Me playing Rimworld like a scifi family simulator? never.

anyways, i've been playing far too much Rimworld so have some little doodles of my main couple's four kinda creepy kids lol. I will admit, "Feral" is technically his nickname, but i can't remember what they actually named him and i don't feel like booting up my game just to check.

Sandy and Feral are very close in age. Timothy is pretty close behind them, and Alice only just hit toddler stage recently. I was sooo worried about Timothy when he was tiny. B/c he was born sick, recovered from that only to catch malaria. Recovered from that and immediately caught the plague. he's alright now.

Sandy and Feral will sit on their dad's research desk to watch him work in game, and i think that's just the cutest thing, so i doodled that too.

fun fact! According to Alice's genetics, she's supposed to have purple hair, but she, instead, matches Timothy with his grey/white hair.

there's a lot of other kids running around my colony too, but they belong to others (one being just a clone lol). no joke, i think i have 5-6 adults and about 8 kids running around the place. it's chaos. i love it lol : )

you guys feel cheated. the potential you can recognise within yourselves hasn't manifested in your day to day life. you're not as independent as you thought you'd be by now, not as educated, as capable, as stable etc. it has you feeling very low but, be very careful of playing the blame game. do not navigate the world as if it's supposed to automatically see your talents and give itself to you on a silver platter. our potential is meant to be honed and crafted, we're not born fully formed. and when we try to protect our egos by placing blame on others for lack of results we are robbing ourselves of the opportunity to grow and become who we could be.

Pile 3 (lip oil):

you had a blast from the past! you crossed paths with an old friend, lover, crush, someone you haven't seen in a long time, and it woke up some nostalgic feelings. it's almost like you forgot how good life can feel, and you crave it. however, this poses a bit of a problem because you're faced with some kind of a choice now. to go back to that feeling some things in your current life you're attached to would have to change or be gone completely. it is a difficult decision and you have my sympathy, but do your very best to remain calm, don't make moves in the heat of the moment, pull your focus back on the big picture. make sure whatever you end up doing is something you'll be okay with 5, 10, maybe even 20 years from now. best of luck.

actually no im gonna yap

im trying SO HARD to gaslight myself into liking veilguard but so many narrative choices just make me scratch my head. I AM NOT DONE, I currently gotta go to Weisshaupt.

I'll start with things I like so far:

1. I think the game is really pretty and I like the puzzles :) Antiva is GORGEOUS, I think one of the prettiest areas in the entire series.

2. I really like the Minrathous/Treviso choice. More of that please! some actual drama and consequence!

3. Assan is adorable and I cannot walk past without petting him. I didn't anticipate myself liking Davrin so much since I'm usually drawn to magic babies over warriors, but he's probably my favourite alongside Bellara. I think him having left his clan is very interesting narrative choice (I am totally not biased considering it's very similar to Daee's story)

4. Thank you lord almighty for the wardrobe/mirror system. Godbless.

5. Everytime Lucanis speaks I think of Puss in Boots and that brings me great joy. Whimsy even.

6. When you place Tevinter decor in the lighthouse, they have a Hookah right beside a fresco of Solas killing Mythal and that is mind bogglingly hilarious. I do love that the Shadow dragons know how to unwind. We're turning up after fighting for elf rights.

7. Solas surviving entirely on meat, raisins and honey feels very r/malelivingspace

Things I am Not Liking So Far

1.Minrathous feels utterly toothless. Its described as terrible, den of slavery, conversion therapy through blood magic, treatment of elves being terrible - yet we walk around unimpeded. I expected a similar experience as the Winter Palace, or fights that could be avoided if playing as a human.

LAVELLAN is introduced in the TEVINTER TAVERN, wearing TEVINTER CLOTHING, like it doesn't...make much sense to me? Inquisition set up the cross roads with Morrigan AND the Inquisitior, it feels like it would have made much more sense narratively not just from..."I am the fucking Inquisitor In Fucking Minrathous" but "Solas and the crossroads are a vital connecting point of these characters story."

