Decided to watch Hazbin Hotel…..(only because I hard that Jeremy Jordan is Lucifer va…..and also because i am a hater™️)

Pilot

Pilot Charlie voice is so pretty. God the angels designs remind me of those weird The Purge neon mask…forget how red this pilot is..there is a lot of random sounds effects, it feels a tinnnyyyyyy bit to much. Pilot angels voice <3 snake guy voice so SO familiar????? I feel like he was in a video game or something. Hmm I forgot how much cursing there is…minor pet peeve, sometimes the lineart is hot pink and it’s kind of annoying since it sticks out against black lineart, also there SO many eyes, everywhere? Idk if that a fun little quirk or lore™️ that one news reporter being on fire made me laugh.. I like the mixed art style when Vaggie talks about Alastor, it’s charming. Hmmm, radio sound effects, love them <3

I think it’s cool that Charlie is a very sweet, kind of “childish” Nieves princess in a world full of murder and hate and violence. It makes me wonder how she got that way? Also hell is overpopulated so the angels kill them. Interesting!! Especially since lot of demons also fight over territory. This Katie killjoy does have a point, why would sinners want to change? Beside the killing, it seems like hell is basically Earth 2.0.. It is cool how Alastor the radio demon, decided to help out because he’s bored.

Episode 1

Ok, so the intro says that the angels have an extermination because they don’t want Hell to rise up. But in the pilot it was because of overpopulation…Also Lucifer not liking hell and can no longer dream, while Lilith thrives…hmmm if this story has Lilith be evil while Lucifer is good idk how to feel about that. The voices are different, while I don’t like Charlie’s new voice (sounds to idk deep?) I definitely like Vaggies, it’s deep and a bit monotone. Also new outfits!!! Charlie’s is fine, but I don’t like how sharp her face is? So look more older and mature compared to her pilot self, which add the whole naive princess feel. It’s canonically 5days to a week between the events of the pilot and the first episode…oh ew I hate Angels voice. It’s too high, and he has an accent now??? Oh Husk voice!! While is deep, it’s also high? No longer gruff.. hmm character wise, angels seem more bitchy?? Then the pilot?

Ok…random song???? Just…no build up music or anything.. Charlie curses more too. In the pilot she curse like, 3 times. Here she does it more.

There is a giant clock tower thing that went you go in, leases to a lobby then leads to the angels???? Wouldn’t that make it like, easier to attack heaven or something? Why is an Angel, like the heaven angel, cursing?? I feel like that would be against the rules?? WAIT THATS ADAM LIKE FIRST HUMAN ADAM???? Oh no that worse… like like nifty she’s a cutiepie :)

Ok Hell is still overpopulated, and heaven keeps killing then because they think he’ll will overpower them, but Adam does it for entertainment? Hmmm they also going to kill again in 6 months. :/ Katie killjoy voice is also bad.. oh!!! Wait Adam lied, the real reason heaven is killing again because an Angel was killed? But an angel was never killed before??? I thought hell was very powerful?

Episode rating 1-5. I give it a 3. I like the singing, love Vaggies and Alastor’s dynamic. But the plot is a bit confusing? Is hell being kill because of overpowered or because of overpopulated? The hotel design is pretty. Though he’ll is still red :/

Episode 2

Why is hell citizen freaking out? In the pilot it seems like they like it, because people can fight over territory. And an angel was murder, so ??? Don’t see why they would panic.

The Vees. Vox, a tv head demon who is like a weird Amazon business guy. His design is…clutter. Dude, striped jacket with vertical stripes shirt? Tho thank god he’s blue, he sticks out nicely in hell. I like his blue neon eyeliner, that cool. Velvet is a British fashion designer….shes fine. I don’t really care for her. And Valentino, who’s is Angel’s boss/pimp. And oh my gosh whose voice, his accent keeps coming and going??? It’s bad I hate it, because it’s so noticeable. Interesting that he’s Spainish(?)

Vox can hypnotize people and he did a cool tv voice effect!! Oh god I think I have a favorite character??? Vox and nifty…

Ok ok ok, so there a radio demon, a tv demon, is there a computer/internet demon??? God I hope so. Imagine if there an internet demon and vox and alastor has to like put aside there differences and work together.

Why is there Egyptian demons???? Ancient Egyptian believed in an underworld called Duat, but it’s not a place of external punishment. The ancient Egyptian thought the worst punishment a soul could have would be denial to the afterlife, and being ceased to exist. The souls did have to make a dangerous journey to be judged by Horus and Osiris. (Wiki)

Vox asked Alastor to join his team?? Maybe Vox doesn’t like Velvet and Valitini that much? He seems more like a boss to them than a friend.

“And that’s the tea” :/ Why is Alastair using slang from after the 20’s? I mean sure he probably learn it in hell. But Alastor is like from 1920. That’s the tea/spilling tea is original from drag culture in 1994.

What IS Charlie’s plan to redeems sinners? Charlie was born in hell, and the sinner were from earth, surely the sinner like, know how to apologize and basic human decency? Maybe they just forgot? Maybe they need to like, clean themselves of their sin??? Idk.

Oh my god Charlie is having them do a say no to drugs roleplay!!!! ……that. Akers me wonder, how does Charlie’s know this stuff if she’s from hell? Does she learn this by watching the sinners? Did her mom or dad teach her this??? Ok, so I have seen the pilot and that seen post about that one comic about angel day to day life, and seen the addic music video. So it’s a surprise that Fat Nuggets, Angle’s pet pig is here. And that weird red smoke.

I don’t care for snake guy. He’s…neutral. Kind of suck that who snake guy being a spy was like, immediately uncovered. Kind of wished that angle was get like bummed out about the attention snake guy is getting, then later he would like, try to find out what is going on. Or something!!! But I guess having snake guy be an actual member of the team is fine. Tho, I do like his design. It’s nice to see characters that aren’t so red. Angel’s and Vaggie’s singing voice harmonies really well. Ok, this is like the first sign I actually enjoy.

Scale 1-5. I give it a 4. Only because of Vox, and that ending song.

Episode 3

Snake guy wanting to shoot the other residents because he thinks everyone is to nice and it’s a lie. That…that surprisingly a deep thought? Like I didn’t expect the show to have the residents not trust one another because they are waiting for the other shoe to drop. Also it seems like Vaggie and Alastair run the hotel, like doing up with the ad, making rules. Seems like Charlie is just the face/money aspect of the hotel. My guess is that in the future Charlie wants to quit, or is forced to to quit, and Vaggie take over, or gives like, an emotional speech about how the hotel and running it charge her for the better.

I remover in the pilot, or around that time, Alastor is aroace (nice) but I don’t remember what Vaggie is. But I can see people shipping them. For me, I could see then being close friends or maybe a weird ambiguous relationship.

Charlie you kind of a shitty boss. Like, I know I just said that vaggie does all the work, but girl, you have to do some work to?

Idk why, but velvet sing reminds me of SIX the musical. But I know that her VA is Lily Cooper who did the SpongeBob musical and wicked , and not SIX.

Why is this lady’s earring hanging off her hair??? Do sinner/demons/whatever not have ears or noses?? Eghh I don’t like her singing?? It feel like she’s straining herself.

Episode 4

Oh dear, I hard LOT of bad things with this episode…let’s see how bad it is.

Charlie get gross out by the sex tape….asexual Charlie real. To me!!!! Also same, Charlie, same.

Angel panicking about Charlie trying to talk to his boss. I’m guessing he’s afraid that if Charlie accidentally angers Val, Val will take his anger out on Angel. :(

Oh cool. Val hit angel. Wow!! (Sarcasm) Totally wish there was like, a warning or something for that!!!!

Hmm ok. So that song was…bad. Like lyrically bad. As for the scenes, I literally don’t know how to feel about them? Like knowing the backstories of this episode, it grosses me out. But the song and scenes, just didn’t feel anything? Idk.

I don’t think husk should get angel back?? Angel was sexually harassed him, and husk has repeatedly said no. Like yeah, angel did that has a bad coping mechanisms or like, persona, but hmmm. I feel like if they two need to talk to each other, it could be in a different way? Also I noticed this episode is SUPER short compared to the other ones. The other once’s are like 22 minutes, this one is 12.

Oh cool, husk stoped angel from getting roofied. I guess with him being a bartender, he’s train to watch out of these things.

