I'm gonna sound very old person yells at cloud but I don't care, I feel like I need to say this. We all (well most of us) know that messaging Neil with any headcanons/theories/wishes/hopes/dreams to do with the show is a no-go because it could potentially compromise the story he wants to tell or ends up telling. And yes, he is a grown up who chooses what to respond to etc and I think it's wonderful he engages with fans and answers a lot of lovely and interesting questions about his process, writing and journey etc.

However, there is another reason not to send theories and ideas about how the show should go to the show creator in the hope of a response: it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter whether a theory is correct, or a speculation may or may not play out. That is why fandom exists.

Online fandom is where we all come together to yell and cry and throw around weird-ass ideas and theories and look at art and read fanfic and unite in our love of characters and a show. A huge part of being in fandom, is the way fandom theories become like an understood little bit of fanon lore that some people attach to, others disregard. But it doesn't matter. And part of the fun of fandom, is when a new season or a new episode of the show comes out, you have this collective catalogue of ideas and theories and headcanons and you get to yell and scream, "omg it happened1" or "lol that that thing was ever talked about" or "thank god that theory didn't come to pass".

Wanting to know now (not that we ever will) and not wanting to wait until the next season to find out the answers diminishes the fandom experience. I cannot stress enough how much we are in the absolute peak of the fandom experience right now. The between seasons time is the ultimate time to be a part of a fandom (as I'm sure many people are well aware), knowing there's another season coming energises everyone to create and connect and speculate and it's glorious! I know it feels like it'll be like this forever, but it won't. Next season is the last and yes, there will be a flurry and uptick of all the energy and excitement once again, and I absolutely believe Good Omens fandom will live on and remain active and thrumming. But there won't be theories and what ifs and hunting for clues for the next season, and over time it will dwindle a little and plateau and some people will fall into other fandoms, and while it will probably bubble away, there won't be the anticipation that sits with us now.

My point is, fandom is where we get to throw around ideas and flail and be ridiculous and also serious sometimes, but it's all for us. For the fans. Showing Neil theories or getting in a flap about a particular speculation and asking if x, y, or z might happen isn't just about putting the creator in an awkward spot, it takes away what fandom is about. Just let this time be ours. If you haven't been in fandom before, enjoy it! Don't be in a hurry to seek definitive answers or know things either way.

It doesn't matter if any or none or all of the things that float around end up being correct or incorrect. Fandom isn't about being right. It's about being a part of a community and being able to share ideas and it's about it being FUN.

So TL;DR Stop sending Neil fan ideas because that is for fandom, not for the creator.

okay i've been saying i'd make this post forever and it's uh. long. so i decided to split it up into four parts so i can get this first bit out and let it stop haunting me and so it's not 50 miles long.

disclaimer: i'm not definitively saying sir paul mccartney is queer. i mean i really firmly think he is but it's all just speculation. also, if he is, there's obviously a reason he's not out about it & he deserves to have his privacy respected. i just personally find the dominant narrative in the fandom & even in larger spaces that poor pining queer john was in love with tragically heterosexual paul completely unconvincing and neeeeeed to be insane for a minute here

and again this one COULD just be a lil homophobic joke but idk man his tone here is very different and the fact that he says he couldn't say that on air & john says he'll get in trouble is just. interesting. it's Interesting.

again, like the last one, this one is very... i think he was absolutely being homophobic here, but it's a very telling outburst. like he's yelling this harsh enough to make these girls cry.

6- Harry Harrison's "gorgeous tan"

moving onto this wild quote from many years from now by barry miles about george's older brother (bold mine):

7- gender neutral language

let's get into some interesting gender neutral language he uses. now, would this be Particularly compelling with a modern celebrity? not really. but most people his age really don't talk gender neutrally unless it's to be vague On Purpose. like this bit from many years from now, where before this he'd been using exclusively "girl" and "she/her" pronouns talking about hookups, it suddenly shifts to very purposefully vague (bold mine):

this infamous quote which i have a bit of a different take on that i'll expand on in a sec (bold mine)

a lot of people use this to point to him being oblivious, which i do get, but i want to focus more on the line "it is you dreaming, it is your mind it's all happening in". like he seems interested and fascinated by the revelations we have in our dreams- hardly repressed or scared.

note here though that francie is a notoriously unreliable source on paul. she hates him and honestly makes some pretty homophobic digs at him & others pretty frequently. so it is interesting that she denies he's gay, but says he might have gone that way. given how short of a time they were together and how weird their relationship was, i wouldn't really expect him to be open about that with her- still, she noticed something there too.

