First they cut your hair.
(Well, no. This isn't accurate -
First they took you away,
But-
The first moment you can remember -
The moment you can point as everything changed
Is-)
They cut your hair.
Not all of it - just the long, long parts behind your ears.
The parts your people called "marks"-
Where no razor should ever touch.
(Your father and grandfather and brothers and cousins, they all have it. This is your mark, your sign, the physical symbol for your society and religion and culture.)
Your hair is in your hands now.
This isn't the end, you know.
Too soon
They will take away your clothing
(Replace it with their own)
Too soon
They will take away your name
(Replace it with their own)
Too soon
They will take away your faith, your culture, the unique traditions you grew up with-
(Replace it with their own)
They hold a piece of-
(You are not allowed to eat that).
They try to make you eat that.
(They'll celebrate your transformation. )
They take you from your family, like they give you a better one.
Or maybe they send you to a big house, a prison or a school, where you were isolated from the outside, with no way to contact anyone you knew before.
Maybe you'll stay in prison, for months or years, until you'll agree or die or grow old enough.
(You are nine or seven or thirteen years old in prison. You don't get meals from the prison guards. You are beaten and tied up and your legs ache.)
You are one of many, and you know how it goes:
First,
They cut your hair -
#hair cut#violence#lost of identity#residential schools#forced conversation#this been going for centuries#loss of identity#loss of culture#we remember#i have some books and everytime i read about someone get their hair cut i cry#i have shoulder length hair#it's a CHOICE#i cut my hair#but it's a sign of life#(i donate it regularly)#but sometimes I can't help but thinking about the people from my family that we've lost#but it also happened in our family#history#writing#poem

made a neville mood board to go with the small fic i wrote for him! this is my first attempt at writing so let me know what you think!!
summary: you spend an unpleasant amount of time waiting in the cold library for the chance to get to talk to your crush. however, after all is said and done you decide that the pay off was more than worth it.
You couldn’t help but shiver from the shrill chill in the air as you sat waiting, tucked away in one of the many vast isles of the Hogwarts library. Though sitting in one of the deeper and darker isles of the library left you freezing, your placement was nothing but intentional. You purposefully chose to wait in the sector dedicated to books and essays on magical plants because you overheard a certain someone say they intended to study in the library after dinner. And you were sure of where this certain someone would visit first in the library on their studying endeavors.
You want to scoff at yourself for putting yourself in such an uncomfortable situation of waiting in the damp, cold just for the off chance that you might get a few minutes alone to speak to the boy you like. But you don’t have it in you to be annoyed at yourself. He’s just too sweet. And kind. You remember the way his messy brown hair brushes down towards his blue eyes. The same blue eyes that have an adorable glint to them everytime you make small talk during class or the way they light up when you get him on his favorite subject. Herbology. Which is why your placement in the herbology section of the library was nothing less than strategic and optimal.
Your ears perk up as the sound of footsteps on the polished wood floor draw nearer to the desk you’re sitting at. You pretend not to notice them as the figure turns the corner of the isle.
“Oh hey, y/n! You’re here late this evening.” Neville says clearly surprised by your presence compared to the general vacantness of the rest of the library. You plaster the most pleasant smile on your face that you can conjure and look up from the book you had placed in front of you. It was, admittedly, one you had already read before. Grabbing it from the shelves upon your arrival for the purpose of looking as if you were there for actual intellectual purposes.
“As are you, Longbottom.” You reply, softening your eyes as you bring them to meet his.
“That’s true.” He says sheepishly, pulling at his sleeves in a nervous manner. “But I need to cram for the darks arts test tomorrow.”
“So you came to the herbology section?” You question, an eyebrow quirking up in the process. His face flushed a shade of red and it makes your heart flutter. His meekness is always something you’ve found so endearing about him. He was one of the most benevolent and intriguing people you knew of and he had the audacity to hide it behind his bashfulness.
“Well, I-… I just wanted to check something out to read before bed.” He stutters to you. You hummed an understanding response.
“Perhaps you would like this.” You say closing the book you had opened to a random page in front of you. “Professor Sprout had us read some excerpts from it a few years back for a project in her class but, there’s actually a lot more fascinating information if you’re interested in delving deeper.” you tell Neville as you reach to hand him the book, hoping he’d take it.
“S-sounds perfect. Thank you, y/n” Neville says as his eyes cut to meet yours and take the book from your hand. You can tell he wants to avert his eyes from yours, as he typically does when he’s nervous, but he makes himself hold your gaze. And the thought of him putting such effort in an a minor exchange with you makes your heart swell. In the few seconds of silence that follow you contemplate that maybe, just maybe, this consuming crush of yours isn’t completely one sided. That maybe he values these small exchanges the two of you often have as much as you do. And as much as the thought fills you with warmth you couldn’t help but to shiver again from the unrelenting chill in the air of the library.
“You’re cold.” Neville says, his eyebrows scrunching together slightly. His tone sounds a mixture of matter-of-fact and concerned.
“Well, it is freezing in here.” You say huffing out a low laugh.
“Here take my jumper.” He says reaching for the hem to pull the article of clothing off.
“No!” You exclaim slightly louder than you intended. Neville pauses and looks to you with slight confusion etching his features.
“Why not?” He ask, his tone uncertain. Was it disappointment you heard in his voice? Perhaps he wanted you to wear his sweater. To find comfort in something that came from him. Or perhaps he was being his usual gallant self. “He’s too selfless for his own good” you think silently to yourself.
“Because then you will freeze, Neville.” You say.
“I’m down here all the time. I’m used to it by now.” He says determined and reaches to take his sweater off again. This time you don’t protest. I mean you’re only human after all. And if the boy of whom you’re irevabicly infatuated with offers you his sweater, who are you to deny him? Neville’s hand reaches the hem once more and you can’t help but let your eyes slide over his form. You admire the way his white button up is messily tucked in his trousers, in true Neville fashion. It was your turn to sport a flush on your checks as Neville so often did. Though your cheeks were more light, dusted with pink compared to Neville’s typical dark, red flush.
“Thank you. You’re too gallant for your own good.” You tell him, aloud this time.
“If being gallant means not letting a lady freeze to death in the library then yes, I suppose I am.” Neville says with an eerie amount of confidence. Yes, his voice did waver slightly but he held your gaze the entire time. Never backing down.
“Yes, that’s actually exactly what gallant means, Neville.” You say with a playful roll of the eyes. You slip the sweater on and can’t help but admire it. It’s in line with his usual fashion. It was brown with a black, excessive pattern upon it. When you look closely you notice slight frays in the fabric, insinuating that the sweater had been worn a long time. That it had been well loved. And as you tug your head through the neck hole you’re overwhelmed the scent of the green houses combined the lavender and cedar scented shampoo he used. You could bask in this scent forever you think to yourself.
“Consider it payback in exchange for the good book recommendation then” Neville retorted.
“It’s hardly a helpful recommendation if you’ve already read it some of it” you respond softly, a sweet smile tugging your lips as you lock eyes with the tall, brown haired boy.
“That was fourth year. I was due for a reread of it.” he says, waving his hand dismissively. He smile at him in response and he smiles back in return. A small silence envelops the two of you and you can feel the conversation starting to drift away. Feeling as though everything that needed to be said was already spoken. Your mind starts clawing at ways to keep a discussion between the two of you going. After all, you didn’t wait in this fridged library for an hour just for a small exchange of words. No, you needed to relish in his presence just a little longer.
“It is unusually cold to be so close to the beginning of the term. I feel bad for all the people that are going to outside in the quidditch stands tomorrow.” You say in a feeble attempt to make this fleeting conversation last a little longer. You’ve resorted to talking about the weather. Merlin, how pathetic you’ve become. How pitiful this boy has made you.
“Are- Uhm did you plan to go to the game tomorrow?” He ask you. His eyes leave yours and dart around the room as he timidly awaits your answer. The question takes you aback and you try desperately to keep the surprise off your face. Though your eyes widen and your small smile stretches a little larger.
“I haven’t decided.” You say honestly. “I do enjoy attending the occasional match but I sometimes favor staying in the castle and catching up on my reading.” In the few seconds of silence that follow your mind is flooded with so many questions. Was this his way of inviting you to the match? Did he want to attend the game with you? Was he simply being curious? You did bring up quidditch first, after all. Perhaps he was simply humoring your attempt at conversation.
“Well I- I mean if you’d like to go… maybe I could save you a seat. O-only if you wanted to attend I mean.” Neville stammered. The confidence he earlier displayed when insisting you take his sweater seemed to have escaped him as he nervously fidgeted with his hands. His gazed turned down to the floor, looking anywhere expect to you.
“You want me to go to the quidditch match with you?” You softly ask, seeking confirmation. His nervous eyes finally meet your wide, hopeful ones.
“I would- I mean yes I do. Only if attending seems fun to you, of course. I usually go to all the Gryffindor matches. House pride and all, ya know…”Neville answers meekly.
“I’d quite like that, Neville.” You say reassuringly. You try to remind calm and quiet but enthusiasm radiates from your eyes, smile, and voice. And it doesn’t go unnoticed by you or Neville.
“Great! I’d like that too.” Neville says offering you a crooked smile. Another blushed creeps on his cheeks and you wonder how he manages to look so flushed in such a cool environment. You stand and push your chair back to its proper place under the table.
“I suppose I won’t keep you from your studying any longer. I hear the dark arts test is going to be a doozy. Goodnight, Neville.” You say as you take your leave. Though your steps seem calm and collected your mind is simply racing with giddiness. You can’t help but hope the chill in the air stays. After all, you have the perfect sweater to wear to tomorrow’s game if it does.
As you turn the corner of the isle, almost out of his eyesight you hear Neville call out to you “Goodnight y/n, stay warm!” And it was that moment that you realize patiently waiting in the emptiness and cold of the herbology section of the library was more than worth it.

Not gonna lie, I feel like Risotto would love a Chubby Darling
Yes yes yes. It's the truth and I'm going feral. He would love every roll and curve!! Now the worm living in my brain demands I write something, so I present a short.
Cute
(Risotto X chubby gender neutral reader)
Everytime he came in you couldn't help but stare. Tall, bleached white hair, black and red eyes and a grungy sense of fashion. He wasn't the demographic that typically came to this coffee shop, but he'd become a daily customer and always tipped if he had spare change so the staff didn't care much.
He'd always order a long black and read the newspaper for a while before leaving. Occasionally you'd have an entitled customer point him out and demand he leave the establishment. You'd always just give them the same monotone response.
"He's a paying customer and he's not causing any issues"
There was one particularly pushy client once who'd redirected her complaints to you.
"Then I'll take my business elsewhere since they don't even seem to have any standards for staff either, telling by you" she hissed only to be met by him behind her. She held her handbag tightly to her chest as she quivered in front of him.
"If you have a problem with me then you bring it up with me, don't go dragging others into a job that's not theirs" he told the woman simply. She sprinted away almost immediately.
Then there was that one time he asked for your number. Of course you were shocked. Out of anyone why was it you he was asking you. He'd probably caught your eyes wandering when he didn't have a shirt on.
Yeah he was as attractive as he was intimidating but you knew he'd catch people's attention and then they'd inevitably look at you and wonder why the hell someone like him was dating someone like you.
You'd tried dating before but You'd inevitably get the 'oh you look abit bigger then the photo' or them giving you unsolicited weight loss advice. It honestly made you feel worthless, constantly being judged by your size. You felt like you worth worthy of love.
Besides you knew nothing about this guy except his name was Risotto. You doubt he wanted to date you.
Ever since you'd tried to avoid taking orders whenever he was around.
And now here you are... hands chained up to a pipe somehow in some dinghy ally in the middle of the night while he stared you down.
"Please let me go... If you want my money I'll give you my pin code" you muttered a plea.
"I have no need for your money" he told you.
Your hands tried to reach down to pull down your top that was currently riding up your waist but he swiftly stopped you. He free hand giving your hip a squeeze, his fingers sinking into your supple flesh.
You gasped as you pulled yourself away from him.
"You creeps have no standards" you hissed under your breath.
"You really think that little of yourself? I think you're quite cute actually" he told you. Your eyes widened in shock, why him of all people was attracted to you, you wouldn't understand.
He continued to kneed your body. The pout on your lips as he did so was adorable.
"No one has told you that, have they?" He asked you as his hands continued to rub and squeeze your hips. You remained silent.
"You didn't think you were good enough me... that's why you said no and cut me off?" He continued before placing a kiss on your forehead. You slumped down the wall, sobbing. Was it fear or that he was it him reading you like a book, you couldn't tell anymore.
His heart was practically racing as he saw the way your body pressed and molded together. The ripples in your thighs as they pressed tightly together, the way your waist rolled over the pants you were wearing and how you stomach bulged out more. God you were perfect.
"Just leave me alone" you muttered.
"But I love you" he retorted.
"You know nothing about me" you said
"I know a lot about you (Y/n) (M/n) (L/n), as a matter of fact I think I know all there is to know about you" he said. How did he find out what your middle and last name were?
You wanted to scream for help but you knew better then to try after how he managed to chain you up in thin air. You could only assume chains were the least that he could do.
"Risotto please.... please let me go" you begged again. He lifted your face to look up at him, you cheeks. Even with how gentle he held you, your face squished like putty around his fingers.
"No one's going to hurt you ever again" he told you.

Date At The Carnival
Robin Buckley x Female reader
Warning: nothing just fluff. Thus is very gay
Summary: Robin decided to take you to the carnival on your date.
You and Robin had been going out for awhile. She hasn't asked you to be her girlfriend yet. But you really liked her. I mean really liked her. I rambled about her all the time to Eddie. He thinks it's adorable but annoying. I was laying in bed reading my book when my pink phone rang loudly. I rolled over a bit and picked it up.
"Harrington residence" I said closing my book. No one replied. "Listen if you're calling for Steve he isn't home right now. I can take a massage if-" I started but someone finally replied. "Hey y/n. Are you busy tonight?" Ribins voice echoed through the phone. I immediately blushed.
"No I'm not. Why?" I asked smiling hoping she'd take me out. My hand found the cord and twisted it with my finger. "Can I take you out tonight?" She said nervously. "I mean you don't have to say yes. I understand. I just had this crazy idea for a date and I figured you would like to go out tonight since Steve isn't home. I'm rambling alot right now. I'm sorry-" I listened to her ramble for awhile before I finally cut her off.
"Robin. I'd love to go out with you tonight. Where are we going?" I asked smiling while sitting up. "I figured id do something super cheesy like taking you to the carnival. We can eat a bunch of food that's absolutely horrible for us." She said laughing nervously. "That sounds so amazing. I can't wait." I said giggling. "Perfect. I'll pick you up in two hours" she said nervously. Her raspy voice giving me butterflies.
"Okay bye beautiful" I said knowing it would make her flustered. She gasped before hanging up. I hung up my phone and chuckled. I practically jumped up off my bed to get ready. I'm so nervous. What if she decides tonight that she doesn't want to see me again? Or what if she kisses me?
Robin was just as nervous as you were. She was nervous to make the call to ask you. What if you don't like the date? What if you hate the way she rambles. What if you think her breath stinks when she trys to kiss you? But you called her beautiful? What am I going to wear? Shit!
The two girls scrambled to get ready. Y/n was worrying about what to wear and Robin was worried about how she would ask y/n out. Finally the time came and Robin got in her moms car. She drove to the Harrington house and knocked on the door. Y/n opened it. She looks stunning. Her hair was sitting just right and her eyes lit up when she saw Robin was standing there with a flower. She blushed.
"Hi robin" she said quietly. "Hey. Uh..this is for you" she said handing her the flower. "Aww its so beautiful" The flustered girl took it from her and dragged Robin inside. Y/n took out a glass and put water in it. She placed the beautiful flower in it and smelled it. Robin checked her out multiple times and couldn't understand how she got more beautiful everytime she saw her. Y/ns face turned bright red.
"Robin that is so cute. I didn't know you thought I was beautiful everytime you saw me" y/n said towards Robin as she put a peice of hair behind her ear. "Did I say...uh did I say that out loud?" Robin asked turning pink. The other girl nodded. "It's okay Robin. I think you look beautiful too. everytime I see you I can't stop thinking about how beautiful you are. And how I can't belive that I'm going out with you." Y/n rambled a bit and Robin smiled widely. Both girls laughed.
"We should go" Robin said checking her watch. Y/n nodded and they went. Robin opened y/ns door and gestured for her to get it. They listened to some music on the way to the carnival. Both girls singing towards each other over dramatically. When they got there y/ns eyes wondered. Her eyes were practically in heart shapes. "Okay I'm gonna he honest. I've never been to a fair" She said to Robin. Robin looked shocked.
"What!!! Okay now this has to be a perfect date!" She said laughing. The girls bought there wrist bands and looked around. "So Robin what are we doing first?" Y/n asked smiling at the blonde girl. "I was thinking we could ride some rides first. Then play some games. Or we could get food after the rides and then play games" Robin explained. Y/n smiled wider at Robin who seemed overly excited about eating the food here. Robin's blue eyes peered down at her and they locked eyes. Both girls slowly smiled at one another before someone bumped into them.
They were knocked out of there trance and Robin took y/ns hand. They walked around before they found a chair swing ride. Both girls waited in line before they could get on. They both let the man lock them in. As he went around the girls nervously sat. "Robin I'm scared" the younger girl admitted. Robin smiled nervously. "Me too. But once we get up there it'll be so worth it. Trust me. Hey is that steve?" Robin said laughing. Y/n turned her head around.
"Harrington!" Robin yelled and steve looked straight."Oh hey guys!" He said smiling the person next to him looked up. Dustin. "Hi!!!" Dustin yelled. "Hi dustin!" Y/n said smiling. A sound went off and the girls turned around. Y/ns smile dropped and Robin took notice of the girls pale face. She reached over and took ahold of her hand. "Hey..it'll be okay. I promise. And if you hated it after I'll buy you a fried oreo" Robin said in a lower voice. Y/n nodded smiling slightly. The ride started.
They girls spun around and around before they got lifted into the air. At first it was scary but Robin's laugh made y/n laugh. She wasn't scared anymore. You could see the whole town from up here. Y/n threw her arms back to let the wind hit her face. Robin smiled at the girl while holding the chains. They didn't even notice the flash that went off behind them. Dustin had snapped a photo of the girls wanting them to have it when he got it.
The ride ended after awhile and when the girls got down they were giggling like crazy. "That was so much fun!" Y/n exclaimed and Robin smiled at her. "See I told you. What ride do you want to do next?" She asked y/n. Y/n looked around before pointing at the scrambler. Robin nodded and let y/n drag her over. They again waited in line talking with one another before it was there turn eventually. They sat next to eachother obviously.
The grabbed eachothers hand while it flung them around. The girls screamed and laughed the entire night. Riding every single ride they could. After a couple hours of riding all the rides the girls needed a break from the adrenaline. They were starving. Robin bought nachos, pretzels, two sodas, chips, and fries. Of course y/n offered to pay but robin insisted. She only insisted because she had worked at scoops a long time and now the video store.
"This looks like a heart attack waiting to happen" a voice said behind them. Steve. Y/ns older brother. She scoffed jokingly before taking a fry. "So are you two here on a...date?" Steve asked quietly. I nodded happily and robin nodded nervously. "You two would be really cute together." Dustin said smiling. They both blushed. "Thanks dustin." Robin said laughing. They all talked for a bit before Steve had to find the rest of his children.
The girls shared the food and laughed at joked the other told. They talked for what felt like forever. Robin choked on her drink when y/n tried to shove a handful of chips in her mouth. After they had calmed down they finished there food and talked a little bit longer. Robin looked up at y/n who was looking around. Y/n wasn't oblivious to Robin's staring so she made that known.
"You're staring buckley. Take a picture it'll last longer." She jokingly said. "Trust me. If I had a camera I would. But not in the creepy way you know. In the cute way" She said nervously laughing. "So you like what you see?" Y/n asked turning her head to look Robin in the eyes. Robin shook her head yes nervously.
