#i just don't talk about it because the sherlock fandom gave it a bad name

I've seen a couple of posts from you and some other people that John might be homoromantic bi.
Is it because he's only went out with women in canon for sex and that he's had romantic feelings for Sherlock (and possibly Sholto in the past)?
I'm curious.
(He doesn't seem to be in love with Mary that much either.)
Hey Nonny!
Ah, it's a popular interpretation because of that, exactly. I personally read him that way, because, in BBCS at least, he fails spectacularly at forming any believable relationships with women (and don't get me started on Mary, LOL. I'm sorry, but I STRONGLY believe she trapped him with a fake baby – I think John only went with the marriage because he was pissed off at Sherlock for lying to him) but seems to form REALLY strong attachments to men in authoritative (in his eyes) positions. And yes I also mean Lestrade here too. You cannot tell me that John did put out his feelers for Lestrade when they first met, LOL. BUT John fell RIDICULOUSLY hard for Sherlock, and through context clues and the mirroring of Sholto-to-Sherlock, that John didn't fall hard for Sholto too. There's clues in the episode that their falling out happened after Sholto's accident.
I mean... John GRIEVED for Sherlock like a widower. He was "just getting over" Sherlock when he met Mary (who I think was a plant to get Sherlock to come back, by the way). That was THREE YEARS. John "grieved" for Mary for like... a couple months maybe?? Yeah, he didn't give two flying figs about her, sorry. EVEN IN CANON, Mary is RARELY mentioned and is speculated to have been a beard to keep ACD from suffering the same fate as his friend Wilde [THIS LINK ALSO].
This is a topic I love talking about because sexuality is so interesting to me, given my constant re-discovering of my own self. AND because the characters in the show grew up in the same period I did (early 80's and 90's, so Cusp Gen-Xers/Millennials), it makes SO much sense to me that a lot of John's anger and trust issues come from internalized homophobia and misogyny, and he really didn't open up until he became close to men in his life that he respected and admired and treated him with the in-kind respect and kindness. And I just really relate to them so much... it's probably why this show resonated with me so hard and absolutely why my scary journey of Sudden Realization™ happened hahah.
I genuinely believe that John wants to form a fulfilling relationship, but for him, his internal struggle is that he just CANNOT love women no matter how hard he tries – this is a lot of why people joke that John's a horn-dog... he doesn't care who gets his dick wet, just that he gets it. But at the end of the day, I think his internalized issues keep him from accepting that he LOVES Sherlock fiercely, and it's WHY he struggled so hard with Sherlock's death. I mean, after a certain point he gave up dating because Sherlock GAVE him everything he truly wanted. The women in his life were just to get the sex he wasn't getting from Sherlock, LOL. There's also a REALLY old speculation within the fandom that the trip to New Zealand that John took with Sarah went bad because he called out Sherlock's name during sex... soooo yeah.
Anyway, check out these meta from people who are on the Bi spectrum that can dissect John better than me. I recommend the MOST this thread about Harry and John possibly being twins, and how that is relevant to her being a mirror for John in BBCS. People have commented on it with anecdotes from other bi people about their experience with biphobia in the queer community and in the 80s and 90s, and how in this day and age people seem to forget that any smattering of being gay was met with disdain.

So. Yeah. AND with the assumption John's parents were homophobic with context clues via Harry and the lack of his entire family from his wedding, a lot of Bi people in the 80's and 90's just "chose to be straight" to avoid being eviscerated. It's a horrific reality that still exists today, sadly.
I love my little bi-disaster John, and you can pry that headcanon from my cold, dead body, LOL.

I'm with you Maddie. Some of the things I have are sentimental. I'm not going to throw them in the garbage, but I don't buy more and I have returned gifts to the store and made it clear I don't want any new HP merch as gifts.
I'm a fanfic writer, and the first fanfic of mine that got popular and gave me a lot of encouragement was a post-Order of the Phoenix power fantasy in 2003. When Joanne started being toxic I stopped posting new fanfiction, but I never got rid of all the plot bunnies. Sure I moved on to other fandoms, wrote other stories, and got into new things, but I still go back to some of those ideas I never published and play with them in my own head. To the people saying I shouldn't "put it in their face" in the comments, I really did exactly what you wanted. For years I didn't post a word of them, just kept it to myself. Comforting daydreams where I played with my dolls, maybe made a Sims 3 family to poke, and I posted publicly about things like BBC Sherlock and the MCU.