16- homosexual handbook

paul was mentioned in the homosexual handbook by angelo d'arcangelo in 1968 under a list of famous homosexuals. it's very tongue in cheek and says this "may just be wishful thinking on (my) part"

and obviously not proof as the book takes a very playful and unserious tone. he does provide this little disclaimer though, which i think is interesting:

Some of the men on this list are self-acknowledged homosexuals. Some are not. All of them are generally thought to be gay. However, as many family men and notorious womanizers appear on these pages, we must—rather than question their forays into either or both sexes—congratulate them on their obvious virility.

because once again like... WHERE are these rumors about paul being gay? because the rest of this list, as far as i can tell (ngl i did not do a deep read there) are men who have/had gay rumors about them or were gay. this comes up more in the john post as well, but i seriously need to know just how many rumors there were about him being gay.

17- "the female hordes"

The first ever "links meet" au I ever stumbled upon was the sweetest fic ever that I'm so sad I lost and haven't found again yet cause for the longest time that au was just 100% canon in my head lol and I still like it so much I want to find it again :( I remember it being actively updated back in 2014 when I was active in the zelda fandom (before my 10 year hiatus and me joining back again this year lol)

But basically the au played with the idea that hylia has like a special place in the afterlife for the hero's spirit, as compensation for their service to her and the 3 golden goddesses, so when a link dies the little afterlife space starts getting buildings or landmarks the link loved during life

So the au starts with ss!link chilling there alone, but he's able to see what his successors do from the afterlife! Then mc!link joins him when he dies and basically the little space starts getting bigger and bigger the more links die and join the little afterlife space

The only link who never joins because he is like THE hero's spirit is the first hero, and if I remember correctly ss!link tries the entire fic to meet him despite knowing it won't happen :(

Since it was during 2014 I remember the last link joining everyone was albw!link and I thought it was THE cutest cause the other links nicknamed him ALBY and like isn't that the cutest nickname ever

Thinking about how in the game when you marry Shane he doesn't take Jas with him

I wish she could live on the farm with you, but let’s actually look at that scenario and Marnie's place in it

Shane is Jas’ official caretaker, but with how his mental health and alcohol consume used to be he definitely wasn’t able to fully take care of her, I’m guessing Marnie did most of that. Like Shane DOES really care for her and did what he could, it just wasn’t enough when he got worse. Simultaneously he saw Marnie care for her the way he wished he could've and it just seemed so effortless (it wasn’t, she was just grieving differently). It made him feel like he could retreat from his parental role, have Marnie take it and stop himself from pulling Jas down with him, he didn’t want to be selfish and put her well-being at risk just to be the one playing parent.

Honestly, he was probably right in that decision, he couldn’t have fully cared for a child.

But it’s different now, he’s better now, he’s ready.

He starts spending more time with her again, no longer feeling like he’s a risk to her, no longer being so ashamed. He takes on tasks like making lunch and bringing her to bed more often.

He doesn’t even notice it until Jas, Marnie or you point it out, might write a scenario for that at some point but let’s move on for now

Anyway, he realizes he’s taken the role of a parent for her. And then you give him the mermaid pendant, and he’s so happy that everything is slowly working out.

When he comes home and tells Marnie she is quick to pull him into a tight hug, she’s so happy he’s managing to really turn his life around.

Jas is so so excited, asking when they'll move to the farm

Shane wants to have her come right with him, he's talked to you about it and you were quick to tell him you'd be happy to have her, but he realizes he should really talk to Marnie about that first.

So they kinda just redirect her question.

Later though they sit together and talk about the upcoming change of Shane's living situation.

At Shane’s declaration of wanting to take Jas right with him, Marnie is hesitant and gently suggests that might not be the best idea.