"Good. Cause I like what I see too." She whispered to Robin. Robin blushed profusely. They had locked eyes and were both smiling softly. A bell had went off on a game near by and it broke the two out of the trance again.
"Let's go play some games. Shall we my lady?" Robin said throwing the trash away and offering y/n her hand. She took Robin's hand and they were off. They walked around and found a ring toss game. Y/n had made it a competition to see who could get more points. Robin won and had gotten abunch of tickets. Y/n only got a few and pouted about it. "It's okay love. Next game I'm sure you'll beat me" Robin reassured the pouting girl.
Sure enough y/n did beat Robin at the strength game. The girls won games back and forth. They had to get a bag for there tickets. They saw a fun house and y/n pointed excitedly. They waited in line talking about who was gonna have more tickets before the night ended. It was finally there turn and they went inside. The held hands walking through the fun house.
"Robin thanks for taking me out tonight. I'm having a really good time" y/n said softly smiling up at the short haired girl. Robin blushed but y/n couldn't see because of the lights. "Your welcome. I was nervous you wouldn't have fun and that you'd think it was cliche." Robin confessed. "What. No I love this date. It's been so perfect. I've loved every second of the date you planned. I was scared you were gonna ghost me" She confessed. Robin turned to her.
"I'd never. I really like you y/n. I've never felt this way about anyone. I mean I get nervous just thinking about you. I ramble about you to everyone all the time. When we were in school I can't stop staring at you. I can't stop wanting to talk to you. And when we lock eyes it's like my heart stops. No it's like everything around us slows down and it's only us. I mean it sounds cliche but it's true. I love the way your eyes light up when you get overly excited. And how when you read your nose scrunches. Or...or when you laugh it isn't a fake ha ha it's a real laugh. A belly laugh. You snort when you laugh to hard. It's absolutely adorable. Eveytime i see you staring at me i get butterflies in my stomach. And your voice when i hear you talk i get so nervous. I really like you y/n. Ive liked you since freshman year when you were dating that one guy with the curly red hair. I was so jealous because i wanted to be the one you looked at like that. I wanted to hold your hand when we walked down the halls. I wanted to kiss you every time i saw you. I wanted to hold you late at night when you snuck in or if i snuck in. I wanted to take you out on dates. I wanted you to be my girl. I still do." Robin explained as they went though crazy halls.
Y/n stopped walking and tears filled her eyes. Robin continued walking until they lose touch. There hands falling out of eachothers. Robin stopped and turned. Her face dropped. "Oh no. Did I do something. Say something. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-" Robin started as she walking towards y/n. Y/n waved her off.
"No no. You didn't say anything. I mean I'm crying cause of what you said. No one has ever said anything like that. Robin I...I felt the same way freshman year. I thought I liked both guys and girls but I was so wrong. The first day I saw you I was so jealous. You were so carefree and so gorgeous. I mean drop dead. I really liked you Robin. I still do of course. I just. I didn't think you liked me as much as I liked you." Y/n said as Robin wiped her tears away.
"Of course I like you as much as you like me. Possible even more. I was so happy when you and him broke up by the way. Cause that's when me and you met fully." She said smiling. Y/n smiled back and both girls started to walk again. They finally started to pay attention around them. Creepy clown music played and y/n held tighter onto Robin's arm. "You okay?" She asked softly. "Mhm. You know some people have fears of spiders and darkness. Mine is clowns. I fucking hate them. There so fucking creepy with their bright red noses and painted in smile." Y/n explained hiding her face into Robin's shoulder. Robin wrapped her arms around the girl stopping them.
"Hey look at me. It'll be okay. You have me. I'll protect you from any pervy ass clowns in here. Okay?" She reassured and y/n nodded smiling softly. They walked through the doorway and a clowns popped out of the wall. Y/n jumped behind Robin screaming and Robin threw a punch. The thing broke off the wall and the girls gasped.
"Told you I'd protect you" Robin said shaking her hand off. Y/n laughed slightly and grabbed the girls hand as they walked again. Moving bouncy clowns had come up and Robin wrapped her arms around y/n. She practically rushed her out of the room. The next room was the mirror maze. Y/n was cautiously walking the two through it.
"Hey is that the exit?" Y/n asked. As she said that a kid ran past them and towards the exit said. Slam! He fell onto the floor and started crying. The dad picked him up and walked him out of the room. "I'm glad I didn't do that" Robin joked and y/n let out a loud laugh. The next room was filled with smoke. The lights were changing colors. Robin thought it would be a perfect time to kiss y/n. They were alone again. Robin had stopped and y/n walked forward looking around during a bit before turning to Robin.
Robin pulled her closer and they locked eyes. The music in the room was blasting a random song. Y/n gulped and both girls leaned into one another. There lips were about to touch when a group of football boys came running through. They jumped apart out of fear. One boy grabbed y/n and shook her while yelling in her face. He was drunk. Both girls could smell the alcohol on them. The ran out of the room and both girls left the fun house in a bit of a nervous mood.
Robin was slightly angry. They were about to kiss when those jock assholes ruined it. Y/n was a bit sad. She thought the date was over. She thought that they'd never have there first kiss.
"Want to cash in our tickets?" Robin asked smiling at the shorter girl. Y/n nodded smiling a bit still in a sour mood. "We can both get the other something" y/n said quietly. Robin took it as a challenge. They were going to meet each other by the Farris wheel. Y/n went to a prize booth and gave the women her tickets. The lady counted them as y/n saw Steve. He was walked towards the girl. The lady pointed at a section of prizes the girl could have.
"Hey Steve. Which one do you think Robin might like?" Y/n asked nervously. Steve pointed to the medium sized white rabbit. "But she'd like anything YOU got her. Cause it's coming from YOU!" Steve said smiling down at her. She pointed at it and the lady asked if y/n wanted to put something special on it. She nodded asking like what. She explained it to y/n and y/n said okay. She did her thing with it and Steve had left y/n to do something.
The prize lady gave her the bunny and y/n smiled. The white bunny had a locket on it that y/n was going to give Robin at the end of the night. She gave the lady a picture of them on their first date that she had in her wallet. She put it in the locket.
Meanwhile...
Robin was frantically asking people if she could have their ticket. She found the party who were all earing food. "Hey kids. Do any of you guys really need your tickets?" She asked frantic. "Why?" Lucas asked. You see Robin had came out to the party her senior year. They were all getting used to it but they all loved her either way. "I want to get a big bear for y/n. I want to make this Daye really special. You see I was going to get her this bear so when we go on the ferris wheel I can ask her out like the cliche movies you know?" She explained nervously. Max gushed at the nervous teen.
"Aww that's so freaking cute Robin! You can have mine and Jane's tickets." Max said handing them to her. She thanked her. Mike, will, and Dustin gave her half of their tickets. Lucas gave her 34 of his but only cause max smacked his shoulder. Steve walked over with a huge handful of tickets. "This is the best I could do Robin. I don't know if it's enough. But eddie is running around. In all honesty I think he's stealing them or giving people free drugs for em." Steve said giving them to Robin. Robin made the party help count how many she had.
They all added the total and she was 300 tickets away. She was freaking out until eddie ran over with the hellfire kids and threw tickets all on the picnic table. Steve said he wanted to see how y/n was doing so he left. Eddie counted them and he had 900 tickets. More than enough. She thanked them all and ran to the large prize booth. She handed them her tickets and they pointed at what she could get. She pointed at the bear and saw she could sew a heart on its chest with a name on it.
She let the man sew it on for the extra tickets and let the man sew there ship name on it. The ship name Dustin came up with. The man gave Robin the bear and she thanked him. The party gave Robin a bunch of thumbs up before she ran to the ferris wheel. Y/n was standing looking around nervously. Until she locked eyes with Robin.
"Here I got you this" Robin said smiling. "Woah now I feel bad cause my gift is tiny." Y/n said pouting. "What no. Yours is wonderful. I love it!" She said smiling. Y/n hugged the huge bear. Robin hugged the bunny.
"Do you want to ride the ferris wheel?" Robin asked. Y/n nodded shyly. They showed there bands and since tbe basket for them to sit in hold four people they put there stuffed animals on one side. Robin was talking to the girl running the ferris wheel. Without y/n noticing she slipped the girl a 20 dollar bill. The girl nodded at Robin and Robin sat with y/n. The ride stared and they went around 5 times. Before it slowly stopped while the girls were at the top.
The looked around before y/n spoke. "Did you see the locket?" She asked. Robin moved to grab for it. She opened it and turned red. "This is so cute. Put it on me please" Robin said handing it to y/n. Y/n did. Robin turned around and they locked eyes. Finally their moment. They both leaned in and kissed. There lips met. Robin's hand went to y/ns cheek pulling her deeper into the kiss. Y/ns right hand fell as Robin's waist as her left softly placed its self on her neck.
Both girls felt fireworks go off. Then real life fireworks went off and it scared the girls. They pulled away and looked at the lit up sky. The two laughed and looked at each other again. The kissed again this time shorter. "Will you be my girlfriend?" They both asked eachother as they pulled away. It caused them both to laugh again. "Yes" the said again at the same time. They kissed again and Robin held up a fist. The ride moved again and they pulled away.
"That was so romantic" y/n said. "I mightve planned that" Robin said smiling. Y/n kissed Robin again smiling into the kiss. The party was waiting for them to get off and when they did they were bombarded with questions. The girls smiled at eachother. "We are officially dating!" Y/n yelled cheerfully. Everyone cheered with her and Robin was red. Steve congratulated them and so did eddie.
Robin drove y/n home shortly after that. Both girls talking about how nervous they were about the date and how it was better than they ever could've dreamed. Robin walked y/n up to her door and kissed her like in the movies.
"Thank you for the best date night ever" y/n said kissing Robin again. "Mm. Thank you for being the best most beautiful date ever love" Robin said flirtatiously back to the shorter girl. They kissed one more time before y/n went inside with her bear. Y/n leaned against her fromt door and robin leaned against the other side of the door happily.
"Best date ever" both girls whispered touching their lips.
Y/n ran to her room excitedly. She changed into her pj's and put the bear on her bed. She looked at her wrist band and carefully took it off. She put it in her jewelry box shutting it carefully. She laid in bed that night snuggling the bear tightly before she noticed the heart.
She gushed about how cute Robin was that night. Robin drove home thinking about y/n the entire way there. When Robin got home she rushed to her room and changed. She tore off her band and pined it to her board of photos of all her friends. She played with the locket all night until she fell asleep.

The words we keep
Soulmate au - first words tattoed on the wrist
Includes: Venti | Diluc | Kaeya | Albedo | Zhongli | Xiao | Childe
Mentions of suicide in Zhongli; angst and brief violence for Childe
Oh you're here- I mean! I'm sorry I didn't mean to take your spot!
The bard had guessed that he'd meet his soulmate either in Angel's Share, in Windrise, or at the hands of his statue in Mondstadt. But the latter two were more unlikely. But he doesn't mind sharing his space with you really. In fact, Venti would be more than willing to let you in his space. But lo and behold! He didn't think he'd meet you at the hands of his statue!
Nights prior, you always heard a voice singing songs of various emotions. The voice eventually led you to Barbatos's statue. When you looked up, you saw the bard in green. His voice was very calming and pleasant to hear, so you always visited the statue at night. Until recently, your curiosity grew. Why does the bard always stay there at night?
Seeing your relaxed form on his statue, hair swaying in the wind. Venti just went soft. "Quite the lovely view isn't it?"
He didn't mean to surprise but you still did become surprised. He found it endearing. "Oh you're here- I mean! I'm sorry I didn't mean to take your spot!"
Ah- you scared them. Please don't do that.
Now who did he scare and what did he do to warrant his soulmate's first words to him? Diluc has always been aware that he can be intimidating and usually he doesn't mind that. But for you- he does give half a mind.
There was a new winemaker that Connor had hired and Diluc has yet to meet them. Connor had even commented that their methods were a bit unusual. But if it's enough to get the former's approval, then Diluc will see to this newcomer.
Diluc met you during the night, just at the edges of the Stone Gate that signifies the border between Mondtsadt and Liyue. The man was simply patrolling around the area for any hidden dangers. That's when he saw you, kneeling on the ground with a group of slimes surrounding you. Seeing your plight, Diliuc quickly ran and summoned his greatsword. With a few swipes imbued with pyro, the slimes hastily retreated. He was about to chase them off, but he was more concerned of your safety.
Diluc was about to speak when you cut him off as you stood up, dusting your clothes. "Ah- you scared them. Please don't do that."
Diluc was dumbstruck for a second. He did not expect to meet his soulmate right here right now. Seeing his stupefied look, you raised a brow. "Are… you alright, Sir Diluc?"
"Those slimes were about to attack you." Diluc pointed out. His reply made you chuckle a bit and shake your head to the sides. Did he say anything funny?
"No they were not. I was trying to befriend them so that I could use their slime concentrations for the winery."
Now Diluc was even more confused. Slime? For tbe winery? "Wait- you're the new-"
"Winemaker. And your soulmate if you're not yet aware. Come on, let's go look for those slimes! We can talk on the way about our… professional and not-so professional side of our relationship." And with that, you trailed to the path of the slimes with a smile on your face. As for the wine tycoon, he was still confused- like a lost puppy, but there was this gentle smile that landed on his lips as he followed you.
Yes, I am suffering and in need of a Pyro Vision. Soulmate or not, if you don't have a Pyro Vision- shoo.
The text tattooed on Kaeya's wrist always left him laughing. He just knows, that this was meant to be a comical moment. He can even imagine the moment he meets his soulmate just from these words alone. But of course, he does worry about your well-being. Kaeya had his guesses. Maybe he would meet you in Dragonspine or maybe- you were an unprepared tourist enduring the permafrost of Snezhnaya and he'd meet you there. Well- in the end, he's still amused at your winterish pain.
Sure enough, Kaeya was tasked to scout Dragonspine for any Fatui activity. He could feel it under his skin that he'll meet you any second now. As he traversed through the mountain path, he noticed a group of warming seelies hovering over… someone? And that someone is shivering immensely. The captain grinned.
You heard footsteps approaching but you stayed in your crouched position, determined to preserve your body temperature. The seelies were helping, sure, but they were not enough to counter the coldness your Cryo Vision emanates. Damn it. Just because you're a cryo user doesn't mean you're immune to sheer cold.
The footsteps stopped and you snorted at the words the stranger spoke, "Could this possibly be my soulmate suffering in the cold and in need of a Pyro Vision?"
You huffed, you didn't want to meet your soulmate in this kind of situation. But it happened anyway, much to your dismay. Still crouched, you managed to turn to face the man as seelies continued hovering around.
"Yes, I am suffering and in need of a Pyro Vision. Soulmate or not, if you don't have a Pyro Vision- shoo."
Now actually hearing it from you made Kaeya laugh hard. If he was already amused just from the ink on his wrist before, Kaeya's now even more so deeply amused. You muttered sadist on his way. Deciding he's had enough a good laugh for today, the captain gave you his fur coat and a warming bottle. "Come on, let's get you some place warm, yes?"
You're not the only one! I actually did one for you, too!
When his mind is not occupied by hus studies, it would often drift ink embedded on his wrist. Everytime Albedo does so, he would often wonder what did the two of make for each other that would lead to you eventual meeting.
The Windblume Festival arrived, and of course, so will tourists from other lands. Usually, Albedo would simply pay no heed to the ongoing festivities and their participants. But this time- things were different. You unknowingly caught the alchemist's eye. There was this sudden itch in his hands- and Albedo knew he had to sketch you form. However, before he could even approach you- you left to another direction.
He caught sight of you again the next day. You were reading a book on a bench, with the plaza fountain giving you a beautiful background for Albedo. Discreetly, the alchemist sat on a bench front of yours and began sketching. Unbeknownst by him, you were also entranced by his form and you, too, began sketching.
Albedo was first to finish- and like usual, he would give the sketch to the person he drew of even if they were strangers. As he walked, there was this certain nervousness that found way in his stomach. This never happened before. Why was he nervous?
Once close enough, Albedo cleared his throat and handed you his sketch, "I know this seems suspicious, but I want you to have this. You have a wonderful form."
You'd be lying if you said your heart did not stop a beat at his words. When you saw the paper he was offering you, you gasped at how he caught every detail of you. Bashful, you tore the page you were drawing on from sketchbook and gave it to him.
"You're not the only one! I actually did one for you, too!"
When your words reached his ears, Archons bless you as he gave you a genuine and joyful smile.
Please... don't touch my heart that wants to disappear.
When Zhongli fully embraced his mortal form, he didn't expect the universe to gift him a soulmate. Like a snake, ink slithered into words that gave his heart a certain sadness. Zhongli knew, you were suffering somewhere... Out there...
He saw you first at the highest peak of Guyun Stone Forest. Everything happened so quickly. One second he was watching your distant form from the beaches below then the next he knew- his heart dropped, the same way you willingly fell to the hands of death that waited in the sea. The archon did what he knew is right- and that is saving you.
To Zhongli, immoratlity can both be a blessing and a curse. When your skins touched, he knew you were of immortality. He could sense it. And he could also sense the tiredness that nest in your soul from the burden of immortality.
Once Zhongli landed on safe ground, that's when he spoke. "I won't ask why, however is this truly what you want?"
The way his words reflected the ink written on your wrist made you open your eyes wide. When the realization sank in- that this man is your soulmate, you began crying. You were tired of life- but this man- this man is now your lock away from your want for death. If you stayed with him- another cycle of seeing the people you love come and go.
"Please..." you begged, "don't touch my heart that wants to disappear..."
Your voice was sad and pleading- but Zhongli was a stubborn man, just like his element. He wanted to help you but not by giving your death. He wanted you to see life in a new light, hopefully with him by your side.
Excuse me... Here- for you. Qingxin.
Xiao was always resolute in his resolve that he has no need of a soulmate deemed by the universe. However, there are times that he would let his mind flutter around the concept. Specifically, around the words elegantly written on his wrist and his soulmate. Xiao would question why would you give him qingxin flowers in the first place. Other than that, there was also this underlying worry in his thoughts about you and the qingxin flowers. These flowers... they can only be gathered on high stone peaks. What if you slipped and fall?
This leads Xiao to have days where he just spends his time at the peaks of Jueyun Karst, looking out for any foolish person scale mountains just for qingxin. It's not because he's worried about you no- Xiao just doesn't want anyone die under his protection over Liyue. There has already been too much deat-
"Excuse me..."
At the voice, Xiao's head whipped to your direction with eyes wide in surprise.
"Here- for you. Qingxin."
There was this bored look in your face, but Xiao could see the worry in your eyes. Worry? Were you worried about him? Xiao frowned at the thought but still took the flowers from your outstretched hand.
"Foolish mortal... you could have gotten yourself hurt. Climbing peaks just for qingxin..."
... But still a small smile graced his lips and your heart melted.
"Thank you."
You're the only person I recognize whose eyes resemble the deep blue ocean.
The words tattooed on his wrist always left Childe questioning about his soulmate and what led them saying these words. Somehow- imagining the possible scenarios always makes him melt. This string of words- it never fails him to bring a sense of comfort in his heart. Childe learns of yoir existance during a mission.
The mission was to assasinate a captain of the Knights- you. He observed you for days and took note how you're silent and alone for the most part but kind to the people who approach you- he almost feels bad for having to kill you. The day came when he had to kill you. It was supposed to be a quick kill- but he should know better. You were a captain for a reason, so you fought back. However, in the end, Childe was stronger as he wrap his hands around your fragile neck. Another second, he'd have you dead- until a child's voice cut through- your little brother. The way your eyes watered up at the sight of your only family. Seeing the hurt in your eyes, Childe's thoughts went overdrive- No- nonononono way I'm killing in front of a kid- He simply can't- he was reminded of his little brother, too. With a wavering will to disobey orders, Childe let you go and retreated to the night,
"Don't think this is the last time you'll see me."
Like a shattering glass- the words he uttered made your heart shatter like glass...
