Viktor loves the Undercity...in theory. Viktor loves humanity, in theory. Viktor is a pacifist in theory. But when you look at how Viktor actually interacts with the world around him, he displays a level of detachment & general disregard that runs counter to those ideals. Viktor is a character whose principles are out of sync with his actual feelings & natural inclinations. And that's something I love about him! I find it fascinating, & very human.
Viktor does genuinely want to help the Undercity, but his idea of what that "help" can look like is abstract at best; Viktor has, as far as we can tell, no lasting ties to Zaun. By the start of Arcane, he doesn't seem to know anyone who currently lives in the Undercity besides Singed, who originated in Piltover. There's no real evidence that he returned to the Undercity even once in the years between becoming an Academy student & visiting Singed in Season 1 (although to be absolutely fair, there's no evidence that he didn't return to the Undercity, either. We know so little about most of Viktor's life that we can't really make that call one way or the other.) He wants to help, he really does—but when given the tools to help, he & Jayce made a lazer gun & mechanized hulk hands. Viktor has a very real love for humanity & need to see the world a better place. But prior to Sky's death, the literal only person who Viktor seemed to really & truly care about on a personal level is Jayce. Not out of any misanthropy or hatred, but again, out of a baseline level of detachment & distance that probably warped Viktor's idea of what "better lives" would look like.
Now, to be fair, this didn't come out of nowhere. Like many things in Viktor's life, his detachment from the people & place(s) he cares about is a positive feedback loop. Viktor is othered & isolated as a child in Zaun due to his disability, so as an adult he has no lasting personal connections to Zaun, & therefore continues to be isolated from the people of Zaun. Viktor is doubly isolated in Piltover due to both his disability & social class/ethnicity, so he builds no lasting connections with anyone prior to meeting Jayce; he feels that he is incapable of building lasting connections with anyone other than Jayce (I'm assuming, the show is never actually up front about this tbh), & continues to be isolated from anyone other than Jayce. Viktor had no social power as either a child in Zaun or as a student in Piltover, so he internalizes the idea that he has no social power & continues to move as if he doesn't even when he accrues some status & social capital, & therefore doesn't make any moves that would require social power. That is, until he acquires physical power in Season 2 after being fused with the Hexcore. (Again, for the sake of fairness: it isn't a lie to say that whatever power he might've had as Heimerdinger's assistant or a co-creator & co-owner of Hextech was extremely limited by, again, his disability & his class/ethnicity. Social capital only works if people are either willing to listen to you or if you can force them to listen to you. Based on how even people he's personally acquainted with like Heimerdinger or Mel never really listened to him, it's not a stretch to assume that most people in Piltover wouldn't listen either no matter how much sway he should technically have.)
And this is a tangent I know, but this attitude absolutely extends into his relationship with Jayce. We the audience know that Viktor has an increase amount of sway over Jayce's thoughts, feelings & actions. But Viktor doesn't realize that, so he never really exercises it until it's too late. And then as the mage, Viktor is basically running the same trolley problem simulation over & over & over again (letting Jayce & Ximena die in the snow but automatically saving that world from the scourge of Hextech vs saving Jayce & Ximena but setting yet another world on fire.) And he chooses more personal, more selfish option every single time, because ultimately Viktor loves Jayce & the less-than-a-decade they spent together a bit more than he wants to stop himself from ending the world.
Viktor's altruistic ideals are real & genuine on his part. But Viktor is also a bit more selfish than he wants to be, than he thinks he is.
I think the fact that Viktor and Sky were never close says a lot about Viktor. Before I get started this isn't about any potential romantic relationship that could have happened between Sky and Viktor. It's just fascinating that he and Sky were as far the audience knew, the only Zaunites to work in this hyperelite space in Piltover... and they didn't get to know each other. No moments of peer to peer solidarity? No small talk to mention family or trade stories from the weekend? Sky worked for him and didn't know where to discard her ashes despite coming from the same place and likely having her address on file.
If we have to put Sky and Viktor's relationship in context of the greater story of Arcane, it represents Viktor's relationship with Zaun and its populace, which is both nonexistent and largely theoretical. Viktor has a deep well of empathy, but uses it ineffectively, even when he is in a position to help... he invents mining tools (not even an air purifier for a place like that). He gets it, but somehow he doesn't get it.
Viktor's most significant on screen relationships are with other Piltovans like Jayce, Singed, and even Heimerdinger. Despite the prejudice he faces in Piltover, Viktor has the most legitimate political influence out of the entire Zaunite cast. The way Viktor was Heimerdinger's assistant is not the same way Sky was his assistant. Heimerdinger was Head of the Council and President of the Academy and Viktor was tasked with carrying out his assignments with limited authority, technically that makes him a high ranking government aide. Could Sky or Ekko or Silco (without blackmail) talk to the Sheriff the way Viktor could? Viktor's even best friends with a Councilor (Jayce) after the timeskip, and he does NOTHING with that to lobby for Zaun.
By the end Viktor's very ridiculous and overly complicated plan gets even more Zaunites killed, including Sky a second time. He solved nothing, killed hundreds, and apologized to no one, including Sky's family. Maybe the Academy was a mistake all along.

Batfam au angst :) also leading into (platonic) yandere batfam
What if Jason wasn't the first kid to die :)
And what if Damian wasn't Bruce's only biological kid :)
Au idea I'm simple terms: what if Bruce had a daughter in his early years of batman, who went missing and dead, but then years later reappeared and was found again, Bruce and the others won't make the same mistake twice.
Author's note before reading: Please keep in mind I'm new to this fandom, so I don't know much about what's canon. I simply get creative ideas really easily and have decided to share them.
If anyone else likes this idea, feel free to rewrite or add onto the concept, if you do please tag me I'd love to see what others do with this concept
I'm picturing reader to be the same age as or potentially slightly younger than Damian, but no specific ages are mentioned
Damian POV:
It was a day like any other, awful, Damian had to go to school. He didn't hate school, just the people there, loud, annoying, nosy.
He went about his day the same as always, reading in class and working on his work, until suddenly the principle came to class abruptly saying they had a new student, which the teacher promptly assigned to sit next to Damian. Great.
The teacher also informed him that he would be the one to show this new student around. So Damian braced himself for the extra annoying questions about him and his family, after all that's what people always want to know.
But to his suprised? This girl didn't care about any of that, simply asking questions about the class and school. She didn't even ask if he was really a Wayne, she looked a bit suprised but it wasn't the usual suprise most people had, and she didn't ask him any questions about it so it didn't matter.
As he showed her around he found out that they had the same classes, he heard her sigh of relief, but when questioned she said she was glad because it ment she wouldn't be alone in any of her classes and she'd have someone to turn to.
As the day went on they would go to class and work on classwork, it seems his new classmate was a lot smarter than the rest of them and he didn't have to constantly help her with work.
At the end of the day he made a mental note of a new acquaintance.
Later that day
"Ah, Master Damian, welcome back. How was your day at school?" Alfred asked, greeting the young boy
"It was alright Pennyworth, we had a transfer student today, but she seemed to be quite intelligent unlike the rest of those peasants" Damian replied
"Oh? A transfer student? In the middle of the school year? How odd."
"Yeah, I'll keep an eye out for any suspicious behavior, but there wasn't anything out of the ordinary, her name is Y/n." Damian said, but after saying her name he noticed Alfred looked pale
"Pennyworth? Are you feeling ill? Do I need to inform father?" Damian asked
"No no, I'm quite alright, it's just, I... used to know someone with that name, so I was suprised to hear it. That's all." Alfred replied, but he still looked pale
"If you say so. I'm going to head to my room and work on schoolwork before it's time for patrol" Damian said, and he was gone without another word
Alfred's POV:
'Calm yourself Alfred. It's a normal name that anyone could have, besides, it's been 20 years. Even if it was her she wouldn't be part of the young masters class. Still... I should inform Master Bruce, incase he mentions this classmate' Alfred thinks to himself before heading to the batcave.
There he finds both Bruce and Tim, working on the computer, searching for sightings of criminal activity, recently rumors of a new villain with unknown powers had started to arise, so it was the batman's job to keep Gotham safe
"Ahem, apologies for interrupting, but I need to borrow Master Bruce for a moment" Alfred says
"Did something happen Alfred?" Bruce asks
"No, not necessarily, it's nothing serious but we need to talk" Alfred replies
Bruce gets up and follows Alfred out of the room
"What is it Alfred? You look like you've seen a ghost." Bruce states
"Apologies Sir, as I said, it's nothing serious, however Damian informed me of a new classmate at school today" Alfred starts
"In the middle of the year?" Bruce comments
"That's what I said, however that isn't the point, I simply wanted to let you know before hand, incase the young master mentions this classmate infront of you.." Alfred pauses
"That's it? Why would you need to inform me of that" Bruce asks confused
"Well you see. He said that her name was... Y/n" Alfred states, and Bruce becomes just as pale as he is
"I see.... did Damian tell you anything else about this.... classmate?" Bruce asks
"No, he did not. But simply stated he'd keep an eye out for anything suspicious." Alfred said
"I understand." Bruce said with a deep sigh
"Are you alright Master Bruce? I know it's been a long time but-"
"I'm fine Alfred. I just... I'm fine. I need to head back to work now, we still don't know what this new villain is capable of, or what they're after." Bruce says, turning away
"Alright sir, if you insist. Please take care of yourself."
Alfred says, but he knows how Bruce is
The patrol went on as normal, and so did school. Nothing particularly interesting happened it was a week like any other, Damian and y/n would work on schoolwork together during breaks, since y/n joined late she had a lot of work to catch up on but she didn't have much trouble and Damian helped her when she did. The two had even become friends, turns out they had a lot in common, and some classmates tried to joke about how they were like siblings, but the two didn't mind. The jokes did make Damian aware of how... familiar y/n looked. He pondered the idea of her being a child from a one night stand, but the timelines didn't match up so he brushed the thought away, thinking it was a coincidence that she looked so much like Bruce. But nothing out of the ordinary happened of note, not until one fateful patrol where Damian made a discovery
Y/n POV:
Y/n didn't know where to go after waking up again, it was clear so many things have changed, and her dad taught her well. She needed more information before she made any decisions.
Unfortunately this ment she had no place to stay. After all, she couldn't go to an orphanage, she wasn't an orphan and she didn't have any documents or a story on where she came from. She knew better than to go to the police, what would she even say to them? So here she was. Sitting under a bridge hoping she won't get sick. But she was strong, she'd do what she'd have to in order to understand the situation better. Even if that means sleeping under a bridge like a troll, even if it means only eating the food provided by the school, even if it means-
"Hello there. Are you alright?" A voice asked making her jump
She turns to see, some sort of vigilante. She had heard in passing about how her dad Batman wasn't the only vigilante in Gotham anymore, so she figured it was one of them
"Oh um, I'm alright" she replied, she hadn't planned to meet any of them, she knew she might meet batman, which she kind of hoped for because then she could get some answers, but this was new territory this was- wait a minute why does he kind of look like Damian?
"Are you sure? Your sitting underneath a bridge at night, kids shouldn't be out here like this you could get hurt. Or worse. Why aren't you with your parents?" The vigilante (Damian) said, after recognizing his classmate, assessing the situation
"It's... complicated" y/n replies, before wondering how much she should tell him "I... can't really talk about it, but I can't go back home.. not yet at least, and I don't have anywhere else to go, so I've just been here" she states, hoping she didn't say to much
The vigilante just stays there for a moment, not saying anything, and she wonders if she said to much or if he thinks she's a criminal
"I see. In any case, you shouldn't be out here alone, the streets of Gotham aren't safe, however if you insist on staying out here may I suggest somewhere that isn't so easily spotted? You wouldn't want to be attacked. I know a few places that are safer than.. this" The vigilante says offering a hand
"Oh, uhm" y/n thinks for a moment, weighing her options "I'll take you up on that offer, it's not great down here" y/n replies, taking his hand
The two go to a more remote, slightly cleaner area
"Here we are, even if it's temporary this would be a better place for a shelter than where you were before. I don't know what's going on, but if you need assistance, im willing to help" the vigilante replies
"Thank you, you've really been more than enough help and I appreciate it a lot. If I need anything il let you know....."
"... Robin. My name is Robin." Robin says, noticing her pause
"Robin... thank you for the help, good luck with the rest of your patrol" y/n says
"Of course, you be careful now, always keep an eye out." Robin says, before leaving
'Phew.... he's gone. That was definitely him, and he definitely recognized me. Now what. He didn't say anything so they're definitely still doing the secret identity thing. I guess I'll just have to play it cool and hope he doesn't say anything at school. If any of the teachers find out I'm definitely gonna get investigated and then my whole plan will be thrown out the window.' Y/n thinks to herself 'Maybe this is a good thing, if he's Robin, it's likely that dad's still Batman too, which means I might run into him. What if he doesn't recognized me? What if he does recognize me?? What if- what if he didn't miss me.... no, no! This is dad, of course he missed me but it's been... so long... what do I do if he doesn't want me back...' y/n starts to worry about before she falls to the floor and starts to cry
Which, unbeknownst to her, Damian saw, he doesn't know why she's crying or why it makes him feel so... protective but he knows somethings up, so he goes off and reports what he knows to Batman
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aaaaand cliffhanger! Mwahahahaha
I would have kept going, and I know exactly what's coming next, but I've been typing for awhile and I have no idea how long this post is, and I don't want it to be too long
So I'm stopping it there,
This wasn't supposed to be this much but my creative brain decided to run with this idea, so there's gonna be a part 2 soon
Also I've decided to call this au
Batman Dead Daughter Au
Because.... idk what else to call it and if I'm gonna make a part 2 and potentially more depending on how this goes, I'm gonna need something to refer to it with.
As I said before, I'm extremely new to the batman stuff
Pretty much all of my knowledge comes from youtube and tumblr, so bare with me if things are out of character
I've also never written fanfiction before, it's always just been in my head, so the writing is probably a bit funny
Yes I'm a writer in the making but I haven't actually gotten to the writing part
And fanfiction is a bit different
Hope yall like the concept tho
Again, feel free to write your own version of this if you want to, just tag me so I can read it too lol
Saw this post and had a good laugh, but I also want to break this down. Call this my Deanior thesis.
Tumblr media
Throughout the show, we see Dean make a lot of compromised decisions and react in a lot of different ways. However, one thing remains true all of the time:
Dean is afraid.
✨ Let me elaborate.
When you really think about who Dean is fundamentally and what principles guide him in making the choices he does, you'll find that he's very transparent with his priorities. First and foremost, he wants his brother to be safe, and he will go to great lengths to achieve that (including giving his own life, sacrificing himself in some way, or even going as far as refusing Sam his bodily autonomy just to save him).
Tumblr media
But consider it: Dean's perfect world is one where he can save lives and not have to worry about Sam. Sam is such an integral part of his personality, and the result of this is that he tanks 95% of his time into ensuring that his little brother is okay.
However, due to the nature of their job, he often fails at protecting Sam and then ends up making shit so much worse for him. The nature of the job is that Sam will never be safe, so, by proxy, Dean will never rest.
Tumblr media
This is such an important plot point and something that reinforces some of my favorite headcanons of all time. For example, I believe that Dean doesn't actually want to hunt forever, and he'd settle down with Sam in a heartbeat if he thought that's what Sam wanted, too. Look at when he's most happy: when Sam is content and safe and has the things he wants.
