Wow even on 2023 tunglr i cant escape the weirdass fandom take that if u didnt enjoy their thing is because u "missed the point" and while i could and probably should just continue to ignore that i really really wanna talk about why that, at face value, is such a ridiculous concept to me like.

Speaking legitimately.

Sometimes people just don't find things tasty for personal reasons.

Sometimes people have had other food of the same flavour to compare to. (Have seen other things set out to do the same thing, more to their liking.)

Sometimes people get the point but also don't agree with it.

Sometimes people like the point but don't think it was accomplished sufficiently, that the "chef" could have chosen better seasonings or cooked it longer to achieve greater heights of perfection.

Sometimes people just don't vibe with things for reasons that have nothing to do with "missing the point". Heck, sometimes even when u generally LIKE something, you are frustrated by specifics of the execution. Theres a lot of people with different tastes, experiences, and outlooks, it would be weirder if everyone liked something unconditionally simply because they understood what it was trying to accomplish lol

"it starts at like 4 am , even on days off." lee know said. "4:30 am she's out the door , and she doesn't go to the gym." seungmin spoke up. "no because that's at 7:30 , i asked her , 'where do you go at 4 am?" she said she just walks around."

"i can't live without a certain routine , it drives me crazy if everything is out of order , i know it's hard because i'm traveling a lot , but i made one for traveling and one for when im home." she laughed.

"i do sometimes drag the others into it , i can't help it , i know they hate it , but they won't be mean about it.

"it's not intentional though , i think because i'm up , im sometimes a bit loud and they wake up."

theres no way for me to express this sentiment without sounding like an arrogant jackass but sometimes, while im very grateful anyone who sees my art irl always immediately asks if im an animator or graphic novelist or something bc they think it means its good enough to be professional, it kind of always… idk irks me just a little bit? like a pet peeve. i guess bc when i explain “no haha i might sell prints or do commissions in the future but this is just for fun” they get like, almost confused. sometimes i wish people would embrace that you can very much do things for fun yanno. not everything is about money and a career. i mean id like to sell prints of the fanart i do at my local artist meetups but id sell them for cheap if anything 🤷🏼‍♀️ thats about it

wow guess who finished the entire good omens show in two days. i just finished screaming into a pillow for the 500th time so i believe im safe to write this.

Spoilers for Good Omens Season 1 and Two Below

Thoughts on Season 1:

The Things I Didn't Like:

I honestly don't like Anathema as much in the show. It feels like the same problem I had with Wonka (other than it being a horrble movie with annoying characters) Both Anathema and Wonka are supposed to be "quirky" characters with a lot of knowledge but it comes off as annoying and cringy.

That's really my only major pet peeve, except for maybe Adam's eyes when they turn red looking not the best.

The Things I Liked:

Beelzebub's actor. Holy shit, her accent is to die for. Every line I love the performance of it. Honestly all the acting in this show is top notch (except for said person above)

I was not expecting to love David Tennant as Crowley. To me he's the goofy silly all powerful Doctor, but he pulls it off really well. He will forever be my greasy gay Crowley

The same thing happened with Aziraphale, less about the actor and more about the appearance. I was unsure about how he looked because that's not how I imagined him. Quickly, I realized that Azriaphale is perfect in every way and I love him.

The book is very dense and the show expands on many of those concepts. I understood a lot more things in the show then in the book.

The Them were a lot more tolerable in the show. Their conversations were so damn long and I wanted to get back to my pookie bears.

I love Shadwell and I keep on repeating his lines to try and get my scottish accent better.

There's so much more I liked but I can't think of it rn and I'm aching to get to season 2.

The fly thing felt less like a fix-it because of the explanation of Gabriel and Beelzebub's relationship.

7. What attribute of them (some facet of their personality, their history, their look, or whatever etc) would you find most important to somehow preserve if they were transplanted to an AU fanfic?

most important delta traits to me are his intelligence and his ability to stay calm. he's very unflappable under most circumstances and he can put up w a lot so he's kind of indispensable in a crisis. i feel like in any circumstance he somehow ends up as a load-bearing structure so he's usually doing a lot of important work and typically going unnoticed for it.

9. If your character could have handed their role in the plot to someone else, would they have?

nope. he definitely thinks of himself as exceptional and he's kind of right to feel this way -- no one else survived the institute. he's pretty sure if anybody else had his role they'd totally crumble under the pressure OR they'd go in the other direction and become totally unhinged. just let him do it. its fine.