Shane believes it’s because Jas has become a daughter to her, something he actively pushed to happen by making her take all responsibility for the little girl (and for him too, actually), and he figures he doesn’t really have the right to take Jas from her after she has been the one taking care of her for so long.

Except that isn’t the reason at all. Marnie has never seen herself as Jas’ mom. She loves Jas a lot of course and she’ll surely miss her a lot once she moves, but she has never not seen Shane as the one to be Jas’ new parent.

She wants this for both Shane and Jas, but she’s just so worried. She’s seen Shane at his worst and all that has lead up to it, seen him almost get better but then fail again more often than she’d like to have.

She’s honestly more worried about Shane than Jas. What if Shane takes on too much responsibility at once? His new role as a husband, the changes that come with living on the farm, and then he'll also be fully responsible for Jas? She's worried he'll end up feeling overwhelmed and get worse again. And then if Jas sees it this time, oh gosh... (Okay, maybe it is about Jas)

Now bear with me it's about to get a little confusing

Shane doesn't know that's the reason, Marnie doesn't tell him outright to not upset him.

So when she brings up the hint of “are you sure? She can stay here some longer too” he thinks it's because of her relationship with Jas and he's just like “yeah y'know maybe that works” because he doesn't want to take Jas from her after making Marnie take care of her so long, however she thinks it's because he really does think it'd be too much at once.

So they're like “okay good talk” and go their ways and while Marnie is like “okay cool I'll help some more till he feels able to care for her fully” Shane is knocking on your door having half a breakdown like “I fucked up I'll never get to take on the role of her father”

On a side note, he went to the farm and not the saloon, and both of you have a brief moment of gratitude for the fact so let's take a second to appreciate him for that too

Alright, he has been appreciated

But yeah, I kinda hc their communication isn't great in general. It's not for lack of trying (not anymore, it used to be a factor when Shane wasn't doing well) or something causing arguments, it's more so a thing where the two talk and then think everything is fine when they in reality have talked past each other so hard.

It's usually silly, small stuff like chores or something and resolved with a quick clarification and doesn't cause issues – except this time it did.

Anyway, he's at your doorstep, kinda having a breakdown.

You let him in of course, get him some water, gently tell him to calm down and tell you what happened.

His explanation is not very coherent, consisting mainly of him repeating how he fucked up, it might very well spiral into a full on panic attack.

Shane's not usually someone to panic but this is about Jas, who is the most important thing in the world to him, not to forget the only way he knew how to cope is kind of gone.

After a while he manages to explain what's going on more clearly, how he so badly wants to care for Jas the way he should have from the start, but he can't because he made mistakes he can't fix, how Marnie has taken that role and is entirely reasonable in wanting to keep it.

Then he breaks down again.

You don't really know what to do, he's in a terrible state, and what can you say? If the situation was truly how Shane presented it (which you assumed of course) there wouldn't really be much you could do to help.

You end up calling his therapist, he's against the idea at first but caves at your pleading look.

He's put you in situations in which you had to try help him with no idea how to before, hell he's made you fear for his life with this kind of bullshit before! He doesn't want you to go through that again.

In the beginning you sit with him, help explain to his therapist what happened, let Shane lay his head on your chest while talking to her.

When after a while he is much calmer you go make his favorite dinner, waiting for him to finish the phone call.

They make an appointment for Saturday and Shane hangs up, wordlessly coming over to you and letting himself fall into your arms. You have dinner and go to bed, deciding it's better for him to stay with you tonight, and maybe also the next few day. You'll figure out how to go on about this on Saturday.

Meanwhile Marnie has no idea about all of this and tells Jas about the decision (she thinks) they made, how Shane will move to the farm but needs some time to “settle in” as she calls it, and then Jas can move there too later on.

She's bummed about not getting to come along right away but is generally okay with the idea, not much bothered.

This whole misunderstanding is only really revealed when Jas and Shane cross parts the next time. This could be several days later, or the next one which I'm gonna go with.

Unfortunately for Shane, Jas was already planned to come to the farm that day to “help” (aka pet your animals) so she shows up there in the morning and it's. A bit awkward. Not that she'd notice, though.

Inevitably the topic of Shane moving to the farm comes up. It's in bypassing, it doesn't really matter how, but it causes even more chaos.

