I had another Zoom call with Alex today

-Holy shit, every time I think I can't possibly love him more, I find out how untrue that is. I would absolutely take a bullet for this man.

-He asked how I've been (pretty sure he remembered me), and I told him that I'd taken my first day off in like almost two weeks, on National Pretzel Day (I work at Auntie Anne's), to talk to him.

-He said that he was just talking about Auntie Anne's last night and how funny that was, then he noticed the cup I was drinking out of was from Fuzzy's, and he went "No way! My brother in law and I were talking about that restaurant like twelve hours ago! This was meant to be."

-I mentioned the towns I grew up in and how my hometown is the biggest meth trafficking city in the state. He laughed and said something like "This is the first time I've ever talked about meth in one of these calls."

-I GOT TO SEE KEVIN!! HE WAS SLEEPING ON THE COUCH AND HE WOKE UP WHEN I SAID HI!!!

-My phone was on quiet when he was talking and it kept going off, and when I apologized and turned my sound off, I mentioned my notification ringtone was Fizz. He laughed and went "No, turn it up! I wanna hear!" So of course it went off again like three minutes later while he was talking, and he thought that was really neat, he was like, "I never imagined I'd be a ringtone." I told him that my sound for calls was The Whole Being Dead Thing, and he was like, "That's super flattering, I feel like I'm somehow a part of you, and I love that!"

-I showed off my collection of Funkos (I was sitting in front of my collection), and he thinks they're neat; he also mentioned he has the same Beetlejuice plushie that I do, and that he has like a thousand Beetlejuice Funkos because when the show got popular, people kept sending them to him.

-He also complimented my Keatlejuice shirt.

-We told bad jokes. He's a fan of dad jokes and bad puns and I love that for him.

-The trash truck at my apartment complex startled him; its very loud and my window was open and he goes, "Did someone just explode outside of your apartment??"

-We talked for a good while, but he was very nice about also answering any questions I had, which were:

-Is it more difficult emoting a character when you're voiceacting and don't have physical characteristics to use? (He said it definitely is more constraining, and that for the most part you don't have the context of what the other actors are doing to go off of, just half-finished animatics, but that he gets to go to work in his sweatpants and that its nice that he can take as many takes as he needs to get a line right) -A song that gets you hyped (Stargirl by McFly), a song that makes you sad (If I Ever Say I'm Over You by John Bucchino), and a "Nazi scalping" song (Bulls on Parade by Rage Against the Machine). -If you could take a physical prop home from LooLoo Land, what would it be? (the Frog with Human Teeth animatronic, which funnily enough was my answer too) -Any backstage rituals or superstitions? (No superstitions, but he's mindful of those that have them. He has 3 rituals; make the rounds after getting into costume and makeup to see who's on that night and to check everyone's wellbeing, listen to podcasts or standup while getting into character, and reminding himself and his cast members just before they go onstage that for someone out there, this is their first show, so make it a good one). -What's a funny Kevin story you have? (Once Kevin snuck into the office and somehow closed the door, and Alex and his wife were panicking for an hour because they couldn't find him; Kevin was perfectly chill and couldn't figure out what the big fuss was all about. He also told a story of Kevin, who hates water and being wet, diving headfirst into a dirty public pond to chase ducks. I love this dog more than life itself.)

-All in all, though the Zoom chats are only meant to be like 30 minutes, we ended up talking for almost an hour! He said he wanted to see the gif I made of him doing the Shrimp Squad hand gesture from the Instagram livestream, and that he loves it every time the Shrimp Squad is brought up.

-also he thinks I'm cool?????? which is like???? this is it I've achieved peak existence

-Absolutely going to do this again, and next time I'm going to make sure I have my roommate with me; they deserve a chance to say hi and to speak with him, and I've talked about them so much he actually wants to meet them.

Warning: this has opinions you may not agree with, like Tommy’s character not being as good as you think it is, Techno apologism with slightly good points and piles of balderdash.