Tumblr media
I hear these questions circulate over and over: Why does Dean act the way he does? Why would he make the terrible choices he makes? The answer is that he's afraid. He's fucking terrified. There's no security in what he does. Everyday he fears losing his loved ones. He carries the literal weight of the world on his shoulders (see how he internalizes John's warning of 'People are dying' by turning it into his own slogan), and he gets no reprieve. This causes him to go to extremes to protect his support system.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
All that he does, he does to bring honor and respect and safety and stability to his family (My favorite example of this being how much time he invests in his car, which was entrusted to him by John, and Dean views that vehicle as an extension of his father, like he's responsible for it in the same way he's always been responsible for his family. This is something he reverts back to in crisis.), but what holds him back time after time is crippling anxiety.
Tumblr media
Dean functions on a spectrum of crisis at all times, whether minor or major (but always a crisis, regardless, at least for the average person). He self-medicates with liquor to numb and sedate himself after living through extreme horror and tragedy, and it's also the only time he'll indulge in pleasures for himself (women/getting laid), but other than that? He's not overly hedonistic or abrasive. He's obsessive. Like a helicopter parent. He's overbearing and fussy and needs constant reassurance, and he's in the worst possible line of work for that type of thinking. He's constantly overextended and emotional beyond belief, making any kind of discussion of his problems or feelings overwhelming and unrealistic — not because he's "too manly" (although, this is the facade he uses). He shuts down because it's the only way he can grapple with the intense trauma he goes through on a daily basis (traumas he's been enduring his entire life). He ignores it or represses it because acknowledging it only makes it all the more crippling.
Tumblr media
Because of this and because of who Dean is, I find it endearing when Dean gets compared to his father. To me, this man is not like John at all (no matter how badly he wants to be, haha). He's nowhere near strong enough. Sam wants the entire box of Lucky Charms before Dean has had a bowl? Okay, Sammy. You can have it. Whereas John would have tutted at Sam and made him eat the spaghettios, teaching him some hard lesson about not getting the things you want just because you're passionate about them.
Tumblr media
Dean, my beloved, who tightens his robe and demands to speak to Sam in the other room like he's about to bicker so hard that Sam's ears fall off. That's the Dean I know.
Tumblr media
Now, I understand that Dean is an older brother who was made responsible for his brother at a young age WHICH HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE PROBLEMATIC (and I do love when it is made problematic in fiction hehehe).
I see a lot of good evidence that Sam has several unhealthy coping mechanisms that revolve around him offering himself up like a punching bag, ever the Christ figure. And while, yes, I agree, I don’t think that's his goal when interacting with Dean.
People will point out how he self-sacrificially offers himself up to Dean as a means to try to get him to relax. The popular interpretation here is that Sam knows that Dean takes pleasure or solace in hurting him, and Sam was raised to take beatings from his big brother and has grown to like it to some extent, like a victim of Stockholm Syndrome. Although this is a unique and thought-provoking case to build, I'm not sure it fits into the way these characters are canonized.
When I see Sam tell Dean, "You want to take another swing? Go ahead if it'll help," I see his brattiness, a challenge and test. It's little brother Sam, rolling his eyes and huffing under his breath, muttering, Jfc, Dean, will you calm down? What do you need? Need to blow off some steam? Because holy shit. I can take a shiner if it means you'll STFU. This is a strong and assured Sam, a cocky and certain one that tests his brother and even mocks him to an extent, knowing Dean is blowing things out of proportion and needs to step back and do something to ground himself.
Tumblr media
In addition to this, a lot of people note how Sam's whole demeanor changes in later seasons. As far as Sam getting more and more shy and drawn into himself and apprehensive and reclusive in later seasons, I 100% blame Lucifer and the horrors™ of the life. Dean is not part of the problem here. Sam can't always trust Dean, and there are several instances of him feeling betrayed, but the root of betrayal is hurt (not fear), and Dean has the capacity to hurt Sam unlike others can because of how deeply they rely on each other.
Tumblr media
But Dean pointblank putting Sam in immediate danger? Purposefully going out of his way to hurt Sam? I doubt it. Dean is harmless. Sam is bigger than him, has been training with him since they were kids. Sam is not some helpless little boy. He's not distressed and abused. He challenges and mocks Dean constantly anytime he tries to bring up the fact that he has seniority or that he's better at certain things because he's older.
Tumblr media
I consider overall how Sam treats Dean, how he talks to him. Does Sam worship the ground Dean walks on? Does he revere him and step on egg shells to appease him? LOL, NO. Sam goes away to Stanford and still cops an attitude when Dean shows back up asking for a favor (This is not to shit on Sam. We love a healthy boy setting boundaries. But. I mean, Dean had to beg him. This goes to show Sam has no problem rejecting Dean and/or standing up for himself.).
Some of the strongest evidence I see of this in the series is when Sam has a moment of maturity and gets a snippet of an idea of just how much Dean sacrificed for him.
Tumblr media
Sam has legitimately no idea how many sacrifices Dean made for him, has no idea that Dean spent his entire childhood being solely responsible for Sam. HEAR ME OUT, GUYS: SAM IS A SPOILED LITTLE BITCH AND THIS IS GOOD! THIS IS REALLY GOOD! DEAN DID A GOOD JOB BECAUSE, OUT OF ALL THE EVIL IN THE WORLD, SAM ISN'T SCARED, AND HE DEFINITELY ISN'T SCARED OF DEAN.
So, whereas I like to explore the toxic codependency of two brothers, I struggle to see an imbalance in their dynamic. Dean and Sam are each other's safe spaces. If anyone, Dean blow things out of proportion (see: "Red Meat" lol). Like. Dean is insane to Sam always, but Sam gets it. That's just his overbearing, clingy mother. 🩷
In summation, Dean would have benefitted from anxiety meds, but furthermore, he'd be a completely different character if he had a stable home and a Sammy that stayed close by to him. Still codependent to an unreal extent but happier.
surprise post bc my blogs fixed woo hoo!! i initially sent this as an ask to @hanasnx as my contribution to his baby daddy!jason au, but i also wanted to share it here for u guys as a little treat :p
Baby Daddy!Jason, who you co-parent with, in a very civilized way. No joke, the picture of camaraderie between exes. He takes your daughter on the days he's supposed to (which isn't that often, given his occupation) and brings her back on time, always with a little gift for you as well. Flowers, chocolates, a little knick-knack reminiscent of when you were together. It's not because he's in love with you or anything; it's just the principle of the matter. "Happy wife, happy life," not that you were married or even dating, but he figures the mother of his child should get love sometimes.
Baby Daddy!Jason, who, the next time he sees you, it's to drop off something your daughter forgot with him, and as he's handing you the bag, he casually asks why you haven't been asking him to take her more often. You had been for a while when you were going on dates weekly, but for some reason, the relationships never went anywhere, so you just gave up. "Oh, you know, it just wasn't working out." you say off-handedly, "Kept getting ghosted." you sound only marginally disappointed, moreso annoyed. "What a shame, they're really missing out," he says, getting real close to you and taking up your entire field of vision.
Baby Daddy!Jason, who's got your entire calendar memorized and knows that his daughter's not home tonight and that you've got no plans other than watching movies in solitude. He knows you're too stubborn to call him over for company even though you've been giving him fuck me eyes in passing for the past few months, so he figures he just has to take matters into his own hands and corner you until you give in like he knows you want to.
Baby Daddy!Jason, who fucks you on damn near every surface in the house, telling you he's just christening the place like he would've already done if you lived together. Whispers apologies in your ears about scaring off all of your dates while he's splitting you open, bullying his cock into you while your eyes roll to the back of your head because you haven't been fucked this good in years, not since the last time you'd been with him. You're face is deep in some pillows when you realize the memories you had of his dick pale in comparison to the real thing, and you aren't sure you could go back to using your imagination to get off after tonight.
Baby Daddy!Jason, who keeps you up all night until your pussy's red and puffy from how many times it'd come in contact with his hips while he was fucking you. Fat tip kissing your cervix until you were clawing at his biceps, begging him to give you some reprieve, tears in your eyes while you babbled incoherently, too lost in the feeling of him to make any sense. He admits in the midst of sex that he tried to get over you; he really did, but he just couldn't; he just couldn't picture you with another man in any capacity. The thought of someone else touching you, fucking you, loving you, made his stomach turn, filling him with rage and an overwhelming need to claim you as his.
Baby Daddy!Jason, who's a level-headed, non-fragile ego'd man until it comes to his family, which, contrary to what some would say, did not only consist of his daughter but you too, and any guy who tried to get with you was a threat. he didn't know the intentions of other men, but he knew his own, which was to keep his little family happy as long as he was alive. If that meant putting a gun to the head of anyone who made a move on you and consoling you by stretching you out the way he knew you liked until you just said "fuck it" and let him put another baby in you, then so be it.
man...it's gotta suck to be jc
#just thinking about how the core loss for jc was an act of violence towards him in his destroyed and conquered home#vs. the willing sacrifice wwx made with caring people around him#wwx like. he suffered from more things and he he lost so much#but he had autonomy in this key way that jc didn't#and jc was kept in the dark for decades#and it just made him feel weaker and more inept and foolish#even tho thats never what wwx intended#and wwx had regrets but his actions mattered and he saved lives and he came out of it with his principles intact#and that's really important to him. and jc just doesn't have that. he rebuilt the jiang sect so what?#his parents are dead. his sister is dead. brother is estranged#jc is feared but not especially liked. he has no friends. nothing to stand for#jl is like all he's got. ofc he has a lot of political power but that never seemed to translate to any autonomy for himself#besides being angry and violent with no check on his behavior which is NOT good for him#like. he needs SOMETHING you know? he has this position and he deosn't even use it to like#find hobbies or build connections with people#he's really just so sad#and wwx despite his circumstances and the impossible choices he had to make and his relentless traumas#he had a ton of loved ones he had a purpose he had a sense of pride in himself etc.#with the right support wwx really will be okay but I think jc is just doomed by his own immaturity#and inability to communicate and anger issues and his HELPLESSNESS#he feels helpless all the time! it's part of why he's so aggressive and loud. he wants to feel in control and he doesn't know how else#cql txp
omg YES PLS WRITE SOMETHING LIKE THAT IDC HOW IMMORAL IT SOUNDS ILL EAT IT UP
don’t cheat obviously. but send me fictitious cheating scenarios 😋 the dirtier, nastier and more taboo, the better.
warnings: infidelity, creampie.
-
“You’re crazy.”
“Crazy for you, yeah.”
Sunghoon’s mouth attaches to your nipple and doesn’t stop his dick from pushing in and out of your wet, swollen pussy. His hair is a mess the more you rake your fingers through his strands to keep his head level with your breasts for him to suck on. The soft purple love bites around your nipples decorate your skin like artwork.
“What’s crazy is leaving your girlfriend alone just because I said I was horny.”
“You requested a second hotel key and gave it to me for a reason.” He pushes his cock until it’s buried so deep inside of your cunt and catches your body when you arch up into his, moving his face between your tits until they bounce against his face. “I know you want this just as much as I do.”
The blanket that attempted to conceal your dirty affair in has long since fallen off of Sunghoon’s back. With your legs spread impossibly wide and pussy wet and presented in front of him, it was hard to keep him from fucking into you as if his dick was a magnet being pulled into your body.
“I’ll never stop fucking your pussy,” Sunghoon promises when he puts your body down on the bed and resumes his deep, slow thrusts. “Doesn’t matter if my girlfriend’s around or not. You call me when you need to be fucked and I’ll do it for you.”
“You make me so wet.” Your desperate confession makes Sunghoon’s balls clench and he nips at your skin when he pulls one leg against his body to caress.
Your friends are all in their respective hotel rooms none the wiser, although neither of you really care if they found out. They all like you better than his girlfriend on the sheer principle that you’re their friend and she’s never made more than a single attempt to befriend them either. But even so, it’s not like Sunghoon would ever stop pining after you, girlfriend be damned. Even if that relationship was expected of him, and even if he had feelings for her for a brief period of time, none of that will ever compare to how he feels when he’s with you.
Sunghoon’s perfectly chiseled body stands in all of his glory when he picks up his body from yours. The sweat coating his skin makes him look like a Greek God and your pussy clenches around him, causing Sunghoon to look down at where the two of you connect. He flicks your clit with his thumb and you moan straight into the air as your body arches.
“Yeahhhh. What a good fucking pussy. So tight and perfect. It’s my favorite.”
Sunghoon bucks his hips faster and rubs your sensitive nub harshly. It makes you cum immediately. “Fuck me, Hoonie! Fuck me, fuck me!”
The bed squeaks loudly beneath the two of you as his hips jolt the springs below and the sound of the wooden headboard banging the walls feels like something straight out of a porn scene. Sunghoon imagines what might happen if his girlfriend were to walk in on him fucking you with such passion and determination to make you cum as many times as you possibly can, and the thought of her standing in the doorway as he pounds into your tight hole brings him closer to the edge.
“I’d make her watch,” he says as he breaks the silence. He keeps his vigorous pace. “I’d fuck your pussy full of my cum but all she’d do is watch me do it.”
“Yes, fuck!”
“Shit—here it comes.”
Sunghoon pulls himself out until only his tip remains and watches the way his dick pulses as his cum exits his body, pumping you with everything he has to offer. It seeps from around him the more he releases and he can’t help but admire the beautiful mess the two of you have created between your bodies.
He pulls out when he’s finished, squeezing the last few droplets right over your creamy folds before letting his balls rest against them. They’re so warm and smooth on top of your clit and the way he continues to jerk his cock despite finishing makes them bounce deliciously against your pussy.
Slice of Italy
Tumblr media
After an accident outside a local Italian restaurant, Jonathan finds himself itching to hop in the kitchen himself.
Bear TF with all that implies! In other news I think I'm going to go down to one story a week, been spending a little too much energy here. May open commissions if there is an interest there? Who knows! At any rate, enjoy this story! -Occam
Tumblr media
It wasn’t even Jonathan’s fault the statue was broken. His clearly too drunk friends were jacking around and not listening to his voice of reason. The poor DD was just standing closest when it was inevitably knocked over and shattered. If he had followed their lead and fled, it’s likely they’d all be off scot-free, but his need to atone for his friend’s actions in whatever paltry way he could led him to start gathering the scattered pieces.
Hearing the shattering plaster, the hostess runs outside with a gasp as she takes in the scene. She stares in shock at Jonathan before retreating inside to surely grab someone more important. Jonathan is again left with the all too desirable option of flight, staring at pieces of the stereotypical Italian chef he sighs and keeps to his principles, slowly picking up pieces.
Really he did them a favor, he’s always hated the thing. Creepy little thing. He’s been coming here all his life and it’s always seemed like the eyes have followed him. Seeing them lifeless and cracked on the ground doesn’t make them any less eerie though. Nor does the disembodied plaster smirk lying askew to their side. Before he can shudder Jonathan jumps as the door to the restaurant slams open and out comes a burly manager, “Ah c’mon kid, now why’d ya go and do that?”
Jonathan drops the shards of the statue he still held in shock as he stammers to explain that really he’s not at fault. Never especially good at doing anything but ceding ground to authority figures he immediately folds, “I well, um it wasn’t really my fault um. It was, uh- I’ll do whatever I can to make this right. I-” Looking in the young man’s eyes the manager sighs and waves him off, “No no kid don’t you- Accident’s happen. Hmph Cavallo loved that statue though hah!” There’s a sadness in his eyes as he looks at the shattered man once more before returning his gaze to Johnathan with a squint.
