lol dumbass can't even have the guts to answer for their transphobia. No one is "erasing lesbians" by HC VI as a trans man. You're just looking for an excuse to be transphobic and claiming "lesbian erasure" as a deflection. There's nothing wrong with a trans man seeing themselves in VI and wanting to HC her as a trans man, especially considering that lots of trans men still have a relationship with lesbianism and sapphic culture. VI is still a cis woman at the end of the day and a random trans man feeling seen by VI or relating to CaitVI and making a HC on tumblr.com does not "erase lesbians." Again, youre just looking for an excuse to be transphobic and then being so cowardly that you have to immediately block anyone who points it out.
first of all. learn to read my tags. I said very clearly that Vi can have a complicated relationship with gender. I never said she couldn't be transmasc or gnc or fluid I literally acknowledged all of that. What I said was: making her a man while keeping Caitlyn a woman erases lesbians. And yes, that’s a problem.
I’m trans. I’ve dated across the spectrum — trans men, trans women, nonbinary people. I’ve been open about that for years. My issue here has nothing to do with being “anti-trans” and everything to do with how people love to take the masculine woman in a sapphic ship and decide she must be a man. That’s a pattern. That’s a problem.
Vi is a woman. She's canonically referred to with she/her pronouns in both Arcane and League. She has a masculine presentation — and that’s part of what makes her so powerful in a sapphic context. Masculine women exist. Lesbians who look like Vi exist. And every time someone says “well she’s basically a man to me,” what you’re saying is “I don’t see masculine women as real women.”
That is lesbophobic. That is erasure.
This also refers to the fact that people always keep Caitlyn as a cisgendered woman. If both of them have a complicated relationship with gender? If it’s a little funky, if it’s a little queer-coded or strange — sure, queer culture runs deep, I know that. But I’m saying: when you make Vi a man and keep Caitlyn a cis woman, that erases lesbianism. Period.
Because — and I shouldn’t have to spell this out, but apparently I do — trans men are not lesbians. Trans men can relate to lesbianism. Trans men can have a past with it, trans men can engage in sapphic culture. But trans men. Are. Men. And the entire point of lesbianism is that there is no man in the relationship.
Yes, masculine people can be lesbians. Yes, nonbinary lesbians exist. No, I’m not debating the finer points of queer identity in this post because Tumblr dot com has forgotten what reading comprehension is. My issue — clearly stated — is: you make Vi the man because she’s masculine, and you keep Caitlyn the woman because she’s feminine. That’s the logic. That’s the pattern. And that’s why it’s f***ed.
Vi can absolutely be transmasc. Vi can be gender-nonconforming. Vi can have a weird little gender. But when you decide she's a man with a dick and Caitlyn is still a cis woman and it’s presented as a ship, yeah — that erases lesbianism. Straight up.
It feels misogynistic. It feels lesbophobic. Because what you're telling people is that masculine women are basically men and only feminine women get to stay women. That every sapphic dynamic must have a “man” and a “woman.” And that’s f***ed up.
I’m a masculine woman. I want to relate to Vi. I do relate to Vi. I don’t want her to be seen as a man because I am not a man. I want to know that I can be dominant, strong, protective, and masculine — and still be a woman. Vi gave us that. She was tough. She bound her chest. She protected Caitlyn. She was messy and tender and violent and soft. And she was still a woman. That matters.
So let me end it here: if you make one of the lesbians a man, and that one is the masculine one, and you keep the feminine one a woman — it is lesbophobic. It is misogynistic. You don’t have to like that, but you do have to own it.
And the wildest part? You had to hop onto a sideblog and misrepresent what I said in order to accuse me of transphobia, instead of just reading the post and tags like a grown adult. So maybe ask yourself why you felt the need to do all that mental gymnastics just to avoid engaging with the actual critique.
Grow up.

Fandom Problem #8044:
Dear Fandom,
Just because a character has a power to abuse an other character, that doesn't mean they will/it's in character for them to do so. Just because the character has a higher social status doesn't mean they are gonna take advantage of it or want to, or they'll be the boss in the relationship. Just to bring up a real life example: My grandma was more poor than my grandpa, yet she is definitily the one who wears the pants in the relationship.
Also just because the characters are the same age/they have a same job/same status in the society/are classmates that doesn't one of them can't abuse the other. I literally got abused by my classmate and she wasn't more rich or phisically stronger than me, because it was emotional manipulation. It's also not always the older that has more power. My brother got abused by someone 2 years younger than him.
I hate that this kind of nuance is often ignored in the shipping community. I can't count how many times I've seen people say that because both of the characters are adults, that means nobody can get abused in the relationship (like adults can't get abused, or if you're both around the same age, that means the relationship will be good and healthy no matter what), even if one of the characters would definitely abuse the other, because it would be in character for them, or better yet abuses them in canon already, but it gets denied, because they know each other since they were babies, and work at the same job.
Look, I don't mind this kind of shipping, but it bothers me that people treating them as the wholesome, healthy desirable ships, when they are infact not, or treating an another automatically abuse because one of the characters in a higher position of power, even though they never use it against their partner.
And then there is the one when the character canonically abusive both people in the lower position and their own people, but only the former gets acknowledged by some fans and they bully the shippers of the ship, and prop up their ship like some sort of untouchable treasure against it, even though abusing people in your own lane is still terrible, but they have to make it trauma olympics by guilttripping people that the trauma that makes them hate the former ship dynamic is "worse" than the latter situation, even though it shouldn't matter. They are both terrible in their own way in real life, so either both shippers should be allow to ship/cope with their ship ín a safe space or none of them.
I don't have a good sentence to finish this, but please use your brain and understand that your situation is not universal and you shouldn't dismiss other victims, just because their experiences don't align with yours or cope exactly the same as you.

LONG RANT!!!
I'm getting tired of people the stigma against Shadouge bro. Everytime I try to look into fanarts I instantly get hit with ridiculous comments about them almost everytime.
"X ship is better than this" its funny how anyone who uses this will immediately hit you with "that's just your opinion" when they're literally doing the same thing
"erm Rouge is already with Knuckles" okay??? This is fanfiction, it doesn't affect canon, stop acting like it does. its so weird how fans are surprised when a fanmade thing is actually made by fans (Also if im not mistaken, SEGA has some mandates for certain characters' relationships, and they do not allow romantic ones anymore. So Knuxouge isn't even canon either)
"They're siblings in canon/they canonically have a sibling dynamic" In no where has Sega even acknowledged that Shadow and Rouge have a *CANON* sibling relationship. Hell, there have even been writers in the past who have joked about Shadow touching Rouge's tits, to say that a family dynamic was intentional would be contradictory. The whole sibling thing is a massive headcanon within the fandom that got loose and people just assumed it was a real thing. (EDIT: Just wanted to add that official writer/artist Evan Stanley even ships Shadouge.)
"It erases Friendship representation!" The most stupidest arguement you'll ever hear. "you're shipping friends together, it's weird" "they're just friends and theyre better off like that, they shouldn't be shipped." Stop acting like it's erasing somebody's sexuality or shipping real people together or shipping incest because it's not. Friendship to lovers trope literally exists and it also doesn't erase canon.
The problem here are people taking ships and shipping WAY too seriously, especially since the sth franchise isn't even focused on romance. You'll get bombarded with obsessive fans and their ships talking to you about how "x is already with x" or "this ship is better than this ship" Honestly feel hypocritical and useless to rant about this considering there's nothing you can do about it and sonic fans will always be weirdos and ship discourses will always be in fandoms.

