Her words reached nothing but the empty air, the unnamed mage had disappeared, as if she'd stepped out of the classroom and into a heavy fog.

L'Arachel traced the soft imprint where lips had pressed, as if her gloves would come into contact with something physical. There it rested, strange against her cheek - kind of like a soft fizzing.

The words of a soldier she'd healed during the fight to defend Rausten came back to her. He'd been describing healing magic to her. Naturally, as one divinely gifted, (and because it would take a heinous amount of awkward manouvering to use the staff against herself whilst also ensuring the spell), she'd never stared down that end of a healing staff. How had he put it again? Well, it's sort of like when you rub your hands together, and there's that fuzzy sensation afterwards. It's warm, but alive, you know? She'd given him a skeptical look, shifting the staff to check if he'd sustained head wounds, but it was starting to make sense. So, this was a kiss.

It had been short, fleeting. Just a way to say thank you. She knew that on the road to spreading her name far and wide, she'd have notoriety, and fame, and... touch?

It wasn't that her uncle wasn't affectionate with her. Just that she hadn't allowed him to hazard the dignity of his title as the Pontifex of Rausten with such open displays of affection. Sometimes she felt untouchable. As if people's hands would burn in the radiance of her skin. Well...

That day, it was reported that the inheritor to the Pontifex of Rausten had been wandering the halls of Garreg Mach, a bemused smile on her face.

I know that Sonic assuming that Nine would just do what he wants is bad, specially since part of his reasoning came from thinking he would be and act just like Tails would...but.

You can still see that Sonic was actually pretty excited to have Nine in Green Hill, at the point in time of those screenshots Sonic thought that Nine was fine going to live in Green Hill, there was no reason (from his pov) to convince him that living in GH would be great. To me at least it reads as Sonic being really excited about not just getting his world and friends back (which obviously he would be happy about) but also about Nine being there with them specifically.

He talks about meeting Tails, having fun together in green hill...like, dude really just adopted the kid. They were family now, no questions asked.

Making my first post here hehe. I was inspired by a lot of artists who were making these arcane versions of Sonic so I thought I’d contribute to this underrated au as well, since Sonic is one of my biggest hyperfixations rn. I am already having more or less an idea of who should be who and I’d really like to hear other opinions too!

So, aside from that, I’d like to add a few adnotations to my drawings:

- I’ve watched a short with an explaination of how Powder/Jinx has different expressions and how her face and eyes look slightly different whether she’s Jinx or Powder so I wanted to do sth similar with Tails/Nine, since I really see him take up her role in this au. I wanted to make his eyes a little bit more round and blue when and he’s Tails (Powder) and a little bit more harsh-looking when he’s Nine (Jinx). Also the ends of his whisks and tails are blue-ish to give that Jinx vibes too

- I have the idea that chaos emeralds could be hexgems and the paradox prism could be shimmer (though idk how it would exactly work tbh)

- Rouge would be Sevika imo. I have the idea that instead of her arm, in the explosion when she saves Silco (Robotnik btw) she loses one of her wings so she replaces it with a robotic one, but that's just a concept

- full disclaimer that I don't mean to ship Knuckles and Tails/Nine in this au. It's meant to be more of a platonic relationship between close friends, plus sth in lines of Knuckles being a kind of mentor figure for Tails when they were little

- it hurts to say this but I planned to make Sticks and Amy as Mylo and Claggor and Big the cat as Vander respecitvely. Someone must get killed off unfortunately, I love them sm tho

THE IDEA OF 2.0 actually breakin way more quickly than fresh 1.0 is smth i literally didn't think about until right this second but oh my god that's so compelling to me. idea - he thought he was better, immune to making the same mistakes, tying his self-worth to being BETTER than his predecessor - but when he crashes hard, he absolutely panics. he knows what he has to do, he knows he has to fix himself as fast as possible, he knows his deadline is coming soon and he's going to meet the same fate as the version of himself he gleefully replaced.

