Book worm to book dragon pipeline

A pipeline we need to talk about is the book worm to book dragon pipeline. Like, did anybody else start out as a book worm in primary school only to dive headfirst into being a book dragon once high school hit? I can't be the only one XD

I literally made a post on Tumblr about this idea but thought I'd actually share it here but decided to make a more special version:

The y/ns one day going into a throw down to see who is the best y/n...the superior y/n...like the embodiment of the song 'the ultimate showdown'...Or, if you want another version I think is also super fun...'the ultimate smash bros' lol...

And can imagine the cookies standing idly by in shock as they see things like streamer cookie throwing a left hook at alien y/n or entity y/n going John Cena on timid y/n...oooor the cookies, when they notice the y/n show down, start trying to stop it, loving all the y/ns and not wanting them to destroy each other lol!

Decided to write this bonus with the version where cookie are trying to stop the fight...just various scenarios that are happening all at once because of the number of y/ns lol:

Entity, in a tree about to jump from it elbow first onto timid y/n: AND THEIR NAME IS ENTITY Y/N COOKIE!

Regular, seeing entity jump right at them: OH DEAR WITCHES-

pure vanilla, quickly running up to push timid y/n out of the way and then catch entity so they don't take fall damage: BOTH OF YOU, STOP! WE LOVE YOU EQUALLY!!!

Meanwhile:

Streamer, holding a modified keyboard to work both as a keyboard and a blunt weapon in their hands: LET'S FUDGING DO THIS!

Alien, with a blunt alien weapon: COME AT ME, YOU COWARD!

Caramel arrow: OK, BREAK IT UP YOU TWO!

Meanwhile:

Timid y/n and shy y/n...really not wanting to fight but know this is a free for all and both immediately think the other is gonna kick their butt: .....

Both immediately start crying.

Cream ferret rushes up, trying to calm them both down: shh shh it's OK you don't have to fight, let's go for hot chocolate instead...doesn't that sound nicer?

They both go off with cream ferret.

Just pure chaos heh...sorry if this idea sounds stupid just with the y/n tag having so many different kinds of y/n cookies...having a creative mind and listening to these songs all combined really makes ya think XD

On a random day of a random week on a random month in a random year, the Y/N cookies found themselves in a predicament. They wanted to be the best Y/N cookie. But what happens when everyone wants to be the best? They argue and fight to claim that title. And unfortunately for the cookies, these 17 cookies were no different.

Ancient Y/N cookie and Beast Y/N cookie are trying to stangle each other

hello there :))

I have been back for a while, but as you can see I literally died for like a good 6 months ToT

but…

Yeah, January had hit me like a train really hard. If you were to remember one of my last posts was on New Years xD

I got really busy during that time and I was dealing with mental health problems. I was put in a bad headspace and I lost a lot of motivation again to work on posting art. I had time afterwards, during the summer…but I guess I was mentally exhausted, then pushed my way back to posting again.

Before that time I gained so many followers from the start 2023 and so on. I progressively changed my art style and finally found a stable one. My motivation though, kept on going up and down. I didn’t really know how to stick with posting art in the first place but I think I got the hang of it.

I appreciate you guys so much, I would never thought that so many of you would like my art. I wished that Tumblr had a heart button for each comment and reblog with tags bc I would heart every one of your guy’s positive comments :)) They make me so freaking happy!

I have so many more ideas and projects in my head to come for the AvA/M fandom but it will take some time I have to get into the rhythm again. I truly love this fandom, there were times I wanted to drop it though. But seeing so many of great art and creators making this content made me motivated and inspired me. This community is so much fun, I love being in it.

Everyone is always so positive and supportive, and there are great artists in it. I used to be the kid in an anonymous profile without an account and scroll through many of the posts…but now I get to have this experience and I so glad that had the guts to do it.

I will continue to try to post. But every once in a while I might fall behind schedule. I live a life as a busy person but it doesn’t stop me from creating art for you guys. I can’t wait to release the next ideas to you guys! Thank you for all the support you guys have given me! <3

In my ever increasing journey to get more comfy with my OC and my eventual OC/insert Story project, I've been getting art of Quill.