She says something about how she'll miss him when he moves to the farm, which feels like a punch in the gut to him, cause he doesn't even know she just means in the short while till he gets her over there too.

He tries not to let it show in front of her, it's not her fault, so he tries to play over his reaction by saying something along the lines of “I'll miss you too, but you and Marnie can come visit. If the farmer and me start a family you can come over and-”

And like damn. Not the best thing he could've said in that situation.

Cause up until just know she thought she was coming after him like a month or something later!

Jas' eyes fill with tears and she has such a look of betrayal on her face Shane doesn't even finish his sentence.

“You don't want me here?”

And he's just like fuck lol

In retrospect he doesn't actually know what Marnie told Jas and how she explained the decision to her. Thinking about it she probably didn't exactly go “Hey actually Shane used to be a good for nothing alcoholic so I decided I'm your mom”

But wait, does Jas want to stay with him on the farm?

Because yeah wait!! He did not consider that and how she feels about this.

Meanwhile Jas is now also a victim of the miscommunication between Marnie and Shane (aren't we all?)

Before Shane can think of something to say she's bolting, running back home.

You - who watched the interaction happen - and Shane go after her, coming to the ranch to find Jas crying in her bed with Marnie sitting next to her and trying to coax her into explaining what happened. When she sees you she moves away from her, figuring you two must have a better idea of what's going on.

Shane takes Marnie's place and asks Jas why she's crying.

She looks up at him with a heartbreaking expression and says “You said you'll start a family, but what about me?” (not rlly like that but I suck at dialogue)

And Shane is like “Marnie is your family”

I love him but.... shut up, Shane!!

That blow was so hard both you and Marnie could feel it!

In his defense, he realizes that was dumb as fuck like immediately after.

“I mean... fuck, she's been a mom for you so long, way more than I ever was, I can't just take you away now”

And Marnie stiffens cause like that's the moment it starts dawning on her something didn't go quite right in their earlier communication. And then you notice her reaction and it starts dawning on you as well and you kinda just look at each other like “oh shit”.

Which Shane and Jas are completely unaware of.

“She's not my mom! I don't want her to by my mom”

And Jas is honestly really irritated by Shane's interpretation of their family dynamic because yeah Marnie has taken care of her a long time and she's really close to her of course but she still never saw her as something other than her aunt, just like Marnie always considered Jas her niece.

“Why don't you want to be my dad?”

It's sort of a breaking point for all four of you.

For Shane it feels like in a matter of seconds he's reliving every moment since the day Jas' parents died. They chose him as the one who'd take in Jas if something happened to them. They could've decided on Marnie, but they didn't. In that moment he realizes that maybe his fear of this parental role he really did want to take not being rightfully his was never about Marnie to begin with.

At the same time, Marnie and you decide to finally intervene. She gently pulls him towards the door, telling him they have to talk, meanwhile you sit with Jas to comfort her.

You let her climb into your lap and hug her, just holding her and waiting for Marnie and Shane to finish talking, until she speaks up again quietly

“Do you not want me on the farm?”

And you're of course immediately telling her you do!! You want her there, you consider her family and she goes “I think Shane doesn't” and like no he does!! He's just stupid!

Except you don't say that to her of course cause don't say that to her.

Meanwhile Marnie is torn between hugging Shane because man he's apparently spent years thinking he has no place as her parent and scolding him cause how the fuck did he spend years thinking he has no place as her parent.

It ends up being the scolding (gently though, she does get where he was coming from).

She explains everything to him, from exactly how she feels about Jas to what she meant when she suggested to have Jas stay with her.

“You're her father now. Her parents chose for you to be and she did too. You're her dad, and nothing you or I do can change that”

And it's wild because he realizes he has always refused those titles. He always talked about his parental role or his role as a father, yeah, but he's never dared call himself her dad. But he is, isn't he?

They have a long talk and Shane learns his place in the family was never a question, while Marnie has her anxiety over Shane taking on too much at once calmed.

They settle on Jas staying at the ranch on weekdays and the farm on weekends for the first month, so he can settle and you can get used to having a child around all the time. After that she'll move to the farm entirely, with the promise to have her stay at Marnie's a bit if Shane ever feels like it's too much for him.