On the other hand under a cut so I'm not 'pushing it in people's faces': I just don't think it matters much to the sales numbers if someone writes a fanfic on AO3 or not. Hey, you clicked read more, you don't want to read this bit the back button is right there.
There has to be space to tell people that they shouldn't spend any money on the Harry Potter franchise. Just that, and not all the rest. It's the same as any other moral argument, you can't come in screaming absolutes and expect to sway someone who is firmly on the other side, they will just ignore it or entrench. It is important that we don't give her our money if this is where she is spending it, but if you say they should throw away things with sentimental value and never speak of it again in public (on a website that lets you block tags no less) then you're going to alienate more people than you convert. People don't get to decide what is and isn't of great emotional value to others and breaking up with a fandom can be very painful.
Lots of people deleted or stopped writing fanfiction in 2019 or 2020 when this all came to light, and it hasn't impacted her bottom line much because she has enough capital now that she can live off investments. If she never got another penny in royalties she'd still be rich as sin for the rest of her life and able to donate to all these same horrible things. Most people who aren't chronically online are going to see that before they see the nebulous connection JKR herself sees between people sketching a cute Severitus comic or writing a steaming PWP and support for her crusade against personal freedom and civil rights. Just because she sees that connection and uses it like a weapon against her own fans to try and punish us for disagreeing with her doesn't mean it's a strong driving force. Let's be real: New people are drawn in by the millions of dollars being continuously spent on marketing the Potter franchise, they'll only find the fanfic stories if they are already deep into the fandom. There is a better argument for fanworks that are more visual, an image can make people curious in ways the title of a drabble can't, but please tell me how many people we think are browsing fanfic categories they know nothing about for anything but the most plot-free PWP?
What's hurting the franchise most is the Fantastic Beasts movies. They suck. Just not an entertaining set of films, and the core message is a hot mess. People should talk more about that, actually. Let's talk about how trash those plotlines are and why the movies feel so uncomfortable when you watch with your brain off. How do you kill a fandom's enthusiasm? Shitty content. It's not even the kind of plot holes that make you want to write a fanfic to pave over them, or a fix-it that sorts out a snarled and messy knot of plot threads. It's not even bad in a fun way that's a bit camp, it's just bad. Her newer books, some written under a pen name to hide them, are also trash (I was gifted a digital copy of a couple that couldn't be refunded so I read them. Save yourself the pain and trouble of reading a pirated copy and just find an in-depth review or Sparknotes summary. Atlas Shrugged was shit but at least I could respect it.)
Going after millennial fans with guilt and blame doesn't work or the boycotts would have been successful. I don't just mean the boycotts against JKR, I mean all the similar ones based on moral outrage where we should feel bad for liking something for reasons that have little to do with the product. It isn't the 40-year-olds who have been in the fandom since they were kids who are buying most of this stuff anyway. The official swag - the bookmarks, the shirts, the diaries, the cheap crap made for $0.25 and sold for $20, the slightly nicer crap sold at BoxLunch - is being bought for new kids and teens who find out about HP after seeing an advertisement by adults who don't care enough to know/remember about the drama showing it to new kids - because the content of the books isn't that bad even if the writer is a flaming hot dumpster fire. Yes, even the stereotypes aren't that bad compared to other children's stories with simplified characters that are one special trait above being a talking trope. It is unfortunately a common thing that happens when you flatten and simplify things too much for the sake of a child audience and then don't have the talent or patience to fix them in the editing process.
The antisemitic video game sales mostly went to Gen Z and I personally know three people who bought it out of spite because they were told they shouldn't - one who had never read or watched anything Potter before. Being an absolutist shuts down the conversation and causes people to stop listening and entrench. Let posts that just say "don't give her money" exist. We need them.
Even better tactics are just leaving the books out of recommendations and making lists of better books. Suggesting alternatives works to prevent new mega-fans in the new generation. My nephew wants a fantasy book? Anne McCaffery's Dragonriders of Pern, it's got dragons and drama and telepathy and teleportation. The Narnia books. So You Want to Be a Wizard by Diane Duane. Tolkien.
The HP characters live rent-free in my head. It's too late for me. My father hasn't quit smoking despite all his attempts and I can't quit thinking about how both Snape and Draco deserved better-written reveal/redemption arcs. Save the next generation, give them Terry Pratchett or Neil Gaiman instead.
I haven't purchased a HP item in close to a decade - I use the books I already had as doorstops or to prop a laptop up for meetings nowadays.
