Okay, I’m so gonna get hate for this. And it will probably get about 4 notes. This is, by far, the most opinionated thing I have ever posted on here. If you can’t tolerate criticism towards Rick Riordan, the books, or the TV show, please keep scrolling. My goal is NOT to change your mind or start arguments.
I also want to preface this by saying that I love and respect Rick Riordan (even if I disagree with him on things and don’t like some of his choices) and fully acknowledge that he has the right to do whatever the hell he pleases with his own series. I also want to say that I love Annabeth Chase (both the book and tv show version) with my entire being and you will never find me being an Annabeth hater. She’s my girl.
We good? Okay cool. So here’s the thing: I’ve seen a lot of people on here saying things like “If you didn’t like the books, you just don’t know how to have fun,” and “The new book haters are just mad that they aren’t the target audience anymore,” and (my personal favorite) “Nothing in the books has changed, only the readers have.”
And while I see your points, and I respect you, allow me to show you something. Because of the 10 picture limit, I am only going to focus on one specific change: Annabeth’s view of Percy.
WOTTG: Annabeth is surprised to be comforted by Percy
Past Books: Percy is constantly comforting Annabeth
WOTTG: Annabeth is shocked when Percy is smart
Past Books: Annabeth often points out that Percy is intelligent
WOTTG: Annabeth thinks Percy can’t do anything on his own, and Rick communicates that Annabeth is always saving his ass
Past Books: Percy is ALWAYS watching her back, and saving her ass just as much (and Annabeth admits that)
I could put a hundred quotes in here. I could go on and on and on. But I can’t, and I won’t.
My problem with this new book is NOT that it is more goofy than serious. My problem is NOT that little things have changed. My problem is NOT that it’s just for fun. My problem is NOT that it’s much more childish. (And by the way, I’ve read PJO and HOO as an adult, so it’s not like I was a child when I read everything else and am now an adult reading the new ones.) I really did like and enjoy many parts of this book.
My problem is that the characters (especially Annabeth) have flat out changed—in bad ways—and we have no choice but to accept it as canon. My problem is that Rick, while trying to merge his books with his new TV show project, is changing the entire personalities and past behaviors/ tendencies of the characters.
I loved Chalice of the Gods. You know why? It was fun, goofy, and showed the characters that we know and love being happy and adorable. I strongly dislike Wrath of the Triple Godess because the characters—no matter how adorable and happy they might be—are no longer the ones we know and love.
My problem is that Rick Riordan fully admitted that he no longer considers the old book characters when he writes the new books. He is now purposefully incorporating his own personal mixture of the book characters and tv characters and writing those versions instead. Because of his desire to change and transform the series, I doubt he’s even read the original PJO or HOO books in years, which is why everything is so inconsistent. The old book characters—the ones who made the series what it was—are gone. And that is not my opinion. Rick fully admits that he doesn’t imagine them when he writes anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the tv show actors. I adore Walker and Leah and Aryan with my whole heart, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything. But the fact is: they will never be exactly like the book characters. It’s impossible for actors to become the words on a page. They’re their own unique version! And likewise, you cannot turn actors into print. It doesn’t work! And why would you try? The books versions were perfect as they were. And the disney kids need to make the characters their own. The two versions can exist side by side, equally as wonderful, and still be gloriously different. We should celebrate the uniqueness of both. But instead, Rick is attempting to merge them into one. And in my opinion, it’s just hurting them both. And I’m gonna get real brave by saying this, but do you want my honest prediction? If he keeps doing what he’s doing now, the TV show is going to get cancelled and the books are going to turn into a joke. I so, so badly hope that this doesn’t happen! I have loved Rick and PJO for many, many years. I badly want both to thrive. But what is going on right now… it is not working, no matter how much we all want it to. And speaking as someone who knows people in the TV/Film industry, I am sadly not the only one who thinks the show is gonna flop. Which is devastating, because Rick Riordan deserves a redemption on the big screen, and the incredible actors deserve to bring this series to life in a new way.
I am not trying to force my opinions onto anybody. You are welcome to disagree with me and move on. I am not saying that I’m right and you’re wrong. If you disagree, that’s okay. If you agree but you don’t have a problem with it, that’s okay. In fact if other people have literally no issues, that makes me somewhat happy. And if you loved the book, I’m honestly so stoked for you. Feel free to just keep on scrolling, my friend.
But me? I’m sad. I’m really, really freaking sad. And I’m a little angry too, even if I don’t have a right to be. I can’t help it because I’m only human. But this is how I—and a lot of other people—feel. And you know what? That’s okay too. Because the fact of the matter is:
Annabeth isn’t the same Annabeth anymore. And Percy isn’t the same Percy anymore. And it’s not because they went through trauma, or because time has passed. It’s because Rick Riordan doesn’t have any interest in writing those versions of them anymore. And I think the comparisons between the old and the new show that fact pretty clearly.
#okay i’m deleting tumblr now#i’m too scared for the hate so i will be absent lol#I PROMISE IM NOT TRYING TO DESTROY RICK I LOVE HIM#but i think he needs to be more loyal to the old fanbase that has been so loyal to him#or not that’s fine too#i could give you guys more book quotes#i could make a whole other post on how percy has changed#but i’m not sure anyone wants that#so for now i will try and shut up#wottg#wrath of the triple goddess#and run very very quickly#pjo#heroes of olympus#percy jackson#annabeth chase#percabeth#percy jackson and the olympians#rick riordan#riordanverse

First TIme. Eddie Munson x plus size!Fem Reader. *SMUT*
Summary: Eddie plans a romantic weekend away with his girlfriend.
Word Count: 5.6k
TW: Reader has body image issues throughout. Shy reader. Asshole former boyfriend. Making out (under clothes). Dry humping (thigh riding). Eddie practically worshiping reader. Oral sex (fem receiving). Reader talking about her insecurities. Eddie praising a lot. Unprotected sex. Creampie. Lovers being in love.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All Eddie wanted to do was make sure that the first time with his girlfriend was perfect.
Even though she had told him she had already had her first time with Thomas Carey when they dated back in freshman year, Eddie wanted to have a “do over” since Thomas was apparently a “two pump chump”.
Not to mention afterwards, Thomas spread it like wildfire that they had sex which meant everyone looked down on her, yet praised Thomas. When she broke up with him for telling the whole school about their night, he then humiliated her at the school pep rally by making a joke about her body.
Eddie talked Rick into letting him use his place in order to have a nice secluded weekend with her, bribing him with anything and everything he could think of. Rick finally agreed after weeks of Eddie begging and pestering and just made him promise not to break anything and not leave behind any bodily fluids for him to come home to.
It was comical that this girl had him, Eddie Munson, making a bed, something he has never done a day in his life. Even though in all reality the bed wasn’t going to look like this again after they got into it, he still wanted the room to look nice.
Candles were scattered through the room, the slightest bit of lavender wafting throughout. He contemplated being extra cheesy and sprinkling rose petals through the house but that would mean having to sweep them all up at the end of their weekend.
Finally he heard the squeak of her breaks, that he’s told her over and over again to take care of. He goes outside, meeting her at the back of her car, his hand flat on the trunk of her dusty green car.
“Hey, sweetheart.” Eddie greets her, a wide smile on his face as she turns around to walk toward him. Once she’s close enough he pulls her in for a tight hug, kissing her cheek.
She sighs happily once she’s in his arms, her nose getting hit with his aroma of weed, cigarettes, and whatever cologne Wayne has in the medicine cabinet back at the trailer.
“You are just the most beautiful thing I’ve ever laid eyes on.” Eddie gushes, stepping back to look at her. “Do a little spin for me.”
She laughs, fidgeting with the bottom of her shirt. “Stop.” His attention making her stomach fill with butterflies.
“Let’s get inside. Open up the trunk so I can help with your bag.”
She unlocks it for him, letting him grab the 2 overnight bags she had back there. She follows Eddie inside, looking around the semi familiar house, having been there a few times with Eddie to get his supply.
“You wanna follow me? I’ll give you the grand tour.” Eddie walks in front of her, both of her bags slung over his shoulder.
She nervously nods her head, following close behind him.
She knew exactly what this weekend was about, even if Eddie didn’t explicitly say it.
The few months they’ve been together, they were always so close to going all the way but she always stopped him before he got her clothes off. Eddie had no problem shedding all of his clothes off in front of her, but when it was her turn to be touched everything was under her clothes.
To say she was insecure about her body was an understatement. After that asshole Thomas Carey humiliated her when he told the whole basketball team about how he felt like he was fucking a couch cushion because of how massive her ass was.
She hated her body more than ever after that, the constant jokes the mean girls at school would say to her face were somehow worse than the ones they said behind her back. All she wore year round were giant sweaters that covered her stomach and her arms, giving her no shape, other than a box.
Then she met Eddie and he had slowly made her comfortable with her body. He knew she was still self conscious, especially when they were making out and his hands traveled up her shirt. She would pull away from the kiss and scrunch her face, telling him that she didn’t want to go any further.
Of course Eddie would stop right away and just hold her close, which she was thankful for. There had been a handful of times where she was comfortable enough with Eddie rubbing her through her panties underneath her pants.
They made their way to the bedroom, dimly illuminated by the candles that were on the dresser and the nightstand. She couldn’t help but smile at him once he put her bags down and smirked back at her.
“You did this all for me?” She asks, touching the leather covering his arms from his jacket lovingly.
“Yeah of course. I wanted to show you how much you mean to me.” Eddie says in a soft voice back to her, touching her cheek with the back of his hand. “I want to have a nice weekend with you. Just the two of us.”
She wraps her arms around his neck, bringing him in for a deep kiss.
His hands immediately find her hips, closing the gap between the two of them.
She moans into his mouth softly once she feels one of his hands travel down the round of her ass, cupping the round mound in his hand roughly. Out of habit she pulls back from their kiss, looking down away from his gaze.
“Hey,” Eddie starts, placing his pointer finger below her chin, making her look up at him. “Remember what we talked about? It’s okay if you don’t want to do this, but you know that I’m not going to make you feel bad about yourself, right?”
She nods her head at first. “I know you aren’t. I’m just nervous is all.”
“I don’t want to make you nervous, baby. That’s not my intention at all.” His voice was deep and suave as he spoke to her, sitting on the edge of the bed.
She stands between his legs, playing with the end of his hair. “I want to do it.” She quietly says. “You don’t know how much I think about sex with you, Eddie. The way you touch me is always so loving and soft.”
Eddie’s hand travels down her back to the back of her thigh, tapping her thigh for her to sit down on his lap.
She shakes her head nervously, gnawing at her bottom lip. “I don’t wanna hurt you.”
“You aren’t, baby. I promise. I’m a tough dude.” He smirks.
She straddles his lap, still not wanting to put her full weight on his thighs.
Eddie could see it in her face she wasn’t in a comfortable position on his thigh, her whole body was stiff as a board and her hands were shaky. “Can I help you out a little bit?” Eddie asks, stroking both of her thighs with his hands.
She nods her head in agreement, resting her hands on both sides of his shoulders.
Eddie grabs her ass and slides her forward, earning a gasp from her. “You trust me?”
“Mmhm.”
“How about we take this slow? We do things how we usually do and then let’s see where it goes from there? If you want to take your clothes off, you can and if not that’s okay too. Whatever you want to do, baby, okay?” The tone in Eddie’s voice put her mind at ease, agreeing to Eddie’s plan.
Eddie pushes her hair out of the way before he kisses her soft neck delicately, treating her like a fragile flower.
She exhales shakily as he finds the sweet spot near the center of her throat as she feels him suck the skin. “Eddie.” She sighs, rolling her head back.
He moans in response against her skin, licking the bruise that was no doubt going to show up later. “Feel good?” Eddie asks, his breath making her shiver in his arms. “You know what’ll feel even better? How ‘bout you take a little ride on my thigh?”
She felt like a prude feeling how hot her face got at the thought of her getting herself off on his thigh.
Eddie could sense her nervousness and simply squeezed her hand in comfort. “You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to, princess.”
The name alone made her whimper and start to tingle, making it near impossible to contain herself.
“I want to.” She mutters against his lips, moving her hips slowly. “I really want to.”
Eddie slides his fingers into her hair, kissing her while he wraps his arm around her waist, helping her move. He could feel the heat from her body against his, growling into her mouth once he felt the heat her pussy was radiating.
Hearing the low growl only made her grow more wet, and she only craved more of him while she rocked her hips back and forth his lap.
She pulls away from the kiss, panting and whining in frustration that she wanted something more.
“Talk to me, beautiful.” Eddie’s lips looked even more inviting once she saw how red and wet they were from making out.
“I… I want you to touch me.” She says in a low voice, almost feeling embarrassed.
“I can do that, princess. Do you want to take your jeans off, or you want me to unbutton them and reach in there?”
“I wanna take them off.” She says confidently.
Eddie nods his head, taking his arm from around her and watching as she gets off his lap and stands in front of him, unbuttoning the front of her jeans and pulling them down her thighs slowly until the blue jeans were down around her ankles.
Eddie couldn’t help but look at the cute baby blue silk panties that covered her lower half, a small bow in the very front. “Shit, princess.” Eddie exhales, leaning forward to put his elbows on his knees as he gawks at his girlfriend. “You are a fucking goddess walking amoung this earth.” His hand reaches out for her soft thighs, cupping the back of one before bringing her back toward his open thighs.
Her hands were trembling the longer she felt his eyes on her exposed thighs. She couldn’t help but wonder if he saw the cellulite on the outside of her thighs like she did everytime she looked at her legs, or if he was disgusted with the fact her calves looked huge.
“Can I?” Eddie asks, looking up at her with those chocolate eyes full of lust and want. His hand runs up and down the back of her thigh, caressing the limb delicately while he moves his face closer to one of her thighs.
“Y-yeah.”
Eddie guides her leg up toward him, letting her foot rest on the bed beside him. He twists his body and kisses her knee and works his lips up toward the middle of her inner thigh. “You are fucking gorgeous, baby. You don’t even understand the half of it.” He holds the meatiest part of her thigh, near her ass, and kneads the fat in his hand. “Please don’t be nervous, baby.” He could see it written in her face once he looked up at her.
“I’m sorry.” She shakes her head, letting the breath she had been holding in, out. “I’m trying not to.”
“I know you are, baby. You think I can touch what's underneath those cute little silky panties? You can keep them on if it makes you feel a little better.”
“Can I pull them to the side?”
Eddie was most definitely going to blow his load in his pants.
“Of course baby. You wanna lay down for me while I put myself right in between them?” He asks, referring to her thighs.
A small smile spreads across her face as she nods her head, sliding her foot off the bed and laying her head on the pillows at the top of the bed. She let her thighs fall open, trying her best to fight the urge to cover herself up with her hands.
“Is it okay for me to take my clothes off?” Eddie asks, taking his jacket off and tossing it across the room.
“Yeah, handsome. I love seeing you.” She responds, sitting up on her elbows while she watches him lift his shirt up over his head and discard it on the floor next to him.
Her eyes immediately fixate on his happy trail on his lower stomach, practically drooling already thinking about the countless other times she’s licked up and down his stomach when things got hot and heavy between them.
Eddie undoes the handcuff belt and drops that to the floor as well before unbuttoning his pants, slipping them off but leaving his boxers on. He crawls up the bed, putting his head between her thighs. Immediately he kisses both of her inner thighs, wrapping his arm around both limbs. “You know how perfect you are? I’m being so serious, baby. If I had to draw my dream girl… she’d look exactly like you.”
Her heart definitely skipped a beat at his words. “Is that right?” She replies, running her fingers through his unruly hair. “She’d look exactly like me? Rolls, cellulite, stretch marks and all?”
Eddie kisses one of her thighs one more time before looking up at her. “Baby, I love each and every roll, stretch mark, and I don't really know what the hell cellulite is, but shit yeah I love it.”
She can’t help but laugh at his cluelessness, finding it cute and endearing. “Can you touch me?”
“How and where?” He raises his eyebrows.
She pulls her panties to the side, exposing her pussy to him. She swallowed the nervousness
“Oh, fuck.” Eddie whispers, louder than he intended it to be. “Baby, you’ve been holding out on me. You are so fucking beautiful, better than I imagined in my head.”
“You’ve thought about me naked?” She giggles.
“Sweetheart, I’ve had countless wet dreams where you’re naked, and finally being face to face with this delicious feast I’m about to eat.” Eddie exhales, kissing the squishy part of her lower stomach, right above her pubic bone.
A gasp gets caught in her throat feeling his lips in a different place than she was used to, her body tensing slightly. “Shit, sorry.” She clears her throat awkwardly.
“Don’t be sorry.” Eddie says, kissing her skin again. “Try your best to relax and enjoy yourself, okay?” He strokes his thumb across her soft skin. “I’m going to take care of you.”
She moves her hands down to the side, fidgeting with the sheets under her.
Eddie drops his head down, kissing the puffy lips covering her clit. He could taste the slightest bit of her wetness on his lips. His tongue swipes across his bottom lip, smiling up at his girlfriend. He flattens his tongue, licking a long, fat stripe up her slit then back down again. Carefully, he takes his pointer and middle finger, spreading her lips apart, her velvety walls were practically glistening with wetness already.
A surprised gasp creeps from the back of her throat, her eyes fluttering closed. “O-oh wow.” She shakes as she watches Eddie below her, his eyes staring back at her.
He licks his lips quickly before giving her a few broad licks against the little pearl that so desperately needed his attention. So easily he felt himself grow drunk on her taste, his lips softly sucking her clit into his mouth.
“Oh, shhhit, Eddie.” She exhales shakily, grabbing for his hair. She drops her head back, chin pointed toward the ceiling as her eyes roll back in her head.
As slowly and as delicately as possible he flicks his tongue around her clit, moaning against her the more he tastes her. He had dreamt for months, even before they officially started dating, about what she tasted like and how cute she would sound moaning his name while he was tongue deep inside her. Somehow she was exceeding all of his filthy fantasies.
She was holding her true moans back, her bottom lip pulled back into her mouth with her teeth gently biting down on the puffy bit. Her legs were already shaking, going back and forth between closing around his head and falling open to give him room to breathe. “K-Keep going, Eddie. Fuck-please?” She could already feel the build up happening inside and she was desperate to cum onto his tongue for the first time.
Eddie flicks his tongue quickly back and forth across her clit, his fingers teasing her entrance, wetting the tips of her fingers with all of the sweet juices she was giving him. As slowly as he can, he slides in one finger, groaning when he feels her muscles fit around his finger tightly.
She whines out loud, letting her guard down finally. “Oh my god, that feels so good, baby.” She reaches for him, twisiting her fingers in his messy dark locs.
His doe eyes look up at her, wanting to take in how beautiful she looked with her lips parted open, her eyes hooded half shut with her eyes rolling in the back of her head. It made his dick throb to see her relax and enjoying herself from pleasure he was giving her.
Regretfully he pulls back from tonguing her clit, kissing both of her inner thighs. “Do you think I can get you to cum on my fingers?” He raises his eyebrows at her, a single finger still buried deep inside her.
She huffs out a nervous laugh, biting her bottom lip. “I think so. Let’s try.” A little bit of confidence sneaking out.
“That’s my girl.” Eddie grins, kissing her clit before sucking at the button in between his lips. Eddie’s ring finger pokes at her entrance, trying to fit a second finger in her.
Her thighs close around Eddie’s head, her body having a mind of its own. “Sorry. Sorry.” She apologizes, laying her thighs out flat against the mattress to give him more access to her.
Eddie pulls back again, taking his two middle fingers and gathering all the slick he can from her entrance to lube his fingers up. “I’m going to try and fit another finger in, okay? Tell me if it hurts and I’ll stop.”
She nods her head, relaxing her body as she feels one of his fingers slip back in with ease, already stretched out enough to take one of his fingers.
Eddie drops a bead of spit onto his ring finger, gently fitting it along side his middle finger. “There you go, good girl. Take it nice and slow.” He watches her face carefully, making sure it doesn’t tweak up in discomfort.
Her back arches off the bed slightly, pushing her pussy closer toward him, helping his second finger slide in all the way.
“That’s my girl. Got two of my fingers in you.” He smirks. “Feel it stretching you out? It feel good?”
She shakily moans out a, “Yes.” Her cheeks getting hot at hearing the squelching from her arousal. “Feels so good, Eddie. Can you…” Butterflies were fluttering in her stomach, nervous to request him to use his tongue.
“What baby? What do you want me to do?” He asks, arching his brow up. “Don’t have to be nervous. I’ll do whatever you want.”
“Can you go back to… to eating me out? It felt really good before.”
Eddie wastes no time licking a long stripe in between her lips, his plump lips suckling her clit against them.
Her moan gets caught in her throat, the mixture of the stretch his fingers are giving her and the gentle sucking against her clit had her body buzzing. She can’t help but move her hips against his face.
Eddie could die a happy man at this moment with his face buried inside of his girlfriend’s pussy and moans filling his ears.
She tasted just how he imagined on nights they got hot and heavy but she put a stop to things before clothes were shed.
Eddie would lay in his bed after he dropped her off back home, a blunt half smoked on his nightstand, his hand wrapped around his cock while he pumped it furiously, desperately wishing he was devouring her pussy.
They were lucky there were no other houses surrounding them with how loud she was moaning Eddie’s name, surrounding his name with obscenities and pleas for him to keep going and not to stop.
Her fingers were intertwined against his dark hair, pulling at the root when the pleasure got to be too much for her, but she wasn’t strong enough to ask him to stop.
Eddie snapped out of his daydream about her, finding his tongue flicking her clit.
“Eddie please, please! I’m so close!” She was on the verge of tears the closer her orgasm got, the room turning blurry.
He zoned in, not stopping how quick his tongue moved or how fast his fingers moved inside her. His free hand gripped the softness of her thigh, squeezing the flesh.
“Eddie! Right there! I’m going to cum!”