Speaking of Inquisitor, wildly bizarre to me that neither Solas nor Varric comment on you meeting them. Solas has a weird painting of the Inquisitor chair, but you meet the mf face to face and he just does't acknowledge it. I am not a Solavellan player but I felt Really Bad For Them In That Moment.

I think a good moment of comparison is the difference in tone of DAI and DATV...When we find out the orb is elven in DAI, Solas warns us to keep it to ourselves, with Lavellan even remaking that the world will blame us for Corypheus. In DATV, we inform everyone that Elven gods are attacking, and there's no thought or conversation about the impacts of that on Elves in society. The only one to mention it is Davrin way after we've been spilling the beans left and right.

2. I'm not done the story but hey has anyone mentioned we haven't fought a single Fen'Harel agent, what's up with that... I expected to be fighting Elves based on the epilogue in Tresspasser but ?? ???

3. I'm sorry I HATE THEM DISREGARDING THE WELL OF SORROWS IN FAVOUR OF MORRIGAN WHEN SOLAS MAKES A HUGE DEAL OF YOU BEING TIED TO MYTHAL IF YOU DRANK FROM THE WELL. Oh sorry, if it was unimportant then why the fuck did you go on a monologue about how you're "her creature" and connected to her. It felt like a retcon of the importance placed on it in Inquisition and how much of a deal both Solas AND Morrigan make about it. I'm sorry picking a ROMANCE was more important than acknowledging THIS?? ? ??

"But Ravie, they can't account for Inquisitors personality and making them important would piss people off" then just kill them off. If they're set on Morrigan carrying this piece of narrative, I would have written the Inquisitor off the table before the choice becomes relevant. Have them help you in the ritual at the start of the game and die. I feel similarly about Varric, because he feels like the writers stuffed him in the closet to not talk which just...JUST KILL HIM. Its better than being relegated to furniture!!!!

3. Speaking of Morrigan why the hell is so nice. This is not my beautiful mean witch wife. In fact everyone is nice. Even hardened Lucanis has been polite to me.

4. I HAVE A BONE TO PICK WITH ROOK. I profoundly hate starting off friends with Varric (and him getting shelved like what was the point). It ruins a lot of initial RP for character establishment, because it limits how the player character FEELs about the whole thing, your motivations are GIVEN to you. Furthermore, it feels like rook HAS an established character. I don't feel like I got to play my rook, just say things slightly differently based on an already established character. I dont feel like I am roleplaying a custom character, just as Biowares stand in protagonist. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the level of interaction that BG3 provided me.

The opening sequence is bizarre to me, because IF I MAKING THE STORY....I would have had the introductory quests for each of the companions be the first quest based on the faction you select (Shadow dragons with Neve, Mournwatch with Emmerich, Crows with Lucanis etc. etc.) That way you establish your character based on the faction and immediately get a little tutorial on what kind of character you're going to be playing. I would even keep the introductory quests the same with minor dialogue tweaks. The ritual would come after the tutorial prologue mission and then you start with Harding and the companion you got introduced with, since the order you get them...really doesn't matter or impact anything.

5. I think the Venatori and Antaam following Elven Mage Gods is kinda dumb. Sorry. I thought they both looked down on them for being either Elves or Mages/didn't even acknowledge them. What the hell is their goal anyway

My criticisms comes down to...I don't know what themes the game is trying to tackle? The game SAYS things but doesn't actually do anything with these topics. Minrathous HAS a slavery problem but we don't see it. Treviso is ruled by a faction of assassins but it's like a good thing! Elven gods are responsible for everything wrong in the world, but the narrative implications of what that means for modern elves are acknowledged in passing like acknowledging the weather. The game feels hesitant to actually unpack any of these things despite being the one to put them on the table.

