The Lana Shipping Meme!

This is a meme made by @swtor-legacy-sitcom who very kindly tagged me to fill it in, thank you! :D This was super fun, I’ve been in a bit of a writing rutt lately so this was a nice way to sort-of dip my toe back into it :P I TOTALLY forgot this was in my drafts and forgot to schedule it to post, I’m soooo sorry it took so long lmao 😳😬

I’m not sure if we’re supposed to tag other people with this one so I’ll just leave a general, open tag here: if you have a Lana ship and want to fill this one out, feel free to yoink the meme and say I tagged you! Yes, I promise I mean you <3

Spoilers for KOTFE/KOTET, and slight spoilers for the Subterfugeverse “version” of said events, will be discussed below, so be aware of that before proceeding! There’s also some midlly nsfw questions so you might wanna skip those if they’re not your thing! :D Under a cut because it’s long, but no trigger warnings need apply.

Is Lana Beniko absolutely done with their shit?

Oh yes, absolutely. Nearly always. At any given time, BUT Lana wouldn’t have it any other way. Saarai may be a reckless, overly-heroic idiot with seemingly no self-preservation, but she’s Lana’s reckless, overly-heroic idiot, ya know :’D

Do they make jokes together?

Fairly often, yes! Theirs is very much a flirty/fond banter type of relationship. Lana tells her she’s insufferable, Saarai rolls her eyes and snarks back, so on. See:

Saarai: Well this was a stupid idea Lana: Considering it was one of yours, I’m not surprised Saarai: Why didn’t you say something? Lana: I did and you did it anyway. And what have we learnt from this? Saarai, quietly: I’m a dumbass and I should listen to you more.... Lana: Good. I still love you, though. Saarai: :’D

Lana, two minutes later: You’re going to do it again, aren’t you? Saarai: Yeah, probably.

as well as that little cutscene “You’d better come back blah blah blah” “Well I have you to rescue me, that’s all I need~” is their default pre-dangerous battle banter :P

Who’s hornier? (who initiates)

Saarai is definitely hornier, and while she’s not always the one to initiate, she’s definitely the one to ask more often. (if I had to give it a number, prolly something like 65/45 lol) One of these days, Lana’s going to buy a spray bottle /jk

Kinkiest they’ve been?

Not awfully. Saarai’s a biter (Lana likes it, don’t worry 😏) and she loves it when Lana pulls her hair, but other than that, and making use of connections within the Force to heighten the sensations during such activities ;) they’re pretty vanilla

There was a post going around a while back about an alternative to a praise kink that was like, a “reassurance” kink, instead. I can’t find the actual post to link to it and I haven’t pinned down any specifics for them yet but I definitely think that’s a Saarai thing to look into later 😏

Has Lana ever covered up something your OC did as Minister of Intelligence?

In a roundabout way, yes. Technically, Saarai’s entire existence on Rishii. Since, teeechhnically, as far as the Empire’s concerned at that point, Rai’s supposed to be dead. Lana doesn’t know the technicalities of why that is (and Saarai isn’t comfortable telling her, even now), but she knows it’s important, so she does it for her even if she doesn’t know why.

Favorite non sexual downtime activity?

Cuddles! Saarai is a cuddlebug, and while Lana enjoys them she’s definitely not the “if I don’t get cuddled x times a day I can’t go on” type (in my headcanon, ofc, I’m not saying she can never be that way!) but, Saarai’s also very warm and cuddling her is cozy, so it’s something they both enjoy, whether Rai’s the big spoon, or - and this is Rai’s favourite thing ever - Saarai putting her head in Lana’s lap so Lana can play with her hair, it’s something they always do at the end of the day when they’re both done with work.

Mushiest thing Your OC has ever done for Lana?

So, I’m too impatient & lazy to do the actual HK missions in-game, but I know you can technically get another HK unit, so because ✨it’s my fanfic and I get to make the rules✨ Saarai sent Aria (my DS! Jedi Shadow, very good at stealth) back to Zakuul and though it was a bit battered up, she managed to retrieve HK’s processor. They had to get him a new chassis, but Koth and Ty managed to salvage the rest of his “important” bits and they rebuilt HK for her after they settled on Odessen :’3

Most Embarrassed Lana has ever been because of your OC?

In the middle of an important meeting, in front of everyone on the Alliance High Council, including Theron, Senya, Ni’kasi, Vano, etc.

Lana, sarcastically, after they’ve been disagreeing on how to handle a particular matter for ~1 hr: hahaha bite me.

Saarai, dead serious: Okay, where? 😏

Lana was mortified, to say the least XD

That thing that happened that they vow to NEVER speak of?

Saarai’s reaction when they went to Nathema. Rai’s psychometric, and in hindsight she realises putting her hand on that wall as she ducked into the building was a mistake. She was bombarded with flashback after flashback of what had happened on Nathema when it was still Medriaas, the planet where she was born and where most of her family died, it was not a pleasant experience for her and Rai actually collapsed at one stage because it was all too much for her ;w;

Lana had to bring her back around and herd her back on the ship, where Rai had to wait because she just couldn’t go any further, and Lana and Vano had to go on alone. Lana agreed not to tell anyone else about what had happened, because Saarai didn’t want any of them to worry about her, or think she was “weak” because of it.

The Angriest they’ve ever been at each other?

