Now I get it how I probably look when I follow a blog for a couple posts and they turn out to be old af, because I just got a fandom homie following me and uhhhh

Sorry, dude, if you see this I haven't posted about that in months.

I had a huge falling out with the fandom over spoilers and shit to the point where I unfollowed and blocked half the fandom because of how bad it got. I blacklisted the tags, and the only blogs I follow that used to be in those circles don't post any ship content (nor do I for the matter).

No clue why Tumblr is SO dead set on trying to pull me back into this fandom, but I can assure you I don't have any of the content you're looking for.

If you wanna stick around regardless, have fun, but I don't post about or engage with that series anymore and if you dig through my old posts you're gonna find some annoying vents because I fucking hated how people were acting over the spoilers (and I still do some of y'all fucking suck lol), but you know at the end of the day I'm still here to make friends.

For me, individual characters always matter more than shipping, so I really don' tcare about the "canon" status of a ship. I just care if it's respectful to both of the characters in it (which seems to be an unpopular opinion lol), and I just didn't feel like the canon was upholding that of its characters. The final arc (before I left) felt sloppy and poorly done, and everything I've seen past that has been shitty fanservice that I don't want to see or engage with.

So yeah rn I just reblog occasional memes and sometimes document mental breaks. It will probably be a bit jarring on your dash, but idk maybe you already knew that.

Is it just me or do people just overestimate Peri in some aspects?

Especially people on reddit. I haven't watched the entire cartoon yet, but damn. Some people SERIOUSLY think Peri is a super caring perfect godparent and a really kind character. Like, the best version of Cosmo. Are you serious?? It feels like some people who think that haven't watched the original series. Because people there clearly overestimate Peri and underestimate Cosmo. Yes, Cosmo is far from a genius, but he's definitely not a complete idiot either. And he definitely has a lot more experience than his son. He's already thousands of years old, while his son is only in his 20s…

I feel sorry for Cosmo and Dev 😭

Well, yes, Dev is a spoiled kid. Yes, he used magic for bad purposes. However, he is still just a child who, despite everything, tries to become better. Even if he does such thoughtless and bad things. Well, what else can you expect if no one in particular was involved in his upbringing, and his father himself does not pay enough attention to him.

I am also sure that when Peri first met Dev, he was more worried about his job at first. Which is understandable. After all, it was his first time and he was afraid of making even the slightest mistake. Because of all these rules and his peculiarity of magic, he developed severe anxiety.

I have Fics to Rec

I don't really go out of my way to rec fics (and I dunno why I have never done this before on tumblr), but BY GOD, have these two fics taken a special place in my heart.

I ADORE everything about them.

They are both Suho x Hajin ships

But the ship aside, I am so incredibly grateful for the authors to have brought them to life and allowed us to read these absolute GEMS of a fic in this little, little fandom of The Novel's Extra.

Really, y'guys have no idea how giddy and excited I get at every update.

Now, the fic in question?

1. Flowers of Agápē by DescendedGaia (Not sure if the author has a tumblr or any other social media... but lemme know if you want me to tag you :) )

Kim Hajin is a failure. There's no two ways to look at that objective truth. It's a truth that resonates through how others look at and ridicule him. It's a truth that echoes infinitely inside his head, compounding and doubling down on his inadequacies. It's a truth, despite the unconditional love of two parents that soothe but cannot dispel those haunting doubts. Kim Suho is simply perfection. The desperate vessel and ideal of Hajin's "ifs" and wishes. Because Kim Suho, the protagonist of Hajin's novel, is everything Hajin wants to be for his parents and more. But, that same story falls apart at the seams the same way Hajin has lost faith in himself. Yet, as the common narrative dictates, everything begins anew with an innocuous email requesting to remake Hajin's novel, his desperation and desire incarnate.

*** Alternatively, the extremes of Korean culture break Kim Hajin into someone who feels much more acutely, and everything shifts to the left.

This is such a MASTERPIECE. Hajin's characterisation in here is just *chefs kiss*. For me, thats one of the biggest plus points in this fic. Hajin is so much more emotionally sensitive in here and feels far more acutely than in the orignal, as should have been.

