Brewing Romance
Pairing: Diluc x GN!Reader
Featuring: Diluc, Kaeya, Jean
Genre: Fluffff, Barista AU, Modern AU, College AU
Summary: barista au….un lang lol also diluc falls in love at first sight….yeah
Reader’s Pronouns: they/them
Warning: diluc is so down bad, kinda ooc mb…(not really) HES SO FINE WOOF WOOF slight kaebedo implied lawlwlwlwlw
Disclaimer: ⚠️ ONLY A WORK OF FICTION!
i. a change of pace
Diluc Ragnvindr wishes for a change of pace. Something different from his boring dull life as a college student who works part time at a nearby café.
It’s not like he needs the money or anything, his family is quite wealthy, but he decided to work for the experience. Also because his friend, Jean, forced him.
Not really forced him no, more like begged him to help her around the shop because they were very understaffed, and Diluc being the kind stoic soul he is, took pity in his friend and decided to accept her offer.
Unluckily for him, he didn’t know that his brother, Kaeya, also works at the café, if he asked Kaeya why, all he’d respond is with “To scout cute chicks!” But he knows Kaeya was just really ogling the blonde kid with bags in his eyes that sits in the back of the café, he noticed that Kaeya would always volunteer to give the man his order…..
ii. new face ?
It’s like as if the Anemo Archon himself heard his pleas for a new face, because a few days later he’s greeted with someone new.
Not like he recognizes every single costumer that comes and goes, but you stood out to him because damn….you were breathtaking.
When you walked up to the cashier he internally panicked, immediately putting Kaeya in his spot and disturbing his brother from ogling that blonde kid again.
“Hey?!! Bro what the hell was that for?!?!” Kaeya exclaims “Spot me. You take their order and I’ll make it. Alright?” Diluc states
Not getting another word in, and not wanting to question Diluc about his red face for now, he begrudgingly takes your order, still kind of looking at the blonde kid at the back (these brothers are so down bad what the hell 🔥🔥)
Diluc makes your order, still as red as his hair, because you ordered his favorite drink, and Jean noticed that he was making it with a smile on his face. ‘I guess he’s finally gone crazy.’ She thinks to herself.
Diluc hands you your order, looking down a bit, because he swear if he sees your beautiful presence again he might actually just combust.
You notice a ‘help wanted’ poster near the door and decide to ask him about it.
“Hey are you guys still looking for help? Cause I’d love to work part time here, if that’s alright.” You state. And Diluc’s brain actually stumbles into himself, he responds to you with “O-of course! We’d be happy to accept your h-help..You can ask the manager for the application form and she can schedule an interview with you” He finishes, and points to where Jean was.
“Thank you so much! Uhm….Diluc?” You read on his name tag. Taken aback, Diluc replies “O-of course! No problem. Happy to help.”
Kaeya was watching the whole scene from the cashier with a stupid smile on his face, god damn his brother was in for it hard.
iii. ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE????? *vine boom*
On the day of your interview with Jean, you decided to dress up nicely and give it all you’ve got, like this is some big corporate job or something.
But hey, to you this was a big interview because god fucking damn did you need some spare cash, you don’t think you can live on processed food for another week even if you had to.
Jean doesn’t beat around the bush and immediately tells you that your hired, saying that you could start tomorrow.
Diluc over hears your interview and smiles to himself, he can finally work with someone he wants too!
iv. cupid works in mysterious ways
Even if you did work together, Diluc unfortunately does not have the same shift as you do. He works the lunch hours from 11 am to 3 pm, while you work from 8 am to 12 noon, which only alots one hour with you everyday, but he tried to make the best of those 60 minutes with you.
Though he was very nervous to approach you at first, he was the one tasked to help you work the coffee machine, and how the workflow goes.
Admittedly, he gets distracted by you sometimes, he just can’t help himself. The way your hair is kept neatly so it doesn’t get it your face, the way the apron hugs you form, making you seem more beautiful than you already were.
It’s not like you were stupid or anything, you weren’t oblivious to the obvious ogling Diluc does whenever he works with you. It brings a wave of heat to your cheeks, because to have such attractive man have eyes for you? You’d almost believe that you were the mc of a fan fiction or something.
Jean obviously noticed the tension you two would emit whenever you worked together, and how Diluc hesitated to greet you goodbye when your shift was over. So she arranged a new schedule for him, to be on the same work shift as you.
They weren’t as understaffed as before, having a good handful of employees that recently applied. Mostly because they wanted to check out the two hot brothers that worked at front. But hey, whatever keeps the business going am I right?
Before Diluc leaves by the end of his shift, double checking if he’s cleaned the machine thoroughly, Jean calls him into her office, Diluc obliges, not thinking much of it.
“Is there a particular reason you called me here Jean?” Diluc asks, while closing the door of her office. “Don’t worry Diluc, it isn’t anything dire. Just a slight change in your work hours.” She says while fixing the papers on her desk.
At this, Diluc’s ears perk up, “My shift? Change? What for?” To be closer with you, he hopes.
“I’ve decided for you to have the same shift as y/n, I sense that you have no opposition to this? Seeing as you enjoy your time on the job whenever they are present.” Jean states like it was to be expected. “Of course, I don’t have any oppositions. You are the manager after all.”
v. latte (he)art
To say you were surprised to see Diluc at work that early the next day was an understatement. You were ecstatic. “Diluc? what are you doing at work so early?” You ask, a smile threatening to form on your lips, trying your hardest to hold yourself back at the sight of him.
“Jean decided to change my shift, so I could work the morning hours, since that’s our busiest time.” And to spend more time with you, Diluc wants to say, but decides against it.
“Really? That’s great!” You start with a smile on your face. “Oh and uhm, I actually really needed your help with something. You know the latte art? Yeah I’m learning to do that now but it’s really hard, Kaeya tried to teach me but he completely gave up, I swear he just works here to ogle that blonde kid at the back”
“Of course I’d help you y/n, it’d be my pleasure.” Diluc says with a smile on his face. He looked very pretty when he smiled, you thought.
You and Diluc spent a few hours and countless cups of coffee, trying to get you to create an actually presentable output. But you just couldn’t seem to get the hang of it.
Profusely apologizing over and over again, But Diluc didn’t seem to mind, having been patient with you this whole time. He decided it was best for you both to have a slight break from the latter art.
But then you felt something warm on your hands, a cup of coffee and Diluc’s warm fingers, seeming to engulf your own.
You looked down at the cup of coffee, and then up at him, noticing that the cup held a cute heart in it, which made your own heart soar with happiness.
“Let’s take a break yeah? We can learn once you’ve collected yourself. Just enjoy this cup I’ve made for you for now.” Diluc hands you the cup, while leaving a loving yet hesitant kiss to your forehead.

Birthday Escapade.
A Malleus Draconia and reader birthday fic.
Words: 2488.
Coloured banners were strung up on the walls, decorating the Diasomnia dorm in an almost welcoming glow. Black and green lines of fabric, embroidered with the inviting message of celebration. What had once been a room of polite gathering, had transformed into a much liver scene. Purple vines stuck out from the ground, acting more as decoration to the party, mimicking the witches of thorns power. Tables covered with delectable food as far as the eye could see. Edible works of art displayed for anyone to reach out and take. The most lavished of cakes being saved for the main table. The centrepiece of the room, almost impossible to miss, was a black sign coated in thorns, spindling a twisted birthday wish. Lilia had wasted no expense making sure everything was perfect. He had planned the entire thing. After all, this wasn't just anyone's birthday. It certainly was a change of pace for the normally dark and dreary castle.
The entire Diasomnia dorm seemed more colourful than usual, and not just aesthetic wise. The sombre atmosphere was lifted with the sounds of delightful laughter and idle celebration. Students of the dorm gathered in the main foyer, enjoying themselves as they chatted away to their fellow classmates without a care in the world. However, the most important aspect of this celebration was missing.
Malleus Draconia was no where to be found.
His guards, Sebek and Silver, had been scouting the dorm trying to find their lost master. They had checked down every hallway and searched all the rooms. Not a single stone was left unturned nor a speck of dust lingered in the process. They were at their wits end. Sebek's voice boomed throughout the dorm, ricocheting off the stone castle walls. Malleus's name sounded akin to thunder as it stormed every inch of the perimeter. It was uncertain which would give out first. His voice or the other students eardrums.
You, however, knew better than to waste time on searching Diasomnia. If Malleus had fled, there was no way he would stick to the confines of the dorm. That was just too simple. Begrudgingly you left the Diasomnia dorm and headed back towards the hall of mirrors. When thinking of a safe heaven, there was only one place that came to mind. You knew exactly where he would be.
Ramshackle. It was very different compared to the other dorms. A shabby and old building that was as creepy as it was comforting. An uneven fence carved from iron surrounded the perimeter, acting more like a cage, warning those who pass by not to trespass. The vacant space and lack of activity made people wonder if it was simply just unfinished or abandoned. It certainly looked run down, even more so before Azul had it refurbished to extend his business. Luckily for you, that plan never came to fruition, so you could keep the haunted mansion you called home.
As you approached, you could see the last remnants of winter still holding onto the Ramshackle dorm. Snow melted into the ground, slowly decaying into the soil as the seasons begin to change. The sugar coated season sluggishly torn away to be replaced with another. It wasn't hard to miss him. His raven black hair and pointed horns stuck out among the crisp white scenery. He stood against the decaying tree, leaning into the wood as if he was trying to merge himself into the plant. He was looking across the garden, but turned his head around when hearing your approach. "Ah, human." He greeted you casually, giving an affirmative nod of his head. "To what honour do I owe you this visit?"
"Where have you been?" You questioned him, finally making your way up the steps and standing in front of him. He seemed taken aback at your forceful question. Why, he had just greeted you with a polite hello and you were already interrogating him. "The party has already started, and you're not even there!"
Malleus quirked his head to the side. "Oh, was that today?" There was something different about his voice. The way his words lingered in the air, laced with a playful tone that spelled mischief. You looked down at his attire. Black dress shirt with a white suit jacket over the top. Black and green sash. There was no way he dressed up like that on a whim. This surely couldn't have been a coincidence. Malleus noticed your stare, lingering on his outfit for a little longer than necessary. "Must have slipped my mind."
