his ability to somehow dodge any paparazzi and answer very short questions during press conferences made every view into his personal life shine like gold.

based on an instagram story ( that was taken down in less than 10 minutes ) where a picture of him with his arms around a woman in a bathroom mirror, the media could assume he was in a relationship. in that photo, however, the woman's face was not visible, so the questioned still remained...

what woman could capture this mans heart?

he hadn't cared, not really. a photo was nothing to him, but you were everything. he tried really hard to keep your identity private, he didn't want you to be absorbed into a world of cameras always in your face.

but after he made the game winning goal of a very important game...all he wanted to do was see you.

maybe it was the way he could see you in the section you'd always sat, or maybe it was his ego wanting to tell everyone "yeah i'm the best soccer player, and yeah i have the best girl, what about it?"

as all of the adoring fans rushed the field, including you, he just wanted to see you. he knew, realistically, he should just go back to the locker room and come meet you afterwards like he usually did, but not today.

he shrugged off ever reporter and fan that wanted to talk to him, which was nothing new, but instead of leaving to the locker room, they watched as he walked over to you

Okay going to try and keep this simple bc I've said parts of it before

So as most of you know, I've been sick for 3 months now

I've now been on two rounds of steroids, and currently on my third round of antibiotics, which are basically keep me fucntional, not improving

besides general discomfort and pain, my memory has been pretty shot at times, I will go through the day and barely remember what I did/what I'm doing/what I need to do

as someone who had brain fog caused by covid a few years ago, this was genuinely a scary experience because ultimately, this has been worse

i've felt out of control of my body, having times where I'm mid thought and then instantly lose it

this is not my normal, I usually pride myself on my memory, so losing it has been incredibly devastating and scary

this was not helped by the fact that the quick care I went to (THREE TIMES for this) basically kind of sort of tried to gaslight me into believing nothing could be done and that it's not an infection

so not only has this entire thing has gotten dragged out so much more, which makes me sad tbh, but I've also felt like I've been going crazy bc it felt like no one was believing me when i said I was sick and not getting any better (including friends, family, coworkers etc, though unintentional on their parts to be fair)

I feel like I've lost three months of my life and coming to terms with that has been, yeah

on top of all that, I'm still in school AND doing grad stuff, and while the school side of things has been okay (thank god), grad's had it's moments, won't get into it but have had multiple issues with my advisor that have been at times just really tough to deal with

Confused spirit got pushed to the back burner, because i quite literally at times could not think, and when it comes to this fic, where there's multiple ongoing plot threads, characterizations, lore, and so on to keep track of, it was just, impossible to me to even consider writing for it

having shorter stuff like promptober, the oneshots and such was great to keep me writing, and also still interact with everyone in the community, plus i had a lot of fun with them so that helped too

this is all to say that I do sincerly apologize for the delay, and at the very least I should've clearly communicated about there being a hiatus, when this all started I thought i'd be down for two weeks max, then as that time kept increasing I just kept putting it off and putting it off because i thought i was going to get better, and then I didn't

I do this for fun and for nothing else, fic writing isn't content (it's engaging with fandom) and i have to remind myself of that sometimes but given that I've been around in some capacity on and off I feel I should've said something in some regard

Having said all that, I'm doing okay now! Still sick, but as long as I'm on meds I'm functional, stuff is getting managable with grad, and hopefully have some fun things coming up irl! Point is, the last three months haven't been the best, but they've been alright, due in part to all the support you all have given me, so thank you for that, can't say it enough :)

There’s a hot pink bicycle thrown haphazardly outside, a large tree in the yard, and the smell of fresh bread and hot food wafting out the open windows, as the chill in the air threatens fall. Children's shoe prints litter the yard, and a white truck sits in the gravel driveway. There are always prickly gumballs underfoot. The house breathes, almost as though it is alive. The door to a little white house with blue shutters opens on a bright summer day, a teenager all but slamming the door shut on their way out. The teenager will be back by evening, but they try not to think about it. The little white house and the little blue shutters are the whole world, and it’s small. It’s constricting, almost suffocating. Dreams of larger cities and more exciting adventures litter the bedroom walls within, posters of popular bands and exotic places, hopes and fears, fluttering in the breeze of the open window, breathing like the house breathes. Fireworks burst over a little white house with little blue shutters, and the animals within its walls scatter. The roof doesn’t falter. It never has. It weathers rain, thunder, hot summers, tree limbs, and emotional breakdowns. It breathes, but it always sits overhead, more certain than death or taxes, as clear and strong as the sky itself above it. Snow piles into the yard of a little white house with blue shutters. In the white of the snow, the house begins to disappear, but the shutters stand out like little splashes of paint. Shouts of joy and creaking of tree branches not used to the wet winter weather echo in the yard. Shoe prints aside paw prints mark well worn pathways before it melts. The snowman in the yard only lives a day or two, and winks out of existence with the southern heat less than 48 hours after he’s built. The door to a little white house with blue shutters opens as a new mother enters for the first time, and the souls who occupied for so long step away, the posters and dreams of the city stripped from the walls within, boxed inside of both cardboard and minds. Floorboards creak but never bend as a little white house with blue shutters breathes, a new family growing within, blossoming. The house warms with the spirits of young children as the weather turns cold. A familiar face graces the door of a little white house with blue shutters, many leaves fallen and many storms weathered since its last new children. Recognition crosses young eyes, sleepovers and birthday parties flashing in electrical pulses re-experienced in the space of the mind, brought back by that particular shade of blue. A little white house with blue shutters becomes a little white house with green shutters. And red shutters. Bedrooms change hands, and rain falls on the tin roof, playing its music yet again, for new ears.

