Keep it PG
Inspiration: Link Here
I’m sorry @iamvegorott, but I couldn’t let this one go.
It was a Thursday night at the SepticEgo house. Marvin had a show that night, Chase was taking his kids to the movies, Jameson had disappeared inside his room to listen to old records, and Jackieboy-Man was running along rooftops, scanning for trouble. Robbie and Schneeplestein were sitting across from the coffee table, the game ‘Operation’ laid out in front of them. Henrik was clearly winning with the successful apple, wrench, butterfly, and pencil pieces as opposed to Robbie’s horse piece. Despite his best efforts at failing for Robbie’s benefit, Henrik was still much more experienced at the tweezer ‘surgery’. He hoped to keep losing turns due to the rubber band.
Without warning, Anti leaned over Henrik’s shoulder and picked up the wrench piece. The doctor jumped and whipped around, a scowl on his face.
“Could you not sneak up behind me for ONCE? I’m trying to concentrate.”
Anti smirked. “Are ya, doc? Because right now, it looks ta me like you’ve tried ‘n failed 5 times ta get a simple rubber band with tweezers.” Before Henrik could shoot him a warning, he continued “Ya know, I killed someone with a wrench once. It was in an alley downtown.”
Robbie perked up. “What happened, Antsy? Did he try to steal your money?”
“Nah, he was makin fun of my hair. Said I was ‘too old’ for bold colors.” Anti leaned over and ruffled Robbie’s hair which got a small laugh out of him. “Where’d you find the wrench?” Robbie’s eyes sparkled with curiosity.
Anti just shrugged before jumping onto the couch. “Found it on some ladder against the alley wall. My knives were back home because SOMEONE didn’t want me ta bring em when I left for groceries that day.” Anti looked pointedly at Schneeplestein who simply kept looking at the tweezers and remarked “We don’t need more police reports to expunge.”
“What happened next?” Robbie had seemingly abandoned the game for the time-being and was leaning against the table with his chin in his hands. But before Anti could open his mouth, Henrik muttered “We need Antiseptic PG.”
“Awww come on, doc. You’re a surgeon. Don’t ya wanna know how I did it? I even got a cool scar from it, see?” Anti lifted up his shirt sleeve to show a fading line across the side of his shoulder. Henrik looked it over for a few seconds before adding “That won’t be the only scar you have tied to this story if you question my request.”
Anti simply clicked his tongue, his smirk still unwavering. “Really, doc. Threats? Doesn’t sound very PG to me.” A light giggle played on his lips before he sighed and agreed, starting the story from when he left the house that morning.
_________________
Marvin had already come back from his show before Anti was done; however after walking through the door hearing “But just as that asshat took a swing at me with his switchblade, I threw a gallon of milk at his face”, he simply threw his hat on the coatrack and walked towards his room, slouched from fatigue.
At some point, Jameson had emerged to grab a few cookies, but didn’t stay long when he grasped the conversation was violence-related.
At the end of the story, Robbie was looking on in awe while Henrik seemed uninterested, his attention instead on the ‘spare ribs’ in the game. Robbie almost had the water pail twice but other than that, showed no real success throughout the last hour. “That was a… riveting story, Anti, but I think we’d focus on our game better if you weren’t distracting us with tales from alleys.”
Anti’s face dropped quickly from a grin to a deepening scowl. “Whatever. ‘Operation’ sucks anyways.” As quickly as he had appeared, Anti was gone back down the hallway. Within five minutes, however, he was back with a grin brushed wide on his face.
Before Henrik could question his mischievous nature, Anti pulled out a gun from behind his back. The barrel was a deep reflective purple and there was something etched in the handle; but his hand was covering it.
A giggle echoed from Anti’s lips before he aimed at the game on the table and pulled the trigger.
“ANTI-”, but Henrik stopped his yelling when he saw that instead of a hole punched through the electric game, a bright blue cylinder was in its place. Almost immediately, Robbie picked it up and popped it in his mouth.
“Mmmmmm Jolly Ranchers. Thanks, Antsy.” Robbie looked content with a cheek bulging out, reveling in the sickeningly sweet hard candy.
“Close your mouth, Doc. My aim with a gun isn’t THAT good,” Anti said with a smirk. Henrik turned to look at him, his brain queueing up a thousand questions already.
Due to his look of confusion, Anti tossed the gun onto the table with a loud CLANK. Etched into the handle in beautiful silver cursive was the name ‘Robbie’. The look on Henrik’s face was too much to bear and Anti ended up doubled over in laughter for a minute or two. Once he was satisfied, he stood back up straight and turned to leave.
“Enjoy your game, Doc!”, Anti exclaimed before strolling out of the room.
Henrik was going to have a little … chat… with Wilford about this.

