hello and welcome to twinsoftheday!! this is a blog that documents sets of twins from various media for no reason other than that i thought it would be fun. inspired by blogs such as @canonlgbtcharacteroftheday, @canonlgbtcharacters, genderoftheday (rip), and @fashiondolloftheday. (also note that i am no longer posting daily, just whenever i have the urge to lmao)

complete rules and submission guidelines are under the cut, but just know if you joke about incest it’s an instant block <3

submission guidelines:

submit your characters using the ask box.

name both characters and the media they’re from (example: hallie parker and annie james from the parent trap).

state which categories apply to the characters (example: sharpay and ryan evans from high school musical, fraternal and mixed-gender twins) [note: clone/double twins do not count as identical twins unless there is a specific in-universe reason for them to (e.g. they were raised to believe they were identical twins), so please clarify that if you are submitting identical twins where one or more is also a clone/double]

only include a picture if there’s a specific one you want me to use (do not use fanart unless 1. there is no canon art of the characters and 2. the artist has given permission).

try to specify which version of the characters you're talking about if there are multiple adaptations (example: ruth and connie batten from the malory towers book series)

the honorary twins category is for characters who are not twins (they don’t even have to be related!!) but have a close, twin-like bond. when you submit characters for honorary twin consideration i’d appreciate a bit of propaganda (example: will byers and eleven/jane hopper from stranger things. they consider each other family, are both the same age, and also share many thematic parallels, so i consider them honorary twins).

ineligible for submission: triplets (or quadruplets and so on and so forth), real people/historical figures/celebrities (unless it’s funny, i’m obviously gonna post shit like the da vinki twins), characters in romantic relationships with each other (mostly applies for the honorary twins category but again no twincest shit).

eligible for submission: non-human/animal characters (just clarifying because some people asked), mythological figures (e.g. historical people who weren’t real), and your own ocs!! as long as you provide art you have drawn/comissioned/have permission to use (picrews are not eligible because i don’t want the blog to become clogged up with them).

do not submit incestuous characters. i made this blog to catalogue twins in fiction because i myself am a twin, and funnily enough i'm not interested in posting about incest. (this is not an indication of whether i believe incest can exist in fiction; obviously people can write whatever they want.)

banned characters (some of whom were submitted despite my rules being VERY CLEAR): junko and mukuro from danganronpa (incest), mcu maximoff twins (racism), and anyone from harry potter (FUCK JKR 🍅🍅🍅)

as i said above, i have the right to not accept any submission for any reason. at the end of the day this is my blog so please respect that <3

i’ve already said this but no joking about incest for the love of god- (and don’t try to be funny and send me an anon ask about it, i'll just delete it).

i will do my best to tag spoilers but i'm not familiar with every piece of media i post so i may miss some. please let me know if this is the case.

One. I reserve the right to ignore anything that is sent to my ask box. If it doesn’t go along with the guidelines I have set or I simply just don’t condone what the requester is asking for, I will not post it. I’ve seen many roleplay finding blogs post requests that made me sick to my stomach, and obviously that is well within their rights to do so, however, I, as a human, have my limits. I expect those limits to be respected.

That being said, requests asking for the following will result in a block:

Pedophilia

Bestiality

Race Play/Racism

Homophobia/Transphobia

Will add more as needed.

Two. This roleplay finder is strictly for people 18 or older! I will not be accepting any asks or even follows from minors. Minors will be blocked on sight, this includes ageless blogs.

Three. I do allow requests for Dark Content and NSFW, however I ask that you do not dive too deep into the details and leave that open for discussion with whomever your roleplay partner may be. However, when it comes to kinks/tropes that are specific like incest (legal age gap), dub/noncon, teratophilia/monsterfucking, etc, make sure to state them! These are acceptable. When it comes to requesting characters from a fandom, they absolutely have to be aged up!

Four. I do not allow RPF. That's it, that's the TED Talk. However, just to be clear: requesting the use of realistic faceclaims is okay! Just so there's no confusion.

Five. If you are requesting certain fandoms, use the whole name! I am not familiar with everything and frankly there is just one person running this blog, aka me, and I do not have the time, nor energy, to look everything up.

Six. Submissions of the same ad will be deleted if they appear more than once a week! You can request as many other things as you wish within reason, however asking the same thing over and over again clogs up my inbox and forces other requesters to wait for their own to be posted. Please do not ask me if I got your request repeatedly, I have a life and can't always spend every free moment I have on this blog. This takes time!

Seven. I do allow requests stating specific fandoms, gendered pairings, canon characters x canon characters, group roleplays, fandomless roleplays, and asking for specific requirements in a partner such as gender and age range.