“You’re the youngest Clark boy eh?” Correct, though now well an adult, there remains a tinge of irritation any time it’s brought up that he will always be the youngest, the smallest, no matter how long time treks onward. Still, not the time, “Yes sir.” The manager scratches the back of his head and motions the younger man inside, “Why don’t you come in, I’ll have one of my hosts sweep up the mess later.” Jonathan furrows his brow as he’s ushered inside, any attempts he makes at offering his hand to do the dirty work are met with hems and haws from the manager as he is instead led into an office in the back of house.
“You just sit here Jonny and I’ll uh- Hm?” He pauses and looks at Jonathan, no, past Jonathan. As if he’s staring through the young man and seeing something beyond. Something different. Seconds pass and a pit grows in Jonathan’s stomach as the manager twitches soundlessly, wanting the moment to pass he calls out to the man, “Romeo? You alright?”
Focus returns to the manager’s eyes and he laughs, “Hah! Of course, sorry about that sir! You just let me know if you need anything Mr. Clark.” With that he does a nod and closes the door behind himself, there’s the click of a lock but Jonathan doesn’t notice as he instead hones in on the fact that he just called the manager by his name.
He racks his mind to remember if he introduced himself, the manager did recognize him after all? Perhaps they’ve met before. He chews on the idea and tries to ignore the feeling of pulling the man’s name from some place in his mind he doesn’t have access to. Maybe he was wearing a name tag. Of course, with a sigh of relief tension fades from his chest before he even realizes how tight it had become from anxiety. He has all employees wear name tags after all, helps the customers feel at home.
After a second of rest he is struck with the implications of that flitting thought. He what!? Tightness in his chest returns with a furor as memories or meetings with teams of people he doesn’t recognize flash through his mind. Planning a culture, running shifts, designing a restaurant. Clutching at his chest with one hand and his head with the other Jonathan worries he’s losing it and goes to sit down. Reflexively opting for the cushy desk chair behind the desk rather than either of the two by the door. “God it was just a tacky statue, why am I having an episode about this!?”
Sitting in the boss’ chair Jonathan finds himself growing unreasonably warm. Sweat drips from his brow as he tries to bring to mind strategies one would use to soothe a panic attack. Looking for something solid in the room to focus on Jonathan sees a photo of the owner standing next to the gaudy statue. Grimacing, through grinding teeth he grunts out a “not helpful.” Even less helpful is the ensuing migraine, as it pangs he blinks concertedly and upon reopening his eyes he finds the image has shifted to one of himself standing next to the statue, a too large smile plastered on his face just like that of the god-awful statue. Somewhere repressed within him the phrase ‘happiest day of my life’ pings, though his conscious mind resounds with an image of his college graduation.
Clearly unable to find peace in this room he fights against his perpetually pliant instincts and stands to leave despite Romeo’s request. Now standing, he realizes something bizarre has seemingly begun to happen to his body. It’s like he’s bloated? Looking down he sees buttons on his shirt suddenly straining. His indisputably slim waist has begun to expand. The sensation of being starved and sated paradoxically rise at once within Gionathan as he feels the sudden urge, an otherworldly need to burp. He chokes it down at first but as his waist continues to strain, now revealing skin in between buttons as his chest too begins to bulge he is unable to stop the rising gas.
Polite young man he is, even as it erupts he tries to at least quiet his burp, which only causes it to burst with more force. Louder than those performative burps that blare from his less than couth cohort, his face burns with embarrassment despite being alone in the room. His body doesn’t stop at one either, he belches uncontrollably as body inches larger with each release. Quickly bursting buttons off the front of his shirt and freeing a torso that, alongside growing a healthy layer of weight, has begun to itch.
Tumblr media
His blonde treasure trail has slowly begun to thicken as his fingers furiously scratch into his new weightier gut. Not noticing the definitive muscle hiding beneath he instead balks as he feels his light body hair spread out and upwards. Sticky sweat still covering his form as the heat has not abated in the slightest he looks down to observe the unfamiliar curves sticking out from his chest as his few nearly invisible chest hairs begin to thicken in the center of his chest, meeting the still rising furry patch on his stomach.
The movement of his arms bring a new change to his mind as they too have not been spared from these must be imagined changes. New biceps breach the open air as they bulge large enough to tear the sleeves into tatters, not obscene but simply too large to be restrained by his usually loose fitting button-up. Gionathan has never been especially proud of his figure, but looking down and seeing something more akin to the countless forms of men he’s masturbated to throughout the years brings a new, less terryfying emotion to whatever this nightmare is.
Gionathan feels butterflies in his chest as he clutches at definitive pecs that now lie on top of it. He bites his lip as the idea that there’s now something you can grab there shoots a wave of static into his mind. Knees almost giving way as he takes time to explore his changes, Gionathan returns to sit in his chair and feel himself up. As he continues to chew on his lip to avoid moaning, his eyes remain shut to allow his imagination to flourish.
This leaves him unaware of the tan that has begun to tint his changing body. Having not been exposed to sunlight in well over a decade, pasty is almost too generous a word to describe his pale torso. And yet, as his thickening hands trail across his meatier waist and play with a chest still growing weightier, his skin darkens to one naturally sun-kissed.
Wider palms smearing sweat across an expanding torso, his mind begins to drift. Playing with chest hair as it grows thicker his fingertips almost accidentally come across nipples that have grown extensively as his pecs begins to bulge larger. Beginning to play with them his changes begin to accelerate. His mouth scrunches up as itches begin to burn across his face. Stubble that has been kept off his face from a once-a-week shave rapidly rears its head before it thickens en masse. Sideburns shove themselves wider to cover the whole of his cheeks before expanding under his chin as each follicle surges larger and darkens.
Tumblr media
Green eyes flicker brown as Gionovan’s suddenly dark stubble quickly leaks upward, staining his pert blonde coif dirty, then brown, before finally turning as black as the curls that have begun to overtake his chest. Each strand changes as his hands continue to dance and delight in his bulkier body. His mouth scrunches as a mustache he’s never dreamed of growing begins to bulge out of his upper lip. Thicker than the hair on his head as memories of his hairline retreating over the years begin to assert themselves into his memory. Coffee dark eyes twitch while remaining closed, his hands trail up to his neck and come across scratchy stubble as he realizes that something is happening beyond skin deep changes.
Pausing his reverie, the young man no longer’s eyes open to see a name plate on his desk, Gionovan Clarvallo. “No, tha’s not-” He clutches at his throat as his voice rumbles deeper. Gionovan stands with a start and the sound of the seat of his pants tearing open resounds in the room. He groans and leans on the table as thighs grow wide and his ass expands into quite a powerful cushion. Clenching his stubble hidden jaw he can barely even realize that he lost something when he languished in his changing form. The label young man doesn’t quite apply anymore as smile crinkles crack around his eyes. His mind races once more to find things to hold onto.
He’s Gionovan Clarvallo. He’s lived in this town for most of his life, or no he lived in the city for a while didn’t he? The man groans as two lifetimes crash into each other like a fusion reaction. His studies evaporate to be replaced by prodigious years at culinary school. His gap year fades as recollections of traveling New York City to find hidden gems and expand his palette grow increasingly vivid, and unknowingly vital to who he is. Once more Gionovan feels a rising need to burp. Hand curling into a fist he covers his mouth and he sees dark curls bathe down his fore arm.
Tumblr media
The forest of hair that had only just begun to decorate his chest and stomach rapidly begins to thicken to cover every inch of his form as he struggles once more against pressure rising up his throat. Gionovan launches into a fit of belching once more. With each release his body changes further, jungle of chest hair spreading further, expanding and thickening, growing dark enough to completely hide tanned skin beneath it. His whole body grows wider, taller, heavier. Sweat trails down the side of his torso as his wildly increasing haven of pit hair drips with his new heady musk. Pants burst to shreds as his thighs grow to a size that can scarcely be covered while newly hairy shoulders grow bulkier to match his thickening neck and the weighty arms they are charged to maneuver.
Clutching at his stomach as it expands and grows fluffier with both darkening hair and comfortable weight, Gionovan realizes something. He tastes food more delicious than he’s ever experienced before dancing across his tongue. Flavors unfathomable and unfamiliar make their home in his mouth as his body continues to morph with every heaving release. Pesto sears his sinuses as the waistband of his underwear begins to struggle against his expanding ass and the suddenly monolithic testament to his masculinity bulging in his crotch. Airy gelato cleanses his palate as his stomach begins to hang over said waistband as his legs grow thick enough to send tears in the elastic and curls grow thick enough across them to be a pelt. The aftertaste of rich creamy fresh tomato pasta overwrites more and more of who he once was as memories of his time in the kitchen and traveling the world for new tastes chips away at whatever edges of Jonathan that remain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As he sits in the office, his office, rubbing at a torso that is rapidly becoming a hairy musclegut, he scratches at his thickening beard as a strange instinct rises as the aftertastes, or memories rather, continue to ephemerally rise. He could cook better than that. It’s why he opened his restaurant after all. To offer nothing but the best to this little town. To help ensure that every inch of the world has to experience the heavenly flavors he’s been so fortunate to enjoy. It’s why he opened his Slice of Italy. Standing with a grunt, there’s a knock on the office door and he realizes that he is almost completely nude. With a gasp, Giovanni clears his throat and calls out, “One minute Romeo!”
He goes to a cabinet in the corner and pulls out a change of clothes, well-suited to his massive form. He’s learned that a man of his size, and passion, should always keep an outfit on standby, after all it’s impossible to predict what any odd day will hold. Quickly struggling into the clothes he figures it’s about time to go up a size as gets the snug clothes on. Smiling at a picture of himself with the statue out front, Giovanni Cavallo goes to unlock his office door and greet his manager. Romeo smirks knowingly at the restaurant’s owner and executive chef before directing the massive man’s attention to a couple of younger men standing uncomfortably near the entrance.
“Evening Hon. Those two over there are the ones that uh, broke the display.” Giovanni puts his meaty hand on Romeo’s shoulder and with a wink rumbles out, “Thanks Rome. Know I can always count on you.” Matching silver bands appear on the fingers of both men and Romeo rolls his eyes before heading off to manage the front of house before the dinner rush is to begin. Giovanni then turns his attention to the hellions awaiting his reprimanding. Sizing them up he imagines what retribution they are to undergo. They could just pay for damages but where’s the fun in that. After all he was always quite fond of that little guy, almost a spitting image of himself he thinks with a smirk, not nearly as hot though. Flexing involuntarily he meets the pair and they immediately squeal.
The pair toss each other under the bus before Giovanni even has a chance to open his mouth and the massive chef scowls. No, these two need to be taught a lesson. At the clearing of his throat the bickering rats are struck mute and stare up at the owner. The kitchen could use a couple new junior chefs. Imagining the two men before him shaping up to fine young professionals under his tutelage, he has no recourse but to offer they work off the damages, “You boys any good in the kitchen?” Shiftily looking at each other the idea seems easy enough and in no time at all Romeo’s tossed them aprons and they’re in the back of house working up a sweat.
They find themselves more at home prepping vegetables and decorating dishes than they do in their actual homes. Quickly do they become acclimated enough to the kitchen that doing anything else is anathema to them. Their light hair rapidly shades darker and their outfits adapt to become suitable to the jobs they enjoy so much. The pair of once ruffians shift and stretch as their physiques become impressive as Giovanni’s was way back when he was their age. Wandering about his restaurant, the executive greets guests and compliments his staff, driving them to strive even harder to make him proud.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When he gets to his two newest hires, Alessio and Angelo, Giovanni watches them sprout taller as beards race to thicken and hide their shy smirks from his praise. Patting them on the back both men struggle to focus on their tasks at hand as his attention brings them more satisfaction than they could imagine. Commenting on their impressive figures he offers to show them the ropes at the gym in their free time and the junior chefs make eye contact as their biceps bulge larger. Giovanni laughs heartily, bringing a smile to everyone within earshot as they continue to craft the perfect slice of Italy in this small town. “You boys remind me of when I was younger heh, Keep up the good work!”
With that Giovanni goes to stand sentinel at the entrance and welcome guests in. In lieu of his little standee someone’s gotta be the first smiling face that guests see, and given how smooth nights at Giovanni’s Slice of Italy always are, his presence is superfluous. He’s just happy to be here and every day the titan strives to make sure that every guest and employee is as well.
"Oh, I never had pizza," she shook her head casually, waiting for his reaction to the lie she had just said - no, not only she loved it but she fully agreed to no pineapples. Nor olives. Olives were gross anywhere.
As curious as she was, she couldn't ask him about his father when it would so easily lead to him asking her about her parents; she didn't want to outright lie the entire time, "Well, at least you overdo it in a funny way," she offered with a smile.
Her eyes widened slightly in surprise when he joked about her jumping in - it was a good sign, of course, that he could do that, but she knew that if she answered positively in a direct way he'd be flustered, and maybe too flustered for it to work. So instead she chuckled to show her appreciation for it, sparing him from something he couldn't handle.
Tumblr media
"You are paid for your work, right? You are able to walk into a restaurant, ask for a souffle or all other kinds of French cousin, and pay for it?" Sarah was only in part teasing - did he not enjoy the money that came from the job? Of course she knew she was on what could be considered a 'higher level' which meant a far higher pay than the average agent, but even so, the least they could do was treat themselves nicely in the rare free time they had. "You love art, museums... I find that food tends to go hand in hand with learning about new cultures. That... and it's delicious. You'll see." She was going to be forced to spend time at home especially at the beginning, she couldn't immediately go looking for intel, she had to settle, so maybe she could keep herself busy cooking so she wouldn't go crazy with boredom.
She could picture him watering his lone plant so easily, it made her smile again, "Would you prefer more direct, even blunt come-ons? Because I could be more explicit..." she offered playfully, taking his arm with all the confidence of an actual girlfriend. Maybe the mission wouldn't be too difficult. He was trained and found her too strange and robotic to become romantically interested, so she didn't have to worry too much about that, which meant the worst part would be dealing with his inexperience in acting as a believable boyfriend. A far easier problem than what she could have had in her hands, since at the very beginning she had worried about wanting to kill him.
-----
Her hotel room was perfectly clean and in order, as one would expect from a five star and a renter who was hardly ever there and keep all her possessions - minus the fish - locked up. And she hadn't lied, the fishbowl was right before a window that gave to a beautiful view, one of the ways she did spoil herself besides the food. "So... this is the fish," she introduced them amusedly, but took the opportunity to quickly feed it. "With a view." And now it was time to get to business.
Worse? He sadly believed it. Sarah was nothing if not consistently unique -- not entirely in a bad way either -- and Ben allowed a soft smile as he appraised her. "Well, so long as we both agree that fruit doesn't belong on pizza, I think we can settle that you're not a complete sociopath."
Sarah was almost...flirty as she agreed with his quip, and although Ben knew this was but a ruse, it still flustered him since he wasn't used to such undivided female attention.
With a sheepish smile, he said, "Blame it on the 'son of a preacher man' in me, if you must. I was taught to be humble growing up, and I tend to overdo it sometimes."
Tumblr media
Sarah's incredulity over his food experience (or lack there of) was almost comical. "Now wait a minute," Ben said, laughing, "what about never trying a souffle is strange? I'm pretty sure that's not taught in home-ec, so you can't jump all over me for that...I mean, unless that's part of the ruse. In that case, jump all over me to your heart's content."
Okay, so that joke had sounded more charming in his head...