Eddie watched as she lost herself on his fingers and his tongue, her muscles tightening around his fingers. Her whole body shook while her head rolled back against the pillow it rested on. Her grip against his hair loosened, her hand just cradling his head while she figured out how to breathe again.
Very carefully he took his fingers out of her, letting the cum on his fingers swipe against her sensitive clit, causing her to hiss slightly at the overstimulation.
Eddie parts her lips again, taking in the beautiful sight of her pussy glistening with his saliva and her cum. He shoots her a mischievous smile before licking at her clit again, being kind of theatrical and slurping up her cum loudly.
She can’t help but giggle, hiding her face behind her hands. “Eddie!”
Eddie presses a few more kisses to her inner thighs and her mound before laying on the bed next to her. “You did so good, sweetheart.” He wraps his arms around her body, bringing her closer to him to cuddle against his side. “How are you feeling?”
She hums against his warm skin, smiling to herself as he runs his fingers up and down her arm. “Good. Really, really good. You made me feel amazing.” She smiles, kissing his neck. She shuffles off the bed and takes a deep breath, hooking her fingers under the waistband of her panties and sliding them down her thighs and onto the floor.
Eddie’s eyes practically jump out of his sockets, much like the men in cartoons when an attractive woman passes by. He sits up onto his elbows, his eyes scanning her lower half, taking in every detail of her. “You are beautiful.” He mutters softly.
She uses her pointer finger, motioning him to come to her.
Eddie barely skips a beat before he jumps to sit on the edge of the bed, watching his girlfriend for her next move.
Her eyes never leave his as she lifts her shirt up over her head, leaving it on the floor next to the rest of their clothes. Her whole body tingled as she reaches behind her back to unclasp her bra, letting the straps fall down her arms and tossing it into Eddie’s lap.
“Shit. Holy shit.” He licks his lips out of instinct, trying his hardest to be respectful and gentle, but in the back of his mind all he wanted to do was throw her into the bed and kiss every square inch of her body.
“I look okay?” She questions, nervously fumbling with her hands.
“Sweetheart… you are more than I could have ever imagined.” He takes her busy hands and pulls her into his lap, letting her straddle him.
The wet heat from her pussy radiated onto his still clothed crotch, the tent he was sporting was begging to be let out of its confines.
“I’m glad you’re comfortable enough around me to show your beautiful body to me. You were so worth the wait, baby.” He mutters against her lips, kissing her softly.
She melts against him, holding onto both sides of his shoulders while they kiss, letting his hands explore her bare body for the first time.
Eddie’s warm hands grab her supple hips, his fingertips crawling across her back only to push her closer to his chest. He pulls back from her swollen lips, immediately kissing and sucking her neck. His hand massages at the rounded curves on her chest, kneading it in his hand.
The ends of his hair tickle her skin, making her laugh and attempt to pull back from his lips.
“Hey, hey, hey.” Eddie laughs back, trying to bring her back toward him. “Where you going?”
“You’re tickling me.” She sighs, trying to gain her composure back, but staring back into Eddie’s eyes makes her laugh all over again, hiding her face in his neck.
Eddie can’t help but smile, her laugh being one of his favorite sounds. “This is supposed to be sexy and instead you’re laughing.”
“I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” Her giggles fading slowly as she takes deep breaths, but nothing working her out of her giggle fits.
He wraps his arms around her, rolling her back first onto the bed, putting his weight on top of her.
She beams up at him, her body relaxing as she stares at him with love in her eyes. “Sorry I ruined the moment.” She apologizes, stroking his cheek with her thumb.
“You didn’t ruin the moment. I was just teasin’. I like when you’re giggly, it’s cute. Besides, sex can’t be so serious, then it’s not fun.”
“I love you, Eddie.”
“I think I love you more, sweetheart.” He flashes his cow eyes at her.
Her stomach fills with butterflies again, but this time there is a similar feeling in her pussy. She softly moans before she wraps her legs around his torso, pushing him into her. “I want you.” Her fingers intertwine between his curls, kissing him hungrily.
“You’ve had me since day one, sweetness.” Eddie’s cock was on the verge of bursting out of his boxers, he was dying to feel his girlfriend wrapped around his cock for the first time ever.
If her cumming around his fingers felt like heaven, then he was going to pass away feeling her cum on his cock.
“I gotta take these off, babe. My guy is suffocating in there.” He jokes.
Eddie had been naked in front of her plenty, but she still loved seeing his lanky body every time. He caught her staring at him kicking his boxers off, looking at him like an animal about to devour a piece of meat.
“Like something you see?”
Her eyes go down to his swollen cock, the tip of it shiny with precum already. She wanted to sink down onto her knees on the floor and play with him the way he did to her.
He climbs back on the bed, letting his heavy length rest against her thigh as he kisses her chest. “You have all weekend to suck my cock, sweetheart.” He all but reads her mind. “Right now, I need to be inside you. You okay with me taking charge? Moving you around where I need you and stuff?”
She blinks up at him, a little bit of nerves mixed in with the butterflies. “Of course. I trust you.” She smiles.
Eddie takes one of her legs, resting it on his shoulder. “Keep your leg right here for me, sweetheart.” He grabs the base of his cock and runs it up and down her soaking silt. “Fuck.” He whispers quietly as he feels their cum mix together for the first time.
He pushes his head to part in between her lips, pressing it against her hole. “If it hurts, tell me and I’ll stop.” Very carefully he finally pushes inside her, his tip already being squeezed. “Fuck baby, you okay to take the rest of it?” He grunts out.
“Yeah, I-I can take it.”
Eddie slowly pushes the rest of himself inside, trying his hardest to choke back his grunt.
She was a mess under him, her nails sinking into his shoulders as she stretches around his thickness for the first time. “Eddie!” She whines. “You’re so deep in me.”
“Yeah, sweetheart. Are you doing okay?” His cheeks and neck tinted red.
“I’m good. So good.” She sits up slightly and pushes him closer to her until they’re chest to chest and kissing each other softly.
The stretch he was giving her was something that she had been wanting for so long, it was like she was made to take his thick cock.
Eddie finally starts to slowly thrust into her, being mindful to go at a slow pace for now.
Her hands travel all over Eddie’s body, needing to feel him closer to her even though he was as close as he could possibly be.
Eddie takes her leg that was propped up on his shoulder and gently puts it back onto the bed, grabbing both of her legs and wrapping them around his lower back. “You’re doing so good, baby.” He whispers as he rests his forehead on hers, watching every single detail in her face each time he hits the back of her pussy. “Doing so good for me.”
“Want more.” She moans out, tightening her hold around his waist.
His head drops down in between her neck and shoulder, his lips kissing her bare skin as his slow thrusts turn into shallow and hard snaps of his hips. “That’s my girl. Taking my dick like a pro for the first time.”
She smiled to herself at his praise, feeling a sense of accomplishment that she could handle his thick cock.
They answered each other’s moans, the room filled with their sounds.
“Please.” She whines in his ear, holding his hip tightly, desperate for more of him.
“Please what, sweetheart? What do you need?”
“Want you to go faster, Eddie please.”
Eddie sits up on his knees without pulling out of her, picking up both of her legs and throwing them up onto his shoulders. Instantly, he starts to drill into her. The hold he has on her thighs was tight, the likelihood of there being bruises from his hands definitely high.
“Fuck, Eddie!” She cries out, her eyes rolling in the back of her head.
A sly smirk spreads across Eddie’s face, quickly spitting on his fingers and gently rubbing at her clit. “You are really enjoying yourself, baby. I’m so glad I can make you feel good.”
A half growl and half moan comes from deep in her throat with her clit being played with. “Please don’t stop. I wanna cum for you again.”
“Yeah I’m not stopping, baby. I got you.”
Eddie was in full on tunnel vision, fucking her with all he had, his balls slapping against her ass quickly. All he wanted to do was make her cum because he wasn’t far off from cumming himself.
One of her hands slowly makes it way down to the hand playing with her clit, holding his wrist to keep him in place. She knew that Eddie would be more than eager to please her and he was somehow more than she had imagined.
“I love you, Eddie.” She whines. “I love you so much.”
“I love you too, baby. Love my girl so much.”
His words go straight to her pussy, making it flutter before she cums around his cock, her walls clenching around him while Eddie continues to circle her clit slowly.
“Fuck, b-baby. I c-can’t hold it back! Gotta cum so bad.” Eddie pulls himself out of her quickly, shooting ropes onto her stomach as he jerks his length, unable to control his moans.
He collapses on the bed next to her, nuzzling his face in between her neck and shoulder to kiss her skin. “Are you okay, sweetheart?”
“Really good.” She sighs, turning her head to rest against his forehead. “That was so amazing.”
Eddie wraps his arms around her, bringing her to rest in his chest. “I’m so glad you enjoyed yourself, baby. I’m so glad you trusted me enough to make you feel good.”
She can’t manage to keep her lips off of him, kissing all along his jaw, his neck and his shoulder, any part of his body that she could. “You made me feel so comfortable and made me feel beautiful.”
“That’s because you are beautiful, sweetheart. So goddamn beautiful it’s almost a crime.” He kisses her lips so delicately, wanting to savor this moment for as long as he could.
“You’re such a sap.” She jokes, nuzzling back into his chest. “But I kinda like it.”
“Let me get you something to clean you up, sweetheart. That way we can cuddle under the sheets together. Maybe get a nap in since you put in a lot of work.”
Eddie plants a kiss to her forehead before unlatching himself from her and grabbing his skull handkerchief and wiping his seed off her stomach and wiping her slit clean from all the leftover wetness.
“Meet you back here in 5, Eds. Don’t go to sleep without me.” She gets up from the bed, wrapping her arms around his waist as she kisses his chest before walking into the bathroom.
They were both in for a very tiring weekend.
⋆·˚ ༘ * please, please, please
warnings: set during that one scene from ttc, reader is a minor goddess of music/singing (to fit the sabrina carpenter vibe ykwim?), a bunch of quotes are not mine they are direct from the book so credits to uncle rick!! there’s also a lorelai gilmore reference at the end
pairing: apollo x goddess! daughter of aphrodite and ares
“absolutely not”
you give the sun god a look of pleading and he laughs at your desperation
“I don’t know what you’re talking about”
you hit his head “yes you do”
“she’s my dear old sister-” apollo begins
“exactly. along with her hunters and others”
“I don’t see the problem”
“the problem is that you can’t control yourself”
“well when I’m around you…”
“oh my gods!” you hit him twice this time “this is what I’m talking about. you’re an idiot”
apollo ignores your comment and drives (??) the sun chariot to the snowy ground
“I beg you do not embarrass motherfucker” you warn
when you step out onto the wet grass and before you have the chance to greet everyone apollo speaks,
"little sister!" he calls "what's up? you never call. you never write. I was getting worried!"
artemis sighs "I'm fine, apollo. and I am not your little sister"
"hey, I was born first."
"we're twins! how many millennia do we have to argue?"
"so what's up?" he interrupted. "got the girls with you, I see. you all need some tips on archery?”
“I need a favor. I have some hunting to do, alone. I need you to take my companions to camp half-blood”
"sure, sis" he then raised his hands in a stop everything gesture “I feel a haiku coming”
the hunters groaned but nonetheless he held up a dramatic hand and began to speak,
‘green grass breaks through snow
artemis pleads for my help
I am so cool’
he grinned waiting for an applause
“last line was four syllables” you point out
apollo frowns "was it?"
"yes” artemis agrees “what about I am so big-headed?"
"no, no, that's six syllables” he starts to mutter to himself but you ignore it, you could be here for days
one of the hunters, zoe you recognized turned to the demigods and explained how apollo had been into haikus since he got back from japan, and said god interrupted her soon after
"I've got it!" he announced "I am so awesome. that's five syllables!" he bowed feeling pleased with himself
"and now, sis” he continues “transportation for the hunters, you say? good timing. I was just about ready to roll”
"these demigods will also need a ride," artemis points to them
"no problem!" apollo checked them out "let's see... thalia, right? I've heard all about you."
thalia blushes "hi, lord apollo"
‘isn’t that his sister?’ you think
"zeus's girl, yes? makes you my half sister. used to be a tree, didn't you? glad you're back. I hate it when pretty girls turn into trees. man, I remember one time-”
you cut him off with an elbow to his stomach, he winces in pain. a black haired demigod- with sea green eyes to differentiate him from the others, he must be poseidon’s- eyes you before asking,
“are you a goddess? how come I don’t recognize you?”
“minor goddess” you confirm “of music. my parents are ares and aphrodite, and unfortunately I am married to this idiot” you give apollo an angry look but he throws an arm around your shoulder
the daughter of zeus chokes on nearly nothing “married?!”
you nod “twelve years”
artemis speaks again “how she can put up with him is a mystery”
“well we should get going” apollo interrupts
“yes, I agree” you say and pull the sun god’s arm off of you, he frowns at the loss of contact
the hunters and demigods pack up their belongings and you pull apollo to the side, he prepares himself for whatever you’re going to say, which he’s sure will be a scolding because he ignored the one thing you asked of him
“listen-” he starts
“how about I talk you listen?” you cross your arms
this was going to be a long scolding…
Returns
Pairing: Daryl Dixon x Reader
Warnings: None
Summary: Daryl finds something in his pack that doesn't belong to him... (ps. it's yours)
Era: Season 2, the farm
A/n: This is a silly little thank you for everyone who's been supporting my writing! If you've liked/commented/reblogged any of my works recently, this is for you. :)
Daryl digs around in his backpack, shoving aside arrow bits and extra clothes in the search for a clean(ish) rag he knows is buried in here somewhere. Ah, there, the glimpse of a red hue must be what he's looking for. He tugs it free, but as he brings it into the daylight it comes to his attention that this piece of cloth doesn't belong to him.
He drops it immediately, head swiveling to make sure nobody saw. But no, he's tucked far away from the rest of the group, not a soul in sight. He gingerly picks up the garment before realizing how ridiculous he's being and shoves it in his pocket. He'll slip into your tent, return it, and get the hell out of there and get on with the rest of his day.
Everyone's either dispersed to other parts of the farm or busy enough completing whatever chores they've taken on to notice him. Even if he didn't already know which tent was yours, it'd be obvious from the plethora of herbs and flowers hanging to dry by the entrance, and the dog-eared foraging guidebook waiting on a lawn chair for your return.
He peers through the screen window to assure himself that you're not around before unzipping the door and stepping inside. A moment too late, he realizes the amount of dirt he's just tracked into your otherwise pristine living space, and curses. Nothing to do about it now he supposes. He squats down, opening your pack and pulling the wayward item out of his pocket.
"Daryl? What're you doing in my-" Your voice makes him jump before your words falter.
His head snaps to you; you're bent down a bit, hands on your hips with sweat dripping down your temple. Your mouth is stuck in a cute little "o" of pure confusion. He's frozen, hand halfway between him and your belongings, lungs stuck mid-breath. He really should say something in his own defense.
"Is that my underwear?" You ask a little more quietly.
"I - uh..." He gapes. He's invading your privacy in so many ways, you're going to think he's a total ass if not a complete creep. And he actually doesn't mind you too much so he doesn't want you to think of him in that way. Not that you think of him at all. But now when you do you're going to hate his guts. "They - uh..." He tries.
"Ohh. I get it." You say, nodding, like this all makes total sense. "I've got something of yours I've been meaning to return, just wasn't sure how to make it not-awkward..." You kneel down beside him, fishing around in a side compartment on your bag. "Buuuut no matter. I believe these belong to you." You hold out a pair of faded boxers that've been rolled up neatly.
"Hey, Rick wants to know if-" Glenn appears in the tent opening and Daryl can practically see the gears struggling to turn in his head as he takes in the two of you so close together, each obviously holding the other's intimates. "Y'know what? Nevermind. Just go talk to Rick when you're done or whatever, okay?" He sighs, walking away.
Daryl wastes no time grabbing his boxers, shoving them in his pocket. You do the same but with more grace, standing to brush off your pants.
You let out a small chuckle, biting down a bit on your lip. "It was so hectic when we left the CDC; must've grabbed each other's stuff then." You step outside and he follows. "Thanks for returning them." You say, stooping to re-zip the tent.
The CDC is such a blur that it takes effort to remember. There weren't enough rooms for everyone and so you'd asked to bunk with him. Even though he was sufficiently intoxicated that night, he'd been lucid enough to appreciate not being alone, your steady breaths in the unsettling darkness had quieted his nerves.
He can't seem to make his eyes stay on you for long, though that doesn't stop your gaze from lingering - he can practically feel every place your eyes land as you study him. "S'no problem." He shrugs.
"Well, I guess I'd better go see what Rick wants..." you sigh, making no noticeable effort to go anywhere.
You're leaving a space for him to say something but he doesn't really have anything to add to that. "Yeah." He replies dumbly.
A soft smile grows upon your lips. "Don't be a stranger, okay? Some of us actually enjoy your company." You nudge his shoulder good-naturedly as you walk away.
He mulls over your words, trying dissect what that last little bit means. You were just being kind, right? He's pretty sure people have barely put up with his company, let alone enjoyed it. Realizing you've already been gone for multiple minutes he pushes those thoughts to the back of his mind and trudges off, noting that there's at least a few hours of good daylight left to make use of. But those thoughts are still there, nagging, toying with him.
---
A couple of days later, when Daryl returns to his camp after a successful enough trip into the woods, there sits your well-loved guidebook. It's laying on the ground where you must've set it when you stopped by earlier and forgotten it when the two of you headed out. He picks it up, flipping through the bent pages and your frequent notes when he passes one that makes him stop and turn back. Next to chanterelle mushrooms you've scribbled 'Daryl - pair w/ venison' . He hadn't caught game that big since back at the quarry, and even then the geeks got to it first. A small swell of pride rises within him at the thought of you planning ahead in this way, of you counting on him to provide.
The feeling follows him as he settles down for the night. Pulling out a flashlight he figures he might as well see if there's anything he can learn from your book... Or maybe that's just an excuse to search for more of your annotations. He'll have another return to make in the morning, but he can't quite bring himself to mind all that much.
BIRTHDAY
carl grimes x reader
(you find carl the perfect gift.)
tags: fluff fluff fluff
masterlist here! (i fixed it btw)
send some more requests!!!
You could never keep a secret from Carl, no matter how serious or how stupid he could always manage to get it out of you. All he had to do was ask repeatedly or when you got really stubborn he’d tickle it out of you. He’s just that kind of guy, he likes to know everything going on in that brain of yours. But more importantly he hates secrets.
That’s why when his birthday rolled around you had no idea what to get him or how you would even keep it from him. You’d done the classic comic gift maybe two times before already. Last year you had gotten him a vinyl for his record player and he was happy with it.
Carl didn’t care for gifts at all, he believed your presence was enough but gifts sort of just gave him something to enjoy with you. Every time you’d gotten him a comic, you read it with him. When you got him that vinyl, he listened to it with you. He was happy, so you knew whatever you got him this year was something you should enjoy too.
You decided to go out to scavenge with Glenn to see if you could find anything. You went out to a shopping center nearby and looked around there. You thought maybe you could get him a new flannel but you weren’t sure if he’d like it. You found a red flannel and realized he’d hate it.
“Hey, is this ugly?” You asked Glenn who was also digging through racks to find something for Maggie since her birthday was coming soon too. He looked over and cringed at the sight of it. “Yeah that’s- that’s pretty bad..” He looked back to the racks to dig through. “Fair.”
You were so stumped, what could he possibly want? You walk through the store some more, looking around the aisles when you hear something behind you. A small meow. You stop in your tracks and just pause. You loved cats probably as much as you loved Carl. You turn around and look to the floor to be met with the cutest little siamese kitten.
You crouch to the floor and let him walk to you. You melt at how adorable he is before gently picking him up. You need to show Glenn. When you find Glenn, his eyes are locked on the racks of clothes still. “Glenn.” You try to get his attention but his eyes wouldn’t pry away. You stick the cat out in his direction. “Glenn look.” He rolls his eyes and turns to you to be face to face with a cat and he almost jumps a little.
“Oh- jesus christ. Where…” His voice trails off when he realizes what you’re asking. “No. Nope. That thing probably has fleas.” He replies backing away. “But he doesn’t I already checked and even if he does we can treat it, can’t we? Cmonnn for Carl’s birthday.” You smile pleadingly. Glenn sighs and agrees. “Fine but if I get in trouble with Rick or Michonne, you’re dead.”
You smile and thank him. You look around the store for some more stuff you might need like the cats food or maybe a collar or something. You find everything and a couple a toys before you guys leave back to Alexandria. You knew getting back home would be tough, Carl’s birthday isn’t till tomorrow so you needed a way to hide the cat.
When you approached the gates you knew you’d have to be quick to hide him. You couldn’t ask Glenn since he’s already at risk of being scolded because Rick would usually never agree to letting you bring an animal home. So you thought of someone Rick can’t get mad at.
“That ain’t happenin.” Daryl says as you’re standing at his doorstep practically begging him to let you keep the cat there for the night. “Daryl it’s just for tonight? Please? It’s the perfect gift for him and I can’t keep it at our house he’ll find out and I don’t want it to be spoiled.” You pout. It kinda worked.
“If it shits in here you’re cleanin it up.” He grumbles, taking the cat from your hands and your bag of supplies. You thank him and praise him for doing you the favor. Now it’s just a matter of keeping it from Carl until the morning.
You and Glenn had come back from the run quite late so it shouldn’t be that hard. Maybe an hour and you can spend half of it in the shower. You walk into the house and Carl was feeding Judith dinner. “Hey how was the run?” He asks, trying to get Judith to eat the food off the spoon. “Fine.” You muster up. He’s confused as to why you’re being so short with him. “Find anything interesting?” He adds. “No. Not at all, I think i’m gonna go shower.” You make your way over to the stairs and he chose not to push it. He knew something was up, maybe you actually hadn’t found anything and you were upset about it. Or you were up to something else.