He goes back to Jas' room to explain everything to her and tell her she'll of course come along to his new life.

And when he opens then door he sees you sit with Jas – with his daughter - in your arms, petting her hair comfortingly and he's like yeah.

That's his family.

KBY, another japanese artist I look up to immensely and someone who holds a very special place to me given their art was some of the first I actively searched for (growing up I had little to no access to the internet, so searching for specific artists was a luxury I couldn't afford often)

The "Hello world" group and AZone doujins, I'm not usually one for doujins since the writing is most often subpar at best, but anything by Hello world group is really freaking good, I highly recommend you read at least one story by them (they are all sfw, dw). If you're a sailor moon fan and haven't read AZone.. what are you doing? It's great.

The 'sailor business' podcast is the reason I posted my first piece of fanart ever online. If you wanna hear some dudes talking about the 90s anime and having some laughs while doing it then check them out.

I took an interest in The Bad Batch around the tailend of S2. It's not news to Tumblr that I almost slept on this show. And I cannot thank Caleb Dume enough for being the reason why I pressed the play button for this one. While I haven't been around for most of its active run, and I wish I had been, the last year has been among the best months of my life.

This show challenged my morals, and taught me lessons that I will forever take with me.

Tech taught me to embrace and take pride in who I am. I now think that I am not something that needs to be cured. I needed to be understood and accepted. He taught me that we deserved to be loved and be allowed to live the way we want to (as long as we are not causing harm to ourselves or to others).

Hunter taught me that at the end of the day, we're all still humans. We make mistakes. We fail. But we can learn from them, and we can strive to be better. And I should also take care of my hair bec I cannot accept that a man in a galactic war have better hair than me (Okay, did you honestly think I'm gonna be serious this entire essay?)

Crosshair taught me that at the end of the day, we really are still humans. Sometimes, we make choices that not everyone will understand or agree to. Sometimes, we don't even understand our own choices. But we can learn from them, and we can strive to be better. And that I should also go to therapy bec istg my hand shakes like hell I always need to rely on a pen stabilizer when doing my artworks.

Wrecker taught me that in this world where we can be anything, always choose to be kind. He is a great man who would always be there for everyone, and I hope that one day, I can be that person too. He is afraid of heights, but he climbs and go on high places anyway. Like him, I should also start conquering my fears. Dear Wrecker, I did try conquering my fear of heights last March 9 but I can't. I will try again.

Echo taught me to always fight for the greater good. Almost two years ago, me and a group of people campaigned for a great tomorrow. With pink flags and pink balloons, we worked on our little thing I like to call our rebellion. Sadly, we lost. At times, I am thinking of just giving up bec that's democracy and I cannot go against the people's decision, but characters like Echo and the rest of Rogue One taught me that nothing should ever stop me for fighting for the people's rights and that my love for my fellow citizens should always come first before hatred.

And lastly, Omega taught me to be curious, or more likely to not be ashamed for being curious. Learn about the world. Learn about lots of things. We never know when we need it. While I could say be good at strategy and win 30 grand on card games, nahhh, I'm not that smart.

I also learned to reevalutate myself as an artist. This show taught me integrity. I had ranted about this lately but these characters challenged me in terms of art. I knew that the creators aren't best at proper representation. While I could draw them as they are in the show, I choose to stand for what is right, and represent them as properly as my skills could. In the more technical side, I became good at drawing armors. And this little Actors AU Draw Series taught me to be responsible; I tried my very best to create and post them on time. This increased my productivity.

But enough about me.

There's something I realized two nights ago; we, the fandom, are Bad Batchers ourselves. We can consider ourselves a family, but not one of us is the same and we're all interesting, and capable in our own unique ways. We can have our own opinion and stand about something and still coexist. Like our favorite charactera, we embrace and celebrate our differences.

This show may end. No more Bad Batch Eves, no more cryptic tweets that cause us to hyperventilate, no more Bad Batch Wednesdays but it will live on, through us.

I know there will be a day where we decrease in number, one by one, little by little, but still, the show will live on through our actions, our opinions, our choices we make after May 1, 2024 because I know that all of us were changed in some ways by these characters and this show.