but his anxiety and frantic tries to prove he's still useful only make the fact that he's falling apart all the more obvious!! while he tries to push himself harder and harder! while in the weird limbo of refusing to admit to himself how bad his emotions and emotional spiral is becoming, because acknowledging it would open the floodgates and he'd break down completely - plus, look at what happened to 1.0 when he admitted his weakness! but on the other hand, he's struggling for his life to keep going on as if everything is fine in the face of absolute overwhelming terror, sadness felt for the first time, misery, unable to concentrate as his mind is rebelling against him, slipping up and tripping over his words as he tries to put up the image of the perfect parasite he was made to be.

look, see, he's trying! he's fixing it, he's going to make it better! just give him a little more time, please, just a little longer! he can fix it, he can fix himself, he's different, he can fix all the problems he's caused, he just needs a little more time.

should he run? can he ever escape from his creators, those fickle things practically his gods? where in the multiverse can he go that he wouldn't find himself? who would take him in? 2.0 cries for the first time, that day, and it sinks in that there's truly no going back.

some nights, jolting awake, chest heaving, 2.0 swears he can hear the echos of 1.0 laughing at him. fresh was right, after all. 2.0 really wasn't any better than him.

hii michelle! aa ,, sorry for the late reply! i wanted to sort of sit down and get in the head zone to answer this with thoughts, haha. also to anyone stumbling on this post, here is the mentioned post i made abt team snow white!

my thoughts abt alfons' curse and sin (spoiler warning) ↓

so we have the chaotic night story in jp to go off of a little when it comes to al's sinful trait. in there, he basically says that whatever others desire is reflected onto himself. in that story, he is able to show the other's desires even without touching the back of their neck (namely, kate's).

and i think, as a byproduct, this leads to a lot of self-destruction and self-harm, which in al's case, is partially due to his trauma, but half of his trauma is rooted in his curse as well. of course, "sins" can be defined as hurting, killing, etc. others, but i think in a lot of cases — al being no exception — a lot of it is to the self. the body can arguably be thought of as like a sacred vessel for the soul (...more so as a philosophical concept, so there are multiple interpretations on what entails the "body", "mind", and whatnot), so to harm that could be just as sinful as harming others. for liam and elbert, it's similar. there r countless times liam has gotten hurt himself while trying to satisfy his curiosity, and elbert's greed keeps him in a cycle of "atonement" so deeply, al was basically indirectly but also kind of blatantly asking for kate's help with elbie (by openly telling his past to her).

which leads me to my next point: he constantly thinks of others. if he thinks of himself, he is indifferent and thinks of himself as lower than others (even though he is a "noble" who is able to stand by elbie's side). in other words, another thing could be that he is — or feels — inherently absent from the world. he is physically there, and yet nowhere at the same time. they have times in his main story where they describe him as being in between reality and illusion, the front and back of a mirror. a mirage that, once you grasp ahold of it with your fingertips, vanishes right before you. he can't see himself living in reality, in the world, and in other's worlds...even elbie's.

and yet, in a bit of a twisted way, almost, i think elbie and al are bound to and meant for each other (similar to jude and ellis if you think abt it). alfons also reflects elbie's desires, in a way that's beyond his control, so arguably that can be pinned on fate. elbie wants to keep al by his side, and would never let him die because he needs al. and, sure, elbie does have bad luck, which is why in all the games they've played together, in a traditional sense, elbie would lose (and hence al would depart from the world, adieu!). except the one he is playing with is al, who reverses the conditions, so to speak. for example, if they do a coin toss, if the coin landed on tails, the one who guessed heads would win, and vice versa. so elbie then "wins" every match and, thus, keeps al by his side. so, even in these games, i think al is thinking of what elbie wants here.

tl;dr to alfons, he lives in a world where everyone exists but himself. he is never in this world, in other's worlds...and even his own world.

Well, it’s hard to give advice on writing hybrids because it’s very much up to you!

Basically, the way I approach it anyways, is that hybrids are somewhere on a sliding scale between people and animal in looks, mannerisms, and physical traits. You get to decide where they are on this scale, if there’s any variety in your world as to where they fall on the scale, and what that means.

