The system's designed like an orchestra, with a central "conductor" directing a symphony of minds to act like a distributed network. The... idea came to us by watching how collective networks like SIVA and the Vex operate. The hope is we can aggregate and parse the vast amounts of psychic data emitting from the Veil. Turn it into something intelligible. If we're successful, the interface will provide us with a starting point for any future technological research tied to the Veil. The risks of — of such integration are high. The estimates mortality rates are... but I... I... I don't know what I'm doing. This is wrong. This is so wrong! But besides the emotional damage, this is once again super interesting. The prototype interface is one of the first things that we encounter as we're going towards the Veil from the final mission of the campaign. The first of the chairs we see is what Nimbus calls a CloudArk prototype:

It's here more generally referring to the room we're in itself; the room we're getting the logs from also features prototype interfaces that were used for initially communicating with and researching the Veil and matches the descryption of being designed like an orchestra. There's 12 of the chair-interfaces in there and they're all facing the Veil and there's a long walkway overlooking the facility that might be where the "conductor" would stand.

Either way, the early researchers found a way to tap into the Veil without getting physically close by plugging themselves into these machines. Having more people plugged in at the same time allowed them to spread the load of the psychic connection and limit casualties.

However, casualties were still happening. It's super interesting that Chioma is still reminding us that the base technology here was inspired by SIVA and the Vex because they're collective networks and they seem to have more success with this sort of thing. So the researchers have to also become a collective network by linking themselves through these machines with the Veil. Eerily similar now to how the Witness' people linked their minds.

This is all the beginnings of the CloudArk, where Neomuni upload themselves and live in a virtual reality. While their bodies are physically in cryo, their minds are in the CloudArk. Again, ominous now with the recent reveals about the Witness. I'm still of the belief that this ability will be important for us to be able to enter the portal. Really interesting re-reading this post now that we DO know about the Witness and that it merged its entire species into one being by using the knowledge of Darkness and the Veil; this now strengthens the possibility that in order to pass through the portal, we need to be psychically merged with... something. The CloudArk might end up being the technology we use to do it and we're being shown how the Neomuni discovered this technology and used it to make the CloudArk by imitating other "collective networks." So far only one "collective network" managed to successfully enter the portal: the Witness.

The rest of this, as I've said already, has broken me. Chioma's pain about Maya's descent into madness is truly heartbreaking and even more so with Osiris recognising his own obsessesion through Maya. Chioma's plea for Maya to stop this is also heartbreaking from our perspective because we know that they didn't stop. The technology was finished and constructed and is still in use today. And as an added beauty to this, it's a gay man finding a connection with a lesbian. I cannot even begin to express how incredible it feels to get this sort of insanely good scifi story where literally everyone involved in the quest is LGBT+.

Flirting - in any way. From teasing, to an open flirt and pick up phrases, yeah, It's that easy

Trying to make the loved one laugh by making jokes and being funny

Giving gifts and trying to make something good for the one the character loves

Jealousy. Nothing to explain

Idealization. Usually people in love are tend to ignore all the flaws of their love. They see only good things, even if there is not much of them

Looks. The character will always want to see the person they love. The sign is very important

Touches. That's it. Touches is ours all

Trying to know the loved one better. At least by asking questions, but basically in any possible way

Showing them that the character is ready to sacrafice smth for them. Basically anything, from time, to money, friends and etc

Imagines different situations of interactions with the loved one

Trying to show off. To show how cool, smart, pretty, strong and etc they are to impress the loved one. It would even be better if the character tries to use their "cool skill" to help the loved one

Being interested in the hobbies and interests of the one the character loves

Show that the character feels comfortable, safety and good around the one they love. It would even be better if you explain what exactly makes the character feels good around it

A bit of contradictory with the previous one, but you can also show that she character is nervous and anxious around the one they love. But I personally hate this thing and wouldn't recommend anyone to show a "true love" by this one. However, if the love isn't that deep, it can work, but I still hate this thing. A soft blush is much better

And yeah, sometimes blushing is also a good option. But when It's the only thing that shows love, nah. Also sometimes It's not good to use it too much bc usually It's just embarassing and looks cringe tbh. It just should be appropriate and in moderation. That's all Ig!