Anyway I am going to finish the game and probably play on Daee with a Solavellan Inquisitor to see if that improves my experience by picking a character who is more tailored to the Rook they portray/not having an emotional connection to the Inky, but atm...Man I Had Hopes. Made me feel stupid for getting so hyped up for a conclusion to a story arc for a character THEY SPECIFICALLY LEFT ON A CLIFFHANGER FOR A DECADE. I'll just draw art, lie face down in the ground and imagine a more narratively satisfying conclusion to my Inquisitors story.

If my memory serves me correct, you've shown us your take on Mona's parents and 5-Volt's hubby. Have you devised anything about the other parents? Like Kat and Ana's or 18-Volt's? I know we heard only snippets about those and 13-Amp's in canon...kinda. It's interesting how many gaps imagination could fill in when it comes to WarioWare.

Sure have! Ashley's, too. And Wario's mom. And Spitz's dad, although I never actually showed my design of him because it's kind of underwhelming. I also have Dribble's extended family rattling around in my head too (similarly underwhelming because it's just a bunch of dogs). Really I just find it fun to take cartoon characters whose family has been vaguely alluded to at best and fill in the blanks to explain why they're like that. It's like a coloring book. I haven't drawn Kat+Ana's or 18-volt's though...my take on Kat and Ana's parents needs more time in the oven, because 1) i feel like i need to get my finger more on the pulse of campy ninja movies before I can successfully pastiche them, and 2) I don't think I can top this bit from jan Misali's esteemed novella Wario Faces Consequences For His Actions:

I haven't drawn 18-volt's mom before, although I'd probably end up drawing her sooner than the twins only because I have a better handle on her situation. According to 18-volt's stage in Gay Man Wario, his mom is a lot less smothering than 5-volt and is instead rarely around, letting 18-volt play video games whenever he wants. He's clearly a latchkey kid with a single mom who works long hours to support them both, which is both sad and also on par with the rest of the lonely children of WarioWare. 18-volt has been sidelined for so long, but given the crazy deep cuts that Warioware throws out sometimes (e.g. cicada, the music box from WL3, the fact that 5-volt herself was hinted at all the way back in mega microgames), there is a non-zero chance, however slim, that we may one day see her for real. She deserves to have fun too!!

According to my research, God cursed him with immortality after he committed the first murder.In fact, I think it was mentioned as "the man who wants to die more than anything else and cannot die"He can go to hell if he wants, but he is not a sinner and has been wandering around the world for thousands of years.And I guess that makes him an interesting character because I don't think the human mind is designed to live that long.That's why Cain's experiences and personality are interesting.

The writers were so cruel to her! I'm still not over it, and I'm mulling over a fix-it fic for her (one-shot probably). Ichabbie (Ichabod Crane and Abbie Mills) are in third place, but a very distant third. I lost all respect for Sleepy Hollow after how they treated both Abbie the character and Nichole Beharie the actress.

...no. Not really. I mean, I guess you could count CaptainSwan from OUAT, but that's less I didn't like the ship and more I wanted to get rid of Emma so EYE could have Hook.

Mai/Aang (or Flying Dagger as I call them). I don't even really consider this a crack ship. Don't get me wrong, I see them being a disaster together, but not in a cracky sort of way. More of a reality show couple way.

Zutara these days. It used to be more of an even split between my top 3 ships, but the fact that I get around to reading anything these days feels like an accomplishment.

oOOOOooohhhhhhhh i get it now. i have Identified the Problem that has caused the most recent amadeus-related crisis/spiral/whatever you want to call it.

there are 5-ish "roles" that i have taken on as a solo dev:

project manager

musician/sound director

programmer/implementation engineer

writer/narrative lead

artist/art director

and for each i THOUGHT i had figured out how to tackle them.

project management: I've had some experience managing collaborative projects (GBA collab album, mystery jam game), I also solicited advice from other indie devs I met at Seattle Indies Expo, and I *also* applied what I learned about how we manage projects in facilities at my day job using Asana and have applied that to Amadeus. I very consciously treated this as a skill to learn and taking that specific skill seriously has helped a lot.