There is NO "death of the author" with JK Rowling - she controls and continues to profit from her IP, and uses that money to fund hate groups.

I am married to someone with an intense, if only midsized, fanbase. Parasocial relationships have been a part of our lives since long before it was a buzzword. It is weirdly fascinating to us, but sometimes a bit frightening. Now that it is the buzzword of the hour, seeing it misattributed is one of our pet peeves. I have seen people claim any amount of interaction on the fan's end is "pick me" (although fan interaction is necessary for his job) or claim that him utilizing social media makes him more culpable for forcing parasocial relationships on the fans because of power imbalances. If he is obvious about promoting something, though, it doesn't go over well because audiences don't want to feel like their being advertised to. Parasocial relationships are sometimes hurtful and scary on our end. 1) There was a woman who had been following his career since the 90s, when he wasn't as well known. She would often send him letters, gifts. Within the past 5 years something changed. I don't know why, but she suddenly began to consider him a boyfriend of sorts. He had never responded to these letters. I discovered she had been catfishing me under my private, locked social media accounts under a fake name, pretending to be someone I knew from high school. He blocked her on all social media. She harassed his coworkers until they blocked her too. A friend of mine said she went on TikTok to brag about how overly sensitive celebrities will block if you call them out for not being better than regular people. Meanwhile, we got a letter from her last year begging for him to forgive whatever she did that offended him. 2) 15ish years ago, in a magazine interview, my husband states his fave color. 2 years ago, I was having lunch with a friend, without my husband. A younger woman approached the table. She asksnif my husband was around and I said that he wasn't. Immediately her tone and expression changed to something nasty. She asked if I would at least give him a painting she had done of him. It was all done in various shades of the same color. I commented on this and she sneered at me with; "It's his fave color." I am still trying to be polite at this point and casually go; "Oh is it?" and she ery rudely snaps that I am his wife and I don't know his fave color like SHE does, so I have had it and say, assertively that I've had enough and she needs to leave. I gave it to my husband and told him the encounter. He laughed about it and said that it wasn't his fave color anymore. I had never thought to ask about his fave color because it just didn't seem important to either of us. He had never asked mine. Her twitter handle was on the painting so I looked it up. Her and a few friends were discussing the incident, using my first and last initials and my husband's first. They were discussing how clearly they know him deeper than I do, that he must secretly hate me if his own wife doesn't understand him like she does, and she altered the story so that she had seen him there earlier so I was clearly lying and that she had timidly approached the table and I had screamed at her that the color was ugly. I don't watch his interviews unless he specifically asks me to, because this is like listening in on someone's work meeting. This has been misconstrued by "fans" that I don't support him. I absolutely do, 200%, probably more than they support their husband's jobs, but watching his interviews isnt how i support him. I support him in our home, in our phone calls, in other ways he appreciates in our personal lives. Parasocial relationships are absolutely fine, until people start to believe they aren't in one, or that it is somehow more substantial than personal relationships the celebrities have with their loved ones. They truly think that they can Sherlock Holmes someone enough to truly know them better than the ones who actually know them in real life. (Sorry if you got this multiple times. Tumblr said it didnt send my ask.)
(Same anon from before) What fans need to understand is that parasocial relationships are good. It is fine to be a fan of someone, support their career, analyze them and write fanfiction and draw fanart of them or their characters. This is how my husband keeps his job, this is completely normal fan behavior. It isnt bad for the sake of existing. But they need to be aware that it is parasocial. I think the problem doesn't lie with parasocial relationships so much as when those in the relationship aren't aware that it is parasocial. Those who are aware of it being parasocial aren't the ones claiming that I do not know my husband but that they do or sending him love letters thinking their in a relationship with him. Those who know it is parasocial know that there is a difference between him answering questions in an interview (after being coached by a professional on how to appear and how to speak, and going into it knowing 90% of the questions) and having a conversation when there aren't cameras around, behind closed door. There is a difference between remembering a list of favorite things and watching someone enjoy those things in the moment every day in person. You just HAVE to be aware that they ARE parasocial.
First of all I gotta say I'm SUPER curious who you are (obviously you don't have to tell me!)! I've heard and seen things like what you described happen in several different fandoms of varying popularity, and I'm sorry you have to deal with that. But you're 100% right, engaging in regular fandom behaviour is perfectly normal, even interacting with creators/actors/musicians/whoever on social media (or in person if you meet them). It's HOW you interact with them. You need to both have your own and respect their boundaries.