Eight. The password is simple (any heart emoji at the top of your request), and even if you include it in your request that doesn't automatically mean it'll be posted!

IMPORTANT FOR PERSONALS AND EVERYONE ALIKE: Do not reblog any threads that you’re not apart of! I’ve had this happen to me too many times and I’ve gotten tired with messaging people who refuse to take my posts down. If you do this, I WILL BLOCK YOU.

For Personals: While I will not write threads with you? I’m still fine with you sending asks and questions for my muses. Even though this is an RP blog, this account is still considered an Ask blog too in my eyes.

I usually reply to 1-2 threads a day, just to keep myself from burning out too quickly. Most replies that you DO get from me will usually turn up within a two week time span. However, you’re allowed to message me once or twice if I forgotten to get back to your thread within a month. Sometimes I do tend to forget threads if I’m busy, or tend to drop them suddenly due to time constraints or I’m just not feeling for it anymore. However, if you feel I haven’t gotten to you in a while and you want to keep a certain thread going? Feel free to let me know.

Don’t get angry at me if I haven’t replied to your thread right away. I’m human as well, you know.

I am NOT a RP meme achieve! Please do not reblog RP Memes from me if you’re not intending to send one in return. I’ve seen it done so many times on here that it just really hurts people only use me for that sort of content. ✨️ IMPORTANT STUFF

I strictly ship with chemistry, which extends to muns also. We must have actively written together and communicated for at least a couple of months, and our muses must have interacted for a couple of threads before I’d even consider it. That said, shipping isn't my primary goal. If I don't vibe, I don't vibe. That's it.

I will no longer write starters for new mutuals due to numerous negative experiences in the past. You’re free to interact via memes, or go ahead and write the first starter if you wish.

I'm slow activity, not often on the dash, and have frequent migraines, hence the queue and my being extremely selective. I organise the queue as fairly as possible considering the number of interactions I have going with multiple muses.

If you refuse to interact with any OCs as a general rule on your blog, I won’t interact with you.

OCs are always welcome here. However, if you specifically want to write your OCs with my canon muses but don’t interact with any of my OCs over on @uselessdevice, threads with your OC will be lowest on my list of priorities. As harsh as that sounds, I’m not willing to be treated like a canon vending machine.

All potentially triggering content is tagged under what's in the box, including but not limited to: suggestive or nsfw threads, violence, abuse mentions, cannibalism, murder and blood drinking. Please ask for specific trigger tags if needed.

Please like and reblog memes and aesthetic posts from the source, especially if you're not sending any memes.

When I follow back, I’ll reach out to say hi and ask which muses you’re interested in. If you don’t respond within a week, I’ll soft block. While I don’t expect anyone to be permanently available, it’s a very simple and important question. If you don’t bother to answer, especially if you’re very active on the dash otherwise, it tells me that I’ll always be chasing you for the simplest of responses and that’s a hard no from me.

I write multiple villains and muses who do bad things. I won’t restrict them for your comfort and if your muse fucks around by antagonizing them, they’ll find out. So just be mindful.

I write in multi para / novella style and don’t enjoy one liner threads.

Threads with priority muses / verses will be my main focus. See the pinned post.

If I no longer vibe with your blog or we never interact, I'll soft block. I tidy my following list regularly. Feel free to do the same, but if you don't want to interact anymore, please soft or hard block me.

Plotted threads, especially with mains, will be prioritized. Small talk threads with no direction will be dropped as and when needed. If you generally reply super fast, I'll probably limit how many active threads we have at one time.

I match the energy I receive. If I’m ignored multiple times after reaching out for interaction, I’ll move on. Same if there’s a lack of equal energy in plotting or moving threads forward.

If I see this on your blog, I will instantly soft block out of personal preference.

No rules, biographies or info. Heavy emphasis on smut, particularly GIFs, untagged or not under a read more. Chronic blog hoppers. Anyone with a DNI or any kind of drama or negativity on their blog. Excessive OOC posts that clog the dash. Blatant vague posting or guilt tripping. No actual writing on your blog. Back and forth one liner threads that clog the dash. People who beg for interactions constantly but never answer what they have.

If I'm not interested in writing with you after checking out your rules, biographies and writing style, I'll soft block (unless you state that you prefer to be hard blocked in your own rules). If you repeatedly refollow I'll hard block anyway.

Important Announcement

In light of all the negative comments that myself and one of my followers are getting through my ask box, I feel it’s necessary to make some changes. I will not be turning off anon this time, but instead I will be blocking and/or deleting any hateful comments unless it really needs to be addressed.