music: ...I straight up went to grad school for this. I took like a billion units every semester so I could learn as much as possible about composition AND mixing/production. This is the one thing I actually have a strong background in. I have the skillset and I also have People I can ask for feedback and advice. The music is lowkey going to carry this whole project.

programming: I went into this knowing full well I have exactly One semester of Unity/C# under my belt and have no idea what I am doing. I have experience learning basic HTML and JavaScript and have reverse engineered most of Ghost Trick's code via ROMhacking, so I have a sort of janky skillset, but it's very amateur and I knew that. I have asked SO many questions to people who are more experienced. KNOWING that this is my weakest suit has let me ask for help when I need it, and also accept that even the most polished possible form of this game is still going to be jank as fuck. That's fine. My #vision will still come through.

writing: the whole reason I set aside an entire month to just focus on the Mystery Jam game was because I knew I needed more experience writing, and specifically writing mystery. I've spoiled the whole game to two different people who have writing experience in order to bounce ideas and get feedback. I've asked for workflow advice from a third person with writing experience. Identifying this as a weakness has helped me focus on improving it, and because of that I am really happy with where it's at right now.

Which leads us to....

...art.

My problem with art is that as of about 2 years ago, I was much more confident in my art than I was in basically anything else except music, because I have drawn stuff my whole life and have a shitload of informal practice at it. So I focused very heavily on the other stuff that was very obviously a weakness.

But, as we approach the final months of Go Time to finish the first episode... I'm like, hm, it turns out that the art and art direction of a visual novel are kind of important.

I *like* all of the assets I've drawn for the currently existing demo, but there are specific things about the overall look I don't quite like, and there is a specific metanarrative Thing that I have been trying to evoke with what I'm doing visually and I feel like sticking to that is at odds with making assets that look and "feel" right.

Basically I haven't really thought as much about art direction as I should have since finishing the demo because I kinda figured I could coast on the fact I consider myself a pretty good artist. I can make things that look Nice. But now that I've worked hard at my other areas of weaknesses, the fact I haven't really sat down with my art direction in the past 4-5 months is really starting to become obvious.

All this to say.

My "assignment" for this afternoon is to sit outside listening to all the tracks I've written (including new WIP ones no one but me has heard yet CUZ THEYRE AWESOME im SO excited about the new tracks im writing for this) and reading through my revised narrative with certain finalized plot points and concepts, and just sketching out visually what the game Should Look Like. 6. What has the angstiest ending?

I'm not sure if this is "of the top five" or "of the 54 pieces I've posted on the AO3," but I'm going to go with the latter because the former has angst but not really in the ending. So.

Angstiest ending is Dear Alex, a Yuletide fic I wrote for @copperfirebird. A Wrinkle in Time is one of his very favorite books, and this is Kate and Alex Murray figuring out how to be a married couple again. It made me cry, writing it.

7. What has the happiest ending?

It might be New Year's Welcome, which is FFVIII Seifer/Squall/Rinoa and is about finding a home and a place when you thought you'd lost everything.

8. Have I received hate?

Nope. Possibly because I've mostly stayed in very small fandoms.

9. Do I write smut? And what kind?

Yes, I do. If I had to describe it, I would call it lyrical smut, where it's about the flow of the words and the feeling more than the specifics.

10. Do I write crossovers?

One of my top 5s is a crossover, in fact, but it's not something I do very often.

11. Have I ever had a fic stolen?

Yeah, back in the ff.net days, and it was a very weird feeling.

No.

Many. @copperfirebird and I are partners in life and fiction.

14. What is my all-time fave ship?

I can tell you who my favorite child is (I only have one) but I could not possibly pick my favorite ship. I would have a hard time picking a favorite ship in any given fandom.

I love relationships between people whose feelings are bigger than their abilities to communicate it, but who find understanding in the silences; people who are drawn together despite all the reasons that they should not be; and people who are deeply loyal to one another.

15. A WIP I'll never finish

The Future Waits Without Us was supposed to be a large multi-part story that I wrote two pieces of.