The door closes on a little white house on a nowhere road that no one drives unless they have to. A breeze passes through as the door closes, sighing goodbye to the most recent souls to have taken shelter within its walls. The large tree in the front has fallen, the colors of the shutters have changed many times, the grass has not been cut, and no footprints add pathways to the land any longer.

A little white house sits, empty. No souls within, all doors and windows open in one last desperate cry, begging in vain for the breath it once carried. The tin roof taps a hello to no one as hailstones challenge it. The tin that has never before faltered gives way, no longer needing to protect the space underneath. The floors that were once as certain and solid as the earth itself begin to bow. No feet shuffle across the hardwood in socks in the winter, and none have disturbed the dust as it’s collected slowly. No ceiling fans have cooled down the hot air in summer, and no lights have been flipped on in the morning in a very long time.

A little white house sits on a nowhere road, no tree to shade the land around it, and no toys outside. No footprints leading to or from the stairs, and a whisper of a breeze through doors never to be closed again the last breath it’ll ever see. A collection of wood and plaster and memories, no longer a shelter from the elements or the difficulties of life.

But in the mind of a select few, a little white house with blue shutters still sits, pristine in all its flaws, smells of fresh hot food still wafting into the front yard, a big tree still shading the yard from the hot summer sun, as a radio outside still plays old music.

In the mind of one man, a tin roof still plays music in the rain.

i get why people would opt to say walter was a terrible person since the beginning, but i think that's like, the most boring takeaway you can get about his character. he was already insecure and prideful from the start, and it's what would hurt him and keep hurting him. but like, being insecure and prideful are regular traits any regular person can have. the actions that he makes because of these traits, which in turn keep fueling his ego more and more, are what makes him an interesting character. and he was already pretty capable of hurting other people, but he wasn't doing it out of malice, but more because of careless selfishness at first. what makes walter terrifying is that the more he does it, the more he becomes aware of what he's doing, and the more he keeps going and keeps being more and more meticulous and deliberate about what he does that hurts people and even to the point when it was specifically to hurt people.

i think the traits were there in walter from the beginning—the pilot did a pretty good job of establishing how powerless he's felt all his life and just how susceptible he is to letting this newfound perceived power get to his head so easily. he even says this explicitly in 5x06 "Buyout" when he tells jesse "i'm not in the money business, i'm in the empire business". but saying he was this monster from the start kind of implies he didn't undergo through a character arc throughout the show when it's quite literally what he did. he got worse. so much worse. through mostly the fault of his own fragility.

    Of course, Vivian waits for him to finish speaking first before blinking, rather dumbfounded. Ah... were her words somehow lost in translation, she wonders? No sooner does she realize this, she'll then subsequently grimace before letting out a weak chuckle, because when it came down to it, she had completely forgotten Mizumachi happened to be quite the himbo... for better or for worse. Why, if it weren't for the fact Vivian already knew English wasn't his first language, she may find herself growing flustered over having the compliment redirected back at her, but coming from his lips, it did not sound the very least bit sexy.

    "Er... listen, when I say 'treat', I meant I'll be the one footing the entire bill; in other words, your burgers will be paid for by me," Vivian finally clarifies while resisting the urge to add 'Capiche?' at the end. Honestly, the whole entire time, she felt stupid for even having to explain it, but considering this was Mizumachi she's talking about... well, perhaps further simplification was necessary. Regardless, she'll soon turn once she figures out the perfect place to take him.

    "Now, come! We have a food truck to go to," Vivian announces, and upon giving Mizumachi one final peek peek over her shoulder, makes a beckoning motion with her hand before setting off. Naturally, she planned on taking him to Wakwak Burger, a food truck in Vancouver that was known to sell Japanese burgers for the very affordable price of $2.85. Granted, after recently selling off her old Miku figurine on eBay, she could afford to take him someplace fancier, but seeing as though Wakwak Burger was way closer to where they were, Vivian concluded Mizumachi would appreciate her choosing a place within walking distance.

    "Oh yeah, that reminds me! How many burgers can your black hole of a stomach manage, Kenny? 5? 10?" came her eventual query, because sure enough, it finally dawned on her she has no idea how much Mizumachi could actually eat.

