HIII IM BACK!! Sorry if this doesnât make any sense btw. My mind is lowkey blank rn, and idek what I say sometimes. Anyways ONTO THE TOPIC.
First off all, Mikey⌠Sigh, where do I even start⌠Heâs interesting to me. For me, he's hot and cold, and he switches up so fast that heâd most likely give you a whiplash (could be because of his dark impulse? Iâm not sure yet). Speaking of that, when would his dark impulse come out? Or when would it âshineâ the most? Iâm curious how the reader would react to that or how itâll impact the story. Very many different ways, and they all will be terrible Iâm sure⌠Iâm so excited for new updates but also hella fucking terrified lmao. Iâd say out of the two, I think Mikey is a bit more lenient. Not to say heâs not cruel, but he wouldnât be AS cruel to her like Izana would. Though, since he doesnât physically abuse reader, I can tell his mind games bouta be CRAZYYYY. MANIPULATIVE MF ISTG. That scene in the car still traumatizes me. Mf had the audacity to put the blame and shame on HER WHEN HE FUCKING QNDJFKFK IM SO MAD JUST THINKING ABOUT IT AAAA. Also, this is probably a minor detail, but him in a criminology class is lowkey funny to me lol. Iâm surprised heâs actually attending classes. Does Izana do the same? Or would he not give a fuck?
Next, Izana. You crazy mf imma strangle you too- Mf said âIâm a king so kneelâď¸đ¤â BITCH U LOOK LIKE A LASH BUG STFU- (me when I know my dumbass would fold immediately when he told me that). Chapter 2 got me soooo fucked up, especially towards the end. My only saving grace is Kakucho fr, ik heâd never let me downđ¤đ¤ Izana is also manipulative af, but heâs ALSO not afraid to get physical with reader if he has to. I feel like the only reason why he DOESNâT is because of Emma. Or else the reader wouldâve been 6 feet under I fearâŚHOWEVER!! I saw the post of a small spoiler for chapter 3, the one where heâs talking with Kisaki. Even though Iâm not quite sure yet, when Kisaki asks Izana if heâs feeling guilty for pushing the reader to the edge like that, THAT got me thinking. Can Izana of all people feel guilty for almost making her commit suicide? He did say he thought about killing her himself at first, so whatâs stopping him really? I have a feeling he wouldnât develop any romantic feelings for her (yet?) this early on in the series (but I could be wrong, who knows), so why is he bothered at the thought of her dying? Killing people left and right is like a normal Tuesday for him. What do you think? Iâm curious.
Damn⌠this makes me think, what would happen if the reader isnât friends with Emma? Would she attract the attention of those two? Or would they not interact at all? I think they most likely wouldnât treat her as badly since she doesnât affect their relationship with Emma in any way if they arenât friends, but then again, itâs Mikey and Izana weâre talking about⌠For some reason, I think Izana would be the first one to notice the reader instead of Mikey. I think her kind and gentle nature would catch his attention without them interacting since Iâm sure heâs very perceptive (which is interesting considering how he is.) As for MikeyâŚwould he even go for someone like her in the first place? Ik everyoneâs game to him but idk, I feel like Mikey prefers someone who can keep up with him in a way, or at least matches his energy u know? Sheâs so fragile, he gon break herâŚ
Okay, enough yapping for now lmao. I really enjoy talking about this with you!! Itâs very very fun :)) (I have no one else who knows about monsters to yap tođ)
Okay okay
To answer your question, yep, it is the dark impulses that makes Mikey acts that way, especially around people that make him tick. And oh boy the further Monsters goes as a story, the more outspoken those dark impulses would be for him towards reader. You're completely spot on about Mikey being lenient with reader, as long as she does what he says and accepts his gifts or affection when he gives it, then everything will be fine. Eventually it won't be enough to just do what he says because of how unhinged he'd become as he loses himself to the darkness. As for reader, she's slowly realizing that there's something wrong with Mikey and she's going to try her best to placate Mikey whene those dark impulses eventually seep out until she can't take that kind of abuse anymore.
Izana does nawt like to attend classes. He pays someone to do it for him. Mikey enjoys his classes sometimes but hates how boring lectures can be
Izana is someone that would NOT hesitate to smack reader if she said something he didn't like ONCE. Really, he HAS gotten rid of people that pissed him off once, reader is lucky that Emma cared about her or he would have sold her into prostitution and nobody would have known. As for that snippet, that was based on the old chapter 2 before the edit, but Izana isn't completely heartless towards the reader. He has thought of murdering her himself, but at the same time he feels pity for her since she's as good as an orphan with how her parents abandoned her like his did. So that's what I think.
If she wasn't friends with Emma, her treatment would be far better, but not exactly good. Izana would be the first to notice her, but when he does get reader, she'd be more of a pet or an object rather than a human being to him. Mikey may not even have noticed her unless something makes their paths cross, and even then, she isn't his type of girl.
I really LOVE your asks sooo much. Thank you for yapping with me about monsters. Feel free to yap in my inbox anytime any day.

Meet Cute
Masterlist
Pairing: Xavier Thorpe x Hispanic!Reader
Summary: Y/Nâs parents decided to enroll her in Nevermore Academy. Since theyâre coming from New York, they decided to stay in a hotel for a few days to make sure Y/N has time to settle into the town before starting her first day at Nevermore. When roaming the town, she meets a 6â2 white boy
Warnings: Spanish with translations, kinda clichĂŠ
A/N: this is my brand now, Iâll probably write only Hispanic reader fanfics because again, this is what I know. Iâm also aware that âParents Dayâ was not my best work but I live and I learn
Y/N was in the backseat of the car, trying to make flowers grow out her hands because she was bored.
âAy cariĂąo, no pones esa cara (honey, donât make that face), i would have killed to go to a school with people who have powers like me.â Y/Nâs mom commented. Before moving to the states, she was in charge of agriculture. Y/Nâs mom made that plants and crops grow for her town because sometimes they would have droughts and that affected their livelihood.
âPor que no tienen una escuela en Nueva York? No me quiero quedar en Vermont (Why donât they have a school in New York? I donât want to stay in Vermont), Iâm going to feel like Belle, little town full of little people, thatâs the vibes Iâm getting.â Y/N said.
âEs por tĂş bien, mi niĂąa, en especial porque hiciste que creciera vides en clase y que amarraron a una compaĂąera tuya. Esa chamaca (Itâs for your own good, especially because you made vines grow in class and tied up your classmate. That girl) had a lawyer and everything,â Y/N dad commented. The girl made a snide comment about Y/Nâs friend and it got a little out of hand.
âSheâs lucky i didnât grow poison ivy.â Y/N said. A few more minutes of driving and they arrived at a local inn. âWe are going to meet the principal tomorrow to have you enrolled, puedes ir a darte la vuelta por el pueblito, toma dinero para que compras algo de comer (You can walk around town, hereâs some money to buy some food), call me if you need me, vamos a dejar nuestras cosas en el cuarto (weâre gonna leave our stuff in the room).â Y/Nâs mom said.
Y/N was kinda hungry from the long drive so when she saw some coffee shop named the Weathervane, she was intrigued. She entered the Weathervane and was looking around until a boy thatâs waiting in line spoke up.
âYouâre new around here?â The tall boy asked. Y/N found him sort of cute, he was wearing grey sweatpants and a dark blue zip up hoodie. âSort of, i just got here. Is there anything you would recommend?â Y/N asked. âIf youâre in the mood for something sweet, there are muffins. If you want savory, thereâs a deli near here.â The boy said.
âI will get something sweet then. Iâm Y/N by the way.â Y/N said, sticking out her hand to the boy. âXavierâ Xavier said and shook her hand. Xavier was up next to order and that he did. Y/N then ordered for herself and paid. âDo you wanna sit at a booth together? Tat way youâll know at least someone in the Podunk town.â Xavier suggested. âI would like that very much.â They waited for their orders before they went and chose a booth.
âWhat brings you to Jericho?â Xavier asked Y/N. âSchool, basically. Got expelled from the one in New York.â Y/N said. âWhat did you get expelled for?â Xavier asked, very interested. For strangling a girl with vines Y/N answers in her head âFor a fight.â Y/N answered out loud.
âIm sure that person deserved it though, you donât seem like the type to fight for no reason. Iâve been suspended before.â Xavier mentioned. âOoh, pray tell, what can a tall and lanky boy like you do go get suspended?â Y/N asked. Animated the ravens from my mural to attack a normie that was bullying my friend, Ajax Xavier answered in his head. âAlso fighting, they were sent to the hospital.â Xavier said. Xavier and Y/N kept talking, both of them filtering out certain parts of the stories theyâre talking each other
For all Y/N knows, he could be a muggle in Harry Potter terms. Just like Y/N, Xavier also thinks sheâs a normie. Everything was going well until Y/N received a text from her dad to come back to the hotel.
âHey so I gotta goâŚhome, hereâs my phone so you can put your contact in there.â Y/N said handing him her phone. Xavier did just that, taking a selfie to put as his contact picture. âIâll text you later, nice meeting you.â Y/N said leaving the Weathervane.
Xavier went back to Nevermore and went to his art shed. He played some Chase Atlantic on his phone while he was painting a portrait of Y/N. He was almost finished when his phone buzzed, signaling that he has gotten a text.
Unknown number: Hey Xavier, itâs Y/N from the Weathervane, i had a fun time, hope to see you soon đ
Xavier smiled down at his phone, he replied with âHope to see you soon, loved spending time with youâ and he continued playing music. There was something about her that seemed so cute, like she wouldnât hurt anyone. He continued painting until he could barely keep his eyes open.
The next day, Y/N arrived at Nevermore with her suitcase as a tall woman with white hair walked towards her and her parents.
âGood morning, you must be Y/N L/N, welcome to Nevermore Academy, I am principal Larissa Weems. Weâll just wait a few more minutes until the Addams arrive, apparently you are not the only new student at Nevermore this semester, Y/N.â Principal Weems said. When H/N was going to say something to her parents, another car pulled up besides theirs. âMorticia, GĂłmez, Itâs good to see you guys again, this must be Wednesday. Well Wednesday, Y/N is also a new student here so hopefully you two will get along.â
âI find that to be hard to believe.â Wednesday replied to Weems. âLo mismo digo, tienes mala vibra (I could say the same, you give off bad vibes).â Y/N muttered. Wednesday turned to look at Y/N. âMala vibra, no, pero energĂa oscura sĂ (i donât have bad vibes, but I do have a dark energy).â Wednesday replied and Y/N looked shocked. âInterestingâŚat least Iâm not the only Latina here.â Y/N commented. âI guess that is the silver lining here.â Wednesday said. âAlright, letâs get moving, shall we.â Weems said.
Y/N and Wednesday walked side by side while their parents were talking to each other. They made it to Principalâs Weems office, she talked to the parents about their grades and whatnot, Y/N was not paying attention at all. âIâll show you to your dorms. Both of you will be staying in Ophelia hall, Y/N will be rooming with Yoko Tanaka and Wednesday will be rooming with Enid Sinclair.â Weems said, you first arrived to Yokoâs dorm. âYoko, show Y/N around, I have to escort Wednesday to her dorm.â Weems said, leaving with the Addams family.
âEl cuarto se ve muy lindo, se ve que lo puedes decorar como quieras (the room looks really nice, looks like you can decorate it however you want).â Y/Nâs mom commented. âThe dorm looks cool. So Yoko, howâs the rest of the school?â Y/N asked. âItâs pretty chill actually. I can show you around now.â Yoko said. âOkay, mami, papi, me voy, los quiero mucho.â Y/N said leaving her parents. âNos quedamos en el carro en caso que necesitas algo (weâll stay in the car in case you need anything), okayâ Y/Nâs dad said. Both him and her mom left. âAlright, letâs start the tour.â
They were walking down the staircase when Y/N spotted a very similar brunette white boy. âXavier!â Y/N called out, the buy turned around and saw Y/N, the girl that he dreamt about last night, but it canât be. âY/N?â Xavier said. âI guess Iâll leave you guys to it, have fun.â Yoko said and left the two. âY/N, i didnât know you were going to start Nevermore.â Xavier said, walking up to her to hug her.
âUm yeah, I didnât know you were a student here either. SoâŚI wasnât actually expelled for a fight, my power is that I can make plants grow and control them so I actually grew vines in the classroom using one of the potted plants my teacher had and basically tied the girl up and strangled her with those vines.â Y/N said. Xavier laughed âSo youâre kinda like a badass version of Demeter.â Xavier said. âI guess so, so what about you, flaquito, why were you really suspended?â Y/N asked.
âMy best friend Ajax, who is a gorgon, was getting teased by some normie, you know, a person with zero powers, so my power is that I can bring anything I draw to life. I painted a mural with ravens, I brought those ravens to life, and those ravens attacked the normie.â Xavier said. âWow, thatâs a really cool power! Itâs nice that you defended your friend like that.â Y/N commented. âThanks, so can I give you the tour of the school? Maybe after we could hand out some more.â Xavier said. âI would love that.â Y/N replied.

Interview with Till about his life: he fought with his father, killed his beloved dog, swam on a wild river and worked on suffering. How Till Lindemann's mind works
"I will finish you off" and why you fought for the German army.
Werner Lindemann wanders around the room, interrupting the silence with strange questions, writing something down. His motive is to get to know his son and make him a friend. But it's complicated. Generational conflict.
"My island of tranquility is shaken every day. The day before yesterday, a guy pulled on my socks because his were torn. Yesterday he didn't put out a single lamp in the house. Now, with voluptuous delight, he spits cherry pits into the cat's fur. Is this grown boy really an adult?"
The apprenticeship in Rostock, where you have to do window production after graduation, is the limit of boredom. Till Lindemann moved to his father in the countryside so that he could forget about the hustle and bustle of the city and not fall under the article for anti-social attitudes. He thought of a new life, in which there was no pointless work, and arranged an attic in his father's house.
In the mornings over coffee, he scolded life that everything went according to schedule. And listened very loudly to music - electronics and metal. My father didn't understand and grumbled: âI matured late. Naturally, I wanted to listen to the music I liked, but I could not get my hands on these records. For example, my father did not understand when I bought the Alice Cooper record for a month's salary.
Werner Lindemann was a children's writer who went through the war.
At the height of his career he disappeared for weeks on literary tours - his fame spread to teachers and librarians across the country. His father pecked at Lindemann for refusing to work and promised to turn him in:
"My willful child. What doesn't fit his standards is rejected as nonsense or crap." So he took a job as a carpenter, where he made shovel cuttings and cart wheels. The head foreman constantly drank vodka during the day, didn't want to be annoyed with questions and addressed the long-haired Lindemann with the nickname: "Mozart!" This suited him.
Werner Lindemann talked about war, hard existence and limitations. For example, about a grenade splinter that remained in his body. Lindemann did not believe in all these stories - but categorically did not accept service, war and murder:
âAfter that I objected: âI would hide, I would not go to war. Why did you even let yourself be dragged into this? You could have hidden."
And he said: âIt didn't work out. They searched for it and it took away."
Then I said: âI would rather go under arrest. Never in my life, I would go to the front line to shoot people. It's against my nature. It would be better if I went to jail."
Much of the time father and son were simply silent, even while watching television.
"He regularly made me feel guilty, to say the least, he placed himself on a pedestal towards me: I shouldn't complain. At your age, I ran barefoot through the stubble, and in my stomach - a potato in a uniform."
The only acceptance is Mike Oldfield's music: "One day my father came to grumble again. At that moment I was listening to Mike Oldfield, and he sat down and said: "That sounds interesting."
For me it was like a quantum leap: my father sits in my room, listens to my music and thinks it was good. Probably because of melancholy. He was sitting in a rocking chair that I made myself - at the time I was working as a carpenter on a farm. I, too, always sat in an armchair, immersed myself in music and smoked hand-rolled cigarettes."
The conflict was intensified by a fight. Lindemann bought a Trabant car, installed speakers in it and tested the sound - loud as usual. âThen my father came and I had to turn off this fucking music. It was kind of loud for him. He was then fiddling around his cases of flowers, and then suddenly the situation escalated. I think he slapped me while I was still in the car.
He leaned toward me and hit me with the back of his hand. I made some bullshit remarks like, "Leave me alone," something like that. That was a provocation to him, and he said: "If you do that again, I'll hit you for real." And I said, "Then you'll get it back. Because you're crazy. Don't you dare to hit me anymore."
And then he hit me with his palm again. He wasn't controlling himself.
He was exalting himself. Instantly he introduced himself as a boxer - he had boxed in the Hitler Youth - and I just... I thought I didn't hit him, I just pushed him away. And then he stood in front of me again, "Come on, I'll finish you, you haven't got a chance!" Somehow. After that, he went up to the attic and threw all my stuff out the window.
It happened over the weekend, my sister was there, a lot of screaming, serious drama. Then I packed my things, put them in the car, went to a friend's house and never went into his house again. At first I lived with this friend, and a week later I bought myself a house in the village."
His father's book is about his son, which the son will only open up after the death of the father.
Lindemann is a late child. He was born when his father was 36. The gap in their relationship was felt in everyday life and perception of the world. Werner Lindemann woke up early in the morning, worked with the circular saw under the windows and did not understand when his son slept until noon after a working week.
Lindemann's parents then lived separately, but kept in touch. Mom worked as a journalist and discussed her texts with his father. "She still lived in Rostock and always came to see him only on weekends. Mostly on Sundays she came back quite early, because she couldn't stand the stress of being with him, either."
In 1988, the book âMike Oldfield im Schaukelstuhl Notizen eines Vaters" In this book, Lindemann Senior describes the relationship with his son (whom he calls Timm in the book), who settled with him at the age of 18. The book was written in the 80s and laid on the table until the German Democratic Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany were reunited.
Werner Lindemann wanted his son to take up writing too. But this only amused him, although as a child he wrote poetry. At the age of 13, little Till Lindemann and his father were returning home along the bumpy road to Mecklenburg. They talked about career self-determination:
"You should already have thoughts about what you want to become, boy." My answer: "I don't know yet, maybe a fisherman on the high seas."
But immediately, no matter what I said, objections arose: âBut then you have to get a certificate of maturity. But then you will be away all the time. But then you won't be able to start a relationship."
There was always a âbutâ.
At some point it got on my nerves, as usual. And I said: "Worst case scenario, I'll just become a writer.
I still remember how alienated his face became. "And what do you think then, what do I do! It's a very hard job! In fact, it's not even a job, it's a passion. And it's a job that's supposed to be enjoyable."
I said, "I don't know anybody who works with pleasure."
"Yeah, that's the problem. You have to look for a job that gives you pleasure." Then I say again, "But some people never get to choose..." This gigantic discussion happened because I didn't take his profession seriously. At the same time, he was completely lost, funny!"
Lindemann thoughtfully read his father's book, in which he comprehends their relationship, after his death. Faked for hidden anger and indecision. For example, in a situation where their dog Kurt was bitten by a fox. The father was frightened because of rabies: âAt the same time, we did not even know whether he was bitten by a fox or not. The father immediately called the huntsman. But I said: no one will enter this courtyard and shoot the dog. I'll do it myself if I really need it. At some point I really had to kill the dog."
Lindemann is not a monster. The animals he fiddled with are an important attribute of childhood. He had an aquarium and hamsters, brought mice and rats home, and was friends with dogs. âLike many children of new buildings, he felt the need for someone alive, in need of love,â said Werner Lindemann. Sometimes the appearance of an animal in the house was surprising:
âThis guy will never say what he's up to. He appears on the doorstep at the same time as me. He gets out from his vehicle, throws his coat open and puts a young black shepherd in my hands. "Your Christmas present!"
Till's father is speechless. My son stands before me like the sun's little brother. Touchingly concerned, he directs me into the house, working out a plan for the animal husbandry, accommodation and diet of our new pet housemate.
With confusion, a question flies from my lips, "Wheredid you get the dog from?" "Timm" is gibbering, "Imagine, the mason in the barnyard wanted to hang him, simply wanted to strangle him with a rope, said he was a worthless eater..."
Werner Lindemann died of stomach cancer in 1993, when his son was 30. They didn't finally reconcile, but Till visited him in his last days and was there for him with his mother: "They couldn't be without each other, even though they lived apart. Unreal, but my mother never had another man afterwards. To this day she can't let go of him."
- Not going to the Olympics in Moscow and ending up in the German ghetto
Lindemann had the knowledge and the potential to be a swimmer. And a shyness that pounded harder three days before the competition than concerts in front of crowds of thousands. "I know how difficult it is to develop willpower and stamina and instill those attributes. In the GDR this was instilled in us by coaches and so-called functionaries."
Lindemann came to swimming at the age of eight and devoted his entire youth to the sport. He would get up for training at five in the morning and pass out in the evening. His grandmother watched him from the stands. At a competition in Leipzig she shouted at the coach, who told Lindemann off for a poor result. The grandmother took the coach by the ear and said: "How do you talk to my grandson?"
Sports tightened up his upbringing and developed self-discipline. âDrilling - probably the boy has already received this experience as a swimmer,â Lindemann's father wrote. - Once he had to take second place in a competition, but by no means first place. Of course, he got carried away, forgot about it, became the first, thanks to which he received a shouting for indiscipline. And whenever he lost in the future, his coach would torture him at practice for a long time and yelled at him: "Even if you win, you're not a winner yet!"