14. How does your character feel about riding horses (or your world's closest approximation of a horse if it lacks horses)?

lol this is funny cause im actually writing a section about horses right now. delta's ass does not go outside. he would not get on a horse.

definitely freeze. this is a sad but pretty consistent trait about him is he's been conditioned to ignore his own danger response. he only flinches when he's about to get hurt, he doesn't fight back or try to escape :(

hmmmm.... no. well it depends. i think it varies based on the day but right now i don't think delta can even feel anger. it's another thing he's been taught to suppress. he gets irritated sometimes but it will be a while before he can allow himself to be truly angry about what's happened to him.

lol im glad you asked! paris's character is very much shaped by his circumstances so i think he'd actually be very different depending on the universe he's in. for me i think the most universal traits he would have are behavioral issues, physicality, and sensitivity. that's kind of a weird list i guess i mean in any universe he'd get pissed off easily and be good at fighting and get lost in his own thoughts a lot. in comparison to delta i actually dont think he'd have to necessarily be important in any universe -- i feel like it's pretty obvious paris should not have been in power and does not enjoy being in power lol. he would not gravitate towards it naturally. he accidentally became an important person as his job and its ruining his life.

would be shorter to list the ones he doesnt have tbh. he hates slow walkers though he's def shoved tons of people out of the way for that. MOVE.

PERSONALITY

She is a level-headed, graceful, and stern individual who will not spend a single moment second-guessing her every move. As the Princess of the Moonbrine, Erinne is responsible for a shockingly vast majority of the kingdom's local and overseas politics, showing herself off as a worthy member of any court. Despite her rather daunting titles and positions—however vague those could often be, Erinne never lets the status get through her head, remaining humble yet mindful of what her mere presence could offer.

Knowledgeable of both traditions and laws, she is quick to correct those who break them but provide second chances when necessary. Erinne is open-minded to change and latter perspectives, acknowledging faults and differences in her or others' decisions and/or plans. Having been taught personally by the enigmatic Moonbrine Queen herself, Erinne is well-educated in nearly all matters of life. With this knowledge, she spoils her friends. "Not my money," she says. Technically.

But despite her amiable yet regal, external persona, Erinne is no doormat. Her hair looks like fire for a reason and controlled inside her head is an anger that very rarely explodes. While her patience often puts her as a saint, one might see a tiny slip in her expression—a twitch of the eye or a falter of her smile, and could only hope that the room has enough escape routes. Stay enough for longer, and one might even hear her curse. And also yell. Make sure to get a lobotomy right after for privacy's sake. Another part of her is that no matter how she is kept in the palace with duties and such, she makes time to roam around in the wilderness nearby. Often barefoot. It's a habit and a way of relaxation she still hasn't lost and wouldn't dream of losing it. Because who cares.

To whoever read the last post about these two with my Yuu in it, I mentioned something about the aunt—the name I haven't decided yet—not being an actual family member. Erinne is mighty suspicious of this but despite her own status, cannot do much about it because the queen is currently untouchable. Think of that as you will.

UNIQUE MAGIC - 'Luster Revelation'

Luster Revelation summons a glowing, golden bauble that Erinne could either hold or set flying in the air—she can control its direction. Whatever the light of the bauble touches reveals what she yearns to know; magical traces and their owners (who - the true name, what - the spell casted, when - the date).

It takes a bit of mana, but it's nothing Erinne can't handle.

TLDR: Erinne makes a floating scanner and fact checks you live. May or may not cause mental damage.

PERSONALITY

Thora is as stoic as he looks, a well-put young man with a glare that could either send comfort or send folks running. To both teachers and peers alike, he is a responsible and reliable student who puts studies first and indulgences later. Saying that, he crams because he's often too busy playing with his cat. In the classroom, he'd be the type to let you sleep but wake you up when anything happens because, well, you're still in class. In the sparring field, he'd beat you ruthlessly and help patch up your wounds afterwards.

I would like to add that a lot of his personality, with a few add-ons and changes, he got from Erinne from basically sticking with her during their childhood. Their relationship is that they're both close childhood friends with sometimes way too much time on their hands that they end up making calls late at night just to trash other people. Thora's personality definitely helped simmer Erinne, but in turn she ignited a few un-gentlemanly parts of himself. For one, he is actually petty. Overall, Thora is a good person who would hold himself to his promises (he'd die if he won't /j), and respects and honors even his opponents. But by the Seven, you do something that even inconveniences him in the slightest, he'll do something about it. Hate is one thing but annoyance is another, and Thora's usually so easy-going that it's hard to get him to actually hate people. He can be mean, but make sure that it never happens. Thora feels low-key ashamed of it but he still acts like a hater.

