so i decided im going to use this color work piece i did to make a tote bag (mainly bc i thought it would be cute but also i wanted this to be like a prototype for future bags i might make)

i learned a very valuable lesson which is to always fucking make a gauge swatch lmao. i knew from the alpha chart i used that the front panel was 56 rows of 46 sc each row, so i figured if i used the same yarn and hook and did a big 46x56 square of sc it would come out to be the same size. luckily, about halfway through i thought it might actually be a good idea to hold the two panels up to each other and make sure it was actually the same size…

it wasn’t! but luckily somehow my tensioning was fucked up in just the right way so it happened to be just the right height to use. so i didn’t waste 4 hours of my life crocheting all of this because im just going to put the back panel on sideways. might look a little wonky but i’m new at crocheting so who cares if it looks perfect. i would much rather it look a little wonky than have to redo this entire back panel.

BUT! — lesson learned. do a gauge swatch. ideally before you get 4 hours into crocheting.

i finished the back panel up and then decided to take a break from actual crocheting and try to figure out how to weave in the ends of the front panel. the two bits of black yarn at the corners were pretty straightforward and i just weaved them in like normal at the corners

the ends left from the purple and pink yarn were a bit trickier. as you can see , the backside of this piece is a bit of a fucking mess:

i’m honestly not sure if this is actually how you’re supposed to do intarsia crochet. (i found a tutorial on a blog i don’t remember, read like the first few sentences, and then my adhd kicked in and i got bored so i decided to just try to figure it out on my own). but there are all these loose pieces of thread from when i dropped a color and had to carry the yarn i wasnt using across the back of the piece. plus i didn’t want the colors i was weaving in to show through the front side. so i decided to basically weave the pink and purple ends into the loose bits of yarn on the back, and then tied them off to secure at the ends

it looks messy, but this is the inside of the bag so who cares. but there were still some more long loose threads of yarn on the back, and i liked how weaving these ends in had sort of secured the extra yarn down against the bag. so i took my tapestry needle and a big piece of black yarn and decided to try weaving across the whole back of the bag

again, messy, but it did what i wanted it to do. i was originally thinking i would line the inside of the bag with fabric, but i think if i weaved over this one or two more times it might not need a lining. but idk, i have read that it’s good to line crochet bags with fabric to like reinforce them and make them stronger. still thinking about it for now.

ok i wanna make my own tips post for the redditors

hello welcome :] here's some things i've noticed it seems a lot of you aren't aware of. i might add more later:

first of all, PLEASE turn on custom theme! you don't have to actually make or find a theme yourself as it gives you a default one, (but it is really fun and good to personalize your blog however you want) but doing this makes it easier to view and search your own blog, as i will describe later. this makes it so that you will show up at yoururl.tumblr.com and not just tumblr.com/yoururl it gives you your own page! it's good!! you can only tick this setting on desktop:

another very important thing: DO NOT FUCKING REPOST ART WITHOUT CREDIT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. honestly you should not report art without permission at all, but at LEAST credit the artist. and saying "idk who did this but credit to them" DOES NOT COUNT. take some time to reverse google image search and find the artist. if you can't find them, DON'T REPOST!!! turning the art into a meme doesn't mean you don't have to credit the artist!!!!!! AAHHH!! ok.

TAGS/SEARCHING in reblogs, all tags serve to do is (a) leave a bit of quiet commentary, if you're too shy to leave it in the actual body of the post or (b) organize posts on Your Blog Only. tagging a reblog does not make the post show up in the searchable tag. reblogs are not searchable through the tumblr search bar.

to find posts from a certain tag on your own blog, go to yoururl.tumblr.com/tagged/tag. you can also add /chrono to the end of that url to view the posts in chronological order! you actually don't need to tag original posts with every variation of a tag either. for example if you tag something as "r/196", it will show up when just "196" is searched for, because it contains "196" in it. so you dont NEED to tag the post "196, r196, r/196" etc. but i mean. do whatever u want. honestly i think a lot of veteran tumblr users don't even know that. but yeah tagging with a ton of variations like that is unnecessary unless you're spelling something differently or doing an abbreviation as well as a full title, such as "#what we do in the shadows, #wwdits"

also, your posts are searchable by literally any word in the post, whether it be the body, the tags, or even your url. so if your url has 'catboy' in it, and someone searches 'catboy' they will see all of your original posts in the tag lmao. it is pretty stupid but that's how it works.

on that note, FILTERING with filtering tags, it is very specific. so if youre content warning tagging something, please just tag it with the word, like "#blood" because if you tag it "#cw blood" or "#blood ///" people who just have "#blood" blocked, will still see the post! lots of veteran tumblr users don't seem to grasp this either 😭

you can filter out words as well as tags, but that can get tricky because if you filter out "rape" words like "grape" and "drape" will also be blocked, so i only use the word filter to block peoples urls. because even if you have someone blocked, you can still see people reblogging their posts, so if u don't wanna see them at all, block their url as a filtered word.