Been a while
But that’s ok. This isn’t an every day thing. Not like much goes on on a day-to-day basis anyways, so there’s that.
Today period started, it’s pretty ferocious, bad cramps and heavy downpour. Made a pretty mess everywhere, of course, but easy clean. That of course messes with the emotions, kytten isn’t doing well, so I, Guen, am doing the post today.
Husband did shopping, got a lot of things, mostly meats and such, need to get veggies for sides, but we’re hardcore set for meat for the rest of the month and most likely longer than that.
Haven’t started watching any anime, just watching Twitch streams and Youtube videos, we’ll get around to it though. Have a lot going on.
D&D isn’t happening tomorrow, we had a player drop out - for reasonable reasons. They are a poor college student and got a job at a store and will be working during session time. Don’t blame them - gotta do what ya gotta do when you need money. So we need a 5th player, husband wants to have 5 and we have 4 and a halfish. 4 full time and a part-timer. We’ll figure something out, I suppose.
Duckie created her ‘room’ in the inner space - none of the rest of us have seen it, but she explained it in detail to husband. It seems very nice. She took a big step earlier as well. Husband made pancakes (very good pancakes, ones that even he can eat, so that’s nice. Very filling, made with almond flour and coconut flour.) and Duckie was eating them and with ‘scramblies’ (scrambled eggs) and then, reserving some, she kind of...gave over fronting to Belle (who LOVES pancakes too) and Belle was able to enjoy some of the pancakes too! It was very sweet and a very big step in approaching us. Very appreciated by Belle and very exciting for all of us.
As to how the body’s doing today: Lots of pain, of course, from cramps, but also overall body pain. Right wrist and hip, my most troublesome spots, are aching fiercely, as well as my head on the left side. Emotions are all over the place, with kytten doing poorly (She harmed, a little, just some surface-nails-digging-into-skin, the most it’ll do is bruise slightly, but there’s nothing really there. I was unable to catch it as I was distancing myself a little as she and husband spoke.) and with the rest of us being worried about her. Very tired, but that’s an always thing, even after coffee I’m still tired. Bleh.
ASMR&Blogging Done.

I have a 6 yo. I've been suffering pretty bad for the last year. I finally got a new gi and a resection on 12/18 so I hope I get to feeling better. I kinda love Moon Lovers and also love Moonlight, but on Mondays I tend to pick up Moon Lovers before Moonlight (I am mostly watching moonlight for the incomparable Kim Yoo jung and Park Bo gum). It almost like the Healer situation. It had such fan fervor outside Korea, in Korea it hovered just under the 10% mark for its run.. Yup definitely. I don think there much point in having an "only AB/kbeauty" routine just for its own sake, I much prefer to mix and match and see what works best for me. For me, the sunscreens I prefer are European brand ones (I been using Avne for a long time), and the "hardcore" glycolic acid / retinol products I prefer also tend to be western brand ones (Alpha Skincare is cheap and good for me). However, my knowledge checks with 11 int are almost always really good. I rolled nature to see how little I would know about a polar bear for shits and giggles and got a crit 20. I honestly blame a lot of this on "green" packaging. When everything was on a blister card you saw a LOT less of people opening things, probably because it took a lot more time to get things open (and some honestly were impossible to open without a scissors). Why I stopped being a Vegan
Somewhere around 2013, I became a vegan. I mean I was hardcore. All the way down to the toothpaste and even what I put on my body. But then, somewhere in 2015, I became a meat eater again. Nobody ever asked me why! But I know that people were wondering why. I never really said anything either way on YouTube. I just stopped talking about vegan recipes all together.
When I first became vegan, I started following all kinds of people on YouTube and social media. People from all walks of life. I thought it was so amazing. So I started eating what the majority of people were eating. This turned our to be a mistake for me. Before I knew any better, I was consuming veggie products that had soy. I ate a lot of veggies like kale, bok choy, cabbage and collards. I started making a lot of different bread(gluten). Also, I started drinking coffee(caffeine) somewhere in there. All of these can be a problem to the thyroid if you are having problems. I wasn’t aware that I had any Thyroid problems until I became a vegan and changed my diet. In my case, I combined all of these ingredients into a big salad on a daily bases. In return, my hair started falling out and I started gaining weight. But, that still wasn’t the reason why I stopped being a vegan.
In 2015, my husband and I decided to get pregnant. 3 months into the pregnancy, I had a miscarriage. I thought to myself, I have 5 children. Why now? We tried again and miscarried again. I thought; this has to be because of my diet. This has never happened. So, I began to eat fish and then chicken. And, slowly added beef. I still do not eat pork. So we tried again. Low and behold, two months in. Miscarriage! So now, I’m thinking two things. One, maybe it wasn’t me being a vegan. Two, maybe I damaged myself in someway being a vegan.