SO! With the recent events in the dream SMP, you need to switch around the streams to get every bit of information, which I did at the end but watched most of Ranboo’s POV the whole battle (but only watched Technoblade for almost anything else if he was live), which means that………………….. drumroll please…………………… I’m doing a badly written character analysis and possible events that might connect to him. First off with the not very possible and far-fetched stuff to get out the way, I want him to somehow be connected to Dream banning the end because he’s half enderman, maybe with his newest “pick people not sides” character arc he will end up with a Technoblade kind of situation (I’ll explain this later in the badly written analysis). The start of Ranboo: I don’t know much about his start other than what I saw and people told me (+ animatics and animations, those helped a lot actually) for what I gathered, Ranboo joined the server by joking that he was going to become the president of L’Manburg if he joined, and surprisingly he did get invited and joined the server, I don’t know much of his first days other than the “being bad at first impressions” and “Technoblade interaction” but something that seemed important happened, and it was that if he won the next L’Manburg election (wich I doubt is going to happen with the whole L’Manburg being gone and just a hole now) he would give Tubbo the role of vice-president and if Tubbo won, he would be secretary of something something. Right off the bat, he becomes plot relevant again by helping Tommy burn down George’s house (which I would have made a whole thing about how Tubbo made a mistake in giving power to Tommy and caused other major events, and how if everyone found out what the badlands where doing of causing chaos it would be believable that they burnt down the house and blamed it on Tommy by saying it was them because Tommy would do that, but now it’s too late to talk about that) and helps Tommy the best he can when Tommy goes into trial and when Tommy is exiled is when he takes more of a secondary character role instead of a side character, he’s actively helping our protagonist (Which almost everyone agrees was Tommy and Tubbo) and putting himself into the story. When the community house was blown up and he woke up in what some of us call “The panic room” (honestly I don’t know if that’s a fan-name or the real name) he had a full breakdown of losing his memory book, in which, I didn’t mention this, he holds all his major memories and friends he has and people he has to help, I also didn’t mention this but Ranboo was there when a lot of the members got their character development moving on from past events and becoming better people especially the main characters Tommy and Tubbo. Ranboo wonders if he helped Tommy blow up the community house when he sees it blown up and this is where I found out that while Tommy and Tubbo might have the most experience in the main plotline and have a bit more risk from them being on their last life, Ranboo’s character is a bit overlooked (I overlooked him at the start, I know) and has better development than Tommy and Tubbo (but that’s just my opinion, further on in this point in my Technoblade/Tommy rant). With the “chose people not sides” arc it can end three ways, way number one, and the least possible to happen, it all ends well with everyone not choosing sides but friends that eventually bring dream’s dream of big happy family (supposedly) to reality and everyone’s happy. Way number two, possible but not as much, Ranboo will think that teams form sides and unless you’re alone and neutral you can’t not have a side, and he decides that his ideals are impossible and decides to give up on his ideals. Way number three and most likely in my opinion and how things are going with Ranboo, the thing I mentioned before, The Technoblade route of  his ideals making him a “bad guy” in the eyes of the protagonist because of a mistake he made, if you don’t believe Ranboo is going to end up like that because he brings you joy and happiness, why did you chose the character that’s connected to most characters? I legitimately want to know; all the relevant characters have suffered for at least the tinny amount of a whole arc, if you want a comfort character there’s Awsamdude right there, sure he doesn’t have much plot importance other than building the prison, but he has wholesome content and deserves more fans. So now that you have our new comfort character, I want you to stay for a bit longer so you can still watch Ranboo because he’s a good streamer and character. For now, I’ll list the actions that will most likely give him the Technoblade Route: 1. Ranboo burnt down George’s house with Tommy, 2. Ranboo might have possibly helped blown up the community house (he remembers TNT for some reason) 3. He had a fight with Fundy, and while he is trying to apologize, that never actually works out 4. Technoblade and Philza are his friends now, and he’s going to try and help them, because they’re his friends. Since most of the server is against Technoblade (which is just stupid, I’ll do another thing on that later) he’ll also be viewed as a bad guy with Technoblade.

Did Kai have any sort of family after losing her foster family and becoming the Demon King? Or did she only have her husband?

Yes actually!!! A lot of Kai’s own story involves her own found family collection (i say collection just. cuz she tends to outlive them)

I’ve briefly mentioned she has a few kids and you see them in one of my sketchbook tours

but she also has a group of friends who she was close to

and the opening chapter of one of her ‘stories’ involves her dealing with the loss of a close friend she considered family (she even tried to go through legal means to see him but when humans turned around and said fuck you she snuck in. I can actually post this writing if people wanna read it?)