This fic has been adressing almost all the points that made me frown at or dislike in the orignal novel and manhwa (and from what I can notice, almost every one too).

This fic is kinda a rewrite of the orignal novel, (tho the author follows the manhwa flow of the story) with added Suho interactions, and such good characterization of Hajin, I fell in love at first read LMAO.

So far, there aren't any major spoilers (unless you read the author end note, where they give their own tid-bits of the chap, which sometimes contain spoilers too, or go to the comment section which may sometimes give you spoilers to the novel lol) If you are caught up with the manhwa, or atleast the season 1 of manhwa, then so far there won't be any spoilers for you!

And I think i'll stop talking about it here cuz if I keep going, I think i'll end up giving in-fic spoilers Lmao

There's a number on his smartwatch that leads to nowhere. Suho's gotten in the habit of texting it throughout his day. Today, it texted back.

_ Or, in a world missing Kim Hajin, everyone is worse off. Fixing this starts with (a lot of) text messages between a protagonist and his missing piece.

And Man.... where do I begin? I have SO MUCH to say about this fic but I think i'll end up spoiling the whole fic if I start lmao. It's just so good dammit. Just gonna say that this fic takes after the end of the novel, after the conclusion. Only couple few remembers Hajin in the orignl right? Well, in this fic, nobody does. But Suho is probably (???) Going to be the first to remember... I dunno tbh, the fic is only 2 chaps in (and yes, I really adore it already)

I love what the author did with Suhos character and how he is dealing with the aftermath of... everything. Same goes for Hajin, and I love where they seems to be taking this fic. How they characterizes these two main characters and everything.

Listen, I have a LOT to say but i'll just end up giving spoilers so really go read it for yourself. This is another MASTERPIECE of a fic and I am so grateful for its presence in this little TNE fandom TT

If you think a bone is something it's not he won't correct you, he thinks it's adorable. It doesn't matter how you got the bones, you could have found them on a walk or even bought them, he'll keep calling you tiny hunter. If you give him any bone from your collection instant purring. It's going right next to his biggest skull it takes first place as his favorite trophy.

Your collection isn't bones but small little trinkets? He loves it all the same. He'll lightly chitter as he looks at all the bits and bobs you have. You definitely have things he's never seen before. At first you won't notice but slowly your collection is growing with things you don't remember finding until you catch him adding little trinkets to your collection slowly. He'll deny his actions at first but then he'll start asking you if you liked his little gifts. From then on he gives you the little gifts in person, he wants to see your face when he gives you them, that and he's hoping for praise but he won't admit that.

Your collecting stuffed animals? Why? You can just cuddle him. Is he not enough? He's very jealous of your stuffed animals at first, going so far to flare his mandibles in a aggressive manner at your stuffed animals. He keeps this up until one day after coming back home from a busy day you find him laying on top of all your stuffed animals purring loudly. They smell like you and are so squishy he now understands why you love them so much. He starts buying you more and once they smell like you he'll take one or several of them to keep on his ship to cuddle when he's away. Your only getting them back when they lose your scent, then he'll trade you for more of them! He'll get so excited when he finds rare stuffed animals and races to your home to give it to you. Do you like his new trophy that he "hunted" for you? Please tell him you love it and give him some kisses he'll be purring up a storm!

Oh so you collect pens? How intresting ooman show her more. Ooman language is so strange a swiggly to her, cursive looks like art to her and will gladly watch you write in cursive. She watchs your pen move like a cat watching a laser pointer. It doesn't matter what pen you collect she's fasinated by them all. Could be fountain pens, pens that have fluffy balls at the end of them, regular gel pens, pens that don't look like pens. If you have a pen that looks like a sword or axe that's her favorite, she won't tell you but she'll chitter and pur more when she sees you using that one than when you use the other ones. Whenever she's at the market she'll always check to see if anyone has pens or ink she can get you. You don't have to ask she'll automatically get them for you. She likes spoiling her little mate let her do this.

You collect pelts? Now your speaking her language! She'll fixation dump on you too about pelts. Get ready for snuggles in piles on piles of pelts while she tells you how she got every single one of them. If you don't yet live together she'll give you some of her pelts, please please give her some of your pelts she'll be in love. Bonus points if your the one you tanned the pelt. If you do live together your pelt collections are being combined. Swapping pelt care tips are a must of course she loves talking about pelts and listening to you talk about them. If she ever comes home to find you drapped in only her pelts her heart is racing, don't expect to sleep that night.