This is going to be a LONG LONG post cause I'm including art and tagging who I can tag.

Most of said art is by @yamiyamiart and as delightful as it is, it's not something I can post to tumblr XD

But I can share the Rayleigh x Quill one since it's merely suggestive xD 😇❤️ (And a Kid x Quill that I am pretty sure was the first thing I comm'd from Yami when I was still hesitant to throw my smutty ideas at someone)

Today I go an adorable piece by @aholepeach (who is that on bluesky and a_hole_peach on Twit). He pulled me in with his comics, and I love the kind of grimy soft vibe of his art.

(It's beautiful and skrunky - it has a weight to it that's present both in the body and the emotions, and I just really love it.)

@magnuspool also helped me out back before I even knew Quill was going to be named Quill. I had naught to give this art goddess by a handful of words and a very very smol idea.

I love everything about Mags, and the amount of nervousness I had approaching her for art would probably surprise a lot of you. She's super cool though, and a delight to work with. If you catch her comms open, don't be shy!

Polizon from twitter did a really great job with the composition on the request I had - aside from some direction on Quill I didn't provide any other references ^_^

I just love that they're both very much capable fighters AND researchers. (What can I say, Fullmetal Alchemist was one of my first absolute favorite animes and you have to train the body AND mind.)

Last, but by no means least, is @stevienix - who took a waist up Pic crew for reference and gave me a nice full body for Quill ^_^ (I cannot overstate how much I need those boots in my life.)

She's an IRL friend, we've broke bread together so show her some love, and be nice while you're there too.

4). What fandoms do you write for?

Julie and the Phantoms is my main fandom, although I dabble in Red, White & Royal Blue occasionally (ie. more than I expected).

Past ones: Metal Gear Solid, Stargate Atlantis, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Iron Man (+ the occasional visit in a handful of others)

5). Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes. I think it's just good manners to say "thank you" when someone said "I liked your fic". I'm not a YouTube/Insta influencer girl. I'm not here for followers, I'm here for community. And I've found some of my best (fandom) friends via comment section conversations.

That being said, I've definitely had times where it was difficult because of brain fog or guilt at not having finished a story or because the comment was actually so overwhelmingly wonderful I would get too emotional every time I tried to answer. It's a form of socialising and takes socialising energy, which is not always at hand. But I'm working on reducing the pile of shame and I got it down to 12 now that I still need to respond to. (Though some of those are placeholders (aka replies to comments I wrote) as reminders to go back and finish reading/commenting a fic)

6). What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Breathe [Extended] (Metal Gear Solid) is very angsty throughout although the ending is kind of hopeful in a teeth-gritting determined kind of way so I don't know if it really counts. But until I post my magnum opus/white whale of a fic, Nature 2.0 (also MGS), I think it's still the best choice because everything else has happy endings.

PS: oh, I thought of a small mini JatP one shot, that's pretty angsty in a way though too short actually to have any proper beginning and ending ...

7). What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

All the rest XD But let's go with In Your Starlight because the ending has that bouncy kind of optimism and hope for the future that always makes me smile.

8). Do you get hate on fics?

Not much, thankfully only one truly upset me.

There was one instance of anon hate I got via tumblr message on a genderbent MGS story, which was written for a prompt my giftee gave me, so not even really my idea. It accused me of transphobia for some reason but it was so laughable, I ignored it.

And then there was, of course, a dark moment in the JatP fandom where every writer who dared to write smut was put on a blacklist and accused of pedophile tendencies, which was definitely NOT fun, despite the outpour of love and support that elicited.

9). Do you write smut?

As seen above, yes I do write smut. I don't do it too often these days and I don't want it to be the only thing I write (although that's totally legit and I know several writers who do it splendidly, @hot-elf included). But I'm pretty happy with every one of the sex scenes I've written so far.

10). Do you write crossovers?