You had to wake up early the next morning in order to surprise him properly. You walked downstairs to see Carol cooking his breakfast and she flashes you a smile before going back to work. You head back over next door to collect the cat. You walk in and Daryl’s looking down in the box he had kept him in. He notices you and looks at you for a moment before speaking. “He shit in the kitchen.” He tells you before walking past you and out the door. “What the fuck, Daryl?” You giggle.
You handle it of course due to your guys’ agreement. You gather everything and head back over to finally surprise Carl. Rick and Michonne didn’t even realize you’d gotten him a cat so they found out when Carl did. They didn’t care, however, they knew the both of you would parent that thing like it was your damn newborn. You walk into your guys’ room and see he’s still soundly asleep. You gently place the cat on him as he sleeps and you poke him to wake up.
“Wh- woah what-“ Rick and Michonne giggle at how delirious he was. “Happy birthday.” You smile, waiting for him to process. He sits there for a moment to do so. “Wait we can keep it?” He croaks out. You look to Rick and Michonne and they look to each other. They look back to the both of you and nod, finally giving in. “Thank you.” He smiles as you lean down to kiss his forehead.
The rest of the day went perfectly, you guys spent the whole day together and got to do whatever it was you wanted, like going out to the woods with your new cat. Carl had his birthday dinner and afterwards you both went upstairs to rest from your eventful day.
His birthday ended perfectly. Laying in bed with his favorite person and his new kitten.
It couldn’t get any better than that.
a/n: i hope you likedddd ittttt this one’s one of my favorites now UHHH i didn’t give the cat a specific name bc i wanna leave that to you guys to name him muehehehe lowkey reply with a name you’d give the cat :P THIS REQUEST WAS ADOOORABLE THANK YOU ♠️
Sunshine Optimist | Daryl Dixion x fem reader
plot: you were sunshine and he was scared of getting burned.
word count: 1305
a/n: heyyyy here is another daryl story hope you enjoy!
Daryl was always jealous of your optimism, the way you constantly thought things would get better or that the world wasn't as screwed up as it seemed.
Every time the group had a bump in the road, you were there, telling everyone that things would turn around; most of the time, you were right, and when you were wrong, Daryl was the only one to remind you of it. You liked him and never let his words hurt you too much, not when you knew he was just hurting. Daryl didn't let many people in, including you, but when he did, you knew it was because of your optimism that he did.
You were like sunshine in his eyes, and he was afraid of getting burned.
You thought he was like the night sky, dark, but with a few shining stars, the dark wasn't that intimidating.
The prison was the first shining star in Daryl's world. He hated that he believed your optimism then and loved that you were right. He grumbled about it to Carol so often that the woman would just laugh and shoo him away to go figure out his feelings. Daryl knew he liked you, you made his world light up, and he also knew he could never tell you. He did the only thing he knew how to do when he had feelings: push them and you away so he wouldn't have to worry about it.
That only made things worse for him.
You knew he pushed you away, you could feel it and see that whatever he was feeling scared the shit out of him. Rick even tried to comfort you about it.
“He's scared,” Rick said as he walked up beside you. You were standing on the gravel road watching him ride off on his motorcycle after another failed conversation with the man. Rick put a hand on your shoulder. “He's…not good with his feelings”
“I know. Just wish he would talk to me.” You told the older man. “I like him but sometimes it hurts too.”
“Sometimes love hurts”
“That's not helping this situation Rick” you told him sarcastically.
“I know. I'm sorry. Daryl…he's like a deer, startle him and he’ll run”
“That's probably the best way to describe him,” you said laughing. Rick smiled, patted your soldier, and walked back to helping the others with walker controle.
Daryl kept burying his feelings for you, deep, deep down. He felt his skin burn when he was near you, so he never put himself in that situation. That never worked because you would seek him out more than he wanted you to. It took 6 months of being in the Prison before something happened that forced him to feel what he was trying not to.
You joined Daryl, Michonne, and a few of the new people at the Prison on the run. You rode with Michonne in the pickup truck while the others tagged behind. Daryl rode beside the truck, failing at not watching you in the passenger seat. You knew he was watching, knew you wanted to be on that motorcycle with him, but knew you needed to let him come to you.
Once you arrived at the store a few miles from the prison and looked to have not been raided, you all made your way inside. The building was dark and muggy, and it sounded like a few employees didn't make it. You took care of the ones on your side of the store. Daryl closes behind, keeping an eye out. You glanced around before motioning to Daryl to hand you one of the bags to start filling. You got about halfway down the aisle when a Walker jumped you out of nowhere. He didn't bite you, but shit, he scared you.
“Fuck” you cursed as the walked pushed you back twords the wall, making you knife fummble out of your handsat the supprise. Daryl jumped into action shoving the walker off you and killing it before it could get a taste of skin. Daryl jumped back over to you looking over every inch of skin.
“He didn't get me. He didn't get me. Im fine” you told him, repeating the phrase over and over till he looked you in the eyes. “Daryl, im fine”
“You ain’t comin’ out ‘ere again” he said seriously, “No more runs”
“You can't bench me Daryl” you told him turning from fright to anger.
“Hell I can” he said back.
“No. I'm not yours, Daryl. You have made that very clear. You can't come back and act like you care,” you said angrily, letting all those pent-up months of feeling like nothing to Daryl out. He stared at you blankly, realizing how horrible he must have made you feel, always shoving you away.
“I….” Daryl started, wanting to scream at himself for what he had done.
“No. Im done” you told him pushing the man off you, “i'm going over there, stay the hell away Daryl”
Daryl stared blankly at where your body had previously been before you walked off, grabbed your knife, and continued on to the next row, far away from him. For the rest of that run, you stayed away, walking to another aisle whenever he tried to keep close. Michonne picked up on the energy shift between you, too, without having to say anything.
“If she doesn't want you around Daryl, it's because you pushed her so far to do so” she told him.he nodded back, knowing it was his fault and that he caused it. “You have to fix it. No more shoving her away”
“I know”
“Good. Now get back to work, we leave in thirty” Michone said.
That night Daryl found you at your guard tower sitting outside watching the stars. He knocked on the window on the corner wall by you. Glancing over you raised it was him, you rolled your eyes.
“I thought i said to stay the hell away Daryl” you said, a bit of venom dripped in your voice. Something Daryl had never heard from you.
“I know, Im sorry”
“Sorry isn't going to cut it” You told him, “For months you have pushed me away, made me feel worthless to you and I pushed through but you have no right…”
“I know,” he said, cutting you off. “I was afraid of getting’ hurt y/n”
“Hurt?”
“yer sunshine and I'm…”
“A starry night,” you told him. Holding his gaze. “You're like the stars in the night sky, bright enough to make the darkness not so scary. I always thought you were, but then you changed.”
“I…I couldn't stand yer optimism” he said, “ya made me feel…”
“Made you feel what”
“Like my heart was gonna explode” he said, crouching down by you, “yur makin me feel optimistic about the world”
“I like having that effect on people” you told him, “I like having an affect on you
Ya do” he said, “Ya make me feel happy like I haven't been in a while”
“Good” you said and pulled him down to you, crashing your lips onto his. You pulled away from him, “Tell me your sorry again”
“I'm sorry Y/N” he said, the husky voice of the redneck sent shivers down your spine.
“And that you won't ever push me away like you did”
“I promise,” he said, smiling at the way you were making him tell you what you already knew was true. You pulled the man back and kissed him deeply. He pulled you closer to him, picked you up, and carried you into your tower. The sounds and moans that escaped your guard tower that night were heard across the starry sky, which seemed to smile down towards the Prison.
Note
do you have any hatchetfield headcanons you’d like to share???
HOHOHOHO I COULD KISS YOU (/p)
- Peter gave Ted an “I ❤️ hot moms” shirt for Christmas one year.
- Boy Jerry applied for the Hatchetfield Gazette to help support Girl Jeri during her pregnancy.
- Paul has the gift and it’s predicting the future (kind of a sixth sense/precognition), hints on why he always knows/feels like something bad will happen. But that power is so small and weak because he never unlocked it or used it as a kid.
- Ted and Dan Reynolds were best friends in high school, everyone either had trouble telling them apart or thought they were twins.
- Duke has a cat named Holly. He can't exactly explain why he chose that name. Maybe it reminded him of something…
- Becky Barnes has freckles (cause I think it fits her)
- Barry Swift sleep-walks.
- Paul can't drive. He either calls a taxi or just walks around Hatchetfield like an NPC, head empty.
- Professor Hidgens is a former member of PEIP. Also he and General McNamara used to date, no I will not elaborate.
- People think that Becky “isn't as hot as she used to be” because back in high school she was always dressed up and would wear makeup almost everyday since she was cheer captain. She’s gotten rid of that habit after graduating but now people perceive her as “less hot” because god forbid a woman age and stop doing shit for the sake of being performative anymore.
Negan x reader - insanity comes and goes
Hands stuffed in your pocket, you grinned a little bit at the man who was stood in front of you, bat over his shoulder while his people fixed their guns in you.
“So, (Y/N), are you gonna tell me why you’re skulking around home? How’d you get so far?”
“Why would I do that? Takes all the fun out of the game Negan.”
He hummed a little, walking over and he looked at you, reaching up to brush some hair from your face.
“Why not join me? You could have anything you ever wanted here, that prick can barely offer you any food. You tell me what he’s planning and I’ll let you keep your shit, and give you more.”
This had been his play the entire time, Negan was sure that he could turn you against Rick and the others and use you as a double agent.
The issue with that is that was boring, and you didn’t feel like selling out your friends just for some stuff that didn’t even matter in this world anymore.
You smirked a little, and in a swift motion took the bat from his hands.
“Give Lucille back!” He roared.
“Aw is this special to you? You want it back you big baby?”
You raised your brows in suggestion then you moved your hand, flinging the bay across the fence, out into all of the walkers.
“Oops.”
He stormed over, grabbing you by the collar he landed a punch on your face, and he slammed you against the fence.
He sneered, clenching his jaw.
“Whatever game you’re fucking playing, I’m done with it. I’m going to have tour god damn bones sent back to the prick…”
“And I’m gonna haunt your ass until you go insane.” You smirked.
You tossed you aside, and you heard a loud bang before everything went black.
“Get me Lucille!” He snapped.
He looked down at your body, bullet in your head, and he walked past you over to his men and back inside.
He ordered somebody to take your body and throw it to the walkers, and he began gathering a company to pay Alexandria a visit, less than impressed with your visit.
He walked outside, and he was stopped by Simon.
“She’s gone.”
“What the fuck do you mean she’s gone? She wasn’t exactly fucking going anywhere Simon!”
“She’s gone Negan, someone came outside to move the body and it’s not there, there isn’t even a blood trail.”
Negan yelled, slamming his fist into the side of the truck.
“Then they find it!”
He got into the truck, balling his hands into fists in pure rage.
He stayed silent as they made their way to the community, and the gates were opened when they arrived.
“Rick!” He roared.
Said man came jogging over, slowly down to a walk.
“That bitch of a friend of yours, you send her to my home?”
“Who?” Rick asked confused.
“(Y/N), because I hate to break it to you but I put a bullet in the middle of her pretty little head, but now her body is missing, so how many did you send?”
“I never sent anyone.”
Negan grabbed Rick by the back of his shirt, dragging him towards his house and the people followed to see what was going on.
He tossed Rick to the ground and Negan took his gun, aiming it at Carl.
“You tell me the truth, or I put a bullet in your goddamn son too.”
“Oo scary.” You mocked.
“What the fuck?”
Negan turned around to see you sitting on the curb, and you grinned, offering him a little wave.
“Holy crap, now either you’re dead and I’m seeing shit, or there’s more than one of you.”
You hummed a little bit.
“No, just want. I don’t think poor Rick here could handle more than one of me, I annoy him enough.”
“Now I remember watching a bullet go through your brain.”
“Oh yeah? What it look like? Was there a lotta blood? Cause that’s always a fun way to die.”
“Let’s fucking find out!”
Negan took Rick’s gun and aimed it at you, pulling the trigger and a few people screamed.
Negan looked around at them all, noticing the lack of horror or sadness on their faces.
“Come on! What’s wrong with your people I just killed your friend!”
You pushed yourself up, rubbing your forehead, and you looked at your blood on the floor.
“Damn, that is a lot of blood.”
“What the fuck?!”
Negan walked over, shooting your again, and he grabbed his bat, hitting you a few times for good measure.
Your blood splattered his clothes and the ground, and he just stood there looking at you, watching you.
“(Y/N)s just going to wake up again.” Carl called.
Negan looked to him, and Carl shrugged a little bit.
“Apparently out of all the people in the world, death just don’t like me.” You said.
You sat up, wiping the blood from your eyes and you watched Negan spun around with a mortified look on his face.
He’d seen some shit, and done some shit, but this? This was something different compared to anything he had ever seen or done.
“What the shit is wrong with you? Why won’t you die?!”
He swung his bat again, this time keeping an eye on you, and he could see the blood stop flowing from your wound, and you grinned a little bit.
“Please keep going, maybe I can actually get a good night sleep for once.”
He took a few steps away from you, and you sat in your own blood, just grinning from ear to ear at him.
“I told you I’d haunt your ass…”
Negan looked to Rick.
“Tell me this shit ain’t real.”
“No, it’s real. Apparently there’s just no getting rid of (Y/N) at this point.” Rick sighed.
You pushed yourself up, wiping your hands on your shirt.
“Nope, you’re stuck with my ass until you die!” You beamed.
“This is fucking insane. You’re fucking insane.” Negan said.
You gave a half shrug.
“Maybe just a lot, yeah. Sanity comes and goes.”
You took a step forward and he subconsciously took one back.
The problem with being human was that no matter how big and tough you acted, if you saw something that wasn’t natural, your immediate response is to stay away from it.
So Negan pulled Rick in front of him and you stopped walking.
“What the actual fuck…? Now I got some psychos in my lot, but you? You’re a whole new level of fucked.”
“I know! It’s great!” You laughed.
You bent down, picking up a tree branch and you looked at Negan.
“So, who do you think will win? Me or you? Cause I’m kinda wondering how long it’ll take me to beat the shit outta you with this branch before it breaks.”
“You come any closer and I’ll paint the ground with his blood.”
You hummed.
“Yeah, okay.”
You tossed the stick aside.
“Oh by the way Negan, you should probably evacuate your base.”
“What the fuck did you do?”
“I maybe have rigged some explosives. I was bored waiting for you.”
Some of his men began running back to their cars and trucks.
“You should probably find them before someone triggers one.” You smirked.
He clenched his jaw, pushing Rick to the ground.
“Run…” you whispered.
You grabbed the stick and ran after them all, yelling as they jumped into their vehicles to try and get away from you.
It made you laugh loudly and you swung it at the door of Negans truck.
“You fucked it Negan! You can’t kill me but I can kill the shit out of you!”
He stuck his middle finger up at you as he drove away and you grinned proudly at Rick and a Michonne.
Daryl put his arm around your shoulders.
“See, this is why we need a crazy immortal son of a bitch.” He said.
“Yeah, what he said.”
“Well, at least that’ll make him rethink his next plans for a while.” Michonne said.
And it did.
Negan was now rethinking what he had been doing there.
People were a resource, he didn’t want to kill them, and apparently no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t kill you.
So he had to find a way to get around that if he wanted to keep doing what he was doing, but a voice in the back of his head was also warning him not to cross paths with you again.
But he wasn’t one to back down from a fight, and this just made things a whole lot more interesting
daryl dixon - it’s you.
warnings: walkers, violence, daryl being an asshole, sixty-nine, daryl being an absolute munch, swearing, spitting, biting, smacking, fingering, choking, degrading, unprotected rough angry sex. prison era s4.
3.3k words
“oh i’m the brat? you’re the one thats complaining.” you stormed out of your cell, following daryl. rick had told you and daryl that y’all had to go on a run together.
you and daryl never got along. there is always this tension between you two that you can’t pinpoint. when rick had told you, you were just as mad as daryl but you didn’t complain. daryl on the other hand had complained to rick about how annoying you were and that you were a complete brat.
“ya always fussin’ bout somethin’. don’t ya know when to shut ya trap.” he takes a drag from whatever he had in his mouth before looking up at you. just like in the gif. he was good looking beyond belief. would you ever say it out loud? hell no.
i looked back at him to notice he never took his eyes off of me. you broke the eye contact. mumbling a “fuck you” as i walked back into the prison to start getting ready for the run. you loaded your gun and slipped it into your waistband and put your knife in its little holder on your thigh.
you looked over your shoulder as carol came into your cell. “be safe out there, sweetie and try not to kill daryl.” you rolled your eyes and huffed out. “ill be safe but i can’t guarantee that last part, maybe ill feed him to the walkers.”
you hear a knock on the concrete wall and you looked up. “let’s go.” daryl huffed out and then turned on his heel and walked out. “ill see you later, carol” you threw your bag over your shoulder and headed out.
you stopped as soon as you got out. “no fucking way.” daryl was on his bike, not in a car, on his fucking bike. where i would have to physically touch him, breathe him in.
“come on, y/n cant ya just cooperate.” he pinched the bridge of his nose. “can’t you be fuckin’ normal and get in a car?” you grabbed the keys off of the door. he gave you a look that only meant that he wasn’t gonna budge.
“please just this once.”
he rolled his eyes and killed the engine to the bike. “fuckin’ bitch” he muttered under his breath. “i heard you asshole.” i walked to the grey suv. daryl following my tracks, just as i was about to open the door daryl pins me to the car.
“what’s your problem with me.” our faces inches away from each other. “let me go, daryl.” his face got closer. “answer my question first.” his eyes dropped to your lips before it came back up to your eyes.
a moment of silence passed before carl came running out. “y/n, you forgot..” daryl pushed off of the car. “sorry, if i interrupted.” daryl walked around and got in the passenger side. “no you didn’t interrupt. what’d you need?”
he handed you a gun. “you forgot it.” he ran back inside. you opened the door to the car and sighed. this was gonna be a long, long drive.
daryl had bitched the entire ride to the rundown store and now he was bitching for some unknown reason. “you bitch a whole lot for someone who said i was always fussing about something.”
“ ‘m not bitchin’ bout anything.” he grumbled. you looked over at him and sighed. “you asked what my problem is, whats yours? you always give me shit for every little thing.”
he pushed me against the side of the store we just left. putting his hands on both sides of my head so i was trapped. “ya wanna know what my problem is?” you throat moved as you very visibly gulped.
“it’s you.” he looked back at my lips, just like earlier but this time he looked linger. when his eyes came back up they were filled with something. lust. “you’re always bitching about something. always pushin’ my buttons. making me want ‘t bend you over a table and fuck ya’ dumb.”
you hated what he did to you. he turned you on when he shouldn’t at times he shouldn’t have. when he was killing walkers and his muscles flexed just the right way in the right lighting. when he was doing something to his bike and he was all greasy and sweaty. it shouldn’t turn you on but it does.
“do it.” you said in a whisper barely audible, but he heard you. his lips crashed onto yours. a rough, hot steamy kiss. all of y’alls built up anger and frustration put into a kiss.
his hands came up and picked you up by your thighs. one arm holding you up and the other groping your ass. you moaned into the kiss. his mouth leaving yours and traveling down your neck, leaving very prominent hickeys.
you didn’t want this moment to end. no matter how much you two fought, or screamed at each other, you knew how you felt about him. he was misunderstood, he felt like he didn’t belong anywhere. you knew that because thats how you felt too. you two “hated” each other because y’all were so alike.
daryl gently put you down. he took off your knife holder that was placed around your thigh, next was your shorts. you stopped his hand as they came around your waist.
“wait.” he opened his mouth to talk before you out your hand flew to his mouth shutting him up. “do you hear that?” faint snarls coming from around the store y’all we at.
he stood up taking your hand from his mouth and huffed out. “damn, walkers ruinin’ all ma fun” he picked up his bow and handed you your knife holder.
“we have to go” you tapped him, signaling walkers in the distance. we walked to the car. daryl got in the drivers seat this time. i got into the passenger seat and closed the door. only to be pulled over the console and into daryls lap.
“what’re you doing?”
he kissed me and locked the doors to make sure no walkers tried getting in. his hands were everywhere. everything he touched it felt like my skin was on fire. i loved his touch. no matter how much he said he hated me, i knew deep down it wasn’t true.
he let the seat back. his hands resting on your ass. “your pretty for a brat y’know tha” he pushed you towards him so know y’all were chest to chest. kissing you hard once again. he pushed your hips down into his. your mouth falling open as a moan slips out.
taking this opportunity to stick his tongue in your mouth, making your mouth his. “so sexy.” he grumbled out. his hands moving upwards taking off my tank top pushing over my head and throwing it into the passenger seat.
“ya have a nice pair of tits” i laughed and rolled my eyes. i placed my hands at the base of his vest and shirt and slipped it off of him, throwing it over in the passenger seat with my shirt.
i grinned down at him before grinding down on him, earning a groan from him. his body was god like i ran my hands up and down his chest.
“i wanna try something.” i broke the silence. he looked at me with a look that said ‘what’re you up to’. i lifted my hips and took of my shorts leaving a shocked expression on daryl’s face when he saw that i wasn’t wearing anything underneath.
“what? its the end of the world. i don’t have lots of underwear.” he shook his head not protesting. my hands going to the button of his jeans unbuttoning them. pulling them and his boxers down to pool around his feet.
sitting back on his thigh trying to figure out how i’m gonna do this. “stay laying down” i pushed at his chest trying to turn myself around. sighing in defeat. “a-little help?”
daryl laughed and helped turn me around. minutes later we finally did it. i got up on my hands and knees trying to scoot back but instead hit my head on the wheel honking the horn. “fuck.”
daryl taking my hips and guiding them to his face. “ya have a nice pussy too.” before bringing it down on his mouth. he teased my hole with his tongue before moving up and sucking my clit. all the sudden pressure on my clit made me forget what i was supposed to be doing, making me a mess.
