3:45 am
ryomen sukuna x f!reader
an: I can't find the request, but someone asked for a sukuna version of the 3:45 am chapter of roommate eren! here it is <3
“why do you have such a shit face?”
you look up from your computer to find sukuna lingering by the door – fidgeting with the buttons of his collar and the end of his tie – as he spares you an irritated glance. it’s one that you return right back, before hunching back over the table and focusing back in on the lab report you were writing.
“i’m talking to you.”
sukuna shuffles over to your side, before crouching down till your faces are side by side, the breaths coming out of his nose tickling the bare skin on your shoulder.
“i have such a shit face because i looked at you.” you mumble.
sukuna sucks in a breath, almost like he’s trying hard to conceal his laughter, before he pulls closer, leaning his chin on your collarbone. the proximity makes it hard to ignore the sweet smell of his shampoo, which only gets worse when it’s accompanied by the sharp scent of his cologne.
“is that any way…to repay my kindness?” sukuna questions.
you roll your eyes, lightly jolting your shoulder up to get him to stop leaning on you. and he takes the hint just as much, as he draws up the chair at your side and pulls closer to see the molecules that you’re constructing on your computer.
“you know, when you said you were going to do this favor for me, i wasn’t exactly expecting that you were going to hold it over my head this way.”
ryomen sukuna was just an acquaintance – who happened to be in the wrong place, at the wrong time – and then he wasn’t.
it’s because he has a moral compass. or because really, he feels guilty for not telling you earlier – especially when he’s seen other friends of his in the same position as you. so when he found you down on your luck – getting cheated on by your boyfriend, who you lived with, by your best friend of all people – he offered you the extra room that he had in his apartment.
i’m lots of things, but i’m not a sadist. that’s what he said when you snuck out in the middle of the night, all of your things packed into a box that you subsequently emptied out into the free room that he offered. he had hell to pay from your ex-boyfriend the next day, the two of them jostling it out on the basketball court, before they both got reprimanded by the coach and decided to keep their distance
sukuna isn’t a bad roommate. he isn’t exactly a good roommate per say either. because the sweet kindness that he offered you wore off around the second day and you realized that really – he was one of the most irritating people that’s every walked the surface of this earth.
he brought over girls – tons of them. and when you asked him to keep it down, just so you could get some assignments done or study for an exam, he’d make it a point to bring multiple girls over – just to see the irritated expression on your face.
he’d make up for it of course. because what he lacked in face-forward politeness, he made up for with his quiet gestures. like making you breakfast the morning of said exam – set with a matcha latte that he learned how to make special for you, because you don’t like the taste of coffee. or whenever he found you crying, he’d always let you rant it out – but not without giving you a few insults about how you had no standards here and there.
“i think it’s dumb as fuck that you aren’t going tonight.” sukuna says.
you slam the enter key on your computer.
“your opinion has been noted.” you respond.
“then come.” he grates.
athletes at the university get to attend a formal at the end of each semester. it’s a nice dinner, accompanied with a horrible DJ, and a weird mix of sentimental speeches.
really, it was actually your idea of fun. only because it always felt nice to go to events like this. it was one of the few excuses you had to use the pretty dresses that you had in your closet, actually blow out your hair to make it look nice, and use the pretty glitters that your sister had given you for your birthday last year.
and even more than that, it always felt nice to be shown off. because you’d meet tons of people who had heard all about you – the coach, the athletic trainers – who’d all give you sweet comments about how you were far too good for your boyfriend, who would then make some silly comment about how he never knew how he got you to talk to him in the first place.
sukuna offered to accompany you. and also promised that he’d sneak some kind of contraband in so that the two of you could actually have fun – but it was something you denied. you denied most of the offers that he made that were similar to this, even though he was quite persistent, only because you knew that it wasn’t the right time.
for better lack of words, you felt like a kicked dog. and you needed time to recover – before you could see your old best friends, or your ex-boyfriend, or really anyone outside the three circle rotation of people that you were able to tolerate.
“i won’t have fun. and i don’t want to be a downer on the one night that’s supposed to be for you.” you respond.
“well, you’re always a downer. so it won’t exactly make a difference.” sukuna responds.
“thanks. that really makes me feel better, sukuna.”
“i live to serve.” he responds, before bracing his hands against the table and pushing off.
he spares you one last glance before stopping at the mirror near door, toussling with his hair and the piercings hanging from his ears. it’s a passing thought that you immediately banish – that panging in your chest at the thought of sukuna enjoying the night with a lanky girl on his arm.
“you know, if you stare for any longer, you’re going to fall in.” you respond.
“hilarious.” he deadpans.
“who are you going with? i’ll have to make a phone call and let her know that she’s just going to have to find her own ride.”
“no one.”
you feign shock, pressing one of your hands to your chest – and really, trying to hide the secret delight that you’re reveling in.
“wow. did hell freeze over?”
“just didn’t feel like it. this type of shit is always kind of boring.” sukuna responds.
you shrug.
“i don’t know. i always thought it was kind of fun.”
sukuna turns around, sparing you one last glance.
“you know, i do recall that you would stand in the corner and talk to the moms all night. that sounds like my personal nightmare.”
you smile.
“well, that’s just because the moms don’t really like you. i however get along with them quite well.”
sukuna rolls his eyes.
“i’m sure that’s true. i’ll see you, okay? don’t sleep too late.”
you give him a sly look.
“worried about me?”
“no, you just look ugly with eye bags.”
--
you do not take sukuna’s advice. instead, you finish up your lab report and open a bottle of pink wine – to accompany you in your endeavors to watch ten things i hate about you.
and it goes considerably well – until you hear a slamming pounding on your door at 3:45 am. you reach for the closest jacket, one of sukuna’s hoodies, before pulling it over your shorts and peeking out of the peephole.
you swing the door open.
“right. hi.”
you pause.
“megumi, right?”
“yeah. just bringing sukuna back. he’s plastered.”
you look down to where he’s gesturing to find sukuna slumped against the wall, offering you a half hearted smile from his bloodied nose.
“right. well, thanks for bringing him back. what happened to his face?”
“same as last time.”
you roll your eyes, as megumi drags sukuna up by the arms. he stumbles in the air, leaning his weight against you, as you shoot megumi one last smile before slamming the door shut.
the sweet smell of his shampoo and cologne is gone all together – now replaced with the mix of metallic blood, sweat, and the faintest smell of beer.
“sit down, sukuna. i’m going to clean you up.” you mumble, trying to stabilize him in the air to stand by himself.
“y/n?” he asks, before stumbling in the air.
you reach forward, trying to brace his fall as he looks down at you – suddenly somewhat awake as his face breaks out into a small smile. he reaches forward, bringing one of his bloodied knuckles to cup the side of your face.
“y/n.” he whispers.
you swallow the block in your throat in your stomach.
“don’t try to sweet talk me. i’m mad at you.” you respond, dragging him towards the center before leaning him against the kitchen counter.
you reach down to the bottom of the sink, setting a glass of water aside and pulling out the little box of first aid that you had put together once you got here and put it at his side. you open up the neatly organized compartments, pulling out the gauze and the alcohol wipes, before turning back to him.
“don’t be mad, princess.” he mumbles.
you feel your cheeks burn.
“don’t call me that.”
“isn’t that what you are? my little brat?”
you scoff.
“are you trying to insult me?” you ask, reaching for his left hand first and swiping the area clean.
“you have no…no idea what i think about you.”
you reach for the wrappings, tucking them in against the callousness of his hands, as he looks down, locking his fingers in with yours. and then he leans forward, snaking one of his hands around your neck.
you quickly shuffle yourself out of his embrace, before lightly pushing him back. he seems to take the cue, before you lean forward again, slightly hesitant this time, as you wipe the area around his nose.
“why’d you fight with him this time?”
sukuna scrunches his face up – irritated at the mention of the past few hours.
“nothing he didn’t fucking deserve.”
“right. last time, he missed a three pointer and you socked him in the face. so let me guess, he was two hours late today and you just got carried away?”
sukuna scoffs.
“he was running his mouth.”
your curiosity has piqued.
“about?”
“you.” sukuna slurs.
you smile.
“so glad to see you had sound judgment tonight, sukuna.” you respond, voice dripping with sarcasm.
sukuna leans forward, his lips a little too dangerously close as he rests his hands at the sides of your waist.
“he brought that stupid bitch with him.”
“sukuna.” you warn.
“he brought. that stupid bitch with him. and he had the nerve to stand there and talk shit about you.” sukuna responds.
you reach for the glass and place it in his hands, offering him a smile.
“just drink the water to sober up a little bit. it’s late.”
sukuna gives you a glare, as you let go of the glass, only for him to spill the entirety of it on you with his shaky hands. he barely registers that he did it – and you suppose that it’s really your fault for trusting him to hold the glass on his own – as you swing your arm around his torso and lead him towards his room.
he flops onto the bed as you rummage through his drawers, pulling out a pair of pants and shirt for him as you turn back around.
“sukuna. get up and change and you can sleep all you want.” you coax.
he responds with an unintelligible noise – further muffled by the fact that he’s face down on the bed – as you reach for one of his arms and pull. he somewhat works with you, sitting up as he wobbles, and reaches for the tie around his neck and tosses it aside.
his first struggle comes with the buttons. because he can’t seem to coordinate his fingers well enough to push the buttons through the holes – and obviously, with the short temper he has, gives up in all but three seconds.
“help.”
you roll your eyes as he stands up, leaning against you as you reach forward, and slowly unbutton down the length of the shirt.
“you drive me crazy, you know that?” sukuna whispers.
you ignore the comment as you pull the shirt down the length of his arms – exposing the tattoos that you’ve always wondered about, that peek out of the sleeves of his shirt or neck. you hand him the shirt, which he tosses aside.
“too hot.”
“okay, well. just put the pants on and then i’ll leave. i’ll turn around.” you respond.
you turn around, twisting the rings on your fingers as you wait for him to finish, only to me met what could possibly be your worst nightmare.
“y/n. wait, fuck. you have to help.” he whines.
you turn around to look at him, only to find that he’s still wearing his pants.
“what?”
“the button. i can’t…”
you feel your throat dry.
“sukuna. i can’t…take your pants off for you. just try harder.”
“just fucking help me.”
you shake off the nervousness, as you bend down on your knees, trying to squint through the dark light to find the button. except before you can fully do it, sukuna reaches for your biceps and somewhat harshly pulls you up.
“wh-”
you look up to find him swallowing hard, before he talks.
“it’s like you’re trying to make this difficult for me. don’t get on your fucking knees to do it.” sukuna responds.
“how else am i supposed to see it?”
sukuna doesn’t respond, as you shake your head and feel down the length of his pants, before you find the button. and surely enough, it’s hard to push but you get it after a second try, and turn around as sukuna switches the pants he’s wearing.
and you almost make your sweet escape before he tangles his fingers around your wrist and pulls back. his fingers are fast on your waist as he turns you around, somewhat toppling your balance so you’re leaning against his chest – and stuck in his embrace.
“stay.” he whispers.
“you are so fucking drunk, sukuna.”
“stay, please. i don’t want to sleep without you.”
you shake your head.
“my hoodie is wet. i have to change.”
sukuna shakes his head.
“are you wearing anything underneath? you know i wouldn’t mind either way.” sukuna whispers.
“a tank top, but really. i have to go back to –”
sukuna’s fingers are fast – since he apparently has enough coordination to help you with this – as he pulls it over your head, before setting his hands back around your waist. the way he’s looking down at you, eyes wide, makes you shiver as he leans forward, and presses his fingers against your collarbone.
“you have a tattoo.” sukuna whispers.
you laugh.
“so do you.”
and it makes your skin shiver, when sukuna snakes his hands underneath your shirt, leaning forward to press his lips against the inked skin on your shoulder, unable to contain your surprise. the tufts of his hair tickle your neck as you lean back, placing your hands on the sides of his face.
“you’re drunk.”
sukuna pauses.
“is that the only reason you’re saying no?”
you shake your head.
“go to bed. you don’t even know what you’re fuckking saying right now.”
“just stay with me.”
sukuna releases his grasp, instead reaching for both of your hands and squeezing at your fingers.
“please. don’t leave me alone.”
“okay, okay. let’s just go sleep. we’ll talk in the morning.”
--
you wake up to the most haunting sight known to man – sukuna hovering over you.
“jesus fuck.”
sukuna laughs as you press your palms into the sockets of your eyes, pushing as hard as can as you very quickly remember the events of last night – of the shivering feeling of sukuna’s lips on your neck and the horribly embarrassing moan you let out when he did.
“oh god.”
you open your eyes to find sukuna still hovering – an almost too excited grin painted on his face – his silver necklace hanging in the air.
“give me permission this time.” sukuna states.
you widen your eyes.
“i beg your pardon?”
sukuna snakes one of his fingers under your waist, using the other to trace the outline of your tattoo again, as he leans closer to you, the distance dangerously close considering the events of last night.
“give me permission.” sukuna asks.
“you…”
sukuna rolls his eyes, before leaning forward and pressing a chaste kiss to your forehead.
“if it wasn’t clear, i think about you very often. irritatingly enough, i’m actually very fond of you. so much so, that i turned down that fucking barista from the coffee shop last night and went to that fucking party by myself..”
“marie?”
“is that her name?” sukuna asks.
you bite down on your cheek.
“i also gave someone a beating for you and got suspended from playing for two weeks, so just give me fucking permission now.”
“you got what?”
sukuna leans down, resting his chin against your bicep, as he eyes you again, before pressing a kiss to the skin.
“give me permission.”
“you’ve already kissed me twice.”
sukuna shakes his head.
“cmon. i need to hear it.”
you shake your head, suddenly hyper aware of the fact that your heart is pounding in your chest as you look down at him, brown eyes peering into yours
“um. okay? ….yes. or yeah, whatever, i –”
all you hear is an excited chuckle before his lips are against yours, hands almost rough around your neck as he pulls you up, till your straddling him in his lap, hands secured around his neck. and you can tell that he’s enjoying himself far too much – from the way he smiles into the kiss, before pressing three, four, and five kisses to your cheek.
you fight the urge to smile at him fully as you lean forward, cupping his face in your hands and eyeing the cut across the bridge of his nose.
“have i repaid your kindness yet?” you murmur.
sukuna pauses, before leaning in.
“no, i think i need a little bit more.”

Meet the Band: Juniper Honey!
Hey blawgers! I’m DJ Penny Lane and this is my first interview in a series I have named “Meet the Band,” where I interview musicians so you can get to know their musical style and background.
My first band here on this series is Juniper Honey, a Southern California indie-rock band. The band is composed of four members, Josh West (bass), Donovan Hess (drums), Jake Hesse (vocals and guitar), and Cason LeSueur (guitar). The band started with two members, Hesse and Hess, departing from their high school band to embark on a new musical journey, eventually teaming up with West and LeSueur to form Juniper Honey. Through creating their own image, I asked if they draw inspiration from other bands, collectively the band landed on more classic bands like the Beatles. However they aren’t exactly striving for one style, as West talks about how, “A lot of us have a very broad variety of tastes, getting influenced by each other[band members] and by other bands pretty much every week.” To add on, Hesse also explains how the band brings “different musical backgrounds, but at the end of the day all of it melts together.” It’s an advantage that each of the members can contribute a different musical influence to the band, opening up a gateway of ideas when creating and sharing their music.
I am always invested in a band's creative process while inventing their music and sounds, so I asked how Juniper Honey works on theirs. “I think we all do a really great job at bringing in our individual elements to the table and hashing things out. We’re also good at giving each other feedback to help build off all of our ideas,” LeSueur answers. I asked if they ever sit down together and have creative writing sessions, and to that Hesse answers, “That’s what everyone hopes happens, but in most cases the more natural thing starts with someone in their bedroom with a guitar and they come up with something. It usually comes to the rest of the band in a very early, raw stage, so it still feels like it’s written from scratch.” West builds off of this with, “That early form could be something like the lyrics, the melody, or a simple chord structure, but then it completely takes its shape after we can all have a stab at it and start adding elements that are us along with the input we share on it.”
While Juniper Honey's performances have been somewhat spread out due to all the band members still attending school, Hesse explains how their current group of shows “has definitely felt like more of a tour.” As they transition from occasional gigs to securing more committed performances, I had to ask them whether they aspire to further pursue music. “I’d love to play some festivals,” remarks Hess regarding some long term goals for the band. “We’re definitely trying to give it all we got,” West adds. “The goal and what we’re shooting for is to continue what we're doing and see where the music takes us. We’ve seen a lot of growth over the last year, and I’m excited to see what these next years will hold.” I caught up with the band midway through their tour, and their standout memory thus far is a show they played at the Brick and Mortar in San Francisco a few weeks back. "We made a lot of cool friends along the way,” West comments, “and I feel like we all delivered a really great performance." Overall, the band receives lots of encouragement from their shows having such great turnouts in cities they didn’t expect. Hesse explains how, “Our expectations are naturally low, so we're pretty surprised when we find ourselves in a place where there are people we’ve never met, yet they know to come see us.” This positive reception fuels their passion and motivates them to continue pursuing their musical endeavors with greater determination.
The last question I asked the band was inspired by the movie Almost Famous, as the last question of the movie ends with the main character being asked,“What do you love about music?” Here are there answers:
Josh West: “I am always captivated by the emotions that music can evoke. Different types of music, different songs, different lyrics can all bring certain memories and emotions into my head. It blows my mind.”
Donovan Hess: “From the listeners perspective I would have to agree with Josh. But from a performance perspective, I’d say I love seeing the transition from playing shows in highschool where all of our friends are having a good time to seeing all of these new people having a good experience with our music. It’s cool to see how happy you can make some people even though you wouldn’t think our music can make this big of an impact on a person.”