Husk singing voice is so so nice <3 but WOW is this message a bad one. Angel sold his soul to Val, and Val abuses him. Angel then self destruct because he thinks if he (angel) is broken enough then Val will let him go. Meanwhile…..Husk was an overlord who gamble and lost his soul to Alastor…..these 2 problems don’t equal each other. One is horrible, and one is a bummer situation. Also the message for being at rock bottom, together, maybe he helped to some people, but I think in Angel’s case he needs different help. Like sometimes when people act worse with each other, it can make people not want to get better or encourage someone to get worse. I feel like that what husk and angel dynamic is?

For some reason I feel like Charlie was written really out of character here??? She crying and had to be carried away. It feels very weird.

I heard that episode 5 and 6 are coming soon. Will I seen them, probably. Do I enjoy this show? Not really. The concept is cool! And like, only 3 characters I enjoy. But I feel like the way this is handled is bad. On Prime Video this show is 18+. Honestly, this show feels more like TV-14 - TV-MA. TV 14 is decried as intended for children ages 14 and up in company of an adult. It possibly contains suggesting dialogue, strong language, intense sexual situations, or intense violence.

TV MA is for adults. It possibly contains crude indecent language, explicit sexual activity, or graphic violence. On IMDb Hazbin Hotel has 19 sex and nudity, 14 gore and violence, 9 profanity, 10 alcohol, drugs and smoking, 9 fighting and intense scenes. On HBO MAX it’s 18+, TVMA, when video version, and 16+ on YouTube. So like, who is this show for???

Magellany (Redo) (Nebulite)

Move out of the way, here comes the greatest adventurer in the whole damn galaxy: Magellany!

"Just call me Mag!"

She is brave, strong and... acts before thinking. She gets irritated easily, especially when people get in her way, calling them get-in-the-ways. Magellany is very rude and honest, never holding back on any comments.

She is a Nebulite, a peculiar species of sentient nebulae. Her body composition makes it possible to morph into any form as she wishes. She is not confined to a humanoid body. Her preferred weapon is her trusty Scimistar.

This magical sword is a projection of her soul which is located on her chest, in the shape of a crystal. Her power comes from this object and is also her weak point.

Nebulites have incredible capabilities for Cosmic Magic. While not on the same level as someone like Mr. Sky, they are capable of creating spontaneous life. They do so to help with tasks or do jobs that might be dangerous for them. These rudimentary organisms can last as long as the user needs them to. Their intelligence is very limited though.

She is not good with this ability though since nobody taught her and so the most she can do is use raw life energy to create primitive beings that she uses as weapons.

In Soul Trail, her special attack is making a little dude that goes in a straight line and damages far away opponents. Once I restart development I plan on adding more of this ability to her move set.

She claims to hear voices from space. Her favorite animals are tarantulas and she really likes long sleeved clothing along with robes.

Backstory

She lives in a solitary planet with her older sister, Nube. Their parents are long gone and so her sister takes care of her and usually does what is best for her. Mag attends navigation classes at some kind of academy and she hates it there. Often daydreaming of what could be is she were able to sail out into space on a ship of her own with treasures to find, foes to defeat, and people to befriend. All in her own way without anyone telling her what to do.

Beneath all her harshness hides a lonely girl who only wants friends and a life she can have control over. Her short-lived creations are the only creatures who stay by her side.

Her creations only live for minutes. She likes to sit on the roof of her house and talk to them

One day something really big would happen that would change her whole life...

Inspiration

As mentioned in the post, she is a nebula; a space cloud. She is meant to be the Magellanic Cloud (hence her name) and her coloration is taken from NGC 2074. The powers Nebulites have of creating life is a reference to how all planets are born from nebulae, this could eventually lead to the creation of life within these planets.

She was the first character made for this project and has gone through some changes over the years.

As for her clothes and design, I was really into Kirby at the time and so many of my early designs sort of looked like spacey Kirby-ish inspired creatures.

Also if chara is fed up with frisk, how does frisk feel about it? Or feel about chara overall?

nope they don’t have much that differs from canon except the clear outfit changes and character development. Cause it’s rlly just undertale 7 years in the future with a fucked up timeline.

Let’s see, if there’s someone i had to name changed personality wise it’s flowey. He’s not the same as canon; far off. He’s kinda like in a way depressed? He appeared like once early in the story to try and get Frisk to reset and give up. That didn’t work and he’s kinda turned into this like shadow. He used to follow Frisk around because of interest, but now his whole existence is like miserable. He doesn’t have reset save and load anymore, he isn’t the power he once was. And now here he is being tormented by this fucking timeline. So yea, character who’s changed the most is prolly flowey.

Frisk didn’t find out what Chara was tryna do yet. But she’s well aware that Chara doesn’t like her. Frisk doesn’t hateee Chara, but she holds a slight resentment for him because he’s a reminder. Reminder of her grim past just like Flowey. Plus; Chara is very moody and does not hide the fact he detests Frisk. He’s always snakily remarking some insult in her ear whenever she does an “impure” action. Frisk overall just tries to ignore Chara because she doesn’t see any reason to hate him. If anything, Frisk is also annoyed with Chara because he’s such a hypocrite. He had literally been the one to lead her on the genocide when she first began,, LITERALLY THE ONE SUPPORTING HER. But look at them now, now they’ve switched up and are putting all fingers on Frisk. Frisk feels like he’s constantly egging on her despite his own wrongdoings. So it’s not a mutual dislike, more like; Frisk wants to make things right and Chara couldn’t care less for what she wants to do. Frisk tries to reason with Chara like very often, to try and look for his advice so he feels like he has a choice and isn’t just a ghost. Because well, she’s the only one who can see him. Chara doesn’t give actual advice; He’s more like a “dumbass just figure it was out” type of guy. Anyways, I’ll definitely ask the creator of Frisk for more info so you can get an actual rant :3 (no i didnt create Frisk, i made the design for them. I was the one who made Chara tho!!)

And, no they don’t share a soul or DT. Chara is looking to leech off that determination so he can have a soul of his own and ERASE the timeline. Chara is only able to be there because he’s leeching off Frisk’s determination. If he wasn’t doing that, he’d also wouldn’t have been around so often. But, little fun fact!’ His locket has a tiny bit of DT that he stole from Frisk. If you look at the arts i think you can see the red at the bottom, or like he’s holding it when she’s looking o forgot.

This is the behind the scenes work-in-progress overview for fight / flight part 4! (part of the YYH North Bound prequel project)

I finally got around to scanning the thumbnails for this part! I remembered to do this mainly because part 5 (which is also the final part of this story in the North Bound series!) will be posted here soon.

Because it's been so long since I worked on part 4, I don't have as much to say compared to previous behind the scenes posts. Basically time heals all wounds (or at least these ones) and thus I forgot all the details of my screaming/crying/complaining, hahaha. That and possibly because this part was "only" 6 pages.

Character design commentary and more sketches

For part 4, I had designed a new character who didn't already exist in Yu Yu Hakusho.    

The second drawing above (with the Chinese characters, just my calligraphy practice on the same page) was actually from pretty far back, I was thinking about her (and her dialogue) for a while. You can see I was playing a lot with the design of her face, how old she might look, and how I might distinguish her from other female characters and Spirit World guides, especially with the stylizing of her eyes. 

Outfit-wise I don't think she's that unique as far as classical sky maiden-type designs go, but I do enjoy drawing her hair. I gave her a beauty mark at the last second while inking the comic.

Here are all of the page sketches - without the text, followed by more commentary.

Comparing my thumbnails to my sketches, there wasn't much change.

The "Otake, stand down" tennyo descending page got adjusted a bit with a close up of her lips for her dialogue. I still feel a bit ambivalent about the composition, whether I should have positioned her higher, but I like the feeling of descent and the fluttering of her hagoromo.

Second last page, second panel after Otake says "hmph" - I took so long working on this that the doodle in my page sketch was undecipherable to me, and I was at a complete loss as to what on earth I had been intending. Fortunately, my script at this part said "sheathes his sword" which saved me. Though, if I had bothered going back to look at my thumbnails, I would have realized my thumbnail of this action was ten times clearer than my page sketch.

Other comments:

First page, large panel with the sparkle of the tennyo appearing - I had a heck of a time with the forest background on this one. Blob blob blob it seems serviceable enough. Like I've said before, my environments are mostly rough vibes, haha.

"EUGH YUCK GROSS" page - I had a lot of fun with the tennyo's expressions, and I really like how Otake's face turned out in the last panel. Drawing annoyed people with bloody faces is fun!