In 2016, I started doing research on my own because the doctors wanted to blame it on being vegan (of course). I found out that the above foods combined with an unhealthy gut can stop the body from getting the iodine that it needs. Among other things!
I always said that I was going to follow Dr. Sebi’s diet and cleanse myself first and start over fresh.
So, today is the day. It’s Monday, March, 20th 2017. I want to publicly announce this so that I will hold myself accountable. This is the day that I am going back vegan. But this time with a little more knowledge of my body and the foods I put in it.
I hope that anyone that’s reading this will help me with my journey. Check in on my from time to time and see how I’m doing. Here are some of my social media links: YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_EoJoV_urhyk0pdQFTxhvw?

Gaining Weight Again? Here Are 9 Ways to Bounce Back.
Lear Miller Photo / Getty
You were diligently counting macros, tracking every workout, drinking water, and quickly shedding pounds—until something happened. You stopped losing weight. The scale crept up by half a pound, then one pound, two pounds, and now you’re up five pounds. And you don’t know how it happened.
First, take a breath. Second, reality check: Five pounds isn’t the end of the world. (And if you’ve been working out diligently, there’s a good chance it’s just a result of additional muscle mass.)
Point is: If you’ve started gaining weight again after a promising period of weight loss, your first task is to understand learn why you gained weight in order to start shedding fat and inches again. The next step: doing something about it.
To help you through the process, we talked to Caroline Apovian, M.D., president of The Obesity Society and director of nutrition and weight management at The Boston Medical Center, as well as Mascha Davis, M.P.H., R.D.N., spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Here are their top tips to reverse weight gain and start reaching your goals again.
1. Cut the carbs (and prioritize the right ones).
Okay, you knew we were going to say that, right? That’s because it works—within reason.
“Focus more on protein intake and reducing the carbohydrates and fats, while increasing your intake of protein and vegetables,” Apovian says.
We’re not saying you need to follow a low-carb diet. Simply track your carbs and make sure your macros are balanced. If you think your meal plan is carb-heavy and you could add in more veggies and protein, try it for a week or two and see if that impacts the scale.
Also, above all, aim for quality carbs. Cutting your carbs won’t work if the only carbs you eat are from cupcakes.
2. Make sure you’re getting enough sleep.
We know: Easier said than done, but it’s more important to your weight, health, and waistline than you might think. If your weight started to creep up around the time that you began binge-watching a new show late at night, or if you started waking up ridiculously early to squeeze in a hardcore workout, your body might be fighting you in the battle of weight loss.
“If my clients aren’t losing weight and are experiencing gains, I look at their entire lives and ask how they’re sleeping,” says Davis. A ton of research over the past decade has linked a lack of sleep to weight gain, particularly due to hormone changes, she says. “When you’re in a sleep deficit, your levels of ghrelin will be higher, which is the hormone that makes you feel hungrier,” says Davis. So even if you woke up for the sake of exercising, your body might be primed for hunger the rest of the day.
[RELATED2]
“Some of my clients think it’s better to sacrifice sleep they need by getting up an hour earlier to get to the gym—but they don’t realize that this is sabotaging their goals,” Davis says.
“Getting at least seven to eight hours a night is very important,” Apovian says. “It's better to sleep than to get up early and exercise if you haven't had enough sleep. It's so important [for your health] to get those eight hours.”
Remember, you don’t need to do an hour of exercise in the morning if that’s the only time you think you can fit it in. Break it down into 15- to 20-minute mini bursts of exercise throughout the day. You’ll spike energy after these workouts and you’ll get to sleep in a bit more, so it’s a win-win for your body.
Here’s how to burn more fat while you sleep.
3. Eliminate distractions while eating.
“I encourage my nutrition clients to focus on mindful eating and intuitive eating,” says Davis. “Don’t eat when you're distracted. If you have the TV on, [or are eating lunch at your desk while reading this] you're not clued into your [hunger cues], and the triggers that cause you to [overeat],” she says.
Research also supports that claim that using mindful eating techniques may help with weight loss, because you may be less likely to overeat when you realize you’re full.
Try eating without the distraction of a TV, book, newspaper, your phone, or computer for one meal. Then do it for a full day of meals. Ultimately, try to practice this technique for a week. You may find that you’re fuller sooner than you think, and that you’ve just effortlessly kick-started weight loss again.
4. Increase your training intensity.
Chances are, unless you’ve been following a progressive training routine—like our 12 Weeks to a Competition Body training program—then your workouts may have become, well, too routine (which is to say, easy) for your body. And when that happens, your body will stop adapting.
“Intensify your resistance exercise, either by adding a day, or increasing the weight, or increasing the reps,” suggests Apovian. High-intensity exercise has been shown to reduce body fat, so even if your weight remains status quo, you’ll lose inches and dress sizes.