Childe saw you again, this time in Liyue. When your gazes meet- there was a shock that passed through with tension suddenly gripping your necks. Childe swore he hid much of his identity physically that night- but he knew you recognized him. He managed to corner you in Yuehai Pavillion by swooping into an empty seat right in front of you. There was a tense moment and an oppresive air. He noticed how your hands were ready to grab your weapon. "How did you recognize me?"
You carefully thought of your words. And when you did reply, Childe have never felt so much despair until today. "You're the only person I recognize whose eyes resemble the deep blue ocean."
Back before he knew you- these words always comforted Childe- but now? Childe felt chills in his spine as despair clouded his mind. Why would the universe decide to have person he was supposed to kill his soulmate.
Similarly, his heart also shattered.

I use the Doomsday war to my advantage, that just feels right.

Dark
Why is everything dark?
I-Why can't I see?!
Why can't I move my wings?!
Dad! Help me, I'm scared!
-

"Dad! Help me, I'm scared!" Tears rolled down my face as I clung to the tree branch, "Y/n, it's ok! Keep your eyes on me and jump." Philza yelled. You were playing hide and seek with your brothers and managed to get stuck in a tree, which is why you're in this situation. "W-What if I fall?!" I yelled back, my tears blurred my vision, the only thing recognizable to me was Phil's white and green bucket hat. "I'll catch catch you. I promise." He said, his calming voice relaxing me. You took his word of it and jumped from the branch, you expecting to hit the ground or Phil's arm at least but with a small peak you saw that you were flying. "D-Dad....I'm flying!" You yelled excitedly while Philza was clutching his chest as if his heart was about to collapse on itself. If you were to ask him about it today, he would say that it was the most stressful day of his life.
-

"Tech, c'mon!" You whined, as your brother payed not mind to the fact that you were bothering or well at least trying to bother him. "Y/n, for chirst sake stop annoying your brother." Philza said, he just wanted some peace and quiet in the house for once and you were the only thing keeping it from that. "Y/n, I've already told you that you can't go outside with me a night, you're going to get hurt." The pink haired piglin murmured, "I can protect myself, you know this." "No, is no." He said in a stern tone making you huff in annoyance.
"Go with him, I won't tell a soul." Wilbur's voice cheered, his red beanie rested lazily on his head as he leaned on the couch. "Thank you, I'll do your chores for 3 days." "Make it a week." "Fine." After that little exchange you ran out the door to find Techno.
Deep into the forest you silently trail behind your brother while hiding behind trees and bushes, upon hearing a sudden noise that surprised you, you turned around to see your brother nowhere in sight. Your breath quicken as you looked around the forest in panick, where the hell is he?, while walking through the forest you bumped into someone, "Techno! I'm so glad to see yo-AAAA!" You cut yourself off to find out that instead stood a zombie, you backed yourself into a tree which left you nowhere to go, as much as you wanted to use your wings it was useless since the zombie could just grab you. "I can't believe I'm going to die to a zombie-" You managed to say, your terror was short lived because Techno stabbed the zombie through the heart. "Techno, I'm so sorry for following you. I almost got killed and-" Your rambling was cut short due to the sudden hug from the piglin, "I'm just glad your ok, I don't know what I'd do with myself if you got hurt." He whispered, all you could do was cry into his never as he carried you home.
-

"Dad, I'm not six anymore, I take care of myself. Techno gets to move out, what about me?!" You yelled, it was anthor fight between you and Phil, it's been getting more worse everytime. "The difference between you and Techno is that he proved that he can take care of himself." Phil argued back making you more annoyed. "When did it become about proving something? All I'm asking you to do is trust me, when did the become so hard to do?!" You screamed, you were at your limit, you ran out of the house and flew up to sit on the roof.
You were left to your thought until you heard a familiar voice, "It's rough in there haha..." Wilbur said, he was trying to make you feel better but he mentally cursed himself for even saying that. "You know he's trying his best right?" He sighed, Wilbur took a seat next to you and stared at the sky. Phil, Tommy, Wilbur, Techno and you used to sit on the roof and talk about the weirdest of things while watching the sunset, but not that Techno left to love on his on it doesn't feel the same. "Yeah, but I wish he'd do the bare minimum and treat me like I'm seventeen." I mumbled letting out a deep sigh, "Well, just know that I have your back no matter what, ok?" Wilbur reassured, he put out his pinky finger and you did the same, "Ok..." You gave the brunette a small smile then turning your attention back to the sunset.
-
19
"Now you've done it ya lil shit!" You jokingly yelled, you chase Tommy around the living room while Phil was making dinner and Wilbur was writing a song in his book. "Dad help! Y/n is brutally murdering me!" Tommy yelled while Phil hummed, not paying any attention to the blonde. "Imbeciles! Everyone of you in this house, imbeciles!" The blonde chanted while everyone laughed at you piled your entire weight on the boy.
Later in the night you heard a knock on your door, you utter a gentle come in to see Tommy. "What's up bud?" You ask, you sat up to look at him, "You know how Phil is finally letting you go live on your own?" You hummed and watced the boy try to find his word. "I...I don't want you to go-" He said, his voice sounding shakes which alarmed you.
"Is that was this is about? C'mon, sit." You sighed and patted a spot on you bed signaling for him to sit. "I know that you're going to miss me but just know that you'll have to get used to not having me around, I'm sure Wilbur feels the same. I believe in you, big man." I said while ruffling his hair, his expression seemed like he still wasn't read to let go. "But what about when you wake me up when I don't want to get up? What about you kicking me under the table during dinner, what about when I need you to tell me that everything is find? What about-" He paused to collect his thoughts. "Y/n, what am I without you?" His words made me halt, "Yourself..."
-
Doomsday
"You chose your side Y/n, Techno and I chose ours." Phil spoke, his tone cold and devoid of care."But, I thought- I thought we were a family." I say, Philza only wince at my words. I look up at him, Techno, and Dream as they set off the TNT dropper, with little time I tried to fly away I kept missing the TNT only by a kiss and a prayer until, "Y/n look out!" Tommy yelled, I quickly look behind me see TNT about to explode, out of instinct I use my wing to shield me.
Dark
Why is everything dark?
I-Why can't I see?!
Why can't I move my wings?!
Dad! Help me, I'm scared!
Why is no one there?
Dad-No, Phil, Techno, Wilbur, Tommy.....where are you?
My body felt like it was about the give out, I was losing a lot of blood. "I guess this is how I die...Techno can't save me this time." I chuckled to myself, "I wonder how one of Wilbur's songs go... Jubilee Line, was it?" I paused.
"Wasting your time
You're wasting mine
I hate to see you leaving
A fate worse than dying
Your city gave me asthma
So that's why I'm fucking leaving."
While I was singing a voice called out to me, it seems like I was buried under a pile of rocks...cool I guess. A hand reached and pulled me out of the dark creavis, surprising me completely.
I didn't realize how relieved I was to not die until I stole a hug from the person that saved me, he smelled of blueberries and heaven he was wear a colorful hoodie and a sea foam green swirl on the front. "It's ok, everything will be ok." Even his soft voice resembled an angel, I cried into his hoodie an. The man hugging me whispered small reassurances as my tears stain his hoodie, in that moment I've never been this scared to let someone go.

okay I have a lot of opinions on neil’s hair?? for some reason??? so here
this is the most important one everytime I see someone say this I lose 10 years off my lifespan. neil is not a redhead. his hair is BROWN.
I don’t think his hair was badly dyed? like no one knew his hair was dyed until he came back from evermore without it. I keep seeing fics talking about his “obvious contacts and badly dyed hair” if his disguises were that bad he never would have made it 💀
curly hair. idc what anyone says this man has curly hair.
this might actually be the opposite of canon but I don’t think he ever dyed his hair blonde. I am a POC neil josten truther ‼️ I think he mainly dyed it varying shades of brown and black.
no he would not have dyed his eyebrows/eyelashes. he has brown hair 😃 so they would be dark enough to match with any hair color 😃
because he rarely ever bleached his hair it’s not badly damaged. like he’s a college boy I don’t think it’s the softest in the world because he def uses 2 in 1 but. it’s not fried 💀
I don’t think he cuts his hair post canon. like I see a lot of art with him having shaggy/longish hair in the first book and then having an undercut or whatever post tkm but. I personally think he keeps it longish. like I think he still likes hiding to an extent. also it’s cute.
I’ve read this concept in multiple fics but I don’t think he let anyone besides his mother cut his hair on the run. I’m not gonna get into my feelings on him and mary’s relationship cause we’ll be here all day but I don’t think he trusted anyone with scissors near his neck except her.
andrew’s the one that cuts his hair post canon 💕 andrew tries to get him to get rid of the shagginess and neil starts throwing clumps of hair at him. “I will stab you with these scissors” “I hope you find hair in your clothes for the rest of the year”
HE IS NOT A REDHEAD ‼️
#that’s about it 😌#aftg#neil josten#yeah. the redhead thing is one of my biggest pet peeves if it’s not obvious 💀#i wouldn’t normally care this much but I’ve seen people use that to try and disprove POC neil headcanons and like.#that’s not even canon 😭

Hi just binged read all your works and I love your writing! I wanted to request a scenario where the brother's react to an MC that has beautiful long hair that they always take special care of. Then one day MC comes home from school crying and her hair has been cut short and unevenly by some jealous demons at school. "I know it's stupid and it will grow back but, I just feel humiliated. I really liked how it was."
Awww hello there sweetie! I'm so glad to hear you find my works binge readable :') Thank you so much for the ask :3
And oof the angst is heavy with this one. I love it! I'll try and do my best.
Lucifer
He had always admired your long hair from afar and how meticulously you took care of it.
Sometimes when he patted your head for a job well done, he could feel how soft it was under his touch.
So imagine his shock when you enter the house with tear stained eyes, and your hair badly cut away.
"MC..." Lucifer approaches you calmly, "tell me who did this?" His demon form and gaze meant someone would be dying soon.
You cry and tell them about the demons at school. "It's only hair I know it will grow back but still..."
"It's not only hair. Having your hair cut without your will is highly disrespectful and scum behaviour." He holds and comforts you as you cry and disappears into the night after you've fallen asleep.
You never see those demons in class ever again.
Mammon
He thinks your hair is really pretty. Sometimes he'll just play with it lovingly whenever he was bored.
Even joked about it fetching a pretty penny if you decided to cut and sell it to which you gave him a death glare.
He regrets that joke now - as he sees in walk in through the door with your hair less than half in length and messy.
"Guess they had the same idea as you Mammon." You try to choke out a laugh.
"I didn't want this..." You try so hold back tears, feeling the loss of the length. Mammon anxiously pets your head trying to comfort you.
"I've got ya human. I'll definitely take care of this." Mammon promises.
Later on he comes home with a bottle of enchanted hair serum. "Don't worry I had Satan check it for any side effects. It will help ya hair grow back faster, human. So don't cry anymore okay?"
Leviathan
Wow MC you have anime protagonist style hair! So cool! He loved it when you tried on different styles, reminding him of new characters everytime.
Also absentmindedly plays with your hair whenever you both watch anime together. Was conscious at first, but now he was open with it.
When you walk in his room, with your hair cut and dishevelled like that, his demon form flares up. You try to weakly smile, "Do anime characters have this current hair like me?"
"Who did this MC?! Tell me and I'll summon Lotan on them!" He is so furious he is about to cry. He cannot seeing you in so much pain.
Later on, after dinner, he comes into your room with a wig. "This is the closest I could find to your original style. You can wear this until your hair grows back if you like MC!"
Satan
Also another one who loved to thread his fingers as you both read books together. He said you reminded him of Rapunzel, the long haired princess stuck in a tower.
It was a fun gimmick between the two of you where'd he say, "MC, MC, let down your beautiful hair."
And you'd flick it at him and he softly held parts of it together as you both laughed in glee.
So imagine his absolute wrath, when he finds you crying in the library with all your beautiful length gone and an uneven trim.
"Guess I can't be your Rapunzel anymore huh?" You try to appear happy but your red eyes give away the truth.
He calmly sits behind you, smoothening your hair with his fingers, in the same comforting way as before. "When the old witch found shout how Rapunzel and the prince were meeting, she cut off her hair, blinded both of them and exiled them. But she found her Prince either way."
The next day, he enchanted you with protection spells and hair illusion so it looked like your was still here.
And the bullies met the witches fate. Dead and forgotten.
Asmodeus
Out of all the brothers, he takes the best care of your hair and that's a fact. Is literally obsessed with how amazing you look with it.
Love that fact that you also take care of it. Sometimes he washes and styles your hair for you too. It's almost therapeutic for him.
When you walk into his room crying and he sees your hair in that state, he almost starts crying along with you in a state of frenzy.
"I just feel... humiliated." You cried in his arms. He pats your head, immediately bringing out a bunch of products and a pair of scissors.
"Let me fix that for you, darling. I'm sure you'll look just as pretty in short hair." He cuts and styles your hair to look so pretty.
Also the demons come into class the next day bald. Asmo charmed them into shaving their hair.
Beelzebub
Beel was honestly someone who simply didn't care that much about hair. It just thought it looks pretty on you when you tied your hair up for work outs.
The only close contact with your hair he had is when you got whipped cream in your hair while baking. He was about to nibble it clean.
When you come into his room with that state, he is generally confused. "What happened MC? Where did your hair go?"
"They cut and took it." You sniffled and rested your head on his chest. He immediately hugs you protectively. They? Who they? He needed to have a talk with THEY.
Asks Solomon and Satan, gets you fruits and foods that help with faster hair growth and measures the increase regularly.
Belphegor
He loved planting his face in your hair as you both slept. Your hair was always soft and smelled nice.
He had sweet dreams with you sleeping next to him. He love nuzzling into it like a pillow.
But the day, found you laying down and crying in your bed with half hour hair gone, be knew immediately what was up.
"Sleeping helps with hair growth. And stress is bad for it. Come let's nap. And then you can tell me which demons dared to do that to you." He pulls you in close and nuzzles your hair like before.
The demon bullies? Yeah noone knows where they went.

Trauma really does bond
The umbrella academy x teen!reader
Summary: It’s time for you to meet your siblings. But what happen when your introductions don’t exactly go as planned?
You were trembling as you walked behind Pogo and Grace. Its ironic, you’ve waited your whole life for this moment. To finally meet your siblings and expand your family. A childish hope of your siblings one day returning to the mansion and accepting you with open arms.
But now that you actually have a chance to meet them, you’re terrified. You realized that you have no idea how to talk to people. It’s different than when you talk to Pogo or your mother. These are complete strangers. No matter how many stories you’ve been told, how many times you read Vanyas book, you truly didn’t know these people. How were you meant to be a family? How are you supposed to-
“Y/n? Dear?”
You’re snapped from your thoughts by your mother calling you.
“Yes, momma?”
“Momma? Pogo, who’s that?”
You turn, again surprised by an unfamiliar voice. There she was. Alison Hargreeves. She’s beautiful.
Her hair is curly and blonde, with beautiful high cheekbones and glowing brown skin. Her as were kind even as she squinted at you skeptically in confusion.
“Alison, this is Y/n Hargreeves, or Number Eight. She’s your sister.”
Grace again gives you a light nudge, and you move in front of her. It was then that you realized that you are shorter than Alison, having to glance up to meet her eyes.
“My sister?” She looks at you in disbelief, “How come we didn’t know? This wasn’t mentioned by the press or anything...”
“Your father decided to keep our dear Y/n a secret.” Grace said wrapping her arm around you, “ She’s been our little secret for 17 years and 4 months.”
“A secret? But why? I mean, what was the reason?”
“Your father, believed that the world wasn’t ready for a new superhero. Nor was Y/n ready to face the world.” Pogo said with a grim face, “ He had hoped though, that one day he would be able to take her out...but it seems that for now, Y/n shall remain inside.”
You frowned, holding back tears at the thought. You didn’t know that your father had wanted to let you out, nor that he wanted to be there when you were. But, what truly upset you, was that you had to stay in the mansion. Freedom was at the tip of your fingers and you didn’t even know it.
“Stay inside? You mean she’s never been outside?” Alison said horrified.
“Well she has been out in the courtyard and such, but Mr. Hargreeves prohibited her to leave the premises. Nor was she allowed to be in contact with the citizens”
“She’s been here all alone?” Alison asks sadly, “ With no one to talk to? No one her age?”
“I’m afraid not” Pogo says sadly, looking at you.
You didn’t understand the big deal. Of course you were lonely, and wanted to explore the world, but you knew why you had to stay. You can just hear your fathers words.
“You have a duty Number Eight. A duty to your people and to me. It may not be ideal but sacrifices are hardly ideal.”
And everytime you thought about leaving, you’d remember his words and stay put. Besides you wouldn’t dare disobey your father.
Not after the last time.
“Well,” Alison says gently, leaning down to your eye level, “ Hello Y/n, I’m Alison Hargreeves, your big sister.”
Your eyes widened at her words as your heart filled with joy. For so many years you imagined those words. You wondered how this whole thing would play out, how meeting your siblings might be. And to hear Alison so readily accept you, it brought tears to your eyes.
“Hello, Alison” You say beaming as you carefully step forward, “ I’ve been waiting a long time to meet you, Momma says you live in California, what is it like?”
Alison smiles at your question, your demeanor like a small child. It reminded her of Claire...
“It’s very nice, maybe when we have time I’ll be able to tell you all about it.”
Your smile widens as you turn to your mother excitedly, she smiles back and says, “ That sounds wonderful dear, but you should go and change. You know the rules. You don’t want your father finding you in your night clothes, now would you?”
You furrow your brows,” Momma...”
“No buts now march” She says with a grin. You smile at Alison but see the worried look on her face.
“So she did notice how weird momma acting” You think to yourself. You stay in a daze as you walk towards your room. Worrying about your mother, grieving your father, and thinking about how you’re finally meeting all your siblings. Then as you turn a corner into the hallway that leads to your room, you’re knocked to the ground as you bump into a wall of a body.
“Ow!” you squeal as you hit the ground, rubbing the back of your head and peering up at the person you bumped into.
“Uh..sorry Y/n”
“Luther!” You shout, your pain overridden by the happiness you felt at seeing your brother, one that actually knows you exist.
He helps you up, which to him is like picking up a feather, and before he knew it, your arms are wrapped around his midsection. Luther awkwardly pats your back, not really expecting to be hugged.
“It's great to see you Luther! I read all your mission reports, or rather the ones that Father let me read. I always wished you good night though! Pogo always caught me looking at the moon with that telescope, I hope you don’t mind that I used it. It's just that I missed you so-” Your happy ramblings cut off by a Luther clearing his throat.
“Ahem...right, um hey Y/n, I gotta go...check on something.” He says gently pushing you away, “It was nice seeing you though.”
And with that he walks away, leaving you in the hallway as you stare at his retreating form.
“oh...okay then! I’ll see...see you later.” You say, disheartened by his brief acknowledgement. You sigh, walking into your room.
“I don’t know why I try...” You mumble to yourself. “ It’s not like he was ever happy to see me before.”
You go into your closet, trying to figure out what to wear. Usually, Grace picked out your outfits, ordered by your father, but she didn’t leave anything out for you today. So, you settled for a black turtleneck sweater, a black and white plaid skirt, black knee high socks with some mary janes. It wasn’t really your go to look, but you felt like it was appropriate given the circumstance. You let your hair loose, curls falling into your face as you let it out of the bun you quickly put it in.
You go to walk out of the room when you’re stopped by a gleam. You see the necklace your father gave to you after the incident. You stare at it, debating on whether you should put it on or not. You sigh, deciding to wear it, it was his funeral after all. You put it on, the cold metal never truly seem to heat up, the pendant heavy on your chest. You never grew attached to it. It just served as a reminder that you’re stuck in the mansion. You can never leave. Not until he let you and now...
You shake your head. Trying not to get into your thoughts, that's when you heard it. Little scratching at your window. You turn to see Despereaux, the little mouse you saved when you were younger. Ever since that day it was like you and him formed a bond.
You open the window excited to see your little friend.
“Hello Despereaux, it’s been a while since I’ve seen you.” You whisper as you let him climb on to your shoulder. “ you’ve missed quite a bit since I’ve last seen you. How about some cheese?”
