Your Guide to Kimi Wa Yukima Ni Koinegau a.k.a. Kimiyuki (Part 1)
Tumblr media
Kimi Wa Yukima Ni Koinegau is an upcoming otome game by Otomate and Watanabe Entertainment. I don’t know what’s gotten into me but I decided to translate some information provided in the website. May post another update soon!
Storyline
The first year of the Kyoho era, when Yoshimune Tokugawa ruled over Edo as the eighth shogun.
Strange occurrences involving monsters were becoming more and more frequent in Edo, causing the townspeople to grow anxious and discontent. In order to maintain the public order, the Tokugawa shogunate established an organization called "Oniwaban" to crack down on the monsters.
The seasons changed, and eleven years have passed since then.
In a village far from Edo, there lived a girl who possesses special power. Wherever she sees a "black thread," disaster is sure to follow in that place. The villagers, creeped out, chase her away to the snow-covered depths of the mountains.
Then, a man who calls himself a part of the "Oniwaban" appears before her…
This is a story of the encounter between a single girl and "non-humans", and getting to know love.
World
Edo : A city established by the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate, Ieyasu Tokugawa. It was divided into three districts that were built around the Tokugawa clan's castle, "Chiyoda Castle".
Tumblr media
Buke : A district that is the center of politics and samurai. Feudal lords' residence and buildings owned by samurai can often be found in this section. Since there are no shops around, and not all people can enter this place, it is mostly quiet.
Tumblr media
Zyouka : A district that is the center of trading and common folks. Merchant houses and stores owned by common people are clustered in this area. Since this place has the most number of people, it is a very lively district.
Tumblr media
Goraku: A bustling district that is the center of art, a place filled with theaters, red-light districts and gambling houses. Due to how bustling it is, this place has looser rules compared to other districts. Fights also often occur here.
Before moving on to the characters, here's some note:
Kiko: An existence created by the shogunate's personal exorcist to subjugate Yoika, a being that brings calamity in the evening.
Characters
Suzuno (Name is changeable) CV: None
Tumblr media
One who calls upon calamity "Why me? I'm simply a country girl, not someone who could be approached by a samurai…"
The protagonist of this story, a descendant of the Hakuseki clan. Due to her ability to see the "thread of emotion" that no one else can see, she is feared and called a monster by the villagers. She is chased away to the snow-covered recess of the mountains. Despite being a careless person, she is optimistic and kind-hearted.
Takamura Tomonari CV: Kobayashi Yusuke
Tumblr media
The quiet and faithful one "I don't know about the others Kiko, but… I just do what I want to do."
The person who comes to pick up the protagonist, a new Kiko who joined the Oniwaban about a year ago. While having a calm personality, he is seen as a cold person due to his tendency to keep distance from others. However, for some reason, he seems to feel something special only to the protagonist and treats her gently.
Toujou Kunitaka CV: Tomoaki Maeno
Tumblr media
The gentle and chivalrous one "Rest assured. If you come to our place, I'll assume responsibility and look after you."
Another Kiko who comes to pick up the protagonist. Friendly and good at taking care of others, he is also keeping an eye out on the protagonist as his new junior. While being in charge of the Buke district, he takes care of Tomonari as his senior. However, he is seen as an annoying person due to his excessive caring. Not only that, but he is also hated by his pet sparrow. His suffering and struggles never end.
Yoichi CV: Yamashita Seiichirou
Tumblr media
The lazy and blunt one "You don't have anything more to say, right? Get out, then. You're disturbing my break."
A Kiko who gathers information while running a liquor store called "Yanagiya" in the Zyouka district. Due to his lazy and moody personality, he always acts in a way where he can slack off. A blunt person who speaks his mind without mincing his words. Because of that, he showed a harsh attitude during his first meeting with the protagonist. A glutton who likes to eat excessive amounts of food.
Kuga Genjuurou CV: Satou Takuya
Tumblr media
The diligent and upright one "That power… Are you prepared to use it for the shogunate?"
A Kiko specialized in combat, in charge of the Zyouka district like Yoichi. Formally, his job is to guard and patrol around Edo as one of the security officials. Having a calm personality on top of being a hard worker, he is a serious person who looks after Yoichi as a part of his senior duties. He has a genuine interest in what kind of power the protagonist had.
Kinji CV: Namikawa Daisuke
Tumblr media
The beautiful and self-centered one "So what brings you here today? Did you come to be mocked again?"
A Kiko who collects information as a kabuki actor at a theater called "Kikusatoya" in the Goraku district. A selfish person with high self-esteem, enjoys teasing people to kill time. In contrast to his appearance, he is very strong and destroys things from time to time as a result of his inability to control his power. The most senior one among the Kikos.
Outaro CV: Saito Soma
Tumblr media
The lively one "Hahaha! You're an interesting fellow, huh, getting lost while chasing a pickpocket."
Formally, his job is to lure more customers to the Goraku district. But he's also a Kiko who collects information. Able to get along with anyone due to his bright and friendly nature. A dexterous person and is also quick on his feet. He likes interesting things and even though he tends to get easily carried away, he's good at making his way in life. He's also friendly with the protagonist.

Jealous on Main (Saiouma)
Jealous Shuichi request for Anon! I figured I’d post this before heading to bed, seeing as I finished it about an hour or so ago. I hope you like it and let me know if you would anything changed/edited! :D
Based off of the request below:
Tumblr media
Title: Jealous on Main
Summary: Shuichi has a crush on Kokichi, but feels like he doesn’t have a chance with him, so he watches the supreme leader from afar. However, the more he sees Kokichi interacting with a certain green-haired male, the more jealous he gets...
One-Shot Notes: This takes place in Prison Mode, where the students choose to coexist with each other for the rest of their lives rather than participate in the killing game; I may or may not have thrown in another one of my personal headcanons where Kokichi calls Shuichi “Shuu-chan” because he gets embarrassed easily whenever he says Shuichi
One-shot is under the cut!
Having a crush on someone like Kokichi Ouma was quite the experience, Shuichi realized.
The supreme leader was a total enigma, making sure that he kept his heavy facade up at all times as he spun his web of lies and caused mayhem among the rest of the students at the Academy of Gifted Juveniles.
Even so, Shuichi found himself falling for him.
It was those rare moments where he would let himself be vulnerable around him and those genuine smiles and laughs that came up once in a blue moon that had Shuichi utterly head over heels for him.
But, it didn’t seem like the supreme leader felt the same way. Sure, he would casually call him his “beloved Saihara-chan” and say that he’s fallen for him, but he would always say that it was a lie in the end. Not only that, he was quite chummy with some of the other classmates, particularly Rantaro.
With how close Kokichi was with Rantaro, Shuichi felt like he had no chance with the supreme leader. So, he chose to watch him from afar.
He could deal with it. He could keep his emotions in check. He could make sure he doesn’t get too jealous whenever Kokichi hung out with Rantaro.
But, just how much could he take before it all blew up in his face?
💜💜💜💜
Everyone had decided to hang out in Kaede’s lab one day, playing board and card games while Kaede played on the piano.
“Aaaaaaaargh, this game sucks!” Miu flipped over the Monopoly board in anger. “Let’s play something else!” she barked out.
“Alright, then. What do you suggest?” Korekiyo asked.
Shuichi grabbed for his glass of water as a devious grin spread across Miu’s lips.
“Let’s play Fuck, Marry, or Kill.” she suggested.
“H-Huh?!” Keebo gawked at her in shock. “Why that game?!” he asked.
“Why not?!” she looked at Keebo, who was sitting beside Shuichi. “What, you chicken?” she teased.
“I...! I’m not a chicken!” Keebo exclaimed.
“Maaaaaan, you sure are dumb, you good-for-nothing slut!”