To the crew, your cryptic tweets caused me sleepless nights, but thank you so, so much. It is through your hardwork that we had this wonderful show. Thank you for making every second of the past year so worthwhile and enjoyable for me and for everyone.

However this show will end, whether happy or sad, I am glad it happened. However short my time was with them, I am happy I had been here. However short my time with everyone in the fandom was or if some of you leave one day, still, thank you so much for being part of my life; I am so happy I met all of you.

To Clone Force 99, thank you. I've never loved anything like this before. May the Force be with you.

1 Year on Tumblr - Reflections

As I recently realized, a little over a year has passed since I joined Tumblr and created this blog🥳 And while I haven't written a personal post in a while, tonight I can't help but reflect a bit on my experience with it so far, and how I want to proceed from here. Blame it on the good old late night thoughts, hehe.

Last year and at the beginning of this year, this website really did wonders for my mental health, especially in terms of curing my loneliness. I had so many great moments and experiences with my community, and I truly felt like I belonged in it. I'd even go as far as to say that it has changed me for the better. I met some of the best people I know on here, and made amazing friends. I'll forever be grateful for this part especially. My closest friends, even if I only know them online, really mean the world to me. I also started sharing my fanart on here and it has certainly found its audience, which is something I'm also very thankful for and proud of.

However, I guess it would have been too good to be true if things had stayed so perfect. The past few months have been more of a challenge for sure. The same space that once helped me so much has been doing quite the opposite: adding to my stress and anxiety, with real effects on my mind, body and life. I created this blog for fun, and I've certainly had some, don't get me wrong. I really do enjoy making fanart, too. Not everything about being more of an active member of a fandom has been fun and games, though. Not everything about the community itself, really. Admittedly I feel a little out of place here now, and a little burned out. There have been ups and downs, but overall I'd say I haven't been doing so well a concerning amount of time lately.

Therefore, something needs to change. I don't see myself stopping using this website altogether. I still want to engage with some of the fan content and interact with people a little bit, especially my friends. And of course, I definitely want to keep posting art on here, which includes my comic (until it's finished!🫡). But I feel like I need some restrictions: the amount of content and people I interact with, particularly how much of my emotional energy I give them. Maybe filtering some more tags will help as well, I suppose I have to experiment and see.

How exactly I'll go about all this is something I'm going to be figuring out in the near future. Maybe the change won't even be that noticeable to anyone, especially at first, but I still thought I'd give you all a heads up just in case🙂

Nevertheless, happy (belated) 1 year Tumblrversary to me! I can only hope that the rest of this year will be kinder to me🙏

Okay, so I'm listing my all-time favorites below (mostly on FFN since it's been YEARS since I've been plugged into this fandom).

As for my stuff *buries head* this ridiculous ass fic that I wrote when I was FOURTEEN is my main claim to fame (it's trash but also still kinda slaps?). BUT I'VE BEEN WORKING ON A TON OF NEW STUFF. I have six fics coming out this month through the @romione-trope-fest (btw the best active Romione writers are participating in that fest, so you should definitely follow it if you haven't been already! Here's the AO3 collection for the fest.).

ALSO I saw that you are a Renaissance fan. I have one that's 50% done called "Virgo's Groove" (EDIT: it's here!) and it takes place in the seventh book when Lupin announces Teddy's birth. I can share a snippet tomorrow if you'd like 🙂

Okay enough self promo lol. On to my recs!

Seven Simple Years by HalfASlug (FFN): Best Romione missing moments series ever. I think HalfASlug has the best Ron voice. Everything she's ever written for Romione is worth reading.

Moments by Armaysha (FFN): Another missing moments (I'm a sucker for those) that I feel kind of mixed about, even though it's still one of my favs. The writer has a different take on Romione than most of the fandom. It generally works IMO, but some of the choices she made I really didn't understand. But what she did well, she did really, really well.

I Must Not Tell Lies by TMBlue (FFN): I think this is the best one-shot of Romione's first fuck. TMBlue is GREAT at writing Ron and she's like the queen of Romione smut.

Six Foot of Ginger Idiot by Pinky Brown (FFN): This classic is HBP from Ron's perspective. Pinky Brown is another iconic Ron writer. You can't go wrong with anything she's written, but Biscuits (her missing moments series starting in Book 1) starts dragging in the last few chapters IMO.

