Here. I’m a french reader, but I’ve read A LOT (like...a lot) of IronDad, so, eventually, here my fic rec. (I tried to class it by categories, but well...) (it’s gonna be very long, guys)

 Peter Parker has anxiety 

Don’t let me get me, by hopeless_hope 

He picks up his phone and sends a quick text. "hey, happy! i’m not feeling too hot today, so i think i’m gonna have to cancel. tell mr. stark i’m sorry!"

He stares at his phone, waiting for a response. It never comes, and Peter sighs sadly. There was a part of him, a small part, that really hoped he was wrong. His insides burn, and he curls up tighter into a ball and turns off his phone.

(No one’s going to try to contact him anyway.)

After everything that has happened to Peter over the last year - or five, really - he shouldn’t be worried about something as mundane as the ACT. When he fails it, though it sends him into a spiral of self-doubt, which only gets worse when Peter realizes that he doesn’t seem to be able to fix whatever is broken.

Because when Peter Parker is missing, things start losing their meaning real quick.

“Should be around here,” Rhodey says on the com. May is still on the other line, listening in, because once a certain amount of time goes by without word from Peter, things move into Extremely Worried Aunt territory. They’re already in Tony Is Panicking territory, and when both of those territories overlap it’s never a good time for anybody.

Time? What the hell is time? His mind is blanking numbers out entirely. Minutes are seconds are hours are years.

Tony knows that message by heart. He’s heard it hundreds of times, in a greyer world, and it sends shivers down his spine as he climbs into the car.

He doesn’t think about that place. That half-world. No way, that’s done, that’s over, that’s history.

“Hey, kid, don’t you know it’s bad etiquette to go and disappear on your birthday? Not allowed, really, really bad vibes from the universe. What’s going on with your suit? I wasn’t watching. Nope. Just got an alert. What’s going on? Uh, call me back.” He clears his throat and hangs up like a moron, driving out into the street.

Hypothermia trope (i really like it so if you have any suggestions...)

Peter tries to move his legs through the water, dread filling him when they don’t move, and he just hangs there, doing anything and everything he can not to focus on the feeling of ice clinging to his bones. He feels sluggish, the world blurring around him, and he rests his head on the ice, not even registering the cold anymore.

He’s just so damn tired.

“PETER!” he hears someone yell, but it’s all muffled, and he lazily drags his eyes up to see a figure descending towards him.

Somewhere, in the back of his mind, he thinks, This is not how my vacation was supposed to go.

While on what's supposed to be a relaxing vacation with the Starks, things for Peter quickly go south, and he finds himself on thin ice. Literally.

The rain falls harder and Tony turns, his neck creaking and cracking, and he sees Peter asleep over by the window. He’s holding a small, flat box, and he’s slowly slipping to the right side of the easy chair he’s in.

Tony thinks about letting him sleep, but he finds himself speaking anyway. “Pete,” he says, his voice rough and raspy.

Peter immediately startles awake. “Happy Birthday,” he says, almost like he’d fallen asleep practicing it, planning to say it as soon as he woke up. He blinks at Tony, shivering a little bit, and then he smiles. “Happy Birthday. Happy Birthday.”

Tony snorts, smiling back. “Thanks, bud,” he says.

Tony had adjusted to parenthood quickly when Morgan came along, and was always conscious of making sure Peter isn't left out ... Almost always. When Peter gets hurt while taking care of Morgan, Tony obsess over his daughter and takes his anger out on Peter, without even checking to see if he was okay. Steve finds Peter later that night in serious pain and in need of immediate medical attention.

Tony doesn’t sleep, because he can’t, because too many things are plaguing him, most of all where Peter is and what he’s doing. Tony has a good view of the hallway through the windows to his room, and he stares and stares until his eyes cross, until he hallucinates, until he knows he’s going insane.

He sees Peter sneaking into the med bay at about four in the morning.

The kid’s mask is off and he’s got two short, harsh slashes across his cheek, and he’s bleeding from a slice across his neck. His suit is ripped in a few places and he’s holding onto his middle, and Tony can see his hands are shaking.

It’s like something splinters in Tony’s already broken brain, like his world narrows and there are hazy edges, both weakness and strength entwining in his veins when he sees Peter struggle up onto one of the beds in the main atrium, starting to tend his wounds without calling anybody to help.