There’s actually two instances that come to mind for this one

1) Koth’s betrayal/stealing of the Gravestone, Lana was pissed at Koth and wanted to take it out on him, Saarai was pissed at the situation and got between them and chewed Lana out for taking it out on him. (Subterfugeverse is kinda complicated, there’s two Commanders calling the shots for different parts of the Alliance, Koth took issue with something Vano did and made the reckless, kinda stupid decision to still steal the Gravestone even tho Saarai didn’t do anything. (also for anyone new to the blog, all three of them are dating, they’re polyam ;)) Lana took it personally, Saarai was more upset that he was upset and didn’t say anything before he did something stupid. Rai and Lana butted heads about how to deal with it, Lana got salty cause she got yelled at, but they ofc fix it later :3)

2) Torian’s death. Saarai had tried to warn Lana what would happen if they split Vette & Torian up during that fight, Lana brushed it off and told Rai to “stop overreacting, it will be fine”. Obviously, it was not fine. Rai was very angry at the result because, I quote, “I WARNED YOU! And you wouldn’t listen to me!” Saarai refused to speak to Lana for a few days after that, it was kinda a rough time for Lana, she’s only seen Rai get that angry a few times, and only once at her so it shook her a bit. 😢

How does both Lana, and your OC initiate the ‘fade to black’ ;)

For Saarai, the “indicator” is usually when her kisses start to become 50/50 between kissing and biting/nibbling. That’s the universal “ok I want to” signal for Rai. Usually very quickly followed by a soft “yes?” or “are you sure?”, either against her skin or into her ear, depending on where she’s kissing at the time; because she’ll always check first, and if Lana says “no”, it’s off, because Lana’s consent is more important than any of her feelings.

For Lana, it’s when she’ll let Rai pick her up and/or usually to pin her to a wall. There’s a decent height difference, Saarai’s 6 ft 3, and I headcanon that while Lana’s not necessarily “short” at around 5 ft 8, she’s considerably smaller than Rai, as well as being more “reserved” with PDA, she’ll hold hands, or kiss her on the cheek etc. in front of other people, but otherwise Lana tries to keep somewhat “professional” while they’re at work. So when she starts climbing her like a tree, Rai knows she’s about to get some. XD

Do they have kids?

Kiiiinddd of? It’s complicated. Saarai has a son, Ty, from a previous relationship. Lana & Koth both sort of step up to help co-parent, but since Sith Purebloods age differently (i.e. they’re adults at ~20ish the same as humans, but after that they’re more like elves and their physical aging slows down, so they’re more long-lived), even though Ty’s very young by Pureblood standards, he’s still 60 years old, so he’s technically older than Lana and it’s kind of awkward for him to actually call her mom even if she kind of acts like one. He accidentally called her “mom” once, it was very awkward for both of them XD

What has been the most protective Lana has ever had of said kid?

I sat and scratched my head for ages trying to think of something to answer this question with, but I’m very sad to say that right now at the time of answering this meme, I don’t have any specific scenes planned out to tell you about! :( But rest assured that Lana absolutely would rush to help Ty if it was ever necessary :D

House pets? Is your Lana a dog person, or Cat person?

Funnily enough, they don’t actually have any pets! I’d like to think of Lana as more of a cat person than a dog person, in my personal opinion. But they have yet to get any pets of their own, maybeee later on, I dunno. Haven’t hit on any solid ideas for them yet, but I feel like if they happened upon a cute kitty they definitely could adopt one at some stage :’3

Do they get freaky on the Alliance Base or in the Shuttles?

They’ve done both, to be honest lol. Thankfully, Saarai’s sneaky enough that they haven’t gotten caught doing it, yet. Thank the Force.

Are their Sparring Matches Flirtatious? Hardcore?

They could go either way, it depends on what kind of mood they’re both in. If Lana’s particularly annoyed (usually not at Rai, but sometimes) then it’s more likely to be a hardcore spar, Rai’s a pretty tough cookie so she’ll often offer to be Lana’s punching bag in order to spare them some repair bills so she doesn’t rip apart the training dummies irrepairably, it’s okay, Rai can take it ;)

But if they’re both in an otherwise good mood and are just sparring for practise sakes, then yes, they often very quickly devolve into flirtacious banter and some of the classics, you know, “okay you win, you can let me go now” “mmm, nah” “I thought we were sparring” “do you want me to stop” “...don’t you dare.” etc. :’D

Class Specific things that play into their relationship?

Saarai’s a Juggernaut, and I headcanon Lana’s probably some sort of Sorcerer, so they tend to fight as such. They cover each other in more ways than one, if you want to get to Lana you have to go through Saarai first (and good luck to you, that woman can take and give a fucking beating lmao). Lana picks off whatever Saarai’s saber misses, usually with Force attacks but sometimes with her saber, too. Saarai takes bullets for Lana so Lana doesn’t have to get hurt. Lana yells at Rai for doing that and then fixes her up with Force healing afterwards, rinse and repeat. :’D

When they do argue, Lana tends to spontaneously manifest Force lightning, Saarai’s used to it and doesn’t bat an eyelid, she knows Lana’s not actually going to throw it at her and she’s more than prepared to dodge any stray bolts that do come her way.