One of my favorite things about gaming just as a medium is how casual fans play games.  While I feel bad whenever I replay a game more than once in a year because I have a pile of other ones I really should replay or try for the first time, Janice is over there on her sixtieth playthrough of Banjo Kazooie and having a blast.

I thought Fable II was a bit of a step down from I, but I LOATHED Fable 3.  But my Mom really liked it, and one day she was at the end of the game.  I found that period of the game frustrating, because it assumes you’ve been amassing this vast fortune without truly cluing you into NEEDING that, but I looked at my Mom’s huge money room and asked how she did that.

when have i said cordelia didn’t love alastair? she obviously does, but she has acted selfishly more than once when it comes to her relationship with her brother and that’s simply how *i* interpret it. she didn’t have to accept praises for “still loving him even after all the things he did” or complimenting matthew after he used her as a way to manipulate alastair into seeing charles, and she certainly could’ve taken in consideration alastair and her own mom’s safety before throwing cortana into his lap and fleeing to paris, etc. you can see that cordelia has no problem in actively (or even aggressively) defending alastair against charles but her behavior is a lot more subtle when it’s one of her friends being harmful to him - i’m not asking her to defend him from things from things he did in the past, i just expect her to defend him from accusations and slander in the present.

that they do love each other it’s clear to me, but i do believed that because it’s also clear to her, cordelia ends up standing up more for matthew and james than she does for her own brother - family love is easy to be taken for granted

This week has been...ASTOUNDING!

First of all we had exo's cb which i was surprised to see because ok i was hoping for it but not that damn early 😭😭😭BUT my ears have been blessed. What am i saying? Does exo ever disappoint? THE SET DESIGNS?? THE JEWELLERY?? omggg and the actresses?? Dude i have never seen an indian actress who isn't close to being a literal goddess, I think i do know about the first love interest. if i reiterate shit that sewer did it's because all we do is yap about puppy sniper ANYWAYS lawry (she/he) is a dog for Many reasons. a cocktail of environmental, social, and genetic factors! social and physical isolation, ostracization from peers, self-hatred, chronic depression, autism-- all these things have lawry growing up feeling more animal that human. as sewer said, it's not so much a 24/7 bdsm lifestyle sort of deal, or a purely sexual pursuit, but a belief, a deep kinship. she collars herself, not knowing what it means, but knowing that having the leather at his throat makes him feel safe and secure, feelings that are hard to come by in her line of work. he feels like a bad person, and a bad dog, but even the worst of dogs sometimes get a chance at happiness, and i think she really craves that. fantasizes about someone seeing her with all her doggish flaws (too big, too aggressive, nervous, smelly, scruffy) and still seeing a loving pet somewhere in there that's worth it all. if only someone had the time and devotion to nurture him into one~!! it alllllll comes down to being wanted, after spending so much of her life feeling worthless, good for only one thing, violence, and that's it. (if lawry could watch youtube videos of stray dogs being rescued, she would sit there so stoic and silent with tears STREAMING down his face. and then go outside to smoke a joint. jerk off. and then cry some more.) i'll yap about the petplay part of her identity with niko (sewer's spy oc) since this is his post :3c lawry is veeerrryyyy into humiliation and degradation which is arguably any spy's bread and butter, but niko has a mean streak a mile wide that lawry yearns for like the sick mutt she is. niko likens lawry to an animal once on the battlefield, as a scathing insult, and then suddenly he's in charge of this desperately eager to please dog. neither of them really understand what they want, but charge right into it anyways, and with a bit of time niko understands they don't just have an intense D/s dynamic, but that lawry really, earnestly, wants to be his dog. to niko, the desire seems so demeaning and humiliating for lawry, of course he'd want to play along. (which backfires when lawry realizes niko will scratch her itch, and they suddenly can't pry themselves off each other.) it's not er... healthy, but niko's cruel treatment is a comfort so familiar to lawry, it's like someone is finally seeing her as she is, not as this poor, awkward approximation of a person that lawry thinks everyone sees him as, but as a stupid animal. and niko "cares" enough to turn him from a bad dog to a good dog. or, if not a good dog, at least a better one than lawry was before. one that's tamer, has good manners, doesn't bite, knows a couple tricks... in a weird way it makes lawry trust niko! and that trust is what gets them through their long, convoluted, toxic situationship into a quite happy owner and pet <3 lawry gets his wish of being not just a working dog for niko, but a pet, too. one that's spoiled with affection (after plenty of jumping through hoops, lest lawry feel she doesn't 'deserve' niko's moments of kindness.) niko devotes time and energy into lawry to a degree that borders on obsessesion, keeping him busy, fed, worked, groomed... it's really all lawry has ever wanted!

