Maybe it’s about fellow firemen many years before him, and he’s loved learning about safety and on-scene first aid since he was a kid. (His IQ isn’t exceptionally high, he tried his absolute best in school but couldn’t quite grasp everything at once)

(Oh! And maybe Kirishima has lots of knowledge about different fires and what the causes could be, plus how to treat them)

Shirakumo, Aizawa, and Mic had received Kirishima’s diagnoses when he was very young, and since Mic is deaf, Kiri signed for a good 5-6 years of his life.

There wasn’t anything that outright triggered Kirishima to use his voice, but his parents would say that he asked Shinsou (who’s the first person he talked to verbally) if he knew where the cookies were in the cabinet.

Hello....If you don't mind me asking, can I ask your top favorite fics that you've written (feel free how much that you want to list)? Why they're special to you? Is there a specific inspiration when you wrote them? Thanks....

this is such a delicious question ty for asking - i have a series made on ao3 here where i list all my 'recommendations' which is basically just the fics i enjoyed writing the most, or that i think stand on their own really well, besides the obvious fics that did really well (tnahp and president of krbk club).

reasons why i like those recommended fics specifically:

Reflex - the dialogue in this one just flowed out so easy when i was writing it. think i actually got possessed by the seijoh seniors here, they're so funny and i don't even think i can take credit for it, i legit think they possessed me to write 'a day in their life' fic

skin hunger - also think klance possessed me here, they're so funny and stupid in this i genuinely forget i wrote this and laugh at my own writing it's actually so egotistical 😅

katabasis - written when i was taking a greek mythology course and i got obsessed with the theme of katabasis 'journey to the underworld to retrieve what you lost' and also i was itching to write a proper angst kl death fic. really exercised my writing education here because for once i wasn't relying on surface-level jokes and was really trying to make it hurt. dunno if it succeeded but i had fun nevertheless!

tell me again, do you love me? - main reason why i love this fic is because of lance. he's so solid and grown in this fic, the way i always wanted him to evolve into, in the actual show. i love that i got to write a lance that was in love with keith, with his job, that would die for his team, and was just casual (if not slightly annoyed) by it all.

i can be needy (way too damn needy) - i just think bakugou deserves to relax and i think kirishima would be proud to be reliable enough to be a grounding rod/hero for the one gunning to be the number 1 hero

disarm me - i just think bakugou deserves to learn how to love and i think kirishima would combust to receive love from someone who's entire thing is Laser Focus Determination.

(jokes asides, i adore #5 and #6 for the exercise it gave me in trying to depict bakugou's complex emotions with inferiority, longing, desperation, and commitment, through his interactions with the people around him and specifically with kirishima)

7. make me your hero (surrender your crown) - this fic came out of left field. it's a video game fic, and so incredibly Not Serious. i was just getting tired of the harem!traveler fics and just wanted one where they were badass and frankly unnerving, instead. it's unlikely i'll finish it though - but it was super fun to write video game mechanics

Oooh... I don't know that I write angsty endings. Usually it's angst all the way till the end. Maybe Interlude: The Senses of You as although there's comfort at the end there's also lots of crying? I think overall it's my most angsty fic as well

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Hmmm... most of them have happy endings so idk... maybe Strategies for Play bc Kuroo's "masterplan" worked and it ends post great sex with everyone cuddling in bed being super cute?

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Nope, not ever received hate on my fics but I have received hate about my fics on here (the Astarion one)

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Most of what I write tends to be smut lmao. And I guess all kinds but usually with some kind of bdsm/kink dynamics to them? 4 of my published fics are smut (cater to you, he was made to be broken, strategies for play, and the miya atsumu humilation show), and an additional 1 has some sexual content in it (just watch me). My more "risque" content is currently languishing in my wips waiting to be finished (yeah i'm looking at you inumaki/itadori/sukuna fic)

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Yes, but none of them have been published yet LMAO. I can't tell you about one of them that'll be published soon for the They Were Roommates big bang, but I did/do have a bluelock/D&D cross over that's probably the "craziest" one (and also SO much fun to plan). Deep in my wips I also have a BokuAka Greek Mythology AU and sketches for a Haikyuu/Dirty Dancing AU

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Hope not!