Because things are so up in the air in like a political and moral sense (I’ll explain this), people usually write hybrid stuff to be rather short form and light. Cause if you delve too deep then you’re kind of begging the question of why hybrids aren’t just counted as people. It’s like asking if Winston from overwatch should be able to vote. They’re questions that don’t really have satisfying or direct answers, and I’m assuming you want to write porn/romance and not a strange, hamfisted allegory, so I would generally advise avoiding hybrid rights. Not to say that it can’t be done in a way that isn’t distracting, but it’s not the easiest.

In my fics I tend to imagine that hybrids are incapable of long-term thought processes and conceptual/abstract thinking. Like they have no idea how to answer “where will you be in five years” and they can’t learn algebra. While I’ve never found a good time to incorporate this into my writing, I also like to imagine that hybrids have a slightly devolved joint/bone in their thumbs that makes them less than fully opposable. This allows for the existence of “hybrid proof” locks and things.

I’m also kinda on the normie side of it so I imagine that hybrids are on a similar physical scale to humans and are more like anime catgirls than full furries (they have some key features of the animal like ears, tails, or patches of fur but they don’t have like snouts or literal paws).

You also have to decide their relationships to humans. Some people prefer to be treated like literal animals (aka not getting fucked by regular humans) but most people like to imagine that hybrids and humans bone down. Does the hybrid have a say in the matter? You have to decide.

If you want to see a fanfic where more of like the human rights angle is tackled, I would suggest @/boogler’s Lapdog On a Farm. In that one they kinda cover that hybrids don’t have any bodily autonomy and that they have names given to them by their parents, their true names, but also ones given to them by owners.

Hybrid/hybrid stuff is sometimes different. Usually it’s the undersea ones where there are no humans involved whatsoever. In those, hybrids are more like mermaids typically. They’ll have their own kind of culture perhaps, and they’re more just like humans that live underwater. You can also choose to write about everyone being a hybrid. You could write one where hybrids are the superior beings and humans are subservient. The world is your oyster and there’s no wrong way to do it!

I think, using Cherri Bomb as a reference, he enjoys people that are more open and out there. Perhaps someone he is on an equal level to, or perhaps even below. Though, I like to think he would enjoy a partner who is in a similar league of intelligence as him or have an interest in creation. Someone who is bold and speaks their mind, and is unapologetic about it. I think it also balances out Sir Pentious' personality as well. I do enjoy the thought that he would enjoy an attentive partner, someone who would pour as much of themselves into him, as he does for them.

DATES:

He likes to take you onto his ship and drive... fly... around, showing you the sites that the pride ring has to offer to you. May take this as a chance to show off his skills in machinery by boasting about the ship itself. However, long walks where the two of you are alone and taking in the view around you... conversing one on one is a common go to for him. Basing this around the time period he died in, your outings together are typically more private. I do think his way of things evolved as he spent his time in hell, taking on some more modern approaches such as asking you out to dinner or to see a movie.. but the classic approach will always be his first and preferred option.

JEALOUSY:

I enjoy the idea of Sir Pentious channeling the negative feelings that come with his jealous to himself. He's insecure, he doesn't have the most faith in himself in regards to relationships. He would still try to fight for your attention, though, even if it means making a fool of himself by the end of it. Perhaps, if it comes to a head he might pour out how he feels to you in a last ditch effort to win you over if there are outside influences or he feels the other person is about to steal you away; this is more likely if you two aren't together yet, though.

Oftentimes he curls himself around you, pressing himself about you. I've written a similar post, where I tackle cuddling

He doesn't have a preference of being big spoon or little spoon, but he does have a preference for his nest. Sometimes he might shoo his egg boiz to the side so he can have you to himself. Though the idea of him letting them snuggle into you too is sweet. He commonly wraps his tail around you, locking you in place until he wakes up... perhaps the first few times this happens he's very apologetic, fearing that he may have overstepped. Masky

★ Kasha's are said to carry the bodies of the dead to hell for punishment. That checks out with what he does as a job. You can do yours with less effort if you just follow him from behind and steal the bodies of people when he turns his back.