You walk out of your room, Despereaux nestled on your shoulder. As you walk through the long hallways, you bump into another body.
“Ouch, again?” You whisper to yourself, rubbing your forehead.
“Hey watch it...teenage girl?” A male voice said in a perplexed tone.
You look up to see a man in some rather tight clothes and kohl ringed eyes.
“Hello” You quietly mutter with a soft smile. “I’m Y/n”
“You are adorable.” The man says, “ Where has the old man been hiding you?”
You blush looking down at your feet, you were never really complimented. Only by Grace.
“ Aww” The man squeals, squishing you to his body. He smelled like booze and sweat but the hug was nice, “ I have no idea who you are but I’m your uncle Klaus from now on.”
“You’re Klaus?” You say excitedly, “ I’m so glad to meet you!”
You wrap your arms around him, feeling the outline of something hard and metal in the back of his pants. You ignored it though, happy to meet another one of your siblings.
“Ugh it’s so nice to be around someone who isn’t a total stick in the mud.” Klaus says letting go of you, “ Like Luther, all that rage in that big body”
You giggle at his words and eccentric behavior. It was a stark contrast to the ridgid stoic behavior that you’re used to. Klaus’ grand gestures and silly nature was new to you.
“I’ve heard alot about you.” You say happily, “ Mama always tells me stories about how you used to steal her shoes and skirts and Father said--”
“Father?” Klaus asked, “ You mean ol’ Reggie bought you too? Or are you like..his offspring? Eww! I don’t want to think about that, shut up Ben.”
Ben?
“Father adopted me, I was born with powers like you.” You clarify for him.
“Huh, so he managed to create another trauma case before he croaked.” Klaus said in a light voice, “Well. I always wanted a little sister.”
You smile, glad that at least two of your siblings liked you. But what did he mean by trauma case.
“Anywho, I have some... inheritance I need to collect. I, will see you at the funeral, das Kind”
And with a wiggle of his fingers he was off, gone as quick as when you met him. Leaving you yet again, alone. You shrug off his odd behavior when you heard two voices speaking.
“ah no, not to my knowledge.”
“But..the spine is broken and there's notes in the margins.”
“ Yes, that would be the work of.. ah Y/n, there you are.”
You jump in surprise, although you should’ve know. You can never eavesdrop with Pogo around.
You walk down the stairs, slowly towards Pogo and.. Vanya!
Out of all the siblings, she’s the one you wanted to meet the most. She, like you was isolated in this mansion. You felt a connection to her as soon as you were able to pick up that book. Your heart raced as you made it to the final step, reaching the first flower and into the living room where Vanya and Pogo were talking. You can see that she is shocked, as all your other siblings were.
“Pogo, who is this?”
“Go ahead dear, introduce yourself. Just like you practiced.”
You smile widely, “Hi I’m Y/n Hargreeves, I love your book. I’ve read it almost five times now. You’re Vanya! I’ve been waiting to meet you! You look exactly like the picture on the back of the book! It really is a good book, I-”
“Y/n, take a breath. Let her get a word in.” Pogo chuckled, glad to see that you’re comfortable around Vanya.
“Oh, right. I’m sorry, father did always say I..tend to talk to much” You say looking down at your shoes. You didn’t notice the frown on both Pogo and Vanyas face.
“You...you read my book?” Vanya asked, still trying to figure out who you are.
“Yes, multiple times. It...well, besides the stories Mama and Pogo told me, this was the only way I got to know all of you.”
“Why didn’t you just come find us?”
“Oh well..I wasn’t really allowed outside”, you say glancing at Pogo, “ Father said the world and I weren’t ready for each other.”
“You mean, you’ve been alone...all these year?”
“No, not totally alone! I had Pogo, and Mama, and and father too. Plus there were the robots he built, although I did destroy them...and the books and and..”
“Y/n...that’s..that’s not..” Vanya stopped herself. She knew that this must be a sensitive subject for you. The way you listed everyone in your life was practiced. Like you’ve said it to yourself over and over again. And by the grim look on Pogos face, she can tell it wasn’t only you who was sensitive about this subject.
“Well, Y/n..perhaps you should go on in the kitchen and help your mother. Your siblings will be meeting here shortly, it would be nice if they had some snacks, don’t you agree?” Pogo says, forcing a smile at you.
“Oh! Okay” You beam, “ It was nice meeting you Vanya!”
And with that you scurry off into the kitchen, leaving Vanya and Pogo behind in silence.
“She’s been alone for...”
“For seventeen years. Yes”
“Pogo...”
“You know your father...once he made up his mind...there was little I can do.”
Vanya sighs and pats Pogo on the shoulder, “It’s good to see you Pogo.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You skip into the kitchen, seeing your mother humming at the sink. You walk up to her and notice that she’s cleaning the same plate over and over again.
“Hi momma!” you say suddenly
“Oh, hello dear. What are you doing in here?” Grace asks putting the plate in the drying rack.
Pogo said it would be nice to make snacks for my siblings” You ask, then feeling movement around your neck, “Oh and some cheese please.”
You forgot Despereaux was on your shoulder, its a wonder that no one has seen him yet.
“hmm snacks we can do.” Grace says with a smile. She goes to the fridge and pulls out some cheese.
“How about some cheese and crackers? Its simple.” she says, “ ans Despereaux here can have his fill as well”
You freeze, caught again by your mother, “ Thanks momma.”
You both giggle, and side by side you work on cutting the cheese and presenting the crackers. You feel a sense of calm wash over you. You usually do when you’re around your mother. She makes you feel safe.
“Ahem.”
You both turn to see Diego in the kitchen doorway.
“Diego dear, you startled us.” Grace said with a smile, “ Come help, we’re making you kids some snacks.”
He barely spares a glance at you.
“Pogo wanted me to come tell you that the meetings starting.”
“Oh, well go on darling, run along and I’ll bring out the snacks later.”
And with that she kisses your forehead and waves you away. She turns back to the sink and starts humming again.
You glance back at Diego. He’s glaring at the wall and to be honest you’re surprised he even waited for you. You pick up Despereaux and put him on your shoulder again, and grab some grapes and cheese then stuff it in your skirt pocket. Then you walk up to Diego with a small smile.
He glances at you and scoffs, then walks away. You have to jog to catch up to him.
“You uh, you walk pretty fast” You say huffing a bit.
He doesn’t answer you, he just keeps walking in the same pace. You stay silent as well, the trip to the living room longer than you remember.
You finally make it, and you see all your siblings in the room, spread out. You take a seat next to Vanya. You smile at her and take a glance around the room. Luther is sat at the couch across from you and Vanya. Allison and Diego are sat on some chairs, and Klaus is at the bar.
The six of you sit in an awkward silence until Luther clears his throat.
“ So I guess we should get this started.” He says standing up, “ So I figured we can have sort of a memorial service. At the courtyard at sundown, say a few words. At dad’s favorite spot.”
You nod along and hear Alison speak up, “ Dad had a favorite spot?”
“Yeh at the oak tree, we used to sit out there all the time. None of you did that?” Luther asks.
“Oh yeah, after training” you chime in, causing the adults to look at you. You heard Diego scoff again and saw Luther quickly furrow his brow then smooth out his face again.
“Will there be refreshments?” Klaus asks walking out from behind the bar, “ Tea? Scones? Cucumber sandwiches are always a winner.”
He goes to take a seat next to you when Luther speaks up
“What? No, and put that out. You know dad didn’t allow smoking in here.”
You roll your eyes. If you had to choose one thing to hate about Luther, you’d choose his insistent need to always be on your Father's good side. He can be such a downer sometimes.
“Is that my skirt?”
You hadn’t even noticed Klaus in the skirt. If you had to be honest, it did really suit him. You let out a small laugh, hearing Klaus mention his “bits”.
“Listen up.”
Oh boy, you’ve heard this tone before. You really forgot how stern Luther could be.
“There’s still some important things that we need to discuss alright ?”
“Um Luther” you squeak out, “ what more is there to talk about? Its not like Father had many friends we can invite. And his only family is us...”
“Yeah. The kids right, what else is there to discuss?” Diego asks.
You turn to him in surprise, this is basically the first time he acknowledged you unprompted. You send him a smile that, as expected, he ignores.
Oh well, small steps.
“ The way he died.”
“ And here we go”
You scrunch your eyebrows, “the way he died?”
Klaus sits next to you, throwing an arm around your shoulder as Vanya speaks up,
“I don’t understand, I thought they said it was a heart attack...”
“A heart attack?” You ask, realizing that no one’s really did tell you how your father died..
You’re question gained a suspicious look from Luther and confusion from the rest.
“ Y/n...you didn’t know?” Alison asked gently.
“ no one told me...” You say quietly, feeling nervous from the sudden attention.
“Well, According or to the coroner it was.” Luther continues.
“Well wouldn’t they know?”
“Theoretically..”
“Theoretically??”
You don’t understand. You don’t understand why nobody told you how your father died. You don’t understand why everyone was acting weird. And you don’t understand why Luther was bringing this up.
You feel a hand on your forearm, breaking you from your thoughts. You turn your head to see Klaus.
“ you lost in space?” He whispers playfully, “ I would be too, having to listen to Detective Daddy issues over here.”
You let out a small chuckle and whisper back, “ well technically we all have daddy issues.”
This earned you a quiet laugh and a pat on the arm. Then Klaus went to drink whatever was in his cup. And you tuned in again.
“ i’m just saying at the very least something happened. ” Luther says looking around the room, “ The last time I talk to dad he sounded strange.”
“Oh quelle surprise!” Klaus gurgles through his drink.
The rest of the adult ignored him, only sparing him a quick glance.
“Strange how?” Alison asked, continuing the conversation.
“ he sounded on edge”, Luther said, “ told me to be careful who to trust.”
He then gave you pointed look. You looked back at him perplexed, not knowing why he looked at you that way.
“Luther,” Diego chimed in, “ he was a paranoid, bitter old man who was starting to lose what was left of his marbles. ”
You frown at that statement. Sure your father was old and sort of eccentric, but his mind was sharp.
But come to think of it he was acting really weird the week before he died. He started telling you more about your siblings, about your place in the world and how you were meant to help it. He spent more time with you more than he ever has your whole life. He was, in his own way, nicer to you. Nicer in training, nicer on your free time, nicer in general. He took you out to the old oak tree more often, and just sat there with you, no lectures, no tirades, he just sat in silence.
It was almost like... like he knew he was going to die.
“I can’t just call dad in the afterlife and be like, “ hey dad can you stop playing tennis with Hitler really quick and take a quick call?’” Klaus says exasperatedly.
Oh right you forgot, he can talk to ghosts.
“ since when? that’s your thing.” Luther asks
“ i’m not in the right... Frame of mind!!”
“ You’re high?” Alison asks
“Yeah!” Klaus laughs, “ Who wouldn’t be listening to this nonsense. Right kiddo?”
He nudged you gently look at you for confirmation.
Your eyes widen and before you can even answer Diego cut you off,
“ Don’t bring her in this, she probably isn’t even know what being high is.”
You most certainly do. You’re not a child.
“ Look, just sober up this is important!” Luther demands , then continues on, “ and then there’s the missing monocle.”
“Who gives a shit about the missing monocle?” Diego mutters.
“ Father is missing his monocle?” You ask, getting ignored again.
“Exactly, it’s worthless.” Luther states, “ so whoever took it it must’ve been personal.”
The group starts to actually pay attention to him
“ Someone close to him, someone with a grudge.” He determines.
Wait...he’s not implying..
“Where are you going with this?” Klaus asks
“Oh, isn’t obvious Klaus?” Diego taunts, “ He thinks one of us killed dad.”
Luther grunts, but doesn’t deny his accusation.
The room goes silent as everyone tries to come to terms with what was revealed.
“ Luther...” you start sadly, feeling hurt and betrayed.
“You do?” Klaus asks in disbelief
“How could you think that?” Vanya chimes in
“ is it really that far-fetched?” Luther defends himself, “ I mean, it’s not secret how much you all hate him.”
“Luther.” Alison says sternly
“ That’s not fair accusation, there’s no evidence or anything...” you say defending your siblings, “ Besides, no one came home until today. Trust me, I’d know.”
But that just turned him on you
“ And where were you when he died?”
Your breath hitched, “ what?”
“ You’re the one who can heal people right? So where were you? Why didn’t you heal him?” He demands, “ Or did you let him die?”
“ Luther!” Alison shouts at him
You stay silent as you can’t think of anything to say. You already felt horrible about not being able to save your father. But yo hear it from Luther...
“I..” you start to say but get choked up. You feel the walls close up around you and the heavy gaze of these adults. You quickly stand up and run out of the room sniffing.
It was then that Luther realized what he just accused you of.
“Y/n wait..” he starts but you’re already gone by the time he spoke up. He turns to the rest of his siblings, facing their glares and betrayed looks.
“ Great job Luther.” Diego says sarcastically, “ Way to lead.”
And with that he walks out the room.
“That’s..that’s not what I’m saying”
“You’re crazy man. You’re crazy.” Klaus said getting up from his spot and grabbing his things. “Crazy”
“I..I wasn’t finished”
“ Okay, sorry I’m just gonna go get Y/n and have her help me murder mom.” Klaus sneers, “ You know, after I get her to stop crying, be right back.”
“That’s not what I was saying!” Luther says, “ I didn’t—“ he cuts himself off, seeing as everyone but Alison left.
Then she gets up to leave, but says this
“ That little girl has had it rough enough growing up here, she doesn’t need anymore from you.”
Then she walks out ignoring what Luther tries to say.
Leaving him all alone.
“That went well.”
Because I’m an angst-addicted ball of misery, is it okay if I request drabbles of Fuckboy!Atsumu and Fuckboy!Oikawa being the crush of the reader but she knows of how they treat other girls and doesn’t want to end up heart broken and since she’s shy and introverted, the boys barely know her aside from her being a classmate?
She tries to keep a simple distance away from them until said boys randomly show an interest in her and they start showing her attention, love, and treating her better than the girls they messed with until after a few weeks she overhears from them or their teammates that it’s out of pity/they were bored because Y/N seemed easy to mess with.
Y/N doesn’t let them know she overheard them, instead a switch is flipped and she’s emotionless around them and avoids them. When they ask why she’s like that, she simply says “I won’t let you hurt me like the others.” She basically treats them like they don’t exist (she’s friendly to everyone but them) and said f!boys regret it and bust their asses to fix everything between them (I read how you felt about full angst, so the reader just blocked their number, social media’s, and treat them like the plague until they prove that they truly love her or regret messing with her :) )
Hey, bub. Sorry for the slight delay! I hope you don't mind me making slight adjustments about the plot for my comfort 🥺 And uh... this drabble turned out to be a oneshot because I got carried away. I only did Atsumu's part which went over 3k+ works 👁️👄👁️ Anyway, I hope that you still like it. Have a good day, stay safe and hydrated! ♥️
never play with a girl's feelings. wanna know why? just read the title.
You stared at the back of Atsumu's head dreamily, your elbows propped on your desk as you basically ignored the world around you.
Contrary to the belief that noisy students always sat on the back, Atsumu and his twin were actually seated in front. Despite being in the middle of a class discussion, the two kept on chattering as if the teacher didn't exist. The teacher basically gave up already trying to shut them up since they never listened anyway.
You knew that she could've just sent them to detention but of course, who would do that to the miya twins? People almost worshipped them and your teacher wasn't excluded. Everytime she entered the room, you noticed how she would always cast a glance at the Miya twins and smile "politely."
The two, of course, took advantage of it. If it meant being able to get away with their noise by just simply smirking at the teacher in front of them, they'd do it. They already did anyways. They never did anything more than that though, and for some reason you were thankful that they never crossed that line.
You jolted up slightly when the bell suddenly rang, a loud yelp slipping past your lips out of shock. With your eyes widening like saucers, you felt your cheeks heating up when majority of your classmates turned their head towards your direction, some having a grin on their faces while the others having a look of displease.
However, their stare didn't matter as much as a specific person's did. A pair of brownish eyes stared at you intensely, his gaze so intense it was enough to make you almost squirm in your seat.
Feeling your heart rate picking up along with the shiver running down your spine, you looked down at your lap, successfully cutting your eye contact with Miya Atsumu - the guy you secretly liked despite being hailed as your school's certified f!ckboy.
"Make sure to finish all your requirements this upcoming weekend. You're all seniors so I have high expectations on your outputs, understood?"
With a series of "Yes, ma'am," the class was dismissed.
The room was filled with different noises - subgroups gossiping with each other, the footsteps of students hurrying their way out, the rustling of papers, clanking of chairs and the voices of the class representatives reminding the assigned people to clean properly.
It was lively, for them at least.
As for you, you preferred being alone. No, you weren't some weird nerd kid who acted as if they hated the world. Instead, you preferred categorizing yourself as one of those people who were naturally shy and introverted.
You don't really like crowds nor socializing. You've always opted on sitting by the corner, just enjoying the calmness silence brings you.
Grabbing your books from your desk, you stood up and made your way to the door, head casted a little downwards to avoid making eye contact with people, knowing that doing so will result to interactions, and who has time for interactions anyway? Certainly not you.
With the lack of paying attention, you failed to notice someone who was rushing their way out. Like a cliche movie, your body collided with them, the impact causing you to stumble backwards, loosening your grip on your books as they fell on the floor.
Luckily, the person behind you managed to catch you on time, their hand gripping the small of your back to keep your bum from meeting the floor.
"Whoa, there. Ya alright, princess?" spoke the familiar voice just behind your ear, his breath against your skin giving you small goosebumps.
Instantly, you jerked away. Turning around to face him, you bowed down while muttering continuous apologies. "Miya! I didn't mean to bump into you, I.. I swear. I was just walking out and then somebody j-"
Chuckling, Atsumu placed a hand on top of your head, giving your hair a small ruffle which eventually made you look up at him. "Calm down, I ain't mad at ya. No need to be so flustered."
With a stiff nod, you mumbled a small "Okay," before bending down to pick your books off the floor. You didn't fail to notice how your hands were trembling and you silently prayed to whoever diety was watching over you that Atsumu won't notice it.
"Yer y/n, right?" Atsumu asked as he bent down as well, one hand clutching your book as he let his finger trace over the name written on it. "A pretty name fer a pretty face like yers."
You wouldn't be surprised if he'd ask if you were doing okay because by now, you were a hundred percent sure that your face must be looking like a red tomato. "Thanks I guess," you said, giving him a shy smile before taking the book from his hand.
The small encounter was cut off by someone calling for Atsumu's name. Turning your head to the direction of the noise, you noticed Osamu walking towards you with a small frown on his face, one hand gripping the strap of his bag as he went on how they're going to have to run extra laps again if they ever got late for practice.
Atsumu only chuckled at Osamu before turning his focus back on you. With a cheeky smile, he booped the tip of your noise fondly. "Guess I'll see ya around, pretty thing. Careful not to stumble again, alright? Don't want another man catchin' ya."
With that, Atsumu went on his merry way, turning around one more time to send you a wink, chuckling as you gave him a slow wave before his figure disappeared from your vision as a mere dot.
"See ya later..." you whispered on thin air, lips unconsciously curling up as you stared at the direction he went off to. Once you snapped out of your daze, you bit your lip to stop yourself from squealing like a school girl in love.
Well, technically, you were a school girl in love, right?
That night, as you laid on your bed staring at your ceiling full of glow in the dark stars, you thought that maybe it wasn't so bad making conversations with people every once in a while.
-
The days went by pretty quickly.
At first, you thought that everything will be back to normal. After all, you never tried associating yourself with people. Your high school life was basically nothing but waking up early for school then going back home after class and then repeat.
However, something was strange. In fact, it was very strange. Not only were people trying to befriend you but the one and only Atsumu Miya was actually making an effort to talk to you, and to say that you were confused would be an understatement.
He basically didn't pay attention nor spared you a glance before, until that day you bumped into him.
You knew that it wasn't a good practice to judge someone based on what other people say but he wouldn't be called as your school's f!ckboy for nothing. He'd change his girlfriend almost every week as if he's only changing clothes, cruelly dump those who did not meet his certain standards and doesn't care even if a girl cries infront of him. Those are exactly why you tried not associating yourself with him nor his twin.