"Please don't tell me someone forgot to invite you to your own birthday." You hated to think he was acting like this because of some kind of petty vendetta against you. It wasn't anything new that people often forgot to invite him to events, whether that be the dorm leader meeting or social gatherings, but his own birthday? That must have cut deep.
Malleus chuckled. "Fuhuhuhu. That would be quite entertaining, wouldn't it? Forgetting to invite me to my own birthday. How quaint." He waved his hand. "No, I received an invite. I was even enjoying myself. And I appreciate how much effort Lilia put into the décor. I've just never been the one to enjoy these types of parties. It just feels so... Strange." Malleus looked down at his attire, emerald eyes observing the trinkets that decorated the white jacket. The handmade broach that resembled the curved horns that stuck out from his head. The black and green coloured badge that all to obviously drew attention to the date. Reminding everyone within a mile radius just who the special birthday boy was. He was used to being adored in lavished clothing, being of royal decent, so having an outfit that was traditional for many others was relieving.
"The concept of birthdays... Forgive me but I've never embraced them fully, never needed to." You gave Malleus a quizzitive look, tilting your head a little to the side, imploring him to elaborate. He understood your plight and began to explain. "Compared to humans, fae live for an unnaturally long time. Our lifespans far surpass your own. Why, generations from now I'll still be alive. Wise with time and knowledge. Watching over the world behind the thicket of thorns. And you'll-" He stopped mid sentence. There was no need to continue. You both knew where you would be generations from now. Malleus blinked, the slightest glint of sadness present in his eyes. Possessing the power of longevity was something that many craved to have, but needless to say it did come with its consequences. The burden weighed on the back of his mind like an oncoming storm.
Malleus cleared his throat, "Very strange indeed. You humans celebrate yearly the date of your birth, yet to us fae it is nothing more than a number. Even though I wish I could feel the same connection to it that you do. Maybe then I wouldn't feel such like an outcast..." Malleus blinked as he felt something touch his head. Unconsciously his hand had reached up towards his horns, bringing attention one of the many aspects about him that was different to humans. He was proud of his fae heritage, but always felt like it held him back when trying to forge connections. "Tell me, human." He brought his hand back down. "Am I forever cursed to be an outcast from a gathering? Even one of my own terms? I'm always one to be vacant, not on my own accord. My invitation being left blank while others have been sealed. So forgive my absence when for once I'm expected to be there."
"Tsunotarou-" You had to stop yourself, almost biting down on your tongue. Now possessing the knowledge of his name, it seemed needless to try and use the old nickname you gave him. It was sentimental, in a way. A name that only you could call him. A name made up on the spot yet seemed to fit a little too well. It always made your heart flutter whenever you used it. The way Malleus's eyes would light up in amusement, entertained by the fact anyone would ever consider calling him something so simple. Sometimes it was hard to conceal the corners of his mouth twinging upward in delight. You apologised and corrected yourself, "I mean, Malleus." It was an easy mistake to make. The way his actual name slipped off your tongue somehow sounded wrong. You had gotten a little too comfortable with that nickname. You hoped Malleus wouldn't mind.
To your surprise, Malleus grinned. A slight chuckle slipped between his lips. He was more taken aback by the fact that had felt the need to correct yourself then the use of his nickname. He was aware of your caution, and reassured you. "You may address me however you wish, child of man." Malleus turned his head to the side, looking off into the distance, and placed an hand thoughtfully on his chin. "I must admit, I have grown quite fond of that little nickname you call me. I do not mind being called that name," His attention was brought back to you, dazzling green eyes locking with your own. He huffed out a small laugh. "If you are the one to address me, that is."
You nodded your head, secretly gracious that he was allowing you to continue using that name. But you needed to address his previous statement. "It's understandable that you would feel this way. Being ostracized from a group can be quite intimidating." You sighed. "Trust me, I've been there. And sometimes it feels like you'll never truly belong." Malleus raised his brow. Were you trying to help him feel better or worse?
"But believe me when I say that the people there want you to be there too. They want you to enjoy yourself just as they have. And..." Your words trailed off. Your own voice getting quieter and quieter until even you couldn't hear it anymore. Words did not fail you at that moment. It was clear what you wanted to say. Whether or not you had the strength to say it was a different matter. Your eyes were in agreement, preferring to look at the ground below you rather than the person in front. Was it really that difficult to show your own emotions? You did genuinely enjoy your time together, and wanted it to last longer. Yet somehow whenever you tried to express this fact to him, something always stopped you. A defence mechanism that instinctively held you back. You looked back at Malleus. He stood still, patiently waiting for you to continue. You were thankful for his tolerance. Giving a curt nod of your head, you took a deep breath in, and exhaled. "...I want you to be there. I want you to be happy, on your special day."
You braced yourself, ready for any sort of negative response. But as you waited in anticipation for a verbal reply, Malleus gave none. Instead he began to laugh. A slight chuckle that started out as a growl, but then gradually grew into a light laugh. He brought his hand up to his mouth, trying to cover it up, but he would have to try harder than that to stifle this laugh. You were confused. Was it something you said? Did it sound condescending? Needy? Selfish? That wasn't your intention at all! You just wanted to give him some reassurance.
His laughter eventually died down, allowing him to breathe steadily again. "Child of man, how presumptuous of you." A light titter escaped from his lips again. Whatever he had found entertaining about your statement, he clearly wasn't done. You furrowed your brow in suspicion as Malleus calmed himself yet again. "I do not need a celebration or to be surrounded by guests to be happy." He took another step closer, towering over you like a gargoyle, but it was not intimidating. The soft look on his face quelled any fears of threatening nature. It was actually quite surprising how peaceful he looked. "With you, I already am."
You had to turn your head away at that, letting out a small squeak that sounded more attune to a quack. Hearing such a genuine sentiment from him felt like wildfire had struck your heart, and it felt like it wasn't going to subside anytime soon. It was wishful thinking, but you hoped you didn't make your answer too evident. However, giving such an obvious expression meant it was easy for him to pick up. Malleus smirked at your reaction. Instinctively he placed his hand upon your head, smoothing his thumb gently over the grooves in your hair. He thought it was cute. Like a docile pet receiving praise.
You waved his hand off of you, not needing to feel anything more at the moment. You had wasted enough time standing here. It would be best to return the birthday boy back to his dorm. "I think we had better get back, your guards are in a frenzy over your disappearance." Malleus let out a small sigh. It was time to return to the party. After all, he wouldn't be considered a very good host if he was missing for the entire event. How else was he suppose to show he was worthy of peoples trust if he did not throw a good party? He was ready to return to the dorm, with you accompanying him. "Yes, I think I've troubled them for long enough."
You laughed, thinking about Sebek and Silver stumbling over themselves trying to find their dorm leader. Lilia wouldn't be too bothered, you thought, if you returned Malleus in time for his celebration. Turning around on your heels, you lead the way back towards the gate, eager to return to the party. At last, you could finally have a piece of that delectable looking cake. It had been on your mind the second you stepped into the dorm.
Before you could place a hand on the gate, Malleus called from behind. "And human?" You stopped in your tracks and turned to face him. He stood still, refusing to move unless he spoke. His face bore the same amused express, but this time it was different. It was gentle. His eyes holding nothing but appreciation for the human that stood before him. Someone who didn't see him as the terrifying figurehead of the Draconia family that so many made him out to be. Someone who wasn't afraid around him. Someone he was very thankful to have met. "Thank you, for seeking me out." He stepped forward, now walking by your side. It felt good for him to have someone beside him that didn't cower in fear nor turn away in intimidation. It made him feel accepted. "And for escorting me back."

Sweet ‘N Spicy Boy
A slight continuation to the Sweet ‘N Spicy Goodness, I hope ya’ll enjoy
Bakugou X SenpaiReader
Rating: Teen... Bakugou swears, that’s just the way it is :P
Words: 2,500+
Summary: Bakugou wants to ask the reader out but he can’t seem to say the right words so he gets a little advice
Striking red eyes watched as you walked with your friends in the cafeteria before sitting at a table. It was weird; before their interaction last week, he never saw you around U.A, and now you were everywhere.
"Dude, you're starting to look a little creepy." Kaminari pointed out as he safely sat at the far end, away from Bakugou.
" SHUT IT! I am not." He denied, immediately returning to his food that had now gone cold.
"Well, if your gonna make a move... you better do it, dude, I hear some 3rd year is planning on confessing... Maybe your too chicken." Kaminari decided to poke the bear, as he was not in the blasting radius.
At that, the explosive boy immediately stood up and made his way over to your table. Fully prepared to do what he had to do.
"Just ask her out. She'll say yes, obviously." He thought to himself, trying to pump himself up. He was Bakugou Katsuki, he was amazing. He could conquer anything.
Bakugou Katsuki was the best at everything. Bakugou Katsuki was-
"Hello, Bakugou-Kun."
Screwed.
Your big eyes were looking up at him as he stood in front of your table, all the others at the table were watching with anticipation, but he didn't notice them. All he saw was you. Smiling at him.
He felt the sweat build upon his body as his nerves set in, but he carried on.
"You!" Bakugou pointed the finger at you, and you just raised an eyebrow at the action.
"Yes?" You asked, trying to figure out what he wanted as you pointed a finger at yourself.
" You and me!" The boy yelled, and he could hear his friends laughing at their lunch table.
"Yes?" You asked, a small smile gracing your face and Bakugou didn’t think it was fair for you to look so adorable.
"......" You were waiting, and the boy's face was close to matching his red-eyes. It was adorable.
" You're training with me after school! 4 o'clock! Don't be late!" He yelled as tiny sparks began erupting from his palms.
"Okay, sounds fun." You simply responded, giving him a full smile, radiating excitement.
"It won't be fun! It'll be serious training!" He argued, mad at himself for messing this up. Why was this so hard?
"Ah, yes, of course." All your friends were giggling over the scene. Bakugou couldn't even go back to his own table as they too were all still laughing at him, and he just stomped out of the cafeteria.