12. There was no question 12 so I'll make one up myself: What's the longest you've ever spent working on one fic? And the shortest?

LMAO. I love this because who made this one up? idk! If we're going by published fics then The Miya Atsumu Humiliation Show took me from May to October 2023 (5 months), and I've been working on my TWRRMs bang fic since May (currently 6 months). I've also been planning/writing Fire On the Horizon since Jan 2023!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I've co-created a fic, as in coming up with the idea with another person, and I've also co-created in the sense of working with beta readers for bang fics. I've not co-written anything yet though, but I would love to!

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

Nooo... what a cruel question. I'll give you my top 5 bc I simply cannot choose: krbk (kirishima/bakugou), stsg (gojo/geto), skts (sakusa/atsumu), bkak (bokuto/akaashi), bokuroo (bokuto/kuroo)

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

gods. So many of them tbh... I might one day muster the will to finish he was made to be broken. I want to finish the kunichi (kunigami/raichi) one but idk if I will ever get round to it. And the bllk/D&D one would take a lot of work, but maybe if/when I get back into bllk that'd help

16. What are your writing strengths?

I always struggle with this question bc I have really bad writing insecurities but recently I've been able to conclude that I think I'm reasonably good at comedic writing (people tend to find my fics quite funny), emotive writing (I make people cry/feel Emotions, even if said people don't usually when reading fics), and descriptive writing (I get lots of compliments that people can visualise exactly what I've described)

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

idk if it's a "true" weakness but I'm always paranoid that my dialogue is weak as balls. I also don't have much experience with writing long fic, and thus also character + plot development, but this is something I wanna work on. Oh, the biggest one is probs confidence in myself though!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I think it sounds like a cool idea if it works within the context!

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Hahaha so technically I think the first fandom I ever wrote for was Spyro the Dragon when I was like... 6 or 7. On Ao3 though it was Harry Potter in 2014. When I returned to writing in 2022, the first one was My Hero Academia

20. Favourite fic you've written?

Oooooooooh. I think my favourite is Strategies for Play. I adored writing it and it was the easiest one I've ever written. Plus writing Bokuto/Akaashi/Kuroo/Iwaizumi dynamics was *chefs kiss*. Otherwise, the [redacted] TWRMMs bang fic I'm writing at the moment is one I've had lots of fun with and am excited to share (very, very soon!) Kirishima has had a crush on Bakugou since their first year at U.A. Sure he was hot headed and would speak without thinking but Kirishima admired him for his passion.

Their friends had constantly teased him about his crush but also tried to get him to admit his feelings.

Kirishima just could never find a time that felt right. He always chickened out at the last minute, he couldn't risk losing his best friend.

Even when they move into a little apartment together after school he reminds himself his friendship is too important to risk.

As long as they're together in some way Kirishima can be happy with that.

That's what he has always told himself.

He will keep his feelings buried.

He knew Bakugou didn't care about things like having much of a social life or dating. He never dated in school and he would turn down anyone that offered.

Hell Kirishima had been the only person Bakugou had ever let in close and he was happy with that, or so he thought.

It all happened over drinks one night, Kirishima had a rough day on patrol and wanted to blow off steam.

"Hey Bakubro wanna get drinks after work?"

"How many times have I told you to stop calling me that Shitty Hair?!"

"I'll stop when you stop calling me Shitty Hair" Bakugou just rolled his eyes as Kirishima laughed at his friend's feigned annoyance.

"Tch, whatever. I just have to finish some paperwork then we can go" Bakugou said walking towards his desk.

"Alright bro! Meet me in the lobby when youre ready"

Kirishima headed towards the lockers to shower and change.

They got to the bar near the agency around 10 and thankfully it was mostly empty. They were able to snag a table in the back corner hidden from the rest of the bar.