Lana’s the tactician and the ground support, Saarai’s the battering ram/the bigass hammer used to clear space when Lana needs a bit of extra “oomph” (and trust me, they’re usually never far apart. The other one will be there and then you’ll be in trouble lmao)

Describe a time your OC went ‘Full beast mode’ to protect Lana, instead of the other way around?

"Kriff. Koth, what happened?” Three words was all it took, and everything made sense: “They hurt Lana.”

That scene in the Endless Swamps on Zakuul, just before they pull the Gravestone out of it and Lana and the Commander get ambushed. Saarai went with Lana & Koth to break Vano out of carbonite (since Saarai was still on Rishii at the time, she doesn’t get frozen, only Vano) so when they split up, Saarai goes with Koth to look for ship parts while Vano goes with Lana to look for water.

Lana and Vano get ambushed by the Knights/Skytroopers, and Lana’s hand gets busted. It takes Saarai and Koth a little while to rush over there to help them, but when they do

Saarai. Goes. Fucking. Feral. It’s the scariest she’s ever been in front of Lana and Lana will never forget it, they almost didn’t really need Senya’s help for that part, Saarai basically had it covered. I imagine Lana later described it as “kind of hot, but also kind of terrifying, actually”

Saarai’s considered Chaotic Good, so generally speaking if there’s a peaceful, non-violent solution to a problem, she’ll opt for that, but she has a few buttons that you just do not want to push, ever. And hurting her partners is one of those buttons. She will go apeshit and that’s exactly what happened in the swamp lmao

Little things couples do to annoy each other. What does Lana do? What does your OC do?

Saarai likes to wake up early and hide Lana’s kaf mug in increasingly ridiculous places. Once, she even got Koth to help her stick it to the top of the Gravestone’s hull. It took Lana half the morning to find it, Lana was not amused. XD

Saarai and Koth also have an ongoing “terrible puns” contest where they basically see who can annoy Lana with the most ridiculous puns possible, see this post for an example :P Lana wonders where/how they keep coming up with these puns, she really does.

Does Lana get jealous in your headcanon?

Not really! In Subterfugeverse, both Rai and Lana are polyam, so generally speaking, jealousy isn’t a problem for them, and when it is it’s more of a case of “hey. Hey. Hey, I’m not getting enough attention, pay attention to me.” and then it’s usually dealt with and all is well ;)

When Lana meets Anri, the only thing Saarai does is tease her about “when she’s going to make the move”. 😜

Story that is prominent in their relationship?

I was gonna draw a little doodle for this but the poses kept not coming out right so I gave up, sorryyy qAq

I haven’t gotten very far into planning the SoR onwards+ segments of Subterfugeverse, just bits and bobs like this, but I’d say for now the most prominent is probably their first meeting on Rishii. Basically, meet-cute but with a lightsaber involved too hahaha. There was a lot of posturing and flirty subtext right from the get-go with these two, even if Saarai was particularly suspicious at first (see the earlier question about her being technically dead to the Empire). At first, when she noticed Lana tailing Ty (because Lana was extremely confused about why a Pureblood was so far from Sith space ;)), Saarai assumed that something had happened to her twin and the Empire had A) found out she and Ty were still alive and B) Sent Lana to track them down and kill them for good. Several tension-loaded hours later and Lana managed to convince Rai that actually, Ni’kasi was fine and speaking of, she was trying to avoid being killed too so maybe, actually, they could help each other. And that was all she wrote <3

Hiya! Yep! I have seen the news going around in the MLQC tag and if I’m not mistaken, it’s about censoring some steamy scenes in some dates, ASMRs and I believe some Karmas as well in the CN server... at least, that’s what I got from the posts.

I dunno if it’s gonna apply for the Global and SEA servers as well- I’ll keep an eye out in discord about some news about the other servers...or we could ask @cheri-translates if she know more about the issue.

From what I’ve seen from that shirtless Gavin karma, adding that white shirt only fueled my thirst for the man. Just saying. I still do want me some shirtless man. Good thing there are blogs who already posted these steamy karmas. Let’s make tumblr our thirsting ground!

1. coffee mugs, teacups, wine glasses, water bottles, or soda cans?Option 7, None of the above: highball glass. I looked up the glassware model I like; apparently the manufacturer calls them “nordic cooler glasses.” I much prefer glassware made of glass to any other type, and dislike the ridges/patterns on a lot of drinking glasses. Yep, I’m this picky.

2. chocolate bars or lollipops?Chocolate. I like chocolate’s texture and the way it melts, and I don’t like eating bits of paper.

3. bubblegum or cotton candy?Cotton candy. Bubblegum is gross.

4. how did your elementary school teachers describe you?Uhh… hm. “Smart,” probably, which wasn’t particularly helpful. They probably had a bunch more to say but I don’t remember what anymore.

5. do you prefer to drink soda from soda cans, soda bottles, plastic cups or glass cups?I like this ask post! As mentioned, glass cups. I like how soda cans feel in the hand but the drinking experience is just alright. Plastic is just unpleasant.

6. pastel, boho, tomboy, preppy, goth, grunge, formal or sportswear?I had to google “boho” and I’m still not super clear on what it encompasses, but it seems kinda neat! Also I have no idea what grunge really means. If I had a feminine body and thus felt like dressing up, I’d definitely pick boho out of the google image results of each of those terms.

