" "con, don't you ever fuckin' relax?"
"lieutenant, i'm a machine. i don't need to 'relax'."
"oh fuck you, come on, we're on break. loosen up a little or something. you can chill out from your fuckin' mission for the three minutes it'll take me to smoke this cigarette. and shut your mouth before you go telling me it isn't actually exactly three minutes on average to smoke a cigarette or whatever."
connie closes her mouth. a small addition to her list of missions to accomplish is made: try to appear "relaxed" to appease lieutenant anderson. a raise in friendship means an easier partner to work with, so connie carefully inspects the lieutenant's posture and does her best to replicate it. being a machine of plastic and metal certainly doesn't make it easy. "
hankcon, but gorls. did i base hank off of my butch lesbian manager at my old job at a sex toy store who was covered in spongebob tattoos? absolutely yes i did
mostly i just wanted to portray fem!hank as a Large Woman because i think there is a severe lack of that. broad with muscle hidden under fat, like the kind of woman who does shot put. so uh,,, ms trunchbull basically LMAO. deep voice, raspy from smoking and drinking, all that good stuff 😩👌 also peep the button on her jacket hehe
got some headcanons and stories for them under the cut!
-hank wears cargo shorts 100% of the time. no matter the weather or temperature. like, 'bill and ted at prom in shorts, but it's her at a dpd ceremony in cargo shorts' level. but not actually because i'm totally gonna draw her in a pantsuit later, totally not with connie on her hip in a slinky dress 👀
-also yes hank's shirt is a spongebob reference
-when people ask hank why she goes by hank and not her "real name," (which i like to headcanon is "henrietta") she always says, "oh it's actually a really funny story, i'll tell you later," and the later never comes lmao. or, if she does tell you, it's some made up wacky story that actually has nothing to do with giving herself the name hank. the real reason? she just likes it
-speaking of "henrietta," this story, 'if you know where to look' by ghost_teeth, works so fucking well with a lot of my headcanons about how their characters would be like genderbent! highly recommend it, and all their dbh stories honestly!
-connie has a compact gun (i asked my brother for examples and he said sig p365 or springfield hellcat, which i think work perfectly for this) holstered inside her jacket on the left side. also, i'm stealing this idea from this post (which basically almost has the same design for fem!connor (altho like, most designs for her are basically the same lmao)) but she also has a knife strapped to her thigh
-her skirt is actually made of some super high tech flexible and durable material, and she's got specific programming to make her balance crazy good, since she'll be running in heels. she's made to hunt and pursue deviants so obviously she needs to be able to run and jump. the outfit is only made to appear like a standard "business woman" to blend in with the humans she would be required to work with, but otherwise gives her everything/doesn't hold her back from doing what she needs to complete her mission. here's a bonus conversation i had with @extraordinaryandroid about it lmaoo:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-hank met connor-51 first for the ortiz case, but connie-52 (with 51's memories of course) came in the next day when it was announced they were to be officially paired to investigate deviants. cyberlife has their grubby lil hands in everything so of course they knew their RK800 unit would be paired with this lieutenant anderson before basically anyone else, and deemed that she'd get along better with a "female model" that she would find attractive. which of course has hank like WOW that's super weird and gross of y'all! and i fucking hate that it's working you pieces of shit at cyberlife !!!! but ofc connie's like "im a machine i dont even have a gender" all the while hank's sweatin major thirsty bullets
-at the cyberlife tower, connor-51 is the one to hold hank at gunpoint. how did he get hank to trust him? idk i haven't figured that out yet lmao, but the angst of connor-51 essentially taking the place of -60 from the game in the sense that he's clearly deviant in some capacity, in this context being that he feels connie stole the life he deserved (which he'd never admit) and now wants to suck up to cyberlife and be their best boi to feel important and special again and not knowing they'd just throw him away for the RK900 model, is very good imo. that was a very long sentence so i hope it made sense lmaoo. have i worked out all the details of how all that shit would work in a story? absolutely not, im too busy thinking about butch fem!hank making her robo girlfriend bluescreen in the bedroom 🤪
also if ur wondering wtf the background is, idk. my usual plain color gradient was too simple, but i did NOT want to put in the effort to do a whole ass real background, so i settled on something in between. meh, it's just them hagin' out behind the station on a smoke break ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

your hcs for them. hand them over
Ugh cant BELIEVE you ask for the one thing I say not to ask🙄🙄🙄 Guess I’m forced to share them🙄🙄🙄 Against my will🙄🙄🙄
Mualani
She’s like 51% Ler 49% Lee
It’s almost 50/50 but she’s verrrry tiny bit more ler
She’s probably like…an 8.5/10 on the ticklish scale
Worst spots are her tummy (obviously), her underarms, hips, and ngl I feel like her shoulders
Whenever she’s tkld, she almost never holds back her laugh
So it always comes out a loud bright cheery laugh (and it’s so pretty)
She FLAILS
As a ler she’s only sometimes mean, it depends on her lee
She’s never a mean ler with Kachina, she’s sometimes a mean ler with Kinich
Definitely loves using “the claw”
HUGE fan of giving cheer up tks
Usually to Kachina cause she gets down on herself a lot
Now I would say Mualani also enjoys getting cheer up tks, but hear me out
Instead of receiving them, I feel like if she’s down and Kinich or Kachina are in her presence, she will drag them down and wreck their shit till she felt better
She often receives wake up tks from Kinich whenever they’re traveling together
I say this bc that scene in the archon quest where Mualani was like if only we had someone who gets up early to wake us up tomorrow and Kinich was like fine
She LOOOVES doing surprise tases to her friends (usually Kinich)
She’s also quite often the victim of revenge tks
Deserved
Kachina
80% Lee 20% Ler
About an 8/10 on how ticklish she is
I honestly feel like she’s just averagely the same level of ticklish everywhere
Esp her sides a little more tho
Always on the receiving end of cheer up tks from Mualani or Kinich
She will never take initiative to be a ler like ever
The only time she ever lers is when it’s her and Mualani ganging up on Kinich or her and Kinich ganging up on Mualani
It will pretty much never be one on one
Maybe there’s a scenario where it’s possible but right now in my head she would not do it alone
Very very gentle ler
Small hands = small quick tks
Kachina doesn’t know she could literally murder Kinich with the gentle tks if she wanted to
She doesn’t want to tho because she’s way too nice of a ler
As a lee she definitely squirms a lot
Usually it’s Mualani who gets her and it usually doesn’t last very long
Kinich and Mualani never gang up on her in a 2 on 1 bc that’s unfair
They are caring older bro and sis
Her laugh is pretty much just giggles
She doesn’t cackle or snort and is never usually loud
She’s adorable tho and I love her
Kinich
45% Lee and 55% Ler
He’s about a 6.5-7 on the scale (I can’t decide which bc it really depends on if you surprise him or not)
Despite his being more of a ler, he’s never usually the first one to initiate the tks
He almost always tickles as an act of revenge (cough mualani)
Kinich for a while thought he wasn’t all that ticklish because last time someone asked the dreaded question and tickled his sides, he didn’t feel a need to react
He’s just really good at not being ticklish when he knows it’s coming (me fr)
However
Mualani asked this question and got the same lack of response to sides
But unlike previous curious people, Mualani doesn’t give up
It didn’t take long for her to find pretty much all of Kinich’s spots after that wrecking
His spots are usually normal but sometimes a little oddly placed
He’s ticklish on his underarms, back, ribs (but only the bottom two), knees, his neck but only in front, and collarbone
He’s really not that ticklish on his sides and therefore assumed he wasn’t at all because before Mualani that was the only place people ever
As a ler depending on who you are and what you did to warrant his wrath he can either be super nice or straight merciless
Which translates to super nice with kachina and merciless with Mualani
Because 90% of the time she does something
Whether it be a surprise taser on those two ribs that are too sensitive for his own good (he screams) or something as simple as a prank
He will give her the wrecking she deserves
And sure he’s merciless with her but not exactly mean
He will remind her that she brought it upon herself
As a lee tho…
I can’t tell if I like Lee or Ler Kinich more
Because Ler Kinich is perfection but Lee Kinich is adorable
He’s honestly so good at holding in his laugh but surprise attacks are his weakness (Mualani’s specialty)
Even if it’s not a surprise attack, anything on his back will get him to crack in seconds
Even when he’s laughing though he’s really good at controlling it
Good at controlling his movements too
He won’t flail like mualani and instead just kinda curl up
Protect whatever he can
Even with all his composure though it’s still possible to get him cackling
That only ever happens when it’s both Mualani and Kachina ganging up on him
The conflict between Mualani’s firmness and Kachina’s gentle scritches just makes him lose it
Sometimes Ajaw (the bastard) tells Kachina to be rougher with Kinich bc he thinks that it’s the rough tks that drive Kinich crazy
But it’s actually the soft tks that he can’t stand
I’m sorry but I just have a feeling he’s weak to gentles
Of course after times like this he will literally wreck both of them at the same time. Bc he’s still a ler at heart and he can do that
Last one and I’m pretty sure we all know this but
Ajaw will definitely sell Kinich’s worst spots to his ler with no hesitation and no remorse
He wants to see him suffer

Some 2025 Goals (Books, Films, Etc.)
This is an utterly self-indulgent long post, sorry. I know that could describe a lot of my posts on here, but this one especially is really for (future) me more than anybody else.
I've decided it might be fun to set some targets for books / films / TV / music / games this year. Nothing especially flashy though: if you read this and think 'well, those should all be pretty easy, shouldn't they?' then thank you; this is exactly the point of the exercise.
Reading
Unlike most years, I'm not going to set a specific target for new books read in 2025.
Last year I read 51 books, which feels like a slightly strange number: it's bigger enough than average that bringing it up in casual conversation feels uncomfortably like bragging , but it's small enough compared to most people I know who read a lot that it also doesn't seem like anything actually worth bragging about. Also, my target for the year was 52. The thing is, I'm not sure having a target like this last year actually helped me read a wider range of books or enjoy reading more; I'm not even sure, honestly, that it helped encourage me to read more books than I would have otherwise.