Sometimes it was nice to just relax without being recognized.

They drank and ate and caught eachother up on their days. Nothing particularly exciting had happened so the topic wandered to their friends.

"Oh hey I talked to Mina earlier today," Kirishima said before take a swig of beer.

"Oh yea, how's pinky doing?"

"Great! Sero finally proposed to her"

"Fucking finally. Soy sauce has been following her around like a love struck puppy since we were in school"

Kirishima laughs to cover up how awkward he feels in the moment.

He's been doing the same thing to Bakugou if he's being honest with himself.

"I'm happy for them, they can't wait to start a family" Kirishima looked out at the small crowd on the dance floor.

He wanted a family of his own one day, the only problem was he always pictured that family with Bakugou.

"That's stupid" Bakugou interrupts his thoughts.

"W-what?"

"Having a family as a hero...its stupid. It's just something to drag you down."

Ouch.... "Whay do you mean dude? Don't you want a family someday?"

"I don't see the point. I want to be the number one hero and /nothing/ will stop me. I don't have time for dating or families Kirishima. I won't stop until I reach my goal."

Kirishima knew that's how Bakugou felt, he had been saying the same thing since they were 15. Why is he shocked he hasn't changed his mind?

Why did just hearing him say those words out loud feel like a knife to the gut?

Kirishima must have let his emotions show on his face because Bakugou stopped mid drink, "Do you want a family Shitty Hair?"

The question pulled Kirishima out of his spiral and he cleared his throat and downed the rest of his beer before answering.

"I would like one someday. I...I want someone to want to spend their life with me. Don't get me wrong I love being a hero and I wouldn't change my career...it's just, just sometimes I wish I could have more of a social life," he stopped picking the label on his bottle to look up, "Go on dates..."

"Nothing is stopping you Kirishima, you don't have to hang around with me all the time. Go on dates if you want"

Suddenly it's too hot in here, his chest feels tight, and his guts feel like their twisting around too much and he's going to lose his dinner.

Kirishima always knew his crush of Bakugou was silly, that nothing would come out of it but this conversation hurt way more than it should have. Why did it feel like he had just been dumped.

i love writing about mutual pining slow burn process of getting together but i have NEVER WRITTEN ONE IN MY LIFE so i hope to change that in 2021

in 2020 i discovered??? humour??? so i enjoy writing about that and when people tell me i’ve succeeded in making them laugh it’s all 😳😳😳 for me

hardest fic to write but also most proud of:

to write you a song was a fic i struggled with from all of april to june which is very long?? to me??? considering i usually sit down and write things in one seating. fully fleshed ideas don’t usually take me thaaaaaat long to crunch out, but for some reason i struggled bad with this bc I really didn’t know where i was going w it lol

not a general thing and might just apply tome, but i tend to write in very convoluted ways and squish a lot in my sentences, or add to many unnecessary commas, so i received advice recently about being more mindful of the pacing and it’s helped me a lot!

Well I know not many people who follow me here are into bnha, but writing this bnha fic has taken over my life, so enjoy a snippet from my untitled krbk adoption fic where krbk end up adopting a little girl that Bakugou saved/didn’t have any family left?? this is before they make the decision and right after said incident (follow me @sunshineijirou for more bnha content lol)

“Koharu-chan, you have visitors,” Matsuda called. The girl looked up and smiled seeing Katsuki. 

“Hey, Koharu,” Katsuki smiled softly as he stepped forward to greet her. 

“Kats!” Koharu exclaimed, hurrying towards him and wrapped her arms around his leg. “You came back.” 

“I told you I would,” Katsuki chuckled. Koharu spotted Eijirou and shied away from him, hiding behind Katsuki. 

“Hey you’re okay,” Katsuki promised. “Eijirou was there when I saved you too, yeah?” Katsuki kneeled down. He reached around her and picked her up, resting her on his hip. 

“Hi Koharu,” Eijirou said softly. “It’s okay, I’m a friend of Katsuki’s.”