Jake Hesse: “What I love about music is the bond that is created from such a simple thing. It can be on so many different levels and look so many different ways. Whether it’s my dad and I bonding over a song, or being at a concert and bonding with complete strangers and feeling so together. I think there’s a beautiful power to music because it’s one of those few things that can make you feel like you can escape and be anywhere except for that one moment.”
Cason LeSueur: “My favorite thing is probably how expressive music is and can make you feel. Whether it’s lyrically or musically you can feel the intimacy from a listener perspective or creator perspective, providing a super connected experience.”
It's been a pleasure delving into the world of Juniper Honey, and I'm excited to see where their musical journey takes them next. To all the readers, keep an eye out for Juniper Honey's upcoming performances and go listen to their music!

Here are my initial ideas for a band/music themed pack (preferably an expansion pack but realistically a game pack). I introduce to you:
The Sims 4: Making Music (working title)
Primary pack features overview:
The new ability to make bands. Either gether a group of your friends together to make a band, or put up listings searching for new members and review their applications. Assign specific intruments to different sims. Set up practice sessions to build skill and learn how to perform together on stage.
Put yourself out there! Perform at concert venues, bars, parks, a creepy basement, or whatever else suits your style. Invite family, friends, or perhaps someone you're looking to impress to your concerts to show off your skills.
New instruments! New guitars, drums, 4 string bass, new keyboard piano, synths, record players, real stages to perform on
New lot type: Concert Venue. Alternatively, you can place a "stage" item in other builds to make them possible venues for concerts.
Attend concerts for other bands/singers (premade townies. Your sims can talk to other townies to learn about them or research bands on a computer)
Explore a new city world full of alleyways and secret/hidden areas. Based off New York, but make it different enough from San Myshuno. (i know people want world based off places literally anywhere but the USA but i just love san myshuno so much i just want san myshuno 2.0 is that too much to ask for). MORE APARTMENTS! CRAMPED!!
One secret location is a speakeasy hidden underground through an unassuming door in an alleyway. It can be edited, but the lot type is locked to be either a bar or lounge.
The second secret location takes you to an old, unused subway station which can be turned into a venue. The door to reach it is locked up behind rusty chains and a heavy lock. To bypass this your sim must explore more of the city to find bolt cutters (or some other way to unlock the door idk) to break the lock. (Or, to incorporate skills, reach a certain level of handiness to pick the lock, a certain fitness level to break the lock, or bring your band-mates to break it together). Once inside, you can edit the lot to make it a venue, practice space, whatever you want, you just can't build full walls. There are debug bathrooms built into the subway around it so your sim isn't pissing themself.
The third secret location is a rooftop of one of the apartments (because there WILL be apartments so help me god) you get by either reaching a certain friendship level with your landlord and asking for it (LAME) or attempting to swipe the key (low chance of success and pisses off landlord, but that's what makes it fun). If you REALLY hate your landlord, you have a decent chance of getting it if you get into a fist fight with them. The rooftop is another secret lot you can edit (though the lot type remains 'generic')
Careers outside of making your own band:
"Producer" career (what do producers do? go around saying "i'm a producer" and making people sign contracts)
"Vocalist" career- start out as a backup singer and work your way up to pop star
I originally wrote out a DJ career before I realized that was a thing in get together LOL. i've been meaning to get that pack (on sale) is it worth it?
Overall Style of the Pack: Similar to city living in the sense that there are two contrasting sides; a very grunge, rocker, underground vibe to most of the pack. but there is also an upscale pop-star side to it for when your sims make it big (as they say). I want the pack to feel Dirty and Used (werewolves pack vibes), with lots of well-loved items (thinking basement treasures), with an artsy edge to it. Lots of stickers, and drawings on things, and random things that look like instruments and instruments that look like other things. For the pop-star side; still a bit of an edge with lots of neon lights and fun colors. Dressing tables/vanities, headset microphone. Accessory headphones that don't look ridiculous. Expand on the grunge style kit with more grunge and rock inspired clothing (we deserve more alternative clothing) and heavy jewelry. Layered necklaces, concert wristbands, band merch. Also performing outfits; a little bit of everything. (New outfit category for sims in bands? Or something you can customize in a separate menu, perhaps the same menu where you can track your band's progress.)
Other Thoughts: I don't want the pack to be easy. I want it to take effort to gain a following and improve as a band, and for the relationships between band members to affect their skill & performances. Starting out, you won't make much money at all for a long time, until you start growing and can make more than you spend. (ticket quotas and fees at different venues. start small and work your way up from dingy basements to bars to lounges to real venues from concert halls to stadiums. (Realistically, some, if not most, of these will have to be rabbit holes but I can dream)
Base Game Update: Make the electric guitars actually sound electric PLEASE.
#ts4#kinda awful conceptualizing a pack catered specifically to yourself bc you just know it'll never really happen#if you have ideas PLEASE share

Café Disco + Space Disco (7/13/23)
I am going to draw out how the media portion of this will go. I also just got off the phone with Owen and we really went into this whole idea. It’s seeming as though it’ll pan out proper.
As of now it is all about creating content and media. The word for it is media package. It is also going to be 2 media packages a month per concept, aka 2 Café Disco and 2 Space Disco media packages each month.
We will make the Instagram like a checkerboard where it goes from Space Disco black to Café Disco white. And each has that as its first slide then the next slides are the actual promotion material. Treat it like it’s big and it will be big.
- For each interview and playlist we would need 3 pieces of short form content (Tik Tok style) to be used as marketing material on the Instagram story and Tik Tok paid promotion on Instagram. The Tik Tok for the Cafe Disco would be interviews best statement made, and the playlist would be a vibey video of doing cool things (maybe Chris doing cool things) with the song playing behind it from the playlist.
Alright so I’m going to start with Café Disco thoughts ->
Café Disco media will include:
- An hour (ish) long playlist that gets publicized on Spotify. We will also put the playlist together as a mix and put it on YouTube accompanied with some vibey video of the beach or whatever aesthetic we are going for and put the mix on Soundcloud (if possible).
- An hour (ish) long interview conducted by Zoe with someone in the self care industry or someone in general. This is a very open platform where pretty much anyone can be interviewed. It’s to share stories and give people insight on life. Hopefully garner a wave of self actualizing practices from the youth. We will edit the video with AI, put the video on YouTube and release the podcast version on Spotify and Soundcloud.
Space Disco media will include:
- An hour (ish) long DJ set in a desirable location outside. A scenic location, but also create The Space Disco as in create the vibe with it. Get people to go picnic next to it for a video, make the scene you or visualize there that would look dope and then film with that scene. It doesn’t need to be a big thing, just vibey enough that people see it and feel as though they want to be apart of it. Hopefully get a drone there for the views and establishing shots. Put the DJ set with video on our YouTube and put the DJ set audio on Soundcloud.
- An hour long interview (still have to figure out who will do the interview) at the location of the DJ set before the DJ set. It will be two chairs in front of the table that has the DJ board on it with the bluetooth microphones. Three camera set up. Upload the video of the interview on YouTube, put the audio of the interview as a podcast on Soundcloud and Spotify.
Media galore. Also being able to hit a lot of different markets with the content. Every part of the universe.
See you soon beautiful people

"i'm the dj"
I wanted to write about my DJ experience while it still feels fresh! I am positively zingy after "spinning some tunes" with some buds at the Elsewhere Loft last night. It was a soiree that came together after having a few "we should totally do this" conversations at parties, which turned into an email thread, which turned into a thing that happened in person. Shocking, stunning, unprecedented!
I (obviously) went stir crazy during Covid lockdown and got my ya-yas out by attending virtual DJ streams and vibing with people in zoom rooms. One of the thoughts I had during that time was: when we are allowed to hang out in person again, I would love to throw a party! It took some time (technically I did throw a party last year...a big one...my wedding) but it finally happened. Chris taught me how to rudimentarily mix on his DJ equipment, Laura hooked us up with the Elsewhere billing, everyone brought their friends, I met some And Introducing listeners. I got sweaty on the dance floor and spilled Red Bull all over myself which felt...good.
I also got to put into practice some things that have been important to me in theory, like being very courteous to the venue staff who supported the event. As a Venue Respecter it was fucking cool to be on the talent side of things and see just how much work goes into nightlife. Dozens and dozens of venues in just NYC alone do that shit every NIGHT. Just so people can have some fun!!
Not to sound like a completely pretentious ass hat but uhhh as I continue on my clubbing...journey...one of the sort of philosophical tenets I keep coming back to and sort of tumbling like a gemstone in my brain is this idea of Energy In, Energy Out. Like, no space exists just to entertain you, and you are not a passive vessel of entertainment reception. The Club is not a vacuum. You must participate, you must pay the energy toll! You can of course be set up for success by a swanky venue, good music, high-quality sound, etc. but the surest way to have a great night out is to put in the energy to have a great night out, and then that energy will come back to you. Dance, talk, be friendly, put vibes outward, and you will get all of that in return, and much much more.
I saw a TikTok a while ago where a young woman was making NYC bar recommendations (very common TikTok format...we love a recommendation don't we folks). I can't remember which bar she was talking about, but she dissed a bar for having "no vibes." Now, I have definitely been in bars where the vibes were off. Usually the kind of fake dive bars that have a kitschy aesthetic but are very clean and beers are $8. But I argue you cannot say a bar has "no vibes." My good bitch: you are the vibe. A bar without people in it is just a room that has some beer taps and a long table. If you find yourself constantly looking around where you are and being like, hmph, no vibes, I encourage you to look within yourself and draw those vibes out. Fun is not a hose spraying you from some unknown water source. Fun is more like a river that flows to the ocean which gets evaporated into clouds and then rains over the river. To be clear I have no idea how weather works.
When I was in high school we had this thing called...homeroom. It was 15 minutes after the 2nd period of the day, right before lunch started, and you had the same homeroom every year of high school. I am 99% sure it was just a way for teachers to see if anyone had ditched school that day. There was a lot of sitting, fiddling, and gossiping. If you had a good homeroom teacher, they let you vibe out a little bit. I had an excellent homeroom teacher, Mr. Cox, an English teacher. Sometimes he would put a Phish DVD on the classroom TV, and he let us do huge and loud group card games as well.
I bring this all up to say that when I was a junior, my friend in my homeroom class and I wanted to throw dance parties. If I recall correctly, someone brought in their iPod dock (!!!) and someone else brought party lights and we turned the lights off and boogied. Kids from other homerooms started coming to the dance parties and then we kind of got in trouble and those kids had to go back home(room).
I forgot I had done that for a while and unearthed the memory. A lot of my past life ends up being a breadcrumb trail for stuff I end up doing again in different formats. Being obsessed with recording "songs" on a tape recorder is now podcasting. Being obsessed with music videos is now making music videos. I'm not new to me, it turns out.

(Must've Been While You Were Kissin' Me) Part 2 of 4 Word Count: 4k+ Pairing: Eddie Munson/Fem!Reader Tags: EXPLICIT SMUT, 18+, MINORS DNI - Rockstar/Radio DJ AU, canon divergence, set in 1992 and Eddie has more piercings and tattoos than ever, thigh riding, semi public sex, very slight voyeurism/humiliation kink if you squint, oral sex (m&f receiving), dirty talk, rough sex, unprotected p in v sex (do not do this), light spanking, come eating, pet names instead of y/n (sweetheart, doll, baby), really lame open end for a potential third part, idk man this got away from me.
Summary: Working as a woman in Rock n' Roll radio, you encountered your fair share of flirtatious rock stars. Often, they would flirt to belittle you, to question your love and knowledge of the genre, but Eddie Munson, front man of Corroded Coffin seems to know just which buttons to put to get on your good side. (Part 1) ... and into your pants (Part 2)
[A/N]: This is part 2 to You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth, and TECHNCIALLY can be enjoyed as a stand alone fic, but it'll make a lot more sense if you read part 1, so I recommend it! Also I DID kind of allude to a third installment, and I've already got some ideas floating around for it so gimme some love on this guy and let me know if you want to see a third part!
[Part 1] [AO3] [Part 3]
An hour after you wrap up your show, you find yourself climbing out of a cab with your coworkers and the members of Corroded Coffin.
You watch the smoke on Eddie’s breath billow up towards the sky as he leads you into the bar. Lazy, curling wisps of it floating up above your heads and dissipating in front of the harsh neon sign. His arm is slung casually around you, fingers curled possessively on your shoulder, while the rest of the group trails clumsily behind you.
It was tradition, the station taking the night’s guests out for drinks after the show, but it wasn’t something you were typically this eager for, it wasn’t usually your scene. Not that you’d admit it now, tucked under Eddie Munson’s arm and being marched toward the very small VIP section of the only club worth a damn in Fort Wayne, without so much as a second glance from the bouncer.
Harrington, Henderson, and the station assistant (a doe-eyed, often starstruck little thing named Darla) offer to go get the first round of drinks as you settle into one of the large, circular booths around a too-small cocktail table in the corner.
Never have you been more grateful for the anonymity that radio provides. You can feel the attention of nearly every patron in this bar, their eyes glued to the members of the band, no doubt surprised by their presence. Even moreso, you can feel the jealous eyes and hot stares of the women (and a few men) who wish they were in your place. If any of them were to recognize you, you’re sure years of professionalism would be flushed straight down the toilet. Still, with fingertips drawing shapes into the skin of your shoulder and the rumble of laughter under the weight of your body leaning into his, you’re not so sure how professional you can claim to be.
It isn’t clear how you got here, how he convinced you to come. Every pet name he called you, every brush of his hand against your waist, it’s nothing you haven’t seen before. Letting habitually flirtatious rock stars down easy was your bread and butter, but somehow this one got to you. The gentleness in his eyes or the way he didn’t ever interrupt you just to disregard your opinion and make an offhand comment on your appearance. In the cab to the bar he even commended your research into the band, claiming nobody ever digs far enough to get past the murder charges. Even now he seems impressed, when you clock the song playing over the thrumming sound system.
“What?” You giggle, thanking Darla with a smile as she passes you your favorite drink, “It’s literally my job to know music, what did you think, I wouldn't recognize fuckin’ Metallica?”
“Jesus Christ,” he scoffs, beer bottle to his lips, “not Disposable Heroes, nobody knows Disposable Heroes.”
“Well, I do!” You snark though a prideful wrinkle of your nose, and hold your bottle up. He taps the neck of his own against it. Unsure of what else to say, you throw out the world’s lamest last minute toast. “To a successful show at the Slippery Noodle tomorrow.”
He raises a brow, his stare intense and taunting, “and a good time to be had tonight.”
You flush as you take a sip, wishing you could hide behind your beer.
So you drink.
You talk with him and the rest of the group, rowdy at first, voices tangling and building above each other. Another toast, plastic cups and beer bottles cracking against one another in the middle of the boisterous group.
You drink more.
Jeff and the Freak find a pool table and disappear there for the rest of the night.
You lean heavier on the solid body beside you as a pleasant buzz takes over.
Gareth finally works up the nerve to ask Darla to dance, and they’re off.
As less people surround you, Eddie’s touches linger longer, press deeper into plush skin wherever his hand may rest at the moment.
Henderson and Harrington head back to their hotel with a stern warning to not get into too much trouble, and then it’s just the two of you.
When your drinks continue to sit empty well into the tale of your first punk show, you regretfully peel yourself away from his body, put the story on hold, and make your way to the bar. He calls, “hurry back, sweetheart,” to your backside as you walk away, as if you weren’t already practically skipping to get back to his side faster. Another round of beers ordered, you duck through the crowded dance floor to join him back in your secluded booth in the corner. Upon your return, you set both bottles onto the table and try to take your seat in the booth again, but greedy, eager hands grab your hips, pulling you into the seat of his lap instead.
A breathy giggle erupts from your chest, but you don’t protest, letting him wrap an arm around your middle to continue doodling absentmindedly on the hip bone exposed by your cropped tee.
“You know there’s plenty of room on this bench,” you chide, “I think I can fit.”
He hums in contemplation. You aren’t sure if it’s the bass from the dance music rattling your chest, or the tickle of his breath across your neck that raises goosebumps on your skin. “Maybe,” Eddie muses, nosing at the spot just behind your ear, breathing you in. “But I like you right here.”
How charming.
You stutter a soft, “fair enough,” but it’s all you can manage, distracted by the feeling of his lips on your neck, exploring your heated skin, seeking out the places that make you sigh.
Smirk pressed to your pulse point, he hums again, arm tightening around you. “Well?” He urges, “go on.”
“Go on with what?”
The ghost of a laugh dances along your skin, “You were telling me how you got into the industry. C’mon doll, I was fascinated, don’t let me distract you.”
There wasn’t a hint of sarcasm in his voice when he expressed his interest, so you try to push through the haze that’s quickly clouding your mind, and continue on with the story you started before finding yourself in his lap. You paint the picture, talking about the colorful characters at your very first punk show and the feeling of the bass in your chest that only made you crave more. He continues to mouth at your neck, tug on an earlobe with bared teeth, savoring the way your breath would hitch or you would fumble over your words when he found a particularly sensitive spot. You reach the end of your tale, breathless and acutely aware of your surroundings, and turn as best you can in his arms.
Round, deep honey eyes shine as they lift to yours, tongue skating across his lower lip before rolling it lazily between his teeth. You don’t even try to avert your gaze.
Shameless.
“Are we done with storytime now?” You ask through a poorly disguised sigh, tacking on a playful, “I simply can not go on with you distracting me like this.”
His response comes in the form of a hungry kiss, more teeth and tongue than anything else, but it’s even more intoxicating than any drink you consumed so far tonight. Both of his hands grip your cheeks, holding you in place to deepen the kiss, hot, curious tongue licking as far into your waiting mouth as he can. Your hand fists in the cotton of his tee shirt, a soft moan passed from your lips to his, drowned out by the loud music around you.