BAMF Peter Parker

“Tony. We’ll be fine,” Peter tells the man for what must be the tenth time in the last half hour.

Peter’s sitting on the couch of his and May’s apartment and building Legos with Morgan as they both watch their father’s methodical, yet anxious, pacing. He’s dressed to impress, as is Pepper who is watching the scene slightly exasperated.

“Are you sure? We can ditch the gala, kid. Just say the word,” Tony offers, halting in front of his kids.

Or: Tony and Pepper leave Peter in charge of Morgan while they go to their first gala since the third snap. Peter is expecting a calm night in with his adopted sister, but some thugs throw a wrench in his plans.

“Get the hell outta here, boy,” the man says. “Or you’re gonna watch your boss die in front of you.” Then he grabs Tony by the shoulders hard, and shoves him down to his knees. The gun is louder now, like it’s filled with words that are eager to be shouted, and Tony winces when he feels the barrel press against the back of his neck. His knees weren’t ready to hit the ground that hard, and he tries to keep the pain from reaching his face.

He must fail, because Peter looks pissed.

“You’re not gonna shoot him, mister,” Peter says, somehow still trying to maintain a respectful tone, despite the clear anger written all over him.

Peter leans against the wall while Tony chooses their floor, and the doors close. “Do you, uh, want me to do some interning stuff? Like go and get you coffee? Make sure the, uh—programs are all ready? Make sure the paintings are straight in the ballroom? Make sure the chairs are—”

Tony snorts. “Kid, I just thought you’d enjoy this. May told me about when it came through Queens but you two couldn’t make it because she was working and didn’t want you to go alone, and I thought, after all the shit you’ve been through lately, that you deserved something fun. No interning for you. That’s just an excuse.”

Peter remembers that. It was six months after Ben died, and he wasn’t gonna bother May too much about the conference. He didn’t know how much tickets cost anyways, or if kids his age could even go.

He really hung onto the idea of Iron Man after Ben died. Peter held him closer than ever.

The letters were written slowly and messily as they showed up upon his wrist while he watched in disbelief. Not sure if he was hallucinating or just going insane, Tony rubbed at the writing, wondering if they would disappear once he looked again.

The words were barely recognizable, but they were still the best thing Tony had ever seen.

Tony’s used to his clothes going missing. His MIT hoodie doesn’t often leave his closet, though, which is why he notices its absence straight away. There’s a lifetime of safety and comfort in this old hoodie, for both of them, and that’s all Tony could ever wish to give Peter.

Tony wouldn’t call himself Peter’s dad. He wouldn’t, he doesn’t, he doesn’t think of himself that way, no way, no way.

He stares at himself in the mirror. He pulls down on his cheeks, makes his eyes water. He runs his hands over the roughness of his jaw and sorta hates everything about himself right now, because he’s acting like a goddamn idiot. It’s Father’s Day and he’s not a father. He doesn’t know why the hell he’s pining for something that isn’t his, shouldn’t be his, can never be his. He isn’t a father, he isn’t Peter’s father, so there’s no reason on God’s green earth for Peter and him to do something for Father’s Day.

Peter has a list. Of all the places he applied to, all the places he got into. A lot of it was encouraged by the adult role models in his life, some of it by Ned daydreaming about places like California and Colorado. Mostly, Peter just applied everywhere he could think of, because he’s known for a long time that Tony was gonna help May pay for it, and he didn’t wanna limit his options. Thinking about college has been strange for him, strange to the extent that he had a full blown panic attack about it in the middle of Avengers taco night last month. He can’t really understand it, doesn’t get why it feels like the end of the world—because he’s experienced the end of the world, and it’s not which campus has a bowling alley and which school has circus classes. But he nearly blacked out all the same, sobbed in Tony’s arms on the balcony until Tony proposed this. The road trip.

Peter Parker was back from the dead. At least that is what everybody told him. He'd been snapped out of existence until some sort of time travel and an active death wish by his mentor had saved him and the universe. Just your average sort of life for a 16 year old from Queens.

Peter comes back to find May has a husband and a kid. A new family he has to fit into. But he has done it before, he can do it again.

The only thing that feels solid is Tony: the Blip and fatherhood have mellowed him and Peter loves the bond they have now. He knows Tony would be there for him through anything. But Tony needs to focus on his own recovery - not small time Peter Parker problems. When things at home take a turn for the worse, Peter decides that he'll handle it himself. He is Spider-man. He's been to space and fought aliens. He can get through anything. After all, if May is happy, he is happy, right? Right?

