Hey girl, I absolutely love your writing style so I was wondering if you could write about reader dating LA knight but them having a huge age difference (like he’s 41 and reader’s in her twenty’s) and people finding out about reader’s age and not being okay with their relationship but LA being so in love with her that he would go against his own fans to protect her from negative comments
first time writing for him!
la knight x reader + rhea x reader (platonic)
‼️a little angst (please tell me you get the reference from the title lol)
Tumblr media
coal digger
“they hate me…” you said throwing yourself on the hotel bed.
“who?” your best friend rhea asked you.
“the fans, the people, everyone!”
“no one hates you” she laughed at your dramatic reaction.
“the comments they are leaving under our post together aren’t nice. the comments they are leaving under my post are mean and terrible! it’s clear that they hate me!” you said. rhea knew what you were referring about.
you and la knight started dating just a few months ago but the sparkle between you two was evident. you worked backstage as one of the social media managers and you loved your job at wwe, especially when you had to tour with the wrestlers to film and take pictures for the socials.
that’s how you two met. you were asked to take a video and you immediately connected. he was fun and charismatic, you were fun and charismatic. he was hot, you were hot. he was kind and you were kind.
rhea said that he was your soulmate and you almost believed her.
five months later, you two confirmed publicly your relationship. your colleague were happy for you two, saying that you found each others. his fans, on other hand, didn’t like you at all.
they thought you were there just for fame and money and that you didn’t really love him. they couldn’t be more wrong but you knew there was no arguing with the fans.
plus, your age difference wasn’t making it easy for you to be more likeable to his fans.
he was 41.
you were 25.
most of the nice comments were about how “gorgeous of a daughter he had” or “he found his sugar baby”, the worst comments were when they called you a “goal digger looking for fame” or just simply a “slut”.
“those aren’t his fans. his fans probably don’t even care about who he’s dating. those are just girls who are jealous because you two are dating and they’re not…you shouldn’t listen to those people y/n” rhea tried to comfort you.
“i know i shouldn’t but it’s not really nice when they’re calling me a slut just because i fell in love…” you were hurt and rhea realised that too but before she could talk, your boyfriend entered the room, sign that he just finished training for his upcoming match.
“hello ladies” he smiled at the both of you. rhea smiled back but you were too lost in your thoughts to acknowledge him.
“i’ll leave you two alone” rhea smiled before going somewhere else.
“what’s on your mind pretty girl?” he said sitting next to you on the bed.
“your fans hate me…”
“no they don’t” he replied back.
“but they do…and”
“and it’s bothering you…” he finished the sentence and you nodded.
“the don’t like me. they don’t like us together and i get it, maybe they are jealous, i would be jealous too if someone else was dating you” you said making him laugh “but it’s the lack of respect that i cannot stand. you don’t like me? just say it nicely please because i can’t stand seeing more comments of me being called a slut just because i love you and we are together…”
“wait what?” he asked a little shocked.
“what?”
“they called you a slut? are you serious?” you nodded at his question “this is not right at all, i’m so sorry love you have to go through this every single day…i had no idea of the mean comments they were leaving under your posts…they should definitely stop”
“they don’t want us together because of me. if i was your age probably no one would have said anything…but i’m 25 and they keep calling me a gold digger and”
“coal digger” he said making you chuckle.
“not the right time for the modern family reference” you laughed again.
“i know i just wanted to see your pretty smile” he smiled back at you “listen to me…i love you” he said sitting closer to you and opening his arms to let you lay your head on his chest “i love you so much y/n that words can’t even describe it…you are everything to me. i know comments get on your head but you shouldn’t let them okay? i love you for being you and that will never change.” he softly kissed your head and you smiled into his chest.
“thank you…”
“you don’t have to thank me love” he smiled back.
he knew his words would have helped you but he wanted his fans to understand that he was feeling for you was real.
so he took his phone out. took a cute selfie of you laying on his chest with your eyes closed and a big smile on his face.
i’m the luckiest man alive. i love this woman with all my heart, some of you probably won’t even understand but i don’t care. respect my girl and our relationship, thank you.
and then he posted it.
you saw his with your eyes little opened and you smiled. you loved how protective he was and you loved him for that.

“Have you ever been to the North Star?”
“What?” Haechan asked back in response, taking his attention off the vegetables he was cutting in the kitchen. “No, why?”
“Our soul stones reside there.” You shrugged.
He rolled his eyes before he went back to what he was doing, “They should be called twin stones not soul stones. Twin flames are our other halves and soulmates are people we knew in previous lives.”
“Okay, fair but don’t you think they’re interesting?”
You knew he always got upset at the mix up between twin flames and soul stones, it was something you found endearing. Truthfully, you didn’t know until he told it to you and that was another thing you loved about him. He always taught you more which fed your natural curiosity.
“I guess.” He shrugged. “But I’ve had no reason to go there. I’d be testing rocks for hours and I feel like I’d just be disappointed by it.”
“You have no one in mind?” You asked with your chin on your hands as you looked at him from the couch.
“Of course I do.” He responded.
And for some reason, there was a twinge at a few of your heart strings that stung as deeply as the cold. The pain flashed for a moment in your eyes and it was luck for you, his back was to you so it went unnoticed by your friend.
“Why haven’t you gone to test it then?” You inquired further.
“I’m afraid.” He admitted while putting down the knife, the vegetable laid in pieces on the cutting board. “What if they don’t fit together perfectly like they’re meant to?”
“Then there’s someone else that you’re meant to be with.” You answered rather gleefully.
“I don’t think I’d like to know that. I rather live in a blissful state of what could be. Why do you want to go so bad?”
“I know you’re smart, Hyuck. It’s because I have someone in mind. Duh!”
You fell back on the couch as he was prepping the food once more. There was that twinge again, only not in your heart but his own. The sound of the knife hitting the board cease for a moment before it began again.
He didn’t like the idea much like you didn’t either of having people in your lives that you hadn’t mentioned to one another. You’re meant to be best friends but best friends tell each other about the people you’re interested in. Neither of you had mentioned that person in passing with one another. The both of hadn’t assumed that it had been for good reasons.
The hurt subsided but lingered in the quietness of the room. It became heavy and overwhelming. You shot up from the couch.
“We should go together.” You suggested.
Before he could say anything, you were up and dragging him out of the kitchen by his wrist.
“The food!” Haechan pointed out.
“It’s be here when we get back.” You said, swiftly.
“The stones will still be there after we eat!” He whined.
“You know how when I want to do something, nothing else matters until I do the thing I want. It’ll be quick, promise.”
He couldn’t say no to you. It was impossible whether it was because you made him too weak to do so or because you were too stubborn to get your own way. You were already up the stairs to your linen closet, intent on where to go with the boy tailing behind you. As soon as the door slammed behind the both of you. A flash of mist and light engulf you for only a moment to reveal the change of location. Everything around you was various shades of glowing blue, most notably a periwinkle color. Shards of crystal surrounded the both of you, multiple halves of stones were cascaded through out the labyrinth of the star.
The grip on his wrist loosen as you looked around, confused. The boy seemed lost as well.
“How are we going to find the stones?” He mumbled.
He strayed from you while he avoided the sharpen formations as he walked around to look at the countless stones.
“Haechan-“ You called.
It was no use though, he was already around the corner of the wall. You don’t even think he heard you which you rolled your eyes at before turning around. As soon as you turned, a shard suddenly popped up out of the ground startling a brief scream and a rapidly beating heart from you. It spoke to you.
“Welcome to North Star system. How may I help you?” It said, robotically, indicating it was an automated system.
“Are you okay?!” Haechan yelled, a hint of worry in his voice.
“I’m fine!” You answered. “I thought… I saw a bug or something… Have you found anything?”
“Not yet!” He shouted. “I’ll let you know if I do.”
There was relief in you when you heard his footsteps start again and get farther from you. You bent down slightly to say your full name into the point of the shard. You looked behind you one last time before going back to quickly add another.
“And Lee Donghyuck.” You whispered.
It was silent for a second. Nothing moved and you began to wonder if it has heard you. Then the frustration and disappointment came to set in as everything stayed the same. Out of nowhere, a circular block of clear crystal came up from the ground with two blue boxes sat next to each other. The shard in front of you disappeared into the ground once more to reveal a path toward what you sought after.
Frozen in place, a moment you had dreamed and thought about since you found about the North Star was presented right in front of you. Fear replace the frustration you felt prior. Did you really want to know? There was a dilemma in you and felt like a hypocrite to the words you spoke earlier to your friend.
Hesitantly, you stepped forward and approached the pedestal. You went with the box on your left first and opened it to reveal one half. It glowed in your palm and a moving image of you appeared in it. You did the same with second box, it glowed in your other palm and Donghyuck appeared in. You smiled at it, rubbing your thumb over the cool surface of his stone. The question arose again, did you really want to know? Of course you did. You found yourself moving the two halves closer together. Time seemed to only slow down the closer they got to each other as a breath got caught in your throat. Only a few more centimeters…
“What are you doing?” A voice rang in your ear, breath fanning your hair.
You were frozen in place as everything stopped. It was unclear if he was angry or not because he most certainly could see the little image of him moving in the confines of the rock. You turned around rather quickly, quivering before him.
Haechan didn’t look angry but the tone was not as sweet and soft as usual which set something off in you. Uncontrollably, tears started to form in your eyes. You tried to blink them away but it only seemed to encourage them as they started to fall down your cheeks and fogged up your vision.
His stone fell to the floor while you kept the grip on your own so much tighter. His gaze seemed to soften at your reaction. You back away from him in an attempt to find a wall you could disappear into. It was not worth an attempt as you were too weak to actually use your own magic in that moment and you found yourself sinking into a ball against the barrier. You hid your tear stained face in your arms so you couldn’t see him pick up the stone and put in his pocket. He came running and dropped to your side within seconds of it.
“Hey, it’s okay.” He reassured, the soft and sweet tone was back with a hint of huskiness to it. “If crying makes you feel better, that’s fine but if you’re crying because you think I’m upset, please don’t do that… I’m not.”
He hated that he was reason behind your tears. Maybe it wouldn’t just been better if he had shut up and walked away. He wrapped an arm around you, gently to not startle you. He could feel you shake. He frowned at himself. Like he deserved to have his soul stone fit yours. You peeked up from your arms, eyes red with tears threatening to spill once more.
“I’m sorry.” You apologized. “I know I ruined everything.”
You referred to the friendship and shook his head rather quickly after your words, “No, don’t do that. I fucked up I should’ve just… not pulled that bullshit. I’m sorry… I just wanted to show you something cool I found out about the stones. You didn’t ruin anything.”
Not anything he didn’t want ‘ruined’ anyway. Haechan stroked your hair with a sweet but apologetic smile in an effort to comfort you. It took everything in him to not verbalize the confession sitting on the tip of his tongue. His arm left your shoulder only to go to your hand. Warmth encapsulated your own as he kept a firm grip on it. His other hand left your hair to pull out the stone from his pocket.
“You wanted to know, right?” He cooed as he held it out between the two of you.
The tears stopped and you regained your composure. Your grip loosened on your own stone as you brought it up to match his. Instead of centimeters, it was inches apart. Both you seemed rather hesitant to bring them closer to one another.
“Now or never?” He murmured.
You looked each other in the eyes. A softness and a type of vulnerability could be seen. You nodded at him before you turned your attention back to scene in front of you two. The stones stayed lit in both of your hands are moved to fit them together. It seemed to take ages for them to connect but in the final second it felt like it fused together like magnets would. A burst of light came as soon as the stones touched. You squinted your eyes from the sudden light that dissipated after a moment.
Then there you two were, in the stone, coming together across the boundary of the crack of each to meet in the middle for a kiss. Seeing it made the apples of your cheeks heat up and then you heard a laugh in your ear.
“What?” You asked. “Why are you laughing?”
“I was afraid for nothing.” He smiled before looking up at you.
“I was the one you had in mind?!” You exclaimed as you shoved his shoulder, playfully.
“I know you can be a bit air-headed at times but you can’t possibly be this dumb…”
“You’re a big dummy too if we’re going to talk about it.”
“We’re not.”
You couldn’t ask him what he meant before his hands were on your waist pulling you into his body. The completed soul stone went flying out of your hands at the movement, sliding across the floor. It made you gasp, yet they stuck to each other like glue.
“That’s the thing I wanted to tell you.” He whispered in your ear while a hand reached up to move a few standards of hair out of your face. “Once they’re together, they can’t be separated.”
His hand came down to caress the side of your face and pull you back to look at him. Your heart started to race just looking at him in the eye now, knowing his feelings. The silence was no longer awkward but suffocating.
“You’ll have to stop me now if you don’t want me to kiss you.” He confessed.
“I can’t.” You admitted.
You moved forward, closing the tension filled gap between the two of you similarly to the soul stones. The suffocating feeling was gone and you felt like you breath again. So full of passion and lost in it, you let out a sigh that had Haechan smiling into the kiss. Your hand went to the back of his neck in effort to bring him closer and deepen the kiss. His body now has you pinned against the fall. It would’ve continued if he hadn’t had to come up to breath for a moment. He stayed so close in front of you, looking down at your lips.
“We might be here longer than anticipated.” He laughed, smugly.
“We can’t.” You blushed. “If people show up and find us making out on the floor I’d be mortified…”
“I’m sure it happens here all the time with the other witches and warlocks.” He replied. “With far worse acts if I’m being honest.”
His words resulted in him getting smacked on the shoulder once more. He played hurt as he rubbed his shoulder.
“Okay, I won’t kiss you ever again.” He lied as he went to turn away.
You responded by yanking him back by the collar of his coat. His lips were against yours once more as now hovered over you. One hand supported himself over you while the other came up to zap you out of there. Whatever you wanted was what he wanted at the end of day.

17 AU-gust: Fallen Angel
Rating: Teen and up Relationship: Steve Harrington/Eddie Munson WT: none WC: 1466
Steve looks at his old profile on the dating app.
FallenAngel92.
Robin chose the name obviously.
He hasn’t opened the app in years, but a few weeks ago Billy broke up with him and now Robin has finally convinced him to open the old app and put himself out there once more.
The break up wasn’t a hard one, after years of relationship something shifted and when Billy was offered a good position in San Francisco he simply couldn’t say no. He even asked Steve to come with him, but Steve couldn’t leave Robin and they decided to break up.
They still text each other stupid memes, but they are no longer together and a few hours ago Billy posted a picture on Instagram where he was kissing another boy.
Which is fine. Totally fine. But made his heart ache a little.
So FallenAngel92 is back, looking at some random pictures, trying to understand from a fake smile and a photoshopped photo if he might like the person behind the nickname.
He looks at the pictures of boys and girls, but he was never good at choosing, he was always the chosen one.
He met Billy in High School, they started as enemies and ended up as one of the few gay couples of Hawkins.
It was hard, Steve’s parents don’t talk to him anymore, but he knows that he would have never had the courage to kiss a boy if Billy hadn’t kissed him first.
And what a kiss it was.
In the lockers, after they won the Championship game.
Well, Billy is far away with another guy and Steve has to try to meet new people. another thing he is not good at.
Even if he is a caring and lovely boy, somehow the first impression he makes on new people is always a bad one. Even Robin, who is like his platonic soulmate, thought that he was nothing more than a bully for months before they became friends.
That’s why she suggested going back to the app, just to make some practice of small talk.
What he is not expecting is to find an inbox after a few minutes of scrolling.
And from MetalDemon, nevertheless! Somehow it feels like a sign.
“Did you hurt yourself when you fell from the sky, FallenAngel?”
Ok. That’s cheesy. But with a nickname like that, he can’t really complain.
“Being a demon, you should know a thing or two about falling, don’t you?”
“Oh, I know a lot of things about falling. I usually fall on my knees for pretty boys like you. Do you really dress like a cute little sailor?”
Shit. He forgot to change his profile picture! It’s an old one for a Halloween party where he dressed in the Schoop Ahoy Uniform he wore at work during his first year of college.
“Well, that was a Halloween party. I usually dress more casually.”
“So no feathers for me?”
Steve snorts “Are you into feathers?”
“I’m into you, big boy. Your profile says that you are in Chicago. I’m here too for a few days and my job is beating my ass. Would you like to meet for a drink?”
He hasn’t had a date in years! He doesn’t know if he is ready for that.
He calls Robin right away, even if he knows she is still working at the pub.
“What’s the emergency? Did the house catch on fire? We have insurance somewhere.” she replies immediately.
“Not that kind of emergency Rob. The kind that someone is asking me out on that stupid app and I don’t know what to say.”
“Is he handsome?”
“I can’t really tell. He is playing in his picture and all I can see it’s the guitar and the hands. He has a lot of rings!”
“Mmmh… Do you feel ready?”
“I don’t know.”
“You know what? Ask him to come to the pub. I’ll be here and if anything goes wrong I’ll save you. No questions asked.”
“You are the best.”
“I know I am, but I’m still on the clock. Talk to you when I get back home! Love you dingus!”
“Love you too!”
“Sorry, a friend of mine called. Would you like to go grab a drink at the Upside Down?”
“Upside Down?”
“It’s a little pub I usually go to. But if you have any other ideas…”
“No, it’s fine, I’m not from here so everywhere is fine for me. Just text me the address and I’ll be there.”
“Ok. How we will recognize one another?”
“Don’t worry about that. I’m sure we will find each other.”
***
Steve is sitting at the bar counter, sipping his second beer and there is no sight of MetalDemon.
He sighs. He shouldn’t be disappointed. He just texted a man he doesn’t know and he didn’t show up. It happens all the time. Still, it hurts.
“One more?” Robin asks, getting closer to him.
Steve looks at the clock, he has been waiting for almost two hours. He should go back home. Tomorrow he has to work.
“No, thanks, I’m fine. Thank you for keeping me company, I’ll see you at home.” Steve leaves some bills near his glass and goes toward the door, only to find himself hitting the floor hard.
“What the fuck!” he complains, holding his elbow.
“I’m so sorry! I was in a rush.” a dark-haired boy says, trying to help him lift from the ground.
He has slender fingers and many rings.
“MetalDemon?” he asks, confused.
“Oh god. It’s you. I’m sorry. I’m so fucking sorry…” but the boy doesn’t have the time to finish his apologies that Robin is between the two of them.
“You let my friend wait for you for two hours! You could have at least texted!”
“I know! I’m so sorry! But it wasn’t my fault. I mean. It was but it wasn’t! I just broke up with my boyfriend and one of my friends decided to set me up with some random guy and when he told me I got angry and I didn't really want to come. But then he told me I was being stupid and selfish, that at least I could have gone and grabbed a beer and I felt bad, and I wanted to come sooner but that stupid groupies will not let me go and…”
“Groupies? What?”
“Oh. I’m the lead singer of the Corroded Coffin. Didn’t Gar tell you that?”
Steve shakes his head, but he knows perfectly well the Corroded Coffin.
“Oh my god. You were at Hawkins High School! You won the battle band and got a contract with a major label.”
“How the fuck do you know?” The black-haired man looks at him confused, and then something clicks “Harrington? Is that you?!”
He nods.
“Oh my god. I’m going to kill Gar. I will. I swear! You are not some fucking random guy!”
Robin stares at them confused, and then she decides “Take a seat, I’ll give you the menu and you will explain to us what the hell is going on.”
Long story short, Eddie confesses that he had a crush on Steve since high school but when he finally resolved to confess his feelings to Steve, Billy beat him and he never got another opportunity.
“I found your profile on that app years ago, but I never dared to text you and then you disappeared again.”
Steve nods, he tried to use the app when he and Billy were having a crisis a few years ago but he never really chatted with anyone.
“Gar was playing with my phone, I suppose he saw you were online and he texted you. I’m so fucking sorry. I will understand if you don’t want to have anything to do with me anymore.”
Steve sighs.
His nickname is not random. Robin chose it because it represented Steve. A good guy destined to fail.
He should not be surprised that his first date ended up like this.
“You know what? I think you could be a good influence on our sad little angel. What do you say if you continue this conversation at home? We are closing and I’m dead on my feet.”
“Would you like that?” Eddie asks, shyly, and Steve finds out that he does.
He doesn’t care if this will turn into a relationship or not. Eddie is funny and has so many anecdotes to tell that the times fly and they end up talking till dawn.
When Eddie leaves Steve’s apartment he gives him his personal mobile phone.
“I’ll be back in Chicago in a couple of months. Would you like to go on a date with me? A real one?”
Steve nods, smiling, maybe this FallenAngel was always doomed to fall into a MetalDemon’s arms.

I don’t know if you’ve answered something like this before, but what causes willow and skara to develop feelings for each other respectively?
I actually don’t know if I’ve answered this one before. At least not directly. I’ve done an ask or two about Skara and Willow growing close before confessing, and one about a soulmates au, but nothing like, ‘What made Willow and Skara fall for each other’.
Well me and my friend Q are still working on our long-form skarlow fic (we are I promise) that will answer this, but it’s basically become non-cannon compliant by this point, so maybe there’s a version that works closer to cannon then…
Skara falls for Willow first. How could she not? Willow was so sweet and strong and fun to be around and bright and just… an entire dictionaries worth of positive adjectives that Skara could go through! Of COURSE Skara would fall for her!
Which she did, at the end of one of their Flyer Derby games. Skara assisted Willow with getting the winning score, snatching victory from the jaws of defeat! As the announcers called the game, the two girls, giddy with excitement, hi-fived: a simple act that changed Skara forever.
The truth is, Skara always had some feelings for Willow, at least as far back as Grudgby. She’d always have this momentary feeling of light orbs tickling her heart whenever she saw Willow, this small, silly sensation that made Skara want to hang around the glasses-wearing girl more. When she was still friends with Boscha, though, she lied to herself about it to stay on the triclopses good side. And when she left, she thought it was simply a weird combination of… she didn’t know. Friendship and guilt?