Shuichi tensed as he felt Kokichi press his chest against his back, his arms slinging themselves over Shuichi’s shoulders as he pressed his cheek to the side of his head. His heart skipped a beat as Kokichi sighed, his breath hitting the shell of his ear.
“Keebaby can’t be a robot and a chicken at the same time! Oh wait, I guess he can. We’d all just call him Robo-Chicken, then!” Kokichi chirped.
“That is seriously robophobic, Ouma-kun!” Keebo complained.
Kokichi let out his signature ‘nishishi’.
“Maaaaaaaan, you seriously need to learn how to have more fun, Keebaby! Or is that something robots can’t do?” he asked.
“Guh...! Stop bullying me!” Keebo whined.
“Ouma-kun, maybe you can tone down the comments a little?” Shuichi suggested.
“Noooooooope~!” Kokichi chirped before releasing him and skipping over to Rantaro, who was playing Jenga with Himiko and Tenko.
Shuichi swallowed as he watched Kokichi tackle Rantaro from behind, causing him to tip forward and knock down the Jenga tower.
He wished that Kokichi stayed with him for just a little longer.
Tenko began scolding Rantaro for knocking down the tower, calling him a “degenerate avocado” as he apologized for knocking the tower down. Kokichi giggled, slinging his arms over Rantaro’s shoulders and pressing his cheek to the side of his head. The action caused Shuichi to bite his lip, jealousy bubbling up inside of him.
You just did that to me and now you’re doing it with him, he thought to himself.
“Oi! Shittyhara!” Miu snapped her fingers in his face, pulling him out of his thoughts. “You game or what?!” she asked.
“Huh? Ah...I guess I am...” Shuichi trailed off.
“Keh, seems like you’ve got guts every once in a while.” she commented.
“What is that supposed to mean...?” Shuichi mumbled as Miu stood, cupping her hands around her mouth.
“Hey, losers! Listen up! We’re gonna play some good old Fuck, Marry, or Kill!” she hollered.
“Heh?! What kind of game is that?!” Gonta exclaimed in horror.
“A fun one! Now then, let’s tweak it a bit. We’re gonna do Fuck, Kill, Marry, or Pass!” Miu looked over at Kirumi. “Oi, Toujou! Write everyone’s names on some slips of paper! Do four for each person!” she said.
“I’ll get to work on it right away.” she said as she went to get a pen and some pieces of paper.
“Everyone come sit over here!” Miu hollered.
“I wanna keep playing the piano, though...” Kaede trailed off.
“Then, keep playing it, Bakamatsu!” Miu barked out.
“O-Okay!” Kaede responded as she began to play another song.
Everyone came over to where Miu, Shuichi, Keebo, and Korekiyo were. Shuichi watched as Kokichi plopped down beside Rantaro.
There he goes again, acting all close with Amami-kun, he thought to himself.
He felt the jealousy continue to bubble up as Kirumi finished with the slips of paper and threw them into a plastic bowl.
“I have finished with the papers.” she said, handing the bowl to Miu.
“Good! Now, the rules are simple. One person will go at a time. They will draw a slip of paper out from the bowl and unfold it to see who they got. Then, they will tell us whether they would fuck, kill, pass, or marry that person. After they do that, the next person is selected and we go through the same thing again.” Miu explained.
“Ah! That sounds simple enough!” Tenko declared.
“Nyeh...I kinda don’t wanna do this...” Himiko mumbled tiredly.
“Come on, Yumeno-san! Tenko thinks it’ll be fun!” Tenko chirped.
Himiko sighed.
“Whatever...” she trailed off.
“Alright! Who would like to go first?” Miu asked as she waved the bowl around.
“I’ll take it.” Korekiyo spoke up, snatching the bowl from her.
He reached into the bowl and pulled out a slip of paper, unfolding it.
“Oh my. The person I got is Yonaga-san.” he began to think. “Hm...if I had to choose, I would say kill.” he said.
“Ohoh? And why would you want to kill Angie?” Angie asked as she played with her ponytail.
“Quite frankly, you are really annoying and I would like nothing more than for you to shut up...permanently.” Korekiyo explained.
“Is that so! Well, I hope that once you accomplish that, Atua punishes you accordingly!” Angie chirped.
“Wait, wait, hold on a minute! Why in the world are you okay with that?!” Tenko screeched.
“Because I know Atua will be there with me, even in the afterlife!” Angie replied.
“Gosh, you are so weird!” Tenko exclaimed as Korekiyo handed the bowl to Tsumugi.
“Oh, it’s my turn.” she reached in and pulled out a slip of paper. “Ah, I got Akamatsu-san!” she chirped.
She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she spoke.
“Hm...I would have to say marry, if I’m being honest.” she said.
“What?!” Kaede slammed down on the keys a little harder than she intended to. “You would marry me?!” she exclaimed in surprise.
“I would, yeah! I mean, I think you’d make a perfect housewife!” Tsumugi said.
“I...I don’t swing that way, though!” Kaede exclaimed.
Tsumugi giggled.
“I know you don’t. It’s just a joke.” she said.
“Alright! Lemme see that bowl!” Miu hollered as she snatched the bowl from her. She stuck her hand into the bowl and pulled out a slip of paper. She unfolded it and a grin spread across her lips.
“Oh, I like this one! I got Keebo!” she declared.
“Huh?! Me?!” Keebo exclaimed in shock.
“Yeah, you! Now, the answer is quite obvious: I would defs fuck him!” she said.
“Wh-What?!” Keebo squawked.
“Oh my.” Korekiyo remarked.
“Oh great. She’s at it again.” Kokichi drawled, twirling some hair around his finger as Miu began to drool.
“I mean, Keebo is pretty darn attractive! Plus, having sex with a robot is something you don’t get to do often! Imagine what could happen if I do...” she trailed off.
“Uwaaaaaaah! I...Iruma-san, you’re scaring me!” Keebo exclaimed.
“Ugh, keep your damn trap shut, you good for nothing cum dumpster! None of us want to know about your disgusting sexual fantasies involving robots!” Kokichi barked out.
Miu squealed, writhing about in her seat as Ryoma sighed.
“I’ll go next.” he said as he took the bowl.
They continued playing for about half an hour. When it was Shuichi’s turn, he had said that he would kill Tsumugi (“You just seem like someone who would try and cook up evil, so before you cause trouble, I’ll get rid of you,” was his response when she demanded that he tell her why he would kill her) before giving the bowl to Kaede.
The bowl eventually landed in Kokichi’s lap.
“It’s my turn now~!” he chirped as he stuck his hand into the bowl.
He moved his hand around in it for a bit, a grin spreading across his lips.
“Oi! Cut it out with the suspense already and pull one out!” Miu snapped.
“Shut it, you dumb bimbo!” Kokichi snapped back as he pulled a piece of paper out and unfolded it.
Shuichi watched him as Kokichi smiled.
“I got Amami-chan!” he chirped.
“Oh, me?” Rantaro questioned in surprise.
“Yup! Ah, this one’s gonna be hard...” he trailed off.
As he tapped his finger against his chin, Shuichi began to think.
Please say pass, please say pass, please say pass, he silently prayed.
“Okay, I think I’m gonna say fuck!” Kokichi declared.
Shuichi could only watch him in surprise as Rantaro spoke, a bewildered look on his face.
“You would really want to do that with me?” Rantaro chuckled. “You’re like a little brother to me, though.” he pointed out.
“Heh?! I can’t?! But...” Kokichi pressed himself against Rantaro. “You’re really attractive, Amami-chan. I’m pretty sure some people would kill just to get a piece of you. I mean, you’ve got such a pretty face, beautiful eyes, killer piercings, and really nice lips...” Kokichi trailed off.
Shuichi’s hands clenched into fists as he watched Kokichi and Rantaro interact. He barely registered hearing Kaito ask him if he was okay as his jealousy threatened to rear its ugly head.