She also has some of her adoptive family still alive tho the bloodline is thinner. The Hellsing family she was raised in still exists to a point in her story (before the great catastrophe at least) Her whole ‘became the demon king’ thing happened when her uncle attacked her but she was able to get her sister in law and unborn nephew to escape while she distracted the rest (i have a whole ass animatic planned for this to the song “monster” from frozen’s musical. someday. someday I’ll be able to sit down on it weep)

This nephew was the one who hired Ren to help find “the king of fear” as she was known at that point. Alex is a good boy. His son was the one who went to find his great aunt after Ren’s death and she fully became a fallen god and offered her a place to stay and just. try to relax. She ended up falling into a deep sleep for a while and his family was the ones to build the ‘tomb’ she normally rests in when ever she has these extreme ‘low energy’ periods which can last between 5 years to her longest one was 5000. Typically she’ll rest for between 20-50 years at a time. and there’s a legit reason she does this too. But that’s not about family---

Point is that family is still very fond of their matriarchal demoness and she helped them found “Prometheus” a group to help humans deal with monsters and monsters live in peace. (cuz boy howdy do people have trigger fingers) there are other groups in their world with either similar goals or ones to ‘suppress’ monsters (example: The Order is a group who sees monsters as tools and lesser beings. sometimes Prometheus is forced to work with them and normally they send strong demons or dragons and such so that The Order can’t do anything to their operative. it was on one of these collaborations that Kai kidnapped Booberry from them. she regrets nothing.)

Kai often just refers to the current descendant as just “her nephew” as she’s too lazy to shove the amount of “great” in front of it because she’s old. there’s only one case of a niece and that’s where the bloodline ended (again that’s another story all together)

When Kai woke up after the Great Catastrophe alone she ended up meeting a young man named Leo (who if you look in Kai’s tag on my blog you can see him!) Who she bonded with and she likes hanging out with (and there’s other things but I’m not gonna talk about it)

There’s also her ‘generals’ and a few of them are gonna show in TLC soon (just a brief cameo) A group of 4 who’ve met Kai in a few incarnations and they always tend to get along. Original names were Matt, Trisha, Faith, and Maki is Maki (she’s an elf so she lives longer) Current names are Byron, Tiffny, Jacob and Maki. These four actually form Ren’s party when he’s trying to find his wife at the actual start of “Nightmare’s Dream” and you learn they each have a connection to Kai through the story.

Matt/Branden/Byron; he’s featured in the writing I mentioned up top, he’s kinda similar to Leo in the way he interacts with Kai as an almost human morality pet for Kai. He used to be Kai’s student when she was teaching, and his father was the warden at the jail her friend Sammy was in (this is the friend she lost) Matt can see through her disguise when she’s showcasing nightmares. Kai can cause hallucinations on targets using her ‘fear’ hence her title “king of fear” and normally they are only visible to her and her target. But Matt can see them.

He ends up getting in trouble a few times; once with a tribe of demons who want to turn children into imps, once with the literal Anti christ, once with a haunted house. And each time Kai was there and ends up saving him.

Matt later is in an accident and ends up reincarnating as a winged human named Branden and has all his past memories. So when he starts working at Prometheus as one of their ‘informants’ (aka he goes to gather information in both human and supernatural affairs. he’s referred to often as the angel of trust because of his silver tongue) and he meets her again he shouts something from one of his classes with her causing her to snap back on reflex until she realizes (running joke is Kai loathes Julius Ceaser and if you say his name she always whips around shouting “WAS A SLUT AND A HARLOT” in a very aggressive tone. It makes people laugh when she does and she always gets embarrassed afterwards)

The two of them end up working together for a while and become good friends (and maybe a bit more but they never state really) but then when with his new work partner Trisha (nicknamed angel of death, she works in the sector that deals with cleanup) he ends up betraying Prometheus and Trisha rips his wings off and kills him (this is the context between the ‘redraw’ meme I do every few years of a man with a bleeding back drowning)

Trisha is also someone who grew close to Kai (hence she killed Branden because his folly led to Kai nearly going berserk) but she was killed by a sleeper agent from the order. And this is how Kai lost two of her close friends.

Now backing up to Sammy the inmate one; he was with her when Kai met her first child, the young moon goddess Artemis. Arty is a constant for the demoness ever since she picked her up in the woods (her arc also has one of my favorite kai lines: (which i can’t find the direct line but)

Sam shuddered as he looked around the woods, “Do you ever feel like there’s 100 eyes watching you?”

“Yes but it didn’t work out so we broke up.” The demon responded flatly as she looked around with a deep set scowl.