So, while I am still going to track all the books I read this year, I'm not going to set an overall target. I am going to set some sub-targets though, namely:
Read more books (novels or short story collections both count; anything published in a single volume is 'a book' for this) in genres I don't usually try: at least three horror books; at least three romances; at least three historical fiction novels and at least three contemporary literary novels.
Read at least twelve books which won some kind of (distinct) award (the actual award doesn't matter so much, though it should be something with a bit of prestige in its field: the catch is that these twelve books have to represent twelve different awards)
Read at least twelve books first published before 1925 (since I notice that very few of the books I finished in 2024 were published more than one hundred years ago)
Read at least twelve books published in 2024 or 2025 (since I've also recently noticed that I practically didn't read any new releases last year either)
Somebody other than Adrian Tchaikovsky has to be my most read author in 2025. This is non-negotiable. (No offence to Tchaikovsky, whose work I -- obviously -- like a lot, but he was somehow my most read author in both 2023 and 2024 and it's got to stop at some point)
Watching
I don't really watch much in the way of film or TV. Or, rather, as regular readers of this blog might guess, I watch a lot of the same nearly thirty year old TV show repeatedly, but I don't watch a lot of new TV. So, goals here:
Finish The Americans. I started watching this show in 2023 and made it to the end of Season 3 last summer. The thing is: I'm honestly not sure whether I like it or not? The individual performances are really good (especially Keri Russell as Elizabeth Jennings), the premise is the right combination of absurd but just about played straight, but -- especially from the end of Season 2 onwards -- some of the writing choices are ... well, they are very odd to me. (Also, while I've never expected the politics of the show to be good, I think the fact Oliver North of all people gets a story credit for one episode is honestly pretty gross). But, that said, when the show is good it is good and I own physical copies of the next three seasons, so ...
Watch Season 2 of We Are Lady Parts. This should be easy (which is, of course, the point). I liked Season 1 when I watched it last year, and then I just ... didn't watch any more.
Watch Season 1 of Mr Robot. Of all the big critically acclaimed 2010s shows I've somehow managed not to watch -- and there are a lot of them -- I think this is the one that sounds most likely to interest me (without reading enough about it to spoil myself). Only committing myself to one season because ... well, maybe I'll hate it?
Watch The Corner miniseries. I'm a big fan of The Wire and I've owned a physical copy of this for over three years which I've just never got around to. Should be easy enough to fix that.
Watch fifty new (to me) films this year. That's just under one a week, which should also be easy, right? Well, it'd be about twice what i managed last year, so maybe not. Films I tried last year but didn't finish count as new, I guess (there are quite a few of those).
Listening
One thing the last couple of years have taught me is that I don't listen to as much music as I'd like to beiieve I do. And my instinctive "well, I don't really use Spotify much..." excuse whenever Spotify Wrapped season comes around at the end of the year feels less convincing every time. So:
Either remember the details of my existing last.fm account or (more likely) create a new one; download/set-up the last.fm scrobbler.
Try to get back into the habit of listening to music while I do other things, as opposed to only listening to music when I have the time to focus on it exclusively. (I'm not entirely sure how to quantify that one, but it seems noticeable that, for example, I'm not listening to any music while writing this post...)
I want to have listened to at least thirty new (to me) albums by the end of the year, at least twelve of them by artists I've never listened to before and at least twelve (not necessarily a different twelve) in (sub)genres I don't normally listen to (I'm honestly not sure whether that's something I managed last year or not, but it feels like it should be pretty straightforward ... right?)
At least one of my Spotify Wrapped and last.fm Playback totals at the end of the year should be at least 10% higher than the equivalent figure for my 2024 Wrapped. (I don't think I ever posted that figure here, but ... yeah, this should also not be hard.)
Playing
Last year I set myself the goal of completing twelve video games. I thought that was pretty modest, but might be a good start to working through some of the backlog of games I owned but hadn't ever really properly played. Of that initial twelve, I managed a total of ... zero. That's not great!
So, no mere numbers here. I'm going to try to be specific. I want to complete (or put in enough hours/effort that I feel I can fairly give up on as beyond my abilities) at least four of Baba Is You, Control, Cyberpunk 2077, Disco Elysium, The Witness and one as yet unnamed game (which I can pick at any point during the year).
Will try to come back to this post periodically (but probably not as often as every month) to update my progress (if any).

The 50th Hunger Games: "I don't see that it makes much difference. They'll still be one hundred percent as stupid as usual, so I figure my odds will be roughly the same." ~ Haymitch
Tumblr media
So I've been thinking about the Hunger Games recently, especially with the announcement of the new book coming out and it being about Haymitch. I had always wondered why the Capitol saw his win as a defiance, bad enough that it merited Snow targeting his entire family and having them killed as a result of his games. But I wanted to put my thoughts out there and the effects that it had on Haymitch as a person and how he ended up being the mess that he is.
First I want to take a look at his games, which took place in the Second Quarter Quell and how it was "special" compared to prior Hunger Games. The 50th Games took more tributes than average. Normally it is one girl and one boy, but for the special edition, they took two boys and two girls from each district. And it took place in a highly poisonous arena. Lots of plants were poisonous so it made it especially difficult for the tributes to find food to eat.
Haymitch came across as defiant and arrogant in his interview before the game, which we already know that that is a big nono.
The Gamemakers 100% rig the games, at least to a certain extent. They watch everything that they do behind the scenes and they manipulate the events within the arena in the direction that they want the fight to go in. This creates drama, which is good for ratings, which is what they want. We see them doing this in the first 3 books. So they had probably already chose a victor already and Haymitch wasn't it.
Haymitch stayed out of the fighting for most of the match itself. He got into a few fights, but largely he kept to himself, in an attempt to find something and he found the edge of the arena, where there was a forcefield. And he tested it by throwing a couple of rocks to see what happened and they bounced right off. However, Haymitch staying out of the fighting for most of his games, made him a boring tribute for the audience, which is why Haymitch wasn't the victor that they wanted.
The Victor that they had wanted was obviously his opponent, that he had his final showdown with. A more exciting candidate for the audience of the games to cheer for and that was the District 1 career tribute that came at him with an axe at the end of his games. I don't want to go into gory details, because it did get messy. But suffice it to say she threw the axe at him and he dodged it and it bounded off of the forcefield and hit the career tribute in the head. Thus crowning him Victor.
So the point of all of this? Snow wanted to humble Haymitch and his defiance and arrogance towards the Capitol. They also hated him for ruining an extra special Hunger Games by accidentally killing their chosen Victor. He stayed out of the fighting for so long and then he just accidentally won? Boring tribute is boring for the citizens of the Capitol. It all led to the Capitol wanting to make an example out of Haymitch for not playing by their rules. He played by his own rules.
For his punishment, they killed his family. His father wasn't in the picture, much like Katniss's father who died, so we can assume that Haymitch's dad met the same fate as hers did and died in the coal mines. So, he was "the man of the house", taking care of his mother and his younger brother. Snow had them both killed, and his girlfriend as well.
But his punishment didn't really end there. After his Games, that made him a mentor. Each year he had to mentor two children, and since he was from a poverty stricken and malnourished district... the tributes always lost and died in the arena. I think Haymitch probably did try at first, but after a while he did give up. Since his Hunger Games was the 50th, he had to mentor 51-73 Hunger games which roughly leads to 44 children dying under his watch before he met Peeta and Katniss, so you can imagine why he was pretty jaded by the 74th Hunger Games.
Anyways this is what is already known about Haymitch's backstory with the exception of his partnership, with one of the tributes from District 12, Maysilee. It will be interesting to see how this story is fleshed out in more detail tbh.

i can help out here with song selections
longer songs are better because back in the early days of the game the devs decided to re-scale point gain to make it so longer songs score higher because people would not stop spamming Ready Steady. so people started spamming Melt instead but they never re-scaled it again after that.
The longest songs in the game right now are Melt and Hatsune Creation Myth, both 3 minutes and 2 seconds. They'll get you the most points but are very long, and in the case of HCM, very hard. From what I've heard, the best difficulty to play Melt on is expert.
Obviously Lost and Found is considered the best. It has a runtime of 2 minutes 36 seconds which is on the longer side, but as said above it has really strong skill activation. Afaik hard is the best difficulty to play this one on.
Hitorinbo Envy doesn't score well but because it's short (1 minute 14) you can get more plays done in less time. it's best on expert due to having a better fever section on that difficulty. also use a good scorer as your leader because that will be the one to activate in co-op and hitorinbo activates skills frequently because of how short it is.
for other long song choices (on EN) you've got World Is Mine (2:51), Shoujorei (2:39), Mirai (2:38), Salamander (2:38), and Moonlight (2:37). there's also Journey (2:46) which will be added later this month. Intense Voice and Don't Fight the Music are both 2:40 but they're harder so not the best picks.
for short songs (less resource efficient but more time efficient), you've got Hitorinbo Envy (1:14), Jackpot Sad Girl (1:23), Parasol Cider (1:31), Daughter of Evil (1:32), and Nomad (1:32). Viva Happy (1:34) is also a good one to use since it has a lot of gold notes and good skill activation.
you can find a full list of song times here. there's also this tool on that you can enter your event team and total power into and it'll tell you the best songs to play
also one thing i want to add: virtual singer lim cards. not fes cards but their normal lims. so far that's the sakura ones, painful hope rin and wedding meiko on EN. virtual singer lims have super OP skills and are really good to use in unit events even if they are off-attribute. all the JP tierers use them
Tumblr media
they're pretty average when used alone, but get stronger every time you put a character from their unit on the team, and even stronger if you put their full unit on the team. so even if she's off-attribute, if i group this miku with all four N25 members, her score is more worth it than the event point bonus in some ways. set them as your leader as well so that they'll be the card to activate in co-op. it can really benefit your team in carnival events too.
