Journal Entries. (2)

These are all mood journal entries (so super short / concise) of mine; where I chart my daily moods over a period of time.

These chronicle the time right before I scheduled an appointment with a psychiatrist (March) and when I started medication (antidepressants) for my depression / fatigue.

NOTE: These don't contain any long thoughts, literally just mood observations. But I think it does a pretty good job at showing just how inconsistent and sudden mood episodes / switching can be, and why they're so debilitating for trying to live a normal everyday life. I added some gifs / pictures for rando visuals LOL. Truly complete the reading experience 🤪.

March 27th, 2021

Slept: 4am. Woke: 4pm

Mood: 2/10 Energy: Neutral (Maybe a 2/10)

I just feel empty. Like I need to go hibernate/go back to sleep. I’m not hungry. I’m not particularly motivated, and I kind of wish my sister would sit down and watch Hannibal with me and my mom, so it bums me out that she continues to put that off/ignore it.

I’m tired, man. It’s 8:21 pm, and I’m already thinking about going back to bed. When my family hangs out, I can be mindless and just let their good mood and entertainment take over. Other than that, I don’t feel particularly interested in doing anything, though I know I should. I have things to do. I don’t even feel bad about not doing anything. Just empty. Just ready to sleep.

I was kinda so depressed from the doctor’s visit and loss of money that even with the meds, it couldn’t stop me from sleeping. LOL.

Tuesday July 13th 2021 (19th)

I feel so tired…fatigued….

Slept four hours

Overall energy: 3/10

Mood:4.5:10

Napped for three hours, had dinner + caffeinated tea and I feel shaky-awake.

Bruh I did not sleep (for the 16th) at all 💀💀💀.

Friday, July 16th, 2021 (22nd)

Haha going to bed right after I took my meds 😛🤷

This week idk. It’s been weird? Like tired and then also hyper fixated on nonsense =DD.

Why (2:40 pm) am I so tired? Don’t want to do anything.

(Currently Saturday morning, 6;22 am and I can’t sleep. I’m NOT tired. But I want to sleep.)

This is the WORST.

Literally went to sleep at 1am and woke up at 4:15 pm. Wtf? (I slept 16hrs LOL)

Today was a good day, I got more work done than yesterday :)).

(3:19, Thursday am): laid down and tried to sleep but now I feel more awake than ever.

Thursday July 29th 2021 (37th)

Went to bed last night at 8am, woke up at 4:33 pm. (I hate not being able to fall asleep. Is it because I slept for 16 hrs the previous night? #sucks.)

I have plenty of energy (I haven’t taken my meds yet) and yet I feel like I’m going insane. I. Can’t do anything right. Why why why why why must I continue to be a failure? I had something good going for me wtf is wrong with me? I don’t want to wake up anymore

(Slept till 9pm, it’s 8:22 am Sunday and I’m still awake. But on the plus side I’m not careening dangerously into another mental breakdown.,,yet)

Sunday August 1st 2021 (40th)

I haven’t slept yet today

General mood: hmmm 5/10 (12:18pm)

I do feel a little tired but that’s probably because I’ve been up since 9pm.

Generally tho I’m feeling pretty okay. (Guess we’ll see how the rest of today goes lol.)

The Destiel Folder: Season 5

[Season 4 here]

Episode 1:

Dean is visibly upset about Cas' death, especially at (6:07), and Zachariah notices. From here on, we have a progressive worse reaction from Dean to each of Castiel's deaths

Dean calls Cas a 'friend', again sounding very upset (8:20)

We also get a parallel between Dean and Sam: "I learned that from my friend Cas, you son of a bitch!" and "I learned that from Ruby." (9:10) ICWAW, this parallel would implicate romantic subtext

Cas comes back, bringing top energy onto Zachariah, and Dean just... checks him out (32:43) [this is a frequent thing by the way, I'm on S10 right now, it is]

Episode 2:

I'm so fuckin sorry but I'm laughing too hard at this: D"God" C"Yes" D"God" C"Yes!" (4:09) guys, don't sex-talk in front of Sam and Bobby

"I rebelled, and I did it, all of it, for you." (4:54)

Dean gives in to Cas' top energy "Dean, give it to me." (5:53) shit, guys, enough sex-talk

Episode 3:

The 'personal space scene'. Dean, love, if someone is in your personal bubble, and you don't want them there, you don't stand there for 10 seconds while flicking your gaze from their eyes to their lips TWICE (6:04) ICWAW, these scene would be read as full of sexual tension

Dean here compares himself and Cas to Thelma & Louise, from a movie with HELLA lesbian subtext. And the way he looks at Cas for 7 seconds, tongue between his teeth and just... this fucking look (7:37)

You don't look at friends that way. You don't.

"I need your help, because you're the only one who'll help me. Please". (7:58) Cas trusts Dean will help him while no other would, and he is right... also Dean keeps glancing at his lips

The way Dean fixs Cas' tie and collar, so domestic. (10:34) [This will parallel in 10x05 when Dean messes up musical!Castiel's tie for it to be a legit costume.] Also, the whole police station scene is full of Old married couple moments

"There are two things that I know for certain. One, Bert and Ernie are gay." And then they were voted best chemestry couple like Bert and Ernie. Just saying. (16:23) "Two, you are not gonna die a virgin. Not on my watch... let's go."... and Cas just follows Dean like nothing, but later on...

... Cas is beyond terrified at the idea of being intimate with a woman (11:24),

tho he followed Dean with no problem. ... Did... did he think Dean was making an offer?

He chugs down a beer in fear, poor baby

And he is so jumpy I'm dying

Dean admits Cas is the only one who has made him laugh for real in years (20:58), also, shoulder hug, and Cas, who was on the verge of tears a moment earlier, is smiling and comfortable now.

"Don't look at me, it was his idea." (26:57) the look Cas gives Dean, they're so fucking #MARRIED

"Today you're my little bitch." "... What he said!" Dean is impressed and amused by Cas' smugness (and top energy) (31:55) Basically "Well, mark me down as scared and horny!"

Dean understands how Cas feels, and wants to help. He says he feels good with him "I've had more fun with you in the past 24h that I've had with Sam in years... and you're not that much fun." (36:06) Dean doesn't want to be alone, didn't want Cas to leave.