But there was something about Atsumu Miya that kept on drawing you in. You didn't know if it was his annoying piss colored hair, intense gaze, or the aura surrounding him. You couldn't help but wonder how someone like him, the exact type of person you swore you hated, managed to keep you attracted like a moth on to a flame.
It was weird.
And yet you loved it.
"Ya know y/n, ya kinda wound me," Atsumu said, plopping himself down beside you on the cafeteria.
With your hand clutching the chopsticks mid-air, you surveyed your area, noting how some heads, specifically the Inrizaki VBC's, turned to your direction. "Sorry, what do you mean?" you muttered as soon as your eyes met Atsumu's.
"I literally thought we're already friends when I saved yer ass from falling backwards," Atsumu answered before stuffing his mouth with an Onigiri, no doubt made by Osamu.
Placing your chopsticks down, you wiped your lips with some napkin before speaking up. "I'm sorry for asking this but... what's with the sudden interest, Miya?"
You were aware of how snappy you sounded, but in reality, it was your own defense mechanism acting up. Just how were you supposed to ignore him when it's he himself who kept on clinging to you?
"Hm, what do ya mean? Is it so hard to believe that I'm trying to befriend ya?" Atsumu tilted his head a bit to the side, his lips curling up into a smirk. "Why not try givin' me a chance, princess? That isn't so much to ask for."
You organized your now empty bento, placing it on the side before focusing your whole attention to the man in front of you. "I've seen how you treated girls before," you said with a low voice, averting your gaze from him to avoid melting into a puddle.
Damn stupid feelings.
"I see..." Atsumu said with a slow nod. "Then I guess that makes it more of a challenge."
Your eyebrows immediately furrowed upon hearing that, your curiosity spiking up at what his words meant. "Challenge? What do you mean?"
Instead of answering you, Atsumu just stood up, his bento in hand with the side of his lips curled up. "I'll see ya around, princess."
With that, you were left alone in your table, eyes still trained on Atsumu as he made his way back to the Inarizaki VBC's table. You watched as most of his friends chuckled while patting his back, some even sending a glance towards your direction.
Deciding that pondering over it would only be a waste of time, you stood up and made your way back to your classroom, failing to notice a grey haired Miya watching you.
-
You let out a small squeak as someone behind you reached for the same book you've been trying to get for almost 5 minutes now. Tilting your head back a little, you were met with an upside down vision of Miya Atsumu's face.
With your arms still raised in the air, you spun around to face him, your back flush against the bookshelf keeping you basically trapped. "Miya," you mumbled while looking up at him, one hand fisting the side of your skirt to release some pressure.
"Here," he simply said while handing you the book, obviously holding back from laughing at your flustered expression. "Don't worry, I ain't gonna try anythin' that would make ya uncomfortable. I was just passin' by and saw you strugglin'."
"And he even tucked my hair behind my ear!"
"He did that?" your cousin spoke from beside you.
Both of you were seated on top of your bed, legs crissed crossed as you gossiped about your interactions with Miya Atsumu.
For the past few weeks, you've been having encounters with Atsumu - in the cafeteria, in the library and even outside of school where he claimed that he was out to buy some ingredients for Osamu and only managed to bump into you "coincidentally". Name it and he'll be there.
With these constant encounters stirring up your feelings, you had to resort on calling your cousin for some girl time in order to save your sanity. Luckily, your parents had no objection. They were even happy that you were actually trying to open up to other people. It was only your cousin but according to your parents, "A small step is still a step."
Plopping your back on your bed, you grunted as you placed both of your hands on your cheeks. "Mhm. I just don't get it you know? He's basically this popular guy that plays volleyball, has a group of girls swarming over him and has the face and body that looks like it's been sculpted by God himself, and yet he's wasting his time on me."
You looked at your cousin with a small pout, one hand reaching out to poke her thigh. "Am I just overthinking things?"
With a breathy chuckle, your cousin laid down beside you. "Maybe? I can't really say for sure since I don't know this Miya guy except your description of him, but what I think is that you should give him a chance."
Hearing that, you laid on your side to face her, elbows propped up against the mattress as you rested your cheek on your palm. "Aila, have you been listening to me? He is a f! ckboy. Dangerous, treats girls like shit, and undeniably sexy. What if his sudden interest is only a one time thing? What if he's just messing with me?"
"And what if he isn't?" Upon hearing no reply, your cousin took your silence as her cue to continue. "What if people just labeled him as this so called 'f!ckboy' because that's what they perceive him to be? What if inside him is just someone who's vulnerable, trying to protect themselves from getting hurt by people so they end up hurting others first to save themselves from the pain? What if he's just waiting for someone who wanted to really know him, the real him? Would you really deprive him of that opportunity just because of what you hear from other people?"
"I... I don't know.."
"Miya isn't here to defend himself and I'm not trying to defend him, but don't you think you should at least give him the benefit of the doubt?" Aila smiled as she settled herself on a comfortable position. "Give him a chance, y/n. Everyone deserves to get one. It's up to him to prove whether he's worth the chance he was given."
You sighed deeply, letting her words sink in as you also shifted yourself on a comfortable position, raising your comforter up until it reaches just below your chin. "Then what happens if he isn't worth the chance he's given?"
With a hum, your cousin just shrugged. "Then you either forgive him and let it go or... give him the finger and tell him 'f!ck you' for messing with your feelings," she said with a short giggle.
"It's something only you in the future can decide. Goodnight, y/n."
With a thankful smile, you turned the lamp off as you whispered, "Mh, goodnight, Aila."
-
"Let's be friends," you said as you slammed a box of onigiri in front of Atsumu, a smacking sound resonating in the air making the rest of the boys look at your direction.
Even the sound of balls whooshing in the air stopped, replaced by the sound of them dropping suddenly on the gym's floor.
With his lips parted, Atsumu shifted his gaze from the onigiri, Osamu, Suna and you. "Ah..." he muttered as if he was just as shocked as you for having the guts to come inside the gym in the middle of their training.
Feeling your cheeks heating up out of embarrassment due to his lack of response, you looked down and started to fiddle with you fingers. "You said you wanted to be my friend and I kept on keeping my distance from you so I thought you might appreciate those onigiri as my peace offering." You scratched the back of your head before giving him an awkward smile. "A-anyway, that's all! I'll see you around, Miya!"
Atsumi could only watch you as you dashed out of the gym. Snapping out of his daze, he looked down at the box of Onigiri, smiling unconsciously as he noticed the sticky note posted on top with "Good luck on your practice, Miya! :))" written on it.
"Interestin'," Atsumu whispered before standing up, Kita's voice filling the air as he called the team back for practice.
-
It's safe to say that after that embarrassing moment, you became friends with Atsumu. You even became close with his twin because they were always with each other. It wasn't long then when the usual duo became three - Atsumu, Osamu, and you.
It was hard to adjust at first. Your female classmates would always glare at you and spout out some nasty remarks but the twins were always there to defend you. In fact, you even met the whole team and hanged out with them when you didn't have some academic tasks to finish.
It was fun, and you were thankful for your cousin who gave you the advise of giving Atsumu a chance.
But there was a downside on the situation.
Your feelings which you kept hidden for a long time was only growing day by day, and you were afraid that it was slowly showing signs.
How?
Everytime Atsumu was near, your heart would beat so fast that you felt like you just finished a 4 kilometer run. Your hands would become clammy, breath would hitch, and face would heat up whenever he teases you, and don't even forget to add that one time you literally froze when you spun around, only to come face to face with him - nose almost touching, lips ghosting against each other with only an inch keeping you apart.
You were playing a dangerous game and yet you had no intention of stopping, not knowing that it wasn't only you who had a secret.
Because Atsumu Miya was also playing a game - something much more dangerous than yours.
-
"Where's 'Tsumu?" you asked as you peeked your head inside the gym.
Kita, who was about to walk out, gave you a smile before opening the door wider for you to come in. "Atsumu's in the storage room. The twins made a mess again so I told them to go clean up before we start practice."
"Typical," you said with a short giggle. "Anyway, I'm just going to drop off Atsumu's hoodie that I borrowed last week. I'll watch over them while you do your business."
"That would be great. Thank you so much, y/n-san. Call me if something happens," Kita said, giving you a small nod before leaving.
As you entered the empty gym, you grimaced upon seeing something that looks like spilled milk on the floor. With a shake of your head, you made your way near the storage room sneakily in attempts of scaring Atsumu.
However, as you got closer, you heard two familiar voices. It was Atsumu's and Osamu's voice, and basing from the way they were speaking, it seemed as if they were in the middle of an argument.
"The fuck did ya say?" It was Osamu.
"I said I was only playin' with her. I mean, she's so easy, don't ya think? It basically only took me a couple of weeks and she came runnin' to me with that box of Onigiri, claimin' she wanted to be friends," Atsumu said, followed by a chuckle. "As if I didn't notice the way she acted around me. I'm telling ya, that girl is in love with me."
"And so, what if she is? That's not an excuse for ya to play with her feelings, dipshit."
Hearing Atsumu huff, you slightly backed away from the door, only to freeze when you heard his next words.
"Y/n is nothin' but a toy to me, somethin' I can dispose of when I got bored."
Biting your lower lip, you clenched the handle of the paperbag you were holding before running out with tears streaming down your face.
You ran as fast as you could, ignoring the worried looks you're getting from the people you were passing by. Even Kita was shocked to see you yet he didn't bother calling out, thinking that you might be needing some alone time for yourself.
You skipped class.
Throughout your whole Highschool life, this was the first time you skipped your class and it was a bummer that the reason was Atsumu Miya.
Stirring your strawberry milkshake from a nearby cafe, you thought about Atsumu's words, another batch of tears streaming down your face as you realized how pathetic you were for believing that he isn't what others say.
Maybe your cousin was wrong.
Atsumu Miya wasn't worth the chance he was given, because he only proved that once a f!ckboy, always a f!ckboy.
-
You blocked Atsumu's social media accounts.
In fact, you even blocked and deleted his number to stop getting in contact with him.
Even in person, you didn't bother paying him any attention unlike before. You stopped coming to their practices, stopped giving him food and stopped talking to him.
You basically acted as if he didn't exist.
It was hard because you knew that your heart belonged to him, but you had to endure it. You didn't want to give him the satisfaction for playing with you. You know your worth and there's no way you're going to let some f*ckboy ruin you.
"Y/n, would ya stop?!" Atsumu said as he grabbed your wrist, effectively stopping you from walking away from him any further.
"Get your hands off me, Miya. I don't wanna talk to you." You struggled against his hold, trying to take your hand back, only to fail when he tightened his grip.
"The hell's yer problem? What's with the sudden attitude? Yer basically ignorin' me and I don't have any idea what I did. Just tell me what I did wrong instead of actin' like a little brat." Letting go of your wrist, Atsumu groaned as he ran his fingers through his hair out of frustration. "I.. I don't like this."
You laughed, eyes squinting as you let out a fit of giggles before pointing at him. "You don't like this? Why not, Miya? I'm just a toy for you, right? So, I don't really get why you don't like this. Is it because you're not bored of me yet so you're not willing to dispose of me?" Crossing your arms over your chest, you looked at him with a serious expression. "Well, I'm sorry to say this but I'm not going to let you hurt me like the others. I'm not a plaything nor am I desperate like those girls pining over you. Have fun looking for a new toy. You're not worth playing with anyway."
That being said, you turned your back on Atsumu, ignoring the whispers that suddenly filled the hallway as the students parted some space for you, leaving Atsumu with his lips parted and feet frozen on the ground.
Serves you right, Miya.
-
Atsumu felt hollow.
With every passing day that you're ignoring him, conversing with people whom you never bothered associating yourself with before, the more he regret taking advantage of your feelings.
It was only supposed to be a game, nothing but a pass time and yet why did it felt like something was missing?
"I wasn't supposed to care," Atsumu said desperately while clutching his head in his hands, elbows propped on the table as he opened up to his twin. "F!ck...I think I like her, 'Samu."
"No shit, idiot," Osamu answered without taking his eyes off the stove. "I told ya several times to stop messin' with people's feelings and did ya ever listen? No. That's what ya get for bein' stupid."
Groaning, Atsumu rested his cheek against the table, facing Osamu's back. "Help me."
Slowing down from stirring the pot, Osamu looked at Atsumu through his shoulder. "Why would I do that?"
"Well, I'm yer twin. Aren't ya supposed to help me? Plus... y/n acts fine around ya." Atsumu sighed before sitting up properly. "I won't bother ya fer a week if ya help me out. I already did everythin' I could. Flowers, chocolates, even payin' attention in class just to impress them! Nothin' worked."
Osamu chuckled at the desperation and frustration in Atsumu's voice. "Deal." He turned the stove off, covering the pot before making his way to Atsumu. Sitting down, he crossed his arms over his chest while staring at the brokenhearted Miya. "Y/n is actually kind. Well, not until that moment she found out about yer stupidity. Have ya tried showin' her that yer willin' to change?"
Atsumu nodded. "I did. I even gave her the usual things girls like."
"I asked if ya showed her that yer willin' to change, not tried winnin' over her through bribery." When Atsumu didn't respond, Osamu let out a 'tsk' before continuing, "Just stop botherin' her and prove that ya regret what ya did."
"Easier said than done," Atsumu grumbled which earned him a smack on the head.
"Will ya stop bein' a sad boy already? I have a plan."
-
Its been two weeks.
Two weeks of no Miya Atsumu trying to apologize. Two weeks of no Miya Atsumu following you like a lost puppy while holding either chocolates or flowers.
Instead, what you were getting were these random post it notes on your locker, your desk, everywhere. Wherever you go, there would be random post it notes with various messages. Some contained cheesy quotations, the others short apology letters.
And despite how mad you were at Atsumu, you wouldn't be able to deny how cute the act was. Not only did he gave you space but also exerted an effort of silently letting you know that he'd be willing to wait for you.
You noticed how he stopped acting like a boss in class, opting to jot down notes instead of chattering with Osamu like usual. You also noticed how he stopped having a random girl beside him during breaks. Everytime you would pass by, no longer would he try to block your way and flick your forehead, but instead give you a hopeful smile before proceeding on his way wordlessly.
But what made you realize that he indeed regret what he did was that one time.
You were walking back to your classroom after forgetting your umbrella. The sound of the heavy rain tapping on the ground resonated on the empty hallways, the cold wind making you shiver as it whooshed in the air.
Wrapping your arms tightly around you, you entered your classroom, eyes widening as you saw Atsumu trying to fit something on the space below your desk while mumbling something.
Clearing your throat, you noticed Atsumu jolting up slightly before turning around to face your direction.
He smiled sheepily before scratching his nape. "I know it's yer birthday tomorrow so I was tryin' to fit this here. I guess there's no point hidin' it already since ya caught me anyway." Sighing, Atsumu picked up the fox stuffie and handed it to you. "Happy Birthday, y/n. I know yer still mad at me and ya probably hate me but I still wanted to give ya a present."
You stared at the fox in your hand, your fingers poking the fluffiness of the material as you fought back the urge to smile. "Thanks," you answered with a dismissive tone.
For a split second, it was silent, and you were aware of the intensity of Atsumu's gaze burning on your forehead, yet you refused to look up, knowing that once you did, you won't be able to hold yourself back and might just forgive him there and then.
"I like ya, I really do. I know I messed up big time fer taking advantage of ya and I'm sorry fer that. It was stupid and childish of me to think that the people around me are nothing but mere toys fer me to play with. I regret hurtin' yer feelings and I'll be willin' to wait until ya forgive me. Just know that I won't stop until ya do."
Hearing something rustling, you looked up and noticed Atsumu taking off his jacket. Within a few steps, he was already infront of you, draping his jacket over your figure. "I'll see ya around, princess. Don't get sick, alright?" Smiling, Atsumu gave your cheek a small pinch before heading out.
You were left in the empty classroom with nothing but the fox stuffie serving as your company. Atsumu's scent was swirling around you from the jacket you were given and at that moment, you haven't notice the single tear sliding down your cheek.
Because of all people, you never expected for Atsumu Miya to be the first one to greet you without having to remind them.
He was the first person you knew outside of your household to ever remember your birthday.
You hugged the stuffie close to your chest, burrying your face on top of its head as you let the comfort it brings envelope you.
-
You stared at the empty space infront, your head swirling as you thought of the possible reasons why Atsumu haven't been in class for three days now.
It's currently your last subject and throughout the whole day, you've been doing nothing but wonder where he was. You haven't asked Osamu about it yet since he was excused from the class due to the preparations for the upcoming match.
And so, the moment your class was dismissed, you rushed your way out, making your trip to the gym. You were thankful that they were in the middle of a water break so you had the chance to call out Osamu's name without having to worry about Kita.
"Y/n?" Osamu's eyebrow shot up upon seeing you. Suddenly, a knowing smile made its way to his lips. Standing up, he walked over to you. "He's sick," he said without even waiting for you to say something.
"Oh.." you muttered, shifting from one foot to another nervously before tugging at the hem of Osamu's jersey. "Do you... uhm, do you think it would be alright if I visit him after your practice? I wanna see if he's doin' alright."
"Alright. I think 'Tsumu would appreciate that. Why don't ya sit on the bench and wait a little for us to finish practice then ya can visit our house after?"
Upon hearing that, your face instantly lit up. You smiled at Osamu as you nodded.
Osamu only chuckled at you and fondly ruffled your hair, a habit he and Atsumu shared.
You waited patiently, and it wasn't long then when their practice finally finished. After Osamu took a shower, you both went on your way to their residence.
As you entered their house, Atsumu's voice immediately met your ears.
"'Samu! Cook me somethin', I'm starvin!"
You looked at Osamu who only shrugged as if he was already used to it. You took your shoes off and wore the slippers you were given before placing your bag on the couch.
"Our room is on the right. Go ahead and talk to him." Osamu said as he pointed on the door at the end of the hallway.
With a nod, you slowly made your way to their room, knocking softly before sliding your way in.
The first thing that greeted you were the mess of opened junk foods on the floor. Roaming your eyes around, you grimaced at the sight of empty water bottles littered around along with the volleyball laying on the ground.
Averting your eyes away from the trash, you looked at Atsumu whose back was facing you, his shoulder raising up and down evenly, indicating that he must be asleep.
Carefully, you walked claser and sat on the edge of his bed, your hand immediately feeling his forehead. "You're burning up," you mumbled, brushing his hair away from his face.
Suddenly, Atsumu's hand gripped your wrist, his eyebrows furrowed as he squinted his eyes. "Am I dreamin' or are ya a ghost?" he asked with a raspy voice.
"I'm not a ghost, 'Tsumu. I'm really here."
You watched as Atsumu slowly nodded before letting go of your wrist. "What're ya doin' here? I thought ya were still mad at me." Sitting up, Atsumu held the comforter close to him as he shivered.
"I heard you were sick. I'm no longer mad at you. I guess I'm still upset but I just can't hold a grudge against you forever, can I? That's not something I can do," you said with a shake of your head. "I really like you, you know? Despite your title of being a f!ckboy, I still fell for you. You were the first person I tried opening up to aside from my cousin. It's just a bummer that you ended up taking advantage of that vulnerability."
You felt Atsumu reaching out for you, his hand enveloping yours as he gave it a small squeeze. "I know, and I'm sorry. I really am."
"And if I give you another chance, will you prove me that you deserve it?" you asked as you looked at him, "I'm still hurt about what happened so I hope that if I give you this chance, you won't waste it."
"Yes. God, yes," Atsumu answered breathlessly, "I promise it won't happen again and I'll try to be better."
Suddenly, Atsumu wrapped his arms around your figure, pulling you on his lap as he settled his head on the side of your neck. "Thank you," he mumbled repeatedly against your skin, his arms tightening around you as if he was afraid of letting go.
And he never did.
Indeed, there was something about Miya Atsumu that kept drawing you in, and despite the bumps and dangers that came along your way, you didn't withraw.