Probably Came Too Far To Die because I have one mostly-written chapter I haven't published yet and then I have no idea what I'm doing. I have never known what I was doing with this fic, but I didn't let it stop me.

16. Writing strengths?

Lyrical prose. Three-part clauses. Emotionally complex characters. Witty banter.

17. Writing weaknesses?

Plot. Too bad that's, like, an extremely important part of story building.

18. Do I like foreign language dialogue?

This is a weird question. I don't have any problems with other people writing in multiple languages. There are bilingual characters who should use multiple languages. I'm more prone to things like, "This sentence is written in the common tongue," he said in Tyrrish.

19. First fandom I wrote for?

Dragonriders of Pern when I was in 7th grade.

20. Favourite fic I've written?

It's hard to pick one, but there are two fics that I'm always breathlessly startled I was able to write. Both of them were Yuletide requests, and I know Yuletide's coming around again when I start getting kudos for these.

The first one is In Two Bodies, Alexander and Hephaestian, inspired by Mary Renault's Alexander Trilogy. If you were wondering what I meant by "lyrical smut," this one's an excellent example.

The second one is Finding Zihuatanejo, inspired by the beautiful Stephen King short story "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption." It really feels like I got the narrator's voice down perfectly.

12. What's the funniest or craziest AU idea you've ever come up with?

I have in total, three AUs I have to finally write anything for fhasfsa (I do plan on posting Tales AU first chapter this week tho!!). 1) RHYS AI AU is something you saw me post snippets of - in general, it's an alternative version of Borderlands 2, where Jack kills Lilith and Roland very quickly and survives. Due to mourning for Nisha, Wilhelm and Angel, he one day writes code for a companion based on an imaginary friend he had but also, gives him some trait of each one of those he misses. While Rhys was going to slowly become the silly personality we know and love, this was my typical 'give the character therapy when they don't want it, and end up with them hurting someone else and trying to change'. 2) JUST WING IT AU is my Tales AU that starts with changes in ep 5, with how Rhys handles the news about Jack wanting to get that exoskeleton in him and focusing on exploring Jack's loneliness and adding him as the third character, making sort of second season for the game. The additional driving point would be that Loader Bot would be able to grab Gortys and run off with her, so the search for Vault would become longer Yet the AU I really hope to start exploring in the future, is this one: 3) Loss of what once happened but never before AU. It's a Borderlands 3 Rhack au that would focus on Rhys finding out he is a siren with huge time-travelling powers and the costs that come with it. He would turn back in time, when Jack was still known as John during the nights, and watch some of the consequences happen in the present during the day. He doesn't know though just how strong the butterfly effect will be...

22. Give us headcanons for Rhys

He actually likes fashion and likes casual official style in general.

He has a sweet tooth but pretends to like spicy food in college.

He actually had a heterochromia before the echo eye and decided to keep it.

He admired Jack a bit but he laughed at psycho fans, as he has some critical thinking.

Even a few years after getting Atlas running again, he still tries to make some guns himself, even if he doesn't have as much time.

He was the one dumped by his ex girlfriend even if he didn't like their dynamic because he was actually scared nobody else would be into him.

He spends a lot of time in the morning preparing his hair. It's quite wavy which gets visible in wetter climates but fortunately for him, he lives mostly in dry ones.

He met Katagawa and at first, couldn't believe he had a fan even if he had some boosted ego but felt something off about him. He turned off an invitation to Zanara because he still thinks about his talk with Vaughn about being good at faking cool. That's why he is even more awkward in future games, since while chasing the younger years, he wants to show he matured, hoping that maybe that will bring Sasha back. That's also why he got the moustache - to show he is becoming more serious. Which fails miserably.

He seemed the most confident in his new Atlas CEO stage because he had to look like it. There was nobody else to help him at the time, so he tried his best to do what he had done - acted the plan out.

He still imagines his plans the same way he did in Tales - with fantasies.

so. briefly popping out of the void to tell a funny story.

I got stuck in a restarting error loop earlier this month with the Masters update and accidentally deleted my save data while trying to fix it. because I am dumb.

