DUNGEON MESHI EPISODE 24 THOUGHTS
Oh, I had asked to see what the party's thoughts regarding the changeling situation were, especially when it came to their lifespans, but I didn't think it would turn out like this!
GOOD FUCKING JOB, CHILCHUCK. YOU'VE TRAUMATIZED MARCILLE EVEN FURTHER. Oh but I do so love the horrors of this situation of theirs. Marcille babygirl I would like to hug you and have a nice chat.
Anywya, on we go to think about Falin and any solutions that might help us here. Which is great! I love how much foreshadowing there is (in terms of what I've been vaguely told about the manga).
Laios Touden's problem solving skills, everyone.
That's honestly the SICKEST weapon design, I'm so on board with you Laios. This could be Kensuke's Halloween makeover. BUT DONT JUST TAKE THOSE MUSHROOMS WITH YOU OH MY GOD
... was this the opening sequence foreshadowing everyone was freaking out about? was that it? (don't actually tell me, though. if it was it, say yes. if it wasn't, don't say anything)
no comment here I just love them.
I just will never get used to elfshi's hands being Like That. But it's also kinda nice to see him and Izutsumi working along so nicely! Like, don't even get me started on how Izu is presented as the pickiest eater of the party (Marcille has been dethroned severely) and usually you'd see that presented as a Hassle, but here in DM, Senshi doesn't even bat an eye. He knows and respects Izutsumi's tastes and preferences and works his meals out around it! That's such a based thing for him to do. <3
This is a renaissance painting. (I love it when they adapt Ryoko Kui's visual gags and I LOVE when she does zoomed in faces like this. Truly one of the artists ever)
I did not have "Laios gets Pissed On" on my bingo card but every day I grow more and more convinced that the animators KNOW what they're doing and - OH MY GOD IS THAT SENSHI'S DWUSSY. ELFSHI ALTERNATIVE TO PANTY SHOT.
Ah, yes, Izutsumi sprawls all over them when sleeping, we been knew, again it's a little unexpected to see it front and center but I guess it works to demonstrate them returning to - THAT WAS LAIOS??? AND CHILCHUCK IS JUST LIFTING HIS LEG LIKE THAT?? OKAY THEN. SURE.
(and then there's a few more seconds of laiosfoot and laios bedhead)
BUT HEY THEY'RE BACK TO NORMAL
1) Yep, they're back to normal.
2) Laios I love you and I love Gothsuke but someone needs to be careful about biohazards and it's not going to be you.
3) Add this to the "Marcille Donato gets threateningly close to you in three steps" folder.
4) Truly only they can match each other's freak. When the NECROMANCER is telling you not to do something, don't do it! I know last time you smuggled a "normal" sword, it turned out to be useful, but I'm sure that's not the case here!
5) Poor Laios tho. I'll learn to blacksmith just to give you a cool sword. <3
I'm so glad they kept this. One of the silliest touden siblings moments. 10/10 no notes. Also, Falin is never beating the blunt force trauma allegations.
IS THAT CHILCHUCK'S WIFE. ARE YOU - MA'AM. HELLO?
"Why aren't you a twink like I thought you'd be?!" gets adapted! (I'm pretty sure that's the scene meant to be here, anyways)
I get it, girl.
Oh dear, they're going to eat Falin. And SENSHI was the one to suggest it! For a guy who was just fighting the doubts of accidental cannibalism a week ago, you're taking bold steps forward.
(I do love how it mirrors Laios' kindness back then, in truth. Even if it's an idea so shocking and dire at first, it comes from a place of reason and logic and love)
Marcille "I said I wanted to eat her OUT, not eat HER" Donato Izutsumi "That's going to taste gross as fuck" Izutsumi Chilchuck "If it brings her back..." Tims Laios Touden, the man with a thousand things on his head right now, two of which I reckon are "I don't want to eat my sister" and "Dragon-Chicken... what might it taste like?"
Yes, well. Valid as your concerns are, Laios, because how the fuck would five people eat THAT much meat, you can't just ramble on about what dishes you're going to make out of your sister.
(...I get it, though. I mean if you're going to eat, might as well make it good, right? I know no one wants to grill one of Faligon's ribs but I'll go ahead and say it would be worse to tell them to eat her raw)
FUCK! we DID lose those scenes about the twin bell that toshiro kept!! forever sad about that.
oh my godddd they're going back into the dungeonnn we're going to reunite with themmm
I know they're really fucking competent, I mean, Namari and Toshiro are already described as pretty formidable warriors (and we've seen it), and Kabru is... admittedly much more geared to fight humans but he's a decent fighter either way. And a good leader!
Speaking of, where the fuck is everyone else.
I know they're meant to be scary (and I suppose they are! If we have the reference that, firstly, marcille is an excellent spellcaster so these elves could be just as good in their own areas of expertise, yes?, and secondly, the canaries are Well Known)
... plus, Namari, Toshiro and Kabru are wary of them. Namari, Toshiro and Kabru are wary of them.
BUT damn it Lycion, I need to- (gets dragged off stage)
Anyway, while we wait for the next season (WHICH HAS BEEN GREENLIT! WOHOO!), have these wonderful images of chicken falin being a cathedral painting (...if cathedrals ever added dragons, i guess) and my beloveds, who have finally returned!

Not to overanalyze a joke (I would never do that), but this moment from the fucking penguin short says a lot to me about Blitz and Moxxie's relationship and why it's so rocky.
Moxxie: I first read this interaction as Moxxie messing with Blitz, not gonna lie. But after some reflection, I don't think he is at all. Based on how fucking dialed in to every single task Moxxie gets (think all of Unhappy Campers or how carried away he gets with paying the street vendors in Seeing Stars), I think he's just so fixated on taking the notes Blitz is dictating that he completely fails to realize when Blitz's comments start to be not for the notes.
I think it also reveals a way in which Moxxie fundamentally doesn't understand Blitz. As the audience, we can tell right away that when Blitz switches to complaining, it's not for the notes. But I could see Moxxie viewing Blitz as sort of unpredictable/chaotic and truly not knowing that he wouldn't want it included. Will he yell at me for not including it? Don't know. Better be thorough to do a good job! And then he gets yelled at for including it. Poor guy.
Even though he's often critical of Blitz, Moxxie relies on Blitz's approval for his self-esteem a lot. So he's used to getting yelled at by his boss, but it still hurts him.
Blitz: Okay, our guy has a short temper in general, but especially with Moxxie. From his perspective, Moxxie is doing something completely nonsensical, and yes, beyond stupid.
At the beginning of the penguin short, it's clear that Blitz doesn't want to do this job. He thinks that what the client wants is pointless, and besides, they have to go somewhere freezing. And we get quite a few clues that he's been feeling down about the whole Stolas situation and he's not excited to work any job, much less this one. And in the midst of all that, Moxxie is making a mess of the notes, so now it will have to be fixed. It's very annoying.
Also, Moxxie often has this air of superiority with Blitz. He likes calling out Blitz for having stupid plans, and he often comes across as judgmental. In Truth Seekers, we saw that he feels like Moxxie is smarter than him and/or judging him. So his annoyance might also relate to the idea that Moxxie is both judgmental and always fucking up.
If we want to stretch it a bit (yes, I know it's a stretch), Blitz is relying on Moxxie for accurate and quick notes because if Blitz's dyslexic ass did it himself they'd be a mess. He doesn't want to spend time fixing his own work OR Moxxie's work.
In all: No, I don't think this is a big moment in the plot by any stretch. I just think it's a really funny and interesting way to highlight some aspects of their dynamic, especially since the short later sets them against each other in *cough* other areas.
As a final thought, there are absolutely conflicting trauma responses impacting the friendship/working relationship between these two, and very likely differing neurodivergences as well. Blitz for sure needs to apologize to Moxxie for how he treats him, but Moxxie could maybe stand to explain and possibly adapt some of his behaviors as well. (Get all these characters good mental healthcare please.)