you can do all of this in the regular ol' 'settings' tab on desktop. on mobile it's settings -> general settings -> filtering

PAGES something i love about tumblr but is getting used less and less is the ability to make separate pages on your blog. the option to do so is all the way at the bottom on the theme customization panel. (only available on desktop tumblr)

nowadays a lot of people just make a carrd and provide a link to that, but tumblr allows you to make your own separate blog pages! a lot of people use this to make "about me" pages, since it provides a lot more freedom than just the "blog description" section! you can put images on there, and just completely code the whole thing yourself! unfortunately, these pages aren't visible on mobile unless you link to them in your blog description (see my blog as an example) using <a href="link">link title</a> lots of people have links like this in their descriptions that lead to about pages or carrds! you should click on these to learn more about the person you're following!!

some people have "DNI (do not interact)" or "BYF (before you follow)" pages to set boundaries on who they do or don't want following them, as a warning of like "hey if you fall under this criteria and you follow/interact with me, you're getting blocked" so those are good to check for! some folks have lots of strong opinions on these that theyre "stupid" or "useless" but really it's just a warning and setting boundaries. like, if you follow me and ur not supposed to, i'm just gonna block you anyway, it was just a warning that that's what was gonna happen!

speaking of blocking, just fuckin' block whoever you want whenever you want. if you find someone annoying just block them. if they post something you don't like just block them. there's no need to get into an argument. just block! and they're gone! wheeee!!

SIDEBLOGS!!! you can have separate blogs from your main one that are connected to your same account! some people have tooooons of sideblogs for every single fandom they're in, some people just use their main for everything. it's up to you!

note that you can only like posts, send asks, follow people, and reply to posts under your main blog url. sideblogs are just for posting and reblogging in a more organized manner :] it's good to say in the description of your side blog what your main blog is so people know who you are when you like and reply to posts and such! (and also to list your sideblogs somewhere on ur main for the same reason. i use the aforementioned about page for this ^u^)

HELP i lowkey have seen a lot of people starting to like him already ngl half of them don’t deserve my kashimo fic though that one is very unhinged and odd and the plot is kinda fucked up…okay i already tell you the endings for everything i’ve written so i’ll tell you about this one as well HAHA idk how much if any of it you’ve read but basically what you need to know is that the main character’s cursed technique is that she has like. hummingbird powers?? basically if it’s related to hummingbirds or the mythology around them she can do it but only for a limited amount of time (for example at one point she runs from nyc to tokyo including over water in like 30 minutes or something due to her technique because hummingbirds are super fast) and in the present timeline she also has this sword (the sword of syrinx) which helps her focus her technique and lends her energy when she’s running low etc etc but anyways after her technique runs out of energy she enters torpor (which is based on irl hummingbirds’ torpor) where’s she’s basically in a super deep motionless sleep recovering her energy?? and she stays like that until she’s recovered her cursed technique ANYWAYS after haibara’s death and geto’s betrayal (she’s in nanami’s year) she enters a very deep depression (she compares it to a torpor settling over her whole life) because she realizes she has zero purpose in life and she thinks that there might be someone who can help her find it but she doesn’t know who

THEN the culling games start and she comes back (this is when she runs from the east coast of the us to tokyo) and meets kashimo before getting in a fight with him however for obvious reasons she’s exhausted so she eventually gives up and offers him her sword but instead of just being a form of surrender the sword makes her and kashimo remember the past?? since kashimo in this au doesn’t remember why he reincarnated or much about who he used to be…anyways so then we get thrown into the perspective of the first user of the main character’s technique who coincidentally has the same name as the main character!! and it turns out that in this past timeline she was actually selected by the hummingbird deity to be its champion and defeat its mortal enemy ten, who is the lord of the sky and storms and who no one believes in

past y/n is the strongest sorcerer of her time barring kashimo and kashimo is OBSESSED with this fact. all he wants is to fight and kill her (fairly, he’s not about to kill her in cold blood because it doesn’t prove anything) and he even threatens the big three clans (she is engaged to gojo’s ancestor) so she has to intervene and tells him that she’ll fight him just as soon as she defeats ten, which makes him be like ok i’ll help you with that!! she unlocks the vision of the hummingbird based on a story she reads in a book given to her by the man who gave her to the gojos after her parents’ death (the man is kenjaku) and is able to find ten in a dream, realizing that he resides in a domain (he’s implied to be another disaster curse kinda like jogo) and challenges him to a fight, after which she goes and finds kashimo and he takes her to his childhood “friend” because the friend (who i made up but is named daisuke) can forge the best weapons (he forged kashimo’s staff)…daisuke agrees but under the condition that y/n erases him from history completely and finds a girl that he and kashimo used to know who ran away one day and they never saw again