The first fanfic I ever started to write (as a wee teen without a clue), was actually a massive crossover (2x Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate, X-files and probably more I've forgotten about now) but I haven't done it much or seriously since.

I've read excellent crossovers but so far, I've never been tempted tp write one.

11). Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of. I'm happy about that of course but I remember when someone on Wattpad stole several smutty JatP stories and mine weren't among those and I was almost insulted mine hadn't been chosen XD

But nah, on the whole: PLEASE DON'T STEAL MY FICS!

12). Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! Silent Souls (Fantabi) got translated: Silent Souls (Vietnamese translation). I can't say anything about the translation since I don't know any Vietnamese but I was very flattered (even though I don't think many people read it)

13). Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

Kinda. I haven't sat down and actually written a fic with someone (though I tried once until we both kind of lost interest) but I have turned two truly massive and epic RPGs I wrote with @textualpoacher (Iron Man & MGS) into fics with her (or we started to, at least). I haven't given up hope yet to finish them some day but it's not a priority in any way (and I first need to dig out the files from ancient computers).

It's why I count Iron Man as one of the major fandoms I wrote for even though that's not reflected on AO3. Because we posted the fic on ff.de and had written much more than posted, so it was very dominant in my life for quite a while.

14). What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Impossible to answer. There's too many and I love them all.

15). What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Nature 2.0 (MGS). ALTHOUGH I WILL NOT ABANDON ALL HOPE!!!

The story is too complex and ambitious and research- and plot-heavy for my current skill levels (and my current time/focus/etc) but it's also my dream project that I would very much LIKE to finish one day.

Even less likely (though also a dream project), I guess, is the Victorian Stargate Atlantis AU I started. Same problems apply. At least I never posted anything of that on AO3. Just in a private forum that no longer exists.

16). What are your writing strengths?

Hm ... characters, emotions, descriptions, metaphors, humour (and occasionally smut)

17). What are your writing weaknesses?

PLOT!!! Also action scenes (I think, I've mostly been too afraid to try them plus they usually require plot which I also suck at).

Not technically writing but part of the process and definitely a weakness: research! Hate it.

(you see why those dream projects are still dreams rather than actual projects)

Idiomatic character speech + giving characters distinctive narrative voices.

And as a non-native speaker I honestly don't care enough about the distinctions between British and American English.

18). Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

Tricky. If it makes sense for the character, yes but there should always be a translation either in the end notes or an explanation in the fic itself. And if it's more than a word or sentence, I wouldn't do it and instead do that bit as a 'telll' not 'show' thing and summarise the dialogue because otherwise it gets boring pretty quickly for someone who doesn't speak that language.

And there's two pitfalls of course: a monolingual person trying to write a bilingual person and/or a person writing a language they don't properly know and then having readers who do. Can get awkward.

19). First fandom you wrote for?

That massive crossover mentioned above so: like five at once? XD

The first thing I posted online was, of all things, a one shot for Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along blog, which, I think, nobody read. I didn't write anything for that fandom again ;D

20). Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

Why would you ask me to choose between my children??? *wails*

... I tried to narrow it down by fandom but even that doesn't work! How do people answer this??? I'm bisexual, I can't choose between things for the life of me!! (I'm also forever baffled by people with favourite movies, shows, books etc like HOW? THERE'S SO MANY OF THEM AND SO MANY OF THEM ARE GREAT!)

Have Dear Dave. A MGS fic I'm still super proud of even though there's things I would add/alter if I wrote it today. But there's a physical copy of that fic on my shelf and I've been told it's got at least a little notorierty in the fandom as a destroyer of hearts. Tears have been shed over this fic, including the fake ones on the physical journal (though making the coffee stains was more fun).

1. How many words did you publish on AO3 in 2024?

So far only 6 one-shots! The rest of my multi-chapter fics are still ongoing.

3. How many in progress or ongoing fics did you start this year?

This is my first year writing ACOTAR fics so I started 4 ongoing fics!

4. What was your favorite thing you wrote?

This is like picking a favorite kid haha, but Flying Changes has definitely change my life for the better. It just started off from a simple idea I posted and the reaction I got was explosive in the best way possible.

