this challenge is a free forming challenge meant for me to hopefully enjoy the sims more and have structured legacy that I like without anything that seems to hard. this legacy can be bended however you want and the gens played in whatever order you want (each gen however has a backstory and will not work if you switch them around, so create your own backstory if you switch generations around) there are a lot of pack requirements I didn’t intend to make, but you can skip those or modify them to your will.

Also, feel free to play with siblings and such to make fun family trees, just make sure to have “auto-age current household only” on!

Some Basics before we get into the Generations

Heirs are whoever you choose unless specified 

You can give the next generation however much of the family funds of the current generation as you choose

Piggy-backing off of that, unless specified you can use however many funds you want to build/buy new lots

You can create sims to be your spouse and add them into the world unless specified

Any lifespan length is fine, although regular is recommended

Start each gen at young adult unless specified 

You can have pets in any generation unless otherwise specified

You can have same-sex or hetero couples per each generation (your choice). In same-sex couples, you may adopt or use a mod that will allow try for baby and pregnancy between them

Better Gambit tips to be good at Gambit

Hi since we’re officially at the 2 day mark until Shadowkeep and New Light release for Destiny 2 I’m gonna post 7 in-depth pro-player tips for Gambit. I’m currently the #20 PC Gambit player in the world for Reference. Continues under the cut:

1. Know Your Enemy - This tip focuses on analyzing your enemy before and during the match to understand how they’re going to play and the best ways you can counter them. If you see people on the enemy team specced out for extreme ad clear then you know they’ll be capable of clearing waves very quickly, because you know they’re most likely suited for killing large groups of small enemies you’ll want to hit their arena with Large and Medium Blockers to best disrupt their ability to bank, giving your team time to invade and destroy their mote capacity. If you invade while the enemy is distracted with clearing blockers on their bank, or busy dealing with a wave of enemies you can have a greater impact with your killing than if you invaded 2 seconds before the enemy banked everything. Don’t be afraid to burn your resources while invading, I actually actively advise invading with your super as it’s a fantastic option for clearing teams and if your enemy is skilled enough to defeat you they’ll get some progress towards the ‘Dredgen’ title if they don’t already have it, it’s a win-win scenario. Also ignore the people who tell you not to invade at the start of the primeval phase in Gambit Classic, delaying the enemy team from getting stacks is just as important if not more effective than healing small chunks of damage to their primeval.

3. Mote Balance and Banking - The different Blockers you can send to the enemy team may change on a per season basis but understanding the effects each blocker can have on the enemy team can suit you better in every phase of the Gambit match. Throughout a close match you’ll want to prioritize sending Medium Blockers to the enemy team since they’re best suited for stalling by dodging enemy fire and being a significant nuisance for any player just trying to bank. But if your enemy is already in the primeval phase and your team is trailing you’ll want to prioritize Large and Small blockers since they benefit from a chaotic environment, Large blockers can dish out significant amounts of damage to enemies hiding behind cover or standing in a small area like the Well in a Gambit Prime match. Sending the right Blocker at the right time will have a greater impact and you’ll begin to see results when teams struggle to deal with your well timed blockers.

4. Specialize your Loadout - Easily the biggest thing that makes teams lose matches in Gambit is a poor loadout composition, anyone can succeed with any loadout if they’re good with it but you’ll be a bigger help to your team and contribute more in fights if you’re specced out correctly before a match begins. If playing on a map with long sight ranges and little cover you’ll want to bring a long range weapon like a sniper rifle or linear fusion to help deal with invaders who’ll capitalize on your weaknesses. If you’re trying to fill a specific role in Gambit prime you want to have weapons the emphasizes your strengths, for example if you’re a reaper and unlock the Reaper perk that generates special ammo on rapid enemy kills you might want to consider equipping multiple special weapons so you get the biggest benefit out of that ability.

5. 6. Memorize the Maps - This tip connects back to both #1 and #2 about understanding how your opponents are going to play, a big factor that determines the playstyle of any given player is the terrain they’ll be fighting on. If you have the opportunity, I recommend anyone that can load up each Gambit map in a private match and learn where each of the invader spawn locations are. A lot of this is going to play into your matches via your basic intuition, the invader most likely won’t spawn where your team is at, and the game will try to spawn the invader away from where the current wave of enemies are spawning. You can use these to your advantage when countering said invader by narrowing down their likely areas of approach, likewise you’ll also have a hint to what sightlines they’ll take when they fire on your team. However this can also go beyond just invading, even when dealing with the standard enemies in Gambit knowing the shortest route to reach them or where the High Value Target is going to spawn will grant you an advantage in every match you play.