“ya gon’ do somethin’ or ya jus’ gonna look at it” he stopped his motion and slapped my ass. i took his shaft in my hand and started to pump it. his mouth went back to my heat.
i took his tip into my mouth, sucking it before i took the rest of him in my mouth. he was making it really hard to focus on sucking him off when he was making me feel the best i’ve felt in years.
i moaned around his length causing him to buck his hips, making me gag. "mm, i've got ya" his voice getting deeper, rumbling deep into his chest as he allows two thick fingers to slide into your slick hole.
"oh.." you moan as you toss your head back, legs twitching as they threaten to close around his head. daryl only grunts before his fingers are moving, hooking them everytime they slide out to target your spot, thumb brushing against your throbbing clit. his pace is slow and tedious, dragging out the sensation until you forget your name.
your orgasm moving in closer than you thought, his teasing actions having more of an effect on your body than the rushed ones you've endured, this felt stronger and harder to hold back.
i took his cock farther down my throat, eager to get him to get his release. occasionally sucking his length, your hands doing most of the work but his tongue was driving you to a fast release and it felt amazing. your head flew up, your moans and panting traveled in the little car space.
your hips bucked and daryl’s hand smacked your ass cheek hard before he pulled you down to him as if he was trying to suffocate on your slick while you came.
“think ya can finish me off, brat?” he said smacking your already sore and red ass. you nod your head and go back to sucking him off. bobbing your head up and down, spit dribbling dow your chin and making a mess of daryl’s cock.
his hands kneading your soft, sore red flesh. his groans getting louder and he starts to buck up into your throat. grunts, groans, and gagging all to be heard throughout the car.
you could tell he was getting close by the way he was thrusting into your mouth and his groans. “fuck, ‘m gonna cum.” he starts to use your throat making you gag and moan around him.
he threw his head back and his motions stilled as he shot his load of hot sticky cum in my mouth. he pulls out and i swallow it.
the car ride was silent, nothing could be heard except our breathing and the wind as we drove down the roads. daryl slowed the car as we pulled up to the prison and we were met by carl and carol.
when the car came to a complete stop you were first to hop out. walking to your cell, not sparing daryl another glance. you pulled out the milk crate that had your clothes in it. pulling out some underwear, a brush and clothes before going to the showers.
you caught rick on the way out of your cell. “hey rick, do you have any towels and rags left? i’m out.” he nodded and led the way to where his things were. when you got there he handed you a clean rag and towel.
“thanks” you were about to leave before rick spoke up. “what took you and daryl so long on that run?” your face got got heated and you tried to speak but no words came out.
he laughed and shook his head. “have anything to do with these?” he moved your hair and touched the dark purple mark on your neck.
you pushed past rick saying you had to shower. you entered the showering room and heard a shower on already but that didn’t bother you it was normal, until you heard him.
“ya following me or somethin’?” you turn around and are met with daryl. “no, i just came to shower.” your eyes raked over his body, taking it all in. his wet hair clung to his face and a towel that hung dangerously low on his waist.
when your eyes traveled back up they met his. “i’m just gonna, y’know” you pointed towards the shower and turned around to get in. he was still standing there, watching you.
“do you mind?” you set your stuff down and turned the shower on. he still stood there saying nothing and staring at you. you turned around and took off your clothes stepping into the water.
you didn’t even care that he was there, he seen you earlier it’s no different now. you ran your hands through your hair, feeling the water hit your face. you turned around to see if daryl was still there only to find out he left.
you washed the walker blood, sweat and the activities from earlier off of you. after a few minutes, i turned off the water and wrapped myself in a towel and wringing out my hair.
i threw on a shirt and knew it wasn’t mine with how big it was. i slipped on a pair of panties and some shorts before walking back to my cell. you closed the cell door and got laid in your bed, hoping you could get some sleep.
you closed your eyes and tried to sleep, but all you could think about was daryl, about earlier. the loud sound of metal screeching made you shoot up. “m’sorry for wakin’ you.” he came in and shut the cell door. “i wasn’t sleeping. i couldn’t.” he sat on your makeshift — the two thin mattresses from the prison beds on the floor — bed.
he looked at you, the same look from earlier. lust. he pulled you over onto his lap. “y’know i fuckin’ hate you” he said before he closed the space between us, kissing me hard.
i needed him everywhere. i was grinding down on his lap. his lips connected with my neck, leaving love bites all over.
i quietly moaned out. his hands traveled down to my shorts, slipping one hand under the waistband. he brought his lips back to mine giving me another rough kiss.
his hand pushing past my thong. teasing my clit as he worked his way to my slippery hole. he slipped his thick fingers into my heat, almost immediately starting to fuck yourself on his fingers
his finger’s matching your pace. he pulled back from our kiss and smirked. “you’re so eager.” he took his hands out of your shorts and laid you down on your bed.
“lift your hips” he tugged at your shorts. you did as he said and lifted your hips for him. “such an obedient whore for someone who hates me so much.” he tossed your shorts somewhere beside you.
“fuck you” you gasped out. he came back up kissing you, biting your lip. moving his way down your body. he lifted your shirt over your head, throwing it wherever he threw your shorts.
he took a nipple into his mouth, his hand going down to rub my clit through my underwear. “fuck” i moaned. i bit my lip to suppress all the noise i was making, seeing as though there were people trying to sleep in the rooms next to mine.
a harsh slap got delivered to my face. “i want to hear your moans.” i shook my head, disobeying what he said. he stopped everything he was doing. another harsh slap. i still didn’t budge.
“now you don’t want to fuckin’ listen.” he wrapped his hand around your neck squeezing, not to much so he didn’t hurt you. no matter how much he claimed to hate you, he never wanted to hurt you.
gasping for air you open your mouth. “i don’t want them to hear.” his hand unwrapped from your throat. “i don’t give a shit.” he went back down and yanked your lacy thongs down and took no time putting his head between your thighs.
licking and sucking on your clit as your hands tangled in his messy hair. your back arching off of the mattress. “oh fuck daryl.”
his fingers collected the slick from your heat as he pushed his thick digits into you. all the pleasure you were getting was overwhelming because this is the first time in years since you’ve done this.
“i- fuck. daryl im gonna..” he pulled his fingers out and stopped sucking. you whimpered from the loss of contact. “daryl” you whimpered. he unbuttoned his pants and pulled them and his boxers down, kicking them off.
he was big. i looked up at him and he smirked. “you like what you see?” he grabbed me by my hips and pulled me closer to him. “shut up and fuck me.”
he lined himself up with my entrance and pushed in. we both hissed as he sunk into me. “you’re so damn tight” he huffed out. he started to pound mercilessly into me.
“oh, fuck.” i squealed out. daryl came down and bit my shoulder to keep his groans contained. i tried to keep my moans contained but it was all too much and i couldn’t keep them in.
“daryl” i moaned probably loud enough for the entire cell block to hear me. he was biting down so hard i think he drew blood. i tear slipped down my cheek. “what’re you cryin’ for” he continued to mercilessly pound into you.
“i- oh god.” he was hitting the perfect spot. “right there, fuck.” he put your leg on his shoulder, your mouth hanging open. no words came out, only pure sounds of pleasure.
“i’m gonna cum.” daryl’s hand came up to your mouth. “open.” he demanded and you did. he spit into your mouth. his finger tracing your jaw. “swallow it.”
you did as he said. his trusts were getting sloppy and you could tell he was close as-well by the way he was groaning and breathing.
“you gon’ cum with me? hmm? you gonna cum on my cock?” he pounded harder. i was practically screaming at this point. “yes, please make me cum. please daryl.” this is the first and the last time he will ever hear you beg.
the familiar knot in my stomach building up. daryl hitting the same spot over and over again until the tension in my stomach finally released. daryl following right behind me as he let his seed spill into me and rolled off of me.
we laid there for a couple minutes in silence, just listening to each others breaths. “you still hate me?” i turned my head to look at him. he was smiling like an idiot. “shut up, daryl.”
after a moment of silence, i huffed out. “i never hated you.” i smiled and climbed on top of him. he smiled back. “s’that so” i nodded my head with a mhm before closing the gap between us.
this kiss wasn’t angry, it wasn’t rough, it was sweet and gentle. “daryl dixon, i’ve done nothing but love you since i laid eyes on you.”
his hands resting on your hips tracing circles. “ya love me?” he looked into your eyes. you nod and smile a bit. “i wanna hear you say it again.” he smiled.
“i love you, daryl dixon.” he kissed me after i finished my sentence. “i love ya, too, y/n.” he pulled me closer to him. kissing me all over my face.
“wanna go for round two?” i laughed and dropped my head to his chest. “anything for you, mr. dixon.”
in the morning, you woke up with his arms around you and his face buried in your neck. you look to your side and grab your shirt and shorts and sit up. being careful to not wake daryl up. you slip on the shirt and you wiggle the shorts on getting up.
you walk out of the cell and make your way to the cafeteria, where you were met with the rest of the group. “morning” rick says. “good morning” the group was all looking at you while you made your food. “i’m surprised she can still stand.” carl said making the group laugh and rick to hit the back of his head.
you sat down at the table. “how’d you sleep” carol asked. “if she did get any sleep.” glenn said. your eyes shot up from your food. “what did you say?” she looked at glenn who’s hands shot up and he acted as if he hadn’t said anything.
daryl walked into the room causing everyone to look his way. “wha, i got somethin’ on my face or sum?” he made his way over to where i was sitting and sat next to me.
maggie walked in and came behind glenn. “you two think you could keep it down at night? some people actually try to get sleep.”
my face became red and daryl laughed. “m’bad i tried to shut ‘er up but she don’ listen.” i put my hands on my face and shake my head.
“so i’m taking this as you two are alrigh’ now, no more fightin?” rick said. me and daryl both nodded our heads. “yea, no more fightin’ for now.” daryl looked over at me and pulled me closer to him by my waist and he kissed my forehead.
Nothing could have prepared me for the plot of "Wet Kuat Amortican Summer." The title reveal made it look like a mindblowers episode. The cold open looked like the setup for standard Summer and Morty shenanigans. Turns out, we were in for a "Taken"/"Total Recall" mashup parody--and since I've never seen "Total Recall," I had to pause the episode to learn what a Kuato is.
I guess this "Unmortricken" scene wasn't just a gag; it was foreshadowing.
It never fails: when Beth, Space Beth or Summer enter the room, the word "no" leaves Rick's vocabulary. He might sigh, roll his eyes, demand favors or pretend that he has better things to do, but outright refuse? Whether Summer's demanding gadgets or Beth's probing him with tongs, Rick always gives in.
He bickers with Summer, but he also approves her choice of gadget, trusts her with important tasks and eggs her on when she teases Morty. He trusts her instincts in the fight between Morty and the Kuato on the boat and believes her when she relays Morty's thoughts.
Like grandfather, like granddaughter: Rick beats up a bunch of guys for information only to run into Summer doing the same thing on Morty's behalf. He never has to worry about her.
They have a blast working together, too. Rick banters with her, shows off his tools, announces that he wants to kick down a door (bad idea) and flat-out says "I treat you like an equal because I respect you." We knew that, but it's rewarding to see Rick say it outright. He's starting to realize that it's OK to tell people that he cares.
Likewise, Rick's trauma is changing. He's showing "normal" signs of depression, i.e. drinking until he falls asleep on the couch. That's still unhealthy, but since past meltdowns involves murderous sci-fi rampages, maybe he's remembering what it's like to feel human.
I was a little disappointed that the story sidelined Morty again. Still, he took charge when he had the chance, even as a weird mutant larva. The series tends to forget that Morty and Summer are teenagers, so I've enjoyed revisiting their high school and seeing characters that had disappeared a few seasons ago.
Summer's a delight to watch because she's unstoppable. She jumps into wacky situations and rolls with whatever life throws at her. Rick doesn't just respect her--I think that he wants to be like her.
She's tough, curious and resourceful, always up for an adventure and trying new technological enhancements. But unlike Rick, she doesn't let self-pity consume her. Sometimes, she cries, breaks down and throws a fit, but she always gets up and moves on.
I mean, could you imagine Summer drinking until she falls asleep on the couch for years, not just for a couple of days after a break-up? Or ranting that she hates herself? Summer's not a victim. She's a survivor.
Rick could learn from that. In fact, maybe he should sit her down and ask her how she does it. Summer never misses a chance to flaunt her traits--and she doesn't even need that attribute slider. Anyone who can't see what makes Summer great is missing out!
Could you make a fic for Carl where he’s kind of yandere-like? You can get creative with it, but just something creepy like that. It’s okay if not! 💛
BLOODY VALENTINE. ⋆。°✩ yandere!carl grimes x reader .ᐟ WORD COUNT .ᐟ ⭑ 1.5K ꩜ .ᐟ WARNINGS ⭑ use of y/n, gore mention, blood, murder, 'yandere-like' carl (i hate using the word yandere but i don't know what else could be used T_T), crying, vomit, takes place in alexandria .ᐟ SUMMARY .ᐟ ⭑ it was pretty obvious you and carl had liked each other for a while. but after you started getting close with ron, carl started to change. ꩜ .ᐟ A/N .ᐟ ⭑ thank you so much for the request anon! i've never really written something like this before so i hope its to your liking <3 also this ofc isn't in character for carl, so i know some of the writing isn't gonna seem like him n stuff :p
⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──────────────────────────────────────── you had known carl since the prison. michonne found you on a run and took you in. and ever since then, you and carl would always hangout together. you were practically inseperable.
...that was until you guys arrived at alexandria and you met a boy named ron.
you and carl met him together when his mother and rick decided it'd be nice if the two of you made friends with people your guys' age. "you guys have video games?!" you immediately took interest to the moving characters on the television in front of ron and the boy named mikey.
"yeah, you want a turn?" ron asked, moving the controller toward you.
"yes, please!" you beamed, reaching to grab the controller from his hand when your finger grazed his, making you flinch a bit in embarrassment. "oh, sorry."
carl instantly noticed this interaction and walked over, ripping the controller out of your hand.
you frowned. "hey-"
"we're leaving." carl looked at you, then back at ron angrily.
"uh, why?" ron raised an eyebrow, squinting at carl.
carl scoffed, throwing the controller back to ron and aggressively grabbing your hand in his, practically dragging you out of the house.
"dude, what the fuck?" you shoved carl away from you once the two of you got outside.
"i don't like him. he's weird." carl blankly said, staring down at you as if your reaction was unnatural.
"he didn't even do anything! all he did was give me a controller, what's so weird about that?"
"he just met you and he's already trying to make moves-"
"no, carl. he wasn't. he was being nice." you rolled your eyes and crossed your arms together. "if anyone is being weird, it's you. what's wrong with you right now?"
carl looks at the ground and laughs before bringing up a hand to the side of your face. "nothing is 'wrong' with me. i'm fine."
"obviously not. you've never acted like this before." you shoved his hand away, shaking your head.
carl looks at you, upset, but at the same time, furious. "whatever." he walks away, shoulder-checking you as he passes.
you look back at him, confused. carl was the sweetest boy you've ever met. he's always been there for you through everything, so what is the matter with him right now?
you brushed the thoughts away and walked back into rons house, trying to clear your mind from whatever the hell is happening with carl right now.
...
the two of you hadn't spoken to each other in a while. you've been spending your time becoming acquainted to the people of alexandria, and he'd been off doing whatever.
you haven't really seen him at all, except for when you'd go home. he'd be on his porch, shaking his leg with his arms crossed. every. single. day.
he was scaring you, and you weren't confident enough to ask him what's wrong. especially not after the way he shut you down last time.
you were sure it was just him going through puberty. you never knew how boys developed, so you assumed all boys acted like how carl was acting. jealous and insecure.
you didn't even like ron, not like that. he was dating enid, and you liked carl, even if he was being weird. you just wanted to make new friends.
but today felt awful. you woke up with a sick, eerie feeling laying in your stomach. something felt wrong, but you didn't know why. you put your clothes and shoes on and stepped outside, and alexandria was silent.
"...hello?" you called out loudly. no answer.
you looked around your surroundings and noticed that some cars were missing, which you assumed was due to rick and a few others going out on a run together.
'maybe ron is here?' you thought as your gaze went towards his house. you started walking closer to the dimly lit building. as you stepped onto the porch, you rung the doorbell twice. "hello? is anyone home?" you asked through the door.
you heard a voice from the other side. "shit." a raspy, distressed voice spoke.
"are you okay?" you knocked on the door loudly as that sound.
silence.
"i'm coming in." you quickly opened the door, a disgusting stench filling your nose. "what the hell..?"
you looked around and the living room and it looked normal for the most part, despite some oddly moved furniture and some glass on the ground. but that smell. it was nauseating.
"who's there?" you asked, looking around at your surroundings as you stepped closer to the hallway, which was also closer to the strong stench. "i know someone's in here, just answer-"
you froze as you looked ahead through the doorframe and into ron's room.
there was blood everywhere. and a figure facing away from you wearing a very familiar sheriffs hat.
"oh, my god." you gagged, covering your mouth with your hand as your eyes widened at the scene.
a clinging sound was heard, a bloody knife falling to the ground. right besides ron and mikeys bodies.
you were about to pass out. you brought up your arm to hold onto the doorframe for support.
"...what did you do?"
the boy didn't respond. instead, he turned to face you. there was blood stained all along his face and body, and his eyes looked dark. he stepped closer to you, which made you step away in fear.
"i'm not going to hurt you." he softly spoke, reaching out a bloody hand in your direction.
your eyebrows furrowed in fear as you looked him straight in the eye. "are you kidding me..?"
carl brought his bloodstained hand up to your cheek, resulting in the fresh blood spreading along your face and a shiver rolling down your spine.
"i love you."
as he spoke, your faces were inches apart, the smell of iron filling up through your nose. your eyes widened further and you shook your head away from his hand. "you.. you killed ron, you killed mikey, and... now you're saying you love me in a room splattered in their blood?" you laughed fearfully.
he stayed silent, taking in your terrified expression.
"you told me you'd always keep me safe. you'd always make sure i would never feel afraid again." you reminded him, stepping further back. "you failed. miserably."
"y/n-"
"don't." you cut him off. your eyes focused back to the bodies, and you fully processed everything. your body jerked up and you threw up right by your feet. "..holy shit."
"i just.." carl shook his head. "i didn't want to lose you. i didn't want you to leave me."
"so you fucking murdered ron and mikey?!" you yelled, wiping your mouth off with your sleeve. "do you hear yourself?"
carl stayed silent, staring down at the ground with clenched fists.
"i liked you, carl. only you." your voice softened as tears began glazing over your eyes. "there wasn't any competition. it was only you."
carl looked over at you, wide eyed and confused, more guilty than before. "..what?"
"you didn't have to.. to kill people to show you love me." you pointed behind him, reminding him of what he did.
he was speechless. guilty as ever. he was shaking frantically. tears flooded his eyes as he brought a hand up to his face, which only resulted in more blood spreading across his already bloodstained face.
you laid your head on the wall, recollecting your self. carl just stood by the doorframe spacing out.
"...what do we do now?" he finally spoke, his voice wobbly and quiet.
"i don't know!" you snapped again, raising your hands over your head. "it's your mess."
"please, y/n." he begged, running a hand through his hair. "what can i do to fix this?"
"i..." you trailed off, staring at the whole scene again. "shit, carl."
you walked into the bathroom at your side and threw a towel and bucket of water out to him. "clean it up." you said before turning around to walk out of the house.
"wait." he called out.
"what?"
"are you going to tell anyone.. what i did?" his voice sounded scary, but terrified.
"not if you don't get caught." you sighed. "forge a note, hide their bodies, whatever. i'm not apart of this anymore."
carl nodded somberly. "i'm sorry."
you left the house.
...
things weren't normal at all after that day. i mean, why would they be? carl hid what happened the best he could, actually taking your advice to forge a note. you kept your word and stayed silent. jessie was a mess after that day, unsure why her boy and his best friend 'left alexandria.'
you didn't know how to feel about carl anymore. he loved you still, as far as you could tell, but you couldn't understand your feelings for him.
you knew you still loved him despite everything. but you felt as if you couldn't forgive him for taking away the first friend your age you'd made, and taking jessies son away from her.
he was basically just some sort of bloody valentine to you.
Till THE DEAD do us part | Chapter 3
A/N: This story will take place in all the seasons, but it’s not exactly a rewriting cause I’d have to re-watch everything to use the exactly lines of the characters, also I think it’s better if I tell a side story without changing the main facts of the story.
This story has a Female Reader, but I don’t describe her appearance, so anyone can identify with her.
Chapter 2 Chapter 4
Chapter 3: I’m sorry and Thank you
Summary: It’s time to bury their dead, take decisions and say goodbyes. The tension is thin in the camp and not everyone can control their emotions or how they deal with it. Hard decisions are made and a shot is take in hopes that everyone have a future. Y/N and Daryl have their first little fight in this one.
Warnings: swearing, death, violence, little angsty, fluffy, little mention of suicide that if you blink you’re gonna lose it, maybe some characters are ooc, idk 🤷🏼♀️
Pairing: Daryl Dixon x Grimes!Reader (Rick’s sister)
Word count: 4,179
Extra notes: I proofread the text, but English is not my first language, so feel free to correct any mistakes, of course with love.
Everybody started to work early, cleaning, reorganizing and getting rid of all the bodies. You needed to burry Amy, but Andrea would not let no one take care of her. You could imagine the pain she was feeling because you felt that too when you lost Rick. Amy was so young, she was sweet and gentle, she didn’t deserve it. No one deserved it.
You tried helping with whatever you could, unfortunately you were not strong enough to help carrying the body of the dead. So you were trying to make sure everyone had water to drink or something to eat, even if it’s just a little.
You were at good distance with Carl and Lori, helping them to put things in order, when you saw Rick holding a gun on Daryl’s head. Fuck. You walked the faster you could and put yourself between them. “What the hell is going on here?”