If he was being quite frank, watching them interact was becoming very annoying.
“Hey, Ouma-kun?” he called out.
“Hm?” Kokichi hummed out in response.
“If you’re done, can we move on to the next person?” he requested, his eyebrow twitching.
“Alright then~!” Kokichi singsonged before dropping the bowl in Rantaro’s lap.
Shuichi lowered his gaze to the ground as various thoughts swirled about in his mind.
Oh my god, was I actually about to let my jealousy get the better of me? Come on, Shuichi! You’re supposed to be more composed than this, he scolded himself.
After Rantaro went, they started over again. Sooner or later, the bowl was given to Kokichi.
“My turn again~!” he declared as he stuck his hand in and pulled out a slip of paper.
He unfolded it and a mischievous look washed over his face.
“Ohoh? I got Saihara-chan!” he exclaimed.
Shuichi’s heart leapt at the sound of his name.
He got me? I wonder what he’s going to pick, he wondered to himself.
“Hm...I think I’ll pass~” he said.
Shuichi eyed Kokichi in surprise.
Huh?
“What?! Pass?!” Miu exclaimed.
“Gosh, clean your ears out, you nasty pig! I said pass! I ain’t gonna repeat myself again!” Kokichi snapped.
“Pass, huh...” Shuichi muttered under his breath.
I’m not someone he’d marry, kill, or do it with...I’m a total pass entirely, he thought to himself.
He watched as Kokichi handed the bowl to Rantaro, giggling as their hands brushed.
I knew it. I don’t have a chance with him. He looks like he’s more interested in Amami-kun, anyway, he thought to himself.
“I’m gonna step out for a bit.” he muttered out before standing up and heading out of the room.
He pretended that he didn’t hear Kaito calling out to him as he stepped out and closed the door behind him.
💜💜💜💜
Shuichi found himself seated at one of the benches under the flower-covered trellis outside.
“Oh gosh, I feel like an idiot...” he muttered.
“Is that so? Then, may I tell you about something that may be of interest to you?”
Shuichi’s eyebrows furrowed as he looked to see Monobear standing beside him.
“Monobear...” he trailed off.
“Upupupu~! It is indeed me, your beloved headmaster! Now, to the matter at hand...” the monochromatic bear pulled out a circular object. “Take it!” it said, shoving it into Shuichi’s hands.
“What the...?! What in the world did you give me?!” Shuichi asked.
“Oh, it’s just a little gift from me to you.” Monobear replied.
Shuichi looked down and saw that it was sticker with Monobear on it along with the words, “I’m sorry, I was born stupid,” written in hot pink letters. His eyebrow twitched as he reread the sentence on the sticker.
This blasted bear...! He’s mocking me, he thought to himself.
“I don’t need this! Take it back!” Shuichi snapped angrily, turning to face Monobear.
However, Monobear had already left. Shuichi gritted his teeth, crushing the sticker in his hand as he stood up.
“God fricking...!” he growled out as he chucked the sticker into the distance.
He released a loud sigh as he dropped back down onto the bench, resting his head on the table.
I’m so pathetic, he thought to himself.
He felt something poking at his shoulder.
“Go away, Monobear...” he mumbled.
His shoulder was poked at again.
“I said go away.” he said.
The poking at his shoulder became more persistent. Shuichi’s eyebrow twitched.
Can’t that stupid bear take a hint, he asked himself.
“What did I tell you?! Leave me alone, you annoying bear!” he snapped as he shrugged them off and stood up from his seat, whirling around to face the bear so that he could show him what for.
Instead, he came face to face with a slightly taken aback Kokichi. His breath caught in his throat as he watched the supreme leader slowly withdraw his hand.
“Ah...Ouma-kun...” he reached up to tug down on the brim of his cap. “Sorry for shrugging you off like that...I’m sure I must’ve surprised you like that...” he murmured.
“Oh no, I wasn’t surprised by your sudden outburst, so you’re fine. However!” Kokichi pointed an accusatory finger at the detective. “You should apologize for calling me Monobear! I’m nothing like that obnoxious bear!” he snapped.
“Ah! I’m sorry for calling you Monobear!” Shuichi exclaimed.
“Geeeeeeeeez, Saihara-chan!” Kokichi crossed his arms over his chest, puffing his cheeks out in a pout. “You offend me.” he said.
“I told you that I’m sorry...” he dropped his hand down to his side. “Anyway, what are you doing out here?” he asked.
“I came out here for a stroll.” Kokichi replied.
“That sounds like a lie.” Shuichi deadpanned.
“Nishishi~! You totally got me! That was indeed a lie!” Kokichi declared.
Shuichi’s heart raced as Kokichi took a step towards him, leaning forward so that he was up in his face.
“You see, I came to find you because you looked all glum and stuff.” he said.
“Ah...I see...” Shuichi trailed off, his cheeks growing warm.
He sat back down on the bench, hoping that the blush would go away as Kokichi sat down beside him, a wide grin on his face.
“So? What’s got you down? You stepped out shortly after my turn in the game.” Kokichi asked.
“I just wanted to get some fresh air.” Shuichi replied.
“Fresh air, huh...” Kokichi trailed off.
He reached up to twirl some hair around his finger, swinging his legs back and forth.
“Nice try, Saihara-chan, but that was one terrible lie.” he looked over at Shuichi. “Care to tell me the real reason why? Or should I guess for you?” he asked.
Shuichi stayed silent, lowering his gaze to his lap.
“Okay, I’m gonna take a guess. You got all butthurt over what I said earlier in the room about how I would pass on you. Now, if that’s what it was, I’m sorry if I offended you. I didn’t mean for it to come off as mean.” Kokichi apologized.
“That...that’s not what it is...” Shuichi mumbled.
“Hm? Then, what exactly is it?” Kokichi asked.
“It’s nothing! You don’t need to worry about it! Just...go back and hang out with Amami-kun or something...” Shuichi trailed off.
“Hm? I can’t exactly do that, especially since you said something that interests me.” Kokichi blinked up at him. “You could’ve told me to go back and hang out with the others, but you specifically said Amami-chan’s name.” he commented.
Shuichi felt his breath catch in his throat. Oh shit.
Did I really say that, he began to mentally panic as Kokichi continued.
“So, this leads me to think that there’s something bigger going on here. Care to enlighten me, Saihara-chan?” he asked.
“I...” Shuichi trailed off.
Shuichi jumped as he felt Kokichi place his hand on his leg.
“You can tell me. I don’t plan on going around and telling everyone.” Kokichi said.
“That sounds like a lie.” Shuichi commented.
“I can tell you right now that it’s not, I swear on my top secret organization.” Shuichi glanced out of the corner, watching as Kokichi imitated zipping his mouth shut, locking it, and throwing away the key. “Promise.” he said.
Shuichi looked away, sighing.
“It’s just...I’m irritated.” he said.
“Irritated? About what?” Kokichi asked.
“Just...things.” Shuichi replied.
“Things? Like, what kind of things?”
“I told you already. Just things.”
Kokichi’s brows furrowed.
“That’s not helping. You need to be more specific.” he said.
“I don’t want to be more specific, though!” Shuichi complained.
“Well, I can’t figure out what’s up if you don’t tell me!” Kokichi pointed out.
“It’s just...irritating! I don’t like how close you are with Amami-kun!” Shuichi exclaimed.
Kokichi blinked his eyes twice.
“Oh?” he said.
“Actually...I don’t like it when you two interact! I wish you would stop talking and clinging onto him so much!” Shuichi said.
“Why’s that, Saihara-chan?” Kokichi asked.
“It’s because I—“ Shuichi drew in a sharp gasp once he realized what he was about to say.
Kokichi tilted his head to the side, eyeing him curiously.