7. earbuds or headphones?Both; if I wear either for too long I switch to the other for comfort. But I’m at least somewhat an audio enthusiast, so I could go on for a long time here. Ex:

The soundstage of open-back headphones is really unparalleled for one. Apple’s earpods/airpods actually fit me and have basically no microphonics, which usually are a big issue with IEMs for me, plus their resolution on the high end is surprisingly great.

8. movies or tv shows?I watch either of these not from seeking them out but from circumstance, but often wind up liking them. I’m one of those people who thinks, “I’d watch that,” and then never watches whatever that was. So I don’t really know which I do or would prefer.

9. favorite smell in the summer?Uh… hm. That’s a really good question. What’s most interesting about it, I think, is just the list of smells people associate with a season. Of course there’s environmental ones like rain, but for summer I assume you have to go with, I dunno, fair food or something like that.

Anyway, no idea! I can’t think of a lot of meaningful smells that aren’t food, honestly.

10. game you were best at in p.e.?I remember enjoying capture the flag a lot. I dunno if I was actually good at it, though. I did have pretty good short-duration speed, so I was a decent defender. I don’t really remember what else we did.

11. what you have for breakfast on an average day?Nothing. (I don’t like most American breakfast foods much, though that’s not why.)

12. name of your favorite playlist?I called it “the playlist which is entirely fire” because why not. Alternately, the playlist with all of my music is just named after me.

13. lanyard or key ring?Key ring; I’m not a… yeah actually that joke would only work for people who went to my high school and follow this blog (hi Xander).

14. favorite non-chocolate candy?That’s also a really good question and I’m positive I have an answer, but I can’t think of it. I eat candy once every like 3 months, so it doesn’t exactly come to mind easily. The candied pecans I just tried are pretty good, though. Insert reference to my halloween fanfiction.

15. favorite book you read as a school assignment?Y'know how there are some things that you remember deciding at one point were your favorite, but don’t remember well enough to properly consider now? A lot of my favorite pieces of media are like that, but I have at least some confidence in the decision I made at the time. Not so much here. I remember thinking with surprise that I enjoyed The Mill on the Floss when I read it in class, so that’s what comes to mind, but I think it’s the wrong answer. I’m pretty sure there are some books I really enjoy that I’ve forgotten were originally for class. Random example that I think is also wrong: The Hobbit. The Giver is pretty darn good, too. Fahrenheit 451. I don’t remember this being the case but we might have read A Wrinkle in Time in a class. Et cetera.

Wait, no, actually, I figured it out: Island of the Blue Dolphins. (Which, actually, goes in the “this might be too much of a childrens’ book to enjoy rereading” category along with Summerland, The Great Tree of Avalon, The Marino Mission, What the Moon Saw, The Secret of Platform 13, and Island of the Aunts, all of which I loved at the time of reading. And potentially also The Book Thief, although I doubt it. Can you tell I like award-winning children’s books, though?)

16. most comfortable position to sit in?With crossed legs or on my feet, which people seem to find weird.

17. most frequently worn pair of shoes?I only have one regularly-used pair of shoes.

18. ideal weather?Still. I can’t stand wind of any kind. A range of temperatures is nice (not too hot; not *too* cold but snow is pretty so I’ll allow a wide range in that direction.)

19. sleeping position?In a ball, or at least partially curled up.

20. preferred place to write (i.e., in a note book, on your laptop, sketchpad, post-it notes, etc.)?I haven’t written on paper in like a decade. I had to recently in order to leave a sticky note on something and had actual trouble making it legible. Essentially everything I write is on this 2013 Macbook Pro keyboard.

21. obsession from childhood?Um… existentialism? The pretend world my sisters’ and my stuffed animals lived in? Popular science topics and things from video game worlds, all of which went into said pretend world? Jet aircraft? Algebra and geometry puzzles? Configuring laptop computers?

22. role model?John Green. People who can communicate/present things effectively.

23. strange habits?I’m sure I have a ton. I’m not going to delay posting this to come up with any, but I’ll think about it. But especially if we’re using western society as the ‘norm’ for the sake of the question, I think there’s a ton of stuff I do that’d surprise people.

24. favorite crystal?Hm. I like the colorless ones like diamond, I guess? I just generally like gemstones, especially in fiction when they have powers. Oh, how’s this: I tend to like crystals that are (semi)transparent, so they have depth to them and change appearance as they’re rotated.

The other weird, mostly-unrelated thing that comes to mind is when I made a necklace for my best friend in elementary school and spent a lot of effort picking out the right sort of pendant, but I don’t think it was actually a crystal. (I often wonder what it would’ve been like if I hadn’t moved; I bet we’d still be close.)

25. first song you remember hearing?Neat question! I have no memory of a particular song being the first. My parents played music a lot when I was little, so a lot of their CD collection makes me think, “I’ve been listening to this since far before I noticed that I was.” The most recent one of those I heard and wrote down was Cathedral of the Pines by Tim Janis.

26. favorite activity to do in warm weather?…complain about the heat? :D Hm, I don’t have a lot of outdoor hobbies.

27. favorite activity to do in cold weather?…complain about the cold? :P I do like to ski somewhat. And I like hot cocoa.

29. best way to bond with you?Talking, I guess. Boring answer, maybe, but I think most bonding experiences I’ve had were just two people talking about something important.

30. places that you find sacred?My elementary school? Is that a weird answer?