“Y/N, get out of the way.” Rick said, seeing you were not going to leave he lowered his gun. “He was going to kill Jim.”
“He was bitten! He’s a danger to everyone!” Daryl argumented, you turned around and looked at him.
“Jim is our friend, one of us… we can’t just kill him. We take care of him, he’ll eventually die and… when the time comes we… we do it.” You said, a little unsure of your own words, but that was what was the human thing to do.
“Never thought you were this dumb.” He almost spitted the words at you.
‘And I never thought you were an asshole.’ That’s what you wanted to say, but you didn’t, you just rolled your eyes at him and left. Things were under control, no one pointing guns at each other, your mission was done. That was a stupid fight and a stupid insult, but you couldn’t ignore the sting you felt at those words.
It didn’t take long for Amy to turn and Andrea have to kill her, it was heartbreaking to watch. When everything was over you had tears in the corners of your eyes. Also, you heard Carol had to kill Ed, you didn’t watch it, but you knew what it meant. Even if he was a human being, he was a monster… and now Carol and Sophia were free.
After that you buried your dead, while the zombies had already been put in fire. You said your goodbyes to Amy and hoped she was happy wherever she was. Everybody were going back to camp descending the hill, you passed through Daryl and gave him a look, that you didn’t know if it was sad, angry or upset.
“Ya defend not killing the living, but if ya could, ya would kill me right now.” Ok, so your look was the second option, angry. You just continued walking and ignored him. “ ‘m sorry.”
“Oh, I bet you are.” Sarcasm covered your words. “Maybe I’m dumb, but not SO dumb”
“I didn’t mean it. I was just angry.” He said walking by your side. “I was wrong, can we be good again? I hate how ya’re looking at me.” And he did, he could get those eyes from everyone and not give a fuck about it, but for some reason, a reason that he didn’t know, or didn’t want to admit, he couldn’t get that look from you.
You stopped and turned to him, you saw worry in him and that was not usual of him, not about the little you knew about him.
“Don’t do it again. Don’t call me that thing. It sounds silly, but…” ‘it brings back bad memories’, you were going to say, but didn’t have the courage.
“I’m never calling you that again. ‘m gonna think about other insults next time.” He tried a joke, and you tried to remain serious, but he could see the corners of your mouth curving a little while you battled against the smile. You hated that people would make you angry, but as soon as they wanted forgiveness, you would laugh or smile, instead of giving them the cold shoulder like normal people would do. Some said you had a good heart, but sometimes you thought you were a fool.
“Ok, Dixon. We’re friends again.” You said offering him your hand. He looked at your hand and thought for a moment. “Come on, shake my hand to seal it. I don’t have the whole day, if you don’t take it right now I’m going to…”
And he took it. He took your right hand in his and you were not expecting to feel this way to a simple handshake. His grip was firm, but comfortable. His hand calloused and warm, engulfed your hand that was so little compared to his. You felt comfort, protection and another feeling that you couldn’t describe, but made you lose your words.
“Ya’re going to what?” He still had a hold in your hand, maybe because you were holding his back and thinking about never letting go of his.
“Don’t matter. It’s done. We sealed our friendship, so I don’t need to threaten you anymore.” Reluctantly you let go of each others hands and continued to descend the hill.
“Oh, was that a threat? You don’t look threatening to me.” He mocked you.
“You better keep your eyes open D.” You answered liking the way his initial felt on your tongue and how it was said so easily. “I may look harmless, but I can be dangerous too.”
“Of course, as dangerous as a Puppy”
“Remember that puppies can bite and scratch.” You said lightly elbowing him.
“My clothes magically appeared clean and folded in my tent. It was you, wasn’t it?” He knew it was you, he just needed a way to talk about it and thank you.
“It was the least I could do…”
“Thank you.”
“It’s no problem D.”
Later that day, after a lot of discussion, was decided that everybody that want would go to CDC early in the morning. You were not sure if there would be anything there when you arrived, but you also knew you couldn’t just stay in the quarry forever, more walkers would come. You couldn’t risk losing more people. You slept in your tent with Luna to keep you company, at 3 in the morning you woke up and couldn’t sleep. You really tried, you were tired, but you were not able to sleep again. You turned around back and fort on your tent, until the sun started to rise.
So you changed your clothes, put everything you had on your bag and left the tent to start disassemble it. The thing was, you didn’t even know how to assemble it, Shane had done everything for you, so now you were having a hard time.
“Do ya wanna some help?” You heard Daryl’s voice by your side and you almost jumped out of your skin. “Sorry, didn’t wanna scare ya.”
“Please, I have no idea what I’m doing.” You confessed shamelessly. In fact he didn’t even waited for your answer to start helping you.
“I realized that from distance, anyone could see ya struggling from miles away.” He joked, but it was not completely a lie, your struggle was very clear.
“Well, Lucky me, you offered help.”
After everything was ready to go, you started to say goodbyes, Morales and his family decided not to follow with you. A stupid decision in your opinion, but there wasn’t anything you could do about.
“Y/N, Carol and Sophia are coming with us. Do you mind going with Shane?” Rick came to you right before living.
“Actually, I’m going with Daryl. I figured it’d be better for Carol and Sophia to go with you.” You answered taking both Rick and Daryl by surprise.
“Are ya?” Daryl didn’t have time to think before the words left his mouth, and then you gave him the look that told him to play along with you. “I offered ya early, but ya never gave me an answer. I thought ya weren’t going with me.”
“Of course I am! Daryl Dixon giving me a ride? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity.” You grabbed your bag to put it in Daryl’s truck, Rick gave you a knowing look. He knew you were avoiding Shane, he just didn’t know why, but he knew you too well to not notice. Also, he saw how Daryl was surprised. “Luna, are you coming with us or do you prefer going with Carl?”
“Nah, she’s coming with us. My offer is only open if she comes with us.” Daryl stated, and you couldn’t resist but laugh.
As soon as you hit the road, Luna was all over the place. She wanted to go for the window and feel the air with her tongue out like any normal dog. She sat on your lap, forgetting she isn’t a lap dog, and you needed to hold her just in case, because she tried a few times going to Daryl’s side and you were not dying by a stupid car accident in the middle of the apocalypse.
“So…why didn’t ya want to go with Shane?” Daryl threw the question at you after Luna had calmed down.
“Cause Luna wanted to go with you.” You gave the excuse shamelessly. He snorted to your lame excuse.
“Bullshit! Spill the real reason, that’s the least I get for playing along with ya.” He took a small glance at you and returned his attention to the road.
“Okay… never took you for one that likes gossip but…” he gave you an annoyed look as if to say ‘just say it’. “I had a fight with him, when you guys went to Atlanta. In front of the whole camp actually.”
“The bruise, in his face, was that ya?” He asked, looking at you for a brief moment, and you nodded in response. “I knew it. Couldn’t be a walker, it looked like something ya would do.”
“How did it look like something I’d do?” Did he take you for the type to go punching people around? Maybe he thought you were kind of a badass? No, not possible.
“The bruise is just the height you’d be able to punch, no way you could hit him on the eye.” Well, none of the options you guessed, he just stated you were short, which you really kind of was. But you couldn’t let it pass like this and gave him a light punch on his arm. “Easy Puppy, I’d rather die fighting zombies than in a car.”
“You just called me short!” you stated as a justification of why you lightly punched his arm.
“And didn’t lied.” He smirked and then put his right hand on Luna’s head for a brief moment. “Why did ya punch him?”
“He lied. He told us Rick was dead.” You answered and Daryl said nothing, probably thinking about what you said. “I mean, any idiot can see if a person is breathing and if the heart is beating.”
“Well, it’s Shane. He’s a different kind of idiot.” What was he probably trying to say? “Maybe, he didn’t knew the difference at the time. I’m not trying to defend him, I don’t like him, you know.”
“I know… it’s just… I’m angry.” You said. Funny, because Daryl had told you the same thing to you, but of course your fight was very silly compared to the reasons behind your quarrel with Shane. “Do you think I should talk to him?”
“Is it going to make ya feel better? If yes, do it.” He didn’t even had to think to say that and he didn’t like Shane at all. That was one of those moments where you saw how good he was, and you wish people would see through his rough demeanor. “Take a picture, it lasts longer.” You didn’t realize you were staring at him for a long time.
“Sorry, I was thinking about what you said.” That was not a complete lie, but not even half of the truth. “But I don’t need a picture if I can look at you everyday.”
You wanted to talk more, but you were tired, your half slept night was charging it’s price. You didn’t know when you slept, but after 2 hours you woke up the car was slowing down until stopping. Luna was laying in your lap awkwardly, half her body was on the car seat and her head was on Daryl’s lap.
“Morning Sleepyhead!” Daryl took a small glance at you.
“Hey… sorry, I didn’t want to sleep, but I was tired.” You ran your hands on Luna’s back. “Why are we stopping?”
“Don’t know, guess it’s a problem with the RV.” He took Luna’s head from his lap and talked to her as to a child, you didn’t even paid attention to what he was saying you just thought that was adorable.
You broke the moment putting a harness on Luna, so you could leave the car. As soon as you left the car your eyes found Shane and you decided to take the opportunity to talk to him.
“D., can you look after Luna for a little while?” You asked him, giving your best puppy eyes, without even noticing.
“Alright Pup, go and do what you need to do.” He said grumply taking the harness. “Go, before I regret it”
“Okay, thanks.” You gave a little smile and left in Shane’s direction.
When Shane saw you walking in his direction, he thought there would come trouble, because any moment you two talked, you would fight. He regretted all the fights, but it was as if he couldn’t control himself, in this world… he couldn’t be soft, gentle or unprepared. He couldn’t also let anything bad happen to the one’s he cared, even if he had to make some sacrifices along the way, and that was what scared him the most. He felt like he was losing his humanity and he didn’t see any other option.
“Shane, can we talk?” You finally approached him, expectations very high and afraid of the outcome.
“I don’t want to fight Y/N…” well, you didn’t want this too, but it didn’t depend only on you.
“Me neither. I just wanna my nice big bro Shane back, you know…” You said, eyes on the mark you had left on his left cheek. “I’m sorry, for the punch.”
“I probably deserved, a cop that can’t tell the difference between the dead and the living…”
“You were probably nervous, I can only imagine the chaos the hospital was and… and you said they were shooting everyone in there, you were probably also afraid.” You said and took his hand in yours. “I’m sorry, I was angry and shouldn’t have reacted like that.”
“I’m sorry, I have been an asshole lately.” He admited.
“Lately?” You mocked him. “Let’s be good again, I don’t punch you anymore and you don’t piss me off. You know, just like you and Rick, I grew up and I don’t need you to protect me from everything. You should be the cool big bro that encourage me to do reckless things that Rick wouldn’t want me to do.”
“Just like… hanging out with Daryl Dixon?” He suggested and he knew he was entering a delicate topic because you already fought before about it.
“Yeah, he’s a good person and my friend. You should encourage me to make other friends, the world went to shit and the people is all we got.” You chewed the inside of your cheeks hoping you would not start fighting again.
“You know, I only act like this, because I don’t want you in the same situation you had with Paul.” He confessed, and in part it was true, you were never the same after Paul, after all the psychological abuse. It took months for you to go back to your normal self, and a german shepherd puppy to make you smile and live again. But on the other hand, it was also his prejudice against the Dixon Brothers.
“I already told you, it’s not like this.”
“I see the way you look at him. It’s the same way you used to look at Jack Jones.” He stated, and you remembered your first crush at school. You never had the courage to tell him what you felt.
“I surely don’t, I’m no teenager and… hey maybe I could have avoided all this situation with Paul if I had told Jack how I felt…” You tried to deny, but you knew that maybe he was right… maybe you had a crush on Daryl. “Just let me live, please Shane? If I die tomorrow, I want to know I lived to the fullest. I don’t expect to find love or anything in a world like this, but I want to be with people I enjoy being with and protect the people I love.”
“Don’t say no sense. You’re not going to die, I’m not letting you die.” He stated. “It’s ok, you can be friends or more than friends with whoever you want, but let me know if anyone hurt you…”
“Thank you Shane.” You hugged him tightly. “And please… let go of Lori, you’ll only hurt you and her. I say it, because we’re family and I love you.”
You left his embrace and you saw the hurt and sadness in his face, maybe a little anger too, but you hope he would not blame you for this and listen to your advice.
“Go to your boyfriend before he comes here and kill me.” Shane played after he saw the way Daryl was looking at the both of you.
“Shut up Shane!” You gave him a punch on his arm before you left.
“By the way, I’m proud of your punchs, you really learned how to beat someone properly.” He kind of yelled at you, and you just laughed. Well they really taught you how to beat someone and how to make it as painful as possible.
After that Shane left with T.Dog to try finding replacement parts for the RV. You go to Daryl and take Luna from him, you could not ask for him to do more than he already did. “Thank you.” You told him.
“ ‘s nothing. It’s always good to pass some time with Luna.” He replied taking a cigarette and lightening it. His curiosity taking the better of him. “Are ya feeling better?”
“Yes, I guess. Things went well. Thank you for the advice.”
Jim was getting worse over the time, you thought he would not make it to the CDC and in truth, you knew nobody survived from a bite, you never saw one single person survive it. Rick was new to all this shit, so he had hope, but you knew Jim would not make it and that nobody could in fact help him.
The RV was fixed, but now you got another problem, Jim was bad and he had decided to stay behind. Rick tried to convince him otherwise, but he had made his choice and you should all respect. It was sad leaving him behind, but you couldn’t stop any more time, you needed to keep going. You entered Daryl’s truck, a heavy silence following the both of you. He started the car, his forehead frowned and the eyes on the road. You could feel he regretted his actions towards Jim.
“You were not completely wrong.” You finally said taking him by surprise. “You just had the wrong approach.”
Silence. Not the comfortable one.
“The most compassionate thing to do in a world like this, would be to not let the people we like turn into one of those…”
“Why?” He asked, eyes on the road, not even giving a glance at you. Your were took by surprise and didn’t know what he meant. “Why are you telling me this?”
“Because this whole situation made me think and… I know you have your own thoughts about it too. We can’t be so radical, but we should think about doing something to not let each other turn.” You wanted to look at him, you wanted to hold his hand, but you couldn’t, you knew you had crossed lines when you told him those things. You didn’t even know if he considered you a friend that could discuss this kind of things and tell when someone is wrong or right.
“Yeah, ya know a lot of shit.” The bitter comment left his mouth seconds after what you said.
“Daryl, if I ever get bit, I want you to end it for me.” You didn’t know what made you say it, but you just ignored his comment and threw this bomb on him. He almost hit the brakes the moment the words left your mouth.
“What the fuck?!” He cursed. “Don’t ask me something like that. Yar not getting bitten.”
“You don’t know.” Seeing Jim like this made you think. You didn’t want to die alone, you didn’t want to turn, you didn’t had the courage to do it yourself and you didn’t want Rick, Shane, Lori or ,in the worst scenario, Carl to do this. “Promise me”
“I ain’t promising you shit!” He didn’t understand why he got so angry at what you said and asked, it should be something normal to ask each other in a damn Zombie apocalypse. But the thought of you getting bitten… it bothered him in more ways that he could admit. “Stop talking no sense. We’re not losing anyone else to those fuckers.”
“I’m sorry.” Apologizing were becoming and habit that you didn’t want to keep, but how could you stop when you were afraid you hurt people.
“Ya don’t need to be.” He answered than he looked at you for some seconds before landing his eyes on the road again.
You decided against opening your mouth again, you pet Luna’s back and stared out of the window. When you were not looking Daryl stared at you for a little longer than what he should while driving. He over reacted, he knew it. He could not be good with his feelings and also short tempered, but he knew when he let it took the best of him. He had already lost Merle, he knew he was alive, but he was alone. Again. That wasn’t the first time Merle let him alone, and he didn’t know how it affected and made Daryl feel. In a world so big like this, maybe they’d never see each other again and he would never know. At the moment, you were the only friend he had. Could he call you a friend? And even though, there was other people that were polite to him, you were the only one that would talk more than 2 words to him. Not that he made a big effort to have a conversation to others, but you seemed to not care his short answers. The thought of you being bitten and he being left alone again, felt as if a giant rock was put on his chest. He didn’t like all this thoughts, but he couldn’t just stop them. His right hand went to Luna’s head that once again was on his lap, and he could not help but grow fond of the dog.
It was almost night when you arrived at the CDC. The place was a cemitery, there were bodies everywhere and some walkers too. You all got our of the cars and went to the entrance of CDC. All was closed, with heavy strong metal doors. You knocked, called, pleaded but there was no answer. Some started to not believe anymore on the possibility of the CDC having someone in there, but you couldn’t stop believing. You were already there, it was getting dark and it was not safe being outside. When you had lost hope, Rick saw the camera moving and you continued asking for help until the big metal door opened and you could see the big iluminated hall inside the building. You filled your lungs with hope and could breath relieved that you would have a place to stay.
Pairing: Daryl Dixon x Reader
REQUEST INFO || TWD MASTERLIST
Shane had been bugging you a lot more than either you or Daryl cared for since Lori's husband made it back into the picture. He had never been close with you, but since you were the only conveniently attractive person in the group and he assumed wasn't spoken for. He was following you around like a dog in heat. It made Daryl sick, but he kept his distance anytime he saw it. He knew you could take care of yourself, and the both of you weren't really even in an official relationship. Merle would say that the two of you were, and Carol would ask you about Daryl, but each of you denied it. It wasn't like that. Sure, there were feelings, but neither of you would admit to them. Not now anyways, not when neither of you knew how to even begin to skim the surface of those feelings. Feelings that Daryl didn't even know he could feel for another person.
You had always been so sweet with him. Since the moment that he found you and laid eyes on you, you were treating him with this kindness that he never knew existed. Your voice was soft, and so were your eyes. God, he swore he could look into your eyes forever. Watch the way the corners of them creased when you smiled at him from across the camp. He was always quick to look away when you caught him staring, though. Bashful eyes darting to the ground or back to whatever he was working on.
He always hated the way his brother would smirk anytime he saw the way Daryl looked at you. "Ya know, starin' ain't gon' get ya laid." Merle would quip, and it would piss Daryl off to no end.
It wasn't sex that he wanted. He just wanted you to be with him. To be by his side and for him to be the one who kept you out of harm's way. Not for you to be with someone like Shane Walsh. Who stared at you with this look that made Daryl want to scoop his eyes out with his knife. He had no right looking at you that way, no one did.
He promised himself that he wouldn't get involved with whatever it was Shane was trying to get out of you. Daryl could tell that you had no interest in the man. He swore that he would have given up by now, but Shane was stubborn. Much to Daryl's disapproval.
He was following you. Shane had watched you head into the woods so he took it as an opportunity to sneak up on you. Maybe convince you that he was good enough for you, but little did Shane know. You were meeting Daryl out there. Out in woods that Daryl knew like the back of his head, even if they weren't the ones that he grew up in.
"The hell are ya doin'?" Daryl snapped, holding his crossbow up before Shane could get any closer to you. You turned when you heard his voice, a frown settling on your lips when you thought he was snarling at you. When you saw Shane a panic settled within you that had your stomach turning with nausea.
"Shane, what are you doing?" You second Daryls' question. Worried eyes traced over the man's face. Why the hell was he following you out here?
His chuckle made Daryl want to end it all. He had half an urge to pull the trigger of his bow and watch an arrow lodge into the base of his skull, but he didn't do that. He just waited, growing more and more impatient by the minute. "I was just seein' what they was doin' out here all alone. Jus' worried. I assume yer out here for that reason too?" Shane spoke, turning to look over his shoulder at Daryl as he asked the question. Daryl scoffed, "No, they're meetin' me out here. Been teachin' them how to use my bow and how to fight 'cause they don't feel safe." Daryl's voice was sour, yet the way he'd glance over at you here and there made you feel safe. Like you knew he wouldn't let anything happen to you. He never would, and you knew that.
Shane looked at you with this concerned look in his eye, and this time you were the one to scowl. "Is someone makin' ya uneasy?" He asked, and you shifted from foot to foot. Raising your arms to cross them over your chest. "Yeah, it's you, ya dipshit," Daryl snapped, and Shane shook his head.
"The hell did I do?" Shane asked in defense. "You never leave me alone! You're always bugging me, and making gross remarks! Hell, you followed me out here and didn't say anything until, well. I didn't even know you were behind me until Daryl said something! You followed me clear out here without saying a word. What the hell were you going to do to me out here?" You asked, and the tears that brimmed your eyes made Daryl's face soften as he looked at you.
He wanted to pull you close, but he couldn't. Not yet, anyway. You were both dealing with Shane. His chest tightened at the fact that you were in near tears because you were scared. His eyes bored into Shane's skull again with flaring nostrils.
When Shane opened his mouth to speak, he closed it again with a glare. "Whatever, ain't gonna catch me tryna be nice again," he snarled and Daryl glared. "Good, they don't need ya anyways," he snarled, and Shane stormed off back to camp.
"Hope he gets bit," Daryl muttered under his breath, and you gasped. You walked up and shoved his shoulder with a small smile. Daryl looked over at you with furrowed brows. "What?" He asked, and you shook your head, smile only widening as he acted completely oblivious to what he just said out loud.
"Daryl Dixon, you can't just say that about people." You told him, and he sighed. Placing his bow back over his shoulder as he turned to face you. "Well, maybe people shouldn' try and hurt ya." He told you, his voice soft, and you swear he's never said anything so nice towards you.
You smiled gently up at him, this glint in your eyes that he swore made them sparkle, "Thank you," he hummed in response, "I mean it, Daryl," you told him when you noticed how he looked to the side. Like he didn't deserve the gratitude. He'd do anything to keep you safe. You didn't have to thank him for it. His eyes were locked with yours again when your hands came to rest on his shoulders. "I mean it, you goober," you told him with a lopsided grin, and he swears he's never seen anything cuter.
