Like come onnnn the punkintyre feud was amazing because of how well it was executed. Did it have flaws? Sure. But what I loved most about it was the progression you could see in both characters as it went on. Punk was already vengeful because of what Drew did to him but we saw him escalate further into that vengeful rage to the point of nearly killing Drew, and saying he didn’t even want to expose his wife to that side of himself so he wasn’t staying at his own home. Acted like he was better and high and mighty over Drew but constantly falling for Drew’s petty baiting. Sinking to new lows thanks to hate. And calling himself both god and the devil? Iconic. A petty, egotistical man dialed up to 100 with a thirst for blood.

And we got to see Drew who was already a bitter and angry man devolve further into that until he pushed away all his friends and became utterly obsessed with his own revenge against Punk. We saw his savior complex come out and take a dark turn when he told the audience he forgave us for cheering for Punk bc we didn’t know what we were doing and that he’d saved us all once and he’d do it again when he beat Punk. We saw him turn into this psycho homoerotic stalker who stole his enemy’s bracelet and stored it in his trunks and kissed it over and over. He was once the face of the company. The savior of wrestlemania and the Covid era of wwe. Now turned into this raging beast who saw no sense and only hate and knew only death could end it.

Now THAT’s good writing!! There is nothing more engaging and compelling than character growth, whether it’s good or bad. This feud had everything and I understand that by Bad Blood, the stakes were so high it naturally had to end there. I’m so glad I got to see that go down and enjoy it with you fine folk but like I said before it really spoiled me for all the other current feuds.
