Genuinely, I want to apologize to everyone who saw it but how was I even supposed to know it was mysoginistic to begin with??? Was it my lack of tone indicators? Was I already on a last strike? Was I annoying already and no one told me anything?

There are reasons I don't want to make the effort.

In her recent interview, she mentioned how misogynistic the Dsmp fanbase was and how none of the men of the servers spoke out about it when Dream has done it multiple times.

Not only that but the people she says she doesn't affiliate with anymore are literally the only one who treated her fairly but Q.uackity and T.ommy are people she interacts with (especially the former) when they were the one treating her unfairly; only seing her as a woman.

When W mentioned admiring Pokimane, T.ommy immediately asked him how Niki would feel and if she knew about it , calling W a "player" By doing so he's obviously insinuating that W and Niki relationship is romantic which is something she's been really uncomfortable with for so long. And when she joined the vc he immediately told her about it with Q.uackity joining him, which is really uncomfortable when they're expecting her to react badly and feed into the 'women hating each other for a man's attention’ plot and she was just so uncomfy with it she just gave one curt answer answer immediately went next to someone else in the game so they could move on.

And they immediately did, they didn’t even interact with her other than this.

Hmm okay one thing I will say is that it does need to be acknowledged that the dsmp fandom /did/ treat niki poorly. However, I don't know if I would attribute that to one specific creator or if it was a byproduct of the gaming space generally being incredibly misogynistic and that bleeding into the fandom behavior (still not ok obviously). I do think there is definitely room to criticize the men on the server for not being more openly against the misogyny in the gaming space but I think that can be applied to most mc servers imo.

I will say that niki's feelings about this are always valid of course, but she shouldn't really single out one specific dsmp person over another for being more or less misogynistic or anything like that without proof that they contributed more to the bad environment. And by implying that the reason she doesn't associate with certain people (like dream) is because he is somehow worse than Tommy or Quackity, that's kinda disingenuous.

It's far easier to broadly talk about misogyny in the gaming/minecraft space as a female creator than it is to try to be shady at one creator specifically especially when in this case, I'd argue Dream has tried to do a lot privately and publicly to support the women he knows in this space.

Now, I have not watched this video so I don't know if she actually was implying Dream specifically. So if that's not the case, then a lot of this doesn't really apply to some of the other men on the server considering I did not see vocal support of women from all of them an equal amount.

Also to say that she doesn't affiliate with some of them (let's just assume in this case she /is/ talking about Dream) is kinda untrue considering last september she was hanging at the droncert and invited Dream over her house to play with her cats. And as far as we know, Dream has been nothing but kind to niki since and there have been no issues.

I understand that niki feels like she was treated poorly by the dsmp fanbase and yeah, they were horrible to certain people so I completely get it. However, it's strange to act like cutting /certain/ dsmp men off and then still hanging around /others/ doesn't go against what she said about /all/ of them being bad...? idk that's just confusing to me.

Time to share some Starry lore because I’ve got a cute scene in mind. I love to vocal stim, sounds, phrases, but particularly songs. I’ll hear a song that feels just right and I’ll sit and chew it for hours til my throat’s sore. Currently favorite is The Valentine in Starfield (Is it still a sea shanty if it’s in space?). The reason I bring this fun fact up is because I can just see myself sitting for hours stimming with boys over new songs. Especially if it’s any new pieces for the theater. While the scripts and lyrics are predesigned by Fazbear, there’s something unquestionably their’s in performance that make it worth repeating. Worth remembering. Humming through daily tasks. Parroting their tone, their voice. Another sign of their existence that’s more then the capacity to destroy, then just simple property… They do end up being slightly upset when the Glamrocks try to introduce their songs to stimming sessions. Back to BaL! Sometimes, for fun, all 3 purposefully mess with the cadence or pitch, either to make each other laugh or just to get creative or because it sounds nice, and they end up liking something and it's like "!!!!"

When they sing that version later, it feels like theirs -- like it's those moments spent together. Proof of their existence and how it affects the world around them positively. Reminders that they're loved, and they love (in a cosmic kind of way, but also it's a self insert so fuck it we BaLl (aaaay finally used the joke @lavenoon fgjdfklgjld).

Also yeee I can see them being really, ACTUALLY insulted when one of the animatronics, who doesn't know because those little sing-stimming sessions are private with Y/N, jokes about how those songs are lame and they should be singing some of theirs instead because they're catchier. Oof

Which, just now, made me realize that BaL Sun's anger runs cold, so he just goes totally silent, straightens up and get that intense stare. Maybe Moon's even the one who talks through the speaker to deflect and does that overly-sweet anger of like "Catchy, huh? Hopefully we don't catch those inflated egos of yours -- there's barely enough space for all of us and your big heads as it is! Back to the singing, I think that another thing that they do especially well is that they can sing at the same time, so even for solos they can add back vocals to each other, or play around with the pitch since they do-and-don't share a processor and can adapt in microseconds -- wait actually they can definitely sing rounds, too!!

Oh my god now I'm imagining them singing rounds with vastly different moods at the same time, perfectly calibrated so that both of them come out loud and clear and also enhance each other's -- lining up or losing one of their voices at just the right moment to be chilling. It's like you're getting the song and the reprise but both at once

Both of them hard yes. Aktare Loves situations and would love to show off the new backflip meta she's invented. Rosencrantz hard "why not". He would probably eat shit immediately but he'd be fine so

2. would your character carry around a tiny bath and body works hand sanitizer? if yes, would it have a specific scent?

Rosencrantz would adore hand sanitizer for anything but he'd carry around a normal sized bottle I think and it would be unscented because he unironically likes it. His incense smells like licorice and disinfectant canonically so if you gave him actual hand sanitizer he would appreciate it. They put alcohol in a gel huh? That's crazy

Aktare however is definitely the target market for this but xe hates how hand sanitizer makes xer hands feel so while she would enthusiastically steal hand sanitizers with funny scents by the handful she wouldn't end up carrying any around

3. does your character paint their nails? do they wait for them to dry fully afterwards?

Aktare does when she gets xer hands on the material to! Xer nails grow quickly so when she's staying somewhere with access to nail polish xe can do it a lot. She is awful at waiting for them to dry though

Rosen doesn't do it on his own steam but Aktare wanted to prove xer skills so she painted his nails abt it because if anyone can sit there not using its hands for 5 hours it's Rosencrantz. It was a good day

6. what parts of your character’s voice/manner of speaking are distinct, if any?

Aktare I've actually not played at a table in a long while, and her voice I'm still kind of wrangling, but where I'm at with xer, I think the most notable thing is the range. In one man band fashion xer vocal range is quite wide (I think lower than mine– she can get down to at least a countertenor and up to a nice mezzosoprano), and while xer speaking vc is very bright and brassy, her singing or storytelling voice is much darker and fuller – it's very much a fundamentally different register like she's just making the sound differently bc xe learned that as a particular tradition. She gestures in a way that Looks very flamboyant and expressive but is also generally intentional/presentational (one of the big Gestures is lashing her tail against the floor or smth else, to get attention or punctuate a point); most of xer gestures are On Purpose as opposed to smth that just happens. She still does them when more relaxed (she finds it fun and it's not like unnatural just intentional + it helps xer get her point across) but also rocks/sways back and forth more and tenses/untenses up (actual stims). She also speaks w/ a cadence with Specific Emphases, so you can Follow her better, like a PSA with keywords bolded; this is both smth she uses/learned for storytelling and song and smth xe just uses in conversation.