Daryl couldn't help but roll his eyes with a sigh at the nickname, but he didn't dare pull away. Not yet, not ever. "Why d'ya call me that?" He asked, his voice sounding a lot more curious than he would have liked to tell. "Cause, you're a goober," He scrunched his nose with furrowed brows. "I ain't even know what a 'goober' is," He added, and you chuckled, your hands sliding down to rest on his chest that made him take in a sharp breath.
He felt his body relax under your touch, but it wasn't long before he felt his muscles tense again when you both fell quiet. His eyes danced in yours and he felt so... Normal. As if for once, he was experiencing a situation that normal people experienced. Something sweet and innocent.
He cleared his throat after a moment though. Shrugging off your touch before motioning for you to follow him with his head. Pulling his compact bow back into his hands. "Come on, best work soon before the sun gets too low." He muttered, and you nodded.
Daryl didn't know how you did it. You were strong throughout everything you did, mentally and physically, yet you were always so sweet and kind. Especially towards him. You looked at him with these eyes that had his heart thumping in his ears. Pounding away like a drum that he just could not silence. You were something else to the man that watched as you cheered after finally making the target he set up for you. The arrow speared the box right where you wanted it to. His lips tugged up into a faint curl at your shouts and cheers, you were adorable. He'd never admit that he thought that, though. Not now, anyways.
When you came prancing over to him with that compact bow in your arms he had to purse his lips to hide the smile that threatened to bare. "Ya did good," he praised, and that only made you smile more. "Really?" "Yeah, ya might have a better aim than me someday," he quipped and you snickered back. Shoving his shoulder while handing the bow back.
He watched as you looked up at the canopy of trees above the both of you. The way your skin seemed to glow with the rays of sun that kissed your skin. You were like an angel to him. He only wished he could tell you that.
"Think we should head back," you murmured and he swore you looked and even sounded a little disappointed at your words. "Yeah?" He asked, and you nodded. "Yeah, it's getting late." You added, and he noticed the sigh you let out while you dipped your head down to watch your feet. You scuffed your foot against the ground and he frowned a little.
"We can come back out tomorrow, this ain't gotta be a one-time deal." He told you with a small tilt of his head. You looked back up with hopeful eyes and that damned smile that made his heart leap. "Really?" He nodded, "'Course." He told you, and the both of you fell silent once more. Staring at each other with adoring eyes before he motioned back for the camp. His own eyes darted up to look at the orange glow of the sky. "Come on, we gotta get back," and you nodded, trailing beside the hunter as you both made your way back to the camp.
You felt so hungry as you strolled beside the man. Your stomach cramping a little at the lack of food, and Daryl noticed the look on your face. He had no idea what it meant, but he could tell something was going on. He could always tell when something was going on with you.
"What's wrong?" He asked, and you looked up.
You almost couldn't tear your eyes away from him. The way the sun cast over his sun-kissed skin. His piercing blue eyes that you swear locked you in a trance anytime you looked up at them. "I'm just hungry," you mumbled, before tearing your eyes from him to look back forward, and he nodded. He'd keep that noted for when you both made it back to camp. He was sure everyone had already eaten, but he wouldn't deal with you going hungry.
When you both made it back, he was right, too. Everyone had eaten and they were all doing their own things. Shane was in the corner, staring at each of you the moment you both walked into view. Daryl caught his gaze and glared. He wasn't about to let some asshole hurt you all because he wanted some ass. You were worth more than that, you deserved more than just that.
Daryl stayed close to you. Tapping your shoulder in order to get your attention. Watching as you turned your head to look over at him. "What's up?" You asked, and he motioned to the fire. "Could warm ya up some stew," he offered, referring to the leftover vegetable stew from earlier at lunch, and you smiled so sweetly up at the man. You swore he was the kindest man to ever grace the earth, even if he was so terribly reserved and quiet.
"I'd like that," you spoke, and he nodded before heading for the fire and you followed close behind him.
He felt his breath hitch when you sat a little too close to him. It wasn't that he minded, and he didn't dare move away from you after he got the fire started up again and the food on the wire to heat up. The both of you were quiet, and Daryl had such a love-hate relationship with the silence. He wanted to hear your voice. To know what was going on in that head of yours, but he also couldn't be bothered to break the silence. It was nice being able to sit beside you when you seemed so content and relaxed. Like you didn't care that neither of you said anything while you both stared at the flames that danced before you both.
When you shuddered beside him, he looked over with worried eyes. "Ya good?" he blurted, and you could hear the worry that dripped from his words. You nodded with a chuckle. "Just a little cold. Dreading sleeping alone tonight," you admitted, and he noticed how you peaked behind the both of you to where Shane was sitting earlier. The way you wrung your hands out of anxiety. His jaw clenched at just the thought of you being scared about sleeping alone, and before he could think, he was speaking. "Ya could sleep in my tent. I don' mind. Better than sleepin' alone, if ya wan' to." He told you, and your eyes met his once again. He was always so gentle with his words, and so private with his life. You knew that what he was offering was genuine, and from the look in his eyes. He had nothing but the purest intentions. You didn't have to look at him to know he was just offering to keep you company. He was a good man, and you knew that.
You smiled, ducking your head down again to look at your hands, and he chewed on the pillow of his bottom lip. He was terrified that he might have said the wrong thing. Bringing his thumb up to his lips to chew on his nail while he waited anxiously for your reply. "I couldn't, Daryl," his brows furrowed, demanding a further explanation. "I wouldn't want to invade your space," you told him, and he shook his head. "Ain't invadin' it if I offered it to ya." His voice was a little lower this time. Soft and almost bashful. You looked back up to meet his gaze, and you both stared for a moment. Before he finally pulled his eyes from you to look at the food. Reaching with the towel that was sitting on a stump near the fire to grab the container.
Daryl offered up the food with a grunt, and you took it with a soft 'thank you.'
Daryl wasn't going to eat, but when you would offer him some of your food, he took it. Only because of the pout at your lip and that look in your eyes that he just couldn't say no to. Taking the spoon from your hand to take a few bites before handing it back. His stomach flipped at the sight of your smile when he ate with you. If all he had to do to get you to smile was eat with you, he'd definitely be doing it more often.
Once that bit of food was gone and you were both content and as full as you were each going to get. He was leading you back to his tent. His body was close, but he didn't touch you. Nor did you touch him. No matter how much you each wanted to grab one another's hand, you each assumed the other would be disgusted by the behavior.
Daryl unzipped the tent and allowed you to climb in, following after you with a grunt. Plopping himself onto the blankets that he had scattered about the tent. "Did I need'a grab yer blankets?" He asked, and you nodded "I can go," but before you could even finish he was backing out of the tent. Heading for your tent across the camp. Unzipping it while scooping the fabric up into his arms. Closing it before returning to you inside his own. Tossing them on the floor of the living space before he crawled inside again.
It was a three-person tent, and with how broad-shouldered Daryl was, you were certain it'd be super close-quartered. You were right. You were each practically laid right next to one another after you both got your sleeping areas arranged. Daryl took the spot closest to the entrance, and you couldn't help but wonder if he did that as a way to keep you safe. Smiling faintly at the idea while shifting in the blankets that you had snug around you. Your body faced the hunter while he lay on his back. "Night, Dar'," you yawned, allowing your eyes to fall shut, and he whispered a soft goodnight in response.
Daryl swore he hadn't slept that well in ages. Sure, you weren't touching him, nor was he touching you. Anytime you'd roll too close to him he'd gently push you away. He didn't want you to wake up and regret taking up the offer of sleeping in the same tent as him, but he still slept so well. He felt relaxed, and having you near him was the best feeling in the world. Now he knew you were safe as you slept, without wondering while you were clear across the camp from him. Here with you by his side he felt the happiest he had in ages, and he didn't want you to get too far from him again.
----
At The Greene Farm, it was t same way. After that night you both seemed to enjoy the company so much that you both just agreed to sleep in the tent even after you all had to flee the Quarry.
Slowly, but surely, Daryl worked up the confidence to actually hold you in his arms when you did roll against him. Some nights he couldn't take it. You'd rub up against him and he'd feel a familiar tightness in his pants that made him blush. He'd push you away and turn his back to you. Hoping and praying that his hard-on wouldn't haunt him for much longer. Doing everything in his power to think of anything besides how good you feel pressed against him. Some nights he has to leave the tent and walk a bit to get his mind off you before returning back to your shared quarters.
A week into staying with the family that so graciously took you all in after the incident with Carl. Carol was asking you questions. "So, you and Daryl?" She'd ask with a smirk while you helped her hang clothes and you'd feel your skin burn. "What about us?" You'd play dumb, but she'd only give you a knowing smirk while your hands grew clammy.
"Oh come on, you've been sleeping in the same tent. He's been following you around like a lost puppy since he found you, I'm shocked he isn't here now." She spoke, looking around both of you to ensure he wasn't lingering and watching you. "Is something going on between you two?" She asked, and you wet your lips with a sigh. "I uh... I don't know, actually." You'd mutter, and she pursed her lips with a sigh. "Well, I know he likes you. He doesn't act that way with anyone else. He cares, I see it." She sighed, staring off with a soft smile. "You're lucky to have a guy like him Carin' about ya." You nodded with a soft chuckle. "Yeah, just wished he wasn't so awkward. I try and cuddle with him at night, and sometimes he pushes me away and I have to pretend to still be asleep. Or I get too close while we're sitting and he shifts away... He's so hard to read sometimes." Carol giggled at your words.
It was cute, really, and she loved hearing all about it. "He's just shy, just gotta grab his hand and tell him how it is. It's the only way he'd get it without worrying about scaring you." You nodded, maybe she was right.
You still didn't do that though. Every time you wanted to grab him and pull him in for a kiss, or a hug, or just tell him how it was. You got hit with this wave of dread and anxiety that he didn't feel the same. That maybe you were just someone he chose to protect because he happened to stumble upon you all those months ago. Plus, anytime you'd push those bad thoughts away and the courage to ask him would surge through you, something would seem to happen.
The one day you thought you'd finally tell him was the day that Glenn came up to all of you with the news. So you dropped Daryl's hand and told him it could wait while the both of you exit your tent. He felt his heart leaping into his throat at just the fact you grabbed his hand. He didn't want you to let go, and he hated Glenn for interrupting the moment between you both, but he hated the news Glenn brought even more. The news of Walkers that were being stored in the barn, and Daryl's heart raced at the thought.
So many questions ran through his head as to why they were in there. Was it because they got trapped? Was it purposeful? Was it to feed you all to them? The possibilities were endless; Daryl didn't like any of them.
You tried to stop Daryl, but he was on a war path with Shane, and you hated that he was following him. You agreed with Dale that it was none of your guys' business. "We're lucky we're even here," you'd tell Daryl to try and get him to stop and think about what he was doing. "We're lucky they ain't feedin' us to 'em!" Daryl hissed at you, and he hated the way you flinched back. The look you gave him made his heart clench, but he was damn too stubborn to say anything to comfort you and assure you that he didn't mean his harsh tone. He only pushed past you to head for that barn where they were met with Rick bringing one of those things back with Hershel.
A fight broke out, but you stayed back. Even with Daryl in the midst of it, you stayed beside Carol. Holding your arms across your chest as you watched Shane run up to the lock with bolt cutters. You didn't know how to react, and you couldn't. This all felt unreal and you could sense the hurt within the family. Maggie held Beth while they both cried out. Hershel begged Shane and the others to stop what they were doing.
"They're people!"
"They're dead!"
If it weren't for Carols' scream you would have turned and walked away from the scene, but when she shouted and cried, your eyes looked beyond the crowd to see the little girl that drug her feet out from that barn.
"Sophia!" She screamed and your eyes brimmed with tears. Your heart tightened as you stared at the little girl you grew so fond of. She was so sweet and so innocent. A hand raced to your mouth, but it was quick to drop and reach out for Carol. Holding her back as she tried to run after the girl that snarled and groaned.
"My baby! That's my baby! Let me go, please!" She cried out, trying her best to reach out for the girl, but finally giving up against you. "That's my baby, please," she repeated, and you looked over your shoulder to Daryl with a sympathetic glance. He did what he had to do.
After that, nothing felt the same between the two of you. You wanted to be close to him, but he was pulling away from everyone and you could tell. He was cold and hanging out alone more and more, but you wouldn't allow him to push you away. You never would, and he hated it. he hated that you were stubborn and that for some reason you seemed to care about him. He hated that he was stubborn and that he couldn't communicate with you the way he wanted to. Anytime you approached him he would scream and shout, telling you to leave him alone, and you would for a little while, but you were always right back when he was calmed down.
"It wasn't your fault, Daryl," you'd tell him, and he'd scoff. "Ain't never said it was," you frowned with a sigh. Sitting beside him on the ground. "But you think it." He didn't answer, he only turned away from you and you sighed. "I'm not giving up on you, Daryl Dixon," you spoke, and he glanced at you for a moment. "Yeah? Well, ya should." He sneered, and you scrunched your nose with distaste. "You ever tell me what to do again Daryl and I swear." You sighed, and he shook his head.
His knees were brought up to his chest. Picking at the skin around his fingernails with a dry laugh. "What, ya gon' beat me?" He asked, and he had this sourness to his voice that made your head jerk in his direction.
You were at a loss for words when he said this to you, and he regretted that he even opened his big mouth. You were briefly aware of the abuse that he went through, but the fact he would even joke about you doing such a thing to him made your stomach turn with disgust.
"Why would you even say such a thing?" You asked, and he glanced over at you with pursed lips. "'S jus' a joke," he sneered, and you shook your head, turning in your seat to face him more. "Daryl," you snapped, and he kept his gaze down. Too scared to meet your eyes. "Daryl, look at me," you said a little more stern. Yet, your voice was still mellow with him. You showed that you cared with your tone, and he only looked up when you touched his shoulder. His eyes going to your hand.It made his heart race and this unfamiliar tingle shot through his body. Then his eyes were on yours. Staring.
"I would never hurt you," you told him, and he believed you. He knew you would never even dream of hurting him, but he couldn't help the idea that everyone he knew would hurt him in one way or another. "I know," he spoke, and you nodded. "Are you sure? Because I don't want you even joking that I would hurt you," you spoke, and your voice was so gentle and soft again. He hated how kind you were to him, sometimes.
You tested the waters, reaching up to brush some of the hair from his forehead, and his eyes fluttered shut for a second at your touch. "'M sure," he mumbled, and you smiled, caressing the side of his face. His eyes stared up at you as you kneeled beside him. He had this urge to pull you into his lap and kiss you. A kiss that he had wanted since before you started sleeping in his tent with him, but he didn't. He just turned his head from you and started standing to his feet. "Come on, 's gettin' late." He murmured, and he hated himself for not pressing his lips against yours.
He pulled you to your feet, though. Offering his hand for you which you gladly took, and when you didn't let go. He didn't pull away. He let you hold his hand while walking you back to the tents. He'd never understand how or why you were so patient with him. "I ain't ever gon' hurt ya either, ya know that? 'M sorry for being' an ass." Daryl spoke, and you smiled. Giving his hand a light squeeze. "I know, Daryl. I forgive you." You told him, and he nodded, thankful that you trusted him.
Once back to camp though, he didn't even bother to look at anyone. He was too mad at Shane and the others for what they drug them into. He was mad at Glenn, Dale, and Rick for not telling any of you guys sooner. He was mad at the Greenes for hiding such a thing. Most of all, he was ashamed. He couldn't look Carol in the eyes without feeling like he failed her. He promised her that he would find her little girl. He just didn't think she would be found like this. Grey, glossed-over eyes and skin that was rotting away. That was no way for a mother to find her daughter.
He pulled you closer, his hand tightening around yours while he pulled you into that tent that you both still shared. You could feel the panic surging through his body and you were quick to pull the door of the tent closed before his hands were on your waist. The action was far from what you were expecting, but you allowed him to pull you close. His breathing was ragged, and from the brief glance you saw of his eyes. You could tell he was panicking.
Your touch was enough to ease him for a little while. Your hands caressed the back of his head while he buried his face into your chest. A soft cry slipped past his lips, and it made your heartstrings tug while you pulled him a little closer and he did the same to you.
"Daryl, it's okay, I'm here, just lay down." You told him, and he nodded. The man laying on his back while he pulled you on top of himself. The weight of your body on him made him feel grounded. Like maybe he was safe and everything was alright. You always made him feel like maybe one day the world would be sane again.
"Daryl, you did everything you could," you told him, rubbing soft circles on his chest with your hand. His eyes were clenched shut, and all he could do was nod while you assured him. "You were so strong, stronger than any of us going out there. Carol may not show it, but she does appreciate your efforts. She's just grieving." "Because I didn't find her little girl sooner," He rasped, and you frowned.
He became too aware of the fact that you were on top of him when you shifted so you could sit properly on his stomach. His hands resting beside himself on the ground, too scared that if he'd touch you you'd disappear. "Daryl," you said his name so sweetly. He was practically a puddle beneath you when you reached out to cup the sides of his face with your hands. "You did everything you could. You looked out for that little girl more than her daddy ever did. That, Daryl, is something none of us will ever forget." You told him.
His eyes fluttered shut once more when you leaned down to press a kiss to his forehead, and then one on each cheek. A shaky breath left his nostrils. He never thought he would ever be in this position. Your body weighing him down while you whispered such sweet things to him. Sweet things that were meant for him and only him. It made his heart swell with emotions that he swore he never experienced before. The warmth you always gave him was damn near overwhelming, but he loved it. He loved every word of praise you gave him and he ate up all the affection you showered him with like it was candy. Every kind thing you said to him, Daryl never forgot it.
"Do you understand me, Goober?" You asked with that soft smile, and he looked up to meet your gaze. His eyes softened as they met yours. "Yeah, I understand, goofball," he replied, causing the both of you to snicker lightly before you laid down on him again. He expected you to roll off and go back to where you always laid beside him, but he was mistaken. His hands stayed stiffly beside him until you reached down to grab them and pull them around you. He had to say, he liked the feeling of you on top of him while he held you close.
"Night, Daryl," you cooed, pressing a kiss to his chest that had him melting beneath you. All he could do was grunt in response. His arms tightened a little around you before he felt your body relax into his. Practically molding into one.
It took him a while longer to fall asleep that night. All he could think of was how lucky he was to have met you. In a way, he thanked the apocalypse for even happening. Without it, he would have never met you.
-----
Months went by. Nearly a full year and Daryl was still fighting with these feelings that the had for you. They were so pent up and it was killing him. You each shared a cell in the prison. You on the top bunk and he on the bottom bunk so if anything happened he'd be the first to be able to react. Half the nights you didn't even sleep up there. You were always on that bottom bunk. His arms wrapped snugly around your waist while his face was buried in the nape of your neck.
He'd wake up every morning next to you and he'd kiss your forehead when he thought you were still asleep, but you were always awake the moment he started stirring beside you. It was the apocalypse, you had to be a light sleeper anymore. "Mornin," you'd mumble only when he'd start climbing out of bed, and he would smile hearing your voice. Greeting you with a soft chuckle at how groggy you always looked in the mornings. "'Morning," he'd gruff, and you'd smile in return. Tired and lazy, but he still loved that damn smile of yours.
It was like you were both already together without saying anything. An unspoken love between you each. You'd hold each other's hands as you walked side by side. He'd let you hug him, and he'd hold you when you were cold or upset. He'd let you hold him when he needed comfort. Then the glances. The lingering looks when you were both doing something else and you'd spot each other in the same room. Soft smiles and little waves. it drove him mad, and he just wished he could convince himself that you wouldn't run away if he pulled you in for a kiss.
It took another man talking to you for him to finally realize that he needed to act now. One of the prisoners they found, he didn't know his name. Didn't care to know it either. He was smirking at you and looking you over like you were a piece of candy. It was Shane all over again, but this guy was worse. Daryl could tell he was in Prison for a reason, and when he reached out to try and touch you. The hunter was quick to react.
His hand reached out to grab the other man. Twisting with such force that had him screaming and shouting. He hit Daryl with his other hand to try and break free, but it was no use. Nothing could get him to let go.
"I ever catch ya touchin' 'em again. So much as lookin' at 'em. I'm breakin' your hand, one fuckin' finger at a time, and then I'm feedin' ya each joint like the dog ya are," He roared. Grabbing the man's thumb and yanking it back until it snapped. A snap that made everyone flinch with a cringe.
The bone was broken, and Daryl knew what he did. Watching as the other man crumbled. Daryl shoved him away with a look that could kill. He didn't care that he broke that man's thumb, if anything he should feel lucky it was just his thumb he broke. Daryl could have done so much more to him. Snapped all five of his fingers off. Broke his arm, and kicked his knee in. Broke his legs and threw him out for the walkers. The possibilities were endless and each and every one of those ideas was flashing behind his piercing blue eyes.
"You broke my fucking thumb!" The man screamed, and Daryl didn't react, he just glared. "Keep your fuckin' whore!" He shouted and Daryl was stomping his way again. Both Rick and Glenn had to grab at his arms to pull him away from the man. "Don't ya talk about 'em like that!" Daryl screamed, thrashing around in the other two men's arms to try and break free.
It took you coming over, reaching up to grab the sides of his face for him to finally calm down. "Daryl, Dar', hun, look at me," you called out, his nostrils still flaring out of anger, but he drug his eyes away from the man to look at you. Your eyes that were full of worry - but it wasn't for anyone else but him. It made him feel so special, like all you ever cared about was him. A man who believed he deserved no such thing.
"I couldn' let him hurt ya," he told you, and you nodded. You smiled up at him, and his hands found purchase at your hips while Rick dragged the guy away to give him a talking of his own. "I know, and I'm lucky to have you guarding me," you told him, leaning up to press your lips to his cheek, and his hands squeezed at your side. "My guardian angel," you cooed.