I'm a fan of a couple 80s/90s boybands, as you just... ARE as an elder millennial lmao, and I can understand how easy it is as a young teen to go too far and cross boundaries because you just don't have the life experience or really, emotional regulation to interact with your idols in a normal way. But I've seen that now carry on well into adulthood, the things grown-ass women TO THIS DAY say about the wives of some of these band members is shocking (maybe not to you though since you've lived it!). I've had several conversations where I've had to remind people that literally every interaction they've had with these people at official meet & greets and stuff, even to an extent their interactions on social media, it's like the famous-person equivalent of Customer Service Voice. They're working! Of course they're nice to you when you paid like $500 to talk to them for thirty seconds! It doesn't mean you're friends!
(Not shaming paid M&Gs, I've done them, I'd do them again, it's an opportunity my 13 year old self never thought she'd had but like... I'm not secretly dating a Backstreet Boy because I met them for five seconds, y'know?)
Anyway yeah... all this to say, you're right. Parasocial relationships are a natural part of fandom and they're FINE and GOOD you just gotta respect boundaries.

Queerbaiting
Let's talk little, let's talk good.
I love Sherlock Fandom. I truly do love it, its craziness, and its genius. I love Johnlock ship, and I love reading theories.
But there's something I absolutely don't agree with:
People believing Mofftiss are queerbaiting. They aren't.
I enjoy reading Fanfics, looking at Fanarts. The artists of the Fandom are very talented, and it's amazing to watch the show under that new light, sometimes.
But the show itself isn't /that/ gay.
When I first watched it, I saw no Johnlock, and I believe many people are like me.
I think the show may just talk about a very strong and extraordinary friendship.
To me, it hasn't been queerbaiting.
On the opposite.
They adapted Sherlock to the modern societies.
If nowaday, two men decided to move in together and go on adventures, people would think "Oh, they're gay!"
And that's what the show is showing, when people assume Sherlock and John are in a relationship.
Mrs.Hudson's speech isn't a hint about Sherlock's or John's sexuality.
She is simply reacting like people would react nowaday, assuming who are gays and who aren't.
Yes, we can see a few of Sherlock's behaviors as 'gay'... But he has also 'straight' behavior. The Woman, for example. She mattered, no matter what extreme shippers think.
The show would make a mistake if it chose a side. All the fans are free to ship whoever they want, to make stories, write and draw arts and express their theories.
But the show isn't showing Johnlock as canon, like it isn't showing Adlock as canon.
Since the beginning, John says he's straight.
And since the beginning, Sherlock says he is married to his work.
Sherlock, who is a brilliant, amazing and unique man, mysterious about his feelings. Exactly like in the books.
Let's talk about the theory about Asexual!Lock, then. The fans believing the detective is asexual have more than enough reasons to do so.
If Mofftiss made Johnlock canon, it would be queerbaiting toward the ones who sees Sherlcok as asexual, right?
My point is: The show isn't queerbaiting. It is giving us the freedom to watch and ship whoever we like, but there's no hints.
Is someone in love with his flatmate going to lock him up in a lab after having drugged him?
Sherlock was sadly looking at the empty chair before the wedding, right?
But it can simply be a man who is feeling lonely, now that he lives on his own.
It doesn't have to be love between them. Not romantic love, anyway.
The show only shows us two men, caring deeply for each other.
It isn't queerbaiting.
I'm not against Sherlock being gay, asexual, straight, anything he bloody is.
But I'm against fans who are shaming Mofftiss because they are unhappy their ship isn't canon.
Even if Johnlock isn't canon, Mofftiss gave us many queers characters.
So many LGBT+ characters, and so many more LGBT+ canon than most of shows will ever have.
John's sister, introduced at the first episode? Lesbian.
Irene Adler? Lesbian.
Sherlock's uncle? A cross dresser.
The couple having the hotel at Baskerville? Homosexuals, gays, and giving sweet names to each others in front of the camera.
And let's not even start talking about Moriarty/Eurus who are somehow queers in their madness even if they're both unhealthy.
I've read many times on the Fandom that "queers characters are all bad guy in Sherlock show."
Alright.
Sherlock.
Is.
A.
Police show.
About cases.
Criminals.
There's no many episodes, and no many characters, and there's no useless characters.
I think it would be so much more insulting toward the LGBT+ to add useless LGBT+ characters only for the sake of showing off how tolerant they are, than having LGBT+ characters with an actual personality.
Should I even add that most of the characters on the show have a sexuality we don't know about?