Last two pages: I was very proud of how Tomoe turned out on these two pages, her looking up poses. I also was pleased with the forest in the last panel. More vibes!

the youngest linagram prisoner is here!! i love his t2 design a lot actually. though i love his design in general. i love this cute purple boi. his t2 mv makes me so scared of him

btw i wanna apologize if the profiles look "inconsistent", this is gonna sound weird, but i worked on everything, including the profiles, the vds, the mv descriptions, etc, for a couple months and it's like, basically if i had some free time, i worked on those things, so i had some things in my phone notes, if i had my tablet with me, i wrote something in my notes there, if i wasn't having any problems with my computer, i used it instead. i know that it would make much more sense to just have everything in one place, but because of some stuff, i wasn't able to do it that way. i often forget to edit some things, like i forgot that i don't need to write "kei's t2 profile" in his profile and i also forgot to change "non-deco*27 cover" to "different vocaloid producer cover" in eiko's profile. also my computer keyboard is kinda broken which. makes things a lot harder to write and even though i have a second one, IT'S ALSO BROKEN AND IT'S EVEN WORSE. sooooo uhhhh yeah sorry djsksksls

General info.

T1 Verdict: Asahi was voted innocent and he sure was happy with his verdict! Haha, he totally expected to be forgiven, no, he knew that he's gonna be forgiven. I mean, they had to forgive a child, they wouldn't punish someone as young as him, right? Asahi's hair grew a little bit longer between trials, so he got a new hairstyle. He also got a new outfit, though it's kind of similar to his T1 one. Even though he was voted innocent, he still has a bandaid under his right eye because of Yurika's attack and yes, it's definitely not as serious as Akio and Kei's injuries, but he still likes to remind everyone how much of a victim he is. Like, look at him, how dare Yurika hurt a poor child like him? He got a few other scratches because of her, but they have already healed and there's only one left now.

T2 Personality: Asahi, surprisingly, is more polite now and he doesn't swear as often as he used to. At least that's what it seems like on the outside. Asahi is happy that he got forgiven, but he's secretly very afraid of being voted guilty this time, so.. Why not start acting like an even more "cute" version of himself? People will love him more if he starts acting nicer and more obedient, right? It doesn't mean that he really is nicer now though. When nobody else is around, he will gladly make fun of the guilty prisoners, go back to his usual manner of speaking and bully those who are even weaker than him. And if anyone even tries to accuse him, he will start crying and claiming that this never happened. And well, Miki can't help but forgive him again and again, even though this kid is trying to manipulate not only the guards, but also the other prisoners. He even steals food and other things from the guilty prisoners. He doesn't even need those things, he just does it because.. uh.. because.. Well, because he deserves them!

T2 Relationship dynamics:

Yeah, Naomi and Asahi's relationship is.. not good, to say the least. It's very sad to think about, when you remember how much Asahi wants a mother figure and kinda expects Naomi to become one, but she's not interested in that at all and clearly hates the kid. So no matter how hard Asahi tries to make her like him, she just ends up hating him even more. Honestly, if it wasn't for the guards, she would've probably already killed him, he annoys her that much.

Obviously, Asahi dislikes Yurika now, and when other people are around, he doesn't hesitate to remind them how bad she is and how he's still in "so much pain because of her". However, when there is only Yurika around, Asahi suddenly stops acting so brave and tries his best to avoid her. He knows that Yurika isn't afraid of the guards, so even if they try to stop her, she will attack anyone who makes her angry.

If Naomi and Asahi's dynamic makes you sad, don't worry, because Eiji and Asahi both hate each other equally! <3 Eiji hates him because he still finds him annoying and suspicious and he doubts that Asahi deserved to be forgiven, but he can't say anything because he's Miki's brother. Meanwhile Asahi is very protective of Miki and he thinks that Eiji will end up hurting her one day, so he keeps his eye on him and sometimes purposefully asks Miki to hang out with him so that she doesn't have to spend time with Eiji. Both of them hate each other, but for Miki's sake, they try to hide it.

Asahi likes Miki so much, even though it may not be obvious because of his personality, but he does. He may ask her to spend time with him so that she stays away from Eiji (but also so that he can show Eiji that "she likes Asahi more"), but sometimes he actually wants to help her feel better. He can even share his food with her sometimes or ask her to play with him. Yes, Asahi is a terrible and very annoying kid, but he's also still just a kid.

Music info.

Milgram cover: All-Knowing All-Agony. (HE LITERALLY HAS AN IMAGINARY MOTHER. HE NEEDS HELP. But also he's scared of not being forgiven this time, so some lyrics describe that as well.)

DECO*27 cover: Fakery Tale. (I just think this song would sound very cute and soft (but also sad) as his cover.. Like I kinda imagine it sounding like a lullaby even?? (The instrumental would most likely be different in this case, probably a music box cover) But also some lyrics actually fit him and his backstory (and crime) a lot, like "a slightly lonely place, a somewhat kind and gentle one as well, I want to go there", "don't cry with that ashamed face, I want to forget it all and go back, I beg of you" and "I'll see you later, let's surely meet here someday, until then, good night". It makes me very sad to think about the last lyrics ("That body of mine disappeared, well then, where shall I go?"), because Asahi was kicked out of his new home by his adoptive father and he just.. walked, trying to find a place to stay or someone to ask for help. It's even more difficult than it already sounds, because his biological parents are dead and his adoptive mother as well, meanwhile his adoptive father doesn't want to do anything with him for a good reason. So.. yeah, he really had nowhere to go. It's highly possible that if he wasn't able to get any help before getting kidnapped and being brought to Milgram, he would've died of starvation or some other reasons (he could easily end up in a lot of dangerous situations because of his mental state), which makes him being the most demanding prisoner more understandable and really sad.)

Trivia:

Asahi's second image color was chosen because of his hair color.

As you've probably already guessed, Asahi really wants to be forgiven again, though it's hard to say if that will happen, considering his behavior.

Speaking of his verdict, interestingly, his VD shows him in a much more innocent light, but his MV shows him in a more guilty light and the ending is particularly creepy. It's like the opposite version of Kei's situation, because I personally think his VD still shows him as someone who's more "guilty" and his MV definitely shows him as someone who's more "innocent".

He's actually gonna reveal a lot about his murder this time!

Since Asahi's thoughts were affirmed, this is one of the reasons why he tries to act more "cute" and "soft" this time. To be honest, he thinks that he got forgiven only because he's a cute child and not because of his crime being understandable and something that can be forgiven, so.. yeah 😔

It may look like he has dark circles, but no, that's just the shading, haha. Though I think it would be fitting for him to have those, because he's not doing so well mentally, even though he was forgiven.

I already had a tendency to favor pairings with opposite rival characters that work well together, so REALLY, I was no match, it was inevitable

1. Patho 1 Rubin

I LOVE PATHO 1 RUBIN DESIGN SO MUCH, THE LEATHER DADDY LOOK IS SO GOOD FOR HIM, and compared to his stoic, straightforward, no nonsense attitude, it’s just SO FUNNY 

I have a theory that he would make a really good fashion model, but I’m waiting to have a proper doodle dump before I drop that on everyone 

The Patho 2 redesign was such a nerf, I will never forgive them

2. Patho 2 Artemy

I like his green smock! And I love the leather shoulder bits, the straps, the big kangaroo pouch, the thigh pouches, his hood and the fashionable boots

I enjoy coloring this outfit, it’s functional and not too much 

3. Patho 2 Daniil

This outfit inspires the urge to grab him by the scruff and shake him. Normally I’m a stickler for accuracy, but I refuse to draw his stupid asymmetrical coat collars. WHY TAKE THE MOST FASHIONBLE PART OF THE COAT AND DO IT LIKE THAT? I’m also not the biggest fan of his shoes, but I’m biased because I love drawing dress shoes. I do not enjoy coloring his outfit, the amount of layers I have to use is ridiculous 

I do like the little half-cape thing though, that’s very fashionable, and his STUPID LIL SNAKE BELT BUCKLE

I will say, the fact that his outfit is so extra and infuriating to some extent is perfect for the little hiss hiss, so quality design from me 

4. Patho 2 Notkin

I like his outfit a lot, there’s sort of a punk(?) quality to it

He very much crafted a look for himself with whatever he could get his hands on, and he made it work. I would wear this 

5. Patho 1 Anna Angel 

WHAT AN OUTFIT, look at those gold and red accents and those thigh high boots, the DRAMA

This is so high fashion, I can easily see this on a modern runway

The Patho 2 redesign was also a disappointment I can’t forgive 

6. I have to mention Patho 2 Andrey

They fact they kept him mostly the same except they took his shirt off was such a bold design choice, I am 100 percent onboard with this

beat Forspoken, and while I probably will write an in-depth review down the line cuz i have many thoughts, I'm just going to pointform my basic thoughts while it's still fresh.