His breath came out rigid before his eyes fell shut. The few times you kissed his cheek he always reacted so bashfully and shy, but right now it felt so different. Like he needed to act, and act fast. Before the moment that he could finally express how he felt was gone, and like you read his mind. You were prying his hands off your hips so you could take one in your own and lead him back to your shared cell.
You felt his hand squeeze yours, and his gaze that was glued to the back of your head. "Come on, let's go lay down," you spoke, and your voice was so honey-sweet and hypnotizing that you could tell him to climb to the top of the prison and jump and he would. He wanted to lay down and bury his face into you. He wanted to forget about all the worries he ever had or experienced and just be surrounded by you. Your voice, your touch, your scent. So, once in that cell block. He was letting you pull him onto that small cot. The both of you laying on your sides while staring back at each other.
You looked at him with these eyes that made his heart flutter in his chest, and he swore if his brother was here now. He'd tell him with a laugh about just how 'soft' Daryl Dixon had become. Soft for someone who he hadn't even kissed. Someone that he wanted to kiss so bad that it physically hurt.
Your fingers ran up his chest, and he held his breath for a moment. A hand resting cautiously on your side. Rubbing it up and down while blue eyes stared back into yours. "Daryl," he hummed in response, watching you close like every word you said was important. Because to him, it was all important. Every word you said to him was diamond and gold. You were truly a flower in the rough and he would protect you from all the rough in the world. Not a petal on you would ever wilt or be ripped off so long as he was watching over you.
"I love you." He held his breath again, his eyes wide as he stared back at you. He had no clue what to say, or even how to react to what you said. You loved him? You had to have said the wrong thing, why would anyone love Daryl Dixon?
All he could do was look at you with eyes that screamed he loved you back, but he had no clue how to say it. It was four simple words. 'I love you, too.' Yet, he couldn't form the words on his tongue. He hated the way you pulled your hand away from him. The look on your face that looked like you were just terrified that you had said the wrong thing, so he acted. Just as fast as he did when that prisoner tried to pull you against him.
His hand squeezed your side and his head leaned forward in order to close the gap between the both of you. His lips pressed against your own, and he let out a sigh of relief when he finally got to feel what your lips felt like against his own. it was soft at first - hesitant even. All until you grabbed the sides of his face with such desperation. He was quick to deepen it. His hand raced from your side to the back of your head to pull you close with need and hunger.
He had craved this moment for ages. He wanted to experience it a lot sooner than now, but now was better than never. His lips pushed so needily against your own, and he felt like his heart could Burt out of his chest at any moment with the force it was thumping beneath his chest. His lips moved with rhythm and passion that he didn't even know he had within himself.
His body was quick to move, too. Rolling on top of you so his other arm could rest beside your head. It wasn't until you both couldn't breathe that he finally pulled away from the kiss. Even if he wanted to kiss you until his vision was going blurry. He craved you so much that it wasn't even funny.
Each of you were panting, trying so hard to catch your breath while he stayed positioned above you. Now... Now he could say it. Those four words that he knew how to say back now. He had this sheepish look in his eyes as they darted around before finally landing back on yours. As if he didn't just kiss you with such desire and desperation. As if he wasn't hovering above you with sinful ideas that flashed behind his eyes at just the sight of you lying beneath him with slightly plumper lips and blown pupils. Those were thoughts for later though, not now. Not when he needed to tell you how much he loved you back.
"I love you too," and his voice was even more timid than his eyes. Which bounced back and forth between your own, and you smiled. It was so big, and he swore his chest ripped open with how in awe he was of that smile he caused.
"Been wanting to kiss you for ages, Daryl," he chuckled at that. It was ironic, almost. His head dipped down to kiss you once more. Parting his lips to bite at your lower lip and tug. Smirking at the shocked noise that slipped past your lips in response. "Been wantin' t'kiss ya since the Quarry," He murmured, pressing his lips to yours once, twice, three more times. Eager to make up for all the kisses you both could have shared if he wasn't such a scared fool.
Daryl pulled back again, though. His head lowering to hover his lips above your jaw. Pressing a languid kiss to the corner of it with a sigh. "Been waiting' too damn long to finally do all this," He told you, and you giggled in response. A noise that had his heart fluttering like a zoo of butterflies had erupted inside his chest.
"Well, Daryl, we have all the time in the world to do whatever we want now." You spoke, and he smirked at that. He raised his brows while leaning back up to kiss the corner of your lips. "Good, 'cause I ain't lettin' ya go anytime soon, Darlin'." He told you quite matter-of-factly. Causing you both to laugh a little while he moved back to his side and pulled you close.
It was a true fact, of course. Daryl never lied to you, and now he definitely wasn't. Because Daryl wasn't one to share, he wasn't one to give up what he loved, and he sure as hell wouldn't share you nor give you up. Even if he was offered a cure for whatever was causing this zombie outbreak. He'd never risk losing you for a cure to save the world unless he was promised you'd survive. You were his world, and call him selfish, but a world without you by his side. Was a world Daryl was never willing to even imagine living in. You were the one who saved him from losing it all back at the Quarry after he lost Merle. Even back at the farm when Sophia was found dead. You were his light at the end of the dark and damp tunnel he was running through and he wasn't about to give you up for anything.
No Heaven, Only Trouble
"We can’t do this!" Delilah dropped into a chair by the campfire. "As much as I find it disturbing, it's not our place, nor our decision to make."
The group fell into silence. Some agreed with the young girl, others did not. Hours had passed since they discovered the barn, and the peace they'd briefly found had vanished into thin air. Lori held Carl close, staring at the flames dancing before her eyes.
She looked up to meet her eldest daughter’s gaze, stifling a sigh when she found nothing in them. She was worried about Delilah—worried because the once vibrant teenager, full of life and promise, had lost her spark, her expression now empty and blank.
But what she hated the most was that, due to wrong choices, the mother-daughter bond was lost forever. She could no longer comfort her. Delilah pushed her away.
Carl was the only one who still seemed to love her unconditionally. Lori fought back tears, closing her eyes and resting her head on Carl's, gently stroking his back while the group resumed their heated debate.
"We’re not safe! We have to do something, or those doors will give way, and in the middle of the night, we’ll be torn apart by the dead."
Delilah’s patience was wearing thin. Lately, she felt like she was losing her mind. "Shane, does anything I say go in one ear and out the other? Damn it! We can’t just do whatever the hell we want, especially when Hershel wants us out of here as soon as possible!"
Shane turned to her, furious. "You have no right to make decisions, kid. These are adult matters! You can’t understand what’s best for the group. If we followed your idea, we'd all be dead by tomorrow morning!"
"Stop!" Dale stood up, stepping between them. "There’s no need to get worked up. We have to stay united," he sighed, taking off his hat and running a hand through what little hair remained.
Shane, still furious, sat down on one of the logs. The silence that settled over the group only made Delilah more anxious. She glanced around, trying to calm herself. She knew that snapping back at Shane, especially in his current state, wouldn’t lead to anything productive, so she bit her tongue, forcing herself to think about something else.
She reached out to stroke Orion, who was sleeping next to her chair.
After a long silence, Rick stood up and headed toward the house. No one asked him what he was going to do; instead, they all remained in their places as if any movement might spell disaster.
Delilah fixated on the flames, watching their mesmerizing dance. If she concentrated hard enough, she could make out shapes moving hypnotically within the fire.
And that’s how she fell asleep—watching the figures dance in the flames, while Orion curled up on her lap, shielding her from the early November chill. The days had grown short, colder, and the group's concern was how they'd keep warm if Hershel refused to let them into the house.
"What the hell are you doing?" Delilah jolted awake, jumping out of her chair. The sudden movement sent sharp pain through her stiff muscles. The brief peace and tranquility she'd enjoyed while half-asleep vanished as the surrounding noise rushed back to her all at once.
Orion, still sounding like a puppy, began barking at the distant commotion and his owner’s sudden movement. Delilah looked around, confused, until she spotted her group rushing toward the barn in the distance, beyond the fence.
What she saw next confused her even more. "What the hell..." She shook off her drowsiness and sprinted toward the group, now gathered in front of a chilling scene that sent a shiver down her spine.
Her father was leading a walker on a leash.
She couldn't hear the conversation yet, still too far away, with Orion following closely behind her. Her heart pounded wildly as she saw Shane pull out a gun and shoot the walker her father was leading, right in the head.
Delilah froze in her tracks, watching the scene unfold before her eyes.
The cold, dry November air clung to her skin, her breath quick and shallow as she watched an old family friend open the barn doors, releasing a small herd of walkers into the open.
Shane was the first to open fire. Moments later, Andrea grabbed a rifle, and a few others followed suit, taking the same initiative to finally put down those who the Greene family had once considered part of them.
Delilah wanted to feel something—anything—when Beth’s screams pierced the air, or when she saw the blonde girl lay down beside the body she believed to be her mother, clinging to the last shred of hope that these people could somehow return to who they once were.
But what made Delilah’s breath catch wasn’t Beth’s cries or the moment the body beside her tried to bite her. It was when the entire group’s attention snapped back toward the barn doors.
She wanted to join them, to cross the fence and hear what they were saying, to better understand what was happening. She bent down to scoop up Orion when he began whimpering and trembling, holding him tightly in her arms as another wail of despair cut through the air.
This time, it was Carol who collapsed to the ground, falling to her knees, supported by Lori. The group blocked Delilah’s view, preventing her from seeing what had caused such a reaction in the woman who was already so broken by life.
But maybe it was something Delilah didn’t want to see.
The apocalypse had changed her, just as it had changed everyone. It had hardened her, made her more pessimistic, perhaps even more indifferent than she’d been before the world fell apart. Yet, when she saw the fragile figure emerge from the barn, she felt a sharp pain in her chest.
Sophia, or what remained of her, limped out of the half-open door. The once youthful, terrified face had been reduced to decaying flesh, slowly rotting away.
Delilah didn’t want to imagine what the scene looked like up close because, even from this distance, she could see how badly the young girl had deteriorated. Carol’s sobs grew louder, not stopping until Delilah’s father, after glancing around for a moment, approached Sophia and placed the barrel of his gun to the back of her head.
A single gunshot echoed across the field, startling Orion in her arms.
When Delilah saw Carol break free from Lori’s embrace and rush to her daughter’s lifeless body, she turned away, heading back to her small spot by the fire, unable to watch the heartbreaking scene of a mother grieving over her child.
Lately, Delilah’s coping mechanism seemed to be avoidance. She no longer asked questions or involved herself in conversations, especially after her last argument with Shane. As the days went by, she spoke less and less, often spending entire days in the company of Orion, and occasionally, Carl.
Carl. Delilah had noticed his change too—a preteen forced to survive in a world like this for months. What worried her wasn’t that he was in danger—she knew Carl was tough—but that he might be shutting down emotionally, just like she was.
Since Sophia's official death, Carl had become cold toward everyone. He no longer spoke to Shane and avoided his presence altogether, snapping back at Lori and acting in ways that were entirely unlike him.
Delilah had always been good at observing people, and recently, it seemed like that was all she could do. Tensions were at an all-time high since the barn incident, and she was exhausted—exhausted by the awful situation, tired of the people around her, and weary at the thought of having to find another place to stay once her father and Glenn returned with Hershel.
Yet, perhaps she wasn’t as observant as she thought, because she hadn’t noticed Shane leave, nor had she seen him return with her mother until they parked. Confused, Delilah got up from her chair and approached them.
Andrea immediately rushed to hug Lori. "Oh my God, are you okay? We were so worried!"
Delilah eyed her mother warily before stepping aside when Carl elbowed past her to run into Lori’s arms. She lifted him off the ground, holding him tightly. "Yes, I’m fine. I was in an accident."
"She was attacked," Shane corrected, standing uncomfortably close to Lori, much to Delilah’s displeasure. Lori rolled her eyes, setting Carl back on the ground before glancing around, searching for someone in the small crowd that had gathered.
"I’m fine. Really. Where’s Rick?" she asked, worry filling her voice when she didn’t see him. She looked at Andrea, then at Maggie, who had stepped out of the house to check on the situation.
Her gaze finally landed on Delilah, distant and unfocused, as if she were looking at her from far away. "Haven’t they come back yet?"
"Not yet," Delilah replied, pulling her red leather jacket tighter around herself and stifling a yawn.
Not in the mood to stand around waiting for her father and Glenn to return, Delilah turned on her heel, ready to head back to the makeshift camp. But she was stopped by the sound of her mother’s frustrated, angry voice.
"You bastard."
"Lori—"
"He’s my husband!" she shouted, shoving Shane. The small group watched, confused and on edge, ready to intervene if Shane reacted poorly.
"Lori, I’ll go look for him!" Shane’s raised voice drew out the rest of the Greene family from the house, all of them watching nervously, fearing there was some imminent danger.
What none of them seemed to realize was that the danger was already right in front of them—one of their own. Dale glanced at Delilah, then back at the escalating scene before them.
Delilah’s body flooded with rage when Shane grabbed her mother’s arm, causing Lori to wince from the force of his grip. Before she could think, Delilah launched herself at him, grabbing his arm.
"Don’t you dare touch her, you asshole!" she growled through clenched teeth, but within seconds, she found herself on the ground. The left side of her face stung sharply, like an injection, and her ear rang for a few seconds, disorienting her. It all happened so quickly that Delilah didn’t even realize what had hit her, though hearing her mother’s screams and the shock from those around her made it easy to figure out.
A metallic taste filled her mouth as a pair of hands helped her up to her knees. Her mother knelt in front of her, reaching for her face, but Delilah recoiled, a sharp pain shooting through her left side.
"Get away," Lori snarled at someone behind her daughter. Footsteps retreated from the scene. "Are you okay, honey? I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry," she whispered in Delilah’s ear, wrapping her arms around her and stroking her hair, just as she had when Delilah was little.
In the fading light of late afternoon, the room was enveloped in a heavy, almost palpable silence. The old Dale crouched slowly toward Lori, holding a damp cloth. Her face, marked with faint scratches from the incident earlier, was fixed on Delilah, who in turn glanced at Carl standing beside her, his face tight with worry.
At twelve years old, Carl’s large, innocent eyes, which had already seen too much, betrayed a barely concealed anxiety. He kept his gaze fixed on his mother, trying to be strong as if his mere presence could ease Lori’s pain.
“Don’t worry, Carl,” Lori murmured as Dale handed her the cloth so she could gently tend to her wounds herself. “It’s nothing serious.”
Carl nodded, but his expression remained unconvinced. He watched every move Lori made, as though fearing that even a slight touch could cause her more harm. Lori attempted to smile at him, but the tension in the air made any reassurance seem inadequate.
His eyes darted from his mother to his older sister, who sat across from him in an armchair, her expression betraying nothing. Delilah watched the scene with her arms crossed, her face flushed with the lingering anger from the earlier argument. Her irritation was not just for Lori, but for herself as well. Shane had hit her—a family friend she had once considered almost like an uncle. Her mind replayed the moment she had tried to intervene, to stop the explosive argument, and the violent response she received in return.
She had known Shane was a danger for a long time, but the fact that he had escalated to hitting her was a different matter. Shane was a ticking time bomb, and the moment when he would explode seemed closer than ever.
The silence between them was thick, and Carl couldn’t help but notice the palpable tension emanating from his older sister. He moved closer to Lori and took her hand, a simple gesture that seemed to promise his unwavering support.
Lori sighed slightly, drawing everyone’s attention. “I can’t believe Shane would do something like this,” she said finally, her voice heavy with bitterness.
“He’ll do worse,” Delilah snapped, lifting her gaze to meet her mother’s eyes. Her voice was sharp, brimming with barely contained rage. She couldn’t understand whether Lori was truly blind to Shane’s danger or too infatuated with him to see it. “He’s a threat. One of these days, he’ll do something that gets us all killed.”
Lori fell silent for a moment, her expression strained but composed. She tried to maintain a facade of calm, but the tension between them was undeniable, and Delilah could sense it. Carl, meanwhile, had not taken his eyes off his mother, his face reflecting the weight of something he didn’t fully understand.
Dale looked up from his task, his wise and weary eyes meeting Delilah’s. There was no need for words between them. Delilah knew he understood, that he shared her concerns. There was a silent understanding between them, a bond forged over time, perhaps because Dale had never been as naive as Lori seemed to be.
“Shane has his issues,” Dale said slowly, his voice calm but with a gravity that left no room for disagreement. The tone, though measured, was a warning. “But hitting someone… that’s not justifiable.”
Delilah pressed her lips together, her heart pounding. That wasn’t the point, not entirely. “It’s not just that, Dale,” she said, her voice trembling with the intensity of her emotions. “Shane is unstable. He always seems on the verge of… exploding. You can’t tell me you don’t see that too.”
Lori clenched her hands, trying to stay in control. “Delilah, it’s not that simple—”
“Yes, it is!” Delilah interrupted, her words flowing like a flood. “Lori, you refuse to see it. You want to protect everyone, but he’s a ticking time bomb, and when he explodes… we won’t be ready.”
Carl lowered his gaze, visibly shaken by his sister’s harsh words, and Lori seemed about to respond, but it was Dale who spoke up before another argument could erupt.
Delilah’s words had clearly hurt Lori, who had realized she had lost her child the moment she called her by name.
“Delilah is right about one thing,” Dale said slowly, locking eyes with Lori. “Shane is going through a rough patch, and if we’re not careful, that rough patch could become dangerous for all of us.”
Lori closed her eyes for a moment, the weight of Dale’s and Delilah’s words pressing down on her like a stone. When she opened them again, she seemed more weary. “I won’t let him hurt anyone,” she finally said, her voice low but firm. “I’ll handle it.”
The girl couldn’t hold back a laugh. “Oh really? And how?” Delilah’s tone was sharp, biting—nothing good could come from it. “I’m not sure your approach is quite suitable right now, don’t you think?”
A heavy silence filled the room, broken only by the distant ticking of a clock. Dale looked down at the floor for a moment before slowly rising, as if his bones were burdened with unbearable weight. He exited the room, unwilling to participate in the family argument he had tried to avoid.
“Delilah—”
“No!” she exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air and leaping out of the chair. “No! You can’t say anything! You’re putting yourself and Carl in danger just because you can’t control yourself! None of this would have happened if you hadn’t gotten so close to him in a moment of weakness!”
Lori’s eyes filled with tears, humiliated by her daughter’s words. But the harshness didn’t stop there. “Because that’s what you are. Weak.” Delilah jabbed her finger at Lori’s chest before storming out of the room, her anger surging through her veins as she slammed the front door behind her, ignoring Orion’s cheerful greeting on the porch.
She sat on the porch steps, stroking Orion’s soft fur and shivering as she heard footsteps approaching, too familiar to ignore. She didn’t need to look up to know who it was. Shane stopped briefly in front of her before passing by without a word and entering the house.
She watched him go, the door closing behind him, and made herself a promise.
If Shane wasn’t dead by the end of the weekend, she would ensure it herself. And that’s how she fell asleep, plotting the death of someone who had once been a core part of her life.
The next morning, Delilah woke up still sitting on the porch steps as a car approached and stopped a few meters away from her. It took her a moment to adjust her vision to the sunlight, but as soon as she recognized her father emerging from the car, she sprang to her feet, ignoring the slight dizziness she felt, and rushed to meet him.
Rick enveloped her in his arms, pressing a kiss to her head. "You're here," Delilah whispered against her father's chest, her voice cracking with exhaustion and emotion. For a moment, all the pain, anger, and fear seemed to dissipate. In that instant, she was simply a daughter in her father's arms, finding a safe haven in a world that seemed increasingly unstable.
Rick held her tightly, sensing the tension in her body. He was tired too, weighed down by everything that had been happening, but he tried not to show it. "Everything will be okay," he murmured in a deep, reassuring voice. "I'm back."
Delilah clung to those words, as if they could really bring order to the chaos surrounding them. But deep down, she knew Rick's return wouldn't solve everything. Not with Shane, not with the mounting tensions. Still, in that moment, it didn’t matter.
Within seconds, the sound of the engine and Rick's presence woke the rest of the group. The doors of the house flew open, and those who had been outside rushed to meet them. Lori was the first to arrive, with Carl right behind her, his face a mix of anxiousness and hope. From the porch, Dale descended with a calmer pace, but there was a look of relief in his weary eyes.
Delilah slowly detached herself from Rick's embrace and turned just in time to see Glenn stepping out of the car, visibly exhausted but relieved. He pushed back the sweat-soaked hair from his forehead and gave a nod to the others, a half-smile that couldn’t completely hide his fatigue.
From the passenger seat, Hershel emerged more slowly. His gnarled hands braced against the doorframe for leverage as he climbed out with a serious but determined expression. The journey seemed to have taken its toll on him, but his confident gaze at Rick and the others spoke of his commitment to help, just as he always had.
Lori moved closer to Rick and hugged him tightly, while Carl clung to his father's jacket, seeking comfort. "You found Hershel," Lori murmured, her voice a mix of relief and concern.
Rick nodded, looking intently at his wife. "Yes, he's with us. We have a lot to discuss."
Glenn approached Delilah, giving her a light pat on the shoulder, a silent gesture of support. "Everything okay here?" he asked softly, noticing the faint bruise forming on her cheek, though his attentive gaze sought answers in the expressions of those who had stayed behind.
As Rick tried to recover from the intensity of the moment and Hershel approached slowly with Glenn by his side, a growing tension began to permeate the group. Lori, Dale, and Carl exchanged questioning glances, noting that Rick, Glenn, and Hershel seemed more worried than expected.
It was Delilah who first noticed something strange. The car trunk wasn’t completely closed, and a faint vibration was coming from inside. She moved closer, her heart pounding in her chest. As she reached for the trunk to open it fully, Glenn tried to stop her with a quick "Wait!" — but it was too late.
The trunk swung open entirely, revealing a young man inside, bound and with a dirty cloth around his mouth. His eyes were wide with terror, and he struggled weakly to free himself. Delilah took a step back in shock, and in an instant, the rest of the group gathered around the trunk, their faces a mix of disbelief and concern.