What I mean is, let's all being intelligent. We can like a ship, love it, and create art about it. But being mad at the people who made this amazing show only because we are unhappy our ship isn't canon is not smart.
It isn't respectful. It isn't good.
And I'm certain Sherlock says the same.

Writebr Intro
Writeblr Intro Time!
Hiya! This is so overdue and I apologize for that lol. I’ve been meaning to write this but school seems to always be getting in the way of just that. Writing. But here I am finally writing this! And yes my username is a pun of my own last name but I just couldn’t resist.
So basically, I really want to surround myself with other writers and have stumbled across tons of writeblr’s (I think that’s what they’re called lol). Instantly I was in love and wanted more of what the community had to offer. I’ve been a self-proclaimed “author” or writer since my early years of grade school. I was that child in the back of the class with ADHD that couldn’t sit still (the cliche bouncing leg and always chewed down nails) and had what my mother called an “overactive imagination”. My notebooks in high school were often filled with wild stories about “galaxies far far away” or dystopias with cruel governments ruled by dictators. Now I’m in my second year of college swamped with classes about the Psychology of criminals (or I like to call the science of murder), and trying to find time to write a novel. So the struggle is real my dudes.
A little about Me:
Hana
20
She/Her
Pisces
Asexual
Forensic Psychology Major and English with a concentration in Writing Minor
Book hoarder
Dog Mom
Vintage AF
Low Key Emo Punk because I’m no average white girl!
History nerd (Love learning about the old wars and cultures)
Movie nerd (There’s an endless stack of DVDs in my house)
Fandoms:
The Mandolorian (or the ManDADolorian)
Star Trek
Star Wars
Hannibal
X-Files
King Falls Am
Welcome to Nightvale
Transformers (Obviously not the bad movies lol. Bumblebee is baby and must be protected always.)
Good Omens
Sherlock
Lord of the Rings
Marvel (There are so many shows and movies in this category we would be here all day if I tried to list them.)
Timeless (Not sure if the fandom is still alive after what the writers did to one of our ships lol)
DC (I’m a huge Batman geek and adore Wonderwoman, but I take the good with the bad when it comes to this fandom. Especially movie-wise anymore.)
And there’s probably more but my memory isn’t working currently.
Goals?. . . maybe:
Get my novel finished (This has literally been on my To-Do List for who knows how long.)
Meet more writers/new writers.
Improve my poetry (I suck at poetry so I bad I never let it see the light of day, so I need to work on it.)
Start my bullet journal.
Wips:
Okay by now you all know I have at least 1 Wip because I mentioned getting a freaking novel done, but just as a precaution as to what I mean by Wip or Wips. I get distracted quite easily, for some odd reason my brain absolutely loves to jump from one idea to another for no absolute reason. Like WTF dude we already have an idea we’re working on why do you keep bringing all these new ones to me like stray dogs. And like any good dog Mom or distracted writer, I want to keep all the ideas/stray dogs. So, when I say Wip I mean “Look at this cool idea I came up with” and I’ll make sure to specify which one is hogging most of my time.
Renegade: Dystopian, Thriller, Post-Apocalypse, and Science Fiction.
This is my baby. Most of my free time is dedicated to adjusting plotlines, character arc’s, fixing freaking plot holes, and other important stuff other than just plain writing. I’m hoping to finish this also monster of a story by 2020 and get it published. So big stuff!
“So tell me little wolf do you want to punish those who have wronged you?” An assassin known as the Crimson Ghost makes their way through the corrupt city-state of Ashton completing a job given to them by the Black Rose. What is a seemingly normal job though turns into something far more complicated when they stumble upon the fractions of an abandoned notebook from the past. A past the Republic is trying to desperately hide and bury no matter what. On the other side of the world in the Republic’s capital Eshar, plainly referred to as “The Prodigy” or “machine” by his superiors, Eric Coalwood has built a life upon the ashes of his family, striving to meet the high expectations set before him by his mentor General Wolfheart. However, his life falls out of its normal day to day routine when the unexpected is asked of him. Command a task force made up of the Republic’s most wanted or his life is over. Eric doesn’t need reasons for why he must do what he has to, all he needs are orders and the Republic is more than happy to give them. Either way the clock is ticking for both the Crimson Ghost and the Republic’s prodigy and with time running out they both have two options. Either get over their different beliefs concerning the Republic or allow the world to once again succumb to war but this time nobody is going to survive it. “Legends are slippery things. For the glory that coats them hides the pain, suffering and death that created them.”