Would you be willing to share your tiering strats? You said you got around t100k. Most internet guides I've found seem to be for people aiming to get at least t10k, which is too high for a newbie like me T_T
to be fair i don't t100k that often (i usually aim for at least t50k) but i can give you some tips.
first off you want to have a good team. you can use the auto button and it should give you the team with the highest event point bonus. if you've got any non-4*s on that team it might be worth master ranking them if you have the resources since that will increase the bonus.
i like to use 5 LP per song and then just play whenever the meter refills back to 10. also do the challenge show every day since it will give you event points as well. i recommend playing co-op instead of solo since it will give you more points too, although if you're busy you can set LP to 1 and then just let the game autoplay melt or lost and found 10 times on hard and it should do you fine. it will get less points than physically playing but it's still gettting you something.
if you find yourself still not being able to hit T100k then you might wanna use a few LP drink cans but hopefully what i've just said can help you out a bit

THE LONG-AWAITED DSMP SIMP SURVEY RESULT BREAKDOWN!
what the hell is that: this survey asked people, mainly from our following, which members of the dream SMP (current and past members, not limited to streamers) they had a crush on. multiple responses were encouraged within reason, and the form garnered 878 responses before being closed after about three hours.
this results breakdown will focus on two main categories: total simpage and simps per capita, broken down in a few different ways. while all members have a twitch/youtube, several only have one or the other, so categories will be further subdivided by platform.
greatest overall simpage
this is simple. who got the biggest number: this is just raw response reading! percentages were rounded to the nearest tenth.
highest simpage
Wilbur Soot, 175 votes / 20.6% of the vote
Nihachu, 76 votes / 8.9% of the vote
Quackity, 57 votes / 6.7% of the vote
and here's some fun % of votes stats!
simpage (ever dyed hair): 190 votes / 22% of the vote; 20% of the DSMP (6 people)
been on BBH's hot wings streams: 200 votes / 23.5% of the vote; 20% of the server (6 people)
never changed skin (actually): 56 votes / 6.6% of the vote; 10% of the DSMP (3 people)
never changed username: 267 votes / 31.5% of the vote; 30% of the server (10 people)
hair dye + hot wingers are overrepresented in simps, whereas unchanged minecrafters are underrepresented.
simps per capita
this was calculated by dividing simps by following on twitch and subscribers on youtube, then multiplying by 100,000 and rounded down to get an x simps per 100,000 people for easier conceptualization.
highest twitch SPC
Technoblade, 91 simps per 100,000
Wilbur Soot, 51 simps per 100,000
FoolishGamers__, 43 simps per 100,000
slimecicle followed closely with 40 simps per 100,000!
highest youtube SPC
ItsAlyssa, 421 simps per 100,000
CaptainPuffy, 247 simps per 100,000
Eret, 137 simps per 100,000
highest SPC in either category
ItsAlyssa, 421 simps per 100,000 (YouTube)
CaptainPuffy, 247 simps per 100,000 (YouTube)
Eret, 131 simps per 100,000 (YouTube)
highest average SPC
CaptainPuffy, 141 simps per 100,000
Eret, 89 simps per 100,000
FoolishGamers__, 87 simps per 100,000
other exciting stats, charts, and observations
simpage of note:
vikkstar and lazarbeam are sitting pretty at the very bottom, tied with 0 voters!
dream has the worst simps:subs ratio at an average 1.68 simps per 100,000!
alyssa has by far the lowest following (7,120 YT subs) but the highest SPC (421)!
Tumblr media
here's a pair of fun charts that show the positive correlation between following and simps! the twitch chart has a correlation of .41 and the youtube chart has a correlation of .2, both weak but still strong enough to count. (quick refresher: this doesn't refer to the slope of the line of best fit, but how close each point is to the line of best fit.)
Tumblr media
here's another fun chart showing a downward trend in simps by age. correlation coefficient is -.18, which is low correlation.
Tumblr media
this pair of charts are 2 connections between following and simpage. the first is average following (avg of twitch + youtube) and simps to remind that more followers=more raw simps. the second is following vs SPC, showing moderate correlation (-.36) between low following and high SPC, implying that people prefer unpopular creators. however...
smaller followings are favored because the simp results were much closer to each other than the competitors' respective followings (ex. schlatt and karl jacobs, who are tied for simpage but are over 1.5mil apart in twitch following). one person in a group of 10 is a much larger proportion of the group than the same person in a group of 10 million. additionally, youtube numbers are very skewed due to the fact that very few dsmp members have an active presence there, at least when not compared to their twitch channel. not every fan follows their fav's youtube channel. i believe highest average SPC is the most accurate, because it weeds out those who just had good ratios. however basically no SPC counts are good at all! not enough people were surveyed for accurate conclusions at this degree of specificity.
conclusion:
more followers=more simps, obviously. less followers=higher SPC. people don't tend to favor older people or those who haven't changed their mc branding. however, people really like dyed hair and people that have been in bad's hot wing streams. huh. doing that must make you really sexy or something! basically...
people like style, people like adventurousness, but above all else, people really fucking like wilbur soot!
(link to the spreadsheet if you want to explore results!)

Hi! 👋
So, I honestly didn’t intend for 2 1/2 months to go by without posting here. I’ve just been really focused on my post op journey and making sure I hit all my goals, plus most of my free time was devoted to writing the past couple of months. But now that things have mostly settled, I felt I should check in on here and give an update about what’s been going on since my surgery in October. I don’t even know how many people are still following this blog or care, but I started this mostly for myself so I should probably try to keep up with it more.
So anyway, post op life has been about 85% very positive. Each appointment I’ve had with both my surgeon and nutritionist, they’ve said I’m doing everything perfectly and to just keep going as I have been, which is very encouraging and a huge relief.
I’ve gotten into a fairly good groove with taking all the vitamins and other pills, although recently it’s shifted around a bit because I’m trying to figure out how to make it the most efficient in how it fits into my overall day-to-day schedule. Things got a little wonky over the holidays because I had more days off and it kinda threw some things off, but I’m working on getting myself back into my normal routine again. I’m also adding in a couple new supplements because I’ve felt very tired and sluggish the past few weeks, and I’m worried maybe I’m not getting enough of some things. But overall, I’m doing pretty well.
Food wise, I’m still in the soft food phase for another couple weeks, but after the 20th, I will finally be able to go back to a “normal” diet. Obviously that’s still going to look very different than my old normal, but at least I can add in a wider variety of foods and textures so I’m not just rotating the same 5-6 meals over and over again. I love eggs and cottage cheese but I’m ready for some other options 😅. I’m currently able to eat about 3 oz per meal, which still seems a bit crazy to me that I can be full on so little food, but really I haven’t had any issues with feeling hungry. Probably because I’m supplementing it with a rotation of protein drinks/shakes/shots, and I’m averaging between 120-160 grams of protein a day.
And I’m most happy with the physical results I’m seeing. Not just the actual weight loss (which is fantastic and so much more than I had expected), but also just the ability to move my body more without feeling exhausted or sore. I’ve gotten to the point where I can easily achieve 10,000 steps a day, most of the time by the end of my work shift (I get up and walk around my room every hour or so to make sure I’m not sitting too long), and some days I can get to 13,000-14,000. It’s amazing the difference from just a few months ago, where walking 5 minutes would have me out of breath and having awful back pain. Now I’m walking 30-40 minutes at a time with no problem, and I’m working up to doing even more. And overall, since last May, I’ve lost 134 lbs, 51 of that has been just since my surgery. I honestly can’t be more thrilled with how the physical part of this journey has gone so far. It’s been hugely transformative and I’m so proud of myself for making this decision. Never once have I felt an ounce of regret, even through some of the harder parts.
Which I guess leads me to the 15% not so positive stuff. Thankfully, I’ve not had any issues with not tolerating food, but sometimes my multivitamin will make me a bit nauseous. I’ve tried to make sure and take them right after I eat, but sometimes it still makes me feel icky. And I’ve tried different brands and types, the one I keep going back to is the soft chew, which I like fine (it’s actually kind of like a Starburst candy), but I’m also having a lot of dental work done right now, and they keep telling me to try and switch to the regular pill vitamins. But every time I try, I throw up. So, right now I’m just trying to make the best of it and sticking to the one that I can tolerate the best.
And the biggest not-fun thing: I’m starting to experience some major hair loss. I knew it was one of the more common side effects of the surgery going in, but honestly it was also the scariest thing for me. It’s something that has always been a constant point of pride for me, the one physical feature I had that I’ve always loved and never felt shame or embarrassment about. So now to lose that…it’s more than a little devastating. I had a consultation at a hair salon last week, but there really aren’t any good options that won’t cost me more than I can really afford. So now I’m in the process of grieving my beautiful, soft, full hair and trying to accept that this is just a temporary thing, but it’s been really hard. I’m doing literally EVERYTHING that people have suggested to help minimize the loss and help it grow back faster, so now I just have to wait it out and try to find ways to make it tolerable until things stabilize. It’s honestly been the hardest part of this whole thing, which probably seems ridiculous but it’s the truth.
So the past few weeks have been a bit rough in trying to come to terms with it, but I’m not letting it derail me from my progress in other areas. I just booked my first trip out of state since 2019, finally getting back to traveling, which is a big love of mine and something I’ve been missing dearly. And I’m meeting a friend that I was supposed to meet right when COVID happened and messed up our plans, so I’m thrilled to finally get a second chance for that, and to be in a much better physical and mental state than I was in 2020. So despite the few struggles that I’ve encountered along the way, I’m still 100% happy with my decision and am completely committed to seeing it through. This year is when I start living again.

Generational Timeline
@cyber-phobia
So this isn’t directly related to the question “How did OfA survive as long as it did?” But I was working on it anyways, and the timeline of OfA is in there, and I’ve kind of been stalling on this, so I’m just going to submit this rough draft thing to you, and let everyone else worry about it
EDIT: This timeline is outdated! New version here.
~
Assumption 1: “Generation” as referred to in the phrase “X Generation Quirk” is in reference to “social” generations since the Dawn of Quirks, not how many generations quirks have been in an individual’s family
I’ll be using 25 year generations, because while I could use 30 year ones, the shorter generations make for a nice snug timeline, and I don’t want to do double the math to show both variations of the timeline at once
Inko is 4th generation (Chap. 1, pg 19) and 42 years old in canon (Character bio + birthday)
Izuku is 5th gen. and 16 in canon (bio + birthday)
Assumption 2: The kids in the Remedial chapters are supposed to be the start of the 6th gen (based on the fact that the Quirk Singularity first gets brought up by Mic and Meatball in 166, and basically everyone makes a point of bringing up how powerful their quirks are)
These kids are in primary school, and based off their appearance and the school’s name (translated “precocious brat”) I’d say they’re probably 6-7, 8 at the oldest. I will average this to 7, meaning that the current timeline is approximately 7 years past the start of the 6th generation, which gives us an almost exact timeframe (~132 years)
Now we can start working backwards.