Other than that… a lot of places, really. Depending how you use “sacred,” I think it could apply in my mind to lots of unique places, especially natural-wonder type things.

31. what outfit do you wear to kick ass and take names?I haven’t got one. None of my clothes are things I’ve picked out to look good, honestly. The thing that makes me feel more “ready to go out and kick ass than usual” is, like, bringing a phone charger with me in case I run out of battery in the process of whatever ass kicking it’s going to be, and that’s not an outfit thing.

37. suitcase or duffel bag?I don’t really know what context to think of this question in. Like, is there a time both would be valid options? Anyway, suitcase. Honorable mention: backpack.

38. lemonade or tea?I only like either of these in moderation. Usually I’d say lemonade, but lately I’ve been disliking acidic drinks more than usual, so maybe I’ll say tea. Actually, what I like is chrysanthemum tea, which you can get at dim sum places sometimes.

39. lemon cake or lemon meringue pie?I’ll go with lemon cake. I can only eat a really small amount of lemon meringue. If someone made more of a lemon meringue tart with a really thin layer of lemon (maybe 10mm or a bit less) and a lot of crust and meringue, that could be really good though.

40. weirdest thing to ever happen at your school?If “bad” counts as “weird,” let’s just say it involved sexual misconduct.

41. last person you texted?My dad (a link to instructions to get free in-flight wifi; nothing interesting).

42. jacket pockets or pants pockets?I prefer to put stuff in pants pockets so I have them if I take off my jacket, but then my pants fall down because I have no hips and my pants are all regular-person sized.

43. hoodie, leather jacket, cardigan, jean jacket or bomber jacket?I immediately crossed off everything except hoodie and cardigan. With a different body I’d definitely pick cardigan.

45. which genre: sci-fi, fantasy or superhero?Eh, I mean, I think they all have potential. I’d pick sci-fi or fantasy over superhero; print comics have never interested me at all, though I’m sure there’s interesting stuff in there too.

46. most comfortable outfit to sleep in?I feel like it’s just whatever you’re used to, honestly.

47. favorite type of cheese?Maybe fresh mozzarella? Either way, it’s going to be something people who really like cheese would barely count as cheese.

48. if you were a fruit, what kind would you be?If I were a fruit… not to take it too literally, but I can’t think of a better way to interpret it. Um… a ground cherry, because it’s cute and has a place to hide in.

There are probably better ones that correspond to things I live by more, but that’s the one I have a quote for. Guess who it’s by? I’ll give you one guess.

More (potentially confuzzling) info is under the cut if you’re interested!

First, some things you need to know! (or maybe you don’t. idc just skip to the rules at the bottom X”D)

There are two KayKays: one listed under OCs and the other under the Inkkay family. The former lives in a previous timeline (her first home) and the latter in a current timeline (in the Doodlesphere). Refer to the earlier one as “KayKay,” and the current one as just “Kay.” I know it’s confusing... (⌒-⌒; ) Depending on the question, each would respond differently, so this is important.

On that note, there is an event that draws a line separating the universes of those two. KayKay lives in a pre-incident, pacifist timeline in her own world. However, Kay is aware of everything her previous self lived through, along with the (kinda traumatizing) incident that led her to live with Ink in the Doodlesphere.

Kay is also kinda my persona, so I have no idea what you should refer to ME as. I’m alright with you just saying anything along the lines of “to the artist...” I suppose you can call me by my username as well~

If you have a question for me specifically, you may or may not get a drawing with your answer. It might depend on the question, and how much time I have. Sorry!

If I ever feel the need to, I will step in to answer questions even if they’re directed only towards a previously listed character. Reasons for this could be if a rule is broken, or if a specific question could possibly affect the story or timeline in a way we don’t want it to. (It’s either this or the character acts oblivious to what you’re saying lol)

The characters listed under Hypetale are the ONLY available characters. The rest of the HT cast (Sans, Chara, etc.) is unavailable. However, you can ask the listed characters questions about those who aren’t there. Same rule applies to the Inkkay family (ask about Error, Classic, etc.)

I freaking swear I didn’t notice I had named two consecutive HT human souls after a character in Bendy and the Ink Machine. I don’t even know how I didn’t notice that before (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)

Flowey will be answering questions in his flower form, not his Omega form.

The comic Hypetale has been discontinued. Asks for them is the next best thing the characters in the AU can get.

Of course, I’m using noncanon versions of Ink, Dream, and Blue in the Inkkay family (the rest are my own characters). You’ll maybe see headcanons that could seem mildly out of character, especially for Ink ( ·᷄ὢ·᷅ ) I’m trying to make it seem as canon as possible though—

I know I've posted little to nothing about the stories of the characters listed, but hopefully, by asking around a little, you can get to know them better! Later, I might post a few pictures so you get at least a slight idea of who you’re talking to. (If you’re an early bird here and wanna see it all now, try searching the hashtag “kay’s art”! Bar Harbor, Maine

Dean tries not to fall for her.

It’s a bit unsettling, putting effort into not loving someone too much, makes him feel like he’s fighting against invisible restraints from which he’ll never be able to set himself completely free.

He’d never been so absolutely overwhelmed by his feelings before, never felt his heart bruise at the sound of a name, the sight of a smile, not even when he was with Lisa, the first, the only, girl he’d fallen in love with.

But with Y/N, things are different.