He could be quite grateful to whoever helps him out and vows to be with them in their trying time, like Silver except if Silver had a mean bone in his body. Thora is fiercely loyal. He'd be an aggressive supporter and would definitely kill for his loved ones. Great! This goes the same for animals. Since he was a stable boy in the past, he would rather die than harm an animal, especially if they're fuzzy.

Thora doesn't talk much about his past, not that there's anything worth talking about, but because he just doesn't know the extent of his lore (and I'm still figuring it out). All he knows is that he was found as a baby, adopted, and goes to RSA. No information about his birth parents or anything. His adoptive father deflects his queries and Thora has learned to let it go, but of course, he still thinks about it.

UNIQUE MAGIC - 'Bladed Ambition'

Emitting bright energy from his person, Thora summons a massive white sword that he could control with a wave of his arm. The sword stays at a constant size of a two story building and destroys the space around it to make room for itself (when summoned). It lasts for roughly a minute before it dissipates, leaving only rubble. Rather simple.

Takes a HUGE amount of mana, so he's wary about using it because of the blot.

TLDR: Thora makes a giant blade Raiden Shogun style, and deletes your world.

TRIVIA

A few of Thora's close friends assume he has, like, a long-distance girlfriend or something. Thora only rolls his eyes but he thinks it's rather funny.

They're both very strong mages, like, very. In their lore, Thora mostly got his tutoring from Erinne herself who was getting tutored by the queen all the while (sharing the hack, basically). They learned both swordsmanship and magical techniques. Thora excelled more with swordsmanship and hand-to-hand, while Erinne excelled with magic. Ironically, Thora's UM is more destructive than hers.

Mentioned in the previous post some time before but I wanted to expand on this, Thora secretly keeps a small kitten within his dorm room, of which he shares the secret with his roommate. How he got the thing into his dorm was the most frazzled he got; Thora was nearly caught by his own housewarden when he snuck it in. Luckily, he's a swift runner. (I placed him in the hypothetical Alice dormitory until there's confirmation of the dorms in RSA.) More about the above, his housewarden eventually found out but didn't care enough to do anything about it just as long as the kitten was fine (and just as long as he could pet it when he wants). Erinne knows about this.

Despite not seeming like it, both use chronically online terms whenever they're chatting or alone together.

Erinne, when she was four, tried eating a snail and probably would have died if she hadn't slipped on the mud instead. She never shares this vivid memory to anyone.

Erinne is NOT a crowned princess.

I got tired of RSA's uniforms and decided to branch out entirely, barely keeping a few motifs but Thora's attire looks entirely new and might resemble RSA if you look hard enough.

Regarding Erinne's character history, she had many names starting with the oldest that I could remember; Elowyn, Elvira, Eiran, Eryl, Elias, Elissa, Adhika, Enlli, and Carmin. Each rendition alternated between boy and girl, the blue eyes staying consistent (with the exception of Carmin) while the hair ranged from being a light orange, blonde, black, white, pink, red, and red-golden. Her earliest concept was a Royal Sword Academy second-year with long, light orange hair.

About their hobbies; Thora is based on Taran, whose name might be based on the Celtic God of Thunder, Taranis, who was associated with the wheel. I decided to make the genius decision to have Thora be an absolute demon in doing crazy stunts with his blastcycle. He's a biker, basically. For Erinne, signing important things gives her a sense of power-tripping and it makes her feel happy and terrible at the same time.

A bit more of Thora's lore, Hen Wen from the movie and the books was supposed to be his adopted sister in her TWST form. That, or she is an orphan Yuu and the rest will meet during the Halloween event I'm still writing. This, or she becomes both Thora and Erinne's unofficial little sister who kicks off the events.

Erinne knows how to use a bow. She sucks at it, actually.

If in-game, Thora commonly uses fire attacks while Erinne does water ones. Both are heavy damage dealers.

In the original stories of both my sources (lol, click off if you haven't watched The Black Cauldron or read the Chronicles of Prydain and don't want spoilers), Taran and Eilonwy get together and even marry in the pentalogy.

pet peeves & dealbreakers: I like to think I'm pretty chill. I don't think I have a deal breaker per say other than like bigotry. I try to work any differences out. I do have a couple of pet peeves and I guess a deal breaker is that you get a mutual, you'll start talking and getting excited about a plot idea, you make a starter, and it never gets replied to. The person you plotted with stops responding to you. This is a sure way to getting softblocked / blocked, sad to say, I just don't want to pour my heart and soul into something and have it not go anywhere, and if communication stops, it snuffs out my desire to rp with you. Now of course I have some moots we purely wing it and don't speak much, that's kinda different, I don't know how to explain it, but I am talking about those who wants to be " friends " and mutuals, and when you try to be friends, they just don't respond or they take over a week to respond to you. Life yes, I know, but it takes two minutes to be like " Hey, let's talk later, life is hectic at the moment. " It spears a lot of hurt feelings, I think.