When MC get turned into a GOOSE? #? #?
With : Azul ashengrotto, Floyd leech and jade leech
----------------------------------------------------------
Pt.1 (idia, malleus, rook)
â ď¸âźď¸: gender neutral MC/reader,
A/n: I'm really sorry for the lateness the exam week and the Eid prep are more hectic than I was expecting twt
----------------------------------------------------------

AZUL ASHENGROTTO !!
Azul Ashengrotto, the charismatic leader of the Octavinelle Dormitory, found himself facing an unexpected twist of fate.
It was a typical day in the prestigious academy until a mischievous spell gone awry transformed Azul's beloved into a goose. The culprit? None other than one of his own dorm students, a clumsy yet well-intentioned apprentice magician.
" How could they! "
" Oh, darling they're so mean to you!! "Azul angrily shouts and whimpers, all you can do is express your sadness with your body language since Azul and the twins cannot comprehend a single word u utter....
" Jade, floyd! Search the student that make my beloved turn into a goose! " He commands the twins but replied with Floyd Unexcitement
" Eehhh why noow!! I want to play with (reader) for a bit!! Let me hold them pleaseee~"
" Yeah, is a waste if we turn back (reader) immediately Azul... We can make a lot of money if we have (reader) goose as our mascot don't you think? " He says calmly yet so excitedly, ah... You're really fucked you think to yourself and quickly expressing disapproval of the twin's ideas Azul sighed " Yeah you're right, but I don't want to exploit them now, with this fragile body I'm afraid it will only hurt them" He says with a concerned and sad tone.
HUH? #? #? 2 What did he mean by 'didn't want to exploit them NOW #?! #? 2
" Anyway, you two please search for these two unresponsible student, and (reader) will go to Professor Crewel to somehow reverse the speel that they used "
" Tch, okayy okayy" Floyd replies with an annoyed voice towards azul
" That would do" Jade compactly replied

FLOYD LEECH !!
The usually uneventful campus was buzzing with whispers and curiosity as rumors spread like wildfire. Floyd Leech found himself at the center of attention. He couldn't quite believe the news himself. You, a regular student who had recently caught Floyd's eye, had mysteriously transformed into a goose overnight by the unresponsible octavinelle student !!
At first, Floyd couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of it all. But as he watched the bewildered goose waddle around the campus, he felt a pang of concern. The reader had always been kind to him, and now they were in such a bizarre and stressful situation as the good person he was and the curiosity that he has for you, Floyd took it upon himself to look after you. He brought them treats from the cafeteria, made sure they had a warm place to rest, and even tried to engage them in conversation, despite the obvious language barrier( he would find a way eventually lol) minutes turned into hours, and Floyd's initial amusement turned into genuine affection. He found himself spending more and more time with you, enjoying your silent company and finding solace in your presence.
As the hours passed, you on the other hand began to exhibit signs of distress. It was clear that you were struggling to adapt to your new form, and Floyd couldn't bear to see you suffer. With determination in his heart, Floyd sought out the most knowledgeable magicians in Night Raven College (crewel), desperate for a solution.
After countless hours of research and experimentation ( he got lectured for notRelief washed over Floyd as he watched the reader blink in confusion, taking in their surroundings. But what truly warmed his heart was the grateful smile that graced the reader's lips as they looked up at him.
"Little shrimpy, make more mess okay~ I enjoy it~ hehe" He says with his iconic smirk plastered on his face
" Did you know that you're so interesting~ I love you so much little shrimpy~"
after dropping you at the ramshackle dorm, he begins his search for the unresponsible octavinelle student and gives them a little squeezing and hugging <3~ (if u know what I mean)

JADE LEECH !!
In the bustling corridors of Night Raven College, chaos was not always an uncommon sight, especially within the mischievous confines of octavinelle dorm. On this particular day, however, chaos took a rather fowl turn.
You found yourself in a feathery predicament after an unfortunate encounter with Jade Leech's experimental magic. Transformed into a goose, (reader) waddles around the dormitory lobby, honking on everyone that they encounter with dismay and protests about jade leech experimental magic!!
Jade, the heterochromia witch of Octavinelle, couldn't suppress a mischievous chuckle as he watched [Reader] flapping their wings in frustration. "Well, well, well, look what we have here. Seems like someone's taken a liking to their new feathery form." He says with his iconic smirk
[Reader] shot Jade a glare, or at least attempted to with their beady goose eyes. Honking indignantly, they tried to convey their distress.
"Ah, don't be so mean to me, [Reader]," Jade teased, a smirk playing on his lips. "You make quite the adorable goose, if I do say so myself."
But behind his playful facade, Jade knew he had to find a solution to undo his unintended magic. With a reluctant sigh,
"Come here, darling I'm sorry, I'll turn you back to normal okay? Stay still okay" He uttered the word softly accompanied by his iconic chuckle and smirk displayed on his face

Probably not a hot take from me, but...
Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is one of the best family films of 2024.

SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT
It's not a perfect adaptation of Sonic Adventure 2 by any means, but it cleans up a lot of the unessary stuff from the game.
Especially in regards to Maria and the ARK.
I LOVE that the Space Colony ARK doesn't exist in this movie. Because the movie knows it doesn't need it. All it needs to adapt is the research facility where Maria dies and the Eclipse Cannon.
Gerald Robotnik is an interesting character in the film for sure. He still has the same hatred he harbored for humanity in SA2, but with the added bonus of resentment for his grandson, Ivo because, in his own words...
"You're no Maria."
Gerald definitely is playing favorites, and I think it's abundantly clear why. He sees himself in Ivo, and it disgusts him. Whereas with Maria, he can only remember her innocence.
Speaking of Ivo, man, he's great. I mean, he's just all over the place in this film. He's good, he'd bad... and he sure as hell is funny. He and Stone are great, and I love how he finally admits his true thoughts about him during his sacrifice. Stone deserved to be validated for all the shit Ivo put him through over the years.
Now, I wanna move on to our meat and potatoes. Sonic and Shadow. They're phenomenal. Sonic is pretty much the same as he was in Sonic 2, with a little bit of added angst, which is due entirely to the film's themes about family, morality, and loss. Shadow is... jesus... he was amazing. He was everything I wanted him to be. Cool, dark, yet understanding. That being said, I wish they spent more time on Shadow dealing with the issue of what Maria wanted VS getting revenge on GUN with Gerald. I think extending Shadow's conversation with Gerald about their plan and Maria's wish would have done this perfectly and, in turn, better set up his switch to the good side so it's not as "oh yeah I guess we're doing this now."
"Live and Learn."
Okay, time for me to gush about Crush 40.
First of all, SEGA needs to pay Johnny G. what he's owed. Second...
HOLY FUCK
Live and Learn is everywhere in this thing. It's basically Shadow's theme for this film, playing in moments where he's either doing cool shit, or turning further to the light.
And when it played when Sonic and Shadow went Super on the fucking moon?! Oh my god, I would've screamed if it weren't for the fact I was in a public movie theater. You do NOT understand what this means for the next few films. We might actually get songs like "What I'm Made Of" or "His World" adapted for these movies if they keep doing well.
And I don't need a masters degree in Sonic-The-Hedgehogology to tell you how COOL that would be.
Speaking of Sonic, I wanna turn it back to talk about him and Tom. Dude. I love how Tom is immediately ready to join Sonic on his adventures. He loves this kid and wants to support him in any way he can, and I bet Sonic's so happy Tom wants to Hero with him.
"What did you do."
Tom's injury towards the end actually hurt me a bit. I didn't realize how much I cared about him until they played with the possibility of his death in this film. Also, I love what it meant to Sonic. We've seen in Sonic 2 that Sonic has some pent-up aggression for the echidna that killed Longclaw, that he never really properly expresses. The possibility of losing Tom, his best friend and father figure, the first person he connected with after years of isolation, it drives Sonic into a dark mindset. And. I. Love it.
This is what modern Sonic stories need. To give Sonic a wide variety of emotions, for him to act rashly if his closest friends and family are hurt, because it gives him more personality and shows us just how much he cares.
"What was his name...? Tom...?"
I loved everything about the scenes where Tom is hinted at being dead. I love how Shadow sees Sonic's reaction to Tom's potential death, and he has a small realization that he's become just like who he hated. I love watching Sonic panicking because he might be losing his best friend and father. I love how Maddie tries to keep a hold of herself for the sake of Team Sonic. I love the argument between Knuckles and Sonic about the use of the Master Emerald. I love the fight between Super Shadow and Super Sonic. I love how Shadow criticizes Sonic for letting his blind rage take over. I love how he wants Sonic to finish the job, and Sonic realizes what he's doing.
"The light shines, even though the star is gone..."
Sonic and Shadow's brief conversation on the moon is actually really sweet. They share a connection through their losses, and Sonic is able to guide Shadow to the light, by simply telling him to make the right choice. I think it's great because up until now, I think Shadow believed what he was doing WAS the right thing. But after seeing himself become like the GUN agents who ended up killing Maria... He starts to doubt himself. He goes to Gerald, who reassures him that what they're doing is justified, but Shadow doesn't believe that. Note how in that scene he asks if "this is what Maria would have wanted." Gerald responds by basically ignoring his question, saying that destroying earth is what deserves to happen to it. Gerald's own attitude led to his downfall. It's what caused Shadow to realize that he's on the wrong side of the fight by the time Sonic and him are on the moon, sulking.
"There are no winners with revenge."
I love this line from Sonic. It says so much about his past experiences from the last 2 films. He's seen revenge constantly ruin his life. So to be the one delivering it...? It goes against everything he's stood for, crosses a line he doesn't want to cross, and most importantly, sets him up for failure.
"Don't tell me you have a catchphrase.."
I like the comradery between Sonic and Shadow in the Super Hogs v GUN drones fight. They have a newfound understanding for each other that I think would have been able to make them better friends had it not been for Shadow's sacrifice, which will probably lead to the amnesia plot lines from Heroes and Shadow 05, which means it'll probably make Shadow a Sonic hater again. But then again, these movies keep surprising me, so who knows, maybe we won't go that route?
"What..? Who are you?"
Speaking of surprises.
FUCKING. METALIX.
And AMY MOTHERFUCKING ROSE.
Holy fuck. You all have no idea how hype this is. Unfortunately, I can say much in terms of predictions, but I think we'll be in for a treat come 2027.

Okay I rewatched bsd, here are my thoughts :)
- I had read the manga too but that was a while ago. I still love how the anime adapts the manga and how it doesn't completely go off doing its own thing etc. I also feel like the anime increases the og pacing of the manga and I find that cunt!
- I have to say that the intelligence aspect of the characters is so outlandishly written. It's incredibly illogical and even for manga anime world, unrealistic. It makes sense for them to be smart but it doesn't make sense how they do what they do. It's not really explained at all. With the hunting dogs its at least somewhat explained why they are so OP, but with fyodor or dazai, we get zero Intel on their thought process.
A perfect example of a really well written realistic intelligent character would be L and light from death note. Their strategy is always somewhat or outright clear and it makes it fun for the viewer because they feel like a part of the team and not some third wheel. We can somewhat "relate" and sympathize etc.
Here. I wouldn't care about their beef if it didn't directly affect the ADA.
But im not sure how believable the author wants the story to be in the first place.. after all... he IS a kafka fan and you can expect a lot of fundamental vagueness disguised in a slew of allegedly meaningful metaphors from those guys.
I'm starting to believe that dazai and fyodor are actually so incredibly stupid it paradoxes into intelligence... I mean... fyodor definitely is morally demented but dazai is just... bro idk what the fuck he is and I don't care to be honest. All he wanted to do was die and somehow ended up in the mafia. But his suicidalness and how it's handeled and how it functions or dysfunctions in the plot, is a topic for a different conversation.
All I can say is: never make your characters OP in too many things. The plot is predictable and by now I just anticipate both of them to constantly outsmart each other and you know what? It happens all the fucking time.
I wouldn't be surprised if dazai ended up victorious or fyodor or if they both died or lived. Anything is possible with them and that is not good writing. You want the reader to believe that there is only one or two outcomes and then BOOM you smack them across the face with a really nice plot twist. All of the plot twists concerning the two are predictable in a way where you know one is coming but now how exactly it will happen.
Sooo unfortunate since they are the main people who move the plot forward. It's sad that the writer chose to go with the lame trope of "I have a backup plan for my backup plan for my backup plan" or "I knew that you knew that I knew that you knew that I knew"
The only thing keeping me going is the art style, the odd charm and i just have an enormous crush on fyodor and a soft spot for sigma and atsushi.

Comments on Netflix's Avatar The Last Airbender
*spoiler alert*
First of all I'm gonna start by saying it is one of the best adaptations I've seen so far. And that's the key word, adaptation. I've seen a lot of fans and others complain about some things that honestly, doesn't make sense because some things only work in a cartoon(just as much as some things only work in a book or a video game)
And before I start to talk about some topics that I judge important, I also wanna say that the production is fantastic, from the costumes to the CGI. It all looks amazing. (A part from Yue's wig)
1. The Script
It's not easy to pick 20+ episodes and make it fit in only 8 but damn they did a hell of a good job, especially when judging what was important to show and what they could let it go. Some fans commented that since there's no fillers, the Gaang and others miss some development but I think that for the universe of the live action what we got here it worked.
I can express how much I like to see Ozai and Azula's relationship and how it is now clear that he uses the siblings against each other, manipulating them to get what he wants. But I will admit I miss the fear Azula had, since it's implied in the show and some extras that she does fear Ozai, and fears becoming like Zuko.
I hope the 41. Is just fine after the battle in the north. See all of them bowing to Zuko after discovering that Zuko was the one that saved their asses and was heavily punished by that...it was beautiful. I loved the writers did that, give names and faces to Zuko's crew and a beautiful yet sad arc when Ozai banished his son and the men who he saved.
I also loved that they put weight into things that was treated as a joke, like Katara talking about her mother. She was a little kid who saw her mom get murdered in front of her and the live action made sure to let us know that it is not okay to make jokes about something so traumatic. All of the deaths here have tons of weight in it, it's not some random person, is someone we met, someone we liked, someone who helped. The costs of the war, something the cartoon manages to show us but know in live action, with real people, the massage gets stronger.
And they didn't forget Iroh's past like the fandom does, which is great. That actor, the earthbending soldier really let it all out, that's how you use the few screentime you have.
Sokka's isn't sexist and y'all were making a storm outta a cup of water, is not like Sokka sexist didn't go away after like the 4 or 5 episode in the original show. I think the live action was able to bring more depth to him in comparison to the first season of the cartoon. We see how he feels about his father's, the absence of him and his duty as warrior who kinda doesn't want to be a warrior.
I need a Gyatso in my life, I didn't know I needed to see more of him until the live action gave us more of him. Kyoshi was the Thor coming to Wakanda from this season, WHY THE FUCK BRYKE DONT WANNA GIVE US A KYOSHI SERIES? She is absolutely a jewel of a character. Roku and Kuruk, damn poor Kuruk man, so much pain in his words but again that's what it means to be the Avatar, it's not fun and games. Zhao saying to Aang what Korra villains said to Korrađ that the world doesn't need the Avatar anymore, it hurt.
Guys I'm gonna say it, there's no way in hell for anyone to ship Kataang here. I'm saying this because some shippers complain that the secret tunnel part was different but c'mon, look at Kiawentiio and look at Gordon, it would be so s awkward and weird and just wrong. I know they don't have a big age difference, is only like 3 years but when they filmed Gordon looked so much younger than her, maybe in the next seasons the difference won't be that big.
The pace is good, once you start you don't wanna stop.
2. The Acting
Everyone is really good at capturing the essence of it's characters and somewhat making them their own. The highlights for me were Dallas and Ian, Its like they came straight from the show. Ken Leung's Zhao was also amazing as he was way more threatening here than he was in the show.
Kiawentiio was the Katara we were looking for, she is kind yet strong, brave and caring. And Gordon was Aang, sure, he has to learn a few things since he slipped a few times in his acting but nothing that could ruin the experience, that kid is good and just needs some experience.
Elizabeth Yu was Azula. It was different but yet the same character, is like learning something new of her and I like how cleared she show emotions with her eyes. Maria Zhang had great chemistry with Ian and I can't wait to see more of Suki. Arden Cho and Yvonne Chapman as June and Avatar Kyoshi look like they came out straight from the cartoon. Daniel Dae Kim...man is Ozai, so cold, so sharp, so scary, already way better than the cartoon version. I wanna see more of Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Iroh since the character he really starts to shine in book 2.
3. The live action doesn't have the spirit of the OG?
Yes, it does have. The thing is now that we are seeing real people, things get dark one way or another but I don't think it ruined the spirit of the show. Aang is still a kid, Sokka still making sarcastic jokes, Zuko still annoying as hell, Katara still hopeful and strong... There's everything there really.
The thing is stuff like genocide, murder, war, death and suffering are, for some people, better to watch as pixels in a cartoon than real people.
I think it's a great adaptation and I would recommend it to every fan.