But when her hands touched Willow’s, and she saw the Plant Witches beaming and glowing smile, that feeling of light orbs blew up inside of her, scattering it’s warmth across her whole body. In that moment, she just wanted to interlock their fingers and never let go.
Sadly, she had to point two seconds later, but it was right then, floating several feet off the ground, hand still held up like an idiot, that Skara realized that her feelings weren’t just platonic friendship niceness: she liked Willow. A lot. Like… a LOT a lot.
And that’s how Skara fell.
Willow would come later, a few weeks after Skara. In which time Skara was barely able to hide her feelings. Hiding her face in the halls, barely paying attention at practice, almost falling over the railing once as she walked past Willow in the hall. At that point, everyone was seeing it: Viney, Gus, even HUNTER noticed stuff was up! The only one ironically who didn’t was Willow herself.
Though, for good reason; Willow wasn’t the overly romantic type. She didn’t really have a lot of crushes growing up, and what few she had… well, didn’t work out. So Willow didn’t think too much about romance. She was always open to the idea, and maybe she liked the story of how her dads grew close through Flyer Derby, but Willow never wanted to force anything: if she found someone she liked and they liked her, it would happen. If not, she could live with it.
Thankfully she did, in the form of Skara, sitting on the Derby field before practice, strumming on a guitar while trying to blow a tuba and using magic on drum sticks. When Willow asked just what was Skara doing, she told her, flustered, that it was a school assignment to write a love song. In reality, she was trying to come up with a good way to confess to Willow, but no song she could come up with felt right. Every rhythm felt too choppy, every lyric too played out. She wanted something to wow Willow, show her just how much she meant, and she couldn’t even imagine anything remotely worthy of her.
It wasn’t an immediate ‘love at first sound’ moment. But gradually, as Skara continued her song, strumming along with whatever her heart thought of, Willow began to feel her emotions… shift. She noticed how Skara got into the zone, how her furrowed brows relaxed, and how her doubtful frown shifted into a cool, confident smile. How her hair shone silver in the sun. And how the Star makeup she’d applied early today really did seem to suit her face…
But that wasn’t enough. Willow always knew Skara was cute, she’d have admitted it even when she was a bully. It was obvious. But it wasn’t just Skara’s cuteness that Willow thought about in that moment. She also thought about how cool Skara was, how funny she was. How fun it was to play alongside her, how nice it felt to listen to her babble on about strategies. Or, in this case, play music.
Willow realized how much she liked Skara’s love song.
And how much she wished Skara would play it for her.
At THAT revelation, Willow could have been mistaken for a Bard. Or, her face could be, anyway.
When Skara finished her song, her serene expression turned to panic as she noticed Willow’s face, also now panicking. Both girls were eternally grateful that the others showed up a moment later, ready for practice.
A practice Viney would famously describe as, quote, ‘the single most awkward and hormone-driven practice in the history of the entire sport of Flyer Derby,’ end quote.
Which made sense, given how Skara smacked herself against the scoring post staring at Willow and Willow’s first instinct was to shove Viney aside as she rushed over to cradle her like she was dying. Among other stupid hijinks.
Thankfully Skara and Willow both would recover from their injuries. And one week later, Skara would confess to Willow with a cleaned up version of the song Willow helped her make. And Willow, smiling, would yell out for the entirety of the Boiling Isles to hear, ‘yes!’

How me and him met: Our Story.
I was in Florida, helping my mother start her small business when I was Snapchat. A friend of mine, we’ll call her Everly, had posted a video of her boyfriend getting out of the car, coming to see her, he was mentioned.
I added him, thinking nothing of it. Within a few minutes, he had added me back. He told me he got Everly’s say so to add me back. Big mistake, Ev.
I checked his story, seeing that he had posted something. It was a picture, of a broken mirror and himself holding a gun to his head. I turned the phone to my mom and said, “look at this!” And said squinted, and sajd “what happened to the mirror?” and we shared a bit of a laugh, at her nonchalance over the gun.
I slid up on his story and jokingly said “what happened to your mirror?” And he laughed, and replied with, “I punched it,” and we chatted back in forth, I am unsure of what we spoke of to this day.
I went home from Florida (I now live in Florida) and we had started texting along the way. There was an immediate connection. We couldn’t stop texting and I found out he was dating Everly out of guilt… which I couldn’t stand for.
I started to have feelings for him and tried convincing him to leave her, for a couple weeks. We met in person on February 26th of 2022. He wasn’t leaving her until eventually he did.
We had, had a second hangout planned, but I had a very strong feeling he’d kiss me, and I couldn’t bring myself to go. I was nervous as shit and no matter how much I liked him, I wasn’t ready for that.
I soon began the process of moving to Florida. We continued to text for two years. He tried confessing his feelings for me probably four times. Wrote me something along the lines of poetry, and was always supportive when I needed him.
There was talk of him moving to Florida not long after I did but things didn’t work out. I continued to reject him. (I’m so sorry, love.)
He asked to be in long distance once and confessed having feelings for me since he met me. I turned him down again. Telling him we weren’t meant to be lovers in this life.
I was in my hometown temporarily and tried to see him, but we missed each other.
We continued to be friends.
My brother came in my room one night and said “whatcha doin?” And I said “contemplating my mistakes,” (this was early February, 2024) and he asked what I meant.
I told him the story.
“Want me to be honest with you, k?” My brother said and I nodded, laughing nervously. “You fumbled.”
Now, this wasn’t mentioned previously but I loved him so deeply I couldn’t explain it if I tried. I sometimes wonder if I’d consider us soulmates.
My brother recommended I try to befriend him more often, and build a friendship foundation in case one day we want to be together. I did so, talking to him everyday for a few weeks.
Our conversation fell off for a little while, and one night I was with my siblings and their partners, and the sunset reminded me of him. I messaged and said I miss you.
Mind you, during the friendship foundation building, I began to crave his attention which was a bad sign for someone as emotionally unavailable as I was.
We started talking everyday and I fell for him. Somewhere between then and now, he became my everything and I had no idea when it happened. I told him I’d want to try for a real relationship finally when he was near me again.
He agreed and we became unofficially official… which didn’t last very long before I wanted more. Which was also an alarming step because of my past patterns. I didn’t want to move too quickly.
I asked him some odd days later what he’d have to say if I asked to be official with long distance, which I previously had shitted on.
He replied and said he’d love too but couldn’t due to his schedule in life right now. I was a little dejected but okay. We continued on.
I started journaling how I felt about him and moped around for a couple of days, not happy with how little we were texting or how soft our relationship was. There was no hard line to define what we were.
That night, we started texting and he left me a perfect opening to tell him I’m in love with him. Which I didn’t want to do over text because it was insincere but the moment was too good.
He only agreed and said he understood how i felt because he’d felt that way for two years. I knew he had liked me but he was IN LOVE WITH ME? For two years?!
My body started reacting and my heart was beating out of my chest.
After I apologized for making him wait two years he said, “it’s okay. I told you I’d wait,”
To say I died would be an understatement. That had to be the most romantic thing I had ever heard. And there were many guys in the span of the two years since I met him, that had told me the same thing when I would reject them because I wasn’t ready for a relationship.
And coming from anyone who wasn’t him, I was disgusted every time.
He was also planning on leaving for a job where I’d have no access to him for 4 months at a time and all it took was a love confession for him to change his mind.
I was shaking, and so excited but scared (the trauma) so… yeah.
We continued texting and I was so excited. He also planned to come see me whenever he has the money and time off.
A few days later we were texting again and I stayed up until almost five in the morning, texting him after a full almost 12 hour day of work.
My eyes burned really bad. But he just had to go and say more romantic things like “I can’t help but wonder what your lips will taste like,” I died again.
There isn't really a way to end this lol. He and I are speaking everyday and tell each other we love each other more than three times a day usually, and we plan to see each other asap, if not in the next couple months. I overthink his feelings for me everyday and he truthfully is my home and peace...

When you tell him that you used to have a crush on him (Oikawa ver.)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Oikawa x reader
Wordcount: 1300
Genre: angst (not really but kinda)
Author´s note: There will be a pt. 2 at some point and I will release at least two more versions for Atsumu and Kuroo. If you want this type of story for another character I write for, you can request it!
Other Versions: Atsumu Kuroo
For those who are confused about why I say he is in Brazil in this story: I know he lives in Argentina but at some point in the Manga he is in Brazil and meets Hinata again. Since I haven’t finished the Manga yet, I don’t know how long he stays in Brazil. Could be a few months, could be a week. I don’t know, so just roll with it :)
I hope you like it!
Tumblr media
-         The two of you went to the same high school and you used to be in the same class as him
-          You didn’t interact much until you ended up sitting next to each other in class
-          Oikawa didn’t have much of an opinion of you before because you were usually the quiet one in class and didn’t catch his attention. You on the other hand, already had an opinion and it wasn’t too positive: he was too loud, too much of a show-off and too flirty for your taste
-          Only when you sat next to one another and were forced to interact by group projects you both learned to appreciate each other
-          You appreciated him a bit more than he did, though
-          After becoming friends with him and most of his volleyball team you actually realized there was more about him than you thought and fell in love
-          You´ve never had the courage to confess because you didn’t want to ruin your friendship. It was just way too special to you
“What do you mean you had a crush on me?” even through the phone you could tell how his voice went up a notch as he pretty much screeched those words into your ear.
“Exactly what it sounds like. When we were still in high school, I was head over heals for you,” you admitted, your fingers unconsciously playing with the fabric of your blanket that was right underneath you.
You and Oikawa were on your weekly call. Since the boy lived now in Brazil while you were still in Japan you couldn’t meet up anymore. It also didn’t help that both of you were still rather busy.
Oikawa was swarmed with practice and occasional games while you were still in university and just tried to figure out what you wanted to do with your life.
It was a given that those calls often only lasted a few minutes but sometimes when both of you had time to breathe they lasted for hours until one of you fell asleep which was mostly you due to the time difference.
Tonight, was one of those days. It was a Friday night (for you) and Oikawa for once didn’t have practice and was too exhausted to go out while you spent most of your evenings inside your small flat anyway.
Somehow today´s topic concentrated on stories from your high school days as well as a little gossip. That brought this particular situation on you as you just admitted that you had the biggest crush on Oikawa back then.
Normally you would be too embarrassed to admit to having a crush on someone which was one reason why the volleyball pro didn’t have any clue. Another was the fear of ruining this friendship. You obviously had other friends but none of your friends compared to what you had with him.
It was like those friendships you would envy on TV. Even though your start was rather rocky, at some point it felt like the two of you were soulmates.
Platonic ones, though.
You would text each other daily – be it silly memes or deep 3 AM conversations.
You had stayed after practice with him, occasionally helping him or sometimes you did your homework and other times you just chilled while he did his thing. The only thing the two of you cared about was that you were in the same room, close, even if you didn’t interact with one another. Not to forget that you always made sure that he wouldn’t overdo it which was an exhausting task.
You both had been last-minute study buddies. Due to volleyball he often times had to put studying off, not that it mattered because somehow he still had incredible grades while you were a passionate procrastinator. You couldn’t even count all those times the two of you studied at his place until both of you fell asleep on his floor, only to be woken by his alarm the next morning.
You had done stupid things together. Be it pranking Iwaizumi or the time you two sneaked out to go to a concert in a shady bar your parents and the law didn’t allow you to go to.
So when high school ended and Oikawa and you had different ideas how to go on about the future – you wanted to go to university in Tokyo while he wanted to become a volleyball pro – you were scared to lose each other along the way, which was the exact reason why you called each other every week at least once.
It obviously worked since it had been about one and a half years and you were still great friends. With time passing by, your feelings also diminished or at least that´s what you told yourself whenever your heart acted out of line because of him.
Still, you knew and didnt deny yourself the fact that he would always hold a special place in your heart, so you decided to tell him.
Maybe it would even help you to get completely over him without having to face a direct rejection.
He would probably start laughing any moment now before telling you that he had never seen you that way.
“So, you are telling me you have had a crush on me for all this time?” Your heart somehow skipped a beat due to the way he said those words. It almost seemed like he couldn’t believe you but not in a bad way.
“I used to. Past tense” you decided to emphasize, not wanting him to make this a bigger deal than it actually was.
Unbeknownst to you, Oikawa was freaking out at the other end of the line.
He felt like he missed out big time.
He liked you too.
He wasn’t even sure if he was over you yet. It wasn’t like he had time to date around and try to catch feelings for anyone else, not to forget that your contact pretty much gave him a daily reminded how great his best friend was.
He knew that you said that your feelings were in the past, but he couldn’t help but question if maybe he still had a chance if he was there.
“Why didn’t you tell me? You know I would have never broken your poor, little heart” he tried to play it off by acting dumb. The setter truly hoped you couldn’t detect the nervousness in his voice.
“You mean like you did with all these other girls? Come on, we both know you were and probably still are a heartbreaker,” you teased with a small chuckle at the end.
“Y/N-chan!” He whined childishly, “you know you are special to me, right? I would have never rejected you like I did with them”
His statement threw you off a lot more than it should.
How were you supposed to interpret this? Did he mean that he would have been nicer when rejecting you and that he still would have been your friend? Or did he mean that he wouldn’t have rejected you at all?
Those questions clouded your mind, but you didn’t dare to ask.
After all, if the first one was to be true it wouldn’t matter anyway and if he was to tell you that he would have given you a chance, it would probably break your heart even more.
It would mean that you missed your chance and now he was thousands of kilometers away from you.
“How gracious of you! But it doesn’t matter anyway. It’s the past,” you stopped for a moment not sure, if you should add the next part but somehow those words slipped out.
“-and now we are living on different continents. A relationship would be impossible, right?”
“Right”
Both of you kept quiet after this, thinking about what could have been without knowing that the other was having the same thoughts.
Right

midoriya’s part. bakugo’s part.
cw: cheating, crying, mentions of alcohol/under influence of alcohol, suggestive if you squint, kissing.
Tumblr media
kirishima was indescribable.
you'd never before met a man that was so utterly wonderful in every way. every move he made was perfect in your eyes. he could do no wrong.
and he loved you just as hard. he was willing to shout it from the rooftops the second you had an ounce of doubt. you were never his secret--you were his most prized possession; he loved showing you off and flaunting the fact that he, 'had the best partner in the world.'
every one of your friends put money on the two of you getting married and staying together (even bakugo, surprisingly.) you were counting on that outcome.
still, you had disagreements from time to time, just like every other couple, but you had enough patience and sense between the two of you to be rational. you openly discussed your insecurities with each other, only to be met with open arms and gentle reassurances.
you didn't tend to entertain the idea of soulmates, but what other explanation was there? what other phenomenon could be held responsible for your seemingly destined relationship?
whatever it was, you were in love with your soulmate.
that's what you thought, at least.
that's what you thought until he cheated.
he cheated at a party you didn't even want to attend. but, because you loved him, you did. you attended the party only to find your drunken boyfriend eating some random person's face in one of yaoyorozu's million guest rooms. you remembered it so vividly.
it was a sight that was branded in your brain--you couldn't even blink without seeing them together, kissing with such desperation, such hunger.
"ei?" your voice had quivered, phone dropping to the floor, "what.. what're you.."
you wanted to scream when his dazed eyes met yours, glazed over and burning with a look you'd never seen in them before.
"y/n? that's not.." he stammered, looking back and forth between you and the person, "i'm not.. who's this?" as if finally realizing that was not, in fact, you, he shoved them off, crossing the to move towards you.
"you tell me, kirishima! you're the one with your tongue down their throat!" your eyes stung, every part of you trembling with utter betrayal.
"i.. i thought'was you!" he slurred, eyes pleading as he reached out to grab your arm.
you jerked back as if you'd been burned, "me? kirishima, i look nothing like them!" fat tears rolled down your cheeks as you stepped back, blinking quickly to clear your vision.
"s'tp calling me that.. s'not my name." he frowned, "m'so sorry, so sorry.. let's go home, please. let's just go home." he begged, eyes still unfocused. he was definitely not in any condition to drive.
so you decided to take care of him. one last time.
you drove him back to your shared apartment that night, ignoring the questioning looks you received from everyone.
they knew. they'd seen kirishima go upstairs with that person, and yet they let you see it for yourself. likely because you wouldn't have believed that your perfect boyfriend committed such an unspeakable act.
you helped him into the apartment after a long drive consisting of a stop at a gas station to buy some water and kirishima's loud wails and apologies. the entire ride you only spoke three words to him:
"drink your water."
he clung onto you as you guided him to your bedroom, helping him change into more comfortable clothes.
and then the two of you were seated on the bed. silent. alcohol long worn off.
"y/n, please-"
"i'll be gone by the morning. i'm taking everything in one trip." you couldn't look at him. if you did, you'd see his eyes that made you weak, and your resolve would crumble. you would forgive him, you were sure of it. all it took was a look.
"no!" he nearly shouted, sobs racking his body, "no, y/n, you can't. you can't leave me, it was a mistake, i'm so sorry!" his hands tangled in the duvet, presumably because he was too scared to touch you.
"and why can't i," you cursed the way your voice cracked, "kirishima? tell me, please. tell me right now that there is no reason for me to leave you. tell me that you did nothing wrong. tell me that what i saw tonight wasn't real. please tell me i made a mistake, and that i'm crazy, or- or i need glasses or something."
he was trying to talk over you as your voice kept raising, growing more and more desperate as your resolve cracked.
"tell me i didn't see you kiss them!"
he was silent, for his deed was there. out in the open. and he knew he couldn't tell you any of that. it would be a lie. a cold, hard lie you wanted nothing more than to believe.
"thought so." you muttered bitterly, getting up to start packing your clothes. just as you stood, another tsunami of misery slammed into you. you paused, back facing him.
"i just.. don't understand." you whispered, "i thought we were so happy. were you bored? is that it? we've been together so long that you got tired of the same old thing?"
before he could speak, you spoke again, voice heavy with tears, "and why don't i want you to feel the same hurt i do? i should, right? i should be angry and cursing your name and not want to be anywhere near you. i should have left you there at the party and let someone else take care of you."
"why didn't you?" he mumbled after a beat of silence.
"because i'm truly in love with you." you finally looked over to meet his gaze, "i guess soulmates really don't exist, huh?"
-
true to your word, you were gone by morning. you had everything in your car, leaving a note on the counter for kirishima to read once he woke up.
thankfully, you'd arranged to stay with a friend while you searched for a place to relocate. you expected it to take less than a month if you looked consistently and weren't too picky.
what you didn't expect, however, was a message from the one and only katsuki bakugo.
it was him requesting to meet up with you at a coffee shop you were familiar with, which you reluctantly agreed to. as soon as you sent the text, however, you knew it was a bad idea. he was friends with kirishima and was probably only meeting with you because he asked him to.
it was too late, you decided, so you went to get ready for your mysterious rendezvous.
once time rolled around and you were seated at the table with him, you were shocked to find that he met with you on his own accord.
"i don't do people favors. especially cheaters." he’d explained after you mentioned your concern.
it stung. the reminder.
bakugo must've noticed because he swiftly distracted you.
"stop staring off into space, idiot. i invited you here for a reason."
you found that he wanted to help you. when asked why, he just looked off to the side, as if contemplating.
"i know how you feel. let me help you."
"i thought you don't do people favors, bakugo?"
"listen, do you want my help or not?"
you did. you really did. you felt so alone and tired.
so you agreed. and the rest was history.
BONUS:
you eventually fell out of love with kirishima. he'd always have a special place in your heart, but time managed to heal the wound you thought would be the death of you.
of course, you still had love for him, but when you saw the flash of hurt in his eyes after you exchanged vows with bakugo, you couldn’t bring yourself to feel any regret.
Tumblr media
you likes? eh? eh? 👀 seriously tho i hope this was what you wanted 🥺 reblogs appreciated !
are you in pain, @zuroki ? hope so <3

dream x streamer!reader
genre: fluff, angst
word count: 2.4k
warning(s): cursing, failed relationship, throwing things out of anger
synopsis: (y/n) and dream met through a mutual friend and their own friendship begins to blossom on its own. they start talking more and more and the feelings they have for one another grows so much more than either of them imagined. but as they stream together, they realize how much hate they’ve started to get and rethink whether or not they should be together or not.
Tumblr media
looking back on it, meeting dream was one of the best days of your life. that day, your friend, sapnap, had introduced you to one of his friends and from that day forward, a beautiful relationship bloomed. not a single one of either of your viewers knew you two had become friends and it was nice; keeping something to yourself from a whole community that knew almost everything about you. you both went from talking every once in a while, to every week, to every other day, to almost all day, everyday. you grew to know pretty much everything about each other, where he grew up, how his childhood was like, everything from his favorite color to what he feared the most. and as you got to know him more, your feelings for him just grew so much more than you had ever imagined. and you hoped he felt the same way about you.
when he asked you if you wanted to facetime, you were shocked. you guys were only ever either in a discord call, regular call, or texting. granted it had been about 7 months since you both became friends, but you didn’t need to know what he looks like. you like him for the person he is, how caring and attentive he is to his friends, how witty his personality is and how cocky and confident he is. you like him for the passion he has in his heart for the people and things he loves. you never had to see his face to know these things about him. but because you knew this was a big step in your friendship, you accepted. him even asking you to facetime meant so much to you.
he called you with his phone facing the ceiling and you had propped up yours so your upper body was on full display. “clay, you know you don’t have to show me your face? if you’re not ready to, you don’t have to.” you told him. “i’m more than ready to show you what i look like, (y/n). you’re an important person in my life and i want to show you.” he replied. “okay.. if you’re really sure. i just hope you know that whatever you look like, it will not change my opinion of you.” you assured him. “i know, (y/n).” he chuckled. “which is how i know i’m ready to show you.” you smiled. your heart warmed knowing that he trusts you this much. “whenever you’re ready, clay.” you said. “close your eyes,” he said. you did what he asked of you and you heard shuffling. he let out a breath, grabbed his phone and propped it up so you could see his face.