It seems that Elriels are coddling Elain too. Way too much.
Well- I see the stark difference between how Gwynriels treat Gwyn and Elriels treat Elain. While obviously they headcanon constantly of Azriel worshiping Gwyn and all that, they still acknowledge that they both aren't close now. That we'll first see them challange each other and that there's much to do before unlocking the level of trust. Although Gwynriel might be mates, there will be times in which they'll probably be cold to each other. It's a high possibility that Azriel will at least try to push her off, not wanting to share something personal about himself to someone he isn't even friends with. It's not bad, it should be part of their story. It's realistic that way. Gwynriels want an on page love story in which they want to see their relationship fully boom in one book.
But Elriels are convienced Azriel and Elain are in love. That Elain wants him and Azriel wants her despite what the bonus chapter says from Azriel's point of view. They're convienced that Azriel is basically a total simp for Elain, that he'd never even dare to underestimate and he already trusts her and so on... which is not canon. They explain Azriel's lack of feelings for her from the bonus chapter away. "Azriel hadn't thought of anything beyond fantasies cause he's scared of the future!" That wasn't included in his thought process. "Sexual attraction is normal" no one claims otherwise. "Azriel was willing to go on his knees for her" yes, to get the chance to taste her, not marry her. Attraction ≠ love. "If Azriel only wanted her for the mating bond, why would he go after a mated girl?" Azriel explained it himself: 3 brothers x 3 sisters. "4 books of build up" 4 books of suppose build up and he couldn't think of Elain as a person? And then they explain away the entire gwynriel half with the "Gwyn is evil" argument.
It's not just that, but they can't take the slightest inconvenience when it comes to Elain. You challange or insult her? You're evil. Oh, Elain looks uncomfortable? You're evil, even though you haven't done anything. You're telling the love of her life to stay away from her? You're evil. The love of her life is talking to you instead of her? You're evil.
I don't know how to explain it but it seems that Elain has no flaw and everything that is inconvenient in their eyes is evil. I don't ship Elriel, but if they were endgame, I'd at least want to see Elain get challanged or have some problems with Azriel (like what I had listed in for the Gwynriel part) or Elain herself having problems.
For example, Elain's friends. I don't see the wraiths ever challange Elain. The inner circle aren't pushing her either. They're just content with the soft and kind girl she is. And staying in the Night court for the rest of her life to be with her family? Idk about that...
But the BoE? Jurian and Vassa don't seem to be the coddling type at all. I can imagine Vassa coming off as mean to her and Jurian talking to her like everything is a joke to him and I can imagine Elain getting frustrated with that. They probably would challange her. Lucien would.
I guess they don't like that. Everyone has to be nice and friendly with Elain. That... isn't good for her growth.
I wouldn't go as far as to say that they don't care about Elain and are just self inserting. Their problem is that they love her and Elriel too much.
ALL the yeses. I'm going to copy and paste your different comments to address them: "It seems that Elriels are coddling Elain too. Way too much." Fully agree. Elain, in their eyes, needs protected from everything. She needs protected from Jurian because god forbid she be allowed to confront him face to face if she has a problem with something he said years ago (something she wasn't even around for), giving him the chance to explain how horrible he felt for making those comments but he needed Hybern to believe he hated the IC and giving her a chance to demonstrate empathy and undertanding. Elain in their eyes needs protected from Lucien and his looks that occur once every few months because she's too delicate to vocalize if it bothers her, that his presence bothers her. Elain in their eyes needs protected by Az and Nesta because there is absolutely nothing wrong with the fact that neither gave her credit for anything she did in the war. Not saving Az's life with the hounds, not for saving Briars life, Nesta's life, Cassian's life, for stopping the King. Honestly, they turn her into such a child it's concerning considering the very adult headcanons they have for when it comes to Az. And you're right, Gwynriels and Elucien's have no problem with Gwyn and Elain having it out with Az or Lucien. Two characters sitting around talking about surface level things suddenly declaring they're in love simply because Az gave Elain a dagger then listened to her talk about gardens leading to an almost makeout session after avoiding one another for a year is not even close to how Sarah writes her pairings. We want the real and the raw up front and that is when the characters can begin to fall, because that's when they'll have seen each other at their worst and will still want each other anyway.
"If Azriel only wanted her for the mating bond, why would he go after a mated girl?" This is how it all went. Az obsessed over Mor for centuries. Elain came into his life and he continued to obsess over Mor, with Rhys even saying he's been waiting for a mating bond to snap between them. He gave Elain TT and he continued to obsess over Mor. Mor continues rejecting Az and then one Solstice Elain gets Az a gift though that same evening he looked at Mor with heat and yearning. Mor heads to bed and Az ends up staying downstairs to listen to Elain talk about her gardens. Mor is then sent away to the continent for months at a time and suddenly Az does not have her to obsess over anymore so he turns his attention to Elain because she's there, she's single, she isn't paying attention to her mate, she got Az a gift last year and because his brothers are now getting paired off with two sisters. Az grows more jealous of his brothers being part of the "I got a sister" club while he was left out of having a mate so he naturally begins to wonder why it worked out that way? Why didn't he get the third sister when there were three of them and there are three brothers and Elain doesn't seem interested in Lucien? What if the mother was wrong because that math seems too perfect to Az. It's never been about Az having real feelings for Elain but of circumstance and his wondering why he didn't get what everyone around him got. First Mor's continued rejection of him, then Mor's absence from the NC, then of the realization that he got left out of what his brothers were given. I always thought the "Az questioned his religion for Elain!" statements were a bit strange. I'm agnostic but if you are religious....is it a good thing to be questioning your god / goddess / deity? I mean, yes, if that deity is written to be an asshole spreading hatred it would be a good thing but the Mother seems to be written as a positive force so Az questioning her seems to be a problem with Az losing his faith and learning to accept that the Mother knows better than him? That's kind of the theme of this book, isn't it? That the Mother is the guiding force of these characters and you shouldn't be pissy just because she didn't instantly give you the things others are getting? "I don't know how to explain it but it seems that Elain has no flaw and everything that is inconvenient in their eyes is evil." YES! You know a ship is problematic when all the good guys in this series are suddenly the bad guys simply because of their proximity to E/riel. Az shows admiration for Gwyn? She's EVIL! Elain might meet Jurian one day because he's her mate's friend who also lives with Vassa who Elain had a vision of? Jurian is VILE! Rhys prevented Az from using Elain like a sex doll when he couldn't even admit to thinking of a future with her or being over Mor? Rhys is an ASSHOLE for keeping two lovers apart (though I missed the memo on Elain having any actual feelings for Az). Lucien treats Elain with nothing but respect, allowing her to do whatever it is she wants with whoever she wants? Sarah should just KILL Lucien!!! Literally, every single character is suddenly an obstacle for E/riel. When has Sarah ever written something like that? Relationships that are meant to be are written so that the friends and family are supportive. Rhys had major issues with Nesta because of Feyre yet he still found a way to push Cassian and Nesta together. The fact that it's been books and the IC still has not brought out the best of Elain despite her attempts at fitting in just proves to me that she's not found her people. The clues the author has left us regarding the people Elain will most likely have a connection to in the future (Helion, Eris, Jurian, Vassa), will bring out the side of Elain that finally shows everyone why Sarah wanted to write a book about her.