If you collect odd taxidermy she get's a little confused. Now we're not talking about a stuffed bird were talking frogs taxidermed in the position of them fencing each other, squirls wearing top hats and suits with canes, mice in Christmas clothes, really weird taxidermy. She understands having bones and pelts but this is odd. She's not judging of course but it is odd, just like her odd little ooman.l whom she loves dearly. Every time you show her something new you got she just loves seeing the look of pure joy on your face as you talk about it or how you found it. Just seeing how happy it makes you makes her happy. She will start gifting you odd taxidermy too, she either finds them at different markets or makes you more herself. Theres a lot of reference piece's she can take inspiration from, it's clear which ones you like the most and so she will try to make similar ones to it with animals she hunts herself.

You collect buttons? How strange, why? She's confused by it but wont question it you always seem to amaze her with your different hobbies and interests. Will sit with you on her lap while you show her each and every button you have and any stories connected to it. If you have names for some or even all of the buttons she will remeber them and if you always refer to the buttons by their names she will too. She'll always be supportive of your collection. If she sees a button she thinks you might like she'll take it, even if it belongs to someone else. She'll by it if it's at a market or shop of course she has standers but she thinks nothing of it taking a button from weaker beings. Yonk hers now. Will give it to you with a proud smile wanting praise for finding it for you. Absolutely will pur when you do give her praise. Ask her to name one of the buttons? She would be honored. If you sow one of your favorite buttons to one of her articles of clothing she would cherish it forever. Anyone who says anything bad about the button has their head ripped off and kicked like a soccer ball of a cliff. That's her oomans favorite button how dare you! She likes the clinky sounds some of the button's make, please clink them for her she stop whatever she's foing just to listen to them. Her favorite button is a teddy bear with a little blue bow tie. Q. Where is the Promotional stuff?! What is going on? I need answers. Every show now has a trailer but 911. Is he coming back or not? I need to know something other than Tim is still obsessed with Ryan, haha.

A. Lol, the man is very transparent about his Ryan/Eddie love. He always has been. They're clearly hiding something. I think it was pretty much confirmed that The Rookie was the show something got spoiled for, I don't watch it so I have no clue how big of a spoiler it was. But obviously 911 took the opportunity to button everything up on their end. They clearly don't want something spoiled about the 3 episode event. I think we can pretty safely say there is no kind of AU happening. What we saw was most likely the television show Bobby is consulting on. For all the SPN ptsd's out there freaking out in my ask box, this is an entirely different show. It's not the same thing. However , it would make sense, and in fact be hilarious, if the characters on the show mirrored the real 118. There will be nothing wrong with doing that. We are talking about a Ryan Murphy show. I would be more surprised if they didn't do that.

I think if they drop a trailer it will be during the Family Fued episode. Double the PR in one sitting. They are doing things completely differently this time around. So it's hard to predict. I would imagine we'll get interviews the week leading up to the premier at least. We know Ryan has some sitting out there, and so far they're following the same pattern with Ryan/Eddie that they followed with Oliver/Buck last off-season. Everything else is different. But I would imagine the week leading up to the premier will be pretty PR heavy. Unless they want to hold everything until after the premier. If they're hiding something big we may have to wait. I'm going to address Tommy one more time and one more time only. He is not important enough to feature in anything that is currently taking place. He was made much more important by both fandoms than he ever was going to be to the show. Period. He was never going to be a main. He was never going to be main adjacent. He was a guest star with less than 30 total minutes of screen time. If we get a trailer and he isn't in the trailer I don't think he's returning. The previous seasons love interests have almost always featured in the trailer in some capacity so if they exclude him from that I think it's safe to assume he was let go. The only reason I'm hesitant to say he was fired is because they pinned his Instagram comment. I don't see them pinning a comment from a fired employee. However given everything we have learned about how control heavy Disney is I don't see how he kept his job following the cameo garbage. He clearly broke Disney protocol. So I genuinely don't know. He is very low hanging fruit by Disney standards though so it is what it is. If he shows up for a scene or two or an episode or two it doesn't really matter. He's not going to play any significant role one way or the other. And there is no need to keep talking in circles about it. We have 20 days to go. I'm looking forward to the FF episode and the stuff we will be getting once the season starts (hello Eddie in a church talking to the priest). We'll see what if anything juicy the FF episode provides and we will go from there. 💗

Hi! It's DearCat from AO3. I bet you thought you got rid of me, but you didn't. I'm just busy, lol. Expect a series of long comments once I manage to get the time! I need to catch up.