Episode 4:

Dean sounds and looks like a teenager on the phone with their crush, teasing Cas while smiling softly (1:22). Also "I'll just... wait here then." (2:15)

Even as a mortal, Cas stuck with Dean through the apocalypse, living in pain, chugging down drugs, but never leaving Dean's side. Being his second during hunts. Having only each other

And this Cas can recognize this Dean is not his own only by glancing at him for a moment (... by looking at his dick?!) (18:37)

Dean is stunned and concerned about apocalypse!Cas and how his life turned out

Apocalypse!Cas sits like Dean. Aww, they've been rubbing off on each other [yeah, I bet] (22:27)

"I like past you!" and that smile. So sweet and nostalgic (25:35)

This whole scene (23:48). They are so #MARRIED

Dean is concerned about Cas doing drugs, being basically depressed and living like shit (28:03)

Cas saves Dean again. "We had an appointment." "...Don't ever change." and the way they stare at each other (38:49) look at those smiles and how longingly Cas looks at Dean

Episode 8:

Not a destiel moment, but Dean is totally BI: (12:04); "Sure" (12:42); "What makes Dr Sexy, SEXY, is that he wears cowboy boots!" (12:57); and Dean loves cowboys, just saying

Is... is Dean thinking about Cas being pretty? And about the fact that a creepy guy just called his angel 'pretty'? (20:26)

First thing Dean requests Gabe does is to bring Cas back, threatening him

Episode 9:

Dean reacting to Damien and Barnes being a couple is... LOL (36:27) and after that (38:40), he is on his own, fiddling with his keys, smiling to himself. And when Sam asks if he is okay, he responds "Yeah, you know? I think I'm good." while still smiling to himself. Is he happy about an queer man portraying him, about seeing himself in a confident, openly queer man in a relationship? What else could it be?

Episode 13:

Dean gets more and more worried when Cas gets/is hurt (9:45)(38:02). Also, he got Cas a honeymoon suite. Wow. How sweet.

Episode 14:

The phone call scene. The stares, the tension... look at this shit (10:00)

Dean, stop checking out Cas. You're working. But seriously, look at him. He likes his roughness. AND AGAIN WITH THE LIPS STARING (11:02)

Dean and Cas, after being touched by a cherub, stand shoulder-to-shoulder close to each other, in front of a bi-coloured window (13:26-13:33) I MEAN- Also, Dean, you're staring at a naked man's dong... just saying (13:33-13:36)... stop that, be a professional

Is this the first wink Dean gives at Cas? (14:37) for real? With a cherub in the room? Wow.

(16:16) "Where did he go?" "I belive you upset him." Look at Cas during this scene. #MARRIED

Cas asks Dean where his Famine-induced-hunger is, why he seems unaffected by it... and Dean stares at Cas, then the burger he is holding, then back at him, like he has everything he could want right there, in his Baby (29:22)

Episode 16:

... I'm sorry, but... did Cas really have to MOAN Dean's name to get his attention? (5:24)

I believe this is the first time we ever hear Dean say the words "I love you" (14:38-28:09), and he is saying them to Sam. The only other time we hear him say it is to his mother in 12x22. And the only other person he was supposed to say those words to was, in fact, Cas in 8x17. Let that sink in.

"You son of a bitch." Dean's been rubbing off on Cas, and this is not the only line he has picked up from Dean (38:29)

Episode 17:

This is such a sweet scene. Cas is showing himself weak once again, and Dean sympathises with him, reassures him, confides in him. How sweet. (30:17) ICWAW, this would be seen as a romantic bonding moment

Episode 18:

Cas legit looks like an angry wife. Look how pissed he is at Dean (6:19) #MARRIED

This is such a #MARRIED scene, with Cas being pissy at Dean "being a coward". Also "Yeah, you know what? Blow me, Cas!" and his look after that, like "Does... does he actually want me to?" (13:22)

and this is not the last 'sexual invitation' Dean makes Cas. In fact, minutes later...

"Cas, not for nothing, but, the last person who looked at me like that... I got laid. *wink*" ... just... that (17:53). ICWAW, people would believe this was flirtatious, SHAMELESS, teasing

Look at that FULL TOP MODE tho

"I gave everything for you, and this is what you give to me?" (25:28) Cas is not just angry at Dean for giving up on the plan, but for giving up on life, on them. "So you could surrender to them?" (25:17) not "So you can let them win". It could've been phrased that way, but this is not about the angels winning. It's about Dean giving up on them. Cas is 'cause Dean would be selfishly leaving them

Cas starts taking off his tie and... Dean just stares (31:46). Moments later, we find out Cas totally took his shirt off in front of the boys to make the banishing simbol on his chest, and by the way Dean was STARING when it was only a tie, I bet he either gawked or averted his eyes. Either way, GAY

Cas prefers to die rather than watch Dean fail and die himself (31:55) Also, Sam still thinks of Dean as a hero who can do no wrong, while Cas recognizes his flaws and weaknesses. He knows Dean

Zachariah grabs Dean by the collar and gets in his face. Dean does nothing but flinch a little, mantaining his strong appearance. He only submits and looks overwhelmed when Cas does it (37:50)

Episode 19:

Cas is priority to Dean over Adam. He's more family to him than his actual blood (5:29)

Episode 21:

Cas is basically human, bloody, hurt, powerless and weak. First thing he does? Reach out for Dean (3:16)

Cas is still weak and powerless, and took a bus for miles, just to get back to Dean (12:35)

Episode 22:

Moments before basically going and kill himself, Dean focuses on Cas instead of Bobby, his father figure (24:35)

Cas is on the verge of tears at the thought of Dean dying (25:20)

We know Cas can heal without having to touch the body, but we always see him reach for contact with Dean (35:52) [That's why in S15, it hurts to see Cas not touching Dean while healing him. It feels unnatural]

Dean loves cowboys, and associates Cas to a sheriff. Cas, knowing that, smiles softly at the idea(37:30). Also, Dean obviously doesn't want Cas to leave, and tears up when he does

Day 14

I get through security. It’s always a painful even, especially in America. Have to practically strip just to stand in a machine that tells everyone what I’ve already known. 