Mizumachi laughs in tandem, as he was always the sort to laugh along with others, even if he didn’t always know what they were laughing at. Just a team player who wants to join in on the fun!

“I guess so! Thinking uses up a lot of calories.”

Brain food, or whatever they call it, yeah? His body needed a lot of calories for his active lifestyle for one, but it also had to work extra hard in thinking a bunch for classes! There was that extra layer of difficulty because he had to attend classes being taught in another language.

“Hmmm… what am I craving…burgers? I’m good with anything though!”

He thinks about it and feels his mouth watering. He can’t help but crave his go-to convenient meal for whenever you’re super hungry. Burgers. A ton of burgers and fries! It’s a technique he learned a while back, but dipping fries into a shake is a God-tier combination!

“I eat a lot you know? Since you’ve been a good girl, that means it’ll be my treat too! Haha!”

Being the simple sort he was, and some nuances not translating over quite as nicely, he didn’t think much of it, being called a ‘good boy.’ As such, he didn’t see an issue with returning the favor by calling her a ‘good girl’ either. Well, even if he did understand, he wouldn’t have been bothered by it anyways. Guys have perverted conversations with each other from time to time, so it wouldn’t have upset him in any way- but he might have been surprised? That would’ve been the extent of it.

He seems like the kind of guy who would grunt and moan a little, he's not quiet but he's not loud either, as he wants to hear his partner's sounds most of all, but sometimes he can't be quiet either cause it just feels too good. This guy is painfully touch starved and is making up for lost time once he's with a partner, so ends up being unable to censor all the sounds that come out of him from feeling someone else's touch. I'd say his volume is about medium, though, as he does have some self-control. However, once he starts to feel remotely close to orgasm, he will get increasingly more whiny. Increasingly desperate towards climax and starts begging you or saying things, it's so garbled though you don't even know if it's proper sentences or just nonsensical babble. Oscar groaned from where he was sitting next to his sister. She giggled as she typed away on her phone. He gave her his deadliest glare.

"Please stop flirting with Lando."

Ivy looked up from her phone. She locked in and then put in down in the seat next to her. "I can do whatever I want." Her phone made a beeping noise again, indicating another message coming through.

"Vee, seriously."

Ivy ignored him as she opened her phone again. She could barely contain her laughter as she watched the video on her phone. Hattie had just sent her the video she took of Oscar during the outro she did for her song Nonsense.

It's a thing she started on her previous tour. She usually tried to make them as dirty as possible, but with her family in the crowd the other night she tried to keep it as PG as possible.

Oscar appeared very uncomfortable throughout the whole video. The outro wasn't too bad, in Ivy's opinion: broke up cause the size was underwhelming. Tried to give him pointers, wasn't helping. Maybe I just need a boy from Melbourne.

Ivy grinned as she entered the paddock alongside Lily and her mum. Oscar had instructed her to stay far, far away from any of the drivers.

She followed her mother towards the McLaren hospitality. Her mother seemed to be some kind of local celebrity here as she was greeted by the many people in orange- sorry papaya, shirts.

They soon found her sisters Hattie, Edie and Mae sat in a corner with their step-father, Chris. She greeted them all with hugs and kisses on the cheek.

Ivy settled next to Hattie as she looked around the hospitality. She opened her phone to scroll through Instagram to kill some time whilst she waited for Oscar to come and say hello.

She's currently on a break from touring. She will return to The Eras Tour for the London shows in June and August.

Ivy and Hattie giggled as they read through the many comments underneath the post on Instagram that informed the world of Ivy's F1 Paddock debut.

Oscar joined his family soon after. Ivy smiled at the man standing next to him. Dark, curly hair; tanned skin and a boyish grin on his lips. This could only be Lando Norris. Oscar made the introductions between the F1 driver and the singer.

"I love your album, it's on in the garage a lot to annoy good ol' Osc over here."

Ivy grinned as she looked at the flustered expression on her brother's face. Lando quickly put an arm around Ivy's shoulder and pulled her in close. "Maybe your next album could include a couple of songs about me."

"Right," Oscar clapped his hand as he broke the laughing duo up. "That's enough."

Ivy and Lando looked at each other, both of their faces red with laughter.

Ivy walked around the paddock on the Sunday after the race. Her family had gone back to the McLaren hosiptality to wait for Oscar to come back from his post race interviews. She opted to have a look around. She hadn't had the time yet.

He had just missed out on the podium. P4. Ivy was still immensly proud of him.

She stopped in her tracks to look around. She squinted her eyes, the orange papaya of McLaren catching her eye in the distance. As she turned around to walk back, she collided with something hard.

Someone. Someone's toned chest.

She looked up, "I'm sorry I-," her words got lost in mouth somewhere. Her green eyes were met with the most gorgeous blue eyes she'd ever seen.

"It's okay."

Ivy quickly took a step back. "I'm Ivy, O-,"

"Oscar's sister. I know, I like your music." The man shook her hand. "Max. Nice to meet you."