The Trouville Files: Dystopian, Thriller, Post-Apocalypse, and Science Fiction.
Not my biggest priority but definitely one of them considering the plot of this story. I mainly use this wip as a reference for Renegade because it’s actually the prequel to it. Also, it’s great to use as writing practice when I’m plagued with writer’s block for Renegade or frustrated with a plot hole. So this is my double-edged sword that does a lot of good.
“Death in these black days is neither kind nor quick.” The year is 2153, the world we know is nothing more than a wasteland strewn with the dead and a sky being choked by their ashes, not glorious and thriving but desolate and starving. The Red Death, a pandemic with a steady progression and a gruesome countdown to the demise of those infected. No one outruns it or survives it. “United we stand, divided we fall.” The Allied Nations, a totalitarian superpower, promised a united people but all they gave this world was more death and destruction. The Red Death isn’t the only thing slowly killing humanity anymore, we are in the form of the War of Broken Pacts. The spark of revolution is lit, but if it will remain so is a question asked by everyone. Does it stand a chance against the iron-fisted government holding the people in shackles? “Rebel with a cause.” Genius Medical Officer for The People’s Republic, Cyprus Ramiro works day and night in search of a cure for the Red Death exterminating hundreds, at least before this war kills him first. But he is also a man on the run and the rebellion can only shelter him for so long. “Duty over pain.” Cunning Spy and Soldier, Orion Ultor is ordered by the Allied Nations to infiltrate and gather information on the ever-growing People’s Republic. In bold letters is Search and Destroy; make a ruin of the rebellion and ensure the Allied Nations remains as it should -- unquestionably in power. No matter the cost unless he wants to suffer the consequences again. “If we fall we shall rise from the ashes like a phoenix.” They should have never met, battlefields don't make good friends. It wasn't fate, it wasn't destiny, only war throwing people together. The Allied Nations is trying to stamp out something they fear, but can they before the Red Plague? Or will humanity find itself extinct.
Beyond his point is where I house my stray dogs/ideas
Hiraeth: Paranormal, Horror, Mystery, and Thriller.
Scooby-doo who?
Hiraeth means a homesickness for a home which you cannot return. That is how Arcane feels like she’ll never be home no matter how hard she tries to connect with her family. The closest she feels to being home is with her friends and in the worn leather seats of the van they all pitched in to buy. It all started out as a way to pass time and for all of them to escape their families because to be honest parents never understand, but it all turned sideways when a simple “ghost hunting trip” stirred something that was meant to remain buried. The truth never remains buried though, not really, somehow it will always creep back in ugly and twisted. Arcane has never felt “at home” but she’ll do whatever it takes to keep what she considers her family safe.
Sweet Dreams: Historical Fiction, Thriller, and Romance.
A literal dream turned into story plot and no I’m not kidding.
The Red String of Fate, The Lovers, and War. These are the three elements intertwined within the plot of Sweet Dreams but before anyone makes any assumptions this isn’t some chummy rom-com. There will be tears and heart strings may get yanked clean out because the angst is real. War and love never mix well, it leaves a sour taste in ones mouth and makes the mind question things it shouldn’t. Like is the woman in his dreams the same woman he sees in all his dreams? Constantly he somehow ends up spotting that same ruby red lipstick, honey golden eyes, and brunette hair laying in perfect curls. She’s everywhere except in his actual life. They say you and your soulmate share dreams, living proof of how intertwined souls are. She doesn’t believe in love or the idea of souls, not with the monsters roaming around the countryside and battlefield carrying assault rifles. Society tells her where her place is, but she disagrees and rather create her own destiny.
The Prophet: Paranormal, Thriller, Post-Apocalypse, and Science Fiction.
A short story I can’t seem to let go or it doesn’t want to let me go, but either way, this story has the makings for something great. It also at times seems strikingly similar to Good Omens, so don’t be surprised.
There’s no anti-christ in this story, he already has a book about himself so let’s not make another one besides there are other stories that need to be told. Such as, have you ever heard of modern day prophets and I’m not talking about those people with cardboard signs saying “the end is near!” or giant churches with people preaching about the end times. No, I’m talking about a kid with messy hair and dark circles under their eyes because sleep is no longer a choice due to migraines that plague them every night. Migraines that bring weird cryptic messages that make one question their own sanity. And what happens when strange people start asking about said migraines and messages?
Virago: Fantasy, Thriller, Historical Fiction, and Romance.
