what is this?
this is front-facing-pokemon, a tumblr blog (currently) designed to post every pokƩmon in national pokƩdex order from the least flattering angle possible!
why is it called front-facing-pokemon if not all the pokƩmon are front-facing?
because they used to be! we managed to get through the entire national pokƩdex facing directly at the camera, and as a result of a poll, i switched to this theme in order to keep the blog going and still post funny pokƩmon pictures!

search for its name on this blog! every pokƩmon is tagged with their name. since we got through the entire national dex for front-facing 'mons, i can guarantee you we've done your fave at least once!

this is not a requests blog! it goes in national pokƩdex order
when will you do (x pokƩmon)?
whenever we reach it in the national pokƩdex! find the national pokƩdex number of your chosen pokƩmon, subtract it from the national pokƩdex of the most recent pokƩmon you see, and divide that number by two, for two posts a day (minus mega evolutions and alternate forms), and you'll have roughly the amount of time you'll have to wait until your favorite pokƩmon arrives (again! because we've already done the whole natdex once)
how do you decide which angle is the least flattering?
you can vote on them in the front-facing-pokemon discord server! that's where we decide on angles for new posts (and technically this gives you sneak peeks of the upcoming posts like a week in advance!)
do you have a main blog?

what are munchers, sniffers, bald, rock, etc etc?
silly names we gave some of the angles in the first discord call to establish the beginning of the queue to give names to recurring angles that tend to be funny on pokƩmon. and angles you'll likely see repeated!

It definitely has its pros and cons but living in a city where pretty much every artist performs is definitely at the top of the pro list! And itās kinda funny when T&K reference local things like this that I just so happened to be at too lol
Honestly it was such a good show š I love Tina& Amy so much and have been fans of them for forever so it was everything I expected and more. I know theyāre touring through next year and hopefully they keep adding more cities so you can see them too!
Also, seeing Orville irl was so funny because the hat and mask are his disguises but it actually just makes him stand out more so the whole YouTube theater saw him come in. He also sat down like right before the show started and everyone else was already seated so there was a hush over the crowd as everyone watched him. Idk I laughed. Also also my friend was seated a few rows behind him and he blocked the view with his giant cowboy hat so she took a picture and since I was seated a few rows in front you can see the back of my headā¦ and thatās how I technically have a picture with Orville Peck lmao
#sorry that was long#more story time from me lol#I was at both T&K live shows in LA last year and I was going to do a write up about it because they made some changes but never did whoops#so I guess I kinda did just now?#I was also supposed to go to both LA&SD pods so if I can make the rescheduled dates Iāll for sure post about those#since theyāre still not recording most of them#I actually emailed the production company to find out which pods they would be recording#they said they couldnāt share but that a big factor was not all theaters will allow them to record#so thatās more of a reason why than them just wanting to pretend to save stories lol#which they can never remember anyways so it doesnāt really matter!#so yeah NOLA was recorded and Houston/Minneapolis/Montreal werenāt literally because of theater viewing rights#which you would think they could just plan for beforehand?#but I also believe that they do want to make some of the shows special and unique and not recording takes the pressure off#to have new stories every time#also the reactions to the live pod really vary and now I think they should save them too#itās funner to see them irl and have it live it the moment anyways#okay I swear Iām done now

reading springfest now after everything in nagazora is making me crave more fu hua and mei interactions. i feel like thus far in my go through, i've never actually seen them interact, but it's kinda fun that the person who made the recommended reading order put springfest after nagazora (though of course this is probably in preparation for whatevers going on with senti/fu hua rn in ch 19)
but the way that the empyrea isolates herself so she doesn't have any attachment to those who she will outlive and how she winds up becoming lonely as a result threw me back to mei isolating herself in world serpent so that she can protect kiana and just... idk..... i think the two talk about that isolation would be interesting
also. i love fu hua. she's still at the top of my list for best character so i'm just a happy little guy getting more fu hua content now in the story :> yippee fu hua

Hey wanna know a fun fact about this wip? I actually had a few thumbnailed compositions and the initial idea of it was quite different
Still using that alt composition but I'm using it for a venti and Istaroth piece instead ;)
#the art's based on the phrase Butterflies drink turtle tears and I ended up tentatively naming my corrupted Istaroth au after the same line#so whoops I guess Istaroth is taking the spotlight now#also bc the idea was corrupted venti kissing the tears off another character with a smirk and I couldn't figure out who to make said chara#and I didn't really want it to be interpreted as ship art#so ig we're going the mother son route instead#something something she loves him and teyvat but she's also hurting them because of the timeloop and the corruption#aqua's ramblings