Rosencrantz was always more emotionally subdued + had some degree of blunted affect, which became more pronounced after he died; it's mixed in with a dose of emotional blunting and of intentional apathy/detachment but even most of what breaks thru those gets blunted to varying degrees – this is most evident in body language (he's generally very still, gesturing very little and fidgeting not at all; all of his movements Look intentional and heavy/stiff. One of the only gestures he does for emphasis is Looking Over At You; again it's got a noticeable weight and clunk to it, almost rolling eyes or head over at you. Otherwise he tends to stare off into space, his drink, the floor, the opposite wall, etc) but also in tone. On the whole it just gives like he doesn't want to move unless he has a reason to, and he processes this as mostly "not caring enough" to vary his tone/pitch of speech, but were he to try to do so, he'd struggle with it

His speech cadence is also monotone w/ him not really pausing In sentences (at commas etc); this would make him hard to listen to/droning, but his sentences tend to be pretty short/to the point. Introduction script of "I'm Rosencrantz. I'm a cleric." is so iconic to him in particular I'd b remiss not to mention it; in general though he tends to drop words, especially subjects, except for emphasis

Festive ghost hunting goes about as well as you would expect (ft. Jimmy, Gem, Fwhip, and Sausage)

- In Grian's absence, Fwhip and Sausage have decided go take his place by coming up with excuses to be late (which include watching a film and sketching Bubbles in front of a fireplace).

- Before even joining VC with anyone, Jimmy threatens to end stream and force Sausage to reflect over Christmas break if Sausage strays away from being PG. It's important to note that this is Sausage we're talking about. ("Guys! I have been family friendly this whole entire time! I only made four innuendos though, and that's not bad. Oh, and Jimmy took a temperature of me, but not through the mouth, and that's pretty much all I've done so far.")

- Sausage immediately sets the tone for the stream by kissing Jimmy, and they hunt for mistletoe so they can do it again.

- "What do you guys want for Christmas?" "25 more subs." "I want a pony!" "A really big sign that says Gem is great."

- Fwhip also hit 800k! He proceeded to write a tweet for the next three minutes.

- "Go inside Fwhip, you can see his mouth from in here." "No I don't want you inside me."

- "I know what a summoning circle is, I do this all the time!"

- Sausage decided to use his voice changer throughout the whole stream, even confusing Jimmy into believing it was the actual voice of the ghost for a bit. ("Sausage, if you do that one more time, I'll catch a plane for Christmas, and punch you, and steal your Minecraft account." "Yes! Oh, can you just do the punching and not the stealing of the account, please, thank you.")

- Jimmy is the first one to die, and Sausage compliments his butt. He then has a meltdown and rants to the ghost before being murdered as well. ("We're together in hell.")

- For the first round, Gem was the only one left, and had to guess the ghost, which she got correctly. ("We all suck." "I don't suck, I'd like you to know I survived and guessed correctly.")

- They really like commenting on the computers within the environments. ("James Clark, have you played 1.18?" "You'd get 2 fps on Minecraft with this thing.")

- "Hold on, let's go make fun of Gem for being alive." *Gem leaves them behind*

- Everybody dies in hilarious positions, with Jimmy getting killed because he was distracted by Sausage's body standing straight up. ("I got distracted by Sausage's dead body standing in the corner." "Can you guys stop flirting for THREE SECONDS?")

- Jimmy, Fwhip, and Sausage all start kissing each other, with Gem just witnessing it from the sidelines. ("I am fourth wheeling. I am fourth wheeling right now.")

- Fwhip: Another video of Jimmy losing in Phasmophobia all the time? I love it.

Chat member: Jimmy loses on all his streams, not just Phasmo.

- "My friends might be dying in there, chat, but I will take a sip of my drink, I will let them die, and then I will walk in, in just a second."

- Gem tried to get inside the house, but Fwhip's dead body was blocking the door from opening. ("Gem is never playing with us again.")

pls expand, I really enjoy reading your takes and I find bbh fascinating like I barley know anything about him he’s an enigma to me

My fascination in bbh extends so far as I hate not understanding things and I set out to consume as much content to understand him, I'd be so frustrated in streams when I'd watch him and things that seem so intuitive or simple to me to figure out but I wouldn't be able to tell if he is bullshitting - he has the trisha paytas syndrome of "is he serious? how far does the bit go?" for the language thing it goes as this: for a period of time he would stream and put "no swearing stream" in his title and in his stream corner - but he would invite streamers that would swear and the only thing he would do is yell language really loudly and this coincided when he would be on others people's streams a lot and in the peak of his Languaging era and he would yell Language in their streams - disrupting the flow of the content so his fans and the fans of people that are watching other peoples streams were both upset with him over how 1)ineffective the languaging was on his own streams which were branded as no swearing 2) and ruining the content and enjoyment of other streamers content this was a brewing issue for a long time, but people didnt watch his streams so they never noticed it, it only blew up when he joined other peoples streams and the pressure was put on him the reason I listed this point as an issue with social ques and autism is because for the period where it was brewing internally within his own fans - which he talks to directly - they would be vocal about it in a "joking" manner so as to not upset him (bbh fans are as parasocial as dream fans and I'd argue even more so since he hangs out with them and vc and has groupchats etc) he never picked up the joking from his fans as an issue, even when it was rather blatant at times - and even his CC friends would have this discussion with him time and time again blatantly but in a joking manner and on stream so he didn't put much stock in it when the issue blew up he went around surveying and genuinely asking both his fans and his friends if the language thing was annoying - he was very sincere about it and didn't seem to realize it was actually upsetting people even though the signs where there from a mile away once he got perspectives from both sides (ie people who defended his use and people who explained why they disliked it) he decided to put in an effort into minimizing his languaging in other peoples streams - there was a period of time after the controversy where he didn't do it AT ALL in others streams- and he stopped adding the "no swearing" disclaimer to his streams and would do a psa at the start of his streams "that there will most likely be swearing" because he realized he was in the wrong for implying that there wouldn't be and also because he didn't want to police his friends too heavily so he picked his battle also as an addendum I think the language thing is a verbal tick that he has a hard time controlling because when he was trying to minimize it you could hear him try and go start saying it but he'd stop himself and currently he settled for just saying it quietly/normally

Observations and discussion- the 11/29 streams

Part 1 George’s stream| Part 2 Tubbo’s stream ( will be linked when it’s done )

George logs onto the SMP because his chat was freaking out about his home.

Dream tells George to not worry and tells him to not look at his now burnt home.

George already heard that Tommy was the one who torched his house from chat but the first SMP member he actually hears it from is Karl.

I don’t remember if Quackity knew it was Tommy or not but when he follows George to his house Quackity never blames Tommy and tries to convince George that it was BBH and Skeppy because of that one sign Tommy (I think) placed. ( Though I think this is most likely because Quackity likes trolling BBH. )

After Quackity leaves the VC Karl immediately starts complaining about Tommy’s actions to George ( and Ranboo but mostly Tommy. ) 

Karl advices George to not fix his house immediately, and tells him to “harp on it”. ( To me this feels like Karl trying to rile George up and get him even angrier at Tommy. )

( Karl is an interesting character in this plot. He tends to be overlooked and he’s very aware of that: it annoys him but he also uses it to his advantage. He is both clever and very blatant with his power hungry tendencies: he doesn’t immediately try to obtain the highest levels of power and instead is trying to climb the political latter one step at a time. He’s not at all subtle about it but because he’s Karl and people underestimate him he can get away with it. )

( We we’re all out here going: Fundy betrayal arc, Quackity corruption arc, Tommy villian arc and ended up forgetting about a possible Karl arc lol )

Karl is the one who suggests George talks to Tubbo about Tommy’s behavior and flat out says “Tommy is the vice president I think we need to overthrow him and... I don’t know who the Vice Vice President is but whoever is just needs to step up and become the Vice President... That’s just my opinion though.”

( FYI: Karl pressured Tubbo into naming him vice vice president. )

Karl keeps on attempting to make the V.V.P look better to George who is focusing on rebuilding and doesn’t seem to care about what Karl is saying. Karl also wants George to leave the mess as is to provide proof for Tubbo but George once again ignores him.