It feels like hours that you’re wrapped up in one another, all roaming hands and shared, ragged breaths and desperate sounds swallowed quickly by the other. You don’t realize you’ve fully turned to straddle him in the tight space of the booth until his hands on your hips drag them down into his. The harsh drag of denim against your center drawing a strangled moan from you as you break from his lips. Both of your chests heave, foreheads pressed together and your breaths mingling between you. Wordlessly, he nods toward the back hallway to your right, eyes crinkling with mischief, fingers bruising on your hips. You flush, adrenaline and the heat of his stare prickling your skin. You should be ashamed of how quickly you nod, your motions clumsy as you climb off of him, but your racing heart and the cool bite of metal from his hand on your lower back guiding you forward allow no room for shame.
He leads you to the bathroom with the kind of confidence that only comes with stardom, like he’s daring anyone to stop him, knowing they won’t. You, however, peek nervously over your shoulder at the bar. Cigarette smoke and the fog from the dance floor casts a haze over the room, offering you some cover and comfort.
The slam of the lock brings you back to yourself as you take in the scene around you. Stickered, graffitied walls, a flickering vanity light, and a faint musty stench.
But then Eddie’s crowding you up against the locked door, a palm pressed to the space above your head and his own scent of smoke and sandalwood and leather taking over your senses. He wedges a knee between your thighs, smirking at the keening sound the action draws from your throat, and continues his earlier assault on your neck. Behind closed doors, his attention is even hungrier. A possessive hand grips your neck, tilting your chin away to expose more of your throat to his eager mouth. He brings his other hand to ruck up the hem of your top, fingertips skimming the warm skin as he exposes it, leaving goosebumps in their wake.
“You know,” he mumbles into your skin, palming at you through the thin material of your shirt and humming in satisfaction when you arch into his touch, hips still rutting against the thigh between your legs. “Didn’t peg you for the type to be into this kinda thing,” he pauses, drags a knuckle up the column of your throat. “Dirty bar bathroom and all that.”
“‘M not,” you mutter in protest, your body betraying your words and grinding harder into his thigh, seeking any sort of relief from the needy ache in your core.
A dark laugh accompanies his words as he asks, “then what do you call this?” His face is cocky, he knows he’s caught you in a lie, and his look darkens as he tears your top up and over your head.
You return the favor, pulling clumsily at the leather of his jacket until you can wrench it off of his body, his shirt following immediately after. Eyeing the ink littering his body, the dark contrast against his pale flesh, harsh scars and coarse hair dusting the skin of his abdomen, you suck your bottom lip between your teeth and quip, “an exception.”
The smart comment you’re sure he’s building up to is cut short in his throat when you sink to your knees – the cold, hard tile biting into your skin through the rips in your jeans – and make quick work of his belt. Opening his pants, you adjust them just enough so that his cock springs free, your mouth watering at the sight. He’s not even fully erect yet, but it’s long and deliciously thick, flushed red at the tip. Reaching out to stroke him, you savor in the groan he lets out, feeling him harden even more at your touch. Then another, as you lean in to run your tongue along the underside of his cock.
As far as you’re concerned, you have all the time in the world in this bathroom, nobody is waiting outside the locked door.
You take your time, switching between tiny, teasing kisses and long, broad licks up and down either side of his gorgeous length. Eddie swears and a hand flies to your hair, fisting in the length of it as you finally take him into your mouth with a happy little hum, tongue swirling around the head before sinking lower. His hand in your hair guides you even closer as he takes control and fucks into your open, waiting mouth with shallow thrusts, a string of expletives falling from his lips. You swallow past your gag reflex, and look up through batting lashes at his face twisted in pleasure, giving the tiniest nod as you allow him to thrust even deeper into your throat. The sounds he makes are downright pornographic, deep and rumbling and desperate. You swear you can feel them in your cunt, thighs pressed together seeking out any sort of relief.
With your nose pressed firmly into his skin, he stills you, holds you in place and brushes the backs of his fingers along your cheekbone. It’s a gesture that you would even call gentlemanly, if not for his cock in your throat.
Breath faltering, you gag around his length and he pulls you off of him by the hair, leaving you with ragged breath and a trail of saliva still connecting you to his cock. You lick it away, mouth agape, nothing but a simple dart of the tongue, but his eyes follow the motion just as subtly.
A hand scrubs across the lower half of his face, dragging his lip in its wake. “Shit,” he breathes, a hand cupping under your chin to coax you back to your feet, “get up here.” When you’re standing in front of him again, he grabs a handful of your ass, fingers slipping past the waist of your jeans, cool steel stinging against your hot skin, and pulls you into him. The other hand pops the button on your pants and his deep inhale is practically predatory, his pupils blown and the brown of his eyes so dark that they look black.
“I can smell how wet you are,” he murmurs into your neck, squeezing at the globe of your ass again before retrieving his hand to work your pants and panties down your legs in one go. He’s right. The cotton of your panties sticks to you with your slick, the scent of your arousal filling the room as he exposes you. The sight of him circling you, eyes roaming your skin like you’re his prey, has you speechless. All you can do is whimper in response and follow him with your eyes, anticipating his next move. With a hand on your shoulder he urges you to bend over the edge of the countertop, and you comply, shivering under his attention and the cool air that hits your exposed, dripping center. You grip the edge of the sink, breasts pressed firm into the marble countertop, and wait. He continues, “all this,” emphasizing his statement with a rough drag of his palm across your lower lips, smearing your juices across the backs of your thighs obscenely, “just from sucking my cock?” He prods at your hole, middle and ring fingers sinking inside you easily. The cold steel of his rings kisses at your entrance and pulls another wrecked sound from your throat, thankful to finally feel some sort of relief. Wet, squelching sounds fill the room alongside your cries as he fucks roughly into you with his fingers. “Oh I don’t believe you for a minute that this is an exception. You’re soaked, you love this.”
You want to stutter a protest, tell him he’s wrong, but then he curls his fingers inside you and strokes against your walls and you’re bucking back into his ministrations instead, argument long forgotten.
Cocky chuckle on his lips, fingers buried deep inside you, he continues monologuing. “Turns you on, doesn’t it? The thought that everyone who walks past this door knows just what’s going on behind it, that someone could try to walk in at any moment and catch you like this. Debauched,” he punctuates the word with a sharp, teasing smack! to your backside. It’s barely anything, you can tell he’s testing the waters, but even the thought of another has you clenching around his fingers. His tone darkens and he does it again, harder, sharper, with another accusation. “Lecherous.” Another blow, harder even than the last, is dealt to the opposite cheek. Your skin stings when he runs a soothing hand over the pink, angry mark he left behind. Withdrawing his fingers to toy lazily with your clit, he leans over you, breathing his last statement into your ear, “fucking desperate, practically begging me to fuck you right here in this bathroom.”
Oh, so it’s begging he wants?
You decide at that moment that you aren’t above begging. Literally anything to offer you some sweet relief because once again he’s teasing. Featherlight touches compared to the rough hands that were on you only moments ago.
“Please, Eddie,” You whimper, arching your back. His fingers slip between your lower lips, collecting the wetness he finds there, but the touch is gone as quickly as it appeared. Fed up, you glare over your shoulder, only to find him licking his own fingers clean, a blissed out smirk on his face. You groan at the sight of it, dropping your head back onto your crossed arms with an impatient huff.
“Please, what, sweetheart?” He taunts, spreading your lips with both hands, thumbs teasing at your cunt but not ever pushing inside.
Your response is a babbling mess of desperate words, a series of wanton pleas falling from your lips in no particular order. It’s near unintelligible, but he makes out a few key phrases that are more than enough for him. “Please just touch me,” and, “fuck, anything, just please,” and, “whatever you want, just fuck me.”
The head of his cock notches at your entrance, head just barely pushing inside, and it silences your babbling, your breath hitching in your throat.
His voice is saccharine, sweet as honey as he says, “if you insist,” before driving his hips forward, filling you quickly with one harsh snap. The sudden fullness is intoxicating, a stinging stretch that has you moaning loudly, not a care in the world who hears. “That’s it, baby,” he grunts, pulling almost all the way back out before slamming back into you, punching another heady noise from deep within your chest. “Let it out.”
Eddie’s motions are frenzied, fucking you with a renewed energy, skin slapping harshly against skin. Another rush of arousal floods your core when he reaches out to fist in your hair again, wrenching you up and off the sink and into his chest. Your hip bones slam into the marble with every thrust, surely making just as much of a mark as his bruising grip on your waist, but you can practically feel his cock in your molars he’s hitting so deep and all you can really focus on is the delicious drag of his length against your inner walls and the overall feeling of being filled to the brim.
Reaching a hand up over your shoulder, you tangle your own fingers in his hair, steadying yourself, turning just enough to catch his lips in a sloppy kiss, if you could call it a kiss from this angle. It’s more of a swapping of spit and a shared, hot breath between you, but his fingers tighten at your scalp and he fucks up into you even harder so you really couldn’t care less.
There’s a rattling from the doorknob, a harsh pull that has you gasping in surprise, but Eddie can feel the way your walls flutter around him and it only spurs him on more.
Then, a knock, another jiggle at the door handle. A faint, annoyed voice from the other side.
Eddie growls, practically roars, “occupied!” Letting his grip on your hair loose, his now free hand works its way down your body. Splaying over your throat to feel the noises he’s drawing from you, down dragging his nails over the swell of your breast, pinching a nipple through the delicate fabric of your bra. Then, burying his hand between your legs, he murmurs in your ear, “c’mon baby, let ‘em hear you.” He circles your clit, agonizingly slow at first, then speeding up in time with his thrusts.
“Fuck!” You moan out, hips moving on their own accord to meet his with crude, wet sounds. His fingers work harder against you, the tension building in your stomach, your pussy squeezing eagerly at his cock. Your skin is alight with heat and everywhere he touches you sends pleasure straight to your core. Eyes wound shut, your voice comes out weaker now, “Eddie, please.”
“I got you, sweetheart,” he consoles before sinking his teeth into the curve of your neck, doubling his efforts on your clit, his thrusts shallow and disconnected. He’s just as close as you are.
Your orgasm takes you both by surprise. One moment you’re teetering on the precipice and the next you’re thrown over the edge, head thrown back onto Eddie’s shoulder, shuddering with a spent cry. Your hips twitch, channel milking his cock for all its worth, your release triggering his own.
He stills, spilling into you, squeezing a bruising handprint into the meat of your hip. When he pulls out, you can feel his cum leaking out of you, a fact that you should be appalled by, but the feeling of it dripping down your thighs only makes you clench around nothing, the sudden emptiness.
You remain draped lazily over the counter as he rights himself, doing up his fly and shrugging on his shirt. You know you should move, get dressed, get out of there so that people can actually use the bathroom for its intended purpose, but your legs are jelly and you don’t trust yourself to move quite yet.
Eddie’s hand on your lower back reminds you that you should get moving, and you hum, mumbling a soft, “mmh, gimme a minute, I’ll get dressed in a sec.”
“Like hell you will,” he scolds, sinking to his knees behind you. You look over your shoulder quizzically at him, a soft confusion painting your features and a little ‘hm?’ caught in your throat. It endears him to you even more, he chuckles lightly, lifting one of your ankles and pulling it free from the confines of your pant leg.
“You know, this feels like the opposite of what should be happening,” you point out, but when he nudges your knees apart, you comply, spreading your legs further.
“Look at you,” he scolds, “you’re filthy. Gotta clean you up before we head back out there.” Before you can question him, he dives forward, licking at your messy folds with a satisfied groan, your own moan echoing him. He spreads your lips with two fingers, digging into your hole with his tongue and slurping at the mixture of your combined releases. It’s obscene, the sounds coming from behind you, and you can’t help but press your aching cunt harder into his face. “Eager little thing, aren’t we?” He taunts against your pussy, words muffled.
“S-says the man who won’t even let me get dressed,” you tease back. Not that you’re complaining, at all.
He doesn’t justify that with a response, just continues to eat you out slowly, lazily, thoroughly until he can only taste you in your cunt again.
He doesn’t give you the satisfaction of another orgasm, though he brings you right up to the edge, and he chuckles darkly when you whine as he helps you back into your jeans.
“Gotta leave you wanting a little more, right?” He quips, flashing a toothy grin as you pull your top over your head. He takes your hand and kisses your knuckles, yet another chivalrous gesture wildly contrasting the romp you just shared. Then, reaching down to grip your ass as he guides you to the door, he leans down to your ear and murmurs, “gives you something to look forward to when I bring you backstage after the show tomorrow.”

There was an ill taste in your mouth that wouldn’t go away, no matter how many drinks you had. And you already had more than a few. From your spot on the table, you could see your friends dancing and having the time of their lives. You really wished you could join them. Nevertheless, you had wasted all your energy forcing a smile and clapping along during the ceremony. Once you had arrived at the hotel reception with the rest of the guests, you had slid a bill to a kind waitress and told her to keep the drinks coming.
Ymir and Historia were dancing in front of you. Stoic, sour-faced Ymir couldn’t help but smile as her sweet girlfriend twirled and giggled, her cheeks red and eyes just the tiniest bit unfocused. Next to them, Sasha, Jean and Connie were owning the dance floor, moving in sync to the happy music. A grin formed on your face as you saw Connie lifting Sasha up and her almost falling to the floor. Jean was holding his stomach as he laughed loudly.
On a nearby table, Mikasa looked over at them, a small smile on his lips. She was sitting next to her girlfriend, who was holding her hand as they watched their friends dance. You saw her girlfriend leaning over to her and whispering something in her ear, to which she chuckled. It was so strange -and so beautiful- to see Mikasa laugh that it took you aback. And apparently, also the girl she was with, because her lips slightly parted as she watched her in awe.
“How’s the party animal doing?”
You looked up and saw Eren staring down at you with a funny expression. He was wearing black dress pants and a white shirt. The first two buttons were undone, and he was carrying his suit jacket over his shoulder and a beer on his other hand.
“Someone’s gotta keep an eye out for everyone,” you replied with a shrug. Eren scoffed and took the seat next to you on the empty table, leaving his jacket on the nearest chair.
“I mean, I know attending your ex’s wedding isn’t bound to be a good time, but you’d think you would try to put on a happy face.”
You rolled your eyes. “Hey, at least I’m here.”
“After Mikasa tried her best to convince you during a whole week,” he said. You turned your head to Eren, eyes wide open. “What? Of course she told me.”
“That little… That’s it, I’m going to tell her girlfriend about that one time Mikasa got drunk with us,” you muttered angrily, standing up. Eren was quicker and pulled you back to your seat.
“You and Armin broke up a year ago. Why are you so upset he’s moving on?”
Before you could answer, the music stopped and the dance floor erupted in applause. Eren and you watched as Armin and Annie walked in between their guests, greeting everyone as they made their way to the bride and groom table, covered with a pearl cloth and decorated with the finest flowers. Every detail screamed elegance and you knew Armin had been the one to decide most of it. It had his taste written in every napkin and strategically placed flower.
Armin’s smile was almost too big for his face and if you had to guess, those small red marks on the external corner of his eyes meant he had been crying just a few minutes ago. You rolled your eyes. So sentimental. On the other hand, Annie’s smile was far less noticeable, but for someone who always repressed her public displays of emotions as much, that little smile must have felt heavenly to her new husband.
Husband. You took a big gulp of your drink.
“I’m telling you this because I care for you,” Eren said, redirecting your attention to him. “You’re looking like a petty ex.”
“Rather be petty than a cheater,” you shrugged, finishing your drink. You gestured to the waitress and she immediately walked to you, handing you a full glass. Thanking her, you wasted no time in taking a sip.
Eren’s eyebrows were deeply furrowed. “What do you mean?”
“Armin never told you why we broke up, right?”
Eren scooted his chair closer to you and you bit back a laugh.
“He said you just weren’t good together,” he said, trying to remember his friend’s words. “And you said something similar when I asked you back then. Where does this ‘cheating’ thing come from?”
You let out a long sigh. “Maybe it wasn’t cheating. Not by definition, at least. But when your boyfriend starts dating someone else a week after you broke up a two-year-long relationship and he gets engaged four months later… you draw your own conclusions,” you explained, taking another sip of your drink and making a grimace. “Fuck, this one’s strong.”
After not getting a response from Eren for a long moment, you finally turned to look for his emerald eyes. You could almost see the numbers flying around his mind, trying to make sense of everything you had just told him. It was endearing.
“Wait, no-- wait,” Eren gestured at you with his hand. He stopped himself again and took a sip of his beer. “The first time Armin told me about Annie was in February. I remember it clearly. We were shopping for Mikasa’s birthday gift and then he went to pick something for Annie. And you guys broke up around Halloween, that’s the time I found you crying-- in Jean's backyard during our costume party.”
“We had a big fight at that party. We hadn’t broken up,” you clarified with a smirk. “He broke up with me after Mikasa’s birthday party. The same party he convinced me not to attend.”
Eren’s face dropped once all the pieces clicked together. He turned his body to look at the bride and groom table, where Armin and Annie were taking a sip of their champagne glasses and talking to each other enthusiastically, while the rest of their guests kept dancing.
“That son of a bitch,” he breathed out. You burst out laughing at his reaction. “No, I mean it! I really thought you had broken up during that Halloween party! You didn’t upload any more photos together, I don’t even remember even seeing you together--”
“I told you, we were fighting and… not in the mood for photos or public dates. Most of those months were spent at his apartment, fighting over really, really stupid things or just not texting each other for days,” you explained. “Honestly, when he broke up with me he made the decision I was too afraid to take. He was right, we weren’t good for each other anymore. But... fuck,” you chuckled icily. “I wish he would have broken up with me before getting with Annie.”
Eren listened in silence, his eyes still on his friend. You gave him time as you kept drinking, your gaze drifting to your friends again. You really wished you could have the energy to join them and forget Armin and Annie. It was true you didn’t love him anymore, yet seeing them together only made you remember how you had been fooled by someone you thought loved you the most.