Grateful for the subject change, Ben fumblingly added, "I've had lasagna before...not real Italian, mind you, but pretty damn good stuff. Are you calling me uncultured for not flying across the world for genuine cuisine?"
"Want to come meet him? It's within walking distance..."
Looking up from the table, Ben arched a brow. "You want me to meet your fish? If I'm being honest, I've heard much stranger come-ons over the years, so sure, why not? I could do with stretching my legs." With a sheepish smile, he rose from his seat and helped Sarah up from her chair. "I'd reciprocate, but you'd just be meeting my lone house plant. I can't risk taking care of more than one."
RECKLESS ⸻ sam winchester
Tumblr media
warnings sam winchester x fem!reader, bf!sam, angst, established relationship, sam being overprotective, fighting, lots of blaming each other, mentions of dean being in hell, some fluff, wc: 1.9k
You slipped out of the motel room as quietly as you could, not wanting to wake Sam. You had been driving for days, hunting a wendigo near the outskirts of Iowa. But the hunt wasn’t even the hardest part—it was the weight of everything else. Ever since Dean's deal, since he was dragged into Hell, Sam had been on edge, more protective than ever. And you could feel it creeping into every part of your lives.
You glanced at Sam one more time as he lay sprawled on the bed, finally catching up on some sleep. He deserved that. Still, you knew you needed more supplies. You were running low on salt, and in the need of a few essentials Plus, you figured a little food wouldn't hurt.
The grocery store was only ten minutes away, so you grabbed the keys and your bag, telling yourself you’d be quick. On your way inside the store, you checked for your phone—"dang it", you cursed, you must've left it at the motel.
So you quickly breezed through the aisles, grabbing salt, herbs, and a few sandwiches and snacks for Sam. You loaded everything into the car and started heading back, happy to know you’d have Sam’s favorite food waiting for him.
But while you were on your way home, Sam was already panicking, pacing around the motel room.
He’d woken up to find you gone, no note, no message, just your phone lying there. His mind raced through every worst-case scenario. Every minute you were gone, his worry grew until it twisted into anger. Losing so many people did that to a person, and Sam had lost more than enough.
He couldn’t loose you too.
When you finally walked in, expecting Sam to be asleep, you were met by the intense sight of him, eyes locked on you the second you opened the door, and tension radiating off him.
"Where the hell were you?" Sam's voice was filled with frustration and disappointment.
"I... I went to grab some salt from the market. We were almost out," you answered, confused by his reaction. "Why? What's the matter?"
Sam rubbed over his face in frustration, walking toward you. His eyes scanned you from head to toe, as if ensuring you were in one piece. Even though you were back now, his heart was still racing.
"Heck y/n, I woke up and you were just gone. Do you know what that feels like after everything? I thought something bad had happened to you." His voice was shaking with distress.
"I was literally gone for half an hour! I thought you'd be asleep. I didn't want to wake you," you explained, fumbling with your words. "I wanted to be quick in case we needed the salt. It took me longer because there was this huge crash on the highway—"
"Wow, that's a perfect excuse." He cut in. "And you didn't think of a way to call me? Let me know you'd be gone longer? No, no... the only thing on your mind was getting some damn salt."
His words stung, more than you expected. "You need to calm down." you replied, trying to pull yourself together. Was he really so distrustful? "I know I should've told you before leaving, but look at me—I'm fine. Everything's fine."
Sam ran a hand through his hair, rolling his eyes. "Goddamn it, I don't care if you're fine right now. It's the principle, y/n. You do shit without thinking, and I can't stand it." He took a deep breath, trying to control his anger. "There are so many things that could've happened to you out there. How can you be so careless?"
That hit a nerve, and your frustration bubbled over. "Oh, so you think I can't protect myself? After everything we've been through—after all the times I've saved you and Dean—you think I can't handle something as simple as a grocery run?"
Sam's face darkened. "This isn't about your skills. I know you're a good hunter. But you're reckless, y/n. You don't understand what it's like to see someone you love get torn away from you because of one mistake, one slip-up. And then to wake up and think it's happening again..." His voice broke, some vulnerability showing.
You softened slightly, realizing how deep Sam's fear went. But you weren't going to let him accuse you of being reckless. "I do understand, Sam. I know how much losing Dean broke you. But I'm not him. I'm not going to disappear, but you also can't suffocate me because of it."
"I'm not trying to suffocate you. Fuck, you really don't get it, do you?" Sam's voice rang in your ears, and for a second, he just looked at you with disappointment in his eyes. "Just forget it y/n."
The sudden intensity of his words, the way he yelled, startled you. Sam wasn't the type to lose his temper like this—not with you. Sure, you two had your disagreements, but this was different. He was on edge, and you could tell that this wasn't just about the salt. It was about everything that had been weighing on him since losing Dean.
You swallowed the lump forming in your throat, seeing his fists clench like that scared you, so the only thing you could do right now was walk away. Your voice was quieter now, the fight draining you. "I'll take a walk, clear my head."
Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes as you turned to leave the room. The last thing you wanted was to fight with Sam, especially not like this. But before you could reach the door, you felt his hand gently grasp your arm, pulling you back.
"Wait." His voice was softer now, the anger replaced by guilt.
Sam pulled you close, his arms wrapped tightly around your waist as if letting go would somehow mean losing you again. You relaxed into him, resting your head against his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart. The warmth of his arms and the sound of his breathing helped calm you both down.
For a while, neither of you spoke. It was as if both of you needed that quiet, the space to breathe and let the tension resolve. And after a few moments, you pulled back just enough to look up at him. His eyes were softer now, and you could see he felt bad for snapping.
"You know," you said quietly, "I'm not going anywhere. You don't have to worry about losing me every time I step out the door. But you also have to let me breathe, Sam."
Sam let out a long sigh, his hand moving to tuck a stray strand of hair behind your ear. "I know," he murmured, though his voice still carried the weight of doubt. "I just... after Dean, I've been going nuts. Every hunt, every day, I'm constantly thinking about what could go wrong, what I could lose next. It's like I can't shut it off."
You reached up, cupping his face with both hands, your thumbs brushing gently along the stubble on his jaw. "Sam, I understand. I really do. But you can't live like this—constantly on high alert, constantly afraid. It's not fair to you. And it's not fair to us."
He leaned into your touch, closing his eyes for a moment, savoring the comfort of your hands on his skin. "I don't know how to stop," he admitted quietly.
"I think it's always going to be there," you said softly. "The fear. But you don't have to let it control you." You paused, searching his face for a moment before continuing. "I'm strong, Sam. I know how to handle myself. And I promise you, if I ever feel like I'm all up in my head, you'll be the first person I call. But you have to trust me. Can you do that?"
Sam opened his eyes, looking down at you, and for the first time that night, you saw a flicker of relief in his expression. He nodded, though you could tell it wasn't easy for him. "I can try," he said, his voice a little stronger now. "I'll try."
"That's all I'm asking," you whispered, giving him a small, reassuring smile.
For a few more moments, you stayed there in his arms, the tension easing itself. Finally, Sam spoke again, his tone lighter but still a hint of guilt in it. "I guess I owe you for getting the salt."
You chuckled softly, leaning your head back against his chest. "Yeah, you do. I went through a lot of trouble for that salt."
"Next time, maybe wake me up before you leave," he said, a small smile on his lips, “Or at least don't forget your phone."
"Deal," you agreed with a playful grin. "No more disappearing acts. But you have to promise me something, too."
"What's that?" he asked, his brow furrowing slightly in curiosity.
"You have to promise to stop worrying so much. At least a little. You're going to give yourself a heart attack at this rate."
Sam chuckled, the sound low and warm in his chest. "I'll do my best," he promised, “but no guarantees.”
You smiled, reaching up to kiss him gently. "I'll take it."
Sam kissed you back, slow and soft. When he pulled away, there was a warmth in his eyes, a quiet appreciation for the way you understood him, even when he didn't always know how to explain himself.
"Come on," you said, tugging him toward the table. "I got your favorite sandwiches, you need to eat."
Sam hesitated for a moment, glancing at the filled grocery bags. But then he let out a sigh and nodded, he definitely needed these sandwiches now.
"Thank you, baby." He mumbled, pressing a kiss to your forehead before grabbing the plastic bags and putting everything away.
The room still felt heavy with the weight of what you were both going through, but at least you were in it together. You were safe. He was safe. And for now, everything was okay.
Tumblr media
Hey, hope you’re good. For the Barcelona football player povs, could you maybe do one about the moment he realised he was in love with you, thanks :)
FALLING IN LOVE
—FC BARCELONA.
summary: How would boys react when they realize they are in love?
words: +1.5k
warnings: none. cute, soft.
song recommendation:
Tumblr media
Pedri González.
You were probably one of his first loves. Maybe he once loved someone but not like he does you. He really wanted to take things slowly but after not being able to hide his feelings, he would accept that he is completely in love with you.
Although he still doesn't know whether to tell you, he trusts you and knows that you would never hurt him, but he will wait for you to tell him so as not to influence your decision.
But he is very in love and you will see how he begins to have different attitudes towards you, his hands look for yours all the time, his eyes do not stop looking at you, his voice changes when he talks to you.
Tumblr media
Ferran Torres.
You just got out of a relationship and didn't think you could fall in love again so quickly. But Ferran will not hesitate to tell you that her feelings have changed and now he sees you differently.
He really loves you, like you are the right person for him, he likes you with all your strengths and weaknesses. The way you laugh, when you seek his warmth, when he embarrasses you at his compliments.
He really admires and is proud to be able to say that he loves you. Because for him you are an honest, loving and kind person. So how not to fall in love with you?
Tumblr media
Joao Felix.
Like Ferran, Joao also just broke up from a somewhat complicated relationship and although he thought he would not fall in love again for a long time, you arrived to ruin his plans (in a good way).
It was inevitable for him to think that you were a great woman, with clear values, principles and objectives. A woman who knows she wants him and loves that.
Compared to his previous relationships, this time Joao feels that it is real. That you understand and complement each other, that you don't need to tell the world about yourself but that you love and support each other.
Tumblr media
Pablo Gavi.
For Gavi, loving you is something new in his life. Maybe she has had the odd romance but none like yours. He is completely lost in you.
Like a youthful romance and one of those that will last a lifetime. Gavi admires you, supports you and loves you no matter what. Willing to learn from you and everything that loving you entails.
He's a gentleman, he likes to be affectionate with you, tell you cheesy things, take you to cute places. He will show you to the world, because he loves you and he wants everyone to know it.
Tumblr media
Fermín Lopez.
You have known each other since you were little and how could you not fall in love with such a man? He is everything to you.
Fermín is the person that everyone wants by their side, affectionate, kind, careful and respectful. And he loves you unconditionally. He has loved you forever, since you used to play in the gardens of his house.
I always accepted his feelings for you and he was always direct because he knows what he wants and that's you. So he's an old romantic and will treat you like the queen you are.
Tumblr media
Marc Guiu.
Maybe at first he tries to hide his feelings, we all know that he likes to seem like a tough man but deep down he is not.
He is completely in love with you and he won't be able to hide it for long. Because he loves it when you laugh, when you get close to him, when You are free and fun.
He likes it when you care about him and take care of him, it makes him want to love you more than he should. So he will confess and he won't let you go, he is determined to have you in his life and he knows that you want it too.
Tumblr media
Héctor Fort.
You are the first girl he has liked since he can remember and it will be a little shy and embarrassing for Hector. He doesn't know how to tell you, act, or approach you.
He will probably feel a little insecure at first but he will gain confidence when you are the one who approaches him and shows him that you are also interested.
Everything will be like the first time with him, loving each other, understanding each other, taking care of each other, but it will be so magical because Héctor is simply in love with you in every way.
Could you possibly write a scenario where the reader is upset about something stupid and ignoring her boyfriend. So he makes it impossible to ignore him, playing with her, teasing her, touching her. He says something like “you can try to ignore me but your body can’t” when he feels how wet she is
“Aw baby… don’t be mad at me,” your boyfriend cooed in your ear, sending a shiver down your spine.
You were mad— mad about something unimportant. But it didn’t matter, it was the principle of it; you kept a straight face and pushed his delicate hand off your thigh without budging. As much as you wanted to give in, stop this game and relish in his touch, you were kind of, well, difficult. Once you had made up your mind it was hard to stop it from deterring off its path.
But your boyfriend knew better.
He ran his hand up your back, slipping under the hem of your shirt to feel your skin. His digits played with your bra strap as he whispered in your ear, “I’m sorry baby, I really am… I can make it all better, okay?” You pressed your lips together and tried to squirm away, but he kept you seated on the edge of the bed with his other hand that had begun to unbutton the front of your shirt.
“Now now, why can’t you let me make it up to you?” Your boyfriend’s eyes were hungry as he slid your shirt off your front, marveling at your breasts in that bra he bought you. It was see through, lacy, the best one he could find just for you. God… it was hot. Just seeing you, even if you were in nothing but a ratty t shirt, was enough to send him over the edge with arousal.
You pushed his hand from your back and crossed your arms over your chest, trying to hide yourself away from him. As much as you wanted to pretend you weren’t hot and dripping… you knew he was aware. You could tell from the way your boyfriend’s eyes flitted to your pants, to your clothed cunt, that he knew you were wet just for him.
“Darling… honey.. my love..” Your boyfriend smiled, leaning forward to brush his nose against your jaw, “Why don’t we take off those pants, huh? I’ll make you feel nice and good.. then you won’t be mad anymore, princess.” You could feel the rough stubble on his face against your cheek and for a moment you contemplated giving in.
You found yourself lying back on the bed as he tore your pants off. You struggled in his hold, trying to keep him off you even though you both knew it was a front— nothing more than a mere act to hide the fact you had long conceded to him.
You wore those panties he bought you too, sheer and comfortable. The kind that hugged your curves and accentuated your body. Your boyfriend bit the inside of his cheek and stared at your pussy, a different look in his eye. For a moment you thought he was judging you, perhaps thinking you looked bad, before … he cracked a crooked smile.
“Oh you’re so wet for me…” He breathed out, reaching out one finger to stroke along your clothed core, “As much as you ignore me, you can’t deny how bad you want me, baby. Your body tells on you,” he looked up at you, eyes wide and blown out with arousal. Your boyfriend leaned forward and pressed a few kisses to your inner thigh, letting teeth graze against your sensitive skin. Letting his tongue loll circles around your stretch marks because, God, he’d be lying if he said those marks didn’t turn him on.
His mouth found your pussy, pulling aside your panties to fuck you with his tongue. It was quick, how he was able to get to your clit and send a shiver down your spine. It was hot, how he managed to get you wetter beyond belief, painting his face and your thighs with nothing but pure slick. And it was utterly erotic, how your boyfriend managed to look up at you with those devilish eyes.
“That’s it…” He murmured against your folds, spreading you apart to get a better angle. His tongue traced circles around your entrance, getting that sensitive spot. He fucked your tight hole, licking around the edge in the place he knew you loved the most.
“F-Fuuck.. I-I.. I’m .. mm.. I’m-I’m gon-gonna.. h-hhah..” You gaped, reaching forward to grab his hair and press his face against your honey pot. Your boyfriend grinned and you could feel it on your skin as you began to come undone, unraveling in a slow methodical fashion. You whined and gasped, arching your back and crying out louder than you had expected. It was a slow kind of pleasure that overtook your vulva and spread out through your body, numbing and melting your mind.