(I think I fixed the same issue once before by uninstalling and reinstalling the game. however. instead of doing that. I got confused and did something similar but very different. I cleared the storage. which, as you might know if you are smarter than I was in that moment, deletes your data.)

It was not connected to my nintendo account because I had apparently played like five minutes of it on a different phone in 2019 and linked that account to my nintendo account and never figured out how to unlink it to link the newer one I started earlier this year.

so I was gonna just go 'welp I guess I'll just stop playing Masters forever then!' but out of curiosity I booted up my 2019 account to use whatever gems I had there to pull for sygna ingo and emmet and... actually got both of them? on the first try??? I literally got three emmets in my first pull on that banner. like. holy shit. my luck has never been that good, before or since.

then i blasted through story mode to get enough gems to 5/5 both of them.

i do kind of miss having akari's samurott ceaseless edge through everything and i had like 60k gems saved up on my old account but i do have superawakened sygna submas on this account now and apparently that's enough to keep me playing the game.

14. I'm stuck between Kokichi's 4th freetime event because I find it absolutely hilarious how he predicts all of Shuichi's moves, and Ibuki's last freetime event because I truly felt seen through her words... It was a very touching moment that I think I won't ever forget; also Ibuki is pretty awesome

23. woah... what can I say, v3's chapter 1 is an absolute 10/10 from start to finish, and an incredible introduction to such a wonderful game! From the motive, the setting + buildup, the blackened and the victim, and also the REAL blackened.... What a crazy start! I would've normally answered v3's chapter 5 because it was genuinely one of the most stressful trials I had to endure, but I barely see chapter 1 getting the credit it deserves (also... I just love these two equally)

To this day it still sends me chills to my bones when we get to the protag switch on the trial, and I even start sobbing! Seriously after all this time and it still gets some tears out of me?? Not many cases gets me this emotional. It was also like such a bold move on the team for getting rid of the protagonist, and setting such an important message that carried all the way through till the end, and affected almost if not all the members of the cast! Kaede is such an amazing character seriously... And I think that's what v3 does best, making you feel so deeply for fictional characters that you truly get invested in the hardships they face

Also Rantaro was such a big enigma, I loved what they were setting up for him and it got me really intrigued as to find out more about him and his talent throughout the game, and when we got, later on, a segment of his video I was so hooked! He's such a mysterious character I can't help it but be drawn to him

Overall, rewatching this chapter for a second time truly hits different, knowing exactly what actually happened and seeing the countless of ways they could've avoided this situation can be a bit frustrating but I would personally not change anything as I enjoy the impact it had on the story

edit: I feel like I haven't properly answered the ask, as I've only touched the trial part of the chapter, but ch1's Daily Life was the real deal, as I was really invested in Kaede's will to work together with everyone, how little by little she formed almost an unbreakable bond with Shuichi (in such a short time at that) and the conflicts that came from her stubborness! Her rivalry with Rantaro, even if it was subtle, was really well handled, since they truly conveyed the Belief vs Distrust themes of v3, and even after their death that theme was thankfully explored through Kokichi and Kaito. I also like how ch1 and ch4 compliment each other as they don't shy away from tormenting these characters alongside the player, and how both blackeneds were almost impossible to imagine commit a crime such as murder. They knew exactly the right buttons to push to get you weeping on your seat

(Ahh.... I will probably talk about v3's chapter 5 on another, more elaborate, post, as I feel that if I start talking about it now this post is going to get reaaaaal long)

91. Dang it why does it always have to be one? There are so many good ones, I can't choose... So I will just link some down here ;)

Gravitational Attraction by whattheskyknows is without a debout one of my favourite oumota fics! And surprsignly enough, it's fluff. (I'm more into angsty fics haha) it's genuinely really funny and their romance is just so them! I would recomend it to anyone

Motive 5: Death Puzzles by lunarleonardo is a really good chapter 5 rewrite where it completely changes the course of the game (by adding this rather... special Motive, yk what to expect from the title alone),and it's also saiou, which I'm a big softie for. I'm pretty sure it was one of the first Danganronpa fanfictions I had read when I entered the fandom a couple of months back (?) It's filled with angst and the way lunarleonardo handled saiou's relationship made me feel deeply for these two. I would pay reaaally close attention to the warnings at the start of each chapter thoought, as it gets really bad at some points, but promise there's a happy ending!