I’m not a huge fantasy reader, for some reason I can’t stay invested in them, but here I am with a fantasy story in my wips. It has mages, knights, assasination plots, and one super badass general who takes zero shit from her king. That’s right women empowerment, my dudes! I don’t really have much of a synopsis inline or a plot because this is only of those wips I let rattle around in my brain from time to time. But I will say it does give me that LOTR vibe but also Game of Thrones.
Don’t be surprised if you see my stray doggos from time to time because I will admit I love to play around with storyboards. Even if I don’t have a fully planned out plot put together for it.
And that concludes this what was supposed to be short Writeblr Intro. I hope I have peaked some of your guys’ interests because the community definitely got a hold of minee. Feel free to send me a message about anything I mentioned (even if it’s just fandom shit I don’t care) and don’t be shy. I’m a huge introvert but somehow love talking, so don’t worry it won’t be awkward and odds are I’m equally nervous about conversation lol. Also, feel free to add me to any taglist and reblog/like if you’re active and would like more Writeblr mutuals!
Happy Writing,

hi there, it's been a while since last time I sent an ask so I was just wondering how are you doing? :D for me it's been a lot of things going on at once but I'm somewhat managing and I hope you are doing well. I wanted to send an ask around time qnf vlogs came out but I didn't have much time and then after my brain decided to remind me of and reignite my interest in bbc sherlock lmao so I didn't keep up with what was happening in the fandom that much anymore. I hope you don't find this stressful or intrusive or anything like that, I just wondered how are you doing these days but don't feel obligated to answer if you don't want to! - qnf enjoyer ^_^
Qnf enjoyer!!! Hi!! ^-^ Always good to hear from you so don't worry, I actually logged on for the first time since January the other day so great timing. Being kept busy always makes time fly, I hope it's not too stressful or overwhelming all the same though! Don't worry at all about not having time, I'm in a similar situation, started an internship early January and I've never felt more active in my life (going well tho!! Thankfully). I actually owe you such an apology for never getting back to your well thought out, well spoken asks after all this time 😭 I have written answers that aren't even fleshed out enough for me to get my point across (as you can see I do like to use 5 lines to describe something instead of 1 😍), I'm a shambles and I'm deeply sorry for it.
Ok I'm not even gonna lie to you I was thinking about rewatching Sherlock like two weeks ago, that show was my fave years ago. They definitely (in my opinion, potentially wildly popular I never actually was in the fandom space) dropped the ball on it as soon as s3? Maybe? When they gave us no explanation for the big s2 finale (spoiler free even though we've both seen it, I don't know why 😭). Kind of maybe in the mood to perhaps read the Sherlock books instead, but it will be to the faces of Benedict and whatever johns real name is, I think it actually is John right? I'm actually finishing off Breaking bad (after like 6 months I'd be quicker make my own spin off show, it all started because I wanted to get Qnfs references and now watch the upload with Mr man who's name escapes me) so everything's coming after that. My friend recommended the walking dead, so I'll share that rec with u lmk if you've seen or if it's worth? She said she watched it like 9 years ago and is just picking up where she left off 😳 my memory would not be on the same wave of that idea ngl. Alsoo on the anime front (who can relate) started watching Mirai Nikki and also Sonic X 🥴 (that's literally the most self describing sentance I've ever wrote).
I'm the exact same as you with not being involved in this fandom space anymore it's so bad I hadn't seen one stream since like January, but I stopped in of course for Qnf bowling blog (really enjoyed it tbh) and I was like wow I miss them only for quackity to fly to England the following week. However comma despite being excited for it out of nowhere the vibes were not as fun as I would've expected ngl. Idk if you keep up with like dtqk updates on Twitter but that's where I read the cliff notes summary of what they've been at every so often but dearly beloved dream went publically blabbing about George feeling depressed in England??? King,, what? What are you doing talking about your friends personal life like this 😭 so I think that probably put a little damper on things for me. I enjoyed the stream where snf shared a mouse / keyboard, and Quackitys stream was good energy but I haven't been able to sit through Karl's / Tina's streams without turning it off as soon as i start. So if you need recs this is all I've got (so sorry) or if you've watched any of these do let me know your thoughts!! I honestly think this might be it for me (I think I might be hate watching at this point), mcc was my shining star in the dark for reigniting my enjoyment and George is not partaking amen I'll get the hint king. Side note, but I've been much more into hermitcraft lately 😳 big grian and scar enjoyer, I've been watching for a while but s9, last life, and grians hardcore series is v worth, you've probs seen but if not, they're v entertaining but chill.