"You've got some interesting taste... I'll give you that (y/n)." Your friend from the support course teased, and you stuck your tongue out at her.
You couldn’t deny you were a little disappointed how that had gone, you had hoped that the handsome boy with the explosive personality was going to ask you out, but at least you could spend some time together, and he respected you enough to do some training.
It should be fun.
.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Bakugou learned that your nature quirk was more than it seemed, he thought he would have the upper-hand with his explosions, but your strong roots and resilient vines proved him wrong and left Bakugou trapped every time.
It was infuriating yet challenging.
He couldn’t even be mad because you always looked so genuinely happy every time you two got together and trained. Even covered in sweat and dirt, you were beautiful.
And every time he wanted to tell you that, but the words would get caught in his throat, and he stomped off before saying anything. It had been a week since you two started training together, and even his friends were starting to pity him, which only made him angrier.
“C’mon bro, today’s another day, you’re gonna ask her out.” Kirishima tried to encourage his friend, even Mina was offering up ideas, but Bakugou told them both to 'fuck off.'
They were on their way to Gym Gamma for combat training, Aizawa hadn’t told them what was happening but had ordered them to behave which meant they most likely had a special guest today.
"Welcome 1-A! we're doing something different today! 2-A say, hello to your under-classmen.” Midnight stood in her hero costume with a group of students behind her.
“Hello!” The class of 2-A greeted the 1st years as they bowed, and Aizawa had 1-A do the same. Bakugou looked over and spotted you, and you were whispering to a classmate of yours.
Bakugou gritted his teeth, pissed that you hadn’t even noticed him, and Kirishima shook his head, telling him to chill out.
The teachers stood in front of two bowls, one labelled 1-A and the other 2-A.
“We’ll be pairing you off by random, listen for your name and find your partner, then find a space on the gym floor for sparring.” Midnight explained as she tossed her whip around, getting excited to watch the training session, she knew her class was top-notch and couldn’t wait for them to show their stuff.
"Yes, Kayama-Sensei!" Everyone shouted and waited to be paired up.
“(L/n)-Chan and Todoroki-Kun!” Announced Midnight as Aizawa had already returned to his yellow sleeping bag, giving his fellow teacher complete control over the exercise.
Bakugou watched as you put up your hand to show who you were, and Todoroki walked over to meet you. You felt his eyes burning into your figure and looked over, and you gave the boy with an explosive quirk a wave and a smile causing him to huff and turned around.
Kirishima couldn’t help but notice the interaction and caught the slightly disheartened look on your face at Bakugou’s attitude but shook it off as you introduced yourself to Todoroki and you two of them went to a far corner of the gym to spar.
The ash-blonde boy was so caught up in his fuming he didn't hear his name being called, and the 2-A student had to snap his fingers in front of the boy's face to get his attention. This only put Bakugou in a worse mood, and he was ready for a fight.
The poor boy in 2-A was lucky he had a defensive quirk. And also fortunate that Bakugou kept leaving openings since he kept looking over at you who was easily holding your own against Todoroki’s fire and ice quirk.
Their fight had even caught the attention of a few other students, and finally, you ended it by causing a tree to sprout upright through the concrete of the gym and entrapped the dual-haired boy so he couldn't move a muscle.
“Alright! We're changing up partners, listen for your name!" Midnight yelled out, and Bakugou hoped that this time he would get you.
“ (Random 2-A student) and Bakugou-Kun!" She called out, and the explosive boy spat out a curse and then righter after, your name was called and paired with Kirishima.
“ Hey! (y/n)-Senpai! Looking forward to working with you!” Kirishima jogged up and smiled a 1000 watt smile at the girl.
“Kirishima-Kun, let’s give it our all!” You cheered, stretching yourself out to get ready to spar with the red-haired boy.
After a few quick spars, you took a quick water break, and the 1st year boy decided to ask a simple question and hopefully help his best bro. You were just no lovely and sweet, and he thought you were suitable for Bakugou. Kirishima also figured it took a particular person to catch Bakugou’s eye, which typically was so concentrated on himself.
“Soooo, what do you think of Bakugou?” Kirishima wasn’t the best at being subtle.
“Oh.. um, he certainly likes to train a lot." You answered, creating a pink carnation out of nowhere and playing with the petals.
“What do you mean?” Kirishima asked while tilting his head, he knew his friend was serious about working out but didn't know how you would know that already.
“This is kind of embarrassing…” You awkwardly laughed, feeling a bit like a fool.
“ I keep thinking he’s gonna like… ask me out or something, but I must have read the signs wrong. Every time he comes up to me, he asks to train, so I guess I'm a good training partner." You had a disappointed look in your eyes as you continued to fiddle with the soft petals.
It wasn’t like you didn’t enjoy sparring with Bakugou. He was talented, driven, and fighting him made you stronger. And the boy looked good in a black tank, like, really good.
Kirishima had to stop himself from hitting his face with his palm out of frustration but let out a loud sigh. I mean, you were a good sparring partner, but Kirishima knew that wasn’t what Bakugou was meaning to ask you.
"But oh well, It's my own fault. Hey, let's switch it up and try close combat without quirks." You suggested, really not wanting to talk about your pathetic crush with someone you barely knew.
Kirishima was tough and strong, but you were quick and flexible. It made for a good fight, but you eventually took a hit to the face and went flying back.
“Ah! (y/n)-Senpai! I’m sorry! Are you alright!” Kirishima panicked as your back hit the hard ground.
“I’m fine, nice shot-“ You tried to say but were cut off by a loud boom and an ever more booming voice.
“SHITTY HAIR!!!!” Bakugou seemed to fly down and hit Kirishima like an angry asteroid, slamming the red-haired boy’s body into the ground while you watched in shock.
The two began fighting, and the students stood around and watched while a friend helped you up and checked your cheek.
The battle didn't go on for long as the homeroom teachers quickly intervened, and that was the end of the 1-A, 2-A combat training.
You tried to say goodbye to Kirishima and Bakugou as they were escorted to the nurse's office, but he didn't answer you and glared at the ground, and you were a bit sad, but you couldn't help but think he looked cute as he pouted.
.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
“Okay, Bro. You gotta ask her out already.” Kirishima groaned as the school nurse patched him up.
“I’ve been fuckin’ trying!” Bakugou growled.
“Lady problems?” The school nurse simply asked after laying a smooch to Kirishima.
“Stay out of it!! Old Hag!”
“Tut tut. Listen to your elders' young man." The old superhero used her cane to hit the boy's shin.
"What do you think, Recovery Girl?" Kirishima asked, hoping the elder could give some good advice.
"Well, my dear husband was so shy, but he used baking to get into my heart." She revealed, day-dreaming about her youthful days.
“Pfft, as if I’d something so pathetic….” Bakugou grimaced, like hell, he was gonna bake for anybody.
He told himself that for the rest of the day, all up until they returned to the dorms and he was demanding access to Sato’s inventory of baking goods.
Once Bakugou had what he needed from the baker and kicked everyone out of the kitchen.
.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
The future heroes of 2-A were all hanging out in the living room area, relaxing after a satisfying dinner and all talking about their exciting combat training earlier that day.
“(Y/N)!!! I’m so jealous, you gotta be with Todoroki! He is so handsome!!” One of the girls in class gushed to you as she pulled on your sweater sleeve.
“ He’s okay." You told her, and she started scolding you for saying so.
“ Oh.. Todoroki’s not her type…” Your friend teased.
“Hmmm does our cute (y/n)-chan have a crush?" The girl asked, wiggling her eyebrows at you, and you covered your face as you blushed.
“OMG!! Tell me!” The girl began shaking your body vigorously, trying to shake an answer out of you.
“Its-“ Before your friend could reveal your little secret, you threw a couch pillow at her, which incited a pillow fight between the three of you.
“Hey! (Y/N)-San, you’ve got a visitor!” Your class-president announced to the room.
“Who?” The three of you asked in unison, all still holding a pillow up in the air.
"I don't know, but they asked for 'flower girl'"
You only knew one boy who called you that, and you felt butterflies dance in your stomach.
“I’ll be right there.” You dropped the pillow on the couch and ignored the girl’s teasing behind you.
And there, standing on the porch outside the front door was Bakugou Katsuki in a black winter jacket to protect him from the chilly evening.
You slipped on some shoes and stepped outside, wrapping your arms around you.
“Bakugou, Hi.” He met your eyes and then quickly looked away, but even in the low-light, you were able to see a light dusting of red on his cheeks. But maybe it was from the cold.
He then nodded to a bench that was a bit away from the porch, but you followed him and sat down while he paced in front of you.
“Umm… is everything alright?”
“NO! I don’t- Look... I – Just… FUCK, why is this so god damn difficult!" He cursed but must have noticed you’re slight shivering and slipped off his jacket and forced it around your shoulders. Cloaking you in its warmth and the faint smell of caramel.
The handsome boy started pacing around, speaking under this breath rapidly.
Bakugou then pointed to you, as he does every other time he's 'spoken to you.' He took a deep breath and-.
“I’m gonna take you out!! ” He yelled, his entire face was red, and his crimson eyes were locked onto yours.
You were so sore from training today, you even had a bandage on your cheek from Kirishima. You liked the practice, but it was literally the last thing you wanted to do right now.
"I'm sorry, Bakugou…. I really don’t feel like sparring tonight.. maybe tomorrow?” You offered.
“GRAH! No! I mean…. A date…tomorrow… after school…. you damn flower girl…" He said softly under his breath, and you felt your heart nearly leap out of your chest and words left your mouth before you could even think.
“I’d love to.” You told him as you gave him a smile so bright that Bakugou wished he hadn't been such a coward because he would have seen that smile a lot earlier.
You tried to offer the coat back, but he told me to keep it even though he had a lot further to walk than you. As he started to walk away, you stuffed your hands into the jacket and felt a bag.
You lifted it out and realized it was a bag of cookies, you thought it was kind of an odd thing for the boy to carry around.
“Um, Bakugou! You forgot your cookies!" You called out, waving the bag in your hands, and he marched back as he had only made it a few steps away.