“you can open your eyes now.” he said. you slowly opened your eyes and your breath got caught in your throat as you fully saw him. “wow..” you whispered, still examining his face. “you’re really pretty, clay.” he started blushing and said, “stop staring, you’re just going to fall in love with me.” laughing a bit. you started blushing too and looked away. both your reasons for blushing may have been different, but you knew you were blushing because what he said was true.
for the rest of the night you both stayed up until 3am talking about anything and everything, getting to know each other more than you already did.
the day you both streamed together was about 4 months later. the internet went crazy. your viewers and his had absolutely no idea you two had known each other but they saw the way you two talked to each other; they knew you sounded like you were talking to your soulmate. you didn’t have to watch what you said, you laughed out to your hearts content, you both teased each other in such a flirtatious manner that it didn’t take them long to start thinking you guys were in a relationship.
but with the people who supported you, there were twice as many people who hated the idea of you two together. at first it was bearable, neither of you cared about the hate because you were happy with where you both were with each other. clay was confident that you felt the same way about him that he had for you. he fell in love with you and you knew you had fallen in love with him too.
a few weeks after your first stream together, he asked you if you wanted to fly to florida to meet him in person and you immediately said yes. you started packing your bags and by next week, you were on your way to meet the guy of your dreams.
when you landed, he was already there waiting for you and when you got to baggage claim you saw him and immediately recognized him. you ran up to him and gave him the tightest hug ever; you were finally in his arms. the height difference was evident and he had to lean down a bit to hug you but he felt so content with you being there, in his arms.
“you’re really here..” he whispered. “i’m here, clay. i’m here.” you assured. tears started slowly falling down your face and you buried your face deeper into his chest, taking in the warmth that was filling you. clay started crying too, thinking how lucky he was to be able to hold you close to him.
the day after you flew in was the one year mark of you two becoming friends so you went out to celebrate. throughout the day you guys reminisced back to the nights you both stayed up till the sun rose just talking and created new memories as you adventured through orlando. when it was around 3pm clay drove you to the beach to witness the sunset and you arrived just when the sun was kissing the water. you looked around the beach and saw no one but a beautiful set up with roses on the sand. you looked at clay with a surprised expression, he smiled, took your hand and lead you to where the roses laid. he brought you to stand in the middle of it and took both your hands in his,
“(y/n), when sapnap introduced us i never knew you would be such an important person in my life and i couldn’t be more grateful for you. you have helped me through my darkest times, celebrated with me in my happiest, been patient with me when i was being insufferable, stood by me during the most boring days and acted like you were having a blast when it was only just us talking. you’ve shown me that i can let myself be who i am without caring what any other person had to say about me. there’s so many words that i can’t put together right now because that’s how you make me feel. you make me feel so nervous when i’m around you and all the words in my head just get mixed up and i never know what to say. but i do know that right now, i’m trying to ask you on a date. so (y/n), will you go on a date with me?” by the time he was done with his speech you were close to tears. “of course i’ll go on a date with you clay.”
the night of your date had been the most magical night of your life. in the day you both went to disneyworld and at night he brought you to a hill top to, once again, watch the sunset while you both ate dinner on the hood of the rental car he got. everything was so perfect, it was the best date you’ve ever went on.
he was an absolute gentleman, not letting you pay for your things, opening the door for you, pulling you closer to him when someone got too close to you, treating you like you were a princess and you couldn’t have asked for a better guy to be with.
after you both finished your dinner you just laid down on the hood of the car and stared at the stars, talking about a future you wish had come true. that night you shared a kiss that would be remembered through the horrid months to come.
the day you left orlando, you didn’t think it would be the last time you ever saw clay in person. when you got home you talked like normal, already speaking about a second date the next time either you or he visited. you both missed each other like crazy and you believed you would see each other very soon.
you streamed together more often and no one was blind to the smitten words you both shared, to the adoration dripping in your voices. so many people hated it and you never understood why, was it because they thought you weren’t good enough for him? because they were so protective over him? did they just hate you? so many questions filled your mind when your phone ringing brought you out of it. you reached for your phone and saw that clay wanted to facetime. you answered with a smile on your face, “hi clay!” but it soon dropped when you saw the solemn look that fell upon his. “is everything okay?” you asked. he sighed and said, “we need to talk.”
and everything fell apart.
the next words that came out of his mouth broke your heart. “i don’t think we should continue dating, or maybe even being friends.” you could feel the tears pricking your eyes as you looked around your room, trying to understand why this would come up all the sudden. “what do you mean?” you asked, slightly laughing hoping he was playing some sick joke on you. but when you kept looking at his serious face, you understood he wasn’t and your tears finally fell. he looked at you and his eyes glossed over.
it hurt him knowing he was hurting you; the most important person in his life, the person he believed he would get married to and grow old with, the person he stayed up, losing sleep for just to get to know because you were worth that and a million more.
“i know you see all the hate we’re getting. and that’s only us streaming together. what happens when they find out we went on a date or if we do start dating, what would the fans say?” he said, no longer looking at you through his screen. “why do you care about what they’ll say about us?” you whispered. “look at me, please.” he slowly looked back at the screen to see your face full of tears and that’s what finally broke him.
“our fans. they hate seeing us together, we can’t disappoint them. we can’t dissatisfy them. i know your fans mean the world to you and mine mean the world to me too.” he said, wiping his tears away, wishing he could just wipe yours, kiss your cheek and tell you everything would be okay. “but we can make it work, we won’t stream together as much or at all anymore. we can be like how we were before they knew we were friends! we can make it work clay..” you said. he started getting frustrated, just wanting this to be over with so he didn’t have to see you so hurt anymore.
“i can’t keep going on with my fans hating the relationship i’m in (y/n)! i can’t keep seeing my fans hate you because of me! i can’t keep making my fans mad at me because i have a stupid little crush on you!” he raised his voice. the last sentence hurting you more than anything. and he saw that in your facial expression, immediately regretting it.
“no, (y/n). i- i didn’t mean it like tha-” you cut him off. “a stupid little crush? is that all i was to you clay? a stupid little crush? so what, that whole year we spent getting to know each other was you just having a stupid little crush on me? you asking me to fly to forida to meet you, was that you just having a stupid little crush on me? me actually flying all the way to florida to meet you, did you think i just had a stupid little crush on you? did you think me saying yes to going on a date with you was me just having a stupid little crush? what, did that date mean nothing to you? did that kiss mean nothing? did you not mean anything you said to me the night you asked me on that date? because i meant every single thing i said to you clay. you’ve impacted my life so much in such a good way, but i guess you didn’t feel the same way. was i just a joke? just someone to play with while you were bored?” you asked, not wanting to believe what he was saying.
“no, that’s not what i meant.” he sighed. “then why can’t we work things out!? i don’t understand, clay. if you really did mean everything you told me on that beach then why aren’t you trying harder for us?” you asked, disappointment dripping through your voice. “because i just don’t think we’d work out okay!” he yelled at you. neither of you spoke, just looking at each other. he saw the nasty glare and look of hurt wash over your face. “that’s all you needed to tell me.” you whispered.
you hung up and as soon as the call was disconnected you sobbed. you cried your eyes out. the guy you were in love with made you believe he wasn’t in love with you. you were absolutely devastated and you didn’t know if you’d ever be as happy as you were with him.
---------
in florida, sat a man with his phone clutched in his hands, tears streaming down his face that didn’t look like they would stop anytime soon. he whispered, “what have i done?” he screamed, he threw things, broke picture frames, punched the wall. but doing all those things would never bring you back to him.

Set You Free (Wanda Maximoff/ Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hello friends!
Once more, double Lizzie!
Buckle up... it's a bumpy ride. :)
The sight of your ceiling etched itself permanently in your mind because that was all you were capable of doing. Staring at the ceiling. Wasting away. The concept was much more appealing than the decision that awaited you when the sun rose over the horizon.
Regardless of what you did you’d be breaking the heart of someone you loved. You had to face that.
Your own heart be damned. You’d break yourself a hundred times over if you believed for even a second that it would spare them.
Except you knew it wouldn’t. You knew that even not making a decision would be making a decision. Your heart thudded anxiously against your sternum at the thought, the deafening sound ringing in your ears.
The words they’d both said playing over and over in your mind. Every touch… every kiss.
All of it spinning rapidly in your mind until you were sure that no other thoughts would ever be capable of existing there ever again.
__________________
It had been twenty-four hours since you slept, give or take, and it took everything within yourself to drag your body out of bed and into the shower as a last-ditch attempt of clearing your mind.
It didn’t work. Of course, it didn’t.
Why would it?
After getting dressed, you took a deep, calming breath hoping that even for just one second the world would stop spinning and you would be able to focus your thoughts.
Again, it didn’t work.
Without thinking, you grabbed your keys and left the seclusion of your home. You needed to do something, not just wallow in your own agony and hope the answers would appear out of thin air. They deserved more than that. They deserved effort.
When you arrived at your destination, your hands trembled with each step you took up the familiar path. You clenched them into fist just for the sake of eliminating the issue.
Everything was amplified as you willed your hand to raise and knock on the door. The knock against the door reverberated through your sleep deprived mind. When the door swung open and your eyes met hers, you felt the tension drain from your shoulders. Even if it was just a bit.
“Wanda.” You breathed out, leaning into her automatically, sighing contently when her arms wrapped tightly around you.
You could vaguely feel her pull you into her apartment. “Y/n, you look exhausted. Did you sleep at all?”
Shutting your eyes, you hummed against her shoulder. “What time is it?” You asked dazedly.
“8 am.” She replied wearily.
Her fingers soothingly running through your hair almost lulled you to sleep until you heard her call your name again. “Oh. Right. No, I didn’t.”
The feeling of her gentle touch on your cheeks forced your eyes open again as you met her worried eyes. Those gentle eyes that you’d come to live for. “Moya lyubov’. You need to sleep. Come with me.”
Every movement felt disconnected from your body as the lack of sleep finally caught up to you. Wanda gently guided you over to the bed you had spent dozens of nights comfortably tucked into. The feeling heaven sent as she pulled the comforter over your shoulders.
You felt cared for. Loved.
“Wanda?” She hummed. “Can you stay with me?”
There was no response and for a moment you were sure she had left until you felt the warmth of her body gently turn you on your side as she crawled into the bed behind you. The familiar feeling of comfort overcame you as you felt her arms wrap tightly around your midsection and pull you close.
The scent of sandalwood invading all of your senses and the soft sound of her humming in your ear was the last thing your mind processed before you drifted off into a dreamless slumber.
When you opened your eyes again, you saw the sun significantly lower in the sky than when you had first arrived. Rubbing the sleep from your eyes, you made your way out of the warmth of Wanda’s bedroom and into the cold of the kitchen where you found the other woman at the stove.
The sight was familiar. Soothing.
“Wanda?” You called out, your voice still thick with sleep.
She spun around to face you, her eyes widened slightly in surprise, but the smile on her face was warm. “Good morning, Krasivaya. Well... afternoon I suppose. I was wondering when you’d finally wake up.” She said lightly.
You wandered over to her and rested your head on her chest as her arms wrapped easily around your waist. “Is that hot chocolate?”
Her lips pressed lightly against your hairline. “It is. I thought you could use a pick-me-up.” You smiled lightly with the ease of the moment. The ease of being with Wanda. The ease of… Everything.
“What time is it?” You eventually asked after allowing yourself to relish in the peace for just the briefest moment.
You could feel her lift her wrist to her face. “It’s just about to be 5. You slept for nine hours.” Her body shook slightly with her giggle and you couldn’t help the way your lips quirked up at the sound. Until you remembered what that time meant.
“I… I have to go.” You mumbled, stepping back awkwardly.
Wanda’s smile faltered, and your chest clenched at the sight. “I understand.”
You pressed a soft kiss to her lips, lightly brushing your thumb along her jaw.
When she pulled back and looked at you with a mix of love and pain you knew you couldn’t lose her. The thought alone terrified you.
With one final kiss, you turned and made your way to your car.
Love was supposed to be easy. With Wanda it was easy. It always had been. Falling in love with Wanda was as simple as breathing. You couldn’t lose that.
The racing thoughts in your mind made the drive feel like it passed in seconds. Your heart was anxiously pounding against your rib cage, and you were sure it was moments away from beating right out of your chest.
A selfish part of you wished that it would because then you would be spared from having to hurt someone.
Glancing at the clock on your dashboard, you saw it was 6 which meant there would no more opportunity to avoid the inevitable.
It was time to face the reality of what was about to happen.
The steps you took down the path felt never ending, each movement heavy. Heavy to complete, heavy on your heart. The situation felt familiar though, as if you had tread this path before.
The further down the path you walked, the more you became sure that the path would be something you could never come back from. You would never be able to change the outcome.
When you finally reached the clearing, you found her, and you couldn’t help but think back to all the moments that you had spent here with her before. The happy moments. The moments before life caught up to you both. A place of happiness.
A place that had originally started out as yours, until you realized that everything that was yours was hers too.
Leigh’s smile when she saw you made your heart clench, but you kept moving forward. You found yourself unable to stop yourself from smiling back at her. Especially since this might be the last smile she would ever give you. You wanted to curl in on yourself at the thought alone.
“How do you even remember this place?” You asked, still surprised that she was able to find you in a place you hadn't been to together in years.
Her shoulders lifted slightly in a small shrug. “Because I spent the last two years coming here when life got too much.”
Your breath hitched with her words. “Why?” You asked even though you weren’t sure if you wanted to know the answer.
“Because it always reminded me of peaceful times.” She laughed slightly. “Looking back now, I guess I would just come here and hope in the back of my mind that one day you’d be sitting under this tree like you used to when we were kids.”
For a moment you let the words wash over you because even if you didn’t say it out loud, that was why you found yourself seeking out this former place of comfort as well. “Leigh…”
Her smile fell when you finally met her gaze. The eyes that were shining happily just moments before were now filled with tears. Your heart broke at the sight. You couldn’t do anything to make her feel better though because you were the cause.
You caused her pain.
“It’s her.” She whispered, her voice thick with emotion. It wasn’t a question. You didn’t have to say anything. Leigh knew you well enough to know where you stood without words.
She sounded like she was about to cry, then she took a breath and it was gone. “I’m setting you free, Leigh.” You murmured passed the lump that had formed in your throat.
“Maybe I don’t want you to set me free, Y/n.” The response was quick. Like the slipping of words that weren’t intended to see the light of day. Her sharp intake of breath confirmed that. The words dug deeply into the furthest crevices of your heart, making the world around you darker as you fought to push down the emotions that they evoked. “Did you love me too?”
The silence that hung in the air was heavy with words left unspoken. Heavy with emotion that pressed down on your chest like bricks. “I did love you, Leigh. Beyond words. And I think… I think that sometimes you loved me too.” You eventually said. Your words were quiet, as if they were a secret meant just for you two. You kicked absently at the leaves beneath your feet to distract yourself. “We were just never able to get our timing right. And maybe that was a sign.”
A weak chuckle filled the air around you. “I didn’t love you sometimes, Y/n. I loved you always. Even when I didn’t say it. Even when you walked away... Even when I walked away” The tears that fell burned a path down your cheeks as you quietly listened to her. “We didn’t lose each other because of time. I think we lost each other by waiting for the other to admit that we were in love... Two soulmates who could never find each other even when we were standing right in front of each other.”
Your heart fragmented and you could feel the broken pieces hammer in your chest. “Leigh-”
“You know, I may not have been daylight for you… But you were my moon and stars… And when you left you took them with you. You were my light in darkness. I’m sorry that I turned off the light.”
The air became razor blades around you as it became impossible to breathe.
You couldn’t find it within yourself to meet her eyes. “I’m sorry, Leigh.” She didn’t respond, and you didn’t expect her to. “I’m so sorry.”
A tense silence hung in the air as though you were both trapped in limbo. Both terrified to move. To let go.
“Do you regret it?” You asked softly, the words so quiet you were certain they barely reached her ears.
Your heart thudded in agony when she refused to look at you. “Do I regret what?”
“I don’t know.” Your voice shook. “Everything.” Leigh was quiet for a long moment and you could feel heat burn the skin of your cheeks. You knew you should have left well enough alone.
Just as you opened your mouth to apologize to her for asking, she finally said, “Just because we didn’t work out doesn’t mean that you weren’t the best thing that ever happened to me… Because you were.”
“Yeah.” You said thickly, feeling the tears prickle in your eyes. “You, too.” You wanted to tell her that you wanted to fight for her, but you didn’t know how. You wanted to tell her of the fear that had become a permanent fixture in your heart. You wanted to tell her that it wasn’t her fault.
The battle had felt like it was lost long before it had even begun.
Instead you said nothing.
Leigh stepped closer to you, her eyes glazed over with unshed tears. “One last kiss.”
Your hand found her cheek as your palm slid against her skin. You nodded and pressed your lips to hers.
Soaring.
That’s what it always felt like when she was pressed against you like this. You felt the rush of helplessness, and a surge of emotion that filled you with warmth and she clung to you as if you were the only solid thing in this dizzying world.
Her mouth was insistent against yours and you could feel the shake of her lips that sent tremors through every nerve ending in your body. You slowed the kiss down. You needed to remember this. Everything... Before it was gone for good. Like how sweet her lips tasted even over the salty tears that fell from your eyes.
The kiss goodbye lasted years in your mind, yet it still wasn't long enough.
Then she stepped away and the spell was broken. You dazedly allowed your fingertips to brush away the stray tears on her cheeks even if they were replaced with fresh tears a moment later.
“I won’t love you forever, but I’m terrified I might. I won't stand in your way though” Leigh whispered, the words against your lips, sending chills down your spine. “Goodbye, Y/n.”
Before you could say anything, she pulled away, her hand slowly trailing down your arm until it stopped at your fingers. You could feel her lightly squeeze three times before she turned, and you quietly watched her walk away.
Every word stolen from your lips because what could you say? You had made the choice. When she had disappeared in the distance, your gaze fell to the grass where she had just stood and couldn’t help but ache.
Losing her was one of the worst things you could face, but you survived it once before. Loving her was a worse pain. It had to be.
You knelt slowly in the grass, the weight of the situation forcing you to your knees. When you attempted to stand again, you couldn’t move. It was as if the grief you felt changed everything within yourself entirely.
If this was what you wanted, why was it killing you inside to let her go?
___________________
Wanda shifted slightly in your arms and you tightened your hold around her, pulling her closer. Always pulling her closer. You could see her shift closer to you in her sleep and you couldn’t help but smile slightly at the sight.
You glanced at the clock to see the time glaring brightly back at you. 6 am. You hadn’t slept well in the last three days, but you didn’t want Wanda to know that. She would just worry.
Eventually, you were able to fall into a fitful sleep as the sun began peeking over the horizon.
The door opened, and you forced an unconvincing smile on your lips. “I did it. It’s over.” You said quietly.
Wanda just stared back at you with her brows furrowed in concern. “Are you okay?”
“I’m okay.” You mumbled as Wanda let you inside.
The concern never faded from her features. “You don’t have to pretend to be. It’s okay if you’re not.” Wanda said cautiously, her arm wrapped around you.
As if she said the magic word, the fake smile crumpled, and you felt the tears begin welling in your eyes. Wordlessly, she pulled you into her arms. You melted into the embrace, bunching your hands into the front of her sweater as quiet sobs fell from your lips. “I choose you, Wanda… but it hurt to let her go.” You whispered through tears.
With a start, you opened your eyes to the bright room, groaning when you saw how late in the afternoon it was. Even though you shouldn’t have, you closed your eyes again. The world was dull. And you couldn’t get out of bed.
You should be happy. So why weren’t you?
After another hour in bed, you knew you couldn’t avoid it anymore. Using all your willpower, you rolled out of bed and made your way to the bathroom. Forcing yourself through the motions as you brushed your teeth, showered and got ready for the remainder of the day.
It wasn’t until you looked in the mirror that you stopped. In the mirror your eyes met your own and you could hardly recognize yourself. You forced a smile, quickly dropping it when you realized how unbelievable it looked. You sighed.
The feeling was reminiscent to the night of the wedding. Only this time you made the decision. You made this choice. You loved Wanda. You wanted to be with Wanda. She was your daylight. You loved her. You just needed to get out of this rut.
The mantra looped in your mind as you made your way downstairs and into the living room. You smiled slightly when you saw Wanda curled up on the couch, an old sitcom playing on the screen in front of her.
“Hey.” You said, getting her attention, before you took a seat next to her. “What are you watching?”
She smiled back at you, but it was soft. Sad even. “I think we should break up.” Wanda replied suddenly, ignoring your question.
“What?’ You sputtered in shock at her words. If your heart wasn’t already broken, you were sure it would have been now.
Wanda reached a hand over to soothingly stroke your cheek. “Y/n. I love you.”
You placed your hand over hers to keep her there. To anchor yourself. “If you love me, why are you leaving me?”
A sigh fell from her lips as a single tear rolled down her cheek. “Because you made the wrong choice.” She whispered.
Her thumb soothingly running along your cheek bone did nothing to ease the chaos in your mind. “What do you mean? I lo-”
“You’re not in love with me.” Wanda interrupted quietly. “I know that we would be happy, and I can see us spending the rest of our lives together… but you weren’t meant for me.”
Tears prickled your eyes as you stared helplessly into the beautiful emeralds that you’d come to adore. “I choose you though, Wanda. I want you.”
The tears that fell down her cheeks made you want to scream. You never wanted to hurt Wanda when all she had done was love you, yet you had still managed to do it anyway.
“Who you want and who you need are sometimes two different people.” She said sadly. “It would be selfish of me to keep you when I know your heart is with Leigh.”