“It’s because you...?” Kokichi trailed off.
Shuichi’s hands flew over his mouth.
Oh my god, was I seriously about to tell him that I love him?! What is wrong with me, he asked himself.
“Just forget I said anything!” Shuichi snapped as he stood up from his seat and he began to walk to the dormitory.
“Huh?! When you put it like that, I don’t think I can!” Kokichi stood up, as well. “Tell me, Saihara-chan!” he shouted.
“I told you to just forget I said anything!” Shuichi shouted back.
He pushed the door open and began to make his way over to his room.
If he stayed out any longer, he feared that his feelings were going to overtake him and spill out.
He needed to get away.
He fumbled for his keys as the door opened.
“Mister Shuichi Saihara, you are NOT going to get away from me!” Kokichi marched over to him and grabbed his arm, whirling Shuichi around. “If you think you can just walk off after saying something like that, you are terribly mistaken, Mister Detective!” Kokichi snapped, jabbing his index finger into Shuichi’s chest.
Shuichi swallowed as Kokichi continued, his eyes trained on the supreme leader’s lips all the while.
“It’s rare for you to be so demanding! Telling me that I should stop talking and getting close with Amami-chan? I mean, I can hang out with whoever I feel like hanging out with and I can get close to whoever I feel like wanting to get close to, but if it’s bothering you so much that you feel the need to say those things to me, then I would at least like to know why.” Kokichi stared at Shuichi. “Why does it bother you so mu—“
Shuichi felt his emotions spill out as he reached out towards Kokichi, grabbing him by the cheeks and pulling him into a kiss. He could feel Kokichi gasp against his lips as he kissed him, the world beginning to melt away.
He pulled away from the kiss a few minutes later, watching the dumbfounded look that washed over Kokichi’s face.
“Saihara-chan—“
“It’s because I like you, Ouma-kun! Actually, saying that I like you is just putting it lightly. I am head over heels, totally in love with you. The reason why I don’t want you to hang around Amami-kun is because I get jealous! I want you to hang out with me and only me...” his cheeks burned in embarrassment as he tugged the brim of his cap down to hide his face from view. “Gosh, I don’t even know why I’m confessing to you when I know I don’t have a chance with you. It’s obvious by the way you act that you like Amami-kun, anywa—“
“Stop talking.”
“Huh?” Shuichi slowly lifted his gaze upward. “Ouma-ku—“ that was when he was backed up against the door to his room, Kokichi grabbing for his face and closing the distance between them.
Shuichi’s eyes widened as their lips came together in a kiss. Kokichi pressed himself against him, letting his fingers slip into Shuichi’s locks. Shuichi sighed against his lips, eyes fluttering shut as he kissed back.
Kokichi’s tongue slithered out and he licked at Shuichi’s lips. Before Shuichi could part his lips to let Kokichi slip his tongue inside, the supreme leader pulled away.
“Saihara-chan, you’re quite funny.” he commented.
“Huh? What do you mean?” Shuichi asked.
“You said that you feel like you have no chance with me. I find it very amusing that you think so.” Kokichi threw his hands onto his hips. “Do you know how long I’ve been waiting for you to finally make a move on me?” he asked.
“I don’t know, how long exac—wait a minute.” Shuichi blinked his eyes. “What did you just say?” he asked.
“I asked if you knew how long I’ve been waiting for you to finally make a move on me.” Kokichi sighed. “Do I really need to spell it out for you? I feel the same way about you.” he said.
“You...feel the same way...” Shuichi trailed off.
“Yes, I do. I only got close to Amami-kun to push you to act.” Kokichi explained.
“Wait, so you knew that I had feelings for you all this time?!” Shuichi exclaimed in shock.
“Yeah, I did!” Kokichi replied.
“Then...why didn’t you say anything if you like me, too?!” Shuichi asked.
“That’s because I wanted to hear it from you first! Besides...being the first one to confess is so not my style...” Kokichi mumbled as he reached up to twirl some hair around his fingers, his cheeks slowly taking on a pink hue.
Shuichi watched Kokichi for a couple of minutes before bursting into laughter.
“O-Oi! Don’t laugh at me! It’s not funny!” Kokichi complained, the blush on his cheeks deepening.
The supreme leader poured as Shuichi’s laughter began to die down.
“I’m sorry...it’s just that that’s so you, Ouma-kun...” Shuichi trailed off.
“Ah! There’s no need for you to call me that anymore! Seeing as we’re dating now, I think we should start calling each other by our first names.” Kokichi looked up at Shuichi. “What do you think?” he suggested.
“Yeah...” Shuichi murmured.
“You go first.” Kokichi said.
“Okay...uh...” Shuichi swallowed, noting how Kokichi was watching him expectantly. “Ko...Kokichi...” he mumbled out.
Kokichi stated at him with a blank expression, his face giving away zero emotion. He then watched as Kokichi lowered his gaze.
“That...actually sounds nice...” he murmured.
“Okay, I said it. It’s your turn now.” Shuichi said.
“Okay...” Kokichi tugged at the hem of his shirt. “Shu...” he trailed off.
Kokichi glanced up at Shuichi, their eyes meeting for a split second before he lowered his gaze again.
“Shu...Shui...” Shuichi noticed how Kokichi’s cheeks were beginning to turn red. “Shuu-chan...” he trailed off.
He looked up at him.
“Shuu-chan.” Kokichi repeated.
“That’s cheating. You didn’t even say my full name.” Shuichi stated bluntly.
“I can’t help it, okay?! It’s just...I’ve never had to do something like that before...” the blush on his cheeks deepened. “It’s going to take me a while before I can actually say it...” Kokichi trailed off.
“Okay. Then, we can take it slow. You can call me that and I’ll call you by a shortened version of your name, as well. Once you’re ready, I’ll start calling you by your name.” Shuichi said.
“Alright. What do you plan on calling me, Shuu-chan?” Kokichi asked.
“Hm...how about Kichi?” Shuichi suggested.
“I like that. So, you can call me that and I’ll call you Shuu-chan.” Kokichi said.
“Deal.” Shuichi pulled Kokichi close to him. “I love you, Kichi.” he said.
Kokichi smiled.
“I do too, Shuu-chan.” he replied as Shuichi closed the distance between them again, letting the world melt away and losing himself in Shuichi.

Kominato Haruichi, Kuroko Tetsuya and Kirishima Sekito please! (Sorry, always the same three and my usual reader 😂). Can the boys recieve chocolates from a mystery admirer, and their teammates try to get invlolved? Reader eventually gives a hint it was them 💙
Since it’s Valentines Day, I will post the two asks based around it lol  Here you go!  Ps. Honmei is homemade chocolate that is extra special, and giri is obligation chocolate given to friends/family
KominatoHaruichi
“What’s that grin about?” Kanemaruasked, eying the pair as they walked towards the field.
Haruichi sighed, trying his best toignore his pink ears.  Toujou, meanwhile, kept grinning.  “Haru has a secretadmirer!” He chirped, throwing a teasing look at his shorter friend.
Kanemaru’s eyebrows rose, and asmirk popped up on his lips.  “Ooh, luckyguy!”
“It’s Valentine’s day… everyone getssecret chocolates,” Haruichi replied a little sour.
“These ones were special though,” Toujou insisted.  “Definitely homemade.  Someone reallylikes Haru!”
“Was there a card?”
Haruichi tried to tame his blush ashe remembered opening his shoe box and finding the special chocolates inamongst the pile of giri chocolates.  Itwas hard, because his heart rate sped up and he felt warm all over.  “No…”
“Wait, wait, did I just hear Harugot honmei chocolates??”  Sawamura burst into the conversation, appearing out of nowhere.
Great…  Haruichi sighed inwardly.  Here wego.
“Yup!”