No gun here the machine says with a green light and a beep.

As if I’d need one. 

It’s been delayed several hours for a reason I’ve yet to figure out. The weather looks clear, planes are moving in and out. People on other flights are still departing on time. 

The only reasonable explanation I’ve come up with is the airline is incompetent. 

“Snow,” I say, putting a finger in my right ear, trying to ignore the man screaming at the poor help desk person. “I may not be back until tomorrow.”

I look at the clock. Even if we left now I wouldn’t get home until midnight.

“What? Why?” He asks. His voice sounds frantic.

I hate worrying him.

“This airline work flew me through is set upon ruining my life,” I growl under my breath. 

The service representatives have been berated enough, they don’t need me coming after them as well. (Even if I want to.)

(Crowley do I want to.)

“Right now it doesn’t have us leaving for another two hours, so at earliest I won’t be home until 3 in the morning. With the trend of how this has been going, I won’t be surprised if it gets canceled altogether.”

He huffs.

“I miss you.”

It comes out as a whisper, any quieter, and I would have missed it.

It’s not that he’s ashamed of saying it. We’ve said it a lot over the past two weeks.

He’s sad. I am too. I was supposed to be home by dinner. We were going to order takeaway and watch a movie, kiss and makeup for lost time.

Ignore all responsibilities of the world around us for the evening. 

“I miss you too.” I face the large windows, looking at planes that aren’t mine leaving the runway. 

The blasted airport is under construction too. Everyone said to fly in and out of La Guardia because it is easier, but I’m wondering if I should have taken JFK. 

“I’ll be home as soon as I can.”

“You better. Preferably before I drink more spoiled milk.”

“Stay away from all dairy products until I return,” I chuckle into the phone. 

An announcement comes over the intercom.

“They’re announcing another delay, I’m sure,” I groan. “I’ll send you a text.”

“I love you,” he says from the other side.

“I love you too,” I respond, ending the call and slipping it into my pocket. 

(14:36): I hope you get home soon.

(14:36): Threaten to suck their blood, or something.

(14:36): I’m sure that would work.

(14:36): 😘 😘.

(14:37): You’re an idiot, Snow.

(14:37): XO.

Day 15, 4:16

I turn my key in the door, trying to quietly walk into the flat. My suitcase softly rolls against the wood behind me as I pull it in, letting it sit next to the door.

Unpacking can happen after I get at least fourteen hours of sleep. 

I place a brown paper sack of scones on the kitchen table.

I couldn’t resist. The shop next to us had just opened, and I knew it would make him smile. 

I continue down the hallway, stopping only to take a piss.

In our room, still blanketed in darkness apart from the street lights coming from the road beside us, Simon softly snores. 

He still sleeps on his side of the bed while I’m away. It makes my heart feel softer than I’d like to admit. 

One hand rests next to his head, his wings spread out across the bed.

I change clothes, relieving myself of all the feelings of travel before softly lifting a wing to get under the blanket and allow him to cover me again.

I don’t have long to process the fact that I’m with him again before I feel something wrap around my calf. 

I pause for a moment before I remember.

The tail.

He is, for all I can tell, still asleep. Meaning it’s recognized I’m here and is saying hello in its own way.

I rub it softly with my other foot.

It dislikes not getting attention, you see.

Simon’s mouth is open as he breathes deeply. I think his pillow is a little wet.

I’d call it disgusting (it is, truly), but I missed him so much that I can’t help but smile.

I risk moving closer and kiss his cheek softly, trying not to wake him up.

I know he hasn’t slept well without me.

(I haven’t either, without him.)

Side effect of sleeping for so many years in that tower. We both got dreadfully used to hearing the other breathe, the way we each navigated and slept.

At this point, I think even his snoring lulls me to sleep.

(I still complain about it, however.)

An arm wraps behind my back and pulls me close.

He takes a deep breath, and when I pull back I see one eye open.

“Hey there,” he says, voice hoarse with sleep. 

“Your breath smells.” I lean in, kissing his forehead. 

“Well your hair is greasy,” he replies, pulling me into a kiss, his hand moving to my hair. 

“You don’t seem to mind it.”

He hums in response.

I pull him tighter. I need to feel this. Everything. 

His lips.

His hands.

His chest against mine.

“And you don’t seem to mind the morning breath,” he states, smiling at me as we break for a moment.

I open my mouth to retort but he puts a finger to my lips, shushing me.

“No talking, only kissing,” he whispers. “I’ve not kissed my fiancé in decades.”

He leans in but I pull back for a moment.

“It’s been two weeks, Snow.”

January 27 was a day when I got to play tour guide for my friend Gricel and her husband when they were in SF visiting for the first time.

June 30 was the day I attended my first ever CalShakes performance with Maya and our mutual friend Paola (Girls Gone Sensibly Wild continued!), and Maya also got me on a bike for the first time in ages, thanks to LimeBikes being available at the Pleasant Hill BART station. August 3-6 was when I somewhat unexpectedly had the delight of hosting my friend Clarise for a weekend visit. We drove down to Pacifica for the International Dog Surfing competition and I schooled her in the ways of California wine as much as I could with my limited knowledge.

The following weekend, August 9-13, I had a lovely time hosting and touring around with my 16 year old niece, and got to introduce her to the joy that is Santa Cruz. And yoga with goats!

August 30-Sept. 4 was when I hosted (this is a recurring theme in August, isn’t it?) my Aunt Sherrie for local sightseeing and a road trip up to Lake Tahoe.

Sept. 22-24 saw me heading down to L.A. for my cousin Katie’s wedding and some work meetings. It was the first time in ages that I got to connect with that specific branch of my family, and get to know them a bit better.

Sept. 29 was my first AFSP walk in Sac. And i was joined by Jade, her visiting mom, and her three little ones.

Sept. 30 was the really long hair session with Mason that helped solidify that we were legit friends (and included a shared sunset from the window of his hair studio!) and a quick follow up appointment on Oct. 3 allowed us to enjoy a rainbow and storm together.

Oct. 19-21 saw Maya and I doing another Girls Gone Sensibly Wild road trip. Back to Peachy Canyon to pick up some wine, and also Pismo Beach and Santa Maria for our first visit to a really lovely winery called Foxen.