My goal for this blog is to create a safe space for people to come to, and it’s been getting clogged up by hate and negativity. I won’t be allowing that to happen anymore, so you can rest assured that you won’t see many more issues with that. If the comment needs some education, or if I’m unsure if it’s meant to be hate, then I will address it, as sometimes someone isn’t properly educated and needs the guidance to realize what’s what.

I love you guys, and I want to keep you happy, not worried about me. I want anyone who is planning on sending hate my way to know that I will not give the ask more than a passing glance, so don’t waste your time. You don’t bother me, so why don’t you take that time and work on yourself? Think about what’s making you say these things, and learn to properly love yourself.

Red Rose, Blood Moon

Welcome to chapter 5! This is an original story inspired by the tale of Red Riding Hood. I would like to say a special thank you to my best friend and co-author Olivia ( @asunshinepuff ) for joining me in writing this world onto paper.

CW: This chapter contains mentions of weapons, stabbing, blood, and drunks. You have been warned.

This story contains only original characters created by Olivia and myself. For those of you who want to be tagged, feel free to ask or Olivia on her blog. If you have any questions, theories or curiosities about any of our characters or how the story will progress, send them to the ask box!

Chapter 5: Down The Snowy Mountain

Rosabella was rendered speechless for a long while. The man hadn’t bothered to wait for a response, he rose to his feet. The wound on his arm was nearly completely healed, then again, the silver arrow had only grazed his shoulder. Rosabella took a breath, quickly turning after the man who was walking away.

“Wait!” She chased after him. She nearly stopped, her eyes widened. His back, on his right shoulder blade, were three long scars that had healed and were pale compared to the rest of his skin. He must’ve been attacked by some large creature years ago for the wounds to have healed so well. She shakes her thoughts from his head, she blocks his path, staring at him with wide eyes.

“How did you heal so quickly?” Rosabella stared at the skin of where the wound had been, it looked red from irritation, almost like the wound was healing from a mild burn.

The man didn’t dignify her with a response, he stepped around her, walking towards a tree. He bent over the large roots, picking up a plain black shirt, then a deep red leather vest, quickly putting them on. Effectively covering up the dark mark upon his chest. Then he retrieved a cloak that was red, only his cloak shade of red reminded her of red wine, or blood. The cloak had no hood, only thick black fur trimmed at the top. Next he grabbed two black wrist braces. They were engraved, what looked to Rosabella like a wolf, but the body was long and twisted. It looked Celtic. After tying the braces, he grabs a sword with a black sheath, strapping it to his side quickly, and finally a long thick bow with his quiver of arrows. Only then did he finally pause to look at Rosabella.

“You shoot me and don’t offer an apology, then start demanding answers.” He shakes his head with a dry laugh.

Rosabella pauses, frowning before she follows after him, “You’re right, I apologize. I didn’t mean to graze you with an arrow. It’s just,” She looks behind them, her eyes scanning the frozen forest, with bear trees and nothing but snow on the ground. She walks slowly behind him. The man didn’t seem disturbed at all, as if he had nothing to fear in these woods. Had she only imagined the wolf’s return?

“You really didn’t see it?” She spoke in the softest of voices.

“See what?” The man asks in an exasperated tone, turning just enough so he could look down at her. It was a wonder that the man even heard her at all. He wasn’t standing close to her. He did not look impressed, he looked annoyed and bored. Rosabella only frowned.

“Oh I don’t know, how about an overly large looking wolf with a craving for flesh?” She snapped. Did he truly think she was crazy?

“I wouldn’t know, most run away at the mere sight of me.” The man retorted, he continued on his path. Rosabella followed.

“Do you not realize how dangerous those creatures are? We are lost in the middle of the woods-”

“No, you are lost in the middle of the woods.” The man interrupted her. “I know exactly where I’m going. You’re just following me. Which reminds me,” He paused to look at her. “Could you kindly stop?”

“Well you’ll have to forgive me, you’re the only other person within these woods, and just so we’re clear,” She motioned the two of them, narrowing her eyes at the man, “I didn’t get lost on my own volition. I was brought, no, dragged here.”

The man watched her, his eyes shifting over for a moment. He clicks his tongue as he looks at the trees, he appears to be deep in thought. “I’ll take you to the nearest village, no further.” He promptly returned to his trek down his path.

Rosabella blinked, taken back. Wordlessly she follows behind him. They walked for a long while, the man seemed to appreciate her silence. Rosabella tried to gather her bearings of wherever this place was, she had never been to a place with barren trees and frozen ground. She looked to the man who had not spoken since they began their walk about the frozen woods.