Lindemann swam the 1.5 km freestyle and could have gone to the 1980 Olympics in Moscow. Everything was ruined when he left the hotel without permission during a competition in Florence: "I didn't want to run, but just wanted to look at the city. Cars, bikes, girls. I was caught and kicked out of the team, but then I didn't give the required results either."
Lindemann competed at the European Junior Championships, but did not go any higher. After the story in Florence, his career in sport slipped away. Perhaps an abdominal injury influenced his departure. Lindemann is gone, but he doesn't yearn: "I was relatively young. There were no good [memories] left. I was glad it was over."
"The hardest part was getting back to normal. I fell into a real hole. My home was no longer a sports school, but a ghetto in Rostock. Now I stood out through drinking and fighting. I used to be surrounded only by beautiful ladies who were interested in swimming. Now I had fierce women standing in front of me asking, "How come you don't drink?" When I was shy about approaching a girl, it was interpreted as: "Are you gay?"
Lindemann now works with a coach and swims a few kilometers before his tours to get in shape: "When I exercise, I feel a certain lightness - not only physically, but also mentally. I just feel better. The main problem is staying in shape. That's where self-discipline comes into play. Teeth grinding is important."
- Three weeks in the wild and loneliness as a creative tool
Emotionally, concerts = sports:
"How do I go on tour? Hungry. And happy. It is good to compare concerts with sport. You don't want to do both at first. You don't want to go on stage. You don't want to go to the pool. You don't want to go to the boxing ring. It all happens with reluctance. It has to be accepted somehow, that's life: spring, summer, fall, winter.
When it's done, winter's gone, the blooming begins, greenery appears, it gets bright, and you start to get a taste for it. When it's over, you feel happy. Then the body produces a sea of chemistry, a lot of happiness hormones. I think the body rewards itself."
The stage, like sports, is an embarrassment, but a necessity. Lindemann wore dark glasses in order to collect fewer views from the audience. Therefore, a couple of steps before the water, he looked at the pool with a shiver. You need to cope with yourself in order to open up to new emotions.
Lindemann's gut requires solitude and moderate solitude. This is the point:
âLoneliness is always good for a creative push - you drink a glass of wine and you feel even shitier. Art is not complete without suffering; art exists to compensate for suffering."
With his friend Joey Kelly, Lindemann spent three weeks on the Yukon River. They paddled through the wilderness in a kayak for eight to 10 hours each and lived in a tent. Lindemann didn't take a tape recorder with him, so he transferred the lyrics wandering in his head on paper.
They were catching inspiration and atmosphere:
"There were times when we wouldn't say a word for hours, but then: look there, look there! It was breathtakingly beautiful. These relatively fast-changing panoramas and skies, layers of clouds, the colors.
Except for a few bears and wolves, it's hard to see anyone else out there, it's exhilarating. Along the way we saw two hunters setting traps. No one else.
I grew up in the countryside, and I have a very strong connection to nature. I love fishing, hunting. It's an archaic experience that I like to revisit over and over again. When I'm in the city for too long, I start to miss it."
To recreate situations in the Yukon, Lindemann and Kelly trained for nine months on the Rhine river in Germany because of its liveliness.
"We went down the Rhine to where the transport ships create huge bow waves. If we hadn't had a coach with us, we probably would have been sunk by the side wave impact already during our first attempt," Lindemann said.
Together with Kelly, he had four sessions with two coaches and swam from Cologne to Koblenz [more than 100 kilometers by car]. Lindemann trained separately each week on the lakes in Mecklenburg. It's both physically challenging and savage identical to being natural.
In 2015, Till started his solo project Lindemann. On the album Skills In Pills, the song Yukon was released, in which the lyrics appeared first, and then the music.
- "My lyrics come from pain rather than desire."
The country boy is big and not much of a talker. That's how the Rammstein members saw him at the start, when they were hanging out at home. "He looked cool, like a big peasant talking one sentence an hour," keyboard player Christian "Flake" Lorenz recalled. - He always had food and vodka. He'd just steal a couple of ducks somewhere and cook them on a tray. And then, frozen like in Sleeping Beauty, there were people lying in corners and on trunks in his house."
Lindemann loves and appreciates home gatherings. This came from my father, who always had guests. âIn my opinion, this is the little bit that I inherited from him. Throwing parties and gathering people. Throwing parties and getting people together. He just enjoyed being a good host. The house was always full of guests from Leipzig, from Rostock, foreign guests, even from Kazakhstan.
It was always exciting for him. He stood at the stove, cooked, bought an abundance of wine, and there was always a fire in the garden. At some point he stopped drinking, then he left the party at 21:00 and the whole company continued to feast. And in the morning he got up at four, cleaned and tidied up."
Till Lindemann is about self-digging, overcoming and childish shyness, which is covered by a pumped-up figure of a swimmer. This is how Lindemann decrypts himself:
⢠âAnd I really am like a big child - ill-mannered, but harmless. People think that I am always strong, explosive. This is not true. I am sensitive and easily hurt, but in love I am romantic and passionate."
⢠âAt the very beginning, you sit somewhere in a dark room, open a bottle of wine and figure out how to make the lyrics popular with the music. At first you only have a vague idea of ââwhat it could be.
And when, three years after recording, mixing, and more mixing, developing the artwork, all this nonsense, then you stand on stage, and what you came up with then really works, when you manage to get 20 thousand people to raise their hands, then you experience incredible sensations."
⢠âArt is a kind of therapy.
When I feel that something is arising inside me, domineering and is most often dark, I need to give it a way out, otherwise it will simply crush me. So destruction and self-destruction are the two pillars on which my creativity is based.
But everyone chooses this for himself.
⢠âMy lyrics arise from feelings and dreams, but still more from pain than by desire. I often have nightmares, and I wake up at night sweating, as I see terrible bloody scenes in my dreams. My lyrics are a kind of valve for the lava of feelings in my soul.
We are all struggling to hide behind good manners and outward decency, but in fact we are governed by instincts and feelings: hunger, thirst, horror, hatred, the desire for power and sex. Of course, there is also additional energy in us - this is love. Without it, all human feelings would fade away."
- "When you're constantly living someone else's life, it's very hard to get back into your own skin. I like that in principle, but sometimes you start to get confused - are you out of a role or not yet. You're already Till, or you're still a homicidal maniac."
- "I hate the noise. I hate the chatter. I expose myself to it, which is pure masochism. And then I have to protect myself from it. Noise makes you crazy. You die in it."
⢠âI think there is no God. And if he is and actually allows all the misfortunes on this earth, then he must punish me along with other sufferings. I will not pray to such a god."
This is how the members of Rammstein see Till - flexible and with a split personality:
Guitarist Paul Landers: "Till is so good that when you let him know that his lyrics should go in a different direction, the very next day he brings a new version of the song."
Guitarist Richard Kruspe: âHe's a hell of an extreme man. He dives very deeply into situations where I cannot follow him. Everything he does is very extreme; I don't know anyone who does it. "
Drummer Christoph Schneider: "I would not want to be in Till's shoes: his soul is tormented by doubts and contradictions, he is equally a moralist and a monster."

Sol i need headcanons for the brothers, please im begging you
BRUH I GOT YOU
Iâm currently working on some little fics for them BUT I CAN GIVE YOU SOME DETAILS BECAUSE IâM DYING TO SHARE
(Warning, gets a little dark towards the middle, but overall fine. Sorry for the long read. I went for a DEEP dive on the Age Gap Au)
Ace was put into foster care 4 hours after his birth. His father died before he was born and his mother died during childbirth. Ace had nothing to his name but physical traits of the dead (Like his father's sharp eyes and his motherâs freckles) He grew up with a need to prove himself and to gain something that truly belonged to him all on his own.
Sabo was placed in foster care when he was 5 because of an altercation with his abusive and possesive parents, involving him having broken ribs and running away.
Ace and Sabo met in a halfway home for troubled youths when they were 6. (They both had issues with authority and past placements in foster homes, so they quickly bonded over that, and decided to stick together ever since)
Their bond was so strong that âhonoraryâ brothers didnât really fit them. They were brothers. And they stuck together and stood up for one another like it was them against the world (which sometimes it was)
They would often run away from the halfway home they were at, trying to earn a living on their own on the streets, and often commit petty thefts in order to survive.Â
These little runaway trips wouldnât last long though, because they were always caught by Officer Garp, a police officer that happened to have a knack for catching little runaways.
However tough Garp acted though, he had an incredibly big soft spot for these two little brats that were only trying to make their lives better. These two kids, barely 8 years old, who had so much hatred for the world because of adults in their lives that failed them. Adults that hurt them, giving them scars and bruises on their hearts just as easily as the scars and bruises on the little frames.Â
After a particular runaway incident, Ace breaks down and confesses about all the horrible placements he and Sabo had been in before. How social services always judge Aceâs sharp eyes and label in a problem child, how Saboâs quick wit always get him in trouble with the adults, how they both have scars and bruises from past foster homes they were placed in, and that's why Ace and Sabo runaway. Theyâre tired of getting placed in bad homes. Theyâre tired of having adults try to separate them. Ace is all Sabo has and vice versa because that's the only person in the whole world who they trust to not hurt them. And Garp thinks thatâs the last fucking straw.
Garp, much to Ace and Saboâs but nobody elseâs surprise, adopts both the boys, and takes them into his own home. Because dammit, if theyâre just gonna runaway, they might as well stay with someone who will at least love them enough to always look for them and bring them back to a good home when they do.
And itâs weird at first, because Garp is the rough and loud and nosey officer that used to grab them by the scruffs of their shirts and drag them back to that awful halfway home kicking and screaming. But then it gets better. Because he still yells at them, but itâs with a tempered and fiercely protective love it when he does. He still grabs them, but itâs just to pull them into a rough bear hug that they fervently pretend they donât like. And every dinner is spent with tears of laughter in their eyes and cheeks warm with delight at the stories he tells them. (They call him old man with affection and heâs their father figure even though they treat him like their grandpa.)
Sabo joins his schoolâs baseball team! Which is so freaking cool! Heâs a really strong batter, can weild a bat like itâs an extension of his own arm, and Ace and Garp are always the loudest cheers on the bleachers every home run hit Sabo makes.
Garp makes Ace take up boxing, because the kidâs got a lot of pent-up rage and aggression, and he figures itâs a good constructive sort of therapy for the rowdy brat.
The two still get up to mischief every now and again, though. Nothing illegal, but Garp is still having to wrangle up his two little idiots before they do something stupid. (They get into a lot of fights with local gangs because they have smart mouths and are still a little reckless)
Garp has a biological son that Ace and Sabo never met due to Garpâs and Dragonâs strained relationship. Garp had always bad-mouthed him whenever his son was brought up, but it was always with words that had no heat behind them, and Sabo and Ace could tell there was a sadness behind his eyes whenever he looked at the picture of his son in his wallet.
The boys were 10 when they got the news of Dragonâs death a week after it happened. Garp had gotten the phone call when he and the boys were watching some late-night trash tv on the weekend, and he had all but strangled the phone in a grip that turned his knuckles white. He didnât say what had killed his son, (he never did), but he had told the boys he needed to take care of something, told them to pack up some of their things, dropped them off at his friend Newgateâs house, and got the quickest flight out that night.
He came back 3 days later, and when he did, he had a tiny little baby with him.
Ace and Sabo were no strangers to babies. There was always some snot-nosed kid that would get dropped off at the halfway home (and then adopted that week, because everybody loved babies), and they were pretty sure this baby wasnât gonna be any different. Because babies were loud and gross and never stopped crying, and Ace and Sabo were prepared for the absolute worse.
But then they stood over the babyâs crib to get a good look at him, and the baby looked back.
And smiled the biggest and happiest smile Ace and Sabo had ever seen.
And Garp had said âHis name is Luffy,â and Ace and Sabo had been hooked around his little finger ever since.Â
Luffy was barely 6 months old, and was a bundle of chubby cheeks and contagious giggles. With big brown chocolate colored eyes that melted all the sharp corners and edges of Aceâs and Saboâs hearts.
Because Sabo and Ace were the same age, and neither one of them felt like the older or younger brother. They were equals in every way. But it was different with Luffy. Because Luffy was tiny, and soft and could barely wrap all 5 of his little fingers around one of theirs, and it hit Sabo and Ace like a bullet train because oh.
Oh this is what it was like to be an older brother. This was what it was like to have a little brother. And Sabo and Ace have always looked out for each other, of course. But Luffy was something they had to protect fully and with their entire being. His smile, his laughter, his heart. All of it. Sabo and Ace knew all the horrible things in the world, knew all the hatred and fear and heartbreak the world could throw at you and it was like a silent promise to each other they never verbalized, that Luffy should and would never have to go through the things they went through. He would never feel unloved. He would never feel unwanted. He would never feel like he had to prove his worth or reason for existing. (He was worth more than any price anyone could give anyway)
Sabo and Ace stopped getting into trouble. They got good grades, excelled in their respective clubs, and didnât give Garp any reason to chase them down in his old cop car and bring them home. (They were always at home anyway, giving Luffy piggyback rides and teaching him how to ride a bike and do one-handed handstands and cartwheels, and basking in the warmth that was Luffyâs endless love) And they lived in peace like that for 5 years.
Then the fire happened.
Garp was a good police officer and an even better Deputy Chief, and for almost 40 years, he served on the Foosha County Police Department. He had put away a lot of bad guys and saved a lot of people in the process and was an honored and highly respected man. However, this also made him a big target and earned him quite a few enemies. He was 3 weeks away from retirement and spending most of those weeks staying at home, playing with Luffy, and ingnoring the last of his paperwork left on his office desk.
When the fire broke out, Ace and Sabo had just turned the corner from the bus stop on their way home from school. They had seen the smoke, but didnât know where it was coming from till they saw the towering blaze of fire that used to be their 2 story home and the group of neighbors surrounding the outside.Â
They managed to push their way to the front, hands shaking and eyes wide and absolutely breathless, because that was their house! That was their house that was one fire and where was gramps?! Where was Luffy?!
The only thing Ace heard Sabo whisper among the roar of the fire and the loud murmur of people around them was âDo you hear that? That... crying?â Before Sabo surged forward.
Ace didnât have time to reach out and stop him, and by the time he could, Sabo had already disappeared into the open front door, which was covered in flames. He had screamed out, tried to race in and follow his brother into the flames, but the neighbors around him were quicker than he was and pulled him back.Â
Edward Newgate, one of their neighbors and close personal friend of Garpâs was in the crowd, and he was holding Ace to his chest with an arm like an iron bar, as he was on the phone with the local fire department. (Newgate was also the Foosha County fire chief, and was shouting at his lieutenants to âget your asses out here now!â) But Ace didnât hear a word he was saying. All he could do was struggle to get out of the older manâs grip, reach out for his brother and best friend, and scream his lungs out.
What felt like hours went by, and Ace felt like his heart was shattering into a million piece, the glass shards falling around him, as he sobbed into Newgate's chest, thinking he had lost everything. His home. His family. His only purpose and reason for living.
And then some of the neighbors were shouting again, only this time in surprised alarm and Ace looked up with hazy eyes blurred by tears, to see something was coming out of the front door.
And it could only be Sabo. Ace knew it was him before he could even register it, and bolted out of Newgate's grips that had slacked at the surprise and towards his brother.
Ace met Sabo only a few feet from the door, Sabo collapsing into his arms, and Ace had to pull him the extra few feet away because the flames were still too much to bear even at that distance.
And Saboâs skin was hot and red and covered in smoke and ash alike. There was a giant welting red burn against the side of Saboâs face that looked like it would leave a scar forever, but Ace was having a hard time focusing on it because he was too bust focusing on the bundle of blankets that Sabo was desperately trying to push into Aceâs arms.
And Ace was already crying before, but he began crying even harder when he removed the fold of blankets to reveal a muffled Luffy, covered in ash but unharmed, crying his eyes out.Â
Sabo had a coughing fit that rocked his whole body, and burns that looked like they'd hurt forever, but he was smiling when Ace broke into a sob, clutching both Sabo and Luffy into his chest.
The firefighters and paramedics came a few minutes later, and they had to physically pull Sabo and Luffy from Aceâs arms to check and treat them. Luffy only ended up with a few mild burns and cuts on his arms and legs and some burning of his throat from inhaling so much smoke, but Sabo had to be taken to the hospital immediately for his burns, especially for the one on his face. Ace pleaded to let them all ride in the same ambulence on the way to the hosipital, and held on to Saboâs shirt sleeve with a grip that would take the end of the world and then some for him to let go.
Sabo had to get some surgery and treatment to save his left eye, but he was all in all ok, and Ace and Luffy were allowed to visit his hospital room for as long as they needed.
When Ace finally confronted Sabo on why he had ran into the house in the first place, it was on the first night of their hospital stay. Sabo had a giant white gauze wrapping half of his head, and he looked at Ace with tired blue eyes that looked a little fuzy, still a little drugged from all the medication he was on to ease the pain.Â
And Ace felt bad about it, he really did, because Sabo didnât derserve to be grilled on the matter. Not after he had sacrificed himself and saved Luffy. Their little brother. Their little brother who they wouldnât even have anymore if it werenât for Sabo.Â
But Ace had to know. He was so mad and heartbroken and scared out of his mind when Sabo had rushed in without word or warning. Because they had lost Garp. They had almost lost Luffy. And Ace could have almost lost Sabo too.
But Luffy was tucked underneath Saboâs arm on the hospital bed, and Sabo just smiled at Ace with a patience that only Ace and Luffy could pull out of him, and patted the other side for Ace to join them. Ace climbed onto the bed beside him, and even with the two 15-year-olds and one little 5 year old, the bed didnât feel too small at all.
Sabo explained that he could hear crying from the door and he just moved. Knowing it was Luffy before his mind could really think about the implications behind that. He confessed how the flames hurt at first. Hurt so bad, and it was so hot, and everything, from the floor to the ceiling, was on fire and he could barely see anything through the smoke. But he could hear Luffyâs little rough and horse scream, coming from one of the back rooms that used to be Garp's office, and suddenly all Sabo could afford to think about was Luffyâs crying.
Sabo would tell a watered-down version of this story to the cops in the morning, because they were Garp's friend and companions, and they only really needed the broad details for their report anyway.Â
Heâll tell a heroic version of this story, lacking any horrific graphics, to an older Luffy whenever the eternally curious kid wonders and asks about it.
But he only ever told the whole story right then on that night, one arm tight around his baby brother in a toothed and protective love, while the other one gripped his best friend's hands with shaking and bandaged fingers hard enough to leave bruising.
Garp was long dead when Sabo found him. The smell of his skin burning off is something that will haunt Sabo for the rest of his life. (Sometimes certain smells will set him off. Uncooked bacon is not allowed in the house anymore after one traumatic morning when Luffy is six. Campfires are viewed and enjoyed from a distance.)
He was lying on his stomach, clutching something to his chest. Sabo knew it was Luffy by the cries, bundled up in a few quilts and one of this office rugs, and Sabo knew he had to get them out of there before the smoke killed them off like it had a personal agenda against them.
The heat was unbearable, Sabo had confessed, but it was nothing compared to having to drag Luffy from underneath Garpâs grip. The old man was built like a brick house, sure, but even in death, his grip on Luffy, protecting Luffy, like he was daring the world to take anything away from him, was steadfast and almost unbbreakable.Â
It was the hardest thing Sabo had ever had to make himself do.
He didnât look at Garpâs face. His body was burned black and bloody and raw, and Sabo couldnât live with himself if his memory of Garpâs face was replaced by anything other than with the one of his scruffy beard and the shit-eating grin that he always wore.
When he pulled Luffy out, he didnât look back, and raced out of the house as fast as he could. Something along the way fell and smacked him in the face, knocking him down at one point, but Sabo couldnât pay it much mind. He got back up, and continued towards the door. He could barely see, barely breathe, with all the smoke and the ash, and the pain from the fire was almost numbing against his skin, but he didnât stop.
All he could think about was Luffy, still struggling and crying against the blankets wrapped tightly around him. Next thing he knew, he was outside, and looking up at Aceâs snot-covered face.
Ace had never seen Sabo cry for the almost 10 years he knew him. He didnât cry when he was 7, and the Anderson family had called him a freak and had sent him back after a failed foster home placement. He didnât cry when he was 9, and broke his arm falling out of the tree in their backyard that Garp had told him not to climb, so of course he had to climb it. And he didnât even cry earlier that day, at 15, when he was off medication and feeling the full extent of his painful burns.