Oct. 26 was quite possibly my all-time favorite Brian Fallon performance. It was just him alternating between his acoustic guitar and an electric piano, and he was joined by Craig Finn from The Hold Steady, who also did his own acoustic set.

Oct. 27 I got to introduce my new friend Torrey to the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg, and we did a fun wine and Halloween candy pairing and some epic day drinking.

Nov. 3 saw me reuniting with my Cal crew and a sprinkling of East Bay friends at Fillmore Karaoke, for an epic night of loud singing as an early celebration of my 40th bday. So much wine. Actually too much, but for a birthday, that’s acceptable!

Nov. 4-6 I was in Indianapolis for work, and though the work part wasn’t particularly memorable, I was super honored and thrilled that my BFF Dawn drove all the way down from Joliet IL with her two boys to have dinner with me on my first night there.

Nov. 9 was an epic Local H show in Sac. Also a welcome break in the midst of a period of forced solitude, after the Camp Fire residual smoke prompted my whole office to work from home for about a week to protect us from the terrible air quality.

Nov. 18 was the day we had the beautiful service honoring the life of a beloved professor who passed.

Nov. 24-29 was my trip to Cabo with my Aunt Sherrie, and was also my official bday celebration.

Dec. 9-12 was my DC trip, which also allowed me to catch up with my friend Max, who lives in Baltimore, and my friend Stacey, who also happened to be there for her own work purposes.

Dec. 15 was my full day of yoga retreating at Green Gulch Ranch in Marin, and then I drove to the East Bay to catch up with Maya at Calicraft, which is one of our favorite craft distilleries in the area.

Dec. 16 was a white elephant celebration in Pleasant Hill that allowed me to unexpectedly meet a new, interesting friend.

08. What was your biggest achievement of the year? So far, meeting all expectations at my new job and closing a major gift earlier than is required. Also not losing my shit during the condo selling process, even though there were a lot of reasons to do so.

09. What was your biggest failure? I wrote VERY little fiction. But I did dip my toe back into writing in general, so I guess there’s that. 10. Did you suffer illness or injury? I took a tumble at home that left my tailbone a bit tender about a month ago. But otherwise, no, pretty healthy, even after getting rear-ended in my car! 11. What was the best thing you bought? Various travel tickets, both air and rail. A beautiful new necklace that I found at the holiday market in D.C. All the concert tickets that provided soul-fueling live music.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

Mine! I adjusted to a new job and an unfamiliar setting and managed to acquire a few new friends while also maintaining the East Bay friendships that meant the most to me. 13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Who else but certain immediate family members? 14. Where did most of your money go? Rent. Travel. Wine, and to a lesser extent, craft beer, now that I’ve picked up a taste for stouts and sours. 15. What song will always remind you of 2018?

I’m driving to Santa Cruz on Xmas Eve and treating myself to an overnight stay so that I can indulge in my happy place and a sunset hike. Also get to celebrate Boxing Day for the first time with my friend Jade and her brood back in Sac.

20. How will you be spending/did you spend New Year’s Eve? Original plan was to hang at my friend Jade’s place with her kids, movies and snacks. But just learned the wee ones are ill, so now I’m not sure what I’m doing. That was how I spent last year (the original plan, that is), with the main difference being that last year I also went to a two-hour yin workshop beforehand, which was how I discovered my current yoga studio, and discovered how much I enjoy yin practice in general. 21. Did you fall in love in 2018?

No. But I made more effort to pursue it, and had more options than I think I’ve ever had in a single year. Which was kind of encouraging even if each one was relatively short-lived.

22. How many one-night stands? I always laugh when I read this question. How about I just wink knowingly and say a lady never tells? 23. What was your favorite TV program? Supernatural. iZombie. To a lesser extent, Riverdale, even though I’m still pretty behind on that one. Sons of Anarchy (which I know is old but I’m playing catchup via Netflix and Hulu) And as a guilty pleasure, Total Divas. And of course, I'm still casually following WWE on the WWE network, though the only thing I’m finding compelling aside from the women’s matches are the Brits featured on the UK specific programming. 24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? No, I don't think so. 25. What was the best book you read? I finally got into the Harry Potter series and I’m really enjoying it. I just finished the Order of the Phoenix, and have the next installment requested from the library. 26. What was your greatest musical discovery? Not entirely new, but my appreciation for Cory Branan was reinforced and amplified after seeing him in Santa Barbara. And I’m also on a rediscovery tear with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Cold War Kids.

27. What did you want and get? Reassurance that this move to Sac was the right next step, after I settled in to my new role relatively easily. 28. What did you want and not get? Romantic love for an extended period. More down time. 29. What was your favorite film(s) of this year? Bohemian Rhapsody, even though I know it had some historical inaccuracies.

A Quiet Place was hard because of the ending, but decent as well.

And the latest Halloween was hella satisfying, especially since I caught it after needing an escape after learning about the passing of the professor I mentioned earlier.

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I prepped for my Cabo departure, went exploring at the Cosumnes River Trail, which is also a bird sanctuary, and caught the movie Widows with my work friend Christine. Then she took me to Panera for dinner. Couldnt’ do much more than that since I had a 5 am flight the following morning. I turned 40.

31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Love, as always. 32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2018? Activewear as much as possible. But never enough. 33. What kept you sane? My friends. The various trips I took and rock shows I attended. Junk food. Wandering in nature.

37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2018 Never underestimate my own ability to adapt to new situations, and to handle my own shit like a boss. I had a few challenging things thrown at me, namely the condo selling process, and the logistical gymnastics that followed after having to bring my car in for a bumper repair following a recent rear-ending, and though I felt tested by both of those situations, I ultimately succeeded at navigating both of them to a positive end.

Mom's Eye Care

Made a visit to Dr. Kailash Behari, Ophthalmology specialist, at Mayur Vihar for Mom's eye checkup. Cataract was found in her both eyes. Dr suggested AIIMS or any other good hospital for operation. We paid him 800 Rs for consulting.