You had had many dates ever since, but no one ever stuck. It was fun, getting someone’s attention for a couple of weeks, but then you couldn’t help but ghost them, putting up shitty excuses like wanting to focus on yourself and not having enough time to spare with them. You had lost so many amazing opportunities with both boys and girls that a couple of months ago you had decided to stop dating at all. It was lonely for sure, but at least you didn’t find yourself feeling guilty for not being able to open yourself up emotionally for someone else.
“Want to get back at him?”
You turned to Eren so fast you almost hurt your neck.
“What?”
“I have an idea. Just play along,” he explained, standing up.
“Eren, hey, what are you--”
“Everybody! If you could give me a minute please!”
You watched horrified as your friends started turning to you and Eren, confused at the commotion. Eren kept waving his hand, gathering more and more people’s attention, Armin and Annie included. He even gestured to the DJ to lower the music and she complied. In a few seconds, all the guests of the party were looking at you, who was still sitting down with a confused expression, a drink in your hand. Once he deemed enough people were looking at him, you saw him fumbling with his hands nervously.
“Eren,” you called for him again in a whisper, but all he did was take the drink you had in your hands and put it on the table.
“Sorry for interrupting, I know a lot of you were having a lot of fun dancing. But all I’m asking is one minute of your time. I hope that’s okay with you guys,” he grinned back to the bride and groom table, where they were as confused as all the guests around. “I have something really important to say.”
“Eren, no, you can’t tell them about--”
“No, no, give me a moment,” he hushed you again. The DJ walked to both of you and handed an inalambric microphone to Eren.
You didn’t like how devilish his smile turned.
“Great, thanks, this is much better,” he told the DJ, who just kindly smiled at him. “Anyway, I don’t want to take much of the bride and groom’s time, so I’ll try to be concise. The thing is…” he said, turning to face you. “I love you.”
Your mouth flew open as you heard multiple gasps coming from the guests. Yet, you couldn’t bother with looking anywhere but Eren’s eyes. What was he doing? Since when did he have feelings for you? If he wanted to say something, he could have easily said something a few minutes ago, when--
Just play along.
Oh.
Your questioning glare turned into a big smile and you noticed Eren softly nodding at you.
“You already know how much I love you. Honestly, I never get tired of telling you so. And hiding our love from our friends has probably been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Sorry about that, Mikasa,” he said, gesturing to the woman.
You could imagine your friend’s dumbfounded face, but you knew better than to turn and check for yourself. You knew you wouldn’t be able to hold in your laughter.
“So I’m here in front of all our friends and some other guests I don’t know to ask a simple question.”
In a swift movement, Eren got down on one knee. Your hand flew to cover your mouth, trying your best to hide any trace of laughing on your face. The flash of the cameras startled you for a moment, but that only meant Eren’s plan was working. The excited murmurs and squeals only fueled Eren, as he pulled up a ring and showed it to you. You immediately recognized it as one of the rings he had been wearing a few moments ago.
“Would you marry me?”
A huge, honest grin made its way to your face and you nodded quickly. You grabbed the microphone Eren was holding and spoke right into it.
“Yes, I’ll marry you!”
You hadn’t listened to a crowd erupting in applause and cheers as loud as the guests at Armin’s wedding when Eren slid his ring on your finger. Once again, the flash of the cameras were right into the both of you as you leaped into his arms. He stood up while holding your body close to him, even giving you a small spin and you buried your face in the crook of his neck.
When he finally put you down, the music resumed and all your friends began running to the both of you.
“You’re fucking crazy,” you whispered to Eren, holding his face between your hands. He laughed.
“Kinda ruined the reception, huh?”
“When the fuck did this happen?” Jean inquired as soon as he reached you.
“Dude, why didn’t you tell us?” Sasha whined, with a small pout. “But congratulations!” she quickly followed, hugging you tightly. As you hugged her back, you felt someone taking the hand that was now wearing Eren’s ring.
“This is one of your rings,” she noted, shooting Eren a dirty glance. He lifted his hands in surrender.
“Hey, I didn’t plan this! But I will get her a prettier one soon,” he said, winking at you. You laughed and shook your head.
“Nah, I like this one,” you replied. You shared a knowing grin and soon it was Connie’s turn to hug you.
While you were hugging your friend back, you saw in the corner of your eye Armin getting up from the table and starting to walk to both of you. Your smile immediately vanished from your face and once Eren caught it and followed your eye trail, he understood the reason why. You heard him mutter a curse before he pulled you from Connie’s embrace.
“Well, we’d love to stay, but my fiancée and I want some time alone.”
“C’mon, you haven’t told us yet how you got together!” Sasha complained.
“Next time, we promise,” you hurriedly assured her.
Eren picked his suit jacket from the table and before Armin could reach your group, you quickly walked away, exiting the hotel. Eren whistled to a taxi and you jumped inside, telling the man behind the wheel to drive. Loud laughter filled the vehicle as soon as it began moving.
“How-- how did you even have this idea?” you asked him, holding your stomach as you laughed. “Dude, Armin looked so upset, we totally stole his thunder.”
“That was the plan,” Eren shrugged, a winning smirk on his lips. “Knowing the gang, everybody’s going to be talking about us and the engagement for the rest of the party.”
“Remind me to never have you as an enemy,” you chuckled, leaning back on the car seat. Letting out a long sigh, you took off Eren’s ring and handed it to him.
He shook his head. “Nah, keep it. As a souvenir of today,” he winked.
“Thank you,” you smiled. You put the ring on your thumb this time, since it was too big for your ring finger anyway. “You didn’t have to do this at all, and yet--”
“It’s okay,” he assured you.
“No, really. It’s just-- I’ve been having a tough time since the breakup,” you admitted. “To have you doing this for me means a lot. Makes me feel someone really cares for me. I never said anything to anyone back then because Annie is also a part of the group and I thought…”
Eren leaned his head towards you.
“You thought…?”
“I thought you would pick her too. It’s stupid, I know,” you shrugged, turning your head to Eren. “But Armin had just broken up with me and a week later he was already in public with Annie. Back then, I thought everyone knew we had just broken up and if no one had said anything was because they didn’t care. So I just… stopped hanging out with all of you as much as I did before.”
“Yeah, I noticed that,” he muttered.
“You did?”
Eren nodded. “That’s why I asked Mikasa to pressure you into coming to the wedding. I hadn’t seen you in a while.”
“You could have just asked me to hang out, you know,” you teased him. Eren chuckled, pushing some of his loose hairs behind his ear.
“I think we know by now I don’t take the conventional route.”
“Yeah, all of the guests know that too,” you quipped, making both of you laugh.
This time, when the laughter came to an end, you realized how close your faces were. Your noses were almost brushing as you both were lying your heads on the back of the car seat. You looked into Eren’s emerald eyes and noticed he wasn’t looking away from yours either. Was it the alcohol that made his cheeks turn a lovely shade of pink? If it was, then you could say the warmth crawling up your face was its fault too. It had to be the alcohol, or else, you would have to also ponder about the reason your heart was beating out of your chest at having your friend so close to you. He was handsome, he had always been and you knew this. But why were you losing all your composure just now?
A brief look at Eren's lips gave your thoughts away and, in less than two seconds, he was pressing his lips against yours.
For a spur-of-the-moment kiss, as you thought this one was, it was rather soft. Eren kissed you as if he thought you were the most expensive and fragile thing he had ever seen. But of course, this was just a product of the adrenaline and the fact that -as far as you knew- he hadn’t been dating anyone as well, right?
Your small theory crashed and burnt when you felt his hand softly cradling the side of your face. No. This wasn’t an adrenaline kiss, neither one that you gave without a thought. Maybe it had been unprompted and maybe you hadn’t seen it coming, but it sure as hell seemed he did. Eren’s lips gilded against your with ease, revealing a soft tenderness you didn’t know he possessed. You kissed him back, matching his rhythm as you softly pressed your hand against his chest.
Eren pulled away from you softly, and if his longing eyes were any indicator, a bit reluctantly.
“Hi,” he breathed out, making you grin widely.
“Hi,” you replied. You gently caressed his cheek with the knuckles of the hand that was previously resting on his chest. Eren took it and kissed your palm, making your heart flutter.
“Sorry to interrupt kids, but where are we heading?”
The voice of the taxi driver startled you, making you pull away from Eren. He chuckled at your reaction and then looked back at the man.
“Take us to that pizza place near the central park. Gotta have a celebratory dinner with my fiancée,” he said cheekily, taking your hand into his. You squeezed his hand back, his ring digging a little on your skin.
“So young and engaged already? Congrats!” the driver said, turning left and heading towards the direction Eren had given him.
“Thank you!” you smiled brightly at Eren while he took your joint hands to his mouth and placed a kiss on your knuckles.
A part of you knew you weren’t taking that ring off anytime soon.

Another Saturday night out with your girls should have been a blast. Unfortunately, it was packed with embarrassingly entitled socialites and toxic masculinity. The music also wasn’t helping because the DJ couldn’t pick a good song if his life depended on it. If you wanted to listen to EDM house music, you would have just stayed home and played a YouTube playlist full of them.
Due to your boredom, your eyes started to wander around the club as you and your friends were huddled in a corner trying to make the best of the night. Your eyes had landed on something quite interesting though. Or you should say, someone.
A tall brunet with flyers in his hands was talking to a group of women who couldn’t care less about what he was telling them. They looked as if he was speaking a frightfully terrible language by the way their faces twisted. You, however, were intrigued by the sight you were watching and wanted to get a better view.
“I’ll be back,” you told your friends.
“Where are you going?” One asked.
“I think I’ve found something of interest,” you said.
They all followed your gaze to the lanky, awkward guy you were staring at. The women had walked away from him, so he was left with no choice but to desperately try to convince someone to hear him out. They all looked back at you with questionable stares.
“He looks cute, but he seems like one of those awkward, stiff types. How did he catch your attention again?” Another friend asked.
“Thought I should help him out. I wanna see what he’s handing out,” you explained.
You took the last sip of your cosmo before placing it down on the table. You fluffed up your hair a bit and brushed down any wrinkles in your dress. Your friends watched you in amusement as you prepped yourself to go over to him.
“Get him, tiger,” another said followed by a meow.
You laughed at their sarcasm before walking over to him. He had no idea you were walking towards him as he flailed around a single flyer in his hand trying to convince someone to take it. Since he had about 30 more of where that came from you decided to help him out. You grabbed the one he was flailing around from out of his hands to look at it. He turned around to look at you, surprised someone had actually taken it from him. You looked at him with a smile and held up the picture.
“Who’s this?” You asked him.
“Uh, it’s um, this guy we’re-and when I mean we’re I mean my team and I-uh,” he stuttered.
You giggled at him stumbling over his words as he struggled to comprehend why you were giving him the time of day. You looked at the picture as he finally told you about some sort of murderer on the loose. It was a very vague sketch, so you looked at him with a quizzical expression.
“How do you ever expect to find this guy with a picture like this?” You asked.
He awkwardly chuckled. He held up the stack of flyers in his hands so you could see them clearly. He put his hand in front of the scar which was sketched above the man’s left eyebrow. You raised your eyebrows curiosity.
“Well, the funny thing is some witnesses say he had a scar right here,” he lifted his hand up to reveal the scar.
You stared intently at the scar on the drawing. Then he lowered his hand down to cover it again. What happened next made you widen your eyes with amazement.
“And some say he doesn’t,” he said as he lowered his hand down to reveal an image with no scar.
You stupidly grinned at his trick. Your ear-to-ear grin made him smile as he lowered the flyers. You grabbed his hand with the flyers and placed it back up so you could see it again. There was really no scar there anymore.
“How did you even do that?” You asked.
“Pure magic,” he said.
“Okay, magician, what’s your name?” You asked.
“Spencer Reid. I-uh-work for the FBI, so that’s why I’m-”
“Yeah, I heard your reason why you were here the first time. Along with you saying some sort of statistic about men being more likely to kill targeted victims over women who are more likely to kill related victims.”
He looked at you stunned. It seemed as if he was shocked you were listening to him ramble. You may have been looking at the sketch of the person he was looking for, but you couldn’t help but to invest in what he was saying.
“You were actually listening?” He asked.
You nodded. “I’m a sucker for true crime. That’s not to say I want to be murdered in real life, but it’s cool that you do this for a living. You know, saving lives and catching the bad guy.”
A genuine, non-awkward smile appeared on his face. “Yeah, I do something like that.”
“And what do you do when you’re not kicking ass and taking names?” You asked.
He chuckled. “I think kicking ass is more up my colleague’s ally, but I personally don’t do anything interesting. Well, interesting to most people.”
“Surprise me.”
“I like to master different chess moves in my spare time and read. I like reading pretty much anything and everything. Twice.”
“That sounds interesting to me. Maybe one day you can teach me that trick and how to play a mean game of chess.”
Spencer looked at you astonished at the way you kept engaging with him. You were starting to think girls like you or even girls in general never took an interest in his quirky behaviour. To you it was enticing.
“Um, thank you. I’m sorry, I didn’t even get your name,” he said.
You smirked. “How about you give me your number and you can figure it out then. Maybe even discuss each other’s favourite books if you’d like.”
He nodded his head with a tiny smile that slowly appeared on his face. You couldn’t stop looking at him as he did the smallest gestures. He was more attractive than you initially thought from across the club. Every mannerism he did intrigued you more about his character.
“I’d like that,” he said.
“Great. What’s your number?” You asked.
He smirked. “It’s near your heart.”
You looked at him funny as he gave you that riddle. You placed your hands in your dress near your left breast. You felt something at the side of your bra. You took it out to see the ace of hearts.
It was nice meeting you, Y/N.
His number followed right after. You were floored. Not only did he figure out your name, but he also gave you his number in the suavest way possible. He didn’t even have to touch your breasts to do it. That was some respectful magic.
“Now you’re telekinetic too?” You asked.
He shrugged. “Can’t say. Maybe if you call I’ll give you a hint.”
“Can you guess when I’m going to call too?”
“That wouldn’t be guessing, but profiling. I have a feeling I’ll be hearing from you in the next two hours.”
“I’ll make sure I don’t keep you waiting.”
He chuckled. “Bye, Y/N. It was really nice talking to you.”
With that he walked into the crowd where he was met by a tall, muscular black man. He put his arm around Spencer and gave him an impressed smile. You giggled as you watched the scene before they fully disappeared into the crowd. You looked back at the ace of hearts and couldn’t stop smiling. Maybe you were starting to have a new thing for quirky magicians.

Jasonette July prompt 4: game on
Enemies to lovers if you squint
This was supposed to be a throw away prompt that I put no effort into but somehow I ended up putting a lot of energy into it. Please love it
Legal age drinking and questionable song choice
Jasonette July
My masterlist
"Okay and thank you for coming to our Karaoke face off. I'm DJ Carapace and I'll be running the show tonight."
He paused while the crowd cheered.
"For those who haven't been here before, long time patron Marinette has recently been butting heads with Jason who recently returned after a long absence."
Boos came from one section. He didn't recognize them as associated with either of the performers.
"None of that now. Here tonight we love all of our friends the same. The competition tonight is all about the performance. Also giving a performance is Dick back behind the bar. Show him some love and show him the money. Or your money maker. Shake your ass for him. He doesn't discriminate; he loves all asses."
Cheers went up as Dick did a few bottle tossing tricks before Carapace could continue on to explain the rules of the competition. Jason and Marinette start off with a duet chosen by Carapace. He mentioned that they would be singing multiple songs, some that they prepared for and others that would be a surprise before that started. At the end of the singing the voting would be opened up for everyone to choose the winner.
"Starting off with a little magic both singers will show us a Whole New World," Carapace said as he started the music.
"Are you ready for this, Princess? You aren't allowed to magically fall in love with me."
"That should be easy enough. I control all the magic here."
"Do you trust me?"
"Not at all, Street Rat." Marinette said into the mic before he started singing.
She would never admit to anyone how much she loved his voice. It was rich and smooth and he seemed to feel the music as he sang. She put everything she had into her part. This was one of the first songs she learned to sing in English so it was very nostalgic. They both had the same idea when the joined section came up. They turned to face each other and kept eye contact through the last note.
"Well they may be competing but they sound great together too. Next up Marinette chose the song Perfect."
It felt good to start off with a song she knew. Most of them tonight would be a surprise so it was good to start where she was confident. This song worked particularly well because it started soft and then got bolder as it went on. The words were very helpful too. Jason must feel the same way about singing his choice of It's My Life because he was nailing it. The crowd was cheering and Carapace played a Jagged song to give them a break and encourage people to get drinks.
"Alright, bringing us right back into the show Jason and Marinette are going to wow us with the song Senorita."
Both of them were sent shots and drinks during the break. Mostly Marinette wanted water but as the crowd ramped up she and Jason took a shot together for luck. Then Marinette saw the list of songs they were doing and drained her drink quickly. She needed the courage if they were going to put on a show. Putting on the best show is how she would get votes.
Jason didn't feel like he could keep up with her. Her song choices were stellar. He had always loved her range. He had wandered away to take a couple shots to loosen him up. Still when they met back at the stage they took one together before they looked at their set list. He felt a bit better watching her drain her drink after she saw the set list. Maybe it wouldn't be as easy for her as he thought. He allowed the energy of the crowd to flow into him. He could do this. As he watched her start the song, he suddenly remembered how he had actually been interested in Marinette when they first met, but she had gotten very frustrated over something to do with the song choice or order. He couldn’t remember now. It was the first in a long list of times they had butted heads here.