Years ago / Years from the Dawn of Quirks
6 - less than 7 /132-126
5 - 7-32 / 125-101
4 - 33-57 / 100-76
3 - 58-82 / 75-51
2 - 83-107 / 50-26
1 - 108-132 / less than 25
Izuku was born 9 years before the end of Gen 5, or 16 years into it, meaning he’s a mid-5th gen child
Assumption 3: AfO was born during the first year of quirks
Daruma Ujiko is over 120 (Chap. 270, pg 3)
AfO would be in his 60s when he meets the doc in his 50s
I’d also like to point out just how convenient it is for AfO that Ujiko would just so happen to be rendered completely destitute and thus devote himself and his longevity quirk to AfO (chapter 270, 4) right around the time that he’s probably starting to worry about old age doing him in
AfO and OfA are both adults when OfA the quirk is created, so it was likely made approx 30 years after quirks, though I suspect for symbolic reasons it was ~32 years, so that OfA would be exactly 100 years old and that’s the reason it’s “reaching singularity” for Izuku
All Might Rising shows Nana died when AM was 18, then he leaves the country less than a year later
Before that Gran says All for One is OVER 100 years old, which means this is at maximum ~31 years ago, so All Might’s probably 48/49
Also, since he had OfA for ~30 of its 100 years, that means each of the previous holders would have had it for an average of 10 years
Assuming they all (except All Might and Izuku, of course) were adults when they got it, the approximate timeline for when they had it would be something like this:
First: ~100 years ago - ~90 years ago (had it in early-mid 2nd gen) (First generation quirk, obviously)
2nd: 90-80 (mid 2nd/early 3rd) (first generation quirk)
3rd: 80-70 (early-mid 3rd) (1st or 2nd gen quirk)
4th: 70-60 (mid-late 3rd) (2nd gen quirk)
Daigoro: 60-50 (early-mid 4th) (Black Whip, 2nd or 3rd gen quirk)
6th: 50 - 40 (mid 4th) (3rd gen quirk)
Nana: 40 - 30 (mid-late 4th) (Float, 3rd gen quirk)
AM: 30 - 1 year ago (early 5th-early/mid 6th) (4th gen, quirkless)
Izuku: 1 year ago to now (early/mid 6th) (5th gen, quirkless)
Off to another point
Kotaro was 32 some 15-20 years ago before he died (bio + math doesn’t work if he would have been 32 now) when Shigaraki was 5, and we know Tomura’s in his 20s now, which means Kotaro would be around the same age as, or slightly older than, All Might if he was alive
Which raises an interesting insight into his character. Since we know
A. Nana gave him up when he was younger,
B. He would have been around 18 when she died,
C. Nana probably had OfA around 10 years just like her predecessors,
We can get a timetable something like this: Nana gets OfA, AfO kills her husband shortly after, and she gives up Kotaro. Then she goes off to be a (public?) hero for A DECADE, eventually picking up Yagi because he’s around the same age Kotaro would be, before dying. From his perspective that would be around ten years of watching his mother be a hero and not coming back for him, and just as he’s reaching adulthood and maybe coming to terms with things, she dies in a way that almost certainly wasn’t publicized. (If the general public is mostly unaware of him save as an urban legend, there’s no way the government told people he killed her.) Which really puts his whole “Heroes hurt their families to save strangers” thing into perspective.
Now to a different thing,
The Meta Liberation Army had been in hiding “for generations” when ReDestro was a child, and since there’s no way he’s not in his 40’s bare minimum, (the man is balding for god’s sake, even in a high-stress environment there’s no way he’s the same age as Aizawa)(not to imply Aizawa is not in a high-stress environment) that means he’s 4th gen, and the only way things work out is if Destro was 1st gen and the Liberation War was during the 2nd gen. Which probably seems obvious without all the math, but that just helps confirm it’s not baseless.
~
Originally I was going to use this timeline as a backdrop to make a meta about the Quirk Singularity, but it kudzu’d, my focus is whack and you started making timeline posts and I wanted to throw my two cents in, so I’ll just summarize that:
A. The Quirk Singularity refers specifically to the increase in physical backlash from quirks over time, not just increasing power
B. Ujiko was correct that the earliest signs of it were visible in the fourth generation (Endeavor)
C. You can actually track the general trend of the singularity in the manga, based off characters’ ages (this was the part I still needed to get evidence for, but Aizawa’s dry-eye doesn’t seem anywhere near as severe as Shigaraki starting to disintegrate himself during Deika or Aoyama, and Recovery Girl and Gran Torino’s quirks both seem to not have any negative effect on them at all)

i’ve run out of ways to say the mutant situation
what’s your mutant’s ability? alien physiology
what’s your mutant’s classification level? toeing the line between beta and gamma. when her body is at its easiest, most natural form, it... looks like a xenomorph, which is so gamma of it. but she’s usually fairly human-passing, with the exception of a very slight silver glow from her skin and eyes.
how old were they when they first discovered their abilities? how did it happen? she began looking different when she was four... and it was a super slow transformation, which made it even more grotesque :\ none of the helpful abilities would come in until she was fourteen, though. she learned she was not only able to turn back into a human(oid), but ! she could also shapeshift...
so, what can your mutant do with their abilities? she has an innate understanding of technology and space alike. in addition, among the many things that fall under the umbrella, she possesses longevity ( the ability to live far longer than the average human ), healing powers, psionics, empathy, flight, intangibility, invisibility, dna replication, acidic blood, invulnerability... and many more.
…and what can’t they do (at least, not yet)? shapeshift for a long period of time. ever since the Great Paul Incident of 1969, her body’s like ‘alright, we’re gonna shapeshift for ten hours, MAX. and five hours in, it’s gonna get uncomfortable. let’s not have another paul situation.’ ( this doesn’t go for her natural humanoid form, though. )  teleportation takes a good amount of thought. worse still, she can’t appear completely human. even if she were to go on down to solomon to get the gene lifted, she is made of unnatural attributes.
what’s one thing they hope to learn or are currently trying to learn with their abilities? easier shapeshifting and teleportation. more than that, how to cut out the forced empathy. not because part of the brotherhood’s deal is killing, rather because it would be nice to be able to distance yourself from someone else, but it is... imposseeiblay.
what is the most powerful thing your mutant can do with their abilities? do you think they would actually do it? a lil chomp chomp, a lil replicating of the dna, and then a lil single white female ! ...i kid, i kid -- kind of. any technology ? weapon in her hand. obviously she’d use it. and, while used mainly as a defense mechanism, invulnerability means going through a whole scrap unscathed ! also psionic stuff blah blah blah. has the potential for a full arsenal, but currently just sticking to the wikia page out of fairness !
what are your mutant’s weaknesses? as said earlier, she can’t appear completely human. even in humanoid form, she has a certain silver glow -- faint, but there. also, like... can die. in combat situations, it would likely have to be from within, but can and will die. also, very much a her problem -- not the mutation -- but still a problem/weakness: drugs. mainly the experimental ones she’d been given that she’s created duplicates of. because street drugs are so 1980s :\
do they use their abilities in their day-to-day life? in what ways? yea ! for her job !
as a mutant, do they have any goals? dreams? DIE, HUMANS! DIE! (but... less snark-like.)
how do they feel about the last 30+ years of mutant history? notably, the presidential address of 1983 and the essex house? you know, considering she got fucked over by the government and was used as a subject down in old area 51, she didn’t take too kindly to that! in fact, that was what caused her to yoink all of the tracking chips out because she was not about to let them get even more ideas since... wow, okay -- she was... say it... say it out loud: a mutant. as for the essex house, tear down the wall(s)! tear down the wall(s)! tear down the wall(s)! it sounded like bad news bears from the beginning...

How many languages and which of them would the cast speak if we’re going to be completely historically accurate ?
This a great question that I can’t quite answer, but I spent six hours researching to give it a shot. I think that there’s a broad range of plausible languages and you’ve got leeway to choose how many. The first part is that different people have different affinities for languages. Some people can speak ten different languages fluently (or near-fluency), while others will struggle juggling three different ones in their brains. The range in the languages can affect this, too: it’s easy to mess up between similar languages. I personally have trouble speaking Spanish because in the middle of the sentence, I’ll drop a French word without even realizing it. The same thing doesn’t happen to me in other languages like German, though. By the same token as I’ve discussed before, similar languages are easier to learn. Going from English to Russian with the Cyrillic alphabet? More difficult than English to French, which makes up about a third of modern English. These are languages that are still in the same family (Proto-Indo-European, PIE), though, so it holds nothing to the difficulty of going from English to a language like Mandarin.
I’m breaking this answer into two parts: 1) how many?; 2) which ones? and I’m going to get carried away because I’m me so it’s below the break to spare you if this comes across your dash and you’re not a nerd...
PART 1: What’s a realistic number for them to speak?
I think that each member of the old guard probably has a certain number of languages which they’re comfortable with, a few more that they can understand/get by in, and a few that they may only know phrases from. The number of each isn’t the same for everyone. The average human being is able to speak ~1.5 languages. The most talented polyglots can speak upwards of 50 languages, maybe one guy even spoke 65 (mostly I want to mention he loved translating the phrase “kiss my ass”). This hyperpolyglot, Kreb aka “Kiss My Ass” Stan, had his brain dissected after his death and it showed a lot of “abnormalities”. That leads neuroscientists and me to believe that being able to study and learn 65 languages is either 1) a major skill that rewired his brain because he was flexing it so much; or 2) very abnormal and facilitated by his brain differences. Since their powers don’t make them stop being limited by the human brain (they can forget), I would say that it is unlikely that one of them is fluent/near fluent/comfortable in more than ~65 languages.