together pt.1/?
ship: river (all souls) x gender neutral reader
warnings: vague mentions of drug dealing bc of canon i suppose
summary: river has some financial troubles. you want to help.
word count: 800+
Tumblr media
You're resting on River's worn-out sofa bed, like you do whenever you come over. River's place is a single bedroom and her baby comes first - Jade is already sleeping soundly in the bedroom. And you can ignore the springs digging into your back if it means River's laying beside you every night.
But right now, she's busy. River is counting crumpled bills at her dining table, sitting on a metal folding chair that's always been uncomfortable. A little from the dealings she runs, a little more for helping the cops, and the shitty tips from her diner job.
Her being a police informant is too dangerous for your liking. Especially with how it wraps River up in Silas's world again. River agreed with you every time you two talked about it but, in her words, what the hell can she do? She needs the money to keep the lights on, to keep her girl fed, needs Jade to be able to stay miles away from the shitshow that is her life. And, River added, the more she helps the police the closer that scum gets off the streets.
"Damn," River whispers to herself as she counts the final bill. "Barely enough to keep the lights on." But you hear her, and you can see that wrinkle between her brows. She's stressed - mind already whirring about how to make her paycheck stretch for the week. Your girl takes on way too much by herself.
"Hey," you say. You get up from the sofa and make your way over to her, sliding an arm across River's shoulders.
"Mm," she murmurs back in acknowledgement. River lifts her head up so that your lips graze against the tattoo on her neck. "Sorry, it's just-" she sighs, "a lot. But I'll figure something out. I always do."
"No, no. I'll pitch in." You don't say it like an offer, knowing that River's pride would make her refuse, but as a statement. You'd take care of her. You'd take care of them both if she let you.
River has been independent since she was a kid, practically, so young when she had Jade. She had dropped out and had taken whatever jobs she could, and after her mom passed River has been doing it virtually alone. Learning that it's alright to depend on you has been a struggle for her.
River pauses. "You sure?" You've offered before, and River always turned it down. It's your money, she'd tell you. The fact that she doesn't refuse immediately tells you that she's more comfortable relying on you already. It warms your heart.
The answer's easy. You don't hesitate to say "of course", leaning down to kiss her again.
It's slow and a little sweet, the tang from the Monster she just downed hitting your lips. Your tongue darts out to lick it away and River makes this cute little noise at the back of her throat. The pressure of River's kiss is like a soothing balm. When she pulls away, though, you can see that the money problems are still on her mind.
Leaning her head on your shoulder, she sets down the bills she was tallying and rubs her tired eyes. It's a mix of emotions. Gratitude for the roof over their heads, frustration at the unending struggle to make ends meet. And above all, River has determination to provide a better life for her daughter. She knows accepting this offer would be for the best. And she trusts you.
"Alright. But I don't really know what to let you help with," River admits. She already has enough, if barely, to cover the bills. With a little more pocket change from you, she could actually have some savings for a rainy day. You two wouldn't have to sleep every night on a sofa she found off the side of the road.
"I dunno. Anything," you say.
River looks over her apartment as if seeing it for the first time. The coffee table has cigarette burns and crayon scribbles. Toys are strewn all over the floor but the walls are empty, save for Jade's drawings. The cabinets never close properly. There's only two chairs at the dining table. That was enough for when it was just the two of them, but with you around... maybe River can dream of sharing meals together as a family. You'd stick around for breakfast instead of slipping out before Jade wakes up.
"You think we can get a little something to make the place more homey?" she asks. "I think I'd like that."
You grip her tighter, whispering promises against River's skin. Dreaming for more is hard in a world like this. But you hope against hope that you being around will make River see that it's alright. That dreams can come true.
You hold her close, surrounded by the faint scent of her perfume and the quiet hum of the city outside. "I'd love to. We'll make it happen," you whisper. You'll make anywhere home as long as you're by each other's sides. "Together."