They join VC5 but Tubbo gets overwhelmed by all the talking and moves into VC6 with Quackity.

Karl informs George about Dream’s wall and speculates that Dream did it for George.

The King flat out admits that he doesn’t understand politics ( lol )

George initially agrees with the wall but Karl keeps on pushing for a change in power instead.

Tommy joins and George accuses him, Tommy denies the claim but Karl doesn’t believe him. When George considers that Tommy might be telling the truth Karl says that Tommy is lying.

“What do I get out of lying to you George?” ( Now Karl isn’t lying to George but I find this line interesting because it’s VERY clear what Karl could get and has been pushing for this whole conversation. )

Karl hits the nail half on the head. “Listen, here’s what it is. It’s two people that are just obsessed with power: Tommy and Dream... They are using the ashes of your house as a political statement.”

( Now I say half because Tommy isn’t interested in political gain or political control, he just wants his discs back... now Dream. I was actually writing a draft about this but never finished so I’m just gonna say my own thoughts here: Dream has been looking for an opportunity to make his move and Tommy attacking George, the king of the SMP, was exactly what he needed. He could’ve just punished Tommy but instead he targeted all of L’manberg because he knew that 1.) they are in not in ANY position to fight back against him right now and 2.) Tommy would face major consequence for what was essentially a small prank that was fixed in like less then 10 minutes. To quote Tommy “It was the perfect crime.” )

( Also no one confronted Dream about him burning Manifold Land and that upsets me! >:( Jack Manifold deserves better!!! )

George travels to L’Manburg and finds Dream. Dream informs George that it was Tommy who burned George’s home and since George is the King it would be considered a very big offense. So Dream decided to make his move and boarded up L’manburg to pressure Tubbo and the rest of the cabinet into punishing Tommy. Karl agrees with the idea of punishing Tommy.

Dream tells George not to worry about it again, George asks Dream where he got all the obsidian from and Dream refuses to give a straight answer aside from “Not from creative mode.” ( I’m pretty sure Dream took it from Fundy... interesting that he doesn’t want George to know about that. Does George even know that Fundy is engaged with Dream? )

Dream continues to try and keep George out of the situation meanwhile Karl switches his target over to Dream asking if Tommy should step down as VP to which Dream agrees but also adds that it isn’t enough. Karl also asks if the V.V.P should step up and become VP to which Dream shrugs “ I guess...”, Karl latches onto this as his official endorsement and runs off.

( I’ll talk more about this later but I when I watching Tubbo’s stream I got this overwhelming feeling that Dream is trying to separate Tommy and Tubbo or at least drive a wedge in their bond. )

George expresses concern that the wall wont be enough, Dream once again stresses that he is handling the situation. Dream says “Do you see how much I’ve already done for you... trust me.” and leaves shortly after it. ( It almost feels like a parent talking to a child; a bit of a patronizing energy from Dream to George. Dream wants George to stay neutral and stay out of conflict but recently it seems like George has been wanting to get more involved- just a tiny bit. )

George however stills feels uncertain about the wall, Karl argues that it’s a step in the right direction “it sets up a precedent.” and while George agrees he still doesn’t see how it’ll help in the long run while Karl continues to drag Tommy.

George and Karl join the L’manbergian VC and they argue for a bit before the cabinet move to a new VC without George... and Karl which infuriates him.

Karl vents his frustrations to George about being treated like a second class citizen despite his status as a member of the government.

Karl sulks and George legitimately feels bad for him.

Dream whispers to George to get out of the borders, George asks if Karl should come with them and if he’s gonna hurt the L’manburgians. Dream just says for George to stay away from the conflict and remain neutral

( I saw someone else bring this up before but Dream seems to stick around ‘neutral’ people: George being the obvious one, Callahan being appointed the royal squire, that one time he told Purpled of all people to stay away from Manberg before the war, and last night when Dream was trailing after Puffy who has recently been feeling conflicted about her place in the SMP. I can’t tell how much of it is Dream genuinely caring and how much of it is just him wanting easy people to control and use. )

Karl talks about going “back to the grind” and George, somewhat cautiously, says that Karl should “just get out of here.” ( here being L’manberg )

George gets out of L’manberg but quickly hops back in to watch the discussion between the cabinet members but since he can’t hear anything he leaves- not wanting anything to do with a possible war.

( Which is probably what Dream wants George to do- stay out of it and let Dream handle it. )

Karl continues to vent about not being respected and George sympathetically listens

George stumbles upon the L’mantree, this prompts Karl to say “I’m not telling you to, because I’m the vice vice president and the only reason I’m letting this slip is because they’re being mean to me,... but that tree is very important to them I’m just saying.”

George comments about how interesting it would be if something were to happen to that tree. Karl eggs George on to do something but George gets distracted by Dream.

Karl gives George 24 blocks of obsidian, Karl continues to talk about how disrespectful it was of the others to not include him in the meeting.

Karl joins their call, promising to recount anything to George. George calls Karl his little spy.

( funny little moment: George kidnaps a L’manberg salmon and drops it on Quackity’s head. Your honor they are brothers! )

George joins the VC with the others: they discuss George’s home and if Tommy is guilty.

Dream and Tubbo go to talk in private.

George listens as the other cabinet members beg for Tommy to just tell the truth.

They all start leaving the call until it’s just George and Karl again

Interestingly Karl brings up supporting the idea of Quackity being VP in place of Tommy ( with Karl perhaps aware that because of the lack of respect the others have for him trying to make Quackity the VP instead would be more realistic )

George and Karl continue to bond over disliking Tommy.

Karl joins a VC and George soon follows but they’re immediately told by Tubbo to leave, this just frustrates them even more.

“I’m peeved George.” 

Karl encourages George to read his chat, who are telling George to burn down the tree.

George finds the ingredients to make a flint and steel in a nearby chest ( I don’t know if it was just a coincidence or if Dream or Karl placed those items in there. )

George decides against burning the tree and instead takes some of it hostage.

George and Karl are asked to join the VC and they all travel to the courthouse

I’ll cover the court stuff in more detail when I watch Tubbo and Tommy’s streams because it concerns them more and I don’t want to make this TOO long.

George listens as the cabinet continues to argue along the way, Niki and Ranboo join.

Pretty much everyone is vocally against Tommy, except for Ranboo who is mostly keeping to himself

George blocks tommy off with his obsidian. Karl and George play dumb about where the obsidian came from ( Though Karl might not have realized it was George who placed it or forgot that he gave him those blocks )

George jokes about Tommy already being done for with Quackity as his lawyer ( Your honor!! They are brothers!!)

Niki immediately tries to defend Ranboo when George brings up Chats claim of Ranboo being involved with the house burning. ( Sibling moment Pog <3 )

Tommy also defends Ranboo, and Tommy keeps defending him even after admitting to the crime.

( I’ll talk more about interesting Tommy stuff I noticed when I watch his stream )

Niki and Tommy vouch for Ranboo’s innocence and since Ranboo’s memory is apparently very spotty they all decide to let him go, except for George who wants them to review the footage ( Tommy’s vod I presume ) to see if Ran is truly innocent but George is ignored.

George tags along after the trial while the L’manberg cabinet continues their discussion.

George listens as Tommy talks about his goals to piss off Dream until he gets his discs back, the rest of the cabinet argue that his actions are irresponsible since as a member of the Government he represents all of L’manberg ( Though something tells me that even if Tommy wasn’t VP Dream, opportunist and conniver he is, still would’ve tried to make Tommy burning George’s house into a big deal since Tommy is still a L’manberg citizen. )

Dream shows up and Tommy chases after him, everyone follows in a panic.

Karl confronts Ranboo about him helping Tommy burn George’s cottage but let’s him off easy and tells Ran to apologize to George.

Ranboo apologizes even though he can’t remember doing it ( allegedly )

Niki is on Ranboo’s defense, she blames Tommy for being a bad influence on Ran.