He moved to the beat of the song and started singing. He kept his voice low and sultry and his attention focused on his partner for the evening. He wasn’t sure exactly when it happened but the room and the crowd disappeared. It was just him and her looking at each other and singing. She shimmied around to the song and he reached out for her hand, spinning her until she was against him. He leaned over her shoulder and sang the ooh- la-la-la into her mic. He could feel her tense and suck in a breath before she sang her next section. He swayed her back and for and then spun her around. She did her oohs and then he dipped her down and then back up at the last notes of the song.
She was happy that it was his turn next, singing Fields of Gold. She had to catch her breath. She needed to convince herself that it was from the singing and dancing and not from being so close to him. She sipped on her drink and sat on the provided stool as he moved between singing for the audience and serenading her. As the song was at the final repeating line he pulled her back up and sang directly to her. He bent low and kissed her hand as he passed her the mic.
Marinette started singing the song Only Exception and as she did she circled him before guiding him to the stool. His performance was stellar so she needed to start strong and continue through the whole song. As he had she made sure to sing to the audience and not just him. She wandered down from the stage and near the tables to get the most visibility during the instrumental interlude. She sang the part that picked up right to the crowd before turning to him and walking back to him with determination at the ending lines. At the final line she got very close to him to sing directly at him that she was “on her way to believing”
Next they were singing Landslide as a duet. Marinette loved this one. But it was slightly bitter for her. The first time she met Jason she had put the song in but the old DJ XY said he would save it for her for later in the evening. Jason had arrived after that and when her song came up it was him singing it instead of her. He had done really well but the DJ didn’t like to do repeats so she didn’t get her chance to sing. It hadn’t helped that he had come up and used a terrible line on her and laughed at her reaction.
Jason loved this song. He knew she did it really well too. He had heard her sing it once before. It worked great as a duet for them. They were both able to showcase the best of themselves. Carapace was right, they did sound good together. They took turns with the parts and joined in together at the chorus. They addressed the crowd for the beginning of it but part way through she walked slowly up to him as she was singing. He put his mic to the side and met her in the middle. Something about sharing the mic made it feel more intimate. They were no longer looking out. They were looking right at each other. Her eyes closed during one part and he didn’t seem to be able to stop himself from reaching up and touching her face. She looked up at him as they sang the last line together, drawing it out.
Carapace gave them another break and played a couple other songs before he would call them back up. Alya was ready with a couple waters and people were basically lined up to buy them drinks and shots. Alya told her she was recording the whole thing and would be posting it after, linking back to both of them so they would probably get a lot more traffic on their pages soon. The break went quickly but Marinette was ready to be done with it. The songs were a little more upbeat so it would feel like it was going faster even though it was more songs. She laughed when she saw the first song. She knew Alya picked that one because she had told her how much she liked it but was always too nervous to sing it.
Marinette took another shot while bantering with Jason to get the crowd invested again at the end of the break. She didn’t hold back. She stalked towards Jason channelling all her sexy energy as she started singing Do Not Disturb. She didn’t turn back to the crowd at all. She moved with the song and sang with everything she had and based on the look on his face, he was eating it up. She dared approach him and slid her hand up his chest before seizing his shirt and pulling him to his feet. He moved right along with her. That is what made him a great opponent. He didn’t want to trip her up and win by default. He wanted her at her best and she felt the same. An even playing field so they could get a good gauge of a winner.
Jason could feel her almost groan when she heard the opening of Give Me Everything start. He had played along with her song and she went all out. Now it was his turn. He was pretty tame. Just serenading her and moving to the beat. He could tell she was expecting more though, she moved easily with him when they got to the line “grab somebody sexy tell them hey”. She was ready for it and matched him move for move. He liked it better this way. They may be competing but he was having a blast. He had the sudden thought when he sang the last line "we might not get tomorrow". He put the microphone under her chin and used it to tilt her face up to his. She stared right up at him perfectly. The natural move would be to lean down and kiss her but he didn't think it would be right complete the move.
"Okay guys get ready to vote after this last number here. Their grand finale and then we can go back to your regularly scheduled karaoke until we announce a winner."
Marinette and Jason both took drinks and readied themselves to sing. Jason started out the song Shallow. He didn't bother with the audience. The song was designed as a romantic duet and he loved watching her eyes widen slightly as she looked up at him. He dropped his hand when he finished but during her verse she moved up to him and places her hands on his chest. At the end of that verse she patted his chest before turning to the crowd for the bridge. They came back together to sing the chorus. Without thinking, they moved closer at the end. They were right next to each other and sharing a mic again. He pulled her close to his as the song ended and the crowd cheered. He turned off the mic before asking his next question.
"Are we gonna make the ending a show stopper?"
"I'm already doing that. Try to keep up."
She smirked at him. He spun her around and dipped her low. His face was right in front of hers as he whispered. She could feel his breath by her chin.
"The audience would love a finale. If you think you can handle it."
"I can handle anything you can. Game on." She said.
He was pulling her back to her feet out of the dip. Their eyes never strayed from each other's. As her feet touched the floor, she grasped his collar. He met her halfway pulling her against him. Their lips met as the crowd cheered again. It was meant to be a momentary thing. For the audience. They had both done it for show. But the surge they felt as they kissed was not just because of the crowd. They pulled back but felt the loss even as they stood in each other's arms under the shining lights.
DJ Carapace was announcing how to complete the voting but Marinette couldn't hear anything over the heartbeat thumping in her ears. Maybe Jason felt the same because he guided her back behind the makeshift curtain of the stage. He planted his back against the wall and pulled her flush against him. She didn't expect to crash against him so suddenly but she used the momentum to pull herself to him and resume kissing.
They could find out who won later.

and all i've seen is green eyes and freckles and your smile
juke | childhood friends to lovers | title: everything has changed // taylor swift
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
"Hey! Can I make pies with you?" A voice chirps.
Luke looks up from his serious work, sweat building on his forehead, and meets the eyes of a girl from his classroom. She's Julie, he thinks, though it could also be Flynn or Thea or Penny. They all sit together.
"It's chocolate," he explains, digging his fingers in the mud. "Do you like chocolate?"
"I love chocolate!" she yells, collapsing in the sandbox beside him and tucking her cloud of curls behind her ears.
Their jeans are stained and their elbows are scratched, but by the end of recess, they've baked about a dozen different cakes and have 'tried' a few as well.
"My mom makes the best cakes," she babbles as the bell rings, the two sauntering to the spot Miss Bloom would be waiting. "Like, real cakes, and I help her."
"That's cool." He stuffs his tiny hands in the pockets of his jeans. "I like cake too. My mom doesn't make it though."
"Then how do you know you like cake?"
"We buy it from the store, duh!" he laughs. "My favourite's confetti cake."
She hums in agreement. "I like peanut butter cherry a lot."
He gawks. "Whoa! That sounds crazy!"
"Do you wanna try a slice sometime?"
They go to stand in line with the other kids of their class, Miss Bloom counting their heads.
"Sure!"
—
The class goes to the zoo the next week, and Luke and Julie stick together as newly formed best friends. She holds his hand when he's scared of the zebras, and he helps her stand a little higher on the gate to get a better look at the llamas.
She, Flynn and Luke make the biggest collage of pictures and drawings the class had ever seen.
She feigns reading his hand and tells him his future is bright, a word that sticks with him and starts using for the rest of year.
She also tells him they'll be best friends forever and it gains her the biggest hug in the world.
Second grade ends and all of her friends go to her house to eat peanut butter cherry pie and listen to music in the garden as they play games.
She links pinkies with Luke at the end of night. "Friends forever?"
He grins, missing a front tooth. "Forever and more!"
—
"Reggie's parents are fighting," Luke quips, both of them upside down on the monkey bars.
Julie looks at him. His face is turning red. She wonders if she looks the same right now. "Fighting? Like, yelling ?"
"I don't know." He tries to shrug but his arms just flop around. "He just says they're fighting. Maybe they'll get a DJ."
Her nose curls up. "A DJ?"
"A DJ... like when moms and dads aren't together anymore."
She giggles. "A divorce, silly!"
Alex and Reggie trudge to their spot on the playground and mount themselves on the monkey bars.
"What are we taking about?" Reggie asks.
Alex pouts. "I don't wanna go upside down. What if I fall?"
"I've fallen and I'm still alive," Luke counters.
Alex shrugs and sits on the bars, but doesn't drop upside down. He can still listen like this.
"About your parents," Julie says, "about fighting."
Reggie makes a face. "I just don't like it. Like, I'm loud, but they're loud!"
Luke makes a noise of excitement, not unlike a strangled animal. He puffs, hoisting himself up. The rest follows and suddenly Alex isn't alone.
"Let's do a sleepover!" he exclaims. "My house!"
Everyone hollers and agrees. Julie raises her hand. "Can Flynn come too?"
"Why?"
"Because Flynn is fun and my best friend too!"
Alex smiles. "I like her too."
Reggie wiggles his brows. "Like like?"
"Ew, no!"
"So?" Julie stresses, looking at Luke.
He shrugs. "Sure. She can come too."
—
They're ten when Luke yells, "Ew, no, I don't like Julie!"
The girl in question who had been making their way to the group of boys, ready to ask Luke, Alex and Reg to play, balks at his exclaim. He doesn't like her? But they're best friends!
Hurt and offended, she stomps the last few meters and yells his name.
"Luke!"
He turns around in surprise. "Jules!"
"What do you mean you don't like me?!"
All the boys start laughing and snickering, muffling their mouths or blatantly pointing at her. She crosses her arms. Boys are so stupid!
"I don't!" he rushes.
"WHAT?!"
"I don't like like you," he clarifies, annoyed by the boys.
She stops for a moment. "Well, duh."
"Ya see," Luke grins, "Julie and I are just tight, okay?"
Bobby shrugs. "Whatever. You're still a sissy for being best friends with a girl!"
Anger floods her senses once more and she makes a consecutive decision right then and there. Pounding forward, she takes a resolute turn to Bobby and then slams her foot on his.
He yelps in agony, grabbing his foot and falling on the ground.
"That's what you get!" she yells.
"Yeah!" Luke and Reggie exclaim.
"Uh, guys—" Alex stutters.
They turn around to an angry mister Trent. Great, she thinks, now she's getting the blame for what Bobby started!
At least Luke doesn't like like her. That would've been a disaster.
(She gets detention, but it's worth it. Bobby stops bothering her.)
—
(But then Luke steals her first kiss that summer when they're by the pool playing truth or dare because Kayla wants to be adventurous. She's been obsessed with the idea of kissing and pushes Luke and Julie to do it.
It's brief, light as a feather and kind of weird, but she doesn't hate it.
His face turns bright as a cherry and she's kind of embarrassed for a day, but then they're cool and just don't talk about it.)
—
Reggie's parents divorce when they're in the sixth grade and they hold many more sleepovers.
—
"Don't move," Julie orders, carefully putting toothpaste on his pimple, "it's gonna work, I promise."
Luke groans. "You promise? It's HUGE!"
"It really isn't," she lies, because it's probably as big as the Kilimanjaro.
"I wanted to be cool on the first day of middle school and now I have a pimple," he whines, falling back on her bed when she's done.
Capping her toothpaste, she shrugs. "You're cool... just with a pimple. We're still biking together, right?"
"Of course!"
—
She feels the first prick of jealousy when Luke is dubbed 'the cutest boy of seventh grade' and all the girls start swarming him or asking her what he likes.
Well, he likes rock music and poking snails and her mom's pies. Does that help them make Luke their boyfriend? She doesn't think so!
"They're stealing my friend!" Julie grumbles to Flynn as they're both watching Thea make a move, or whatever that means.
"Luke isn't gonna stop being your friend," Flynn reassures. "But boys are dumb. So, I don't know."
Luke feels his first hit of jealousy at the eighth grade spring fling dance when he sees Nick asking Julie to dance during some sappy Ed Sheeran song. He thinks she'll say no, but to his baffled surprise, she says yes! To Nick! Why would anyone want to dance with Nick?! Luke swears the kid eats his own boogers.
"Why is she dancing with Nick and not with me?" he nags, standing beside Alex and Reggie as they're hoarding food.
Reggie grins. "Jealous?"
"Uh, no!"
"Sure."
—
It kind of gets awkward after that.
In the summer between eighth and ninth — aka, the start of freaking high school! — they both undergo major bouts of puberty.
Luke gets a growth spurt and constantly has aching knees, Julie graduates from a training bra to an actual bra because she suddenly has boobs and she's scared it'll change things.
Now, she also looks different from the guys. They'll still like her, right?
Julie swaps her glasses for contact lenses since it's easier and Luke buys his first guitar from mowing lawns all summer long.
Because of that, he lost a lot of his baby fat.
Suddenly, her best friend is kind of… attractive.
—
Luke gets his first girlfriend in freshman year and it isn't Julie and she hates how it comes as a surprise to her that… well… it isn't her. It's Thea, of all people. Guess that one move she made in seventh grade paid off.
According to Luke, they go on dates to the movies sometimes, or hang out at the skatepark, and kiss when no one's looking.
"I've kissed plenty of girls," Reggie boasts, noting his Bible summer camp experience. "Catch up, Luke."
"Me and Thea kiss a ton!" he exclaims, but it doesn't sound convincing. "Like, a lot!"
Alex and Julie share a disgusted look from across the cafeteria table. He came out as gay this year to them and Julie doesn't like girls, so these conversations are useless to them.
"Can we talk about something else?" she whines. "This is boring!"
Luke shrugs. "Pearl Jam brought out a new album."
The one statement diverts the conversation completely, much to her enjoyment, until Thea walks to their table and steals Luke from them.
Julie sees red.
Alex asks her if she likes Luke during a quiet moment.
"No," she mutters. "Not like that."
"Okay."
"You don't believe me?"
"No... not really."
—
They break up after three months and right then, Julie and Nick get together. He's sweet and kind and smart and cute and when he kisses her, he's soft and careful. She likes it. She feels safe around Nick.
He teaches her a bit of lacrosse, she teaches him how to make empanadas.
It's clear Luke doesn't like him though.
"He's so boring, Julie," he says. "I don't know what you see in him."
"What did you see in Thea?" she challenges him.
"She was cute," he shrugs, "and nice. And she's a good kisser."
She smiles, victorious, and crosses her arms. "There you go. Your explanation."
His face sours. "I don't believe he's a good kisser."
"Want to try for yourself?"
He rolls his eyes. "No. Whatever. Have fun on that date of yours," he mutters the last, grabbing his shoes and walking out her bedroom.
She's angry and distracted during the entire date and she hates herself for realising weeks later that Luke was right. Nick is boring.
Sweet, but boring.
She breaks up with him after three months — as long as Luke and Thea were together — and suddenly she understands why Luke behaved the way he did.
Why she behaved the way she did.
They're playing truth or dare in someone's basement at a birthday party, all carefully drinking from a can of cheap beer, when Carrie dares Luke to kiss Julie.
He kisses her… and then they keep kissing.
The group hollers when they don't separate after three seconds and go insane when his hand slips up her cheek and it prolongs to ten.
Their faces are red and awed when they pull back and the others in the circle look like they've won the Olympics.
"Talk?" Luke rasps.
"Yes."
He grabs her hand and pulls her out the circle, everyone ooh-ing and ah-ing, thinking they're gonna do something scandalous. They find themselves in an empty hallway. Luke lets go of her hand and starts nervously scratching at his neck.
"So, uh, that kiss, uh—"
"I liked it," she blurts. It's the biggest risk of her life, but she takes it anyway. "What, uh, did you think?"
"Yeah!" He rushes forward, sudden surge of excitement. "Yeah, I liked— I really liked it. I- I wanna kiss you again."
She smiles. "You do?"
He blushes. "Yeah."
"Okay," she giggles.
And then he's right there, cradling her cheeks while she's holding onto the hem of his t-shirt and it's sweet and warm and way different than when she kissed Nick. It's more.
She really likes him. She really really really likes Luke to an insane degree.
They talk and share little kisses on the couch for the entire night, giddy and dopey. Her heart is bursting! It may be one of the best moments of her young life.
—
"Hey," he grins, kissing her square on the lips as he meets her by her locker.
It's the start of senior year. Only a few more months until freedom and the beginning and end of milestones, but Luke's a constant.
To her, he'll be a constant forever.
"Hey," she smiles, grabbing his hand. "Ready to go?"
"Ready when you are."

I LOVE No Straight Roads
Honestly it’s hard to keep me away from a game with great visuals and even greater character design. I knew from the INSTANT I saw these characters that I was going to love it. I just finished it because it’s (unfortunately) pretty short, and even though I cheesed the final boss through it’s very lenient death mechanics (Instant respawn at the cost of a good rank) I actually appreciated that it wasn’t a pure cake walk. I’ve yet to rematch all of the bosses, but since I had genuine trouble with the later ones I’ll hold off on that.
But who cares about gameplay, am I right? I sure as hell don’t. I would’ve bought the game no matter what the hell it was. I wanted the characters (and the music, although I realized that second) and that was it.
First of all, I love any world that is super fantastical but cheesy in its concept, ala a city powered by music, and battles between artists using music. Ideas like this only spawn from a mind that wants to create a fun atmosphere, if nothing else, and it was sure as hell fun. I genuinely love when someone goes so far into a crazy idea and doesn’t waste your time explaining it with real world logic. Wanna know how a city can be powered by music? Shut up and look at the cute virtual mermaid. Lord knows I did. Every once in a while, it does you good to just let the player/reader/viewer just revel in the idea without having to go out of your way to make things seem realistic. It’s not about “turning your brain off” or whatever, it’s picking your battles.
Also, I can seriously love a world with great background characters to it. Any game with the right situation to insert the random nobodies you find onto the streets into the art in the credits really played into the greatness of the world’s less important characters, and that’s always a good thing. It’s technically world building. But, since I always love to pick favorites, I’d have to say my favorite background character is easily Mia, the NSR infodesk assistant. It’s funny, because you can literally search “nsr characters” into Google and she’s the third image result. I love how jumpy she is when you first interact with her, since NSR probably spread the word about B2J suggesting they’re rock thugs who’d beat up anyone, so for all she knows she could die right then and there with a guitar lodged in her skull. She’s probably just some intern trying to pay for college. She don’t want trouble.