Getting past twelve languages is considered a feat, so I think only Andy, Quynh, Nicky, and Joe could be anywhere near the upper-bounds of languages. Remember, these hyperpolyglots spend their entire lives studying languages and often need refreshers. The members of the Old Guard don’t have the luxury of reading grammar books all day, and they also have to remember a bunch of combat training. You can argue that a lot of fighting is “muscle memory” aka located in the cerebellum and nowhere near language processing areas, but there’s still things like math, navigation, etc. that they need to remember. I doubt they have a list of their safe houses just lying around. The older members can speak more languages by virtue of being around longer and having that time to learn, but if we’re being realistic they should probably speak no more than ~45-55 languages comfortably. This doesn’t mean that they only *know* that many, but the other languages would be more like bad high school Spanish in America than able to wax poetic. Aside: that Joe is able to be poetic in what is AT LEAST his fourth or so language is very impressive and we should talk about that more.
How Many Each Member is Maximally Proficient In/Knowledgeable Of at the end of the film/Opening Fire comics run:
Lykon (comics): proficient in ~15, knowledgeable of ~30*
Lykon (movies): proficient in ~45, knowledgeable of ~80*
Andy: proficient in ~50, knowledgeable of ~100**
Quynh | Noriko: proficient in ~51, knowledgeable of ~90**
Joe: proficient in ~30, knowledgeable of ~80
Nicky: proficient in ~30, knowledgeable of ~80
Booker: proficient in ~10, knowledgeable of ~30
Nile: proficient in ~2 (maybe 3), knowledgeable of ~5
*In the comics, he is younger than Andy and Quynh and I assume he dies young. In the movie, it is strongly implied that he was the oldest. The reason why his numbers are not larger, however, is because at some point there were fewer languages as humanity had not dispersed as much as it eventually did. He’s also long before written language which facilitates learning for most people. RIP Lykon.
**I’m not saying that Quynh is smarter than Andy, just that she comes after written language and it should be slightly easier for her to pick things up. I’m giving Andy access to more languages, however, because PIE alone covers Europe, Central Asia, and South Asia. More on this later.
PART 2: Which languages would each of them speak?
I’ve covered this question a little in a previous post that was broadly about proto-indo-european/Andy-centric (check it out if you want), but I’ll give a broader survey of each character here.
A Quick Aside on Lykon: We don’t know enough about this character, and the fact that the comics and movie diverge so sharply does not help at all. I’m going to headcannon that he was from Eastern Africa, where most archaeologists agree that modern humans first appeared in the Horn of Africa aka modern Ethiopia and Somolia and neighbors, and predates Andy by ~3,000 years. For future purposes below and assuming a birth date for Andy in the range ~5,000BCE - 4,000BCE, this puts his birth at around ~8,000BCE - 7,000BCE. This is wild speculation, however. Maybe the early immortals should be spaced by warfare types (Stone Age, Bronze, Iron, Steel?) or maybe they pop up once a cultural region reaches a certain historic point or maybe they just sorta pop up and then live for six or seven thousands years. I’m working off the last assumption because it’s the simplest. The only thing I’m certain of is that Greg Rucka probably didn’t sit down and think this pattern through. If I’m wrong, oh well. I’m mad at him for all his historical inaccuracies. With dating from ~8,000BCE - 7,000BCE, I’m having trouble finding a name for the cultures that scientists/historians know were living there at the time. It’s probably because the region has been continually occupied since the first humans, which one can safely assume makes abandoned and undisturbed sites hard to fine.
A Quick Aside on Quynh | Noriko: I like the film better, so I’ll be working with Quynh. If there’s enough interest, I can add on Japanese for Noriko. I’m going to date Quynh to be ~1,500 years after Andy (maybe this should be the new date system, before Andy “BA” and after Andy “AA”). This puts her in the time range of ~3,500BCE - 2,500BCE which could place her in either the Đa Bút neolithic culture of modern-day Vietnam or the Phùng Nguyên bronze age culture of modern-day Vietnam. Those names are archaeological in nature, based on the location where sites have been found and dated to those ranges.
Other Origins: Because we have diverging cannons, I’m going to just state the backgrounds that I’ve assigned. Joe is from 1066CE with a background in the Arab-controlled Maghreb (more specifically, modern-day Tunisia and Northern Algeria). Nicky is from 1069CE with a background from the Italian maritime republic and city-state of Genoa. Booker is from 1770 southern France. Nile is from 1994 Chicago in the United States. Andy is from ~5,000BCE - 4,000BCE in the Caucasus (modern-day Georgia and Azerbaijan) or the South Western Eurasian Steppes, probably the Shulaveri-Shomu culture assuming that location.
The first language everyone learned, their “mother tongue” or “native language” is one that they definitely speak. It’s the language that they think in and would be hard-pressed to lose. This even includes now-dead languages, because, again, it’s the one that they learned to think with. Of course, it is possible to lose a language when you have no one to speak it with if you wanted to do something tragic, but I think that these things are too deeply ingrained for it it to happen by accident.
What Each One’s First Language Would Be:
Nile: American English, possibly African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) at home
Booker: Provençal/Occitan, possibly “standard French” (school and other places outside the home)
Nicky: Genoese Ligurian/Zeneize
Joe: Tunisian Derja/Tunisian Arabic/Tunisian, and possibly one of the dialects of the native Zenati language group based on where more precisely you place him
Quynh: Proto-Viet–Muong (which isn’t well documented because it’s so old)
Andy: Proto-Indo-European (PIE), but if you’re curious the Classical Scythian Language for which she is probably named is only off by a factor of 10 (4000 vs 400 BCE) *cue distressed sighing*
Lykon: Proto-Cushitic (also suffering a lack of documentation from being old as heck)
Other than their first languages, what else they learn depends on where they go. People learned languages back then for the same reasons that they do today: to communicate (and to read, after the invention of writing).
Additional Confirmed or Likely Cannon Languages:
Nile: Spanish because of the American school system for sure. French is listed on the IG account, but she probably speaks only Spanish or French to a degree of fluency, definitely one better than the other. Very Basic Pashto, which we see her use some obviously-memorized phrases with in the film.
Booker: The IG promo things asserts that he knows (modern, standard) Italian and Greek. Why not? He also probably knows Spanish depending on where more specifically in southern France he is from. He’s probably also picked up on at least Very Basic Arabic from Joe and Nicky, but actually learning the language would take commitment from him. He also clearly speaks English.
Nicky: Other Italian dialects, and it would be fairly easy for him to have picked up modern Italian. He definitely reads Latin. If he was from a wealthy family, he probably also speaks Greek. If he was from a trading family, he probably speaks the trading pidgin of Sabir. The IG account confirms Arabic (vague, but okay I’ll be generous and say modern standard Arabic) and Romanche (they meant to write Romansh). I think Romansh is poorly chosen to characterize him in Northern Italy, but I’m feeling generous. He also clearly speaks English.
Joe: He definitely speaks standard Arabic to have been able to communicate with other Arabic-speakers in Jerusalem.  Genoese Ligurian/Zeneize because of the love of his life, which also means he probably picked up modern Italian at some point. The IG account confirms Farsi (they call it “Persian” *cue screaming*), which works if he was a merchant who traveled far to eastward on the Silk Road...and if you go with the comic cannon makes more sense. I’m going to say that he speaks the Mediterranean trading pidgin Sabir because of his location in Tunisia. If he was from a wealthy merchant family and could afford schooling, he probably learned Greek and maybe also Latin. There’s a good chance that he knows conversational-levels of other native Zenati languages thanks to colonialism discouraging their usage. He also clearly speaks English.
Quynh: We don’t actually know if she speaks English, but it’s safe to assume she does speak at least some of it. She’s probably learned Vietnamese and Mường because of her mastery of their proto-language. Because I see her returning to modern-day Vietnam to fight the Chinese colonization, I think that she might know Cantonese or Mandarin. Based on her travels with Andy, I’d like to propose Greek, Latin, and Mongolian. I’m sure that Andy and her share a language, but who knows which one they were each speaking when they met!
Andy: The IG account says “all,” but I’ve discussed this elsewhere (*major eye rolling*). She almost certainly picked up Scythian and Greek based on her chosen name. Latin isn’t as likely as you’d think, but is possible. I’d like to think that she’s also partial to learning Russian (or some earlier form of the language), Mongolian, and Armenian. Based on her travels with Quynh, I imagine that she speaks Cantonese or Mandarin and Vietnamese or Mu’o’ng. There is some mystery language shared with Quynh, too. She also clearly speaks English.
Lykon: I really don’t know enough about him to hazard any guesses. He should share at least one language in common with Andy and Quynh. If his date of death is ~2,000- 1,000 BCE like I’m supposing, there’s a good chance that he only speaks one or two currently-named languages. Sorry, OP.

We don't have a lot to go on but do you think any of the Bellas have siblings? What do you think their family lives are like?
Oh wow! This gave me a lot to think about! Ok I think I've got my thoughts together. Obviously, this is just from my own random brain thoughts and I would love to hear what other people think of the Bellas and their siblings
Aubrey I like the idea of Aubrey having a brother and sister. Her being the middle child and having to work hard to be noticed. Living in the shadow of an older brother or something and with a younger sister who seems to just get away with everything and they just stresses Aubrey out. Like she has the pressure of trying to live up to her brother's shadow but also expected to set a good example for her sister who never pays attention. I see her family being quite prim and proper and always keeping up appearances.
Stacey I’ve always thought of her as an only child. Very largely independent and kind of gets her ‘siblings’ from her friend's groups. Like she loves her parents but they just kind of let her do whatever and because of that I imagine Stacey is quite street savvy. Her parents don't have a clue about half the things she gets up to.
Lilly Well since Lilly was born in Area 51 I don’t see her with any siblings. We know she had a twin that she ate in the womb which I like to imagine is her alter ego Esther. I like the idea that she has a lot of close friends who she grew up with within Area 51 who she sees as her siblings. They're like a weird awesome family. Can you imagine the Bellas meeting some of Lilly’s Area 51 family?
Jessica She’s the oldest with siblings. I like the idea of her being really good with her siblings and helped look after them growing up. I could see her in a large family. Jessica and Ashley because they're almost the same in a lot of ways I can see them having every similar middle-class family.
Ashley I kind of like the idea of Ashley having one sibling and there’s a bit of sibling rivalry there. But they're close.