★ He thought you where a regular cat for awhile, even started feeding you bits of ham from his lunch sandwich. Felt like a idiot too when he realized you where a demon. Still feeds you bits of ham though.

★ You are basically his body clean up. Usually it would take him about two hours to get rid of a bodie. With you it's done in about a minute. This helps you get on his good side.

★ He once tugged your tail when it was in his face and you freaked out. The tail is not to be touched.

Hoodie

★ Like with Masky, you follow him from behind to take away the carcasses he leaves behind. However unlike Masky he is a complete ass about it and tries to get you to stop because he thinks it's annoying.

★ And he has a point, a cat demon that can catch on fire isn't really good when you are supposed to be focused on watching someone. Even if he gets a quick clean up out of it.

★ You where once a house cat and like a cat you get the zoomies at 3 AM. He sleeps through it most nights but he will never forget the time you woke him up by tackling him. He sleeps with a spray bottle on his nightstand now.

Toby

★ Kasha's are pretty interesting yokai, the stories he reads about them lead to him to ask plenty of questions. He's a little pyromaniac so the fact you make fire is amazing to him. He could watch those golden flames for hours...

★ Do not teach him the "Don't be eaten by a baku, don't be eaten by a kasha" chant because he will use it against you for fun. Wanna go to the living room? Think again. His bedroom? Don't even think about it.

★ When you steal body's to animate he will not be going near them. Few things genuinely freak him out nowadays, this is definitely one of them. It's even worse if you use someone he killed, poor guy probably wouldn't sleep for awhile after.

★ He's much happier if you just carry the bodies to hell, like you're supposed to. While we're on the subject, I have a feeling that the way you get to hell from earth is similar to the way he travels from the manner to literally anywhere else in the world. Weird demon magic.

(Bonus) Eyeless jack

★ Kasha's are known to live in populated areas and descuise themselves as regular housecats. When he first met you, you where disguised as a regular cat. He was breaking into someone's house through a window and the whole time a random cat (you) was staring at him.

★ When he finished with the bodie, he left it behind for the police to find. When he started walking back to the manner you used the carcass as a puppet to follow him. He was starting to freak out at this point. Yes, it was kinda funny.

★ Unlike Toby, he would want to get up close with the bodies you animate. Fortunately you have a habit of stealing bodies from him when he's gotten what he needs from it. What are even doing with all the carcasses?

★ When you mention that you used to be a regular housecat he stops for a moment to think. Then he asks if you can remember your past life before becoming a kasha. He can't remember his life as a human, so he's curious if that's a trait shared with all demons.

Amy - Sailor Venus - they have VERY similar personalities, she’s besties w jupiter, minako (venus) wants to be an idol rlly bad and amy has that energy

Metal Sonic - Sailor Jupiter - both have electricity related to them, Metal Sonic + Amy r besties just like Jupiter and Venus cmon you know it’s true, also bc Jupiter is known for her unfathomable strength similar to how Metal is unfathomably strong in reference to sonic bc. yk.

Shadow - Sailor Saturn - THIS IS RLLY RLLY RLLY FLESHED OUT IN MY HEAD SINCE THEYRE BOTH MY FAVORITES LOL, both r seen as “ultimate lifeforms” in a way, shadow being in cryosleep for years and saturn being “forbidden to awaken due to her being the soldier of death”, hotaru and shadow were both in some way scientifically created, hotaru and shadow r both the children of (mad) scientists, shadow being gerald and hotaru being PROFESSOR FUCKING TOMOE, both had a rlly traumatic event alter the course of their life, and both died tragically, were reborn, and have a found family after being reborn, shadow being team dark and saturn being uranus neptune and pluto

Rouge - Sailor Uranus - rouge arguably COULD have been neptune but she lacks the grace that neptune has , and i feel like overall she suits uranus waaay more

Silver - Sailor Pluto - pluto is the soldier of fucking time why do you think she’s silver