“He’s my kid,” Tony said, his voice hoarse. “He’s my kid and I failed him.” He covered his eyes and took a few deep, shuddering breaths. “All I ever do is fail him.” Natasha knelt down in front of him and cupped his face in her hands, waiting for him to meet her eyes before she said, “Right now, he doesn’t need you to fix this. He doesn’t need you down here. He needs you over there, in the medbay, by his side.” She thumbed tears from the corners of his eyes and ignored the ones running down her own face. “You haven’t failed him yet.”

Tony lands heavy on the dock, the wood splintering hard under the metal suit. He’s having trouble breathing, his nose is bleeding, he most definitely has more than the recommended amount of broken ribs. But none of that fucking matters. The sky is clear, the assholes are down, but there’s one thing missing.

He looks over his shoulder when Rhodey lands too. His suit is dented in a few places but other than that he looks alright. His face mask flips up and Tony lets his mask retract.

“Where’s Peter?” Tony asks, his voice rough with the amount of yelling he’s been doing. Fuck these stupid assholes. They were supposed to go mini-golfing today. The kid had been looking forward to it for weeks.

Rhodey looks around, breathing hard through his mouth. “I thought you knew.”

The pressure on his lower back and legs was becoming too much. Peter swallowed thickly, fighting down panic. He could handle this.

“Yeah,” Peter said. “I can do that.”

MCU steve. I literally just cannot stand him, like I know some people stopped liking him after cw but I just never liked him ever since I saw him in Avengers 1 (which was the first movie I watched that he was in). Fanon steve can be okay at times though.

23. Unpopular character you love?

I have quite a few. Pepper, Rhodey, Happy, Carol. I know I’m forgetting some but people need to stop sleeping on these characters!

A lot of fics with Tony being shipped with someone else love to hate on Pepper. She’s such a strong, powerful character and yeah maybe she made mistakes but she’s human. Just because it’s not a pepperony fic doesn’t mean people have to hate on her. Give me bamf Pepper any day.

Rhodey, where do I even start. He’s such a strong, powerful story with his own arc and everything. He’s loyal, strong, caring what more could you want? And people always tend to forget about him. He’s played such a major role and he’s pretty much ignored. Oh and they also seem to forget about Rhodey and Tony’s friendship, like no Bruce or Steve aren’t Tony’s bestest closest friends who have known him the longest, that’s Rhodey. Steve and Tony don’t even get along.

Happy, ok he’s only in the IM and spiderman movies but how can forget about him. He’s clearly close to Tony and very trustworthy and loyal. And he’s just mentioned as a driver even though he was Tony’s bodyguard, not his driver.

I don’t get why people don’t like Carol? She is very powerful I mean everyone is always going on about Wanda’s powers coming from the mind stone but her’s came from teh Tesseract so she’s so powerful to. I just love her story and her little found family with Maria and Monica is just perfect.

27. Least shippable character?

Peter. He’s 16 and so many people are shipping him with all sorts of characters (like st*rker ugh). Not all characters have to be romantically paired with someone?? And there’s literally Ned or MJ who are his age.

Right off the bat I can tell you a few things, just seeing this: it has ‘Maria Stark-centric’ written all over it, and, given I’ve got a boatload of Stark Family Feels™ especially where she’s concerned [no, really; I’ve got an entire AU going on that is just me playing with BAMF!Maria in various scenarios], I think you can see where this is going. Heads up for not being Howard-friendly, plus some not-very-family-friendly stuff all-around:

Here’s the thing: it takes a special sort of woman to marry one of the most prominent ironmongers in America. Takes a spine of steel and nerves to match, being the wife of not just one of the biggest weapons companies in the country, but also one of the founders of a vague yet menacing government agency and in the spotlight 24/7. 

Funny, how that doesn’t make it into the history books. Funny, how everyone forgets a smile is nothing more than a baring of teeth.

Everyone forgets, apparently. Not that Maria minds—it makes holding down the fort so much easier when everyone’s underestimating her. When just about everyone dismisses her just as Howard’s trophy wife, or the mother of his child. 

Well. Makes it easier for her to work, anyway. Makes it a cinch, to play things up with PR, when the world does half the job for her, of painting her as something soft and warm and demure, when she’s never backed down a day in her life. 