PROS

Great designs all around, the Tantas look so breathtaking with their extravagant designs and yet it doesn't take away from their world, it fits just right in. Absolutely love it.

Good world building most questions i had were answered either through the main story or extra archive stuff. Nothing felt too weird yknow

Gameplay gameplay gameplay. The magic system is literally amazing. I dont think I've had this much fun fighting in an rpg in a long time. Theres so much fun variety so you can focus on whats comfortable for you while also looking sick as fuck. Have i mentioned how good the battle system is cuz i avoid playing mage in every game because its such a slog but here its so fast paced and hits hard. Perfect for me.

The music is soooo good, I love the main theme and find myself humming it literally all the time.

Great graphics but maybe a lil too many particle effects but otherwise really pretty.

The story is technically a pro. Like its good, not bad, not great, just good. Basically something you'd find in the YA Fantasy section, thats the kinda quality it was. Which isn't a insult I did enjoy the story and characters. It just needed polish, fix up the dialogue and trim some of the story fat and i wouldn't have any complaints tbh. Probably would do better as a book series tho ngl, not sure what game format would have saved it.

Shoutout to the accessibility options. I'm glad more games are including these. I'll never understand complaints about them though, like just dont use them if you dont want/need to thats it.

ALMOST FORGOT THE COOLEST THING. THE NAILS. I'm sorry but the idea of using nail art to inscribe magic runes to give you buffs is the coolest fucking idea ever, why has this concept not been used till now. We always see rune tatoos or written on gear and stuff im fantasy media but this is such a neat ideaaaa and im forever thankful for it. Her capes are cool too I guess, with there was more variety rather than recolors tho. Kinda wish we could also get different outfits for her tho. Those jeans probably chafe.

CONS

THE OPEN WORLD IS SO BIG FOR NO GODDAMN REASON. I honestly wish this wasn't an open world game tbh, its so unnecessary. Halfway through the game, i got so frustrated and ignored everything that wasn't story points cuz getting everywhere takes so damn long, especially early on when you dont have fancy parkour or stamina. Easily its biggest fault for me.

I understand they thought it'd do way better than what happened but planning out a story as a trilogy in the gaming industry is not a smart move. I've yet to play the dlc so idk if we get closure but the loose ends werent a great way for the game to end.

Oh, the dialogue. Its easily one of the gamest weakest points. Like the type of dialogue i was writing in my original stories when i was 13 (not that ive gotten any better tbh). Basically, it's not what you expect from such a vaunted company. Frey is great when shes excited or angry, which is most of the time, but occasionally, they'll hit me with the cheesiest line I've heard in years, and idk how to handle it. Like the stuff she says in the final chapter is honestly so robotic, there is no natural flow present. Which is a pity cuz the actress was killing it tbh, like she definitely carried the lines with her emotion. Unfortunately, it couldn't save them. Like if it was something they dropped on ps3 or wii, it honestly would have done fine. What i mean to say is the dialogue is very outdated in this age of gaming. im actually surprised how out of touch it feels. Especially since otherwise its a solid game all around. Regarding Cuff and Frey banter you do have the option to make it less frequent or just turn it off but i never really found them annoying regardless.

Maybe its just me but the control scheme feels so weird, the games makes you feel like you should be gliding most of the time but holding O while spaming all those trigger buttons feels so awkward to me. But then again I also didnt care enough to change the control scheme so.

How can I find plans for the first Adrinette meeting with Marc and Nathan and nothing about the Diamond Dance? I know I got told about it!

Oh yeah, I forgot that Zoe isn't listed as a Bourgeois. No wonder the guards don't look twice, they have no idea who she is. Everyone else in this picture is almost entirely to aware that Marinette should not be here. Probably should have waited a bit Marinette. If you were lucky Gabriel would have left Nathalie to deal with things while he went to scold his son- I mean, help him get ready. Although Marinette is very lucky that her and Zoe are almost exactly the same dress size... Don't ask how I know that.

So Marinette hides, I forget how sneaky she can be despite her clumsiness, and Adrien is phoning this line in so badly it hurts to listen to. Ms Tsurugi is blind Adrien, not deaf. Plus you don't have to sound so despondent, that can't be good for Kagami's self worth either. You've had fun with her before. Honestly his entire voice just sounds off. If I didn't know any better I'd say that... Oh.

And here he is reacting weirdly to Kagami's ring. Either there's a picture of it somewhere in the Agreste household that I never noticed or... *Smirks*

Well that's nothing new. Also Felix has been missing for weeks? That can't be right. It can't have been that long since I saw him in London... Forget I said that. Oh, also Kagami seems to know that something is up with Adrien as well.

You know I don't know whether to be annoyed at naive security guards. Or happy that, even with Monarch, the majority of Paris is still so kind and trusting. Who knows, maybe he's so good at his job he can tell that Marinette isn't going to be causing trouble so he doesn't see her as suspicious... I can relate to that.

Okay I actually won't be yelling at Chloe's stupidity here. With her hair up Marinette looks more like her friend Fei from Shanghai so I can buy this working. Especially since I'm so focused on why everything is so white! I get it's a Diamond Dance and that's Gabriel's new thing but everyone seems to be wearing the same outfit! Is he or is he not the "greatest fashion designer in the world". Also isn't Kagami meant to be wearing red? Is it just so she stands out as a queen? I don't recall Adrien wearing anything specials from the pictures I got... The pictures! One sec!

Ok so, one of the best dates (in my opinion) is going to build a bear and each getting a bear! Like picking em out together n doing the little heart ceremony (and also putting scents in I love the scentss) putting the hearts in each others bears bc love~ picking out their clothes together, naming em, then afterwards grabbing something to eat! (Taking a picture together n setting it as your lockscreen) its wonderful and you get a bear to remind you of your partner!! 10/10!! -Scooby

jason voorhees 

this boy will dead ass put on his best clothes , his gloves , a hat , a face mask , sunglasses , and come to build a bear with you . he may not speak but fuck he is so excited to do this with you , and you look so fucking happy and excited . he will without a doubt do everything with such dedication and seriousness during the heart ceremony that the bear builder is a bit nervous . he gets his build a bear soft , barely stuffed so that it falls over when it’s sitting . he picks out an outfit similar to his , a bit sad there is no mask or little machete . he’s having so much fun and you can tell . and oh god , there’s little kids who can’t quite reach things and he is helping them , and somehow there are now two kids sitting on either side of him helping him make his birth certificate for his new stuffed animal and jason is just so happy and enjoying himself despite the fact that the children’s mothers look slightly terrified . he ends up naming his bear mr fluffington due to the help of the children who decided jason was their new best friend . the cashier takes a picture of you on the polaroid and jason is very happy with it . he may or may not make a small machete for mr fluffington so he can gaurd the cabin . 

michael myers 

somehow you got michael maskless and dressed in normal people clothes and inside of a mall . he’s intimidating , hair pulled back into a messy bun , face full of stubble , blue eyes cutting into everything and everyone . he doesn’t seem to care , picking his build a bear after staring at them . his bear is completely over stuffed and hard as a rock . he doesn’t move . doesn’t sing . barely holds the heart before dropping it onto the back instead of stuffing it in and watching it fall to the floor . the bear builder tries to pick it up , but michael steps on it , basically telling them to sew the bear up without it . after wards he takes the heart and pockets it . he doesn’t care what the bear wears . the bear has a black shirt and some jeans and that’s it , the clothes barely fit , and it is almost impossible to put them on . when he names it , he just sits at the computer and stares . he names it “no” . later that night , you find “no” stabbed , half of it’s stuffing on the floor leaving a trail to his body . michael is on the floor sewing the heart back inside of it . 