Flo I imagine Flo having a few brothers or sisters. I think she mentions her brother trying to sell her for a chicken in Pitch Perfect 2. So I can imagine her brother is back in Guatemala making earning a living making weird deals.
Amy To me, Amy is an only child. I mean the thought of there being more Amy’s I don’t know if the world could handle it. We do know that she comes from a broken home and I like to think that maybe that's something that makes her and Beca close because they can kind of relate to that.
CR She comes from a large family. I really love the idea of her going home for like thanksgiving or something and it being like this big family meal.
Emily I really like the idea of Emily being the youngest and maybe having an older brother. But I often see her as an only child. She's a hard one because I could see her coming from quite a pretty average upbringing but when she mentions her dad having a different last name in Pitch Perfect 2 I wonder if they are divorced.
Chloe I’ve always seen Chloe as having siblings. I kind of flip between her having a large family to maybe having like just a brother or sister and there all just the same outgoing and ginger. Like when you get them all together you know the Beatles have arrived.
Beca Beca has always been an only child to me. I find it hard to imagine her with siblings. It throws me off when I think about Pitch Perfect one because in the scene when Beca goes to get her dads advice there’s a photo of what looks like a young boy on the shelf. So if she does I think it would be like a younger step-sibling. I often like to imagine her mother in many different ways but often I settle on a hardworking single mother. She never re-married after Beca's dad left having walls as tall as Beca does herself, and they both had each other for support. I think she would have found it hard to see Beca leave to go to Barden. Another thought I often have is that she died at some point and Beca had to move in with her dad which is why he can get her to go to Barden and we see no mention of her in the film.

Mangadex went down so I read alot 1/7
Lets review a bunch of isekai and related stuff I binged because mangadex went down. The scale will be a single thumbs up to a single thumbs down in terms of how much I would consider recommending it in general.
Legend
Tumblr media
Chapters 1-51 Pretty straight forward in most aspects. For the best. Nothing crazy bad or good happening, making it surprisingly straight forward for an isekai. [Insert isekai startup here] but this time the MC is given a super magic body and the knowledge of ancient magic. Which he promptly uses to create a griffon buddy. Gets a THUMB IN THE UPPER CORNER for just being a nice, believable stay in a world, but I have read some stuff that really has interesting sparks the way this doesnt. MC is brutal at times and General Princess is cute. They make a good pair for each other.  Although there are no ecchi situations, that artist really knows how to slide in the lewds, whether its mid combat flourishes or pre chapter artwork.
The Black Create Summoner: Revolt of Reincarnated
Tumblr media
All Chapters
Truly is revolting. A resounding THUMBS DOWN.  Apparently this was just an advertisement manga, which means that its intentionally incomplete and unsatisfying. Ontop of that, the sketchy artwork was generally rough and got worse to look at the more it went on. [Insert isekai startup here] but this time he has a grimoire that lets him summon stuff he draws. The power isn’t used that much though or in that creative of ways. Characters didn’t really leave an impact except maybe the elf little sister that is stubborn yet knows she is incompotent and recruits a dragon out of stubbornness.
Minotaur’s Sweetheart
Tumblr media
Chapters 1-16
So what if a minotaur accidentally seduced the adventurer that was assigned to kill him? This is a good romance manga deserving a THUMBS UP because the pure-hearted minotaur boy and the unmarriageable adventurer girl actually develop a relationship and progress as people. The manga is ultimately about monsters and humans interacting and is fresh due to having a plot that evolves the situation a lot beyond the initial setup of the manga.
Moon-led Journey Across Another World
Tumblr media
Chapters 1-64
[Insert isekai startup here] but this time the god of the new world calls the MC ugly and banishes him to the edge of the world to die off. In order to help out the MC, the god of our world (Tsukuyomi) gives him a bit of power. The MC is funny to watch once you realize that he is an incredibly cautious pureboy and expecting every common street thug to potentially end him but in reality he is a god-rivaling cataclysm himself and never realizes. He is so powerful that he recruits the blue haired mist dragon, Tomoe, and accidentally turns her into a weeaboo. Tomoe can read minds and access pocket space with her mist ontop of her sick weeaboo katana skills. She really shines as the most mature person in the story, gaining information that no one else in the story has and carefully withholding it from the MC in order to protect his innocence. She is a DAMN good tomboyish waifu and sarashii is a blessing. Other main girl is yandere spider, Mio, which has shockingly good and well conveyed bouts of emotion. She has an extremely rare “can’t cook at all” joke that is explained due to her “eat literally anything” nature. In terms of plot, the MC hates the god of the world he is in and pretty much plans to do everything she doesn’t want him to. Which means mingling with humans, and eventually, god slaying/usurption. Odd think about this manga is that it’s heavily Japanese-inspired. That may sound odd because its a manga, but generally isekai are most medieval/western skinned than this one which leans in on Japanese mythos. Just look at the god of our world in the manga.
THUMBS UP.
The Unsuccessful yet Academically Unparalleled Sage ~A Cheating S-Rank Sorcerer's Post-Rebirth Adventurer Log~
Tumblr media
Chapter 1-10 So lets set up this genre here. This is a part of the “reincarnation” genre, which is a spinoff of isekai. They generally depict a very capable mage who reincarnates themselves into the future of their own world. At which point they realize that although they were pretty strong in their day, they are now practically a god in the deteriorated modern day. This genre will hereby be indicated by [Insert reincarnation startup here]. For this manga in specific, [Insert isekai startup here] but this time the MC could only use lightning magic and was the best at it but failed the gene gacha then [Insert reincarnation startup here] and he fails gene gacha again but is still the walking thunder god. These kinds of manga are always precious when the MC can walk through the world and see the fruits of their past labor. Specifically through Merlin, the MC’s adopted demon daughter who has grown up to be his heritor and bridge human/demon relationships. Truly adorable and heart warming. Lacks a bit of spice from themeing or ongoing plot due to its short length however. THUMB IN THE UPPER CORNER.
Older Elite Knight is cute only in front of me
Tumblr media
Chapters 1-17.1
THUMBS UP. This is an oneshota manga where shota is a chad with incredibly good tastes. A really good ecchi manga with a light hearted story featuring Haru(the shota) knight that joins Karen’s(the oneesan) knight crew. As with all good romance manga, the main plot isn’t romance. Knight shenanigins are always happening, with a big (and lewd) bad entering recently. Top tier variation on the lewds, even including a princess loli in on the fun. Must read for all oneshota fans.
Lonely Attack on A Different World
Tumblr media
Chapter 1-91
[Insert isekai startup forma de classroom here] but this time the MC gets leftover garbage skills and has to learn to survive. Learning to survive thus makes him the most op and he can magic trick his way out of literally anything. Strong start as the whole classroom first tries to get their footing, but after the starting arc is done this manga starts spinning it’s wheels. The manga is kinda lacking in themes, overarching plot and end goals, so stuff just happens to make this a sort of slice of life trap room escape manga. Magic “just works” in this universe so its not very dramatic when the MC pulls out a new trick out of his bag of million tricks. Just kinda stagnates too much for my liking. THUMB IN THE BOTTOM CORNER.
The Unwanted Undead Adventurer
Tumblr media
Chapters 1-34
Rentt Faina, the MC, is a good guy with no talent who aspires to be a legendary adventurer. But then he gets turned into a skeleton, giving the chance to evolve his way to greatness, kinda like in Spider isekai or Dragon isekai. The MC is most like Goblin Slayer in his serious and knowledgeable approach to the world, how characters that know him revere him. End goal so far is just him seeing how far he can evolve as he comes across other vampires and vampire hunters. Really want to see him go to the top. Fuckin great art. Girls drawn perfect. Like the hat on the guild girl, but nothing beats the witch Lorraine. THUMBS UP.
Teihen Ryoushu No Kanchigai Eiyuutan
Tumblr media
Chapters 1-13
THUMB IN UPPER CORNER. Pretty funny comedy about a lord of a poor land who wants to be a stereotypical evil lord but can only use healing magic. Therefore he bumbles his way into accepting a heretical cult nun, beast men who hate humans, etc. All the girls are to crazy for him to want to sex them(weak. give the assassin nun your babies). Most interesting parts are aforementioned nun, his fujoshi assistant, and the MC’s willingness to use his power to commit heretical and immoral warcrimes.
The Undead Lord of the Palace of Darkness
Tumblr media
Chapters 1-11
Art average, don’t come to this one for spectacle. It’s strength is in the subertfuge that it’s recently-necromanced-back-to-life MC goes through to get his Master killed and to later, probably, evolve into a vampire. MC isn’t evil though, just wants to survive. Main girl on cover was born and raised to hunt vampires but has a compassionate heart. Obviously she goes easy on and relates to MC. Story is still kinda in it’s first arc so the overall trajectory of the story is a bit hard to gauge and not quite satisfying enough by its own right. Probably a thumb up with more chapters but for now THUMB IN THE UPPER CORNER.
The Reincarnated Inferior Magic Swordsman
Tumblr media
Chapters 1-38
[Insert isekai startup here] but this time.... uh... THUMB SIDEWAYS. Usually I am patient, but 31 chapters with no goal and just barely plot? Wow. Saving grace is uh... I guess the world of “other isekai people existed but they sucked because they didn’t level uncap like MC” could go somewhere but. I take it back, lowering this one to a THUMB DOWN.
The Invincible Sage in the Second World.
Tumblr media
Chapters 1-12
[Insert isekai startup here] but this time a pro mmo player in a game called “Broken Balance Online.” Guess what his class, the sage class, was considered in the game? Not far along enough to really pop off but it isn’t horrible. MC is moderately cautious to a healthy degree which is actually rare in most isekai. THUMB IN BOTTOM LEFT CORNER.
The Dark Queen and I Strike Back
Tumblr media
Chapters 1-29.5
Although technically an isekai, no isekai startup here. This a battle manga with a big mystery on the backdrop of a war. That is to say, the MC gets teleported to a world to kill the demons but he ends up defending them from the humans with all he’s got. Of special note is the complete seriousness of this manga that whiplashes into debauchery like tentacles, the above cover, oneshota, and even really dark jokes in some of the omake. That tonal lash effect will be either make or break, and it is a HUGE make for me. I love when a single piece can have both absolute serious scenes and utterly lighthearted and fluffy ones. Or in this case utterly lewd ones. May the average-human-amount-of-perverted MC one day slam some demon lord loli. THUMBS UP.