I rode for eight years when I was younger before I had to give it up for a lot of reasons. One day I would love to return to it, but for right now I'm reconnecting to it through my favorite couple <3

5. What piece was your most experimental or different from your usual style?

So two pieces I think best fit this question which is The Joker and the Queen and Labyrinth of the Night.

The Joker and the Queen is a fluff rom-com piece for the Acotar Gift Exchange and it's different my usual smut and or angsty fics, but in the best ways! It's such a fun piece to write and make Nessian be idiots in love.

I also chose Labyrinth of the Night as it's my only feysand fic (for now 👀). I'm a Nessian writer so writing outside my main ship is always a bit hard. I haven't always been a fan of feysand but I've read a few feysand fics that I just loved that I wanted to take a swing.

6. Did any fics surprise you - either while writing or their reception?

Honestly, The Blood on your Hands. I was mad about HOFAS once again, so I wrote a small fic of Cassian beating the brakes off Rhys for his reaction to Nesta (don't worry, Rhys is fine. Maybe I'll write a sequel where Feyre plays doctor xD).

I wrote this fic getting out my feelings and before I knew it the reception was huge. It's my most popular one-shot to date.

7. Do you have a fic you wrote and loved that went under the radar? (This is your sign to reblog/repost it!)

Probably Keeping the Summer Nights Away. It's a small fluff piece for Nessian week, and it's just very simple, but I honestly just loved writing Nessian doing a self-care night together haha.

8. Who is an artist that inspired you?

Oh jeez so many but to name a few - @dustjacketdraws madschofield (instagram), llibiarts (instagram), @jmoonjones, @janearts, @vivictory-draws.

These artists amazing at what they do and their art always makes my jaw drop!

9. Who is an author that inspired you?

Oh my goodness, again a lot of people but to name the ones who really convinced me (literally just by their writing alone) to jump head first back into writing fanfcition - @c-e-d-dreamer @kale-theteaqueen @separatist-apologist @moodymelanist to name a few.

I read ACOTAR back in 2020 so a little a before it really blew up, and eventually I ended up on Tumblr again seeking actoar content when Twitter got too toxic for me.

I was fanfic reader for the longest time. I did write for other fandoms when I was younger, but I either deleted or orphaned my works as I grew out of said fandoms. So for about four years, I just read fanfiction from the ACOTAR fandom. It was too the point that I tried to read whatever new Nessian fic was uploaded daily haha.

I wanna shout out one of the first Nessian fics I read, A Favor. It was the first fanfic that really spoke to me that I wasn't alone in how I felt about Nesta and her treatment with Cassian/the IC and vise versa. Come to find out years later, it's a classic for a lot of Nessian stans.

12. What accomplishments are you proudest of?

Taking a chance at writing again <3

13. What did you learn about writing or creating this year?

That I should be kinder to myself, and it's probably best to start off small. I started a fic back in March/April of this year with Eris/OC and I think the concept was good, but there was so much thought I was putting into, that I just ended up bored. It was going to be a heavy plot story about Rhysand's daughter that he had with Amarantha that featured dragons and a ton of OCs, but it just honestly back fired lol.

It was way too complicated and I didn't have the spoons for it. And you know, it happens lol. I have since deleted the fic because I don't plan to work on it.

14. What is your advice?

It's the most basic writing advice, but write what you know. If you go too far out of your comfort zone, it may be more damning for you in the long run.

Also if you can, use a text-to-speech service to help hear your story before you post it. I use the immersive reader on Outlook (I don't send my fics anywhere lol, but immersive reader is available for drafts). It's not perfect, but it helps give me a second pair eyes when I'm tired of visually editing.

15. What are your creative goals for 2025?

Finish at least two if not three of my ongoing fics! Participate in more character and ship weeks/weekends. Maybe finally get enough money to get a commission done for one of my fics.

hi. gah. okay. here's my wrap up for the month

📝 prepped for and completed the last set of internal tests for this degree [2/2] (which I got through after much cribbing and whining and quite literally projecting study topics onto my blorbos 👍 ) 📝 started GRE prep!