“I’m sorry.” Rosabella whispered. The man didn’t stop walking. Perhaps he didn’t hear her this time.

“For what?” He eventually answered. Her head snapped to him.

“For the way I spoke, I am not usually -”

“Annoying, childish, hot tempered?” The man offered. Rosabella grimaced.

“... was I truly that awful?” She spoke mostly to herself. He spoke to her as if he was chastising a child instead of a grown adult. She raised her voice to answer,

“Yes, I am tired and had an eventful night, but that is no excuse. I didn’t mean any disrespect.”

She lowered her head, her hood shielding her eyes. She didn’t see the man turn his head to look at her, or the narrowing of his eyes. He said nothing, only continuing his path. They walked in silence once more.

Rosabella still didn't know where she was, “I apologize but, where are we? We have walked for a long time and I still don’t recognize this forest.”

“We’re near Norwich.”

Rosabella froze, her eyes wide. “What?” How could she possibly be hundreds of miles away from her village in a single night?! Norwich was nowhere near Paris. “That’s not possible… ”

“You doubt me? Me? Was it not you who was lost and wandering about in the forest?” He raised a brow at her.

“I didn’t mean,” She tries her best to articulate the words that clogged up in her throat, “My village is near Paris!” Her eyes were wide in slight panic. “Surely you could understand my situation?”

“No, honestly I cannot. Nor do I really care. I have traveled to many places and I knew where I was headed. Norwich is the only village I bother to visit anymore.”

Rosabella looked at him in surprise. Norwich wasn’t a small village per say. There was a church and merchants traveled there frequently.

“Is that where you’re headed? Are you visiting Norwich?” She asks in curiosity. The man seemed to prefer silence but he hadn’t ignored her questions. At first it seemed that he would not bother with answering, but would later offer a response. Rosabella lowered her eyes, perhaps her question was silly. He clearly was visiting Norwich, he had said he knew where he was going and politely asked her to shove off.

“... I promised I would.” He spoke at last. Rosabella was walking beside him now, he didn’t try to step ahead of her. It didn’t appear the promise had any real significance to him. He looked indifferent.

“To who?” She asked. Again, he didn’t respond right away. Rosabella doubted he would answer, it was a rather personal question, and she did graze him with her arrow.

“Someone who I haven’t seen in a long time,” he stopped walking and so did she, “an old friend.” He offered nothing more.

Rosabella stared at him with confusion, her eyes searching for answers. His eyes only glared at hers. As if she offended him. Granted he probably did feel offense to being shot at.

“You don’t like to talk much, do you?” She raised a quizzical brow. He scoffed, not even bothering to dignify her with an answer that was obvious.

“You don’t seem to know how to keep your curiosities to yourself. Nor the dangers of talking to strangers.” He side eyed her.

Rosabella only gave a tilted smile. “I’m Rosabella. And you are?”

The man blinks in mild shock, surprised by her boldness and complete disregard for decorum. Not that he cared.

“Red.” He offered.

Rosabella beamed with delight, she smiled. “Now we are not strangers to each other.”

“Hmm.” Red turned his head forward.

He looked down, they had stopped walking just before the edge of a small snow covered cliff, the forest right behind them. Norwich was just below them.

They entered the first tavern they came across, Red had tried to shake Rosabella off him, but the huntress was persistent if not tenacious. The tavern, Le Coeur Brise, was an old quaint thing, Red claimed it was new. It was dark inside but the sunlight lit up the building enough for people to be able to see where they were going. It was mostly empty, the bar keepers cleaning up the remains of the previous night, Rosabella approached a waitress.

“Pardon me, but could you perhaps direct me to Paris?” The woman looked to Rosabella, she grimaced.

“Uh, Paris, I do not speak french madam…” The woman spoke in broken syllables, she looked panicked. Her words were heavy with a Russian accent. Rosabella only took the waitress’ hand into her own offering a smile.

“Vse khorosho, ya govoryu po russki.” All is well, I speak russian. Rosabella spoke fluently. The woman instantly relaxed. The two conversed for the better part of the next ten minutes, Red had attempted to escape but Rosabella had just grabbed his arm and placed her beside her.

The woman eventually left, Rosabella turned to Red with a satisfied look on her face.

“You speak Russian.” It wasn’t a question.

“Yes, my grandmère was Russian. She would sing me lullabies in Russian.” Her smile was bright but her eyes looked solemn, if Red noticed, he didn’t say anything.

“She will call for a carriage for me.” Rosabella eventually spoke.