“We have to find out who gave them!”Sawamura near-shouted eagerly.  “Theycould be your soulmate, Harucchi!”
“I think you’ve been reading toomuch shoujo manga, Eijun,” Haruichi stated, voice dry.  “Obviously whoever gave them to me wants tostay anonymous.”
Of course, there was one person he hoped had left them for him, but therewas no way he was that lucky.  Haruichi stopped listening, turning his headslightly and caught sight of you carrying a crate of balls.  Was it just his imagination or were youblushing?  He kept watching you, and tohis surprise when you accidentally caught his eye, you jumped and hurried away.
And what did that mean?  Haruichi wasintrigued now.  You’d never had thatreaction before – you were always so strong and straightforward.  This could only mean you had some kind ofsecret.  Hope bubbled in his gut and hisheart jumped to his throat.
Maybe he was that lucky.
KurokoTetsuya
“What’s this?”
Kagami was tall enough that therewas little Kuroko could do to stop him from grabbing the small box ofchocolates out of his arm.  His armflashed forward and the box was gone before he could protest.  Narrowing his eyes, Kuroko stared at Kagami, who blithely grinned as he studied the little box.
“Honmei, nice,” Kagami said.  “From the person you hope?”
Kuroko shook his head.  His best friend often lacked tact, but he wasglad this was not one of those times. They were surrounded by people, and he could see you coming towards themfrom down the hall.  “There’s no name orcard,” he replied, taking the box back. “I found it in my shoebox.”
He tracked your progress, admiringthe way you’d done your hair that day. You were alone, no doubt heading towards your class, which was, coincidentally, where he and Kagami were loitering.  This meant you were going to have to walkpast him…
“You should try to find out who sentthem,” Kagami said, oblivious to your progress. “Maybe you’ll get lucky-”
“Oh, good morning, Kuroko-kun,” yourvoice cut Kagami off and you came to a stop next to them.
Kuroko smiled.  “Good morning, ____-san.”
Your eyes fell to the box in hishand, and to his surprise, barely flickered with reaction.  Shouldn’t you be more surprised?  As he watched you, he thought a flash ofsomething moved over your face, something soft.
Most people would have calledattention to the chocolate, but you just inhaled subtly and smiled evenwider.  “It’s almost time for the bell, better go in!” You said cheerfully, waving a bit as you moved on into theclassroom.
The gears turned in Kuroko’shead.  Was it possible?
“Why don’t you go find out?” Kagamislapped him on the back, causing him to stumble a few steps.
If he was going to ask you, hecertainly wasn’t going to do so in the middle of class.  Later… Later before practice…
He’d corner you then.
KirishimaSekito
The teasing wasn’t entirelyunexpected, but he still hated every minute of it.  His brother couldn’t care less, but thatdidn’t mean his other teammates didn’t. Zanba laughed obnoxiously loud and smacked him on the back – as always, forgetting that he was nearly twice his size and that such a smack inevitablyended up with him in the dirt.
Sekito was prepared this time, hekept hold of his precious cargo and rolled the second he hit the ground, protecting the little box as best he could. He hadn’t even figured out who’d left them for him yet…
“Sekito-kun?”
Oh. Oh no.  Sekito looked up and foundyou leaned over him, looking down, your notebook clutched to your chest as hewas clutching his chocolates.  Heatburned up his neck and over his cheeks, and he scrambled to his feet, stillclutching the little box of chocolates. “Hey, ____-chan!”
Your gaze dropped to the chocolatesand widened, a quiet gasp falling from your lips.
What did that mean?
“Na, ___-chan,” Zanba rumbled, injecting himself into the conversation, looming over both of you.  “Did you give Kirishima honmei choco?”
You immediately turned red, wideeyes turning first to Zanba, then to him. “I…er…” You stammered.
That… wasn’t no.  Sekito felt hope bloom eternal in his chestand a wide grin pasted itself on his face. “Is it true?” He wheedled, moving closer to you and leaningforward.  “Did you leave these for me?”
“Maybe,” you mumbled lookingdown.  “Practice is starting!”  You near-shouted, then fled like the houndsof hell were on your heels.
Sekito didn’t bother to hide hisfeelings.  You ran now, but later, he’dcatch you and thank you properly~

Amami does not have romantic feelings for anyone. Kodaka himself confirmed in the artbook that Rantaro can only express brotherly love for people. There is no way in hell that he fell in love with Shuichi and less with Kokichi. The closest character that you can say that are in love/ have interest with is Kaede, like it or not. Stop being so deceived about your impossible ships. Your word is not worth more than Kodaka's.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Good day anon! Whoa, I’m surprised to see this the firstthing in the morning (I think this is my first anon/ship hate hhhh)! But worrynot, I’ll happily explain why I shipped Oumami and AmaSai, so prepare your popcorn! °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°
(This will be kinda long because I rarely talk about myships, & THIS CONTAINS NDRV3 SPOILERS!!)
Firstly I’ll apologize if I focused more on Oumami, it’sbecause they’re my ultimate OTP at the moment hahaa Xa
First off that part about Amami can only express brotherlylove for people in the artbook, I think it actually refers to his fondnessabout his sisters, because as we all know he’s really worried about them andhence his priority is to save his sisters. So I actually think it made senses when forced to do a killing game, his only worries was to get out there assoon as possible & saving his sisters, and romance is not his utmostpriority there.
Tumblr media
As you can see the term here is actually imouto(littlesisters) love, so imo the artbook here actually is not making point about his brotherly love for any peoplebut his sisters only (Because when I looked for fraternal love google refers it as 兄弟愛/ kyoudai ai & not imouto rabu? so i think this term is exclusively for his lil sis, which invalid your excuses that this section talks about his type of love for other people). But no worries! Actually as seen in otoges there’s usually the big bro type, and I think he’ll suits that type hahaa.
But what if the killing game isn’t commenced? Then theprobabilities broaden! I think many ndrv3 fanarts are actually based on what if they survived / lived happily scenarios, and I’m sure fall for that trope too. Well I like to think because Amami’s a brother of 12sisters, he’ll be more attentive toward someone who’s younger–looking, in thiscase Ouma! Imo Ouma knows one of his strong point is he kinda looks like achild, so he can use his looks to his advantage wwww So this is just my own hc,but I think Ouma will keep pestering Amami (about his talent or anything rly),and because Amami doesn’t remember anything (or probably being cautious atfirst) he’ll dodged the questions. Ouma kinda doubts that, so he’ll keepsticking near Amami all the time. And although at first Amami was bothered, inthe end he can’t help but being weak when Ouma goes all cute & adorable, sohe’s fine with Ouma being around. And that will branches into them getting toknow about each other more, that even in the end they’ll grow closer & probably comfortable enoughto share about their pasts ;w;
Even if they’re in the killing game, I also like Oumamidynamic! Ouma likes interesting thing, moreover mysteries & ofc he’sinterested to solve the mysteries around Amami, being an amnesiac and all. Evenwhen Amami’s gone, Ouma was still determined to solve the mysteries behind him, judging by how he knew about Amami’s safe combination & such. If Amamilives longer, I think somehow he’ll be the only person that gets how Ouma’s wayof thinking is….  For example in thetrial when Ouma states his statements that riddled with lies, the only personthat can comprehend & decipher the truth from those statements is Amami. Amami being the cautious person he is probablywon’t say anything outright too, and Ouma knowing the clever boy Amami is certainlywill enjoy digging more informations out of him. Heck, they even shared thesame goal to find the mastermind by themselves, so probably if they somehowrealized the others are not a threat they even can cooperate together __(:’3__
ALSO FUN FACT ship doesn’t need to be about interactions all the time!!It can be about their complimenting/contrasting designs/personalities, or maybe you just think the pair look nice together? Sure, ship them if you feel like it! Here are some my favorite tidbits that make me got moooore interested in Oumami :http://rosesoma.tumblr.com/post/153133450929/do-you-know-why-we-ship-oumamihttp://rurukandy.tumblr.com/post/156478379296/i-know-that-amami-and-ouma-didnt-interact-at-allhttp://oumakokichi.tumblr.com/post/168624564590/okay-so-youve-mentioned-that-ouma-might-have
So imo even they barely interacted in the game, it’s interesting how we can imagined how will their interactions be together based on these infos that actually kinda hidden & needs extra attentions to find! (*sigh* Kodaka, why would you waste such a potentialinteresting pairing development T_T)
For Saihara, because at first he doesn’t look thatconfidence I think Amami want to boost Saihara’s confidence too. Like there’s amoment where he told Kaede to stop teasing Saihara, so I think Amami actuallywants to protect him too hahaa!