Because as you closed the last page of your photo album eight years from then, you realized how right your cousin was alll along.
Atsumu Miya was worth the chance he was given, and he proved it to you every single day, sealing it with the diamond ring now resting on your left hand.
Y/F/N - Your Friend’s Name
It was a beautiful autumn’s day, crisp brown leaves were falling off of the large trees in the courtyard and scattering the cobbled ground. Loki and I had been wandering around for some time now, discussing everything from the books we’ve been reading to the dreams that have come to us in our sleep.
“And then this huge ghost thing was chasing me around the halls! and if that wasn’t weird enough, you popped up-”
“Ah, seeing me in your dreams are we, darling?” Loki chuckled, taking great pleasure at the fact that he had made an appearance in my subconscious, completely ignoring my distress at being chased by a supernatural being.
“Funny you should say that, right after seeing you, I woke up. The sight must’ve given me quite the scare.” I scoffed, a smile unable to stop itself from making its way onto my face, eyes meeting his, face etched with shock. With a hand to his chest, he spoke again in disbelief.
“You have truly offended me, love. I never knew you had this side to you.”
“What can I say? I’m a woman of many talents.” I winked, nudging his side slightly with my elbow.
“Really? Can you produce illusions?”
“No.”
“Look inside other people’s heads?”
“Well, no, but-”
“Turn yourself into a snake to scare your eight year old brother?”
“I still can’t believe you did that”
“My greatest achievement yet.” He smirked, the memory never failing to amuse him.
His stories always had me in awe of his capabilities, even if it was to give his brother a long-term fear, it was still an incredible talent. Whenever he tells me of his latest adventures or tricks, I always think of how well his title fits him. God of Mischief. Maybe that’s why I liked him much more than what a best friend should, not that I'd ever admit it. Not to him anyway.
We soon found ourselves standing next to one of the windows of the hallway, the crystal clear glass giving a beautiful view of the city of Asgard. From here, you could see the Queen’s gardens, full of flowers in all different colours and types, grass cut to perfection. You could see the families in the town, walking around the different buildings, children playing. It was lovely to watch, seeing everyone enjoy the seasonal weather and the light bounce off of the windows, it was ethereal.
“I never get tired of this.” I sighed, voice only slightly above a whisper
“Tired of what, love?”
“Just, this. This view, this kingdom, it’s incredible.” I looked up at Loki, trying to see if he was seeing the same beauty that I did. He was already looking at me when I met his eyes and upon seeing the way they sparkled, I assumed he did.
“Actually, speaking of the Kingdom, I have something to tell you. There’s-”
Abruptly stopping him from continuing his sentence, voices were heard from the other end of the hallway, though we couldn’t make out the words until they came closer. We gave each other a quick look of confusion before turning to see where the commotion was coming from, hearing the quick and heavy footsteps before being able to put names to the faces.
“Loki! Y/N!” A deep voice bellowed. Was that Thor making all of that noise?
Before I could process any more information, a blur of a pastel pink dress was in my face and hands were placed on my shoulders. I smiled down at the slightly out of breath figure using me as a support stand, it was Y/F/N.
“Wow, Y/F/N, you sound much different than when I spoke to you yesterday, did you drink something funny?” I chuckled, receiving a glare from my friend and a quiet laugh from the God beside me. Thor soon appeared next to Y/F/N, hands on his hips and head thrown back as he tried to compose himself.
“My God, Y/F/N, you run fast.” He pants.
“Care to tell us why you’re both running like madmen through the palace?” Loki speaks, one eyebrow raised in curiosity and what looked a little like concern.
“We..had to..tell you..there’s a ball..next week.” Y/F/N spoke, a bit more stable now, but still in between breaths.
I felt my eyes widen, a ball? I didn’t know Asgard held balls.
“Father is opening up the palace next week to neighbouring kingdoms, in hopes to be closer with them, open Asgard up to more trade opportunities, build relationships and whatnot.” Thor explained, emitting a loud sigh to come from Loki.
“I was just about to tell her, brother. Thank you for interrupting.” He rolled his eyes, half joking, half serious. I reached up and patted his shoulder gently, a small smile on my face.
“Maybe next time Lok” He nodded in response, I didn’t get a chance to comfort him much more before I was being pulled away by Y/F/N. With a small huff of surprise, I gave Loki a glance, silently apologising for our conversation being cut short, receiving a shake of his head in reply, affirming me to not worry about it.
“So.” she begins. “We need to find you a date and a dress. I’m thinking blue. I’m wearing purple so it’s probably best to avoid that one. Hmm. let’s see..oh! I know! we could- Y/N? You listening?” I snapped my head around, not missing the sly smile that was plastered all over my friend’s face.
“Y/F/N, don’t-”
“Loki! He has to be your date. You could wear green and match! If he’s even going to wear green, I'm sure I can get Thor to find out, I assume they’ll get ready together. And black accessories! I have so many ideas.” She clapped her hands, over-excited about the opportunity to plan this evening for us. Except for one minor detail.
“That sounds great, Y/F/N, it sounds wonderful, you’re just missing something.”
“Missing something? Oh, if you mean our hair then i’ve already-”
“No, not our hair. Loki hasn’t asked me, and I doubt he will.” I spoke, the second half coming out more as a whisper, my heart dropping a little at the thought. He’d never really expressed having those kinds of feelings for me and I'd always seen him be close with different girls around the palace, he’ll probably ask one of them.
“He might ask you, you never know what’s around the corner.”
“I guess so, we’ll have to wait and see.”
And that was the last we spoke of it before she went into full planner mode again, while I continued to ponder over all of the thoughts running through my head. I mean, he could ask me, right?
--------------------------
He didn’t.
After talking about it with Y/F/N, I had a glimmer of hope that maybe I was wrong, maybe I hadn’t noticed something that she had, that Loki would approach me and ask me to be his company for the evening.
I spent the next couple of days with him, hoping he would ask me, everytime a pause would appear in conversation, maybe he was finally going to do it. And everytime, a little bit of the hope I had, had fizzled out.
I’d even considered other reasons as to why he hadn’t asked, maybe the King didn’t want him and Thor to have dates so that they could mingle with members of the other kingdoms. Of course that theory had flown right out one of the Palace’s windows when Y/F/N told me that Thor was going to be her date. I was right then, he wasn’t wanting to go with me.
I guess I understood, I’m the best friend, we’d always been that. I think a part of me just thought that maybe he, like me, wanted something a little more. Clearly, I was mistaken.
Y/F/N and I had been getting ready for a while now, our hair was styled to perfection, our dresses were on and both of us were fully accessorized. We were looking at ourselves in the mirror, doing spins and curtseys and gushing over how good the other looked.
“You look amazing tonight, Y/N, really. Loki is missing out.”
“Thank you, and I'm sure his date is beautiful.” I spoke, fidgeting with the fabric of my dress, trying to avoid the subject and the twisting knot in my stomach at the thought of him with someone else all night. “You look incredible! You were right to pick purple, it’s definitely your colour.”
“Y/N’s right, you look gorgeous.” Thor declared, leaning against the doorway sporting a black suit and a dark purple tie, the perfect match with his date’s dress. I could feel my eyes light up when seeing how happy the simple, yet effective comment had made Y/F/N. Rushing over, she engulfed Thor in a hug before leaning up slightly and giving him a peck on the cheek.
“Ah and can’t forget, Y/N, you look stunning tonight.” He gestured to me, arm almost scanning me up and down.
“Stop, you’ll make me blush.” I laughed. “You both head off, I’ll catch up.”
“Are you sure? We don’t mind waiting?” Y/F/N questioned.
“Don’t be silly. You guys go on ahead, I'll meet you there.”
With a nod and a wave, they were off. They really did look like a perfect match tonight. I continued to look at myself in the mirror, fixing any stray hairs, flattening any kinks in my dress. Realistically, I was probably trying to prolong leaving for as long as I could. I was excited, but I was turning up on my own while everyone else had someone, it was a bit nerve-wracking. I still wanted to look my best though.
“Stop trying to convince yourself that you look good, you could literally blow an army of men away by looks alone.” A voice spoke, I spun to see who was speaking, the flash of green was enough to decipher who it was.
“You look lovely tonight, darling.” He grinned, the pet name had set off butterflies in my stomach.
“Thank you. As do you.”
“Well, I did put in an effort, nice to know it’s appreciated.” He joked, a breathy laugh left my lips, entertained by his words.
“Yes, well, I'm sure plenty of others will too.”
“The eyes will never leave me, I'm sure. Unless they’re on you, then I'd be surprised if I get even so much as a glimpse in my direction. Someone is a very lucky guy tonight, that’s for sure.”
“Why do you say that?” I asked, confused by his statement.
“Well, they get to be beside you all evening, it’s a beautiful view.” He winked.
It could’ve been you, I thought. I knew he was joking, however that didn’t stop the fire in me from igniting.
“I could say the same for you, someone is a very lucky girl.”
“I’ll be sure to let her know if she ever thinks otherwise.” Joking, again.
So he had asked someone. Albeit disappointed, I'm happy he’s happy. Though I still wish I was the girl in question, I couldn't stop him if he was interested in someone else. That wasn’t fair.
Giving him a brief nod and a tight lipped smile, I picked up the front of my dress a little bit and made my way out of the room and downstairs to the ball. I could still enjoy myself, the night is young, I've got this.
------------------
“It was crazy! And let me tell you, my dad was so angry with me. He didn’t let me serve Turkey again after that year.” Charlie, a guy that I had met an hour or so ago, finished his story of the Christmas horror he had, allowing me to relax for the first time that evening. Up until now, it had felt like all I’d seen was either happy couples, or stares from across the room. Usually the second and usually Loki. The same Loki who had a girl’s arm linked with his and was looking at him like he held the world in his grasp. I broke the gaze, finding it difficult to look at the pair for any longer, as I turned back to Charlie so he could have my attention again, a lazy smile was present as he took a sip of his wine.
“I don’t blame him, really, it sounds like you started a riot!” I exclaimed, sending us both into a full on belly laugh, thinking back to the story. This continued for another five or so minutes, laughter turning into a low chuckle, as if we were about to be told off for how loud we were being. Just as my hand had reached his arm to help hold me up, saving me from laughing myself into the ground, Loki and his date had made their way over.
“Enjoying ourselves, I hope?” He beamed, taking one look at me before giving his full attention to Charlie.
“Yes, yes we are, thank you. How about the two of you?”
“Ye-”
“It’s been fine, yeah, good. So, what’s your name then?” Loki interrupted, his date having no choice but to leave him to respond instead.
“I’m Charlie Fernsby.” He held his hand out, greeting Loki. A gesture that was very awkwardly not reciprocated as he let his hand fall back to his side before Loki spoke up again.
“Charlie..Charlie, now, isn’t that a girl’s name?”
“Loki!” I scolded, giving him an evil side glance, what was he doing?
“No, no it’s okay. Yeah, it can be used for girls too, but it's common for boys to have the name Charlie.” Polite as ever, he responded. A mischievous look made its way onto the God’s face. Oh no.
“So, I take it your parents wanted a girl?”
“I- I’m sorry?”
“I assume your parents wanted a girl, considering they’ve given you a girl’s name?” I rolled my eyes, this teasing was unnecessary.
“Charlie, let’s go and get a drink.” I tried to tug him away, only to be halted by another sentence leaving my best friend’s mouth.
“It was only a question, I'm sure he doesn’t mind answering, do you Carl?”
“Charlie.”
“That’s what I said.”
“You said-” I tried to interject, but he was quick to stop me
“I know what I said, Y/N, but I'm speaking to him. Let him answer the question.”
Loki’s date was long gone by now, she’d left to speak to another group of people, presumably another few couples, leaving us three to have this discussion, thing, whatever you would think to call it.
“I’m just saying, maybe they would’ve preferred a daughter, seeing as they’ve very obviously made that clear.” He beamed, expecting me to join in and agree with him, I don’t find this funny. At all.
“Can you excuse us, Charlie? Loki, A word.” I pointed to the door, giving him a look implying for him not to test me.
“I’m in trouble. Wish me luck Carlos.”
“Charlie.”
“I know, that’s what I said.”
I pushed him all the way out the door, into the hallway and round the corner so as not to disturb everyone else’s evening. When I’d made sure there was no one else around, I looked up at the Asgardian, my arms crossed, eyebrows furrowed, I wasn’t impressed anymore.
“So, are we out here for some hide or seek, or?”
“What the hell was that in there?!” I raised my voice slightly, his need to always make everything a joke wasn’t working this time. He had his night, his date, he didn’t need to come over and insult mine.
“What was what, darling? I was making conversation.”
“You were making fun of him.”
“No, I showed some concern about his parents choices, that’s all. Friendly advice if anything.” He looked a bit more frustrated with me now, as though he was stating the obvious and it was going over my head. I wasn’t having it this time.
“No, Loki. You weren’t and you know you weren’t. You had your date, she was fine, you were fine-”
“Well-”
“Let me finish. Everything was fine. Until you caught sight of me having a friendly conversation with another guy who wasn’t you. But guess what Lok, I’m allowed to do that! I’m an adult, I can speak with whoever I like!” My arms were all over the place now, my frustration was starting to show itself, it seems I had a bit pent up.
I saw his lips move, I heard something, but it was so quiet I couldn't make it out.
“Speak up, Loki. I can’t hear you.”
“I said, if you think he was just being friendly, you’re clearly out of your mind.”
Is he serious?
“Are you- Loki, you have no right to make a judgement on who and how and why I interact with other people. Not that it should matter to you anyway, you’ve spoken to other women before and I've never said a word or tried to stop you. Why does this matter so much?”
Silence.
“No, please, go on, tell me, enlighten me as to why this bothered you so much tonight, because trust me, I'm dying to know, truly.” I was shouting now, I just wanted answers for his behaviour, I didn’t think it would be this difficult.
His hands had made his way into his trouser pockets, eyes looking everywhere before settling on mine. He looked conflicted, I wanted to drop it when I saw his troubled gaze, but I couldn’t go back in there without an explanation.
“Ple-”
“I like you, okay? Is that what you wanted to hear, love? That I was so uncomfortable seeing some you get close with some guy that I had to embarrass him in front of you? Something I'm sure my father won’t be so impressed to hear, but there, you’ve got your confession.” His voice had gone much louder than mine, taking me by surprise, so much so that it took me a minute to process what he had said. He liked me?
He turned to leave, I assume because I hadn't said anything for a matter of minutes, but I gently grabbed his arm, tugging him back towards me. I looked up into his eyes again. I was so close that you could see the specs of different colours spotted in them, they were flawless. This view beats the Asgard view anyday.
“Why didn’t you mention this before?”
He shrugged, “I don’t know. Worried I guess. We’d never spoken of moving past friendship and I didn’t think you’d be interested.”
“I’m more than interested, Loki.” I grinned, my smile meeting my eyes, never leaving his.
“Not Chelsey?”
“For the love, it’s Ch-”
I couldn’t say his name, a certain pair of lips had stopped me from doing so. As they molded against mine, my hands went up to tangle themselves in his hair, his hands falling to my waist and pulling me closer, I didn’t even think that could be possible. We pulled away when we needed to catch a breath, foreheads falling against each other, smiles painted on both of our faces.
“I bet I'll be in your dreams again tonight.” He whispered.
“I bet I'll be in yours.”
“Always are, Darling. Always are.”
Soojin x Reader
Requested by : anon
Library Peace 🔞
There was no word strong enough to describe how you hated having to do group projects but there was one for how much you hated the partner you got paired with : to death.
Soojin was definitely your worst nightmare since the really beginning of times. She was the type of person to think her opinion was better than other's just because it was hers. You were polar opposites in all aspects and weren't eager to interact or even acknowledge each other's existence.
There was literally nothing you could rely on in her that would make her more likeable in your eyes. And even if there was you weren't sure you wanted to see it, you were fine with hating her, it was helping you be better at everything. Because everything was a competition of ideas and values between the two of you.
As you entered the library, you didn't know if you were glad she wasn't there yet or pissed because she was already wasting your time. After waiting few minutes, your foot shaking from impatience, you decided to just go ahead and do the work on your own.
If this girl didn't care about marks and bonus points you sure did and weren't about to loose any for her.
You started looking for the books you'll need, rummaging through the shelfs to get every book out. It's only when you got to the last section that you understood why you were struggling so much to find what you needed.
Soojin was standing there arms full of books, some even opened at some specific pages, she was looking for the last like you were about to.
Saying you were pissed wasn't even a quarter of the truth, you were fuming. The bitch literally made you wait like a fool while she was right there doing everything by herself.
Yes you did attempt to do the same but you had the decency to pretend to wait for her, you tried when she clearly didn't, it probably didn't even cross her mind.
Busy reading two books at the same time, Soojin didn't even spared you a glance until you shut one of your books close and even then her glance was fast and unbothered. Her eyes got back to the paper as fast as they took a look at you.
"Someone else took the last book, we'll have to start without it."
Soojin's voice was surprisingly calm and almost gentle, not that you would know how her voice normally sounds like, you tend to avoid listening to anything that could pass her lips.
The realization that she was actually ready to co-operate was making you feel slightly guilty to have judge her actions that you knew nothing about, so easily. Yet you were fast to remember who you were talking about and how annoying she has been in the past. A single slightly polite act would never change how irritating she was.
You ended up following her because even though you'll love spending your time cursing her in your mind you still had an essay to write and you weren't ready to let her get a better grade than you.
In the end having twice as much books as needed was the minimum because you couldn’t imagine how it’d went if you had to share and get closer to Soojin to be able to read.
Maybe you talked too fast and karma is indeed a bitch because not even fifteen minutes later the librarian was making her way to the both of you and asking you to give back the extra copies because other students needed them.
Seeing that Soojin wasn’t willing to move, you were the one making the sacrifice, giving her the books.
You tried to work only using your sheet of paper and what you already wrote but of course you couldn’t just passed out on writing the quotes and understanding the context. After a minute you abdicted.
“Could I borrow one of your books please ?”
Soojin took her time finishing to write her sentence before looking at you in the eyes and answering simply.
“No.”
Even though you knew she wasn’t someone nice on a regular basis you were astonished by her answer, she clearly didn’t give a fuck about doing the work as a pair. You were ready to just leave when she added somehing.
“But you can sit beside me. I won’t bite you.”
You sighed, but did stand up to sit beside your rival.
“If that sigh was about the no biting part, I’m all about changing it, I wouldn’t mind biting down that neck.”
That was unexpected, you thought and terribly sexy in a way. You wouldn’t deny that Soojin was extremely beautiful and exactly your type, long black hair, dancing skills given by god, overflowing confidence, tattoos and so on.
Without you knowing your cheeks had reddened at the thought of how physically perfect Soojin was, that lustful glance Soojin was giving to your exposed neck wasn’t helping your horny mind either.
You tried to remember why you hated her so much but when her fingers met your tigh your mind was suddenly blank. She wasn’t even doing much but you were already embarrassingly wet.
On the other hand Soojin was perfectly and terribly calm, way too calm compared to how crazy this situation was. She looked unbothered and even when her hand got from above your knee to your inner tigh, she didn’t even look at you as if it was completly normal for her to touch you that way.
As much as you internly claimed that it was crazy, you had no intention in stopping her. Sure she was your ‘ennemie’ but maybe the ‘hate’ you seemed to feel towards her was nothing but frustration because you were sure you couldn’t have her.
Her hand making her way inside your panties was telling you otherwise though. Seems like you actually could have her but this realisation hit you enough for you to grab her wrist and stand up, making her turn to you.
“What are you doing ?”
Soojin looked at you confused before answering.
“What does it look like I’m doing ? Because I thought it was pretty clear until now.”
“Well yes I know what you’re doing but why ? Aren’t we suppose to hate each other ?”
Soojin escaped a laughter and stood up, taking a step closer to you in the process.
“Oh yeah ? I don’t remember agreeing to that.”
“Well you did get back at me everytime I say something though.”
“I thought we were just flirting.”
“Oh...”