Date: 02 Dec, 2021, Thu

In morning, cooked Aaloo-Sabji to serve Mom breakfast, took e-rickshaw for local AIIMS, reached there at 9:20 AM, All 50 tokens for the day had already been allotted, guard was not letting us in, on request he accepted, told us that card we would be issued at 10:30 AM. Mom was examined for her eye vision, diabetes and BP. BP we got done from outside in 20 Rs. She was referred to AIIMS Delhi, 7th Floor of Dr Rajendra Prasad Community Center building for cataract operation in both eyes.

In morning, woke up early, took bath, had breakfast, at 7:10 AM took e-rickshaw to Mayur Vihar - I metro station, reached AIIMS before 8:15 AM, searched the Community Center building for room number 783 in 7th floor of it. At 8:30 AM, we were at the reception area. Soon, cards were taken from us all for numbering. Again, she was checked for eye vision, BP, etc. At 12 PM, we were given 9 AM's Monday appointment, and advised to come up with full stomach.

Date: 06 Dec, 2021, Monday

Before 8:30 AM, we were in the building again. Again, patient card was taken from us at around 8:35 AM. Now, I was a little worried, till 11:00 AM I did not get any update. I asked them the reason. I was assured not to worry about it and they kept me waiting again. Soon, nine patients were admitted in 4th floor for the surgery, Mom was one of them.

At 1:00 PM each patient was served healthy lunch. Mom had all the chapaties with daal and half of the apple, I, the remaining leftover. At 2:00 PM in the afternoon, Mom was resting on her bed no 465. I decided to sit on common visiting area of 4th floor where floor cleaning with the help of a machine was making some noise now. Eye drops were told to put into the eyes of the patient in a quick interval of every two minutes. So, we did. Meanwhile, Mom and I had some biscuits and tea which I had fetched from 6th floor canteen. Soon they were taken for required checkups before the surgery. At 4:00 PM, they were back in the ward. Another test at 4:15 PM at 3rd floor in room no 379, some more tests were taken before the dinner.

In morning, tea was served. In breakfast, milk pouch, butter and two slices of breads were served. I also managed tea, samosas, biscuits on my behalf from roadside seller near the gate. I had forgotten bringing disposal glasses, had to go for them again.

Nurse came and squeezed some drops into the eyes of the patients. Doctor instructed me at around 8:30 AM to take Mom to 136, 1st floor, near the stair, straight for ultrasound in the day time on doctor's advice. Cotton-hot-water sikai 3 to 4 times to the patient's eyes was also told to perform. For this, we went outside with a water bottle to make it hot. In late afternoon, we were given hot water with cottons. Cleaning services are good, bedsheet was also replaced with a new one by the hospitality services.

At 1:30 PM we were told for Covid-19 test of the patient. We decided to take help from an outsider, phoned him. He took samples, scanned patient's aadhaar card, charged 400 Rs each from us for the same. In evening, after having hospital dinner, I was at outside road where I took Ramladdoo to eat for Rs 20, meanwhile Covid-19 report had been received and submitted to nurse. Patients were given white uniform to wear on operation day. Before 10:PM, we switched off room light.

We woke up early, got fresh, had outside breakfast, and wore the uniform, new mask, and cap before 7:00 AM. Eye drops were told to squeeze into one eye of the patients in every 10 minutes. Hospital morning breakfast had not yet been served. At 8:45 AM on the day, the patients were in operation theatre of fifth floor. Attendants were told forcibly not to sit or stand on the stairs by the guards. After the surgery at 10:00 AM Mom was taken back to her bed by the surgeon. She was the first in the list. I was surprised seeing her dressing up there near her bed at 10:35 AM. It is 1:00 PM now, Mom and I had the lunch, also waiting for other three patients to come back with their successful surgeries. It was 5:00 PM now, they were still in operation theatre. End of the day, all had been operated. In the evening nurse removed the cotton strip from Mom's eye, washed it and instructed me to put three types of eye drops into the eye in every 3 and 4 hours. First at 5-6, then 8-9 and so on. Mom was experiencing pain on upper and lower side of the eye, problem in clear vision also. I requested her to take necessary precautions and to wait for few more hours to overcome the conditions.

All patients were examined for their after the surgery vision. We were worried a little now as Mom's eye had turned reddish on right side and she still didn't have clarity in seeing distant objects. At 10:30 AM nurse came, gave the necessary treatment, medicines, precautions, next appointment date to each patient before the discharge from the ward. At 11:30 AM we were back on 7th floor visiting area. It was 12:34 PM now, no update. At 1:00 PM they let us out after delivering necessary precautions patients had to take after the surgery.

5. धूप, धूल, धुएँ व गन्दे पानी से आँखों को बचाएं, इसके लिए काले चश्में का प्रयोग करें|

6. आँखों को किसी प्रकार के चोट लगने से बचायें तथा भारी बोझ न उठायें|

7. आँख में अधिक लाली, दर्द होने अथवा नजर में अचानक कमी आने पर अपने नेत्र चिकित्सक से शीघ्र संपर्क करें|

About 90 percent of all escalator incidents involve senior citizens or small children.

Most accidents stem from carelessness while getting on and off.

I got Mom's attention paid to these helpful tips when using an escalator while traveling by Delhi Metro.

(1) Senior citizens should pay particular attention to balance while getting on and off an escalator. It is easy to lose balance because of the difference in momentum.

(2) We should check the direction of the escalator before boarding onto it, in which direction is it running upward or downward.

(3) Always to be extra careful while picking up feet and stepping on or off the escalator.

(4) We must stand in the center part of the step. We should never drag or slide our feet along the edge.

(5) We should always face forward and hold the handrail.

(6) We should not sit on the handrail.

(7) We should not lean against or reach over the sides of the escalator.

(8) We should Exit promptly from the escalator.

(9) We should never stop, stand or play at an escalator landing; this can cause a dangerous pileup.

(10) We must avoid boarding an escalator with a baby stroller, walker or packages.

(11) Loose shoe laces, drawstrings, scarves and mittens can get trapped in escalators.

(12) One must not ride an escalator if one is barefooted.

(13) To take extra precaution to avoid the sides of the escalator when wearing flip-flops or rubber-soled shoes.

(14) We should always hold children’s hands on escalators and should not permit children to sit or play on the steps.

(15) Caution signs posted on the escalator must be obeyed.

(16) We must use the emergency shutoff button if needed. The buttons are usually located at the entrances and exits of escalators.