You gently wiped away her tears. “But Wanda, I-”
“I’m setting you free, Y/n.” The words hit you and you recoiled slightly. She licked her lips as she seemed to contemplate her next words. “I’m setting you free because I love you and I don’t want you wonder what could have been if you had actually listened to your heart. I’ll be okay.”
All you could do was collapse into her chest, the tears flowing freely and feeling like they would never end. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” You repeated until your voice was horse.
The tears the fell onto your neck made you weep more as Wanda stroked your hair. Both of you allowing yourself to relish in the embrace. As much as you tried to fight the knowledge, Wanda was right. It was Leigh. Even if you desperately wished it was Wanda, you couldn’t change the composition of your heart.
You loved Wanda, but you’d never be able to match the love she gave you. Not when the vast majority of your heart would always be in the hands of another as long as you were breathing. It wouldn't be fair.
Two years away just taught you how to muffle the way your heart still screamed out her name.
After what must have been an hour, Wanda pulled away, her eyes still distraught. “Remember that night when you said that we can chose what to define ourselves as?” You nodded slightly, your mind drifting to the night you spent together looking at the stars. A fond memory. “Don’t let yourself be defined by your fear… As much as it breaks my heart to say this, go get her. Let yourself be defined by love. Don’t let the end of us be in vain.”
You swallowed thickly. “I do love you, Wanda.”
She smiled weakly at you. “I know. I love you, too.” Wanda pressed a soft kiss to your forehead and you closed your eyes at the contact. “I should go now.”
When you opened your eyes, your heart clenched in your chest at the sight of her. The sight of her pain. “I’m sorry, Wanda.” You repeated again.
She shook her head slightly. “I’ll be okay.” As she made her way to the front door, she turned to face you. “Learning to forgive ourselves and others because we haven’t chosen wisely is what makes us human. We make mistakes. You and Leigh have made mistakes. Don’t let the fear from the past ruin the future.”
“I won’t.” You whispered, she sent one last weak smile your way before leaving. The door closing behind her sent a new influx of tears rolling down your cheeks as you tried desperately to process what had just happened.
________________________
After the talk with Wanda, it took you several days to work up the courage to reach out to Leigh again. The fear of the past and the fear that you had ruined the future still kept you up at night and made it almost impossible to function. You had to try though. You couldn’t let her slip away without her knowing that it was her… Even if she didn’t want you anymore. She deserved to know that her love wasn’t in vain. That she was right. It was always going to be her.
A quiet curse slipped past your lips when your call when straight to voicemail and a quick glance at your text messages further confirmed what you had already suspected. You were blocked. You couldn’t even blame her because when the roles were reversed you fell off the face of her earth entirely.
Your heart dropped at the thought that you would be forced to live through the same outcome once again. Stuck in the cruel cycle of tragic timing.
Except you wouldn’t let that happen again. You couldn’t. You refused to let her be the one that got away. Never before had a decision been clearer to you. Once the walls fell, everything else came crashing down around them.
As you ran around your house searching for the keys to your car you pulled up Jules’ contact and hit call hoping that she would answer. After several rings you were sure the attempt was fruitless when-
“What could you possibly want, Y/n?”
You winced at the bite in Jules’ words. Sometimes you forgot how punishing Shaw’s could be when they wanted to. “I just-… Is Leigh there? I think I’m blocked.”
“For good reason.” Jules snapped. “She just stopped crying. And I don’t mean a couple of tears because she was sad. I’m talking about collapsing and sobbing at the sky tears.”
Tears began falling down your cheeks with Jules’ words. You clenched your eyes shut to push through. “Jules, I’m sorry. I need to make this right. Please. Help me make this right.” You took a shaky breath. “Is she home? Can I see her?”
“We’re leaving, Y/n.”
The world stopped spinning. You were sure of it. “What?” You choked out.
“We’re leaving.” Jules repeated, her tone softer. “I’m going to Vietnam and Leigh decided to come with me. I don’t know how long we’ll be gone.”
Your knees felt like they would give out under the weight of her words. “When?”
There was a brief moment of silence. “Today. We’re leaving in a few minutes actually.” A lump built in your throat because you couldn’t believe that you lost her. Again. And you were entirely to blame.
“Jules-”
“I have to go now. I’m sorry, Y/n. Take care of yourself.”
Before you could get another word out the dial tone filled your ears. “No.” You mumbled to yourself. “No, no, no.”
Grabbing your keys, you sprinted out the door, breaking several laws to get to Leigh’s house. You had to see her. To tell her that she was right. That no one else made sense. It was always her from the very beginning and it would always be her until the very end.
Your heart was Leigh Shaw and it didn’t matter how hard you tried to push her out, you couldn’t. You’d spend the rest of your life with her name etched into every part of your soul. She was in your veins and there was no way you’d ever get her out. You didn’t want to. Not when you finally knew that she loved you too. Not when you were finally ready to face your fears and take the leap of faith.
A loud curse slipped past your lips when you were a block away from Leigh only to see the road blocked off from some unnecessary LA construction. That wasn’t going to stop you.
You could run the rest of the way. You’d crawl there if you had to.
Quickly parking your car off the side of the road you stepped out and began sprinting in the direction of the house. Hoping and praying with everything within yourself that you weren’t too late.
The sight that greeted you when you finally made it to the house made your heart stop. You slowed to a stop. Leigh’s mother was making her way back into the house after waving to a car that had already made it half way up the street. Even sprinting you wouldn’t be able to catch it.
You were too late.
Leigh would become your greatest what-if. No matter how hard you tried it seemed the universe was adamant about keeping you two apart. The timing of the car in the distance proving that more than anything.
Except this time you had no one to blame but yourself.
With a heavy heart, you dropped your head and turned around. You couldn’t bear to see the car disappear from sight. Taking with it the love of your life and the one thing you never got right.
Desperately you fought back a sob, as you began your slow trek back in the direction you came from. The hole in your chest making the task feel almost impossible. You just wanted to be alone and wallow in the misery that was a cause of your own indecision.
Everything around you quickly faded into nothing as your body went numb. The feeling reminiscent from the night of her wedding when you lost her the first time… only this was worse. So much worse. Your heartbreak was caused by your own hands and it was your burden to bear alone. You could have been happy.
Almost. Maybe. Perhaps. So close. Could have. That’s all you had ever been with Leigh and it seemed that you were destined to finish that way as well.
Heartbreak would be her name, echoing over and over again in your mind until the end of time.
“Y/N! Y/N!”
Your heart leapt in your chest at the sound as you quickly turned. The sight rendered you immobile because there was Leigh. Not in the car. Not disappearing in the distance. Not in another country. There. Running at you with tears streaming down her cheeks.
The ability to breath became almost impossible as she got closer and closer. Then suddenly she was where she was always supposed to be. In your arms.
Her tears soaked through your shirt as she openly cried into your chest and you could do nothing but allow your tears to flow as well as you just held one another tightly.
As if you were both scared any movement would make the other disappear.
“I love you.” You gasped in her hair. “I love you so much and I’m so sorry. I was scared. I don’t expect anything back. You don’t even need to reply. I just needed you to know that I love you, Leigh Shaw. I always have and now I know that I always will.”
Leigh pulled back slightly to stare at you with parted lips, her watery eyes searching yours. “I love you, too.” She breathed out, giving you a watery smile. “That was just the end of the chapter, not the end of our story.”
Your heart soared, and you gave her a smile of your own. Because finally… finally. There was no one running away, you were just running towards one another like you always should have been.
Like two magnets, you were both drawn into a passionate kiss. The kind of kiss that breaks open the sky and steals your breath away.
The kiss showed you that every other kiss you’d had in your life had been wrong.
Her fingers slid into your hair, pulling you closer, as close as physically possible. You were sure your heart had exploded under her touch. All you wanted was Leigh. The feeling of her in your arms – all of her – pressed flush to you. It was right, and your heart had never felt more whole.
The moment was interrupted by a hand lightly tapping your face. You and Leigh pulled apart with matching expressions of confusion, your arms still wrapped tightly around one another. “Hi, yeah, did you forget about something?” Jules asked sarcastically.
Your heart dropped as you looked over at Leigh, remembering the fact that she was leaving. “Jules, I-” Leigh began.
Jules face broke out in a smile. “I was kidding. Don’t even worry about it” She waved a hand dismissively. “You were planning on buying your ticket when we got to LAX anyway.”
You could feel Leigh lean into you in relief, her head tucked just under your chin. “You’re not mad?”
“Of course not. I’ve been waiting for you two idiots to admit you were in love since I was five.” You smiled, feeling a blush creep up your neck. “Besides... now no one will judge me about how I do things on the trip. I'm kind of relieved.”
You chuckled as you absently ran a hand up and down Leigh’s back. “I resent that.” Leigh mumbled.
“But do you deny it?” You asked teasingly.
There was a short pause. “No... but I resent it.” You could feel her press a kiss to your collarbone and you smiled.
For a moment the three of you stood in comfortable silence. “Leigh?” Jules called.
“Mhm?” She mumbled into your neck.
“I’m happy for you…” She paused and looked at you meaningfully. “For both of you. I think this is where you both have always belonged.”
Leigh lifted her head and smiled back at Jules. Your heart fluttered at the sight. “Yeah. I think so too. How about you?” She asked as she looked at you with glimmering eyes.
You melted under her gaze. The sharp edges faded away. “I think so.” You breathed out, smiling lovingly back at her.
Jules clapped and you both turned your heads to look at her. “Alright, kids. Don’t do anything stupid while I’m gone. Like elope or something.” She pointed warningly at Leigh. “I’m serious. I have dibs on maid of honor. You can’t take that moment from me because I’ll be out of the country.”
You laughed awkwardly as Jules got back into the car and drove off. “I think Jules is planning our wedding for us and we aren’t even official yet.”
Leigh stroked your cheek tenderly. You felt every nerve ending in your body burst at the simple touch because of the love in her eyes when she did it. “Well, I don’t know when you’ll be ready for titles, but I hope you know I don’t plan on letting you go again.”
She leaned in, so her lips were ghosting over yours. You smiled. “I don’t plan on letting you go either.”
With a smile, Leigh connected your lips again and you lost yourselves in one another.
And when Leigh proposed to you a year later you said yes without hesitation because while there weren’t many things in life you were certain of, you would always be certain of her. You loved her and you didn't plan on letting her go.
And with that... we have concluded with the Leigh/ Wanda story. I would just like to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for reading this story and being so passionate about it. I would not have done it without the support from all of you.
I loved each essay I got defending the girls and every single comment that you all made defending your position. I am a little heartbroken to see this story come to an end because as much as I love my other stories, this is my favorite thing I've ever written.
Anyway, sorry for getting sappy. Please let me know all your thoughts and comments I'm so excited/ nervous to hear what you all think! I hope you enjoyed taking this journey with me.
p.s. shout out to @sokoalex and @abimess for helping me find the Leigh gif!

Finding Love (L.F)
Warnings : like one swear word, mentions of divorce, reader doesn’t believe in love
Word Count : 2891
Synopsis : her best friend set her up on 7 dates for a project he called “finding love”, but none of the guys made her heart flutter the way he does.
“Okay, so there’s just some final questions you have to answer.” I nodded, barely looking at my best friend, thinking about the conversation I had with his professor just a few days prior.
“I hope Felix’s grade won’t suffer because I didn’t find love with this project.” I told her. “He worked really hard, picking out 7 different guys he thought would compliment me well. And they were all lovely, but Miss, I just don’t believe in love. I tried because I don’t want Felix to fail, but none of them sparked anything in me.”
“Y/N, Felix’s grade will not suffer just because you didn’t find love, though I don’t think that’s true. Forgive me if I cross a line, but I believe you already found love before this project began, but you’re scared. For you, love has always equaled loss, and this person is someone you could never lose, so you refuse to love them. Think about it for a minute.”
“Felix is my best friend.” I countered and watched as she smiled.
“I never said it was him.” I just stared at her, going through her words again. “Think about it, Y/N. Love isn’t as scary as it seems.”
“Did you enjoy the dates you went on?” I met his eyes, pretending like I was listening the whole time. I nodded and watched as he wrote my answer down. “Let’s go through each of the dates and then continue the rest of the questions.” Again I nodded as Felix set the papers down and focused all his attention on me.
Chan was the first guy I went on a date with for Felix’s project. He picked me up and I felt comfortable with him as soon as I opened the door. He greeted me with a warm smile and an awkward laugh as he stumbled over his introduction.
We ended up at his place, ordering some food and watching dumb romcoms on Netflix. The two of us laughed at the over-the-top cringey moments, and at some point, we fell asleep. I don’t remember falling asleep, I just remember waking up some time later, wrapped up in Chan’s arms with him still asleep.
It was an enjoyable date, something very lowkey, but there was no spark. It felt more like a hang out than a date.
“Did you just leave while he was sleeping?” Felix asked with a chuckle.
“No! Of course not!” I countered, laughing at how ridiculous that would be. “I woke him up and he walked me home.” Felix nodded, urging me to go on.
Minho was next, and at first he seemed like he’d rather be anywhere else, but he quickly opened up. “I figured since it was a nice day, we could have a picnic.” He told me with a smile as he walked towards the park.
It was really relaxing. We just sat on the blanket he brought, munching on the food he made while getting to know each other. He told me about his family and his friends, what he was studying, and what he hoped to accomplish in life. If I’m honest, I could listen to Minho talk about his dreams for hours and not get bored.
When he asked me about myself, it was like I drew a blank. The only stories I could come up with were all about Felix. How we met, how we agreed to attend the same college so we wouldn’t be separated, how he is the only person I’d ever need in my life.
           “You talked about me?”
“You seem surprised.” I laughed. “You already know you’re my favourite person. Of course I’m going to talk about you.”
“Look at you being cute.” I felt the heat rise to my cheeks at the compliment, something that didn’t happen with the guys I went on dates with. Sure, they complimented me, and I was flattered, but they didn’t seem to effect me the way Felix does. “Continue!”
To me, the date with Minho was the most intimate. It’s the one that felt the most like a date. But again, the spark wasn’t there.
Changbin was the third, and I must say I was surprised. I’ve heard the rumours about him around the school, so when he took me to the planetarium, I was rather surprised. “Felix said you were into astronomy.” I smiled so wide when we got inside and the show began. I spouted off random facts I knew to Changbin who seemed really interested in what I had to say. He listened to every word I said, and even spouted off some of his own facts.
It was like running into an old friend, someone you haven’t seen in years but missed dearly. We clicked immediately and it felt like finding a safe place. For a minute I wondered if this is what people were talking about when they found their soulmates. But the longer I spent with Changbin, the more I realized that the connection I was feeling was purely platonic, on both ends. He’s definitely someone I see in my future, but only as a friend.
“Hey, at least we’re getting somewhere!” Felix explained. “For a whole minute you thought he could be it!” I laughed at how excited Felix seemed, but my heart seemed to fall to my stomach. Why was he so focused on me finding love? Why does he seem excited to see if I fell for one of the guys he set me up with? “Keep going! 3 down, 4 to go!” He smiled at me, and I felt butterflies erupt in my stomach. No. No that’s not right. I must have eaten something weird.
Hyunjin took me to an escape room. I’d always wanted to do one but was always scared. Hyunjin didn’t really give me a choice, telling me I would have loads of fun. So, we went. Unfortunately, he chose one of the hardest rooms they offered, thinking we were smart enough to escape.
It was fun looking around different rooms, trying to find the clues to escape. He was really easy to work with, and though we didn’t escape, we made it pretty far. We then grabbed some ice cream and just walked around, learning more about each other, and complaining about how difficult the room was. “You know, if I wasn’t so distracted by how pretty you looked, we totally could have escaped!”
“Oh so you’re saying it’s my fault?” I giggled, taking another bite of my ice cream.
“It is! But it’s okay, I forgive you.” He smiled as he stole a bite of my ice cream.
“Yah!” I screamed before quickly stealing a bite from his and sticking my tongue out at him.
“You’re lucky you’re cute.” We parted ways soon after, but I had a smile on my face the rest of the day. It was really fun and something I wasn’t expecting from these dates.
“Would you go out with Hyunjin again?” I shook my head and Felix’s wide smile seemed to faulter. “Well moving on then!”
The date with Jisung was the most cliché, but it was still a lot of fun! We went to the amusement park and spent the day riding all the rides and even trying our hand at the different games. I’m fairly sure I ate my weight in sweets that day, but Jisung didn’t judge, and honestly ate more than I did.
I was nervous at first, but I was quick to fall out of that and just be myself. Jisung is someone that makes you feel comfortable being whatever kind of person you are.
As the sun set, we finished the day off on the ferris wheel. Super cliché, but it was really cute how excited he was. So I followed him onto the ferris wheel and took in just how beautiful the amusement park looked at night time, with all the lights on and couples walking around hand in hand.
He walked me right up to my front door and told me to have a good night. I watched as he walked away out of sight before heading inside. My feet were aching, but I couldn’t stop the smile from forming.
“Let me guess. Still no spark?”
           “No spark.”
           “Well okay, date number 6!”
Seungmin took me to the aquarium, and it was so much prettier than I remembered. The last time I was there, my parents took me and my older brother. I remember looking at all the pretty colours, in awe of just how pretty the fish looked.
This time around, though I was still in awe at how pretty everything was, I was more focused on watching the little kids run around in amazement, wondering if that’s what my brother and I looked like to the adults when we came.
Seungmin seemed really nervous the whole time, barely saying a word and instead leaving most of the talking up to me. But he didn’t seem annoyed, instead he seemed intrigued by all my stories. He shared a couple of his favourite memories about the aquarium and told me why it was his favourite place. “Let me take a picture of you!” I exclaimed at one point. “To add to your memories at your favourite place.” I think that was the moment I first saw him smile wide. It was so precious, and I would have done almost anything to see it again.
“Oh so you’ll go to the aquarium with Seungmin but not me!?” Felix pouted and crossed his arms over his chest.
“Yah! It was your idea that I go on these dates!” He continued to pout. “Okay fine. Let’s go to the aquarium sometime.” He smiled wide, uncrossing his arms and clapping. “You are probably the weirdest person I know.”
“But you love me!” More than I think both of us realized. “But enough about us, what about date number 7.”
The date with Jeongin was the most unexpected as he took me to the library. We picked out a book for the other to read, found somewhere secluded to sit, and began to read. At some point, he handed me a headphone, and we listened to music together as we quietly read.
Every once in a while, he would do or say something that would make me laugh. It’s like he made it his mission to make me laugh as loud as possible and get us kicked out. It worked, by the way. I have no idea what he said, but I couldn’t contain my laughter, and the two of us got kicked out.
We ended up at a quiet café just down the block and just talked. We talked about the book we were reading, about school, friends, family, past, aspirations for the future. He was the easiest to open up to. He never looked at me with a look of pity, the way others do when they find out my tragic past, and instead made a joke to lighten up the mood.
I think I spent the longest time with Jeongin. We just kept telling stories and laughing and before we knew it, the barista was coming up to us to tell us they were closing. Neither of us even noticed it was dark out.
“So it seems like all 7 dates were successful in one way or another.”
“I suppose you could say that.” His professor’s words kept ringing in my mind. My whole life, I’ve believed love was something just in books and movies. I would see the couples on campus claiming to be in love, just to break up later.
I watched my parents argue every single day before divorcing. I watched my brother fall head over heels in love with a girl who played with his feelings. A part of me wanted someone to come along and change my views on love. Show me that love can be a beautiful thing. Falling in love was a risk, and I just wanted someone to be worth the risk.
And as I sat beside my best friend, recounting the seven dates he set me up on, I was hit with the realization that I found my person a long time ago. Felix was the person I turned to when I needed a shoulder to cry on, he was the first person I wanted to tell all good news to. When I pictured my future, he’s right there beside me.
He was right in front of me this entire time, and I just refused to believe it. As much as I hate to admit it, his professor was right. To me, love has always equaled loss. You love someone, you lose them. Felix is the only person in my life I couldn’t lose. It would be like losing a piece of me.
“So out of the seven of them, is there someone you’d consider going out with again?” Felix picked up his papers he previously set down on the table, no longer looking at me.
“No.” I answered simply, completely coming to terms with the fact that I’m in love with my best friend. “They’re great guys, but I think I know someone better.” I smiled, looking down at my hands clasped in my lap.
“You do?” Suddenly, the project he’s been working so hard on was forgotten. He looked at me, and I looked right back, admiring his soft features. I guess a part of me always knew he was the one for me, it was just waiting for the rest of me to catch up.
“I do.” I responded, my voice barely above a whisper. “He’s the best person I know. And honestly, he’s the only person I’d consider going on a second date with.”
“Did you go on a date I didn’t know of?” He asked, looking through all of his notes, trying to see if maybe he had missed something. Maybe he had set you up with 8 people but forgot. But there was only one name in his notes that could be a possible 8th date. A name he wrote down in case one of the others turned down this experiment. A name surrounded by question marks; his own.
“Why is your name written down?” I asked, pointing at the notes he was looking through. “I think I’d remember going on a date with you.” I giggled, looking up at him.
“Oh, I was just a back up. In case one of the others fell through.” I nodded, coming to that conclusion myself. But the thought of going on a date with him gave me butterflies.
“I think for the sake of the experiment, you should see if you could be the one to prove me wrong.” He stared at me with wide eyes, obviously wondering what was going through my head. “I mean, you do know me the best. I think if you tried you could win me over.”
“The project specifically said 7, Y/N.” I slumped back in my seat.
“Unfortunate. Well I guess we could go on a date just because.”
“What?” I let out a small laugh at his bewildered expression before sitting up in my seat, leaning closer to him.
“I’m asking you out.” The words didn’t seem to register in his brain, so I continued. “I talked to your professor, and she opened my eyes. She told me that for me, love always equaled loss, so I never let myself fall in love, especially with you. Because, you’re the one person I can’t lose.” I watched as his expression changed as the words registered.