Omega huffed as she stared at the crashed ship in front of her. "This will take forever to repair."
The top had been ripped off during their crash landing, and the engine was smoking. Batcher whined and jumped out, pacing the bare ground.
"No. There's no time for that," Crosshair said.
Omega turned to look at him. "We need to get the nav reader online to extract the coordinates to Tantiss for when we go back."
The sniper left the ship, backpack over his shoulders. "We're not going back."
Omega stood. "We left the other prisoners behind."
"And the Empire is going to be searching for this ship and us. We have to move. I scanned a spaceport a few clicks east. We'll start there."
Omega sighed. Her breath frosted in the air. It was cold on this planet. She jumped out and followed Crosshair, Batcher with them.
                        •°•°•°•°•
Omega held Batcher to her side as she and Crosshair hid behind a pillar from a few stormtroopers.
"Empire couldn't have followed us here that quickly," she whispered.
"They didn't," Crosshair told her. "That's a standard patrol presence."
The girl furrowed her brow. "Okay. So, let's find a way to send a message to Hunter, Wrecker, and Althea."
Crosshair looked at her. "We can't. They monitor long-range comms. It'll give us away. We'll have to figure out something else."
He took a step forward into the open, but Omega grabbed him. "Wait. We can't walk around like this." She gestured to their prison garb. "We'll draw too much attention."
"You're the one who wanted to bring the hound." Crosshair pointed out.
Batcher whined a nuzzled Omega. The blonde scoffed and scratched the beast's neck. "Don't listen to him. Come on."
Omega ran down the street, Crosshair following soon after. The girl snagged some clothes off a laundry line that were warm and would disguise them. Then, they went to the space port.
Crosshair wanted to storm the place, but Omega had a different idea.
"Hello." She approached the clerk. "We'd like two tickets on the next shuttle, please."
"Chain codes?" He asked.
"About that. We lost our chain codes," the girl lied.
"No chain codes, no passage."
Omega hummed. "Right. But you see, a problem for us could be an opportunity for you if, say, you knew of an alternate way–" she rubbed her fingers together. "–of booking passage without a chain code?"
The clerk leaned forward and lowered his voice. "Are you insinuating that I should take a bribe?"
"If that's what you want to call it." Omega smirked.
"I do. And that could be arranged... for 15,000 credits."
The girl blew out a breath. "For two tickets??"
"Per ticket. And it's nonnegotiable. You're lucky I'm not charging extra for the creature."
"Where do you expect us to get 30,000 credits?" Omega asked.
The clerk folded his arms. "Sounds like a you problem. Don't come back without the credits."
Omega sighed and turned around, walking back to Crosshair.
"Well, that went well," he said.
"Stow it."
                        •°•°•°•°•°•°•
Crosshair didn't know how Omega planned on getting 30,000 credits, but he sure wasn't expecting her to gamble for them. He definitely wasn't expecting her to actually get the money too.
But then an Imperial walked in. An officer. Crosshair coughed to signal Omega. The girl made no sign of acknowledgement.
She looked to the Trandoshan she was playing with, who was begging for another game.
"I think I'll quit while I'm ahead," she said, gathering her funds.
But the Imperial walked over to her. "Leaving so soon?" He jerked his head at the Trandoshan. "You're in my seat."
He groaned and left. Omega eyed the new man warily.
"So, you think you're good at this game?" He asked. "Want to try against a, uh, real opponent? I insist."
Omega, realizing she didn't have a choice, conceded.
Batcher growled at the man, rightfully so.
"Your mutt don't seem to like me," he said as they played.
Omega didn't look up from her cards. "She's harmless."
"She's a distraction. Get rid of her."
Omega knew there was no negotiating with this guy. She nodded to Crosshair, who clicked his tongue to get the dog to come.
"Never seen you or your dad around before," the Imp mused.
"We're just passing through," the girl told him.
He laid down a card, and the crowd became more attentive.
"Looks like the captain is heading towards a victory," the bartender droid noted.
"Eh, I'll admit, you're not bad. But you seem to have misunderstood your enemy." The captain smirked.
"Did I?" Omega laid down three colorful cards. It was her turn to smirk.
"The three Eastern Stars," the droid announced. "That is game over."
"I'll take those 20,000 credits," Omega said.
A stormtrooper walked over, but the captain waved him off. "I concede. You beat me fair and square. Nicely played."
Omega smiled as he walked away. "Thanks." She scooped her winnings into her bag and walked over to Crosshair. They were home free.
Or so they thought. "Now, hang on a minute," the Imperial said, stopping them. "We're not done here. You haven't paid your fine."
Omega furrowed her brow. "What fine?"
"Gambling's illegal in these parts."
"What?" Crosshair snarled.
"The law is the law," said the captain. "Now, all you gotta do is pay the fine. And I'll be on my way."
"How much?" Omega asked.
"Ten thousand credits. Unless you prefer to be arrested instead."
Omega conceded, shoving the required money into his hand.
"Excellent. Consider your fine paid in full. Try and stay out of trouble."
Omega sighed as he walked away. "Let's get out of here."
Crosshair stopped her with a hand on her shoulder. "How many credits do we have left?"
She checked her bag. "Thirty-five thousand. Enough for two tickets on the shuttle and a little extra."
                        •°•°•°•°•°•°•°•
They never did end up using those credits. The slimy Imperial had taken Batcher, and Omega refused to leave without her. In the end, they did Crosshair's plan and blasted their way out, stealing a ship in the process.
Omega piloted through hyperspace, Batcher sitting at her feet.
"The Empire will be able to track this vessel," Crosshair told her. "We need to ditch it."
The girl nodded. "We will. I'm heading to a remote location, and I sent a coded transmission for Hunter, Thea, and Wrecker to meet us there."
Batcher whined at her feet. A sinking feeling settled in Crosshair's stomach. "Omega," he said slowly. "It's... It's been months. You don't know if they're still aliv–"
"They'll be there." The determination in her eyes... She was so sure.
Omega dropped the ship from hyperspace, flying to a grey moon. On the surface was something she wasn't sure she would ever see again.
The Havoc Marauder.
She landed the ship and went out to the ramp. Then she saw them.
Wrecker and Althea stood in the door. The older teen's hair was shorter, but her eyes were the same.
"Now, there's a sight!" Wrecker shouted.
Omega couldn't hold back her tears. "Wrecker! Thea!"
They ran for each other, finally embracing. Wrecker scooped up both girls in the tight hug spinning them around. When he set them down, Althea held Omeha close.
"I wasn't even sure your message was real," she murmured. She chuckled tearfully, tugging at Omega's curls tied back. "You changed your hair."
Omega laughed, tears rolling down her cheeks. "So did you!"
Wrecker knelt down, pulling them all together.
"I knew you'd show up," Omega sniffed.
Wrecker pulled away, wiping his eyes. "We crossed the galaxy four times looking for you."
"Five."
Omega looked behind her brother to see another standing in the ship. "But you're the one who found us."
Omega took a step forward, then another, and before she knew it she was running into Hunter's arms.
The tracker ran down the steps, skipping some to get to her faster. She collapsed into him, wrapping her arms around his neck.
Hunter held her close, cradling her head against him. "We missed you, kid. We never stopped searching." He had to tell her. She had to know they never gave up on her. That their fruitless attempts were not for lack of effort.
Omega sobbed into his neck, her breaths shuddering when she finally pulled away. Hunter brushed her hair – which was now as long as his – out of her eyes. Her face was dirty, the only clean parts being the streaks from tears.
Hunter rested his hands on her shoulders. As happy as he was to see her, a nagging question rose.
"But how did you escape?"
Omega chuckled. "I had help."
Then, Hunter saw him. From the ship Omega arrived in stood a familiar figure. Hunter rose to his feet, his instincts screaming to get the girls behind him.
Crosshair had come too.

Back to my roots
Shipping and RWBY, let's do it :3
"I just don't see it man, it came out of no where" "I dunno it felt forced to me 🤷🏻" "their only even slightly romantic was after they killed Adam"
Okay lemme stop you get it. This post is about Bumblebee :3... And that last one is giving antis too much credit I've seen people even calling Yang tenderly holding Blake's face and pressing their foreheads together a purely platonic gesture 😊 Now, I’m gonna show you some screenshots, and 1 gif, and you tell me if they look like Just Friends, okay?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mm hmm, mm hmm, got your answer? Good. If you chose ‘Nope they’re still just friends 🤷🏻’ then you are both wrong AND delusional, I’m sorry, would you like to try again ☺️ Hehe I still get giddy when I see the kiss :3
Anyways, let’s go pic by pic. The first one, you don’t cup your friends cheek tenderly to steady and hold their gaze. I dare you to cup your friends cheek and tilt their head up. And if they’re not weirded out, they’ll think you were confessing your feelings. And if that happens congrats on your new relationship 😊. The second one. LOOK at how Yang is looking at her! ._. Those are the most obvious ‘FUCK ME’ eyes I’ve ever seen .-. The third one. I once again dare you to cup your friend’s cheek and press your foreheads together. It’s just… objectively NOT a platonic gesture 😶. The fourth one. Look at how content and relieved Yang is to see Blake and have her in her arms. The fifth one… Now I know y’all are not the brightest but I REALLY doubt I have to tell you that that’s not a platonic moment between besties 😊
And that’s just with pictures. I haven’t even gotten to the thing I can write about .-. So, shall we? :3 Who remembers the scene after Sun is stabbed and Blake rants to him about why she’s always alone and pushing people away? Good, good. Now, if you rewatch that scene, you’ll notice that throughout the speech she IS emotional. But her voice only breaks and wavers when she says Yang’s name. The same thing happens with Yang when she talks to Weiss about Blake. It becomes clear that she's not really angry at BLAKE. She's angry because Blake didn't TELL her anything. Because sheeee...? Loves her and wants to support her, very good. Blake and Yang are the DEFINITION of pining in volume 5 .-. Like, look at how they look at each other at the end of Volume 5 when they see each other again ._.
Tumblr media
Sheer AWE. I don't even think they had this much awe on their face when they saw Jin and Ambrosius. Ya know... Who are basically Gods?
In conclusion, please LORD stop being delusional about the Bees. It's FINE if you don't ship them, as long as you're not a douche bag about it, it's FINE if you prefer Black Sun. It's FINE. No one CARES what you ship. It's a PROBLEM when you're an ASSHOLE about it >_> You can ship your ships while ACKNOWLEDGING that Yang and Blake are canonically girlfriends now.