Prayer and Fasting-Church Notes 01/07/2018 -God’s faithfulness is consistent. -We can hear from God in this message. What we do privately, God rewards openly. We need to enter into this season of prayer and fasting. -If we come into a new year, and prioritze God first, and invite Him into all areas of our lives, we will see real life miracles. -Paul fasted when God called him into ministry, gave him that call for his life. Reading: Acts 13:1-3 -Every assignment in our lives have a birth place. God is going to birth our purpose. The Bible discusses fasting 69 times. -We need to ask ourselves these things. What are my motives behind the fast? While we lose weight, it can’t be our primary reason. Cleanse your body, for digestive tract, that can’t be the reason. We shouldn’t want to do it, to keep up with other people. What is my specific need? What am I fasting for? Nowhere in the Bible do they have a fasting without a cause. What things are we wanting God to do in our lives for 2018? Are we determined to worship and minister to the Lord during the time of our fast? We can go on a fast, and there’s too many personal agendas that are about us, and not about Him. Fasting will always change us. It’s all about Him. We want to be like and closer to Him. If we aren’t serious about the fast, God won’t be serious about His response. As we fast, we draw closer to God. Reading: 1 Corinthians 10 -Idolatry is putting other things before God. Our stomachs are our flesh, and we need to take those off the throne, as we sacrifice them. -When we let Jesus be the Lord of our temple, our body, that says that we are going to put God in the rightful place in our lives. Reading: Esther 4:15 -We need to raise up a standard in our lives. -No meats, no sweets, no breads for 21 days, was the Daniel fast in the Bible. -God has a plan for all of our lives. He created our entire life, and put us in seed form in our mother’s womb. He knows our beginning from our end. He has a purpose for our life. -We need focus and clarity for our life. When Daniel fasted and prayed, God gave him vision. Vision often comes, but understanding is harder to come by. -The House of the Lord is important. It’s important to get to church. Online church was never meant to be a replacement of the House of God. -There is an appointed time where we fast. It’s a day of consecration and self-examination/evaluation. There are things in us that are not like God. Reading: Judges 20 -There’s something about moving into a new venture, without first bathing it and covering it with a season of fasting and prayer, as it prepares us for what is next. -We know we should do what’s right, but we continue to do what’s wrong. There’s power in fasting. -The purpose of humility, that will bring God to release His judgment in our life. We all have loved ones that we want to bring to Jesus. Reading: 1 Samuel 30 -When we fast, our health will spring forth speedily, the Bible says. Isaiah 58. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Fasting allows us to decrease, so God can increase. We can be a follower of Jesus and our flesh can still rule our life. Fasting takes our flesh off the throne, and puts Jesus back on it. -Jesus fasted for dominion and authority, for 40 days. -Instead of us controlling bad attitudes and thoughts, they are controlling us. No food is worth losing control of our lives over. -Adam lost dominion of the whole garden because he ate the wrong food. Jesus taught us to fast for dominion and authority, so things won’t control us. Reading: John 1 -There’s a fast for the right mate. Genesis 24. The person we choose to spend the rest of our lives with, we should look into the heart of that person, and not at their outward appearance. What I Got Out Of This Service: Fasting can occur on any given day or time. It is restraining from anything that could potentially replace our need for Christ, an addiction we may have, or something that is good for us, that we don’t always do, like a diet without meat, breads, or sweets. We have to realized that our body is a temple created by God, and we have to take care of it. We are gifted with one life, one soul, one body, so we should do everything we can to take care of ourselves. Our family and friends need us, and we have to be around for them as long as possible. That requires us to put aside those bad habits and addictions, and put God and Jesus first, where they should predominantly be in our lives always. God created us, and He wants us to come to Him for whatever we need, but at the same time, He knows all our needs, and will provide for us. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to a rugged cross, at Calvary, where the price for our sin was paid in full. We can never repay that precious gift, the price of Jesus’ blood, which was shed for us all. Jesus wants to be our Savior, to save us from damnation and hell, that eternal place of torture from which there is no escape. Repent today, and accept Him into your heart. It’s never too late.

