds in dms with my friends. i write to excise the spirit of creativity from where it's possessing my physical form, not to have people try and tell me how to "better" my writing. i'm aware my writing tends to have a lot of things people don't usually enjoy (heavily descriptive, emotion-focused, present tense, a more realistic approach to tropes or themes, etc) and i, frankly, don't care. my writing is for me; everyone else is just getting to enjoy it because i'm egotistical enough to post it. (that said, for my original writing i welcome concrit, because i actually have the intent of having them published. i just haven't managed to get around to finishing many original projects, historically.)

10. at what point in the process do you come up with titles, and how easy or hard is that for you?

i do not come up with titles until the moment i have to post to ao3. i hate coming up with titles and am very grateful when i figure out a lyric from a song or a line from a poem fits it. well..........usually, anyway. all my sunrise fics have had pre-planned titles—but, then again, sunrise is very much an outlier, so.

20. what is your favorite trope to write?

i don't think i've really had a defined trope across my writing the last few years? i guess if i had to choose one, probably the 5+1 format or derivations of it.

27. do you share rough drafts or do you wait until it’s all polished? 28. And who do you share them with?

for people to read my rough drafts i would have to have rough drafts. i genuinely don't give a fuck about "perfecting" a piece, whatever gets written the first time is what gets posted. could my writing be "better"? probably! do i care? no. i wouldn't say my writing is the best ever, but i personally like it and that's what matters. that said, i do send screenshots of sections i really like to my friends as i write, because i like making them yell at me.

37. when creating characters, what comes first: appearance, backstory, motivation, personality, something else?

this i guess only really applies to ocs; in that case, i usually come up with a character archetype, an archetype i'm trying to subvert, or an overarching narrative from which i can extrapolate characters. after that, i come up with names based on that, and then appearances are what i come up with last, usually.

45. name three of your favorite fanfic writers.

only three???? no. absolutely not. @lungache @butchybats @lucientelrunya @owengrose @lunarriviera @lunanoc and probably more whose urls i am forgetting.

52. how many unfinished ideas/stories are you working on at the same time?

oh god......................i have so many unfinished fics T^T i have ones that are unfinished but actively being worked on, unfinished but not actively being worked on but which i think about regularly, unfinished and i wish i could finish them but i just never have the time, unfinished because they were a joint project with a friend and then we never finished them and now we're both too busy and not in those fandoms anymore, and unfinished and rotting forever in the cabinet of abandoned wips.

55. do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?

uhhhhh okay so. i have. a megop fic (transfomers aligned continuity, pre canon), another megop fic (also aligned continuity), a dc fic, and a gotham fic. the transformers fics would probably be most likely to be completed because i actually have detailed notes for them, the dc fic is dead in the water, and the gotham fic i would have to rewatch the show and i don't need to hurt myself like that again.

75. do you know how your story ends before you start writing?

yeah i need to know at least the basic narrative beats before i start writing. often this means me rambling at my friends in our dms to work out my ideas and the approach i want to take, but i can't start something without knowing how it ends because otherwise it'll never be finished.

88. if you could have another author write your wip for you (bc we all dream of this occasionally), who would it be?

hmmmmm i think i would make @xueyang write my mdzs fics because i think they could make them funny. and good. and also emotionally devastating. (hi mar i'm going to write that fic for you i Swear.)

99. was being a writer a dream of yours when you were little? or did it spring up when your older? or is it just a hobby? 

actually i never expected to become a writer, despite having been writing since i was a young child. i actually thought i wanted to be a fashion designer. which to be fair i guess kind of happened since i can't stop drawing outfit/character designs. but yeah i didn't expect to become a Writer the way that i am now. it's easily one of the foundational aspects of my life and daily routines, and i could not have expected that the first time i started writing.