…which does not always bode well, actually. 

Here’s the thing: her marriage’d been crumbling for a while now, between Howard’s nonexistent work-life balance, and his alcohol problem on the rare occasions he was home. They’d had fights—what couple didn’t?—but lately things’ve gotten increasingly strained, to the point where he’s breaking plates and she’s white-knuckling the silverware. But that, she can take, that’s not where she draws the line. 

No, her limit is when her soon-to-be-ex raises a hand against their son. 

Here’s the thing: Howard has all the power in this situation, if they were to ever file for divorce. He’s got the money, and the influence— if he wanted to, he could get sole custody from whatever judge he wants, and they both know it. 

It takes a month, for her to make the arrangements. To call in favors, to get the money without raising any alarms and raise hell on the way out. 

Because Howard made the same mistake almost everyone else had: he underestimated his wife. Forgot that he wasn’t the only one with access to sensitive documents, when he took his work home, and between the SHIELD paperwork and the business deals at SI, well…

The same day Maria walks out with her son, a suitcase, and two bus tickets, Howard can’t do a thing about it. Not when he’s busy putting out all the fires that arose from a myriad of leaks, because suddenly now the press is aware of SHIELD’s existence, and of Operation Paperclip, and of Obadiah’s dubious connections. Howard can’t do a thing about it, and the trail quickly goes cold even as rumors of double-dealing start to float around. 

And in the meantime, a single mother and her eight-year-old son move into a small town, and settle in. 

They make waves at first, of course—especially Anthony, because he’s shaping up to be a whiz with computers— and years pass. Tony almost singlehandedly starts the school’s robotics club, and things only go up from there. 

Howard never really stops looking, but now he’s got not just one, but three people to find, and given how much of a hassle it’s been just to find Steve? Yeah, that’s not going anywhere. Doesn’t help that JARVIS is constantly monitoring anything that’d indicate they’ve been found, either. Add in the spectacular mess Maria left behind for him to deal with […which actually ended up fixing the bulk of stuff later on in the MCU, including uncovering Obadiah and HYDRA], plus the letter she left behind, and it is very, very obvious she’s not about to go back anytime soon. Not sure if he’d remarry or not, because on the one hand, Maria burned just about every bridge there was, but the other hand, he wants to find his son [prodigy heir to the throne and all that].

Irony is, it’s the Winter Soldier who ends up finding them, because of Reasons.

Completely by accident, mind, because he got loose when Maria did what she did and HYDRA burned, and so you’ve got this mostly-amnesiac assassin stumbling into the picture. Tony has a field day with his arm, Maria has a heart attack because she thinks he’s one of Howard’s men, and what you get is Tony growing up with Bucky as an uncle figure because Maria quickly ends up taking him under her wing as well.

Years pass, and things continue in this vein. Tony has a great childhood with people who love and support him the best they can despite sharing a tiny motorhome with a leaky shower and iffy plumbing, which is way, way better than the vague memories he has of an empty mansion and—well. 

…you get the point. just— the idea of Maria taking absolutely no prisoners where her family’s concerned. None. Because it takes a special sort of woman to marry one of the biggest names in the arms industry, and if you go after her child she won’t just annihilate you, she’ll salt the earth as well. 

Bonus: Tony ends up going to college, making waves along the way because hello, genius, and starting his own company. In green energy, and robotics, instead of weapons, because here he’s allowed to explore what he wants and between DUM-E, You, and JARVIS, it’s pretty damn obvious where his interests lie. Not sure if Howard’d ever find out, but if he does it’s a very, very bitter pill. Especially because he’s seeing all the potential his son had, and that his wife basically stole his legacy away, combined with how successful Tony is now, is…well, not pretty. 

there’d be a bittersweet ending in here somewhere, probably.

Into the process

So, I thought it might be interesting to see how I plan out my scenes. Or no one could care. Either way, I’m putting it down here.

Dialogue has always been the easy part for me. I hear people’s voices in my head so clear. Mannerisms, ways they describe things, the use of nicknames... all of that is the easy part. 

Once I have the dialogue and general idea of the scene, then I flesh it out, build things up around the scene. It’s like I grabbed a giant slab of marble, and I know what I want it to look like at the end, and I just make the marks on the stone and start chiseling it away. The dialogue are those first few hammer falls, when I know the rough outline and use it to temper the whole piece.