A pet peeve that could potentially get you softblocked is liking a starter that specifically says " hey multis, pick your muse. " bc I don't like picking people's muses for them, just throw me the one you feel most strongly about. I have it in my starters specifically, and if you don't pick your muse, im sorry but you're not getting a starter until you do, and i don't mind at all messaging you and asking, and even helping pick, but at the end of the day its your blog. If you like my plotting call, and I come to you, and don't have a general idea what you want, or at least putting input in an idea, this rubs me the wrong way. Why like my plotting call if you have no plots?

and I'm not talking about like vague ideas that we can throw out there and see what sticks, I am talking about the instances of me messaging you and you be like " i don't know..." or " I have no ideas. " That puts all the work on one party and that's not very fair. Its okay not to have an idea, but don't like my plotting calls until you got something, plot generators exist too.

PLOTS OR MEMES:  both!!! i like both a lot! they're very situational because not everyone has the time to hunker down and plot stuff, or they just may not have the spoons or whatever other reason. plots are fun because you can get really in-depth and talk long term/potential ideas. memes are easy to use since, yknow, they already have ideas to build off of.

LONG OR SHORT REPLIES: i really don't mind either way, all i ask is that i'm not given one-liners if it's a serious rp. if it's some crack/one-shot, then whatever! but if we actually plotted something out, it'd devastate me if i was just met with like, one to three lines. to me, it says "i'm not really interested in this but i'm putting up with it." another thing i don't really want is to CONSTANTLY reply with like... 600+ words... i love writing a lot, i love setting up the exposition and doing dialogue, etcetc-- but i don't want to write out Every Single Detail or Every Single Thought about my character/my character has for EACH response, you know?

i dont know actually! i guess i just didn't want to draw eggs 🤔... i mean, they're cute on the server, like, the models and everything are very sweet, but when you draw them its literally a white oval with legs and a hat and that's it, i just find it a bit boring... plus before i started watching qsmp i saw a lot of people drawing eggs as little dragon kids that have traits of both their human parents, and i thought it was very cute and awesome that the fandom collectively decided on that! but because im me and because i like character design (and don't like "human with a mask", "human in a costume", "human with diferent colored hair" designs. nothing against them but its a pet peeve of mine) i decided to draw them as baby dragons instead! allows me to draw a bunch of visually different dragons and experiment with designs and shapes and colors, since a more complex design introduces more detail than otherwise will be on a plain egg.

plus i don't really follow canon when drawing, i just kinda do whatever is fun even if in canon it doesn't really make sense? like, im drawing whatever makes me happy and i really love thinking about designs and characteristics and their implications, so its like a good and fun challenge to come up with a look for a new character i find! like drawing your fav as a cat or a pony

yeah to me it's like. if someone repeatedly implies to you that they are queer (or outright says it!!! ffs!) then you ought to believe them. stop assuming straight is the default. don't be a freak about it and expect a bunch of shit from them, roier is pretty tight-lipped about super personal stuff, but don't just assume he can't be queer unless he makes a multiparagraph statement on twitter or a whole coming out video.

i took this out of another post because i didn't want to go on too much about it, but personally ive always been bothered by the importance placed on coming out as a one-time hugely revealing event. it has never been the case for me, i think it muddies the waters of how queerness actually operates, and in terms of treating public figures with respect while still acknowledging their identities, it feels really shitty to insist that a bisexual man isn't actually bisexual unless you have a laundry list of proof, at which point he will still be doubted because people hate bisexuals. if a guy repeatedly talks about being into men and women and that's not enough for you, i don't know what to tell you. go hang out with more bisexuals, i guess.

but yeah like. idk i don't love the pressure people put on coming out, especially for public figures. and considering how many bi men in particular in the public eye have to continuously come out/get rewritten as anything else, it's just frustrating. hank green has come out like ten times since 2013!!! and only this year did people actually believe it and talk about it! and bi women get treated as a fetish or as secretly straight, because people cannot imagine bisexuality as anything beyond a phase or a transition point between being straight and monosexually gay. in the words of lani kaʻahumanu, bisexual and feminist activist, "bisexual is a whole, fluid identity" ("The Bisexual Manifesto," Anything That Moves, 1990).