With her, things have been different from that very first night they met two years ago, when he felt something in him coming alive, felt himself tipping along the edge of something new, something real.

Still, he tried.

He didn’t kiss her goodbye when they parted ways the following morning, didn’t call her when he temporarily moved back to Lawrence to help his mum or when he returned to Ithaca a few months later, pretended his heart didn’t flutter when he caught sight of her on the street one day.

And then he literally ran into her at the entrance of Charlie’s apartment, and she waved and smiled at him like he’d never disappeared.

And him?

He was a lost cause.

They grew inseparable after that, buried the memories of the night and the morning they spent together in some sort of wordless agreement and become each other’s best friend.

Despite his best efforts though, despite the fact he knows she’s off limits, knows nothing could ever happen between them, she always does something –smiles when she catches him staring or covers him with a blanket when he falls asleep on her couch- and he finds himself falling a bit deeper, a bit madder in love with her.

The bedroom door creaks.

He opens his eyes, lets out a small groan as he sits up on the bed.

Slowly, his gaze drifts to Y/N, takes in her cute button-down romper and her disheveled hair, the way she seems to be soaked into sunshine, like all the brightness of the day has finally decided to settle across her skin.

A smile plays across his lips at the thought.

“Finally,” he smirks, rubbing at his eyes with the heels of his hands. “I almost fell asleep over here.”

“Hey, this shower has water-pressure.” She applies some body lotion on her legs and, though he tries very hard, he is unable to keep himself from following the smooth movement of her hands. “And I was not the one who insisted on a shared room so-”

“S’ peak season.”

“—you-” she jabs a finger at him – “don’t get to complain.”

He lets out a laugh, shakes his head in what he hopes is clandestine adoration. “You’re a brat, you know that?”

“You love it.”

Another chuckle.

Hands that wrap around her middle.

“C’mere.” He pulls her to him, laughs into the crook of her neck as she squeals and groans. “I do love it.”

“Hmm, good, because m’-” she lets out a small yawn, stretches in his arms, cat-like- “too tired to argue.”

“Now that’s a feat.”

“Hey,” she whines, smacks his arm as his laugh shakes her body, “I had to wake up at six in the morning for this trip. Show some empathy, will you?”

He snorts and helps her settle against his chest, the crisp sheets caressing their bodies. “Empathy, huh?”

“Yup. S’ a virtue. Besides-” she leans in, pecks his jaw- “you are to blame for my lack of sleep, remember?”

Somehow, he’s expected this, but, the fact he’d been correct, the realization he knows her like the back of his hand makes his heart flutter in a way that’s embarrassing, spreads warmth across his limbs.

“I told you to go back home, didn’t I?”

“And I told you I wanted to catch up with your parents.” She pauses for a second, seemingly thinking about something. “Speaking of-” her fingers clutch at his shirt- “John, uh, he… He seemed a little off last night.”

Dean’s body tenses.

He wonders, briefly, if she can feel his muscles flexing under her fingertips.

“He did?” he asks, but his voice is slow, weary.

She doesn’t seem to notice. “Yeah. He was kind of…” She pushes some hair off her face, gnaws on her bottom lip. “Is everything okay?”

He sighs, squeezes her waist because he doesn’t know what to say to her.

He wants to be honest, of course, wants to let her trace his doubts, to listen to what she has to say, because she’s his best friend, the person he shares everything with. And yet, there’s a part of him that worries she’ll be disappointed if she learns what he agreed to give up on the night before, worries that someone as wildly independent as her won’t be able to understand his choice.

But then he feels the sweet weight of her body on his, the patches of bare skin that brush against his own, sun-kissed, rough with sea-salt, and realizes that she’s the only person he can trust, the only person he wants to trust with this.

So, he presses his lips against her temple and-

“Yeah, we’re fine, he just...” He lets out a breath, runs a hand over his face. “Do you remember how we talked about me applying to the Fire Academy?”

Her smile is so brilliant it hurts. “Of course I do. But what does that –oh.” Her eyes light up in earnestness. “You applied, didn’t you?”

“I did, but-”

“Oh my God, D, that’s great. You’re going to be the best-”

“Kid, please, don’t…” He stops himself, clears his throat, quietly. “M’ not going.”

“What?” she asks, and it’s like the words have been forced out of her. “Why?”

He blinks, feels the muscles in his jaw twitching. “Dad… He doesn’t think this is a good idea.”

“A good idea?” she repeats, disbelief laced in her voice.

“Yeah,” he breathes out, searches her face for any tell-tale sign of disapproval, of distaste, but finds none. Somehow, he deems the realization comforting. “Look, he just doesn’t… He says this could distract me from the family business. And, I dunno, maybe he’s right.”

“Dean-”

“I know what you’re going to say, okay? But I can’t… This is Dad we’re talking about, Y/N. And after everything he went through when Mum got sick… He needs me.”

There’s a crease between her brows and when she takes his hand in hers, it hitches. “D., I know that. But what about… What about what you need? Every time you talk about the Fire Academy, you get that look in your eyes and s’ just… You look so happy.”

There’s urgency etched onto the words as they lash out of her mouth, but her gaze is pure melancholy.

“C’mon, kid. Now you just make it sound like I hate working construction.”

“You don’t. I never said that. But, D-” she runs her fingers through his hair, soft, gentle– “I don’t want you to lose your dream.”