That said! It's 4:33 am and I made the mistake of scrolling through your Tumblr so now here we go:

I was reading through the concept of Resonant!Daemon waking up in the past and going back to Runestone to claim his babies since birth. And the potential! I am dying. I mean so much potential fluff but also all the ways that this Daemon changes dynamics all over the place.

This Viserys doesn't yet know that Jon and Rhaegar are prophecy babies but you already get a Daemon who is leery of allowing Viserys around his kids, to avoid Viserys trying to steal them again. (And ah! I knew Viserys would try to wedge himself there. He sacrificed too much for his supposed prophecy baby to let it go). But (and this is the one dynamic that fascinates me the most) Rhaenyra is going to go through it.

Rhaenyra is such an interesting character at 15. She's a princess, the only child of the King for the longest time and yet, for the longest time she's also not the heir. She's only expected to be married off. Rhaenyra grows up spoiled in that way that all privileged kids do without even realizing it as they're living it. Especially with how isolated and protected she is. She's the youngest dragonrider, the King's eldest and oldest daughter. A daughter he indulges and adores. She's surrounded by people clamoring for her favour if only by virtue of how much the King values his daughter. And yet, she's not a boy. So she grows up spoiled and a little bratty but also deeply insecure of her father's love and with some self-esteem issues. Because yes, she's all that she is but she's not a boy and she's reminded of this fact every time she sees her mother's suffering. All to get that desired male heir.

I don't think Rhaenyra at this point desires to be Queen, even after being named heir. She certainly doesn't make any moves to work for it. What she desperately wants is what being heir means to her, the public declaration from her father tha actually, yes, she is enough. She's loved and trusted and irreplaceable. And also, the power that it would give her that I am sure, in her mind, translates to freedom.

And I think that's why she has this big crush on Daemon. Because Daemon is the one person who gives 0 shits that she is not a boy from the get go. And yes, Daemon sometimes does shit and is not on her side but it's easy to blame that on Viserys and Otto, especially with th constant exiles. She can explain his absence away. But also, when Daemon is around she is used to being his priority. Slightly under Viserys but that's normal, Viserys is King. And Daemon, because he's coming and going and because he knows whatever position he holds is temporary and that exile is coming his way sooner or later, probably focuses on her the same way any visiting family member focuses on the children and family they're visiting while they're there. He indulges her, showers her with gifts, makes her feel important for Rhaenyra and not as the daughter of the King.

And he's sweet with his babies! She probably was looking at this man and sighing about could have beens and then Viserys orders their marriage. Or agrees when she proposes it. However it comes to be, now Rhaenyra has the one man she wanted and thinks cares about her for her.

Except Daemon loves her, but he fell in love with the Rhaenyra that was already a woman. A mother who had to fight for and protect her children, her position in court, her situation, etc. And he is going to see this Rhaenyra and see a child, rightfully so. I don't think Rhaenyra is blind to the fact that his babies will be grieving and I think she's going to be sympathetic but I also recognize that this is a 15 year old and she is probably going to expect Daemon to be as attentive and focused on her as he was before, even if it's in a subconscious way. But Daemon is now a single father to 2 grieving children and he has to focus on that. With Jon being Rhea's heir and Daemon having better standing and better memories in Runestone, he's probably going to be Jon's regent. Which means that Rhaenyra, as his wife, should move with this brand new little family to Runestone. Runestone is likely amazing but it is not the Red Keep and it doesn't have the luxuries that the King can afford.