Also, I just realized that 90% of the characters in this game have the same body structure that I always love, that being having arms/legs that sort of fan out in width into relatively large hands/feet. It’s a kind of limb structure I fall into so much because it just really hits me right for some reason. I really can’t explain why.
Anyways, I gotta talk about the big boys individually:
Mayday and Zuke are an amazing duo. I’m always a sucker for a cute and crazy girl, but honestly Zuke hit so many of the right notes too. I will say it’s weird to pair the martian Zuke with the humanly-skinned Mayday, but honestly it doesn’t even matter because he looks so cool on his own. I love his weird blocky blue dreadlocks, and his weirdly shaped shirt which bares his chest in the weirdest way... And, oh my god, Mayday’s weird Spongebob background flower eyes? It’s little tidbits like that that really make me jealous. How could I have ever thought of that? It looks so perfect, and I don’t know why. And her little booty jig she does in her idle animation? Adorable. I played as her as much as was reasonable not only because I’m a filthy button masher with little strategy but also because she’s so damn cute. I can also appreciate how she has a tough-as-nails persona while still keeping a semi-girly attitude, like with her falling for 1010 and Sayu. Characters are so much better when they’re a perfect blend of characteristics, instead of being all one-note, like how Zuke is the quiet one but gets heated against DK West, and all.
Honestly the voice acting for every character is great, but I love when Mayday’s VA’s accent shows through. It’s a perfect twang to accent (consider this the only acknowledgement of a pun in this post) her snarkiness.
DJ Subatomic Supernova was going to be an easy favorite since he’s all space-themed. Also, I don’t know why I always end up liking the egotistic characters. Not in the sense that I like their egotistic-ness, but in the sense that I like everything else about them and they just so happen to also be egotistic. The same applied with Empoleon (maybe like my 2nd favorite Pokemon) and Rarity from MLP, probably among others. Either way, I’ll never not love space themes. Not to mention he’s got a funky disco theme, and I’m slowly starting to realize that I am in extreme love with techno-funk styles of music. The instant I heard his music he cemented his place into my playlists.
As for design, I still have no idea what the fuck he is. Clearly AI is at human levels in this world, but if he’s a robot why does he still have hairy legs? But, if he’s a human, is that weird orb his head? Is it just some sort of puppet which he controls from inside his giant jacket? I know I dissed explaining things realistically but I actually want to know with this guy. Even the wiki doesn’t say. Either way, he’s clearly the logical extreme of “being at the center of your own universe.” Even his jacket depicts a solar system, with his hood being the sun. Didn’t see that until I tried to draw him. I really wish this guy wasn’t so tied to his DJ stand so I could reasonably draw him without it. I don’t want to draw his hairy ass legs. It is a great touch for his design though (although I prefer his beta look with pants and long boots, another design trait I tend to gravitate to) since DJs could reasonably not wear pants, since they’re always behind a table.
Sayu is my favorite. It’s so plainly obvious. It’s weird to say that sometimes, because some characters like Sayu are so clearly engineered to be as adorable as possible, to the point where they’re basically a parody of whatever they’re supposed to be emulating, but then they do that so well that they are still likable for what they’re trying to parody. Also, even though I’ve never looked into any vocaloid superstars myself, the fact that they exist and are loved in real life is absolutely perfect to be used as a character design in a world like this. It’s so weird conceptually, but we all know it’s normal and realistic. But yeah, she’s a giga-cutie whom I’ve already drawn and I’ve listened to her theme on loop on many different occasions. Favorite character, favorite track, favorite weapon of choice (What did I say about Empoleon?), which, and I wouldn’t have noticed this myself, looks like the USB symbol you see above USB ports on computers. How crazy perfect is that?
Even apart from my unbridled love for cute monster robot(?) girls, her boss fight is probably the 2nd greatest of them all, at least conceptually. She’s just a hologram, so you can’t touch her, but you CAN disconnect the artists which control her in order to defeat her. It’s the kind of concept for a boss fight that could only work for this type of character. I’m a sucker for the cute girl that provides her voice, but I love how the animator (video editor? the yellow one) actually attacks you with a mouse and lowers the brightness of the setting once he appears. Also, the mocap guy being the deeply-voiced type but still providing the adorable movements of her body. It’s such a great combo of characters, and their little extra art in the credits makes me like them even more. I just wish we could interact with them individually.
DK West was probably one of the most interesting characters visually, especially since I knew of every other NSR member long before the game came out, but I only just heard of him closer to the release. I wasn’t sure where he was placed, but I definitely assumed his gig was the weird shadow demon we saw in the trailers. When I finally saw him in game, I was shocked to hear him speak an entirely different language most of the time, which was really cool. Also, finding out he was tied to Zuke and wasn’t strictly an NSR artist really made him more interesting. You know, if his fucking shadow clone magic didn’t make him crazy cool enough. Even though I suck at his game and am not especially fond of his raps, the visual of him rapping with this giant monster behind him and dozens of weird shadow wingmen by his side hyping him up was probably one of the coolest in the entire game. The dark way they were hyping him up too gave such a bizarre atmosphere, especially since it parallels his seemingly chill and smiley demeanor.
I definitely hope they’ll introduce new bosses as DLC in the future, and make them sort of in the same vein as DK West, where they aren’t the biggest artists ever, but they want to pick a fight with B2J. I’d kill for any extra content this game can provide.
Yinu is obviously special since she was the subject of the demo they put out for the game. Even though I knew all her bells and whistles, she and her mom still beat me a few times in the full game. Considering she’s semi-tied to story-ish spoilers I kinda want to go more into her in a separate section. It is worth considering playing the game first since it’s not hard (with the easy going deaths) and it’s short length.
1010 seriously grew on me as I learned more about them and interacted with them. I got their shtick when I first looked at them, but after seeing that animation of them touring the city on Youtube I was kinda falling for them. Then, I learned that they’re apparently repurposed navy war robots? I mean, maybe not them specifically, but it seems to heavily point in that direction, with the warship cars and “attention!”s and all. It took me a bit to get into their music too, but once I actually fought them and put their actions to the music I fell in love with it. I swear, Neon J’s weird dancing can has some of the smoothest moves in all of gaming. I don’t know whether they mocapped out those movements or got one of the greatest animators ever, but it looks so impossibly clean his part of the song gets me like 30x more hype than it would normally.
Also, their little art piece of them looking at fan mail in the credits is probably one of the most adorable things ever. Even if they’re just Neon J’s puppets, that piece of art really makes it seem like they love every one of their fans. I’m not gonna lie, I might swoon a bit too if they picked me out and gave me some special attention.
Oh yeah, and the fact that Mayday was super sad in her showstopper against them was adorable and hilarious at the same time. The little tweaks they made to the showstopper for each fight were great.
Eve just has to be Lady Gaga, right? Like, an even crazier Lady Gaga. DJSS is Daft Punk (or any artist with a helmet persona, you know what I’m talking about), Sayu is Hatsune Miku, DK West is Kanye West, Yinu is a generic child protege, 1010 is a KPop boyband (just pick one) and Eve is Lady Gaga. That’s just how things are. But, again, this is the kind of boss fight that only this type of character could provide. It’s not just surreal imagery, it’s ARTISTIC surreal imagery. The fight is so mesmerizing in every way, especially by how it starts off so slow and calm and progresses to insanity, as well as the increased emotional investment in the fight making you feel so much more into it than just “That’s the boy band. Let’s fight.” Not only does it get you more invested, but it makes her artistic persona go deeper than just “she looks weird.” She is genuinely conflicted about her relationship with Zuke, and naturally that leads her to literally split him and Mayday apart. That mechanic specifically was the coolest, although I do wish they made it more obvious when you needed to switch over to a different side. I was getting pulverized by her fight too, since there were so many things to pay attention to. Her fight was definitely the best one.
Tatiana and Spoilers:
Let’s be real with ourselves, the twist was so obvious. I do also think, though, that obvious twists aren’t bad if they’re just good reveals. At some point, a person just has experienced so many stories that “only pretty good” twists are easy to spot. It doesn’t mean that the twists are bad, it just means you yourself experienced.
I feel like her transition from rock to EDM was pretty understandable, even as a non-musician. She was so caught up in what she assumed was popular that it basically consumed her. It’s easy as an artist to want to forgo what you truly want to make in favor of what makes you popular, and clearly since her transition to EDM made her the CEO of the biggest company in the city (world?) that probably made her think she truly needed to change her outlook. Then, when she saw B2J try to bring it back, she sort of coined them as being as misguided as she was and knocked them down a peg. Plus, they were kinda being jerks about it.
It’s kinda like the Trolls sequel, where everyone pegs rock music fanatics as being too stuck up in their own heads to appreciate other types of music, which honestly seems more like the case than the alternative. When I first heard of the story of the game, I was seriously hoping they did put an asterisk on B2J’s ambitions because they were a bit sketchy from the start.
That’s kinda where I want to talk about Yinu, because she was the true turning point in what they were doing. She’s literally 9 and yet she’s getting dragged into all this BS. When she said “I hate you all” at the end of her fight, and played a somber tune on her broken piano after the fight destroyed it, you kinda got a kick in the face to realize you’re kinda being an asshole to some of them. Sure, they fight back, but they wouldn’t fight in the first place if they didn’t have to. They are just people who play music under a joint name that B2J just so happened to get in hot water with.
Then, of course, there’s Kliff, who also reeked of surprise villain, and who’s basically the embodiment of the bad side of B2J, where he just wanted to destroy for his own sake and not for the actual greater good. Once B2J realized their mistake, they backed off, but Kliff was so hard pressed to do what he planned on in the first place he wouldn’t stop. I kinda wish he got a bigger fight to his own since he’s clearly a big enough tech genius to divert a whole satellite into one specific building. Maybe the Elliecopter chase bit was his thing, but I do kind of wish he was there to fight against them too.
Even though Tatiana did kind of reform a bit quick, It’s still not too crazy to assume she could see that B2J was just misguided and the fact that they worked to revert their wrongdoings for her sake would make a pretty strong impressions. They clearly can hold their own, so it’s not like she wouldn’t want them to join NSR too.
Oh yeah, and her boss fight was clock/time themed. If there’s a theme under space that I love, it’s clocks/time.
And If I am to be respected by the internet, I must provide a negative opinion to balance out my positive one. I will say that the character model physics (like Mayday’s braids, DK West’s vest thing, Neon J’s fluffy neck thing, etc) got kinda funky at times. Especially DK West’s vest, which was completely messed up for every scene he was in... Also, even though the voices are mostly great, some lines felt a bit off. Just a bit. That good enough? Good.
But yeah anyway that’s another favorite game to add to the pile. Eventually I’m gonna have to compile a true list of my all-time favorite games/movies because I do kind of want to have a solid idea of what my all-time favorites are.

daxton + first date after getting back together
Their first date after getting back together is technically at the Winter Dance, and while it had been overall pleasant, there were still the minor bumps (the major glaring one being that Paxton had nearly ran his girlfriend over with his car) that prevented the date from retaining a sense of utter bliss that Paxton was still seeking. He adores her, loves being around her, thinks she is the most exciting person that he has ever met, but there is no denying that Devi is an absolute hurricane. He loves that too, and he’s starting to understand that moments of complete peace will be hard-earned, but entirely worth it. He’s also hoping that these moments of peace become more and more common, with a smoother path paved to achieve them each time.
They’re in his garage when he decides to broach the subject, a random slasher film playing on the screen that neither of the two are really invested in. Devi lays between his legs, her own feet dangling over the edge of the couch as she rests her head on the hard planes of his stomach. She traces unrefined patterns into the exposed skin above the waistband of his jeans where his shirt has ridden up, and Paxton knows that if she keeps this up, there’s a very high possibility he will actually be driven insane, so to prevent this, he shifts into a sitting position, forcing Devi to move with him.
“What’s wrong?” she asks, and it’s hard not to get distracted when his eyes follow the movement of her hands, shifting to smooth out her skirt, because it’s yellow and pink, and cute, and short, and it very much suits her.
“Um.” Paxton clears his throat and flicks his eyes away and Devi must see something in his actions to tip her off to the situation because she actually laughs. Loud and unapologetic and Paxton feels the tip of his ears beginning to burn but he’s smiling. “Shut up,” he grumbles without a trace of any real aggravation, lobbing a pillow at her head. She catches it easily and hugs it to her chest.
“Okay, okay,” Devi says and she quiets down but her eyes are twinkling. “What’s up?”
“I was just gonna ask what you wanted to do for our first date on Saturday.”
“First date?” Devi asks bemusedly.
“Yeah, y’know, first date since getting back together,” Paxton clarifies, but Devi still looks confused.
“Wasn’t that at the dance?”
“Yeah, about that,” he starts, drawing back his shoulders and filling his voice with enough mock authority that Devi guffaws under her breath. “I’d like to put in a formal request right now for a do over.”
“Why?” Devi asks, taking this chance to throw the pillow back at him. It bounces harmlessly off his face where it slides into his lap, and he cries out from the shock of the hit rather than the pain. Devi ignores him. “I had a good time. Did you not have a good time?”
“I had a great time,” Paxton reassures her and his heart just about melts when she beams at him. “But I very nearly ran you over with my car at the beginning of the night.”
“After that!”
“After that you threatened to kill the DJ.”
“He deserved it,” Devi grumbles and the same murderous scowl she’d worn that night resurfaces. “But those were minor issues anyway.”
“I’m not sure vehicular manslaughter or attempted homicide are minor issues,” he jokes and his girlfriend rolls her eyes before he becomes serious again. “Really though. I just want to go on one perfect first date with you. No Trent or Marcus, and no narrowly avoided death.”
Devi wrinkles her nose. “Perfect is a tall order.”
“Third time’s the charm,” he says, but Devi’s doubtful expression doesn’t waver, so he relents. “Okay then, not a perfect first date. A first date where everything goes according to plan.”
“That’s more realistic,” Devi says, but she sounds and looks unconvinced by his words. “But still.”
“Don't worry,” Paxton says, leaning forward to rub his thumb tenderly across her cheek. She relaxes into his touch and he grins. “I'll prove you wrong.”
“I sure hope so,” Devi sighs, and no more is said on the subject for the night because then she's grabbing fistfuls of his shirt and yanking him into her.
But of course, Devi was right to be skeptical, because as Paxton is starting to learn, it is impossible for things to go according to plan when they're involved.
He’d called that very same night to make reservations at a semi-fancy Italian restaurant across town, and was promptly told they didn't do reservations, which as Paxton figured was even better, because if a restaurant didn't do reservations, that had to mean there was always available seating, right? He asks his mom to teach him how to iron on Thursday, and by the time Saturday night rolls around, he feels relaxed and ready, so assured that nothing could possibly go wrong. He lays the bouquet of flowers he'd bought for Devi gingerly in the passenger seat and whistles to himself as he starts the car.
Except his car won't start. Why won't his car start?
And from then on, things only spiral out of control further. Paxton texts Devi asking if she can just walk to his house and he'll order an Uber to take them to the restaurant from there. Except when he checks his bank account, he cringes at the lack of money, failing to realize earlier how long it'd been since his last paycheck from his summer job. He wouldn't have even been able to pay the bill for their food, much less order a $15 Uber now. And really, he's not above begging his parents or sister for money, but his parents aren't home, gone on a weekend camping trip in the wilderness where they most likely don't get cell service. And Becca is working on a new assignment for school, her door locked with very clear instructions for Paxton not to interrupt her. He doesn't want to risk becoming a murder victim before his third first date with his girlfriend.
So, when Devi arrives at his house and the front door swings open to reveal her visibly frazzled boyfriend explaining to her that he's going to be cooking for her tonight instead of going out, she smiles sweetly and nods her head in understanding. Paxton wonders briefly if she had seen it in his face, how close he is to snapping, because he’d been expecting maybe a little push back, a slight protest. He knows his girlfriend isn't renowned for her accommodating nature, but he thinks she's trying to be in this moment, for his sake, and he's grateful and questioning how he could have gotten so lucky. It makes him want to cradle her in his arms and kiss her senseless, but he can't because he needs to figure out what he's going to feed her.
Paxton leads Devi to the living room and leaves her with a peck on her forehead and the TV remote before rushing back to the kitchen. And this is where the next problem presents itself, because Paxton doesn't know how to cook.
At best, he can scramble an egg and microwave a hot pocket. Both of which he thinks Devi would not appreciate. So, Paxton grabs two packages of ramen from the cabinet and drops the noodles into a pot of boiling water. He thinks he can spruce it up with an onion, trying to recall all the tips and tricks he'd seen on the Food Network, but as he's cutting it his eyes begin to sting and he can't see all that well because he's blinking back tears and he's starting to feel like a contestant on Chopped when he slices his finger with the knife. He winces at the initial pain, but the cut is shallow, and it would be fine but now his blood is all over the cutting board and the onion and there goes that idea.
Paxton is praying that it can't get any worst from here, because if one more thing goes wrong he's not sure he'll be able to keep it together.
He turns off the stove and removes the pot from the heat, pouring the noodles carefully into two separate bowls. It's certainly not Michelin star worthy, but Paxton promised Devi dinner and it's better than nothing.
But it's as if he’d been a war criminal or a serial killer in his last life, and the universe is determined to punish him, because Devi is sitting at the dining room table waiting for him, and all Paxton has to do is take three moderately sized steps to make it to the make it to her. But his foot gets caught on the corner of a rug and he staggers forward, the noodles and bowls flying out of his hands and straight onto Devi. The broth stains and drenches her dress and the noodles coat her from her hair down to her shoes, but she's still sitting, as if she hadn't processed what had just happened.