You are so right. For the first time ever, I block quite a lot of my moots in twitter and tumblr. I can't believe all the things they said about BNHA (especially Izuku). Personally, I love all the events until now. Do I have complain here and there for a certain characters? Yes, of course I do, but that does not made me hate BNHA. Izuku is a great character and one of my favorite protagonist from all media....Also, as BKDK shipper, I love all the canon moments between Izuku and Katsuki (sorry if maybe you're a fan of Izuku but dislike bakudeku ship).
You know I don't hate IzuOcha ship (I think it's kinda cute) but I do dislike most of their fan right now. One of my ex moots said, "Damn with this events in BNHA. F*ck, at least Midoriya will end up with Uraraka. If somehow Midoriya don't end up with her and only thinking of Bakugou, damn I don't follow this series for the gay sh*ts...."
Like, I'm mad and sad when reading that... For me, I wish Izuku don't end up with anyone at the end of the series (as much as I love BKDK ship, I know it's impossible to be canon). Don't you think it will be funny if there is plot twist and somehow Ochaco end up with Shoto?
That very last bit right there. "... I wish Izuku don't end up with anyone at the end of the series", that?
I've felt that exact feeling since I got into BNHA.
You and I mostly do have the exact same feelings.
Starting with the ships, neither I have a problem with. I have ships just as much as the next problem, but the past year or so has taught me that when it comes to ships, some people don't actually see the characters as individuals and only seem to care about that characters for the sake of their ship.
Which sucks because I feel that takes away a lot of understanding the story. When you don't understand the character's story from their personality to their backstory to their growth, most likely you're not going to understand the overall story.
I hate seeing things like "Well, at least Uraraka will end up with Midoriya" because that just tells me that the person is maybe here for the shipping and that's it and don't care about either character.
Like, why are people so eager to see Uraraka become a wife and have kids? She is a, what, 16 year old girl who wants to be a hero! I want to see her be a hero!
And look, I know BakuDeku got some amazing moments together and some really would make someone go "I ship it". I don't hate it, some of you who followed me long enough know I don't. But at the same time, let's acknowledge they are separate characters. Yes, they're almost like a package deal because they've been in each other's lives since forever. They're going to be intertwined like that.
But come on! How about individually?? Midoriya became my favorite easily and not because of Bakugou.
Like, again, I'm for shipping. I got my ships. But it's not the ships that annoy me (unless otherwise like... *shivers*), it be the shippers.
And yeah, sometimes for any story I read I may have a complaint or two, but I will never understand people who built their whole blogs around "critiquing" and nothing else. Like, damn, how fucking perfect you want the story to be?
In fact, write a story that doesn't get anyone coming at you with something they don't like about it. Impossible. Because someone is going to have something they don't like about it.
Those people will have "takes" and then I just know they have read the story at all. They would miss details or misinterpret the characters how they want them to be looked at and still have no idea what they're talking about.
This fandom, some of the people can be fuckong switch ups, I swear.
So first, Midoriya is too emotional and a crybaby and it's obvious that his flaw was just emotional driven he can be. But now it's a fucking problem he's expressing his emotions at an appropriate time? It's a damn issue he isn't crying for a gag?
Y'all got to be fucking kidding me. This is the same fandom who at a time didn't give a damn about the villains. Who were like "they don't deserve redemption, they should die" even after learning their backstories. And now y'all want to advocate for them? Actually mad even though the story is not even completely done yet?!
I wouldn't say I'm an expert on BNHA or any story I read up. At the end of the day, I am just a fan who happens to be very entertained. I'm here to have fun. But the way this fandom, that fandom and every other fandom be acting makes me feel like I'm reading some whole other manga, watching some different copy of an anime.
[Note: okay, I did giggle at the thought of Horikoshi doing that with Uraraka and Todoroki. I doubt it would happen and I'm not saying it should... it's just funny to me because just yesterday I was thinking something similar with two different characters.]

Hey! This is Anon from the "love OC's ask". I just wanted to thank you for defending the OC's from idtiots on internet. Like the post Amor made about Scarecrow's work still being used was such fun thing to read. To have someone call it cringe just because they add something about they OC in regard to the post is upsetting. They even added warning before OC part so people can skip it! I adore Amor headcanons either they are about Jonathan or her OC and relationships with them. But why do you think Scarecrow has such toxic part of fanbase? Like they even don't acknowledge his "canonical" comic partners. Like Sherry Squires was big part of Masters of fear! Jonathan or Linda Friitawa and her relationship with Scarebeast! Jonathan? Why are some people so mad that Jonathan has a partner, be it canonical, OC or self insert?
Misogyny and fetishization is your answer, as mentioned in a previous ask. This isn't just Scarecrow, it's any and all shippable male characters. If given the choice between shipping two males who (more often than not) never interact / absolutely hate each other, or shipping a canon male/female ship, they're gonna ship the gay stuff.
Look, I have absolutely nothing against shipping an lgbtqia+ pair, but don't think you're being sneaky when you very obviously ignore or erase canon in any capacity to make your ship work. Note, this isn't just a problem in the rogues fandom, it's ALL fandoms. (it can also be said that erasing a characters culture or skin tone falls into the same bucket of oh fuck no. Ever see people complain about Damian Wayne being drawn to look white? It's a real issue; and not just in comics)
This is a multifaceted issue. The majority of pop culture is straight and white. Obviously we're getting better. I see more gay ships in popular shows, I see more non-white characters with real stories and lives that aren't used for a racist joke ala family guy
I totally get wanting to explore dynamics of different ships, or shipping what you as a person are attracted to. That is always OKAY. Wanting to see yourself as the hero, for example, is okay. Characters like Tiana did SO MUCH for children who previously didn't see themselves as a disney princess.
Let it be known, your average gay male ship isn't an issue. Nor are most fandoms or people in said fandoms. Most people genuinely just ship for fun. Many are multi shippers. Many have m/f and m/m and that's being really general and not mentioning trans ships!
Its when very loud minority send death threats and tell others to commit suicide because they're shipping a female presenting self insert with a popular male character in a fandom dominated by a certain gay ship.I was once told in an anon ask that I should give up talking about my OC because why would Scarecrow love her when he has Riddler? Riddler is SO MUCH better, nobody cares about my stupid OC!
That's not why I stopped, but it didn't help
Not only that, but men in general greatly dislike popular female characters, not so much for shipping reasons but because they can't imagine a world were men are not in the spotlight. And then there's the problem of straight women blatantly creating fetish content about gay men.
it's a huge can of worms, there's so many strings attached to this issue. I honestly don't know if I am giving the problem justice.

