for one i think, about girl!carlos:

carlos has major main character syndrome except maybe she isn't really. and how are you the main character when your teammate is charles.

she is the middle daughter. enough said.

she is her dad's favourite because she showed the most affinity for motorsport. her dad always told her she couldn't be too emotional, too soft, too anything. because it made her weak. she's internalised a lot of that...

which is why when oscar piastri appears on the track it pisses her off a lot because he is the embodiment of every (lack of) outward emotion her father's told her she should be. op81 always seems in control, especially as someone who is supposed to be way greener than her.

girl!carlos's Whole Thing is also about. being special. being loved. being cared about. this is a sport that inherently doesn't care that much about her, just about the spectacle of her and what she represents

and! lando acts more soft towards boy!oscar than he ever felt comfortable acting with girl!carlos at mclaren. and though she still golfs with him every weekend she would never say anything about it but it still bites a little bit

all of this results in deep power plays and rancid vibes with oscar jack OBVIOUSLY. like these are Her issues but op81 is a convenient avatar to like. project that stuff on and make him the villain. ("am i your villain, really?" "no. you are a convenience.")

apparently there's a stance in the fandom that gojo is often wrong/unreliable for instances like assuming yuuji would direct them to sukuna's fingers in the beginning because of this scene:

personally, i didnt interpret this scene as him being wrong. he is definitely right in the sense that sukuna's ultimate goal is to regain his whole power by retrieving and consuming his fingers. however, at that time gojo assumes that sukuna will be a bit more cooperative because of a lack of options, since he doesnt know of sukuna’s interest in megumi or the details of his plan to defeat him by using megumi. i think that's also what gege was trying to convey in the fanbook (as sukuna wasn’t trying to regain his power by gathering his fingers at that time but rather by trying to switch vessels first)