Chillin' in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers
Tumblr media
Chapters 1-24
THUMB SIDEWAYS. Has the feeling of a nerfed slime isekai. Nerfed in all ways except romance. Art surprisingly good.

Annie Cardigan | February - March, 2021
Happy International Women’s Day!
The pattern and colours of this cardigan are chosen specifically with Women’s Day in mind, and is named after the first woman to gain honours at Oxford, Annie Mary Anne Henley Rogers. She gained her first class honours in Latin and Greek in 1877, followed by first class honours in Ancient History in 1879, and finally matriculated and graduated in 1920.
A lot has happened in the recent few months which made me re-consider my degree at Oxford, but I have never regretted going there or doubted the value of the experience. I have been taught by so many lovely women teachers and professors and met so many fellow female students—which made me sometimes forget the gender inequality in academia and in schools of all ages—and it almost feels like nothing can make me give up the opportunity to be welcomed in this place where I am expected to actually achieve something.
Aren’t I lucky?
This cardigan is probably my last big project until July, because after a long struggle, I’ve decided to finish what I started—I will need to pass the exams in order to continue my study. Today is one of those good days where I feel connected to the world, and I must cherish my opportunity at Oxford because it hasn’t been an easy fight.
There might be a life waiting for me somewhere. Maybe it’s not going to be too bad. Maybe I just need to push myself a little harder. To eat a bit more, to exercise a bit more (not to. lose weight but to be ready for the long hikes in the summer vacation), and to talk a bit more when I feel like it.
Tumblr media
Pattern
Once and Floral by Maxim Cyr.
It was a very simple top-down yoke sweater and the instruction was clear. I set myself a difficult task by deciding to make a cardigan instead and doing the body in flat rather than in the round, which meant doing stranded colourwork from the purl side.
The only problem with the pattern was that the required gauge seemed very odd to me. It was 26sts*30 rows in a 10cm square and the author used a standard fingering weight yarn (400m/100g) and 3.5mm needles. I used a light fingering weight yarn and 3.25 needles, which theoretically should make a tighter gauge, but got around 25sts*34 rows per 10cm. Maybe if I pulled my swatch vertically when blocking, I could have achieved what the pattern asked for, which was very tight in stitch gauge but very loose in row gauge. Thankfully it didn’t create too much trouble for me and I had only a few small mods. (Please refer to the Modification section.)
I am becoming more aware of the accessibility issues of Ravelry, and will try to discover more patterns that are available outside of Ravelry. I have access to books by Japanese designers, but if you know any good source for large, complicated, heirloom lace shawls, please let me know!
Yarn
Isager Alpaca 2, 50% alpaca, 50% wool. 250m per 50g skein.
White: (from the Eco range of Alpaca 2) #E0. I used about 30g (11g left from a used ball), or 150m.
Green: #thyme. I used about 168g (52g left from the four skeins I used), or 840m.
Purple: #52. I used about 10g (44g left), or 50m.
(I find that most skeins are a little more than 50g, so the figures are not exact. The usage of the #thyme also includes two small swatches. The whole cardigan weighs 205g without buttons.)
I’ve worked with this yarn before in my Scandinavian Spring cardigan, and this time I’m very pleased with it as well. It is made of natural fibres and has a nice wooly smell. It creates a thin, soft, and warm fabric that grows and puffs up after blocking. In fact, the Isager website specifically recommends it for cardigans.
The down side of such a soft yarn is obviously that it’s not as hard-wearing as some of the more rustic woolen yarns (such as Tukuwool Fingering). The website does state that it’s not able to handle too much wear and tear, but that is okay for me since both this cardigan and my Scandinavian Cardigan are very special and I do not expect to wear them as everyday garments.
These skeins did have travelled a long way to reach me, so I need to keep the carbon emission in mind. I purchased them from a local yarn store which bulk-ordered from the Isager website, though, so at least that’s better than buying small amounts directly from the Isager store. For this specific project, I only had to buy two more skeins of #thyme and one skein of #52, and the rest came from my stash.
Tumblr media
(Can you see the heathered effect on this swatch? I'm swooning 😍)
Other materials
I used freshwater mother of pearl buttons. I’m not sure about the source of these buttons, but I understand that freshwater mussels are very important to the ecological systems in which they live (as are all other species), and I do hope that they come from responsible farming.
As for the thread to sew on the buttons, I opted for Fujix Patchwork Coton #50, which is 100% cotton with a coating that makes it a bit glossier, stiffer, and presumably stronger than the average cotton thread.
Needle sizes
3.25mm for the main body
2.5mm for the ribbing, because I like the ribbing to hug my body snugly and was worried about it being stretched out.
Finished size
I no longer think it’s relevant to take excessive measurements of my finished project, so I will only note the essential figures that might help me (or you) if trying to figure out how many stitches to cast on, how to adjust the yoke, etc.
Underarm circumference: 82cm
Total length of the yoke chart: 16cm
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Three ways to wear the cardigan, and the white bordering with which I'm so pleased - see Mod.)
Modifications
The most obvious mod is of course that I changed it from a pullover to a cardigan. Normally you would still knit in the round and steek the front later, but in order to preserve the yarn, I knitted the body back and forth.
I casted on 110sts instead of 120 because I was hoping for a tight collar. Then in the first row I increased to 120sts.
For the colourwork yoke, there were a few rows where I had only three or four sts of one colour in a repeat and the remaining sts are all in other colours (such as the rows showing the stamen), and for me it wasn’t worth it to carry the yarn of that colour all the way along the row. Hence I used a separate length of yarn to knit those few stitches in each repeat. For the stamen, I cut a length of green yarn for each repeat and knitted it in intarsia.
I did the body first. And then I was hesitant about the design of the hemming, button bands, and the collar, so I did them (in the order I mentioned them) before knitting the sleeves to save some brain power. I had seven button holes, one on the collar band and the rest on the button band, similar to the front of a shirt. The third button was specifically placed to echo the design of the yoke.
The pattern called for 1*1 ribbing, but I did 2*2 as it was stretchier. I did invisible 2*2 bind off with a decorative lining, and the technique is similar to what I did with my Toscana Shrug: after several rows of 2*2 ribbing in green, I switched to white and did one more row of ribbing. Then in white I bound off using the invisible method. You need to knit one row in the contrasting colour before binding off; otherwise it would look somewhat messy.)
You may know that when you change colours, there will be a dotted line on the purl side, and the same thing happens for the ‘purl’ part of the ribbing. I was really worried, but the invisible bound off seemed to have covered up that dotted line, so the result was quite neat—a nice surprise!
For each of the sleeve, I have 74sts on the set up row. I knitted 10 rows, then from next row: (dec 2 for the row, knit nine more rows) repeat five times. So at about elbow length I had five dec rows and 64sts on the needles. I knitted 51 rows to create a straight (instead of tapered) forearm. Then I dec 4 each row for five rows, and ended up with 44sts. I then switched to 2.5mm needles and did 2*2 ribbing. I knitted the ribbing extra long so that I could fold it back, which was the way I preferred.
(Here is a tutorial by Anushka about sewing buttons onto knitted garments, which is very helpful.)
Further Considerations
This was my first time doing colourwork from the purl side and it definitely was not a pleasant job. With more practice I will hopefully become better at it, though! I did reserve knitting (knitting from left to right) instead of purling for a few rows, but gave up as I couldn’t find a way to hold yarn comfortably with my left hand. I might need more practice there, too.
The ribbing is a little bit on the tight side, but at the moment I don’t have a problem with it. If I find it still too tight after some wear, next time I will remember to use 2.75mm needles. The 44sts cuffs are quite snug on my wrists, so next time I’ll do 48sts or more instead.
I still have a fair bit of Isager Alpaca 2 left, and I really need some long gloves to warm my wrists as well as forearms, so I might be knitting a pair of fingerless gloves later.

So I’m going to do a separate post about SNK 131 but I wanted to point something out about how many chapters we most likely have left and what the implications for the final season of SNK will be. It is a lot of numbers and is rather lengthy, but I do think it hints at how many more chapters of SNK we have left. Obviously SPOILERS AHEAD if you haven’t read it or just watch the anime
So if the final season of SNK starts in October it kind of seems like the ending is coming very soon unless they split the final season into 2 parts which doesn’t sit right with me. We must remember that we would’ve been on SNK 132 by now if it wasn’t for Covid-19, so it’s not a stretch to think that maybe Isayama has worked ahead a bit and has given the geniuses at MAPPA a rough draft version of the next 3 to 7 chapters.
Anyways obviously if it is 3 then that means the manga ends in November, and if it’s 7 chapters left, it ends in March. I highly doubt it is March because by that point we would be about 20 episodes deep. To put this in comparison let’s take a look at previous seasons:
Season 1: Covers chapters 1 through 34 in 25 episodes. On average an episode covers about 1.36 chapters in season 1.
Season 2: While it does cover chapters 35-51, do remember it also covers Ymir’s backstory so it actually includes (most of) chapter 89, so 18 chapters. Season 2 was also only 12 episodes. On average an episode covers about 1.5 chapters in season 2.
Season 3: Season 3 was divided into 2 parts, but had a gap between the 2 parts. Part 1 of season 3 only covers chapters 51 to 70 in 12 episodes, so about 1.6 chapters an episode (1.58 if you just wanna say 52 to 70). Part 2 covers chapters 71 to 90. As we mentioned earlier chapter 89 was mostly covered in season 2 except the beginning part and ending part of it. To make this easier, we’ll just say Part 2 covers 19 chapters in 10 episodes. So on average, an episode covers about 1.9 chapters. If you combine both parts, one episode of season 3 covers about 1.7 episodes.
Unfortunately, each season does have a different amount of episodes so it is inconsistent. However, if we divide 90 chapters by 59 episodes, you get about 1.5 chapters covered in an episode of SNK.