Australia by MsBinns (FFN): Post-war series, arguably the greatest Romione fic of all time. To be totally honest, I didn't finish it because it does kind of drag. But I'm always meaning to get back into it. Just know that it's heavy.

Love Me Forever by Aloemilk (AO3/FFN): I JUST read this and I can't stop thinking about it. It's a post-war series that has a great mix of angst, trauma, and fluff (lighter than Australia). The slow burn from Romione's first kiss to a full-fledged adult relationship is perfect and the smut is SO GOOD. Reminds me of the time I stumbled upon porn that made me ugly cry (in a good way?)

Not single fics but thesecondself and realmer06 (both on FFN, although realmer06's next gen stuff is also on AO3) are my favorite one-shot writers.

i am sure everyone has gotten the news, so i wont go too in details here. However, Sparklecare has been outed as being full of incest - more specifically the CometCare AU - and i cannot just say nothing and support that

I know kc is a survivor of those things, and needing to exteriorize i can understand. but hiding it? hiding extreme-lenghs incestuous relationships in the root of a webcomic you allowed minors to read??? (for a year and a half for cc, over 8 for sch)?? while ACTIVELY lying to your fanbase about being grossed out by it?? I am so i so unbelievably upset by the fact my biggest hyperfixation of over two years now was just filled to the brim with incest in the backstage by an undercover proshipper. i was never into cc like i was into Sch (even though i really did like it at first, up until the WWW arc), but some of the characters with the most incest to their names were my faves and now I can't even lay my eyes on sly without having goosebumps (- and haven't been able to for around a month.)

Kittycorn, you built a community of traumatized individuals. you comics were supposed to be emotional outlets where learning how to get out and deal with trauma healthily is the main subject. You have a fandom of pretty young people (14-21 for the most part), which are not only vulnerable due to their ages but also due to the traumatic experiences they may have gone through for sparklecare to resonate with them, and be a comfort to them. You betrayed us. you betrayed all of us. How did you think there was any way this was going to end well?? genuinely. I've seen three people threaten to harm or end themselves in the past 12hours, so please tell me how did you look at your community full of vulnerable low-mentalhealth people, mostly children, who relied on the "comfort" stories you had to tell to get over their traumatic experiences and went "yup. let's fetishize and encourage half my fanbase's traumas in the backstage!"

Overall, as much as i despise kittycorn now and am filled to the gut with rage thinking about all of this, i in all honesty doubt i will stop posting about sparklecare entierely. this hyperfixation is a too much important chunk of my identity now, i am not exaggerating when i say it would take years to undo it's effects on me. i guess this will be one of those msi/omori/okegom situations where the fandom enjoys the final product on their own away from the creator and they all secretly want them off the internet and in therapy forever. Plus its not like i interacted with the main tag a lot anyway. if you don't want to keep on posting about this comic because you feel betrayed, thats fine! best of luck on your next journey <3 if you still want to stay, hell yeah, this is our comic now! ill see y'all over at #sperklacera (damn that offbrand tag has never come more handy lmao) we fans are the only thing we have left for each other, and you guys deserve art of your faves that wasn't made by someone that secretly drools on 70's parent x 10yo child relationships. Top writing tip for others?: nothing that better writers haven't said before me 💀 most of all, and i do really think it goes above anything else even though the other stuff is important too, is just write. doesn't matter how bad you think it is, but you won't get anywhere staring at a blank page or only ever Thinking about all the stories in your head. in my opinion lol

a lil update

so ~ just a quick writing update. well, as "quick" as i ever am about anything, two tiny things:

a couple of people have requested/asked/encouraged me to write other headcanons for all the rockets à la my some questionable headcanons post [NSFW]. as of right now, i do intend to fill these requests, but they take a surprising amount of brainpower (at least for me) and time, so please be patient!

that said ~ and this might not be exciting to anyone but me ~ but i am finally writing the finale to Domestic Scenes in Space Travel ~ the series starting with my very very first rocket x reader fic The very Boring Adventures of Space Pilot & Sweatshirt Girl. (also actually my first time ever writing a "reader" fic.... look i'm an old baba yaga and it was not a thing when i was last active in fandom).