-What's that? -said the one next to her. You're kidding me, they must be in their 40's and have no idea what i just told them.
-Are you going to take it or not? -they looked at each other, causing me to take a breath and pick up my mental count and avoid exploding.
-Are you sure there isn't another color?
I could swear my eye twitched the moment I got up from my chair, which caused the others in the room to turn their gazes towards me.
-HeyâŚwhy don't we go outside, okay? -Maria approached me and pulled me out, preventing something worse from breaking out.
-Sorry, but i couldn't stand those two assholes anymore âI explained, putting my hand on my belly as I suddenly felt a cramp, making it obvious what was happening to me. I hated it when my period came. She put my hand on my lower back for support.
-Why didn't you tell me and stay home? I know it sucks when it happens, honey.
I nodded slightly, not ignoring the truth, although deep down I wanted to keep my job at Jackson.
-Does Joel know?
-No, no. I didn't want to worry him, he had the patrol with Tommy and if I told him he'd probably chain me to the bed and not let me out.
-As if you don't like it when he do that âshe said, raising her eyebrow, provoking a laugh from both of them.
-Don't make me laugh, I feel like I'm going to fall over.
-Speaking of Rome âshe nodded his head at the entrance.
Getting off his horse and cleaning his shotgun, he was wearing a T-shirt that clung to his body due to the heat of the incipient summer that was already approaching, along with pants that molded his strong legs. Even if they had shouted that they were attacking us this damn moment, I couldn't take my eyes off him.
-All mine...âMaria laughed softly when she saw my expression.
-You're so horny, girl âwalking over to the Millers, but not before approaching Joel, who quickly raised his gaze to me. He walked away from them, and in big strides was already lifting me up in his arms.
-Joel...
-Why didn't you tell me, baby? âHe locked his beautiful brown eyes in mine.
-I love you... very, very much âI smiled innocently.
-That's not going to work, pretty girl.
-I'm sorry, daddy âI whispered the latter in his ear and kissed his lobe, getting a growl from him and a little giggle from me.
We walked through the front door, where he deposited me on the living room couch and then kissed my forehead and went upstairs to prepare the bathtub, since the book I had read and under Mary's advice, the hot water helped the cramps in my belly.
Just for one second imagine for a minute this man with glasses on reading a manual about the female period. When I thought Joel couldn't be more attentive and gentle, I caught him in that situation.
-Hi, Paris âEllie walk inside and set his backpack aside.
-Hi,cutie, how was school?
-I hate fractions, seriously, why the fuck do I want to know how to divide a cake, I just split it and that's it.
-First of all, language. Second, it's important that you know it, even if you don't believe it, it's useful for everyday life.
-Like what? -He frowned and I opened my mouth to answer, but no word could come out of my lexicon.
-You're right, they're not good for shit âI answered with a laugh from her.-Well, I'm going upstairsâŚ
-ÂĄParis, your skirt! -she suddenly exclaimed. I turned my head to literally see the fabric covering my ass with a small red stain.
-ÂĄLa puta madre! ÂĄShit, i love this skirt! it's my favorite, i was going to wear this for your presentation.
-We can wash it, Maria must have something or some weird substance to fix it.
My eyes glazed over at how worried she was about me. Just like her father. I wrapped my arms around her body, to which she reacted in kind. On the outside many times Ellie appeared to be a tough and somewhat coarse girl, but it was only because of the constant struggle she had gone through for the longest and shortest part of her life. She's just a kid.
-I know how bad it is when it happens to you, and you don't deserve it âshe said with her face in my chest, her voice distressed.
-Relax, I'm fine âI whispered, stroking her hair âI couldn't be better, I have my family and that's all I need.
-Being a woman sucks, I wish I was half as brave as you âshe looked up at me, to which I laughed to hug her tighter as I quickly denied.
-I don't agree, Âżyou know why? Because we are intelligent, fearful, brave. You faced unimaginable things, Ellie, and every time you came out of it, you got stronger.
-Sheâs right.
We both turned around when we heard him. He walked towards us and wrapped us in his arms to lift us off the ground laughing in unison.
-Let go of me, I have to go, old man âshe pulled out of his grip to run away.
-So...we have about, what, Âż2 hours for Ellie's play? âI frowned uncomprehendingly, to which he once again pulled me back to my feet âI brought chocolate almonds, just the way you like it.
Damn crazy hormones. Tears began to fall down my cheeks as if a waterfall was flowing down my face. He tried to calm me down but I put my hand on his lips, silencing him.
-Joel, please, you don't want to take me like that after you see me from behind âI said embarrased.
-You have nothing to be ashamed of, sweetheart. Actually, I like the way you looked at me when I came in from the raid âI opened my mouth wide.-You made me feel attractive âhe said softly, to which I immediately brought our lips together.
God, I'd been holding back since this morning, points for holding back.
-Joel Miller, did you ever look in the mirror? âI stroked his mustache and beard.-Because I can assure you that Jackson's women do.
-I don't care, darlin'. The only one who can bring me to my knees is you. And I should also say that I've seen you get looks from more than one idiot at the bar.
I sighed and kissed his cheek. We went into the bedroom, and he put me down on the bed to bend down and start taking off my shoes.
-You're mine âhe said kissing my thigh as he began to undress me, making me hold my breath. He wanted to etch into my skin that I belonged to him, now and always.