brahms heelshire 

you have to get one of those do it at home yourself build a bear maker kits shipped to you , but you try and give brahms the full experience . it actually scratches an itch of indulge on a childish activity that he didn’t know he had . and the fact that the bear that comes in the kit is rather small , makes him happy . he gives his bear to doll brahms . making it was fun , you taking on the role of peppy bear builder . he thought it was cute . his bear is medium full , and he wanted it dressed in a suit . his name is bearington the third . when you asked if he wanted to help you make your bear he lit up , using his adult voice and treating you like a child . he made you do a million and one things during your heart ceremony and you couldn’t help but laugh at how silly he was . all in all it was a super cute fun time and now bearington and doll brahms are never apart . 

thomas hewit 

you can’t really bring him to build a bear as i don’t think they existed in the time period he lives in , buuuuut you can make him one . you have him pick out a fabric he likes , not giving him any clue as to why . you ask him how soft he likes things . he tells you like his pillow . a little on the firm side . you make a little heart and you have him do a little ceremony with it to put his love in it . he humors you but looks at you with a raised brow as if you’re the silliest person he’s ever met . you ask him what his favorite outfit is and make him pick out more fabrics to get a clothes set out . when you present him with the bear he is shocked . he tries not to tear up . tries not to cry , but he’s so so so happy . he keeps it on his dresser and when he gets out of bed before you , he will put it in your arms so you won’t miss him . 

jesse cromeans 

jesse walks in like he owns the place . the prettiest most expensive bear is his . only the most fancy suit ( he will later order a suit from some fancy designer for his bear ) . he does the heart ceremony , smiling at you the entire time and bumping your hip with his . he promises that he’ll get a chrome heart to put inside of the bear later . and you best bet that jesse gets everything . sun glasses , boots , socks , underwear , roller skates , back pack . his bear is spoiled to shit . you’re is too , and you almost wanna laugh at the look on the other customer’s faces when the price rings up . jesse was being so showoffy that he forgot to get a birth certificate or name his bear . 

bubba saywer 

much like with tommy you can’t really bring bubba to build a bear . but unlike tommy , you already know all of bubba’s favorites . you know he loves textures , so the body , each limb , the head , and the tail are all different fabrics . different sensations so he can have those little stimming moments . you know he likes things extra soft , so that’s how you fill it up . during the heart ceremony you have bubba do so many cute little things and he is more than happy to bounce around and babble . then you have him close his eyes and sew the heart in . when he opens them his eyes light up . and when he feels over the bear he is in utter heaven . it becomes his stress reliever and cuddle buddy . and you’re so happy he finds so much comfort in it . bubba will be giving you so many kisses as a thank you .

billy loomis & stu matcher 

it’s pure chaos . they’re messing with the kids , putting things out of their reach , debating on what animal or bear to get . but they are the most creative . billy gets a bear , stu gets a bunny . billy gets his stuffed medium full , stu barely makes his stuffed at all . stu over exaggerates every fucking heart thing , billy just smirks and makes everything filthy despite the gasps of mothers around you . billy dresses his bear up like a bad ass punk , stu give it a dress and tries to make a thong for it . billy names his bich fuker and stu names his fuking bich . you don’t know how you made it out of the store without being kicked out but somehow you do . later , at lunch , both of them disapear only to suddenly see the stuffed animals pop over the table as they give you a weird stuffed animal porno scene that you try not to die laughing over . 

vincet sinclair 

surprisingly , vincent will go into town with you for this venture . and even more surprising , he will go maskless . his long locks will cover the damaged half of his face , and he might look just a bit annoyed with how crowded it is in the store and how loud it is . he’s used to peace and quiet and metal music . he spends a long time deciding on a stuffed animal , even if he doesn’t think that he’ll put it up anywhere . he tries and does convince you to only get one to share . you’ll both build it together . he choses two and lets you get the choice in which one to get . he does the heart ceremony with you , giving a soft look to you , amused at how much fun you’re having , memorizing the way you look so he can sketch it later . you both decide to try and dress up in cozy clothes , a sweater and pants and socks . you name the bear vincent jr and vincent shakes his head , looking at you amused and presses a kiss to your temple . 

bo sinclair 

bo is annoyed as fuck to be there and is glaring at the kids , calling them brats and ankle bitters . he doesn’t act like he cares , and much like vincent just wants to get one . he isn’t made of fucking money . though he does get pissy when you don’t pick the bear with golden curl fur and you end up changing it with hitting his chest with a limp bear hand . he talks down to the bear builder because at first it’s too soft , then it’s too fucking hard , and then there’s too much stuffing taken out . you end up tipping the poor girl when his back is turned . he almost fucking faints when he sees how expensive everything is for clothes so you only get one white shirt . you then convince him to get a pair of socks because that’s what bo wears when he’s being lazy . he names it ankle bitter . a few days after you get the bear you can’t find it and you think it might have been thrown away , and then you see it in bo’s garage on a top shelf holding a wrench . 

lester sinclair 

lester has a lot of fun . once he makes it inside he gets pumped and asks if he can give his to jonesy . you both decide that your gonna get on each for her . lester gets her a bunny because of how much jonesy loves them . its absolutely adorable . the bear builder has and issue understanding lester’s slurred country talk , and it makes you want to laugh so hard because it’s obvious they’re from out of state . you end up just doing your best to translate and only laugh harder when lester starts laying it on thicker for a laugh . the bear ends up between limp and medium , a good fluff for a cuddle and chew toy . he dresses the bunny up as you , saying that it’s good for jonesy to have a little version of her daddy’s love . and you can’t help but think lester is fucking cute . he doesn’t name the bunny . later , after you decide to eat in the mall , lester says he’ll be back and goes to the bathroom . when he comes back he hands you a little bear that is dressed up like him and tells you that he wanted to make you something to hug on to when you missed him too much . 

jacob goodnight 

jacob is nervous , overwhelmed . you go during a school day in the morning so no one is really around . he doesn’t what to do or what to chose , but decides on one that has eyes that can be removed , you understand that he has a bit of an issue so you promise that you’ll put pretty patches over the eyes when you get home , he’s very relieved by this . now , your boy is usually pouty or neutral looking , but watch him light up and smile during the heart ceremony . he takes everything to heart and is so happy . his bear is medium fluff with most of the fluff in his tummy . he takes his time cleaning it , and picks out a very basic outfit . just a plain shirt and shorts . he names it jacob , after himself and wants you to hold it , thinking that you look so cute with two soft stuffed animals in your arms . later , he’ll try to make matching cross necklaces for both your bears . he also wants to come back and make a bear each for all his dogs . 

martin ( 1977 ) 

this shy boy is extremely excited and nervous at the same time . he’ll be quiet , glancing towards you and back at his bear , one that is pure white . he does the heart ceremony , shy as hell about it , whispering the words and such . but the further into the store the more he comes out of his shell . he smiles and stands close , looking at clothes and wanting your bears to match . they both end up looking cute and fancy , his a girl he names angel , and he tells you it reminds him of you . he keeps it in his room , often looking at it when he thinks and misses you . 

carrie white

this girl is excited , eyes bright and smile wide and sweet . she picks out something soft and pink and colorful . she doesn’t want her bear to be plain , no she wants her to be beautiful and stand out . you can’t help it . you put your own bear away so you can spend all the money spoiling this happy girl you have . she does everything with gusto , even doing it with some shy kids . she’s so lost in the moment that it’s wonderful , she really needed this . her bear is so soft , nearly limp , and dressed in a pretty yellow sundress with ribbons on her ears . she names it sunshine .

Disclaimer: I am not a fashionable or a fashion conscious person and all my ocs suffer for it. You’re all welcome to dress them up better than I can, though I’ll caution that they all tend to fall into the “unfashionable north american” category regardless of how much or little they spend and are probably just a little less helpless than I am anyway haha.

Some more detail below.

Ed: Is a regular cheapskate when it comes to clothing and is still trying to get use out of stuff that reminds him of better times, even if its nearly half a century ago. He oscillates between denim on denim (aka The Canadian/Western Tuxedo) and thrifted sweaters. Generally, his excuse is that no one cares what he’s wearing under his layers anyway. Ed has about as much aesthetic sense for himself as his downtown architects do (they don’t).

Red: I think she really aspires to getting cute clothes but does have a challenge with her height and also her work schedule, since getting grease out of cute clothes is always an emotional ordeal. I think she would dress more feminine if she thought she could still be taken seriously - maybe she does on the weekends. But I think fashions tend to pass her by once she saves up enough to refresh her wardrobe and that frustrates her a little too.