🎓 got some gradecard related paperwork done 🎓 spoke to my prof regarding my internship deliverables for uni—report format, certificate requirements, etc etc

📥 I voted! it was the first central elections since I turned to an adult and the whole experience was quite interesting

💻 completed a bunch of tasks for my internship

💻 made like a super extensive flowchart about all the work done at my internship which took me like a total of 20+ hours T-T 💻 finished preparing my Uni Internship presentation! 💻 submitted the presentation to the assistant guide, waiting on her response to make changes atm

🍶 7+ glasses of daily water intake 🎵 svt's new single is out and I've been going insane about it and thus this challenge comes to an end... I had started this off as an 18day daily habit tracker but then it kind of grew out into a challenge for the month. Special thanks to Yumi the loml <3 (@thelastneuron) for starting the Days of April challenge (Yumi idk when you'll see this but i miss you and I hope you've been kicking ass during your hiatus). also massive thanks to Zip (@zipstidbits) for leaving the kindest comments/tags on my post during the past week and to Tanishka (@booksbluegurl) who is literally the sweetest and has been sending in asks and keeping me company during this challenge <3

month end brainrot

april started off with dips and more dips but by the end of the month it feels like I've caught up. productivity is a wave so as long as I keep riding at it i'll be okay.

also. progress is cumulative. even the seemingly inconsequential completion of daily tasks has lead to an overall improvement through the week. things add up

I spent a lot of time this month (and moreso this past week) feeling dejected that I've been leaving my tracker posts (and my digital planner entries) incomplete... but like. the whole point of trackers and planners (and this studyblr) is to get work done. work is the priority and the tracking is a means to an end. so if im getting work done that is already a win. yeah... i've had to keep reminding myself that

there is no one-tool-fix for tracking and journalling. what works for planning out one task will not work for the other. I need to strop trying to fit all my plans into one formulaic strategy box

on that note. it's time to return to handwritten journaling. digital journalling (notion + YPT + discord + tumblr) was fun while it lasted <3 but my brain needs novelty again so it's time i switch back. I think I finally have an idea for a system that could be sustainable for me... although I say that every time I switch to a new form of tracking. but hey. as long as it helps me get work done for whatever duration of time, it's good enough

using kpop and kdrama references to make notes and study really paid off. ngl I only did it cause I was super desperate but incorporating stuff I couldn't understand with a topic I really like paid off. Okay okay back with more Bandit questions and observations now!!! Hi!!! First off, what's the model of his gun? Literally just curious, really doesn't mean anything unless I feel like drawing it lmao. Secondly, what's his thoughts on the people in power/the guardians + the queen (I'm lumping the Judge into the guardians)? You said he won't work when he can survive well on his own, but does his dislike stretch out to even wishing harm on the guardians? Actually, does he know if a guardian dies, their Zone dies, too? How knowledgeable is he on the world of OFF's lore and how it functions?? Thirdly, does he have any friends I should know about? You drew him interacting with Project Goldfinch/Just Finch to break up the text in my first ask, what's their relationship? Does Bandit scam him to hell and back, or do they just casually chat every now and then? Fourthly, I VERY BRIEFLY checked out Ask Bandit and here are some observations I made: Uno, how come you ship him with Red from Animal Crossing? Is it cuz they both steal and resell?? If so, that's hilarious and I love your sense of humor. Dos, when drawing him with Elsen 7 I did not know Bandit currently resides in Zone Three, because 7 lives in Zone One. This whole time I was under the impression he travels through Zones for some reason lol? I guess that's my curse of having a handful of ECU Elsen that do that themselves lmao. Last but not least, not something Ask Bandit related, just generally speaking, would you like to see any future doodles I make of Bandit, whether he's interacting with my own OCs or otherwise? I modeled Bandit's gun after a Glock?? Kinda?? I didn't really reference a specific model, more like loosely inspired. I probably should create a prop-reference for it, but I haven't yet.