The rest is finesse and fleshing it out the rest of the way.

This bit of wording I’m doing has started to solidify in my head and I’m starting the rough pesudo-first outline (the original was shared with @octobergryphon and I think I remember her saying how frantic it looked like because I wanted to get it all out of my head before it faded.)

This is the second rough outline with the words and the characters and spefic scenes. I’m including below what it looks like. There’s a little bit of spoilers I guess, but really it’s nothing that hasn’t been seen before in all kinds of fics. So, without further ado (should this interest you in any way) here is the TERRIBLY ROUGH and DEFINITELY NOT FINAL stream of consciousness for one of the scenes toward the beginning of the story!

Boss, two thermal signatures just appeared in your rooms. Pepper home early? No, Ms. Potts' plane isn't due to arrive until ten. Where'd they come from? Nowhere. Frowning, Tony spun in his chair, narrowing his eyes at the door behind him. What do you mean, nowhere? A window, a jet, the elevator? I quite literally mean nowhere. They weren't there, now they are. Should I respond as if they're a threat? Are they a threat? Who is it? Based on the facial recognition, one of them is Doctor Stephen Strange, retired neurosurgeon. The other is Steve Rogers. his steps falter. What would you like me to do, boss? Have countermeasures ready. Find out what you can about Strange and send it to me. Not sure how you managed to get past security on your way up, but you should know that authorities were already informed of your arrival and will be here momentarily. You might want to call that off, Stark. The last thing we need are police involved You just broke into my home. Out of necessity. Tony shifts his gaze from Strange to Tony. Rogers. Tony. What is this. How'd you get inhere. WHY are you here. My name is - Stephen Strange, yeah, I know. neurosurgeon. Was in an accident, ruined your career. Illustrious. Didn't I donate money to a charity of yours? Once upon a time. I see you've taken a page out of Point Break's book. Not sure capes are in this year this isn't a cape, it's a cloak, and trust me, you don't want to make it angry i wouldn't like it if it was angry. How about you tell me why the hell you broke into my place and why I shouldn't have Friday put this whole place on lockdown until the cops get here One, it wouldn't matter where you were, I could have found you. Second, the fate of the world is at stake. *blink* Oh, you thought I'd be surprised? News flash, the world is at stake every day. More so since we lost some of its best defenders. They didn't lose you, Tony I wasn't talking about me. - glare - the world. stakes. forget the foreplay and just get on with it I had a vision and I saw - a vision yes you had a vision yes *sigh* and I should care about this because I see now why you fought with him it was more complicated than that was it? Look, I don't care what stupid thing you two broke up over (both glare) all I know is that if we don't all work together, then we have absolutely no hope to win the war that is coming. What war? - Steve THE war.The one you wouldn't prepare for. The one Bruce and I created vision for. The one that let the chitari destroy half of Manhattan. THE war. There is a force in this universe and his end goal is here, on this planet. Who Most know him as the Mad Titan. You'll know him best as the creature who gave Loki the scepter. What's he want among other things, he's after this *shows time stone. Explains infinity stones* And this is imminent it's coming are we talking weeks, months? I'm not sure Then how the hell We need to start now. I know <i>why</i> we lost. yeah? This. This animosity. whatever you guys have got going on needs fixed. You know, Barnes said the same thing, but I don't care. I don't care if your delicate feelings were hurt or that you're no longer best friends, my sole worry is the fate of this planet. If we work together, we survive. if we don't, everything we know will cease to exist. So go to therapy, beat the hell out of each other, I really don't care, but not working together is no longer an option. Tony looks to Steve. You believe him? I traveled here in a circle of orange sparks. He wasn't lying about being a magician I'm not a mag... you know what, I don't care. Call me a magician, but I am telling the truth. Oh, you'll enjoy this part because it involves your "friend" Steve frowns Ross was working with Alexander Pierce. what. how did you - I've been watching Ross for a while now. After the bullshit he's done to bruce. i wanted to make sure he was on the up and up. Turns out he worked with Pierce. He was a second spear in Pierce's plan. You foiled the helicarriers and his plan, so they went with their contingency. The accords. Just another power grab from the rot already inside the system. The paper trail was hard to piece together, but we made it work what are you saying I'm saying that in *looks at watch* thirty-six hours, documents will be provided to the president proving that the Accords wren't what they were touted to be. They're going to go away? No. I still believe one-hundred-percent that we have to have some kind of oversight, but the Accords aren't that any longer. I've got a meeting with the world council next week. I'm sponsoring a different kind of agreement, and I have it on good authority that, in doing so, all the charges issued under the original accords will be vacated. Tony - Don't get me wrong, there's going to be SOMETHING put in place, but for the time being, you and yours will be allowed to return home. Tony, why did't you - Did you mean it? Mean what? What you said. in your letter. About being here if I needed you? absolutely. 100%. Look, I might have a good handle on how this whole 'family' thing goes, considering my old man and the man I saw as an uncle selling me out to terrorists then trying to kill me, but I'm under the assumption that families fight, but they always come back. If what Mister Magic says is true, we fall divided. I don't know about you, but I'm getting pretty tired carting around this chip on my shoulder. Could use another set of hands. What was it you said? The safest hands are our own? Well, here's your chance to share the load. I thought you said the authorities would be notified the second I showed my face yeah. well, I lied. Took that page out of your book, but I'm willing to erase the last chapter and start on Act II if you are. See? That wasn't so hard. Where did you find this guy? He found me. And Bucky. In Wakanda. Team Tony Stark: Post-CA:CW Prompt 1