The boy cursed himself for being too caught up in your beautiful eyes and smile, he had wholly forgotton to give the gift.
“There for you…” He shrugged, trying to play it off.
“You made me cookies?” You asked, slightly astonished, and your heart was beating so fast as you felt you could walk on air.
“ They’re the best damn cookies you’ll ever have okay! So you better appreciate them!!” He proclaimed. You never expected the boy to bake for anybody. It turns out he was full of surprises.
“And it’s not gonna happen again! And don't tell anybody." You were already planning on snap-chatting your friend in the support course. As soon as you went back inside.
"Thank you, Bakugou-Kun.” You told him, genuinely honoured that he had baked something for you.
“Katsuki… call me, Katsuki.” He said as he crossed his arms and smirked at you, obviously feeling a little confident. You giggled and stepped closer.
“Thank you, Katsuki." You said softly, and his cheeks went red while he muttered a 'whatever' as he turned away from you, but you weren't done. You just couldn't resist, he was so handsome, and he was so sweet underneath his spicy attitude.
You leaned in and laid a chaste kiss to the boy’s cheek, hoping he didn’t mind a little cherry chapstick on his face.
Bakugou’s jaw dropped open, and he slowly turned his face towards you, his bashfulness had seemed to return, and you heard a sparking sound.
Before you could blink, there was a blast of an explosion and the boy shot up into the sky, and you could only hope that he made a good landing because he had shot off out of sight. You giggled and held the coat tighter to you, taking in a soft caramel smell around the collar.
Yes, this spicy n’ sweet boy was defiantly your type.
You walked back to your dorm with a slight skip in your step, leaning against the door as you closed it behind you and holding the bag of cookies close to your chest.
Opening the bag you were hit the smell of cinnamon-sugar, you reached in to taste cookie and savoured the taste, it was delicious. A perfectly cooked and the right amount of spice from the cinnamon and sweetness from the brown sugar.
Picturing him in the kitchen, baking cinnamon-sugar cookies was somehow.. perfect, and you were on cloud nine.
Bakugou Katsuki was the right amount of sweet and spicy, all packaged up in one cute boy.
You were still wrapped up in the handsome boy’s coat, relaxing into the burnt caramel smell, and you couldn't help but wonder as you chewed on the cinnamon-sugar cookies. What did Katsuki's lips taste like?

D&D Diary - The Yawning Rodent, 16
Refresher: Our adventurers Lugs (grung barbarian), Lurk (grung rogue), Aelia (tiefling cleric), and Valas (drow sorcerer) with tagalong Deku (ratfolk cleric) explored Belak's study, finally finding Deku's stolen library book, as well as other books pertaining to vampires, dragons, and life and death cycles. After taking a long rest in the study, they went back to the upper floor of the citadel - however, Yusdrayl and her Kobold Gang were there to greet them, demanding they show proof that they're not lying about Calcryx. Durnn, who had supposedly been released on the surface by Yusdrayl but had actually been kept prisoner, told her about how the party had stolen Calcryx back from the Goblin Gang days ago and hidden her from Yusdrayl, rather than returning her. After some back and forth, the party finally shows their true colours to the Kobold Gang leader by setting traps off on her three guards who went to investigate their claims.
Sunless Citadel spoilers! CW for light body horror descriptions
Yusdrayl, her mustard-yellow scales washing out in the pale violet light of the glowing mushrooms lining the walls, swiftly flicks her wrist into the air. "Fire!" she booms out, jamming a clawed talon at the party of adventurers. The guards around her immediately let loose their slings, the twanging of strings echoing around the chamber as a flurry of sharp stones rocket towards you from every angle.
The adventurers take some hard hits from the onslaught of rocks - a nerve-wracking start to the fight. Lugs goes into a rage, shoving Yusdrayl over the lip of the well. She screams, trying to grab a hold of the vines as she tumbles backwards, but only manages to do so when she's already fallen about halfway down the 80 ft shaft. Her elite guards continue to fight for her, and the party starts backing themselves up against each other, the circular room filled with kobolds.
Aelia casts Flaming Sphere, ramming the ball of fire into an elite guard before positioning it in the doorway, blocking the entrance to the Kobold Gang interns outside the room who don't want to take fire damage.
Durnn fights the party as well, having teamed up with Yusdrayl to kill the adventurers who destroyed his Goblin Gang and threatened him into silence about Calcryx. While he's not fighting at his best anymore, his strong hobgoblin build coupled with his longsword deal some hard blows, and the sheer number of Kobold Gang members in the room all fighting them means that the party is getting worn down.
As Durnn starts getting hurt more than he anticipated - particularly after seeing Yusdrayl get pushed into the well shaft - he starts to try and bargain with the party to let him team up with them instead, so they can all finish off the Kobold Gang. The party laughs in his face, incredulous at his blatant backstabbing, before enthusiastically agreeing that he should help them get rid of the Kobold Gang. However, Lurk uses his Ring of the Flock to summon a swarm of ravens, sicking them on Durnn. The party starts getting the upper hand on the fight.
The fight continues on, everyone stretched to the limit; so much so that you don't even hear him coming. The door to the hall is slammed open, the fog from the dragon hallway leaking in at the feet of the semi-hunched figure. His eyes are wide and bloodshot, pupils small despite the lack of traditional light, and his mouth agape while he pants heavily. The pale, sickly, rough skin immediately gives it away despite the change in demeanour; this is Chadley, looking erratic, frantic, and exhausted. He stumbles forward, and it's hard to tell if the roots at his feet are just being moved with the momentum of walking, or if they're searching for purchase against the stonework floor. His arms hang limp at his sides, until he's suddenly rushing forwards, fingers tensed and clawed not unlike McKennedeigh's, eyes wide and red and thirsty, skin so pale and deathly that you can see through to the red veins beneath.
The mushrooms growing out of his bark-like skin akin to parasites over his upper back and shoulders suddenly pulsate, releasing a large cloud of black pollen into the air. It smells like sulphur and decaying plant matter, with a tinge of iron, making your eyes water and your nose and throat itch.
While Chadley is stuck in the larger hall outside the room because of the Flaming Sphere in the doorway, the pollen permeates the whole area in a sudden puff. The Kobold Gang interns, Lugs, Lurk, and Durnn all start coughing, before they feel a haze come over their minds and they look softly towards Chadley, charmed by him.
As Chadley spots McKennedeigh's unconscious body slumped over by the well after the party had carried her up with them, he starts to freak out. Hysterically, he cries that everyone here is trying to hurt him, and that they've killed his sister. Those charmed by him feel sympathetic to his cause, and are compelled to turn on everyone else to stop them from hurting Chadley.
Valas casts Chaos Bolts at Durnn and the kobold elite guards. Durnn deflects the blow, but the last of the elite guards is finished off by the magic. Feeling his wild magic crackle within him, Valas starts to hear faint, ethereal music playing in the background of his senses; nothing else changes, and with a resigned sigh, he feels like this may be the heavenly music you hear before you die.
Yusdrayl, who's been trying to scale up the vines along the well shaft, finally reaches the top and jumps down from the stone ledge.
Yusdrayl breathes heavily through flaring nostrils, her golden eyes narrow and furious.
"I have worked too hard for this," she growls, "all of this, for it to be taken away from me by the likes of mercenaries!" Frost begins to collect on the scaly hands she's had clenched at her sides, the magic in the air thickening as she draws on her power. Both hands whip in front of her, claws splayed, as she shouts, "Shatter!"
A small bead of icy platinum light then explodes with a thunderous boom, a shockwave of ice and frost tearing viciously through the air.
The Shatter spell goes off in the middle of the congregated party members, missing only Lurk. While everyone successfully braces themselves for the blast of cold damage that threatens to slow down their movements by freezing their joints, Lugs' fire snake takes the most damage, vulnerable to ice by nature. Yusdrayl then tries to cast Ray of Frost at Lugs, eager for revenge for him pushing her into the well, but he easily dodges it.
The fire snake, badly wounded, immediately tries to get away from Yusdrayl after having been helping in the fight against the kobolds. Cornered in by the Kobold Gang interns and Chadley outside the doorway, Snakey proceeds to slither over to Valas and Lurk's side of the group, its radiant fiery scales now partially extinguished and dulled with frost. Lurk - charmed by Chadley - spots the wounded creature, and mercilessly finishes them off with a sneak attack using their psychic blades. Valas hears the thump of the snake's body hitting the ground, and as he whips around, he sees Lurk out of the corner of his eye stab him through the side with another knife of psychic energy, badly hurting him despite the intangible blades leaving no physical wounds.
Durnn runs forward and attacks Aelia, bypassing Lurks' swarm of ravens as they're under Lurks' command and, therefore, now on the same side as Durnn when it comes to defending Chadley. He deals a hard blow on her with his longsword. Deku has been desperately casting his most powerful healing spells to keep the party alive under the onslaught of attacks.
Lugs re-activates his Storm Surge of swamp water, buffeting Yusdrayl, one of her guards, and Aelia who had fled closer to his side of the room in order to get away from Durnn. Aelia loses concentration on the Flaming Sphere. Yusdrayl sees Lugs look between her and Aelia before focusing his sights on the kobold leader, and yells, "don't you dare touch me!"
From out of her robes, she pulls a huge white scale, and holds it ahead of her. The scale gives off a frightening and deadly aura, but Lugs in his enraged state doesn't pay it any heed, and with a sickening crack as he brings the Shatterspike longsword down on her, she tumbles over the lip of the well one last time. The scale clatters to the ground, her eyes glazed over as she falls down the shaft, already dead before she hits the ground.
Lugs roughly shakes his head, the fog over his mind starting to clear as he breaks free of Chadley's influence. Aelia yells at him for getting her robes soaked with swamp water again, but he just points at where Yusdrayl once stood before giving her a thumbs-up, pleased with himself for defeating her.
Aelia, Deku, and Valas keep using magic to finish off most of the kobolds, aside from the interns who've just recently flooded into the room now that the Flaming Sphere spell blocking the doorway has ended. Aelia tries to tell them that their leader, Yusdrayl, is now dead, and that they can team up with the party - however, they yell back that they're going to defend Chadley from the nefarious adventurers, charmed by him.