Z*kka is a very good example I like to use when I talk about how trend, timing and tropes effect fandoms that you don't see happen in older fandoms
The ATLA renaissance happened during the same time the Voltron trainwreck happened. At the same time, certain tropes like opposites attract, blue/red gays etc are insanely popular. Almost every big thing falls into this easy category of who fits who in their incorrect quotes or popular tropes and ship dynamic.
And Z*kka fits the bill. Silly/Serious? Check. Conventionally attractive guys? Check. Blue/Red? Check. On paper, they sound like any other popular ships that technically speaking would make at least a decent ship.
Except they don't. Because they're from a 3 seasons show where they canonically don't have that much meaningful interaction, barely any acknowledgement of each other, and they just don't have chemistry. They DON'T. Just because they LOOK like they fit on the surface level doesn't mean they actually do. Sometimes opposites don't attract. Sometimes the characters who fall easily into a ship dynamic aren't actually compatible.
The ship is solid proof that modern fandoms these days prioritize surface level things over what canon actually gives them. I UNDERSTAND why some people like z*kka, but it DOES NOT deserve the level of popularity it receives! And the fact it became one of the most popular ships in ATLA because the voltron fans project kl*nce into the ship is IMO disheartening. They already choose what they wish to see instead of appreciating what these characters got and who they actually connect with in canon.
I know I sound pretentious, but I really can't stand these kinds of fans because of how much they REFUSE to engage in canon. Tropes are nice. Having preferences is not a crime. But actively forcing your own vision into canon just because they fit your tastes in the most shallow way possible is just sad. Why bother engage in any new media then? Why not actually pick up something that actively fits your taste?
You said it all, Anon!
I seriously had no idea where Zukka even came from until recently.
It wasn't a thing when the show was airing and then suddenly it just exploded out of nowhere. I was so baffled. I was like "why this?" Of all the slash ships people could have latched onto. Jetko is right there. Hell, even Zukaang and Sokka/Aang make way more sense.
You're so right, people just base everything off """vibes""" or aesthetics, or just jump on the bandwagon when a ship/headcanon gets popular without giving it any real thought. And because Zukka is just a copy+paste version of Klance, they just wind up wildly ooc and it's like they're two entirely different characters. I have to ask myself if these people even like Zuko or Sokka independently...
And for the record, I don't think you sound shallow at all. The enforcement of popular headcanons as canon is a problem in all fandoms, but it's especially bad in this one.
If it sounds like I'm pointing the finger solely at Zukka shippers, I'm not. Zutara shippers are just as bad, if not worse. As are those who shove the idea of lesbian Azula down everyone's throats.
It's just fucking exhausting.
Ship whatever you want. Headcanon whatever you want. Just stop torturing all of us with it.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
That he exists. He's wonderful.
That aside, I've always loved his fascination with nature. I remember being 13 and suddenly seeing the world with new eyes because of him, appreciating things I've never spared a second glance before, because I realized Prowl would find them beautiful. And he's so right. The world is so beautiful. I was fundamentally changed back then and now I am the person I am because of him.
And that said - I also love that he's not always written as the "stoic and super-skilled cool ninja". He's goofy. He's clumsy. Not a lot, but just enough for him to feel like he's just some guy trying his best, still learning, you can tell sometimes that he has never actually finished his training. I love the way he progresses throughout the series, starting out as a loner who just recently wound up with the rest of the team by chance and isn't really one of them, to a member of the family who loves those guys and would do anything for them.
He's great. He's amazing. I need to stop myself before this turns into a full essay. Ily Prowl

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in?
I don't have anything specific in mind, my brain cell is too transformers focused to even acknowledge the existence of any other media lmao. Also all the non-tf media I consume is so dark, I wouldn't do that to him, he doesn't deserve it. I'd like to put him inside a nature documentary so he could experience it first hand though. I think he'd enjoy that.
Tumblr media
7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
I love that so many people draw him with animals, especially birds. And cats. That's awesome. Good for him but also good for me because Bird reference!
Tumblr media
8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?
All the shipping lmao I'm sorry. Especially with a certain little guy. I filtered the tag and half the Prowl tag just vanished gdi I just want to see my man 😭
Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to police what anyone can or can't ship, and I'm fully aware that being non-sharing is a me problem, but that doesn't make it any less bothersome. I just want to look at Prowl. There's by far not enough content out there of him, and believe you me, I've looked 😔
Tumblr media
22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to this character? Something you don't like?
I don't really read a lot of fic with him in it, mainly because I haven't found a lot of Prowl fics that focus on him. Aside from a whole lot of fics where he's shipped with other characters, but that's not for me. I'm an x reader truther but good food is rare. On one hand it's probably good he's not more popular since I don't like to share him, but on the other hand where is my content. I am starving.

no Edwina is married to an Indian and lives in her hometown in India, free my girl from the inbred prince who’s best characteristic is being “nice”, you losers clinging onto that white man when it’s canon she’s happy living her best life with a desi is sus af, I know what you are
Well, unless it was stated differently in s3 pt 2 (which I haven't seen except for small clips, none of which involve Edwina) then I stick by my point. Mr. Bagwell hasn't even been added or mentioned in the show, if that's who you are referring too (again, haven't seen s3 pt 2). I've shipped Edwina with a variety of characters, whether it be from Eloise to Friedrich or the original guy she marries in the books (who I also headcanon as Desi even if I don't talk about him much on this app) to Marina to even other random ocs, but Friedrich was the just main guy. It was never about race in hindsight but more because I wanted her to be a princess, which she deserves. It's kind of sus that, from all I've posted which was merely just fun headcanons, you thought it was something it wasn't. 🤔
I don't even know why you even came here being rude about a headcanon that, on one spectrum, is purely for enjoyment and on the other, about giving Edwina the respect she deserves (most of the Fredwina fans I interact with give her more development following s2 outside of even mentioning Friedrich, so it's not as if her whole persona is now revolving around this yte man). If you don't ship them, that's fine and, to be honest, I would have even enjoyed to see who you paired her with (because other people I follow sometimes ship her with someone outside the prince as well, not everyone has to like him) until you decide to get hostile and refer to me, and others, as "losers". If you don't even ship them, then why not block the Fredwina tag altogether? I know what you are, apparently.
I get not liking or really caring for Friedrich, as most of his character showwise is very simple and what is added comes from the fandom headcanon itself. You're entitled to that. But don't come to my page and try to write off something that brings me joy and amusement occasionally as something it's not, just because it doesn't suit your fancy. Is there a trope in fandom that happens with placing black and brown women with a yte man, especially in historical pieces, and the many murky, gross things surrounding it? Yes, I can acknowledge that and, in a way, see your apprehension for it in that manner. However, which you would see if you've even looked through my blog especially in regards to Fredwina instead of immediately writing it off, the ship itself does not fall into that trope (most from what I've seen and interacted with, so if you found something else then please share) and many of the Fredwina fans that I know have actively taken the time to display the importance in Edwina's heritage rather than write it off (I also literally have post that call out the show itself for how poorly it handled certain topics like this, so why would I be backing a ship that holds the problems that you so claim? 🤨) Again, if you don't ship them that's fine, but don't try to paint it (and random people you don't know with little evidence) as something it's/they are not. Have a good day.