“Hey now… I never said I won’t go for it. It’ll just have to wait for a while.”

One, two, three seconds pass, and then.

“You’re a good son, you know that? In fact-” she clings closer to him, pecks the tip of his nose sweetly- “you’re a good everything.”

A hint of a smile plays across his lips.

He threads his fingers through her hair.

“So, you don’t think I’m an idiot for doing this?” he asks, and it’s like his entire existence is hanging from what she’s about to say.

She looks at him, faux nonchalance dancing in her eyes. “I mean, generally speaking, you are an idiot, but, in this case…” She laces their hands together, makes sure to meet his gaze. “I’d probably do the same.”

He lets out a breath he doesn’t know he’s been holding, shakes his head.

His lips brush against her forehead in a lingering kiss.

“I don’t know what I’d do without you, kid,” he says.

And he hopes to God he’ll never have to find out.

1. What’s your first and second most common work ratings?

Teen and up: 17 Mature: 7

And the mature ones are usually for, you know, blood and violence rather than smut so don’t get too excited :P

2. What’s your most common archive warning? Least common? Do you consider yourself an adventurous writer?

Most common: No Archive Warnings Apply (21)

Least common: Major Character Death (1) (Don’t look at me like that, that character was already dead, more or less...)

This isn’t counting the warnings I’ve never used at all, which is exactly half of them! You can probably guess which based on my most common work ratings lol

3. How many fics have you written in each relationship category? Is this more accidental, or do you have preferences?

M/M: 19 (two of these are translations and one is a podfic so I guess the number is really 16) Gen: 9 F/M: 2

Look. I’ve got a lot of opinions about the prevalence of m/m fic over f/f fic in the world (they mostly go along the lines of: if all the best-developed characters from the largest and oldest fandoms are male, of COURSE this is going to happen). This is shifting lately, which is fun and exciting as new shows/movies/books/etc develop their bases with more diverse characters but... wait. That wasn’t the question. Hang on.

I guess my answer is, there can be no accidents as you cannot divorce yourself from the society in which you live, and the things mentioned above are clear predictors of the relationship categories that will be produced if you’re writing in certain fandoms, whether or not you are aware or engaging subsconsciously. So. Um. Yes and no?

I dunno, up until looking at these stats I would have said I prefer writing gen. Oops?

4. What are your top 4 fandoms by numbers? Are you still active in any of them, and do you tend to migrate a lot?

Top 4 fandoms: DCU, Batman, Superman, and then Supernatural and DCMK are tied

Technically, the ones in DCU, Batman, and Superman are all kind of the same since comics are a mess. And yes, I’m still active there! I’ve been writing in various DC universes for longer than any of my previous fandoms (or at least, the ones from my time on AO3. We won’t talk about the before-days)

Supernatural I’m definitely not active in anymore.

DCMK, I do a lot of beta-reading for one specific author, but I probably won’t be writing any more there myself (though who knows!)

I tend to pick a fandom and live there for a while until a new one grabs my fancy, but I don’t really write for several at the same time.

5. What are your top 4 relationship tags? Does this match how you feel about the characters, or are you puzzled?

Ah ha ha destiel is still at the top despite the fact that I haven’t written anything for Supernatural since 2015 XD Oh gosh. I think it’s probably because I don’t really do OTPs. I multiship, especially when it comes to DC universes so I guess I don’t have the concentrated numbers to overtake my old fav.

But hey, I would only have to write two more superbats or two more jaydicks to send them to the top of the list! Hmm...

Top two: Humor, kidnapping

Bottom two: Post-Conan Kudo Shinichi, Drugs

*sigh* I think I’ve actually written that one already. What can I say, I have a brand.

7. How many WIPs do you have currently running on AO3? Any you don’t plan on finishing?

Just the one! And, confession, it’s already finished, I just haven’t posted all of it yet. I never start posting a fic unless it’s already done for a variety of reasons. A lot of the time, I need to go back and fix things when I get to the end and realize that the fic has changed significantly from what I wanted it to be, or something like that.

If you’ve ever sent me a comment complimenting my pacing, this is why it turns out well: I work on one fic as a whole piece rather than as a chapter at a time so I can do a lot of polishing to the finished work. The drawback, of course, is that no one gets to see it for months while I’m working on it, which can make it hard to keep going sometimes.

I also do this because my writing schedule is really erratic, though. Sometimes I write steadily every evening for weeks at a time, sometimes life happens and I don’t touch a keyboard for a month. I couldn’t take the pressure of people waiting for more! Plus I have definitely gotten 3/4 of the way through a fic before deciding I wasn’t interested in writing it anymore and just abandoned it. The guilt I’d feel doing that if the fic had readers would probably completely incapacitate me from writing any more for weeks.

Usually when I’ve gotten to the point where I’m posting a fic on AO3, I’m already working on the next one :)

// I believe it would be rather swooshy. . as if he’s writing in a hurry, yet still prolongs the ends of such letters as s, n, m. Some letters look quite sharp, especially the upper case ones like P, D, R and so on. Like P would be like a quickly written stick and a swoosh. Lel dunno if it makes sense, but not sure how to explain it in a better way.

Same probably applies to other symbol systems too. Only when he’s in the sort of ‘hunt state’ the runes that he inscribes into the bodies are harsh, sharp and rather messy (depends on how far gone he is xdd).