“That’s it…” Your boyfriend pulled back and slowly rubbed against your clitoris with two fingers, “Good.. yeah you like that.. I told you I’d make you feel all better baby.. that’s it..” He grinned and press d a few kisses to your knee, watching as you whined and came down from your orgasm.
“I should… get mad at you more often..”
zoro and his girl who are always bickering and fighting and breaking up and getting back together again. atp, the other straw hats are used to it now. I can also imagine zoro NEVER apologizes and his idea of getting back together with his girl again is just acting like buisness as usual (just going back to her and sitting with her, throwing his arm around her shoulder, kissin her cheek, acting like nothing ever happened, etc) and usually, she’s receptive to it. Because even though she’s as stubborn as zoro (maybe even more), she hates arguing (and loves him too much).
but imagine during one of their arguments, Nami drags her out to go shopping at a island they stopped by, and she sees all these happy couples holding hands and being affectionate and just being sweet and soft with each other. she realizes…zoro is never sweet and soft with her. and he NEVER says I’m sorry (I imagine maybe she sees an arguing couple in the market, but the guy comes with flowers and an apology and it makes her wonder). She makes up her mind, she won’t take him back until he says those words, no matter what. I know this isn’t so descriptive, but I’d love to see you take on this! ❤️
synopsis: time and time again zoro has forgotten about your outings, leaving you dressed up and alone on several occasions. but after nami witnesses it in person, she finally puts her foot down... and you finally confront your swordsman.
cw: angst, very little comfort, happy-ish ending (left up for interpretation), zoro's kind of an asshole, nami's a girl's girl, reader is better than me.
a/n: listen to promise by laufey or casual by chappell roan if you want the full experience. i've never written a trifling zoro before this was crazy
"Why don't you stop wasting my time and give me a real discount?" Nami asked, firmly slamming her fist on the counter.
"Please don't be angry! I'm doing my best!" the cashier apologized, "But, c'mon, I can't take fifty percent off no matter how much you buy. They're marked down enough already!"
The man looked to be on the brink of tears, and you couldn't help but snicker.
"Nami, leave the poor man alone..." you smiled, feeling a little bad for him, "He's just doing his job. And besides, it's not like you can't afford it."
"Nope," she denied, popping the p as she grabbed another humongous pile of clothes. "It's the principle of the matter, (y/n). If I have the option to pay for something half-off, why would I pay full price?"
"They're not half-off!"
"Besides..." her gaze drifted to your outfit, a small pout settling on her lips as she looked you up and down with saddened eyes. "I can see that you are clearly trying to out-glam me, so I gotta glam back!"
She turned to the cashier, placing down the new pile.
"You drive a hard bargain. I'll buy these, too. But I want ninety percent off."
The man nearly fainted and you laughed, surprised by Nami's playful rivalry.
"Nami, you've owned more clothes than I've ever worn. I think it's safe to say that between the two of us, you're the one that's out-glamming me," you assured, resting your cheek in your palm as you leaned on the counter.
"But look at you!" she playfully whined. "Your outfit is killer! And your hair is on point, too!"
Though, just as quick as she examined your outfit, she realized that it was really good.
Too good to be shopping in.
"Wait, (y/n), were you supposed to be going somewhere? Why are y—"
The moment your face fell, the glimmer in your eyes dimming at the memory, reality finally donned on the navigator, hitting her like a sea train at top speed.
He did it again.
Anger rushed through the woman's veins like wildfire, her face not even attempting to conceal her fury as it twisted into an expression of absolute rage.
You knew it all too well.
"Nami, ple—" "I'll KILL HIM!"
The clothes on the counter were suddenly a thing of the past as the red-haired woman drew her Clima-Takt and stormed toward the exit of the boutique, the dangerous aura she was emanating sending a shiver down even your spine.
Like magnets, everything began to click for the woman.
The beautiful outfit.
The done-up hair.
The glum look on your face.
'That bastard stood her up again!'
That's why you had been wandering around town aimlessly.
You were waiting for him.
This scenario had become commonplace over the past several months you and the green-haired swordsman had been dating, much to Nami's severe indignation.
It was always the same.
You and Zoro would plan a date.
Zoro would get caught up training, or get caught up drinking, or just plain, old fucking forget.
You would end up alone, having gone through all the trouble and embarrassment.
She would have to console you, and you would have to keep her from bashing his head in.
Then you'd have to face the jerk the next day, who, instead of apologizing, simply acted like nothing ever happened.
As if the entire ship see how utterly crushed you were.
And then the whole cycle would repeat the following week.
Nami was sick of it.
'This shit ends today.'
"Nami, please! It's not worth it!" you ran out the store and after her, grabbing onto her arm. "It's not gonna change anything!"
"The hell it isn't!" she barked, brows cinched tightly together. "(y/n), I won't stand for this anymore! This is what?! The twentieth time?!"
"Twenty-third... but I'm not counting..." you corrected, meekly.
"(Y/N)!"
"I know! I know!" you sighed, plopping yourself down on the curb, defeated. "I don't know what's wrong with me..."
"There's nothing wrong with you! There's something wrong with him not realizing just how much of a fucking catch you are!" she groaned, exasperatedly, as she threw her hands in the air. "Twenty-three times, that bastard... I oughta chip his swords twenty-three times."
"I guess... I just don't get why..." you mumbled, looking down at your lap with glassy eyes. "Is it me? Am I doing something wrong?"
Nami turned to you, heart aching at your saddened form.
"Don't think that for another second!" she denied, quickly moving to take a seat next to you, pulling you into a small side hug. "You've done absolutely nothing to deserve this. Zoro's just being a real jackass."
"But there has to be some reason," you attempted to rationalize, tone rising. "Does he not care? Am I just that insignificant that he can't even waste an hour or two to spend time with me? His girlfriend?"
"That's what I've been saying!" Nami agreed, loudly, calling the attention of some passersby. "(y/n), you've given him chance after chance after chance, and he still hasn't cleaned up his act."
She gave your shoulder a reassuring squeeze, flashing you a sincere smile.
"I'm not saying you have to break up with him, unless that's what you want to do, but I'm saying that you really need to realize just how amazing you are, and hold him accountable for his actions."
Shooting up from her seat, she stood before you, pointing a manicured finger at your chest.
"You're the prize, girl! You're strong, smart, kind, compassionate, and drop-dead gorgeous! What guy wouldn't want that!" she turned to a few of the men passing by, a smile on her face. "Right?"
"YES!" they cheered, eagerly.
Your face burned with embarrassment.
"Nami!"
"You get my point!" she laughed, resting her hand on her hip. "You deserve someone who will treat you like the princess you are. Whether that's Zoro or not is up to you, but know that his track record begs to differ..."
Taking a moment, you let her words sink in, your confidence rising slowly but surely.
Maybe you were that great...
Maybe you did deserve more...
Maybe it was time to start anew...
"Y'know what... you're right! It's time for a change!" you smiled, slowly standing up from the curb. "No more tears!"
"Nope!" Nami cheered, proudly.
"No more excuses!"
"None of 'em!"
"No more pretending!"
"Not around here!"
"From now on, I'm gonna start living life for me! And if that means going out clubbing tonight and getting drunk to forget my problems, then so be it!"
"Y'know what, I'll take it! Let's go!" Nami squealed, the two of you quickly charging back into the boutique.
You couldn't fight off your smile, your shoulders feeling like an insurmountable weight had been lifted off them.
For the first time in a while, things didn't seem so bleak.
"Ooo, I think I saw the perfect revenge dress for you, (y/n)! It's gorgeous!"
Tumblr media
Walking out of the girls' quarters, you felt like a million bucks—and were probably wearing it too with the amount of money you and Nami spent in town.
But price be damned, the result was phenomenal.
The provocative dress.
The decadent perfume.
The glittering jewelry.
The leg-extending heels.
You were absolutely breath-taking.
Not to say that you weren't before, but just significantly more so.
The dress itself was just the right amount of short, and helped carve out your curves deliciously.
Your hair was done courtesy of the ship's archaeologist, its style elegant yet loose to fit the club scene you were going to.
And your skin was practically glowing thanks to the oils Nami had picked up in the market.
So, it was safe to say you were at least a quadruple threat.
Looking down at yourself, you smiled, feeling like the prettiest woman in the world.
No longer concerned with the feelings of others, or the wrong-doings of yourself, you felt freer than you'd ever had.
And you had Nami to thank for it all.
'For finally knocking some sense into me...'
Sensing someone's presence, you pulled yourself out of your thoughts, only to see your swordsman standing right before you.
His eyes dragged over your body, almost analytically, a grin rising to his lips.
It seemed he finished his training early...
"Where are you goin' all dressed up?" he smirked, his hand coming up to rest on your hip, pulling you closer. "You look good... an' smell good, too."
Quickly, you pushed yourself out of his grasp, your legs pressing forward to stride across the balcony, leaving the him to stand there, surprised.
You had never pushed him away before, much less ignored him.
'What the hell?'
"What's the matter with you?" Zoro's voice lowered an octave, brows furrowed in confusion as he followed after you.
You didn't answer, keeping your gaze trained ahead as you pressed on, heading toward the stairs that led off the Sunny.
"(y/n)," he tried again, voice slightly firmer, as he grabbed your arm, stopping you in your tracks. "(y/n), what the hell's your problem? Where are you going?"
Harshly, you flung his hand off, brows slowly beginning to crease at his audacity.
He was acting like nothing happened.
Again.
He knew exactly why you were fucking upset, but was making the choice to completely ignore it in favor of acting stupid and playing in your face.
Your jaw set tight, all your thoughts grinding to a screeching halt.
For the first time ever, anger and resentment began to claw at your chest, your hand itching to rise up and slap him right across the cheek.
Enough was enough.
"Don't fuckin' touch me," you spat, voice dripping with venom as you went back to walking. "I don't wanna see you right now."
"See me?" his brows furrowed as his finger pointed toward his chest, now even more confused. "The hell did I do?!"
Or maybe he was just fucking stupid...
Either way, you finally cracked.
"IT'S WHAT YOU DON'T DO, ZORO!" you roared, whipping back around to face him, the man flinching at your volume. "FOR GOD'S SAKE, IT'S ALWAYS BEEN WHAT YOU DON'T DO!"
The leak in the dam of your heart had finally turned into a full-on flood, and you were now outpouring months upon months upon months of pent up anger.
"You stand me up! You forget our dates! You make it abundantly clear that you would much rather spend the day nursing a sake bottle than with me!" you scoffed, throwing an exasperated hand in the air. "Do you even remember what we were supposed to do today?!"
The swordsman paused a moment, scouring his brain for recollection of the event.
"Hey, Zo'," you piped up from your spot in the corner, shutting the book Robin had loaned you. "I'm gettin' kinda hungry. You wanna grab lunch?"
He nodded, grinding out another squat as he lowered his knees to a ninety-degree angle, somehow perfectly controlling the two ton weight on his back.
"Yeah, you go on ahead," he grunted, holding the position. "I'll catch up. Gonna finish up this set."
"'Kay," you nodded, flashing him an eager smile. "I'll meet you at that sushi place we saw in town."
Zoro's eye shot wide, a sudden sense of dread sinking in his stomach as he finally remembered.
"Oh, shit..."
"Yeah... Oh, shit," you scoffed, turning to head off the ship. "I'm done with this..."
"Woah, woah, woah, wait a minute," he grabbed your arm once again, pulling you back. "(y/n), it was an accident... I didn't mean it."
"How the hell am I supposed to know that?! You never fucking apologize!" you yelled, jerking sharply away from his grasp. "At least that way it could seem like you're at least trying to pretend you care about me!"
"Of course, I care about you, (y/n)!"
"YOU CERTAINLY DON'T ACT LIKE IT!" your voice cracked.
He halted, expression falling and chest tugging with pain as a few stray tears fell down your cheeks.
You were hurting... bad.
And it was all his fault.
All of the times he left you hanging, all of the times he screwed up.
They were all coming back to haunt him, each one doubling the weight of the sinking pit in his stomach.
How could he have not seen?
You had been so patient with him—never raising your voice, never holding a grudge—and he supposed his mind had unconsciously took that as the green-light to proceed.
Granted, he never forgot anything or stood you up out of malice or actual lack of care.
It just... slipped his mind.
Though, in that, he could see where his thinking was flawed, and where you could find a problem.
"Am I... just that forgettable to you?" you asked, voice suddenly small.
Zoro snapped himself out of his thoughts, eye wide at your tone.
It sounded so distant.
"Of course, not, (y/n)," he quickly denied, lurching forward to hold you out of instinct. "I—"
But you stepped back, avoiding his grasp as your arms raised to hug yourself, hoping to keep everything together.
"Every time I look at you, I feel more alone," you continued, letting out a few sniffles. "I'm always, always reaching out to you, always down for whatever you want to do. But you just... never reach back... and you don't even bother to apologize..."
Glancing out at the sunset, you fought off the wobble of your lip, hugging yourself even tighter.
"Zoro... I can't be with someone that doesn't care about me..."
That's when everything suddenly came to a screeching halt.
Zoro felt like the words cut right through his chest, tearing through his heart and opening it up like force hell-bent on making him see.
He'd rarely felt this feeling, but he knew what it was instantly.
Fear.
"(y/n), don't do this," he started, panic slowly spiking in his veins. "I'm sorry for being such an idiot... but we can work this out. This doesn't have to be... it doesn't have to end like this..."
"But it does," you countered, quickly. "It isn't like this is your first time doing this, Zoro... or your third... or your tenth... or even your twentieth."
You scoffed, half-laughing at the situation.
"If I hadn't said anything, you probably would've made it to thirty."
Zoro's chest stung at the comment, the man almost letting out a wince.
It was harsh... but not without truth.
"I'm freeing myself of all of this, Zoro. I deserve better," you stated, firmly, slowly regaining your confidence as you turned away, heading for the stairs. "This conversation is over. And thanks to you, I'm late."
The swordsman looked just about ready to shit his pants, the finality of your words scaring him more than any enemy.
You were his girl.
His best friend.
His ray of sunshine.
Seeing you so upset, so jaded, because of his actions?
He felt like shit.
And, in that moment, he honestly wanted nothing more than to hold you.
To shower you with a thousand apologies.
To make it up to you in any and every way he could possible conceive.
But you were slipping through his fingers like smoke, blowing father and farther away.
"(y/n)... please..." he tried one final time, voice softer than you'd ever heard it before as he carefully grabbed your wrist.
And you nearly broke, the sound of his voice pulling a sharp string on your heart, nearly making you take everything back.
But Nami's words from earlier replayed in your mind, and you fought the feeling, pulling your arm away.
You had to stay strong, for both your sakes.
"We're done, Zoro," you finished, finally descending down the steps. "I'm moving on."
The swordsman watched as you disappeared in front of him, now suddenly feeling as if you were worlds away.
He'd finally done it.
He'd pushed you over the edge.
And rather than feeling angry or upset, or even sorry for himself, he felt empty.
Truly and utterly empty.
The rest of the crew watched from cracked doors and open windows as the man stood there, staring at the place you had once stood like he was in a trance.
Nobody wanted things to turn out this way.
It was clear as day that the both of you loved each other a great deal... but Zoro needed this.
He needed the wake up call.
And now that he was presented with all the necessary truth, he could finally work toward remedying the situation; and, by the will of the Gods, making up his dizzying amount of transgressions against you.
It would be hard work, and for the first time in his life, he would have to be completely vulnerable.
But the crew believed in him.