Also I think you should already know about dangan salmonteam ends, but Amami asking for Saihara’s help to find his sisters by going ona trip around the whole world for their whole life?? Man if that ain’t a proposalthen I dunno what it could be ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Then all of my drawings about Saioumami? Well I loves imagining their interactions, like Amami taking care of the 2 boys & doing silly things together~ But y’know, just because I ship & draw them doesn’t automatically make them canon, & even so I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t enjoy this ship! I can ship anything I want even if they’re not canon, & tbh I’m still quite confused why you’re so fixated that I should ship pairing that (probably) is canon ._.
Well I respect every ships you know, & I think it’s quiteclear that I’m a multishipper! I likeAmamatsu (they look cute together!), and I even think Amami & Toujou lookgood together! But if this is your way to forced your otp/hcs onto me, I thinkthis is not the best way to do it….. Pls don’t make other Amamatsu shipperslook bad ;_;  If you hc Amamatsu or Amamias an ace I’ll totally respect it, but please respect my opinion for shipping Oumami and AmaSai too!
And I don’t think Oumami is impossible (except the factsthat they’re uh… y’know… ded) since we don’t really know how Amami & Oumawill interacted if they’re both alive & not forced to do the killing game, and for AmaSai? Hoooh boy Amami asking Saihara to go on a trip around the worldtogether for their whole life doesn’t sounds gay, suuuure ;)) But if you keep insistingthey’re impossible…. Y’know, as creators we strive to make the impossible topossible! That’s also why au and hc exist!  So don’t worry, one day I’ll surely draw my hcsabout Oumami~ (╯✧∇✧)╯
Also my words doesn’t worth more than Kodaka? When I evenever forced everyone that they should ship Oumami or AmaSai…? I rarely eventalk about Oumami because I only know a few people that ships them, that’s whyI just… draw Oumami… And hoping to found more shippers… ( ´•̥̥̥ω•̥̥̥` )  Or do you think when I said I ship Oumami thenthey suddenly will become canon?! Gooosh you think too highly of me anon! >///
So that concludes it! I’m sorry if some parts are poorly worded / come off as aggressive/offensive,but I tried my best to make my wordings polite enough, and personally I thinkit’s even too polite to actually show my frustrations wwww Also rest assured, I’m not trying to attackany ships or anything!
Also anon! Wouldn’t it be nice if we just respect each otherships and headcanons? I think it’s nice enough we have interests in a samefandom, so won’t it will be really nice if we all can get along? So basically a ship DOESN’T NEED TO BE CANON, LET’S JUST SHIP WHAT WE LIKE & DON’T ATTACK OTHER PEOPLE IF WE DISLIKE THEIR SHIPS! I mean, do you think some random ship hatecoming outta nowhere will make someone’s day better? Of course not! (´;ω;`) I hope in the future there’ll be lessdiscourses about shipping because I’ll always in the stances to let peopleenjoy what make them happy (as long it’s harmless)! ^^
If you reached this far then thank you for reading my rambling! Also Oumami and AmaSai and Saioumami BANZAI!!! \(*゚∀゚*)/

A Grail War We Didn’t Need
Just need to post this somewhere lol
The Main Characters in this will be Yoshiko Tsushima, Mari Ohara, Maki Nishikino and Nozomi Toujou along with their servants, Carmila, Merlin, Miyamoto Musashi and Ozymandias.
Chapter 1 - I Summoned a Demon! Right?
Yoshiko Tsushima, otherwise known by her fallen angel name, Yohane had been reasearching through the internet on a weekend where Ruby and Hanamaru were busy. Ruby was with her sister, shopping and Hanamaru was at the shrine, helping as it was getting busy for the Spring. Yoshiko took a deep sigh, she didn’t want to go with Mari as she found her a little too eccentric and Kanan was with her and the second years, Chika, You and Riko. As she was scrolled through an internet forum for the upcoming anime of the year, she came across a post that had been titled ‘Summoning!’ Being the person, she is her eyes lit up and punched the air. “Yes! I, Yohane shall summon a demon!” She said to herself and proceeded to clear the floor of her room, which was filled with papers and figures.
As soon as she cleared the floor, she went to get a marker and drew the symbol that encompassed a large area of her room. She took her time making sure every detail was there, not missing a single thing. After kneeling for a while, drawing the symbol, she stood up and stretched. “Ah! Yohane now has finished the symbol! Now the chant!” She went to her laptop that was on her bed and scrolled down the post, to see that she had to say specific words. She then looked to the symbol she drew. “Okay…” She hummed to herself.
“This can work!”
She cleared her throat and took a deep breath.
“Let Silver and Steel be the Essence. Let Stone and the Archduke of Contracts be the Foundation. Let Blue be the colour I pay tribute to. Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall.”
The ground on where she drew the large symbol had started to glow, she closed her eyes and continued on with the rest, as if it was always embedded in her mind.
“Let the four cardinal gates close. Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the Kingdom rotate. Let it be declared now; your flesh shall serve under me, and my fate shall be with your sword. Submit to the beckoning of the Holy Grail. Answer, if you would submit to this will and this truth.”
The young school idol raised her hand into the air and placed her other against her left eye that was closed, as she continued.
“An oath shall be sworn here. I shall attain all virtues of all of Heaven. I shall have dominion over all evils of all of Hell. From the Seventh Heaven, attended to by three great words of power…”
She moved her fingers that was placed on her left eye, as a slight breeze was blowing through her room. She opened both her eyes as she said the final line.
“Come froth from the ring of restraint, protector of the holy balance!”
A great wind had over come her room, blowing most of her things onto the floor. She covered her face with her arms as the wind was getting stronger. Yoshiko was then blown off her balance and landed onto her bed, landing face first into her pillow. She started screaming into her pillow as the wind died down. As soon as she felt the wind die down, she took a small peak from her pillow as she stopped screaming.
From where she drew the symbol, stood a figure. She quickly sat up and observed the figure. The person was wearing a red high-class lingerie dress. Her sleeves started from below the shoulder and extended down to the floor. The lower half of the dress had a slit down the middle, which showed her fishnet stockings. She wore a mask upon her face and a headband hat consisted of two horns pointing straight upwards. In her right hand she held a sceptre, that had a bat design on top of it and a cage design below it. She let the sceptre rest on her left hand as her eyes went bright yellow, glaring at her new master. She had a very womanly figure which perfectly suit what she wore. She sighed as she let the bottom of the sceptre rest onto the floor, still holding onto the main part, as she brushed her white hair to the side with her left hand. Yoshiko could only stare.
“Ah. This must be what they call fate.” The woman sighed.
“I am the Assassin class servant of this Holy Grail War. Pleased to meet my new master.” The woman smirked before looking around her surroundings.
Yoshiko couldn’t speak. Not until the woman looked to her again.
“YES, I DID IT!”
The woman could only blink in surprise as Yoshiko rushed over to her and excitedly look at the person asking a plethora of questions.
“Do you have wings?”
“What’s the underworld like?”