Saying you were shocked would be an understatement, she didn’t hated you. You didn’t get to think much more, stopped by lips crashing on your own. The gentle kiss didn’t last long, Soojin breaking it to look at you. Her arms were on both sides of you, caging you between her and the bookshelf.
“Can we go back to what we were doing now ?”
“Yes.”
The word escaped your lips before you could process anything and you couldn’t think about it after because Soojin’s tongue was asking entrance in your mouth and that was way more captivating than thinking right now.
Soojin didn’t even needed to fight to be the one dominating the kiss, everything seemed way too unreal for you to take the lead. Yet you weren’t mad about it, her tongue was dancing the sexiest dance ever with yours.
You were wondering if someone could see you even though you were in a pretty secluded area. A thought that was cut off once Soojin’s mouth began traveling down your neck to your colarbone, letting a moan escape your mouth as she bite you.
The hell did you care about being seen, right now the only thing that mattered was Soojin fingers playing with your clit while her mouth was playing with one of your nipple.
You didn't even remember when she unbuttoned your shirt but she sure did and was now enjoying seeing and touching your breast.
The rhythm of her fingers over you clit was terribly slow not letting you reach orgasm the slightest bit. Well that was until she finally decided to slip a finger into your dripping core earning a loud moan from you.
She stopped her movements to scold you.
"We are in a library, you should know that you cannot scream here baby. I'm the only one who can hear you moan and whimper under my touch, understood ?"
Your mind was messed up, you just wanted to cum so you nodded wanting her to keep going at all cost. Which she did.
Not even minutes after she got back to pleasing you, she had to muffle your voice as you cummed all over her fingers.
Her hand circled your waist keeping you from falling while she was putting your shirt back on and straightening your pants.
She didn't talk until your breathing calmed down, wanting you to be able to respond to whatever she was about to say.
For some reason now that you were looking at her you noticed how she wasn't that confident anymore.
"I.."
You cut her off by kissing her, something you madly wanted to do since earlier but didn't had the chance to.
The kiss took her by surprise, shading her cheeks in pink. You didn't know what the sudden shyness was about but you did find it cute that after giving you the biggest orgasm your friennemy was suddenly becoming shy.
"What was that about ?"
"I thought that was pretty clear what it was about, I kinda like you."
Hey, here it is finally ! I made it slightly longer than expected but I had to put Soojin's duality in it, hope you like it 😁🤞 Give feedback. -Ael
lee suho boyfriend headcanons.
listen to love so fine by cha eunwoo.
˗ˋˏ author’s note ˎˊ˗
i shall ignore kdrama suho and it’s all about webtoon suho. it’s finally time for me to (hopefully) do him some justice when tb writers decided to make him...like that. i tried to focus on different things from seojun. hope you will enjoy it. feel free to talk to me about any headcanons!
suho is all about nagging you about your health and studying, making it seem like he is harsh and blunt, but his eyes always soften after. sometimes he pushes too hard and it can hurt, but he realizes his mistakes early on and learns from them. he doesn’t make them twice, ever.
since he is used to being alone, he still gets little spooked by incoming messages and calls. it always makes his heart melt when you call him just to tell him you wanted to hear his voice and that you are bringing some snacks while he studies.
at first, he is little unsure about texting, is he bothering you? does this sound too bland? should he add some emojis? but he never uses them, so will you be creeped out? he is the king of overthinking for no reason.
looks up so many date ideas and creates folders on his pc for them. and he learned the hard way about asking people on the internet for advice.
suho does the whole gentleman shebang - opening doors, pulling out chairs, walking on the side closer to cars,... people look at him with heart eyes wherever you two are because he is so prince-like, but he is focused on you and ignores it.
but suho is not all prim and proper, he knows how to tease once he is comfortable (and to ever date someone he has to be).
since webtoon suho is taking cooking classes, imagine this. suho teaching you how to cook, him being all focused and explaining in simple terms and looking out for you so you don’t cut yourself, while you get dazed by the visuals and his calming voice. before you know he is looking at you and asking if you are listening (even though he already knows the real answer). “once more than, but i won’t repeat it again.” he says and steps behind you showing you how to safely cut the onion. (he knows it’s sort of a low blow, but he can’t help himself)
asking suho for pads or tampons is such a funny thing. he has a poker face throughout but inside his mind, there are sirens and alarms blaring. he agrees right away and listens tentatively for what to buy and comes back with the crazy amount and pink cheeks because the ladies in the there cooed at him and gave him tips (more than he bargained for). he has a hard time meeting your eyes for a few minutes.
suho does a lot of things with a poker face but internally screaming. he had a whole plan for meeting your parents, but then your parents just decided to show up without calling you and he was severely underprepared with your pink frilly apron on and his bangs up because they’ve gotten too long. you had to jump in and save him, but he still has nightmares about it.
suho enjoys all domestic vibes he can. since he didn’t get to enjoy them while he was young, he wants to have a fill of it now. if you sleep over he likes to braid your hair and play with it while you are watching movies together, bonus points if it puts you to sleep he melts inside and just carries you to bed and looks at you for a while, pushing the little hairs out of your face. (definitely teases you for drooling on his pillow in the morning, because he can be cute AND savage, it’s a package deal.)
your favorite thing is when suho gets so serious talking about ghosts or aliens and horoscopes. he throws scientific studies and numbers like it’s nothing and moves so animatedly. you zone out halfway through but keep on smiling at him like an idiot because he is just such a dorky nerd. (just for the fun of it sometimes you send him his daily horoscope and when it comes true suho gets huffy lol.)
he is big on forehead kisses and hair kisses. arm over your shoulder and soft smooch into your hair. doesn’t get embarrassed by pda (but he has limits - holding hands, pecks, hugs,... but no make-out sessions outside.) he is a private kinda guy.
somehow he always knows what you need and has it prepared. be it notebooks, pens, sweets. he definitely stocks up on sweets for you but he doesn’t let you overeat ever. his main priority is your health.
even though i say he is a softie for his lover, he doesn’t bend rules for his lover often. the sweets things is one of them. but he still changes throughout the relationship, before he was a lot harder on himself, but thanks to his significant other he learns to stop being his own worst enemy, he starts enjoying being more spontaneous and let loose.
suho doesn’t date without thinking about the future. he wouldn’t waste time with someone he couldn’t see having a future. not that i’m saying he is thinking about marriage but … yes i am. this ties to the domesticity, when he feels like these everyday things feel so good and fun he can’t help it but feel fuzzy inside. he wants to be the best for you, he would never let himself become like his father.
also imagine reading sessions. sitting on a couch, your legs over his lap and his hand resting on your knee, while you sneak peeks over your own book. this often leads to cuddle sessions where you talk about the books you read and fall asleep in each other’s arms. being lazy and letting time fly.
living with him would be a dream because he never skips on doing chores but also always makes sure you don’t forget them either. (sometimes you wish he won’t remember to tell you, but he does EVERYTIME without fail. but there are times where you just don’t have the time and he does your half of chores as well without telling you, after you come back and panic about chores, he just pats your head and tells you not to worry about it.)
i feel like since he has quite a bit of time, he would maybe consider having a pet (if you ask he can’t say no honestly). i think he would start off tame, with maybe a hamster and he would read up all about taking care of it. and seeing him playing with the hamster is truly a highlight, he even lectures it if it bites him or you (when he thinks you can’t hear him that’s it.)
The Vengeful Deceiver - Teen Wolf Fanfiction
Scarlett Black, she has been a vampire for 8 years and now forced to go back to school, forced to control herself in front of so much food. All for a puppy.
MASTERLIST
<< Previous - Next >>
Chapter 4
It was Monday. It had been a week, just a week and Scarlett had already had enough of living like that; going to school, chatting with teenagers and restraining her hunger. Derek was in town and she had to be extra careful, Peter still hadn’t told her what to do so she had to stay inside her house for the weekend. She was starving, her fangs fought to pop out everytime someone walked close to her. Not eating made her even tired and when the sunlight hit her skin she felt it on fire.
It was her last period: math.
Where’s a stick when you need one. She couldn’t care less of those stuff, but at least the puppy’s friend was in that class too.
Scarlett was at her locker to take her book when the scent of fresh blood hit her. She turned her head and she saw a girl a few feet from her with a small but deep cut. She had cut her finger with paper. That smell made her fangs pop out and her head spin; she really wanted to eat her. Scarlett hand hit accidentally the locker, her head down and her eyes closed. She needed to focus, she really had to focus. But she was so hungry.
“Scarlett, are you ok?” Hearing Evelyn’s voice made her had shot up.
“I’m fine” she said nodding her head, trying her best to retract her fangs and when she finally succeeded she turned to the girl.
“Are you sure? You look… pale” Evelyn said, her blood seemed to run a bit faster, but Scarlett could easily be wrong, because of her hunger.
Scarlett nodded once again, putting a strand of her red hair behind her ear “I haven’t been feeling very well. I hope I’m not getting sick” she said with a small smile.
“Let’s hope not” Evelyn said her eyes fixed on Scarlett who didn’t divert her eyes “I have to go” said the girl at some point before showing a forced smile, that Scarlett had noticed. The vampire nodded her head before closing her locker and walk to her next class.
That was close, she thought entering the room. Few students were already inside as was the human that she needed. He was reading something on his book, his lips moving lightly, muttering the words he saw written down.
“Hey” she greeted him with a smile sitting in the chair in front of his. His eyes shot up and a wide smile appeared on his face.
“Hi” he said blinking his eyes “How was your first weekend in Beacon Hills?”
Terrible.
“Good” Scarlett answered nodding her head “Sure, I’d been mostly inside, fixing things at home. What about yours?” She asked. His blood run faster making her hunger grown. This question made him nervous and she saw him shrugging his shoulder.
“Nothing special” he gave out a strange laugh “Just been with Scott. Me and him. Alone” he immediately shook his head with eyes closed.
Scarlett nodded her head “It sounds great.”
“Yeah…” He muttered. She could feel his eyes on her when she turned her back at him. She wasn’t focused enough. Suddenly her cellphone vibrated in her pocket. Her hand moved fast to take it and read the message.
Need to talk to you. After school, same place.
Scarlett groaned before writing down “Got lacrosse after school.”
Almost immediately a new message arrive “Use your imagination, darling”
Scarlett almost throw her phone. It was easy for him, that creepy nurse covered for his stupid ass.
“Hi, Scarlett” her head shot up hearing Lydia’s voice.
“You’re in this class?” Scarlett asked looking the girl with wide eyes.
Lydia smiled “No, but I had to give a thing to Mr. Rodgers” she said almost annoyed thinking about the teacher. Then she started to talk about something, but an heartbeat took Scarlett’s attention. Her head turned slightly to hear it better and she had to control her expression when she realized that that heartbeat belonged to Stiles. He went even faster than usual… because of Lydia?
Did he had a crush on her?
“So I’ll see you there? Scarlett?” The vampire looked back at Lydia. He shouldn’t had have a crush at all. And on Lydia?
“What?” She asked.
“You get distracted easily” Lydia said crossing her arms “I’ll see you at lacrosse?”
“No” Scarlett said, then she show a smile “I need to help at home today” the queen bee frowned before tell her that she had to go and that she would call her later and then she went away.
Scarlett’s focus was still on Stiles. She was sure of what she had heard; his blood ran very fast, so his heart was beating differently than usual. She still didn’t know how but she could distinguish the causes of fastened heartbeats.
That could be a problem. But Lydia didn’t even looked Stiles’ way, that meant that Scarlett needed to get closer to the human now more than ever.
When the bell rang Scarlett put the books in her bag and wore her leather jacket before walking out of school. She was walking towards her motorbike when her eyes caught the puppy and the little Argent’s sight. They were talking to each other, close proximity as they were about to kiss, when the noise of a klaxon made them turn to a red car. A man got out, he was in his forty and with a simile he waved his hand and Allison did the same.
Argent.
Her fangs pop out, she had finally seen him. She smirked wearing her helmet and starting her motorbike driving away.
She arrived at the woods taking the bike with her. Scarlett walked surrounded by the trees, she walked under their shadow. The sunlight was bothering her. After almost ten minutes she arrived at the oak where usually she met with Peter. She stopped and whistled. After a moment a man in his thirty walked out from the woods, black leather jacket and glowing red eyes. Peter.
“I’m not a dog” he said “You could just call my name.”
“Still you came out anyway” at her response a smirk appeared on his face and Scarlett soon did the same, watching him getting closer. He put a hand on her cheek and moved away her hair.
“I’ve missed you, darling” he said.
“Yeah, sure” Scarlett said smirking before pushing him away, making him laugh.
“There’s a reason you’re paler than usual?” Peter asked eyeing her up and down.
She put her hands on her hips “I couldn’t hunt” she said “You told me that.”
Peter got closer once again “With Derek around we need to be very careful” he said.
“Well, I need to eat” Scarlett argued rolling her eyes.
“He wouldn’t understand, my love” he said rolling up one of his sleeves. Scarlett scoffed. Derek and Scarlett never really liked each other, but after living together for two years they learnt how to bare the presence of the other. Talia and Peter had found Scarlett in the woods, they had killed the vampire that had just turned her. They took her and waited for her to wake up into her new life after her death.
“Shouldn’t we tell him?” Scarlett asked watching Peter’s movements “About our plan?”
“No” he said calmly “He will surely try to stop us.”
Scarlett shook her head “The Argents had killed his family” she said “They even killed Laura. They deserve to die” Peter had told her how he had found Laura dying in the woods where they were supposed to meet, he had to kill her. That was how he became the Alpha. He then had to pretend he was still comatose to hide from the Argents.
“I know” he said taking a breath “But Derek had always been like his Mother. He would never kill a human, no matter if they are hunters.”
Scarlett scoffed “Idiot.”
Then Peter offered his bared wrist to her. Scarlett looked at it before looking back at Peter, knowing what he was doing.
“Are you sure?” She asked hoping he wouldn’t change his mind.
“Come on, Scar” he said smirking “You’ve already done that in even more compromising positions” Scarlett fangs pop out and smirked thinking about the old days. Then she bit down the flesh of his wrist and Peter let out a small gasp. The flavor of his blood invaded her mouth. Werewolves’ blood was delicious, especially Alphas’. Peter ‘s blood tasted even more delicious than before.
“Ok, that’s it” he said at some point, but she didn’t let go too focused on his flavor “Scarlett, enough” he roared glowing his eyes and she immediately stopped. She let him go licking her lips.
“You were more fun once” she said smirking. Now she felt restored and focused.
“Let’s back to work” Peter said fixing his sleeve “So, how are things going?”
Scarlett crossed her arms “Your Beta is struggling, for what I saw. Are you sure about him?”
“He is my Beta, he’ll do as I say” Scarlett scrolled her shoulder. Scott didn’t seem that strong, but it was up to Peter.
“Have the two of you got close?” Scarlett shook her head.
“He is very shy” she said “And he got his eyes fixed on someone already” this got Peter’s attention “Argent’s daughter.”
“Oh is that so?” He asked with a content smirk.
Scarlett nodded “She seems naive and too kind to be an huntress. I don’t even think she is good at lying.”
“If that’s true, it’s even better. It’s going to be easier to kill her” Peter said “But you still need to get closer to Scott.”
“You think I don’t know that?” She said rolling her eyes.
He studied her face before smirking “What do you have in mind?”
Scarlett grinned seeing how much he knew her “Scott has this strange friend. Stiles” she said “They are always together and I believe he knows what Scott is. I think he has a crush on a girl, so it won’t be easy for me to get closer to him. And I have to make them think I’m not part of all of this.”
“So?” His smirk only grew more.
“I could never be with them 24/7” she said loving to have him in the palm of her hand “But if I could control Stiles, I would control Scott.”
Peter put his hands on her waist pulling her closer “Tell me more.”
“Oh you know how it works, darling” she said without stop smirking “Good things happen to who knows how to wait. Don’t worry I know exactly what to do” she said leaning closer almost brushing her lips to his “But I’ll need your help”.
Parker Luck
Summary: Two weeks after the Vulture-incident, Tony buys a parenting book. Too bad there isn't a chapter on Parker luck.
Read on Ao3 HERE :)
------
Two weeks after the Vulture fiasco, Tony buys a book called ‘Parenting for Dummies’.
He almost immediately regrets the purchase and hides it in a drawer in the lab, not yet brave enough to face it. Then one day he spends three hours squished against Peter’s side, listening to the boy ramble about everything under the sun while they adjust his web shooters. It hits Tony like a brick wall, and when Peter bounces out of the lab after teaching Tony a complicated handshake he knows he’ll never remember, he swears under his breath.
He shouldn’t be surprised, really. He had known it from that very first moment in the kid’s bedroom in Queens.
For once, denial has gotten him nowhere.
After his eyes ache from staring at the door Peter had disappeared from, Tony stands, stretches out a kink in his lower back, and grabs the book from the drawer before he can lose his nerve. Still standing, he traces his thumb over the word Parenting on the cover.
Retreat, his mind begs. Stop. Before it’s too late.
But deep down, he knows he’s already in too deep.
With a heavy sigh and a pressing warmth in his chest, Tony flips the pages to chapter one.
--------
Peter calls it ‘Parker luck’.
Tony calls it the source of his ever-increasing gray hair.
When Peter stumbles into the Tower covered in blood and delirious from a nasty hit to the head, Tony thinks he’ll pass out from the sudden weight of his worry. It only takes some gentle coaxing and seven stitches to make it better, but the unease sits in Tony’s gut long after Peter falls asleep. When the boy wakes up, he apologizes until Tony snaps at him not too.
“It’s the Parker luck, Mr. Stark,” Peter tells him, his head wrapped like a mummy on halloween. “It gets me everytime.”
Parenting for Dummies Chapter Three: Listen. “A nasty concussion doesn’t exactly sound like luck to me, kid.”
“Oh, well it’s not good luck,” Peter clarifies with a weak smile. “In fact it’s really bad luck. Exceptionally bad.”
“You’re killing me here.”
“Did you know that I slipped on a banana peel once? A banana peel. I was on crutches for three weeks in middle school.”
Tony’s worry melts into a hesitant amusement. He sits back on his stiff medbay chair and makes a distant note to invest in a better one. “That is pretty lousy luck, kiddo.”
“And it just keeps getting worse,” Peter says. “Getting bitten by a radioactive spider, crashing Flash’s car, or the fact that I spent homecoming destroying a plane while fighting my date’s dad.”
“I hope this Parker luck of yours isn’t contagious,” Tony jokes, but something in Peter’s eyes darkens. He leans back against the white sheets, chewing on his bottom lip. Tony thinks again of chapter three, of the subtitle that prompts to push at the right times, and takes the liberty. “What is it, kid?”
Peter closes his eyes and gives a watery smile. “Nothing, Mr. Stark. Sorry.”
And because he’s an idiot, Tony believes him. Something tells him he needs to buy Parenting for Dummies 2.
--------
When Peter saves a school bus full of third graders from a thirteen car pileup at the expense of his collar bone, Tony rereads his book, this time with a highlighter in hand.
He wishes there was a section on Parker luck.
This time, he’s less careful about where he reads. Pepper catches him one night, her eyebrows disappearing behind her bangs in her surprise. Her smile is genuine. “Is that what I think it is?” she asks.
“Maybe.”
“Oh God, please don’t tell me you’re pregnant.”
Tony rolls his eyes and dog ears his page before setting it aside. “I am, actually. And sorry to break it to you, but you’re not the father.”
Pepper laughs and sits on the arm of the couch. She runs her hand through his hair and he can’t help but lean into her touch. “This is about Peter,” she says.
His first instinct is to deny it. He feels vulnerable in a way he isn’t used to. “So what if it is?”
“He’s a good kid.”
“I know.”
“He’s making you soft.”
Tony scoffs, but doesn’t deny it. Not with Parenting for Dummies on his lap. “He’s stressing me out, is what he’s doing.”
“He really cares about you, Tony. I see it every time he’s over here.”
His body betrays him by the gentle swoop in his stomach. His mouth twitches in a smile. “I care about him too.”
“You’re a good example to him. He needs someone like you in his life. Especially after what happened to his parents. And his Uncle.”
And then it clicks. Parker luck. Tony’s mouth goes dry.