“Are you confessing to me right now?” I chuckled as I nodded.
“Yeah I am. I’m confessing to you right now, Felix.”
“Holy shit.” I couldn’t help but let out another laugh. “So you’re telling me that you went on seven different dates with the seven biggest heartthrobs of our school, but you’re in love with me?” I nodded, my confidence slowly fading the longer this conversation continues. Honestly, I’m not sure why I confessed. There’s never been a moment in our years of friendship where I thought Felix could have feelings for me. There was just a part of me screaming to let him know, to confess. “Forget the project, I’m taking you out right now.” He said while throwing his papers over his shoulder.
“Felix!” I exclaimed while laughing, looking at him now standing.
“What? I’ve been waiting years for this! The project can wait. Right now, I’m taking the love of my life out on our first date.” I couldn’t help the smile that formed as I took his hand. His project was long forgotten as the two of us went out and did all the things we did as friends, but now there was more hand holding and a lot more kisses.
Love isn’t as scary as it seems. With the right person, love is beautiful. And though Y/N didn’t find love with the 7 boys I set her up with, she found love. A love that at first terrified her but made her happy at the same time. Falling in love is a risk, but it’s a risk she’s finally willing to take. And as the person she fell in love with, I hereby promise to never make her regret taking that risk.

jungkook had the utmost faith in you.
there was something in him that always knew that the love the two of you had ran way deeper than a friendship— probably more than a relationship too. it was something like a soul tie. something the stars created before the earth was ever created. two beings that were always meant to be together, in every universe, in every time before and after this. jungkook held his hope in that. his trust that the love the two of you forged was strong enough to pull you out of your room and into his arms before the plane took off.
the war between your head and your heart ended in a stalemate. you were fighting against something that you knew in your heart you wanted. your brain couldn’t make any more excuses to go against it when jungkook laid his heart out on the floor for you. you’d already made your decision before you went to sleep— before you even left jungkook’s grasp. but you were one for the dramatics.
the sound of the plane landing woke you, you were afraid you were too late. thinking that you slept in during a moment that could decide the rest of your life, you ran. bare feet smacking against the cold floor of the castle, before you eventually made it out to the garden and then the royal runway.
the sound of your voice that morning set it in stone. that jungkook will never love another the way he does you.
“jungkook!” you called out.
he was just about to board the plane for fenutar, jungkook and his advisors huddled into a circle to talk about customs and special etiquette since it’s been a while since he’s last visited. your shout interrupted the conversation. jungkook turned around immediately at the familiar voice.
the sight of you running through the cold, wet grass in your sleep wear with a winter coat and no shoes on. it makes his heart swell, with both love and worry. more so worry. “princess? what are you doing out here?! it’s freezing and you’re not even wearing the right clothes—”
you cut him off as you crash into his body for a tight hug. it felt right, it always did. “am i too late?” you ask, face snuggled into his warm chest.
he shakes his head, a little laugh accompanying the words. “you’re just in time.”
now, jungkook and you lay in your bed, staring up at the ceiling together. since seven in the morning, the two of you have just been talking about everything and nothing. mostly just appreciating each others presence. time passed quickly and it was almost time for everyone to start getting ready for breakfast. “so... how should we tell everyone? over breakfast?” you asked, pulling yourself on his chest and resting your cheek against his ribs.
he smiles at you. “sure, i heard they’re serving waffles, donuts— you know, sweet stuff.”
“and wouldn’t our news be so sweet?” you grinned. he laughs and you can feel his chest rise and fall under your head, the sound of his laughter just up against your ear. “should we go now?”
you move to get up, but jungkook stops you, placing a hand on your waist. “let’s stay here for a little bit longer.” he suggests, moving his hand up to run through your hair. “aren’t you tired from your dramatic show of affection this morning?” laughing as his fingers card through the strands of your hair. he combats your glare with a tender massage to your scalp. remembering how you’d always fall asleep whenever he did, and it worked. your eyelids fell and you melt against jungkook as he continues to rub your scalp gently.
love wasn’t scary. times like this, when it’s just you and jungkook; no expectations, no titles, no responsibilities. it’s just love. it wasn’t terrifying, it’s not painful. well, maybe it is sometimes. like how your heart beats out of your chest whenever jungkook looks at you, eyes glistening with admiration. like when you smile at jungkook and he feels like he could burst at any second just from the sight of you. love is hard to explain. love is whatever you make it out to be. and right now, love is in the curve of jungkook’s lips when he smiles at you. love is in the palm of your hand when you reach out to hold him.
the sound of the knocks on the door doesn’t register until the second round of taps. “princess, it is time for breakfast.” you hear from behind the door.
you sit up. “i’ll be right out!” trying to get out of bed but jungkook pulls you back.
“uh-uh,” he tsks. “you’re not dressed.” you furrow your eyebrows before you look down at what you’re wearing. a slip dress, the one you wore to sleep to be specific. “i won’t look, don’t worry.” he laughs, scooting himself up on your bed and covering his face with one of your pillows. he ignores how nice it smells, just like that shampoo he really likes. you bought it back in the city, raemor doesn’t have shampoos that smell like this.
he hears you rustle around in your closet before he hears a faint zip. “wait— jungkook, how does this look?”
the pillow is pulled away from his face and his eyes lay on you. with a colorful sundress draped on your body. it flows and compliments your skin beautifully. you’re beautiful. god, you’re gorgeous. asking jungkook for his opinion wouldn’t help, he’s biased. you’re pretty in his eyes no matter what you wear. “that— yeah, it’s— you look great.” he stumbles over his words.
“cat’s got your tongue?” you tease. in retaliation, jungkook ruffles up your hair a bit, making you groan and spend another five minutes in front of the mirror to fix it. meanwhile, jungkook pulls himself off the bed and straightens his outfit out, opting to leave his jacket off since it was toasty in the castle. he still looks proper and handsome with his white button up and dress pants on. for the last touch, you dig through your jewelry box, knowing that it has to be somewhere in there.
then there it was, at the bottom, tangled with a necklace from your mother, was the friendship bracelet jungkook gave you when you were twelve at the lantern festival. a dainty gold chain with a flower embellishment on it, signifying the promise the two of you made. he watches from afar when you put it on, trying to hide his surprise. “you still have it?”
you nod, “you don’t?”
“i do.” he assures. “i just didn’t think you’d remember it after all this time.”
you scoff playfully, walking towards him. “of course i remember,” linking your arm with his. “i remember everything.”
with that, the two of you step out of your room and down to the dining hall. they were expecting you, but not jungkook. the shock on everyone’s faces was evident. your parents, clementine, your ladies, venus, even blue. it was a good surprise though. both of your parents had to hide their big smiles behind their napkins. the staff kindly added another chair next to you for jungkook to sit down in. no one spoke up about it, if they wanted to ask, they kept their mouths shut. the two of you enjoy a delicious breakfast without any interference from any of the advisors.
but someone had to say it, and you were happy that it was going to be you.
you let out a cough before standing up, holding a glass of water and clinking your knife against it gently to grab everyone's attention. it only took a few seconds for all eyes to land on you. “jungkook and i have come to the conclusion that we will marry.” you announce.
the hall is overjoyed. cheers coming from your parents, smiles being sent your way from blue and your ladies. even the advisors, the most stern and inexpressive people you know (except for venus) crack a little smile at the news. “but—” you begin. silence quickly takes over the room. “only on jungkook and i’s terms.”
there is a bit of confusion amongst the crowd. so clementine is quick to ask, “and what are those terms, your highness?”
one. “jungkook and i will wed next year, when spring begins.”
two. “both of us will plan the wedding, with help of others, but the main parts will be orchestrated by the two of us.”
three. “there will be no talk of an heir until we are ready.”
“deal!” both yours and jungkook’s parents say as soon as you’re done talking.
“then it is settled! prince jungkook and princess ___ will wed next spring!” clementine announces to the hall and cheers erupt through the room once more.
jungkook stands and gives you a tight hug. the moment is all too perfect, the joyous chatter of everyone around you and the warm embrace of the one you love wrapped around you. it’s something you’ve dreamed of. “i won’t let you down, princess.” he promises you, in your ear, only for you to hear.
“i’ll be the best husband this world has ever seen.”
Tumblr media
a good husband has to be honest.
jungkook has something to tell you, and he isn’t sure how to word it. he’s scared you’ll be turned off by it. it is a pretty serious topic, so he needs to say it, or else he would feel the guilt start to build in his stomach. then before he knows it, it’ll spill all out. so it’s better to nip the bud. get it done before it becomes a bigger problem.
the two of you were having a sleepover tonight. it’s the first one you guys had since you’ve been back. jungkook brought all the fancy snacks that his mother packed along with some drinks, while you had your contraband: face masks and matching pajamas for the both of you.
he looks funny with his peel off mask drying on his face. you told him not to make any facial expressions or else it wouldn’t work. jungkook’s been pulling a straight face for ten minutes while watching elle woods destroy chutney in the courtroom.
he couldn’t have chosen a worse time to speak up about it, but it’s been eating at him for long enough. “i have to tell you something.” he says out of nowhere. you look at him, trying not to react with your face. his serious tone makes you want to burst out into laughter, it was just so out of place.
but he looks somber, like how he looks when something’s bothering him. you swallow the urge to laugh and just nod. “you can tell me while i peel this mask off your face, deal?” you ask, moving closer and picking at the edge of the mask.
you wait patiently until he spills whatever he needs to say, but he looks a little distracted by the feeling of the face mask being peeled off. he’s already nervous, he tells himself not to get side tracked. so he just spits it out. “i’m not a virgin.”
well. that was one way to start a conversation.
you try not to show your shock, but your eyebrows were already raised and now your facemask is stuck to itself. “oh— oh my god, jungkook,” you laugh, covering your mouth. “do you want a high-five or something?” you can’t hold back the laughter anymore. you raise your hand up and wait for him to reciprocate.
if you were being honest, it did make you a little jealous. you wondered who he lost it to. it was probably jieun. did he love her? enough to want to lose his virtue to her? while the questions run through your mind, he returns the high-five, taking you out of the downward spiral of queries. you weren’t angry at him. there wasn’t an agreement between the two of you that you’d take each other’s virginities. jealousy is unforgiving, because you knew there was no reason to be mad but you still felt the stupid pang in your heart.
you finish taking his mask off, expertly in one piece. jungkook waits for you as you throw it in the trash. he’s still silent, not really knowing what else to say. he was waiting for an argument, in all honesty. but you’re smiling, seemingly unaffected by his confession. “do you wanna help me take off mine?” you ask him, sitting back on the bed, facing him.
he nods, picking at the edge and trying to do exactly what you did. “you’re not upset?” he asks, pulling the mask off of your face. maybe you were, but you weren’t going to tell him. it’s in the past, what matters is now, and he’s here with you now. you couldn’t be too mad.
maybe you should be honest too. you shake your head, “of course not, i’m not a virgin either.” this conversation only proves that there was no need to hide when it came to jungkook. you admired him for speaking up about it first too, even though you aren’t exactly sure why.
jungkook successfully took your mask off in one piece as well, discarding it into the trash can. you tell him that the two of you have to wash your faces to get the tiny pieces off and he follows you into the bathroom. responding with a, “really?” and a raise of his eyebrows.
you turn the water on and splash him a little bit. “are you trying to say i’m too ugly to get laid, jeon?!” you glare.
jungkook backtracks, “no— no! you’re pretty— really pretty— i just— i didn’t know what to say.”
you roll your eyes playfully. rinsing your face with water and making sure your face is entirely clean from the mask before stepping aside and drying your face off, allowing jungkook to have his turn. “who’d you lose it to?” you asked. despite probably already knowing the answer, you just had to make sure.
“uh—” he starts, looking at you through the mirror. his eyes flicker back down to the stream of water when he answers, “jieun.”
of course. you let out a little laugh, stepping closer and nudging his side with your elbow. “congratulations, dude.” at least he told you, at least he was honest. that’s all that matters. jealousy can play it’s part later. after the sleepover.
“what about you?” jungkook asks when he finishes drying his face off. he wants to know, but at the same time he doesn’t. curiosity gets the best of everyone.
“my ex-boyfriend,” you answer nonchalantly. “min yoongi.”
“boyfriend…” he exaggerates. pursing his lips and nodding, the same jealousy you felt earlier coursing through his veins now. “that’s nice— congratulations.” he says, copying what you said. an awkward silence comes between the two of you, in turn, making the two of you laugh out loud. clutching your stomach type of laugh.
“why did you bring it up in the first place?” you question. curious as to why he would need to speak up about his sexual past.
“well, i just wanted to tell you because— i don’t know— when it happened, you were the first one i wanted to tell, and i know it’s too much information but we always talked about stuff like this— like remember when you told me when you got your first period?” he begins to ramble again. a cute habit of his.
you cringe at the mention, but you remember it so well. jungkook was so worried for you, he did all the research he could on menstrual cycles; asked his parents about it, looked online, asked his advisors, and even the doctors that come around the palace for check-ups. with all the advice he got, he showed up in front of your door with a big basket of your favorite sweets, literally every menstrual product ever produced (he wasn’t sure which one you used so he brought all), and other random things like flowers, just to be extra nice. you ended up crying in his arms because of how lovely the gesture was. it showed what kind of person jungkook was. meticulous, caring, and just so sweet.
“you’re right.” the trip down memory lane was delightful, as it always is whenever it comes to him. “but what… about us?” you asked. the question seemed random, but whenever you travel down memory lane with jungkook, you’re always reminded of the feelings that you had and still do have for jungkook. being on this topic makes you wonder: did he bring this up because he wants to have sex and wants to be transparent about how many partners he’s had?
“what do you mean? what about us?” he asks. his eyebrows are furrowed and you can tell he doesn’t understand.
the question shouldn’t have made you hesitate the way you did, but now you’re trying to find the words to backtrack. “i— um,” your smile fades a little. expecting you and jungkook to jump into a relationship was unrealistic, let alone having sex. “nothing.” you shake your head.
jungkook can somehow read your mind. he probably just picked up on context clues. “if you’re thinking about— you know— us, having sex,” he starts. “we don’t have to do anything of that sort, if you don’t want to.”
the thought is something that’s lingered in your mind for a while. same for jungkook. but neither of you will admit that. so the conversation comes to an awkward halt. you blush. “right! yeah— sure, of course.” you nod. every synonym of ‘okay’ leaves your mouth. it makes jungkook laugh, starting a domino effect and making you laugh. soon enough, the conversation was pushed aside and the two of you focused on whatever movie netflix decided to autoplay. it wasn’t long before the buzz of the tv lulled the two of you to sleep.
Tumblr media
“jungkook! save me!” you shout from the doors of his palace, spotting him talking to his father in the foyer. you just ran from your castle to his in hopes to outrun your chaser. jungkook’s head turns at the sound of your voice, your figure coming closer and closer.
“what? what is it?” quickly placing the papers in his hand onto the table, he rushes towards you. his face was riddled with worry as he watched you run towards him.
taking you into his arms, you hold him tightly. “venus won’t stop asking me what color the table cloths for the guests should be— please… spare me, my prince.” you fake sob into his chest.
he lets out a relieved laugh, the stress lifting away when he realized that you were just being bombarded with wedding questions again. “shouldn’t they be white?” he asks.
you look up at him in his embrace, chin against his chest, near his throat. “that’s what i said! then she started asking about the details of the cloth— like if we wanted it to be a certain type of thread, if we wanted a different colored detail woven through it— i just— why does it matter?!”
“it matters because it’s going to be the wedding of the century! now tell me, ___, white with gold detail or—” venus finally finds you after asking the guards where you went. she approaches you hurriedly and tries to shove the samples in your face, but you hide in jungkook’s chest, refusing to look at them.
“the gold detail is beautiful, venus, thank you.” jungkook answers for you. you relax against him once again. venus looks satisfied, putting her cloth samples back into her bag and walking away. with venus finally out of your hair, jungkook rubs your back gently. “wanna stay the night?” jungkook asks in your ear.
“depends.” you act like you think about it. pulling away from his embrace, looking at him with a playful glare. “do they still make those strawberry tarts i used to love?”
jungkook smiles. “i’ll ask them to bake you some right now.”
“deal.” you pinch his cheek. “hello, your majesty!” you greet his dad when you turn around. jungkook moves over to the side and tells one of his assistants to ask the kitchen to make your strawberry tarts.
jungkook’s dad gives you a bright smile. “good evening, princess.” even bowing slightly.
“you know you don’t need to do that, papa, it’s just me.” you smiled, giving him a curtsy back for the courtesy
“yes, yes, i know.” he laughs. “i’m just so glad to see you home.” opening his arms for a hug. which you move for immediately, hugging him tightly.
jungkook’s parents were always amazing to you. never making you feel unwelcome or uncomfortable. “i missed you as well, you and mama jeon always make me feel at home whenever i’m here.” you express your gratitude to him.
he holds one of your hands in his. “it is your second home, ___.”
“thank you,” you grinned. when you look down, his hands are holding an entire stack of papers. it must be something important, you excuse yourself so that they could finish their business. “i’ll see you later, papa! jungkook! i’ll be in your room!”
jungkook only gives you a thumbs up as he takes his place back next to his dad. the two of them watch as you skip your way up the stairs. your figure receding as you make it to his room when jungkook’s dad speaks up once more. “she is something else, son.” patting his back with a light laugh.
jungkook laughs too. a big smile on his face when he says, “in the best way possible.”
“agreed.” he replicates the same smile that’s on his son’s face. “i’m happy for you.”
when he looks down, his father holds out the papers to verify the marriage arrangement for him to sign. your family had already signed and his parents did too, a while ago. jungkook told them that he’ll only sign after you did. then, just after breakfast when the two of you announced your agreement to the arrangement, you signed happily. it’s a little late because jungkook’s been super busy, but now, with excitement in his heart for your future together, he scribbles his signature on the line. “thanks, dad.” he says as he hands the papers back to him.
they settle the rest of their business and finish signing some more papers. after about ten minutes, jungkook is finished with all the reading and signatures. he makes his way to the kitchen and the chefs hand him a platter of strawberry tarts on the cutest serving plate. white with little red hearts that match the strawberries. a detail that jungkook knows you’ll appreciate.
with two waters in his hand and the tarts in the other, he makes his way up the stairs. hilariously, a problem arises when jungkook needs to open the door to his room. he doesn’t wanna put the stuff down and he figures that you probably can’t hear him if he knocks because the volume of the tv is leaking through the door. in the corner of his eye, jungkook can see a guard crossing the hallway. “psst!” he calls out, hoping to get his attention. the guard passes by without a second thought. a few seconds pass and he can hear the guard take a couple steps back.
soon enough, the guard pops his head into the hallway. “everything alright, your highness?” he asks.
“yes, but— do you mind opening the door for me?” he laughs awkwardly. the guard nods and rushes over, turning the knob and sliding the door open. “thanks, man, have a good night.” he smiles at the guard.
“of course— you too, your highness.” he bows before leaving him be.
when he enters the room, you’re nowhere to be seen. the tv is on and playing some scary movie from what he can tell, the background music is eerie and quite frankly creeping him out. he sets down the waters first onto his bedside table and you come out of his bathroom at the perfect time. “there you are.” he sighs. “how are you just going to play a scary movie and then make me come into an empty room?!” he cries.
you roll your eyes playfully. “my apologies, prince, i didn’t hear you come in!” sporting a hoodie and a pair of boxers stolen from jungkook’s closet, you jump into his bed and eye the beautifully plated tarts in his grasp.
jungkook tries not to get distracted by the way you look right now. so cute in his clothes. he wonders if you caught the way that he looked you up and down. when he realizes that you’ve been staring at the tarts, he refocuses and picks up one of the pastries, holding it close to your mouth “your tarts, your majesty.” when you open to take a bite, he snatches it back quickly and takes a bite himself. his face contorted in pleasure, the treat was perfect amounts sweet and sour.
“jungkook,” you deadpanned. your straight face breaks into laughter not even a second later when he holds the bitten pastry back up to your mouth. “you literally ate half of it!”
“then eat the rest of it!” he shoots back with a laugh. you roll your eyes, taking the rest of the pastry into your mouth. in turn, your lips slightly graze against his fingers. it wasn’t helping that your eyes were looking directly into jungkook’s. it was quite obvious that there was some tension here.
neither of you knew how to address moments like this.
most of the time the two of you just act like it never happened. but they’ve just been happening a little too often these days. like that one time you and jungkook almost kissed after he helped you put on a necklace. that time you and jungkook were hiding from blue; he held his hand over your mouth and the other arm tightly around your waist so you wouldn’t move or make a noise. then now, your sex eyes peering directly into his as your lips graze his fingers. yeah… it was a hard thing to talk about.
jungkook is just as confused as you when it comes to whatever the two of you were. just best friends? engaged but friends? dating? no, that wouldn’t be right. jungkook should ask you to be his girlfriend, er— fiancee, right? just because the two of you are arranged to be married doesn’t mean the two of you go from best friends to a pair of lovers just like that, even with requited feelings.
communication wasn’t a hard thing for the two of you. being best friends for twenty years does that to you. fights, the silent treatment, and even that one period of time where you swore that you’d never talk to jungkook ever again; you guys have been through it all.
it’s just that— neither of you really know how to go about it. this conversation was awkward. maybe it’s just not time to talk about it yet, jungkook thought. you were so busy these days. your advisors would pull you away from him before he even got a word in.
then when you two do get the time to spend with each other, the both of you are usually exhausted from the days you’ve had. even though the wedding was an entire year away, there was way more planning than either of you expected. everyone wants it to be perfect. which is nice in hindsight, but it does get annoying sometimes. like how venus was hounding you earlier for the choice of table cloths.
so the two of you just ignore it for now. maybe when it becomes more of a problem, you’ll talk about it with each other. but for now, it’s just something neither of you are ready to face. you chew and swallow the rest of the tart while jungkook moves into the bathroom to get ready for bed. giving the both of you enough time to calm down and gather your thoughts.
when he comes back out, you’ve eaten at least three more strawberry tarts and started a new movie. another scary one. jungkook doesn’t understand how you can watch these kinds of things before you go to sleep, it’s like you’re immune to nightmares or something.
but you weren’t immune to feeling tired. just before jungkook joins you in bed, you let out a yawn before stretching your limbs a little bit.