What are your thoughts on Tesla and Joey's "mother-son" relationship? Do you think Tesla truly sees and treats Joey as her own son? Or would it be hella awkward because Joey is one of Joyceâs clones? Would Tesla be a strict, overprotective, considerate or pampering ? Joey seems to be a polite and understanding boy, so ig his parents are doing a good job.
In APHO, we can see that both Joey and Tesla care for each other a lot. Also when you choose the âDrunkâ option, idk, itâs just kinda depressing⌠Sound like Tesla control her drinking problems and be happier for Joey.
Joachim and Eins, too, what do you think their relationship with Joey will be like? Maybe the two sometimes just quietly stare at Joey because he reminds them of Joyce?
Now that Joachim has gone to HSR, do you think Tesla will ever âhateâ Joachim for leaving her and Joey? I mean she was already really busy before, so busy that Joey could rarely see her, but at least Joachim was there to look after him. Now that he's gone, Tesla will have to raise Joey all by herself, and yk, raising a child is never easy. With Tesla's personality, I don't think she could really handle this.
(Sorry if i was asking too much, i just really love reading your post about them, pls never stopđđ)
Aw, thank you very much for all these questions and dialogue screenshots! â¤ď¸Â
Oh, Joey, Joey... We have so many questions for this precious boy yet know so little about him. Heâs so polite, kind, and remarkably brave for his young age, just like a certain someone. âIâm more Joyce than Joffreyâ he once said and, in every sense of these words, he was absolutely right. He's the most Joyce-like clone with the most Joyce-like mind that, in my opinion, doomed him to think, to act and to perceive the world around him and people in it the very same way Joyce did (He even developed the same passion for cosmos, pls).  Yes, as Joachim said, âheâll never become Joyce.â But the resemblance is still there and it's too painful. This is why I was confident that Joeyâs existence would be too much for AE to bear. They would have to constantly remind themselves that this is not Joyce nor he will ever be, they can't heal their wounds using this boy and force him to become like Joyce.  And the worst part is that Joey knows it? I thought that perhaps he doesnât understand fully the reason why everyone looks at him that way, why some things he unconsciously says or does make his mother or father or auntie Ein look at him with a poorly hidden sorrow in their eyes, but itâs the elephant in the room and one day he'll might as well want to become this hero everyone sees in him.Â
But... I was wrong? Thanks to that hasty chapter that gave no explanation on who this boy was and where he came from, it seemed as everyone were relatively fine with Joey around. Even Ein appeared to be okay which was...odd to me but never mind.Â
On the other hand, it was cute and heartwarming to see Tesla being so mature and caring with Joey. She always could get along with kids and teens pretty easily but with Joey she became surprisingly extra self-restrained and showed this lovely mother-ish side of hers. True, Tesla can be both strict and overprotective, and considerate AND pampering. But thatâs how she shows her love and sheâll do everything for those she loves (after grumbling for a while, of course). And! Tesla controlling her swearing and alcoholic habits is just whoa. That's some character development right there.Â
On top of everything, Tesla is very good in quickly adapting for even the most fucked up situations. So even though we donât know the exact story of how they came to this whole situation with Joey and even if it was awkward at first, I think at this point she just treats him as her son. Not as a clone, not as some Joyceâs copy, but as her precious little Joey. And I think Joeyâs appearance in her life is actually for the better. She needed someone whoâd care for her as immensely as sheâs willing to care for others.Â
With Joey, Tesla has become more mature, calm, and soft, with a hint of tiredness that comes from the old age. But omg not only she started to drink less and tries to tame her temper but that part where she told Joey that glasses are not cool even though she wore glasses to look cool-  As for Joachim and Ein⌠*sighs*. As Iâve said long time ago, these two are in the same depression boat when it comes to Joyce topic. And no matter how the story currently unfolds and will unfold in the future, I think these two have it hard with Joey. Let me be a sucker for angst here, please. But even in APHO it really felt like it wasnât easy for Joachim to talk about Joey. Heâs trying his best to see the boy as an independent individual but he canât help but be reminded of Joyce.Â
Joachimâs life, personality, his everything was heavily affected and shaped by Joyceâs legacy, then he went through traumatic era of killing Joyceâs clones and now he takes care of another clone. He canât be free from Joyceâs shadow looming over his life even after everything he went through. Itâs just so ironic that parenting Joey not only reminds him of Joyce but perhaps makes him miss his own father too. Still, Joachim tries his best to be a good father.
(But in my opinion, in his case Joey doesnât really brightens his life, unlike Teslaâs situation). And then thereâs Ein⌠*pat pat* your sanity will be missed, doctor (And here I thought her life canât be even more miserable). Before the ex chapter was released, I believed that Joeyâs presence would turn her life into a living nightmare. Itâs been hard for her to stop treating Joachim as a shadow of Welt and now the story wants me to believe that sheâs not bothered by a boy with Joyceâs hair, eyes, smile and character. Uh-huh...I know that the story loves to make her be controversial from time to time but not to this extent? (Or sheâs so fed up with life and reached a point of exhaustion where even something like this canât disturb her).
How could she accept him so easily? I canât believe it wouldnât be overwhelming for her to see this boy every day. Surely it would be too much, the story did a very dirty move. And while she may care for Joey, she canât draw the line between Joey and Welt the very same way she never drew the line between Joachim and Welt. Perhaps she would feel guilty and terrible for being like this and for her inability to love him properly. That's why Ein keeping her distance from Joey was the most obvious thing for me to expect. Yes, avoiding the boy or giving him the cold shoulder would confuse him, "why does auntie Ein hate me?â, he did nothing wrong after all, but Ein just wouldnât know how to treat him normally. However, the story says sheâs â¨fine⨠with it all.  Will Tesla ever âhateâ Joachim for leaving her and Joey...well yes, she canât bring herself to truly hate him nor she can stay indifferent. Most likely sheâll go through a cycle of denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance once again. At least she can take comfort in the fact that Joey is not a problematic child. Perhaps she will have break downs from the constant stress and make mistakes along the way, but I want to believe that sheâll manage just fine as long as no one around her offs themselves for the sake of heroic deeds after all, sheâs a strong lady and I hope sheâll become a great mother figure to Joey.
Unfortunately, we still have very little content on this topic and I hope to come back to this ramble one day. Thank you once again for these questions tho

Once again I'm here because I'm angry. There's been a lot of talk about Boston and what Jojo wanted or not to say about sluts and whatever. I, and other people I think, were struggling with the idea that Jojo would actually want that message out. So I went to see some interviews. And got kinda shocked about one thing that he said. (btw this is an actual quote.) He was talking about Boston reasons for his behaviour Jojo: Bad people don't need to have a backstory. They are just born sluts. A bad character doesn't need... (and then the interviewer says - he doesn't need tragedy to be bad) Exactly. And then he gets asked if he thinks Boston needs redemption and he emphatically says NO. And then talking about how much fun is writing the character he says this: Boston is such a fun character to write. yeah unpredictable he's like, he doesn't care. he doesn't have morals so we just like goes with the flow. bad people? no morals? humm... i don't know... So yeah, now I don't really know what to think about it. I was wondering what are your thoughts about this. I'm still gonna watch some more of this, because I'm a masochist that needs all the information, but yeah, I thought I would share. Thanks for the space
Yiiiiiikes. Okay, first let me preface this by saying that whenever I am reading/watching something that was either translated to English or spoken in English by a person with a different first language, I try not to get too hung up on specific word choice. By necessity we tend to go for the simplest possible words to convey meaning in those situations, and thus a lot of nuance gets stripped out.
That said, the sentiment is clear: Jojo saw Boston as a villain character without a moral code that he could deploy to cause chaos wherever he liked in the story. And he is definitely conflating his villainy with sexual promiscuity, which is the worst part of this quote and unfortunately aligns with the way that finale, and ultimately the themes of the show, were written. It definitely makes me side eye Jojo and as Iâve already said, I wonât be so inclined to trust him nearly as much next time.
Only Friends, however, has more than one writer, and I donât think they all see it this way. If you think Boston is purely an irredeemable slut, you donât write his breakup and reunion with Nick in the way that this show did. You donât give depth to his situation with Atom. You donât show his sincere emotion, his hurt, and his earnest desire to be with Nick while he can. With all the info we have now and in retrospect, it kind of feels like there was a bit of a tug-o-war going on with Bostonâs story.
My understanding is that Den Panuwat, one of three writers on the show, is the one who adapted the novel version of the story, and there he changed Bostonâs final arc significantly. Rather than Boston fucking Atom, he made his final conflict about his dadâs political career with Bostonâs sexuality being used as a weapon against him. He wrote Boston and Nick ending on good terms. And he wrote a final chapter for Boston where he arrives in New York, finds a more accepting society and queer community who accept and understand him, and thrives.
Iâm sure there were some non-artistic reasons why we couldnât get this version of the story in the show (the politics story was likely vetoed for censorship reasons and they probably couldnât afford to show us Boston in NY, for example), but the fact that Den wrote it signals that his perspective on Boston is not fully aligned with what Jojo said in that quote above. Perhaps we have him to thank for the empathetic portrayal and humanity we did see in Boston despite Jojoâs perspective on him. And Den has another show coming soon, so maybe weâll see a clearer read of his own perspective on queer sexual politics without the GMMTV restrictions when we watch Playboyy.