Bandit's dislike for authority does not stretch to wanting to take out the guardians. It would be counter-intuitive to his role as a merchant to kill off his customers by killing off the guardians. Bandit cares too much about profit, and although the guardians are annoying, without them he wouldn't have profit.

Bandit is fully aware on how the world of OFF works, it's inner workings, and other meta things.

Bandit will say anyone is his friend, even if they clearly hate him. Louis would be the only one that would truly think of Bandit as a friend (except maybe my elsen-sona, but they're a mary-sue type oc and should probably not be counted if we're talking in-universe/story lol)

As Finch is the protagonist in my game concept, Bandit will be the merchant selling them items. Finch is distrusting of Bandit, but sees him as a necessity in their mission. I do have an idea where Bandit does steal something from Finch to propel the plot, but who knows if that'll stay in the final lol

Bandit x Redd is a joke ship created by @brandy-elsen (tagging the account it was posted on and not your current account because I do not wanna waste a tag on this I am sorry Brandy AHHSGFG). All the credits to her for the comedic genius. I think you guessed right as to why that ship exists tho. I just drew it for that post because it met the "two pieces of fanart" criteria I set.

Bandit travels the zones, your initial assumption was right. He is only in Zone 3 on the askbandit blog because of the story being told on there. He's gotta refill his stock of sugar manually since sugar happens to be one of the things he cannot magically pull from his pack.

World of Warcraft is my primary right now, followed closely by FFXIV. I also dabble in Sailor Moon, but I haven't actually posted any of my SM ficcage in years. Maybe someday soon...I also used to (USED TO) write Harry Potter fanfics.

It hasn't been written yet, but definitely the Shadowlands era of my WoW fic.

I'd say Cold Hands. It's all fluff and has a good feeling of contentment, friendship, and growing affection at the end. No looming wars or anything XD

Queens Take Royals is straight up smut, hehe :D I write a lot of it, but haven't posted it yet. Been debating on starting a small, side story just for smut....we'll see.

Nope. Well, kinda? It's still up in the air. Cause part of me really wants to crossover my WoW and FF fics because there are sooooo many possibilities (and I've even written a small tumblr snippet New-Old Souls based on the idea a few years ago.)

Yup! It's never been posted (and never will be) because it's between an IRL friend and me ^^

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

For my OCS? Definitely Izzy/Sylvanas and Izzy/Varian. They're oh-so-complicated for all the best reasons.

For Sylvanas and Izzy, their relationship is built on time. They had 40 years together before the Fall of Silvermoon, and most of it was spent long-distance. Sylvanas had other lovers (Nathanos and Jaina in my fic) and Izzy had her playmates (she very much loves frequenting her cousin's brothel) yet they always came back to each other. Both of them worked hard to keep the feelings alive through letters, clandestine visits (on Izzy's part since her mother was a controlling bitch), communication, and trust. It's why in Promise, Izzy's so determined to keep her word to Sylvanas. While Sylvanas tests Izzy's commitment constantly, something Izzy finds exasperating, she does her best to accommodate. Likewise, Izzy's emotional reactions as one of the living (and cause it's Izzy's personality) confuse and annoy Sylvanas, yet she deals with it because it's part of who Izzy is.

Varian and Izzy's relationship started with a spark that eventually became a bonfire. They met once and had an instant connection that Izzy kept alive through letters while Varian came to see the night they met as a touchstone of safety. Of course, things got more complicated after that. Izzy had to tread carefully both because of Sylvanas and the risk of being branded a traitor to the Horde. Varian also had to keep his distance both because of his position as High King and because of the history between the Alliance and sin'dorei. Being on opposite sides of a never ending war did nothing to smother their flame, though. If anything, it made each time they met more emotionally charged, forbidden, and intense. Izzy's compassion and empathy challenge Varian's view of the world as whole, while his strength of spirit and conviction are safe harbor in the storm of Izzy's emotions.