Amidst the sounds of battle can be heard the clicking footsteps of a creature, large enough to be heard barreling down the corridor towards the violence as it gets close. Through the doorway comes a flash of pearly white scales, followed by a burgundy creature riding atop its back between two folded wings. "Aelia! Deku! Valas! Lugs! Lurk!" cries out the panting and desperate voice of Meepo as Calcryx skids to a stop, icy talons skittering across the stone floor as her intense blue eyes scan the scene. Opening her maw, she roars, and leaps into the fray with a powerful wingbeat.
Meepo and Calcryx have arrived, flanking Chadley! Deku and Aelia, in particular, light up in delight to see their unexpected friends, and teamed-up, no less!

He’s my soulmate, unfortunately | Chapter 2
{Requests are open!}
Summary | Previous | You are here | Next
“So you mean to tell me that you found your soulmate and didn’t decide to let me know until now?”
“I know it sounds bad but it was the middle of the night manager-nim” Y/n sighed out, rubbing his eyes, “You would have been asleep. I wanted to tell you in person”
The older male that stood opposite the idol let out a deep sigh of frustration, pulling his phone out of his pocket “I can’t believe this has happened so close to the comeback” He gritted out, eyebrows furrowed, “I’ll talk to who I need to talk to, you go back to practice and I’ll come to get you all when we need to go to the radio interview today…”
Y/n looked down, eyes glassy and nodded before walking off down the barren hallways towards the practice studio he was just in. When he entered the room, the rest of his group could see the underlying frustration and sadness in his eyes but none of them wanted to bring it up. They had seen this look before when, in the past, their leader had thought he found his soulmark but it turns out it wasn’t; they had all heard the quiet sobs down the hall from when he was crying because he felt like the world wasn’t in his favour. They had all heard it yet Y/n still put up a front of him not caring. If you ever asked him about it, the leader would say that it’s for the sake of the fans, none of them wanted to see the idol they loved so much be sad over a simple thing he couldn’t control.
The idol snapped out of his jumbled thoughts after feeling the pounding bass of their title track for their upcoming album flow through his feet; the beginning few notes of the song allowed Y/n enough time to get into position, his body moving on its own as the lyrics began to fill the room. The group went on to practice other songs for another half hour before their manager came through the heavy wooden door.
“Alright, you lot!” His booming voice filled the studio, “Go and get ready because we need to head off to the radio interview soon! You have 20 minutes max!” The mention of a time limit had the two youngest, Shinwa and Lee, running off to go and get ready while the older three took their time.
With a quick wardrobe change, some makeup and a car drive later, the group known as Canvas were at the radio station. All members sat around a large, circle-shaped desk with headphones on and a microphone in front of them, two radio hosts with them. Per request, the group started off the interview by introducing themselves after the announcement that they were in the studio;
“1! 2!” The group chanted, “Paint the sky! We are Canvas!”
“If you don’t know who these guys are then where have you been?!” The female host questioned with a laugh.
“That’s right!” The male host affirmed, “Today we have every single member with us!: Y/n, Ren, Taewoo, Lee and Shinwa!”
Eventually, the studio calmed down and after a few basic questions of how they were doing and how life had been for them, the hosts moved on to some questions that were prepared specifically for the interview; “So! I’ll get the biggest question out of the way first…” one of the hosts began, leaning closer to the mic, “Can the fans expect a comeback soon?”
The question sent a buzz of excitement through the group, the fact that they had to keep it a secret bringing a grin to their faces as they looked between each other “Well…” The eldest member spoke up, “Unfortunately, we can’t say a single thing but please wait a little bit longer for us!” Murmurs began to fill the room in anticipation, Rens words clearly hinting at a bigger production that was going on behind the scenes. More questions were fired around the studio, ranging from “Who takes the longest to get up?” and “Who has improved the most?”; this went on for a while before the hosts announced that it was time for fan questions. The members adjusted their sitting positions, headphones and mics, getting a bit more excited for these questions as the fans tended to ask questions that were a lot more interesting.
“So the first question is about instruments!” The female host began, “This fan asks, ‘Do any of the members play an instrument. If yes, what instrument do you play?’”
The members of the group looked in between each other, trying to confirm if one of them did; Y/n sat in silence, the mention of instruments bringing back thoughts of his dream.
“I don’t think so?” Lee spoke, resting his head on his chin, confusion in his tone.
“Ah! No!” the youngest exclaimed, drawing all attention to himself, “Y/n-Hyung does! You play the violin don’t you?”
Y/n blinked in surprise before letting out a chuckle slip from his lips as he rubbed at his neck, “I do play the violin actually, I just don’t find the time nowadays…” He trailed off, “I really should get back into playing…” Everyone in the room nodded, slightly uncomfortable at the male's vague tone. They then moved on to the next question, What hobbies do you have? The group couldn’t help but laugh, Taewoos standing out the most. The second oldest went on to mention that sleep and eating were at the top of everyone's list due to lack of time to do things. Each member mentioned something simple afterwards to add some substance to the question; then came the second to last question.
“So this fan is wondering what soulmarks each member has?” The male host's eyebrows shooting up in surprise, “Brave question to ask, listener, let's get some answers then…”
“Well, my soulmark is quite obvious isn’t it?” Shinwa grinned, “You can’t miss it. Not every day that you see someone with a whole vine of roses stretching wrist to wrist is it?”
“Ren-hyung and I have the timer soulmark” Taewoo followed up, earning a hum from the eldest, “The only difference is that they’re in different spots. Mines is on my wrist while his is on his neck I believe”
Next was Lee “My soulmark is where whatever your soulmate draws on themselves shows up on you” He wistfully sighed out, “Pretty common and not that special.”
“Ah! I hear that you’ve met your soulmate? Are the rumours true?” One of the hosts probed, their ears turning red at the personal question.
The second youngest let out an airy chuckle at the question “We’ve never actually met in person but she does write to me every day and before every performance. However, we normally text as it’s easier” Lee couldn’t help but grin, making everyone else smile. He had been the first to meet their soulmate when he was much younger due to the very obvious direct connection to each other; he was so whipped but he didn’t care.
“Right, moving on!” The female host called out to break the overwhelmingly stuffy atmosphere, “Y/n! You’re getting older and is there still no sign of your soulmate?”
The leader couldn’t help but wince at the direct jab at his age and situation but decided to be professional and move past it; this didn’t stop his brain from recounting the moment he met his soulmate over and over again “I… still don’t know my soulmark…” He lied through gritted teeth, “I do hope to meet them soon and discuss what might have taken us so long to meet…” The tension in the room was suffocating everyone, the question a very touchy one to approach.
To break the tension as soon as possible, the hosts moved on to the next question “So the last question is quite simple” The male host coughed out as he awkwardly adjusted his headphones and mic, “Are there any particular groups you enjoy listening to?”
A few different groups were thrown around as well as some solo artists just for fun, all from the other members of Canvas; as to not be left out, Y/n jumped in with his thoughts “I quite like NCT and Bts” He spoke as he rubbed at his chin, “They have quite the variety of genres and its nice to listen to.” Gasps filled the room, making Y/n blink in confusion.
“Y/n-ssi...” The female host spoke, hand over her mouth, “You like Bts? Even with the comparisons made of you and Suga-ssi? How?”
The male couldn’t help but grit his teeth as he brought the microphone closer to his lips “I don’t know where this idea of us being rivals came from?” He began, eyes fiery, “I don’t understand the notion of rivalry in the idol industry as it likely does more harm than good. I’d like to meet with Suga-sunbae one day but I think it’d be awkward due to the supposed ‘relationship’ of rivalry we have as portrayed by the media…” Y/n stopped to take a deep breath, rubbing at his temples in an attempt to calm down.
The silence in the room was deadly, one breath in and you might just die from suffocation. Both hosts let out awkward and forced coughs to break the silence before deciding that now was the time to end the interview; the members said their goodbyes and made their way to to the van that would take them home. In the van, their manager looked Y/n in the eyes and shook his head in disappointment. He let the male know that it was his turn to do a V-live and to not have an outburst or say anything stupid tonight as he did back in the radio station. Y/n simply nodded and sat there in silence for the rest of the journey.
Once home, the group sat at the table to have some food, silence aching and pulling on their minds. It wasn’t till the end of the meal that one of the members decided to speak up about what just happened “So…” Ren began quietly, his tone pointed and on edge, “What was that about Y/n?”
Y/n winced at the tone of his hyungs voice, the words digging into him like knives “It was nothing, it doesn’t matter” he fired back
“Didn’t seem like nothing to me…”
“Well, it was! So just-” the volume of his voice spiked before coming back down, “- leave it will you?” The other members at the table glanced between each other, they knew the topic would be touchy after the interview and they were all curious about what had happened; it was just that none of them wanted to ask about it. As Ren kept probing into the issue, The youngest looked as if he was about to cry while Lee and Taewoo tried to look for a moment to diffuse the situation. Suddenly, Y/n stood up, his chair scraping against the floor, and slammed his hands on the table;
“Look! If you want to know so bad, fine!” He seethed, “I can’t cope with this! It’s all so new to me while everyone here has had time to come to terms with it. I don’t wanna hear anything anymore so I’m going upstairs to do the live. Goodnight!” And then he left, not bothering to clean his plate up or take it to the kitchen.
In his room, Y/n took a moment to calm down and then began to set up his camera for the v-live; he sat at his desk with all his art supplies and then hit the broadcast button. He let the view count go up for a while and greeted a few people as they greeted him. The male then took a proper look at the comments, noting the ones that asked where the other members were and the ones in English, picking one out to answer “M/n-ie you were on the radio today right?” he read out in a higher-pitched voice, “You’re right! I was indeed. I hope you all enjoyed it?”
The comments set off like crazy, ignoring all the questions that asked about his soulmate, instead choosing to show them the drawing he had worked on a few days ago. He lifted his sketchbook to show the camera and began to talk about it, not noticing the page beginning to move and show the drawing he made last night. The comments went crazy and it took a moment for Y/n to notice. His eyes scanned the comments closely before flitting up to his sketchbook, panic taking over his tired eyes.