While she was out with Sammy when he was hunting they ended up finding a little girl who turned out to be a new goddess and her elder sister was kidnapped by the embodiment of Greed in his attempt to become a god. Kai ends up stopping this but also kinda ends up becoming Arty’s mom. While she doesn’t raised Arty fully she does do a lot of teaching and such for her and does refer to her as “her daughter” and Arty calls her mom. when the great catastrophe occurs, Arty is one of the few gods who remained when the rest went to new ‘realms’ or simply vanished and is considered one of the main gods of their world because of this.

And then there’s her son Ganon, an Orc Lord she adopted when his village was ruined. he currently poses as her ‘demon king’ while she pretends to be the chancellor (this is the ruse she uses. normally heroes will fight the ‘king’ and lose but if they actually are a threat or have poor reasoning she kills them from behind. this is also how the story starts as someone found a spell to try and incapacitate her buttt)

There’s also morte and her daughter demeter (I’ve shown them before, a set of necromancers) who she’s very friendly with. Demeter even calls her aunty Kaya and loves to sit on her lap and such during meetings. (i have one snippet when Kai was recruiting someone to their side but hadn’t told her yet she was the REAL demon king and Demeter was sitting on her lap laughing) Morte is thankful to Kai for saving her circus (Morte runs a circus that helps those stuck in limbo pass on but at one point demons of sin over took it in a way to gather souls)

There’s also her friend Ciera, the daughter of the girm reaper. she’s Kai’s best friend for the most part of her life, and is the one who helps Ren when the gods of life and death try to prevent him from reincarnating again (which is like other things a whole other story) (she also briefly shows in Bone Stealer at one point. While visiting bunny’s sick grandmother, Bunny and Steve run into Ciera as she’s leaving. Steve stops Bunny from attacking her) She’s over all chill.

There’s also Nicki. Kai’s ‘twin’ brother. He’s the ‘bad guy’ through the arc that contains Leo and sets up ‘the great Split’ that Kai will cause (this is lore/plot stuff) He originally was raised to hate her by their maternal Uncle who’s a arch mage like Ren however he’s fallen due to his hatred of Kai’s birth. Nicki is not really her brother (in the first life) but a failed clone of the demoness. When Kai is reborn Nicki gets to actually be her brother and the two get along really well and he’s very protective of his sister now that he understands what her actual deal is and not the bs his uncle fed him. Before the rebirth too Nicki helped kai solve some stuff and worked with her until his death (unlike her, he was not immortal)

And then Kai actually has two bio children with Ren! Akito her son takes after her and he’s the one who takes over her role as the true demon king of Tir-Na-Nocht so she’s able to die and try life again, and a daughter, Rei who takes after Ren in looks but... she’s a himbo. pure moron. she got her grandpa’s himbo gene strong. She’s a cat girl who works with her brother and she is the head of the guard.

Aki actually has his own story where he grew up in a ‘mundane’ world but then his entire class got ‘isekaid’ to another. it gets shown that this isn’t truly the case. the great ‘split’ mentioned above was Kai literally broke the world in two realms. She made one primarily humans and high tech and then the other was magic and mostly monsters. there are a mix of both but it cut down heavily on the murder. She raised Aki in the human side for his and Rei’s safety due to them being the children of a fallen god (mama worries) and Aki inherited his mother’s odd ‘status’ “Hero/Demon King”  so he has to not expose his demon nature and also stay below the radar (it turns out the person who summoned them was attempting to break a centuries old treaty) until his mother and father can figure out what happened to him (thankfully he can go to a church and his older sister Arty can act as a messenger but there’s a bit of a time split in the worlds) That world is actually the one “Fae Rules” takes place in o7o.

She also is friends with a dead prince named “Shade” (yes this is who you think it is) as well as her ‘cousin’ Sena (who she loves to give shit to)

And in her second life she obvs has her brother, cousins, her father (her father’s boyfriend/her manny), aunt’s etc!!!

So yes; she had family other than her husband!!!! And she cherishes them all.

