Hello gpi fandom it's been a while are we still alive........ I'll start actually posting my art (I have a LOT grins) I pinky promise. But. Enjoy this absurdly long text post where I go insane for now....

Thinking a lot about. Doug and Corey's respective family situations and whatnot... Because. A lot of your issues and stuff can stem from your childhood and. What kind of people your parents were.......

Specifically interested in.... Corey's mother. I think she was like freakishly similar to him. Her stomach hurt just like Corey's did when he had "bad thoughts"....... I think they both just had all the same issues (this includes. ocd because I refuse to believe Corey doesn't have ocd. Sue me, I'm right) Like when he was a kid the thought that whatever was "wrong" with him, his mother had also gone through comforted him. Because she was fine and normal right? Once he gets a little older he starts noticing that maybe she isn't as great as he thought she was. She doesn't even bother to hide all of the pills she takes (does she need half of those?) anymore and she stops going outside when she smokes. She leaves when Corey's around 12 or so, before he can actually process that his mother might've been struggling. She just takes her things and moves out one day. Maybe that's where Corey gets his impulse to run away from. In fact, he grows into everything she was, even though he doesn't know her anymore. He eventually starts smoking just like she did and he starts to realize he's turning into his mother. And how could he ever be like someone he resented so much? She left him with his father after all, and he never really cared about Corey that much. Then, out of nowhere, Corey hears from her again, except this time she's dead. And of course it was her stomach. He's destined to die the same way his mother did. That's the last thing he thinks about before passing out from the gash in his stomach. At least he got to choose when it would happen.

I feel like this makes even more sense in the og version with Kayleen, and that's probably what they were kind of going for with her. There's this one line in the script that they cut for the Brehmer Theatre production, "You know what my dad said when I told him [that she died]? [DOUG: What?] He started crying and told me she was a better woman than I'd ever be"

Getting a bit sick of all the "ooh I'm so glad Laios has a soft body!" "Laios is built like an average guy" style posts. Because he doesn't and isn't.

Laios is built like a fucking professional wrestler. He isn't like, super chiseled or anything but he does not have an "average" body, he his built like someone who does a LOT of physical effort and training.