I'm so sorry for the monstrosity this became, why stop now let me copy in Arthur Conan Doyles Sherlock (idk what he called the book) on here while I'm at it, wouldn't even look long next to this. Feel free to stop into my ask box whenever legend, update me on anything you want I'm always down for a chat (even if my history doesn't showcase that well)

Not to be That Person, but I'm gonna try and explain because I have been dying to talk about this mess because I don't think I'll ever be able to make peace with it otherwise.
OK, so. In chronological order.
Image 1: our horrible story begins on the morning of November 5th.
The US election has been going since November 3rd. The polls are closed, but due to pandemic-related complications (IE, mail-in ballots, ballot counters social distancing) some states are still counting their ballots. There are four offenders: Georgia, Nevada, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania. Nevada is the most egregious, being the one state in the west that hasn't been called yet, and the one that seems most likely to turn out blue. Keep an eye on the others, though.
Image 6: Trump starts throwing a shitfit on Twitter: "STOP THE COUNT!" News outlets report that Trump, in slightly more words, is bitching about how mail-in votes are being counted. Twitter explodes with jokes about Dracula from Sesame Street.
Image 3: Nevada flips blue.
Suddenly Chapter 290 of the My Hero Academia manga is leaked on the internet, wherein a major antagonist, Dabi, is revealed to secretly be another character named Toya. It's not really important to this post, and definitely not the most memorable thing to happen on this day, it just kind of set the mood.
Georgia's projection is blue all of a sudden. Philadelphia follows shortly after.
Image 2: I log into Tumblr for the first time that afternoon and am greeted with a very confused person on the very top of my dash wondering why their roommates are flipping their shit over some people named Dean and Cas. I finish reading the post, look up, and see that twenty new posts were made in the time that it took me to read that.
To back up slightly: back in the early 2010s, tumblr's major export was content for a sort of fandom Beowulf cluster known as SuperWhoLock, a combination of the Supernatural, Doctor Who, and Sherlock fandoms. The degree to which or reason why they were interconnected is contentious, but they were all definitely loved by teenage girls, many of whom shipped each show's male leads with each other. In Supernatural’s case, it was Dean, a monster hunter, and Castiel, an angel.
The reasons Sherlock fell out of favor is its own post, but to sum up the linked Sarah Z video, it was explosive. The Sherlock fanbase’s combined cultures of reading very deeply into perceived clues and of desperately hoping for the two male leads to have a romance culminated in, when the fourth, final, and objectively terrible season aired, a frantic conspiracy that there was a secret good season with Johnlock in it that would air at any given number of predicted times. They were all wrong, and the Sherlock fandom is mostly radioactive fallout now.
Supernatural, meanwhile, fell victim to the usual CW writing decay, and also its fanbase kind of realized that as much as it was hinted at that Dean might be bisexual or accidentally homoerotic his relationship with Castiel was, the show tended to treat queerness itself as both set-up and punchline.
People gave up on “Destiel,” as the pairing as called, and the show as a whole, as the writing got ridiculously bad and everyone found out what queerbaiting is. Most left. But, critically, a few people were still around, or at least came back, in 2020 to see the final season.
So, several episodes before the series finale of Supernatural, right before the end of the episode, Castiel confesses that he loves Dean. Dean does not reciprocate and Castiel dies immediately, and goes to the Empty, a kind of storage area for angels. This comes to be known as “turbo-hell.”
The internet goes apeshit.
Very shortly after this, the rumor emerges that Vladimir Putin is resigning, which turned out to be false but was so out of left field that it became synonymous with Destiel overnight and I’m surprised it isn’t even in this post, even though the whole incident was referred to as “DestielPutinElection” for a solid week.
Ouran Host Club season 2 is announced. Again, not on here, but that macro does not encapsulate just how insane this day was.
Image 4: And then Sherlock season 5 is announced, and I’m not kidding.
Image 5: And finally, this one. The creator of the post must have misremembered, because the video in which the Zodiac Killer’s code was cracked wasn’t posted until mid-December.
The message reads: I hope you are having lots of fun in trying to catch me. I am not afraid of the gas chamber because it will send me to paradice (sic) all the sooner because I now have enough slaves to work for me.
We still don’t know who it is, but now we know that he can’t spell, so... good for us, I guess.
And that’s what happened on November 5th, 2020. There’s a few things in here that didn’t, and a lot that did but I left out because this was getting way too long as it is.
You just had to be there