Like, Stoki’s still my favorite Steve pairing but Stony’s really cool too…you know I ship almost everything XD (also am I the only person who sorta hated almost everyone by the end of CW? Like, of course they’re still my favs and there are still some cinnamon rolls, but, come on. Why couldn’t you all just get along ;-;)

Speaking of Illumi, do you know that Hisoka/Illumi is an incredibly popular ship in the HxH fandom? Probably because both of them are so horrible that they have like 0 friends other than each other. Nobody else wants to hang out with these losers. (Chrollo tolerates Hisoka and the adults in Illumi’s family seem to spend enough time with him to give him orders, but that’s about it.) It’s a trash ship with two trashy people and tbh I love it XD

AGH I’M ACTUALLY SORTA JEALOUS BECAUSE WOW I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA HOW TO WATCH THAT LEGALLY HERE IN KOREA. (unless I ask my dad for help but he doesn’t like manga/anime at all, so…) But yes, I’m really happy Lizzy finally got her moment this time! FINALLY. Fellow Death Note fan <3333 Who’s your fav? Do you have any ships? Are you done with the anime??? :D (also do you know…you picked a really interesting time to join the DN fandom. The American live-action movie just came out and it sucks so freaking bad, like I haven’t even watched it yet and just from the reviews/clips, here’s what I got:

-They turned Misa into this Harley Quinn-type character. Only without any depth.

-Light/Misa is an actual canon ship, like, it’s not abusive or one-sided like it is in the anime/manga, it’s just…a thing. Light loves Misa. Misa loves Light. It’s like every cringey high school romance movie ever, only with more murder

-They freaking bent the Death Note rules just so Light could get away with all sorts of ridiculous stuff

-L cries, L rants, L is overly emotional

-Light tells L where he hid a page from his Death Note. Light doesn’t deny being Kira. Light shows Misa his Death Note when they like barely know each other and she’s still a complete stranger to him. Light acts like an idiot.

-Oh sure, he’s Kira, God of the New World, but he still cares about going to prom with his girlfriend and making stupid faces as they pose for pictures

-So much unnecessary gore. Heart attacks are Kira’s thing, Light isn’t that emotional about his kills, he doesn’t care as long as the 'villains’ are dead, so why???

-Apparently Rem does not exist. Sayu doesn't exist either. Light’s mom is dead (probably so he can angst over her)

-Light Turner. Light TURNER. Out of all the surnames they could have chosen…

-And now, for the most unforgivable sin:

Okay, but one thing I’m wondering about, is How? Not in a malicious way or anything, I’m genuinely curious to why you ship Stoki (and where it began). Was it that redemption fic you told me about or did you ship it before? 

Tbh, I didn’t hate the characters in CW, I hated the situation. Because there’s so so much pointless conflict that could easily be solved if everyone sat down and talked like normal people. But nooo we have to go around attacking each other. ((ALSO CAP’S LETTER TO TONY, I AM DEAD))

I’ve already learned (and experienced) that shipping is a very weird and unusual thing, so I’ll be honest and say I’m not even surprised that ship exists. At least it has some basis XD

I’m actually tempted to go through the lyrics of the whole musical and find every single eye line there is, only to replace it w Illumi’s eyes.

Tbh I’d say I’m responsible enough (HA, that’s more or less a lie), but I’m honestly way too irritated with the little ones to be able to have one of my own. My cousin recently celebrated her 3rd bday and I was stuck looking after her during the party, bc all the adults were talking among themselves and I swear to god, I haven’t moved that much since I had to run 2km for PE. Where do they get their energy. Not to mention the adults thought it would be a good idea to leave me w her, because I’d already drunk 3 glasses of wine (i was bored and not allowed to do anything other than stare at emptiness or look after a 3yo). Turns out my tolerance isn’t that bad after all.

All the death flags. Tbh I don’t know how I feel about it. It’s obvious that either Touka or Juuzou are probably gonna die and I wan’t neither (If I have to choose tho, I’d rather Juuzou survives.) Also Naki. HNNNNNNGH

I think you’d actually like the manga? It takes a pretty dark turn compared to the anime and deals with lots of mental issues (the whole theme of the later volumes is Madness). Also, lots of death XD Well, the artwork changes drastically, so which one are you talking about XD

The girl in the coat (left first pic, middle 2nd) is the same person for reference. Death the Kid was one of my first anime crushes. The guy has OCD and is a total badass. 

MUHAHAHAHA I think someone uploaded the Lizzy fight to youtube so you can probably find it there, but I am in love. The animation is beautiful, so that’s also a huge plus. All in all, it was handled really well.

Death Note

So last I’ve watched is ep 25, aka the one WHERE L DIES. And i am not okay. I am nowhere near okay. Nope. Not at all.

Oh i’ve heard all about the adaptation. Tbh I find the whitewashing hilarious. Setting the movie in America removes so much of the series’s logic, so why? L being the way he is is probably my favourite mistake. They took the best character and ruined him completely.  POTATO CHIP SCENE NOOOO But my question is: did everything go just according to the keikaku?