So when tears started pooling out of Saboâs pale blue eyes, falling down his cheeks and staining the cotton white blanket he was under as he told his story, Ace pretended not to notice, wrapped an arm around Saboâs shoulders, and held him like it was the only lifeline in the world.Â
Garpâs funeral was held the following week. Closed casket. All the police departments in the county, and even some outside of it, showed up to give him a full send-off. Ace cried for both Sabo and himself. Sabo spoke a few words for the both of them. And Luffy stood between them, holding both their hands. They explained the night before that gramps was gone, but they donât think the notion of death really got through to Luffy. He was crying, but only because Ace was crying, and when he asked âcan gramps come out of the box to give me a hug before he goes away?â everyone has to clench their teeth and hold their breaths to stop their hearts from breaking. Sabo kneeled down to wrap Luffy in a tight hug. Ace covered his face with his arm and cried harder
(They never bother asking Luffy about how the fire started, or what happened that day. Luffy doesnât remember, and they donât push it further. The truth isnât as important as Luffyâs mentality is, but Garpâs old squad promises that they wonât rest until they get to the bottom of it. And as much as Ace and Sabo want justice and revenge, they have Luffy to think about, so they leave it up to the police)
Sabo and Ace are almost 16, and they suddenly have no parental figure, no home, no anything, and suddenly theyâre faced with the horrible notion that even more can be taken from them when a blast from their past threatens to take Luffy away from them too.
Theyâre no stranger to the foster care system, so when social services show up at the motel they were renting with Garpâs savings, they feel their hearts drop to their stomach for fear of the very real possibility that Luffy will be placed in immediate foster care, and possibly, so would they.Â
Ace and Sabo jump into action then, because no way, no fucking way, were they gonna lose Luffy. They had lost everything else. They almost did lose Luffy. They werenât gonna risk that chance again.
Ace was only a few weeks older than Sabo. Sabo hadnât paused a second to jump into the fire, risking life and limb, to protect what little they had. It was Aceâs turn to be the heroic older brother. And on the day he turned 16, Ace petitioned legal guardianship and parental rights for Sabo and Luffy.
And it was hard, because of course the courts felt sorry for him, the grandson of one of the best police chiefs in the countyâs history, begging the courts to let him keep what little family he had left together. The courts wanted to give it to him, wanted to help him. But Luffy was a child. And Ace and Sabo were practically still kids themselves. Asking kids to raise themselves was something no one should ask them to do.Â
But Ace and Sabo fought for it. Ace was 16, and Sabo would be 16 soon enough. They could get GEDâs, no problem. Theyâd get jobs, get a little apartment near Luffyâs school, attend any parenting and child service meeting required of them. Theyâd buy all the necessities over again and theyâd love Luffy where no other foster family could even compare. Theyâd do everything, everything and anything, to keep Luffy. To let them stay together.
With a couple of vouchers from Garpâs old police squad, including one from an overly enthusiastic Edward Newgate and one from the boyâs homeroom teacher, Makino, the courts ruled in Aceâs and Saboâs favor, and Luffy was officially theirs until they proved that Luffy was better off somewhere else.
Ace and Sabo were never gonna let that happen.
They got a little 2 bedroom apartment a couple blocks from Luffyâs elementary. They quit school, and worked extra hard to earn their GEDâs within the following months. (With the help of their old teachers and a few of their overly enthusiastic neighbors)
Ace got a job at the local fire department, as a rookie in training under Newgate.
Sabo got a job at the local news station, writing reports on top of his interning duties.Â
Ace eventually got a motorcycle that same year, which scared Sabo half to death and delighted Luffy to no end. It was cheaper than a car, and easier to travel to and from work on, and no matter how hard Sabo tried, he couldnât come up with a valid reason why Ace shouldnât use it to their advantage. So Sabo made Ace promise to always wear a helmet when riding it, and that Luffy wasnât allowed to ride it until he was much older. (Which Luffy pouted about to no end)
And itâs hard at times, both of them working overtime just to make enough to support themselves and keep them afloat, but itâs good, and itâs theirs.
Luffy makes a friend on his first day of first grade named Zoro Roronoa, another kid that lives just across the street from them, and when Ace and Sabo know theyâre gonna be late in getting home, Luffy goes over there and hangs out until they can pick him up (Which is totally fine with Zoroâs father Koushirou, a kendo teacher and single father of 6-year-old Zoro and 9-year-old Kuina. Zoro has a bit of a personality problem and often has trouble making friends (because the child doesnât see a need to) so when little bright-eyed and endlessly joyful Luffy pops into their life, Kushirou jumps at the chance to have him over as much as possible, because the two small children seem to bring out the best in each other, and are best friends attached at the hip) Sabo and Ace are eternally grateful to the kind man)
A few years go by, and Luffy is 8. Ace is still working at the fire station and is now legally allowed to join them on calls and emergencies. (Fire used to make Ace nervous, because he almost lost everything to it. Now he has a personal agenda with it, to make sure it doesnât take anything from anyone else)
Sabo has moved up the ranks now, and when he turns 18, confronts Ace with a rare job opportunity he was offered.
âItâs a year-long internship for this really cool company that reports and delivers high-class diplomatic information around,â Sabo starts, rubbing the back of his head like he doesnât know what to do with his hands. âIâd be working as like, a cool undercover spy with diplomatic immunity and a messenger bag. Itâs not dangerous at all, and pays almost triple my paycheck now, which would really help us out. But itâs overseas, and Iâd be gone for a whole year. Youâd be raising Luffy all by yourself, birthdays and holidays and skinned knees, with just the two of you, so say the word, and Iâll totally turn this job down on the spot.â
And itâs scary to Ace. Because he hasnât been alone since he was 6 years old, and he canât possibly remember a time when Sabo hadnât been by his side. His best friend and brother. It was always the two of them. Two little runaways that found a home, lost that home, and then built a new home all on their own despite it all. And neither of them had ever been away from Luffy for longer than a weekend, so Ace was sure it would kill Sabo to be away from them for so long.
But he also knew that Sabo was only playing this off like it wasnât a big deal, when in fact it was the job opportunity of a lifetime for someone like Sabo, a kid who breathed adventure and freedom with every breath. And that when he talked about it, his eyes sparkled with a joy that Ace would hate himself forever for taking it away.Â
Sabo was giving Ace the choice, and Ace knew that Sabo would go along with whatever Ace decided without a second thought or complaint. But Ace knew that Sabo would regret it for the rest of his life if he didn't go, so he slugged Sabo in the arm, gave him his best shit-eating, confident grin, (the kind he used to give him right before they were about to steal some food as kids, or about to get into a fight when they were teens) and said, âYou let me have a motorcycle. The least I can do is let you go road tripping abroad.â
Because Ace and Luffy would be fine. Theyâd miss Sabo like crazy, and Ace was pretty sure Sabo was like, 90% of his impulse control, but theyâd survive. Sabo had the burn marks to prove how far he was willing to go for their family, and Ace had never thanked him for that. Ace was never gonna live that down, and was going to spend the rest of his life making it up to both Sabo AND Luffy, and prove just how good of an older brother he could be. This was the least he could do for them.
#my work#one piece#monkey d. luffy#Portgas D. Ace#sabo#asl brothers#age gap au#oh ho look at me#my fics all start after this moment when sabo is overseas#so this is just context for that.#enjoy please and sorry in advance#i've thought too much about this au#it lives rent free in my head always

*gif isn't mine* (ugh hes so fine im dying)
I sat up straight and gasped, my eyes flying right open. I looked around frantically, sharp pain shooting right through my chest.Â
âOw,â I whined, pressing my hand gently to my side.Â
âOh, yeah. The first time you die here, itâll hurt. I bet itâs not any different from what that ring does for you, though,â Kaiâs voice ringed next to me.Â
My head snapped to him, memories of what he did to me flooding back.Â
âGet away from me!â I shouted, getting up out of the bed I was in.Â
âI did you a favour, Y/n. You should thank me!â He exclaimed.Â
âWhat favour! You robbed me of my only chance of getting home. Now we have no magic and the ascendent is broken!âÂ
âStop shouting. Ugh, youâre giving me a headache,â he whined.Â
I gave him a death glare. âYouâre the one with the headache. Youâre the one- I just⌠Iâm going for a walk.â
I stomped out of the room, running down the stairs. I heard Kaiâs footsteps from behind me. I walked as fast as I could without feeling any pain. Kai seemed to be full on sprinting, though, because he grabbed my wrist.Â
âLet me go!â I exclaimed. âPlease, Y/n. Iâm sorry,â Kai pleaded.
I jerked my body away from him. âShove it, Malachai. If you want me to forgive you, then you better leave me alone right now.â
He looked at me with wide, fearful eyes. I didnât wait for him to say anything. I turned on my heel and made my way out of the house and back to the woods. I stomped the whole way there, my hands balled in tight fists. My fingernails dug into my skin as tears stained my cheeks. I just could not believe Kai. I knew he was a sociopath and a dick, but I didnât think he would try to rob me of my chance at happiness. It was stupid how I thought he would even think about someone else and not himself. Sometimes he made it seem like he did care, though. It also seemed as my attraction to him from the first time we met was still there. I needed to get rid of it. I needed to find a way to get out here. Without Kai.Â
I stopped walking as I realised I was deep in the woods. The cool breeze flew around me, calming me down. I closed my eyes and breathed out the air that I had been holding in. I opened my eyes to stare at the sky. It was a cloudless afternoon with bright sunshine. It was always like this. For the past few months this was all I had seen. I was more than sick of it. I wanted rain. Snow. Hail. Anything else but the sunshine for once.Â
I released my hands from their fists, reaching my right hand up to my side where Bonnieâs jacket still was. I let out a strangled, but happy sound. I unwrapped it from my body, seeing that it had a huge red blood spot that was mine. I ignored it and held it up to my face, hugging it closely to my chest.Â
âIâm getting out of here. Iâm going home,â I promised to myself.Â
I stayed in the woods until the sun started to set. I spent my time walking around some more, making up a plan. I knew how the ascendent looked before it was broken, and I was sure that Bonnieâs grimoire, that was thankfully still here, had a diagram of some sort, too. I could just build it back up. I took a shop class in high school and used to build cars with my dad, so I was quite the mechanic. Getting it to work without magic was the hard part, though. I needed a Bennett witch to access the spell. I knew Kai still had some of Bonnieâs magic in him, but I couldnât risk telling him the plan and having it work, only for him to leave me here again. Plus, itâs not like having him use Bonnieâs magic would actually work. He wasn't actually a Bennett. He just happened to have her magic in him.Â
I opened the door and stepped into the Salvatore house, looking around for Kai. I smiled, relieved that IÂ couldnât spot him anywhere. I shut the door behind me, kicking off my shoes and going to the liquor cabinet, popping off the top of a bottle of whiskey. I didnât bother with a cup, I just downed it straight. The liquor burned my throat as I strutted to the kitchen, going over to the CD player and putting on Toni Braxtonâs âAnother Sad Love Songâ. Â
I danced around and got out the ingredients for a strawberry cake. As Toniâs song came to an end, I heard the front door open. I groaned loudly, my mood dropping immediately. I left the kitchen to see what Kai was up to. I laughed incredulously as I saw him carrying multiple duffle bags and a backpack.Â
âAre you seriously moving in?â I asked.Â
âYep,â he nodded. âWhat part of âleave me aloneâ do you not understand? Do I need to spell it out for you so it can get through your thick skull?â I snapped, taking ahold of his arm and dragging him back to the front door.Â
âI understand!â He exclaimed. âGood. Then youâll get out,â I sneered, pushing him out the door. I went to shut it, but his arm held the door open.
âI will smash your hand in this door,â I threatened.
âYeah, I know, but hear me out. I can help you get back,â Kai said.Â
I scoffed, âI donât want nor need your help. Get out.â I pushed the door further in his face. He dropped his bags and used both hands to keep it open.Â
âI know you donât trust me and you have no reason to, but please. I still have Bonnieâs magic in me and I can fix the ascendent with her magic,â he begged. He pouted and put on his puppy dog face.
âNo,â I said without any hesitation. âYou get out of my life, okay? If I ever see you, hear you, or even smell you, youâre dead, okay?â
His eyes then filled with anger and frustration. âFine!â He exclaimed. âYou know, I only even wanted to help you because I want to get out of here. We both know that I would have only left you here alone.â
âGlad weâre on the same page, then,â I smiled sourly. âSee you never.â And with that, I slammed the door in his face.Â
I sighed deeply, smiling in satisfaction. I went back to the kitchen and resumed my cake making.Â
A few hours later and I was finishing the last pieces of cake, and watching Forrest Gump.
âLife is like a box of chocolates, huh,â I muttered. âFirst Iâm a regular girl with human friends and a family. And now Iâm a girl who who has no family, vampires, werewolves, and witches for friends, and who is stuck in a never-ending prison world!â
I rolled my head around the couch ledge, my eyes looking out the window. It was pitch black now. The stars were shining brightly, many of them twinkling.Â
âMom, Dad, Jenny, Andrew. Bonnie and Damon. If youâre out there, please help me. Send someone or something. I-I canât do this alone, and I definitely donât want Kaiâs help. Please help me,â I cried out. I hugged a couch pillow and Bonnieâs jacket.Â
I hope someone could hear me up there. Otherwise I was screwed.
ââââ
3 months later and I was still stuck in this hell-hole. Well, at least I think it had been 3 months. Ever since Kai kept me here, I had been counting the days. It had been approximately 90 days, give or take. I was beginning to think this was actually my own personal instead of Kaiâs.Â
Speaking of Kai, he actually had been pretty good of avoiding me. In these 90 days, I have only ran into him twice. Once was while I was going for a morning jog and the other was when I was venturing into town, walking to the Mystic Grill and all the shops. During my stay, I have also been documenting my days with an old video camera I found. I knew that I would get out, but just in case, I would be able to have all those memories saved and if I died somehow and never came back and someone else got trapped here, they could see the glamorous life of Y/n L/n. Or what was left of it at least.Â
Today was going to be different, though. For the past few months, I had been sitting in my bedroom for most of the week, crying, talking to myself, screaming at the world. I had even considered killing myself once or twice, but I knew that I would only wake up in more pain and sadness. Every day I prayed and hoped for someone to come and find me. For my friends to find out a way to get to me, even though they didnât have the ascendent or anything. It seems as more days past, the less and less hopeful I got, though. So, I decided that the only way I was getting out of here was to do it myself, regardless if I wasnât a magical being.Â
And so right now, I was trying to build the ascendent. I was almost there, actually. It was just these little parts that were so frustrating to put back together.Â
âGo together, dammit!â I exclaimed out of frustration.Â
I put the device down, running my hands over my face, thinking of a solution. Maybe I should ask Kai for help.Â
No. That would only end up with me screaming at him the whole time and potentially killing him.Â
But he probably still had some go Bonnieâs magic left. He could help me get out. And plus, I could just push him away last minute when we go through the portal.Â
I groaned out of annoyance. I didnât know what the right answer was. I thought I did. I thought I could do this by myself. But it turns out I canât. Itâs a lot harder than I thought and the fact that Iâm a human doesnât help either. I bit my lip in thought, racking my brain for an answer.Â
âYou have to ask him to help, Y/n. Itâs the only way,â I sighed to myself.Â
I got up from my seat and put on my shoes and jacket. I went out of the house and got into Damonâs Chevy, driving it to Kaiâs house. I clenched the steering wheel until my knuckles turned white as I parked in his driveway. Just the thought of seeing him made my stomach churn. Thing was, I didnât quite know if it churned in a good way or bad.Â
I stepped out of the car, putting the keys in my jacket pocket. I walked up to the door and gave it a good 3 knocks. A waited a few minutes, but no answer. I knocked a few more times and waited another few minutes. Still no answer.Â
âSeriously?!â I whined, raising my hand to pound on the door, but Kaiâs voice stopped me.Â
âWhat are you doing here?âÂ
I turned around and saw him carrying grocery bags.Â
âOh. Good, youâre here,â I said, stepping down from his porch.Â
âYou never answered my question. What are you doing here?â He asked.Â
âI need your help,â I confessed.Â
His lips upturned into a smile. He let out a laugh. âWow. Princess Y/n has gotten over her pride, huh?â
âAnd sociopathic Parker still harasses me with nicknames, huh?â
Kai frowned and walked up to the porch, passing by me and unlocking his house.Â
âSorry,â I sighed, following him into his house. âWill you please help me?â
âHm, let me think about it,â he said, setting the grocery bags down. âNo.â
I rolled my eyes. âCâmon! You barely thought about it. Why not?â
âBecause I hate you,â he shrugged. âWhy? What have I done to you?â I scoffed.
âWell, first of all you slammed a door in my face. Second, whenever we run into each other, you act like I murdered your whole family. And third, you denied my help before, but now you want it?  I think not,â he explained.Â
âLook, Iâm sorry. I really, really am, but I know for a fact that you want to get out. I want to, too! But Iâve learned that we canât get out without each other. Iâm sorry I let my pride take over me. So please help me,â I begged and apologised.Â
Kai grinned at me. âI love this.â âLove what?â I asked.Â
âI love seeing you beg,â he said, his voice dropping low. He started to walk towards me slowly. Stalking me like I was his prey.Â
I backed away from him, my eyes trained on him. I let out a huff as my back hit a wall. My eyes widened and stared into his menacing eyes.Â
âI love seeing you beg for me. Begging for my help like the helpless little human you are,â he muttered.Â
He arms went around your sides, trapping in-between him and the wall. I breathed out heavily and shakily, averting my eyes.Â
âIâm not helpless,â I protested. He smirked down at him, his eyes lighting up. âYou sure about that, princess?â
The way he stressed my pet name set my fire to my heart, and set my stomach flipping. He head hung low. So low that I could fell his breath on my lips. I felt his knee nudge my thigh and thatâs when I stopped breathing. I could fell myself slowly melting into a puddle right in front of him. Â
âYou gonna answer me, sweetheart, or are you just gonna stand there gawking at me?â He chuckled.Â
I swallowed hard. âN-No.â
âThen answer me,â he teased me. âY-Yeah⌠Iâm sure about that,â I whispered.Â
He hummed in reply. I let my eyes roam his face and set on his lips.Â
âOffer is still there,â he said. âWhat offer?â I asked.Â
âThe offer to kiss me. Remember when I offered when we first met?âÂ
âO-Oh, yeah,â I stuttered, beginning to catch my breath
âThe offerâs still there if you wanna take it.â My eyes flickered back up to his. I shook my head furiously. âI-I donât want to take it.â
âOh, I think you do,â he grinned.Â
I then snapped out of my daze, putting my hand on shoulders and pushing back. âI said no.â
âAlright, alright,â he held his hand up in defense, backing further away from me.Â
âNow youâve had your fun, will you help me?â I asked, running my fingers through my hair.Â
âI guess so,â he shrugged. My eyes lit up, âReally? Oh, my God! Yes!âÂ
I jumped up and went to hug him, wrapping my arms around him. I engulfed him tightly, entangling my fingers in his hair. It was surprisingly soft.Â
âThis feels nice,â Kai sighed.Â
I groaned, âOkay. Moment ruined.â I pulled away, stepping back a good few feet.Â
âYou hugged me first,â he shrugged. âYeah, yeah, whatever. Alright, so when do you want to get started?â I asked.Â
âAfter dinner,â he answered. âBut itâs 2 pm,â I said.Â
âI know. But how about you and me have dinner together,â Kai explained.Â
âI thought you hated me?â I asked. âOh, I do. I definitely do. Thatâs why I want to have dinner with you. I know just how to push your buttons. Youâre so cute when mad,â he grinned.Â
I growled at him. âAnd you are so annoying.â âSee! So cute,â Kai scrunched his nose.Â
âI bet itâll be cute when I give you a black eye,â I muttered.
âIt'd like to see you try. Anyways, if you want my help, then youâll come to dinner with me,â Kai shrugged.Â
I sighed, âFine. What time? What do I need to cook?âÂ
â7 PM. And nope, Iâll cook.â
âO-Oh, really? You cook?âÂ
âYep,â he grinned proudly.Â
âHm⌠Well, good to know. Anyways, Iâll be here at 7,â I said, making my way towards the door.Â
âMake sure to dress up! This is gonna be fancy!â Kai called out.Â
âNoted!â I exclaimed, stepping out of the house. I shut the door behind me, exhaling heavily. âNow you got a date with the townâs psycho, Y/n. Good going.âÂ
I strutted over to the car, getting in and driving back to my place. I read a few books to pass the time until I had to get ready. I got done with Twilight: Eclipse, as I actually had already started that the other day, and I went ahead and started to read more into Bonnieâs gramsâs grimoire.