“Shit,” Paxton swears, crouching next to her and flicking noodles off her thighs. “Are you okay? Any burns?”
“I'm fine,” she says, glancing down at him, and her eyes are a little wide and her chin wobbles slightly, and he feels his heart drop into his chest because she's about to cry-.
The sound of her laugh startles him and his head snaps up, thinking she might've cracked before he had.
“What?” he asks, concerned.
“I tried to tell you,” she says, but she doesn't look upset. Noodles cling to her cheeks but her smile stretches the entire length of her face. She doesn't even sound like she's gloating, even though she had been right, and as a result of his unwillingness to listen she was now wearing their dinner.
Paxton’s fingers curl around the hem of her dress, causing broth to seep down his fist. “I wanted to make this perfect for you.”
“And it was,” Devi insists, hands coming up to cup his face.
“Devi,” he grimaces. “You don't have to lie.”
“I'm not!” she objects. “It was perfectly us. And I like that.”
Paxton lifts a brow. “You like being covered in soggy ramen noodles.”
“You're deliberately missing the point,” Devi rolls her eyes and pinches his cheek. “I like being with you, even if the day is a complete disaster, I'll be happy because I was spending time with you. And, I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm a bit of a disaster magnet.”
“I think it's cute,” Paxton murmurs demurely.
“See,” Devi says. “You know what I'm talking about, and you agree.”
“The noodles don't help though.”
Devi makes a face. “No they do not.”
And while Devi is taking a shower in his bathroom and Paxton is laying in bed, thrumming his fingers against his stomach, he thinks about what she had said about this date being perfectly them. He smiles to himself.

Bangchan:
Chan bopped his head along to the loud music as he waited for you to return from the restroom. “Hi, my friend and I saw you from across the way. Are you with someone by chance?” A pretty girl asked, coming up to him. Her painted nails brushed over the skin of his arm.
“Umm...yeah. I am actually.”
This was the one part about going dancing with you that Chan didn’t like. The moment you left the table, a girl, or sometimes a fan would come up to him and try and get him to come home with them. Chan loved his fans more than anything, but when it came to someone trying to come between you and him he wouldn’t stand for it.
“My friend could use a date as well. Is your friend as handsome as you?”
Chan sighed and looked in the direction you had left in. “Actually, I’m here with my girlfriend.” The girl scoffed and motioned her friend over, who sashayed and sat in your seat at the bar.
“A guy as attractive as you can’t just be tied down to one person!” Her friend exclaimed, gently pushing Chan’s shoulder in a flirty way.
“Sorry, but that’s the only way I do it.” He looked up to see you walking towards him. “Hey, baby girl!” He said wrapping an arm around you and kissing your cheek. You kissed him right back, patting his cheek.
“Hi, sorry. Have we met?” The girls eyed you up and down before walking away. The two of you laughed and you leaned down to kiss him again. “So, that’s why we haven’t been out clubbing in a while.” Chan smiled at you, taking a sip from his drink. “You know I always forget why until we go out.”
Chan only looked at you. It was that look that made you feel like you were the only girl in the club. The only girl in the world. “Dance with me?” He watched you nod, teeth dragging across your lip.
Chan and you danced until your feet hurt and you were out of breath from jumping around to the DJ’s tracks. About one in the morning the two of you left the club, your heels in one hand and the other being held by your boyfriend. He goofily swung your hands as you walked down the street.
“That was SO much fun!” You cheered making him laugh. He laughed even harder when you tried to jump around and ended up wincing from the pain in your feet.
“Piggyback?”
Chan was already crouched down in front of you, his arms reaching back. Who were you to refuse? You carefully jumped on Chan’s back and wrapped your legs around his waist, arms holding tight around his shoulders. The two of you giggled as you walked to the subway station. You sat in his lap on the train planning the next time you two would go out.
“We should bring Felix next time!” You said patting his shoulder in excitement.
“Why?”
“So if people bother you, you can pretend to be foreigners! That’s such a good idea!”
“Baby, I think you are a little drunk.”
Minho:
“Name?” The bouncer asked, looking at his clipboard.
Minho’s right arm stayed glued around your waist as he reached for his wallet. Though most of his face was covered by a mask, his eyes twinkled as he showed the man his ID. He immediately let us through, telling us to enjoy our time.
“Your name really does open doors.” You said holding onto your boyfriend. He laughed at your joke and pulled down his mask as you entered the club. The two of you had been looking forward to going out for so long. The boys were between comebacks so now was the opportune time.
“Drinks or dance first?” He asked, surveying the lively venue. Lasers were bounding off the walls and loud EDM music was being played by a DJ. Taking his hand you led him onto the dance floor. He grinned at your choice. “Ah, a woman after my own heart.”
He goofily spun you around, before his hands fell on your hips, pulling your back to his chest. The two of you danced for a good hour. Minho loved to show off in front of you even if it meant drawing attention to himself. When one of his songs came on you would both look at each other and cheer, before bursting out and doing the dance.
He smiled, watching you dance along to his choreography. The two of you had sweat beading on your foreheads by the time you made your way off the dance floor. Minho pulled you in for a heated kiss before you reached the bar. “I’m having so much fun!” He said against your lips.
“Me too!”
Your boyfriend maneuvered you through the crowd, making sure no one bumped up against you. At the bar, he ordered your drinks and bopped along to the music with you. Your conversation was interrupted by a tap on his shoulder.
“Oh my gosh! It is you!” A girl shrieked, covering her mouth. “You’re Lee Know from Stray Kids!” He gave her a kind smile and nodded, looking over to you. You were used to this happening. “Can we get a picture?” He nodded and motioned for the girl and her friend to come closer to him.
“Babe, could you take the picture?”
You smiled, taking the girl’s phone and snapping a couple pictures. The girls both gave Minho huge hugs. You loved watching him with his fans. The other leaned over to you while her friend talked to Minho. “You are so lucky!” She said over the music.
After a few minutes the girls returned to their group leaving Minho and you alone. “Back to dancing?” He asked dowing the rest of his drink. You cheered grabbing your glass from off the bar.
The two of you danced until the DJ physically had to ask you to get off the floor because the club was closing. Minho wrapped a tired arm around you as the two of you walked, looking for a taxi. “We should go back next weekend.” He said, looking up at the night sky.
“There’s a new nightclub opening this Thursday, we could go then. I heard they are doing a blacklight rave for the opening!”
“Oh, we are so going to that!”
Changbin:
You and Changbin were still in the very early stages of your relationship. The two of you had passed the honeymoon phase and were now entering the ‘chicken’ part of the relationship. You were ready to get serious with Changbin and so was he. However, in this part of the relationship neither of you wanted to seem like a boring dud so when an activity was suggested (no matter how out of your comfort zone) you both agreed to it, not wanting the other one to think you were the boring one.
The music pumped through the speakers at an earsplitting volume. How did you end up here? That’s right. Felix and Minho wanted to go dancing at this brand new club that had opened down town. It was supposed to be this crazy new clubbing experience and the boys were excited to go try it. Changbin turned to you after they invited both of you.
“Clubbing?” He asked hesitantly. Clubbing wasn’t necessarily your style. You would more likely prefer to be at home with Changbin with a pizza, he seemed up for it. (He was in fact not up for it. He wanted nothing more than to go to a chill movie with you that night.) The two of you shared a hidden strained look, scanning for any sign that the other was wanting to do anything but this.
“Sure!” Both of you said. Felix and Minho cheered high fiving each other. Little did you know, as you both looked away from each other, looks of regret were on both of your faces.
You were awkwardly dancing next to Changbin smiling at his goofy moves. Every now and then he would pull you closer, wanting to dance with you but Felix or Minho would join in and ruin the moment. Changbin was a fantastic dancer and it seemed he could go for ages. (He could not in fact go for ages. He wanted you to think he had good stamina. He was literally gasping every time you looked away.)
“You want to get a drink?” You leaned into him, shouting over the music. He nodded, hand on the small of your back, leading you to the bar. Finally, the two of you made it to the bar, finding an open seat for you to sit down in. Your feet were killing you. “What do you want to drink?” You asked, holding his hand.
“Ummm...I’ll just do a beer.” He shrugged his shoulders, smiling at you. (Lie. He wanted one of those sweet colorful drinks with fruit on the rim and a swirly straw.) You ordered for the two of you and smiled feeling Changbin’s lips press to your cheek. “Are you having fun?” He asked, trying to hide the strain in his smile as you sipped on your drinks.
“Yeah!” You nodded, looking out into the club. Changbin was nodding his head to the music. He looked like he was enjoying himself, but you couldn’t do this anymore. “Actually,” He turned, giving you his full attention. “I’d rather be anywhere else right now.”
His eyes widened and you were surprised when he laughed and started dragging out of the club. “Thank goodness! Let’s get out of here. I want cheap pizza.”
You grinned holding tight onto his hand. “Yes! Cheap pizza sounds awesome!”
Hyunjin:
Half the fun of going clubbing with Hyunjin was waiting in the line outside. It was usually cold, so his arms were wrapped tight around you as you patiently and slowly moved forward in the queue. Hyunjin always made the most boring things in life fun. In fact, you loved waiting in lines with him.
“But, yeah, she totally stole the first eight paragraphs of my thesis.” You said, shivering in Hyunjin’s arms.
“That bitch.” You smiled up at his dramatic reaction. The two of you shuffled forward almost at the front of the line. You noticed a few people across the street staring at you, some with phones in their hands.
“Fan alert,” You whispered, causing Hyunjin to look up and around him. Your relationship wasn’t a secret. The boys had been off the dating ban for awhile. No one was surprised Hyunjin was the first to get a girlfriend. He waved over to the fans who screamed a little bit, making the two of you laugh.
“How much you wanna bet that we have photos on twitter within the next hour?” He said wiggling his eyes brows. You hummed, cupping his cheeks.
“I think they’ll be up in the next ten minutes.”
Hyunjin scoffed, his eyes crinkling in a smile. “You’re on. Loser buys drinks?” After agreeing to the bet you watched the fans who were still across the street. You turned his head, a cheeky smile on your face. Hyunjin smiled when your lips pressed against his, girls squealing across the street, Thankfully your heels made the distance to his lips shorter. He pulled away, a smirk on the corner of his mouth. “You always cheat.”
“No, I always win.”
By the time you got into the club, you were correct. The pictures of you and Hyunjin were already trending on twitter. He paid for your drink and the two of you spent the next twenty minutes taking pictures for SNS. “I’m not going to take a picture after I’m all sweaty!” Hyunjin whined as he posed for you near an LED decoration. “Also, you look really hot holding that martini glass.” He said making you blush.
The two of you finished your drinks before heading out onto the dance floor. Hyunjin always liked dancing towards the middle, he liked being in the crowd. It was a change of pace for him since he was usually on stage. Your hands draped around his neck playing with his blonde hair, as you danced, bodies pressed together.
Going dancing with Hyunjin was one of your favorite things. There was never a bad part of the night and you almost always ended up continuing the night back at your shared apartment. Hyunjin smiled, feeling you grind up against him.
“You really want to do that here?” He asked, nipping at your ear.
After a few hours of mutual teasing, the two of you would climb into a cab, a little tipsy, and go back to your apartment. You would giggle at his jokes, legs draped over his lap as you two drove through the lit up city.
Jisung:
Sweat dripped down the back of your neck. You had been dancing with some of the boys for a little over an hour. The only way to convince Jisung to go clubbing with you was if all the boys came along. You were surrounded by the dance line of Stray Kids as well as Jeongin and Changbin. Your boyfriend had decided he wanted to stay at the bar, with Seungmin and Chan.
You looked over to see him smiling at you as you and Felix danced in all sorts of weird ways. He twirled you around making you laugh. “Lix, I’m going to go get a drink!” You shouted over the thumping music. Felix gave you a thumbs up before dancing with Changbin and Innie. As you walked away the three of them started up a kickline.
You walked up the bar laughing. Seeing you coming, Jisung wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you into his chest. “Hi, handsome!” You said kissing his cheek. Seungmin rolled his eyes and Chan smiled at the two of you. Jisung watched as you leaned on the bar, flagging down a bartender. “Can I get a manhattan?” The man nodded and told you the total for the drink.
“I’ve got it,” Jisung said, pulling out his card before you could reach for yours. The bartender looked to you, making sure it was okay to let Jisung pay for your drink. You nodded and wrapped your arms around Jisung’s neck.
“You didn’t have to pay for my drink.”
“Yeah, but I wanted to.”
Jisung wasn’t normally the club type. He was your little introvert. But, he was wrapped around your fingers so twice a year he would go out clubbing with you as long as the other boys came along. You sat and talked with the boys while sipping on your drink. Jisung kept his hand around your middle as the colorful lights bounced off your faces.
Setting the empty glass on the bartop you leaned in pressing your lips close to Jisung’s ear. “Dance with me?” You felt him shiver, a smirk slipping onto your lips.
“Bye, Assholes! I’m dancing!”
Jisung dragged you out onto the dance floor waving goodbye to his friends. Instead of bringing you to the other boys, he pulled you to the center of the room, eyes trained on you as he moved with you to the beat. You turned around, your back pressed up against his chest.
“Why don’t you dance like this with me at home?” He whispered in your ear.
You smirked, reaching behind you and playing with his hair. “Why don’t you come to the club with me more often?” He laughed at your question, hands gripping your hips, rolling against his own.
“Cause I’d rather be at home doing other things with you.”
You smiled, feeling his grip tighten on your hips. “Well, they do have a bathroom here you know?” You could practically feel the heat rushing to Jisung’s cheeks, but he wasted no time in dragging you down the hall towards the bathrooms.
“Shit, thank goodness for lockable doors.” He whispered before pressing a heated kiss to your lips.
Felix:
The colorful lights bounced off any surface they landed on creating a euphoric glow in the room. Felix was still dancing out on the floor. You stood by the bar waiting for drinks. You were more likely to get drinks at the busy bar than Felix was. Finally, the bartender came over and asked for your drink order.
“Ummm...” You tried to think of a drink Felix would like since he didn’t specify. He usually trusted you to order for him if he couldn't order himself. “I’ll do a Tom Collins and a Cosmo.” The bartender nodded and started working on your drinks. You listened to the shake of the tin as you waited and looked around the nightclub.
A guy across the bar with dark hair waved at you with a sly smirk. Being polite you waved back but turned the other way. You heard a loud sigh beside you. Turning you saw a sweaty Felix leaning against the bar.
“Hey, darling!” He tapped on the bar, still catching his breath. “What did you get me?” You smiled and told him the drink just as the bartender set the two glasses in front of you. As you reached for your cosmo, the bartender started to speak.
“Your drinks were paid for already by that guy over there.”
Turning you saw him pointing to the guy from earlier. He waved and sent you a wink. Felix tried his best not to laugh. He inched closer eyeing the man across the bar. “Well, guess having a smoking hot girlfriend does have its perks.” He whispered into your ear, before kissing you.
“How come you get free drinks out of this and I get weird guys hitting on me?”
“Well, you get free drinks too.” He laughed as you shrugged. You sipped on the sweet drink. “You wanna take this to a back booth?” Your boyfriend questioned motioning towards some secluded areas towards the back of the club. It only took a small nod for him to lace his fingers with yours and drag you to the area behind the dance floor.
Felix ordered bottle service for you both, since clubbing was sort of special occasion for you two. He liked going out clubbing, but it was a sort of special treat since he was always so busy. You spent the rest of the night in your private booth, drinking from the rather expensive bottle Felix ordered. You giggled and joked around, loving being in the upbeat atmosphere with Felix.
Before the two of you left the venue, you both took turns taking aesthetic photos at the club. Felix was the king of making your photos look good. After the two of you got your photos and had a quick makeout session on the dance floor the two of you headed back to your shared apartment.
The next day would consist of debating which one of you would get out of bed to A) get the door when your takeout arrived and B) get the coffee and hangover medicine from the bathroom. It would be a quiet day with lots of ‘shhh-ing’ from the hangover headaches.
Seungmin:
Seungmin wasn’t excited about going clubbing, but he knew how much you loved going out. You loved the whole process. Finding the perfect outfit, searching the bottom of your makeup bag for the best waterproof non-transfer eyeliner. Your favorite part was Seungmin letting you style him for the one night. It was fun having your own personal Ken doll/ boyfriend.
You met the rest of the boys at the club. They cheered seeing the two of you walk in together. Since everyone came along you got a private booth and bottle service for the table. Seungmin smiled seeing you enjoy yourself. “You want to go dance?” You asked, setting down your drink. Seungmin shook his head, lifting his arm from your shoulder.
“No, I’ll stay here and watch your drink for you. I think Chan and Felix are out there though.”
He pointed out onto the dance floor to where the aussies were dancing. Well, Felix was dancing...Chan was pulling out some ‘dad’ moves, making Felix cringe. “Thank you, Minnie,” You said kissing his cheek. “I’ll go save Felix from our resident ‘dad’.” He laughed as you got up from the booth.
He watched you dance your way over to the boys a smile on his face.
“How long are you staying out this time?” Jisung asked, sipping on his third drink of the night. Seungmin shrugged.
“Probably until she gets tired or I have to carry her out. Whichever comes first.”
The boys around him laughed. With loving eyes, he looked over and watched you goof around with his friends. Chan spun you around like you were ballroom dancing and Felix did the robot with you.
You looked over at your boyfriend, giving him a bright smile and wave, the backlights making your teeth look whiter than usual. He waved back, sending you a finger heart, eliciting a giggle from your lips.
“Dude, you are so whipped,” Hyunjin said witnessing the exchange. Seungmin glared at him from across the table. It quickly disappeared when he felt your hand on his shoulder.