“Who the hell is this?” Dale asked, his voice rough and incredulous, his face etched with concern.
Rick stepped forward, his expression tight. “His name is Randall,” he said, keeping his gaze fixed on the young prisoner.
Lori’s voice was filled with disbelief. “Rick, what’s going on?”
Hershel spoke up, calm but with a serious tone. “He was involved in a bad incident; we had to help him… but the problem is, he’s not alone.”
Delilah stared at the young man, her heart pounding even harder. “What do you mean? Where does he come from?”
Glenn cleared his throat, searching for the right words. “He’s from a group… an armed group. We don’t know how many there are or where they are exactly, but we have reason to believe they could be dangerous.”
Carl, who had been silent until then, stepped forward, looking at Randall with wide eyes. “And what are we going to do with him?” he asked, his voice full of curiosity as he watched the young man lose consciousness.
Rick clenched his jaw. “We need to decide. We can’t just let him go without knowing if he’ll bring his group here.”
A heavy silence fell over the group. Each member looked at Randall, but also at each other, searching for answers that no one seemed ready to give.
In the living room of the house, the atmosphere was charged with tension. Everyone had gathered around the central table, except for Delilah, who stood in a corner of the room with her arms crossed and her gaze fixed on the group.
Her father’s face was marked by worry, while Rick took his place at the center, his expression grave.
Randall had been locked in the cabin a short distance from the house, at a safe distance, after Hershel had to tend to a deep wound that wouldn’t stop bleeding.
“We can’t let him go,” Rick said firmly, breaking the silence. His tone was authoritative but heavy with responsibility. “If we do, he might return to his group and lead them here. We don’t know how many there are or what they’re capable of.”
Glenn, sitting next to him, nodded. “Rick’s right. We can’t take the risk. His group could kill us all. We need to think about our safety.”
“The bar, in town,” the old man began, “we heard them talking. They seem to be a large, disorganized group. We can’t underestimate them.”
Dale clasped his hands, his face pale with anxiety. “But we can’t kill him. We can’t... become like that,” he said, his voice trembling yet resolute. He looked at Rick with intensity, as if searching for a shred of humanity in this desperate situation. “There’s always another solution.”
“What solution, Dale?” Shane interjected, leaning against the wall, his gaze fixed defiantly on Rick. “There’s no time for half measures. This kid knows where the farm is. If we let him go, it’s only a matter of time before he returns with armed men. We need to do what’s necessary.”
Lori, sitting next to her husband, removed her hand from her mouth and looked at Shane in confusion. “How do you know that?”
Rick looked to Hershel, the head of the household, waiting for him to confirm what he had told them in the car. “Randall knows our family, or at least he knows Beth and where she lives. They went to school together and he’s from the area. It didn’t take him long to recognize me despite the severe blood loss.”
Delilah, in the corner of the room, followed the conversation with keen eyes, saying nothing. She was there, a silent and invisible presence, but every word echoed in her mind. She bit her lower lip, her hands pressed tightly against her chest. Shane, as always, was direct, but there was something unsettling in his manner. It wasn’t just concern for safety. It was something darker.
It was a thirst for control and power over everything and everyone.
Dale raised his hand, cutting through the argument. “Hold on a minute.” His voice was calm but laden with a wisdom that could not be ignored. “We can’t make a decision like this so quickly. We’re still human, or at least we should be. Killing this boy... it’s not justifiable. We don’t even know if his group will come looking for him.”
“We can’t afford to make mistakes,” Shane retorted, his tone growing harsher. “Dale, you’re living in the past. We’re not in that world anymore. We need to protect ourselves. We have to be realistic.”
Then T-Dog spoke up, his voice low but resolute. “Maybe we can find a remote place and leave him there. Without means to return or dangerous weapons. We give him a chance, but not enough to pose a threat.”
Rick considered those words for a moment, but Shane shook his head in disapproval. “That’s just another waste of time. He could still survive and come back with others.”
The debate continued, with voices rising, creating a whirlwind of conflicting emotions.
Delilah, however, remained silent, watching the chaos unfold before her. Inside, she felt a mix of fear and anger. Her heart pounded harder every time Shane spoke. There was something wrong with him, something that made her increasingly uneasy.
Eventually, Rick stood up from his chair, his decision etched on his drawn face. “We’ll decide tomorrow morning,” he said with a firm tone, looking at each of them. “Tonight, we keep him locked up. No one does anything until we’re all in agreement.”
The voices quieted, but the atmosphere in the room remained tense, as if an inexorable time bomb was ticking away.
The next day arrived with an eerie stillness. The morning air was crisp, but there was a palpable tension hanging over the house.
No one had slept well, and each step seemed heavier than usual, laden with the weight of the decisions they had to face. The sunlight filtered hesitantly through the windows, almost reluctant to illuminate the scene that was about to unfold.
In the living room, Rick, Lori, Shane, Dale, Glenn, and Hershel had gathered again. Delilah was already there, as she had been the night before, seated in the corner and watching in silence.
She had spent the night in a state of wakefulness, her thoughts in turmoil. The idea that everything was on the verge of collapsing wouldn’t leave her mind. And damn, if her intuition wasn’t spot on.
Rick was the first to speak, his voice heavy and resolute. “We’ve all had time to think about this,” he said, looking at each face present. “We can’t ignore the risk. Randall knows our location, knows where we are. But we can’t make a decision without considering the consequences.”
Shane, who had never had much patience for long discussions, stood up abruptly, shaking his head. “We’ve already talked enough, Rick. Randall has to die. End of story. If we let him go, we’re all dead. He’s a threat, and you know it.”
Dale, as he had the day before, raised his hand to stop Shane. “Hold on, Shane. Killing a kid like this, in cold blood... we can’t do it. It would make us monsters. We need to find an alternative.”
The tension between the two men was palpable, as if each word could spark a dangerous flashpoint. Rick looked between them, trying to find a balance between their positions. But it was clear that the decision was wearing him down.
Delilah was exhausted. Exhausted by the arguments, the increasingly difficult moral choices, the people around her who seemed incapable of seeing what was really happening. It was as if no one wanted to admit that, in the end, they had all changed. Their humanity was fragile, hanging by a thread, and she no longer knew what to cling to.
She slowly stood up from her chair in the corner of the room, trying not to draw attention. No one noticed her movement. They were all too engrossed in discussing Randall, the risk he posed, and what they should do.
Delilah quietly slipped out the door, closing it softly behind her. She took a deep breath, savoring the fresh morning air. A day away from it all. She needed to escape, even if just for a few hours.
Outside, Orion was waiting for her. She petted him on the head, feeling his soft fur between her fingers. “Let’s go, buddy,” she whispered, and together they headed towards the woods surrounding the Greene farm.
The sun climbed high in the sky as Delilah walked through the forest, finally feeling some semblance of peace. The leaves crunched under her feet, and the wind rustled the trees above her. Orion ran ahead, exploring, his tongue lolling out in excitement.
Delilah no longer thought about the tension in the house. She no longer thought about Shane, Rick, or the moral dilemma regarding Randall. She was alone, at least for a while, and that was enough.
She spent the day wandering aimlessly, following the winding trails of the woods. She sat by a stream to drink some water, watching Orion play with the stones in the water. Time seemed to stand still.
But as the sun began to set, an odd sensation crossed her skin. A sudden shiver. She looked around, noticing the forest growing darker, and with it, a sense of danger seeped into her heart.
“It’s time to go back,” Delilah whispered, her voice almost breaking the silence around her. Orion, her loyal pup, followed immediately, but there was something strange in the air. Something... wrong.
Every step she took towards the farm seemed heavier, as if the forest itself were closing in on her. The familiar sounds of the wind through the leaves had changed. There were no birds singing anymore, only the unsettling rustling of branches.
The air had grown thick, suffocating. Then she heard it: a low, guttural groan. Her blood ran cold. It was a sound she knew all too well.
She froze, her heart pounding in her chest. A walker.
Without thinking, she began to walk faster, trying to hold back the panic rising within her like a dark wave. Her steps quickened, but not fast enough.
Another groan. This time, it was closer. Too close. Orion began to growl, his hackles raised. Delilah spun around, and what she saw took her breath away: two walkers were emerging from the trees, their grotesque, twisted forms illuminated by the last rays of the dying sun.
Terror struck her like a punch to the stomach. "Run!" she screamed internally, but the voice in her head sounded too weak, smothered by horror. With Orion by her side, she started to run, but the ghastly groans of the walkers never ceased. Each step felt more arduous, more painful. The sound of the walkers dragging through the dry branches was an unshakable nightmare.
Her heart pounded so violently she feared it might burst. She leaped over tangled roots, dodged branches whipping her face, but the walkers never stopped. They were slow, yes, but relentless. Every time she looked back, they were there, getting closer. Their twisted hands reached out toward her, hungry for flesh.
When she finally glimpsed the farmhouse in the distance, relief swiftly turned to horror. Flames. She saw them even from afar, enormous and voracious. The tongues of fire enveloped the house, consuming everything.
Her breath caught in her throat, and her legs trembled. "Dad!" she cried out in desperation, but her voice was swallowed by the crackling flames. "Lori! Carl!" No response. Only the chilling sound of the fire devouring everything and the hissing wind carrying the acrid smell of ash.
Delilah ran, ignoring the pain burning her muscles and the tight knot in her chest. When she reached the yard, the scene that greeted her was worse than any nightmare.
Walkers wandered amidst the flames, stumbling like infernal shadows, grotesque and made more monstrous by the firelight. The farmhouse was devastated. There was no one. No sign of the group. Only destruction and death.
Orion barked furiously, trying to keep the walkers at bay, but Delilah couldn’t focus. The world around her was a distorted chaos. Where was her father? Where was Lori? What the hell had happened?
She searched desperately through the debris, her hands trembling as she rummaged through the charred remains. Every corner of the farmhouse was a heap of wreckage. The barns had collapsed, and the animals were gone. Smoke burned her throat; each breath felt like a fiery assault on her lungs.
But what was most suffocating of all was the silence. An eerie silence, broken only by the guttural sounds of the walkers and the relentless crackle of the flames. She was alone. Completely alone.
Orion continued to growl, but Delilah could no longer think clearly. The horror, fear, and anguish overwhelmed her. As the flames grew higher and the walkers drew nearer, she realized that this world had collapsed. There was nothing left. Nothing and no one.
She looked around with the dreadful awareness that she would die there, in that moment, if she didn't leave, but she couldn't risk abandoning her family behind. Assuming they were still alive.
She tried calling out their names again, but to no avail. Until she heard the distant rumble of an engine.
For half a second, a huge smile spread across her face, comforted by not being left behind, until she saw the camper heading in the opposite direction. She screamed at the top of her lungs, running towards the camper and waving frantically to be seen, but the white vehicle just accelerated away.
They had abandoned her.
Now, it was just her, the fire, and the encroaching darkness.
close to home | chapter thirty three
plot: the reader and her group receive a gift from a friend, and shelter from the storm
series masterlist
Pairing: Eventual Daryl Dixon x f!reader Word Count: 2,474 Warnings: violence, blood, typical twd A/N: thank you for reading!!!
To say you were feeling embarrassed about what happened between you and Daryl was an understatement. You felt like an idiot kissing him like that, and every time you thought about how desperate you were just to feel something, you wanted to curl up and die. And you hated that you couldn’t adequately explain to him that it was him you wanted that from.
It was Daryl you were so scared to lose now, so desperate to be close to. You wanted to feel that connection with him. You didn’t care that he had at least a decade on you or that he didn’t know how to express his feelings in the way you could. But he had to feel something for you. He made it too obvious.
But maybe it wasn’t any different than how he felt toward Carol. She seemed as close to him as you did, and you knew he talked to her about things. Who knew if they’ve kissed or fucked or whatever. But the way he kissed you. It was so deep and robust, and he held you so tightly that you feel cold without it, even in the blistering heat. And he was protective over you in a way that he wasn’t with anyone else.
Maybe your judgment was cloudy. You didn’t know what to think, and he looked away every time you tried to look at him. And he had gone off the road to hunt a while ago, so it didn’t matter anyway.
“(Y/N).”
You looked up at Rosita, who had appeared next to you. Her face was sweaty, and looked just as exhausted as you probably did. You’ve been walking for hours, and it was only early afternoon. The run was still up.
“Did you hear Rick? There’s a bridge up ahead; he wants to take out the herd.” She told you.
You glanced back at the herd forming the past few miles and nodded. A bridge could do the trick. You followed Rick’s lead and stood with him, Glenn, and Michonne. The walkers approached slowly, and Rick’s plan was working--until it wasn’t.
With Sasha going rouge, you all broke formation and jumped in to take down the herd. You followed Rick and Glenn, taking on walkers as they came.
You were breathing heavily with each one down, and your lack of food and water didn’t help. You knew everyone was feeling the same, and you tried to keep an eye out for everyone else.
You didn’t realize Daryl showed up, and soon the last walker fell from Michonne’s blade. After all that, you were struggling to breathe, and you wiped the sweat from your brow.
“I told you to stop,” Michonne said to Sasha. You glanced over and waited for the two to go at it, but Sasha walked away.
So that’s what you all did. Continued to walk.
***
The group found many abandoned vehicles an hour later and a few more miles. Daryl glanced at you; you were shielding your eyes from the sun and holding your stomach. I’m so hungry. Your voice kept ringing in his head, eating away at his heart. His guilt and sorrow filled him. All he wanted to do was make sure you were okay. He felt like a failure for not being able to hunt anything. He couldn’t provide you with the one thing you so desperately needed.
“I’m goin’ huntin',” Daryl said, “I’ll circle back,”
“May I come with you?” Carol asked.
Daryl shook his head, “No. Just me.”
He left the group and headed into the woods. With it getting cloudy earlier, the woods were a bit cooler. Still, he was sweating as he walked. The Virginia heat was suffocating.
As he walked, Daryl searched the ground for tracks, hoping to spot something. He couldn’t believe he hadn’t caught a damn thing--not a squirrel or anything. His frustration grew as he walked, and he knew he was only making it worse for himself.
When he came across a half-eaten deer on the ground, hopelessness set it, and he decided to turn back. The group sat in some shade a mile up the road, and he caught up to them quickly. He spotted you immediately; you were sitting with Michonne, looking half dead, with the damn cat on your stomach.
He sat down on the opposite side of the group, ignoring your gaze. He couldn’t look at you without thinking about the kiss the two of you shared. It only saddened him. And he deeply regretted kissing you. Not because he didn’t want to, he’s wanted to since the prison. But because he knew it wasn’t him that you wanted to kiss. You were so hysterical; he knew you would’ve kissed anyone. If Rick had gone to you, he knew you would’ve done the same. And he didn’t blame you for your actions. He understood them too well.
The group sat silently, with a few conversations here and there, but mainly in silence. You all heard it at once, and Daryl grabbed his crossbow. But the footsteps were too quick to be walkers.
A group of dogs emerged from the woods, barking loudly with aggression. Daryl glanced at you. You were holding onto your machete, ready to jump up. But it didn’t matter; Sasha was quick with her gun, and the dogs died in thirty seconds.
It didn’t take long for the group to prepare the unexpected meal. Daryl noticed you hanging back, holding Tora in your arms. He knew exactly what you were thinking. At what point would Tora become food. He knew you’d die before that happened. And he would too.
Daryl grabbed the cooked meat that Carol offered him and walked it over to you. Without saying anything, he gave it to you and then walked away.
***
For the first time, camping for the night wasn’t terrible. You had your watch rotation, and because you’d had a decent amount of food, you slept well. But that was hours ago and many miles between then and now.
A bit of dried meat was rationed, but by mid-afternoon, it started to smell, and Rick made Carol toss it. It was like the food you had yesterday didn’t count. You were starving again and were even lower on water.
You walked with tears in your eyes. You hadn’t spoken to Daryl since yesterday when you kissed him, despite trying to last night. You wanted desperately to tell him how you felt and that you were sorry about everything. By now, you got the message. He didn’t feel the same way for you. And everything you believed to be true yesterday was wrong. Maybe he did have a thing with Carol. Or with anyone. Or with no one. It didn’t matter. You needed to apologize and try to save whatever friendship you had left.
So when you overheard Daryl telling Abraham he would go look for water, you decided you wanted to do it now. Because you didn’t know if you would make it to the end of the day.
“I’m gonna go with you,” You said to Abraham. “We’ll circle back around.”
He nodded, and you went off toward where Daryl had gone. He had disappeared quickly, and you couldn’t see him when you scanned the treeline, but you picked up his trail quickly. If there was one pattern you could easily recognize, it was human. It was one of the first things Daryl taught you about tracking.
You knew he was walking quickly, not yet running, though. So you followed the trail to a small clearing where it stopped. You sighed and looked around. He could’ve gone anywhere. You were about to turn back when you smelt cigarette smoke, and you looked around again for him. Thunder rumbled in the distance.
You finally spotted him sitting against a tree. You knew then that looking for water was a lie, and didn’t want to intrude on him. You knew how important his own time was. But when you saw his shoulders shake as he cried, you couldn’t help it.
“Daryl,” You said as you approached him.
“What are you doin’ ‘ere?” He asked angrily, wiping his eyes.
You knelt down beside him and looked at his face. “I, I wanted to help you look.” You said. You glanced down at the burning cigarette on the ground and then at his hands, where you saw a fresh burn mark. You let out a soft sigh.
“Just let me be,” He gruffed. “I didn’ ask you to come out ‘ere,”
“You didn’t have to,” You snapped back, grabbing his hand and looking at the burn. “This isn’t going to help anything, Daryl,” You said in a softer tone.
He didn’t respond, and you could tell he was trying his best not to cry.
“You can cry,” You said. “You can cry with me.”
He glanced at you, lips trembling as tears finally fell. Your face softened, and you moved, wrapping him in a hug. You pulled him so his head was against your shoulder, trying to give him the same comfort he gave you yesterday.
You’ve seen Daryl cry before; you’ve seen everyone cry before. In this world, it was expected. But this time was different. It wasn’t because someone died or your home was destroyed. It was hopelessness, grief, and anger. All the things you felt yesterday.
So you held him for the few minutes he needed, and then his tough guy persona came back and he quickly stood up. “We should head back,” was all he said.
“Daryl, I…” Your voice trailed off as he started to walk away, and you knew it was pointless trying to talk to him anyway.
You followed him back to the road, feeling like crying yourself. But all that left your mind when you arrived and saw water bottles and containers sitting in the middle of the ground, with your group surrounding it.
Rick handed Daryl a paper, and you looked at it, your head brushing against Dary’s upper arm. From a Friend, the paper read. Both you and Daryl immediately grabbed your weapons.
“What else are we going to do?” Tara asked.
“Not this,” Rick replied. “We don’t know who left it.”
Everyone was on edge, and Daryl stepped in front of you with his crossbow.
“If that’s a trap, we already happen to be in it. But I, for one, would like to think it is indeed from a friend.” Eugene said.
“What if it isn’t?” Maggie asked.
“They could’ve put something in it.” You said.
Eugene grabbed a bottle while Rosita and Tara yelled at him. “Quality assurance,” He said. But Abraham knocked the water bottle out of his hand before he could take a sip.
“We can’t,” Rick finally said.
A loud clap of thunder sounded from above, and you all stopped to look up at the sky. It had been cloudy for most of the day, and when you felt a few drops of rain on your face, you breathed deeply in relief.
It started coming down harder as you heard someone laugh, and you spread your arms out and slowly spun in a circle, letting the cold water hit you. You opened your mouth and stuck out your tongue, collecting droplets that tasted like they were from heaven itself.
Within thirty seconds, you were nearly soaked, and you laughed when you saw Rosita and Tara lying on the ground. Some part of you wanted to join them, but Rick started ushering people to collect the rainwater. You walked over to Carl and checked on Tora in his bag. She was displeased at the rain, but you knew she’d be happy to drink it later.
As you set up bottles, Juidth started crying, and lightning cracked across the sky. Thunder boomed overhead, and you realized the storm was nearly above you. You were soaked to the bone, and the wind was picking up. You were actually cold.
“We gotta keep moving!” Rick yelled over the storm.
You grabbed Daryl’s arm, “The barn!” You yelled.
Daryl turned to Rick to tell him about the place, and after everyone grabbed their things, you all started to race towards the barn. Thankfully it wasn’t a long walk, but the storm was even worse, and you could hardly see ten feet in front of you.
Michonne linked your arm with hers, and you walked together.
You were shaking when Rick led everyone into the barn. You’d clear it together to get out of the rain. There was only one walker, but you weren’t there to put it down. You and Michonne set up every bottle you had outside to collect the rainwater.
It had gotten increasingly dark and you knew the storm was directly above you now. You could only hope and pray the barn would hold.
***
Aside from the lightning, the barn was dark. The fire that Daryl and Glenn kept trying to keep was fruitless; the wood was too wet. You were still on the colder side and sat side by side with Michoone, leaning against each other. Carol and Rick were also with you, and everyone else had scattered to get some sleep.
You wanted to check in on Maggie, but Glenn asked you not to. She needed time to process, and he didn’t think crowding her would help. You agreed with him on that; it never helped her. Even before.
You paid attention to the conversation, but your eyes were heavy, and you kept nodding to the side. You tried to fight sleep, but it was too strong and pulled you under. But you weren’t asleep for long. Michonne was shaking your shoulder in a way that had you panicking before you were awake.
And when you saw the group pushing against the doors, struggling against them, you jumped up to join the fight. Your body slammed against the wall, and you looked to your right to see Daryl struggling. His face was desperate, and when he met your eyes, you couldn’t tell what he was thinking. He yelled something at you, but you couldn’t hear over the walkers, wind, and shaking doors.
The muddy ground kept making you slide, but you fought like hell to stick your ground. You weren’t going down like this. You didn’t want to go down at all. You wanted to live. And now it was time to fight for it.
