ok. next step. do you know what an unreliable narrator is and can you separate the character's perspective and opinions from the writers? because i promise you that the beliefs of the main character do not always reflect the writers and the point of analyzing media is to dissect that.

random thought: so there's that one episode where lincoln uses his powers to get werner von strucker out of the trance that the memory machine put him in because our brain is run by electricity. it would've been cool to see him master that side of his abilities if he hadn't died. like when we talk electricity powers we always think of shocking people and messing with electronics and whatnot. and it totally makes sense, if he can manipulate electricity in electronics like we see him do, it makes sense he can do the same thing for brains. and since he was doing residency, you could play on that to. make him switch fields to neuroscience so that he can have as much of an understanding of the human mind as possible. then use his powers to do i don't even know what. aos showed one canon example with strucker, but there's so much stuff he could do. like, if any of y'all have read michael vey, look to those books as examples. heck, maybe lincoln could've learned to do even more cool electricity stuff that michael vey shows!

sorry it took so long. I was really unhappy with a couple sections and decided to stop bitching about how unhappy I was with them on tumblr and take the time to rewrite them to a standard that I would actually be happy posting… which I thought would take like a week… silly compacflt… always triple the amount of time I estimate i might need… so sorry I’ve been MIA. ive been working on this the whole time.

but now I’m actually really happy with these. And with their completion, it means this series is over. I think this is an ending I can actually be proud of, now. so for me it was worth it.

also i think i should reiterate, these aren’t supposed to be read all at once, i just thought it would be crazy to post these dozens of individual one-shots as their own chapters. that’s crazy. Lol. so you can treat them like chapters if you want. or don’t. I’m not your mom

ok it's rly stupid but discacc chapter 42 felt so weird writing not for anything in the chapter but bc i wrote it outside of my normal active chapter document. for the most part. LIKE i have this one document that i use for writing all my discacc chapters and HAVE since like way way way early on. like since chapter 2 ish early on? bc things were getting too long it was freaking out the doc & also it's easier to copy-paste new chapters into ao3 if i just have that chapter there. so i have my main fic thing (well, multiple, since discacc is too long to fit into one document lmfaoo) & then i write new chapters in this active chapter doc & then copy paste them into the main thing once im done

so 42 was originally a part of 41. it was all gonna be chapter 41. and i wrote like 4.6k words of it in active document with chapter 41. then decided it was gonna be its own thing, so i just plopped that bit into its own document to cut it from the active chapter doc. but then. when it came time to continue it in chapter 42. i just. didnt move it back to the active chapter document. i just kept writing in separate document '42'.

and idk there's just smth that feels so WEIRD about that. like it wasn't a normal discacc chapter or smth. which is kinda stupid but idk. like i couldve moved it back over at any point. but i didnt. bc i was already there

anyways im looking forward to writing again in "DA active chapter" doc aka the RIGHT doc for discacc writing. thank you very much

They don't feel too bad for me, but I also don't post all that often. And as much as I like to think I'm immune to wanting validation, I'm really not. I really like getting notes and asks, especially in my fandoms.

Anyway, to all my fandom mutuals, if I didn't like or reblog one of your posts that doesn't mean I disliked it! I trawl through the fandom tag occasionally (well, one of my fandoms) and have seen every post tagged with it within the past year and enjoyed all of them. Sometimes I just don't hit the like button for some reason. Thank you all for your analysis posts and fanfic posts and fanart posts.

Feeling rundown and watching DR2 LP again (it’s very long, I need to take breaks and stuff okay) while fiddling with textures while I try not to feel too sick, and it is the Peko trial, and like.

Man. I know not everyone is gonna play a game and meet a character and go “oh! You have a shit ton of trust issues and are afraid of intimacy and as such you are being very aggressive and threatening as a protective measure to keep yourself from getting hurt in an unfamiliar and therefore threatening environment. I immediately understand, identify with and adore you.” So like. The idea that like… there are people who didn’t like Fuyuhiko until this trial and the repercussions that come from it, and like. Fully bought into his mask of foul language and violence because they like… I guess assumed baby Yakuza would not actually have Yakuza experiences.

It does tickle me a little bit every time one of the darker elements of DR comes up and it’s just kind of like “oh, right. The Kids Aren’t Alright. That’s what’s going on. There’s a layer of whimsy but like. Society *is* failing to meet the needs of our children by pushing them constantly to be excellent, placing all our hopes and dreams of our futures onto them without giving them any adequate support or room to grow and thrive as children and ultimately turning them against each other as the only people they have the power to express their frustration and anger out on because of how powerless we’ve made them despite how much responsibility we’ve given them.”

Again I really only know the first 2 games but like. That is my understanding of the theme. I know there’s like… a million other side material things about the like… cult and like. The VR simulation killing game and like… other stuff. But like. Honestly I feel like I just like the simplicity of the theme without going into the actual like… “how did the apocalypse happen” stuff… idk. I don’t care as much about that stuff..