I'd Trade My Life for Yours by grayimperia is definitely a must-read on the dr fandom (in my must humble opinion haha), like there's always this one fanfiction everyone has read or should read it within a fandom, just like with Amalgamate by DoctorHaifisch, and these two are definitely the v3 fanfictions! They're both wonderful pieces of fiction that delivered amazing new insights on the cast, and put together some really cool scenarios that are just as good as what canon gave us. I feel like I'm reading a script directly from a Danganronpa Game, because the characterization of each of the characters and their dialogues are on point, awesome stuff that I'm sure many have already read, but I couldn't not put them

finally (because this is getting really long, sorry) Reaching by kokichiouma is my personal favourite timeloop fic! I'm a big fan of the character exploration for Kokichi that the author made through this fic, and his relationship with Shuichi is just *cheffs kiss*, very high quiality fic! And a bit underrated too, it deserves so much more praise

LOL HAVE YOU MET ME? I have something of a reputation... But if I had to pick, I'd say Number Ten and I'll Be Seeing You rank as my top angstiest endings for A & B Bridgerton respectively.

Hmmm. Young At Heart was for sure the fluffiest thing I've ever written. But I have a soft spot for the tooth-rotting sweetness of Two Lines and A Special Day.

Fortunately no. I haven't encountered any negativity for my fics yet. The Bridgerton fan community has been lovely.

I do, but I don't feel that it's my strong suit. It started just for Benophie but I have branched into x Reader. I don't think I'm great at it. I prefer to write whump and angst.

No, no real crossovers. I enjoy AUs that dip into vampire/zombie/apocalypse territory though. My friend suggested I combine my fixations and have the Bridgertons discover a portal to Middle Earth in their hedgerow 😅 Let the madness begin...

Benophie is my OTP, obvi.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

WOOF. I have 17 WIPs. I'd say the most at risk is a concept for Anthony on each of his siblings' wedding days. I have to read all the Bridgerton novels to finish this one, and that's a tall ask.

I think I'm aight at conveying emotion. Feels are kinda my game - good and bad.

Writing TOO much about feelings 😜 I skew verbose and can get wordy as fuck because I'm trying so hard to paint a very precise picture. I always have to remind myself to reel it in so readers aren't bogged down.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I have sprinkled some French for Benophie and Tamil for Kanthony into my stories. Just little phrases that I always research thoroughly.

First ever? X-Men 😋 I was 12. The first film came out. I was a goner for Wolverine...

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

Guh, they are all like children to me. But my heart is drawn to my multichapter character stories. Let Me Be Your Anchor is the first Bridgerton fic I started writing and the only one I ever intended to. It's novel length and will be my greatest accomplishment. A Brother's Love was the first fic I actually finished and has the most soul in it IMO. Then I see Willow Bark as my most clever 'fix it' story - if the show could adopt my ideas on that one I think we'd all win 😉

• I love the Abrahamic Faiths and sometimes post about my experiences struggling in queer spaces predominantly ran by culturally christian white atheists who choose to say all organized faith is inherently bad and perpetuate the "queer vs. religion" issue.

• I went to a Japanese immersion school from the ages 5 through 11 and have been casually keeping up with the language since!

• I love classic country and folk rock. When I say I like country, I specifically mean the genre and general scene behind country that predates the 9/11 shift in music. I also (embarrassingly) know a shit ton of Beatles trivia. John Denver is my favorite music artist.

...and much more I am probably forgetting to list out! I am critical of all my interests, so please do not be presumptuous. Ultimately, I consider a lot of "Fandom DNI" things to be hypocritical and performative in the sense that it eliminates any nuance.

