Mikesys and how I think they'd respond to getting asked what pronouns they'd genuinely use and why
(from a system ^w^) Mike
Tumblr media
"He/Him"
I can't decide if he'd internally actually be a cis man but no way he'd acknowledge he's anything but. If he was suspecting he was trans though this question'd totally freak him out.
Chester
Tumblr media
"Just use my damn name! Damn kids these days always ᵐᵃᵏⁱⁿᵍ ᵗʰⁱⁿᵍˢ ᶜᵒᵐᵖˡⁱᶜᵃᵗᵉᵈ ᵇᵃᶜᵏ ⁱⁿ ᵐʸ ᵈᵃʸ…" [He/None]
I think Chester would not care for the question. It is much simpler for people to just use his name when addressing him especially given the whole system thing. Also to note while he's old I don't think he'd be transphobic given, A, being part of a system is already a complicated marginalized sense of identity and B, Svetlana is right there and Mike wouldn't identify as anything other than a man.
Manitoba
Tumblr media
"He/Him"
I honestly think Manitoba would have the least complicated relationship with gender identity. He is a masculine presenting dude and very assured in that fact. No notes.
Vito
Tumblr media
Would not answer the question. [He/Him]
While I think Vito's internal sense of gender identity would be being a man, I think, being formed from that kind of trauma, he kind of accepts his role as always being a sexual object. To Vito, any acknowledgement of him having a gender identity or sexuality would be antithetical to what he would feel his purpose was.
Svetlana
Tumblr media
"She/Her"
I think Svetlana's pronouns would be heavily influenced by the reduction of her personhood both brought on by Mike's internalized ableism and singlet's agreement with it and the fact that the majority of the time she is misgendered. While I think with someone she's very comfortable with or with more widespread acceptance she would likely use "She/They/None" but until that time she prefers the assurance that comes with being refereed to as She/Her. Because They/Them could be referring to the whole system and therefore is likely associated with her being reduced to part of their collective and she/her pronouns are a more sure-fire way of feeling comforted in her identity as both people who treat her as a person and don't will still call her Svetlana.
Mal
Tumblr media
Would not answer the question. [He/Him]
While I do think Mal would not internally be a man, I think similarly to Vito he would have accepted his role of always being a villain. However, differently from Vito acknowledgement of his own personhood for Mal would only be something people could stomp over later, so he would refuse to do so. Maybe 10 years into the future he'll finally wear a skirt and be happy.