Okay so imagine post the clusterfuck that was CA:CW Team Cap wants to go back to the U.S./or they need his help with Buckys treatment (B.A.R.F.) and so they try to contact Tony. But they can’t. Because he got rid of the phone ((ugh the phone) because obvs he knows they’re in Wakanda -no i don’t need your sanctimonious flip-phone Rogers stuff it- and that letter was just plain offensive) and well they’re fugitives so their options are fucking limited. So while trying to see how they can get a message to him they notice that he communicates with someone on the downlow all very hush hush and they get curious (hence using their superspies to get info (i imagine the Black Widow joined them)) and guess who they find on the other end of the communication (messages, skype, phone calls, e-mails, letters)? HARLEY! So they’re like ‘wtf is Stark doing with a kid’ and they somehow manage to kidnap him (using T'Challas jet since it has a no detection thingy?) and T'Challa is pissed because ‘wtf were you thinking kidnapping a child?? You’re FUGITIVES IDIOTS! And that’s practically Tony Starks kid do you have a deATH WISH?!?!?’ And they’re all like ‘Stark has no kids, he doesn’t know we’re here, it’s just for a little while don’t worry’ and T'Challa is practically having and aneurysm because he has been getting to know Tony Stark (repairing the Accords) and he fucking knows that Stark knows that he knows that he knows that Team Cap is in Wakanda (he just doesn’t give a fuck (as long as they’re under surveilance and out of the way not fucking up another country he’s fine with it)) and these idiots have no fucking idea who they’re dealing with, because he has seen Stark dealing with the UN, the WSC, the military, the media, fucking everyone and twirling them around as he wants, and he has seen his eyes, they’re ruthless, dark (Siberia broke something in him, but Stark men are made of iron and he’s had no heart since he got the Arc Reactor taken out maybe he never had one, Starks don’t cry and they don’t break, and he’s a mechanic he can fix anything but it doesn’t always end up how it was before) and he knows that he’s treading on a very fine line before he snaps and he regrets that this may be what pushes him over the edge (he has seen Stark increase security around those he lets inside his walls Peter, Pepper, Rhodey, Vision, F.R.I.D.A.Y., Happy, and he didn’t know about Harley but after what Team Cap told him about their interactions it’s easy to see he considers him a son) and he will consider this an attack no matter what the misguided ex-Avengers meant to accomplish by doing this, and he has no wish to see the destruction Stark will bring, because no matter what the ex-Avengers think about Tony Stark being helpless and a civilian he used to be the Merchant of Death and you can’t sell Death without distributing your share of it, (he knows Tony Starks history, people think Iron Man was born from the ashes of Tony Stark in a dry cave in Afghanistan like a Phoenix, but Tony Stark never burned and the only ashes that got left behind were those of his captors those of the people who thought they could control him and break him (Stark men are not weak) and Iron Man was not born on a cave because Iron Man is Tony Stark and Tony Stark is Iron Man there is no one without the other (Stark men are made of Iron) and he will do what he thinks must be done, he will dirty his hands, mark them with red (they forget he made a conscious decision of killing the terrorists both in the cave and Gulmira (funny how people forget what they don’t want to believe)) and he may have not hurt the ex-Avengers during the war when he considered them family, but family they are no more (not since Siberia ‘did you know Rogers?’ ‘Sometimes my team keep things from me’ the feel of hands on his reactor, a shield breaking his metaphorical heart, the feel of death trying to pull him under, the cold seeping through the suit, his mothers screams stuck in his head and the burning of betrayal (and resignation-he always knew they would leave, everyone leaves)) and now they have taken his pseudo-kid ('you know what keeps running through my head?’ 'Where is my sandwich?’) and the last good will he had left towards them was used when he ignored Ross’ phone call (he let them escape, less chance of commiting murder if he can’t see them) so there are no safeguards in place that will save them from his hands, from his retribution, haven’t you heard it’s not good to rouse a beast (but they’re blind aren’t they? They see prey not a predator (it’s always good to be underestimated, makes them easier to take down 'Iron Man yes… Tony Stark not recommended’)?