Ranboo says “I never said that I couldn’t remember any of it- I just said that I have bad short term memory... “ he also tells George that the fire was an accident and that neither him or Tommy meant for it to spread.

Ranboo does also confirm that Tommy stole stuff and Ranboo did too but Ran put the stuff he stole back because he felt bad.

Ran says that he’s not good at standing up to people and George forgives him but George still wants his stuff back- Ranboo promises to try and help.

Ranboo questions the construction of the walls just because George’s house was burned.

George decides to interrogate Tommy and joins their call, he hears the cabinet argue about the discs ( I’ll cover this more in another post )

( This is when Tommy’s mom tells him about the dishes LOL )

Sapnap joins in confused and George tells him what happened alongside Karl.

Sapnap officially declares himself one of Gogy’s knights. For now George asks Sapnap to keep an eye on Tommy.

Sapnap gets anxious when Tommy and the rest start punching each other ( in reality they’re doing a handshake ) and protectively gets in front of Karl and George

“Dream’s not here, so I gotta protect you guys!” ( Just a nice little moment)

The cabinet go back into the Camarvan, the others watch from the top of the van. Ranboo and Niki decide to respect their privacy.

Sapnap is vocally on George’s side and against L’manberg

“These L’manbergians George, they should’ve learner their lesson the first time when we dealt with them.”

Niki takes offense to this

Karl reveals why he was on Schlatt’s side during the war “ I didn’t feel welcomed...” ( Interesting!! Not feeling welcomed was what caused Quackity to create Swag2020 and later join Schlatt!!!!!!)

Sapnap agrees that the L’manbergians don’t make people feel welcomed. Karl adds that even as vice vice president he still doesn’t feel welcomed since he’s not included in the meetings, Niki agrees that it’s pretty rude of them to do that to Karl.

( This might be important later on: Last night Puffy considered joining Dream but she doesn’t want to turn against Niki but Puffy might try to convince her to join Dream’s side- but I don’t think Niki would go without Ranboo and he needs to be a citizen to run in the next election.)

George and Sapnap agree that it’s wrong of them to not include Karl

Sapnap criticizes Tubbo for not keeping his people in check

Niki doesn’t defend Tubbo, instead she brings up how Ranboo is running for the next election ( interesting!!!!)

Sapnap calls Karl their “ambassador”

George wants to help Karl break down some of the walls around party island but decides to not get involved- Sapnap agrees once again brining up how the king mustn’t get involved and neither can Sapnap as a royal knight.

“I’m the kings right hand man- one of his right hand men. One of the knights, I represent the king.”

George warns Karl about Dream having the walls be in specific places for a reason and gets him to stop, the two are about to listen to some music before Dream whispers for George to come over to him.

Dream gives George the fish Quackity took for his pond in exchange for the parts of the L’mantree he took. At first George questions giving back the leaves but does so.

( In Tubbo’s stream I saw him give the pieces back to the L’manbergians as a show of good faith, but too me this rings more of Dream trying to make himself seem like a good guy to the other L’manbergians while he tries to make Tommy look worse. )

George goes back home to return his fish

Tommy gets blamed for damage done to Karl’s walkway ( I don’t know if he did that )

( George hears a Minecraft cat meow and meows back at it????? )

Tommy asks George for some leather and to two have a little spat, Tommy also remarks about how he hoped that him and Sapnap would be on better terms after Mars but it seems that ship has sailed- Sapnap is loyal to George first and foremost.

Karl’s loyalty to L’manberg has been deeply shaken, Sapnap apologizes to him.

George see’s the rebuilt L’mantree.

George and Sapnap try to cheer up Karl, encouraging his growing negative feelings towards L’manburg.

Quackity is concerned and joins the call after Karl drowns himself three times.

George and Sapnap take Karl back to his house and try to cheer him up with help from Quackity but Karl tries to drown himself again until George orders him as king to stop, threatening to never “pop-off” with him again if he keeps drowning himself

The group decide to have a serious conversation at party island

They all climb into the tree house to support Karl

Quackity promises to talk to Tubbo about Karl getting ignored.

Quackity mistakenly thinks that Karl kissed George (unless he’s talking about a different situation idk ). Quackity then hits George and the two start fighting before George orders Sapnap to get Quackity out of there.

Sapnap draws his bow ordering Quackity to leave while Karl begs them to stop fighting. Things get tense between the trio and Quackity asks if Sapnap still loves him. Sapnap says he does and that this is just a formality before George shoves him out of the tree accidentally killing Quackity.

Quackity says “he understands” to Karl and leaves.

( Damn, Gogy out here destroying relationships left and right! /lh )

Quackity comes back for his things and is asked to rejoin VC

More relationship drama ensues: Quackity is upset at Karl for not standing up for him when their other fiancé, Sapnap, pulled a bow on Quackity. Karl claims that he didn’t just stand there but Quackity moves on to Sapnap, asking for them to just leave Karl. George is confused.

Quackity asks for his “yeezys” back from Karl but George takes them, promising to give them back so long as Karl stops drowning himself

Karl says that’s he’s gonna be fine since Quackity promised to talk to Tubbo, the trio decide to make up to “ not make their wedding awkward”

Hbomb joins and George gives the boots back

(Sapnap clearly cares about both Karl and Quackity but in the end of the day his duties as a royal knight come first- things might get messy if another war starts up. )

( Edit: Addition to the above point, Quackity and Sapnap actually bring this up during Sapnaps 11/30 stream and my point is kind of reaffirmed but not quite in the way I expected. Sapnap listened to George because George is the king and he’s already seen what happens when you disobey the king; it’s certainly fear over respect in this case. He quickly shifts the topic to Karl after this- revealing that, while he still loves Karl, Sapnap views Karl as the “3rd wheel” of their relationship. Quackity basically agrees with this. Ouch. )

Alright back to serious stuff: George, Sapnap, and Karl speculate about what’s going to happen next. George still hasn’t gotten the stuff Tommy took from him back.

Hbomb suggests that George looks through Tommy’s stuff and see if any of his stolen goods are there, George agrees and goes but Sapnap has to leave, he tells George to be safe.

since George doesn’t remember what exactly Tommy took from him he decides to just take what he wants ( Hbomb noting about how that’s just the way this server works lol )

George takes useful stuff from Tommy, chat freaks out about how this could break George’s neutrality and Karl later asks if George was committing war crimes via stealing: George denies this.

Later George joins the VC with Tubbo and they start talking about making a chess tournament.

Some more little humorous moments happen- nothing really plot related I think. George plays chess with Fundy, Karl tries to make a rollercoaster in Philza’s house since he got rid of the school, a global warming arc is jokingly discussed, George tries to enforce some rules as king ( things like flight licenses, and shop permits. Nothing serious), I think George and Karl kiss in the kissing booth ( hard to tell with Minecraft; but George- I know it’s hard but please stop being such a darn homewrecker!! /Joking )

Also Jack briefly logs on but I don’t think he noticed the destruction to Manifold land yet ( He most definitely noticed during  Fundy’s stream today and is pissed )

Karl attacks Maid!Hbomb in church prime

George asks Hbomb to keep an eye Tommy, Hbomb continues to do cat maid things~ to George’s dismay

( George has never watched ATLA wtf )

Punz joins and George tells him about what happened. 

Later Punz confirms that he is one of George’s knights.

George considering granting Punz a flight license so long as he serves under him.

Punz comments on L’manburg’s loss in territory, George says it’s justified.

George, Punz, and Hbomb notice an odd cobblestone bridge structure in that starts around Hutt’s pizza and ends over L’manburg. Punz investigates it with the others. It ends right above the little town square area, with the Technoblade wanted posters.

Punz and George speculate the importance of the bridge and find out it’s a good ledge for jumping into a pool of water in the nation.