Please tell me youâre not a gaiman fan because it seems like you have issues with him and goddd me too
Okay this is a complicated question to answer and has got both more and less so in the last couple of weeks. Since there's still information coming out about the sexual assault allegations, I don't want to say too much now and then have to backtrack hugely, but even the very best case scenario makes his behaviour scummy as all hell. And I don't believe it will turn out to have been the best case scenario. So we'll just bundle the whole thing up with "yikes" and move on to things I've had a long enough time to think about and put proper thoughts around.
A month ago I'd have said that he seems like a decent bloke, but seems to have real trouble understanding experiences he can't relate to. The foreword to his short story collection Trigger Warning is a great example of this. He spent a while wittering on about his misgivings about trigger warnings as a concept, then remembered he knew someone with a severe phobia of tentacles and conceded that they had their place. He then proceeded to give a very dumb non-warning which completely failed to mention how something like one in three of the collected stories involved sexual violence. Great job Neil.
I already mentioned in the tags of that previous post my issues with his obvious lies to TV Omens fans who don't know any better. It's just annoying and stupid to lie about something that unimportant, unless it was actually an attempt to get disillusioned Book Omens fans back on side (in which case, wow that failed spectacularly).
And now I realise that everything else is about specific works of his, so I've stuck it under a cut if you don't want to see me bitch about Good Omens adaptational changes changes for the umpteenth time or go on a short heartfelt ramble about what was almost a perfectly crafted short story.
I'll be blunt, I only saw S1 of Good Omens, and while I enjoyed it, it was an incompetent adaptation. The fucking radio play managed to tell the same story with greater faithfulness and more elegance without a 3rd person narrator (and had the brilliant idea of having the opening and closing credits performed by Agnes Nutter's voice actress). Compare and contrast the show making God the 3rd person narrator and exposition dump, and how that changes the whole story from a humanist tale where people are all people and whose choices matter, where God's grand plan night not even exist, to a story where everything implicitly or explicitly is going to God's plan under God's watchful eye.
And I will never comprehend how Gaiman successfully argued to have a whole set built to film Agnes Nutter's death, but then said that for practical reasons they couldn't have Crowley revive the dove. The angel accidentally killed a dove and the demon intentionally revived it! It's so thematically important! Neil why are you like this? Do you understand your own works or was Pterry the only one of you who put actual thought into things' meanings?! HOW DO YOU FUCK THIS UP NEIL? I UNDERSTOOD ITS IMPORTANCE WHEN I WAS 15 NEIL!
Ahem. Moving on.
Neverwhere is the most recent Gaiman book I've read and it's a good showcase of all the issues I have with his writing. The protagonists are dragged along by the plot, they're Special TM by birth or fate, not by the choices they make. The world they inhabit is wonderful, detailed, and vibrant, but I found that far more interesting than the protagonists inhabiting it. We got a random rape backstory for a girl whose main role was to die so the male protagonist feels bad. The way Gaiman described every female character bar one in terms of their attractiveness made me unsure if it was him or the protagonist who was weird about women (although I guess I have the answer to that now). Funny how Gaiman didn't shy away from things and people smelling bad right up until a hot woman who had been fighting, running, and falling over in a swamp apparently smelled not of sweat and stagnant water, but "musk". Really normal, that. There were wonderful descriptions and great moments, but after that first SA moment I couldn't relax and enjoy the ride because I was always on edge waiting for the next time Neil felt the need to be Like That.
Then there's my beloved, hated The Truth is a Cave in the Black Mountains. It's almost the perfect neat fairy-fable where every little detail is paid off later. It's a story of grief and vengeance and greed. It's about the price of fairy magic. And it has a pointless scene stuck in of marital rape. It has no purpose. It does nothing for the pacing or themes or characters. It never comes up again. I hate it.
Stuff can be horny or harrowing or both, I don't care, but Gaiman just drops SA into things for no clear reason as a generic Bad Thing Happen, Make Tone Dark. It's distasteful and inelegant. It cheapens the rest of the writing by its presence.
The simple truth is that Neil Gaiman seems to have a near pathological urge to shove sexual violence into places it has no need or right to be. It's disgusting but sadly not shocking that this apparently includes his personal life.
#asks#gaiman can write great scenes and worlds. there are just a lot of things he can't do and need to be prevented from doing#sadly no one has prevented him from doing them

OKAY! I HAVE SUCCUMBED TO THE VOICES OF MY LATEST HYPERFIXATION: LEGO MONKEY KID! UNTIL I SATISFY THEM I WON'T BE ABLE TO WORK ON ANY REQUEST! Get ready for the most absurd rants you've ever heard about Jttw, lmk AND EPIC THE MUSICAL! YOU ARE WARNED!
I find it somewhat funny how the vast majority of adaptations of Sun Wukong leave out that the Monkey King HAD A WIFE. a fucking wife that he KIDNAPPED AND FORCED TO BECOME HIS BRIDE.
She literally appears singing about this :'D before Nezha and his father rescue her.
and while I was learning about this, I couldn't help but think about the songs from Calypso, from Epic: the Musical (another recent hyperfixation) and in some way relate it to Monkey Kid.
after all, LMK's Wukong knows that the things he did when he was young were QUESTIONABLE to say the least (he literally said it) and that he regrets many things, and I wondered what his dynamic would have been like in that case with Jiaozi (his "wife ").
and that is precisely why I relate it to Love in Paradise in a certain way.
Like, we know that this Wukong definitely had good intentions, which were initially driven by good reasons, but which became more and more selfish, so here perhaps he could have brought Jiaozi to Flower Fruit Mountain as a direct response to 1- monkey logic + 2- after his trip to the west he needed a way to deal with loneliness and 3- demonic courtship is WILD.
Anyway, I can see this more (ONLY IN LMK) as a response to mourning and handling loss (the Brotherhood? Macaque? is up to your interpretation) and that he really doesn't know how to manage/communicate his emotions in a healthy way.
Imagine being Jiaozi, being taken from your comfortable princess life overnight, waking up in the MIDDLE OF NOWHERE with a monkey man who is too... friendly to be a kidnapper?
Like, lmk's Wukong acts just like Calypso, with a lot of familiarity, his normal confident post-trip to the West self, explains the situation to Jiaozi (but in a much friendlier way than it really is) and she's like "uh HELL NO" but there really isn't much to do against the literal Monkey King, THE SAGE, THE EQUAL TO HEAVEN, and poor Jiaozi is having a full-blown crisis while Wukong doesn't understand why she's so distraught, don't she understand him? They have everything they want and need in the mountains!
Ironically other texts also described Wukong as a "spoiling husband who gave a lot of clothes/food/things to his wife" and that was probably the route he took after the beginning, Wukong has a lot of trash, but he was more than willing to share with Jiaozi as long as she was happy, that she wanted him back...love him Back.
He JUST doesn't understand the seriousness of the matter that KIDNAPPING YOUR SPOUSE REALLY IS...until Nezha and His Father come along.
Now, I don't think Wukong is stupid even before that happens, he would see Jiaozi's clear anguish, her sadness, the desire to return to her old life with her family, and although he consoles her and such, he is having a crisis, This is supposed to be normal, right? So why does he feel so bad when he sees her so distressed?
The glass fills slowly but surely.
I don't think he was a bad husband Per se, like I said, he was very pampering and such (maybe even Jiaozi sees him in a certain positive light, even if not as a husband, because of his good deeds of the past), but he had a big problem with taking things too lightly and not dealing adequately with his emotions.
so when he receives the ultimatum from Nezha and company, he has a very Im not Sorry for Loving You moment.
in which he does just that, he explains to Jiaozi that he let her go with Nezha, that he regrets having made her go through all this just out of selfish fear, and he very much regrets not regretting loving her even so (many years of being alone screwed him up a little head, so this type of interaction definitely marked his isolation even more in the future).
Even if in lmk Jiaozi doesn't keep track of him or anything like that, she makes it clear to him that she couldn't love him the way he wants her to love him. and it hurts, but it hurts good. because he learns from it.
(PS, it would be quite ironical if this Jiaozi marry Nezha of all people lol)
waaaaaaa I just love finding parallels between my hyperfixations, I will soon publish another one, but it will be much fluffier and from this same fandom.
(the songs that give the idea)
Shares, reblogs and comments are very welcome!