7. No I in Team - This last tip won’t apply to everyone given the nature of a mostly random matchmaker and a lot of people preferring to play Solo the majority of the time. Work. With. Your. Team! Work with your team people! If you’re not getting any value out of your invasions and your teammate has the proper equipment to invade then let them! 100% the main reason why I have such a high winrate and why I’m one of the best players on PC is my ability to work with my team, to coordinate how a fight is going to play out, and Anarchy; but let’s not talk about that one right now. If you take the effort to work with your teammates either in a preformed fireteam or 4 random people the game threw together like a bowl of soup you’ll learn the best strategies that you can pull off and the strongest effects you can have in a match. And don’t despair if your teammates aren’t willing to work with you or if you can’t reach them or if they’re being a total wild card, just play around them and cover the weaknesses of your teammates so they aren’t being a hindrance. I know it’ll be especially annoying if your teammate is trying to get 15 motes when you only need 2 more to summon a primeval but if you just criticize their actions when you know they won’t change both of you will suffer, as much as you might feel you’re doing all the work 1 person will almost never beat a team of 4 by themselves so you need to work with your team to win.

Since I created a user other than root during installation (let's call the username joe), it's critical to give the account access to doas.

echo 'permit persist keepenv joe' > /etc/doas.conf

The doas command on OpenBSD is actually slated to be the successor to sudo on most platforms, due to it's simplicity and ease of use. Many Linux systems already provide doas as an alternative to sudo due to how well it runs, and this one line just grants the same access you would normally have when using it. However, you can also restrict the access to specific commands depending on the user.

We want to also make the user a member of the staff group, as this group has access to more system resources than plain old users:

usermod -G staff joe

While we're at it, we might as well bump up some of the resource limits even further so our system will run like a dream.

Modify the staff: entry in /etc/login.conf to look like this:

NOTE: If a setting exists already and is already higher than what you plan to replace it with, don't touch it. You'll just slow the system down.

What this does is allow for larger amounts of memory to be used by the user and allows the OS to have larger amounts of shared memory.

Awesome, Now let's get suspend working! First we need to run

mkdir /etc/apm

and then append the following to /etc/apm/suspend:

#!/bin/sh pkill -USR1 xidle

We can now run chmod +x /etc/apm/suspend and it will work properly.

Reboot to apply these changes.

FINALLY Setting Up The Desktop

First things first, we will want to configure GTK because the default keybindings are that of emacs- and ~~it stinks~~ gets the job done, but I don't prefer it. To switch to more normal keybindings, run the command

mkdir -p ~/.config/gtk-3.0

and then append the following to ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini:

Now we need to copy the default i3status to /etc:

cp /usr/local/share/examples/i3status.conf /etc

Failure to do this will cause i3status to crash on launch.

Lastly, let's configure i3 to actually launch. Open /etc/X11/xenodm/Xsession in a text editor and go to the end of the text file. There will be a portion saying exec fvwm. Remove that line entirely and replace it with exec i3. Now search for anything in this file saying xconsole and remove it (this prevents automatic launching of a console in your desktop.)

If running Intel Integrated Graphics, it may be wise to do one final modification to prevent screen tearing. To do this, run the following command:

mkdir /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d

This makes the xorg.conf.d directory. Now append the following contents to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/intel.conf:

This configures OpenBSD to play more nicely with your Intel Integrated Graphics.

Finally, type reboot to reboot your system. You should be able to log in as your normal user and have access to i3 window manager. It will provide a "first startup" wizard to go through. If unfamiliar with i3, it is a tiling window manager that uses keyboard shortcuts to manipulate windows.

Once the configuration has been generated, we will need to configure i3 a bit further to allow for rofi and urxvt to work. To tweak these, we first need to edit our /etc/.Xdefaults file and add the following contents (note- this is the longest part of the entire task of getting a desktop working):

This chunk of configuration sets rofi (our app launcher) into dark mode, and changes the default terminal colors to be a little easier on the eyes with a dark theme instead of a eye-scorching manilla color... Only one change to go!

Wrap-Up

Open ~/.config/i3/config in your editor and go around 45 down. You will notice a section that says "Start a terminal". We want to change it's corresponding command to this:

bindsym $mod+Return exec /usr/local/bin/urxvt

This sets the i3 hotkey combo to execute urxvt instead of xterm.

Awesome! Since i3-gaps is installed, gaps between windows can be set up and configured if preferred. Otherwise, configuration is done, and you're able to install other software that you might want, such as Libreoffice, VLC, PCManFM, and other useful utilities (or games?)

Lastly, to set your desktop background, download a picture and save it to your preferred directory. In my case, it's located at /home/w00t/Pictures/wallpaper.png. Using my download location, I appended the following line to ~/.config/i3/config:

exec --no-startup-id "xwallpaper --stretch /home/w00t/Pictures/wallpaper.png"

Now my desktop wallpaper automatically sets itself on login.

There's other tweaks you can make- but this is meant to be enough to get to a system that's comfortable to work in and have an enjoyable time with OpenBSD. Until Next Time!

How to enter cheats in GTA 5 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Xbox 360 and PS3