After a few awkward moments with Maid!Hbomb George and him considering making a deal: George would get one of Hbomb’s Pigstep discs in turn for renting a room out to Hbomb in George’s cottage. Nothing is set in stone yet and George decides to end his stream.

A Short Moment of Falling in Love with Strangers

I have always loved connecting to different people that’s my main objective when I’m on the internet and Discord is the perfect site I found that helped me communicate to strangers with different stories to tell. 

I have been using Discord for two years now and I’ve met a lot of people more than I can count my cousin’s eyebrow hair.

I did asked if she ever once idolized or somehow related to Jeffree Star.

LOL..... I just can imagine smokes coming out of her ears if she ever reads this.

A year into the pandemic I pushed myself more and more meeting new people. I mean what else is there to do where everything seems to revolve around online? Right?

One night where the clouds suddenly felt heavy and cried though only a light amount of precipitation poured, its enough to make the air blow chill, I felt like I was in a movie and I really am feeling myself while listening to Olivia Rodrigo’s debut album called “Sour” (the best debut album among all I’ve heard so far) 

I was hanging out on Discord Servers, hopping to different voice channels and hoping to meet someone new or I already knew and chat for a bit.

Then someone joined the voice call (VC)…

We chatted for a bit mostly about how life is going on and how we hate this pandemic but the most exciting part is when they sing out of their own choice or If I can convince them. I kinda have an ear for someone who can actually sing.

I just know it... 

I’ve always loved hearing strangers sing. It’s a plus if they really have good vocals. What makes it special in my part is that I get to gush over them without being awkward and revealing myself.

Just imagine someone serenading you and it’s for free. “MEET ME AT THE ALTAR!”

Ahhhhhhhhh! Lord save me!

These absurd thoughts kept lingering for a week. The power of just one song in one night can do to me is absolutely insane.

But it’s not like I haven’t felt all these before. As I told earlier I have been using Discord for two years. It’s not like I haven’t encounter one on other servers such as Singing Underground, The JAM, Daddy and etc.

I still remember those times I fell in love with a stranger even it was a short moment. Well it became normal and every now and then it is part of my everyday routine. It’s not so bad isn’t it? My objective is met and I get serenades as a bonus. 

It’s 9:44 pm right now and who knows whose voice will I hear and fall in love with later, tomorrow and the future.

Then the last song in Sour playing in the background ended.

there were a couple of positives about being forced to join the new directions for a week. 1.) he got to spend quality time with his favorite therapist miss lj. 2.) he got to do vocal warmups the week leading up to his audition, which was dank as hell. 3.) he randomly bonded with some of the band kids while ignoring dan and ended up getting some of them to back him up for his audition. and 4.), the most important positive of them all, he got to see austin palpably uncomfortable everyday. he stepped onto the stage significantly more confidently than he did the night of his into the woods audition. 

“hey! remember me? lorenzo adams. i’m back...” he said, working really hard to not add a ‘bitch’ at the end. his band set up on stage behind him. see...renzo knew he wasn’t the best singer or performer of all the guys that were auditioning. but he’d sat through a college production of spring awakening that his mother directed back in the city, and he remembered being obsessed with moritz. he was a scrawny enough for a role like that. more importantly, he felt like it would be a character that was actually challenging to act like...as opposed to an asshole prince (aka what renzo was in real life). in an attempt to visually seal the deal, he was scrapped together a performance reflective of moritz’s inner rocker. with a band behind him and a mic stand in his hands, renzo definitely felt like he could pull it off. 

“i’m gonna audition for moritz.” he said with a solemn nod. “and i’ll sing in english this time, why not?” he teased, winking at the casting directors. he turned away from the audience and nodded at the band, who were all ready to go. as the guitarist starting fingering notes and drummer came in, renzo began to feel himself...swaying to the music. 

“Young and full of running Tell me where is that taking me? Just a great figure eight Or a tiny infinity?”

as he sang he kept a hyper focus on the directors, attempting to mimic the intensity he saw in moritz...even if his song choice was a bit more laidback. “Don't say a word just come over and lie here with me,” he sang as he arrived to the chorus, “'Cause I'm just about to set fire to everything I see“.

in some weird way...renzo was starting to really enjoy performing. as he sang he remembered his experience with into the woods. even though he had to deal with one on one rehearsals with that dick davis...it was actually really fun. he couldn’t help but smile through his performance of the song. even if he didn’t get the role he was hoping for, being part of spring awakening at all was sure to be full of great memories. hockey was kinda shitty this year...and tennis couldn’t be much more fun with the state of his dynamic with zoe. he kinda needed an outlet like this. after singing the last note, renzo looked out to the directors...flashing a peace sign.

if worst came to worst...he could always just hang around with the new directions right? they had way lower standards than the lima playhouse and a lot of his friends were a part of it. either way...renzo walked out of the audition with a renewed purpose.

ヽ(〃＾▽＾〃)ﾉ  wOoOoOoOow i’m so excited to be here finally!! typically i’m a pretty ~ minimalistic ~ person when it comes to formatting ‘n stuff, but i’ma go a little ham on this introduction because i’m really excited!! ANYWHO, my name’s cheyenne ( but please call me chey ) and i represent the drastically under-appreciated mst. i use he/him pronouns, and for anyone who’s curious, i’m 21+!! i’ve been eying this group for awhile now, but hadn’t joined because of school and work reasons, but my town’s in lockdown, so i finally have a bunch of new time on my hands to write!! now that that’s outta the way though, please love me and my first ever muse here!! her name is jeon haseo and she’s lucid’s main vocalist and lead dancer. in my head, she sounds a bit like wjsn’s yeonjung, gfriend’s yuju, and dreamcatcher’s siyeon when she sings, and when she dances, she reminds lots of people of twice’s mina and her gorgeous face-claim, wjsn’s bona!! she’s a former prima ballerina at a dance company in korea that she was pushed out of due to accusations of favoritism, and even though the board at the school were adamant against said accusations, it was lowkey kinda true lol. her dad is a former dancer that’s received tons of acclaim in the dance world, and it’s said that his name is what landed her all her opportunities in ballet —- whoops!! she doesn’t really know that though, but before i carry on too much, you can read more of my ramblings about her below the cut!! [ youtuber vc ] don’t forget to smash that like button if you wanna plot with us!!

i.  —-  haseo was born in seoul, south korea to a dancer and plastic surgeon, so they had a lot of money to sit on while they raised their daughter. she was brought up in prestigious dance rehearsal spaces, as well as in top-of-the-line hospitals, but instead of wanting to follow in her mother’s footsteps, she decided it’d be more fun to dance like her dad!! she showed promise when she was little, so they nurtured her talents as best they could.

ii.  —-  her childhood really wasn’t all that bad, to be honest, like, she never struggled with making friends, she got everything she wanted, her parents were supportive... what more could she have really asked for, you know? she got along with everyone due to her many interests —- from ballet, to video games, to barbies, to monster trucks —- but that all sorta changed whenever she entered high school. being that she attended a school for the arts danced with a company in their junior program, and had a reputable father, a lot of people started to be really catty with her. she learned how ugly the world could be at a pretty small age, and it’s deffff affected how she sees the world and deals with her problems.

iii.  —-  fast forward to high school graduation, haseo gets offered a spot in a professional company to dance ballet almost immediately. a little sketchy? perhaps, but what’s even sketchier is that she was offered the leading role in her first ever show. vile words spread throughout the whole school and due to the accusations of favoritism, the company decided to terminate her contract rip. she became big sad and almost didn’t dance again until [ spoiler alert ] she was given a chance to audition for dimensions entertainment!!

iv.  —-  she didn’t really wanna become an idol, but she did it anyway because she wanted to dance for a career. she really didn’t even need to have a career with how much money her parents made, but it was important to her to be financially independent, so she decided to stick with it to see if it’d work. long story short, she discovered that she’s a FAB singer, and her long history of dance def helped her standout from the crowd. she trained for two years before her debut, and like, when she was announced to be main vocalist, she literally almost died i think lmao. like, the fact that she was granted main vocal but not main dancer really shook her ass up, but she accepted her fate and tried her best.