talking about some CPTSD trauma therapy stuff in case someone might find it useful again.
so two or three sessions ago we reached an impasse where within my weird fractured and compartmentalized areas of my personality we identified what i can only describe as the concentrated echo chamber of every kind of verbal abuse and shame i endured as a kid. the part of me that is screaming at myself to run faster, work harder, and prove that i am good enough to deserve... anything? love? happiness?
brainspotting as a technique continues to feel like i am being hypnotized by a wizard, because it was the first time i felt capable of standing up to that facet and telling it to shut the fuck up while still accepting it is a part of me i can't extracate myself from. it's just not allowed to drive the car anymore.
but in the wake of finally successfully getting myself to stop angrily berating myself to work harder, go to the gym, eat right, look perfect, act perfect...
i am reckoning with how much this was the only impulse still motivating my broken ego to do anything anymore. there's just this void of purpose left that was only being mitigated by raw, ugly, petulant anger at the world for treating me like a stupid little faggot runt for most of my existence.
but there's an interesting feeling i need to articulate in the morning, when i am lying under my weighted blanket unable to find enough will to move.
my only thought is that i want things to be quiet, dark and warm. i don't want the room to be cold. i don't want to be alone. i don't want to be dead.
i just want to lie here for a bit.
it's frustrating. i am very frustrated by it. i want to do things again, i want to have a life i can be proud of. i want to stop experiencing the kind of literary psychosis that makes you consider crawling into the wallpaper.
but i am not angry about it anymore. i have stopped repeating a lot of those awful things to myself. i have stopped acting like it's a personal failure that i need to atone for. that voice is not gone, but it is at worst an echo down the hallway.
i can clearly understand that i have been injured, grievously. my brain has fallen down multiple flights of stairs trying to adapt to this world.
so there's just a big empty room in my head now. and i guess the next step is to fill it.
i'm not actually sure why i'm sharing this, but it felt important to try and articulate it publicly as i round another corner of this work. people openly talking about their journeys with this work saved my life, if i'm being honest.
okay, that's it. back to bed.
perhaps my bastard son orson will visit his father while he is bedridden.

Isagi being an asshole and putting those insane guys in their places is like one of the best things abt his caracter lmao hes a jerk to anyone that seems even more of a jerk than he could ever be
Dude I'm fucking saying!!!!
Like I said, when Isagi walks up to Hiori unprompted and is a total dick then yeah point made, but up until now every asshole moment has just been returned from previous bouts he's had with said character who was being a dick first. Yukimiya prime example, I seriously did not like him for the first three quarters of this arc lol. But he and Isagi worked it out and also? Isagi threw him compliments specifically for being assertive and going for his own goal leaving Isagi in the dust. Come on.
Loki?? You can't just insult an entire country's worth and expect nobody to say shit back to you. Isagi should have drop kicked him on live TV. He went easy on him.
Noa--we'll see the repercussions on this. There may be some issues or maybe since Isagi proved Noa wrong there may not be. Idk. Though I struggle to say a 17 year old can be an asshole to a grown ass man, more like a mouthy brat LOL. I don't think Noa is a good guy, in fact I'm fairly convinced that he is very much not. By good guy I mean "good guy" in terms of his role in the story. Like is he someone we should trust and be content with or be weary of, I very much feel the latter. Noa and Loki are god awful coaches/mentors and the way they're drawn kind of hints at that. Someone should tell them off anyway. But we'll see what the consequence of doing that is LOL. But again! Not entirely unjustified, even Kaiser told Noa he's really shitty (and he is).
Isagi getting mad at Kunigami was not something that lasted long. Kunigami was ALSO sabotaging Isagi at times...lol. Isagi telling him to enjoy his scraps didn't come from nowhere, Kunigami has changed and his story is about to tell us why. But later Isagi told him they'll eat steak together again (meaning he believes in him!) and called him a hero a chapter ago. I think they'll be fine. Also not example of Isagi being a POS.
Isagi is excused from literally anything he does to Kaiser and Rin. I'm sorry but anything he does is justified. He could slash their tires and I'd say yeah that's fine. If he pulled out a gun I'd say okay go for it LOL/j. This one is the most baffling to me because we KNOW as an audience that Rin and Kaiser are taking their problems out on Isagi, we literally KNOW THIS so why is Isagi the one catching heat in this arc. What's ironic is that they're targeting him because they think so highly of him. But he doesn't know this, all he's seeing is Rin and Kaiser having melt downs on the field (second time for Rin lmao..) and seeing them get up in HIS FACE SPECIFICALLY nonstop, his own teammate constantly sabotaging him, Rin being nuts (picking him up by the scruff of his neck lmao...what a freak), and both of them just being generally weird about him. From an outside POV this has to look fucking crazy. I actually think it'd be very WEIRD if Isagi was stagnant and not written to have any sort of reaction to all of this?? Like yeah he should probably adapt so he doesn't get swallowed up and defeated big time. I'm wondering what people wanted here because it'd be odd and out of place for him to just not shift his behavior at all during this arc. It would also be boring.
I really think shounen protags that are not Naruto/Deku-esque scare people or something. I believe there is a spectrum in Blue Lock between being completely individualist (self-serving your own ego at all costs) and being too collective (not asserting yourself, fading into the background) and the goal of blue lock is finding the happy medium along that spectrum. Isagi used to fade into the background. He doesn't anymore, and he didn't have to act like Kaiser to make his way to the top. Kaiser is the opposite end of the spectrum and look how that turned out. Everyone's stories kind of follow this pattern too, esp with all the mini arcs about fighting codependency and getting rid of fixating on people and relying on people to make you happy (Bachira, Rin, Isagi, Nagi, Reo). Isagi has had some moments where he went too far to the individualist end, but he stays in the middle and that's why everyone around him is saying he's inspired them to keep going.
Also....these isolated incidents of "asshole" are like....very very spread out throughout this arc. They are so spread out that it feels silly to say this is a consistent CHANGE to his overall personality. If they all started happening in the PXG match then it'd be something to ponder but they all 1) happened at different times, spread out from each other showing this comes with an antecedent 2) all happened as a result of someone else being a dick first and 3) did not last long and all characters moved on from it rather quickly, and nobody made excessive comments or worried about it.
When the entire surrounding cast starts commenting on how he's a dick I'll start to believe it, but I'm seeing the opposite right now??