And the crew believed in you, too.
The both of you would come back from this stronger than ever.
And Zoro would come back to the crow's nest with a calendar hanging front and center on the door.
The best part of being his own camp counsellor is that he can wake up whenever the fuck he likes.
Nico’s a fan.
Because, however, his dumb ass made friends with the camp’s head medic, he doesn’t get to sleep in as often as he would like. He is instead often woken up before the clock strikes nine, which is a tragedy and one of the forty thousand reasons he is going to be present on Will’s judgement day. (The scales tip any which way on a regular basis, but as of last week, Will is going to hell. Unfortunate. Nico’ll still visit him, though. Bring him one half of a twizzler or something.) So when he wakes up, one lovely morning, mouth tasting like something rotted in it and sun well past halfway across the sky, he is capital-C Concerned.
What a horrible tragedy that is. Finally, for the first time in months, he was able to sleep in. And his first thought is not gratitude. Solace may indeed have to die — Nico was not this way before he started planting his annoying ass front and centre in Nico’s life. He’s quite fairly certain he used to be frightening and badass. Now Will orders him to drink milk for the sake of his calcium and he does. Gods.
“Morning,” he hedges, approaching the archery range, feeling marginally more alive than twenty minutes prior.
Kayla raises an amused eyebrow. “Dude, it’s, like, two.”
“Well fuck you, then.”
She smirks. “Aw, did baby not get his Sunshine fix of the day? Is that why he’s so grumpy?”
It really sucks that Will is so fond of his siblings. Nico wonders if Will would still like him if he knew how many times he daydreams of transporting Kayla onto the moon per day.
“As soon as I figure out which god would appreciate you as a sacrifice, you’re gone.”
“Yeah, right,” she snorts, turning away and lining up an arrow. She lets it fly, watching as it shaves a splinter off a hunk of wood fifty feet away. “You couldn’t get close enough to kick my ass before I’d skewer you, di Angelo.”
Remembering the warning arrow Kayla had shot through his shoulder last week, he wisely chooses not to press the matter any further. The power visibly goes to her head. Fuck.
“Just — tell me where Will is.”
“Why?” She strings another arrow. The grin on her face is a level of shit-eating that Nico has only before seen on a Stoll. She should spend less time around Julia, or else the camp is in for some serious trouble. “What are your intentions with my dear brother?”
Nico, on principle, refuses to answer that question. Kayla shrugs, finishing her shot and then turning around to stick her tongue out at him.
“No answer, no location! Find him yourself, loverboy. And remember that I am always watching.”
Stomping away, and ignoring the smile twitching at his lips — she is so annoying, truly, gods above he owes Bianca a thousand apologies for ever opening his mouth — he heads towards the infirmary. There are only six locations Will is at any given time, after all, except when he disappears for several hours randomly but Nico doesn’t know how to bring that up yet. As he approaches the infirmary, though, he hears it absolutely blasting with music, like genuinely shaking the ground a little bit, and knows exactly where to find him.
As he approaches the door, wincing at the door, he finds it closed. Odd — Will likes a breeze when he works. Even odder is the hastily-written sign pasted onto it:
ANNUAL CLEAN OUT DAY. IF YOU NEED ME, TOUGH SHIT. IF YOU NEED A BANDAID, TOUGH SHIT. IF YOU’RE BLEEDING OUT, CALL AN AMBULANCE AND PRAY. I AM BUSY.
(‘Busy’ is underlined three times.)
In smaller print, under the all-caps monstrosity, is:
Unless you’re Nico, in which case disregard the previous sentiment. No, Cecil, this does NOT mean you.
The note is written again in Ancient Greek, Latin, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Mandarin, Italian, Polish, Korean, Morse Code, and another ten languages Nico can’t even name. Actually, wait — the top left is Klingon. And middle right note does not appear to be language, showing instead a poorly drawn stick figure in armour being shoved into a cannon and shot into the sun by another poorly drawn stick figure in a lab coat. Nico loves a man who’s multi-talented, indeed.
Hesitantly, Nico cracks open the door. He is immediately assaulted by a solid wall of sound, and then nearly bowled over by the enigma himself, William ‘I Can Restructure A Human Brain But Cannot Tie My Shoelaces’ Solace. He catches himself at the last second, and then barely manages to catch Will, grabbing him around the waist just before his head hits the floor.
“Nico!” he shouts over the music, smiling brightly. “Hi! You’re here!”
“I’m here.” He can physically feel his voice cracking, but luckily the music drowns it out. Hopefully. “Uh, what’re you doing?”
“Cleaning!” Will straightens up, although he stays within the circle of Nico’s arms. Nico tries real hard to keep his gaze firmly planted on his face and not on the hands he still has in his hips. “I do it once a year, kick everybody out and deep clean the place. Helps keep it fresh and minimize the bloodstains on the floor.”
“Ah. And the music…”
“It’s fun!” Will shouts. He gasps when the CD player skips and a new song comes on, heavy base and funky synths blasting so hard the window panes shake. “Oh my gods! I love this one!” He turns his bright grin at Nico full force, absolutely no holdbacks on the dimples or freckles, gods help him, and bows cheekily. “Can I have this dance, good sir?”
“It’s Britney Spears’ Outrageous,” Nico protests weakly.
“Yeah!”
…Very, very weakly.
“…Okay.”
Will whoops, grabbing his hands and spinning him around. Nico yelps, nearly tripping over a cot, but when he looks back up Will has his eyes closed and is shimmying not unlike a worm on a fish hook, and it’s so ridiculous that he can’t help but laugh. Will pries one eye open, grinning widely, and shimmies harder.
“You’re such a dweeb!”
“Join me in the dweebiness! Free yourself!”
Nico rolls his eyes fondly, squeezing Will’s hand, and lets himself get ridiculous. He’ll deny it if anyone asks, but it’s fun.
…And not just because Will is next to him, smile brighter than any star, dancing like a massive dork, hand clasped in his.
The Avengers Tower is a beacon of Christmas cheer this time of year, buzzing with the energy of festive preparations. Garlands hang from the railings, twinkling lights are draped across every conceivable surface, and the smell of hot cocoa wafts from the kitchen. It’s a cozy chaos, and you’re in the thick of it, perched on a step stool as you wrestle with a particularly stubborn string of fairy lights.
Your arms ache from holding them above your head for so long, but you’re determined to get them just right. The lights have to be even—no awkward gaps or clumps. It’s a matter of principle, and besides, you know Tony will be annoying about it if you don’t.
“Need a hand?” a familiar voice asks from behind you.
You glance down and find Steve Rogers standing there, all broad shoulders and gentle eyes. He’s holding a box of ornaments, his cheeks tinged pink—not from the cold (you’re indoors, after all), but something else. The sight of him is enough to make your own cheeks heat up, though you do your best to ignore it. Steve has that effect on people.
“I’ve got it,” you reply, gritting your teeth as you stretch a little further. The stool wobbles, and his hands dart out instinctively, steadying you with a feather-light touch. You freeze, your heart doing an Olympic-level somersault.
“You sure?” he asks, his voice low and careful. “That stool doesn’t look very—uh—stable.”
“It’s fine,” you insist, though your confidence in the stool’s structural integrity is rapidly dwindling. You glance down again and catch the crease of worry on his brow. The man is the living embodiment of chivalry; there’s no way he’ll let you keep going without making it his mission to help.
With a sigh, you step down. The lights can wait. “Fine,” you concede. “Knock yourself out, Captain Christmas.”
Steve chuckles, setting the box of ornaments down on a nearby table. He steps up onto the stool, and you’re struck again by just how tall he is. He’s got at least a foot and a half on you, which is something you’re reminded of constantly—like when you have to crane your neck just to look him in the eye. Or when he easily reaches shelves that are practically a mile out of your range.
He’s annoyingly perfect. Not just in the tall, strong, and ridiculously handsome way, but in the kind, thoughtful, and genuine way too. He’s the kind of man who offers his umbrella to strangers in the rain, who remembers how you take your coffee, who actually listens when you talk. And if that weren’t enough, he’s also awkward—adorably so, especially around you.
You suspect it’s because you’re small and he worries about crushing you with a handshake. Or maybe it’s because he thinks you’re fragile, which would be ironic, considering how many missions you’ve both survived. Either way, his awkwardness only fuels your ridiculous, head-over-heels crush.
As Steve strings the lights, you busy yourself unpacking ornaments from the box he brought. Most of them are classics—shiny globes, candy canes, and snowflakes—but there are a few oddities mixed in. A Hulk-shaped bauble makes you snort, and you hold it up for Steve to see.
“Look familiar?” you tease.
He glances down from his perch and grins. “Bet Bruce loves that one.”
“He’s probably going to hide it on the back of the tree,” you reply, setting it aside. Your fingers brush against a different ornament—this one shaped like a little star. It’s simple, but pretty, and you hold it up to admire it. “This one’s cute.”
Steve’s hands falter for a split second as he adjusts the lights. You don’t notice, too focused on the star, but he notices. Oh, he notices. Because you just called something “cute” in that soft, slightly breathless way that makes his chest tighten. He swallows hard and refocuses on the task at hand.
“Y-yeah, it’s nice,” he manages, hoping his voice doesn’t crack.
Why is this so hard?
Steve has faced down alien armies, assassins, and world-ending threats without breaking a sweat, but the thought of confessing his feelings to you is enough to make him panic. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. At the start of the year, he’d made a resolution—a promise to himself—that he would finally tell you how he felt. But every time he’s tried, the words get stuck in his throat.
And now, with Christmas just days away, the deadline he arbitrarily set for himself is looming. The idea of starting another year without telling you makes his stomach twist, but so does the idea of screwing it up. What if you don’t feel the same way? What if he ruins everything?
“Steve?” your voice snaps him out of his spiral.
“Hm?” He blinks down at you, realizing he’s been staring blankly at the half-lit string of lights in his hands.
“You okay?” you ask, your brow furrowed. “You zoned out for a second there.”
“Oh, uh—yeah, I’m fine,” he says quickly, though his ears are burning. “Just thinking.”
“About?” you prompt, tilting your head.
You shouldn’t do that. It’s unfair, how cute you look when you’re curious. It makes it harder for him to keep his cool.
“Nothing important,” he lies, offering a sheepish smile. “How’s the ornament situation?”
You hold up the Hulk bauble again with a smirk. “I think this one’s going front and center.”
Steve laughs, shaking his head. “Bruce is gonna love that.”
You giggle, and the sound is like music to his ears. It’s one of the things he loves most about you—your laugh. It’s warm and infectious, and he’d do just about anything to hear it.
Before he can spiral further into his thoughts, you step closer to hand him the star ornament. “Here,” you say. “This one should go up top.”
Steve takes it, his fingers brushing against yours for the briefest moment. It’s nothing, really—just an innocent touch—but it sends a jolt of electricity through him. He wonders if you feel it too, or if he’s imagining things.
“Good choice,” he says, his voice a little quieter now. He focuses on securing the star to the top of the tree, grateful for the distraction. When he’s done, he steps back to admire his work, and you join him, standing so close that your shoulder almost brushes his arm.
“Not bad, Captain,” you say, your tone light but genuine. “I think we’ve got ourselves a pretty solid tree.”
He glances down at you, his heart doing that stupid fluttery thing it always does when you’re near. You’re smiling—bright and proud—and for a moment, he forgets how to breathe.
“Yeah,” he says softly, more to himself than to you. “It’s perfect.”
You glance up at him, your smile faltering just slightly. There’s something in his expression—something raw and unguarded—that makes your pulse quicken. For a second, you think maybe, just maybe, he feels the same way you do.
But the moment passes, and Steve clears his throat, stepping away under the guise of tidying up.
“So, uh,” he says awkwardly, bending down to gather the empty ornament boxes. “What’s next on the agenda?”
You blink, trying to shake off the lingering warmth of his gaze. “I think we’re supposed to decorate the common room. Nat said something about needing backup with the garlands.”
“Right,” Steve says, straightening up with the boxes in hand. “Lead the way.”
As you head toward the common room together, you can’t help stealing glances at him. He’s trying so hard to act normal, but you know him well enough to sense when something’s off. There’s a tension in his shoulders, a hesitation in his words.
You wonder what’s on his mind. And you wonder if it has anything to do with the way he looks at you—like you’re the most important thing in the world.
Christmas morning in the Avengers Tower is a mix of chaos and cheer. The common room is alive with laughter and good-natured teasing, wrapping paper scattered across the floor like confetti. The massive Christmas tree glows softly in the corner, its branches weighed down with ornaments and twinkling lights.
Everyone has gathered here to exchange gifts, and the room feels warmer than usual—maybe because of the crackling fireplace, or maybe because of the bonds you all share. You’re sitting cross-legged on the floor, a pile of unwrapped presents beside you, and your cheeks ache from smiling so much.
Natasha is chuckling as Clint holds up a sweater that has “World’s Okayest Archer” stitched across the front in bold letters. “This is slander,” Clint grumbles, but he’s grinning. “I’m amazing.”
“Sure you are,” Natasha teases, her smirk sharp and playful.
Thor, meanwhile, is marveling at a “World’s Greatest Dad” mug that someone (probably Tony) had sneakily customized to include a picture of Thor holding Stormbreaker like a proud parent. “This,” Thor declares, raising the mug, “is a mighty gift.”
“Very mighty,” Tony quips from his spot on the couch, a Santa hat perched crookedly on his head. “You’re welcome.”
Steve sits near the tree, mostly quiet but smiling at the antics around him. He’s already unwrapped his gifts—a vintage Captain America action figure from Tony (complete with the original shield), a sturdy leather-bound journal from Natasha, and an assortment of hand-knit sweaters from Thor’s mother. He’s grateful for all of them, but his focus isn’t on the gifts anymore. It’s on you.
You’re radiant this morning, your laughter lighting up the room more than the Christmas tree ever could. Steve doesn’t know if it’s the cozy glow of the fireplace or the joy of the season, but something about you seems especially beautiful today. Not that you aren’t beautiful every day—but today, you’re breathtaking.
And it’s making him nervous.
Because tucked beneath the tree is one last gift. A gift for you. A gift from him.
“Looks like that’s the last of it,” Clint says, stretching his arms above his head. “Nice haul this year, guys.”
“Not quite,” Tony interrupts, pointing toward the tree. “There’s still one left under there.”
Everyone turns their attention to the tree, and you lean forward curiously. Sure enough, there’s a single box nestled beneath the branches. It’s wrapped neatly in silver paper, tied with a red ribbon, and it has your name on it.
Your brow furrows as you reach for it. “I don’t remember putting this here.”
“Must’ve been one of us,” Natasha says, though she looks just as intrigued as everyone else. “Check the tag.”
You glance at the label, but it doesn’t give you any clues. It simply says To Y/N—no indication of who it’s from.
“Secret Santa, maybe?” Bruce suggests.
“Someone’s being mysterious,” Tony says, leaning back with a smirk. “Come on, open it. Let’s see what you got.”
You hesitate for a moment, your fingers brushing over the ribbon. Whoever left this for you went out of their way to remain anonymous, and that makes you feel oddly shy. Still, curiosity wins out, and you carefully untie the ribbon, peeling back the wrapping paper.
Inside the box is a smaller velvet box. You blink, your breath catching as you open it.
Nestled inside is a delicate silver necklace, the pendant shaped like a tiny star. It’s simple but stunning, the kind of piece that feels timeless. You stare at it for a moment, your chest tightening.