v.  —-  the concept changes were a whirlwind, but she likes the more soft vibes that the schoolgirl trilogy gave her. she also thinks it makes better use of her dance skills, but she isn’t really the one in control here now is she? ANYWAY —- her career is blossoming a lot and she’s really excited, but at the same time, she despises that she’s a person of public scrutiny now. she never wanted that to happen at the level that it has, but she puts up with it because she feels she already made her bed, so now she’s gotta lie in it. not to mention that she has some of her old peers from dance starting an online hate group to hate on her, so you know... this isn’t exactly what she had in mind for her life, but she just takes it in stride and hopes that, someday, it’ll make for good stories to tell her grandkids lol.

vi.  —-  i realize that i haven’t really given a description of her personality or her as a person yet, and well, that sucks, so i’ma do it right here, right now!! how would i describe haseo? let’s see —- she’s kinda, like, prissy but it’s definitely more outwardly adorable than it is obnoxious, if that makes sense? she HATES getting dirt on her clothes, she hates having crud under her nails, and she hates when other people lack personal hygiene skills, but she was taught well and doesn’t really voice her harsh judgments unless she’s provoked lol. it also appears to me that she has tons of patience naturally, but is also kind of a hot-head if you actually manage to piss her off, so good luck to your muses if that happens!! she also HATES being woken up from sleep, like, she’ll literally kill you if you do. she’s more than likely gotten into tons of fights with other lucid girls because of it —- whoops!! she’s also SUPER femme, to be honest? she takes way too long to get ready before leaving the house, and almost refuses to leave looking a mess. her hair is always immaculate, her makeup is BEAT, and her clothes are gorgeous, and all paid for with daddy’s card lmao. other than all that though, she doesn’t really fit the “rich girl” stereotype in that she doesn’t act like a snob to just anyone, yk? she’s really open to meeting new people, and she’s a fiercely loyal friend to people she loves, as well as a HOPELESS ROMANTIC [ she’s a taurus, after all ] with her bfs/gfs. she’s also MAD cuddly with anyone, like, she doesn’t give a fuck, she communicates v well with physicality and touch!! if you got any questions ab her, don’t hesitate to lmk!!

We Are Our Own Worst Enemy

To begin, I wanted to talk about some of the frequent questions I get in conversations with members, and this one’s been a long-standing question.

“How do we grow STARFLEET?  Why is it that we can never seem to get new people involved in the organization?”

It’s a question that comes with a tough answer, and now that the Candidates for election have been named, I can finally speak publicly about matters without being accused of “campaigning” for the presidency.

Simply put, our biggest problem lies with us.  The culture we perpetuate and that we all contribute to.  We are our own worst enemy when it comes to growth and retaining that growth.

I’m a relatively new(ish) member of STARFLEET; I joined in 2008.  Eleven years might not seem like “new” but when compared to some of the older members with twenty or thirty years of membership, I’m a youngin’.

When I first joined, I stayed silent for a year in order to familiarize myself with the group.  I paid attention to mails, I listened to other members, I got involved with the Academy and took exams.  The next year, I was asked to be a chapter XO, and my interest in leadership roles grew from there.  As I gained more experience, I would start to submit ideas to evolve current systems.

My ideas were accepted as conversation-starters very warmly by the leadership.  The group conducted a positive discussion on how to implement those ideas and outlined a more practical execution within the current structure.  We had weeks of fruitful collaborations that resulted in a improved and scalable structure, and the organization benefited from the changes.

Oh, wait... no.  Absolutely none of the above paragraph actually happened.

In reality, I was unilaterally dismissed by the powers that be.  I was told that none of my ideas were good or that those ideas had been brought up before, tried, and ultimately failed.  And when I asked for more information on said failures (in order to learn from them), I was told that the discussion was closed.  In one instance, I was actually dropped from a group that shall remain nameless for trying to learn more about a particular problem that plagued the entire organization.

Time and time again, I see newer members trying to participate.  And by the way, I’m guilty of reacting similarly because it’s so easy to fall onto the path of least resistance.  I’m not immune to it, and when I recognize it, I try my best to combat it as best I can.

When I was sat as VCS by the Admiralty Board last year, I was in a position to implement changes that the organization required.  Some of those changes were in accordance with the law, some were to ensure we could sustain better growth annually.  I used my office to start conversations with the various leadership groups.  I began from a position of reason and logic that would have made a Vulcan proud... but in the end, I was literally told by people, “We don’t do it [that way] because we’ve always done it this way.”

Appeal to tradition arguments will always fail with me.  What was amazing about some of those discussions were the appeals to tradition seemed to place STARFLEET above the law.  In some of those discussions, the impetus was that we were violating copyright and trademark, and the push back was that we were too LAZY to bothered to make changes to our procedures.

I am not kidding.

After I recovered from my stupefaction, I decided that because reason and logic were being ignored, that I had to use my office’s responsibility to ensure change.

But even then, it was still an uphill battle.

Even today, right now, I get snarky comments, snide remarks, and sometimes outright insults for trying to bring STARFLEET kicking and screaming into the 21st century.  I get ridiculed for wanting to grow one of the departments in my office into a canonical team that has broad appeal all because of a vocal minority that wishes to remain stuck in the past.  I’m called a narcissist and a tyrant for putting an end to another department’s rampant violation of real-life military traditions for the sake of their own pleasure, even in the fact of said military’s lawyers keeping a close eye on us (and yes, it’s been confirmed twice by separate members that we’re on a watchlist).

As I’ve been entrusted with the long-term health of the organization, the words people use to describe me doesn’t matter to me at all.  I’ve been hired to do the job and I intend to see it through to the end.  I intend to hand off a better organization to the next admin so that they don’t have to worry about those problems in the future.

My question to you is this: If the Vice President of STARFLEET struggles against the unending tide and vitriolic reaction of certain members, what the hell chance does a brand new member have?  Is this the kind of organization that you would market to those mildly interested?

If we truly lament our growth problems, then we have to first take a hard look at what we’re doing as an organization.

As a region.

As a chapter.

In the course of this election, I feel everyone’s focused their attention in the wrong place.  It’s not the Fleet that is the most important part of this organization.  It’s the chapters.  People overall do not join STARFLEET to join the international group... they join STARFLEET because a chapter has members and activities that are appealing to them.  If your chapter is wonderful, then a new member’s going to say, “I really enjoy this group, and I want to see what I can do to make their membership a little better.”

Sometimes, that’s taking on a chapter leadership role.  Sometimes, that’s taking on a regional role.  And sometimes, that’s taking on fleet-level roles, too.  But, before someone feels empowered to do that, it’s incumbent upon all of us to understand that we should foster those new voices as much as possible... and not turn them away from the group by crapping on them when they have ideas.

If you want to grow, you need to first till the soil and supply that growth with the basic nutrients for success.  Tilling the soil means we need to seriously disturb the topsoil and shake it up violently.  It’s the most important part of planting new seeds, and that means we have to fundamentally change how we do business.  How we ensure a better culture of acceptance and listening over shouting down others.

Let’s talk about how we change, make that part of the election conversation.  It’s got to be one of the most important campaign topics to cover.

tl;dr: Either we change our culture or we run the risk of going extinct as an organization.