y/n and kashimo set off in search of the girl and we get a reveal of kashimo’s past where it’s seen that he was orphaned at a young age and saved by the gojos but instead of being taken in like y/n was he was taken to an orphanage run by a woman who absolutely hated children and was basically neglected for his entire life (this is where he met daisuke and the two became friends as well as where daisuke taught kashimo about sorcery and stuff) eventually one day daisuke and kashimo sneak out to a village using daisuke’s technique (which allows him and anyone he includes to become invisible) and there they see y/n passing by in a procession with the gojos and kashimo is IMMEDIATELY convinced that he needs to fight her and if he cannot defeat her as he is now he will become someone who can…essentially defeating her becomes his purpose for living and becoming as strong as he has

then some stuff happens and it’s revealed that before she can fight ten y/n has to defeat his twelve beasts (it’s never outright stated but the twelve beasts are the animals of the japanese zodiac!! to fit w the sky theme) so while they continue on this journey to find the girl she fights and kills a few of them…she meets kenjaku at one point and he tells her that he saved her when she was a kid in exchange for her father’s life (as in he became a reincarnated sorcerer) before telling her that he can make the same deal with her and give her what she most desires (a life without the constraints of the hummingbird and ten) she basically tells him to fuck off though and he does so but says she’ll need him eventually…anyways then she and kashimo eventually find the girl (who is none other than tullia ofc) locked in an attic and they managed to rescue her before tullia and kashimo team up to kill the lady who ran the orphanage and sold tullia to the man who hurt her ☝🏻 meanwhile y/n continues to fight more of the beasts but it’s revealed that if she doesn’t get a proper sword she’s in trouble because the amounts of cursed energy she’s using to fight the beasts cannot be handled by a normal weapon (hence why she needs one of daisuke’s swords) so they return to daisuke and he forges the sword of syrinx for her!! she fights off the rest of the beasts in succession (kashimo is in and out of the story at this point) before she defeats the final one and is granted access to ten’s domain which is a field with a massive tornado in it. she tells kashimo that she’s going to fight ten and he makes her promise to fight him afterwards which she agrees to and she tells him to find her once the domain collapses

she gets to the domain and realizes that the reason why ten’s voice always seemed to come from nowhere is because the tornado itself is ten; there’s a whole fight sequence and she’s holding her own but obviously struggling and eventually she’s on her last legs before she remembers a story that will basically put her in an eternal torpor/kill her if she uses it however it’s what she was made for — to defeat ten — so she calls on the story where the hummingbird is the sun in disguise and even though the sword of syrinx breaks in the process she manages to exorcise ten before falling into torpor. ten’s domain collapses and kashimo finds her and thinks she’s dead before realizing it’s just the torpor; using his electricity basically as a defibrillator he shocks her back awake but it’s way too late and she’s barely able to stay up; she tells him about kenjaku and tells him to reincarnate and face off against someone even stronger than her, like sukuna, and also asks him to fix the sword of syrinx for her because she can’t bear the thought of it being ruined. kashimo says he will and then asks what will happen to her; she says she isn’t sure but right before she dies she is prompted to use her technique one final time, this time in the form of the “reincarnation of the hummingbird” (as hummingbirds symbolize reincarnation) and so her heart transforms into a hummingbird and she is reincarnated

returning to the present, the current y/n realizes that all of this has transpired between her past life and kashimo, but while kashimo is still the same person, she wasn’t reborn with all of her memories and she’s actually entirely different person now, so she can’t be with him, even though she suspects that her past life was in love with kashimo despite kashimo never outright reciprocating. before the final confrontation with sukuna happens, kashimo reveals to current y/n that the reason why the sword of syrinx is so strong is that (in keeping with jjk nonsense) in order to reforge the steel, he had daisuke smelt past y/n’s body (specifically her bones) into it, making it much stronger and imbuing residuals of her technique and spirit into it (hence why it only works for her and is so helpful to her). kashimo then goes to fight sukuna as he wished and dies, whereupon y/n retrieves his body and once again reforges the sword of syrinx so that whatever is left of him can be whatever is left of her past life; once the sword is done, she takes it and leaves japan behind for good. one of the students or someone asks what she will do now and she says she will do nothing because that is what she reincarnated for — to have no purpose except finding happiness

that’s the end of y/n’s story, but then we return to the past and see kashimo meeting with kenjaku. kenjaku seems to pity kashimo and mourns y/n’s loss (mostly because now he won’t get to have her in the culling games) but before he can say anything kashimo tells him that he knows that kenjaku can give him another chance at life. kenjaku warns him that there will be stipulations, but kashimo says that he doesn’t care, because (this is the last line) “there is still someone left that he has to fight” — basically, he reincarnated for the chance to see y/n again, just because he trusted that she would somehow come back even though there was no reason for her to