“What does the staff do?”
“Are those bunny ears on top of your head?”
The assassin servant could only look confused, sure she had a nice young girl as her master, but she was a lot more…eccentric than she was hoping for. She was cute, that’s all that mattered to her. A thought suddenly hit Yoshiko among the questions she was asking.
“…Wait how am I going to explain how you got here?! And your name! Do you have one?”
The assassin could only stare at her for a moment before speaking up.
“You may call me Assassin in the presence of others, but in moments like these you may call me…Carmilla.”
In another area of Uchiura, another summoning had occurred. A certain blonde had a smirk on as the desired servant was summoned for her. “Yes! It worked!”
“Servant Caster! I am the Magus of the Flowers, otherwise known as Merlin! No formalities please, master!”
His staff and white shining cloak and ever-shining hair and smirk was all present.
“Now that’s shiny.” Mari Ohara stated as she looked upon her servant, with a smile.

Hi hi!!!
For my 500th post, I found this pic on twitter and thought it would be nice update for honorifics disclaimer I wrote long time ago. Would be better if you read that one first

Now, allow me for some grammar time-(special thanks to Namuwiki and Tv Trpoes, Wikipedia too)
First Person Pronouns:
Watashi: Variation of watakushi(わたくし). It sounds more casual than watakushi, yet still more polite than rest of the first pronouns. A standard, polite word for “I”, usable by both men and women in formal situations. It’s also fine for women in informal situations; a man who uses it in an informal context may come across as business-like or aloof, sometimes effeminate. In the case of children, watashi is often used by girls, but never by boys,
Uchi: Used in Kansai-ben, Osaka-ben and Kyushu dialect by women. Also used by middle schoolers or genki girls(remember Nozomi Tojo?). In standard Japanese it means ‘we’-for narrations and explanations. In dialogues, dachi(たち, 達) will be used to indicate plural.
Boku: Sounds more casual than watashi, but more polite than ore. Mostly used by man who want to sound casual without coming across as rude or aggressive. Also the default pronoun for young boys. When woman use it, it’s to emphasize the athletic genki girl trope or boyish/ftm crossdresser/androgynous trait. Used in lyrics quite often, since it has less syllables than watashi(bo/ku, wa/ta/shi), That means it can be gender neutral pronoun for lyrics.
Ore: Sounds more casual, almost rude, than boku. Used mainly by young men (from adolescence to around middle age, usually) in casual contexts. Traditionally considered rude to use it with strangers and people above one’s own social standing, but nowadays younger men use it even with strangers in all but formal situations. Typical pronoun for hot-blooded shounen manga protagonists-if you find a woman who uses this by any chance, the possibility is, she is yankee(like Oowada).
Oresama: Extremely narcissistic way to refer oneself. Attaching an honorific that indicates great respect to the most macho of first-person pronouns makes it a highly emphatic, arrogant and presumptuous version of ore. Used either tongue-in-cheek, or by the smuggest of men.
Second Person Pronouns:
Kimi: Default second pronoun in lyrics, same reason with boku(ki/mi, a/na/ta). Used to sound very polite, but informal to subordinates and affectionate in nowadays. Typically used among peers with boku. The kanji(君) is also used to write -kun.
Anata: Tend to be used by woman more than man. Can be default second pronoun for anyone. Might be to most accurate counterpart to English ‘you’, since it does not refer to particular person.
Anta: Variation/contraction of anata. Sounds more rude than anata, since it has a touch of contempt or anger.
Omae: Similar to anta, but used by men more often. Indicates the speaker’s higher status or age, or a very casual realationship among peers. Often associated with ore, just like kimi is to boku.
Onushi: Outdated version of omae. Used by elders or historical figures(ex: samurai, fictional ninja) toward people of equal or lower rank. Literally means ‘master’.
Temee: Really rude one. It’s rarely used unless the speaker is really infuriated.
Third Person Honorifics:
Kun: Used for young men. Commonly used to refer friends and peers.
San: Mister or Miss. Can be used to both man and woman.
Chan: Mostly used by children and women. Most characters who use this are naive and pure, but also can be sly and black hearted characters-bitch in sheep’s clothing in Tv Tropes term, ‘haraguro’ in Japanese term.
Important notes:
To make first and second pronouns plural(like you->y’all, tu->vous), add ra(ら) or tachi(たち) at the end. Examples: watashitachi(私たち), bokura(僕ら), anatatachi(あなたたち). However, ra is not used for anata.
Using third person usually gives childish, playful, quirky, or narcissistic vibes.
In spectrum of male-female: Oresama-Ore-Boku-Watashi-Uchi. Real life girls barely use Boku and Ore.
Katakana is used for 1)foreign words 2)emphasizing 3)onomatopoeia 4)character verbal tic for chara who’s not familiar with Japanese-such as robot, nonhuman, or foreigner.
In terms of ‘sound polite’: Kanji>Katakana>Hiragana. Japanese is a language where using a second pronoun can sound almost impolite, so people would refer others with their name(last name, to be specific)
You’ll never guess how much I hate myself
Why did I made myself suffer? Because I found some of the choices of pronouns interesting. For example, Momota and Ouma, two extreme opposites of the game(blind belief and distrust), are the only two who uses ore in katakana. Angie using Omae, not usual first-name basis, can be quite a surprise. And most importantly, original title of chapter 1, Me and my class trial(私と 僕の 学級裁判-Class Trial of me and me). 私(watashi) is Kaede's 1st pronoun, and 僕(boku) is Shuuichi's... you know what that means.
Who cares about stupid grammar anyway-have a great day everyone!

Why do you say Ouma is Kodaka's masterpiece?
This one has been sitting on my inbox for weeks because I’m lazy but every time I tried to answer it, I would get too sidetracked even by my standards. The thing is Ouma is too tied to the game’s core themes so I really can’t talk about him without without discussing the entire lie thematic and what is the game’s final say on the matter.
Let’s start from the conclusion: DanganRonpa V3 is a game about critical thinking. It’s not telling you the truth will help all the time nor it’s telling lies will help all the time. Everything has circunstances and you must think critically to discern what is real and what isn’t, then think critically again to respond accordingly. Trying to use the same answer to everything doesn’t work.
Let’s look back at Saihara’s entire character arc to see how that goes. Saihara one day found a murder case, did his detective thing and exposed the truth. When he learned the culprit’s motive, he immediately regretted what he did and became afraid of revealing the truth.
Come chapter 1, he meets Kaede, she tells him to act more like a detective and expose the truth. If you do Saihara’s Free Time in chapter, she even tells him to “stay a detective forever”. Then he what he was told to and regretted again, but understood it was necessary. Saihara takes her words to the heart without question. Then it begins what expect to be a story about Saihara growing to become a confident detective who always exposes the truth.
Chapter 2 happens and we see that was not the case. Saihara regrets exposing the truth again, this time believing let Toujou win the trial was the best choice (we know it wasn’t because of information from later chapters, but at point it was a question to ponder about).
Chapter 3 is where the regret pattern breaks. Revealing the truth here is undeniably the right thing. I don’t like how that was handled, but it was something necessary because the game is telling doing the same thing won’t always weild you the same results, so they had to a completely straightforward truth exposure at least once.
Chapter 4 demonstrates what I’m talking about not through Saihara’s character, but through Momota’s. Momota does the thing he always does without considering the circunstances and it works very different from how it worked before. Meanwhile, Saihara manages to get the right answer by analysing the circunstances and determined doing his usual (trusting Momota’s instincts) wouldn’t work this time.
Chapter 5 is the climatic moment of this arc, both for Momota and for Saihara. Momota stays mad at Saihara for a while but then apologizes, admitting he was wrong and learning his lesson. And Momota really proves he learned by accepting his straightforward solutions won’t end the game and agreeing to Ouma well thought out solution. Saihara, on other hand, is less quick to learn his lesson.