“I’m trying,” is all he manages to whisper. The book in his lap seems to increase by ten.
Pepper leans over him, pressing her lips into his hair. “I know.”
---------
It’s his and Peter’s fifth mission together.
Today, they’re going up against “the Detonator”, a crazed woman with an affinity for making bombs and setting them off in busy neighbourhoods. She’s armed with a team of rocket-launcher-wielding henchmen, and it’s taking every effort to keep the city in one piece.
Most of the block has been evacuated, thanks to Peter. Tony remembers chapter seven and shoots the boy some praise over their coms. Steve, who’s joined them for the day’s fight, agrees with clipped enthusiasm.
“Thanks guys!” Peter says in his usual animation. “These rocket launchers are no joke. Have you ever seen the movie-”
But whatever it is, it’s lost in the deafening sound of an explosion. He hears Peter swear over the com and Tony’s blood runs cold. Three blocks down, an orange fireball balloons into the air. Steve is already running, his shield tucked into his chest.
Tony shoots off into the sky.
---------
Peter thought they had everything under control.
Until rocket launcher man number 3 decided to explode the bank off 47th street, that is.
He feels the heat from the explosion before he can process what happened. It rips across his back and throws him off his feet into a hot dog cart across the street. Rubble and ash rain down on parked cars and their alarms begin to sound.
“Crap,” Peter groans, shoving away the dented cart and stumbling to his feet. His ears are ringing.
“Pete?” Tony’s voice cuts through the haze. “We’re on our way. You alright?”
“Yeah,” he responds, breathless. His shoulder aches. “These guys are not in a good mood.”
“You can say that again.”
The man who had fired the shot runs up the steps of the bank, bypassing chunks of concrete. Peter limps after him.
“Sorry man,” Peter says when his opponent’s back is still turned. “It’s after hours.”
Startled, the man spins. Peter fires a web to disarm him and it only takes one swift punch to finish the job. He webs him to the floor and kicks the rocket launcher into the corner.
“Kid?” Tony lands beside him, faceplate lifting and his hands reaching to grab onto him. His grip is tight on Peter’s arms, and Peter is unsure which one of them Tony is trying to comfort. “You still in one piece?”
Peter’s ears are still ringing, a high pitched whine that makes his eye twitch. His ankle throbs and he can feel warmth spreading down his back from a cut on his shoulder. He nods anyway. “Are you?”
“Better now that I see you haven’t been barbecued.”
Steve joins them as Peter laughs off Tony’s worry. He’s breathing heavy, his forehead streaked with ash. “Someone sighted the Detonator. She’s heading east towards the Empire State Building.”
“Of course she is,” Tony sighs. Finally, he lets Peter go. “Ready for a field trip?”
But just as he says it, another violent explosion lights up the street across from them. Peter stumbles against the force. Tony grabs his arm, and Steve his shoulder, and he steadies. Through the black smoke, a child cries.
Chest tight, Peter takes a step forward before he’s yanked back. It’s Tony. His helmet hides his expression, but Peter can tell from his stiff posture that he’s worried. That he doesn’t want to separate.
As if sensing it too, Steve places a hand on Tony’s shoulder. “Peter and I will clear the rocket launchers. You go take care of the Detonator.”
“But-”
“She can’t get to it first, Tony. You’ll be the fastest.”
The crying continues, and Peter takes another step. This time, the metal fingers wrapped around his elbow loosen, letting him go. “You better watch him, Rogers.”
“Mr. Stark-”
“Don’t do anything stupid, kid.”
And then Tony is off, blasting off into the sky. Peter shivers against the hot air his exit leaves before turning to run towards the smoke and debris, Steve hot on his heels. Without hesitation, he jumps over the small flames and emerges on the other side, his throat closing up against the smoke.
The first thing Peter sees is the child, snot-nosed and hidden underneath the bed of a truck. His eyes widen when he sees them, a cry stopped short. “Spider-Man!” he yells.
“Get the kid,” Steve says. “I think I see our guy.”
And then he’s gone.
Peter doesn’t dwell on it, vaulting over a smashed mailbox and a stretch of broken glass to reach the kid’s side. He’s trembling, but his hands reach out. Trusting him.
“It’s alright,” Peter says, accepting the kid’s outstretched hands. “We’re okay. Do you know where your family is?”
The boy shakes his head, lip wobbling but obviously trying to be brave. “N-no. I lost them over there,” he says pointing down the street.
“Okay. No problem. Let’s go find them.”
He doesn’t give the boy an option to walk, but instead guides him to rest against his back. Small fingers lock together at the base of Peter’s throat, holding tight.
“What’s your name?” Peter asks as he heads in the direction the boy had pointed. Keep him distracted.
“Benny.”
Peter’s breath catches. “Nice to meet you, Benny. I’m Spider-Man.”
“I- I know.”
“Oh yeah?”
The boy’s head bobs against his back. “I see you on TV. And on the newspapers on the street. You fight bad guys.”
“I try too.”
“You’re awesome,” Benny says, and the shaking quality to his voice recedes.
“I think you’re the awesome one. You’re being so brave.”
“Brave?”
“Yeah, Benny. Even though it’s scary right now you’re still going.”
Benny sniffles. “Are you scared?”
“Nah,” Peter says. “I’ve got you to protect me.”
Against his back, Benny’s chest swells with a breath of a response, but before he can let the words lose a relieved cry erupts from their left. A woman in a pastel headscarf runs towards them, her arms outstretched. “Benny! My little Ben-”
“Mom!”
Peter maneuvers him to the ground and as soon as his small feet hit the ground he’s running. The pair meet in the middle of the street, their arms wrapping tight and their tears mixing. The mother’s eyes meet him from over Benny’s shoulder. “Thank you,” she says, every ounce of her emotion leaking into her words.
“Of course,” is all he can manage.
Once he’s sure they're safe and off the street, he deviates his attention to his coms. “Steve?” he asks over a private channel. “Where are you?”
For a long time, Steve doesn’t respond. Then just as Peter’s worry spikes the man’s voice fills his ears, pinched and strained. “By the river. I’m cornered.”
“Karen-” Peter starts, but Steve’s location pops up on his screen before he can ask further. He changes the trajectory of his swing and just barely avoids clipping his hip on the corner of a building. Then, to Steve, “I’m on my way!”
He finds the Captain in worse shape than he had expected. He’s hunched against an upturned car, it’s tires melted from the sheer heat of the destruction on the street. His shield is raised over his head to protect him from debris raining from the crumbling buildings.
Across the road, three of Detonator's accomplices are shooting the buildings around him, shrieking with glee whenever new glass shatters. Peter glides between the chaos before landing beside Steve. He scrapes his hands on the landing.
“Oh my god,” Peter says, flinching from another loud explosion. “What do we do?”
Steve grimaces, and it’s only now that Peter sees how messed up his leg is. It’s twisted at an unnatural angle, the material of his suit singed and still smoking around it.
“What the hell happened?” Peter gasps, feeling sick.
“It doesn’t matter. We need to get out of here.”
“Not with those crazy rocket guys standing guard. You can’t walk!”
“I can try.”
Adrenaline courses hot through Peter’s bloodstream. He peaks over the car and reassesses their opponents. “I can take them.”
“No. Tony said-”
“Tony isn’t here,” Peter argues. “Besides, I have my Peter tingle. I’ll be fine.”
“Peter tingle?”
“Be right back.”
“Wait!”
But Peter ducks out of cover, knowing that Steve won’t be able to stop him. He runs towards the one closest to him and hopes the element of surprise will be enough to take them down. It is, but barely, and now his cover is blown. The other two turn their weapons towards him and before he can suck in a breath, fire.
Peter swears and jumps high, the rockets whistling as they pass under his feet. They hit the edge of the sidewalk by the river, blowing it open and skipping chunks of debris into the water. Not wanting to wait for them to reload, Peter swings and takes them both out with a single kick. He lands in a messy roll, disoriented by the quickness of the fight.
“We’re clear!” he yells over to Steve, but even as he says it dread sits heavy in his gut. He takes one step towards the car before he hears it- a sharp release of air.
Fire blooms up at the base of the building closest to Steve, the crack of the impact enough to rattle Peter’s teeth and throw him to his knees. It’s the last straw. The building makes a horrible noise of grinding cement, like a scream, and Peter knows enough from experience that it’s close to collapse.
“Steve!”
He sprints to where the man is trying to limp away. His eyes find him, their blue shocking through the dust and smoke. “Peter. You have to get out of here-”
“Not without you.”
Before the man can object, Peter pulls his weight over his shoulder and makes it his burden. He wonders distantly where the fourth rocket launcher is and why they haven’t been blown sky high yet.
But then glass and cement falls down around them like rain, and Peter realizes. Because the building will finish the job for them.
“We’re not going to make it,” Steve says through ground teeth. His hold on Peter’s shoulder is bruising. “Peter, please.”
The building sways again. They have a couple seconds. Nothing more.
Then Peter sees it. A manhole.
“Here,” he gasps, dropping to his knees and tearing off the cover. Every alarm bell in his head is screaming, but it’s the only option. The only way they’ll both have a chance. “Go.”
Steve drops in, disappearing into darkness and landing below with an aborted shout. Peter kicks his legs in just as the building crumbles. Fear stops the breath in his chest and he slides the rest of the way in. He falls and lands hard, head spinning, before finding Steve’s arm in the darkness and pulling him deeper into the sewer.
There’s a couple moments of silence.
And then the world erupts.
Peter will remember later how the force of the impact threw both of them off their feet and how it was impossible to keep his grip on Steve’s arm. He’ll remember the deafening noise of the building smashing onto the street above them, of the great plume of dust that filled the tunnel and blinded him.
He’ll remember falling, his legs jelly, and struggling to his knees.
He’ll remember wishing he had called Tony.
But none of it registers in the moment. There’s only terror.
And then there’s nothing.
----------
“Peter. Come on. Work with me here.”
Awareness brings pain. He strays.
“Nope. No. Peter. Open your eyes.”
The voice belongs to Steve, Peter realizes in a stilted disorientation. Steve, who had been hurt. Steve, who sounds very much alive.
It’s enough for Peter to lift his heavy eyelids. His surroundings are dark, but he can see the Captain’s worried face swimming in front of him, warping in and out of focus as both of them release a breath of relief.
“Thank God,” Steve says.
“Are you okay?” Peter murmurs, surprised for a moment by how unwilling his vocal cords are to cooperate. There’s new blood on Steve’s face and the torso on his suit is torn.
“It’s you I’m more worried about.”
“Mm. Why?”
Steve might respond, but Peter doesn’t hear it, his awareness slipping like the close of a stage curtain. Strong hands shake him and the sting of his injuries are enough for him to struggle back into wakefulness.
“Stay awake, kid. Alright? Tony is on his way. Keep your eyes open.”
Peter didn’t remember closing his eyes, but sure enough, when he tries they open. “Tony?”
“He’ll be here soon.”
There’s a tightness in his chest, and Peter coughs against it. It sparks a sharp pain behind his ribs and he curls his fingers into the ground as Steve braces him by his shoulder. His ribs are definitely broken. His leg throbs and the skin on the right side of his face itches terribly with drying blood. He blinks a couple times to try and alleviate his double vision, but it does nothing.
“What happened?” Peter asks.
“You don’t remember?”
“Not really.”
Steve’s expression pinches like he’s just eaten something sour. “The building above us collapsed, but don’t worry about it too much. Tony will be here in a flash.”
Collapse. Peter sucks in a panicked breath and it makes him cough again. It hurts worse this time, and his vision goes gray. He comes back to himself in Steve’s lap, his whole body shuddering and then man’s hand clamped protectively against his back.
The new perspective shows Peter a growing red stain on the Captain’s side.
“Steve,” he gasps, uncoordinated fingers reaching out to press against the wound.
“It’s nothing.”
“It’s not- it’s not nothing-”
Before Steve can retaliate further, their coms crack back to life. Peter winces against it, his fingers reaching up to struggle with the edges of his mask. Steve pushes his hand away. “Leave it. It’s helping filter your air.”
“Peter? Rogers?” Tony’s voice comes through in a mess of static. It reminds Peter of Ben’s favorite radio station that had been broadcasted too far to have a good connection. “I’m here. Oh Christ, I’m here. Are you okay?”
“Steve’s hurt,” Peter mumbles. It’s important Tony knows.
“Rogers?”
“Just hurry, Tony,” Steve says. There’s a pressure in his voice that Peter’s too tired to translate.
“The explosion caused the river to flood. You’re under about three feet of water right now.”
“We’re airtight.”
“For now.”
Peter feels himself dip further into Steve’s lap and the man’s steadying hand is delayed. Weaker. “Peter? What did I tell you about staying awake.”
“What’s wrong with Peter?”
“Queens. I need you to put pressure on this for me. Don’t give up on me now.”
Peter groans. For once, he doesn’t care how young it makes him sound. He struggles up anyways and replaces his hand obediently over Steve’s side. It paints his hands red and he tries desperately not to think of Ben.
“Rogers-”
“I got it, Tony.”
There’s a weighted silence. Peter bites the inside of his cheek to keep himself lucid. The static in his brain reminds him of the time he had gotten stabbed, and wonders if he’s bleeding somewhere too.
“Okay. I found a weak spot. It shouldn’t cause too much damage. Are you ready?”
“Go for it.”
There’s another lurch of shifting rock. Peter can’t help but cry out, his muddled brain struggling to comprehend that this time, it’s to help. Then there’s a loud crash, a weak beam of sunlight, and the rush of water.
Within seconds, the cold spray is up to their waists. Peter grinds his teeth and squeezes his eyes shut against reflexive tears the biting temperature brings. It gives him a boost of adrenaline, and when he opens his eyes again, his vision is more clear.
Tony is with them moments later, hovering above the water. His hands reach for Peter, but Peter shys away. “Steve first,” he pleads. “He’s bleeding-”
“You’re bleeding too-” Tony starts, but even as he says it, Steve lists dangerously to the side. His face is pale, his breathing shallow. Tony catches him by the shoulder. “Don’t move,” he tells Peter, and works to lift Steve up towards the hole.
The water is up to Peter's chest now. It steals the breath from his lungs and he scrambles to stand. Somewhere in the journey the ground above him groans and he loses his footing. He hears Tony yell out for him, feels metal hands push him hard, and then he’s completely underwater. There’s more noise. More pain.
He breaks the surface, stuttering on his breath and his teeth clattering. More sunlight has entered the tunnel, and it’s easy to piece together what had happened.
“Tony!”
Peter fights against the current to reach his mentor’s side. His suit is pinned under a large slab of concrete by his left leg, the water already sloshing up to his neck. Peter practically collapses beside him and digs his fingers under the weight, but his ribs scream in protest so violently that his vision goes white.
“Easy!” Tony yells, catching him by his arms when he falters. “Kiddo, listen to me. The suit will let me breathe for a while. You need to get out of here.”
“I’m not leaving you.”
“You have to. FRIDAY took some damage, but she’s recalibrating my boosters. I’ll be able to get out.”
“No,” Peter chokes, trying again to lift the concrete keeping Tony pinned. “I won’t leave without you.”
“Peter-”
“I’m not losing you too. I can’t- I can’t-”
Tony’s voice is more gentle, his hand reaching to cradle the side of Peter’s face. “Listen to me, bud. I know this is scary. But you have to trust me. You have to go. For me.”
Peter shudders. Feels hot tears pool under the tight confines of his mask. “Told you I have Parker luck,” he says.
Tony finds it within himself to laugh. The water is at their chins. “I know, kiddo. But you don’t have to be afraid anymore. We’ve got each other now.”
“Tony-”
“Go.”
The water rises over his mouth. He wouldn’t be able to answer even if he wanted to. Then Tony’s head is submerged, and icy terror closes around Peter’s heart.
He dives under and reaches once more for the weight on Tony’s leg. He pulls and struggles and feels Tony’s hands on his arms, trying to pry him off and pull him away. The light is gone in the murky water.
Please. Please.
The concrete shifts. It takes everything in Peter not to gasp out at the pain it causes, to waste the precious air he has left.
Please.
It shifts again. Tony has given up on trying to push him off and is instead helping to lift the weight. Just a little bit more.
Peter screams, tiny bubbles escaping and carrying whatever he had left away. His body loses strength just as the concrete is alleviated. He thinks he feels Tony’s hands close around his numb body. But really he can’t be sure.
Tony is safe.
And it’s all that matters.
-------
“Peter. Don’t do this.”
“Breathe, Queens. Oh God-”
“Steve. What do I- I can’t- I can’t-”
“Keep the compressions going, Tony. Keep going okay? Don’t stop.”
“I can’t do it without him. I need him, Steve. I need-”
“Keep it together. He’s going to be fine. Right, Peter? You’re going to be fine. You just have to breathe for us.”
“Kiddo. Baby. Please.”
It’s all water down a drain.
A swirling, murky mess.
And it takes Peter with it.
Parenting for Dummies: Chapter 12.
Love them unconditionally.
Tony hasn’t left his kid’s side for hours. He’s been glued to him, the boy’s limp hand pressed between his own like a lifeline even when the doctor’s had worked to splint his leg. Every breath, every rise and fall of Peter’s chest is a miracle, and Tony stares at the heart monitor until his eyes burn.
May is dozing in a recliner in the corner, her glasses crooked on her face. It’s just nearing three in the morning.
There’s movement behind him, and Tony turns to find Steve. He’s traded his hospital gown for a pair of loose sweats and a white shirt, the skin on his arms wrapped with thick bandages. The Captain turns and sees May. When he speaks, his words are almost a whisper. “How is he?”
Tony shrugs, a sudden lump monopolizing in his throat. “He’ll be okay.”
“Has he woken up yet?”
“No.”
Steve sighs. He limps to Tony’s side, but still manages to keep some distance. “He was brave today.”
“If by brave you mean dumb, then yes.”
“He saved our lives. We both know that you wouldn’t have been able to blast out of there by yourself.”
Dread sits heavy in Tony’s gut, because it’s true. He would’ve said anything to get Peter to safety. His blasters weren’t recharging. Weren’t even close to functioning.
But the kid had been too selfless for his lie. Really, Tony shouldn’t be surprised.
And now every time he closes his eyes he sees Peter. Hurt, small, Peter. Jerking with the last of his energy to free Tony. Of going limp in the water, no more air leaving his lips and remaining totally unresponsive as Tony fought to return the life to him.
“I wish it didn’t have to be him,” Tony says.
“But it is. It was.”
“I know.”
Steve lays a hand on Tony’s shoulder. He’s too tired to flinch away from it. “Let me know when he wakes up.”
And then he leaves.
Tony runs his thumb over Peter’s knuckles. “Wake up,” he says. Pleads.
But with his usual stubbornness, Peter doesn’t show signs of waking for another hour. First his fingers twitch. Then he groans. His eyelids flutter and Tony nearly collapses in his relief. Soft and weary eyes turn to find him, and Peter’s lips turn into a smile.
“You’re okay,” he murmurs.
“You have no idea how angry I am with you right now,” Tony says, but any heat behind his words is lost behind his relief. Peter must see it because his smile only widens.
“You don’ look angry.”
“Furious?”
“Nope.”
“Enraged?”
Peter laughs, then winces. He looks down and notices Tony’s hand clamped on his own. “I’m really glad you’re okay.”
“Well, the feeling’s mutual.”
Peter looks up. Tony tightens his hold.
“Maybe I don’t have Parker luck after all.”
“We’re breaking the cycle,” Tony agrees. He lifts Peter’s hand and presses a firm kiss to the back of his hand. Peter smiles again.
“Pepper told me you bought a parenting book,” he says, eyes drooping.
“That woman is nothing but a liar.”
“Mm. I believe her.”
“Sorry to break it to you kid, but whoever would want to willingly parent a danger seeking, heart attack inducing kid like you would have to be crazy.”
Peter squeezes Tony’s hand. “Sorry to break it to you, but I guess that means you're crazy.”
Tony’s heart compresses with warmth. “Yeah kid,” he says, “I guess I am.”
And he wouldn’t have it any other way.