“Shut up, Ei.” Bakugou rolled his eyes before turning to Koharu. “He’s not just a friend, he’s the love of my life.” 

“Dude, is that really what’s important right now?” Eijirou snorted. Koharu giggled to herself. 

“Well, I’m certainly not gonna lie to her,” Katsuki argued. “I mean of course you’re a friend but you’re not just a friend.” 

“Kats! I have more drawings for you!” Koharu interrupted them. 

“What? Okay, show me,” Katsuki let her down and she guided them both over to the table she was working. They both kneeled at the table as she began to talk Katsuki through her latest masterpieces. Once she had finished, she got out a new sheet of paper and handed it to Katsuki and then found another sheet to hand to Eijirou.

“You want us to draw?” Eijirou asked as he took the paper from Koharu. She nodded. 

“I’m not nearly as good as you are, though,” Katsuki told Koharu, chuckling to himself as he picked the right shade of orange from the crayons spread out on the table in front of him. 

“I have no artistic skill whatsoever,” Eijirou added, reaching for a red crayon. Katsuki snorted at Eijirou obvious choice in color. After coloring for a while Katsuki looked over to see what Eijirou was drawing.

“Dude, what is that?” Katsuki laughed

“Crimson Riot, of course!” Eijirou replied. Katsuki squinted at the drawing, trying to find the discernable features on the hero his boyfriend admired the most. “What did you draw?” Eijirou asked. 

“Me, blowing up some villains,” Katsuki grinned. “What do you think, Koharu?” He held the paper up for her to see with a proud smile.

“I like it! It could use more explosions here,” Koharu reached over Katsuki to draw on top of his drawing. Katsuki shifted and reached over to pull Koharu into his lap, barely breaking her concentration on her drawing. Eijirou looked over at them and smiled as Katsuki pointed out areas that needed more explosions and Koharu continued to add her scribbles to the pictures. 

Eventually, one of the caretakers came over and informed them that it was time for dinner and to wrap up their play time. 

“We should probably head out,” Katsuki sighed as Koharu began working on another drawing. 

“No, you should stay!” Koharu exclaimed “We’re not done drawing.” 

“Sorry, little dude,” Eijirou apologized. “We gotta get out of here.” 

“We’ll come visit again soon, okay?” Katsuki promised. 

“Okay,” Koharu nodded. She handed Katsuki his drawing he had done. 

“No, this one's for you. You drew me a picture last time. This time I drew you a picture, okay?” Katsuki told her. 

“Okay!” Koharu beamed, holding onto the piece of paper. “I’ll see you next time Katsuki!” Koharu smiled up at him. Katsuki smiled softly. 

“Are you gonna say goodbye to Eijirou?” Katsuki asked. 

“Mhm,” Koharu hummed. “Bye, Eijirou-san!” 

“It was really nice to meet you, Koharu,” Eijirou smiled in return.

And I don’t think I can make it a clean 10, actually? krbk is obviously at the top right now, and shoritsu is holding my attention a bunch at the moment too! then there’s yulma and laven from dgm, gojyo/hakkai from saiyuki, tokito/kubota from wild adapter... black star/kid from soul eater is def very up high on my list too, and kurofay and syaosaku from tsubasa reservoir chronicles too! doumeki and watanuki from xxxholic hold a very special place in my heart too, really. I have a lot of ships from katekyo hitman reborn but I like all of them as I would like a fave, so none I can give you to make into a top ten list? I’d be able to make a top thirty best ships out of only khr ships hahaha and in the same vein I have a bunch of ships from one piece, but in this case more than shipping it I’m just overly invested in their canon relationships and I don’t much care for fandom content for them..... though, I never say no to some good zolu or lawlu haha 

well, either way I am and I have been into a lot of anime and manga so even just considering ships coming from those I really can’t narrow it down to ten orz but thank you for giving me a chance to ramble on this topic here haha

How long it takes me to finish a piece depends on how complex the piece is and how new a thing to draw it is to me, so generally I’d say it goes from around an hour to days of uninterrupted work!