“Wonderful, now I can leave.” He turned to do just that.

“Wait!”

With a heavy sigh, he looked back. “What?”

“Let me buy you a meal, I have not eaten in nearly an entire day and our walk made me quite famished.”

“I don’t see the relevance of me staying.” He bluntly responded.

Rosabella sighed, “And as an apology, for grazing you with my arrow. And for whatever else I did to clearly have offended you.”

Red stared at her for a long moment, he exhaled deeply before he nodded his head in acceptance. They sat down at a table, Rosabella ordered for both of them since Red did not care what she picked. As they waited for their food to arrive, one of the drunken men who was passed out on the floor stumbled to his feet.

“Wench, another!” He hollard out, he was fat and his breath smelled of vomit. Rosabella did her best not to seem obvious about the smell whenever he spoke.

The drunken man swayed slowly, his head turned. Catching sight of her, a sly grin crossed his face. Rosabella internally winced at being under his lust filled gaze. He approached their table. Red didn’t seem to notice.

“What’s a pretty little maiden like you doin’ in a place like this?” He slurred. Red looked bored. Rosabella slowly turned to look at the man, a small smile on her lips.

“I was on a hunt and got lost in the woods. This tavern was the first one we came across.” She offered politely.

“Hunt? You’re a woman.” His eyes narrowed, it appeared to Rosabella that thinking was a rather difficult task for him.

“Yes I am aware.” The man only continued to stare her down. He was silent for so long that Rosabella was tempted to push the man with her finger, to see if had fallen asleep while standing.

“The woods ya say?” He belched out.

“Yes. The snowy woods just across the dirt road,” Rosabella motioned to Red, “This kind sir was passing through when we came across each other, and guided me to Norwich.

The man only frowned further. “No one goes to snowy woods.” He looks to Red, looking him over. “A beast lives up on that mountain, and hunts in those woods.”

Rosabella frowned lightly. She looked to Red, did he know? If he did, he clearly didn’t seem at all bothered at the idea of a beast living in the very woods he was passing through.

“We didn’t see anything.” Red spoke with such a finality, Rosabella nearly agreed. But she did see a wolf there. It just ran away for whatever reason. Rosabella was about to speak when an older woman approached the man.

“Ignore this old fool, keeps insisting a monster be livin up in that mountain.” She smacked the drunk on the arm

“Aye I saw it! When I was a boy! Runnin’ long that cliff to that there’ snowy wood.” The old fat man grumbled.

“Well whatever you saw, that creature is the reason why our village never gets attacked! It can live in that mountain all he likes if it keeps the other monsters out.”

“How old are you?” Red spoke at last, his head tilted just slightly.

“Wha?” The old man asked.

“You said you saw it as a child, how old are you?”

The man blinked slowly, as if to remember. “Sixty eight.”

Red looked the man over, he sighed before he looked away again. “What is the year of your lord?”

“1838,” The old woman answered, looking over Red as if he asked the most ridiculous question.

“You would have been nine at the time.” Red concluded. Rosabella frowned, how would he know that?

“Y-yes.” The man nodded. A grin breaking his face. “The mountain be snowin’ then too.”

“You idiot that mountain is always snowing.” The old woman smacked him with the towel that rested on her shoulder. “I’ll be right back with your orders.” The old woman walked back to the kitchens.

Red continued to stare out the window. The old man looked at Rosabella once again. He tilted his head.

“You really a hunter?”

Rosabella sighed. “Yes, I am.”

“You’re a woman.”

“And you're a sexist idiot.” Red spoke clearly, his chin resting on his hand, he looked between Rosabella and the old man.

“Were we not stating the obvious?” Red asked bluntly. The old man fummed.

“Why you?! You oughta show some respect to your elders!” He motioned to reach for Red. Rosabella quickly stood to block his path, holding a hand up to appease him. “Please, there is no need for violence-”

“Elder? You’re sixty eight. You’re a baby to me.” Red riposted. A faint smirk graced his face.

The man’s face grew crimson, Rosabella grew annoyed with Red for edging the old man on. The old man pushed passed Rosabella, knocking the table over, Red was quick to rise to his feet, he towered over the man by at least two heads. The old man yelled in frustration, charging towards him.

Rosabella gasps in horror at what unfolded next, the old man pulled out a dagger, stumbled on his own feet and stabbed Red. Right to his heart. Rosabella stood frozen, the old man stumbled back, his face growing pale at what he had just done. Becoming angry of the insolence of a younger man was understandable, but it was never enough reason to stab someone over!