LMAOOOO THAT WAS A LOT to be fair there was a lot of context needed for me to explain the ending considering only the first third of the story alone is 80k words that one is another doozy but yeah basically throughout the entire story “fighting” and “killing” are meant to represent the love that kashimo feels for y/n?? like he is genuinely MADLY in love with her but as someone who’s only ever loved fighting and feeling powerful he equates that feeling with wanting to kill her hence why he says the most INSANE things to her absolutely casually…killing her is just the only way he understands how to love her 😭 y/n is no better either there’s an entire sequence in the beginning of one of the chapters in her past life that’s describing her dreaming of “fighting kashimo” but those dreams are in fact meant to represent uhhh. sex dreams. LMAO. let me include a screenshot so you can see what i mean because it’s one of those things that makes ZERO sense until you read it

so as you can see the themes in this one are insane and weird and probably would be misinterpreted by a larger audience SKDJHF kashimo and reader are very dear to me in all their insanity because the way they love one another is unparalleled and the angst is off the charts like this story puts everything i have ever written to SHAME LMAOO long story short yeah i feel like kashimo will definitely blow up but do i want him to?? BnHA Chapter 313: Deku VS Lady Nagant

Previously on BnHA: Hawks’s super-hot badass murder senpai Lady Nagant showed up to fire a cupid’s arrow into my heart, and a bunch of literal bullets into my son. Deku was all “oh shit it’s Hawks’s super-hot badass murder senpai, what do I do, let me think back to Hawks’s advice for a sec.” Flashback!Hawks was all “anyway Deku so if my super-hot badass murder senpai ever shows up you’re basically screwed so you’d better abscond the fuck out of there.” Present!Deku was all “lol idek why I flashed back to that conversation since I’m just going to do the exact opposite of what Hawks said” and charged directly toward Nagant because WHY NOT. Overhaul was all “waah I need to get back to my boss who I put in a coma out of love” and Nagant was all “jesus christ why did I even bring you here” and had a flashback to AFO who was all “ILU NAGANT IMMA GIVE YOU AN EXTRA QUIRK SO PLEASE CAPTURE DEKU FOR ME PLEASE AND THANKS” and yeah. Shit is all over the place right now and I love it.

Today on BnHA: All Might gets attacked by a pair of discount assassins and is all “Call an ambulance! ...BUT NOT FOR ME” and it’s really badass but also I really wish he would stop tempting fate like this. Lady Nagant is all “[casually flies around town shooting shit]” and I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t read an entire chapter of just that. Deku is all, “[gets shot (≥_<)]” and releases a giant Smokescreen which prompts En to show up. En is all, “( •᷄⌓•᷅ ) (⌣̀ Δ⌣́) ( •̀_•́ )σ (¬､¬) (눈_눈)” which I consider to be a high point of both the chapter and of my life. The chapter ends with Deku using the Third’s quirk to launch a bunch of random objects at Nagant so that he can jump up and grab her arm all sneaky-like, and I’m sure this is going to prompt another week’s worth of discourse that I don’t care about at all, but fuck it, I’m having a good time.

(ETA: so yeah, after thinking on it, I’m not gonna say “please no Deku discourse on my blog” this week, but I probably will ignore any discourse that does come my way though, just because I don’t have much interest in getting involved in what would probably be a pretty repetitive discussion. like, I can just sum up my opinions (which is what they are) here instead. in fact here they are lol:

1) I like the SIXQUIRKS and I like seeing Deku be a badass.

2) I also don’t think Deku is too OP. more like he’s exactly as OP as he needs to be at the moment, given that we’re approaching the end of the series. I expect the other kids will also be pretty damn OP when we see them fight again. we’re just at that point now where they’re all badasses (as well they should be; they’ve grown a lot and they deserve it). it’s just that Deku’s the one we’re getting to see right now.

3) of course I miss Kacchan and the others, but for me this vibes much closer to the MVA arc where even though I missed them, I was still having a blast (as opposed to the dark days of the Basement arc where I was pretty much losing it lol). like, even though Kacchan’s my favorite, I still love Deku a lot and this arc has been amazing for him getting to shine on his own (for like the first time, really).

4) y’all know I love the OFA plot and I’ve never been shy about that lol. I like all of the Vestiges a lot. Banjou and his over the top personality; En and his “guy you thought would be serious and :| all the time but is actually hyper-animated and ALL OVER THE PLACE” energy; Shiro who actually is a :| sort of guy lol; Three who I still expect will be fleshed out in a more detailed flashback at some point; and of course Two, who, well. you know what I think about him lol. Bakuverse is still on the table and I’m still hyped. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we still have yet to see Two actually talk to Deku (as opposed to talking to the other Vestiges while Deku is distracted). did he lend him his power yet?? or is he still holding out?? either way it’s definitely going to be a Big Thing when it finally happens and I can’t wait to see it.

5) Lady Nagant is Everything and just because Deku grabbed her arm doesn’t mean the fight is over yet lol. Overhaul hasn’t come into play yet either. not to mention that even if the fight is over, the “where do we go from here” part still has me excited either way. her connection to Hawks and the HPSC is very intriguing and we’ve barely touched on that as of yet; she definitely has more of a role to play in this.