(order is totally fucked, pretty sure some messages are missing but anyway)
So, am i the one giving a vitriolic knee-jerk reaction bc of your post or are you doing that bc i disagreed with you?
There are SO MANY people who talk shit about you with "how you think you're the authority about Levi". Exact words. Not mine! :) I thought they were wrong before, actually. But you wanted to prove them right, huh?
"im not saying his stoicism is fake except im saying his stoicism is fake" - you
"im not woobiefying him except i'll write a paragraph woobiefying him after i block you" - you
"trauma has to define his entire personality" - you
"oh no you disagreed with me so now im gonna have an entire breakdown in tags acting like you killed my dog and throw out accusations based on absolute nothing except my butthurt" - also you
it's not my fucking problem you took my criticism of eruris personally just bc you ship eruri and you have been seething for moooonths without ever expressing anything to me. you've been having discourse w them on no ends and criticizing their fanon and that's the reason i followed you, as i said, i always knew you shipped it bc 1) i saw you say it looong ago 2) YOU HAD YOUR AO3 LINK IN YOUR PROFILE LMFAO????? if you were SO bothered, you could have always blocked, SB'd, or told me that you didn't vibe with my eruri hate. anyways, i don't have any problem with eruris who don't reduce levi to erwin or degrade him to derive ego wank, which unfortunately, happens to be %0.000000001 of eruris and that's the problem :') clearly i agree with some of your levi takes, also clearly disagree w some, but i didn't think it worth mentioning until a new post got shoved right into my face where you call his stoicism is a coping mechanism, which is a heavily questionable hc to begin with, let alone acting like it's canon (and you did). Yes, it is objective woobiefication. Shoving words in my mouth like "blah blah homophobia sexist blah blah no respect for traumatized men blah blah femininity" the biggest fucking projection ive seen in my life. Where the fuck am i being sexist or homophobic? Acknowledging his personality is a problem now? And if you're making someone's entire character revolve around their trauma then you're the one being disrespectful. Why sexism? Do you think it's feminine to have emotions? Or do you want him to "have emotions" in a feminine way and you're just projecting?
"levi is an emotional man" Well, he isn't. Levi has emotions, he's passionate, kind, heroic, idealistic. "Emotional" has different connotations.
Tumblr media
The only thing that would apply to levi is being passionate tbh (which i don't think you're going for, somehow :^))
So, I agree w all of that: he's kind, cares about people, deeply affected by deaths - but you pretend that i don't, bc your problem isn't that anyone acknowledges levi has "emotions" or not, what you want is something else entirely and people not validating that obviously bothers you very, very badly. also, i've never seen anyone argue levi is emotionless yet ive seen 429894234 posts trying to prove he's emotional and it's always the same type of person. Now why's that?
oh and the source

And I'll admit that the previous ask was about something specific that I saw from someone specific - But the issue I was ranting about is nowhere near exclusive to this one case.
I have seen attitudes like this from almost all Jonsa bloggers, and even though my consistent reaction was "Alright, at this point you guys are starting to get into headcanon territory with how disproportionate your readings of the text are." I never really said anything about it as those blogs were my only access to asoiaf meta written by non-Targ fans back then.
The problem isn't even that these people have such interpretations, they can make House Stark as 'savage' as they want in their headcanons, I don't give a fuck. But people like this have decently big platforms to showcase their readings on, which influences a non-small group people to immediately switch to the same view as the blogger - Without any hint or crumb of acknowledgement that these interpretations are bordering headcanon - since anyone who knows enough Big Words to write a meta piece is seen and treated as some kind of thought leader in this fandom. (And depending on the niche you're from, you might get branded as politically incorrect for... daring to disagree with their readings.)
You also hit the nail on the head of something that bothers me, the way they word things. I've noticed that too, that they write in a way that is very intellectually structured. Sometimes I've genuinely struggled to follow because it feels like I'm reading something from a textbook. Long, big worded, high vocabulary posts that make it hard to argue against because the way they write their arugments is so complicated to disect sometimes. Which is intentional.
It's almost like a debate strategy. You speak so much and on so many topics that the other side cannot possibly respond to all of it reasonably, and thus you look smarter and right by proxy. A lot of those posts do that, and I have never really enjoyed that style of analysis. Especially when you look at their blogs as a whole and you realize they are coming from a very biased perspective, normally when it's either a targ/dany/jonerys stan, or a Jonsa. It feels like you're just trying to speak to someone who is looking to dismiss you before you can even say you disagree.
I don't need something to be canon to accept people ship it, but a lot of Jonsa's get very defensive when you point out the lack of genuine evidence for any kind of possibility of a ship. They do not like being told there is no proof for their ship, so they go on long, overly complicated meta analysis to back up points that they don't have.
Very typically these people do not care about Jon as a character, the only care about him as a vehicle to expand Sansa's story (i.e a lot of Jons scenes are apparently full of Sansa subtext but none of Sansa's scenes have anything to do with Jon what so ever because she is her own character whose life doesnt revolve around him). They dislike that her story is not heading towards any kind of leadership, so they interpret everything as bad faith as possible to put forth the idea that Jon is wrong for leadership because he represents the part of the North that needs to change.
I know some people that ship it that are mostly normal, but so much of that shipping base is full of people who are just using Jon and the North as props for making Sansa's story go in the direction they want, rather then the direction her story is actually headed.
Which makes me thing there is a degree of Jonsa shipping that is doing a lot of self inserting rather then interacting with the Sansa that actually exists.