“Minnie! You sure you don’t want to dance with me?” Your eyes sparkled under the colorful flashing lights. How could he say no to that smile? He looked to the boys who were watching him expectantly, wiggling their eyebrows and making childish gestures.
“Just one dance,” He said, letting you pull him up from the booth and onto the floor. One dance turned into two. Two turned into four. Soon you were the one carrying him home because his feet hurt too much. “You evil person, you made me dance too much!” He whined, arm hanging off your shoulder as you left the club.
“You’re the one who ran back onto the dance floor when they started playing Day6.”
Jeongin:
Jeongin ruffled his hair, pieces sticking to his forehead with sweat. He had been dancing with you for hours. It was your birthday, and you wanted to celebrate by going out to a club.
He had surprised you by renting out the venue and inviting all your friends including the other boys. “Are you having a good time?” He asked, twirling you around with a bright smile.
“Are you kidding?!” You squealed, leaping into his arms. “This is incredible. I can’t believe you did this, Jeongin!” He blushed feeling you press your lips against his. He felt proud, being able to make you this happy.
You had long since abandoned your heels, choosing to throw them with Jeongin’s jacket. He watched your bare feet pad against the concrete floor as you dragged him back onto the dance floor. He loved that out of everyone here at your party, you wanted nothing more than to spend your time with him.
Your friends passed by, giving you birthday wishes and greeting your boyfriend as well. “Don’t you want to spend time with your other friends?’ He asked dancing with you, as the song changed.
You shrugged taking his hands in yours. “Everyone I could possibly want to be with is standing in front of me.” Heat rose to your boyfriend’s cheeks, making you smile. Your arms wrapped around his neck.
After the party had ended, you and the boys tiredly stumbled out of the club, singing random songs. Jeongin’s smile glowed under the street lights. The two of you watched as Chan and Minho tried to pull a drunk Jisung away from climbing a light post. The two of you laughed, Jeongin stepping into the street to hail a cab.
Before he could open the door for you, Jisung pushed passed him with a laugh as Chan worked on shoving him into the vehicle. “Sorry guys! I think we need this one.” You all laughed as Changbin and Minho joined them in the cab, purposefully squishing Jisung in the middle.
The cool night air brushed over your shoulders making you shiver. Noticing, Jeongin took off his jacket and wrapped it around you. “This has been the best birthday. Thank you, Innie!” You leaned up and kissed him, making the remaining boys whoop and holler.
The two of you waited until all the boys had left safely, some more safely and sober than others. He laced his long fingers with yours, before walking down the street with you. In the other hand he carried your heels. “You really are the best boyfriend.”
He shrugged, a shy smile on his face, his eyes trained down on the pavement. “Promise me one thing?” He asked, swinging your hands between the two of you.
“Of course,”
“Don’t make me go clubbing more than once a year. That was exhausting taking care of the rest of the boys.” You burst out in laughter before nodding and kissing his cheek.
Requests are open my lovelies! Just send an ask!

Good For You
A/N: Another self-indulgent Freddie fic <3 Just felt like part one needed a part two! So here she is. Enjoy and let me know what y’all think, as always :)
Word Count: 3.3k
Warnings: An age gap and smut
Part One // Masterlist
Freddie thinks you’re too young for him, but you let him call you up for no-strings-attached sex anyway.
It happens for the first time about a week after the start of his season. He’s sore and needy, and you’re the person he thinks of because ever since he fucked you in Arizona, he hasn’t been able to think about anyone else. The sight of his name flashing across your phone screen throws you into a tailspin and after the third ring, you finally pick up.
“Hello?”
“Are you busy?”
“No, I was just cleaning up dinner.”
“You should come over.”
He hears you sigh and he knows that you’re thinking about saying no, but he’s sure he’ll combust if you do, so he jumps in again to stop you.
“I’ll come to you.”
You let him in no more than twenty minutes later, shaking in anticipation for what’s to come as he shrugs his jacket off and slings it over a stool at your kitchen counter. And then his hands are on you and he’s placing you on the counter so he can slot himself between your thighs.
“I’ve been thinking about you every day since Arizona.”
He undresses you between kisses and spreads you out on the counter before kneeling between your thighs and eating you like you’re his last meal. He works you through three orgasms and stimulates you until his name becomes one with the curses and moans falling from your lips and you’re pulling at his hair to get him to stop.
He takes you on the living room couch later that night, rough and frenzied. His massive hand on the base of your neck, cheek pressed against the cushions as he fucks you into them.
“Fucking you is the best and worst decision I’ve ever made,” he grunts as he fills you up, free hand gripping your ass. “You’re addicting.”
He’s addicting, you decide after he leaves with a kiss against your forehead. You watch him disappear down the hall, legs aching, body shaking, and you know it won’t be the last you see of him. You have a feeling you’ll be seeing a lot more of each other, and true to his word, he’s back for more before you know it, like an addict.
The moment you open the apartment to him, he’s kissing you.
“Freddie, this is becoming a bad habit,” you murmur against his lips as he walks you backwards towards your bedroom. He huffs against your lips before pulling away.
“What about this is bad?”
His lips ghost the skin of your neck and you sigh happily, tilting your head to the side to give him more skin to kiss. His hands engulf your entire ass as he presses you up against the wall. Your hands curl into his hair, tugging on the strands lightly as he kisses down to the valley of your breasts.
He places your feet back on the ground and pulls your thong and leggings off, kicking them down the hall once you’ve removed them. Your hands make quick work of his belt buckle and jeans, but he only lets them fall to his ankles before he’s pushing you back up against the wall and entering you.
Your gasp fills the room and he gives you a minute to adjust before he’s pulling out and thrusting back into you. One hand rests above your head while the other grips your waist, keeping you steady against the wall.
“You like when I fuck you like this?” he asks, even though he knows the answer. Of all the women he’s been with, you’re the dirtiest. That’s part of the reason he keeps finding himself crawling back to you, among other things that he hasn’t quite unpacked yet.
“So much,” you moan. “Fuck me harder, Fred.”
He sucks marks into your neck and against your collarbone as he slams into you. Your moans fill the room, whining and whimpering until you reach your high. It doesn’t take long, seeing as your pinned against the wall with him surrounding you. With a few more thrusts, your pussy is pulsing around him and he’s filling you up, teeth scraping your neck as he groans against your skin.
When he finally pulls out, Freddie places you gently on the ground and pulls up his jeans. He’s blushing all over, smiling to himself as he watches you retrieve your clothing from the floor. He presses you back against the wall once your dressed and meets you in the middle with a filthy open-mouthed kiss because he just doesn’t know how to keep his hands off you. He wonders if he ever will.
“I love fucking you,” he admits. “More than you even know.”
-
Freddie thinks you’re too young for him, but you end up as his plus-one to a Leafs event anyway.
It’s not a great idea, but after Auston suggests it over dinner one night, Freddie can’t seem to shake the idea from his head, so he asks you to come.
But, that’s not the extent of it and he ends up finding a dress a few weeks before the event while he’s shopping for himself. He tries to talk himself out of buying it for you, only to find himself buying it the next day. It’s silk with thin straps and a slit up the leg. He can practically picture it on you and can’t help the smirk that comes to his lips when he thinks about taking it off.
You arrive home to it a day later and find yourself speechless after slipping it on. It’s just right for you, in every way, and you feel seen by Freddie. You feel like he gets you in a way that no one ever has before. Scenarios fill your head of the two of you together, hand-in-hand, kissing in front of his teammates and his bosses. You find yourself hoping they’ll come to fruition when he brings you to the gala.
You snap a picture of yourself in the mirror and send it to him and you’re satisfied when he texts back: I can’t wait to take that dress off you.
The event arrives and the moment you pull up to the banquet hall, you’re regretting the decision to come.
“Are you sure about this?” you ask in front of the banquet hall. He looks confused by the question, but then he smiles.
“Of course,” he answered nonchalantly. “It’ll be fun.”
You manage to evade the media scrum outside the event, having been swept up by Steph after getting out of the limo, and you wait for Freddie at the bar. When he enters the room, he searches for you and you watch, basking in the feeling of being wanted by him. His eyes finally land on you and a smile reaches his eyes as you wave the glass of liquor you’d bought for him in the air.
“Thank you,” he whispers as he steps up to you. His large hand settles against your back and he tugs you against his body, mere inches separating your lips. You hope he’ll kiss you. This is the moment you spent your nights daydreaming about, embarrassingly enough, but then he pulls away and you’re left feeling deflated
“Mr. Frederik Andersen.”
A man in a tailored suit steps up to shake his hand and you have a sneaking suspicion as to why he pulled away from you now. Freddie greets him, then his wife, and then the man looks at you.
“And this must be your significant other.”
“Oh, no,” Freddie speaks, brushing off the mistake a little too easily. “This is a good friend of Auston’s, and myself.”
You swallow thickly, pride getting caught in your throat on the way down. There was a moment, a pause between Auston’s name and his, like he doesn’t want to admit there’s something there between the two of you. He places his hand on the small of your back once more. It feels foreign, like it doesn’t belong there, and you want to jerky away from him, but you grin and bear it for the sake of the event.
For the rest of the night, he charms everyone in the room while you sit at the table. You feel like you don’t belong, and maybe you don’t because Freddie’s done an awful job at making you feel welcome.
His eyes don’t ever really leave you throughout his orbit of the room, but he looks away for a moment when the DJ calls attention to the dance floor for the last slow dance of the night. When he looks over to your table in hopes that you’ll dance with him, you’re not there and he catches sight of you slipping through the doors to the hallway.
He rushes out to the hall to catch you.
“Baby.”
“Oh, I’m baby now,” you murmur to yourself. “Not Auston’s friend.”
“Where’ve you been all night, huh?” he asks, pressing you against the wall with his hips, clearly not having heard what you muttered. He’s smiling, but he sees the unhappiness in your features. He leans in to kiss you only to be shoved away. “What are you worried about? No one’s even out here to see us.”
“I don’t want to kiss you in public,” you growl, ducking beneath his arm and disappearing into the bathroom.
You avoid him through your cab ride to the club and ignore him at the bar. Everyone notices how cold you’re being towards him because it’s unusual, even he expects you to land in his lap at some point. And you know that he’s still watching you while deep in conversation with Mitch and Morgan a few steps away, he’s still wondering what to do about the situation he’s found himself in.
“Fred’s in the dog house with his girl.”
“She’s not my girl, Mitchy.”
“Oh, c’mon,” Morgan scoffed. “You’ve been together for a bit, no?”
“We’ve just been sleeping together. She’s too young for me.”
He thinks his voice is low enough, but there’s a lull in the conversation you’re having with Steph that allows you to hear it. She sees your ears perk up and your eyebrows draw together and worry etches across her features.
“Let’s get another drink,” she suggests. But you’re sure that another drink would send you over the edge, so you decline, saying that you’d rather get ready to head home. While she scampers back to Mitch, you gather your things.
“Where are you going?”
Freddie’s just a step and a half away from you, eyebrows creased in concern as you stuff your phone into your purse. You don’t even spare him a glance over your shoulder as you answer.
“Home.”
“Without me?”
“Yeah, Fred, without you,” you growl, finally turning to glare at him. You march off, leaving Freddie in your dust to digest the words thrown at him, but he finds you again on the sidewalk.
“What’s wrong with you tonight?”
“I’m just not doing this with you anymore,” you announced, waving a hand between you. “You seem to think you’re the only one calling the shots here, Freddie, but I have feelings too! You can’t just come over and use me, fuck me, and then go around telling people that I’m too young for you. I’m not just somewhere to put your dick.”
Your words make his blood run cold and then he’s reaching for you desperately, but you step out of his grasp completely and his hands drop to his sides.
“And seeing as how poorly you’ve handled this situation, I am positive that despite the years between us, even I might be too mature for you,” you growl. “Goodbye, Fred.”
-
Freddie thinks you’re too young for him, but why should he give a fuck anyway?
That’s the conclusion he’s come to after being without you for almost a month.
He’s out on a date with a woman just a few months younger than him and he’s bored. He can’t help but imagine what it would be like to have you sitting across from him. He knows he’d be laughing, he knows you’d be trying to turn him on beneath the table, and he knows that he’d make love to you for the rest of the night after that.
Except he can’t have any of that because he fucked up, but the thought of you with him is all consuming and he ends up driving to your apartment after the date to try and salvage your relationship anyway.
“I want you.”
Those three words smack you in the face the moment you open the door to him.
“I said I don’t want to sleep with you anymore, Freddie.”
“I want you more than that,” he speaks, taking another step into the apartment. You press a hand against his chest and lightly shove him back into the hallway. He tosses his hands up in frustration before carding his fingers through his hair. “C’mon, YN, will you listen to me?”
“I’m listening.”
You hope that he can’t see through your glare. It’s hard to keep up a front when he’s standing in front of you for the first time in a month and he looks like that. His sleeves are rolled to his elbows and the pants he’s wearing are the type that hug his thighs and ass perfectly. You could climb him like a tree, and if you’re not careful, you would do it before he even began to grovel.
“I’m an idiot.”
“Good start.”
“I don’t know what I was thinking,” he sighs. “I don’t know why I let you go. I was on a date tonight and I just couldn’t stop thinking about you. She wasn’t you. I couldn’t do it.”
There’s a pause and Freddie could hear his heart pounding in his ears, hoping you’d be willing to forgive him.
“Freddie, you could date hundreds of women, older than me, younger than me, older than you, the same age as you,” you list. “But you will never find someone exactly like me. Do you get that?”
“Trust me, I do,” he murmurs, stepping forward as if he’s suddenly absolved of all the bullshit. You take another step backwards, keeping the distance between you, and he groans, head thrown back in frustration. Then, he drops to his knees right in the doorway. “C’mon, baby, what do I have to do?”
“Fred, get up.”
“I’m begging here, sweetheart,” he coos in a soft voice. You roll your eyes, a laugh spilling out of your mouth involuntarily. And then he’s wrapping his arm around your leg and placing a kiss on the inside of your knee before creating a path of kisses up your thigh.
“I have neighbors!” you scold, a little pathetically, but a little frantically as you glance down the hall. When you look down at him again, see his blue eyes gazing up at you from between your legs, feel his breath fan across your core over your shorts, it sends a wave of goosebumps over your body.
“Let me in and I’ll make it up to you.”
You yank him up by the forearm and he comes stumbling along with you into the apartment, your lips meeting for the first time in a month.
“You have a lot of groveling to do.”
“This is just a start, okay?” he asks, hands finding their way beneath your shirt. “I’ll make it up to you a hundred different ways, or in a hundred different positions, whatever you want.”
“I just want you.”
He throws you over his shoulder and carries you down to your bedroom, dropping you square onto the mattress where he looms over you, lips finding yours once more.
“Let me show you how good you are for me,” he whispers. “How good we are for each other.”
He kisses down your neck, fingers toying with the hem of your t-shirt until he’s got it up and over your head. Your bra goes next and you moan as he sucks on your breasts. He continues peppering kisses along your stomach until his fingers curl beneath the band of your shorts and they join the shirt on the floor.
“Cute,” he remarks at the bow on the front of your lace panties. You blush, hand covering your face to hide it, and then you gasp because he’s placed a kiss against the cotton covering your core.
“Fuck, Freddie.”
He tugs the panties down and tosses them on the floor with your other clothes. His tongue begins to massage your folds a moment later and you squirm at the sudden contact. Freddie drops an arm over your waist to keep you from moving, adjusting himself so your legs are over his shoulders.
He inserts two fingers into your cunt to work in tandem with his tongue and you grip the sheets at the added pressure, back arching in pleasure. He moves his fingers slow to start and then begins fucking you with them, faster and harder and soon, you’re gripping the sheets, back arching in pleasure.
He sucks your clit, licks your folds, and curls his fingers in your pussy until your screaming, until you squirt into his mouth and your wet is dripping down his chin. Your chest is heaving when he pulls away with a smile.
“I didn’t know you could do that.”
“Me neither.”
He crawls back up to loom over you and kisses you slowly, tongue swiping along your bottom lip before he tugs it between his teeth.
“Why are you still clothed?”
“This is all about you,” he answers, kisses peppering along your collarbone and neck while you catch your breath. He pulls away and gazes at you playfully. “Should I not be clothed?”
“Well, I don’t know how you’re going to fuck me with your clothes still on.”
He laughs gruffly and then sucks in a deep breath as your fingers find his belt buckle. His pants are kicked off the bed moments later and you kiss as his shirt is unbuttoned and shrugged off his shoulders. Your hands dance along his skin, curling around his shoulders and tracing his muscles. It feels surreal to have him again, hovering over you as you kiss softly. It feels even better when he enters you slowly, softly.
Freddie can’t believe he ever thought he could live without you. How stupid of him to care about the difference of age when you were so perfect, so special, so you?
“Fred, I missed you,” you sigh as he rolls his hips with yours, both of you on the edge of desire. He sighs into your neck.
“You have no idea, YN.”
Your orgasms come quicker than they ever have before and you’re seeing stars within minutes. He fucks you through both of your highs, lips only leaving yours for a moment to moan into your skin as he cums. He rolls off you after, but his arm wraps around your shoulders to pull you with him so your head rests against his chest.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers, pressing a kiss against your forehead. You responded with a content hum, wrapping your arm around his waist tighter. “I’m an idiot. You’re everything to me.”
“Is now a bad time to tell you that you’re too old for me?” you tease. He sits up immediately to glare at you. When you start giggling, he rolls his eyes and flips you onto your stomach. His lips skirt over your shoulders to your ear where he takes your lobe between his teeth before pulling away to whisper in your ear.
“Too old, huh? Do you need me to remind you how loud I can get you to scream my name?”
“Please, daddy,” you whimper, pressing your naked ass against his bulge. He groans and you know that you’ve got him right where you want him, and he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Freddie’s yours and you’re his, and there’s nothing that can come between the two of you—not even a couple of years.