“tired?” jungkook asks, pulling the comforter over his legs.
you nod, “a little.”
he smiles. “it’s late,” he nods to the clock on his night stand. one in the morning. “sleep, you did a lot of work today.”
“i know,” you groan. “just one more bite.” trying to fit an entire strawberry tart into your mouth was a bad decision. the pastry crumbled into your throat and had you choking for a minute.
jungkook comes to the rescue with your glass of water and a hand rubbing circles against your back. “alright, alright.” he laughs. “no more tarts— go to sleep, princess.”
when you’ve come down from your coughing fit, you nod before you tell him that you’re going to call seungyeon and jimin. “let me just update them about the wedding planning— they’re gonna laugh about everything, i just know it!”
“it’s supposed to be a secret, princess.” jungkook shakes his head, watching as your hands pull out your phone at lightning speed.
“oh… really?” you pause, “i’ve been telling them everything since we’ve started.” jungkook only laughs. he could never be mad at that, why wouldn’t you wanna share something like this with your friends?
“just make sure your advisors don’t find out, okay?” he holds his pinky up for a classic promise, which you reciprocate.
the next fifteen minutes or so, jungkook acts like he isn’t listening to your conversation as he immerses himself into the storyline of this movie, it was interesting but not as interesting as the way you tell them about the wedding. you sound so excited, telling seungyeon that you’re gonna have to go dress shopping soon and that you want her to be there and everything. it makes jungkook smile. it’s more back and forth between the two of you, seungyeon saying of course she’ll be there and you saying that she better because you’re sending a jet to her. it was quite funny.
then seungyeon’s voice rings over the line, updating you about how jimin’s prepping for his big dance recital on saturday and how much they miss you.
you wish you could go to support him. jimin’s been dancing for as long as he’s lived. he’s so passionate about it and you admire him for it. he talked your ear off about how excited he was about this performance. that the crowd is going to be the biggest he’s ever performed for and how scouts will be in the audience. you wished you could go.
the way your voice shakes isn’t something you can hide very well. over the phone it may pass off as a breath you took too long to breathe in, but in person, jungkook can hear the way that your voice gives way to the tears building in your eyes. “tell him i wish him the best of luck.”
“of course,” she answers. “oh! and i was able to take some pictures when we went into the city, you remember all those hole-in-the-wall spots, right? turns out they’re great for photography!”
not long after, you received an email notification. containing the pictures that seungyeon took and they were beautiful. the city's night lights make everything look so cool, like a movie.
you miss the city. you miss your friends.
“they’re gorgeous,” you tell her. scrolling through picture after picture. seungyeon rambles more about a new restaurant they found that she hopes to bring you (and jungkook) to when they have the chance. jungkook could see the way that your energy changed. you’re sad now. he can feel it. he knows you miss the city. the way you slowly scroll through the pictures, longing to be there instead of having to look at a picture of it through a screen.
the gears in his head turn. a plan has already been set into motion for a date between the two of you. yugyeom, taehyung, and eunwoo have all been trying to pitch in, give him ideas as to where to go, what to do. but jungkook thinks he knows exactly what to do. he wanted to do this right.
so that next morning, jungkook makes an important phone call after retrieving the phone number from namjoon.
“hello, jimin? this is jungkook…”
Tumblr media
it’s already been a week and a half since you and jungkook agreed to an arranged marriage. you’ve only been able to see him five out of the twelve days. busy was an understatement. venus said there is too much to do and that even a year isn’t enough time to get everything done. it seems like an exaggeration, in your opinion. sure, a wedding was a lot of work, but did you really need to be there to confirm everything?
maybe venus will let you have a break one of these days. you don’t suspect it to be anytime soon. today, you were told to wake up early (six in the morning type of early) and get dressed. no one told you exactly why, but you listened and once you were ready, made your way to the briefing room.
when you push the big doors open, venus eyes you suspiciously. “princess, what are you doing here? we are not wedding planning today.”
you furrow your eyebrows. “then what are we doing?”
“you are going on a plane, something about a political appearance.” she winks. walking your way and weaving her arm through yours to lead you out.
“already? mother said appearances weren’t for another month!” you groaned.
“sorry, princess.” she laughs. “your bags are being packed as we speak, just go freshen up and we’ll meet jungkook and blue at the royal runway.”
“got it.” you assure her. ah, such a good kid. venus thinks. you don’t even question the random political appearance and just accept it at face value. she knows you’ll be surprised. you don’t even suspect a thing!
after maybe ten minutes, you walk with venus down to the runway and meet up with the boys. jungkook seems a little nervous. he’s doing that thing where he shifts his weight on his feet. “you okay?” you ask him.
“yeah! yeah— why wouldn’t i be?” jungkook answers. a smile that’s way too bright is displayed on his face. you suspect it’s just nerves for the speech he’s probably gonna have to do.
“if you’re nervous, just remember i’ll be right there next to you, yeah?” you assure him. gently taking his hand into yours.
jungkook is suddenly reminded why he shouldn’t be so damn nervous. because it’s you. he gets to be with you. to marry you. of course, he wants it to be perfect, that’s why he keeps going over everything in his head, making sure he’s got everything down. but it’s you. his best friend. when he looks at you, his nerves are at ease. that burning feeling in his chest dies down and his throat no longer feels like closing in on itself.
he lets out a breath. “ready?”
you nod, “where are we going anyway? venus never told me.” stepping up into the aircraft and taking your seat, jungkook and blue follow suit.
“i think we’re going to gotia, right, blue?” jungkook answers, turning his head to namjoon. his face directly telling him to go along with it.
“yes, your highness, gotia.” namjoon smiles brightly.
your eyebrows knit together. they’re acting weird again. “alright…” you say, suspicious of them already. “wake me up when we’re there.”
apparently, you were exhausted. you slept through the entire plane ride and it was a fifteen hour plane ride. namjoon said you did this the last time too. only waking up to eat and talk briefly before falling asleep again. it was a great time for namjoon and jungkook to gather blackmail photos for themselves as your sleeping faces are unbeatable. even when you land, you don’t wake up. jungkook isn’t gonna be the one to wake you up, so he gently lifts you up, bridal style. you don’t even bother opening your eyes, you just cuddle into his further. jungkook was always so warm, and so strong. he carries you into a car and lets you continue sleeping there, with your head on his shoulder.
after about twenty minutes of traffic, you finally decide to open your eyes. suddenly conscious of the way that jungkook’s hand is intertwined with yours. you don’t mind, his hand felt nice in yours. with sleep-riddled eyes, you look outside the window to see city infrastructure; which is not very common in gotia. gotia is a green mountain country, known particularly for their abundance of livestock and green grass.
you give them the benefit of doubt, perhaps you guys were just going somewhere in gotia that you’ve never been before. so you ask, “where exactly in gotia are we going?”
jungkook smiles. a very mischievous smile. “you’ll see when we get there, princess, don’t worry.”
hm, suspicious. this time you sit up, the seat belt digging into your belly when you push forward to lean against the front seat. “blue, where are we going?” you ask your trusty body guard.
“i am just following directions, your highness.” he tells you with a tight grin.
you were already suspicious during the plane ride, and now since neither jungkook or namjoon want to tell you where you’re going; you’re starting to put the pieces together. they’re gonna make you play that game where blue drops you and jungkook off in a random location and the two of you have to figure out where to go from there. and from your own experience: it sucks! so you scoff. “you guys are kidnapping me! hand me my phone, i am calling my father.” holding your hand out with your palm facing up. both of them laugh, jungkook places his hand on yours instead of giving you your phone.
“just wait a little longer, princess.” jungkook tells you as he intertwines your fingers together.
another few minutes and you’re still unsure of where you are, the dark tint of the windows is only adding onto the difficulty to spot the exact location. blue stops abruptly and turns to the two of you, “i was told to let you off here.” he says. the street is empty, but somewhat familiar. you weren’t able to get another look before jungkook covered your eyes.
“it’s a surprise, close your eyes.” he says. out of habit, you close your eyes, giving your trust to jungkook. jungkook steps out of the car first and then the door to the left of you opens. you keep your eyes closed and scoot out of the car with jungkooks’ help. he helps you out and onto the ground where he leads you somewhere onto the sidewalk.
“can i open my eyes now?” you ask, still squeezing your eyes shut.
“in a sec,” jungkook promises. bringing you a little further, you can hear him open a door and feel him lead you inside. “you can open your eyes now, we have to go up some stairs first.” he tells you.
when you open your eyes, you’re in a staircase with carpeted floors and metal railings. it looks fancy. the two of you make it up the stairs and you still can’t tell where the hell you are before jungkook tells you to close your eyes again. he opens another door and leads you out, leading you through a curtain you can feel. now you can hear some noise, quiet bickers of a crowd of people. it had to be hundreds of people out there.
you hear jungkook sit down beside you before he speaks up once more, “okay, open.”
scared, you only open your right eye just a peek. from the image, there’s an entire crowd below you. you’re in a theater of some sort. no, wait— it’s not just some theater, it’s the theater. the one that jimin’s performing at! that’s when your eyes shoot open. you’re back in the city, with jungkook by your side, about to watch your best friends’ performance.
“no way.” you spoke quietly, facing jungkook. he only smiles at you, holding your hand in his. “did you really do this for me?” the two of you sat in the highest box seat, jimin called them ‘the rich people seats.’ no one can really see you from here and you had one of the best views; it was perfect.
it was just so thoughtful. he must have noticed how homesick you were feeling, how much you yearned to see your friends again. this is the best gift you could have ever received. you’re not even sure what to say, and jungkook understands. he doesn’t expect any thank you’s or a major display of affection. he’s just happy that you’re happy.
when the lights dim and the music begins to play, you can’t help but feel the tears start to build in your eyes. “thank you, jungkook, so much.” you pull yourself close to him, laying your head on his shoulder.
“of course, princess.” he tells you, wrapping his arm around your waist to pull you in closer. “anything for you.”
with that, a tear falls and the curtains are drawn. revealing jimin standing in position with a beautiful dark forest background, performing his black swan routine. one of his longest and most physically intensive choreography he’s ever made. but it’s so damn gorgeous. he performs flawlessly and receives a standing ovation. you couldn’t have been any happier for him.
during the extended applause, jungkook stands up pulls you along, through another carpeted hallway. “wait— where are we going?” you ask him. his other hand holds a bouquet that literally came out of nowhere. “and where did you get those flowers?!”
“we’re gonna see jimin!” he tells you as he maneuvers through the never ending hallways. “oh, and i hid these— so you could give them to jimin.”
the two of you stop just before another door, you pull him back gently. “what? people are going to see us, jungkook, we aren’t allowed to be outside of the kingdom without proper guards.”
“no one will see us, i promise, jimin will meet us here in this room.” he tells you. the both of you peek through the door window, it was an empty practice room. the door on the other side of the room opens and it’s the cue that it’s safe to come in. “ready?” he asks, holding the flowers out for you to take.
you start crying again, it was immediate. jungkook wipes the tears away quickly, “don’t cry, princess.” he places a sweet kiss on your forehead before he hands you the bouquet and opens the door for you.
then there in the middle of the room stands your best friend. his arms open for a hug and you run into them. crying even harder when you realize that jimin is crying too, you can hear the way he sniffles. “why are you crying?! you did amazing!” you sob.
“because you’re here and everything went perfectly— it’s just overwhelming.” he admits, pulling back from the hug. the two of you laugh at your crying faces.
“congratulations, jimin.” you tell him, holding out the flowers for him.
“thank you, ___.” he accepts them with a smile, wiping his tears and turning his attention to jungkook, who stands at the door as a lookout. “jungkook—! oh crap, wait— should i call him majesty or highness or something?” jimin’s quickly tries to correct himself, asking you for advice.
you can only laugh and shake your head. “you can just call him jungkook.”
“i was called?” jungkook stands just behind you, with a smile on his face.
“yeah, man— come here.” jimin embraces him in a hug and jungkook doesn’t object it.
rubbing his back, jungkook congratulates him as well. “you’re incredibly talented, jimin.” he smiles when he pulls away. “it’s great to finally meet you in person.”
“thank—”
“jimin! it’s curtain call!” a lady barges into the practice room. she stands speechless for a second, her eyes darting straight to jungkook. “wait, is that prince jungkook?!” all of you are wide eyed. jimin’s mouth is silently telling you two to ‘run!’ before you knew it, she was pulling out her phone, trying to take a picture.
jimin is quick to block the camera as he shouts. “go! hurry!” the two of you rush out of the door you came from. you and jungkook bolt back to the car, blue is a little startled when you both jump in, breathless.
“everything alrig—“
“drive!” you demanded.
“shit— alright!” blue complies and steps on the gas, getting you out of the parking spot behind the theater and now onto the streets of the city.
now that everyone’s calmed down. you just realized that you, again, have no idea where you were going. “now where are we off to? it’s about eleven o’clock, right?”
“go with the plan, blue.” jungkook tells him. with the creepy wording, you begin to feel more suspicion around the two of them. what more surprises could there be?
the three of you spent another fifteen or so minutes of driving, and quite frankly you were tired of looking for little landmarks to pinpoint where you were. just as you were about to ask again, blue stops the car and looks at jungkook.
“okay, another surprise— close your eyes.” jungkook says. you can’t help but admit this is kind of fun. sure, you were annoying the hell out of the boys for the past fifteen minutes asking when you were gonna get there and where you were going. but they love you either way.
you keep your eyes squeezed shut as jungkook helps you out of the car and onto another sidewalk. “just a little further.” he says, leading you closer to whatever it was. just before he speaks again, you hear a little jingle. “okay, open.”
when your eyes finally adjust to the city lights, you recognize the building entirely too well. a place that you lived for five years. “is this— are we— no way!” you stutter, purely out of surprise. you were sure that you weren’t going to see this place for at least another decade.
you stand there speechless, just like how you did at jimin’s recital, for a good minute or so. jungkook has to wave his hand in front of your face to break you out of the trance.
“so, are you gonna show me your apartment or not?” jungkook grins, holding up your cutely decorated keychain. you squeal in excitement as he hands you the keys and you drag him into the building. it’s only been about a month and a half since you’ve last seen it, but it feels so nostalgic. it feels special. you suspect it’s because of the man whose hand you’re holding right now.
up the elevator and to the left, the apartment labeled with a silver plated 101 beckons you inside. soon enough, you’re pulling jungkook through the door and giving him a detailed tour of your shoe closet that is right there when you walk in.
as the two of you walk around, it’s cleaner than you remember. venus must have gotten people to tidy the place up after you left. just as you finish the very short tour of your apartment, you remember that you’d left some things from jimin and seungyeon in your room. “make yourself at home, my prince, i’ll just be in my room, collecting some things.” you excuse yourself and let jungkook look around some more.
if jungkook were honest, he would have told you that he got a bit of whiplash from your tour. he was turning every two seconds because you were speaking so fast. you were just so excited, and jungkook couldn’t have been happier. everything was going exactly as planned. the clock was ticking and jungkook did have a schedule to be on, but there was nothing wrong with a little snooping around your apartment. he wanted to see the place that you called home for the past five years.
your couch looks cozy, blankets on one side with decorative pillows to adorn the piece of furniture. your coffee table is cute too. you’ve got good taste. everything just seems so you. so when jungkook turns toward the bookcase you mentioned earlier into your tour. it was crowded with books, photo albums, cd’s, and records. a specific photo album catches his eyes, a cute light blue album. on the spine it was labeled: ‘jjk’ and from what jungkook knows, it must be his initials.
it’s when he opens it is when he confirms. the album is full of pictures of the two of you when you were kids, at every festival, from infant to teens. flipping through the pages, both of your smiles never changed. over the years; in both of your eyes, the certain glimmer of love shines so brightly. he puts it back with a soft smile after he’s flipped through all the pages. another book catches his eyes, your favorite fairy tale story: hansel and gretel. while everyone made fun of your choice of story, jungkook thought it was cool. you were all about safety and stranger danger, therefore making hansel and gretel a good story for kids to read (in your opinion.) you always read it when you needed to make an important decision, you called it a comfort read. it helped you get into the right mindset, think about all the pros and especially the cons of the decision you were about to make.
jungkook was only going to look at it and flip through the pages mindlessly. but when he pulls it out of its place in the bookshelf, two envelopes fall out from between the pages. squatting down, he picks up the fallen pieces of paper and coincidentally, sees his name on one of the letters. the other is blank, just a plain envelope. if it was addressed to him, then it means it was meant for him, therefore, he could read it… right?
jungkook,
if you are reading this, then that means i’ve already left for the city.
first, i wanted to apologize: for everything. for not telling you that i would leave sooner, for leaving you, for not telling you how i felt.
i was scared terrified that i would ruin our friendship if i ever told you, but now, since i don’t know if i’ll ever come back. i need to get this off my chest.
i’ve wanted to tell you this for the longest time.
jeon jungkook, i am in love with you.
i’m sorry this is how you had to find out, i’m sorry i didn’t have the courage to tell you in person.
but i love you, and i think i always will.
i hope you will be happy, whoever you marry. i hope they love you the way you deserve.
i hope to be at your wedding when i hear the news.
i’m sorry again.
sincerely,
___
easily, his eyes gloss over. you’ve loved him all along. he should have known. how could he have not known? thoughts run through his mind at hundreds of miles an hour; what would have happened if you did give this to him when you left. he probably would have gotten on the next plane out and searched the city to find you. probably would have done the exact same thing he did recently, beg you to give the two of you a chance. he shakes his head, sliding the letter back into its envelope. reading the other letters wouldn’t hurt, right?
of course not, he tells himself. he was always so nosy. the blank envelope held multiple pieces of paper. most of them were unfinished confessions to him, smudged black ink with multiple sentences crossed off. from what he can count, you wanted to confess to him at least five times now.
jungkook isn’t sure how he feels, he just knows how in love he is. this feeling of being surrounded by warmth, it’s enough to make a tear slip out. he can’t help but smile either. this is the boost of confidence he needed for tonight. he was so nervous before, that everything would go terribly wrong, but now he’s just so… content, so happy. he wanted to hug you, kiss you, everything. so he puts the envelopes back into the book, places it back into the shelf and makes his way to your room. your body hovers over your vanity, digging through your jewelry box.
“my princess.” jungkook pouts even though you can’t see him. coming from behind, he hugs you tightly and rests his head against yours. he tries to hide the way that his tears began to tear up. you look up from your tangle of necklaces, turning and taking him into your arms.
“are you crying?” the single tear that rolls down his cheek grabs your attention. your hand immediately coming up to wipe it away. “what’s wrong? do you hate my little apartment that much?” you let out a laugh.
he laughs too, shaking his head with a smile. “your little apartment is perfect— i love it actually, i love you.”
“aw,” you mumble against his chest. “i love you too, even though you’re acting super weird.” the two of you stand there, swaying in a hug for a little longer.
“am not.” he rests his chin atop your head.
“whatever you say.” you hum, pulling him towards your prized possession— your queen sized bed. the two of you plop on top, your fluffy comforter proving to be one of the best purchases you have ever made in your entire life. the two of you lay there in silence for a little bit, you almost fall asleep due to how warm jungkook is.
“as much as i would love to cuddle and take a nap in your bed, we’re on a tight schedule— c’mon.” jungkook says as he stands from your bed, pulling you up.
“a schedule?” you quirk an eyebrow. “what else are we gonna do in the city? our faces are plastered all over the internet, not to mention you’re the most-thirsted-after prince in the entire world.” you ask as he tugs you through the hallway and back into the living room.
“can you show me the roof?” jungkook asks. a sly smile on his face, while you’re still completely clueless.
“of course!” you squeal, excited to show him the amazing view of the city the roof of your building has. the two of you exit your apartment and you pull him up another two flights of stairs. “usually it’s kind of dirty, so don’t mind the mess.” you warn before opening the heavy door.
but when you push it open, the roof is…clean. it’s decorated too. it’s not the same as you last saw it. “huh— would you look at that?” jungkook steps out onto the roof first, with his hands on his hips as he looks back at you. “it looks pretty clean— and look! it’s set up for dinner...?” he acts surprised. his eyebrows raised as the two of you walk towards the dinner table. he pulls out the chair for you to sit down and you can’t help but let out a little laugh.
“so this was your plan.” you snort. dinner was in the shape of cups of ice cream. it was adorable. “ice cream for dinner?”
jungkook nods, handing you a tiny spoon for the ice cream. “your favorite.”
he did all of this for me. you realize the effort. he must have gone through meticulous planning and conspiring all of this in secret. he’s good. really good. god, you could kiss him.
the two of you sit there in the ambiance of the late city night, eating ice cream and having a small conversation. whenever the conversation paused, you could hear some music playing quietly in the back.
jungkook really did deserve the mantle of prince charming. king of romance. ruler of your heart.
“do you hear that?” jungkook asks, holding a hand out next to his ear. a familiar tune playing from wherever the music was. standing up, he extends his grasp for you to take. “a dance, princess?”
“you know i have two left feet.” you try to decline him, remembering how taehyung teased you about the way that you tripped over his feet when the two of you danced at your welcome home party. but jungkook doesn’t mind. he loves dancing with you, always has. he loves the way that your feet crash into his, how focused you get when you try not to get the moves wrong. he wanted to waltz with you everywhere, even if you stood on his feet the entire time.