Rosabella rushed to Red’s side but her eyes widened even more. He looked… indifferent. Mildly annoyed even. As if being stabbed was a mere inconvenience to him. Red only glared down at the man, his right hand reached for the hilt of the dagger that impaled his chest. Red’s eyes locked onto the old man’s, trapping him in place, like a predator staring down its prey. Without looking away, he pulled the dagger out. Dropping it to the ground, blood coated the silver blade. The old man fell on his behind, looking up at Red in horror. Sputtering out nonsensical pleas of mercy.

Red tilted his head down, his ice blue eyes darkened. The wound began to heal, until it was gone. As if he hadn’t just been stabbed to the heart. He only offered a wolf-like grin.

Requesting Lemons - PSA

Hey guys! Another PSA from yours truly, request writer for four years, going strong onto my fifth year.

After all these years, I’ve learned a lot - about writing and myself alike. Personally, I like lemon-y stuff. I always held it in high regards since it’s demanding and challenging to find the right words and fun ways to describe it, so to me, it was always a special treat. What I am trying to say, I have my experience, and I am not against lemon as a concept. In my time writing, I found out what I am comfortable with and what not, found some pet peeves and things that make me tired of being a request writer. About such a thing, I want to talk today.

It’s the requesting of explicit content. [Please note, due to Tumblr regulation, I’ll refer to it as ‘Lemon’]

After changing fandoms for the first time, it got clear really fast that my supportive first fandom was barely grazing the horniness and - bluntly said - lack of originality in many requests. I am not pointing fingers now, there are always requests that simply inspire you, no matter if they have a big story or idea behind them. It happens, it’s a spurt of imagination. So even the worst request sometimes can suddenly become the best, even if it is considered dull in comparison to others.

But what’s not okay is insisting on lemon elements in a request.

See, I don’t think that [Character] needs to fuck their significant other after, e.g., a breakdown/having dropped an apple at the market/lost someone significant to them/got hurt/and so many more.

You will think I am crazy right now, but no, those are all requests I have gotten in the past. Multiple times.

As a request writer, I feel like my requester thinks that writing lemon equals comfort. Which yes, in some cases, it does. Comfort fucking is a thing, and it’s not bad to write either. But it doesn’t replace a good hug, some advice, and a character really comforting his s/o. Personally, I think all it does is make a perfectly fine, valid request - that could have been fluffy, heartfelt, maybe funny, and comforting - unnecessarily horny.

Again, adding “Lemon please” to a request, does not make it better, is not helpful if the request has otherwise nothing to do with the lemon, and yes, many request writers don’t see a request, only an ask that will block their creativity.

So what do you do? Let me make it clear that requesting explicit content is NOT WRONG. If the writer is okay with it, nothing is stopping you, but remember one thing:

If you want to request a lemon, request a lemon. Don’t make a request and then, in the end, decide that your perfectly fine request should be lemon.

DO: “Can I request a lemon about [Character] and s/o celebrating their anniversary by doing some bed-hopping? Please, and thank you!” -> You went right to the point as to why they are fucking, gave the writer some plot to go off on. The writer now proceeds to write you an explicit story about how good their relationship feels even after a year of being together, how they still love each other so much, how [Character] can still make their s/o’s core tingle, etc.

DON’T: “Can I have a scenario of s/o breaking their leg. They are in pain, so how would [Character] help them, comfort them in this situation? Oh, lemon, please!!” -> This has nothing to do with the lemon. Why would this scenario be turning into a lemon, and how? The writer proceeds to panic, starring daggers into this request while they try to figure out what to do.

I hope this example made it more apparent as to why it sometimes is misplaced to ask for lemon. Not only that, but the request itself was good, the lemon addition is actually absolutely useless. It makes no sense, it has no core points, and simply, now the writer feels obligated to write it without the necessity or any idea how to do it.

I am almost done with this PSA, hoping it got a little bit more understandable why it is so hard to receive requests with the addition of “Lemon, please!”. But before I end it, let me explain what it also causes, aside from being unnecessary and taxing on writers.

There is no such thing as a constant income of requests. Request writers ALWAYS think twice about deleting requests, because they don’t know if they will have enough requests to keep the blog running on some point. They’d rather keep the requests, they don’t feel like they can do, in their ask box or drafts, until eventually, they can bring themselves to write them, or have to delete them with a heavy heart. No request writer WANTS to delete requests, that is not the idea, and we fear not having any because they are what a request blog is for. If we don’t get requests, it’s like a death sentence for the blog. But those requests that make us wonder how to write and what to do, are clogging not only the space they are in, but also our creativity as we want to please the requester by writing them, but just cannot find the inspiration to do it. And in the end of keeping them for months at some times, we delete them after all and are none requester wiser.