It was all so fascinating, really. I was so amazed by just the spells themselves, I didnât even consider the history of all of them. While reading the grimoire, I started to feel a little jealous of the fact that Bonnieâs a witch, and the fact that Iâm a human with a ring that keeps me alive whenever I got killed. I almost started to feel jealous of Damon and Tyler, but I knew that I never would want to be a monster. Being a witch would seem nice, though. Not like Kai, though.Â
After a little heavy reading, I checked the clock. It was 5:49, which meant that I had to start getting ready. I put a bookmark in place in the grimoire and got up off the couch, heading up the stairs. I turned on the shower and got undressed.Â
I took off my sweatpants and socks, followed by my shirt. As I reached for my shirt overhead, the front of it brushed my nose. An unfamiliar, but calming scent  filled my nose. I slipped the rest of the shirt off, turning it back right side out and held it up to my nose. I closed my eyes and breathed the scent in. It smelled like mint, paper of old books, and a little like grape jam. As soon as the grape jam smell came to me, I immediately knew who this scent belonged to.Â
âEw!â I shrieked and threw the shirt across the room. It landed in the laundry basket, luckily enough. I let out a gagging noise, taking off my underwear and getting in the shower quickly.Â
I took my time washing up. Taking a shower seemed to be the only place I could really let go and bask in the quiet and loneliness that was in this house. It was strange because it was always quiet and lonely in this house. This was my only time to truly relax since I was doing everything to keep my busy during the day, so I wouldnât start crying and throwing a fit about still being here.Â
I lathered my body with shampoo, giving myself a little massage on my shoulders. I closed my eyes and started to imagine what life would be like if I wasnât stuck in 1994.Â
I would be with my friends, obviously. We would be at Whitmore, trying to live a normal life. Caroline, Elena, Bonnie and I would be having a picnic on campus. Sipping iced teas and eating sometime of desert. Damon would probably be with us, considering that Elena canât be without Damon for more than 10 minutes without dying - literally. Stefan would most definitely be there. Heâs my best friend, so of course he would be there. He would be talking to Caroline, though, her hogging all of his attention because she likes him (though she always denied it). And maybe Jeremy would be there, too, for Bonnie. Holding her hand and cuddling up next to her like the cute couple they are. And me? Well, I didnât really have anybody special in my life. I actually had a thing with Kol Mikaelson before he died. I liked Tyler briefly in high school, but Iâm 100% sure heâs into the girl that works at the coffee shop at Whitmore. Matt wasnât my type at all. Neither was Enzo. Maybe I had a cute boy a Whitmore on my arm. A classmate that I had invited to the picnic. Someone cute, smart, funny⌠a little crazy. Maybe⌠Maybe Kai. Â
My eyes snapped open as I became aware that Kai was now in my fantasy. I couldnât help but shudder, even with the hot water running on my skin. I washed the rest of my body, focusing on anything else but Kai. I turned off the water, wrapping a towel around me. I dried my skin off as I walked to the sink, putting on lotion and re-brushing my teeth. I stepped back into my bedroom and put on a nude-coloured underwear set. It was simple and very, very comfortable. I then went over to my closet, looking for an outfit to wear. I shuffled through all my shirts, not being able to find one that I liked. I sighed in slight frustration, stepping back to try and see if anything stuck out to me.Â
A little, annoying voice - that sounded much like my motherâs - sounded in the back of my head.Â
Maybe you canât decide on an outfit because you like him and want to look nice for him.
I scoffed loudly, shaking my head. âNo. I definitely do not care. Thatâs why Iâm just gong to wear this.â I reached into my closet and pulled out a simple dark-turquoise dress. It was spaghetti-strapped and plunged a little bit at the neckline. It reached down just above my knees. Perfect for dinner with an⌠associate.Â
I slipped it on and back to the bathroom and did my hair, putting it in one of my favourite hairstyles. I then got out some makeup products. I put on a light coat of foundation and concealer, curling my eyelashes and brushing them up with mascara. I then shaped my eyebrows and filled in the sparce parts, dusting on some blush and putting on chapstick. I looked in the mirror, stepping back to look at my appearance. I cringed as it looked like I was going on a date. I shook those thoughts out of my head. I wasnât dressing up for him, I was dressing up for myself. Thereâs no shame in wanting to look nice for yourself.Â
I went back into the bedroom and found a pair of black heels. I slipped them on, going over to the dresser and putting on a few gold bracelets and a pair of earrings. I re-adjusted my necklace that I was already wearing. I looked at my reflection and smiled. For once, I felt and looked good. I grabbed a black jacket and walked out of my room, checking the time once again. I had 10 minutes to get his house, which was perfect.Â
I went out of the house and to the Chevy, driving to Kaiâs house. I parked in the driveway, my heart beginning to race. I let out a few deep breaths and go out of the car. As soon as I was about to knock, the door swung wide open.
The door revealed Kai who was wearing a white button-up shirt and dark-blue slacks. He actually looked⌠nice, for once. My eyes traveled around his chest. I couldnât help but notice the way his biceps strained against his shirt. I could literally see his abs through the shirt, too. It did not help butterflies that were starting to flutter in my stomach.Â
âLike what you see?â He smirked.Â
My eyes flew up to his face, taking a deep breath to calm myself down from all the excitement I was feeling.
âNo,â I said flatly, going into the house and brushing past Kai.Â
âWell, you look nice,â he said as I walked into his kitchen.Â
âThanks. You do, too,â I complimented genuinely.Â
âIâve never seen you in a dress before. You should wear them more often.â
âIÂ donât like dresses.â
âBut you like me. Thatâs why you wore one to our date?âÂ
I balled my hands in fists, turning around to face him. âOne, this is not a date. And two, girls can wear dresses for themselves, not for men like you.â
Kai grinned widely at me. I realised I had fallen into his trap. He was trying to push my buttons and so far, he's been successful. I couldn't let him win, though. I had to calm down and get through this night. Otherwise I would probably never be getting out.Â
âYour temper is almost as bad as Damonâs,â Kai remarked.Â
I sighed, âWell youâre not making it easy to stay calm.â
âI know,â he chuckled, walking past me and to the dinner table. âI hope you like ravioli and mushrooms.â
âDid you make these or buy them?â I asked, walking towards the kitchen table.Â
âMade them. The Salvatores have lots of cook books. I might have stole them before you came,â he explained.Â
"Well, it smells great,â I admitted, beginning to take off my jacket.
âGlad you think so. Here, let me get this for you,â he slid over to me and took the jacket off my shoulders. He folded it and put it on the ledge of his couch.Â
âThanks,â I said. He then pulled my chair out for me. I sat down, thanking him this time with a smile.Â
âWine?â He asked, bringing a bottle over. âYeah, sure,â I nodded.Â
He poured two glasses and placed one in front of me. He sat down and took a knife and fork.Â
âDig in,â he offered. âThis isnât filled with like, cyanide, right?â I asked half-jokingly.Â
âHa-ha. No. I worked really hard on these,â he said.Â
âHm,â I hummed. I cut one of the raviolis in half and popped on in my mouth. My eyes widened as it tasted a lot better than I expected.Â
âGood, right?â Kai smiled.Â
âVery,â I nodded once I swallowed.Â
We ate in silence for a few moments. I was itching to talk to him about getting home. I took a long sip of wine before beginning to take.Â
âSo umâŚ. Iâve started to re-build the ascendent. Itâs a lot harder than it looks, but Iâm really close. I just have-â
âNo,â Kai said suddenly. I furrowed my brows, âWhat?â âNo, we arenât going to talk about that just yet. I want to get to know you,â he explained.Â
I rolled my eyes. âWhy? All you need to know is my name and that I hate living here.â
He chuckled, âNot true. I have trust issues. So before I get involved with you, I need to know I can trust you. See, I didnât trust Damon or Bonnie. I knew that they hated me from the second they met me. I knew that no matter what I would do, they would never give in to trusting me. You, however, you are so trusting. Didnât you find it creepy that I, a strange man whom you met in a parking lot, offered you a ride?â
âOh. I-I mean, I guess? But I needed a ride, anyways,â I said.Â
He shook his head with a smile. âNo. Not a good enough reason. Any reasonable woman would have run away from me. You, though⌠You saw something good in me, didnât you? You thought I was nice and cute. Maybe a little too forthcoming, but still you put some trust in me. And if you can trust me, maybe I can learn to trust you.â
âIs that why you didnât let me go with them?â I asked, suddenly connecting the dots.Â
âPart of the reason. I knew that I had no chance of getting home with Damon and Bonnie. But with you, I knew that I had a chance. Even though you are just a human.â âI am more than that,â I argued.Â
âAnd Iâm sure you are! But you see, I donât know that for sure because I donât know anything about you. See what Iâm getting at here?â âYeah, I see,â I grumbled. âGreat! So letâs start with the first question. Why do you always wear that necklace?â He pointed to my neck.Â
âIt was a gift,â I explained shortly, hoping he would notice the edge in my voice.Â
âFrom who?â He asked, the corners of his lips upturning in a smirk.Â
Of course he noticed. He just wasnât going to stop.Â
âFamily member.â âCâmon, you gotta give me more. I canât help you if I don't trust you.â I slammed my fork down on the table. âSo? Thereâs a lot of people in the world that you donât trust fully, but sometimes you just have to help them! Like in school, you may not trust one of your classmates personally, but if they ask you for help on a math problem, you would help them, right? And plus, I donât trust you. I never did, for the record. I just really want to get out of this place, which now I am believing is my personal hell, not yourâs, but I canât do that without you!âÂ
Kai took a bite of his ravioli, taking his sweet time to chew and swallow. I clenched my knife, tempted to throw it into his carotid.Â
âWatch your temper, princess. If you keep yelling at me, then I definitely wonât help you.â I closed my eyes and breathed in slowly, trying to calm myself down. âFine. Sorry. I just donât want to answer the questions about my necklace.â
âOh, I know. Thatâs why Iâm asking,â he grinned.Â
I rolled my eyes, settling back in my seat. âPlease, donât. Itâs really personal.â
âYou know, I killed my family. It canât get any worse than that,â he shrugged.Â
âYeah, well, this is worse to me,â I muttered. âWhat? Did you kill your whole family, too? Man, I didnât know we were so similar,â he chuckled.Â
âNo. They got murdered right in front of me,â I whispered out. Tears prickled the corners of my eyes. I lowered my gaze to my almost-empty plate. Thick, uncomfortable silence filled the room. I tried to fight the tears that threatened to fall, but as memories came back, I could no longer hold them off.Â
âI-Iâm gonna go. Thanks for dinner, Kai.â My voice was hoarse as I spoke. I swallowed hardly, trying to clear my throat, but it felt like shards of glass were rubbing the sides of it.Â
I went to grab my jacket and wrapped it around me, reaching out for the doorknob, but Kai pulled me back. He wrapped his fingers around my wrist gently, but firmly. He tugged me back slightly, enough for me to turn around and look him in the eyes. The expression on his face was something that I had never seen on him before. He looked regretful, guilty; full of remorse. For once I didnât feel annoyed or scared of him.Â
âIâm sorry that happened to you,â he spoke softly, his blue eyes boring into my e/c eyes.Â
âI-Itâs alright. Itâs not your fault,â I sniffled. âNo⌠I-I should have known this was too personal for you to want to share,â he admitted.Â
âYeah, well, I know how much you like to push my buttons,â I chuckled.Â
âI do. I admit that. But I really do want to get to know you.â I narrowed eyes at him, crossing my arms around my chest and leaning back in my chair. âWhy?âÂ
âBecause I⌠I think youâre interesting. When I was watching you and your friends, I was able to discover things. Things about Bonnie and Damon. But you⌠I couldnât figure out a thing about you. You talk a lot to Damon, and I know youâre really close with Bonnie, but youâre still so private. Iâm such an open person, so it was weird for me to see you be so closed-off, but outgoing at the same time,â he explained, his cheeks glowing pink as soon as he finished.Â
I couldnât believe what I had heard him say. He was finally saying nice things about me in a sincere tone. I couldnât help but smile and softened up. âReally?â
âYeah,â He shrugged sheepishly. âHm,â I buzzed.Â
âSo, will you stay and we can get to know each other? I promise I wonât ask you about your family anymore,â he said.Â
I stared at him intensely. As much as I wanted to say no, every fiber in my body was screaming yes.Â
âAlright, sure. Iâll stay,â I nodded. I knew that if I said no, he probably wouldn't help me get back home, but I was actually looking forward to staying. It seemed as though my feelings for him were developing a lot quicker and stronger than I thought they ever would.Â
A bright smile lit up his face immediately. âGreat! Do you want to continue eating? I have some ice cream, too, if you want.â
âIce cream sounds good,â I answered. He nodded and let go of my wrist, walking to his freezer.Â
I felt alone and cold all of the sudden. I felt myself start to miss his hand on me, holding my arm. His skin was so warm and surprisingly soft. I wanted him to touch me all over.Â
âTake a seat on the couch.â His voice broke me out of my dirty thoughts.Â
I shrugged away the thoughts and made my way to the sofa, taking a seat and making myself comfortable.Â
âDo you want a blanket of anything?â He asked, setting down two bowls.Â
âIâm good for now, thanks,â I said, reaching her to grab a bowl. âF/f?â I asked.Â
âYeah. This one of the few things I found out about you,â he smiled sheepishly, taking his bowl and sitting down next to you.Â
âIndeed I do. I assume you do, too?â I guessed. âYep,â he nodded. âHm. So, what do you want to know about me?â I asked.Â
âWhatâs your favourite colour?â
âF/c.â âDo you have any pets back at home?â He asked.
âI had a cat a few years ago. She died, though.â âOh, Iâm sorry,â he frowned. âIt's alright. She was 20, so she was bound to die soon,â I shrugged.Â
He nodded. âWhatâs life like back at home?â
I took a bite of ice cream, thinking for a few moments. âFun. Busy, but really happy and colourful.â
âAre you in college?â He asked. âYeah. Second year,â I answered. âWhatâre you studying?âÂ
âIâm majoring in human studies and minoring in art and design.â âSounds fun.âÂ
âIt is. And a little stressful,â I chuckled. He laughed with me, looking away from me for a moment and then looking back.Â
âDo you have a boyfriend, or girlfriend, back at home?â He asked.Â
âNope. Iâve been single for a good couple years,â I said.Â
âYou? Single? I find that hard to believe,â he snorted. âWhy?â I asked, my heart fluttering just thinking about his answer.Â
Kai smiled softly at me. âWell, for starters, youâre beautiful. Youâre strong and confident. You know what you want and have no issue in fighting for it. Youâre a little hot-headed, but I find it attractive. Youâre very smart; I see you reading almost everyday. Youâre determined and dream big. I can tell you really care about your friends and family, despite how much you and Damon bickered. Youâre like a girl in a novel or movie that other girls want to be.â
My whole face went warm at his explanation. My lips were upturned into the most cheek-aching smile, too.Â
âAnd you said it was hard to find things out about me,â I giggled, nudging his foot with mine.Â
âWell, IÂ couldnât find out personal things about you. That's all just from observation,â he shrugged, not seeming to be embarrassed.Â
I nodded, âWell, now you know a few personal things about me.â
âThat I do.â âIâŚ. I thought you liked Bonnie, too,â I spoke my thoughts out loud.Â
âSheâs beautiful, too. Sheâs also incredibly smart and intuitive. Sheâs very strong and nice. But youâre the one that really caught my eye.â
âOh,â I smiled impossibly wider. âWell, good to know.â âYep,â he popped the âpâ. I couldn't help but notice how his gaze dropped down to my upper chest, where my necklace sat.Â
âThey died one and a half years ago,â I started.Â
His eyes flew up to mine. âYou donât have to-â
âNo, no. Itâs alright. Um⌠so it was at night. Everyone else was at the house, but I had snuck out to go to a party hosted by Caroline. At this time, I was involved with a vampire named Kol. He convinced me to go out. I knew it was wrong and I was going to get in trouble. I was what some would call a goody-two shoes. Anyways, I stayed out until like, 2 in the morning. I was getting tipsy and tired. So, Stefan, Damonâs brother, drove me home. When I first arrived at my house, it looked completely normal. It was quiet and peaceful. It wasnât until I walked into my house when I knew something was wrong. There were lights on upstairs. It felt so tense, too. I could literally feel how tense and thick the air was.â I stared down at my ice cream for multiple minutes, blinking rapidly as tears fell.Â
âI went upstairs and thatâs when I saw him. He was tall and wearing a ski-mask, like he was trying to rob us. I guess he had other things he wanted to do, too. He didnât see me at first, though. It wasnât until he shot my dad when I started to cry and thatâs when he noticed me. I ran away though and into my siblingâs room. I saw that they were still were asleep and safe. So I did the first thing I thought was sensible. I called Stefan. I explained to him that someone had murdered my dad. And as I called him, I heard my mom scream,â I shuddered as her scream ringed in my ears.Â
âThatâs when I heard the door being kicked open downstairs and I knew that Stefan was there. He had brought Caroline and Damon, too, with Bonnie. They were all here to help and I was so appreciative of them. I thought they were going to kill the guy, which was honestly what I wanted. But apparently, the murderer was a vampire. An old one, too, which meant he was stronger than everyone. My friends put up a good fight and I tried to get Andrew and Jenny out of the house, but as soon as we were going down the stairs, the murderer sped up to us and snapped both of their necks. I-It all happened so fast. IâŚ.I just couldn't register what was happening. They both just fell limp in my arms. I didnât know what to do but cry. I was practically screaming while crying, cursing at the murderer. I tried to fight him, but I was so tired and weak, he almost ended up killing me, but luckily Stefan got to him the fastest and ripped his heart out. He fell right on top of me, too. I will never forgetting the weight I was feeling just then. Metaphorical and physical. I pushed him off of me and collapsed into Stefanâs arms. He held me for what seemed like forever until I stopped crying.â
I felt Kai move closer to me, putting a comforting hand on my hand. I smiled softly at him, letting out a deep breath as I was about to finish the story.Â
âI didnât come to school for four months after that. I didnât even come out of my room during that time. My friends took turns everyday taking care of me. Stefan was on cooking duty, Caroline, Elena, and Bonnie switched roles of helping me bathe, getting me to eat, trying to get me to take a step out of bed. Damon and Jeremy provided the jokes and funny stories to try and get me to feel better. Alaric, who was acting like Elena and Jeremyâs parent, adopted me into their family. He said it was Elena and Jeremyâs idea and he agreed fully. After my grieving period, I moved in with the Gilberts. Elena and Jeremy called me their sister and I fell into that role. It was nice to have a family again. It was nice to have siblings again. To have a parent again. I knew it wasnât real, though. Jeremy and Elena acted like it was real, though. They were so welcoming of having me as a sister, it was just so good. Once I went to college, though, I tried to get a little more independent. Bonnie was gone, actually, so all I had was Caroline and Elena. But we made it work. Iâm so thankful for all of them. They really helped me and never gave up on me. Even when I threw fits about getting out of bed,â I smiled at the memories of them helping me.Â
âAnyways,â I shifted on the couch. âThe summer before college, I ended up cremating my family and spreading them across the Pacific Ocean, thanks to Damon who gladly took me on a trip.â
âWow,â Kai breathed out. âI know,â I chuckled.
âYou have really great friends. Iâm sorry that all happened to you,â he said. âI-I canât imagine what you went through. And what youâre still going through.â âYeah, well, Iâm the survivor here. Youâre an actual murderer,â I smirked.Â
He laughed, âTrue. You know, if you know that Iâm a murderer, then why do you agree to spend time with me?â
I sighed and set the empty bowl of ice cream on the table. âWell, youâre right. I am trusting. I see the good in people and I see the good in you. When I was about to walk out the door, I saw the good in you. I see the good in you now. You can be good, Kai. I know itâs hard considering what you have been through, but you are just as much as a survivor as I am.â I intertwined our fingers and put my other hand on his forearm.Â
âYou were abused as a child. You were punished for being different. And although that doesnât excuse you killing your siblings, you still deserve love. I donât know how being in a coven works, but I do know how being in a family works. Youâre supposed to love each other and your father didnât give you that love. Sure, youâre a little⌠eccentric at times, but you still have feelings like everyone else. I know Damon and Bonnie called you a sociopath, and I know I did, too, but now that Iâve seen this side of you, I know youâre different. You should be able to resent your father for being blamed for being a siphoner. Which, by the way, I think it really cool, honestly. I-Iâm sorry for yelling at you and getting really mad all those times,â I apologised, looking at him in the eyes to know I was sincere.Â
He shrugged with a smile, âWell I didnât make it easy on you.â
I laughed, âNo, you did not. Anyways⌠You are a survivor Kai. A survivor of your family and this world. You deserve a lot more than you think.â
âThank you. I guess thatâs true,â he said.Â
I smiled and leaned into him, âI know itâs true.â
He smiled at me, his hand tightening around mine. My eyes trailed down to his lips, ogling them for a good few moments.Â
âDoes the necklace has pictures of them?â Kai asked.Â
I leaned away immediately, my hand slipping out of his. âYeah, do you want to see them?âÂ
He nodded, moving closer to me so our thighs were touching. I took off the necklace, opening it up and showing him the left side where my parentâs picture sat.Â
âThatâs my dad, Owen, and thatâs my mom, Louisa,â I pointed.Â
âYou look just like your mom,â Kai muttered.Â
I looked to my right, seeing that he was staring right at me. I blushed a little, looking down shyly. âYeah. We got our genes from our mom.â
âAre they Andrew and Jenny?â He pointed to the right side of the locket.Â
âYep. Andrew is 10 and Jenny is 13,â I said.Â
âThey look like good kids,â he commented. âThey were. I often wish that it was me who died instead of them,â I murmured.Â
âWhy?âÂ
âBecause I was the one who snuck out that night. Plus, my mom and I were having some relationship issues. She was always so irritated with me and criticizing everything I did. The last thing I said to her that night was âI hate you. I wish I had a different mom.â,â My lips were pulled down in a deep frown.Â
âWell, you didnât mean that, right?â Kai guessed.Â
âI didnât,â I shook my head. âWell, thatâs all that matters,â he said.Â
I nodded and looked up at him.Â
âYou have a little⌠Here,â he said and lifted up his hand. He cupped my cheek, his thumb running across my cheekbone, wiping a few tears away.Â
My breath hitched as I felt myself leaning towards him. There was like this magnetic pull that I was feeling. I knew I couldnât fight it if I tried. His eyes met mine, staring intensely at me. My eyes flickered down to his lips. They looked so soft. So pink. So unbelievably kissable. I was about to close the space in-between us when Kai stopped me.