I can confidently say that at some point or another through the past years of shipping it I’ve headcanoned all possibilities, tbh! I like all of them, and I equally enjoy them all! Lately I’ve been stuck on the concept of them sorta forgetting to get married, tho... like, the fact that they’re hero partners gives them all the same legal advantages a marriage would give them and they’ve been dating and living together so long that they’re sort of an item anyway, and maybe at some point through their twenties they exchanged promise rings too, and the public is sorta convinced they are married already anyway so no one brings it up, so they’ll be like, 40 or something, and one day one of their friends will be organizing something or talking about something that requires for them to be actually married and they’ll be like, “holy shit we never did that did we”

When I want to draw based off the canon relationships I will draw based off them anon, it’s a thing of inspiration when I draw for personal pleasure and if I force myself to go one way or another nothing good will come out of it, I’m sure that’s a thing you want as little as I do! But Mina is still one of my favorite girls in the manga and I’m still of the opinion that her design works wonders next to Bakugou’s, so if you’ll be patient I’m sure I’ll feel like drawing the two of them together again! I just ask of you guys to let me draw the boys whenever canon stuff gets my inspiration and mushy feels for them going without making me feel forced to add in Mina as well even if I don’t feel like it

Magic Band AU: like, a band AU but playing instruments does like.… magic. … . there would be like a battle of the bands kind of thing? definitely kiribaku……

Love Notes midquel/sequel thing: How on earth did the class fail to see that Kiri and Baku were dating for SIX MONTHS. well. turns out there was a lot more drama than anticipated. i’m 150 words away from 10k on this thing already and it’s consuming all my waking thoughts. i need to get it out of my system so i can return to BomH. there’s a lot of cute in this fic and i’m giving myself cavities.

Cranky-rishima Part 3: Several years after the events(? panic and smooching count as events i guess) of Doubt, during a reunion dinner, Class A get caught in a targetted quirk attack. It’s a real nightmare trying to get them out. I have a really fun broad outline for this. it’s gonna be a fucking trip.

Actors for a TV Show AU: This is real BARE BONES of a plan right now but LISTEN IT’S KRBK. LISTEN. THEY PLAY TWO CHARACTERS ON A SHOW WHO ARE FAKE DATING. IT’S FAKE FAKE DATING I CAN’T WAIT TO RUN DOWN THIS RABBIT HOLE

Actors for a Broadway Musical AU: the musical is the fantasy au! featuring Smug Bakugou who’s way too pleased with himself for landing the hot gay antihero role, and a newbie to the showbiz world Kirishima who thinks he’s insufferable but has to play his love interest anyway because holy shit this is his breakout role and WHOOPS THEY FALL IN LOVE

Noise AU: i have less than a whisper of an idea for this but the Chaos Walking books are one of my favourite damn things and i desperately want to write with the concept of the Noise. with krbk it would be SO FUCKING INTERESTING but i’m still tryin to work out how it would work ‘cause like, i don’t want it to be a crossover, per se? i just want the Noise hhhh

Everyone Knows That Cats Are Independent Sequel: Krbk finally go on their first date, Kiri visits the Lab Full Of Explosive Things at last with his Firebreathing Daemon. We find out who Mina’s Train Girl is. Kaminari and Jirou are acting strangely. I have a shining vision in my head but have written nothing here yet and I need to finish some other things before I do haha.

Meld: Bakugou and Kirishima are hit with a bodysharing quirk and a villain gets away. Their bodies were melded together, which is weird and awkward for everyone involved. Then… their minds start to meld too. Can the villain who did this be tracked down and made to reverse this? Or will they slowly begin to lose their own sense of selves, their individuality, and become someone different altogether? I’m not sure if I’ll actually end up writing this. Might be too angsty for my usual stuff. Would probably classify it as at least mild horror, too.