Hi! I was wondering do you know why Loumand is so hated ? Was it like that for books readers too? I'm in the middle of the 1st book but i do like their fucked up dynamic on the show and if you ask me, i do think there is love between them.
It's funny because when I started following the fandom everyone was saying how vampires are poly and how we'll have to adapt to this fact now that i'm finally adapting my view, i keep reading ''Louis and Armand don't love each other'' etc.. people call us delusional... sometimes i feel like the only accepted poly is Lestat? I love all their dynamics, give me anything, i'm just here to see characters doing unhinged things that's what attracted me to the show, but sometimes i feel like people just want conventional stories despite what they are saying.
... well.
Okay, so, I'm not too hot on them either. I'll try to explain (and please do read until the end^^) Because while there's certainly love between them (and I have always maintained that!!) - there's also the "problem" that Armand initially becomes interested in Louis... because he is Lestat's. He engages Louis after Lestat has told him about Louis, tries to keep them (Louis and Claudia) save.
Armand... manipulates Louis, and canonically influences him to turn Madeleine, spell-binds him, lies to him, puts a "veil" onto him.
The show, very early on, hinted at the darker aspects of Loumand with the posters, and their reference to the movie "Gaslight".
Armand... Armand has baggage. And luckily(!) he falls for Louis. From his side it's definitely not a lie that he loves Louis. Louis... Louis is certainly infatuated. I do think he loves Armand. But... not like that. Both show and books make that quite clear, and their later canon time together is a very sedated safe time at Trinity Gate.
Armand later tells in his own book that in Paris:
"I must have Louis, that was my injunction. I knew no other."
He must have Louis.
Armand... is someone who does things as he sees fit, even if others disagree. Hunting the young vampires down, for example, even in modern times, wherever he is. Lestat is later very loathe to do that, but Armand keeps wherever he is "clean". The ever multiplying vampire population is for example why Louis goes to Armand at Trinity Gate for the first place - to be safe. But that just as a note.
So... I think it's... complicated. :)
It should go without saying(!) that you can enjoy them as you wish^^.
I think... I think a lot of people are very unprepared to watch a show like this (with characters like these), because we rarely get to see something like this! Like, all these relationships are toxic!! All of them are flawed. There is no good or bad vampire. They're all manipulative, toxic serial killers. They all abuse, and are abused. Yes, even Louis. :))
Fandoms... sometimes tend to be very polemic. This fandom has had the added complexity of the racial recasts, a setup as a tale and a show that has put its fingers into wounds... and then not only split the first season in half, but was also delayed by strikes. Some things... festered.
BUT. That should not stop you from enjoying what you enjoy?! I can only recommend curating your dash^^, and enjoy them.
It's a wild dynamic after all, and while I personally did not think they would go so dark for them I do see the appeal of diving into this dynamic :)
So - look for those who enjoy them as well, and... forget the rest?^^

Oh my God fauxteurs never change. Years pass, video games explode in popularity as a medium, and yet, somehow, their underlying attitude of "We don't need to play the games because we're Making Art(tm)" still remains. Why are they like this in the year of our Lord 2025???
Worse, why do people keep letting them get away with it? Wouldn't you be embarrassed to publicly announce "Yeah, I never went back to check with the source material, my own memory (which is faultless, even when I'm stressed out from deadlines and there are now more ways of playing video games than ever) is good enough substitute, w/e"?
That interview you just posted is giving me flashbacks to Ben Hurst and co's. excuses for why they changed so much of the source material for their show. Apparently anyone creating for this series who is over the age of 40 is physiologically incapable of borrowing their kids' game console for one afternoon. It's the only explanation that makes sense.
How long does it take a newbie to play through Sonic 1? A couple hours? A day? A week, maybe? Even if they were completely bad at the game and couldn't beat it in time, couldn't they have just watched a Let's Play on their lunch break or something?
The fact that they took this approach to their SA2-inspired film as well is an extra slap in the face because SA2 is already misremembered and misinterpreted enough as it is. Stuff like this just gives people the impression that SA2 isn't a worthy game on its own merits; that it's only good for hollow vibes and fanservice. Lo and behold, guess what happened to the third film!
"What did we already remember moreso than going back and playing?"
You know that saying about how you could accomplish more if you spent the same amount of time just doing the thing as you did thinking about doing the thing? This is what this stuff reminds me of. Fauxteurs wouldn't need to hem and haw about remembering the game in perfect detail if they just actually sat down and played the goddamn game for an afternoon.
Jesus Christ Almighty, it's like Patrick and the lid. Play the game, Patrick. No, the game. The game, Patrick. Play the game you're adapting.
(...I'm also getting flashbacks to Bloober Team's head guy saying they would rely on their "perfect memory" of the game in order to make the SH2 remake. girl help)
It is absolutely insane how people have zero respect for Sonic as a franchise, and video games as a medium as a whole, that they'll defend the writers admitting that or even say that it was a good thing. I JUST GOT A FUCKING REPLY ON THAT POST FROM SOME SNOT NOSED LITTLE SHITHEAD PULLING THE "OH SO YOU WANT THE MOVIES TO BE ONE TO ONE WITH THE GAMES???" LINE ON ME BEFORE YOU SENT THIS. People LEGITIMATELY just HATE Sonic and that is why they think this shit is okay, or even laudable.
I say it again: IMAGINE the writers of a movie adapting a book said that shit. But because it's a movie based on a video game, it's fine. Because who even cares it's just a stupid video game anyway.
It makes me so legitimately angry not because they did it, not because they admitted it, but because the comment section is INUNDATED with people defending them or even praising them for it. That COMPLETELY FUCKING IGNORING THE VIDEO GAMES is a GOOD thing when making an adaptation of a video game.
Nobody would EVER say the shit they're saying about this movie is it was, like, a new Harry Potter movie or some shit. Imagine someone making a live action film out of Berserk and them saying "yeah I never read the manga, I'm just making this movie based off Vibes." It absolutely boggles the fucking mind that people think this shit is acceptable just because it's a video game.
And yeah that's the thing that always gets me. People always say something like that. "Oh I'm just going based off my memories. From what I can remember, this is what happened. If I recall correctly. Ect ect."
And I'm like that Louis CK skit about Pig Newtons.
youtube
I'M NOT EVEN USING MY MEMORY. I'M LOOKING AT THE FUCKING CUTSCENE. IT'S ON FUCKING YOUTUBE. FOR FREE. WHAT THE FUCK IS THE MATTER WITH YOU???
Writing a fucking adaptation of Sonic Adventure 2 should be the easiest fucking job on the fucking PLANET. You can literally just look up the fucking game script online, copy and paste it into your word doc, slap it into your email and send it to the studio. JOB DONE, COLLECT YOUR PAYCHECK. The story ALREADY FUCKING EXISTS. Why do you even NEED to try and remember ANYTHING? Memory should not be a fucking factor the story was ALREADY FUCKING WRITTEN.
But naw. It's just Sonic. Who cares. What, do you expect the movies to be one to one with the video games or something? That'd be boring and dumb and you're stupid and an inferior sub human life form for wanting that. Shut up and eat your slop.