HISTORY

this my most anti-social + rage-filled muse so we’ll see how he do... v v v loosely based on jake lamotta in the raging bull film. their personalities are actually a bit different ANYWAY 

raised around violence, saw ppl responded to it + listened when used so grew up with the kinda mentality where violence was the only answer 

not a great relationship with parents, lack of communication, abusive. vince’s parents married too young, fell out of love quick, took their frustrations out on each other and on their kid who never listened

so kept to himself at home but released aggression at school. a Big Fat Bully rip just picking on ppl all the time - not the weak ones but the strongest

got into a lot of trouble, juvenile diversion, detention etc. hefty fines bc of vandalism, assault etc. then eventually juvie for a short while for assaulting his probation officer. a mess. 

age 15, his mum (civilian) left his dad (cobra) and his dad remarried to a fellow cobra. his new mom wanted their own kid but couldn’t so adopted serah. ENTER: actual angel, light of vince’s life. the lil 3 y/o was his everything ok. not only did serah’s arrival soften his dad up a lil but vince had less reason to be angry about things too.

tho their parents were v absent, vince had no problem taking care of serah. in fact he was so happy to do it, even skipped school to spend time with her 

stayed out of trouble for serah, joined a boxing club which tamed him a lot, saved his anger for the ring. lost a lot at first but once he started to pick things up the cobras began to take notice as he quickly became the winning bet

doesn’t feel pain like normal people. can just charge + charge + charge @ people no matter how many punches to the head.

didn’t graduate high school but agreed to fight for the cobras + help them fix games for some extra dolla. enjoyed the money as paid back parents, became independent, and begin to save up to move into a house with his gf + financially support serah

never took the initiation tho. always rebelled against his parents and refused to join the cobras despite their wishes. didn’t like the thought of ppl telling him what to do. just wanted to fight, win, go back to his gf + sis with a fat wad of cash 

around the age of 23, he enlisted in the army with a bunch of his friends due to ~patriontic~ reasons but before he left married mimi who came from savage parents + eventually initiated when she was 18. had been dating her since he was 16. this was another reason why he swore not to join as a cobra

finds out she’s pregnant whilst he’s away. wasn’t planned. thought of kids scared him bc he never believed he’d be a good dad (spoiler alert: he right) 

comes back during leave to meet a lil bb rosie (age 25). elated but terrified. more than the war. goes back to afghanistan, hates not being there. so fucks up his own left ear, sent home with a medical discharge. deaf in one ear. called an animal. 

he’s obvs not the same as before, disoriented and a lil traumatized. also wow vince is not the best parent. has sm of his dad’s awful traits that he hasn’t unlearnt but is Trying. 

tried to do a normal job as a construction worker but just got into fights all the time, kept getting fired. was convinced to go back into the ring. so he did. but things were different. 

he didn’t get the same sense of relief from mindless violence. just needed the money. impact of the war - no release from shooting a gun and taking an innocent person’s life. being a solider was a job in the same way as a fighter. work, work. unsatisfied hunger.  

ANYWAY vince’s last fight (age 27), huge odds. cobras told him to lose. his friend bet on him to win against vince’s advice. friend had bet a lot of money. so won the fight. next day his wife was killed.

he thought it was the cobras. turns out it was the savages, they thought she was a snake. not only that but the cobras lost a lot of money. they wanted him to pay it back. he refused to initiate. but serah was pregnant as well. he needed to support the fam + didn’t want no dramaz.

so continued to fight. but now he didn’t know when to stop, didn’t know his limits. began to beat his opponents to death. did the odd job here and there - intimidation, repossession, torture. only to pay off his debts + lowkey protection for his fam 

age 29, parents die. livid. paranoid. took cobra initiation for official protection. also a way to hunt down his wife and parents’ killer + get vengeance. 

SUMMARY: ex cobra fighter, ex us military, widower, a decent brother (serah’s), trying to be a decent father, now cobra soldier. (all u have to know tbh)

nine years later, not over it. still angry. still hunting for the savages that killed his loved ones. might even be dead but subconsciously it doesn’t matter to him, convinces himself they’re still alive to cope with guilt. give his life a kind of purpose he thinks is achievable. 

it’s pretty obvious to ppl he’s only in the cobras out of his own interest, protection and vengeance. he doesn’t exactly see other cobras as ‘family’ and his jobs are all done solo. just sticks to himself, gets shit done and doesn’t want anyone to bother him.

tryna be a good brother and a good dad and a good husband. crazy overprotective. don’t fucc with them, he’ll kill you. more brawns than brains. not a lot of morals. full of hate and rage. always sounds angry. even if amused. doesn’t talk much. speaks in grunts n gruffs n glares. talks weirdly, goes off tangents a lot. 

not book smart but v street smart. don’t bullshit him bc it’ll just piss him off. 

once he sets his mind to something that’s it, game over. dont try and change his mind.

The announcement pointed out that Japan’sgrowing older population has made the country rely heavily on the foreign workforce. Workers traveling to Japan from other countries increased significantly over the years, and the figure is anticipated to grow further.

Now, the giant is trying to capture Japan’s growing remittance market early by pushing blockchain technology in it, thus making the services faster and cheaper. Furthermore, Ripple’s strong ties in Asia helped the company while it is facing US regulatory woes over the status of the XRP token, whether it can be categorized as unregistered security or not.

Meanwhile, SBI promoted the use of RippleNetto to establish other remittance corridors. In late 2019, SBI Remit and SBI Ripple Asia joined hands to initiate money transfer services between Japan and Vietnam using blockchain technology.’ Guys, you must be blind not to see what is happening here.

Japan recognizes the potential that RippleNet holds and is willing to partner with this crypto. That should solidify the future of XRP no matter what happens with the SEC. Now, that means heading to the moon will not be a problem for XRP. This coin could very well easily hit the $10,000mark and continue to soar even higher. Anyone who tells you anything contrary to the fact that this coin is headed to the moon and beyond is outright wrong.

There’s no way so many investors can believe in a flawed system. I genuinely believe the only issue the SEC has against XRP is that it’s doing something they’ve been thinking of doing for many years. But XRP was in it first and will likely continue to solidify partnerships in the field.

Let’s head straight to the lawcourts so we can see what’s happening. A week ago, the SEC filed its motion to quash William Hinman’s deposition by claiming that the former exec did not have any personal or first-hand knowledge of Ripple’s offers and sales of XRP.

In what is the latest development in the same, the individual defendants and ripple Labs have now filed their opposition to the plaintiff’s aforementioned motion. According to the defendants, Hinman was”never” a high-ranking government official entitled to special discovery protection.

Ripple Labs also argued that since Hinmanis now a former employee, they [defendants]do not bear the burden to explicitly show that the exec possesses unique, first-hand knowledge about the happenings relevant to the case. At this stage in the lawsuit, Hinman’s”Ether is not a security” public speech has undoubtedly become an indispensable part of the lawsuit.

In fact, the defendants were also quick to point out that right after the said speech, the exec attended a meeting with the there um Foundation and ConsenSys.’Now let’s take a look at the technical analysis to see what is happening with XRP’s price action. We are looking at 1 weekly time frame to see the bigger picture. Last week the 1W MA50 (blue trend-line) held and that was enough to give XRPa respectable push to the upside.

Whether that can be sustainable or not, it remains to be seen, but the last time the 1Weekly MA50 has been holding for that long was during XRP’s last Bull Cycle and more specifically in its 2017 Mania Phase. As you see the similarities are uncanny. BothBear Cycles have ended on a -16o Lower Highs angle and once the Mania Phase started, the 1W MA50has been supporting. The mid-phase pull-back on both was around -70%.

Right now the CCI is on the same level (-70.00) as it was in the mid-2017 low. Technology startups are often dominated by Caucasian males preaching the importance of culture. This irony should be lost on no one... in the boom of entrepreneurship and investing, the intangible concept of togetherness became an undeniable metric for success. As VCs have continued to emphasize the importance of employee happiness, it's been clear that we've undergone a fundamental shift away from the suit-and-tie offices which once dominated American professionalism.

The importance of company culture has no lack of advocates. Those in traditional work environments may associate tech culture with ball pits and ping pong tables, but the significance of company culture goes far beyond short-term relief and happiness. Companies such as Airbnb openly preach prioritizing culture, and in doing so these pioneers recognize core beliefs as a primary prerequisite for success.