So I want my BAMF! #smolchild Tony Stark to put Team Cap in it’s place by being the ruthless son of a bitch we all know and love.

+Harley having a watch!gauntlet like Tonys from CA:CW and using it against them, maybe locking himself in a room and threatening them if they come closer (with Shuri looking smug (because we all know she doesn’t like Team Cap (they’re too entitled)) and she is happy to see them being put in their place and she thinks that if anyone is willing to threaten enhanced individuals in favor of Tony Stark with such fierce determination then Stark must be worth getting to know) ++T'Challa/Tony building relationship (IronPanther is bae) +++Tony has become a pseudo-father/uncle to practically every enhanced (or not) kid around (Kamala, Peter, Harley and his sister, Cassie Lang, Cooper, Lila and Nathaniel Barton (because you bet your ass that he evacuated them from their living spaces before Ross could get to them (or the masses))), Vision and F.R.I.D.A.Y. (because it may hurt him but Vision is basically his grandchild (from both Ultron and Jarvis) and FRI is like another daughter (she’s practically a baby)) and the kids are pissed at Team Cap (because they saw Tonys injuries (he can no longer wear the Iron Man Armour (the shield did a vast number on him, his lungs and his artificial sternum))) maybe they had to use the Extremis (or I would love if he needed to use an Arc Reactor again (maybe in a smaller size/scale so it doesn’t get too deep since it’s obvious it causes problems with his lung capacity (it was pretty fucking deep in his chest(miracle he still could breathe))) and he’s fucking lucky he survived, so they’re petty towards them (specially Kamala, Peter and Harley) ++++ And Team Cap is like 'wtf’ 'why are you defending 'Tony Evil Overlord’ (trademark pending)

Practically I just want Team Cap to see how BAMF! my #smolchild is, for Tony to recuperate his self-worth by being surrounded by people who actually see him and see the good in him, and for him to have a #TonyStarkProtectionSquad

so remember that scene from the avengers where Tony says a science thing and Bruce says a science thing back and Tony goes, "Finally, someone who speaks English!" You remember that scene? Okay but imagine it with Sans and Elizabeth and Sans is like, "here, c'mon, this way, i know a shortcut" and she takes his hand and they step into a shadow and out onto the snow, and she goes, "was that a quantum fold? No, wait, it was--more like a quantum entanglement. And you nudged it just enough to force it to carry us down a specific path. Huh. Can you sense the weak points in the weave of reality or are you opening them at will?" and Sans just looks up at her all super starry eyed and is like, finally! Someone who speaks English!

But it's kind of a perfect pairing! Like, and not even romantically? Platonic soulmates, cause Elizabeth is still not over being haunted by the idea that every dude she has really strong feelings for is somehow her dad and Sans is a goddamn skeleton, he doesn't do sexings so well? So they like wander through the lighthouses together and OH how much would she love the blasters, it's like little mini perfectly controlled songbirds and he summons them for her to dance with ohhhh

I'ma call it Timeline Shenanigans and Elizabeth will show up and stomp the reset system and Sans will be in perfect awe of her and she will be so broken (post game Elizabeth) that she like doesn't even register his puns for a while? But she looks at him and sees that he suffers like she does only for less (but nobler) reason and how bamf he can be, and she takes him to save all the Papyruses and he gets her to slow down and actually live again omg it would be so sad but precious

His shortcuts plus her tears, they can go literally anywhere in space and time.