Mac: Only buys his own clothes out of necessity, if he were a normal human family man he would be utterly helpless and his wife would pick all his clothes. The sunglasses are a stereotype about oilmen but I don’t really know what the appeal is, but it fits into the “utilitarian except for one really lame purchase”. Spends a bit more on his hunting jacket and steel toe boots for work.

Cal: He wouldn’t place himself where I did on the chart partially because he has a very skewed idea of what is fashionable and what is expensive, I think he just think it’s normal to pay a lot for clothes. He has an entire closet just for cowboy boots which usually start around $300 a pair, and his stampede outfits are probably custom made.

Maddie: I don’t think she puts a lot of thought into updating her wardrobe and is just lucky that 1. old people fashion comes back in cycles and 2. she has the twiggy body type that makes anything she wears look like a conscientious fashion choice rather than throwing on the same old thing every morning.

Jo: My impression of Josephine is that she is fashion conscious and does keep up with Big City Trends, but she’s also the sort of person who assembles wild outfits from the sale racks because just having access to department stores is a big deal for her. She can spend what she saved on the outfit on a special accent piece or something custom when she goes down south to bigger cities.

Lil: Would spend less money on clothing if she could and finds shopping an annoying ordeal, but I think she is also somewhat fashion conscious and probably follows some god-fearing influencers spearheading the modesty movement lol. I dress her badly specifically because of her poor flag design choices but I think she is still working out what she would wear if she had access to it and pushing the boundaries of how much black is acceptable for church.

Nor: She’s so out of touch with normal human society that, like Calvin, she doesn’t really understand what the rest think clothes are “supposed” to cost. She’s also the one that people would most likely give stuff to advertise for them, so she might not have an accurate assessment of how pricey her “practical” outdoorsy outfits actually are.

Lucifer was often busy, and he knew that. He stayed up late and had to attend many meetings, but you’d always be so understanding and he loved that about you.

But recently, you haven’t been waiting for him in his office or running to his office with a warm cup of tea, telling him not to overwork himself like normal.

At first he was not super concerned. You must be busy getting your midterms done, and studying! You want him to be proud of you and praise you.

However he happened to go for a break and see you leisurely chatting with his brothers? And not studying? After noticing him, you avoided eye contact and ran.

He was concerned and knew something was up. He would confront you, but it seems like you did not want to talk to him. Did he do something wrong?

He started taking a few breaks, and sort of stalked you. He was getting annoyed and was going to finally corner you, until he heard Mammon very loudly shout out this was going to be the best anniversary date.

Asmo was also clapping and cheering talking about how cute/cool you would look for your anniversary date for Lucifer. It finally clicked.

He chuckled to himself as he walked back into his office and quickly finished off his work, after being in a good mood. He’s been so busy recently he failed to realise your anniversary was so soon.

When your first anniversary date finally came, he was calm and collected. Before you could even tell him the plan, who pulled out some flowers and chocolate, giving you a chaste kiss on the forehead.

Mammon

He was having a really bad day, losing all of the money he just earned, and wanted to cuddle you.

You were nowhere to be seen, so he waited for you on the couch, seeking your warmth as soon as you returned.

However, you came back with Beel,, and Lucifer,, and Belphie... why??? Why would you hang out with those guys?? On a Saturday?!

He pounced and cuddle you, and chased off his brothers. He cuddled you in front of the door, and wouldn’t let you get up for twenty minutes and kept mumbling “you’re my human!”

After head patting and backrubbing, he sat up and got off of you. You gently got up and told him you’ve got things to do, but you’ll cuddle later.

Later never came, but you talking to his brothers did. Why weren’t you giving him attention? You were his! He was your first! And that includes first to talk to about your day!

It was completely accidental, but while he headed to your room to cuddle, he heard you pleading with Lucifer to not be mean to Mammon for awhile, and to help make your date smooth.

He thought you were asking Lucifer on a date, but then he heard his name, and one year anniversary.

Fuck. He forgot that existed. Wait wait wait. His human is setting up a date? He’s so proud.

You already know that he knows because he’s utterly confident approaching you and puffs out his chest and swings his arm around your shoulder,

He thinks he’s so sneaky, but you all knew that he knows. If that’s the case, he may as well get his snuggle time back now.

Leviathan

You would go to Levi’s room every evening after dinner just to hear him ramble on about his newest merch, or to cuddle him and give him an abundance of affection.

However, recently you’ve said that you needed to focus on your grades a bit, since you were failing, so you’ll make it up to him when it’s over.

Of course he didn’t question it. A normie like you still has to occasionally study. He was going to play some horror games he recently bought, so it was for the best.

He was so absorbed in his games he didn’t notice you haven’t stopped by for a week, or that your grades weren’t even bad. That was until..

“Shit.” He hissed as he reached into an empty drawer. All of his emergency rations were gone, so he’d have to leave his room to fetch somemore. He begrudgingly made his way to the kitchen, where he found you laughing and joking with his brothers.

He didn’t enter, only watch through a small creak in the door and let his mind go wild. Did you hate him? Why are you laughing? Is mammon actually funny? Why are you nodding? Why is there that excited look in your eyes?

He ran away back to his room seething with rage. He was jealous, yet afraid. A thousand thoughts went through his head, to the point he was ignoring you when you approached him.

You were concerned, but it made your job easier. Though, this made Levi angrier and caused him to doubt himself more. Why weren’t you chasing after him??! It’s obvious he wants you to ask him what’s wrong.

He finally marched to the living room, his jealousy outweighing his self-doubt, and was about to confront you. Until he heard Beel say he got the reservation at a cat-maid cafe downtown.

What? And then he heard Mammon say that he found the figurine of a limited edition Ruri chan you were trying to get for your anniversary.

Shit oh man. Levi forgot about your anniversary. He thought you said you didn’t want to do anything?? He’s keyboard smashing while his face goes red, running to his room.

Are you really doing this for him?? A yucky otaku?? Is it true you actually live him? His jealousy instantly cleared and he became giddy, and then worried about what to get you.

On the day of the date he fidgeted a whole lot waiting for you to ask him, and nearly shouted yes as you told him you wanted to go somewhere. He fell in love with you again.

Satan

Immediately suspicious when you refused to spend time with him. Thought you were mad at him or tired of him, due to his anger issues.

Gets angry when he sees you talking to his brothers, or walking with them in between classes. When did you get so close with them?

He’s not one to hide his feelings, so he was going to ask you what’s going on, he’s not playing a cat and mouse game with you. If you don’t love him anymore, just tell him. And at the very least don’t let it be Lucifer who you love now.

Your anniversary was coming up and he knew it. He didn’t want to waste his time planning something for you two if you were going to break up with him.

He was entering the living room to confirm your feelings with you when he hears Lucifer tell you where you could get one of Satan’s favourite spell books that he’s wanted a hard copy of since forever.

He hears Beel tell you of good restaurants, and understands. You were doing that cliche things that happens in books.

He chuckled to himself for not being a great detective on this case, and observed you from a distance. Happy looking at you, who thinks they’re so sneaky.

On the day of the date he completely one ups you, whatever gift you gave him was nothing compared to amount of love he showered you with, and he even played stupid.

“I’m so hurt, I thought you’d break up with me on our anniversary.” You panicked and tried to reassure him and watch him laugh.

Asmodeous

Honey, do you REALLY think he’d forget your anniversary, or think his brothers are a thing to worry about? He’s the prettiest out of all of them! What’s there to worry about?

He catches on very early that you were planning to make your anniversary special. He can just feel your love for him, even when you’re distant.

He knows the only reason you’d communicate with all those annoying brother’s of his for more than five minutes and ignore him is if you’re asking about him!

He overhears you talking to them about them when he comes back from shopping one day, which confirms his suspicions.

It’s a good thing, since he can freely go shop for you. He buys a ton of stuff because your cute face keeps popping up in his head, and how cute you are planning a secret date for him because you love him.

Your cuteness might even rival his. While you finish up setting the date, he’s preparing himself. The night before he goes all out with his beauty products, cucumbers, face mask.

He even anonymously leaves you a bunch of beauty products. Of course it had to be Asmo though, since there was glitter everywhere, and a bunch of hearts on a note that said “anonymous”.

The next day he wore his cutest outfit, an adorable crop top and sweater, with his designer bags and boots, he looked like the absolute queen he is.

From the gift you got, you assumed he knew. And from his look, he knew. It was just amazing how you seven really thought Asmo, the king of love, would not remember the anniversary of the one person he’s ever actually loved, not just for their body, but for their personality.

