I'm a victim of CSA, Grooming and a plethora of false allegations. To have people freak out about the drawing of a chibi character (I don't really understand the difference between the two. Because Cub is child like and chibi is just miniature. People mistake the two a lot.)

I'm pretty sure they wiped Epic and his papyrus out of the comic just so they wouldn't have to deal with them anymore.

I don’t know if they are or not, because shipping Frans (or used to) and using f slurs while they actively seem to really really hate any gay ships but is very okay with lesbian ships seems a little strange. Potentially fetishizing perhaps, although maybe they’re just annoyed if they were constantly bombarded with sans x sans questions and stuff.

The asker and yugo didn’t say they shipped Epic x XGaster or were okay with that, they say were okay with Epic Gaster x XGaster. No alternative sons being shipped with alternative fathers, although DILFs (im using this word just because they are both fathers not because i personally want to fuck them 💀) who are the same person are being shipped and yugo at least doesn’t mind or doesn’t care.

I don’t know what their issue is with their own characters and people liking them, but I think yugo probably needs to set some boundaries with fans if they haven’t already.

getting annoyed when people bring up or ask about the characters you made seems pretty strange to me, it’s just a sign that people really like your character enough to be obsessed with them, but i can understand if they got annoyed if epic was all anyone focused on and not any of the other characters. but in that case, they should probably just delete anything they get about epic (from fans) they don’t want to see or answer.

but to allow your emotions and fans like of your character to cause you to change a story, or erase or get rid of the character, just to spite the fans/character or just so you don’t have to deal with them seems very odd to me. perhaps yugo needs to take a step back from the Epictale “fanbase” and stop engaging with it.

they can’t control what fans do with their work and characters as soon as it leaves their own eyesight, and they’d be better off not stressing over it. and fans should respect them, and stop bringing fandom stuff to them like ships or asking their opinions on ships—no one needs a creator’s opinion on a ship.

epic is a different thing, since he’s literally a character in the story, and a sans at that—which of course means people will bring him up and ask about him. if they don’t want to answer anything about epic, they should make that very clear and then don’t answer. Not answer just to give annoyed, passive aggressive replies. I think it’s sad when creators allow a fanbase to taint and affect their feelings about their work.

I highly discourage looking for other pieces by her. Rouge is a highly hated creator in the Undertale fandom, and for good reason. I'm in a fandom that both skews very young and very anti. I'm talking being offended over a three year age gap and doxxing and harassing people over it.

By chance, I happened to stumble across one of the limited places in the fandom that's chill with NSFW granted the characters are explicitly aged up and they claim to hate everything proship. And it just reinforced to me that everyone applies some proship tolerance to their favorite things but are otherwise antis.

First off, a lot of NSFW art gets shared where the characters are very clearly still teenagers. No one minds until it's art of a character or ship they don't like, then it's suddenly "hey that's a minor, tone it down". Luckily, mods don't really care, and I get the feeling they implemented the aged up rule just to appease the more annoying people and have something to point at if there's criticism to their server.

Then, there's a ship that's by all means a shota ship. The underage character is the violent one as they're some type of demon that tends to be in control of situations, but they're still very much prepubescent and the community is very NSFW. The server had a very strong stance on their biggest ship and even went to beef with the shippers. The result? "Wellll they're kinda freaks but strangely enough they're against pedos in their messages and they're just doing their own thing? Why are they chill? Where's the evil people?"

I must admit that seeing an anti admit that people are not inherently awful just for shipping what they like was something I thought I'd never see. They're still an anti spying on places they don't enjoy and threatening to report them to get censored, but progress is progress, right?

Then there are all the closet cases. I can pinpoint exactly who is a proshipper who keeps quiet about it, who has problematic ships they secretly enjoy, and who's being a hypocrite. Someone using a post that was half "ew they're proship" and half "they're a legit bully here's evidence" but who definitely has problematic ships they enjoy and have created content for, but because it served them at the time, they reblogged the callout post and took a stance. Most recently someone who wrote dead dove smut between two teenagers complained about other people writing smut between two teenagers just because they didn't like the ship. My brother in Christ, YOU are writing the awful underage smut that you claim to hate! It's clearly an effort to do away with the things they dislike.

I might just create my own proship space but I don't think I'll find members. I'll still try, even if it's just me and three other people who like the same stuff.

I'm old and tired, and kids these days would probably label me a "proshipper" as I believe there is way more nuance to this entire thing than simply the black and white mindset that the internet & fandom communities have shifted to over time. I do not condone any taboo or problematic content IRL. But it is not my place, or my right to tell others what they can and cannot do in fiction/fantasy.