15. What’s the wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Uh.......it's not so much a wip as a "sip" (series in progress) and it goes for both Mara and Izzy's stories. I want to keep following both through the respective expansions and changes in the games, but considering how slow a writer I've become, I dunno if that's gonna happen XD

16. What are your writing strengths?

Fight scenes. I dunno why or how, but I've become really damn good at writing fights, whether it's all-out war between two armies or a more personal one-on-one duel. In fact, a lot of my more memorable comments are about scenes like the Wrathgate or the battle on the Steps of Faith. Of course, they're some of the hardest to plan, especially for the large-scale battles, but oh-so-satisfying when they hit just right.

I also like to think I handle dialogue well. I've gotten used to that trick of actually voicing my writing out loud to see if it makes sense to my ears. Add in the character voice, the genre I'm writing, and what the character's saying, I then make adjustments if I think it's too formal, too stiff, etc.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I struggle just to get through the moment-to-moment minutiae. Like, I know Point A and I know Point F, but getting through B-E is a freaking pain in the neck. Especially if I know Point F is going to be one of those scenes I've just been dying to write for a long time.

I repeat sentences/phrases a lot. Like, "nodded" or "tilted their head" or "raised a brow," that sort of thing. I've gotten better at spotting them...for the most part XD

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

Not unless I'm familiar with the language, it makes sense for the character, and it's a part of the story.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Sailor Moon!

20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?

Right now, Toward the Dawn is prolly my favorite. It's my most recent, yes, but compared to Promise, and even the early stages of SitL, I see how much I've grown as a writer. The descriptions are more vivid, the dialogue punchy, my characterization's deeper, and I just overall like it more, haha.

My biggest WIP at the moment is still apartment renovations! Fixing holes and painting walls, but there's now only one corner left, then I'm fucking done and it can't sublty stress me anymore xD

I am having a real good time with the whole process though like... I have no idea yet how long I'm gonna live here, but no matter if it's 3, 5, 10 years, I sure as hell want it to be a cool place for the time being.

Writing-wise, I've started the next chapter of "Love is Stored in the Olive Jar". I don't have much to share yet, but here's the opening lines:

V awoke coughing and choking, sputtering a red cloud across his pillow. He quickly sat up, his throat tight and scratchy, mouth like copper. His vision was blurry, he thought from sleep still at first, but no. Through visual glitches and blinding pain he could only just make out the dark red stains dripping from his nose and mouth onto the bedsheet. He gasped for air still, his chest hurting as if he had been stabbed.

Art-wise I have been working on a secret gift for the cp2077 new year's exchange that I finished the other day :3 And I have some wips of the bois (TM) but I can only share one on tumblr for reasons:

Hi! 💞 as far as I've seen most roleplay here on Tumblr happen in public via ask box, you send/get sent any type of roleplay prompt or start of conversation (there are blogs who post rp memes and starters for people to reblog so that others can choose a prompt to send from the list, but it's not always required to wait for a prompt list, you can also send/get prompts and starters without having reblogged a post beforehand) and after the answer to that ask the roleplay moves forward through reblogs

Example: you send me an ask saying "Hi" and I answer to that ask with "Hello", at that point if you want to continue the rp you reblog my answer with your own continuation like "How are you", after which I reblog yours with my own continuation and so on and so forth for as long as we want

If a thread happens to get too long after a while (something that might happen, I once had an rp thread go on for months on another rp blog of mine, it was a monster of a thread) you can also make a new post starting with a "Continuation from" or something along those lines (personally I love to use, "Previously on [Name blog/Title rp thread]" but everyone uses what they prefer) with a link to the previous thread so that it starts anew and it's not too long anymore, and of course you can do that as many times as it's needed

As for roleplaying in private in the dms, to me personally it happened only once. The other blog wanted to try out some triggering themes but didn't want to write those things where everyone else could read them so we ended up roleplaying in my dms