Would be insulted if you didn’t do this for him. You’re just so adorable!! He also forces you to change your outfit to match with him, and absolutely uploads a ton of selfies saying matching and couple goals!!

Beelzebub

You told him you were busy, and that you couldn’t spend as much time with him as usual. He was super supportive like you have a life too!! Go ahead!! I love you!! Don’t worry!!

But then he sees you hanging out with his brothers a lot and laughing and having fun and his aura just radiates the “):” face.

Did you not want to spend time with him? Is it because he ate part of your wall? Were you tired of him?? Did you not like big boys anymore??

He looked super sad and depressed and you wanted to cry and squish his cheeks, but didn’t want to ruin the surprise. You forced your heart to be closed so you could make him happy later.

He knew your anniversary was coming up and wanted to do something special!! But did you subtly hint you no longer loved him and not even attempt to do an anniversary food binge with you?

It clicked when he walked in on Asmo shoving clothes in your direction telling you to pick out your favourite one, so he could match you and Beel for the day of your date.

His entire entity went from “):” to “:)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” He just mentally said I love you.

He just melted to your touch in the few moments you would stay together. He couldn’t hide how much he loved you and wanted to squish you afterwards, with his big soft hands. But he had to resist.

You thought he was touch deprived, but were so glad to see it wasn’t the case!! And that he actually had a surprise for you!!

On top of all his meal coupons he’s saved on the past decade, he covered you in kisses and snuggled with you!!

Your date was cancelled because he just ended up cuddling you for so long, it was afternoon by the time you made it to the door.

Belphiegor

He was asleep a lot, so he didn’t notice at first. But each time he fell asleep with you, he woke up with empty arms. Sometimes even in his bed and alone.

Made him kind of pissed, because he liked how squishy you were. Your stomach was a great pillow, and he could hear your heartbeat when he laid his head on your chest. Your thighs were also plush and smooth.

Then it finally made him pissed to the pissiest degree you when you said you couldn’t sleep with him.

He was throwing a tantrum later when he saw you talking to his brothers. He was going to murder all of them if they did not sleep with one eye open.

One of these days he knew he was going to stab Lucifer in his sleep for being a little bitch, having to exist and breathe oxygen, but now the others are up on that list. Maybe not Beel, but he was still angry at him.

It was an accident, but he heard them talk about your one year anniversary, and heard Beel ask if you were getting enough sleep from how often you’ve been going out to prepare.

He’s like,, what one year anniversary? Is it a human world celebration?

Oh. He just said your one year dating anniversary. He is dating you.

He forgot that existed, people celebrating relationship goals. He’s never dated anyone. He doesn’t like people in general.

He huffed due to how you refused him and always left, over a small deal. It’s just an anniversary. But since you’re so excited he could let it go.

He napped a whole lot, and it came to the date sooner than he expected. You were all dressed up and he combed his hair and took a refreshing shower.

This is true couple goals, he didn’t look like he just rolled out of bed for once, and it was just to make you happy. He even gave you a little pillow!!

4.3 | Flutterina

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018)

🌸🌸🌸🌸

-Spoilers-

This was a good one that just had less going for it than the last couple.

I said in the beginning that I found the little towns and their parties uncharming, and I stand corrected! This was charming! The party sequence was carried by a lot of cute little gags. And I like the noseless people with their adorable little kids. There’s a satisfying complexity to their designs and outfits, and the leader and older people we see really feel like middle aged women.

It’s a cool premise to come in after the battle and focus on the aftermath. It was honestly confusing at first when Hordak said the Rebellion had been doing new stuff, because the good guys have practically never made new progress or decisions offscreen! I think it would have benefitted from a quick opener of, like, the last bot falling to Bow’s new shock tablet and the team being like ‘well, that was that!’ That would fill me in pretty quick!

Also I forgot Hordak thought Entrapta was just working with Bright Moon right now 😭

I really enjoyed Adora and Bow’s excitement about the party, and it made such a sweet bookend to Adora’s first party and to her feeling intimidated by all the She-Ra legends. However, I thought Adora’s cockiness felt more extreme than I really wanted for the tone, and the degree to which she dismissed that very earnestly worried leader and endangered the village was kind of painful to watch.

Swift Wind is such a sweetie! He’s just a really solid member of the team! I love his balance between quirky goofs and earnest strategizing. It’s not even that big a thing, I just really expected him to be annoying.

Bow was a little more interesting to me too; he got a focus for once and I like his gentle confidence. It was fun to see him in kind of a new situation, being a legendary hero and owning it.

I WUV Flutterbaby!!! She is just so cute! She has little Ojamajo Doremi hair buns! She has so much personality in such a short time – she rotates around this balance of shyness, excitement, and bravery, and her emotions are so big and tearful and precious. I do think it’s kind of hilarious that they let her join the Rebellion right now since she does seem to be about 12.

Catra’s nightmare was exquisite. Entrapta’s quirky little voice saying “What did you do to me”... It’s such a strong choice that this portal has become a point of trauma for her more than any other specific thing. The tummy-boiling guilt over her frantic and thoughtless but ultimately useful throwing of Entrapta under the bus comes through so strong.

Some months ago, I woke up in the morning with an idea for a She-Ra-inspired roleplaying game turning around in my head. The only real image or sentence I could remember was “Give Catra a nightmare.”

Scorpia is back to being a miss for me. I’ve said it so many times that I wonder if I’m being unfair and missing the appeal. But honestly, it feels like she’s the one guilty of Double Troubling. How is she still chatting it up in the blithe hope that Catra will be her friend? I want to see some change in her. And if we’re going to keep seeing Catra reject her, I want there to have been something between them, ever, so it has any impact.

Double Trouble was such a goddamn star. I love when characters are allowed to LIE WELL! I loved that at one point they got to play Flutterina lying badly. It was such an absolute delight seeing them weave their web in a way that felt nuanced and believable. She-Ra and many other shows are usually so afraid of showing deception in a way that isn’t exaggerated and obvious! I love that this entire episode was dedicated to their performance of giving Flutterina a full constructed character arc and emotional depth and vulnerability, so there’s no reason for anyone to imagine she’s there to trick them.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, so I understand the kind of accomplishment on display here.

It’s also such a neat touch that her 1985 namesake was a real character, not a disguise.

I had the thought during this episode that it must be infuriating to fight against a magical girl. I can just imagine Catra watching Adora and Swift Wind do their friendship power-up and just going “Uuuuuugh! This stuff again??” How dispiriting and alienating must it be when your enemies have the cosmic forces of beauty and love on their side?

I remember being pretty aggravated by some of the next few episodes. I’m so excited to see how I feel this time around!

“Who the FUCK are you?!”

“Me?! Who the FUCK are you?!”

“I’m TommyInnit!”

“Wtf? No you’re not! I’m TommyInnit!”

“Fuck you!”

“No, fuck you!”

Before either of the boys could say another word, a loud boom of thunder caught them off guard. Falling back in similar manners, the two yelled out in synchronized shock as a bolt of lightning barely missed them.

“AH, WHAT THE FUCK?!”

Catching their breathes, the two Tommy’s exchanged a look before scrambling to their feet. Quickly wiping off the dirt off their clothes, the Tommy with the yellow gem cleared his throat, speaking up. 

“Okay okay okay okay, let’s figure this shit out after we find shelter.”

“Yeah, I can agree with that. Let’s get out of here before the weather turns all shit on us.”

The two of them grabbed their items, not that they had much on them. Aside from the blue gem, a handful of bread, some seeds, and a water bucket, Tommy didn’t own much at the time. Everything else was back at his house. The other Tommy seemed to only really have his yellow gem and a guitar. Giving a nod to each other, they made their way through the trees.

They had managed to find a couple of large wooden crates and some strong bungee cords. Using their strength stubbornness, the two managed to pull one of the crates up into a large tree by a decently sized clearing. After struggling for a bit, they managed to secure it with some cords. A groan could be heard from the large crate in the tree. 

“Why don’t we just chop down a tree to craft some wooden planks? We don’t have axes, so it won't be as fast, but it’ll be easier than this!”

The other Tommy just raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms. Giving out a partial laugh, he motioned towards the trees around them.

“Alright, big guy, then show me how it’s done.”