He didn’t know what to do, everyone had seen it so what should he do? He couldn’t just play it off as if he didn’t see it or that it wasn’t there; he was so lucky that he didn’t draw facial features otherwise he would have been done for. Y/n could feel the cogs turning in his head. “I… uhhhh…” Y/n drawled out, mind trying to come up with words, “I d-drew this last night? Yeah! I drew this last night because it came to me in my dreams” His eyes scanned the gentle features of the drawing, silently critiquing the drawing at the same time.
“It was weird, I was there and someone else was too…” The comments began showing up like crazy, so many asking if his soulmark might be the soulmate dream room type and that he had only just found out. Y/n shook his head, his eyes suddenly absent of any emotion “It couldn’t be my soulmark type, there's no way that someone who's like a rival to me would be my soulmate. It was just a stupid dream…”
His words barely noted in his mind, but he did pick up on them; Y/n decided that then would be a good time to end the live before he did anything else that might be controversial or stupid. He said his goodbyes, shut down the live and went to bed, choosing to turn his phone on silent in an attempt to stop the constant notifications that appeared on his phones dull screen.

part 2
Blake
Blake sat on the steps of the agora, his back to the entrance. He was near one of the white marble columns, thicker than tree trunks and almost as tall as the old firs that blanketed the hills near his winter estate. He sat still enough that he could have been mistaken for one of the statues that lined the perimeter of the grand temple. Even if he’d positioned himself in the middle where a growing crowd of Vessels had gathered and now mingled, he knew his presence wasn’t exactly welcome. He wasn’t exactly a mingler, either.
He could just imagine the unease rolling off the other Vessels as they regarded him, trying to figure out what he would do.
I’m not like that-- like him, he argued to his imaginary scenario.
He sat, his head resting on his clasped hands portraying a look of false serenity. He almost looked like he was praying and not nursing a wicked hangover. He had mastered this stillness from years of toeing the line between outcast and loner. He figured it was easier for everyone if the young Vessel of Hades wasn’t that visible. He learned to absorb noise and release nothing, even in the last couple of months when his circle of friends started to grow.
He always felt like boulder in a room of earthquakes. A room of noise and excitement that echoed and multiplied until it was unbearable-- until he cracked.
Kat understood this a little bit--and drinking ambrosia always helped ease that destructive teetering he felt in big groups.
Today there wasn’t any ambrosia so he took what precautions he could. Isolation and a dark pair of sunglasses would get him through today’s Induction.
He was always losing his footing. Not anymore, he promised himself.
Blake could hear Danny’s fluttering feet before he sat down. Danny wasn’t exactly what he would call subtle, his long limbs and curly russet hair making him stick out. That and the fact that he utilized his ability to fly whenever he could. Where Blake wasn’t generous with his movement, Danny was teetering with energy; his gawky body almost vibrating with the need to stay in motion.
“Hey!” Danny said grinning. Danny was easy to smile, in almost all situations, unlike Blake. “Have you heard who they think is coming? I saw that Ares kid with the shaved head taking bets. I didn’t, obviously, but my money’s on another Zeus-- if the crowd is anything to go by. They don’t announce open attendance for just anybody.”
Danny had a way of steamrolling through a conversation without actually noticing he was doing it. It suited Blake fine because that meant that he didn’t really have to contribute that often. His head and jaw ached and talking was an effort.
“I have no idea.” And I don’t really care.
But he had to admit that Danny was right. Usually only the mayor and the most powerful Vessels get to witness an Induction and welcome a new arrival, which unfortunately for Blake, meant him. As the Vessel of Hades, god of death, he had a standing invitation to basically every important ritual in New Olympus-- whether he or anyone else wanted him to attend.
And since he had been to every Induction since he was Inducted himself when he was eight, he knew what Vessels were represented. Almost everyone if he remembered correctly. Blake’s stomach did a queasy flip flop. Almost. He tried not to push that thought out of his mind.
“You’re probably right,” Blake said. “Not that we need another Zeus running around. Martin and Harvey are more than enough.”
“True. I just hope the Gift is a good one.” Danny continued, “Elliot’s was the worst, remember? I smelled like fish for a week.”
Poseidon had to have a twisted sense of humor to flood the agora with seawater and seaweed. Blake could almost smell the fishy reek it left in his clothes through multiple washes. He had to throw out his favorite hoodie.
“That was pretty bad.” Blake said, lifting his head. He finally swept his gaze across the temple, taking in the crowd.
He could spot Harvey mingling with a crowd in the middle like he was already mayor, all smiles firm handshakes. The sleet colored suit he wore was fitted to his tall frame, making him seem older than seventeen, and his silver lightning bolt cufflinks flashed with his hands. There weren’t really elections-- no one really cared to go against a Vessel of Zeus for mayor-- but he had a sharp smile on his face like he was campaigning anyway.
Even though he was in the thick of crowd, talking to a some older Vessels Blake didn’t know, Harvey’s friends weren’t too far away. Blake spotted Bianca’s periwinkle curls easily. She was near the middle as she laughed at something Minnie said. Minnie tilted her head up to Bianca and if anyone didn’t know her they would think she was angry, her mouth set and her eyebrows furrowed. But her best friend Bianca had to cover her face with her hand in order to control her laughter. She even clapped a hand onto Mason’s shoulder, his golden glow rising off his skin as he too laughed at whatever Minnie said to them.
They turned their heads with smiles on their faces as Elliot called to them. He pushed his way through the crowd, dark spots forming on his sweater where his dark, wet hair curled onto it. Years of being stuck in class with this group gave Blake an odd feeling when he watched them. He wasn’t their friend, but he knew them pretty well. He guessed it was like watching a group of friends of a television show grow up. He doubted they knew anything about him-- and he didn’t plan on telling them anything.
Blake peeked at Danny from the corner of his eye and saw how he tried to look like he was scanning the room too, but his eyes kept catching on Bianca. Blake looked away to hide his smirk.
I guess childhood crushes don’t die down so easily.
Blake skipped over Alicia in the corner smoking by a pillar, a blush blooming up his cheeks. He didn’t know much about women’s clothes, but he guessed that the gauzy pink and ostrich feather gown think she was wearing wasn’t exactly day wear. He absentmindedly wondered where her Hephaestus was, or her Ares for that matter.
Farther away was the actual mayor Martin, watching over like a general surveyed a battleground. He looked at Blake for a second, then looked away. Blake could have sworn the sides of Martin’s mouth quirked up just a hair. What was that prick up to?
No wonder Kat and the rest of them never showed up to things like this.
It reminded Blake of the part he had to play, the ever present shadow they lived in. Not as much the shadow of the gods they served, but the myth of the gods themselves. Being in such a large gathering of Vessels felt like echoes of all of the past Vessels were there as well, taking up the precious air in the agora and leaving Blake to choke.
In other words, his hangover had not gone away.
“It’s nearly sunset.” Danny said without looking at the sun behind him. He was hyper aware of time, sometimes to the second, even though he didn’t wear a watch. Blake could see the burnt orange tint of the light cast through the gaps in the columns. The new Vessel should be here any moment.
Danny drummed his hands on his thighs. He coughed. “So, do you think that there’s going to be something at Bianca’s later? You know we could just check it out, for like five seconds, it's probably not our scene anyway but--”
Danny’s voice died down or rather Blake stopped being able to hear him as his entire being was focused on the crowd parting. The crowd silenced and parted for the figure walking to the middle of marble space. Blake could only see the back of her head-- could barely register the thick dark curls crowned in sugar-white flowers-- because he felt like he was sinking underwater, everything felt cold and numb and alive all at the same time.
Every hair in his body was raised and he knew a god’s presence had joined the Vessels. The Induction was beginning. The crowd felt it as well, looking around as the air became heavier. Blake didn’t bother looking around-- gods didn’t take corporeal forms at Inductions. If Blake was the praying type he would have asked that his guess was wrong, that it was another god who had come to give their god.
Any other god. Please.
Time slowed down, or maybe everything was normal and it was his heart that was jackhammering so fast time couldn’t keep up. He was surprised the foundation didn’t shake as he tried to get a grip on himself.
Everyone was kneeling, their arms outstretched to her. She had turned around, confusion written on her face. A distant part of Blake’s brain wondered how she could become a Vessel at her age. She looked like she was in her late teens, like Blake.
His mouth was dry and his breath uneven. He felt like he was unraveling.
Get a grip! He clenched his hands into fists until he was sure he broke skin. He could barely feel Danny’s hand clasping his shoulder and whispering to him, asking what was wrong. Blake couldn’t answer-- he didn’t trust his words. No one but Danny noticed Blake’s distress.
Martin was almost done with the ceremonial greeting, his voice booming out. “-and in our fortune we have found a new Vessel. One who will uphold the wills of the gods, and grant them the power they deserve. Your fate has been carved into Mount Olympus itself.”
He smiled and Blake gritted his teeth like he was preparing for impact. This was it. This could be the moment that changed everything. Blake clenched his jaw, willing himself not to lose his footing, like he promised.
“Leila, you are to receive your gift as the new Vessel of Persephone. Let fate smile upon you.” Gasps echoed through the atrium like a flock of birds taking flight and then cries of shock as a rumbling sound erupted through the agora.
The ground and the columns shook and the marble tiles cracked around them as vines broke from the floor and snaked their way up the columns. The vines were as thick as ropes and as they snaked their way up, flowers grew and bloomed. Flowers in shades of blues, purples, yellows, and pinks opened their petals. Blake didn’t know what any of them were but he wasn’t sure that they're supposed to grow the size of his head.
The rumbling continued and the crown formed a ring around the mountain of dirt that burst through the floor. A sapling broke through the dirt and quickly grew up into a full sized tree. The Vessels stared up at the tree as it grew larger and larger and Blake saw Demeter’s Vessel Camille pull the girl out of the way as the tree took up more space. It was like watching a time lapse of the life of a tree. The vines had stopped growing and the scent of flowers hung in the air.