He put his hand on my shoulder, pushing me back.Â
âWhat? Did I read the situation wrong? Iâm so sorry,â I rushed out, getting up from the couch.Â
Kaiâs hand grabbed my forearm roughly, pulling me back down on the couch.Â
âNo, itâs not that. You read the situation totally right it's just that⌠Iâve never kissed anyone before,â he admitted, looking down shyly.Â
I smiled softly, reaching my hand out for his. âItâs alright. We donât have to do anything. Itâs late, anyways. I should get going.â I looked at the clock, noticing that it was 9:30.Â
âOr you can stay and we can watch a movie?â He suggested. âSure,â I nodded with a smile. âCan I take my shoes off?â âYeah, of course. Actually um, do you want a change of clothes?â He asked.Â
âYeah, if you donât mind,â I nodded.Â
âSweatpants and t-shirt work for you?â He asked.Â
âIt definitely does,â I said. âGreat. Iâll be right back, go ahead and make yourself comfortable,â he said, getting up from the couch.Â
I smiled and nodded, taking my shoes and jacket off. I leaned back on the couch, sighing. I could not believe I was making nice with someone who tried to kill me. Damon was right. My type is crazy.

Can we get detective Aomine, who gets assigned a female partner but from the start they're always at each other's throats. During an undercover case, reader has to be super flirty and Aomine gets all jealous and mutual confessions ensues. Maybe some sexy times at the end? :') Sorry if this is too specific, feel free to come up with your own interpretation! I'm such a huge fan of your work Sam and I'm so excited that you're opening your askbox even just for a little while!
ngl idk what im doing here but this is the last request in my inbox so i wanted to finish it haha pls enjoy (not proofread so excuse mistakes) - also my first time writing smut in like years so forgive me!!
Sometimes, Aomine thinks that if he isnât a law and order professional, he thinks he might actually commit murder and hide your body away in some undisclosed, obscure location. Most of the time, you feel the same way about him.Â
The two work in different divisionsâAomine in homicide and you in robbery. The two divisions have always been highly competitive especially given how much overlap you both encounter. Things can get territorial, but their teams are used to your snide remarks and Aomineâs verbal assault. Itâs just the way the world works.Â
After all, the two of you were in the same graduating class. You, a valedictorian by books. Aomine, top of the class by combat. Itâs natural that the two of you are so competitive with your conflicting personalities.
The two of you may have also fucked at some point.Â
â
âIâm not fucking working with her, are you kidding me?â Aomine spits out at his boss. Any other person wouldâve been kicked out of the room or probably fired, but Aomine is the best detective in his division so Akashi would never do such a thing. For now. Aomineâs been wearing his patience thin.Â
The red-haired man sighs, folding his hands together atop his desk. âAomine, I understand you both have had your immaturity in the past. This, however, isnât the time for such trivial matters. Thereâs a double homicide downtown during a robbery. Sheâs the lead for the case on the robbery end because theyâve been tracking a series of these.â Aomine opens his mouth to argue again. âNo more buts. Sheâs already down there getting witness statements. Unless you want to be behind again, I suggest you get in your car and start driving.âÂ
He grits his teeth. Breathe. Donât strangle your boss, heâll probably kill you first. âIâll take Wakamatsu.â
By the time he arrives on the scene, a crowd has gathered behind the police line, snapping pictures in the hopes of getting something Twitter worthy. He growls past all of them and ducks underneath the tape. âWhereâs the officer that called it in?â
âInside talking to the detective.â
âIâm the detective,â he snaps right back, knowing full well youâre already three steps ahead of him. And you definitely wonât let him forget that.
He marches past the thick front doors, Wakamatsu in tow. From a distance, he spots you talking to another officer. When he finally approaches you, he realizes that youâre in a skin tight dress covered by an oversized police jacket.
Your name slips past his lips. âDid we interrupt a hot date?â He smirks.
You whirl around, knowing full well the irritating voice that grates on your nerves. Aomine Daiki. âUnlike you, I have actual friends and actual plans on a Friday night. Did you decide to give your wrist a break for the night?âÂ
Aomine bites back, âWell, itâs not getting much rest either when I had my fingers knuckle deep in something tight and wet tonight.â Complete lie but heâs not about to lose this battle. âNot sure you know how that feels though.â
âIf youâre talking about the pudding in your fridge, you might want to ease up on that. Doesnât look like itâs doing you any favors,â you smile right back at him, knowing full well youâve won this argument.
Aomine growls low under his breath, jabbing Wakamatsu hard with his elbow when he hears the snort escape him. âBrief me on the situation,â he tells the police officer.
âWell, uh, I already told this detective hereââ
âIâm the other detective in charge for homicide. Now, you better fucking brief me before I tell your captain.â
The guy glances at you warily and you just laugh. âTold you he hasnât gotten any in a long time. Come on, sugar, Iâll brief you on the way down to the vault.â You curl your finger in a gesture to get him to follow you and he sucks up his pride for the first time and do as heâs told. If he solves this case, he still gets the credit and you can go back to that sewer where you came from.
There are two bodies at the vault and forensics are already working to collect evidence when they arrive. âYour area of expertise, double homicide. Both are surprisingly the robbers. Four of them broke in, only two were seen exiting with money bags. No other casualties.â
âFucking weird,â Aomine mutters. Itâs not new for robberies to go wrong, but for two of them to die with no civilian casualty? Thatâs fucking weird. Â
âInteresting, isnât it?â You grin, seeming way too pleased considering there are two dead people in front them. âThe ammo is the same as the previous bank robberies in the area. Weâre going to assume theyâre linked to the Red Dragon clan.â
âFuck,â he groans, âI fucking hate those guys. Bitches to deal with. Hard to infiltrate.â
You flick your hair over your shoulder, grinning at him. He canât help but draw his gaze to your neck, a very attractive neck. Now that he notices how tight that dress is, he canât help but admit that it has been a while since heâs gotten any action. The curves of your breast defined so clearly by the fabric that stretches across the mounds, the flow of your hips, every dip and rise. Your exposed legs further emphasized by your heels. God fucking damn. He feels his pants tighten as he licks his teeth. Get it together, Aomine.Â
Of course, the clothes do nothing to remove the memory of your nude body from his mind. Heâs seen all parts of you some time ago. A drunken mistake that ended in a brief, but extremely satisfying night of passion. Your tight pussy wrapped around his cock, your nails digging into his biceps. He can still picture the sheen layer of sweat on your skin as he rams into you, your broken moans falling from your lips.Â
âWell, lucky for you,â you start again, pulling him out of the hazy cloud of lust. âI already have someone on the inside. Theyâve set up a meeting for me tomorrow night meet with the headâs son. Iâll try to get some information done.âÂ
âLucky for you, Iâm free tomorrow to be your backup. Youâre welcome,â Aomine smiles, âDonât fuck this up. I donât feel like cleaning up after your ass.â
âI should say that about you, asshole.â
â
Aomine is sat in a dingy van just across the street from the bar youâre having your meeting. Youâve hidden your mic in the perfect spot, a location which you do not disclose to Aomine. However, he has a feeling itâs somewhere promiscuous that he wants to be aware of. They can see the restaurant clearly, their brat hacker Sakurai having plugged into the restaurantâs security cameras.Â
âShut the fuck up, Aomine. I can hear you munching on your stupid sour cream and onion chips.â You mutter into your mic before the guy arrives. You sip your wine and take a deep breath. This isnât the first time youâve gone undercover but it is the first time to have Aomine behind you while you do so.Â
The detective looks down at the can in his hands. Sour cream and onion. How did you know? He sets it aside, bringing the mic up to his lips. âMaybe you should do your job better and focus on your meeting instead of listening to me. Why are you so obsessed with me, hm?âÂ
However, a manâs voice on the other side of the headphones has him straightening. âGood evening, I didnât expect to be meeting a lovely lady like you tonight,â the sleaze says and Aomine can just imagine him kissing your hand. âWhen Tanaka said Iâd be meeting with the right hand of White Claw, I didnât expect it to be a woman.â
âWell, we are moving up in life, Mr. Ito.â
âYour good looks are certainly quite persuasive. Iâm sure there are ways you can convince me to strike a deal.â
Fucking. Sleaze.
âOh,â you laugh lightly, âwhat a flatterer. Youâre not so bad yourself. I can imagine people fall at their feet for you.â
âWell, I am quite knowledgeable in more ways than one. Perhaps I can show you tonight after dinner.â
The two banter back and forth, trading flirty comments that puts Aomine on edge. Youâre supposed to be doing your job and he knows that. He knows this is all an act but youâre a damn good actress.Â
âAomine, where are you going?â Wakamatsuâs concerned voice carries through the speaker.
You freeze. This fucker better not screw this whole operation up. âWell,â you say, âthis has been a lovely dinner. Iâm sure we both can come to an agreement without doing anything reckless.âÂ
The double meaning, a sentence meant for the man across from you and the man listening to you rings clear. Aomine growls, sitting back down petulantly in his seat. He was about to rage in there and start a war, but holds himself back. Be professional, Aomine. Job first, dick needs later.Â
âThe same to you. Itâs been a pleasure meeting you,â the man smiles. âAre you sure you wonât join me for the night?â
Aomine snarls low into his mic. Wakamatsu shoots him a weird look. You let out a little giggle and he knows itâs meant for him. âNo, thank you, Mr. Ito. Iâm afraid I have other commitments to tend to.âÂ
When he knows itâs safe, he storms into the restaurant where you still sit, sipping your drink. Sliding into the seat across from you, he rolls his eyes. âEnjoy yourself?âÂ
He didnât see when you were set up with the mic earlier so he also hadnât seen what you were wearing. Heâs almost grateful because he knows he mightâve lost it if he did. Tight ass dress, deep neckline that shows ample cleavage (heâs always a sucker for this), sultry eyes, red lips. God, all his favorite things packaged into one.Â
Your lips quirk up. âThe breadsticks here are quite nice.â
âFucking hilarious. Letâs go.â
âWhy the hurry?â
âUnless you want Wakamatsu to hear me fuck you, you better dump that mic and get your ass up.â
You lean back, narrowing your eyes at him. âIâm not sure I like your tone.â
âTrust me, you donât have to like my tone to enjoy what Iâm going to do to you.â
Licking your lips, you consider your options as you bring the wine back to your lips. âFine,â you mutter, unclipping the mic from the strap of your dress. Aomine moves faster though, snatching it from your hands and dumping it into the wine. Before you can protest, he already has a hand wrapped around yours, tugging you up from your seat and into the back room.Â
Youâre stumbling in his manic rush, heels barely keeping up with your movements. âAomine!â You chide as he pushes all the way to the employee break room. The space is fortunately empty and Aomine locks it to make sure it stays that way. âCan you please stop?! Youâre such a caveman, Iââ
Heâs quick to shut you up, swallowing your words with his lips as they slot over yours. He doesnât waste time, shrugging off his leather jacket as he licks your bottom lip for permission. You gasp a complaint, but he takes advantage of the situation to stick his tongue in, pressing it up against yours.Â
All your worries fall away into a moan as he separates from you only to gasp for breath and pull his t-shirt over his head. With nimble fingers, heâs unzipping the back of your dress and yanking it down, leaving your top half exposed. Shivering, youâre about to voice your disapproval but your brain seems to stop functioning the second your gaze lands on his tanned body.
Aomineâs always been attractive. No one can deny. Thereâs a reason why heâs simultaneously the precinctâs most eligible bachelorette and most insufferable jackass. His confidence matches his skills. His looks live up to his brags. Hard lines and shadows are painted on him like a masterpiece in a museum. His broad shoulders make him look even bigger with his height. His jeans that hang just low enough to be tantalizing with the hint of a v that leads to the space between his legs.Â
Your mouth dries up at the sight and Aomine smirks knowingly. Youâve fallen into his bed before, he can make it happen again. âTake a picture, itâll last longer.â
âFifth grade humor doesnât become you, Aomine.â You scowl as he backs you up against the table in the middle of the room. He effortlessly grabs you by the ass to lift you up and onto the surface, the metal cool against your exposed thighs.Â
âDid you dress up for me, doll? Knowing full well that this was going to happen,â he grins devilishly, bringing his hands up to shamelessly cup your breasts.Â
Itâs not as if youâre embarrassed for being so bare before him. Youâre proud of your body and he damn well knows that. You let him fondle you through your bra for a little bit. âNo, you animal. I dress for the job.â
âYou tell me you wear this flimsy thingââ he teases the light coverage of your lingerie. The lace is sheer and barely covers your nipples, the material holding onto your breasts for dear life. ââfor the job?â
âI do my job right, asshole,â you spat right back. âSo are you just going to stand there or are you going to fuck me?â
A wide grin stretches across his face. The heat in his eyes carry to his hands as he works to unclasp your bra and let it fall to the ground. Aomine doesnât waste time as you lean back on your palms, granting him full access to fondle and suckle on your tits. His tongue swirls around the sensitive nubs that have grown stiff in the contrast between the cold air and his warm breath. His teeth graze the sensitive skin hard enough to have you groaning in pleasure. His lips close in around them and suck. He uses his hand to tease and tug your other breast, pinching it to elicit that delicious whimper out of you. Aomine alternates between the two, making sure you stay warm.Â
Meanwhile, you let your hand fall to the bulge between his legs. He lets out a small grunt at the initial touch but seems to respond favorably to the way you stroke the tent, nudging his hips forward for more friction. âIs that a gun in your pants or are you just excited to see me?â
âYouâre so fucking ridiculous,â Aomine mutters, both humored and unamused by your comment.Â
âFuck,â you let slip as your fingers struggle to unbutton his jeans. âYour fucking pants. Donât you live in sweats? You choose today of all days to wear your stupid tight jeans?â
Aomine chuckles, âPatience, baby. You know you like my ass in these.â
You do, but youâre not about to admit that. He quickly works off his pants, letting them drop to his ankles as he moves towards you again. While he continues to stimulate your tits, your hand begins groping his cock which is rock hard and peeking from the top of his boxers.
âGod, I miss having this inside me,â you whine, pulling the flimsy fabric off and letting it pool on top of his jeans. âCondom?â
âYou donât want me raw? You know you want to feel all of my cock,â he grins. You throw him a glare and he just chuckles as he reaches for his wallet on the floor, pulling out a packet and tossing it onto the table. âBut first,â he pauses, letting his hands slide down to cup your pussy, which is admittedly already drenched at that point.Â
He hisses when he feels your juices drip and coat his fingers. âYouâre so fucking wet, goddamn. How long have you been waiting for this?â
âWhen that robbery happened, I was about to get laid for the first time in months. So fucking sue me,â you snarl at him.Â
âWell, I am here to please,â he wets his lips. He slips one finger in, sliding in all too easily. So he adds another finger and feels your walls pulse around him. He begins pulling it out before shoving it back in, repeating the measure to stroke your walls. He curls his fingers inside as he watches your face closely.
Your expression morphs from irritation to blinding pleasure in an instant. Your eyes slide shut, your lips part to exhale shaky breaths. Aomine seems to know exactly how to angle and twist his fingers to induce a heart attack. The sounds falling from your mouth are ephemeral, Aomine wishes he can film this moment so he can replay it over and over again.Â
He pumps his fingers into you and ducks his head to take your nipple into his mouth again, tongue circling the tip. âGod, you taste so fucking good. I forgot how wet you can get. Donât even need lube to slide into you, huh? Youâre already dripping for me.âÂ
âAsshole,â you murmur weakly, clearly in no place to retort.Â
âRemember the first time I fucked you? God, you were so easy,â he grins, âyou were so wet, so turned on already. Remember when I stuck my tongue in your pussy? Licking up your juices. You tasted so sweet.âÂ
Your breath stutters in your chest, hitching in your throat. âFuck you, letâs not forget how quickly you came when I sucked you off.â
âI mean, the sight of you on your knees is enough to get anyone off, sweetheart.âÂ
âFuck me,â you groan. Any rational thought has fizzled from your brain. The feeling of his fingers inside you is enough to consume you whole, overwhelming you in waves of rapture.Â
âWhat was that?â
âDickwad.â
He chuckles darkly, licking his lips again. âBeg me.â
âIâm not going toââ
Aomine yanks his fingers out, looking down at you, taunting you. He waits as you internally struggle with your moral convictions. Are you willing to give up your pride for one night just to get fucked out of your mind?
Easy.
Yes.
âPlease,â you huff, âplease fuck me.âÂ
âPlease fuck me who?â
Your eyes find the ceiling, wondering what in the hell you did in your lifetime to have met the devil that is Aomine. Biting your lip, you lean closer to whisper, âPlease fuck me, Da-i-ki.âÂ
The man is a sucker for you calling him by his first name. And to get what you want, youâre willing to play into his hands. Aomine lets out a low growl before ripping open the condom packet and rolling the thin rubber along his length. Your pussy squeezes at the sight. Just imagining what itâs like to have that thickness inside of you, fucking you full, has you on edge.Â
He doesnât waste a single second, pulling you forward and slowly positioning himself in front of you. He holds onto his cock, letting the tip trace your pussy lips, circling it and letting your juices drip onto his cock. Stroking the wetness along his dick, he uses it as a lubricant before he slides himself inside you.
When heâs buried to the hilt, Aomine leans forward and lets his forehead rest on your shoulder. Your pussy is so fucking tight. Itâs squeezing and throbbing around him with the engulfing heat. He feels as if heâs going to explode right then.Â
âFuck, you really havenât been screwed in a while,â Aomine rasps.Â
âTold you.â
Aomine starts off slow, pulling out and pushing back in. With how thin the condom is, he can feel every ridge, every bump in your heat rub up against his cock. The sensations is enough to have his thighs quivering, but heâs not one to back down. He begins to pick up the pace, thrusting deep inside of you repeatedly. HIs mouth latches onto your neck, tongue lapping and teeth nipping to paint purple blooms upon your skin.Â
His movements are building a bubbling pressure in the pit of your stomach. You feel your heart tightening with every move, your insides squeezing. The absolute pleasure that crashes over you has you breathless, your hands finding purchase on his arms.Â
He mutters filthy words in your ear, one of his hands reaching up to tangle in your hair. He yanks back lightly, just enough to have you moaning. You like it rough, heâs well aware of that. He pounds into you relentlessly, hands keeping you in place as whimpers tumble from your mouth.Â
âFuck, right there, oh god,â you gasp, âfuck me harder. God, your dick feels so good. Filling me up so full with your thick cock.âÂ
âKeep talking like that and Iâll be tempted to come in you, baby,â Aomine grazes his teeth along your ear, hot breath kissing your skin. âGod, I want to just fucking cream inside you.âÂ
âBetter watch yourself, Daiki.â
Aomine grins lasciviously, sweat beginning to bead his forehead as he attempts to keep himself in check. He feels you tighten your pussy, walls closing in around him. âBitch,â he growls. You know what youâre doing but heâs not about to let you gain dominance of the situation.
So his hands dig deeper into your hips as he fucks you harder and deeper, his cock pulsating inside of you on the brink of his self-control. âIâm about to come,â he says with eyes squeezed shut. If he sees your tits bouncing as he fucks you again, he might actually combust in that second.Â
âMe too,â you panted, fingers scraping down his arms.Â
With a few more pumps, Aomine spills into the rubber with a grunt. He feels you convulse around him, your entire body trembling in the aftermath of your orgasm. He can feel his come continue to leak from his cock. God, he hasnât come this hard in a fucking long time.Â
His heart is thundering in his chest from the impact of his climax. He slumped forward, leaning against you for supportâalso partially to feel your tits press up against his chest. âFuck,â he huffs.
âThat was good,â you admit to yourself, still breathing heavily as you begin fixing your hair. âWe should do that again sometime.â
Aomine just laughs, huffing against your skin. âYouâre the fucking she-devil.â
âSays the guy whoâs fucking me in the back room in the middle of an undercover operation.â
âDick first, job second.â
â
Wakamatsu looks at him when he walks into the precinct that morning. âYou do realize the captain is going to kill you for fucking up that expensive mic, right?â
Fuck.

Forget Me Too Colson Baker X Reader
Word Count 1,448
"You want me to forget you
Okay, forget me too
You tell me you hate me
Baby, yeah, I bet you do"
Some relationships last forever, but most donât. Some, in particular, seem destined to crash and burn. And not just burn like a campfire but go up in flames like someone doused them with a truckload of gasoline and topped it off with some dynamite. There are few experiences more devastating than a bad breakupâ such was the case with Colson and Y/N.Â
I was okay but deep inside i wasn't.
Since then there's not been a single day that has passed without him being in my thoughts.
I tried everything. Blocked him. Convinced him. Flirted with another guys. Casual datings. Slept with few of them. Made girlfriends. Installed all sort of dating applications. Deleted Instagram. Isolated myself. Read as many books i could get my hands on. Travelled, been on trips. Made good friends. Stalked him. Talked to him. Tried to be best friends but to what end? No ends
So every fucking thing I did. It is not that I was miserable but there was something missing that was bothering me and that was Colson.