6) last but not least, I feel like every week the discussion is all about how much focus Deku’s getting, and how OP he is or isn’t, and OFA this and OFA that, but meanwhile I’m actually so invested in the character development here though?? the way Deku has distanced himself from everyone (except for the Vestiges, because of course they’re already dead so it’s not like they can die again lol)?? the way he’s pushing himself far too hard and we can see the shadows in and under his eyes, and the fact that he never smiles, and even All Might has remarked on how he isn’t taking care of himself at all?? the fact that he’s so single-mindedly obsessed with focused on stopping AFO?? the fact that he’s still the same sweet old Deku despite everything and was so kind to that fox lady with the umbrella, but there was also something so sad about that scene because it felt like a reminder of the type of hero that he wants to be, but that he’s not allowed to be right now?? because the stakes are too high and the world is falling apart?? and he feels like he’s the only one who can do something about it?? and that he has to be?? and that he is putting so much pressure on himself right now, and it’s absolutely too much pressure for any one person to bear, and I feel like no one is fucking talking about this lol goddammit.

anyway so yeah. I have feels about this, and every week that slow-burn angst is getting more and more intense behind the scenes, and I feel like it’s all going to hit a breaking point eventually. sooner rather than later. it really feels like a mirror of Katsuki’s post-Kamino arc. where all that angst was just churning below the surface for like twenty chapters and then it finally was like “okay it’s time” and it all came bursting out and we got the best five chapters of the fucking series (in my admittedly biased estimation lol).

basically, I know that most of fandom is billing this as either the “villain hunt” arc or the “solo Deku SIXQUIRKS fighting arc” or whatever. but for me, it’s always been and still is the Deku Angst arc lol. the cool fights are a sexy bonus (the worldbuilding less so because even though it’s interesting to see society at such a low point, it’s also very depressing and gets old pretty fast), but for me the thing that’s really keeping me engaged chapter after chapter is seeing Deku like we’ve never seen him before. seeing him all quiet and withdrawn and brooding and focused on AFO, AFO, AFO, and seeing that “he just doesn’t take himself into account” mentality taken to extremes. I am invested in that. I’m soaking up that angst each and every week, and I’m invested in seeing what comes of it. it’s a big picture thing. week to week this arc might just seem like a bunch of villain fight scenes, sure. but Deku’s emotional journey is the thread that’s going to carry this arc through from beginning to end, and for that I’m willing to be patient.

anyway that turned into a BIG OL’ RANT there but yeah! so those are my thoughts on the disk horse as it currently stands. and like I said, I’m open to discussion, but tbh I will probably just wind up repeating these same talking points endlessly so just a fair warning lol.)

the fandom backlash on spoiler nights always envokes more emotion in me than the actual spoilers do :( like when I saw the spoilers I was so excited, but now I see everyone arguing and hating on my favs and it just sucks. Unfortunately this fandom is notorious for people being so emotionally attached to their favs they just ignore whether something is good writing or not. I get it, bakugou is cool and now he’s being tortured, but the main takeaway from the chapter shouldn’t just be “shigaraki sucks” or “Bakugou deserved it”. Why cant we collectively enjoy the chapter for what it actually is. This just pains me so much

Okay but like—can I be completely honest and say that genuinely worrying for Bakugo is a complete waste of energy?

I don’t know how to explain this but….people need to understand what kind of manga this is. Bakugo is 100%, without a doubt, going to be fine, get a happy ending, get more cool moments, etc. So when I see people despairing over characters like him, I eye roll so hard it’s not even funny. I love Bakugo—one of my favorites—but literally of this stuff happening to him right now, I’m just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ whatever. Okay, cool. Im enjoying him getting roughed up because I’m excited to see how it develops him later. It’s part of the story.

You’re right—the point of this chapter is not to hate Shigaraki or cheer him on for what he’s doing, nor is it to despair over Bakugo and worry about what’ll happen to him. Neither of those is the case.

This chapter has a lot of important wording in it, from beginning to end starting with what Shigaraki is saying to Bakugo in the opening panel down to what Mirio is saying to Shigaraki, and finally Bakugo’s quirk awakening. Everything in it is extremely important for several character arcs, many who aren’t even present.

If anybody read this chapter and their takeaway was “Omg Shigaraki better not kill Bakugo god I hate him for hurting Bakugo >:(“ then like….idk. Idk how you can enjoy this manga with that mindset.

Shigaraki is MY favorite, and I’m not cheering him on for this (I mean, he looks good, and I’ve made several jokes about being jelly of Bakugo lmao)—but I’m not saying “Yeah this is good that he’s doing this because he my favorite and I support everything he does and nothing bad should happen to him ever!” How boring of a story would that be if that’s how Hori treated Shig AND Bakugo both, Jesus. Shigaraki probably suffers more than anybody in this manga and I’m enjoying it. Only because I’m fully confident that the payoff at the end will be worth it.