Leaves sprouted from the reaching branches and then a sea of red flowers bloomed its way through the tree. Then just as quickly, the flowers swelled and darkened into fruit. The tree shuddered and stopped and the scent of flowers was replaced by the sweet and tart scent of pomegranates.
Pomegranates. Of fucking course.
The crowd fell silent once again and Blake swore he could hear his laughter all the way from the Underworld. The last of the sunset was fading and a orange panel of light fell on the girl. Her eyes were wide and the light made her brown eyes practically molten. She was the only person still standing in the entire space. The Gift was given, but the crowd knew what the pomegranate tree meant; the reminder that the myth was never too far away. Blake could feel the crowd holding their breath. Her arm extended up to the lowest branch, her fingers reaching for one of the ripe fruits.
Blake couldn’t take it. The smell of the fruit turned his stomach. He stood up suddenly and made his way out of the agora, down the steps that led to the winding road down the mountain. He knew he won’t be missed and he refused to let the other Vessels see his face, make their assumptions about how he reacted. He pounded down the steps and heard the applause and cheering from behind him.
He didn’t want to be there, he didn’t want to see how it ended, how the floor was crumbling underneath him despite his best efforts. He felt that itch again, the teetering feeling like he was walking on a tightrope with no safety net. Gripping the keys to Chiron tightly, he leaned into that feeling, ducking his head as the last of the sunlight winked out behind the trees.
He headed into the night. I don’t have to keep finding my footing if I’m in freefall.

Akiba’s Beat - Localization Blog #2 - The Delusionscapes
With the release of AKIBA'S BEAT for PS4 and Vita alike less than a week away (or just over a week away, if you’re in Europe), we thought it might be nice to take a closer look at the game's "Delusionscapes" -- the dungeons created within the Tokyo district of Akihabara that make up roughly one half of the game's playtime. Some fans have been unclear as to what these are and how they work, so we figured we’d show you some of the original concept art from several choice Delusionscapes, along with providing thorough descriptions of how each one -- and the delusion that spawned it -- fit into the game's setting and overall story.
Audio Delusionscape
For a brief moment in time, Akihabara was an audiophile’s dream, with stereo equipment plentiful and knowledgeable staffers on every corner. But when’s the last time you saw someone excitedly buying a several thousand-dollar boffo stereo setup with amp, subwoofer, big honking speakers, etc.? I’m willing to bet it wasn’t anytime since the turn of the millennium, and Akihabara – its finger ever on the pulse of current technological trends – reflects that, with the audio niche being all but gone from the Akiba streets of today.
One of the central themes of AKIBA’S BEAT, however, is that sometimes, people simply cannot accept change… and in the Akiba depicted here, those who have a strong affinity for the way things used to be can actually change reality to make it that way again.
One music hipster dude, who runs one of the few surviving audio specialty stores in Akihabara, did exactly that, and created this Delusionscape full of the most amazing audio equipment you've ever seen (with perfect acoustics, no doubt!). And where did he create it? Why, at the heart of Akiba, of course: Akihabara Station, where all those heading to or from the district inevitably must go. From the outside, it just looks like the station's got a larger-than-life sound system attached to it, but on the inside, it's a maze of graphic equalizers and top-of-the-line gear.
The key part of this delusion, however, is the effect it has on the people of Akihabara, unconsciously causing Akiba residents and tourists alike to have a strange desire to go out and buy new audio equipment…
Idol Delusionscape
Cuteness, pinkness, and bunnies rule the day here, as the site of a simple concert fronted by up-and-coming idol singer Riyu Momose turns into an absolute idol paradise. Throngs of adoring (and rather creepy) fans flock to the site, guided to it like a beacon in the night, leaving our heroes with a bit of a conundrum: who among this crowd of hundreds -- nay, thousands -- could be the "deluser" responsible for dreaming up such a venue?
On the inside, the Idol Delusionscape shares its outer appearance, but dials it all up to eleven with neon color-changing lights and whimsical designs around every corner. One can only imagine the Grand Phantasm (read: boss) that awaits at the end of such a high-energy labyrinth!
The Idol Delusionscape is when the story of AKIBA'S BEAT really starts to kick into gear, presenting players with a large list of suspects as to who might be responsible for its creation, and forcing them to do some true sleuthing in order to find the answer. Is it the jovial yet overbearing Chunk Widebody? The scrawny, sweaty, and devious Twiggy Slims? Or perhaps it's the shy, awkward Megane Taro, who seems -- by all accounts -- to recognize that something isn't quite right about all of this...
Maid Delusionscape
As with the Audio Delusionscape, this one represents a period in Akiba's history that's only just now starting to come to a close: the maid boom. Maid cafes are a staple of Akiba culture, allowing reclusive "otaku" (read: nerds) not only to eat lovingly prepared food full of hearts and flowers and frills, but to have cute girls in maid outfits waiting on them hand and foot the whole time, calling them "master" and doing everything in their power to cheer them up with song and dance routines, magic shows, games... whatever it takes!
Maid cafes are still abundant in Akihabara today, with locations like Maidreamin and Granvania serving as landmarks to travelers in the district, and girls in full maid outfits still handing out sale flyers to passers-by on a daily basis. However, if you went back in time only a few years -- roughly to the period when AKIBA'S TRIP: Undead & Undressed was released -- you'd find maid culture to be more of a dominant force than it is today. In other words, it's still going strong... but it's noticeably waning, losing ground to idol culture and other otaku whims.
This is where the Maid Delusionscape comes in. From the outside, it appears as a beacon of maid symbology (frilly lace, rice omelettes with ketchup hearts drawn on them, etc.) at the site of an in-universe branch of the "Maidiators" cafe -- and this carries through to the inside as well (albeit with more imagery of bars and chains, suggesting the “deluser” responsible for this delusion might feel a bit trapped). But it's the effect the maid delusion has on Akiba that's most noticeable, essentially restoring the maid boom in full... and then some. As long as the Maid Delusionscape exists, maids will be more popular in Akihabara than ever, surpassing their peak numbers from the early-to-mid 2010s. And if that happens... well, it doesn't sound all that bad, does it? But one could argue that it'll cause the district to be thrown out of balance, losing its propensity for change. And without that, Akiba just isn't Akiba anymore!
As such, the Maid Delusionscape chapter is the first time the game’s characters really start to ask: is it right to destroy someone's delusion, even when it doesn't seem to be doing any harm? Should delusions be condemned simply for "defacing reality"? Or should they, under certain circumstances, perhaps be embraced?
“Chuuni” Delusionscape
There are numerous Japanese terms that come up so regularly in the anime fandom, they've basically become adopted into the worldwide "anime lexicon" at this point. "Baka," for example, is a word most anime fans know means "idiot," and "tsundere" is a word most anime fans know refers to someone who's mean and abrasive on the outside to cover up her (usually her) inner emotionality.
One that doesn't come up as often, however, but is absolutely key to understanding the story of AKIBA'S BEAT (and is thus left untranslated, but clearly outlined to players during the course of the game, even in the original Japanese), is "chuuni." Literally "junior high sophomore," it's an abbreviated version of the larger slang term "chuunibyou," or roughly "eighth-grade sickness." This somewhat derogatory term refers to people who are obsessed with the types of "edgy" things typically associated with fiction targeted toward eighth-graders: large unwieldy swords, characters with mysterious pasts, pretentiously poetic dialogue that obscures the meaning of crucial passages, heroic acts of self-sacrifice, focusing one's power "over 9000," etc.
This Delusionscape, then, is fairly low-key and personal compared to a lot of the others in the game. Its effects on the district are minimal, but those who dare to enter it are met with a unique brand of opposition in the form of a dark-cloaked man with a large axe who speaks in riddles. The key to passing by him is solving his riddles, and the key to that is finding the source of the delusion -- the person who dreamed up this den of tired anime stereotypes in the first place. But can that be done before the power of the Chuuni Delusionscape collapses in on itself like a neutron star?! Find out next time... on AKIBA'S BEAT!
Electronics Delusionscape
This is one of the more surprising Delusionscapes in the game, I think. When you hear “electronics,” you probably aren’t picturing quite what you get here – verdant green grass and moss, with a general feeling of nature encroaching upon everything around you. How does this relate to electronics? Well, if you look a bit closer, you'll see: mixed in with all the foliage (indeed, almost camouflaged by it) are air-conditioning units, fans, microwaves, washing machines, refrigerators, and all manner of other home appliances (you don’t actually have to look THAT close in the concept art image, but in-game, these appliances are a bit fewer in number and more well-hidden). These aren't the electronics that first spring to mind when most of us hear the word, but make no mistake: these are the electronics that made Akihabara what it is today. And here, they're shown as being forgotten... abandoned... left out for so long that they're overgrown with moss and vines, likely never to function again.
This is the delusion of someone who controls a vast empire of home appliances, but either regrets that he’s still living in Akihabara’s past, or is afraid his goods will be rendered obsolete by newer, more advanced inventions. It’s the delusion of an insecure store owner – the hidden underbelly of a “home appliance boom” that's happening on the outside, with people suddenly snatching up home appliances in droves like never before... when in reality, one rarely goes to Akihabara for home appliances these days. The meaning of “electronics” – indeed, of “Electric Town” in general – has changed into a completely different beast over the last few decades. And there are clearly some who would prefer not to change with it, and will fight tooth and nail to keep things the way they once were.
Represented in one of the more emotional chapters of AKIBA'S BEAT, the events surrounding the Electronics Delusionscape hit pretty hard, and may be some of the more memorable and intense moments found in the entire game.
They are also, sadly, very easy to spoil, so I shall speak no more on the subject!
In fact, to talk about any of the other Delusionscapes at this point would be virtually impossible without spoiling crucial story scenes, so suffice it to say we've only just scratched the surface here -- there are many, many more in this game, each with their own story to tell!
If you could make any delusion into reality, what would your delusion be? Where would it be located, and what effect would it have on your town/city/village/trailer park/biodome? What would the inside of its Delusionscape look like, and what “Grand Phantasm” -- representative of the core concept from deep within your soul that spawned this delusion in the first place -- would await at the end of it?