So now you have Daemon, whose priorities are going to be his children, their emotional well being and preserving both their protection and their inheritance. And yes, he loves Rhaenyra and will likely help her and indulge her as much as he can but it's a far cry from a Daemon who could dedicate his entire time to Rhaenyra and her father since he didn't really have other responsibilities. And these babies are probably going to be kind to her but I don't think they're going to be overly welcoming or happy either, their mother just died and they and their father are grieving. And yet Viserys imposed this new stepmother/wife on them. (I wonder if Rhaenyra makes parallels between herself and Alicent in this). And on top of that, she's having to move to a brand new castle which is something that she resented when marriage was talked about before and she maybe thought she could avoid with Daemon. And this castle is a downsize, smaller, less luxuries for her to indulge in.

In short, she is going to struggle. But at the same time, she gets to learn with safety wheels. Daemon has been a stay at home dad and he likely will try to keep up with his care of his children at the same time as he does the lord's work which is going to be another mess. But there's no reason why he can't delegate the lady's work to Rhaenyra. And Rhaenyra is going to have to learn to do her job outside of a Targaryen seat of power but with Daemon and his babies as backup. No more filling men's cups and listening as they talk, now she has tangible responsibilities and tangible results for her successes and missteps.

It's almost like Rhaenyra would get a going to college arc.

DearCat! Hi hi! I still think of you whenever I write a Viserys-Daemon scene, praying for your blood pressure. 😂 I really must know which one has been the most aggravating to read so far!

Okay, onto the actual ask...

College arc, I love the way you put it! Both Viserys and Rhaenyra have this blind spot of "because it has been decreed and sworn to, the succession will be honored." And perhaps it might have been! But because Rhaenyra is so hands-off with being the heir (something that Viserys encourages by refusing to involve her at all in the administering of the realm and even discouraging it when she's younger and curious about trying), the lords of the realm don't feel any particular loyalty or confidence toward her. Which leads to her starting from behind when she begins realizing she must fight for it later. It's already an uphill battle at that point.

Whereas pushing her out of her comfort zone earlier like you've laid out gives her those opportunities much sooner. It's not like Dragonstone, where the steward is so accustomed to running the place 90% of the time that she can treat it more as a vacation/refuge like she is currently in Resonant. (She does assume her duties while she's there, but even in chapter nine, when we last saw her, her primary motivation was just to escape KL to grieve alone.)

As you said, Reverb!Rhaenyra will feel that shift in Daemon's perspective and want to earn his respect/attention, and that may lead to her finding that she takes pride in earning the respect of the people she's helping rule over. Her failures won't be in the unforgiving spotlight of the Red Keep, so she can learn much more peacefully. And hopefully at some point, if/when they start spending more time in King's Landing, her success and confidence can help them push Viserys to expand her duties in the eyes of the realm. Why not put her on the small council?

And, I mean, it's also huge not to be starting from a place of "the king's heir is an evil whore with vile bastards." (The nature of her second falling out with Alicent is an interesting one in this AU-AU. Her lying about her maidenhead to Alicent seemed to be one major turning point, one that allowed Alicent to start shifting her into the category of sinner/enemy.) Her own eventual babies will be pretty indisputably hers and Daemon's, especially if she ends up with a set of twins somewhere in there.

(In the version where Rhea ends up dying in this AU, I think it would be around when the twins are 2-4, so that would put Rhaenyra at 16-18. Which will still feel quite young to Daemon, compared to the Rhaenyra he loved, but a good age range for the college arc.)

It's also interesting to think about what flips the switch for Rhaenyra from "this makes me important/relevant to my father" to "I want to be queen" and when. And what role Daemon has to play in it. And what different challenges they end up facing from the Greens.

My bestie A and I regularly update each other with about our daily plan for affirming etc to keep each other accountable. I said I was manifesting VIP treatment, put on some subs and affirmed while I was making breakfast (yes I’m not a morning person and make breakfast at nearly noon 😭)

Not even a half hour later, I received a surprise delivery from Amazon:

My friend L, who lives out of state, sent me food and new bowls for the stray cats I feed, and treats for my cats (Stella & Panini are my cats’ names 😹)

VIP treatment

That evening I worked a brand ambassador gig that I booked only a couple days before. I’ve been avoiding working as much as possible lately lol but this one was nearby and paid well. It happened to be a giveaway event partnering with a local radio station and ended up being fun. One of the radio DJs was there, and me as the sponsor brand representative was given the same level of VIP treatment as the radio DJ! There was an event coordinator who basically did all the work and I just got to stand around looking pretty and getting paid for it. 😭