So despairing over stupid stuff like this—TWO WEEKS IN A ROW—is…exhausting to see and I honestly don’t know how people do it.

I've seen a lot of like, discourse in the Stranger Things fandom and I don't like it. There's a cool video of Eddie cosplayers just like, having fun at a con goinng around and it's spawned some mouth breathers that claim to like the show spreading a lot of hate because of it. Saying things like "Eddie would hate you guys" and "You're ruining this fandom/Eddie" which just makes me wonder, like are y'all watching the same show?? I feel like you guys have some weird gatekeeper version of Stranger Things I want no part of.

Stranger Things has always been for self proclaimed weirdos like Eddie and pretty much anyone outside of the preconceived societal norms. Eddie's literally called Eddie 'The Freak' Munson, and in all honesty, people who are saying shit like this would probably have been friends with Jason and Angela, not him. He'd be taking in the people you bully and telling you to fuck off, quite honestly. If you're gonna keep spreading this bullshit, take it somewhere else?? Or keep it to yourself, cause haven't you heard if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all? If this is somehow controversial, I don't give a shit. Now I became selfish and I hope the shard is showing Hanji being saved by Kiyomi or something. And Onyankopon, while I don't hate him, he survived a plane crash and he doesn't add much yet he is there for being the editor's favorite, Yelena is there after all she did and she adds even less, and the people titanized will revert to human (or at the very least Isayama's favorites will).

I have absolutely no fucking idea why Yams decided to treat Hanjo like shit. You know, after a long time of denying her death, I was starting to accept it, because she was finally free, free of the burden and pain and finally reunited with the people she missed and longed for the most. But then Yams decided to slap us all in the faces saying there's no happy & peaceful afterlife in snk and Hanjo was probs only hallucinating because of her 4 years long depression? Well then, fuck you Yams! What was that even for? Isayama never backed off of showing us the horrors of death in snk, no matter how important the characters and how brutal their deaths really were. Still, he never showed us Hanji's actual death or dead body. He kept it misterious and his vague answers only made it worse. So it's only natural for us to expect a plot twist, right? That's the reason all of us gathered various hints in the manga, anime and his interviews. And lemme tell you, these theories are far more logical, better explained and have less plot holes than the entire final arc smh (yes I'm salty, fight me lol)

I hate to admit it, my inner self is still in denial and fighting, but Hanjo ain't coming back folks. We won't get any background story and the misterious shard will never be explained to us either. Yams had more than enough time to bring Hanjo back, if he truly wanted to. But he didn't. And now with only one chapter and so many unanswered questions left, there's no time for Hange's return. Why would he even do that anyways? Hanjo isn't important to him or to the story anymore. To us she is, always was and always will be ❤️ You know, I'm so fucking desperate to see her again, I'll even take one last panel of Levi remembering her, just like in ch136. Yams just let us see Hanjo one more fucking time 🙏🏻 I need to say my proper goodbyes to my one&only comfort character, who's influenced my life like no one else ever did ❤️

Back to Levihan (I don't think I can answer an ask without my biased and trashy shipper ass butting in lmfao): the question why Yams confirmed Levihan as canon if he didn't intend to bring Hange back and reunite her with Levi to make us him happy again? Well, isn't it obvious? This man is the devil incarnate. THIS MAN HAS NO FUCKING CHILLS lmfao JK y'all before someone declares war on me and my blog haha Well anonie, I feel like Yams really wanted to confirm his initially planned ships as canon, before the manga ends. And he chose the safest way possible. Easy as that. Also he said he is going for a bittersweet ending and what's more tragic (in this literal hell) than separating lovers, ergo Eremika and Levihan.

Now to something else, that's been bothering me for a while now and I'll use your ask anonie to share my thoughts with the world even though nobody asked lmao tbh I'm a bit disappointed with Armin. I love him, I really do. He's my precious cinnamon roll and my fave 104th kiddo. But honestly, I was expecting a bit more of the alleged "hero who will safe humanity". In fact, I'm sure Hanjo only died for Armin to become the new commander. That's it. That was the reason she had to die. Yams glossed over her to make Armin shine. But in fact, Levi's the one who's giving orders ever since Hange has left them. I might me salty, but I really hope the talk with Zeke (and probs Ymir as well, we still might have a chance to see the dialog that made Ymir change her mind) and his titan nuke weren't the only things he did as "humanity's hero" in this final arc. For some people this might me enough, for me it isn't. It wasn't worth Hange's sacrifice. Also what made me really sad was Armin himself glossing over Hanjo when he remembered Erwin Danchou, but not her. Like she didn't just pass away an hour ago to save their pathetic asses. Ugh this is making me hella mad, ngl. Hanjo didn't deserve this treatment! She gave her all for this! To save the alliance, to "pay the price" for her "sins" as the SC commander and to save humanity. I can't deal with how all of them and the fandom apparently forgot about that.