But that’s not all.
Beneath the necklace, folded carefully, is a sheet of paper. You unfold it slowly, revealing a drawing—a sketch of you, caught mid-laugh. The details are astonishing, from the crinkle of your eyes to the way your hair falls. It’s you, but somehow more: the joy on your face, the warmth in your expression—it’s like the artist captured not just your likeness, but your spirit.
The room falls quiet as you stare at the drawing, your hands trembling slightly.
“Wow,” Natasha murmurs, leaning in for a better look. “That’s... beautiful.”
“It’s incredible,” you whisper, your voice thick with emotion. You trace the edge of the drawing with your fingertip, your heart racing. “Who...?”
“Not it,” Tony says, raising his hands.
“Wasn’t me,” Clint adds.
Everyone else shakes their heads, except for Steve, who sits frozen, his heart pounding so loudly he’s surprised no one else can hear it.
It was a gamble, leaving the gift anonymously. He couldn’t bring himself to sign his name, not when he was terrified of how you might react. But now, watching the way your eyes glisten as you hold the necklace and the drawing, he’s second-guessing everything.
Should he say something? Should he let you wonder? Should he...?
You glance up, scanning the room. Your gaze lingers on Steve for a moment, and he feels like a deer caught in headlights. He quickly looks away, pretending to adjust the hem of his sweater.
“Well, whoever it’s from,” you say softly, clutching the necklace in your hand, “thank you. It’s... it’s perfect.”
Steve lets out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. Perfect. You think it’s perfect. Relief washes over him, followed by a flicker of pride. He spent weeks working on the drawing, pouring every ounce of his feelings into every pencil stroke. Seeing you appreciate it—cherish it—is more than he could’ve hoped for.
But then you put the necklace on, and his chest tightens all over again. The star catches the light, and it suits you so perfectly that he has to look away before he does something stupid—like stare too long or blurt out the truth in front of everyone.
“Whoever did this really knows you,” Natasha says, eyeing the necklace. “It’s thoughtful.”
“And talented,” Bruce adds, gesturing to the drawing. “That’s some serious skill.”
Steve shifts uncomfortably, trying to hide his reddening face. He’s not used to compliments, especially not ones directed at his art.
“Guess I’ve got a secret admirer,” you joke lightly, though there’s a hint of hope in your voice.
“Or someone with terrible taste,” Tony quips, earning a pillow to the face from Natasha.
The room dissolves into laughter again, and the attention shifts away from you and your mysterious gift. But you’re still holding the drawing, your fingers brushing over the lines and shading. It’s so personal, so intimate, that it makes your heart ache in the best way.
And Steve? Steve sits quietly, watching you from the corner of his eye. He doesn’t know how long he can keep this secret, but for now, he’s content to see you happy. Even if you never find out it was him, this moment is enough.
Or at least, that’s what he tells himself.
The days between Christmas and New Year’s feel suspended in time—a cozy limbo filled with leftover cookies, twinkling lights, and lazy mornings. At the Avengers Tower, the pace has slowed to something resembling normalcy, with everyone enjoying a much-needed break.
You, however, have been anything but relaxed. Not since Christmas morning, when you opened that mysterious gift.
The necklace still rests around your neck, the tiny star pendant catching the light whenever you move. The drawing that accompanied it is safely tucked away in your room, though you’ve stared at it countless times since then. You can’t stop thinking about it—or, more specifically, about who gave it to you.
For days, you’ve replayed the moment in your mind, analyzing every detail. The craftsmanship of the drawing, the thoughtfulness of the gift—it could only be from someone who knows you well. Someone who cares about you deeply. Someone who, despite their care, wanted to stay anonymous.
And you have a pretty good idea of who that someone is.
Steve.
It’s the only explanation that makes sense. He’s been acting... different around you ever since Christmas. Quieter. More awkward. You’ve caught him stealing glances when he thinks you’re not looking, and when you smile at him, he stammers like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
The thought that Steve might like you—that he might really like you—makes your heart race. You’ve had a crush on him for what feels like forever, but you never imagined he might feel the same way. Now that you’ve started piecing things together, it feels almost too good to be true.
And yet, there’s still no confirmation. No grand confession. No slip of the tongue. Nothing to cement your theory. Which is why you decide to take matters into your own hands.
It’s late afternoon when you start your search for Steve. You’ve checked the gym, the kitchen, and even the lounge, but he’s nowhere to be found. Finally, you decide to check his room—a bold move, but you’re running out of options.
When you knock and get no response, you hesitantly push the door open.
“Steve?” you call softly, peeking inside.
The room is empty, neat and orderly as always. The bed is made, the desk is tidy, and his shield leans against the wall like it belongs in a museum. You step inside, glancing around for any sign of where he might be.
Your gaze lands on the leather journal sitting on his desk. The one Natasha gifted him for Christmas. It’s open, a pencil resting on top of its pages.
You know you shouldn’t. You really shouldn’t. But curiosity gets the better of you, and you find yourself drawn to the desk.
“It’s just a peek,” you mutter to yourself, your fingers brushing over the leather cover.
The page it’s open to stops you dead in your tracks. It’s a drawing—of you.
Not just any drawing, either. It’s almost identical to the one you received on Christmas morning, the same detail, the same expression, the same care in every line. Your breath catches as you realize what this means.
Steve drew this. Steve gave you the necklace. Steve has been hiding his feelings for you all this time.
A smile tugs at your lips, and a thrill runs through you. He likes you. He really likes you. And yet, he hasn’t said a word. Typical Steve—too noble, too careful, too worried about messing things up.
You close the journal carefully, placing the pencil back where you found it. You won’t confront him about this—not yet. No, you have a much better idea.
If Steve won’t confess, then you’ll make it impossible for him not to. And if that means teasing him a little, well... all’s fair in love and war.
You find Steve in the lounge a little while later, sitting on the couch with a book in hand. He looks up when you enter, and his face brightens instantly, though he tries to hide it.
“Hey,” you say, leaning casually against the doorway.
“Hey,” he replies, setting the book aside. “Looking for something?”
“Actually, I was looking for you,” you say, crossing the room to sit beside him. You’re closer than usual, your knee brushing against his. He stiffens slightly, his eyes darting to yours.
“Oh?” he says, his voice a little higher than usual. “What for?”
You shrug, tilting your head as you study him. He looks nervous—adorably so—and it only fuels your confidence.
“Just wanted to see how you’re doing,” you say, your tone light and sweet. “You’ve been kind of quiet lately.”
“Have I?” he asks, clearing his throat.
“Mm-hmm.” You reach out to adjust the collar of his sweater, your fingers grazing his neck. He freezes, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallows hard.
“You sure everything’s okay?” you ask, your voice dipping slightly.
“I—I’m fine,” he stammers, his cheeks turning pink. “Really.”
You lean back, feigning innocence. “Good. I’d hate to think something was bothering you.”
He nods, clearly unsure of how to respond.
You spend the rest of the evening finding subtle ways to fluster him. Leaning closer than necessary when you talk. Touching his arm when you laugh. Complimenting him on everything from his sweater to his hair. By the time you part ways, Steve looks like he’s been through an emotional whirlwind.
The next day, you up the ante.
Steve is in the kitchen making breakfast when you join him, your hair slightly tousled and your sweater slipping off one shoulder. He nearly drops the pan he’s holding when he sees you.
“Morning,” you say, your voice soft and syrupy.
“G-good morning,” he replies, turning back to the stove.
You step closer, peeking over his shoulder. “Whatcha making?”
“Just eggs,” he says, his grip tightening on the spatula.
“Smells good,” you say, resting a hand on his back. You feel the muscles beneath his shirt tense, and it takes all your willpower not to laugh.
“Want some?” he asks, his voice strained.
“Sure,” you say, flashing him a smile. “Thanks, Steve. You’re the best.”
His ears turn red, and you bite your lip to keep from grinning.
By the third day, Steve is visibly unraveling.
You’ve spent the last forty-eight hours being as sweet, flirty, and touchy as you can manage without outright declaring your feelings. Every time you brush against him, compliment him, or catch him staring, he looks like he’s about to combust.
You find him in the training room that afternoon, throwing punches at a heavy bag like it owes him money. He doesn’t notice you at first, and you take a moment to admire him—his broad shoulders, his focused expression, the way his sweat-soaked shirt clings to his chest.
“Working hard?” you call out, stepping into the room.
Steve pauses, glancing over his shoulder. “Oh, hey. Didn’t see you there.”
“Clearly,” you say, walking toward him. “What’d that poor bag do to deserve this?”
“Just... letting off some steam,” he says, wiping his forehead with his arm.
“Need a sparring partner?” you ask, raising an eyebrow.
His eyes widen slightly. “You want to spar? With me?”
“Why not?” you say, stepping closer. “Unless you’re scared I’ll kick your ass.”
A laugh escapes him, and you feel a spark of satisfaction. “I’d like to see you try.”
You grin, stepping onto the mat. “Suit up, Rogers.”
After a playful (and very one-sided) sparring session, Steve is more flustered than ever. You’re lying on the mat, catching your breath, and you turn to look at him.
“You’re holding back,” you tease.
“Didn’t want to hurt you,” he replies, still trying to recover from your relentless teasing.
“You’re sweet, Steve,” you say, your voice soft. “Really sweet.”
He looks at you, and for a moment, the tension between you is palpable. You’re half-tempted to just kiss him and get it over with, but you want him to make the first move.
“I should... hit the showers,” he says abruptly, standing and heading for the door.
As he disappears, you smile to yourself. He’s close to breaking. Very close.
And when he does, you’ll be ready.
It’s New Year’s Eve at the Avengers Tower, and the entire building is buzzing with excitement. Tony, true to form, has outdone himself, transforming the common areas into a glittering wonderland of gold, silver, and twinkling lights. The air hums with music, laughter, and the promise of a fresh start as the year draws to a close.
You’re in your room, standing in front of the mirror with a slight frown as you adjust your dress. The sparkly red fabric hugs your figure perfectly, but the zipper in the back refuses to cooperate. Despite twisting, stretching, and trying every awkward angle imaginable, you can’t quite reach it.
With a sigh, you grab your phone and type out a quick message:
Hey Steve, can you come to my room for a sec? Need a hand.
You press send before you can overthink it, a mischievous smile tugging at your lips. You already know he won’t say no—he never does when it’s you.
Steve arrives less than two minutes later, knocking lightly on your door.
“Y/N? Everything okay?” His voice, deep and warm, filters through the door.
“Come in!” you call out, keeping your tone casual. You hear the door creak open, followed by the soft sound of his boots against the floor.
“Y/N, I—” Steve starts, but the words die on his lips when he sees you.
You turn to face him, clutching the front of your dress to keep it from slipping down. His eyes widen, and his breath catches in his throat as he takes you in. The dress is a vibrant, glittering red that hugs your curves like a second skin, the hem brushing mid-thigh even with the extra height your heels give you. Your hair is styled elegantly, soft waves cascading over your shoulders, and your makeup highlights your features just enough to leave him completely speechless.
“Wow,” he finally manages, his voice barely above a whisper. His cheeks flush a deep pink, and he looks away, as if giving you privacy in a moment that clearly isn’t private.
You bite back a smile, pretending not to notice his reaction. “Thanks for coming. I need a little help.”
Steve clears his throat, his hands fidgeting at his sides. “Help with...?”
“The zipper,” you say, turning around to show him the back of your dress. You hold the fabric up with your hands, revealing the delicate, stubborn zipper that sits halfway down your back. “I can’t reach it.”
“Oh.” Steve’s voice cracks slightly, and he clears his throat again. “Right. Sure. I can do that.”
You hear him take a hesitant step closer, and your pulse quickens. There’s something thrilling about having him this close, about knowing he’s flustered because of you. He smells like clean soap and cedarwood, and the sheer size of him behind you is enough to make your breath hitch.
His large, calloused hands brush against your back as he takes hold of the zipper, and you have to resist the urge to shiver at the contact. He hesitates for a moment, clearly nervous, before carefully tugging the zipper upward. His fingers graze your skin as he works, and the sensation sends a rush of warmth through you.
“Is... is this okay?” he asks softly, his voice rough around the edges.
“Perfect,” you murmur, glancing at him over your shoulder. His face is closer than you expected, and the intensity in his blue eyes makes your heart skip a beat.
The zipper finally reaches the top, and Steve’s hands linger for a moment longer than necessary before he steps back, his gaze darting anywhere but at you.
“There,” he says, his voice tight. “All set.”
You turn to face him, giving a little spin. “What do you think?”
Steve stares at you, his mouth opening and closing like he’s searching for the right words. “You... You look amazing,” he says at last, his voice full of awe.
His honesty makes you blush, and you grin. “Thank you. You’re not looking too bad yourself, you know.”
Steve glances down at his outfit—a crisp navy suit that fits him perfectly—and rubs the back of his neck. “Uh, thanks,” he says, a shy smile tugging at his lips.
“You’re welcome, Captain,” you tease, stepping closer. “Shall we head to the party?”
“Y-yeah, sure,” he stammers, stepping aside to let you pass. His hand hovers near the small of your back as you leave the room, but he doesn’t quite touch you.
The elevator ride to the party is quiet, but not uncomfortably so. You steal glances at Steve as he stands beside you, his shoulders stiff and his jaw clenched like he’s holding something back.
“You okay?” you ask, nudging him lightly with your elbow.
“Yeah,” he says quickly, though the slight crack in his voice betrays him. He clears his throat, flashing you a tight-lipped smile. “I’m fine.”
“Steve.” You raise an eyebrow, a playful smirk tugging at your lips. “You’re acting weird.”
“I’m not acting weird,” he protests, but the redness in his ears says otherwise.
You decide to let him off the hook—for now. The elevator doors slide open, revealing the main event: Tony’s New Year’s Eve extravaganza.
The party is already in full swing by the time you and Steve arrive. The common room has been transformed into a glamorous ballroom, complete with a dance floor, a live band, and a fully stocked bar. Guests in glittering dresses and sharp suits mingle beneath cascading strings of fairy lights, and the energy in the room is electric.
“Y/N!” Natasha calls out, making her way toward you with a drink in hand. She gives you a once-over and lets out a low whistle. “You clean up nicely.”
“Thanks, Nat,” you say, twirling for effect. “You look amazing too.”
Natasha smirks. “Oh, I know.”
Steve hangs back slightly, his hands stuffed into his pockets as he watches you with a soft smile. He doesn’t seem to notice the way Natasha’s eyes flick to him, her smirk widening.
“Well, don’t you two make a picture-perfect couple,” she says casually, raising an eyebrow.
“We’re not a couple,” Steve blurts out, his face turning an impressive shade of red.
Natasha raises her glass in mock surrender. “Whatever you say, Rogers.”
She winks at you before disappearing into the crowd, leaving you and Steve standing awkwardly by the entrance.
“She’s relentless,” Steve mutters, rubbing the back of his neck.
“She’s not wrong, though,” you say, your tone light and teasing.
Steve looks at you sharply, his eyes wide. “What?”
You laugh, giving his arm a reassuring pat. “Relax, Steve. I’m just messing with you.”
His shoulders relax slightly, but the pink in his cheeks doesn’t fade.
The night unfolds with laughter, dancing, and plenty of drinks. You make a point to stay close to Steve, brushing against him whenever you can, leaning into him when you laugh, and catching his gaze across the room. Each time, his reaction is the same—wide-eyed, flustered, and utterly endearing.