“just follow me, alright?” he smiles. giving in, you take his hand and the two of you make your way to the middle of the rooftop. the night sky bearing witness to one of the most romantic things you’ve ever received. you feel his hand wrap around your waist, guiding you to step where he does.
“sparks, huh?” you smile, finally putting a title on the song playing. “kind of a sad song to dance to.” following his moves, dancing does seem a little easier with jungkook there.
“i thought it was perfect.” he states, leading you in for a twirl and then back into his arms. “it explains exactly how i feel about you.
“yeah?” you look up to him. even in this faint lighting, the abandoned flickering light bulbs that hang from strings all across the rooftop from an old tenant party, he still shines so bright.
he nods. the two of you silently sway for another few beats of the song. you lay your head against his chest, the beat of his heart is as calming as the music in the back. maybe if you just leave your eyes closed, this moment could last forever.
meanwhile, jungkook is trying to amp himself up to get these words out. another confession and an important question sits heavy on his tongue. he knows you feel the same, knows that you’ll accept, but he’s still so nervous. what if you don’t say yes and he’s left there with his knee against the rough concrete floor? what if this was just too cheesy for you and you hate it?
jungkook tells himself there’s only one way to find out.
“i— can i tell you something?” he asks. you lift your head away and look in his eyes, they greet you with that sweet eye smile that hasn’t changed in all the days you’ve known him.
“of course.” you pull yourself back, holding his hands.
“when you were gone...i was always afraid that i was romanticizing you— i had nothing but our memories and the small talks we would have sometimes through our parents,” he admits. “i was scared that i was in love with the idea of you, and not… you— you know?”
his confession makes you stop in your tracks, clear disbelief on your face as you drop his hands from your grasp. “what?! jungkook— why are you telling me this now?” you groan, folding your arms over your chest. you move to grab your phone to find a way to reverse this. “you know what— it’s not too late to cancel the engagement and call up the king of fenutar— i’m sure they’ll forgive you— yeah, let’s give them a call—”
he pulls you back gently, “princess, relax.” he laughs. “i was just getting started.”
your gaze softens, letting him finish his point as he restarts the sway. your feet move with his, slowly to the beat of the song playing in the back. it’s changed to something calmer, from what you could hear, it sounds like cigarettes after sex.
“this past month, ever since you came back—” he starts up once more. you attention falling back onto him instead of the music in the back. “i don’t know what it is, but i think i was wrong.” he says. you gently furrow your eyebrows. confused as to what he means. jungkook brings his hand up to your face, cupping your jaw before raising his thumb to soothe the creases in your forehead.
relaxing your muscles under his touch, he lowers his hands back down to hold your hands. he says the next words, staring straight into your eyes. “i love you, i always want to be around you, i wonder if you are alright— if you’re sad, because i want to be there for you, i want to take care of you.” your hands are pulled close to him, enough for him to be able to gently press a kiss against your knuckles. “i want to be by your side, against foes seen and unseen.”
“so—“ he lets go of your hand to pull a tiny white box out from his pocket and gets on one knee. “will you marry me?”
the rough ground against his clothed knee doesn’t matter anymore when he sees the sweetest smile on your face. everything is perfect.
you let out a little laugh, your smile going from ear to ear. “yes! of course— yes, yes!” tears collect in your eyes quickly. holding your arms out for him, jungkook comes up and collects your embrace. a tear slips out and he can hear your sniffle. gently, he wipes the tear away, and the two of you stare at each other just long enough. long enough to understand that this was the time.
you both lean forward and finally, let your lips connect. a kiss seals the fate of both hearts involved.
dreaming of this moment ever since you were fifteen has given you quite high expectations for it, but jungkook always exceeds expectations. even when you think he couldn’t be anymore perfect, he always has something up his sleeve. it shows in the way his kiss is gentle, but so passionate. transferring his love to you in the most efficient way possible.
jungkook is in dreamland almost. wonders if this is what being on drugs is like. pure euphoria. knows that this is what love stories are based off of. pure adoration. fears what he’ll do if he won’t be able to kiss you. the beginning of an addiction. your lips, they take him prisoner.
slowly, the two of you pull away and stare at each other like love sick puppies. jungkook holds your face in his hand as you lean into his grasp. the sound of confetti poppers startle you, flinching at the noise before looking to see what happened. through the rain of confetti, you can see all of them. seungyeon, jimin, blue, taehyung, eunwoo, and yugyeom. you didn’t think it could get any better. you were so happy.
“congratulations, your majesties.” blue moves forward after the confetti settles and hands the two of you a purple rose. the national flower of raemor and it was a common tradition to give engaged couples raemors for good luck all throughout their relationship and marriage. you thank blue with a hug and so does jungkook. jimin and seungyeon also congratulate you, seungyeon pulls out her camera and shows you the pictures she took while she was hidden with everyone behind the huge skylights.
eunwoo takes hold of your hand gently, raising the ring up for everyone to see. jimin and seungyeon also come close to get a better look, holding your arm still. “that rock is adorable, jungkook.” he pats him on the back. making slight fun of the stones size. everyone in the kingdom was used to huge gems, rings that would weigh down the finger of the wearer. you give eunwoo a light shove.
the ring was your style. it was actually really thoughtful too. there were conversations where you and jungkook would gossip about the adults sometimes, you knew everything back then. who was cheating on who, whose wives knew about the mistress, whose husbands knew about the paramour. then most of the time, they would solve it through money. buying bigger, more expensive material things to woo them, to make them forget the betrayals. you hated it. you specifically remember telling jungkook that you’d rather have a small ring and a great love, instead of a big ring and a loveless marriage.
so when you stare at the pretty gem laid on your ring finger, you realize it’s just more evidence that jungkook listens, and he takes your words into account. you couldn’t have been happier with the piece of jewelry. “i think it’s beautiful.” you pout in defense of the ring.
“it’s a red diamond.” namjoon tells them. “one of the rarest diamonds in the world.”
“how much is it?” yugyeom peers at the ring as well, he likes the way it sparkles even without the light.
“it doesn’t matter!” you groan, looking at jungkook for some help as four different people have your hand in their grasp.
“the diamond itself is roughly about five million— the rest of the ring, i can’t say.” namjoon shrugs nonchalantly.
jimin and seungyeon gasp at the same time, same pitch. both yugyeom and eunwoo’s eyes almost bulge out of their sockets. “sorry man— i thought it was a ruby.” eunwoo scratches the back of his head. jungkook only laughs at the conversation, not taking any of it to heart, along with taehyung (and chaeyoung!) who helped him customize the ring in the first place.
“five million?! are you serious?” you turn to him, about to scold him for wasting his money. just for an engagement ring too?!
he catches your hand before you can shove him like you did eunwoo. he brings it to his mouth, kissing your ring finger gently. before coming close to your ear, he whispers, “it’s worth way more than five million.”
“jungkook!”

It was raining heavily. You had been out for about an hour, getting groceries for the week. Whispering a spell, making sure no one was viewing in your direction, you watched your wand transform into an umbrella and hurried away from the shop. Stalking towards your house, you tried to make sure not to let your bags get wet. You didn’t notice the man standing in your way.
“Ah, shit—” you began, not looking up far too busy to check whether or not something fell. “I’m so sorry sir, I didn’t notice where I was going—”
“Potter?”
You gazed up meeting someone you hadn’t seen in a long time.
“Regulus.”
For a minute you two just stared at each other. He had changed. The thin, gaunt boy you saw as a child was replaced by a handsome man with the same striking eyes you used to know so well. You shook yourself.
“What— what are you doing here?” you said gesturing towards the damped hair and drenched clothes. Extending your umbrella over his head you continued, “You’ll get sick.”
“Worried about me, are you Potter?” he said, raising his eyebrows. “Why don’t you think the soaked-to-the-bone look works for me?”
You chuckled.
“You didn’t answer my question,”
“Ah, I was here on ministry business but I guess I won’t be able to get it done now,” he said slowly looking around. “Was trying to find a place I could apparate safely. Too many muggles around.”
You furrowed your eyebrows noticing your surroundings again.
“Come with me,” you suggested. “My apartment is nearby and you could dry off before leaving.”
Regulus looked like he wanted to refuse but you cut him off.
“You’ll only ruin your health here, come with me— also it’s been a long while since we talked,” you pointed out and Regulus looked at you curiously. His mouth quirked upwards and he nodded. The two of you moved to the quaint three-story building, climbing up the stairs before reaching your door. You muttered in some spells before hearing a click.
“Don’t trust muggle locks?” Regulus said smugly as you rolled your eyes.
Waving your wand, you started up the fire; the warmth tickling your skin. Regulus took to drying himself off— murmuring incantations. You took to keeping the bags in the kitchen, putting up a kettle for some tea. Taking off your scarf, you sighed and sneaked a glance at Regulus who was now standing awkwardly looking around the house.
“You know you can sit, right?” you asked him. Shaking his head a little, he went to sit down in front of the fireplace. You took out some cups and an assortment of tea bags placing them in a tray along with some cookies you had bought the same day. Regulus smiled as you came in.
“Which one will you have?” you inquired as he gently took the cup from your hand. “Ah, still can’t have tea made by anyone else?”
Regulus threw you a grin.
“It’s a disastrous habit.”
The two of you sat in silence for a while, the tea pleasantly hot against your throat. Rain thrummed at the roof, the noise filling up the place.
“So—”
“How—”
You laughed. Indicating at him to continue, you raised the cup to your lips again.
“So what have you been up to?”
“I’ve been managing dad’s business. Since James joined a quidditch team, there was no one to help so I stood up. I quite like it, it gives me enough room to be creative;” you said softly. “How about you? Tell me something other than your ministry job.”
“Well I tried my hand at painting,” Regulus said after thinking for a while. “Remember how you used to tell me to try it?”
“You had the most gorgeous handwriting and the diagrams you made were always so perfect. Could you blame me?”
Regulus rolled his eyes, smiling as dimples formed on his cheeks. He looked beautiful like that. Curls of hair falling over his forehead, relaxed and carefree. You missed it.
“What?” he asked his cheeks a rosy color. You shrugged.
“Nothing, it’s good to see you after all this time,” you said, ignoring how your stomach tickled. “Remember how we promised to stay in touch?”
“Oh yes,” Regulus said, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “Right after your brother glared at me and threatened to hex me if I don’t stop talking to you.”
You snickered.
“You know he is quite the idiot,” you countered. “And my parents would’ve been proud if I brought you home.”
Regulus raised an eyebrow.
“Brought me home, huh?” he said as you bit your tongue, looking away. “Did you fancy me, love?”
You narrowed your eyes at him, trying and failing to keep a straight face. It was something about the way he called you love that made you feel like a teenager with a crush again.
“The point is,” you pressed. “The point is that it never mattered what James did or said. He couldn’t do anything to keep us from being friends.”
“Yeah, friends.” Regulus breathed. You almost missed it.
The room fell silent again and you could hear the pitter-patter of the rain. Regulus picked up a cookie before speaking again.
“Do you still like doing puzzles?” he said as your eyes lit up.
“Yes, I do,” you said, reminding yourself of all the times the two of you spent together. “I never quite got over it after all the hours we spent together. Sirius used to mutter ‘mental’ whenever he saw us working over one. Especially since we always took up the one which seemed impossible to do.”
Regulus grinned, nodding.
“I don’t think he ever had the patience for it.”
“You know;” you said pondering. “I have bought a puzzle recently. Would you like to do it with me? For old time’s sake.”
“And here I thought it’s because you enjoy my company,” he said with a smug expression. Your heartbeat erratically and you found yourself hating how he still affected you.
“So that’s a yes?” you said, overlooking his jab. Regulus clicked his tongue accepting.
You got up slowly taking out the box you had bought a few days earlier. It was a fiery phoenix, looking at you intently. Regulus rubbed his hands and sat down on the floor beside you. He gasped a little when you put the box down.
“You know, I bought the exact same one about a week ago,” he said, helping you open the pack. “It’s missing a piece.”
You furrowed your eyebrows and Regulus shrugged.
“Should I bring another one? I have—”
“No no let’s do this one, it was fun.”
Folding your legs, you sat down beside him, your arms touching. Starting from the corner the two of you put together pieces. A sense of calm eloped you. The house and everything with it seemed to blur away. Just you, him, and the puzzle remained. It was different from your memories though, neither of you were children anymore. The adoration you had for him somehow hit harder now. Your hand touched his several times and you beamed at him as the puzzle came together.
“Aha!” you exclaimed putting the last piece in its place. It looked pretty. You looked over at Regulus, who was holding a stray piece in his hand, oblivious to what you said.
“Reg? Earth to Reg?” you called out as he finally looked over at you.
“I’m pretty sure you’re my soulmate,” he said as you felt your ears heat up.
“What—”
“This,” he said, indicating the odd puzzle piece. “This is the exact piece my set was missing.”
You snorted trying to deflect how your chest was filled with butterflies.
“Oh? And that makes us soulmates?” you asked, amusedly. “Since when did you believe in soulmates even?”
Regulus had the decency to blush.
“Well didn’t you always say our lives were a big puzzle?” he started. “Right now, you have a portion of mine.”
You didn’t know whether to laugh at the cheesiness or pull him close at the very same moment.
“You’re a dork!” you said poking his head with your finger. The boy smiled but it was strained. His demeanor changed. You could practically see his walls building up. Did you say something wrong?
“Reg,” you said urgently. He hummed in response. “Was that soulmate thing a joke or you meant it? Even if a little?”
Regulus avoided your eyes.
“Does it matter?”
“Yes, yes it does.”
“Yeah well then I like you,” he said, looking down. “Always have. But I know you don’t and…”
You put a finger to his lips, stopping him.
“I do,” you said as his stormy grey eyes landed on your own. He cradled your cheek, leaning in tentatively, glancing at your lips. You heaved a sigh as his mouth finally met yours. Grabbing his collar, you kissed him softly. When you pulled back, you had a smile on your face.
“Now that wasn’t how I was expecting the day to go at all,” you commented, delighted. Regulus held your hand kissing the knuckles.
“We’re going to have more of these puzzle dates, aren’t we, love?” he said as you rested your head against his shoulder, interlinking your fingers with his.
“We are.”

Hey!! I'm obsessed with your soulmates swap aus, really i love them they're so good i can't even explain 😭
Could i ask you one with kid but no one can really see they exchanged bodies 'cause they are literally the same? Like y/n has the same character as kid so they seems literally the same as always and it's quite a problem.
Thank you if you do, have a nice day 💕
helloo anon my love! ❤ i'm so so glad you like them! i'm sorry i took long, by the way! but here it is, and i hope you like it! have a nice day ❤
— What are you looking at? — you snapped at someone at the bar. That person was looking at you for you don’t even know how long.
— (Y/N), calm down. It’s your birthday, don’t stress trying to fight again. — one of your friends asked, holding your arm. — Just leave it.
You sighed, taking a sip of your drink. It was easy for you to get irritated and start a fight, you had quite a temper, and honestly, you don’t know how your friends put up with you. The only reason why you didn’t get into more fights, it was because of them.
— I swear, your soulmate better be someone calm. — another friend giggled. — Imagine if they have that temper.
— It’d be a chaos. — you laughed, forgetting about the fight you almost started before. — But I guess the world couldn’t handle a couple like that. I hope they’re level headed.
It was late when you went back home, and you fell asleep right after, hoping you wouldn’t have a hangover the next morning.
Your peaceful slumber got interrupted with a loud bang on the door. Since when your roommate got so aggressive? You barely had time to open your eyes, and realize you were sitting on a chair, in front of a desk, in a room that wasn’t yours. It smelled like oil and metal. What an awful time to switch bodies with your soulmate.
You knew it’d happen eventually, but it wasn’t something you looked forward to, unlike your friends who acted as if it was such an event.
— Kid, the ship just docked. — someone said. — We’ll go get some supplies and head to a bar.
— Go away! — you screamed, still in shock while looking at that body which obviously wasn’t yours.
The man had scars on his chest and right arm, while apparently he didn’t have his left arm, replaced with a heavy mechanical one. You looked at the long coat over your shoulder, the vest and his pants and couldn’t help laughing at his fashion taste. How tacky.
— What a clown. — you whispered to yourself, still laughing. — Out of all people, this is my soulmate? How lucky…
You got up and headed to a bathroom, maybe when you washed your face and actually felt awake, you could find a solution to switch back and go home. Looking at the broken and dirty mirror, your soulmate was very attractive. He had red hair, no eyebrows, a scar on the left side of his face, and goggles. He’s someone you’d look at if you saw him at a bar.
— Now, how do I find him? — you asked yourself. — Well, if he’s in my body, I’ll call my house. I’m sure there’s a den den mushi here somewhere.
When you left the bathroom, you tried to find the transponder snail. It took a while, walking from room to room, but you finally spotted one in what seemed to be the captain’s bedroom. You started calling your house, hoping that your soulmate would answer.
— What?! — the man answered. — If you’re the person who is in my body, you better find a way to switch back.
— Look, I’m not happy with this situation either. I want to go back to my body, so what do we do now?
He sighed, obviously as annoyed as you were.
— I’m the captain of this ship, so you tell my crew to come here to your island so we can switch back. Don’t let people know what’s going on, I don’t want anyone to know about that. I have a damn reputation.
— Are you even that relevant? — you laughed.
— Watch it, just because you’re my soulmate it doesn’t mean you can talk to me like that.
You rolled your eyes, hanging up before replying. First, you went to the kitchen, feeling thirsty. Luckily they had some beer. You took one, and soon enough, you found one of the crew members that stayed on the ship. You demanded to go to your island quick.
— We need to go there. It’s important, and don’t ask any questions, I’ll be working on something or whatever.
You went back to Kid’s workshop, slamming the door behind you. Being in another body was annoying. You didn't know who this person was, you were far from home, and his mechanical arm was so heavy it was bothering you.
When a tall blonde man wearing a mask knocked on the door, opening it right after, you just told him to go away, threatening to throw something at him if he didn’t leave. After that, everyone left you alone.
The only time when anyone knocked on the door after that, was the next morning, when someone said they arrived at the destination.
Finally!
— I’ll be back soon. I don’t want neither of you following me around, got it? — you asked and the crew nodded.
You left the ship, going towards your house. And when the door opened you saw your figure, which was very weird.
— Took you long enough! — he said with a frown. — How do we switch back now?
— I should’ve know you don’t understand about soulmates. — you sighed. — We need to kiss.
— Is that all? — he seemed surprised, thinking it was too easy to be true. — Then let’s kiss now!
— It’s not a simple kiss, you fool. It’s a kiss when we’re in love, which it’s probably not going to happen, so we need to figure something out.
Kid yelled, complained, cussed, and finally accepted how things really were. You two tried to talk without bickering on each other, trying to think of another solution. And after a long discussion, with you yelling at him, both decided that you needed to stay with him on the Victoria Punk until you could switch back.
The crew kept whispering, curious about who was that small person that their Captain just brought to the ship. Maybe an affair? A new member or an ally? No one dared to ask him directly, though, especially since he was in a bad mood.
Kid still didn’t want the crew to know, even though Killer was smart enough and could probably help. You spent many times together at his workshop, seeing him work while you complained you were bored. At night, you two agreed that sleeping in his room would be the best. The red haired man let you keep the bed, saying he didn’t want his body to be sick or in pain, apparently. Whenever his mechanical arm got too heavy, he tried to ease the weight or help you take it off.
Eventually, you had longer conversations with him, seeing you two had a lot in common, surprisingly.
The showers were a little weird, especially during the first few times, when he kept saying your body was very hot, making you feel flustered for the first time in your life. But after a while, it just felt normal.
It has been almost a month since you two met. The ship had docked and everyone was at a bar. A man was flirting with you, or well, with Kid, while thinking it was you. Indeed, you used to draw attention from people when you went out, and you forgot about that until a man was approaching Eustass, complimenting his beautiful looks.
Feeling annoyed, and perhaps even a little jealous thinking that other men wanted you, he got up from his sit and pulled you into a kiss. Of course, the crew had their eyes open. Who knew the mysterious person Kid brought was that straightforward, and who knew their captain would let someone steal a kiss from him.
The kiss wasn’t romantic or cute. It was full of passion and desire, it was unexpected and possessive, as if he was saying “you’re mine”. He bit your lip, and it felt like he was claiming you. Honestly, it was a good feeling, as if you’ve been waiting, without even knowing, for him to make this first move.
You felt butterflies, something you’ve never felt before.
When you opened your eyes, you saw his figure towering over you, and a grin that wouldn’t leave his face so soon. He pulled you closer, making it clear that you were his. He didn’t even ask, but your answer would be “yes” anyway.
— I can’t believe we finally switched back. — he laughed, flexing his arm. — I missed my body.
The crew gasped.
— Switch back? — Heat asked. — Wait, you were in (Y/N)’s body this whole time? And (Y/N) was in your body?
— I must say, I’m surprised. I couldn’t notice any difference. — Killer said. — You two are very alike.
At first, you two seemed offended until realizing the masked man was actually right. You two has the same personality, and it wasn’t what you expected your soulmate to be. Someone peaceful and quiet would be fun, but someone who could raise a little hell with you could be even better.
— You’re annoying sometimes, but I want you to sail with me anyway. — he said gently lifting your chin with his index finger, still with his signature smirk on his face.

felix’s lips brush against your swollen ones as he leans his forehead against yours. his eyes were twinkling with love and admiration and you couldn’t help, but giggle. “what?” you ask.
“you’re beautiful,” he breathes, pecking your lips before moving to your neck. you wrap your arms around his neck as he peppers kisses on your skin. you wonder if you were ready to bare everything to him, let him see all that you are, scars and all. the thought makes you close your eyes as you grip his back and feel your body start to heat up.
this was all that it was between the two of you. soft kisses turn into heated make out sessions, hands roaming all over each other’s bodies, but, it never turned into something more. felix told you that he was willing to wait and you believed him. he never once tried to slip his hands in your pants or touch you in ways you weren’t ready for. instead, he slips his tongue in your mouth to clash with yours and it’s as sweet as they described sex to be.