CANTLON: SOUND TIGERS TAKE WHOOPING IN HARTFORD

BY: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings HARTFORD, CT - Igor Shesterkin made 30 saves and Matt Beleskey had two goals to help the Hartford Wolf Pack snap their four-game losing streak as they beat the Bridgeport Sound Tigers 4-1 on Friday in an Atlantic Division meeting at the XL Center before a season-best crowd of 5,707. The Wolf Pack record improves to 24-10-4-5 (57 points). They will play host to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms Saturday night before their brief three-day AHL All-Star break. The Wolf Pack retains first place by percentage points (.30) as the Hershey Bears won Friday as well, 5-2 over the Springfield Thunderbirds. Shesterkin will start again in net against the Phantoms. Bridgeport record drops to 15-24-4-1 (35 points). They occupy the eighth and final place in the Atlantic Division. The Sound Tigers head to Springfield Saturday. “The best recipe to break a losing streak is to come back and play at home,” said Wolf Pack head coach, Kris Knoblauch. The Wolf Pack home record stands at 17-1-0-2 and 7-9-4-3 on the road. Having Shesterkin back in net makes a big difference. Would the coach ever lobby GM Chris Drury to have the Russian rookie stay a little longer? “That would be nice,” Knoblauch said with a laugh. “We realize this is temporary, and we'll use him for as long as we can and enjoy him while we can until he returns to New York.” In the second period, Hartford pulled away and took control of the game. The Wolf Pack pocketed their second goal shorthanded. Captain Steven Fogarty, always a threat with a man down, capitalized for his third shorthanded tally of the season. Fogarty pried the puck away from Sebastian Aho then outmuscled him as he drove to the net on the left-wing and slipped a backhander into the net for his 11th of the season by netminder Christopher Gibson at 5:22. “That was the difference in the game tonight. Fogarty was very persistent in getting that puck. He was able to break away (from his check) and did the right thing with it,” said Knoblauch. Beleskey was highly complimentary. “(It was a) great move, great hands, great goal. It changed everything and definitely got us going.” Bridgeport head coach and ex-Wolf Pack, Brent Thompson, was none too pleased. He called a timeout and read his team the riot act. “Anytime the other team takes a timeout middle of the game (early in the second period) you know you're doing something good,” said Beleskey, The Wolf Pack got stronger and picked up the third goal in spectacular fashion. Four of the five players on the ice, except Yegor Rykov, got touches of the puck. The sixth guy got the scoring play started. It all started with Shesterkin behind the goal cage. He zipped a perfect lead pass to Phil Di Giuseppe at the Sound Tigers blue line. Di Giuseppe turned and curled and fired a pass to Darren Raddysh who was coming with speed coming through the middle and just entering the offensive zone. Raddysh dished it off beautifully to Boo Nieves in the right circle. He was standing in the right-wing circle and one touched the pass to Beleskey coming off the left-wing. He redirected his 12th into the net at 15:20. “That was a great passing play all around. All I had to was just tap it in,” remarked Beleskey of the second powerplay goal of the evening. Knoblauch is in awe of Shesterkin’s skills. “That’s the second time he has set up a powerplay goal for us this year with his passing. Its so nice to have that extra defenseman back there. We moved the puck and our powerplay ahs to get better and it was important we got of them tonight (two on three not shabby) we got those contributions.” Raddysh felt fortunate on the play. “Igor got it going and Phil made a nice move and pass and everything was in front of me, everything just worked perfect for that goal.” Shesterkin factored in the fourth goal doing his regularly appointed duty of stopping pucks. Coming out on Bridgeport’s Colin MacDonald (Wethersfield) on a breakaway with 2:54 left in the period and he came out and challenged him and cutting the angle down and made the stop. “Your not going to replace a goalie like that,but we also how how important he is to this team. but we have to tighten up defensively we got outshot again tonight. We can’t always rely on that (having Shesterkin) it’s certainly nice have him,” said Beleskey with a smile of acknowledgement of what he means to this team. Later in that sequence with the Sound Tigers pushing back. The puck was pitchforked out of the zone seemingly by Mason Geersten who was credited with the assist. However, head coach Knoblauch after viewing the video several times said in the post game that it was actually Ryan Gropp who got the puck in front of Shesterkin and sent it off the center ice boards to give the Beleskey the breakaway. Then Beleskey hopped off the bench screamed across the ice right to left retrieved the loose puck off the left wing boards in the Sound Tigers zone. Beleskey caught Gibson cheating too far on his right post fired his second of the night 13th of the season over his glove hand far side at 17:25 for a 4-0 lead. “To be honest, I was asleep at the bench I forgot to go out for my shift !! So I jumped on at the right time they usually don’t end up happening that way ! Again it was another nice pass,” said Beleskey sheepishly laughing at himself turning a potential bad moment into a goal. Likely Gropp will get the official assist when a scoring change request is filed with the league. In the third period, the Wolf Pack continued their season long third period shutdown routine and are now 18-0-1-2 when leading after two periods. Of the 10 shots in the third period just one got by Shesterkin on the evening as Travis St. Denis was able to corral a bouncing puck off a Steve Bernier shot attempt. Igor got a piece  of, but couldn’t contain the wobbly puck and former QU Bobcat spoiled the shutout bid with his seventh goal at 15:07, Shesterkin almost had the capper for the evening with the goalie pulled he wanted the puck to try to put the puck in the net. “I didn’t hear him call for the puck I wish I had heard him, I would have gladly given him the puck,” smiled Raddysh. The Wolf Pack were able to cash in on their second powerplay to take a 1-0 lead. The power play defense combo of Raddysh and Yegor Rykov were able to generate offense quickly as Rykov at the right point sent a pass from the right point to Raddysh at the top of the left wing circle. Raddysh’s shot went off the back of Sound Tigers defenseman Sebastien Aho as he turned to block the shot and protect himself, but the puck richochet right over to an open Phil Di Giuseppe. Di Giuseppe one timed the puck past a diving Christopher Gibson at 16:42 for his 12th of the season in his first game back from Rangers recall. Head coach Kris Knoblauch was true to his word and change his defense combos going for the lefty-righty combo set. He split his top pair of Vincent LoVerde and Darren Raddysh pairing them Libor Hajek and Yegor Rykov respectively and reunited Mason Geersten and AHL All Star selection Joey Keane. “Were happy with things we just aiming to find the right balance we haven’t had (lefty and righty shooters) and it was a good night,” said Knoblauch. While they tossed nine shots pm goal the Wolf Pack to have missed the net as on that many as well. In one sequence they had four good quality open shots on net sent it either high or wide. “There is fine line between waiting to make the play and holding it too long. I think if we can get into a better groove on that will do better,” said Beleskey. The Wolf Pack got much better in the second period. I worked really hard last summer to prepare for my first season and this is the reward.” -Boo Nieves has 11 points in his last eight games. -Beleskey has three goals in his last two games -Shesterkin lowered his AHL best GAA to 1.89 GAA  and has a 16-4-3 record. If he played a full year he might challenge all the Wolf Pack goalie records held by Jason LaBarbera. -In Portland, Maine tonight goalie Adam Huska  stopped 44 of 45 shots in his ECHL debut and Ty Ronning scored a hat trick as the Maine on just 22 shots scored an 8-1 tout over the Worcester Railers in the battle of the affiliates of the Wolf Pack and Sound Tigers. Lewis Zerter-Gossage tallied his first ECHL goal of the year in his first game since being sent back. While former QU Bobcat Jordan Samuels-Thomas (West Hartford) had a tough night going a team worst minus four. The Mariners are in fourth place in the ECHL North Division with a record of 21-18-1-1 with 44 points in the six points behind Brampton. Maine has a rematch in Worcester Saturday night at the DCU Center with the David Cuniff coached Railers who started the year as the Wolf Pack assistant coach. -Former QU Bobcat Sam Anas of Iowa with 45 points in 45 games and is the third leading scorer in the AHL was added to AHL All Star Classic roster. -Ex-Pack Justin Fontaine (no relation to current Wolf Pack Gabriel Fontaine) signs a contract for the rest of the season with the Cologne Sharks (Germany-DEL). On Monday (07/03), I was unable to come into the office because of a scheduled car maintenance appointment that I had, and Tuesday (07/04) was the Independence Day holiday, which was another day off.