This particular moment of Saihara’s arc is what I mentioned before as the most interesting thing about Kaede’s role. You can’t deny how good she has been to him, but she is not perfect and the plot doesn’t make her immune to the critical thinking theme. The most notable thing here is what I mentioned above about his second Free Time. At this point, you should Saihara really doesn’t want to be a detective, so Kaede’s incentive is not something truly positive to him. Then there’s the part we see now in the main story.
Before the last Nonstop Debate of the trial, Saihara finally has his realization. He understood Momota and Ouma’s plan and realizes not exposing the truth was actually the key to victory. He spend the entire game so far following Kaede’s wish to expose the truth without thinking and now he sees there are times he should or shouldn’t expose everything. Unfortunately, his epyphany happened too late and the plan had already failed at this point.
That’s where I believe Saihara thought critically about Kaede’s words and picked apart the good parts (”Only people who know the truth can choose where fate goes next”, “I believe in you, so believe in yourself too”) from the bad parts (”I want to stay a detective forever”, “You don’t have to be afraid of exposing the truth”).
Chapter 6 is the post-climax of the personal arc. Saihara has already learned to think critically and that sometimes the truth is not the right answer, so he evaluates when which one is appropriate. That’s what leads him to his final argument: fiction can change reality. Lies are just as much thought material as the truth and if you truly think about, it can change your mindset even if you’re truly aware it’s a lie.
Now that we are done with this prologue longer than the actual answer, let’s get back to the real question: Ouma. Ouma is the perfect personification of the games truth vs lies themes. He refers to himself as a liar and everyone pretty much dismisses him as so, but once you replay after knowing him for real, you can notice he has much more sincere moments than you would expect. Ouma is the game’s main critical thinker, always evaluating when to lie and when to tell the truth.
Not only that, but he is also a character that requires a lot of critical thinking both from the player and from the characters. He’s got his moments hinting at the cast to question whether or not cooperation would work, whether or not the remembering lights were real and challenging the way they act in the Class Trials.
To top it of, before the DICE video revealed his true character, Ouma’s character fully allowed double interpretation. If you believed he a scared kid playing villain in an attempt to survive, you could find lots of meaningful evidence. If you believed he was a truly an evil kid who enjoyed watching people suffer, there was lots of evidence for that too. He was like two character written in one until that reveal told which one was the right one.

Jess’s Thoughts on V3: Chapter 1
Sorry I lapsed on my liveblog, but until my girlfriend headed home I didn’t have a lot of time to play so I was getting outstripped by the stream. Speaking of, I should probably get this post done before tonight, on the off-chance we finish the trial (HAHA).
Will try to resume liveblogging starting with Chapter 2.
Beware of spoilers!!
Still feeling pretty fuzzy and blah in the head, so going to do this bullet point style like the good ol’ DR3 days, haha.
First, the ivory (and ebony) in the room: yeah, I’m pretty pissed that instead of a character way more relatable to me, I’m once again shackled to some wimpy loser boy with insecurity issues. Kodaka, I get that that’s how you were in high school but come on, man. I’m here for newness. I am also neither a boy nor a wimpy loser (my insecurities manifest through overachieving rather than uber moe shyness) so I’m getting awful tired of this trope. RIP Akamatsu Kaede. You had just a touch too much personality to be a DR protag.
That said, I do think that the case was really well designed and even though I figured it out pretty soon into the trial (I was sitting there for most of it screaming 自動的に!じ・ど・う・て・き・に!!! while they were discussing how someone could have killed Amami), the mystery itself was set up really well.
I also liked that the game took care to actually address the question of “Why didn’t you confess immediately?” and “Why tease the answer out of us instead of just admitting it?” since those were also things that bothered me in the so-called “heroic” cases in games past.
I’m also pretty annoyed that my favorite Monokumar is gone now too, but Monodam is quickly endearing himself to me anyway so it’s fine. RIP Monokid. I will scream HERU YEAH! in your place for the remainder of the game.
Man, you know what would have been really great? Changing the protag to Hoshi. Then you could drop the first person view to the weirdly short one from DR1 and SDR2 and it could be like an in joke. Take notes, Kodaka.
Oh right, I didn’t say anything about Amami being the victim yet. Since he was toward the bottom of my character ranking I wasn’t too broken up about it, and I accept the sacrifice of Green Komaeda as payment for me giving up Akamatsu. This at least seems somewhat fair.
My other faves though (HaruMaki, Hoshi, Toujou, Gokuhara, and Iruma) are all still alive for the time being, so yay!
Damn, dat execution though. I loved it--it was brutal and more realistic than most of the others, but still with some of the grandiosity you’d expect from DR-style executions.
I don’t hate Saihara, but I do find him pretty bland so far, especially compared to the rest of the cast. I liked when he went to the piano room to listen to the CD, but other than that I know next to nothing about him despite him being attached to my hip for most of the game so far. I was hoping that his hat was like a treasured gift from someone but no, it’s just because of his guilt over essentially solving a Duel Noir once. His hang up is not being confident in himself. Pretty yawn-worthy. So far he feels like a waste of a really cool design and a fantastic seiyuu. Hopefully he’ll get better as the game goes on.
The part post-trial where someone (HaruMaki?) asks if Monokuma hates them and Monokuma responds “Hate you? Hrm, who knows” reminds me a lot of Junko’s “I love you all so much I wanted you to share my exquisite despair” motivations so I’m pretty excited by that.
On that subject, I found Shirogane’s allergic reaction to cosplaying real people hilarious, and it makes me wonder if the Kibougamine-verse counts as real or fictional in the V3 world. Fingers are still crossed for Junko cosplay.
Chabashira isn’t too bad with her misandry, actually, which is a relief. It’s way more toned down than I thought it’d be.
Kinda want to see what would happen to either Ouma or Kiibo if one or the other died. I get that I’m supposed to take the Monodam killing Monokid thing as foreshadowing, but it feels kind of red herring-esque to me.
Momota is pretty damn likable.
I loved the Monokuma Theater segments this time, especially the backdrops. The fact that the old timey one had a tiny image of Celes on the card was fantastic.
Am now the not-so-proud owner of several gyouza in the shape of Naegi’s face. No really, I have SO MANY.
I imagine some people will take/have taken this chapter really hard because of their shipping walls and to that I say: who cares, ship what you want. I plan to. Don’t worry too much about your ship not being canon because seriously people, it doesn’t really matter.
tl;dr, I’m disappointed in that I lost two characters I like and they’re forcing me to play as the living character I’m least invested in, but the writing is still solid and I’m interested to see where things go.
BOLD PREDICTIONS!
It’s still possible that this is all just a dream or a hallucination. “It was all a dream” is a stupid twist right up there with “My evil twin did it” and “The Matrix” from previous games after all.
Still nothing to suggest that the new cast aren’t reincarnations or relatives of the existing cast, which if things go in that direction, I hope they choose to do it in an interesting way at least.
I am crazy suspicious of both Angie and Shirogane. The former because she’s a ditz and you first find her in the Altar of Judgement, and the latter because she has this uncanny ability to pop up right around when discussion of the mastermind is happening. Like, Saihara says that he was wrong in his deduction and Shirogane is immediately like “So the mastermind isn’t someone among us???” Stuff like that. In addition, there was that bonus scene with the nail brush you get for having played the demo, which yes gives both Akamatsu and Amami more screentime, but it also randomly involves Shirogane?
Still think that all these kids could have been picked up from various points in time and possibly space.
Also kind of thinking it’d be funny if it were like...Junko writing fanfiction or something. That’d be pretty fantastic.
Oh yeah! My “it’s an rp” idea is still on the table as well.
Anyway, that’s about it I think? Thanks for reading!