Now on to "Kiyomi's kindness" lol I wasn't really mad at Gabi for saying this as most of the fandom was. I won't go into detail why she isn't really a rationally thinking character (yo guys, you do remember she's a 12 year old kid, right?), but it's a fact that she didn't care for Hange enough to mention her. I mean, why would she? She barely even knew her. Also we don't really know what's gonna happen with Yelena, Kiyomi and her delegation. I don't know if I'm reading too much into it, but I feel like Kiyomi accepted her death with saying "that's not enough atonement for what I did anyway". I mean they don't know if the alliance will win (they probably think they won't) and they're in the middle of literally nowhere. So I feel like Gabi said that because Kiyomi sacrificed herself (and the others on that ship) willingly, for Gabi, Falco and Annie getting a little chance of surviving and helping the alliance. But I get the rage of the fandom. Especially because no one, except for Levi, remembered Hange after her noble sacrifice.

As for Yelena and Onyankopon, there obviously has to be someone from outside of Paradis to survive the rumbling, otherwise it wouldn't make a lot of sense, I guess. I like Onyankopon a hecking lot ❤️ precious boi was literally crying for Hanjo 😭 Yelena on the other hand deserves what she got. Death would be too easy and kind for her tbh. She has to live with the consequences, just like Kiyomi, so I'm actually glad they survived. So my guess is, it's not really about who's Yams' favorite and what these people are contributing to the story, but it's rather about a logical ending and a good conclusion of the story.

I agree with you about the ones who have been titanized. They'll for sure revert back to humans. It's not really Yams' style to kill of an important character like Gabi, whose character development he's been forcing on us for quite a while now lol. I'm pretty positive about an ending with the titan curse being broken and bringing the titanized people back to human beings (probs also the millions of colossal titans?). It's only natural for Yams to end the story with the titan curse being lifted. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense to end his story at this point. But let's not forget what a big ass troll Yams is lmao you never really know what he's up to, so let's prepare for the unimaginable lmfao

I'll probably never forgive Isayama for what he did to Hange, his best written character, how he completely ruined her and threw her away as disposable, just to make other characters "shine". I’ve discussed the importance of names in this manga At Length (if One Long Post can be considered “at length”-) on this blog, but even if that was not a factor, it’s sickening to see him try so viciously to take him down physically and emotionally back to back; first threatening to name Kazuma, and then trying to take “Yato” away from him like that. Trying to tie it back to himself and take back ownership of Yato like that. The portrayal of abuse in this manga is chillingly on-point sometimes and it Hurts.

My favorite part of this is his very violent change of attitude from “Stupid kid” to Pure Unadulterated Horror in under 10 pages.

And yeah, on that topic: trash dad’s weak point has always been that he refuses to see Yato as anything other than a little kid— a fairly dangerous little kid, but a little kid nontheless. He thinks he knows everything there is to know about him (which. he doesn’t), and Yato’s literal only drawback was accepting that; that he was nothing without him, that he could never outgrow what he was taught as a child, that he was stuck with what he got in life and happiness was out of the question. And now that he’s starting to realize that hey— perhaps that’s all bullshit, and maybe he has grown as a person and began to heal from all the damage that was done to him in the past, he is able to fight back and see his dad as an equal (and honestly probably inferior in skill) opponent instead of this untouchable lifeline.

And obviously his goading still kind of gets to him, but he’s getting better at standing his ground and standing up to him, and idk I just think that’s Neat™.

Anyway, I really liked the facial expressions on this one, too.

BFISJDSJ i tried listening to songs and audios and whatnot and it just made me think more abt karasu (and also nagi for the few songs i associate only with him) like EVERY song is abt him it’s so bad but i need to lock in and stop thinking abt him for a few hours so i can write for my requests 😩 although i’m seriously considering starting a long fic for him now because as much as i love hollyhock and will not be abandoning mr ninja it’s giving me sm second lead syndrome and karasu isn’t even a second lead or a lead at all he just exists in-verse 😓 i need to write smth extensive and insane for him too!!

Top 5 comic moments for Nat?

[okay I start this with full disclosure that I haven’t read every Black Widow comic (nor do I intend to given the sheer volume of them) and also that my brain is swiss cheese so I’ve probably forgotten some stuff. that being said, in no particular order... 

Look at the smarts! The sass! Honestly this entire arc was fulfilling because she gets convicted of wrongdoing, framed for murder, and singlehandedly takes down both the SHIELD operatives who are trying to take her in (without killing them!!!) and also her enemies and proves her innocence all in one fell swoop. It’s phenomenal. Also my poor darling, immediately willing to sacrifice herself for Bucky...

Okay, next!

Natasha, willing to possibly drown in order to save the lives of these girls!!! Willing to give them a future where they choose what they become!!!! We stan. Okay, moving on. 