By writing a lot of lemon stuff, we are flooding fandoms. Fandoms that most of the time are 16+ and child-friendly. We can tag what we want, the possibility that someone who isn’t supposed to see them will click the ‘read more’ anyway and come into contact with it is not preventable. And we are not flooding them with the good stuff, we feed them with awkwardly written requests that didn’t have a reason to be lemon. We are telling these people that if they, e.g., break a leg, the only way to comfort them is fucking. This wouldn’t be a big thing if there were some posts, some explicit little stories. But because everyone is putting lemon on EVERYTHING, it’s EVERYWHERE. The possibility of seeing something explicit when searching for fluff is higher than finding actual fluff.

There is much more to say, but those are the most critical points that come to mind. There will always be exceptions, and I know not everyone agrees with me. But this is my experience, and more importantly, experiences from other request writers and even readers that came to me saying it isn’t really their thing to see how that interesting topic was turned into mindless fucking. Writing is not a porno, quite the opposite even. So repeat after me,

DON’T REQUEST LEMON IF YOUR REQUEST ISN’T SUPPOSED TO BE LEMON

Always remember that your request is okay as it is, and if it doesn’t need the fucking, then don’t ask for it. Alternatively, go to a blog specifically for lemon stuff, change up your request, request multiple things until you have everything you want. Support your writer and leave them some nice reviews on it, reblog their content to help spread awareness about their doings.

Hey everyone, I’m feeling better to open the ask and submission box today, but I do have a few.... guidelines I want to point out. I do apologize for the inconvenience last week, but my patience has its limits and I want this to be fun for everyone including myself.

Please keep all the asks sent here HK-related, I made this side blog for that purpose. Compliments are fine, they genuinely make me happy!

Don’t spam so many questions at once for a reply, and please don’t repeat them either...

I am not your advertising revenue so refrain from asking me through asks on looking at your stuff/AU/crossover/etc.

When I close the ask box for any reason whatsoever, please do not-- DO NOT-- send your asks through my other blogs, it is highly disrespectful and invasive to my privacy and need for space.

[Updated May 17, 2019] Asks will be answered in bulk to prevent clogging people’s dashboard. Any asks sent at 12am onward on the day of scheduled posts will have your ask to be scheduled for the next.

Please be reasonable with your asks... please...

I don’t do requests. Commission me instead!

I don’t want to go around and start blocking people after this, but it comes down to it then I will. Please respect me and be reasonable, that’s all I ask.

FAQ’s

I decided to get around to making a full FAQ to add to the sidebar. If I’ve missed anything, let us know.

Do you accept fuck coworker and manager submissions?

Yes we do! A while back we tried running a couple of separate blogs on the subjects but they weren’t successful because we continued getting asks and submissions here about coworkers and managers. Instead of just rejecting these we decided to accept them because they are a part of why customer service sucks. Changing the name of the blog isn’t necessary and would hinder the ability of our old and even new followers to find us if we suddenly just changed. We’ve been Fuck Customers for years, and it’s going to stay that way no matter how the blog evolves.

Why is the inbox/submission box closed?

We need to catch up because we’re neck deep in back log.

Can I use fan mail to submit my stories since the inbox is closed?

For the love of God no! This clogs the inbox up so bad and makes the process of catching up so much harder! Please be patient! We can’t reopen in a timely manner if we have to sift through and delete fan mail submissions that had no place being submitted in the first place in that format. Even when the inbox is open we delete those. The faster we can reopen the better. That all depends on our inbox remaining closed and uncluttered by fan mail. I may seem rude saying this, but it has become a serious problem and is hindering progress a LOT.

Can you tag (insert thing)?

We used to, but with how big the blog has become it is unrealistic to be able to tag absolutely every single thing. We’re going to have to trust that our followers will be able to put trigger warnings before their own asks and submissions. We get up to 200 new asks and submissions a day on top of our personal and professional lives, so keeping up with posting/queuing is top priority.

Do you need anymore mods? Can I be one?

Ultimately this is up to Mandie, but at the moment the answer is no. Three is more than enough. You know what they say about too many cooks in the kitchen.

What don’t you post?