o1. overview.
hello! this is an independent, private, and somewhat selective roleplay blog for sunday of hoyoverse's honkai star rail. this means that i will only interact with mutuals. it's also heavily canon divergent, meaning that i will take lots of liberties with their story! this is a temporary rules page. please only follow if you are 18+! i will not write with muns who are minors.
i want it to be clear that i very rarely follow people first. im shy and forgor a lot.
i also do something a bit different from how others treat their blogs. affiliates and mains are considered part of sunday's canon. if said persons character is mentioned, im specifically referencing that blogs portrayal. please talk to sunday about them!
o2. don't follow if.
i won't tolerate any sort of bigotry here. If you're a "proshipper," a homophobe, racist, transphobe, etc. you will be blocked. the same goes for people who continue to support these people. if you ship kaeluc, yaeyato, sunrobin or kamisatocest especially or knowingly support or interact with those that do, you will be blocked on sight, i hate you, it is 100% personal. i do NOT give a fuck if you're "neutral" on it, its still terrible.
do not misgender me or my muse, sunday uses they/them EXCLUSIVELY (its important as it relates to their connection with aeonhood) and if you do you will be blocked.
o3. drama.
please don't bring stupid drama on the dash. calling out racism and the like isn't "drama," and i will warn everyone now that i am pro-callout, but i don't really want to see pointless vagues that give people anxiety. i do not call people out unless they're next to the worst person on earth, but if others are racist especially or any other terrible thing and get called out, i WILL reblog it. this is your warning.
o4. activity.
i have a chronic medical condition. it may take me a while to reply to you, as i won't write if i'm not feeling well. i'm also autistic and bipolar, so writing also depends heavily on my moods, energy levels, time, and other, similar things. if i haven't replied to a thread that you would really like a reply to, you are welcome to remind me up to twice. please do not ask me about it more than twice (unless we're close friends) as this will make me feel pressured and rushed and i will block.
o5. shipping.
this blog is uhh... complicated. i currently only ship with touya (@kayoroi, @midokai), and am not looking for more ships at the moment. your muse is welcome to crush on them (and really, who wouldn't, they're beautiful) but sunday will probably not return the feelings. also, not that it really matters since im not intending to ship, but sunday is bi (heavy male preference) and that may come up here and there in threads. he is also trans.
o6. closing.
i don't send in passwords, but if i follow you, i promise i've read your rules. i do not get dupe anxiety, so other sunday blogs are free to follow. i block extremely liberally so if you're blocked feel free to ask to unblock.
please tag asphyxiation, images of insects/spiders, sexual assault/csa, and body horror. you can tag these individually or use my catchall, "eevee don't look". if i remind you more than once and you continue not to tag it, i will block.
my icon border was commissioned by aria @gfx and my icon psd was made by my bestie inu @kayoroi! (mobile header and pinned post psd were made by me) i usually format and use icons because i like to, but you don't have to format anything with me, and i may drop some of the formatting if i'm feeling lazy. art credits

Tumblr media
Actually thanks so much for saying this LMAO I'm gonna go on a very long tangent you may already have considered(?) but this is also for people that haven't.
This was a genuine question derived from an analysis of his character, I just re-framed it here for tumblr to be more meme-like (hence the last option of the poll). I 100% see what you're saying and agree — but I also see what (some) Jimmy fans are saying. (I must clarify that in what I'm about to say, trauma isn't the only reason someone might like his character nor should you ask ANYONE about trauma they went through without their explicit consent to do so - one reason I like him is trying to figure out why he does things, though some I still cannot figure out for the life of me.. though I acknowledge I don't like him the same way other people do. I just like dissecting his character) Some people use fiction and fictional characters like this to get through traumas they may not have fully processed, or as a way to better understand the character, a similar person in their lives, etc.
Trauma processing can look very different for different people and different traumas. For example, someone who experienced SA playing the game may loathe Jimmy and hate Curly for doing effectively nothing to help out Anya (I have theories on why he didn't do anything but it usually boils down to him wanting as few consequences as possible for himself and/or crew) and want to shoot Jimmy while another person who experienced SA might write or read fanfics about Jimmy SAing Anya and/or the aftermath of it as a way to cope with their own trauma(s).
I talked to my friend yesterday about these kinds of interpretations and stuff too! It's generally an "us vs. them" mentality especially when it comes to takes like "if you like this character for any reason get off the Internet." I agree it is absolutely a game that needs to be looked at with scrutiny of Jimmy, and I think everyone should at minimum acknowledge that he is canonically a dirt bag that borders on a realistic person with a LOT of problems he refuses to deal with, but after that acknowledgement it's just up to the consumer to decide what to think. Like yes, he's a horrible person. I'd hate to be near him and people IRL like him should seek professional help to deal with it, or at the very least try to recover. But in fiction, characters are often used to figure things out. That could be in preparation for (such as anxieties), recovery (for people who've experienced things involved), or consideration of the function of a situation (For example, Jimmy as a way to look at how, why, or what he or an abuser does/did/might do in certain scenarios).
I think another thing to consider is the demo vs. full release, as someone who played both and got both views, someone who played/saw the demo but not the full release might have much more positive views of Jimmy. I say this because you got the demo from his POV, got NOTHING about Curly, and are as misled as the other characters were at first. It's been a long time since playing demo, but what stuck out to me then was his "helping" people. It was only certain select scenes from the full release, and you never saw the first scene of the full game. You never knew what happened or if it was on purpose. You never even knew if the ship had autopilot or not. You didn't know Jimmy crashed, you didn't know Jimmy SA'd Anya, you didn't know Jimmy killed anyone - directly or indirectly. In the Demo version of the game, you were able to see the tragedy as framed by Jimmy. Curly crashed, everyone nearly starved, and Mouthwash was all there was in the cargo hold. Curly talked to Jimmy about what comes next, and that was it. In THAT version of events, where Jimmy and Curly are the only two at the table to eat some cake, the one at fault is the one who paid the price. Curly, in Jimmy's version, was the monster.
I can understand liking that version of Jimmy - there was too little context to really think of him as a monster, especially with the character you play calling the former captain a horrible person who wanted them all dead? I felt it too. I didn't like Curly and he didn't stick with me as a character in the demo - likely a push Jimmy made to frame him as useless and reliant. You did give him his pills one time in the demo, after asking if Anya is qualified as a nurse. Again, you don't know she's pregnant in this version. Jimmy knows what he did, but you are never once shown as a player even from his perspective. In the demo, you are Jimmy's delusional thinking. The first scene of the demo was the second of full release - going through the hallways twisting and winding, opening doors, finding Polle when you turn around as though it were a mascot horror, more and more parts than it should have every time you find it.
At first, that's what I thought it was - a mascot horror. You weren't supposed to know that the monster was Jimmy. Maybe Polle, maybe Curly, but never Jimmy.
Not until full release.
(I want to clarify again that I'm not disagreeing, I just think it's interesting to think about characters and the relationship people can find with them and how they might cope with things, especially things like (a very serious topic, as you said) SA and I think it's good to look at all sides of something, even when you disagree with or don't like the other(s), to stay informed and be able to make proper opinions. There's lots of reasons someone might latch onto characters even if they're absolute trash like Jimmy. The block button's always free when you find people that post/reblog/take part in things you don't want to see too! I know in younger circles especially the block button is for stuff like "this person is horrible and i have to block them for this reason" but it's good to use just to curate your own spaces too. If someone posts something you don't like, it's always available.)
asking for a friend .
(I was discussing his character with a friend and we inevitably got to the "Jimmy doesn't believe in consent" part of the discussion. Now I need to know what you think. WOULD HE-)