At one point, you drag him to the dance floor, your hand firmly clasped in his. He protests at first, claiming he’s not much of a dancer, but you refuse to take no for an answer.
“You’ll be fine,” you assure him, pulling him close as the band starts a slow, jazzy number. “Just follow my lead.”
Steve hesitates, but when you rest your hands on his shoulders, he relents. His large hands settle on your waist, and the two of you sway to the music, moving in perfect sync despite his earlier protests.
“You’re better at this than you let on,” you say, tilting your head up to meet his gaze.
Steve chuckles nervously. “You’re easy to dance with.”
The compliment makes your heart flutter, and you tighten your grip on his shoulders. For a moment, it feels like the rest of the party fades away, leaving just the two of you in your own little world.
You’re about to say something—something bold, something that’s been on the tip of your tongue for days—when the song ends, and the moment is interrupted by a burst of applause.
Steve steps back, his hands dropping to his sides. “That was... nice,” he says, his voice soft.
“Yeah,” you agree, your chest tightening. “It was.”
You’re not sure how much longer you can keep up this game of subtlety and teasing. The clock is ticking, and the New Year is just around the corner. If Steve doesn’t make a move soon, you might just have to do it for him.
The party is in full swing as midnight approaches, the energy in the room building with each passing minute. The band has picked up its tempo, and laughter and clinking glasses echo through the air. You and Steve have stayed close all night, and now the two of you make your way toward the bar for a drink before the countdown begins.
“What’ll it be?” Steve asks, glancing at the menu. He’s been doing everything he can to appear calm, but the slight tremor in his voice and the way he keeps running a hand through his hair are clear giveaways.
“Champagne,” you say with a smile, leaning casually against the bar. “It’s tradition, isn’t it?”
“Good choice,” he says, signaling to the bartender. Moments later, two glasses of champagne appear in front of you, the golden liquid fizzing enticingly. You pick yours up and raise it in a mock toast.
“To the end of a very interesting year,” you say. “And the start of a better one.”
Steve clinks his glass against yours, his blue eyes warm. “I’ll drink to that.”
You take a sip, savoring the bubbly sweetness. The two of you fall into easy conversation, and for a moment, it feels like the rest of the room doesn’t exist. That is, until your eyes drift upward—and you notice the sprig of mistletoe hanging above you.
Your heart skips a beat, and a mischievous smile curls at the edges of your lips.
“Steve,” you say, your voice tinged with amusement.
“Yeah?” he asks, oblivious, before taking another sip of his champagne.
You tilt your head upward, your gaze fixed on the mistletoe. His eyes follow yours, and when he realizes what you’re looking at, he freezes.
“Oh,” he says, his voice barely audible. The tips of his ears turn bright red, and he looks away quickly, as if avoiding eye contact will somehow make the situation disappear.
“Did you know Tony hung mistletoe all over the tower?” you ask innocently, though the twinkle in your eyes betrays your intent.
Steve scratches the back of his neck, shifting awkwardly from foot to foot. “Uh, yeah. I might’ve noticed. He’s… thorough.”
You take a step closer, your heels clicking softly against the floor. Even with them on, you still have to crane your neck to look up at him. He’s towering above you, his broad shoulders blocking out everything else, and the nervous way he’s fidgeting is almost too cute to bear.
“So,” you say, your tone teasing. “What are we supposed to do when we’re under mistletoe?”
Steve swallows hard, his eyes darting between you and the small sprig above. “I—uh—well, I think… traditionally… people…”
You raise an eyebrow, waiting patiently as he struggles to form a coherent sentence.
“They kiss,” he finally blurts out, his voice cracking slightly.
You can’t help but laugh softly. “They do,” you agree. “It’s tradition, after all.”
His blush deepens, and he looks like he’s about two seconds away from bolting. You can see the internal battle playing out in his mind, the way he’s torn between his feelings and his nerves. The countdown begins in the background, voices ringing out in unison:
“Ten!”
“Steve,” you say, stepping even closer. “You know what I think?”
He blinks, staring down at you like a deer caught in headlights. “W-what?”
“Nine!”
“I think you’re overthinking this.”
“Eight!”
His mouth opens, but no sound comes out. You’re not sure whether to be exasperated or endeared by how utterly flustered he is.
“Seven!”
“Six!”
“Steve,” you say firmly, reaching up to place a hand on his chest. You can feel the rapid thud of his heartbeat beneath your palm, and it sends a thrill through you.
“Five!”
“If you don’t kiss me right now,” you whisper, your voice low and teasing, “I’m going to have to take matters into my own hands.”
“Four!”
“Three!”
Still, he hesitates, his lips parting as if to speak but no words escaping. You sigh dramatically, rising onto your tiptoes and tugging him down by his tie.
“Two!”
Before he can protest—or, more likely, overthink himself into oblivion—you press your lips to his.
The kiss is soft and sweet at first, your lips fitting perfectly against his. His initial surprise quickly melts away, and his hands come to rest lightly on your waist, steadying you as you lean into him. Even with your heels, he has to bend down significantly to meet you, and the height difference is so absurdly Steve-and-you that it makes you smile against his lips.
When you deepen the kiss slightly, sliding your hands up to his shoulders, he lets out a quiet, surprised sound that sends a rush of warmth through you. He tastes faintly of champagne, and the sheer rightness of the moment makes your head spin.
The countdown fades into a deafening roar of cheers and applause as the clock strikes midnight, but you barely notice. For this moment, it’s just you and Steve, wrapped up in a world of your own making.
When you finally pull away, you’re both breathless. Steve looks down at you, his expression a mixture of wonder, disbelief, and pure adoration.
“I…” he starts, his voice shaky. “I’ve wanted to do that for so long.”
You laugh softly, your hands still resting on his broad shoulders. “You don’t say.”
“I mean, I—uh—I’ve liked you for a while now,” he stammers, his words tumbling out in a rush. “A long while, actually. Since before last Christmas. And I wanted to tell you, but I didn’t know how, and then the gift—I mean, the necklace—I thought maybe it would say it for me, but then you didn’t say anything, and I—”
“Steve,” you interrupt gently, placing a finger over his lips to stop his rambling. He freezes, his eyes wide and uncertain.
You smile, rising onto your tiptoes once more to kiss him again. This time, it’s slower, sweeter, a silent reassurance that you feel the same way. When you pull back, you whisper against his lips:
“Happy New Year, Steve.”
He stares at you, his blue eyes shining with so much emotion it makes your chest ache. “Happy New Year, Y/N.”
And as the room around you erupts into celebration, you know this is going to be the start of something truly amazing.
I'm sorry (not really) but I can't imagine Steve as nothing else than a softie, like, I don't know where you all see the big dominant man...I see a puppy
Love in Contempt - Jade Leech x reader
When you take your ex, Jade to court over a ceramic octopus, the reason he wants it so badly might be sweeter than you thought.
Tumblr media
The whole thing started over a ceramic octopus.
Well, more specifically, it started over a breakup that was supposed to be clean and easy. But it wasn’t. Breakups never are. Especially not when your ex was Jade Leech.
You broke up with him because he teased you. Constantly. He would get that sly smile, those sharp eyes glinting with mischief as he’d say something cryptic or mildly condescending, and you were just done. You loved him, but it was too much. It felt like he was always one step ahead, always the clever eel while you were left floundering in his wake. It made you feel… well, dumb.
You didn’t like feeling dumb.
So, you packed your things. Or at least, you tried to. But there was this octopus—this stupid, ridiculous octopus sculpture you’d both found during a weekend getaway. You couldn’t just leave it behind. You both had picked it out. You both wanted it. And it was the last thread still tethering you together.
“You can’t take it,” Jade said with that infuriatingly calm voice as you grabbed it off the shelf. “We bought it together.”
“Oh really?” you scoffed, clutching it to your chest as if it was the most precious object in the world. “And why do you get to keep it?”
“I have… sentimental attachments,” he responded, though his smile was a little too sharp for someone who was supposed to be serious. “It reminds me of the fond memories we made.”
You blinked at him. “Jade, it’s an octopus. It’s not that deep.”
“It could be,” he replied smoothly. “Especially if you think about its place in the oceanic ecosystem—”
“I swear to Seven,” you muttered, interrupting him, “I’m taking you to court over this. You don’t even like the octopus. You just want to keep messing with me!”
Jade tilted his head, smile widening ever so slightly. “Would I ever do such a thing?”
“Yes!” you snapped.
Tumblr media
And that’s how you ended up hiring a lawyer.
Your lawyer, a no-nonsense beastman who looked like he’d rather be doing anything but dealing with this, had asked you point-blank, “Are you sure you want to take this to court? Over a ceramic octopus?”
You folded your arms. “It’s a matter of principle now.”
Jade, on the other hand, didn’t hire a lawyer. No, he was charming enough to represent himself. Besides, this was never really about the octopus for him. It was about seeing you again. About trying to figure out how the hell he could fix the mess he’d made when he hadn’t even realized he was making it. He was smitten—utterly, stupidly smitten—and teasing you was just what came naturally to him. He thought you understood that. He hadn’t realized it hurt you until you left him.
And now here you both were, standing in front of a very unimpressed judge.
“Let me get this straight,” the judge said, pinching the bridge of his nose. “You’re both here over… a ceramic octopus?”
You nodded fiercely, still clutching your lawyer’s sleeve. “Yes, Your Honor.”
Jade, standing there with his usual air of grace, merely smiled. “Indeed.”
“And you—” the judge gestured to Jade, “—you want it too? This… octopus?”
“Yes,” Jade said with a nod. “It’s of great… emotional value.”
The judge stared at him for a moment. “You don’t actually care about the octopus, do you?”
Jade tilted his head slightly. “What makes you think that?”
“Because this is ridiculous,” the judge replied flatly. “Why are you here?”
Jade glanced at you, and then his calm demeanor faltered. Just a little. He looked back at the judge, then at you again, his eyes softer than you’d seen them in weeks. “I’m here because I want… I want to make things right.”
Your lawyer cleared his throat awkwardly, but you just blinked. “Make things right?”
Jade took a breath. This wasn’t supposed to happen here, in a courtroom of all places, but there was something about standing under the judge’s judgmental stare that forced his hand. “Yes, I’ve been teasing you,” he said quietly, “but not because I think you’re dumb. Far from it. It’s just… my way of showing affection. It’s how I’ve always been. But I realize now that it made you feel like I wasn’t taking you seriously. That wasn’t my intention.”
The judge rubbed his temples. “Oh boy…”
But Jade wasn’t finished. His eyes locked with yours, no hint of teasing now, just raw sincerity. “I love you,” he admitted softly. “And I’ve been using this ridiculous octopus as an excuse to see you. To talk to you. Because I’m terrified that if I don’t, you’ll move on and I’ll never get another chance to tell you how I really feel.”
The courtroom went quiet. Your lawyer gave you a sidelong glance, as if silently asking if you were really going to let this continue.
You took a breath. “Jade…”
The judge sighed deeply, waving a hand at both of you. “Alright, that’s enough. Get out of my courtroom. You’re both ridiculous.”
Your lawyer sputtered, “But, Your Honor, the octopus—”
“Out,” the judge growled, pointing to the door.
The two of you stood there for a moment, awkward and silent, until finally, you both shuffled out of the courtroom, the octopus still very much in contention but now a distant second to the much more complicated emotions swirling between you.
Outside, you stopped, your lawyer nowhere in sight, leaving just you and Jade. He looked at you expectantly, almost nervously, which was strange for him. Jade wasn’t the type to get flustered.
You looked at him, then the octopus in your arms, and let out a long sigh. “You’re an idiot.”
He blinked. “Excuse me?”
“You should have just said something sooner,” you muttered, your voice softening. “Instead of hiding behind all your teasing.”
“I didn’t realize…” He trailed off, stepping closer. “I never wanted to hurt you.”
You let out a shaky breath, feeling the weight of his words settle over you. “I know,” you said quietly. “But I still need to know that you actually mean it when you say things like that. That you’re not just playing around.”
He reached out slowly, his fingers brushing yours where they held the octopus. “I promise, I’m not playing around. Not with you.”
You met his eyes and saw the truth there—saw the vulnerability he so rarely let anyone see. For all his teasing, for all his sly remarks, Jade was standing before you now, completely unguarded.
You smiled a little, the anger and hurt from the past few weeks fading, leaving behind only the feeling you’d always had for him. “I love you too, you know.”
He exhaled, relief flooding his features. “Does this mean…”
You held out the octopus. “Here. You can have it.”
His eyes widened. “I—no, I don’t actually want it. You keep it.”
“What?” you asked, incredulous. “But we just went to court over this thing!”
Jade’s lips twitched upward into a soft, mischievous smile. “Yes, but I only went along with it so I could keep seeing you.”
You stared at him for a long moment, then burst into laughter, unable to help yourself. “I can’t believe you…”
“Believe it,” he said, stepping closer. “As long as we’re not fighting over it anymore.”
You smiled, feeling the weight lift off your chest. “No more fighting. But don’t think I’m not going to hold this over you forever.”
Jade’s grin widened, his teasing glint returning. “I wouldn’t expect anything less.”
Just then, the courtroom doors creaked open. The judge stuck his head out, eyes narrowing at the two of you still standing outside.
“Well?” the judge asked dryly. “What’s the verdict?”
You and Jade exchanged an awkward glance before you both shuffled back inside, the octopus still cradled in your arms.
The judge groaned. “Let me guess. You’re back together?”
You gave a sheepish nod.
The judge let out a long, drawn-out sigh. “You two are banned from this courtroom. Now get out before I find a reason to hold you in contempt.”
As you and Jade slunk out of the courthouse, you couldn’t help but laugh. Jade glanced at you, his eyes soft and amused. “It seems we’re a bit infamous now.”
“Yeah,” you grinned, reaching out to take his hand. “But at least we’re infamous together.”
An aspect of the Theraprism plot element that I think is really important is that, as readers, I fully believe that we are meant to be uncomfortable with it.
It's fitting for Bill to end up in an environment where he is trapped and unable to exert power over others, and the fact that he describes the Theraprism specifically as "overmedicated" is a full-circle moment IMO. As a child, his bodily autonomy was disrespected through the medical abuse he was subject to, and when he became an adult, he abused others through violation of their own bodily autonomy (see: the entire section of the lost Journal 3 pages concerning the possession battle). Bill isn't unpersoned by the narrative -- the book makes clear that he has feelings, no matter how much he denies them -- but the Theraprism unpersons him. In a literal sense, it *will* unperson him by transforming him into a being that lacks higher consciousness. The Theraprism brands itself as an institution that operates on the principle of restorative justice but is in fact fundamentally punitive.
From the angle that Bill needs to face the consequences of his actions, it's perfect. He might not recognize the suffering of others -- he might not even acknowledge his own suffering -- but he will be forced to feel his own suffering either way.
But from the angle that Gravity Falls is a show about healing from the past and moving toward a future with those who love you, Bill's situation is an utter nightmare for someone like him. You can't argue that he isn't a tragic villain at this point because it is so clear by now that he is trapped by the past, both in terms of the flashbacks he is stated to experience and in the way that the Theraprism is a punishment for his past actions. And the Theraprism, when it comes down to it, is not meant to accomodate someone like Bill.
The Theraprism's goal is not to rehabilitate Bill, but to keep him there alone forever. His recommended treatment is "infinite karmic rehabilitation". That's not atonement, it's a plain and simple sentence to life in prison.
I think that tension is very intentional.