Simply put, I will just block you if you are someone who refuses to have any critical thinking skills...that being said, given how tumblrinas seem to be incapable of figuring out what that means, here is a brief rundown of what I that tends to encapsulate. LMAOOOOOO

No stupid discourse No creeps No "it's just fictional!" No whatever I deem to be genuinely sickening I know "DNI" pages are performative and areas for people to flaunt their basic morality but lately I have had to block so many people I feel as though I need to put a typical warning up so. You Know. Gestures Vaguely. For Genshin Fans specifically coming to my blog know I do not put up with any ship remotely creepy. I see a good portion of the "short" character model characters as children, and genuinely cannot "unsee" it. This is not something to argue in my asks about. Just leave me alone, I do not participate in the fandom for a reason.

General Backstory (tw: abuse and neglect in second bullet)

Rawst was born (assigned female at birth) in Nimbasa, Unova to their father, Calhoun Webb, and their mother when they were only 21 weeks in gestation. Rawst would be in the hospital for a long time after their birth, having multiple scares and times when it looked like they passed away. Calhoun would be at his baby's side and would surprisingly be joined by a Mimikyu who seemed to wander into the hospital. The Mimikyu would follow them home once Rawst was cleared safe without constant hospital care.

Although Calhoun would take care of his children most of the time, his wife often would neglect their older sister, Pecha, and Rawst when he was working or on work trips (which he tried to keep seldom). The parents' marriage would end when Pecha and Rawst were left in a car alone on a sweltering summer's day when Pecha was 5 and Rawst was 3. Calhoun managed to get full custody of his children. After this, their grandparents became a bigger presence in their lives as they stepped up to help their dad raise them. All five would live in the same household for the rest of Rawst's childhood.

After their parent's divorce, Calhoun would take Pecha and Rawst on many of his work trips which involved lots of camping and bug hunting. Rawst was a quiet, spacey child who would often be caught staring at nothing. Unlike their father and sister, Rawst would attract ghost types instead of bugs around them.

Once the kids were reaching their teen years, their grandmother, Leppa, would press Calhoun to enroll his children in school instead of just traveling with them around the world. Naranja-Uva Academy, being one of the best schools and in their grandparent's home region of Paldea, was the one Leppa pushed for and Calhoun decided was best for his children. Their cousin, Aman, would also attend this school which helped them not be totally alone when they first started.

It was during his time at Naranja-Uva that Rawst would become more comfortable with themself and begin exploring their gender identity, until they felt that they are nonbinary. This choice was very supported by their family wholeheartedly.

They would finish schooling when they were 18, their track having been in humanities, and they was aimless for a small period of time. They mostly waited tables at their Tita's restaurant during this small wait time.

Rawst, in attempts to cover up the loneliness and other problems they face in life, started to play video games and watch horror movies more until one fateful day they decided to post on youtube. Their deadpan nature and funny commentary won a lot of subscribers until Rawst suddenly found themselves as one of the more famous Youtubers

Their youtube channel is still constantly growing subscribers. They've taken up streaming as well and also finds it enjoyable.

Extra

Possibly due to their unique birth and also having their Mimikyu, Annabelle, there at the hospital then (Also Annabelle possibly decided to stick Rawst's soul back into their body multiple times during this), Rawst seems to attract both ghost types and real ghosts. They have been able to see ghosts their entire lives, but keep this hidden. They haven't even told Pecha and usually live by a "pretend they're not there" rule because of a bad experience they had with a malevolent spirit when they were very young.

13 - What's a character or ship you haven't drawn yet but would like to some day?

So I actually have a goal of drawing every semi-important Temeraire character, which I have made pretty good progress of, but other than that I'd like to draw Arkady or Perscitia (main reason I still haven't drawn them is because I'm still not very confident at drawing dragons)

17 - What's a book, movie, or show you think Granby would like?

I think Granby would like Dragonheart <3 predictable ikik but I just think he would enjoy any media that portrays dragons well.