Guardian Angel AU: Kirishima nearly dies, but he’s saved by a (really hot) guardian angel with a surprisingly foul tongue. A (really hot) guardian angel who doesn’t seem to know what to do because Kirishima can see him, and that’s not in the shitty guardian angel manual he was given before he was forced to take this job if he wants to go back to being mortal. There’s gonna be like, curses? and weird stuff? magical things? but i think this is gonna be a funny one.

Drowning is Silent: idk man i just had the title come to me in the dead of night. haven’t decided what it’s about yet but?? maybe some focus on Bakugou’s claustrophobia??? idk yet, maybe it’s gonna be a title for something to do with In Space, Nobody Can Hear You Explode?? does this count as a WIP?

Third Wheel: pro-hero days fic. The Bakusquad decide that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and Baku and Kiri need to get together already. cue shenanigans as they try desperately not to be third wheels. FUN TIMES AHEAD.

Chatfic: it’s a chatfic? ?? ? it sort of turned into a ‘Bakugou Deals With Being Ace, and Also Krbk Will Happen’ story so i guess that’s my plot. i’m still working on like, ,, , plot details but i have about 8k words sunk into this and i’m torturing myself because i think I’m going to have to add timestamps to keep the order of things clear

So that’s that i guess! anyone wanna hear more details for any of ‘em?

I have ships I like and ships I don’t and ships I’m indifferent about, but I’m a firm believer in the ship and let ship principle~ sadly bkdk is strictly platonic for me (I see them too much as sibs for it to work in a romantic way, at this point), but I do adore their relationship and the way Horikoshi is writing it TT^TT it’s def one of my favorite Bakugou relationships, such a wonderfully complex story 💕

I have in the past drawn them in AUs inspired by characters from other fandoms, if that’s what you’re asking! At the top of my head I can remember drawing them as Black⭐Star and Tsubaki from Soul Eater, Doumeki and Watanuki from xxxHolic and Jacuzzi and Nice from Baccano!, but I’m sure those are not the only ones... I’m never against that sort of AUs, if you have anything you’d like to see ask and I’ll see if I know the fandom you’re thinking about! :D

I’ve also not watched past the first season of the cartoon itself so by now I don’t think I have the necessary information to make AUs based on that fandom, but the concept of my kids in space or piloting mechas is a wonderful one nonetheless haha

Oh heck thank you so much for being interested in something like that! I’ve actually thought about something of the like, but if I ever did it would be a small zine with pieces made specifically for it! I have to research the whole thing a bit more, but in case I’ll reach a point where it’s a concrete possibility I’d first post something to check the actual interest in it between everyone! ;^;

It’s actually a rule Bakugou put down for himself for a number of reasons, half related to his own safety and the safety of the person he’s dating, the other half to the fact that Bakugou hates lying, but (again for safety reasons) he can’t just go around telling everyone what he’s doing - he doesn’t want a relationship in which he’d just contantly lie to his partner and ditch them for vigilante work without being able to explain them what’s going on, so he put down the rule as soon as he decided he wanted to do this. Well, he hadn’t been interested in relationships anyway before Kirishima, so it was an easy decision to take at the time - now though...

Ahhhh if only he figured out Kiri and Red are the same person smh that’d make everything so much easier on him

oHO I’m glad you like it cause actually the answer is I spent two years drawing it nearly daily and I finally sorta reached a place when I guess I’m okay with how I draw it lol some time ago I drew a step by step for it? but by now my process is mostly “do whatever and hope for the best”, which incidently is also my process in drawing Kirishima’s hair lmao

YEH it’s one of the reasons why Bakugou still hasn’t figured out Red is Kiri haha thought if you’re asking for the logistics of that, I can’t say I spent too long thinking about it? We can always call it temporary hair dye spry or something like that, but to be fair it’s not like it matters all that much lmao I just needed Baku to be unable to tell it was him easily haha

Oh that’s an hc I see around a lot! Personally I stil prefer them sorta the same size tho ???? with the only difference being Baku being lithe and Kiri being a tank, I think it has to do with the whole “complementary equals” theme they have going on, I like for it to be visually represented too ??? maybe, I had never really thought about the hows or whys of this preference tbh lmao