We’ve been asking ourselves that very same question here at the XSEED offices, and if you’re lucky, maybe we’ll share a few of our answers with you in a future blog. Because let me tell you, we're all delusers, baby (though please don't kill us!).
In the meantime, you can join Asahi & co. on their delusion-filled journey May 16th in North America or May 19th in PAL regions, on PS4 or Vita, both versions containing dual voice and dual text (so you can play with any combination you’d like of Japanese or English voice-acting or text). And in fact, although we previously stated that players would have to download the Japanese voices as free DLC for the Vita version, it turns out we were able to include them as part of the base game after all, so all users on both PS4 and Vita will have all voice and text options in all English-speaking regions, right from the start.
Are you ready to be deluded?

SOMETHING ROTTEN! 1.1.17 - FINAL PERFORMANCE (#27)
well well well. here we are. after a year and a half, rotten says goodbye on broadway. i’m super sad about it but i’m grateful it is going on tour and will continue to spread joy and laughter around the country.
here was my day at rotten’s final performance! (warning this is super dramatic and emotional)
i’m going to bold the moments i started crying just for dramatic effort (well i was tearing up the whole day but these moments were like....The Emotional Moments)
the first was on the train where i remembered “hey, i’m on the train to see something rotten for the last time”
i got to the theatre at around 3:30. i stood under it and took it all in. and there was no one around, weirdly, which really added to the effect. i took long, lasting looks at the marquee and the wallpaper. i crossed the street over to phantom to look at the theatre from afar. i couldn’t believe in 24 hours, it would all be gone. my home would be gone.
then i met up with me pals (@stuff-and-shenanigans and other pals who don’t have tumblrs) and we went to get food and then got ready for the show in our matching t-shirts bc we’re annoyingly extra. hayley headed to the theatre early and we met up with her. while we were waiting in line i saw christian borle and his dresser, meredith, walk into the restaurant right next to the theatre and i was so shook. i knew he was gonna be at the show, i just didn’t expect to turn around and boom there he is!
finally the time came and the usher who i don’t know his named but he always checks our bags and he knows us now checked our bags and we thanked him for everything and hugged him and the usher scanned my ticket and i just. began crying. last time scanning my ticket, last time walking down this long hallway.
Christian Borle and his dresser Meredith, Brooks Ashmanskas, Brian D'Arcy James, Will Chase, Jordan Roth, Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick, John O'Farrell, Kevin McCollum, Gregg Barnes, and Todrick Hall, and all the producers were in the audience tonight.
also i saw stephanie @writingplays again yay!!
i also saw karey and wayne in the lobby and i went over and said hi and wayne hugged me and we talked about the tour! they’re so freaking nice it’s really mind blowing to just?? be in the presence of the writers of ur fave show and have them remember you??
The Show!
So this was the most rowdy crowd I've ever heard in my life. Any time there was room for applause, there were waves of it. Literally just.....always cheering. Every entrance and actor made got an applause. Every applause after a song lasted twice or triple as long as it would have on any other day (A Musical and Omelette were even longer, but we'll get to that later).
cheering for Brooks's cell phone announcement (I'm so glad they kept it as Brooks for the whole run. I'd love to have seen his reaction to hearing his voice again) and for the dimming of the lights and for André's entrance.
Cheering as the curtain pulled up
The ensemble looked so happy and so ready to burst with energy. They were smiling so big and were holding back tears.
Huge applause for Rob and Josh and the troupe!!
So Rob was sick yesterday and apparently had a raging fever, which is insane because he was AMAZING. I would have never known he was sick
Robin (Aaron Kaburick) got so many cheers and laughs throughout the night i’m so happy for him
The famous “don’t be a penis” line got a huge laugh, the laugh it deserves
GERRY VICHI!!!!!!!!!!
Huge applause!!! His speech about how much he loves theatre was so passionate and so full out energy and it got a huge cheer, something i haven’t heard since previews/early run
Rob played along and even clapped for Shylock!
Also any time jews were mentioned some audience members clapped thx friends
LESLIE KRITZER!!!! WENT OFF!!!!! I love her so much she riffed the hell out of the song and just gave it her all!
When bea kisses nick, she kissed him for a rly long time and the audience started cheering so leslie broke off and then just kept kissing him again rt ur goals
Bea winked and blew nick a kiss right before running off and got a huge applause of course
Josh changed his hyperventilating/panic bit! It’s really hard to describe just in text but basically he dragged out his words “i don’t thiiiink i can wooooork under than kind of pressuuuuure”
BRAD OSCAR!!!!!
Got a huge applause!! We literally just didn’t stop so nostradamus just went with it and he started looking up and around as if he could hear voices.
Brad always gives x200 each performance, but tonight he just had so much enthusiasm and it made me so happy to see him give justice to this number.
There were cheers for the les mis joke, for when the ensemble comes out, “and then you got yourself a musical,” and the end. People were also clapping along to the song.
“And then you got yourself a musical” is the line that always gets me. It’s the loudest point in the song, it’s when everyone is lined up together, it’s just?? The best part and i really teared up at that part.
The standing ovation started when everyone had their headsketches up. It was really incredible to see the actors smiling so wide, really taking in the audience. Most of the ensemble was crying. I was in the second row so I could turn around and see the orchestra, the mezz, and the balcony all on their feet. I saw Jordan Roth standing and beaming. It was really magical.
The applause clocked in at approximately a minute and 30 seconds, which doesn’t seem like a lot of time but trust me when i say it felt like five minutes. Then when everyone sat down, the applause started back up again to last another 30 seconds.
So Elizabeth Earley went on in Marisha’s track, meaning she was the ugly woman Nigel accidentally points at. And she did the funniest bit i have ever seen in that role. Nigel pointed at her and she screamed at him, shaked her butt, and just kept dancing and the crowd went wild. She hovered over to the fruit stand and bought grapes from the seller and proceeded to eat them in front of everyone. The crowd was LIVING. I didn’t think i could laugh any harder until she took ANOTHER grape vine and offered it to portia and portia said no so she just gobbed on them. This literally went on for a full minute. I’ve only seen a funny bit done in this role before at that was with Tracee. Elizabeth Earley is so fantastic I’m so glad i got to see her shine!
I’ve never laughed harder at black death than i had last night
“Pleasure’s a sin”
“YOU SHOULDA BEEN A BETTER REAPER”
Any time bea mentioned feminism the crowd cheered
Eric’s “YO BEAR SHIT BOY” was FIRE
I Love the Way was so frickin CUTE
Will Power was so fire and I kept thinking of Christian in the audience watching and wondering what he was thinking
“Thanks for helping with my wood”
Adam’s “hmm” are so funny
THEY KEPT CHRISTIAN’S ICE SCULPTURE THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE RUN AND I WOULD KILL TO KNOW WHAT CHRISTIAN WAS THINKING WHEN HE SAW HIS ICE SCULPTURE ROLL OUT ON STAGE
Bottoms Gonna Be On Top might honestly be my fave number i just love it so much
THE TAP BATTLE ok so any time the crowd cheered for Shakespeare, Nick looked at the audience (specifically in my direction??) like “what no stop!!” and rob did the most hilarious thing. When shakespeare asks “you wrote omelette?” rob mimed a string lifting up his knee, then mimed lifting up his foot, and the mimed cutting the string and his foot landed on the ground and he said “yes” that was so brilliant and unexpected i hope he keeps that on tour
Intermission
I said hi to Gregg Barnes!! we had a rly nice convo about his costumes and tour and seeing the show develop from previews and he’s honestly such a nice guy. he thanked me for supporting the show and coming back and i rly can’t wait to see what he does in the future
i headed over to the lobby and saw some of my pals talking to jordan roth so i said hi to them and jordan said hi and welcomed me back and complimented the matching shirts!!
I saw todrick hall in the lobby and we made eye contact and he smiled and i waved?? I don’t know him super well and he doesn’t know me at all but that was a cool moment!!
dina @sscsldcp had a free snack voucher so i went with her on line to get a drink and we ended up behind christian on line with brian and brooks in our vicinity. i said hi to christian and he smiled and said hi and that he was happy to see me!! (that sounds super general but he was actually so nice and generous!!)
Act Two (idk why act two notes are shorter than act one notes??)
Again i just kept thinking about Christian watching Adam do HTBTB
“i like the new york actor”
The scene where nigel reads his poem to portia got so much response!
We see the light was so fun and happy
Tari’s last “so true PREACH IT”
Everyone awwed when nigel and portia kissed!
“DON’T DO THAT” left the audience SILENT and SHOOK my fave moment of the show
To thine own self was fire
Adam’s toby screech
Right hand man reprise was so sweet and touching
MAKE AN OMELETTE!!!!!!
My favorite line in the whole show, “my father said this to me, that he did and then he blew me………….away” got so much laughter thank u thank u
Another standing ovation for Omelette. Pretty much the same as before. Lasted a minute. So much smiling and energy from everyone in the theatre.
To thine own self reprise :((((((( man i was crying
“And brother. I know just the story we should tell”
I was full out sobbing during the finale and the curtain speech
John and kate popped out stage left during the speech and i was so shook???? Surprise ALL ur faves are here!!!!!
Stage Door
Edward Hibbert, Catherine Brunell, Aaron Kaburick, Leslie Kritzer, Angie Schworer, Max Clayton, Stacey Todd Holt, Elizabeth Earley, Jenny Hill, Rob McClure, Josh Grisetti, Tari Kelly, Brad Oscar, Leah Hofmann, Beth Nicely, the Kirkpatricks, John O’Farrell, Jordan Roth, Kate Reinders, and John Cariani all came out. I saw Eric but he had to leave.
I basically just thanked everyone and wished them well. I got hugs from Catherine, Leslie, Tari, Eric, and Beth.
I took a ton of photos with my pals and as I was walking away from the theatre I just lost it. It felt so wrong leaving the theatre knowing it would all be gone.
and that.....was my night. if i remember any more i’ll update this post but ye thanks for reading and thank you to all my SR pals on this website!! ur the real bros!!