Anything racist, transphobic, homophobic, xenophobic, etc for starters. Anything not on topic to customer service is a big one too. We also don’t accept customers whining about employees. There is a line where it might be acceptable, though, like a case where a customer may see a manager or coworker abusing an employee. But if you’re bitching because someone smashed your bread then you are in the wrong place. Go to yelp. Fan mail is not the proper course of submitting your questions or stories. Use the ask or submission options and if the inbox is closed then check back later. Finally, hate mail. We get a lot of it and it’s a waste of space. Now, sometimes we do post one of any of these simply to drag your ass through the coals. Catch us on a bad day and expect to get roasted. Don’t be an asshole and you’re fine. We also try not to post anything that includes real store names, so try to use a fake one.

Why have I been blocked?

If you said anything offensive in a note towards us or another follower then you will be blocked. That could be death threats, telling someone to kill themselves, racism, homophobia, basically being an asshole. If you’re dumb enough to send hate mail without being anon, whether it’s to us or another follower, you’ll also get blocked. We do not tolerate that shit.

I requested my submission be posted anonymous! Why did it get posted or why wasn’t it posted?

It is your responsibility to submit anon. We post what is given to us in a format that tumblr allows(why we don’t post fan mail btw). If we were to post your submission anonymous we would have to cut and paste. Multiply that by 100 per day and we’d be swamped. If it accidentally gets posted that is on you, but most of the time we just delete it.

I found something on here offensive! I’m sending hate mail right now!

You know that is the equivalent of asking to see the manager, right? Just skip the post and move on, you’re holding up the line.

*This does not include reporting posts that were accidentally posted that we would definitely remove. If you’re polite about it that is fine, but if you’re going to yell at us and tell us you’re unfollowing then that’s customer like territory. We get a lot of hate mail when all you need to do is point it out nicely. We also don’t condone sending hate mail to other followers. Maybe what they said was offensive, but sometimes good people don’t realize that their wording wasn’t that great. Sending hate mail isn’t the proper way to get your point across and help them learn from the situation.*

If I’ve missed any questions that need to be added let us know. These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Why hasn’t my submission posted?

We get this question a lot so I thought I’d compile a list:

1.) You sent it through fan mail. We do not post anything sent that way since it does not include an option to queue or post it, just reply. We stopped copy pasting submissions a long time ago.

2.) You included a store name. Some of these slip through, but for the most part these get deleted for the safety of your job and this blog. There are actually people whose job it is is to hunt down stories like these and punish those who tell them.

3.) You requested to be anonymous without actually submitting on anon. Again, we do not copy paste submissions.

4.) You said something extremely offensive. Such as racist, ableist, homophobic, xenophobic, etc. Sometimes you might find we will call you out on it, but for the most part these posts are deleted.

5.) You sent hate mail. We will sometimes destroy you in response, but we delete 99% of these.

6.) The subject matter has been talked about to death. After a while we stop beating the dead horse with a stick.

7.) You posted a customer complaint. Yes, we will post good experiences praising an employee, but if you’re here to complain about an employee from a customer point of view then you’re in the wrong place.

8.) Rarely tumblr will eat the post. If your submission hasn’t posted in a month and it does not fit the rules above then resend it.

9.) Also extremely rare we might have accidentally deleted it. Again, if it hasn’t posted in a month and doesn’t fit the first 6 rules resend it. I think this has only happened twice to me personally though.

10.) It’s already queued or still in our inbox waiting to be queued or posted. We get a lot of submissions and asks, so you’ll need to be patient.

11.) Also, if you send a long submission through several asks instead of the submission link then we’ll delete them all. It is difficult to find all the parts.

12.) It isn’t on topic for the blog or any conversation happening on the blog.

13.) Asking to become a mod. We’re not accepting new mods.

14.) Complaints about what has been posted that does not fit the criteria on this list. This is rare, but it happens.

15.) Anything that seems like it’s an advertisement.

16.) Your post did not seem like it was related to customer service in any way. If you did experience at work then you need to make it clear.

Don’t get angry at me if I haven’t replied to your thread right away. I’m human as well, you know.

I will NOT put up with having my muse(s) being controlled by others. If it’s something minor though? Please just ask.

My ideals and morals are not to be reflected in that of the expression/actions/and thoughts of my muse(s).

Please do not accept my muse(s) as a lover/spouse, unless it has been properly discussed between muns. However, if it’s canon with the two characters to be together, I can make exception to this rule.

I am open to any story genres, but I’m semi selective when it comes to smut writing. It just depends on the context. If I ever feel uncomfy, I WILL let you know.

I’m also a Multi-ship blog, any ship that takes place here is fine by me. However I will not ship minors with my muse(s).

Please do not harass me or send in anon hate. You will be blocked instantly if I see that at all in my inbox.

Do not try to bring me into any personal drama of yours, especially with other users.