I do not condone harassment over fictional characters, ships, etc, and if you're one of the people who think that this is ok, or that someone should die because they think differently than you, block me. It's unrealistic to believe that anything created that holds taboo or problematic content means the one who created it condones it IRL. This falls along the same kind of mindset mostly conservative parents spat that "violent video games make people violent", which we all know is not true. Censoring problematic content will not stop people from creating it. They will just create it where you cannot see it, which in turn could make it harder to find, and harder to stop when actual harm is dealt. Can fictional/fantasy content affect reality? Sure! I will never say otherwise. But to believe that it always does is, again, unrealistic, and assuming that most people cannot differentiate between the two. Fiction and fantasy were created for people to be able to entertain ourselves, and to explore topics that we never would, or were impossible, in the real world in the safety of our minds and spaces we created. The actions of those who use fictional content as a reason to do taboo and problematic things in real life is entirely on them, and they need to seek professional help for their paraphilias, or harmful actions. If something... - happens between two(or more) consenting ADULTS - makes someone happy - does not harm themselves or anyone/anything IRL ...then what other people do is none of my business.

Okay so I think I'm gonna make an FAQ page on here so that people who are curious can find answers to these questions. I have answered this before but I wanna update that response a bit. Now this explanation will have some mentions of my own personal real life trauma so if you can not stomach that please don't harm your own mentality by reading it. I will put a short expo in the replies.

Trigger Warnings for: real life trauma/abuse of a minor

Okay, so first off I wanna address the "what leads a person to do what you do" part. Namely, the "do what you do".

Now, I write fictional content about fictional characters. Yes that content revolves mostly around taboo subjects such as extreme age gaps, incest, and other such topics, and yes, it typically is for my own entertainment. However, I think we need to address exactly what I'm doing.

I'm playing pretend.

As every proshippers has said in response to these questions: I'm simply playing make believe in my head about fake people. That's all characters, books, movie and any and all fictional stories are. Pretend. Luke Skywalker is not real, Bluey is not real, not even the kids on Stranger Things are real. It's all pretend.

My pretend just happens to be different

Now, the why

My reason is not much different from other people's reasonings- a lot of my interest comes from trauma I experienced growing up. I'm not gonna go into full detail- I don't care to share but really unless asked I'm not gonna devulge all my woes to strangers online.

Due to my trauma I've always had a hard time accepting it- I was young when it was occuring and because of this I struggled with accepting it. I put myself into a pit of a lot of bad emotions and became a very upsetting individual.

I threw myself into reading and writing and when I discovered fandoms I read there too, and when I discovered Dead Dove? I was shocked.

I was an anti for so long, I hated that people were using something I went through to tell a story and for so long I was actively against those types of stories.

Then, I talked to a therapist.

When I described that feeling, she asked why I was offended, and when I told her, she asked why I assumed these people were writing about my trauma.

"Well, I went through that, and they're just using it for their own entertainment!"

"Okay, but you're not the only person who has ever experienced this event. It's not about you, it's about them"

And suddenly that was the day I realized that- just because I went though something bad, didn't mean I was the only person who ever had. I can't judge those who use their own coping techniques that- let's be honest, don't hurt anybody. Sure, I may not like certain content, but that's my responsibility to ignore, not someone else's responsibility to cater.

I always try to put tags so people can avoid my content if they don't like it. I use ship tags, I put on every post that I'm a proshippers and I try to make it so that Antis and people who don't like my content never have to interact with it. That doesn't prevent people from searching for it and coming after me, which you know, actually does harm people.

But I'd like to add- just because my content began with trauma, doesn't mean you need trauma to enjoy this sort of content.

Proshippers have said it a million times: "Lots of shippers have trauma and use dark content to cope!" But we ignore that, just because you enjoy dark content doesn't mean you're morally aligned with it. I love horror films, love slasher movies and revenge tales. You don't see me killing people, and you don't see me performing these acts irl. Why? Because it's all a fantasy game

I write about topics that I've both lived through and only ever thought about without experience. And despite what people think- I don't get off to it. The incest and noncon aspects to content are not what intrigue me, it's the emotional pulls. The angst, the heartbreak and dynamic plays.

I personally never understood why being proship is such a big deal breaker for people— I don't think it's out of the ordinary to think that people should be... allowed to enjoy what they want? But that's how it is sometimes.

My only real advice— and it's not professional advice or anything— to you is that, while it does hurt for people you care about to cut you out of their lives, it's best to keep your head high and seek out people/communities that'll accept you! Ultimately, trying to cling to people who (I'm assuming) aren't going to change their minds is just sunk cost. The tagging system works wonders for finding stuff on this hellsite.

If you want to interact with proshippers more the tags "proshipper", "proshippers pls interact" and "proship positivity" are usually very nice and lots of wonderful people post there!

And you could always make a side account for proship stuff if you want to be able to take a break from the intense pro vs anti stuff if and when it gets too much, whilst still having a place to enjoy that stuff.

Honestly I think a lot of the issue is people seem to take the word "ship" as their ideal relationship. Less so than a dynamic they enjoy in fiction. But I don't know, I can't pretend to understand the mind of antis.

Proshippers and multishippers getting clumped together is probably linked to the idea that a ship is a pairing you want to see canon and shows actually pandering to ship wars lately. Or maybe people are just weird!

Everyone takes shipping way too seriously now and acts like a fictional pairings existence will romanticise the topic and brainwash kids. My general rule is that its for fun, who cares ?