So needless to say the final season would cover chapters 91 to whatever the final chapter will be. For the sake of this we’re just going to say there will only be 134 or 138 chapters (So a total of 33 or 34 volumes) with an epilogue attached to the last chapter.
To start that is 44 to 48 chapters to cover. That is more than any other season by at least 10 chapters if not 14. If we go by 1.5 chapters equals 1 episode, that would equate to about 29 to 32 episodes give or take.
As it is right now there would be roughly about 4.6 episodes worth of content is probably not yet drawn if the manga goes to 138 chapters (only 2 episodes if it goes to 134). Now that may not seem like a lot but please do remember that rough estimates suggest each episode takes about 1 to 3 months to animate. Now as I said earlier by the time we got to March we would probably be about 20 episodes in if they don’t cut the season in half.
If we were 20 episodes in by then and had 32 episodes after the manga concludes in March with 138 chapters, it’s not impossible for MAPPA to animate the last few chapters they were waiting on, but it’d be cutting it really close without a delay. If it ends in November then there’s no need to worry about it.
I know that was a long read and had a lot of numbers, but the point of this was to point out that logistics wise, we probably only have 3 chapters left if they don’t split the final season into 2 parts. Obviously, it’s very likely they will split it and in that case we probably do have 7 chapters left. Because if we only have 3 chapters left it feels like it is going to be really rushed, but you can tell that this manga is wrapping up so it’s not out of the realm of possibilities.

DELTARUNE
So, there are plenty of allusions/paralles to Undertale in Deltarune and some easter eggs. I’ve made a list of the ones that I managed to find/catch. I’m pretty sure there are more of them.
1. There is an easter egg with naming your vessel and yourself. Like in Undertale using names of characters from the game will trigger a special dialogue (and like in Undertale naming your vessel or yourself “Gaster” will close the game).
Tumblr media
2. When you look through the window in your room there is reference to Sans’ genocide fight.
Tumblr media
3. A reference to Tsundere Cactus from Undertale, but in Deltarune it’s just an average cactus.
Tumblr media
4. Recognizing yourself in the mirror.
Tumblr media
5. Toriel hugs Kris almost the same way she hugs Frisk.
Tumblr media
6. Alphys is still a weeaboo obsessed with Mew Mew ^^
Tumblr media
7. Temmie still has the EG, but this time she is a partner not a proud parent.
Tumblr media
8. If you try using your phone in the Dark World it will start making “Gaster noises”.
Tumblr media
9. Ralsei’s cloak resembels the one that River Person wears (could River Person be a Darkner?)
Tumblr media
10. Lancer’s bike might be a reference to Sans’ bike from the True Pacifist credit scene.
Tumblr media
11. How Ralsei introduces us to the game mechanics is like a combination of both Flowey’s and Toriel’s tutorials. Telling what a soul is and how the fighting works is “Flowey’s part” and usage of Dummy and sparing being a preferable option is “Toriel’s part”.
Tumblr media
12. Possibly a parallel to comforting a goatbro (Ralsei is a Goat/Boss Monster and a prince just like Asriel).
Tumblr media
13. The shopkeepr hints a secret battle with Jevil in the early stage of the game.
Tumblr media
15. The plush that Seam has on a shelf has is a reference to one of the Temmie Chang’s (she helped Toby create Undertale) characters, but I couldn’t find a picture of it.
Tumblr media
16. Seam also gives us hints that Jevil knows Gaster. Here’s a video with a full dialogue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PukI_JTyVg
Tumblr media
17.  The crown that K. Round wears might be reference to Super Crown, but the way it works is a ref to the big shroom power up. The sound that K. Round makes while growing up and shrinking is very similar to the sound from Mario games.
Tumblr media
18. It is surely a reference to Sans’ room door (the weird glow), but it may also have something to do with Gaster’s grey door.
Tumblr media
19. The sequence that Lancer and Susie perform is possibly a reference to Team R’s sequence from Pokemon series.
Tumblr media
20. Possibly an Undertale Yellow easter egg? (the main charater is named Clover in UT:Y)
Tumblr media
21. Even if you got rid of that tree you can still interact with it and get the dialogie box.
Tumblr media
22. Lancer misses his attacks on Susie the same way Toriel does that when Frisk has low HP.
Tumblr media
23. The theme that plays on floor ?????? inside the Card Castle uses the leitmotif of Gaster’s Theme. (can’t find a link with the theme)
Tumblr media
24. A reference to Patrick from cartoon “Spongebob Squarepants”. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNZSXnrbs_k
Tumblr media
25. Another Pokemon’s reference.
Tumblr media
26. You can interact with these pictures, when you interact with all 3 of them they’ll make a splat noise. I’m not sure if it does anything else.
Tumblr media
27. Lancer has the same weird pics in his room, you can interact with them too, but they won’t make splat noise. But on the other hand there are CDs with recorded splat noises (the same that 3 previous pics make).
Tumblr media
28. She talks about the cake that Susie ate ealier.
Tumblr media
29. A missing pixel lmao
Tumblr media
30. The cards and chess are references to the enemies from Dark World. There’s also a plushie of Shopkeer Seam under the board.
Tumblr media
31. Kris looks similar to unused Frisk sprite.
Tumblr media
32. The word “library” is still misspelled.
Tumblr media
33. Temmie still wants to go to colleg. That’s the spirit!
Tumblr media
34. Apparently Alphys prefers Mew Mew 2 now.
Tumblr media
35. Heats Flamesman reference.
Tumblr media
36. Just Toby at work.
Tumblr media
37. He’s slacking off however.
Tumblr media
38. We finally know after which monster Gaster Follower 3 was modeled.
Tumblr media
39. Deltarune is definitely a different universe/timeline, cause Undyne doesn’t know Alphys and she still has both eyes. Also Bratty and Catty not only barely know each other, but they hate each other as well (in Undertale they are best friends).
Tumblr media
40. On the left - dude who bought Muffet’s donut and regreted that later on, on the right - that weirdo from Napstablook’s snail farm.
Tumblr media
41. Police station and Undyne’s house share the same doormat.
Tumblr media
42. The big mouth monster that was spending time at Grillby’s, also a possible reference to nurse Joy from Pokemon series.
Tumblr media
43. A reference to the absurdly tall sink from skelebros’ house. (also that blue bear might be inspired by 5.0.5 from Villainous)
Tumblr media
44. Gerson is dead in Deltarune, also his last name is Boom. The hammer on his tombstone refers to his “nickname from war times” from Undertale - Hammer of Justice.
Tumblr media
45. The tombstones of monster who were amalgamates in original Undertale, but since in Deltarune Alphys was never a Royal Scientist, all of this monsters just died. From left to right - Snowdrake’s Mother, the dog (Endogeny), Shyren sister (Lemon Bread).
Tumblr media
46. Hand Receptionist from MTT Resort and politics bear from Snowdin.
Tumblr media
47. That weird cube-dog-like monster from Sans’ crossword.
Tumblr media
48. A reference to Purple Guy from game series FNAF (in Deltarune Burgerpants works at Pizzeria after all, hello?! it must be it xD).
Tumblr media
49. A bunny shopkeepr from Snowdin, the guy who works in Core, the Ice Wolf (and he finally has pants as he wanted), Fuku Fire and Skateboard girl (but they already graduated), the lion monster who is a fan of Mettaton and gets a dress from him after his musical, and the dragon dude who couldn’t return to his family cause the elevator at MTT Resort was turned off.
Tumblr media
50. Sans’ store is literally Grillby’s bar, but the name “Grillby” was removed and Sans added “ans” to the letter “S”. But he didn’t remove apostrophe. Well done Sans, well done.
Tumblr media
51. A reference to Spider-Man, “I’m your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man”. Sans even calls Kris “tiger” which is how MJ calls Peter (I forgot to make a screenshot of it tho).
Tumblr media
52. F#ck you Sans xD
Tumblr media
53. “trousle of bones” - it obviously refers to Papyrus’ theme Bonetrousle.
Tumblr media
54. Little bunny in the window is a child of that bunny monster who runs Snowdin Inn.
Tumblr media
55. A monster from Snowdin who loves knocks lives there. And apparently Kris is not as good at knocking as Frisk is.
Tumblr media
56. In the alley where you meet Alphys again there is a painting of Everyman (attack of Reaper Bird - one of the amalgamates). You can’t escape from your sins Alphys, even in another universe/timeline.
Tumblr media
57. Asgore’s introduction dialogue in Deltarune is literally the same as in Undertale.
Tumblr media
58. These flowers are an obvious allusion/parallel to the souls containers. The golden flower in the middle might be representing the empty container for Frisk’s determination soul. If you remember, in Undertale Alphys used a golden flower as a empty vessel to inject determination and that flower became Flowey later on.
Tumblr media
59. RG01 and RG02 are still together, and for some reason they are still wearing helmets even tho the Royal Guard is most likely not a thing in Deltarune xD
Tumblr media
60. If you wait long enough by the lake Onionsan will appear. He will ask what’s our name and will want to become friends. He also doesn’t remember his own name due to being alone for too long, so we have an option to gave him one.
Tumblr media
61. He also might have a dark secret hehe
Tumblr media
62. So there is most likely Mettaton, but we have no idea what’s up with Blooky. I’m hoping that in chapter 2 we will find out Mettaton’s canon ghost form and maybe his real name. Also I doubt that in Deltarune Mettaton has machine body, since Alphys never was a Royal Scientist in this universe/timeline.
Tumblr media
63. Chara possession much? also a hint to the ending of Deltarune chapter 1
Tumblr media
64. After Kris locks his soul in the cage you can still move it, but you can’t escape.
Tumblr media
65. The glowing red eyes, Post Genocide Pacifist vibes are strong in this one.
Tumblr media
These are all the allusions/parallel and easter eggs I was able to find. I’m sure there are more. Also there are some that I forgot to screenshot such as “characters titles” in party menu change: - Kris has a title of Leader, but if you check all 4 beds in Card Castle he has a title of Bed Inspector - Ralsei title changes after giving him different scarf There’s also at least one Annoying Dog easter egg in the party menu. Not to mention the anagrams: Deltarune - Undertale Ralsei - Asriel So yeah, that’s all folks. Hope you enjoyed, bye!
