as someone who was born into east orthodox, baptised anglican, did 13 years of catholic school and still ended up without faith in christ, i would LOVE to have a conversation with jason, who was brutally tortured and murdered, and still holds his faith

aziraphale, the one who gave the first human exiles his flaming sword as both a source of protection and warmth, who did not look on them as sinners deserving of destruction but people entitled to the best chances possible, has never once looked at crowley, a heavenly exile, with anything other than compassion and a desire to protect. from their first meeting, he never wanted anything bad to happen to him. when crowley slithers up to him in eden, he treats him like an equal rather than an adversary. when crowley appears, his eyes fill with love and excitement, his gaze turns soft and hesitant, his whole body seizes with joy of seeing him. crowley might typically the one to seek him out, but aziraphale has always welcomed him home.

How to be majorly disappointed, by me

Step one: find a cool Legend of Zelda-related book at the local used bookstore

Step two: get excited because that’s my special interest

Step three: check the back and see it’s about how various religions relate to the Zelda universe

Step four: get even more excited because I love both those topics

Step five: flip through and discover it’s all Christianity related and no other religions are even mentioned

Step six (the most important step): cry 😭

[TUVOKTOBER: Day 6] Based on this line of dialogue:

#I will forever be like 'what did you mean by that??' jennifer lawrence clip about Tuvok saying he 'spoke out against it'#He isn't??? A politician?? And never was???#Is his family one which holds a certain amount of sway??#I need to know if he 'spoke out' in an official capacity - like a way that mattered to the world at large or if he was just talking shit #I tend to assume mostly the latter - maybe talking shit to specific people but still. It reminds me of how in Gravity he says #HE chose to leave Jara and school when in reality he was kicked out and banished - adjusting the facts #anyway one of the things I sincerely love about Tuvok is that he would be like one of many petty Vulcan antagonists* in another series #especially when he was younger but it's not like he's THAT much better in canon #Ex: Though Tuvok agrees & praises the peace treaty he still seems to view B'Elanna unfavorably bc she's Klingon #<- Like what Neelix says 'That's just it!! You don't feel anything FOR me but you feel things AGAINST me' that's him a nutshell #<- Another example is how he treats Chakotay in the earlier seasons: Deliberately undermining him and questioning his authority #He can be very sanctimonious both about him personally and facets of himself without much tolerance for others or deviation #It's a legit character flaw and I do love highlighting it bc I love him even when I want to choke him to death he's fascinating <3 #It's also VERY interesting bc he WAS more of a rebel punk as a teen then he went to the monastery and now he is shown to be very #devoted to Vulcan ways and have a keen interest in monastic life.#I know Vulcan philosophy is NOTHING like christianity or catholicism but like forget that for a second. Ok. Now: 'Tuvok's born again swag?#off the charts' v_v thank you #bea art tag #Tuvoktober #st voyager #st voyager fanart #*And this never changes. Unlike Spock or T'Pol he never has moments (that I can recall) where the narrative's like 'GOTCHA!'#& he's never insecure about his identity as Vulcan. Never desires to feel or be more human. & I /do/ think this is bc he's older! We see #himas an ensign in 'Flashback' struggling with his identity as its pitted against humanity AND in 'Gravity' where he's shown to have disdai #for Vulcan culture & customs. It really makes me wish we had gotten more character-building episodes from him rather than character-breakin #ones where he's not really acting as himself in full. v_v #also one last thing: I recognize that other characters do try2 'GOTCHA!' Tuvok both seriously and lightheartedly but Tuvok is never framed #as being actually affected by this unlike Spock or T'Pol where it's a whole like Thing about their characters (humanity - feeling)#tuvoktober

My brother and I had a conversation about how we both are interested in officially converting to Judaism (I am Jewish and practice Judaism and celebrate Jewish traditions but not officially, it’s complicated) and I think it’s so funny that we both independently decided Judaism made more sense for us.

Also Happy Hanukkah to my Jewish siblings!

My family is like super christian and conservative and that just made my life Hell, ironically enough, I can't be myself, or else it's considered sinful, I can't get help because "God will help me" etc

It is so much fun watching Roseanna M. White be Catholic.

For one thing, she tells you cool history stuff about Christmas music.

#for another thing this is such a satisfying end to a years long saga #of me trying to figure out if she converted or not #it started when i found a blog post of hers explaining why scripture can't be the only source of christianity #and i was like 'honey you just point-for-point presented most of the catholic arguments against sola scriptura'#but other posts made it clear she was still protestant #so i could hope this was the beginning of a journey but didn't really expect anything #then a long time later she posts about how she and her family have found a church that fits their needs better #which is more how you talk about switching protestant churches and not going through rcia #so i dismissed all but the wildest hope #then she mentioned speaking at a catholic writer's conference #which doesn't necessarily prove anything because ecumenism is a thing #even the fact that she had a catholic branch to her small press didn't prove anything #it was run by her catholic friends and i know of protestants who work very closely with catholic initiatives while remaining protestant #so the evidence was piling up but there was nothing absolutely conclusive so it was driving me bonkers #and then FINALLY for advent she started talking about the liturgical year #and said 'now that my immediate family is catholic we celebrate advent'#AT LAST! CONFIRMATION!#(pun not intended but still appreciated)#and now she's had several blog posts making it clear she's very excited about catholic history and spirituality #and i'm so proud of her #i can see why you'd be coy when you have a very protestant audience but i'm glad she finally went public with it #not least because i get to find out cool stuff about christmas carols #catholic things #christmas #roseanna m. white

my dad & step-mom are visiting soon so we’ve hung up the trans flag in my room. they’re not homophobic or transphobic or any kind of anti-queer i just haven’t explicitly told them and i just wanna see how they’ll react.

Hello, my LGBT-ites, and everyone else (who are still just as special.)

I’ve been thinking about submitting my short story/novella with knives in my stomach. My anxiety grows as I get closer to finishing the editing process. I’m going to submit it to a few places that take short stories and if all else fails, I’m going to release it for cheap on Amazon.

These are the ghetto mockups for the book cover (made using Canva.) I’m also debating using the pen name Wren Jacobs. It’s a play on a character’s name from a movie I imprinted on (Rynn Jacobs from The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane.)

The reason for the nom de plume is that I come from a Christian family who don’t know I’m bisexual and this novella stars a lesbian. Also this novella involves a religious cult so my family won’t like that either…and Wren just sounds cooler than Mary Lastname.

So, unless the collective cringe of my writing kills me, this should be released sometime before or during September 2023.