When I came in today, I continued to work on the closed captioning for the “Insights on PBS Hawaii” video that I had been working on previously and managed to edit from 3:44 to 16:20. This took up my entire shift today.

Towards the end of the day, Brian had shared with me the news that the entire Communications department would be soon moving offices to B216 and that we’d all be together now in the same office, along with Leila & Greg (the newest member to the Communications team).

Thursday | July 06, 2017 | 830am - 1130am (3HRS)

Today, I continued working on the “Insights on PBS Hawaii” video again and edited the closed captioning from 16:20 to 31:00. The video was roughly about 35 minutes and this was by far the most time I had spent on closed captioning thusfar. Hopefully, I’d be able to finally finish the closed captioning on this video with one more day.

Before today ended, Brian briefly mentioned the event that the ACM program would be hosting tomorrow in ‘Ulu’ulu regarding the Summer Bridge Program that was currently taking place. He told me that we’d be helping out with the event and to just be prepared for it, and I was really excited to actually be taking a break from the closed captioning tomorrow to be doing something else, whether that meant manning one of the cameras that were filming the event or helping out with another equipment and such. I definitely was looking forward to tomorrow.

Friday | July 07, 2017 | 830am - 1130am (3HRS)

Upon showing up today, Brian told me to be on standby to help out with whatever tasks that may come my way this morning during the event. I awaited further instruction from the doorway of my office and before I knew it, I found myself more so watching the event take place, specifically the speeches and the signing part of the ceremony.

After that was done and everybody dispersed, Brian then tasked me with trying to get some Boomerangs of everybody at the event, before people started to leave.

Once the event started to die down and people started leaving, Brian then told me that there was a New Student Orientation event that was also taking place on campus today in the Multipurpose room in C-Building and he sent me out to get some photos of the new students and their parents, who were also on campus in room C-225.

Firstly, I went to the Multipurpose room and tried to get as many photos as I possibly could in there. The lighting was not at all ideal for photos being that the room was not at all well lit for photos, but nonetheless I continued to try and take the best photos that I possibly could. After getting a decent amount of photos from as many angles as I could think of without completely interrupting the event, I had to stop and head back to the office because the camera’s SD card was full. Unfortunately, I also don’t have any copies of those photos that I took to show in this post. ☹

Brian couldn’t find the other SD card that he had, so I went back to my office to continue working some more on the “Insights on PBS Hawaii” video and edited from 31:00 to 33:00. I didn’t have a whole lot of time left after everything today, so I only edited this much, but I would definitely have this video finished sometime next week.

Today was another day of editing the closed captioning, and I finally finished the closed captioning on the “Insights on PBS Hawaii” video. Feel free to watch the entire video with my closed captioning below.

After completing this longer YouTube video, I wanted to look through all of the shorter YouTube videos on the channel and attack those first, being I’d be able to finish them a lot quicker.

Brian had a doctor’s appointment at 10 and was going to be gone for the last half of my shift today, but gave me the news that we’d be moving into the new office this coming Thursday (07/13). However, I’d actually be losing my office tomorrow (07/11) to Dr. Steve Taketa, who’d be moving in there and so he figured it would be the most convenient to have me take off tomorrow and the day after (07/11 - 07/12) just so that the moving process would be easier for everyone.

It’s moving day!

I caught up with Brian as he was going back and forth between his old office and the new one and rather than having me help him move some of the smaller boxes, he instead had me work on the desk outside of the new office (being they were setting everything up in there) and had me do some research on Instagram Takeovers in terms of what would be good content to have the potential guest post on the official UH West O’ahu page. This was an idea that he had briefly mentioned to me the day before while I was working in the library of having potentially a student, faculty/staff member, or community influencer takeover the UHWO Instagram page to generate some more content and more traffic.

I read through a few articles and found an abundance of information that stretched further past just the types of content that could be potentially posted, such as guidelines, helpful tips and tricks, practices & security tips, down to specific details to look out for when executing the takeover. I plugged all of the information into a Google Doc and share it with him to review.

Doing this research took up the majority of my shift, but towards the end, I had some time to do some more closed caption editing on the 1-hour long “UH West O’ahu New Campus Ground Blessing” video I started editing on Monday. I was able to edit from 5:30 to 7:15 before today’s shift was over.

Brian emailed me last night saying that he had to take an emergency workday from home, but told me to call security and have them unlock the office for me. When I got in, I dove into the closed captioning for the “UH West O’ahu New Campus Ground Blessing” video that I’d been working on and managed to edit up to 17:30.

As I was working on this, Leila had stopped by the office and we actually got to chat for a bit and discuss the types of projects that I wanted to work on moving forward, as well as the length of my internship with them. I told her that I’d potentially like to work on more graphic design projects, seeing as the Campus Security signs I did in the beginning of my internship was the only graphic design work that I had done for them thusfar, which worked out perfectly as Carina, newest librarian/our latest addition to the UHWO Library family, recently had sent in a request to Communications to have some posters created to promote the library. Leila thought this would be the perfect project for me to work being that I work in the library, I’d be able to come up with some great ideas. In terms of the length of my internship, we discussed that once I met the minimum requirements of 120 hours, that I’d be on-call for any projects that they would need help on during the semester, and Leila was more than fine with that.

Going back to the posters, I quickly emailed Carina to see if she could send me some inspiration for the posters. I know she mentioned this idea to me the other day while I was working and I know she had some great examples, so I just wanted to refer back to them to get some ideas. These were the examples she had sent from WCC, as well as some other sources.

After examining these, I began brainstorming some ideas, and one very prominent idea that came to mind was the “INFORMATION” music video that I did for the library last semester. I wanted to in a sense promote that in a movie-poster style and definitely have it reference the YouTube video as there are tons of great bits of information regarding the library in there that could definitely be useful/possibly entertaining to the library patrons. I then noticed the “Ask Doug” posters and Carina discussed it a bit and realized that Alphie, one of our amazing librarians, would be a great fit for this in terms of altering it in his image, so I definitely ran with this idea. I also tried coming up with slogans to work off the posters that WCC had created.

I created a couple rough sketches of some of the posters ideas I had, which can be seen below.

I shared all of these ideas with Brian and I will further discuss this project with him when we return on Monday (07/17).