We tried to make things right and atleast stay in touch but I failed everytime. He used to follow me, text me and even check on me and I just blocked him because I missed him but i didn't want to talk to him. Not because I was jealous or I was angry but yeah I missed what Colson and I had and I knew that now we can never have.
We tried but failed. Or maybe only I did.
But still I did talk to him and it was me who blocked him more than ten times. And I was the one who also unblocked and he used to talk to me. He used to say until now you're the one I have shared my life with and we can end up with what we started from. Being bestfriends but that was not acceptable to me. I tried several times but it didn't work out.
He tried to explain all sort of things to me but the heart wants what is wants.
Three years have passed and I feel the same for Colson. He was cute but not so innocent and he never left my system. It was all in my head and slowly I realised and I did leave from the very place that felt like home.
But it was now just a wreck. Couldn't be fixed. We were done breaking one another in the name of love.
Colson did try to save that friendship. Not just once, but a few times. But Silence was the response. Then he gifted her Space and stayed away so she can be happy. Love isnât about possession.
Sometimes we don't get closure all the time and it is not required either. We just have to learn to live with that pain.
He had broken her he knew that between countless times of forgetting date nights, the numerous one night stands with other women and of course his drug issue was often the subject of many an argument. Any trust Y/N had once had was now gone. He thought back to the last argument they hadâŚ
FlashbackâŚ
âNO FUCK YOU KELLS IF YOU WANNA GO OUT PARTYING ALL NIGHT GO IM FUCKING DONE WITH THESE GAMESâ Y/N screams and storms out the house in the pouring rain getting intoher car.Â
âOK FUCK YOU TOOâ Colson screams back walking out the house in nothing but joggers.Â
Y/N climbs in her car and speeds out the drive way and onto the street.
That was the last time they spoke face to face. She wouldn't respond to his texts or his phone calls no matter how much he tried. Colson lost Y/N and for good this time and he had no one to blame but himself.Â
"Fuck!" Tossing the empty beer bottle he had in his hand it hit the wall and smashed into tiny pieces. Emotions ruled the scene. All the Worlds a stage and both of us were the leads in the play called LIFE. "I know how much you are hurt and I don't know what am I going to do to make up for it" Colson thought to himself.Â
I've wasted so much time
Waitin' around for your phone calls every night
My bad dreams are silk screens
'Cause I taste blood when you bleed
It's eatin' me alive
We'd both be better off alone
Still think I'd get you on the phone
With one last breath in me
I'd die before I'd let you leave.Â
Sometimes silence speaks a thousand words, with more deep meaning. Words take back stage. Love is much more than just a feeling.
True Love waits with patience, but sometimes true love alone is not enough. There is no past tense in love. You always will love. May be the heart will try to heal and learn to live with that pain, the biggest problem is to silence the mind and move on.Â
It's not even like getting over a dead person. Getting over someone you love truly is an extremely difficult task. Someday your heart will learn to live with it. It may not completely move on, but it will try to heal and live with it. The problem is to just silence the mind.
It hurts. It hurts real bad. It stings. There is a pang in Colson's heart every single time he think about Y/N. He cares for her that much and he loves her that much. He experienced the pinnacle of happiness when he was with her, and now when she leaves, he experiences a nadir of sadness. It really hurts because he still cared and he will care, even though she is no longer with him. His heart will still care.
May be he loved her way too much and pushed her away or didn't know how to properly show it, all he ever did was fuck up. But it is the only way he knew to love her. Because she still means the whole world to him. He really has that hope that she is happy and if at all she comes back, she will still be the only princess in his life. If at all everyday in life he wanted to ask: "would you like to save today's changes?" World would be an awesome place. But that's what life is all about. We all make mistakes and we learn.
Sometimes time doesnât heal things. It just makes us stronger to deal with pain. Sometimes true love alone isnât enough. But someday if at all she realizes his love, she will still be the one he truly loves and care for.
Iâm sorry for strangling you with my true love.
Iâm sorry when I love you unconditionally even after you wanted me to stay away and move on.
Iâm sorry if my care appeared as pestering.
Iâm sorry if my love appeared as torture.
Colson thought aloud as if Y/N was right there in the room to hear him.Â
It was all because I truly love you unconditionally. Even after you broke my heart a million times, those million pieces still love you to the truest of its senses. Because that is what love is all about. UNCONDITIONAL.
But all I wanted to say to your deafening Silence when you cut me off from your life and left is that âStaying away and no communication is never a solution to anything in life my dear.â
It is not that he didnât accept that she donât want him anymore in her life, but that he still loves and cares about her even though she canât give me anything in return. It is not because he canât move on or donât want to move on, it is because his love for you is true.
He is not crying because it ended. But because he still loves her. Even after she ended it and ignored him completely. Tears start rolling down his cheeks, when he guided her hair behind her ears ,in the latest picture of hers. The moment when a picture speaks a thousand words. Every love story doesn't have a happy ending, because TRUE LOVE doesn't have an end. He still loves her in silence.
But he promises her that life will move on and he has learnt to live with that pain. He has learnt to emotionally detach myself and be strong. Life now even without her though was just going through the motions.Â

Fly | Route Selected: N. Yuu
genre: mafia au
warnings: violence, guns, blood
word count: 3.2k
Fly Masterlist
âI..I choose himâ
You made eye contact with the short man with a blond streak in his hair
âWhat?â
The distaste in his voice was evident
It was so silent in the police precinct that you could hear a pin drop
Daichi cleared his throat to try and cut the tension
âOk well if thats your choice then thats that. Nishinoya, make sure they get home and get them to work tomorrow. Dismissedâ
Nishinoya nodded his head
âYes, sir.â
You were surprised that he had little objections about it
But you were soon pulled out of your thoughts when he roughly grabbed your wrist
âStop daydreaming lets goâ
He let go once the car he called came for you two
And as soon as the door closed and the car was moving he pinned his arm against your neck, almost choking you
âI dont know who you are or what youre doing here but i swear to fucking god if i think youre going to hurt anyone here then i will kill you. Nod if you get itâ
You nodded your head as fast as you could and he backed off of you
You were too terrified to say anything after that you basically tried to make yourself as small as possible in your seat
After about ten more minutes the car finally arrived at your apartment
âIâll..um..see you tomorrow nishinoya. Oh im y/n by the way!â
He just grunted and waited for you to shut the door
After he left you went to your room and just fell onto it while taking a deep sigh
Just what have you gotten yourself into?
Nishinoya was at your house at 8:00 AM sharp. He was leaning against the hood of it, checking his watch every two seconds waiting for you
You knew he was there but your nerves refused to let you go down there
Only when you two made eye contact from your window did you know that you had to go
âSorry im late!â
He said nothing as he got into the car
The car ride was awkward to say the least
You could hear your own heartbeat, could he hear it too?
You were so caught up in your thoughts that didnt even realize the car had stopped
âHeyâ
You snapped your head toward him
âYes?â
He rolled his eyes
âWeâre here so get out alreadyâ
You undid your seat belt and tried to keep up with him
Where were you exactly? You looked up at the building in front of you to see âSawamura Inc.â plastered on the front of it
Your eyes widened, you were working here now?
âGet your ass insideâ
Noya brought you out of your thoughts once again and you hurried yourself in
You were then stopped by an intimidating looking man
âHey im asahi and ill be training you today.â
Between nishinoya and him you didnt know who was more intimidating
Actually it was nishinoya, dont know why you even had to ask yourself that
But despite asahi being the one to train you, nishinoya never left your side
You could practically feel his eye burning holes into the back of your head the entire time
This continued on for weeks
Nishinoya always made sure you were within his eyesight
You were printing some charts out for suga and noya was leaning against the doorway
âNishinoya, can i ask you something?â
You took his silence as approval
âDont you have other work to do? Im sure that you probably have better things to do that just watch me run errands for everyoneâ
You were right, he did have other things to take care of
But you were his number one priority during the day
âI can just take care of my other things at night. I was ordered to watch you so i am. Besides you chose me so if you have a problem thats your own faultâ
You shook your head
âI dont have a problem with you, dont misunderstand, i just hope that im not being too much of a hindrance to you? I just mean...i know you didnt ask for this so..im sorry if ive caused you any problemsâ
You took the stack of papers from the printer and turned towards him with a smile on your face
âBut thank you for taking time out of your day to watch over me, whether you were ordered to or otherwiseâ
You walked out and he just stood there for a moment processing your words
He just scoffed
Why would you be thanking someone who threatened to kill you only a few weeks ago?
You were strange
He thought it was weird that you had absolutely no sense of danger
But hes noticed a ton of weird things you do over the days hes been watching you
How you scrunch your nose when you dont understand what youre doing
Or how you play with your fingers when youre nervous
All of these little actions were so annoyingly cute--
Wait no. not cute.Â
Definitely not. He had to focus. You could still be a threat to the mafia and he wasnt going to let anyone, no matter how cute they were, hurt his family
But watching you interact with the rest of the mafia made him feel as if he didnt have to be as hard around you anymore
He thought it was funny how you teased kageyama sometimes actually
And he almost wanted to join in on the fun
But he knew his place
Right now was one of the rare instances that nishinoya wasnt on you
So you turned your head to asahi who was sitting across from you doing his work while you had the chance before noya came back
âHey asahi?â
He looked up at you
âWhats up y/n?â
You fiddled with your fingers
âDoes nishinoya not like me? I mean i can understand since i take up a lot of his time but i feel like theres a wall between us that he wont lower no matter how much i try and talk to himâ
Asahi just let out a deep sigh
âThats not surprising. He...hes slow to trust. Out of any of us here, hes probably been with the sawamuras the longest. His loyalty is unparalleledâ
You nodded along as you followed his words
âThen..i guess ill just have to earn his trust!â
That didnt happen for a couple more weeks though
It had happened when some grunts that worked in the office barged into the break room to get some coffee
They had shoved you out of the way to get to the counter
Luckily nishinoya caught you before you could fall
âGod can you believe Daichi is pulling out of the shiratorizawa alliance? What a dumbass moveâ
âYeah maybe hes going stupid in the head. Knew he wasnt cut out for thisâ
They both started laughing and you could feel noyas arms going stiff
âH...hey!â
You stood up from the ground before noya could jump in
Both of them turned their head towards you with scowls on their faces
âYou got something to say?â
You kept your gaze firm
âActually yeah, i do have something to say. Daichi is a good boss and he always does what he thinks is right for everybody. If he thinks that pulling out of the shiratorizawa alliance is whats best then i trust him on that and you should too! I mean, you two work for him! Dont you think you should show him a little respect?â
They just both busted out laughing
âRespect? For him? Hes nothing without his father. He never wanted anything to do with us anyways. Hes a weak bastardâ
âYeah well at least hes a better man than you two will ever beâ
Maybe you provoked them too much
âYou wanna say that again bitch?!â
You raised your hands to cover your face bracing yourself for the impact
But you opened your eyes when you heard their strangled voices cry out
âDont touch themâ
Nishinoya was in front of you, the man who was gonna hit you on his knees with his wrist in noyas hand
A sickening crack heard in the room
âLeave. I dont want to see either of your faces here ever againâ
Both of them scrambled out of the room as fast as they could
You let out a shaky breath
âThank you nishinoyaâ
He turned towards you with his hands in his pockets
âIt was nothing. Just doing my jobâ
After that he wasnt as abrasive with you anymore
Talked to you more at work
Even joined in on teasing kageyama with you!
It made you smile every time he helped you with something as simple as bringing you a drink in the morning
Seeing you smile in the morning started to be something he would look forward to
He trusted you more now
And eventually it led to him knocking on your door at 3 AM on a friday night
You opened the door to your apartment still only slightly aware of what was happening
âHello?â
You immediately perked up at the sight in front of you
Noya looked like he was about to collapse from the amount of bruises and cuts on him
âCan i come in?â
You quickly got him inside and sat him down on your couch
âUm stay here and undress ill go get my first aid kit
He just nodded his head as you ran off
Once you came back you poured some alcohol on a rag and went for the bigger slash on his side
But you stopped at what you saw
He had so many scars
You unconsciously brought your hand up to one of them and ran a finger over it to which he shuttered under your touch
âY/N?â
You pulled your hand away and focused again
âSorry, this might stingâ
You saw his face grimace and his hand tighten around his shirt
âDid that hurt too much?â
He shook his head
âNo its fine keep goingâ
Once you were done disinfecting and bandaging all of his wounds, you laid him down on a pillow so he could rest
âOh! Let me go get you some waterâ
But once you came back he was already asleep
You set the water on the coffee table and grabbed a blanket from your room and laid it on top of him
You sat on the ground next to him just taking in what had just happenedÂ
He looked so different when he was asleep but still just as handsome
You slowly fell asleep with your head leaning against the edge of the couch cushion
Noyas eyes slowly opened due to the cracks of sunlight coming through the window
When he turned his face he was only a hair length away from yours
Which startled him so he shot up from the couch which made you bolt awake
âWhat is it? Whats happening??â
You looked around looking for the fire only to see that noya had woken up
âOh good morning nishinoya. Sleep well?â
You stretched your arms out and yawned
âYou can take a shower if you want. Ill go get you a towelâ
He was about to object but you left too fast
He stood up and looked around your apartment and saw some photos on a shelf
He picked up the frame to see a young you, probably around five or six with two adults sitting beside you
Your parents
He suddenly realized how...ordinary your life must have been
âNishinoya?â
He snapped his head towards you and put the photo down
âCmon ill show you the showerâ
You had a smile on your face that made his heart do something weird
He didnt understand it
After he got out you were sitting on the couch with your first aid kit
âDo you need help rewrapping your bandages?â
He nodded his head and made his way toward you to sit down
You started wrapping him up, trying to be careful not to irritate his wounds
He just stared at you
Normally someone would be curious in this type of situation
So why werent you saying anything?
âAre you not going to ask any questions?â
You just kept applying ointment
âNo, unless you want to talk about it but i know it doesnt really concern me as im not..officially in the mafia with you guys. What happened is your business, i know you handle your jobs at night since youre busy dealing with me during the dayâ
He was kind of shocked at how understanding you were
His hand reached out on its own and pulled you into a hug before he knew what he was doing
You froze as soon as he pulled you in
Just what was happening?
You both slowly pulled away from each other, hints of reds and pinks covering both of your cheeks
âIm done wrapping you up so Iâll um go shower now. If youre hungry feel free to look in the kitchen for something to eatâ
You rushed off with a hand covering your face
Noya sat there confused
What had gotten into him?
He put his shirt back on and left before you could come back out
He wasnt being himself and needed to leave
Monday came around and you hadnt seen or heard from noya since saturday morning
You were shocked to see that he was gone when you had come out of the shower
But at the same time you were relieved to see him gone after that awkward moment together
Noya had picked you up like usual though and he acted like nothing had happened
So you decided to just follow along and did your job as usual
It was kind of awkward between the two of you
The only thing breaking the silence between you two was nishinoyas phone notification going off
âI have a meeting with daichi. Ill be back laterâ
You nodded your head
âIll be hereâ
He quickly left the room and you let out a sigh
Noya quickly made his way to daichis office, clutching the area above his heart
Why did it race around you now?
You didnt even do anything
You were just...there
âGod what the hell is wrong with me?â
He ran a hand through his hair
You on the other hand finished all your tasks for the day
You looked at the time...only half past two
There was a bakery right around the block, maybe you could pick something up real quick for everyone
So you went on your way grabbing only your wallet since it was so close
As soon as you turned the corner though you felt something was wrong
You picked up the pace, hoping to get to the bakery before anything happened
But as soon as you picked up the pace so did your stalkers
You yelped when you felt someone yank on your arm, pulling you into an alley
âSomeone help! Nishinoya!â
You tried to kick whoever was holding you
âShut them up we need to get out of hereâ
A white cloth came over your mouth and you were quickly unconscious
Itd been hours since noya had last seen you and he could feel his stomach dropping
Where the hell were you?
Kageyama said he last saw you finishing up a report for suga and suga said he received that hours ago
Noyas foot wouldnt stop tapping the ground, he couldnt sit still and everyone around him was starting to notice how antsy he was
âHey noya whats up?â
Asahi was just trying to get noya to calm down from whatever was bothering him
âI havent seen y/n since my meeting with daichi. For some reason my chest gets tight when i think that something bad mightve happened to them. When they smile my heart races and i cant stand the idea of anything bad happening to themâ
Asahi just let out a deep sigh
âNishinoya, have you ever considered that you might love them?â
He...loved you?
Suddenly everything made sense to him
How he caught himself smiling whenever he saw you teasing kageyama or how when he woke up that morning in your apartment he wanted nothing more than to wake up like that every morning
He loved you
A ringing sound echoed in the room and noya pulled out his phone
An unknown number
Unease settled in him as he answered the phone
âHello?â
âThis Nishinoya?â
His hand tightened around his phone
âYeah. Whos thisâ
âMeet us at the warehouse on 6th near the port in thirty minutes and come alone. If you dont then itd be a shame if something happened to y/nâ
Noya could hear your strangled whimpers before the phone call endedÂ
His blood ran cold
âAsahi..someone took y/nâ
His voice was low and feral, it sent chills down asahis back
âI'm going ahead. Bring backup ill send you the detailsâ
Nishinoya grabbed his jacket and left the buildingÂ
His feet hit the ground as soon as he got there, he couldnt care less about his own safety right now
The cold metal pushed against his hands as he opened the door to the warehouse
âY/n?!â
He felt his heart stop once his eyes landed on you
Blood ran down your face, your beaten body limp on the floor
âTook you long enough. They werent as fun as we thought they were going to be. Glad you got here before we broke âemâ
Noyas jaw tightened as he instantly recognized them
How dare they touch you
He had shown them mercy the day they almost hit you in the break room
But now he knew that was a mistake
âWhat do you want with me?â
They both had disgusting smiles on their faces
âYou got us kicked out of the mafia, something that was important to the both of us. Of course we had to return the favor, though weâll be taking themâ
The man gripped your chin and noya saw your eyebrows twitch from the discomfort
âDont touch them!â
Red flooded noyas vision
He hadnt felt this amount of rage and fear in a long time
But as soon as he moved one of them had a gun pointed at him while the other was on you
âTheres no way you can win this. Just sit and watchâ
âIs that what you think?â
Noya turned around at the sound of daichis voice
Hed never been so relieved to have backup before
In their shock the karasuno mafia quickly got the upper hand against the two former members
And as soon as noya could he lifted you into his arms and wiped away the blood on your face with frantic movements
But you slowly grabbed one of his hands and intertwined your fingers with his
âThank you for coming nishinoyaâ
His lips quivered as tears flowed down his face and onto yours
âIm so sorry y/nâ
You shook your head
âIts not your fault noya. Please believe me when i tell you thatâ
He nodded his head and tried to stop his crying
âI love you so much y/n. You wont ever have to go through this ever again, i promiseâ
His brought your hand up to his lips and he kissed your knuckles
âI love you too, noya. Now cmon, lets get home im really tiredâ
He lifted you up and carried you out, not bothering to talk to anyone as he left and no one talking to him either
For the first time karasunos guardian had something else he wanted to protect
And he was going to love and treasure you for as long as he was alive

My favourite moments from your series 'Faking, falling' that made me feel things, Part 1
" Fake it, till you makeâ it was just a small phase with an unknown source, no available citations, no shreds of evidence available of how effective it was, yet so overrated. Maybe that was the prime reason why you accepted it as a mantra. A mantra that would solve a specific problem in your life, a problem that goes by the name of Harrison Osterfield."
I second that, Harrison Osterfield is a problem. Also why does that opening paragraph sound like like something Anthony Mackie would say in context to Tom Holland đđđđ
"You were falling for him and he was faking it from the very beginning."
What a pompous arsehole. Alexa delete my feelings.
âSorry, darling but I donât do feelings. And anyways you are not my type of girl.â
Mr. ' I dOnt dO feEliNgs bEcaUse iM sO cOol ' . God I hate people who say those words so fucking much. You don't like me? FINE, YOUR LOSS.
"You gasped and opened your eyes, seeing him back up, completely dry while his friends were standing on top of the staircase with a now empty bucket laughing like a maniac and right then Harrison Osterfield started laughing too. He laughed hysterically while you watched him with your hairs dripping from alcohol, clothes spoiled, fists clenched and vision already blurred with tears."
Surgery for my legs because I can't STAND THESE HOES
"Truly a magic boy who knew nothing but cheap tricks."
"Is that all you've got? A cheap trick and a cheesy one-liner?" "Sweetheart, that could be the name of my autobiography." IS THIS A REFERENCE TO IRON MAN 3? PLEASE TELL ME IT IS
âI guess itâs time for getting another eye checkup, specky.â
Bold words coming from another speckyđââ
Seriously Y/n, out of everyone you chose to have a crush on him?
me, after I get over every single crush I ever had. This is the most relatable line in this whole series. And I'm not even kidding. Men are trash. "buT noT aLl meN" and you know what? You're right, Peter Parker could NEVER.
âYou okay?â Harrison moved closer to you, studying your finger.
why the snik snak tik tak Frick crack do you care you abominable shit goblin?