After work I got home and found another package from my friend L with a gift card for me 💕

A few days later, my neighbor left a huge box of cat food at my door. My cats are getting more spoiled than me 😂

This one is cool because I specifically wanted to manifest this. I had heard about air fryers for a while now and it seemed like something I would use, but I didn’t really feel the need to buy one. A couple weeks ago I was at Trader Joe’s with my mom and the cashier was saying how much he loooved his air fryer and telling me all the things I could make with it. I decided that moment I would just manifest one eventually, and forgot about it.

So the other day my mom comes to pick me up for a family lunch and she has a huge box in her hands - an air fryer?? She says jokingly “happy birthday” - my birthday isn’t for another 4 months! She said she just felt like I needed one 🤷🏻‍♀️

Soo I have this crush-type guy we’ll call D. He’s one of my best friends and we’ve talked nearly every day for 3 years. I can talk to him about anything, including all things supernatural and shifting. We have admitted to having feelings for each other, and even had “online boyfriend” vibes for a while, but we live in different states, and he didn’t want to do long distance. I was sad and anxious about it for a while, but since I found out about loa and shifting, I realized none of it mattered and I could just shift to a reality where we’re together already 😂

Anyway I had become detached and stopped really thinking about him in a romantic way for a while. However, I realized since I basically didn’t care and wasn’t thinking about him, he was becoming distant in response. We hadn’t been really flirty or romantic in a few months, and I hadn’t even talked to him in a week, which was unusual. Although I wasn’t anxious about it or anything, I was still missing talking to one of my best friends. So I just started assuming he would go back to blowing up my phone all day, and I sent him some mental telepathy messages about what I wanted.

Monday morning he messaged me apologizing for being distant. He had been traveling for spring vacation and took a break from his phone. He then basically spent the whole week trying to make up for it, being super attentive, listening to my long ramblings about my void and shifting progress, sending me selfies every day, being more sweet and romantic than he had been in months, and kept telling me how pretty I was 🥰

Keep in mind, all of my AU Butchlander threadfics on Twitter are the unpolished first draft versions of what’ll eventually be polished up into long fics on AO3 under the Shock and Awe series. A more-in-depth breakdown of the choices:

A) Tell the truth. To avoid suspicion, Billy lays low and comes up with an excuse that he's booked for the whole day plays hard to get. It'll lead to Homelander running into "William out on a date" with another Supe—and a jealous Homelander running interference lol and sabotaging it, potentially leading to a "private tour" at The Seven meeting room and some 🔞 inappropriate office s*x ;) the setting depends if I decide to have it as a Vought HQ gala event or a Capes for Christ baptism

The payoff: a lead into the investigation The con: Billy's relationship with one of his long-time regulars is irreversibly damaged (it'll come bite him in the arse much later in the threadfic)

B) Homelander wants to be his sugar daddy. So Billy wants to test that and see if he can get our caped crusader to unknowingly fund his little CIA operation by exaggerating his rent and monthly overhead costs to tug at the hero's supposed generous philanthropist heartstrings. It'll lead to the sugar baby/daddy relationship being developed more aka a lil à la Pretty Woman-styled "shopping spree" with Homelander raining gifts on Billy's head say bye bye to Billy's CIA-assigned base, potentially leading to a 🔞 scene for "William to show him his gratitude"

The payoff: a bigger base and money for a more in-depth investigation The con: Homelander will lowkey stalk monitor him, so it'll be harder to keep his covert activities a secret from him or sneak out

C) The cute "Waiting for you :)" type of option. Billy doubles down on the act and reforms himself into Homelander's dream lover. It's tooth-rotting romantic fluff and flirty back-and-forth banter between them, but keep in mind what'll happen when Homelander inevitably realizes the "William who's literally almost perfect in every way and is too good to be true" isn't actually real much much much later as a direct consequence of this early choice.

The payoff: a happy Homelander (speedrun gaining his trust and affection by taking our bbg on dates <3) The con: the future fallout (and reconciliation) will be much more dramatic