It’s no secret that I adore Noto’s art, and that has kind of led me to centering my Natasha muse within that arc. Is it a little distant from her original comic self? Yes. Is it growth and complicated emotions? Also yes. She takes on a lot in this arc, and she’s lonely by choice, but then this happens. 

Liho! Named for misfortune in an effort to keep herself distanced, and yet she still can’t help but let the cat in. It’s just so much growth and I love it. Also featured in this arc are the criminally underrated characters of Tori and Isaiah. Onward and forward. 

Ah, Widowmaker. The art here is Extremely Not My Style, but Nat reclaiming her past, showing just how far she’s come from it, confronting her ex-husband and outsmarting him? Heck yes and heck yes. Also features Clint and Bobbi, so I’m biased there. But seriously, her going the high road and doing what is right and STILL not killing him even though he 1000% deserves it... yeah, be still my heart. My girl is grown.  Onwards! 

Winter Soldier 1 !!!!! I cannot stress enough how much I ship BuckyNat. I swear it wasn’t always like this but... just seeing Bucky breaks her out of her brainwashing and they lean on each other for support and are so good for each other and MARVEL WHY WON’T YOU JUST LET THEM BE HAPPY THEY’RE SO AMAZING -sobs- 

Honorable mentions:

So there are bits and pieces of Black Widow Origins that I use for Nat’s backstory on this blog, but this encapsulates a lot of what’s going on with her. Repeatedly in this arc she refers to not being able to tell what is real, the effect of the brainwashing etc. It’s not so much a TOP moment as a formative one for my muse. 

I also don’t use this backstory for Nat working for the KGB (with Ivan being saved by them etc.) but I love how fierce she is in this. We love when our lady is out for blood let’s be real. 

Sometimes we also like her being fallible. Part of the reason she likes Tony a lot is because he’s foiled her plans to mess him up multiple times LMAO 

Last but not least... did I get tired of her being brainwashed again? Yes. BUT they built her a life where she had an ideal lover named James, a kid named Steve, a cat named Logan. They played to her technical mind, her incredible fashion sense, and at the end of the day, she got to have Yelena sweep in! Their friendship after all their past antagonism gives me life. Anyway it was really nice to read a comic where Nat was smiling after a long time, even if she wasn’t quite herself. She was still badass, and the art was pretty, and yeah I’m easy to please on that front.

Hello! Fellow creative spoonie here. I've come across your blog, and I'd just like to ask how on earth you manage to draw everyday??? Also what do you do when you have to break your streak? Just cos when I tried to write everyday and ran out of spoons a week in, it totally destroyed me. Can you please... Tell me your secrets?

Oh god I don’t really have any secrets! I got sick when I was fourteen so I’ve had years of things slowly improving... 

As to how I manage to draw everyday, I gotta point out that I dont! In fact im taking a day off tomorrow! I’ve been drawing these comics since April and I’ve only really gotten my act together in lockdown. When I break my streak I try to do 5 or 6 panels a day and slowly catch up that way, or sometimes I hyperfocus and exhaust myself like today because honestly I’m an idiot. Alternatively sometimes I draw short two panel comics - luckily bad days are pretty boring.

I don’t really know what to recommend. I keep a very strict routine and otherwise have quite a shallow life. This is really the only thing I’ve got going on. (Which I wouldnt recommend! Go have a life!!!)

On top of that I’m sure our situations are very different. I don’t work (I’m a filthy scrounger) and we probably have different diagnoses. 

For me, I made myself sicker for years trying to go back to college after I dropped out, pushing myself too hard and making myself sicker. My folks thought I just wasn’t trying hard enough. I was a traumatised kid that managed to get away from a bad situation. I’ve only started to be able to manage my symptoms now that my brain isn’t drenched in stress hormones.

Routine is important to me, starting with the basics of sleeping and eating on time (which im pretty new to) and just generally taking care of yourself.

 Poor mental health and well being, even if youre not experiencing anything dramatic, can get in the way of managing symptoms. Unlearning ableism was a big thing for me and learning to be kind to my body. I recommend seeing a therapist if you have access to that.

Also gut health’s really important!!!!! I need to stop proselytising so I won’t go on but it genuinely helped me. And so did acupuncture!. (I heard people w/ my disease talk about acupuncture for ages and rolled my eyes but it turns out they were all on to something) 

Also honestly I’ve become addicted to each like and reblog... I’m not sure I’d still have the motivation if it wasn’t for all these people who like what I have to say. Im rly surprised that anyone likes my comics and am very excited for this to all go to my head lmao.

Also why do you want to write every day anyway? Just write when you feel up to it! You can’t measure yourself by the standards of abled people! Maybe try every other day or every week or whatever youre able to manage! Making art should be fun! I think if you exhaust yourself you’ll just become demotivated.

Also im really sry for rambling...... Like this was probably not the answer you were looking for but i dont have any secret wisdom sadly