"Ting"
why did this made me laugh I'm soRRY-
" "Sorry babe, I was thirsty," she simply said, "
SURE YOU WEREđ
"He nodded ignoring the beautiful girl whose presence was mentally strangling him."
I love how all writers come up with variations for " I dislike x person". The other day I read somewhere that, " His voice made my brain go through a cheese grater." Like that's GENIUS đ
" But he didn't want to look disrespectful or create any scene. "
WHALE WHALE WHALE MR. OSTERFIELD, TOO LATE FOR T H A T
"Sometimes he asked himself why he was even considering them friends. They weren't anything like Tom or Tuwaine or the twins. But the latter were now no more his friends."
so no one told you life was gonna be this way đđđđđ
"Shelly..."
she sells sea shells on the shore - try saying that 5 times faster lmaoooo
" "It's two and a half hours past six. The photographers were really pissed. It's dangerous for my reputation. How am I supposed to face them again? Should I shut this project?" George slid into the chair, hands on his face."
BIIIIIIG REPUTATION, BIIIIIIG REPUTATION, OOOOH YOU AND ME WE GOT A BIG REPUTATION AAAA- ok ok Imma stop
""I mean I would really help Harrison with his punctured car if I was there. I got out of the home after 8 myself and found him speeding. I have no idea. And basically, Cath drives via highway and is still on time, I don't know how Harrison got stuck in the traffic. Is it so Harrison?""
WE LOVE DOING TIT FOR TAT YES, GO YOU PETTY QUEEN
""It affected my self-esteem." He said quietly which made you look at him. "Like you cared for mine at Rick's party. I didn't ask you to lie, to pretend as if... as if you like me. And how did you treat me?""
I can't tell you how much I laughed sinisterly at this (my sister thought I was going insane) , love when someone gets a taste of their own medicine đđđđ
"There's isn't just any article available on the internet to teach you how to hate someone."
Yup bros, turns out adulting is just googling the stuff you don't know how to do.

logan larkâs adventures in trying to appease his parents
CHAPTER 4: a tight-knit family
Summary: Logan Lark is a fairly average high school student. By all means, he should be impressing his parents on all grounds. Except...he doesnât exactly have a social life. So after his parents give him puppy dog eyes, he decides to join the local theatre's youth production. Good grief...His life is about to get weird isnât it?
Warnings: Potential ooc behavior, Roman is a theatre brat to the highest degree (Sorry Roman stans), Remus being Remus, (If I miss something please tell me!)
Notes: This fic is based off an idea from @under-the-blue-moonlight. If you wanna be tagged in chapters, please dm me!! This chapter we see a LOT of Patton, a little of Virgil, and some Roman being an ass behaviour. I apologize if this chapter is lackluster, itâs important I promise!! Also I just finished chapter 5...its 3295 of intrulogical fluffÂ
Pairings: Eventual Intrulogical, Eventual Rociet, Eventual One-Sided Logicality, Platonic Analogical, Platonic DRLAMP
Word Count: 2269

After a few weeks, not disappointing Remus was a weak reason to be here.Â
Though he never considered himself a quitter, god he would love to just quit one thing in his life. The thing being theatre.Â
When Thomas arrived Roman bombarded him with questions. Turns out, Logan was cast as Hamilton due to his exceptional rapping. Roman, weaker at rapping but a very confident and strong singer, could provide the extremely skilled vocal performance required by Washington. If Logan were to get sick, Roman would play Hamilton and Remus would hand over Mariaâs part to his understudy. Which made sense, of course. The beginnings of rehearsals were, by all means, not entirely awful. They were going to learn the music to the show, song by song. The first problem arises with Loganâs absolutely awful stage fright. After the first run-through of the title number, Alexander Hamilton, Logan almost threw up again. People looked directly at him whenever he sang or rapped. The musical director, Jamahl, assured him it was fine. Jamahl, as nice as he was, would be receiving a solid two on Loganâs chart. Itâs okay, Logan, Everyone gets stage fright, Logan. That, quite frankly, sounded like a bunch of bullshit. Especially since every time Logan got too nervous and messed up, Roman laughed from off to his side.Â
Which shouldnât bother him. It really shouldnât. Except...Well, it was infuriating to be laughed at. For something he canât control no less. He was ready to ball up his script and pelt him with paper until he stopped being a colossally egotistical idiot. Along with Romanâs frankly abhorrent behaviour, Logan also had to deal with feigning...romantic intimacy. Donât get him wrong, Patton was a very nice guy. But...how would you feel knowing your first kiss would have to be fake for a theatre production? Bad. You would feel bad. So does Logan. Logan is sick of all of this, and by the end of the second week he finally snaps.Â
When he hears that during Helpless he needs to kiss Patton, he doesnât bother to hide his surprise. Of course, after he does, Roman decides to open his big dumb mouth.Â
âWhatâs wrong, Microsoft nerd? Upset that your first kiss will be on the stage?âÂ
Patton reels back and glares at Roman almost instantly, opening his mouth to defend Logan, when Logan turns on Roman himself.Â
âI am beginning to wonder if you ever just shut up,â Logan snaps, fists balled in anger.
âBecause honestly, for the two weeks I have been in this theatre program, you have done nothing but spout off like a tea kettle about to boil over all because I happened to be better than you at one thing. So I am sincerely asking, do you ever shut up?â
Somehow, he has done the impossible. Roman is stunned into silence, his face goes red with anger.Â
âHow dare-â Is all he manages to get out before Thomas calls for a five-minute break.Â
Thomas motions for Logan to come over to him, and heâs still fuming. If he were as dramatic as a certain hoity-toity theatre brat, he would be practically foaming at the mouth. Thomas is an adult, so he tries to pull himself together.Â
âI apologize-âÂ
âDonât. Roman kinda deserved that,â Thomas says with a smirk, âHeâs a great kid, but he has a lot to learn.â
Itâs his turn to be shocked into silence, because never in a million years would he expect an adult to enable such an outburst.Â
âReally though, Logan, Just try not to let it happen again. Iâll let it slide this time, okay?â
With a nudge to the side and a kind smile, Logan is sent to have his break.Â
Roman is quiet for the rest of the day. Logan could not be more pleased. Romanâs anger at him was unjustified and awful, he was overall awful. After today, he would need to add a negative rating to his charts. He doesnât think he could ever get along with someone like Roman without eventually succumbing to his anger and strangling him. Logan knows his extreme anger is wrong, but Roman was just...just...absolutely, unbelievably, infuriating. Sitting in the lobby waiting for his father like usual, he is approached by Patton. Alone this time, without Virgil. Which is strange.Â
âYou look like youâre about to rip someone's head off,â Patton giggles out with a sympathetic smile.Â
Logan sighs and gives him a little smirk, âMy apologies, are you going to be getting a ride with Virgil tonight?â
âNo, his dad is picking him up! I was actually wondering if you wanted to hang out!â
âI-â Logan thinks on this for a while, then shrugs. It may be for the best. Patton has been very kind, and he has defended him when Roman was being a jerk.
âSure, let me message my father.â
Pattonâs car is a beat-up looking second-hand thing that looks like it rolled out of a dump. Inside, itâs actually very well taken care of. Patton calls the car âChristineâ and pats her lovingly. Hanging from the rear-view mirror is a small frog-shaped air freshener that makes the car smell of strawberries. The seats are comfortable, and Pattonâs music is sweet. Eventually they pull into a parking lot in a townhouse area, and as they walk down the street Patton waves and says hello to all his neighbours that are outside.Â
âYou know them all?âÂ
âOh, yeah! Lots of them have babysat me, or my sisters! And Iâve babysat for them too!â
Huh. He didnât know Patton had sisters. Though, the second they enter his house, itâs entirely obvious.Â
In the living room, there are three young girls. Pattonâs shoes are barely off when the two youngest ones rush him and engulf him in hugs. The older one walks over and smiles at Logan first.
âHi, which one are you?â She asks, and Patton laughs.
âDelilah Ann! Thatâs not nice!â
âIâm Logan, itâs nice to meet you.â
âIâm Lilah, Iâve heard a lot about you. Mostly âcause Pat doesnât shut up.â
Patton looks a little pouty, but Logan thinks he likes Lilah. She doesnât look much like Patton at all. Her hair is more wavy than curly, and a very nice strawberry blonde colour. She doesnât have glasses, and dresses very tomboyish, the only thing that ties them together are their freckled cheeks. Sheâs only thirteen, but Logan finds her interesting to talk to. While Patton is dealing with the younger ones, she tells him about how she wants to be a mortician and is the smartest in her family. Logan smiles a little while they have a mostly one-sided conversation.Â
One thing the siblings have in common is certainly their talkative likability.Â
The younger two are put to work on their homework at the dining table, and Patton begins to set up dinner. Logan sits next to the girls at the table, Delilah retreating to her room, chatting with Patton as he cooks. He offered to help but was denied at every turn. Something about him being a guest, and how he shouldnât have to. Theyâre discussing their roles in the play when the youngest slams her head against the table dramatically.
âPatton! I donât wanna do this anymore!â She whines, Patton puts some potatoes in a pot then brushes off his hands on his apron.Â
âDo you need help, or do you need a break?âÂ
âHelp!â
Logan peers over her paper and sees a bunch of simple multiplication questions, she must only be in second or third grade.Â
He clears his throat, âIf youâd like, I could help you.â
âOh! Oh! Yes! Patton can Logan help me please!âÂ
Patton agrees, despite obviously looking at Logan and saying âYou really donât have toâ with his eyes. Logan likes to teach, heâs more than happy to help out. Especially since Elaine is extremely charming. You can definitely see how much she looks like Patton. Big square glasses, blonde hair in pigtails, tons of freckles dotting chubby cheeks. She acts like him too, spouting out awful dad jokes that make Patton lose it laughing in the kitchen. She tries her best to listen, and manages to actually complete her math homework with a pretty good mark. Her teacher will hopefully be impressed. Loganâs dad texts and asks if he needs to be picked up, but Elaine begs him to stay for dinner and...well he canât say no, can he? Patton says he doesnât have to stay, but he wants to.Â
Heâd never had siblings, it had always just been him and his parents. Though he loved them, and they loved him, it was so...lonely sometimes. He had always wanted a little brother or sister, maybe even a pet, but it never really happened. The energy in Pattonâs house was somehow a perfect mix of lively and calm, they felt like they were really a family. Logan relished in it. The feeling of community, full of love so openly given and received. The most he had were very quiet holiday dinners with the few Larks who were left. He remembers being Elaineâs age, he felt so lonely. She wasnât lonely though, she was full of love. So was Patton. It was very nice. He watches Patton cook and he chats with him while realizing heâs been much too harsh on him. His kindness wasnât fake, there was no way. He was a real person who was actually that nice. He defended him out of the kindness of his heart.Â
Ding.
hey logan wyd rn
Ah, Virgil. That was a pleasant surprise.Â
Iâm actually at Pattonâs house. Elaine has roped me into staying for dinner.
He can almost hear Virgilâs little chuckle.Â
yeah she does that hows sophie
Sophie? Oh, that must be the third sister. Sheâs very quiet, her eyes havenât once looked upwards the whole time theyâve been sat together.Â
âAhem-Uhm-Sophie,â Logan starts, and Sophie looks up from her homework, âVirgil was wondering how you are?â
Her eyes light up, âIâm good. Is he going to come over?â
Sheâs good. She wants to know if you will be coming over.
hah, sure tell her to give me 20Â
âYes, give him twenty minutes.â
Sophie smiles, and Logan is reminded of Virgil almost immediately. She has dark brown hair that covers her face and a bit of a natural glare. Her smile is shy, and he wonders if Patton secretly stole Virgilâs little sister.Â
It seems like it, even more, when Virgil actually gets there. Sophieâs entire demeanor changes. She becomes extremely talkative and tells Virgil all about how sheâs got a new villager in her animal crossing town. Virgil entertains her with talking, going and helping Patton to cook. Logan gets up to help as well, but Virgil waves him away. Virgil looks like he belongs here, in this little dining room-kitchen. Heâs laughing beside Patton, talking to both girls and Logan, helping cook and set the table. Logan canât help but wonder how many times heâs done this before. While Patton is putting the food on the table, the door opens and a tired-looking woman enters. Virgil goes to greet her, and she smiles. Her hair is curly and blonde, her eyes are a cloudy green, she is covered in a smattering of freckles, and she looks...just like Patton.Â
Logan gets up to go greet her as well. When she sees him she beams and itâs like heâs been confronted by the sun herself.Â
âYou must be Logan! Virgil and Patton talk my ears off about you!â She pats his head, and continues, âThe boys just adore you! Itâs about time you came for dinner!â
He almost canât speak, and both Virgil and Patton whine about her embarrassing them, but he nods, âThank you for having me, but Iâve only known them for two weeks, Maâam.â
The woman looks a little confused, then laughs joyously, âNo need for that, kiddo! Just call me Lisa, okay?âÂ
After patting him on the shoulder, she slinks by and greets all her children. Lilah has come back down, and the whole table is now filled to the brim. Dinner is filling and delicious, Patton really has a talent for the culinary arts. Which is strange considering Logan took him as someone who, like him, couldnât cook to save his life.
After dinner, Patton brings Logan and Virgil to his room to hang out. They play video games, talk about anything they can manage, and by the time itâs late Logan is smiling. At nine, Elaine and Sophie are whining about Patton putting them to bed. Virgil and Logan wish them good night and Virgil drives Logan home.Â
âLogan, Iâve gotta ask...why did you agree to hang out with Patton?â
âWell...Iâm not actually sure. I think that I needed it.â
âHow do you mean?â
Logan looks out the window and thinks to himself. Why? Heâs never had friends, or much of a close family. He figured he agreed because wellâŚ
âPatton has something I donât. It helped me understand him better to see what he has.â
Virgil accepted that, but Logan wasnât sure he understood it fully. Heâs not even sure he does.Â
That night, Roman gets a negative two. Patton gets a ten, and written on his pages are the names and personalities of his family members. Along with that, is a very simple phrase.Â
I have concluded that Patton is, indeed, a very good person.
Why it took him this long to come to terms with, he will never understand.Â

It didnât matter if they were small and intimate or classy and refinedâyou were always uncomfortable at parties. Maybe because when you were growing up, your father used you at parties to pick pockets and distract the hosts. Or because you had never been invited to any.
Either way, when Roman announced a party early in the year, you wanted to crawl into a hole and die. You tried to beg out of it, but he insisted.
âAnd make sure you buy something classy,â he told you.
Nothing he had ever said to you had made you want to pummel his face as much that statement did. Swallowing your rage, however, you took some of the leftover bonus money you had given yourself for all your hard work as his CFOâyou had filed paperwork, because you were tired of still being called an accountantâand went to one of those fancy shops you never even bothered looking at.
You walked out with a modest black dress, the material sleek. Silver threading crawled up the right side of the dress above a mild slit that stopped mid-thigh. When you put it on, you could see the scar on your collarbone distinctly.
You arrived at the party thirty minutes after the start time. Roman had rented out a venue so he wouldnât have to go to the trouble of dressing up the club. A vaulted ceiling with tasteful chandeliers hanging down like dew droplets soared above you as you stepped into the ballroom. Circular tables encircled a large, rectangular dance floor on which several couples already swayed to music. A big band played on an elevated stage at the back of the room.
Awed, your unease momentarily subdued, you wove among the tables, looking for a seat. There were no name cards, leaving you to decide where to sit.
You didnât get a chance.
Someone made a strangled sound behind you. You spun around to find Zsasz staring at you, lips parted in surprise.
âWhat?â you asked.
He reached out and touched the threading running down your side, tracing it with his fingers. âItâs like a beautiful scar-piece,â he breathed.
You snorted at the pun and looked down at where his hand pressed against the material. âYeah, if I had to be scarred that much, it would be nice if it were patterned.â
He looked up suddenly, staring intently into your face. Shocked by his intensity, you deflected, âIf youâre going to keep your hand on my waist, we might as well dance.â
âI donât dance.â
âThenâŚlet go.â
He frowned, his hand tightening. His thumb traced over one of the embroidered curls. âFine. Iâll dance.â
Leading you out to the dance floor, he did his best with the dance posture. You struggled not to laugh. To keep his hand on the pattern, he had inadvertently established himself as the female partner. You decided to keep it in your back pocket for a rainy day.
He pulled you close, enough for him to feel the sleek material against his frame. He wore a white silk shirt of his own under a black blazer. You had to give Roman one credit: He knew how to dress his man.
In your heels, you were eye-level with Zsasz. You hadnât noticed before just how short he was, though 5â9â wasnât that short, you admitted. It occurred to you that the only times you had been this close to him, he had been cutting you up. You werenât sure how you felt about that.
âWill Sionis be jealous if he sees us?â you heard yourself ask.
Zsasz tensed for a moment, then relaxed. âItâs a party.â
It wasnât an answer, but you let it be. Instead, you studied the scars lined up along his neck.
âYou did all of these, didnât you?â you asked quietly. You brushed your finger over them to clarify.
He shivered beneath the touch. âYes.â
âWhat for?â
The soft jazz horn trilled behind you as you both swayed past the stage.
âTheyâre for each kill,â he answered. He dragged a finger across the scar on your clavicle, leaving a trail of burning nerve endings.
âYou were a touchy child, werenât you?â
âWhat do you mean âtouchyâ?â
You laughed at the hard note in his voice. âLike, you had to touch everything.â
His lips peeled away from his teeth. âYeah, I did.â
âI can tell.â
âZsasz!â
Zsasz stilled but didnât let go, glancing over his shoulder. On the other side of the room, Roman waved him down.
âYour master calls,â you muttered.
He relinquished you, backing away. You hadnât realized how warm he had kept you until his body no longer pressed against yours. His hand was the last to leave you, fingers dragging over the threading. With something akin to regret, he slunk away.
You slipped out of the venue after dinner and Romanâs self-congratulatory speech. Zsasz had circled back to you once or twice, sometimes passing by just to run his palm down your side. When you realized you had stopped minding the contact, you knew it was time to leave.
Outside, the frigid night air chilled you to the bone. You stepped up to the curb, looking for a taxi.
Footsteps sounded quickly to your right. Before you could see them fully, the hooded figure snatched at your clutch.
âFuck off,â you shouted, yanking back without thinking, refusing to relinquish it.
He pulled hard, forcing you against him. Thrashing against his chest, you slammed your heel down. It met skin and bone, gouging out his shin and sinking into his foot.
He screamed.
Shoving him away, you staggered a step back, readying yourself to kick him again.
âYou bitchââ
His eyes went wide as he flew backward. Zsasz threw him to the ground with a roar, immediately dropping down on top of him. He punched the man in the face, smashing his nose with a sickening crunch.
You watched with an uneasy detachment as Zsasz pummeled your assailant. It wasnât until you saw the knife flash in the darkness that you snapped awake.
âStop.â
The man shrieked as the blade bit into his cheek.
âStop!â
You seized Zsaszâs arm, pulling it away from the man. Zsasz glared at you, wild-eyed with fury. You pulled again, trying to drag him off.
âLet him go,â you pleaded. âHe just wanted my money.â
Victor snarled as the man whimpered, gurgling on his own blood.
âVictor,â you implored.
The sound of his name drew his attention. He was breathing heavily, shaking with adrenaline.
âHeâs learned his lesson.â You tugged on his arm again, slowly pulling him away. âHe didnât hurt me.â
The man struggled to get to his feet. You tightened your grip on Zsasz as he watched the man stumble away.
âI shouldnât have walked out here alone,â you said, more to yourself than to Zsasz. âI couldâve called a cab and waited inside.â
âIâm taking you home,â Zsasz growled, pocketing his knife.
âI can getââ
âIâm driving.â
Taking you by the wrist, he led you back to the venue and barked for the valet. The valet scrambled to bring the car around front. Zsasz snatched the keys from him as you slipped into the passengerâs seat.
The silence in the car was deafening. It weighed down on you as Zsaszâs palpable anger radiated off his body to your left.
âIâm fine, Victor,â you assured him, unsure of what else to say.
He shook his head, knuckling down on the steering wheel. He didnât say a single word the whole ride. You fidgeted in your seat, infected by his agitation.
When he pulled up to your apartment, he threw the gear into park and stared out the window.
âThanks,â you muttered, reaching for the door.
He grabbed your wrist, stilling you. âYouâre okay?â
âIt scared me,â you admitted slowly. âIt always does.â
He looked at you sharply. âThis has happened before?â
You blew out a sigh, glanced out the window at your apartment complex. âIâm always afraid.â Itâs part of being a woman, you wanted to say, but you knew he wouldnât understand. Instead, you added, âIâm always alone. That makes people think Iâm easy prey.â
His hand tightened on your wrist, but you pulled it free anyway. âI wouldâve been okay, but I wonât lie and say I wasnât glad you showed up.â
He blinked. You realized that when he wasnât hopped up on sadistic glee, his eyes were like those of a deer.
Climbing out of the car, you retreated to your apartment, hoping that Zsasz wouldnât track down your assailant and kill him.
Then again, if he did, at least you wouldnât have to see it.

Youâd left a hundred voicemails. You'd called a thousand times. Youâd sent a million texts. And yet, even despite your ruthless ambush, Jaebum â in an equally as ruthless manner â still did not reply to you. That was understandable, however, and, more than expected, really â but it still brought you great distress.