Let's talk about puppy sniper.

So let's start with our good old usual "stock" red sniper, ie the one i'm always drawing if i don't explicitly state otherwise.

So the puppy thing is both a kink and also kind of a "belief" i would say ? Not a lifestyle because it's not like Sniper is trotting around collared and referring to spy as a master or owner, but it's a position that comforts him, beyond getting him aroused. Being in the privacy of the van or a lost spot in the desert and observing the world through the eyes of a dog feels much easier than acting human, normal, somewhat acceptable to society. It helps his thoughts float better and it gives him hindsight on things.

I think he would have a fixation on leather objects and craft (hence my initial headcanon that he does cobbling) because the texture is a familiar one linked to positive emotions / experiences (both hunting/bushcrafting and the petplay). Of course he'd have a collar, and if he did i think it'd either be : 1.made by himself 2.offered by spy and thus, very high quality leather 3.bought by sniper from a reputable craftman, an authentic market or something along those lines. In any of those cases, a very unique (and thus irreplaceable) old, thoroughly worn collar. The leather fixation + puppy kink + cobbling hobby is an excellent combo for him to obsess over spy's shoes and lead to all sorts of fun shoe play 😊.

Okay now, how does it all work with (red) spy ?

I think of red spy as a prideful egotistical person (among many, many other things), so there's a thorough satisfaction in having an intimidating mercenary a whole head taller than him leashed and at his feet. I also imagine spy being much more at ease with his seductivity and queerness, his job and skills being a huge help in indulging your sexuality in the 1960's without being found out or prosecuted. Sniper, on his end, has grown up mostly in isolation until being thrusted in a violent hypermasculine environment. His already shaky social skills aren't helping him handle feeling attraction towards men. There's lotsa layers here but basically, he starts feeling attracted by the assertive, authoritative yet calm spy. Something about someone that can lead others, resolve situations through talking. Sniper is both envious of the ability and fascinated by it and spy picks up on it very quickly so of course he takes great joy in toying with it and trying to push sniper's fascination further, until of course it backfires by becoming mutual.

The relationship is super imbalanced for a long, long while; sniper is just in stupid gawking admiration at spy, while spy is only entertained by sniper's actions and seeking sexual gratification from it. Neither of them have any knowledge of "pet play" or "puppy kink" per se, but it's natural for sniper to place himself in that position where he views spy as an owner that has the obvious right to dictate him what to do, since he knows better, right ? It does take a while for Spy to figure out that oh, this is actually dog themed like, for real, which he again finds a lot of fun in pointing out to sniper to embarass him. But he does indulge in it and, begrudgingly, finds it pretty hot to have this desperate guy humping on him and whining, far from the theatrical sensual sex he's used to performing (in both senses of the word).

Sniper on his end is thrilled to have his "weird" behaviours found to be acceptable and even appealling to someone and feels (almost unwarranted) gratitude towards spy. There's a real eagerness to please and be found useful ! Praise words are his immediate weakness and, on the opposite, disappointment from spy terrifies him. He's real careful about touching and respecting boundaries, follows commands almost infaillibly to the point of embarassing himself in public if asked to (with some hard limits).