I honestly have no idea if it's a common thing or not, but as someone who grew up roleplaying on F*ceb*ok where most rps happened in private chats (some did happen on public posts but no one wanted to risk posting things that might get reported/banned, especially with the group I used to be in where we would often indulge in dark themes, heavy angst, explicit torture and sometimes even NSFW roleplay between our characters) it's not that weird to me so usually it depends on what my roleplay partner prefers

It's very rare for me to feel embarassed or anxious about roleplaying something so I'm always ok with public rp (and yes, even public NSFW rp, though usually I put those kind of things under the read more thing)

Other than that I guess it can change from person to person, maybe some have a preference for private rp and others for public rp, I've seen some who only accept asks from mutuals and keep anon off, but usually each blog has their own rules posted for those things so it's easy to know

I've also noticed two different ways to divide between muse and mun, some people use the "/" when talking as the mun (ex, *Character does/says something* /Omg this was so fun to write XD <- second part is the mun and not the character, usually put a couple of empty lines under the rp) while others use tags (ex, *Character does/says something* *down in the tags #omfg I can't believe he did that #this was so fun to write tho #your answer was so good #idek wtf is going on anymore* and each reblog adds new tags of their own to talk outside the rp as a sort of conversation), personally I've used both depending on what my rp partner prefers (I adapt quite easily) so use whatever you feel is right for you

Now, I'm not a Tumblr rp etiquette professional so there might be things I don't know/forgot to mention/got wrong, but also it's pretty easy to learn once you get into the right circle, I remember the first time I started roleplaying (both here on Tumblr and before on the Book app) I was basically going in blind and just imitating what everyone around me was doing while barely understanding why they were doing certain things until I started learning by observing and got bolder with my own roleplay so don't worry if you don't understand/know everything right away and give yourself some wiggle room to learn and make mistakes here and there

As far as I know I follow exactly two Italians and my dash is utterly FLOODED with Sanremo madness right now. xD it's fantastic I have zero clue what's going on but I kinda wanna look it up and watch

Anyway, Sanremo is the colloquial name for the Festival della Canzone Italiana (Italian Song Festival) held every year in the city of Sanremo. It lasts for five nights, with a number of artists competing to win first place in between comedy sketches and serious monologues, and is one of the longest-running tv shows still on air. The winner is supposed to represent Italy during the Eurovision Song Contest (tho they can decline if they don't feel like going) but Sanremo actually predates and even inspired ESC. The English Wikipedia page on it has more info on it, ofc.

... however, I'm pretty sure it fails to mention how Sanremo isn't just about music or even about competition. It's about political, social, and cultural discourse. It's about memes and shitposting. It's about DRAMA.

My own Sanremo 2023 post that was savagely censored by Tumblr until I removed the picture of that year's co-host, influencer Chiara Ferragni, wearing a dress with fake nipples on it (no, none of the year's Incidents were about that) (One did involve Ferragni's husband being lap-danced on, dragged on stage, and kissed by a male performer tho)

How many wips do you have currently?

Oh god. Too many xD 4 active-ish ones? And 10+ less active ones 😅

Which one are you finding the hardest to finish? Why do you think that is?

In the Palms of Life and Death just due to the amount of world building I'm doing for it. It's also one I want to try and write all of it for before posting. Which is taking its sweet time. But I do still love my Necromancer Hob and Cleric Dream~

What does it usually look like when inspiration strikes for you?

It's never when I'm at my computer, I'll say that xD It's usually when I'm either at work and not able to swap to my personal computer or I'm out and about. So in those cases, I'll tap out whatever words my brain gives me on my phone. Which is how most of my tumblr-first fics were made.

Do you curate playlists for each fic or is your process different?

Not usually. I know I'd get too distracted by the music selection to write if I did lol. But I'll usually have one or two albums at the time that get words flowing for whatever reason. For the past six months it's been Sleep Token's "Take Me Back to Eden" album.

Do you go balls to the wall and write as you go or are you more organised?

Oh I def start balls to the wall every time. It's only after I've gotten out whatever initial scene was plaguing my brain that I'll go and do some outlining so I can get my thoughts and ideas organized. And it helps me keep momentum after that point.
