imagine a star wars universe where Ashoka survived order 66.
Imagine her and Obi Wan being able to convince anakin to not join the sith. Ashoka being just the right amount of stubborn and obnoxious that Anakin can’t ignore her. Ashoka training Luke Skywalker. Telling him about his father, how he took risks, but almost always succeeded.

Separated this from another post. Cloud is bae please.
I think what really drew me to Cloud as a character was that he was so problematic. So many weaknesses, so many glaring flaws and definitely not the typical main protag who is usually gung ho and all bravery(sorry Zack XD). It was something I could relate to easily and feel inspired by, rather than be overtaken by feelings of inadequacy. Cloud Strife is a character that starts out rock bottom- continually hits rock bottom even after he achieves great things and that is pretty comforting in its own right.   The odds are always against him- but he triumphs over and over again with the proper support of a caring community.
His very circumstances of how he became a hero allows people to hope and believe even if they have a low opinion of themselves. I think this was touched on in the game itself too.
It’s also why I have a problem when people start calling him an emo character. Maybe it’s because ‘emo’ has a negative connotation- it gives the impression that Cloud is being that way on purpose, when he is clearly suffering from a multitude of problems- both psychologically and emotionally. When ‘emo’ is used to describe him, it feels like people are sweeping under the rug all the bad things that happened to him and reject the impact of that on his wellbeing. Sounds familiar?
Basically, it’s indicative of a disturbing trend of how certain people stigmatize or are unable to recognize mental conditions for what they truly are (I’m guessing those people have been lucky enough to not go through a depressive episode) and trivialize the problems that come with being mentally ill. Depression is a hell lot more than writing sad lyrics and creating melodrama.
If there’s ever a poster child for a problem kid, Cloud would be it. It’s funny how he is seen in two extremes- either you think he’s the most inspiring and lovable character ever or you hate his emo pretty boy guts because you think he is more popular than should ever be.