You didnât know where he was and, after having stayed awake the entire night, trying to get ahold of him and waiting for him to return home, you suddenly werenât too sure where you were, either. Your own room felt foreign and the apartment itself lost all of itsâ familiarity.
Finally, at around five in the morning (or, in other words, about five centuries later), your phone rang with a text from Jaebum. You nearly gave yourself whiplash as you leaped from your spot on the bed to reach your phone that youâd left charging across the room.
His text was short and right to the point â he was simply letting you know he was with his friend â but the very fact that he had texted you lifted some of the heaviness off your shoulders. There was plenty more of it still there, though, and you crouched down, hugging your knees to your chest as you re-read Jaebumâs text message another dozen times.
You wanted to call Mark and Jackson to see if he was with them but then you paused. Jaebum obviously needed some space â and time â right now. And, although you felt like heâd left the apartment a long while ago, it was obviously not long enough.
You were dying to explain yourself but you also recognized that he needed to be away from you for a little while longer. The text heâd sent you sparked a new hope that this period of you and him being away from each other wouldnât last long. You just had to endure it without losing your mind completely. The text had to mean that he knew you cared about him â even despite what youâd done â and he didnât want you to crawl out of your skin with worry â even if that was precisely what youâve been doing since heâd left â which, in turn, had to mean that he cared about you, too. But you knew that already â you didnât need his text to show you that; his reaction when you told him about Jiho was proof enough.
Youâd postponed the conversation so you wouldnât hurt Jaebum and, predictably, you ended up doing so anyway.
Giving him some space was the right thing to do now, so you let him be. Until, a few hours later, you couldnât take it anymore. It had started to feel like the more space you were giving him, the more place you left for his doubts to take over him. Soon, there would be no space left in his mind to hear you explain what had happened in the past few weeks.
But, just like before, no matter how much you called or texted, Jaebum didnât answer. Shortly, he turned his phone off altogether. The phone could have died, of course, but still, hearing the operator announce that the person you were trying to reach was unavailable felt very personal. It felt like heâd turned his phone off specifically to avoid seeing your name on his screen.
You knew you called this upon yourself by not telling him earlier but knowing didnât make this easier. If anything, the guilt you were feeling only seemed to magnify whenever you allowed yourself to think about how easily this could have been avoided.
Jaebum didnât return home the whole nightâthis wasnât the first Sunday night youâve spent awake but it certainly was the most significant oneâand, although your heart had already torn itself into the smallest pieces, you resisted and gave him the space he needed. You still called periodically and left as many messages as you could before your service provider got concerned, but you werenât going out of your way to get him to respond to you.
By Monday afternoon, you were really only leaving him voice messages so he'd know that you really did care about him and you were aware of how big of a mistake youâve made by not talking to him about this sooner.
By Monday night, however, youâve started to have auditory hallucinations and lost count of how many times you thought youâd heard the lock of your apartment door click. Choosing to wait until nighttime, in case Jaebum would choose to return home after all, you sat patiently in your kitchen, doing anything and everything to keep your gaze from shifting to the door.
You wondered if Jaebum would have admired your loyalty â heâd have certainly called you clingy and, perhaps, even compared you to a dog waiting for itsâ owner to come home â or if heâd have hated to know that you were still waiting for him to return even after what youâve done. Frankly, you didnât spend all of this time sulking â you got angry a couple of times, too. Sometimes, youâd think you didnât do anything wrong â really, nothing happened between you and Jiho; you were just working on your career in the only way that was possible â but, immediately after, youâd find yourself admitting that this wasnât even the real problem here.
Jaebum didnât really storm out of your apartment just because you were working with Jiho and he hated the guy. He left because you worked with Jiho behind his back, purposefully dodging his questions about your work just so you wouldnât have to admit the truth. Even after giving you a fair amount of openings â not that you needed an excuse to share the events of your day with him, considering your relationship status â you still stayed quiet, choosing vague words and plain silence as a way to answer his questions. It was a form of defense in a way and, consequently, a form of lying.
While you listened to Jaebum give you breakdowns of his day and updates on his career, you did not reciprocate and secretly cherished his carefulness â how many times did you thank God that Jaebum was so understanding and so willing to ignore your unusual behavior? â and that was so much worse than just lying about Jiho to him.
When your alarm clock rang the next morning, you got out of bed with a definite plan â you would seek both Mark and Jackson out to see if Jaebum was staying with either of them and you would do anything in your power to talk to him and explain. You could only give him space to think for so long before you drowned in your own thoughts and watched him to drown in his.
Before you could follow your plan â although, perhaps calling it a plan was generous; you really had no idea what you were going to say to his friends if they even agreed to help you â you still had to get through a full day of work at the gallery.
Having always dreaded to see Jiho there, you didnât really expect today to be any different but a surprise awaited you on your phone when you picked it up to check the time after exiting your car outside of your gallery. It was a text notification from Hyojin, warning you about an article, evidently recounting the photography event you and Jiho had gone to on Friday night. Your stomach sunk before you even opened it, completely disregarding the message your friend wrote before she attached the link.
Instead of reading Jihoâs recap of the event â heâd sworn he would use your pictures for it but you ended up not taking any â you were forced to read through another pile of tabloid-like garbage that, predictably, focused completely on your relationship with Jiho.
Now, on the one hand, the article proved that Jihoâs publicity stunt was a complete success â you nearly suffocated when you saw a picture of yourself leaving the gallery and Jiho storming off after you, an ominous âyoung photographer coupleâ written in the description of the shot; clearly, you and him have been noticed â but, on the other hand, not a single sentence in the entire article even mentioned your aspiration to become a successful photographer.
Not only did the writers â tipped off by Jiho, no doubt â assumed that you and him were together but they also allowed themselves to speculate if, perhaps, you and him were going to be the next big artist-and-his-muse names in the world of photography. They even went as far as to compare you and him to Andy Warhol and Edie Sedgwick â which was right on point, considering that Edie was, really, one of many Warholâs muses â further proving that they didnât even consider you a photographer. At least, not in the literal sense of the word â they saw the camera in your hands and pointed it out in the description of another photograph of you by the entrance to the gallery. But Jiho was âthe photographerâ and, according to the writers, in the relationship hierarchy, you were either Jihoâs apprentice (the writers dismissed the possibility after merely toying with it for a sentence of two) or his muse. Not his colleague. Not a photographer. Barely even a person, really.
Beyond frustrated, you walked through the double doors of the gallery and, before you could toss your phone across the empty foyer, you caught sight of Jiho, talking to someone on the phone next to the staircase. You really considered strangling him for a hot minute but, after taking a few deep breaths, you decided to handle this like an adult â or, as close to one as you could get with your blood boiling and pulse pounding in your ears.
âDid you fucking read this?â you demanded as soon as you reached him, pushing your phone to his face. âThis is the second god-damn time this happens.â
âWhâIâmâl-let me call you back,â Jiho said before hanging up the call and putting his phone away so he could focus on yours. He squinted as he read the headline. âOh, so weâve definitely been seen, huh? Thatâs good.â
âThatâs not good,â you disagreed. âAnd we were not seen at all. You were. I was your shadow if even that. Again!â
Jiho wasnât listening to you as his eyes continued to scan the contents of the article.
âYour little stunt of leaving early worked out nicely, too,â he added in regards to the last bit of the article that recounted, in epic little detail, how you left the event early and Jiho âfollowed right after like a love-sick puppyâ.
âIt wasnâtâJesus, how much money did you pay to get them to write this bullshit?â you asked, retrieving your phone after noticing that it didnât bring the expected result â not that you knew what you were expecting; it was hard to imagine Jiho doing something other than grinning like a deformed jack-o-lantern.
âYou think I paid for this?â Jihoâs eyebrows reached his hairline. âWow, you must think Iâm a millionaire.â
âWhat are you talking about? You knew so many people who were thereââ
âSo, I talked to them,â he said as if that was the most obvious thing in the world. Probably rolled his eyes, too, but you werenât looking at him â you were reading the article and further fueling your anger. âI mean, some damage control had to be done, you caused quite a fuss there. I tried to give the others the impression thatââ
âThis is your fault, then!â you cut him off with a high-pitched shriek that he seemed to flinch away from.
âIâm not sure I understand what Iâm being accused of, here,â he said as calmly as he could. The calmness was a façade, as youâve already learned, and the veins on his neck were becoming more prominent by the second. âWe needed exposure and we got it. Whatâs the problem?â
âWhat kind of exposure is this? You told me this wouldnât seem like a romantic relationship. That they would focus on our professional relation instead of twisting it around to make it seem likeââ
âProfessional relationships donât sell nearly as well asââ
âSell?â you scoffed. âWhat are these people buying, exactly? That youâre a photographer? Well, they knew that already, I would hope. Or youâve surely wasted the past years of your life.â
âRightââ
âThereâs not really much else in there about me. Except that Iâmââ
Seemingly having had enough of your endless tirade, Jiho crossed his arms over his chest, cutting you off, âmaybe if you wanted there to be more descriptions of you, you shouldnât have left early.â
âOh, so they could have taken more pictures of us to strengthen their narrative of us being romantically involved? No. Thatâs not okay,â you shook your head, finding it difficult to voice your thoughts rationally and not start screaming. Screaming would have felt so nice. âThese articles⌠theyâre not helping anyone but you. Next week, they can write one about you and some other âmuseâ youâve brought to a photography event. No one will give a shit about me. I agreed to do this to get myself more exposure as a photographer. Instead, Iâm just a new toy you can play around with to get yourself more well-known.â
âListen, you have this warped sense of how this works,â Jiho said. His patronizing voice made you clench your fists. âThese things take time. You think youâll get popular overnightââ
âDonât tell me what I think!â you yelled, your patience wearing thin.
âOkay, alright. Iâm sorry,â he said, not sounding one bit apologetic. He just felt like he was winning because you were suddenly shouting and he was still successful at resisting to raise his voice. âLetâs not talk about this hereââ
You took a deep breath and closed your eyes for a second or two â purely a precaution so you wouldnât punch him and get yourself fired â even if you were already one step away from quitting â and probably arrested.
âThereâs nothing to talk about,â you said then. âThis is the last article depicting me as someoneâs rumored girlfriend.â
Jiho didnât seem surprised to hear this.
âSee, thatâs good because, actually, Iâm having second thoughts about this, too,â he said, the bitter tone of his voice dripping with arrogance and entitlement. âClearly, youâve got it in your head that youâre in a position to demand an exhibition when youâre virtually nothing in the photography world. You donât listen to a single word I say and you have enough guts to give me ultimatums as if you know how this works better than I do. I donât know who you think you are but this is not how any of this works. All I did was try to help youââ
You thought you could only recall one other instance when you felt this frustrated â and more than ready to either rip all of your hair out or to beat Jiho to a pulp â and that was when you met up with Suji and had to listen to her boast about her happy relationship with Jaebum. My God, what a pair her and Jiho would have made â both bull-headed, arrogant, and so unbelievably thick, it was a miracle theyâve gotten this far in life without getting all of their teeth knocked out.
âThis was no help for me,â you said through clenched teeth and then unlocked your phone to see the headline of the article again. You pointed your phone at him as proof. âThis was all for you.â
âIt was meant to help both of us and the gallery we representââ
âOh, open your fucking eyes, the galleryâs not even mentioned in the article,â you groaned.
Jiho swallowed, an undeniable â and very well-executed â image of someone who felt wronged and disrespected evident on his face.
âThis isnât working,â he stated, then, obviously taking immense pleasure in having the ability to say this. He knew he was above you in this situation and he relished it. âIâve lost count of how many rules listed in the contract youâve broken and yet I closed my eyes, thinking itâd be worth it. I donât really think so anymore. I think youâre too full of senseless pride and Iâm afraid I canât work with that. You told me youâd quit if we didnât host your exhibition and, admittedly, that caught me off-guard and, perhaps, even impressed me. But I can see everything clearly now â youâre absolutely not the sort of artist weâre looking for.â
âWhat sort of artists are you looking for?â you asked, your blood hot and about to pour out of your ears in rapid squirts of burning rage. âPushovers, willing to follow you around like newborn puppies? Fresh, vulnerable university graduates who lack the spine to tell you that what youâre doing is preying on their lack of experience and using them to your own gain?â
âIâm sorry if thatâs how you feel,â Jiho said. âUnfortunately, this partnership is over. Donât worry about the contract anymore. Weâre not going to be hosting yourââ
âOh, good! Perfect!â you shouted before he could finish. âI never wanted to work with you in the first place.â
You turned around, walking away, but Jiho couldnât resist not having the last word. He simply felt too proud to let you leave this easily.
âHopefully youâll continue to feel that way,â he called out after you, âbecause you can forget all about your dream of hosting your own exhibition.â
You didnât want to turn around and say something else because it felt like admitting defeat but you couldnât resist it. Youâve still had a few things youâve always wanted to say to him and now was finally the time to stop holding yourself back.
âFuck you,â you dropped over your shoulder, your expression â finally â calm. âAnd fuck that exhibition. Thatâs not what my dream is.â

Has virgil ever had a break down infront of anyone in the nursing home au. Like freaked out becuse of police sirens outside of the building or on tv or a documetery of prision is played on the luchroom tv when he went to make" fucking mac and cheeseâ˘ď¸" also im sad now cus all i think of is logan dying and then a when romans about to die he tells virgil "i know what my next adventure is. Im going to find Logan. Dont worry ill be fine" and thencloses his eyes to sleep but dosent wake up;-;.
First of all, hello sadness! Loganis the first to go yes, and you can bet your bottom dollar Roman would saysomething along those lines. (Or alternatively, the both of them discover thefountain of youth and never have to die. :D)
As for Virgil, he tries his very hardestnot to show his weaknesses, but sometimesâŚthey just happen. The first time it happens in front of other people at the nursing home is written below the cut.
WARNINGS: in-depth descriptions of a panic attack, ptsd
Nursing Home AU Masterlist
It happens when Virgil is inRemusâs room cleaning up one of his messes.
Remus adamantly disagrees on theterminology of his âmessesâ.
âItâs art! You prudes wouldnât haveany artistic sense if it bit you in the butthole!â
Virgil snorts, âYou could have justleft it with âbuttâ.â
The old man grins, showing off asmile thatâs missing half of its teeth. âBut butthole sounds so much juicier.â
âI will pay you to never say thatagain.â
âThis is payback for destroying mylifeâs work.â
Virgil looks at him with a raisedbrow.
Then he looks pointedly back at thewall that features a giant penis drawn with smeared ketchup.
Virgil has no idea where Remussmuggled this much ketchup into his room.
Patton comes into the room. Heglances at the âartworkâ on the wall and doesnât look the slightest bitsurprised. Someone must have spread the word to him.
Remus doesnât look at all ashameddespite Pattonâs disapproving expression.
âWeâve talk about this,â Pattonadmonishes.
âYou talked, I ignored.â
âRemus. NoâŚphallic imagerydisplayed in the building.â
âTHIS IS HOMOPHOBIC!â Remusscreeches.
Virgil just shakes his head andcontinues wiping down the wall.
For the next couple of minutes helistens to the two of them talk behind him. Patton continues to try to reasonwith Remus, and Remus continues to be unreasonable. Same song and dance asevery day.
But then Remus yells something thatsticks with Virgil.
âThis place is a prison!â hebemoans. âGive me back my freedom, George Washington!â
And itâs kinda funny and Remusâsstyle of random and dramatic, but âŚ
This place is aprison.
Maybe. In some ways.
Like the small cell-like rooms.
Or not being allowed to leave for manyof those who lived here.
Seeing the same faces day in andday out.
Always having eyes on you, watchingeverything you do.
But for the most part?
You didnât have to worry if yourcellmate would strangle you in your sleep.
Or keeping your head down in thecafeteria, because last time you made eye contact with someone they took it asa challenge.
Or choosing to forsake personalhygiene just so you wouldnât leave yourself open to being cornered in theshowers.
The way theyâd size you up quick aspredator or prey, and God help you if they thought of you as the latter.
As scared shitless as Virgil hadbeen, crying into his pillow almost every night because it was always so coldand the thin standard blanket did nothing to fight the chillâŚ
Virgil had never in his life had toact so tough and mean. He learned to spit his words harshly enough to makeothers second guess their assumptions of an easy target. He hissed and bit anyhand that tried to touch him.
Virgil doesnât realize at first, but he has stopped cleaning up Remusâs mess.
His hand lingers, rag pressedagainst the wall until it drags down and lays limply.Â
He stares, and while the beigepaint brings warmth to the room, it somehow fades to the steel gray he had tosee day after day.
Distantly he hears voices behindhim, but they become a muted hum, like the echoes from down the row of cells. He can hear footsteps, the guards pacing up the corridor.
âVirgil?â
A hand on his shoulder.
It burns like acid.
Virgilâs entire body tenses up, alive wire ready to strike but his visionâs gone all tunnel-y and he canât seewhere the enemy is.
âVirgil. Virgil, whatâs wrong?â
âDonât. Touch. Me,â Virgil pushesthe words out with all the effort it takes to move a car out of a muddy bank.
Heâs just now catching on thatmaybe heâs having a panic attack, but that doesnât stop it from happening. Ifanything, it just makes it worse and he struggles to decipher past frompresent. It all muddles together, and he canât move, canât turn his head, canâtstop staring at the grayâbrownâgray wall.
âDonât touch me,â Virgil saysagain, breath kicking into a concerning pace. âDonât touch me, donât touch me,donât ever fucking touch me.â
All at once the hand is gone.
The burn of acid remains.
Patton is at a complete loss.
Virgil was fine just a minute ago.
But then heâd gotten quietâ which wasnâtunlike him, ya know? But he hadnât responded to either of them when spoken todirectly, and that definitely was unlike him.
So Patton tried to get hisattention, thinking maybe heâd been lost in thought.
Heâd never seen Virgilâs eyes sowide and terrified.
And his shoulders, they startedmoving up and down as his breathing shallowed out.
And his wordsâso aggressive thatPatton genuinely believed for a second that Virgil was one second away fromlashing out at him.
Patton keeps his hands to himselfafter that, but he lingers beside Virgil, reluctant to leave him likethisâwhatever this is.
Is he angry at Patton? Upset withwhat they were talking about? Patton begs Virgil to tell him whatâs going on,but itâs like Virgil canât even hear him.
âJust keep talking to him,â Remussuggests.
âItâs not working though,â Pattonsays, voice dripping with worry. Virgilâs really starting to edge towardshyperventilating. An allergic reaction? But Virgil has never mentionedâand hehasnât eaten anything recentlyâ
âWhatâs going on here?â Dee asks, poking his head in.
Virgil can hear him at the doorway, kind of like in an out of body sort of way.
Heâs never had a freak out this badaround themâhad been so proud of himself for making it this long.
Now their eyes are on him, andVirgil feels their pinprick gazes stabbing into the back of his neck. The panicramps up another couple of notches.
Patton looks pleadingly at Dee.âHeâsâheâs having some kind of attack. I donât know what happened.â
âOh shit,â Dee says eloquently.
For all that Dee oozes confidenceand spins pretty words, comforting an emotionally distressed rival is kinda outof his range of specialties. He stands there, slack-jawed and hesitating.
That wonât do at all.
âJust fucking talk to him,â Remussays bitingly and gets up from his bed.
He ambles over to Virgil and pullsa chair up close enough to him but far away enough to not startle him.
Virgil startles anyway.
âWhatever youâre seeing, kid, itâsnot real,â Remus tells him. His eyes are bright and mad and clever. âThey wantyou to think itâs real, and yeah okay, it was real at some point, wasnât it? Butitâs not anymore. Youâre not there. Itâs over. You can come out now.â
It takes a minute, and Virgilshudders, and tears are streaming down his face.
But heâs listening.
Remus leans forward, elbows proppedon his knees. âYouâre safe now. They already did the hurting. So tell them togo fuck themselves. They donât get to touch you anymore.â
Virgil slows to a calm.
He feels numb.
Drained.
But the walls have stopped crushinghim and he can breathe again.
âBetter?â Patton asks from theother side of him. He never left his side for a moment.
Virgil nods jerkily, unable to talkat the moment.
âNeed anything? Water? Anything?â
Virgil takes too long to think, thoughts sluggish.
âLetâs go talk to Logan!â Remusblurts out.
He hops out of his chair andmotions for Virgil to stand. Noticeably, he doesnât try touching Virgil. Heholds out his hand in offer if Virgil needs help standing up.
âHis nerdy talk can bore you rightto sleep. Letâs go, Emo. Upsy-daisy.â
Virgil takes his hand and stands.
He hesitates, gesturing at the wallas if to say, âBut I still need to clean it up.â
Remus waves his concern off. âDonâtworry about that. Dee will clean it up. Dee loves cleaning up mymesses.â
Dee gives him a dark look butdoesnât say anything. He stands aside and lets the two of them leave the room,Remus guiding a quiet Virgil by the hand.
Patton remains, though he staresafter them. âIâm still not sure what happened. He was fine and then ⌠Iguess something must have triggered it.â
Dee shrugs, rubbing his glovedhands together self-consciously. âEveryone has their own demons.â
And when Remus had seen Virgildescend into the madness of memory, like had recognized like.