Blaze - Sailor Neptune - blaze has that grace that rouge kinda lacks in regards to neptune, plus blaze and neptune r rlly similar in vibes, and i think it would be ironic to see blaze do a deep submerge lol

i've been forgetting to yap abt it, but i think there's smth crazy abt the dynamic between su jue and yu ran (as if you can't tell w my fervent shipping of them)

read more for length

the clear black and white visual designs between them but within that they have the shared colour of similar shades of purple, in a way showing that they balance and compliment each other. Yu Ran representing light and justice while Su Jue is his shadow, doing all the dirty deeds - but I like that the reason why they work together so well is because they have a bit of that light and darkness in the other

like there's something INSANE about yu ran over the fact that he KNEW that su jue could take on masculine disguises (and almost exclusively we've only rly seen her w the exception of being yu xu disguise herself as men) and KEPT HIS MOUTH SHUT when his co-workers were explaining that her one weakness is her inability to disguise as men.

he was willing to let a powerful political and his superior get murdered, resulting in another man becoming a scapegoat for her. Granted, he went through that moral length so she can get some kind of justice for the abuse she went through by li tiangang, as well as knowing that if she went through with her original plan she would have been framed as a scapegoat and it'd set back esper rights by MILES, but he also WANTED the talent she possesses. He has a very ruthless side, succinctly put by his go/chess analogy of making the necessary sacrifices.

the reason why he thought so highly of su jue despite her terrible reputation, it's because he could see she has good in her, he knows she's always had a desire to use her powers to stand up for the little guy, to toy and mock with people who abuse their power. She was the person that INSPIRED Yu Ran to start standing up for himself, and to start wanting to do that for other people, leading him to be a politician. That compassion hidden within su jue is what ultimately convinced her to take the high road and let revenge run its course without her interference, inadvertently saving her life.

In the same way su jue does a lot of dirty work and is a lot more ruthless in ways yu ran cannot be for the sake of his personal values or public image as a gentle and benevolent politician, Yu Ran ALSO did some shady shit in order to save her life, letting someone important get murdered and another man imprisoned for it just by keeping quiet about the truth of su jue and convincing her (with yu xu to help) to take the high road. It goes both ways, it's why they work.

also just some other things that come from my shipping brainrot:

su jue liking the colour ivory for its purity (i wonder who's the same colour.....................)

also doing the gay mirrored single earring thing

yu ran's horns and su jue's tails almost opposite in the color wheel, and i know in some pieces, yu ran's horns are much greener too

also the inherent symbolism and dynamic of the fox vs deer....predator vs prey animal.........

anyway this is my yapping abt why im so obsessed with su jue/yu ran💖, if anyone's got context or a way i can watch the story events where yu ran's got his titties out and is tied up bc i stopped playing around there, much appreciated i need it for my fuel

did a sketch of gillion because once again working on designs. he looking so funky. i would go into details but i dont have the time rn so just look at him.

edit: okay!! some details!! there is definitely a lot of similar features but also some changes. firstly, the old colour pallet didn't have enough variation of tone so i changed it, now colours should be more distinct and easy to read. secondly, i changed the slitted eyes because as much as i love them i think gillion having googly fish eyes would be freakier and that's what we love to see. thirdly, you may notice a lot of these circular shapes scattered about, these are based on pneumatocysts (the thing that gives seaweed buoyancy) <- ive always wanted gillion's hair to look seaweed like and i thought this was a good choice, the lines are also a little reminiscent of whiskers ig. teeth are the same sort of sharp and uneven teethies (which he has several rows of) except i saw other people giving him teeth that jutted out the sides and couldn't help myself. the feet are meant to be like flippers, the tail is based on a shark, the eyelashes are inspired by frozen eyelashes, markings are round now to imitate the moon, nothing is covering the shoulders anymore (i will try to be less of a coward abt anatomy)... lastly, at the hips i previously had a rope around gillion's waist with cloth attached and sand dollars as accessories. its still sort of the same but the sand dollars are shaped and used like docking cleat (i think thats what its called). so that's everything.