In the context of the workplace, culture should be considered a counter-argument to strict rule enforcement. While both culture and rules strive to achieve the same effect, they are polar opposite execution philosophies. The perfect balance of yin and yang will differ from company to company, but this giant lizard personally favors leaning heavily towards the former.

Willingness Over Obligation

Employees are happier when they fit in, and it should not difficult to imagine why. The desire to fit in has evolutionary purposes dating back to the earliest human ancestors, and is a fundamental need rivaling the importance of food, water, and shelter.

In 1981 an experiment was conducted to gauge the relationship between mindset and perceived age. Older gentlemen who were otherwise removed from generational peers were gathered in a house to relive a time more familiar to them for 5 days. The result held nearly inexplicable shifts in the demeanor and health of each of the participants:

Perhaps most improbable, their sight improved. Independent judges said they looked younger. The experimental subjects, Langer told me, had “put their mind in an earlier time,” and their bodies went along for the ride.

Stress is well-known to have negative effects on health, so the notion of happiness achieving the opposite may not be so farfetched. As an employer it is necessary to recognize that happy workers are more productive. In perhaps the most cynical viewpoint of why company culture is important, the output of employees is increased to a quantifiable degree with zero added cost to the employer.

Less quantifiable (but arguably more important) is the reality that employees are more willing to contribute meaningful ideas when they feel as though their voices are being heard. This truth may have been an even more important factor for companies such as Google or Squarespace, which both depend on innovation. It's no coincidence that our definition of good company culture did not exist until disruptive technology became a business model.

Culture As A Recruitment Tool

Quality talent is a scarce commodity, and plenty of companies are undergoing cultural shifts to appeal to new recruits. Goldman Sachs has long struggled to attract high caliber developers who shy away from traditional offices. In response, the firm has recently shifted to lift its dress code policy for incoming development talent. This marks a significant milestone, as one of the world's most notoriously buttoned-up firms embraces a philosophical shift out of necessity.

In a similar effort, Zapier announced they would provide a stipend of $10,000 for incoming talent looking to leave San Francisco. The intent was to feed on the growing number of disgruntled technologists to step away from the bay area bubble. The actual effect was unforeseen:

Zapier saw a 30% increase in job applicants, and no new hires accepted the money.

The company immediately generated company awareness and positive perception without spending a single penny. Just as interesting is that many new applicants were not even from the Bay area- they had simply been attracted to Zapier's core values.

Just as culture is a reason to join a company, it is a significant factor in employee retention. It is no secret that the job market is currently stacked heavily in the favor of employers: as human life becomes an abundant resource, salaries trend downwards. Employees quickly lose allegiance to the faceless machines which sign their paychecks.

When the job market is dominated by these machines, companies with a strong culture becomes an invaluable factor in the quality of life of employees. Personal relationships are the world's cheapest self-sustaining resource... when people feel as though they have something to lose (an enjoyable job in a down market), they will continuously convince themselves of the importance of staying. As this importance is reiterated over time, people may even romanticize their current level of happiness beyond reality in the face of the unknown job market. Tribes is a common bible amongst culture-conscious entrepreneurs across all business verticals, from fitness to restaurants and beyond. Stumbling across a member of one of these cult-esque companies becomes immediately obvious as they often adopt coworkers as their immediate friend group, and sacrifice personal free time by their own accord. Outsiders often have difficulty relating to why anybody would do this, but these employees find their actions obvious. Their employers have successfully utilized their primal instincts to instill a subconscious fear of falling out of touch.

Guardrails For The Incompetent

Cultural norms are more likely to be followed than dictated laws. As human survival has always depended on group dynamics, a choice in favor of culture is a choice to leverage human nature.

A number of years ago I worked for a company which left dress code rules entirely vague. As this was not a traditional technology company, there was an understandable mix of what each department considered to be acceptable workplace attire, ranging the entirety of the spectrum from suits to jeans. This came crashing down on one fateful day where a developer had stumbled into an investor meeting with an unwashed t-shirt, shorts, and sandals. Within 24 hours, hundreds of employees received a company-wide email detailing a new dress code policy. The backlash was immediate: employees were vocally disgusted, and it became consensuses that this rule was not to be respected. The dress code had been abandoned within a month. The significance of this is simple:

Rules are less likely to be respected than cultural implications.

Laws exist to serve the benefit of a larger society or organization. Human beings constantly dissect rules on an individual basis to determine if following said rules holds any direct benefit to them; go ahead and see how well jaywalking laws hold up with law-abiding citizens when they are presented with a red light at empty crosswalk. Conversely the connotations of falling short in a tightly-knit unit needs no explanation.

Rules exist to herd people in a single direction. Implementing and enforcing rules has an unintended stigma: the people are either perceived to be untrustworthy, or the ruling power can not be bothered with individual needs and concerns. To employees who are aware of their own value the over-enforcement of rules creates an immediate disconnect, regardless of how competent they are. Why opt-out of the zero-cost enforcement which comes with culture in favor of adding the stress of doing something wrong?

There is of course the subconscious implications behind explicit reiteration of rules which should be painfully obvious. Vocalizing an organization's commitment against atrocities such as racism or sexism begs the question: why is this company hiring racist sex-offenders in the first place?

Putting Culture First

The benefits of strong company culture are tenfold. Increased productivity, attracting/retaining talent, encouraging innovation, and higher success in acting accordingly are just a few examples. This is not to say that rules don't have their place: the existence of explicit rules may promote swifter action to deal with obvious misconduct. There is a balance to be struck.

Creating and maintaining work culture is a process in itself which begins with hiring the right people. Doing this entails a philosophical shift in hiring process: how will you use your time with candidates to determine not only their qualifications, but who they are as a person? This is easier than it sounds; every other relationship in our lives begins with an assess another individual's moral compass, wants, and needs... hiring employees should not be any different. Including peers in cultural interviews is an excellent way to involve current employees in the process and identify things which may have been otherwise missed.

Over time it is clear to see how our definition of what consitutes a good company culture might change. The rise of coworking spaces and remote work-from-home companies may signal a shift to move 'work' closer to what we may one day refer to as 'life.'

Culture-first organizations differ from archaic rule-first monoliths similar in how democracies differ from dictatorships. Maintaining a set of core values to serve as the driving factor individuals is far less straightforward than rule enforcement, but the benefits are clear cut to those who are patient. You can't teach culture, but if implemented correctly you won't need to. Isn't that the point after all?

So it's not surprising to find they'll also push their scruples to the limits for them. And what getting a job seems to mean is joining another institution. In 1900, if you get a summer job as a waiter at his next party. How do you get the person who grows the potatoes to give you enough money to buy it. That's why I love working on Y Combinator so much. If I had to predict now, I'd take the first option. For one thing, it seems an axiom that if you want to create wealth, but to show where languages are heading. It's hard to imagine what it would take to create a startup hub deliberately. I'm willing to take responsibility for advising it.

We were a tiny startup, programming as hard as you possibly can. If you start a startup with no idea at all. The asterisk could be any character you don't allow as a constituent. You can block off several hours for a single task if you need money, you make one. For the foreseeable future, people will want ever more material wealth, so there is no danger there is almost certainly a better idea than you started with. But technological change was about to make it, but thoughtful people aren't willing to use a hypothetical language called Blub. Just as the constraint of being located in a particular neighborhood helps define a bar, the constraint of growing at a certain rate can help define a startup. For a while it annoyed me to hear myself described as some kind of irresponsible pied piper, leading impressionable young hackers down the road to ruin. A price range like $20-25 yields two tokens, $20 and $25.

An ever larger percentage of office workers sit in front of computers connected to the Internet, and distractions always evolve toward the procrastinators. I bought was back-ordered, and a party reminder from Evite. If the tests a society uses are currently hackable, we can also make them matter less.