5. Stop eliminating food groups.
“When I’m working with a new client and they’ve started to gain weight, I ask about their diets,” says Davis. “Were they on a fad diet? Are they doing something extreme where they're cutting out an entire food group? Are they following a very low-carb diet? I don't promote any fad diets because I think what happens a lot of the time is that people start to feel deprived and then they'll overdo it later.
[RELATED2]
“Instead, I encourage my clients to focus on the really good things that they can have more of, like veggies and fruits, for example,” she says. “I examine how we can achieve that really good balance of all the macros. I want to make sure my clients are getting enough healthy, lean proteins, enough whole grains, healthy carbs, and eating plenty of veggies.”
Pro tip: Make sure your diet includes these 15 lean muscle-building foods.
6. Ramp up your fiber intake.
Surveys have found that 95% of Americans fall short of getting the recommended daily fiber intake; we should be getting about 25–30g a day from food, but instead we’re only getting about 15g daily.
Fiber is essential to maintaining a healthy weight, says Davis. “You can eat a lot of high-fiber foods, they’re filling, and they’re perfect for weight maintenance.”
Insoluble fiber can be found in fruits with edible peels, seeds, vegetables, whole grain products (like whole-wheat bread and whole-wheat pasta), brown rice, bulgur wheat, stone-ground corn meal, cereals, bran, rolled oats, and more. Soluble fiber, which might decrease blood cholesterol levels, can be found in fruits (such as oranges and grapefruit), vegetables, legumes (such as dry beans, lentils and peas), barley, oats, and oat bran. Both help you feel full faster and are great for keeping things moving in your digestive tract.
“For weight management, fiber is super important because it's filling without adding a lot of excess calories or fat,” Davis says. Try these protein bowl recipes that are packed with high-fiber veggies.
7. Watch your post-workout snacks.
Are you fueling your workouts with a high-calorie bar and a huge protein shake afterwards? While post-workout nutrition is important for muscle gains, you might be overdoing it if the scale has been creeping up since you’ve added these products to your meal plan.
“People who start a resistance exercise and aerobic program usually find that their hunger increases as well,” Apovian says. “Sometimes it's very obvious, other times not so obvious, and that's your body. It's not just energy intake and energy expenditure. Your body is going to try to keep your body weight where it is, so your hunger is going to increase.” Simply put, you’re battling your body’s biological response because it doesn’t want to lose weight. (Blame our cavewoman ancestors, who really needed every calorie because losing weight was detrimental to survival).
[RELATED3]
Drink plenty of water and keep your post-workout snacks in check. If you’re a lot hungrier since starting a strength-training program, load up on low-calorie veggies and lean protein first.
“[Many protein bars] have a lot of calories for the amount of volume, so be aware if you’re eating them in addition to your meals,” Apovian says. “You might be better off eating a salad with a hard boiled egg instead of that protein bar.”
8. Don’t eat the same amount of food that you did at age 20.
Be mindful that as you age, your body burns fewer calories at rest.
“As you get older, you tend to lose muscle and gain fat,” Apovian says. So, even if you haven't gained weight, your body composition has changed to one that has more body fat, she says. “The more muscle you have, the higher your resting energy expenditure is.”
Remember, your resting energy expenditure is how many calories you’re burning if you’re simply lying in bed all day. For women, it’s usually between 1,200 to 1,500 calories. “As you get older, that resting energy expenditure goes down maybe to 1,000 to 1,100, and that means that you get to eat 200 calories less than you did when you were younger,” Apovian says. Bummer.
“The antidote would be to increase your lifting,” she says. “You need to do more resistance exercise than you did when you were younger to try to get back that muscle mass that you start losing around age 40. Studies have shown that it’s never too late, even if you've lost some muscle mass, to start building it up. Do resistance exercises at least two to three times a week for 45 minutes to an hour using all muscle groups,” Apovian recommends. Learn more about how to build muscle and burn fat in 30 days.
9. Get your hormones checked.
If you’re approaching menopause age, your weight gain might be due to hormone changes that impact your sleep and hunger levels, making it even more difficult for you to lose weight.
“[Weight gain] often happens during menopause because of hormone changes, plus it just happens to be a time of stress in their lives, their careers, or with their families,” Apovian says.
“Some women are able to take hormone replacement therapy,” Apovian says. “If your doctor says it’s a good idea, and you don't have a history of breast cancer in the immediate family, and you don't have a history of heart disease, you probably would be a candidate for hormone replacement therapy. That will give you back the estrogen you're losing, which will help your sleep pattern. It will also help ensure that your body composition is benefited. It can help you retain your body composition if you don't lose your estrogen. In my patients who are really trying to mitigate the weight gain that typically occurs during menopause, I do prescribe hormone replacement unless there's a contraindication due to their health history.”