Rolling his eyes, the Tommy in question climbed out of the tree, grumbling as he approached a nearby tree. Looking at it up close, he noticed how different it looked compared to the trees back at home. Confused, he just shrugged and began punching, much to the confusion and concern of the other boy. Finally, afraid of having to clean a future infection without the proper supplies, he climbed down to stop the tree puncher.

“Alright, alright, stop stop stop stop. You don’t have to break your fucking hands because you’re annoyed with me, what the fuck ma-”

“What the fuck are you talking about?”

He froze in place, completely baffled and unsure as to whether or not he was seeing things. His double, who he was sure was insane, had just punched a chunk of the tree out. That wasn’t the only crazy thing about, the tree was still standing up, despite missing the center of its trunk. He watched in silence as the boy continued punching the tree, somehow causing its leaves to drop apples, tree saplings, and stick. Once his double finished, he somehow turned the punched tree parts into planks, then used those and crafted a small table. He stared as the boy made ladders, stairs and planks. 

“...whA T  THE FU C  K?!”

The two soon realized that there are abilities that the two of them can both do, as well as abilities that only one of them are capable of doing. After a screaming of match about such stupid logic, they accidentally discovered that they could combine their separate abilities to create something new. This became evident when they accidentally created a rope ladder for the tree. After all their arguing, however, there was one thing the two discovered that they could agree on.

“This treehouse is kick-ass”

“Hell yeah it is!”

As the sun began to set, the two boys quickly climbed into their newly made shelter. As one Tommy pulled up the rope ladder, the other spoke up to get rid of the silence. 

“I wonder how many mobs will spawn in tonight.”

“I’m sorry, how many what?”

“Y’know, mobs. Zombies, skeletons, creepers, endermen, spiders-”

“I’m going to stop you there because I have no idea what you’re going on about. Sounds like complete, utter bullshit.”

“You said the same thing about the tree”

“Fuck you”

It had been a week since the two Tommy’s were brought to this strange world. After much debate, they had finally decided to give each other nicknames, hoping that it would make telling the two apart by other people (if they did ever come across actual people). Despite these nicknames, they still referred to each other as “Tommy” when speaking to one another. 

“Dude, how did you learn to sew? That makes all this so much easier for us.”

“I just kinda learned back when I was younger. I actually ended up making the uniforms for the revolution back home.”

“Holy shit”

Rust!Tommy [Toms] shot himself a confident smile as he stared at his reflection in the glass. Adjusting the broach made from his yellow gem on his coat, he fixed the fingerless gloves on his hands. Turning to peer behind him at his counterpart, he stepped aside to allow him to see his reflection. Dsmp!Tommy [Thomas] adjusted his trench coat, admiring his his handiwork. He forgot what it felt like to make outfits for fun, for comfort, not for war or survival. Humming in approval, he clasped the broach, which was made from his blue gem, closed, closing his leather belt around his waist.

“Looks nice, bruv”

“Heh, I know”

“We should design hats for us! Know how to make a cowboy hat?”

“Why the fuck would you want a cowboy hat?”

“I’ll look fucking awesome”

The two laughed as they climbed out of their treehouse, which, to Toms, was surprisingly still in the tree. He had asked Thomas about how that was possible, to which he just replied with, “That’s just how my world works.” 

“You grab the wood and mine some cobble. I’ll gather sand and get the furnace going”

“Have fun hauling around buckets of sand!”

“Oh, fuck off. You know I can’t just store it in thin air like you can”

The two wrestled with each other’s arms, trying to mess up the other’s hair first. Toms cheered in victory as Thomas grumbled, heading to the trees. Humming to himself, he pulled out an axe and began cutting down wood. The two were working on an actual house to live in. As much as they enjoyed their treehouse, it wasn’t very big on it’s own. That’s why, much to their delight, it was getting an upgrade. Once Thomas cleared out a good amount of trees, he took out some saplings and bonemeal. putting four saplings by each other, he stepped back and added bonemeal. A giant tree grew towards the sky, towering above the surrounding forest. He couldn’t help but smile at how the tree looked, being much more round than his trees back home. Patting the bark, he walked over the crafting table and began crafting. He was never a talented builder, but he did remember the different builds made back home. Besides, it was only his double that was sticking around. As different as the two were in most aspects, they wouldn’t seriously insult each other’s handiwork. 

“That’s a huge tree”

Thomas, who was hallowing the inside of the tree, looked back at his double. Toms was staring up at the tree, bucket of sand in one hand, his other shielding the sunlight. 

“Are we going to need all this room?”

“We’ll find a way to use all the space. I wouldn’t worry about it too much.”

Nodding, Toms started on loading the furnace, getting the glass started. Pulling out some rope, he began making more rope ladders for the tree. Thomas, on the other hand, finished hallowing out the tree and towered up the leaves using the inside. Sighing a content sigh, he began leveling the leaved area, shearing away the leaves and placing down wooden planks. He began putting up the third wall by the time his double climbed up. Looking around, Toms nodded in approval. Peering up at the leaves above them, he finally decided to speak up. 

“What if we make large area? Just in case we have guests, or whatever.”

Thomas looked back at Toms, before also looking up at the leaves. Making a noise of agreement, he pulled out a piece of paper. Sitting down on the floor, he set out the paper and pulled out his ink and quill, handing it over to Toms. 

“Let’s see what you’re planning. Go all out on the blueprints, I can build it.”

And with a warm look of approval at each other, the two got to work.

daydreaming about a lot of things rn. chibita's complicated relationship with iyami, for one, since that never gets brought up in the ososan fandom i feel. and his deep loneliness and lack of resources and care as a child leading to him trying to care for everyone around him as an adult to make sure nobody lacks what he did at the expense of his own happiness and income. and i was like (screams)

but ALSO. i was imagining what it would be like if nyaa chan formed meaningful friendships with the sextuplets. nyaa and the sextuplets know totoko REALLY well but both know her from different sides, if that makes sense. the brothers have known totoko since they were all kids, they know what she likes and how she acts and what makes her mad. but she doesn't really talk to them about her personal worries, her problems, her actual inner emotional life, because she doesn't actually trust them to take that seriously or not take advantage of how she feels in some way. and she doesnt trust them to not be super fucking annoying about it. but she and nyaa DO talk about how they feel and their worries and their personal stuff. so i think itd be neat seeing the bros and nyaa trying to figure out how those pieces of totoko can fit together

that and i have a lot of Thoughts about totty, kara, kinko, nyaa, and eventually choro helping totoko with her brand. totoko is clearly super worried about her idol career and where it's going, but the Status Quo Is God part of the show means that the writers are complete pussies about addressing that in meaningful ways. for me it's really obvious that she CAN keep the fish themeing and be very successful. fish can be beautiful, be deadly, big and small and every color ever. also some of her outfits that are played off as ugly are actually really good displays of craftsmanship and i like them a lot (the one where shes a grey crustacean in particular but i forgot which specific animal shes supposed to be in that one lol)

i just want her partnership with nyaa to be further explored, since it's clear that it has become a permanent fixture of the show's canon and of nyaa and totoko's relationship with each other.

in my daydreams specifically i just love the idea of her friendgroup all arguing around a big table about her costuming. kara added too many sparkles to the design but totty's suggestions on their own are all incredibly bland, choromatsu is too focused on the cute factor, kin-chan's taste is eccentric and questionable, nyaa is simultaneously trying desperately to keep the peace and add her own suggestions, and overall everything is chaos. but in the end, all of them come together with costumes and themeing that is genuinely impressive because they cover each other's weaknesses. totoko can be a fighting fish or a shark or a mantis shrimp, all strong and unyielding and COOL, and have her costumes still be cute and frilly while retaining the aquatic themeing

her strong personality coming through in the kinds of fish she represents on stage could be really cool. nyaa being a housecat but also a big threatening wildcat depending on the loose story their music and stage themeing has would be so cool as well. like, i genuinely think there's a lot of potential for their competitive spirits and strong wills to really shine on the stage and be compelling for audiences. ITD BE SO FUN. OKAY.

itd be so fun to see totoko get the love and attention she deserves but from people who also won't just crumple under her Intensity. i think the matsus in particular need to see women as people instead of sex objects and i think this storyline lends itself well to that as well. like, choro helping nyaa with her themeing and ending up seeing her a lot outside of her constructed idol persona..... i think after he realizes she's just some lady with a Lot to worry about, they could actually be friends. i also think that she and oso should be friends. i think everyone should be friends and hold hands in a circle and work out their problems. and nyaa and totoko should kiss. i love how they love (by yelling)