“lix,” you mumble. you didn’t need to repeat his name as he comes up to meet your eyes immediately. there was worry in his eyes, but the dashes of love still remained. he raises an eyebrow.
“yes?”
“i, um, i—“ you stumble over your words and he pulls away slightly to get a better look at you.
“did i go too far?” felix frowns to himself, getting off of you to give you space. that was what you loved about him. he was always quick to get off of you if things get too heated or when he hears you call out his name from above him. he always respected your boundaries.
“no, no, i just—“ you sigh, sitting up on the couch, “i just feel like i’m ready.”
felix’s eyes widen and a soft blush rises up to his cheeks. you giggle as your cheeks mimic his. you couldn’t believe the words that came out of your mouth, but it felt right. if you were to lose your virginity to someone, it would be to him, to felix. you couldn’t see anyone else and you trusted no one else.
so, here you were, nervous, to say the least. tonight was the night and you didn’t know if you were actually ready to let him see everything, but then again, he was felix, your boyfriend, the man you see yourself marrying in the future. he wasn’t perfect, but he made sure you felt that way. there are many things in your life that’s unsure, but one thing is constant: felix loves you and he makes sure you feel that way everyday even though you weren’t together physically.
a knock on your apartment door breaks your line of thought. your heart pounds in your chest as you make your way to it. reaching out to the door knob, your hand starts to shake and thoughts of self-loathing popped up in your head.
what if he doesn’t like the way you look, the way you sound in bed? and if he sees the scars on your thighs, would he say anything? ignore it? be turned off? would it ruin the mood? woul—
another knock gets you out of your trance. even though you had those thoughts swimming in your head, you knew you had to let felix in, literally and figuratively. you shake your head to yourself as you turn the door knob.
your sight is filled with your soulmate. he’s wearing a black shirt with stripes of yellow adorning its sleeves. his sweatpants are light colored and he looks great as always. your heart melts as he smiles when your eyes meet for the first time that night.
“do you usually check out the people on your doorstep?” felix jokes as you move aside to let him in. you blush, closing the door. damn him, already starting the night with teasing. you can’t help but wonder if he’ll be the same way in bed.
“only the attractive ones,” you respond, giggling. felix turns around to face you, head tilted as an amused smile takes over his lips. your eyes move to gaze at his lips for a brief moment before letting your eyes lock on his again. maybe it was the lust you’re starting to feel, but felix looks different tonight.
“so, i’m attractive to you?” he continues to tease. you feel his eyes trail down your back when you start walking in the direction of your bedroom. you’re glad that your back is turned to him because he can’t see you blush now. if he wanted to tease, then two can play at that game.
“you wouldn’t be walking to my room if you weren’t,” you answer, stopping in front of your bedroom door. before you could open the door, you feel felix’s hands on your waist and he turns you around. your eyes travel to his neck and you can’t help but think of how good hickeys would look on his neck at this moment. you see him lick his bottom lip, keeping his hands on your waist.
you and felix stare at each other for what seems like forever, the air becoming more and more charged as time passed by. he finally closes the space between the both of you by leaning in and pressing his lips on yours. your arms wrap around his neck as you pull him in deeper. he chuckles lowly on your lips, removing one hand from your waist to put on the door behind you. your skin yearns for both of his warm hands, but his lips were warm enough to keep you company for the time being. your lips continue to move in sync as his other hand reaches for the door knob and he twists it. both of you stumble into room without removing your lips from each other’s. felix pulls away briefly to close the door behind him and you whine softly.
“i’m right here, princess,” felix chuckles before pressing his lips on yours again. you couldn’t stand in the middle of the room forever, so you start walking back to your bed, lips not leaving his. your hands cup his cheeks and you feel the back of your knees hit the edge of the bed. felix puts a hand on your lower back for support as you lay your back down on the bed. he pulls away to remove his shirt and your eyes travel down his torso, taking him in.
felix definitely looked different tonight. when did his body get so toned and why have you never noticed? you feel your lips drying up, not only at the sight of his body, but at the thought of what tonight has to offer. he smiles softly as he gently opens your legs so that he could settle in. you moan softly when your lips collide once again. in response, felix hooks his thumb in the waistband of your shorts.
your eyes fly open as reality begins to set in your veins. you were about to get naked in front of someone else, bare everything and let him see the scars you struggled for so long to accept and even look at. you slightly push him away and a flash of worry shows up on his face. “um—“ you start.
felix gets off of you slowly, opting to sit beside you on the bed. “we don’t have to if you don’t want to, y/n,” he mumbles as he moves closer to hold onto your shoulder in an effort to comfort you. you shake your head gently.
“it’s not that,” you whisper, looking back up at him, “i just, i haven’t been completely honest with you—“
“i’m not your first?” felix cuts you off before shaking his head quickly, “it’s fine, i get it. it doesn’t change how i—“
“no!” you exclaim, surprising the both of you. “no, it’s not that,” you repeat softly as you grab his hand on your shoulder and you intertwine his fingers with yours. you take a deep breath before opening your mouth to speak again. “i, um, i used to cut myself,” you let out a soft groan as you hang your head down. it was much harder to admit out loud, you’ve come to realize, and the next thing you know there are tears falling down your eyes. felix immediately wraps his arms around you to pull you into his bare chest. you feel him rubbing circles on your back as your chest continued to heave. what a mood kill, you think to yourself.
after a while, you pull away and he cups your cheeks, forcing you to face and look at him. he uses his thumbs to brush away the tears that were still in the edges of your eyes and you fight the urge to cry again. he looks at you fondly before moving in and pressing a soft kiss on your forehead. “i’m proud of you,” he breathes against your skin, “for having the courage to tell me.” you close your eyes at his words, letting them wrap their arms around your body. this wasn’t the reaction you were expecting, but it was already better than anything you ever imagined.
“you’re brave. you don’t have to hide from me, princess,” felix mumbles, pecking your forehead once more. you shudder at the gentleness of his actions, but this was felix. you didn’t know what else you expected from your loving boyfriend.
“i love you all the same.”
you smile at his words, sniffling and open your eyes, his brown ones staring right back at you. you find yourself falling even deeper for him and you can’t complain. “hey,” he greets playfully.
“hey,” you whisper back, moving in to kiss his lips for the nth time tonight. you still couldn’t get enough of him, even after all this time and you couldn’t believe that this man, out of all of them, fell right into your lap.
felix gently urges you to lie back down on the bed by leaning into you as your lips both continued to move. it was soft and sweet, like everything in your relationship. he has always been careful and gentle with you and you can’t help but wonder if that’ll change after this night together with him. the thought makes you giddy, giggling on his lips as you feel your back hit the mattress again.
“wait,” felix says as he pulls away, “you still want this right?” you nod at his words, reaching out to caress his cheek. “i need you to say it, sweetheart.”
“yes, felix, i still want this,” you whisper shakily, opening your legs again to invite him back in. he settles in between them again and you smile as you feel him hardening in his sweatpants.
“100%. i’m all yours tonight.”
felix’s pupils dilate as he hears you and he latches his lips on your neck. whatever nervousness you had before this is now gone and has been replaced with thoughts of felix and how good he was at pleasuring you without even doing anything yet. you feel him chuckle when you absentmindedly buck your hips up into his. you blush.
“patience, my love. we have all night,” felix mumbles against your skin. his lips travel down from your neck to your chest. your eyes flutter close, breathing becoming heavier as you realize fully what you got yourself into and how much you want it. he tugs on your shirt and you nod. he carefully pulls it over your head, putting the shirt down somewhere on the bed. felix looks back down at you and you watch as his eyes trail down to your chest. you’ve never felt so exposed in your life, but somehow, it feels right.
“beautiful.”
before you could respond, felix’s lips are on your chest, cupping one breast in his hand, while the other is on your hip. you sigh his name out and you feel him smile against your skin. your skin was burning, yet you yearned for more. you find yourself bucking your hips up again, but this time, felix uses his other hand to keep your hips grounded.
you whimper in response. his hand on your breast moves to your back, unclasping your bra. you gasp as you feel the cold air hit your nipples and you giggle nervously. “you do that well,” you tease. felix’s eyes gaze up to you, slightly hooded.
“i practice,” he jokes, winking at you briefly, and you let out a soft snort. practice, the word rings in your mind as you feel his lips around your nipple. you moan when he wraps his lips around your nipple, his tongue gently swirling it around. you close your eyes and you feel his eyes on you.
“do you feel good?” felix asks, voice pitched lower than usual, as he removes his mouth on your nipple. if you were strong enough right now, you would smack the back of his head. you open your eyes to playfully glare at him. he removes the hand on your hip to raise it up in mock surrender. he laughs, eyes crinkling at the sides. “alright, i’ll keep doing it.”
“thank you,” you breathe out dramatically, putting your head down on the pillow behind you. your back slightly arches when he moves his lips to your other nipple, giving it the same attention as your other one. goosebumps rise on your skin when he gently pushes your breasts together to give them soft kisses. you sigh his name and he smiles.
“you’re always so beautiful, y/n,” felix praises, moving down further on your body. your core pulses ever so slightly and you realize how much you wanted this even if self-doubt start to fill your head again. you gather the courage to look down at him while he presses soft kisses on your stomach, teasingly staying there. felix gazes up again, eyes meeting yours. you bite your lip and he chuckles.
“you’re nervous,” he mumbles.
“of course i am,” you answer. felix shakes his head as he hooks his thumb in the waistband of your shorts again and your breath hitches when he slowly pulls them down. “you seem to know what you’re doing, love,” you shakily state.
“i practice,” felix repeats, giggling softly as he leans back up to remove your shorts fully. he softly groans at the sight of you and you try to cover yourself up.
“no, sweetheart,” felix whines, leaning back down to stop you from covering yourself, “you’re perfect.” you hum at his words, goosebumps returning to your skin as he moves down to stay in between your thighs. there, you realize he sees your scars, his long fingers tracing them.
“these look like battle scars,” he jokes. you were about to respond, but he cuts you off with soft kisses to the scars you hid for so long. “don’t be ashamed of them,” felix murmurs and you sigh. something erupts in your chest and you find yourself crying again. why did you ever feel that the scars were something to be ashamed off? why did you ever think that felix will look at you differently? he’s proven time and time again that he’s in love with you and nothing will change that. you put your arm over you eyes as the tears continue to flow. felix continues to kiss them, moving closer to your core with every kiss.
“these just tell me how strong you are,” felix continues and you let out a small moan in response. “just,” he pauses to raise his head up to look at you. you remove your arm on your eyes as you lock eyes with him. “promise me you won’t do this to yourself again.”
you bite your lip, sniffling softly as you nod. “i promise.”
felix grins, leaning back down to press a soft kiss on your clit as a form of reward. you gasp, head falling back to the pillow as your hand reaches out to grip his hair. “my strong princess,” felix mutters against your clit. the vibrations from his voice travel all over your body and you shudder, hand gripping his hair tighter. he kisses your scars one last time before focusing on your clothed clit again.
“god, you smell so sweet, my princess. i wonder how you taste.”
your mouth falls open when he moves your panties to the side, pressing another soft kiss on your clit. felix groans and the vibrations from it make your legs open wider. you never knew how good his lips felt on your nub until you actually felt it moving against you. sure, you’ve imagined it before, but nothing could have prepared you for how well he did it and how it took you to heaven and back.
“you’ve been hiding this from me?” felix teases, voice now in its lowest. you try to giggle as a blush forms on your cheeks, but only a moan leaves you as he continues to move his lips on your clit, sucking on it lightly when he gets the chance to. you feel his fingers making its way to where you wanted him most. your grip on his hair loosens as your hand starts to shake. this shouldn’t feel this good. he wasn’t even doing anything that intense, yet you already feel a knot in your stomach forming. you don’t know if you’re supposed to be mad about how good felix was already making you feel with his lips.
you breathe his name out when he removes his lips from your clit. felix wets his finger by sucking on it before looking back up at you.
“you ready?”
“ready as i’ll ever be,” you whisper. felix nods, inserting a finger into you. both of you groan, your free hand gripping the sheets beside you. it burned, but felix stops halfway through to let you adjust to his finger. you couldn’t believe this was happening, but here you were, legs spread open with lee felix in between them, and his finger halfway inside you.
“move,” you gasp and felix obliges. he thrusts his finger in slowly, making sure you’re fully adjusted before increasing his speed. you feel yourself get wetter when he attaches his lips on your clit again. he catches you off guard when he licks a long stripe up to your clit. your back arches, eyes closing as his finger continues to move inside you. when your back settles on the bed again, you open one eye lazily to look down at him.
the sight takes your breath away. felix’s eyes were closed as well, his actions interchanging between sucking your clit with his lips and lapping your folds with his tongue. he was beautiful like this and you find yourself calling out to him. felix opens his eyes, tilting his head as he pulls away from your cunt, finger slightly slowing down.
“another, please,” you beg softly. felix blinks at your request as if not fully comprehending it at first. he pulls his finger out and you find your walls clenching at nothing. he sucks two fingers before plunging them in you slowly. you moan his name and he chuckles against your clit.
“you’re doing well, sweetheart,” he praises, his mouth resuming its actions on your clit. you find yourself wanting more, his two fingers not filling you up as much as you wanted. a blush forms on your cheeks again as you realize what that meant. you wanted his cock, knowing that you were ready for it. the thought makes you wetter as his fingers continue to move inside you. he curves his fingers and you whimper.
“you’re getting tighter,” felix mumbles. “you want to cum on my fingers, princess?”
you moan out a yes, tears threatening to spill from your eyes again as you start to get overwhelmed. this was going to be your first orgasm of the night and you know it won’t be the last. you cry out his name and a jumble of other words when you spill all over his fingers. your legs start to shake from the intensity of your first orgasm, with felix’s free hand on your lower stomach keeping you grounded. if this was how it felt every time, fuck, you were willing to do this with felix everyday. if he wanted to, that is.
felix thrusts his fingers slowly before pulling them out fully. you whine at the lack of contact, but he makes up for it when he presses his warm lips on the scars on your thighs again. “so beautiful, my princess,” felix hums as he pecks your clit one last time before coming back up to kiss your lips.
you moan into the kiss as you taste yourself on felix’s lips. you shakily reach down to tug on his sweatpants. he pulls away to gaze at your hand that’s trying to remove his sweatpants and he laughs softly. “they’ll come off in a second, princess.”
“i wanna suck you off,” you whine. felix raises an eyebrow before shaking his head.
“tonight’s all about you, baby. i can wait.”
“but—“
“no buts. let me take care of you tonight, okay?” you let out a sigh at his words before nodding. maybe after this he’ll let you, but for now, you were willing to let him do whatever he wanted to you. that’s how much you trusted your lover. you knew he would deliver and if he wanted to take care of you, you wouldn’t deny him of the opportunity.
felix reaches into his pocket to grab the box of condoms he brought as you sit up to slip your panties off. you look up at him and you laugh.
“do you bring condoms that way all the time?” you tease, giggling when he raises an eyebrow in confusion. “you should have brought only one.” felix shakes his head as he opens the box up to grab a condom packet.
“who said we needed only one for tonight?”
your eyes widen at his response and it was his turn to laugh. you reach up to smack his shoulder and he only laughs harder. “you’re such an asshole,” you huff playfully, leaning back down on the bed as he starts to pull down his sweatpants.
“you love me though,” felix hums nonchalantly. there he was, lee felix, wearing only his boxers as he kneeled in between your legs. the gap between the two of you was so little that you could feel the warmth of his member radiating on yours. your imagination ran wild, but nothing compared to when he pulled down his boxers. you gasp. you’ve felt him through his pants before, but you never thought he’d be this big. the head of his cock was red, precum staining it as it twitches with need. you swallow and for a second, worry coats his face and his shoulders tense up. “are you okay?”
you nod in response, feeling yourself getting wet again. “i just don’t know if you’ll fit, lix.” felix lets out a breath through his nose, shoulders relaxing. you cover your face with your hands as you blush profusely. you hear him opening the condom packet and you spread your fingers apart to get a look at him putting the condom on.
“trust me,” he reaches out to grab your wrists, gently pulling your hands away from your face. you shudder at the sight of him when you look down. he lets go of your wrists, a finger positioning itself under your chin to lift it up so your eyes meet. “you’ll be okay.”
“if it hurts, just tell me,” felix leans down to peck your lips and you whimper when he pulls away. he scrunches his eyebrows, amused, before lining himself up at your entrance. you hiss softly when he pushes the head in gently. this burn was different from the burn you felt when he used his fingers on you. this burn stung and he stops when the head enters you fully. you grip his shoulder as you bite your lip.
felix doesn’t tear his eyes away from you as he continues to push in as little as he could. as much as he wanted to feel good, his main priority was you and you couldn’t thank him enough. you throw your head back as he bottoms out, your walls opening up to accommodate felix’s cock inside you. he leans down to connect your lips together, the soft warmth of his lips serving as a direct contrast from the burn inside you. once he pulls away, he hangs his head down, your name falling from his lips as he feels your walls pulsing and adjusting to his length.
“are you okay?” felix asks. you nod as you feel the burn subsiding after a while. you tap his shoulder as a way to tell him to move, your words already failing you. felix uses his hands to support his weight as he puts them beside your head. he starts to move and it feels even better than you could have ever imagined. you grip his shoulder again as you feel yourself getting wetter by the minute.
“felix,” you sigh, wrapping your arms around his neck as he continues to thrust inside. he opens his eyes to look into yours. his eyes are dilated and you could tell he was holding back. nevertheless, his eyes held love in them and you knew that if ever you wanted to stop, he would gladly do so, no matter how good he feels. felix grips the headboard in front of him as he braces himself to go faster in you. he looks down to ask for your approval and you nod. the movement of his hips slow as he readies himself.
“let me make you feel good.”
you nod at his words, mouth going dry at the thought of what he might be planning.
felix already felt good at this pace, what more if he goes faster? you remove your arms from his neck, hands trailing down to his toned chest. he surprises you with a rough thrust and you gasp, his name rolling off your tongue. he thrusts again, his cock curving in you in a way that hits your spot perfectly. you let out a broken moan. you never believed in the concept of heaven, but being under felix might change your mind. the way he took care of you, the way he made you feel immaculate, makes you wonder if this was heaven itself.
felix picks up his pace, your head falling back to the pillow. you put your hands on his waist and you feel the goosebumps rise on his body once your hands make contact. he opens his eyes as he gives you a small smirk. you giggle breathlessly, a blush forming on your cheeks. even though he was on top of you, making you think and feel sinful things, he was still the man you fell in love with, a tease and way too cheeky for his own good. you fall into incoherent moans once again as he increases the speed of his hips, the sound of your skin meeting his echoing in the room.
“god baby,” felix groans, his pace slightly faltering, “you feel so good around me.” you let out a soft whine at his words, leaning to give him a rough kiss. he sloppily returns the kiss and when you pull away, his eyebrows scrunch as he focuses on the task at hand.
you’re moaning and crying out his name as your back arches from the bed. you feel the knot on your stomach forming again and you know you’re about to spill all over him for the second time tonight. you clench around felix and he moans brokenly.
“fuck,” he breathes out, “are you close?”
you nod, words not being enough to describe what you were feeling as of the moment. his name becomes a mantra to you as he continues to pound into your cunt. you reach up to grip at his hair, your name and a babble of his nicknames for you falling out of his mouth as he tries to get you where you needed to be.
“can you cum for me, princess?” he asks, slightly out of breath as you notice a bead of sweat falling down the side of his face.
“cum for me. please cum for me.”
felix pleads softly and before you know it, you’re screaming out his name as you feel your juices flow down his cock. felix grunts when you repeat his name over and over again, like you’ll end up forgetting it. if there was a heaven on earth, this was it. felix was sure of it and you felt the same way.
“you’re such a good girl for me, baby, fuck, you’re so good—“ felix rambles as he tries to reach his own high. “you’re so fucking good, fuck, fuck, fuck—“
lee felix ruined you tonight, but here he was, putting you back together again as he finishes inside you with a loud groan of your name. he leans back down into you to bury his face on your neck. both of your chests heave as you both try to catch your breath. you put a hand on his hair to stroke it and to remind him that you were still here with him. he presses a soft kiss on your neck before getting off of you to pull out.
you look at him and you realize that you want this forever, even though you felt as if you didn’t deserve it. if felix was willing to spend forever with you, you were in no position to say no because you wanted the same thing. he comes back to the bed to lay down next to you, both of your bodies sweaty from the events that just transpired. felix sheepishly grabs you and pulls you into him.
“did you feel good? was that good?” felix questions quietly. you sit up on your elbow to look at him, tilting your head with your eyebrows scrunched together. how could he ask that when he was the man that gave you everything in one night? how could he ask that when he made you cum twice during your first time?
“of course, it was good, lix,” you mumble, leaning over to press a kiss on the tip of his nose. “it was better than good, 100 times better than good. you were amazing,” you pepper kisses all over his face and he giggles, still keeping his arms around you. “how about you,” you whisper on his skin, “did you feel good?”
“yes,” he answers without hesitation, “of course, why wouldn’t i feel good?” you playfully shrug, lying back down on his shoulder. the two of you lay in silence as you both come down from your highs, the sound of your breathing filling the room. you look up and notice that he had his eyes closed. you tap his chest and his eyes open.
you remove yourself from his arms, leaning over to the bedside table to grab the box of condoms he brought with him. you playfully twist it around your hands before pretending to read what was written on it. you glance at him and you see that he’s watching you with confusion written all over his face.
“you want to make use of every single one in here?” you question and he lets out a surprised chuckle. “i mean, we might—“
before you could finish, he’s already pining you down on the bed. “we might as well,” he finishes the sentence for you and you smile at him cheekily.