They show up behind a few Comstocks just long enough for a blaster beam, cause it makes her laugh. She helps him save a few Gasters and they watch what that does to timelines. They go to all the Parises.

They occasionally open tears to pull Paps through, sometimes for pasta, sometimes to monologue at misguided idiots. It's always a crap shoot as to whether or not the tear they shove him back through actually takes him home. He has his own hilarious adventures through the au Undertales because close enough, right? So he makes friends till the next time they summon him again.

it would be SO CUTE like they're at this cafe in alternaParis mark 3 and Sans goes, hot damn this raviloi is amazing, hey, Liz, darling, ya mind? And she's like, pfff, anything for you, ~darling~, because it's a fancy place so they're pretending to be over the top flirty (which he always is, and she sometimes deigns to ply along) so she opens the tear and he pulls the rift and suddenly Paps is stumbling out into the restaurant holding like a bouquet of wilted flowers, a broken bone and a frying pan, and he just kinda stumbles to a chair all shocky-like and is like, "that universe is was the worst, never send me back there again plz" and they're like yeah sure whatevs here try this pasta! And of course he perks up and is like, this is amazing! so they get him a plate of it to go and she opens a tear and he shoves Paps back through and it's probably the right original verse he came from this time, probably, at least close enough, so they get dessert and prance down the boardwalks, changing universes through tears whenever the music stops and snatching random bottles of super expensive wine to chug and giggling and meanwhile Paps is like, wowie that pasta is good gee I wonder where i am this time, sigh.

It would be "Sans and Elizabeth Do the Timeline (And Also Bonus Papyrus's Exciting Multidimensional Travel Which He is Resigned To Because Sans Is Too Lazy To Make Sure He Gets Back Home Correctly)”

 He like, doesn't mind it at all, cause yeah he gets to see new places and meet all kinds of new friends, and Sans doesn't really worry 'bout him cause he's always making sure the timeline he's sending Paps to has at least a Sans in it, and he ditches him relatively close to said alternaSans so he knows Paps will always be okay. And besides, Liz is pretty good about choosing safe tears. Okay, so Underfell that one time wasn't the best choice, but Papyrus is too aggressively adorable and trusting to really get hurt.

So they're in like, I dunno, Columbia or Rapture or something and Sans is like, holy shit, a flying/sunken city, this is so cool, hey, hey, Liz, let's show Pap! And Liz has grown a bit jaded over tears and sans is really chill about them, so they both revel in Papyrus's neverending awe of their wonders, so they always drag him away to show him cool shit. Anyway, so they pull Papyrus through as per usual and Sans is like, "hey, check it out bro, the city is actually--what. what is that. what is that on your face." "NYEHEHE WOWIE THE CITY IS FLOATING THIS IS INCREDIBLE" "no shut up hang on what the FUCK HAPPENED TO YOUR FACE Papyrus" and Liz is already tracing back the tear and she's like, "this cannot be allowed to stand" because she loves watching Papyrus discover all the things too, and tho she knows how awful the worlds can be, here is someone who truly does not ever deserve that. So she says, "Hey, Paps, there's an ice cream shop over there with a billion flavors, my treat" and she says, "here's the door Sans, I'll reopen it in twenty minutes, do have fun and s h o w  t h e m  a  b a d  t i m e" And drags Paps off to be distracted and he barely even notices Sans is gone until he's back and Underfell was ~never the same again~ But the upside is, in the shared trauma of afterwards, no one in that universe dared to touch their Papyrus or Sans again, for gear of a cuddly blue Sans coming back to rampage indiscriminately and Sans suddenly gets all the respect too and the brothers get a bit closer cause of it.

But even like the first few times they did it, Paps was like sitting slumped at a table with Alpyhs and Undyne because he can't find his brother and is all mopey and worried and the two are like, "don't worry, I'm sure he's fine," and all the other platitudes and then pop, a tear opens right behind his chair, he gets blue'd and dragged back through it, and the tear closes. The two barely have time to react before it reopens and he comes marching back through with presents and new types of pasta and a nyehehehe that is so loud and cheerful and he's like, oh! You guys are still here! I'm so sorry for being a bad host, were you waiting long? And they're like, no, two seconds, srsly, u ok? but what about your brother-angst? and he is like pfft, Sans is fine, look at all this cool junk he got me! And so now everyone in his home universe is just like, oh Paps disappeared again, wonder where he's off to now, sigh