it'll hopefully come out almost around the two year anniversary of the original. i've been wanting to write it forever but i didn't know how and frankly i think the "questionable headcanons" post unlocked something lol. but fellow writers and friends, this is what i mean when i say not to force yourself to finish something. i'm pretty sure that what i'm writing now is going to make us all happier (at least, i hope so) than anything i could've forced myself to come up with a year and a half ago. i'll probably share a little sneak peak later this week or early next, and will reshare the original series as we lead up to just remind anyone who's interested that they may want to reacquaint themselves with the og material. there will be a lot of references lol

similarly, i'm planning a blackmail material epilogue/"sequel" for next october and it's gonna be fuckin raunchy my dudes.

anyway i really hope you enjoy everything coming up this summer and i hope i can keep the energy up! the end of spring semester is often a really difficult time for my students and i'm still dealing with family issues, so everything is kind of unpredictable ~ but right now, i have a lot of creative energy and i hope i can share it with you in ways that you enjoy ♡♡♡

Based on those anons they didn’t necessarily say why Elucien can’t or won’t be next. I am not any of those anons by the way I love Elucien, so I get what you’re saying. They’re just saying it would definitely be something to be sad about if Gwyn and Azriel interactin a meaningful way with Nyx before Elain does. And Elain and Feyre aren’t close just because they live together. Feyre herself said in her bonus chapter that Elain is a “pleasant companion” and not someone she would turn to for advice when she has a problem. Being closer doesn’t mean much if they started from -10.

And please can you stop antagonizing Gwynriel? We’re already in the trenches and every few days or weeks, you subtly take a jab at Nesta or Azriel or some other character just to make Elain seem better. It doesn’t make Elain more likable, trust me. It’s okay if she’s underdeveloped in some people’s opinion, so many people in the fandom think that, but that doesn’t mean Gwynriels are actively trying to badmouth Elain when they say it.

We and Gwynriels already have E/riels to be annoyed about. I’m sorry you get these anons, but you keep making me nervous when you make posts like that. Ones that make it seem like Gwynriels can’t be as important as Elain and Elucien. Or when you comment on other people’s posts when they say Elain is less developed, just to argue that that’s not the case in your opinion.

Let’s not do this. You don’t even need to answer this. I just feel like there’s too much negativity in this shipwar and I can’t handle it if Elucien and Gwynriel are also butting heads.

Why would any Gwynriel have issues with my clearly Elucien post when there were no Gwynriel tags to be found? If it is an Elucien post, I don't need to make sure to cater to the Gwynriel ship. I don't NEED to make Gwyn and Az seem as important as Elucien when it comes to my own thoughts. Thoughts that had nothing to do with my claiming something as fact and that it has to happen for that reason, but my own feelings on what would make me sad though I admitted Sarah probably wouldn't even focus on it when writing what she wants to write.

The times I've commented on other posts is when they literally tag Elain and Elucien while claiming she's not developed so she's not ready for a book. Do you see the difference? That's forcing Elucien's to see a pretty anti take yet you would flip your shit if any Elucien said they didn't feel Gwyn was developed enough and we tagged it Gwyn.

Also, in case you haven't noticed, Sarah has been writing these books with a huge part of the plot showing the sisters relationship being healed. Which we saw with Nesta's book when it came to Feyre and which we'll see when Elain has her book. Feyre and Elain might never be best friends, nor will Nesta and Elain but they will ALWAYS be sisters and that means something. Az is more Nesta's friend than Feyre's and Gwyn doesn't even know Feyre so what's your point?

Honestly, it is HYSTERICAL that I'm writing posts on my blog, using correct tags and now being harassed by whoever the hell is sending these anons yet I'm supposedly the one antagonizing Gwynriels 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Some Gwynriels (not all) have been throwing jabs at Elucien's because of Elain since forever, it's weird how those same people can't handle a fully Elucien post that merely said "I'd like to read about Elains POV before Gwyn and Az's because of XYZ though I realize that's not necessarily how Sarah thinks." If that's too much for your hypocritical sensibilities, I can send you directions for the block button.