Dream job: I've been really interested in website coding recently, starting a Python class tomorrow with a professor I like... so maybe that could go somewhere? I intend to ask him for advice if I have time after class. He was really helpful last time, and he seems to think I’ve got what it takes... (in my dreams upon dreams I’d write fiction for a living, but let’s be a bit more honest here)

Dream trip: I wanna go to Japan or South Korea because I’m predictable

Fave food: Seafood! I love fish! This includes cooked sushi, but I don’t think I’ve ever met a sea creature I couldn’t somehow like. I just don’t like it raw, is all.

Play any instruments: I played piano in middle school and early high school, but moved away from my music school when I was 16 and haven’t picked it up since. So, no. But I might be able to learn quicker if I tried again due to that previous experience?

Eye color: Dark brown

Hair color: Probably really a shade of brown, but it’s dark enough that I just call it black. Sometimes streaked with color - I’ve been doing purple for the past two years for Obvious Reasons, but I’ve also gone with blue, red, and teal in the past. (I’ve also gone with purple in the past, it’s just that now I have a reason for it.) No color in it now, though.

Describe yourself as aesthetic things: A sort of 90′s/early 2000′s dance club, with bright lights, old European electronica, pretty looking fruit drinks with little or no alcohol... and no people. A place with fun music and visuals, but without crowds or the possibility of getting wasted because whee anxiety

Languages you speak: Just English. I can recognize some Spanish because I took it for three years in high school and picked some bits up from my Colombian stepfamily (mom’s stepmother and her kids), but I’m nowhere near fluent. I just tend to realize that I can understand signs based on the few words I recognize and the context I’m seeing them in. Fun.

Most iconic song: Erm... people keep tagging me in stuff involving “Boom Boom Boom Boom” by Vengaboys because they think it sounds like me, and they’re not wrong because I fucking love that song. Does that count? I’ll link a Eurobeat version because the Eurobeat aspect makes it even more Me

So I got tagged by @jurina-holic in relation to a post on a series of questions for fanfiction writers and I have to say, I am honoured to be tagged x’D Though I kinda doubt these would be satisfactory answers, I tried :P

Also, I’ll base this mostly on the 48G fandom kay? ;)

6. how did writing change you?

Well this is one of, if not, the most personal question in the list to me but I definitely don’t mind sharing about it. Tying it in somewhat with Q.5 since how long do you write, I’ve been writing stories (well, on and off now) since I was 11/12 years old. Prior to that, all I’ve done was draw and game and... game. Definitely not the most productive of hobbies in terms of building my character.

I mainly started writing with my best friend when we decided to make a ‘sequel’ of sorts for the Cardcaptor Sakura series one day while chatting on MSN (ho ho, I’m showing my age?) back then so those were fun times. It started off as just random role-playing, then all of a sudden, we were both so engaged in figuring out how the plot-line should be from then on.

And bam! That was pretty much the start of my writing career. I wanted to see how far my creativity could take me, especially when I was still so fresh at this and ideas just kept appearing in my head. It was an amazing feeling, and it was all thanks to just a sudden random role-play with my best friend.

Since then, I’ve decided to write my own stories (own OCs, plot yadda yadda) which were discontinued due to the lack of direction I wanted to go with it, then I moved onto the writing platform-- Fanfiction.net, posting fanfics on popular series such as Persona 3 and K-ON!. My first FF.net fanfic was a discontinued Ace Attorney (Gyakuten Saiban) fanfic for the pair Miles Edgeworth and Mia Fey though. Which also brings me smoothly to my next point: my career path.

I loved writing so much (and heck throw in English as a subject at this point) that I decided to do something related to using words as a form of art. My parents ‘recommended’ me to get into law, and so I did. Of course I won’t lie, I dread the whole course and I’ll always remember my experiences as a law student to be one of ‘hell on earth’. (Yes I am still a bar student at this time of writing this post.)

Despite loads of shortcomings throughout my writing career during this time (started to feel a huge distaste when it came to writing, hated reading, creativity disappeared, lack of time to do anything fun at all), deep down, I still love this hobby of mine. My parents were also proud of me, having such a productive hobby (of course I never let them know what I wrote exactly though *cough cough*).

Well to put it short, writing has given me a chance to develop my creativity further (other than doing art, which I’m still crappy at tbvh), keeps me productive and wanting to strive for perfection one day whenever that eureka moment comes to me haha.

14. easiest character to write

Without a doubt-- Matsui Jurina.

Okay so... I got into the 48G writing community because of WMatsui, and I actually started writing proper because of how fun it was to write for the pair. But the thing about Jurina that breaks her away from her counterpart is that she’s very........... ‘protagonist’-y in my opinion.

Throw her in any plot and she gives off this “I can be a protagonist if I wanted to” feeling, even if she’s written as a sub-character. I dunno, I relate her thoughts and motivations to the typical shounen series main protagonist, and I have a feeling I’m not the only one who has ever said this too (someone in the 48G said this about Jurina I’m sure of it).

So she basically has this particular ‘mold’ in my head and I’ll just make do with that sample for a majority of the stories I write with her in it. She’s basically a ‘character’ I can bend around and throw into the fire but she would still come out strong, achieving the results I want in the end x’D

Also, you can ship her with pretty much anyone and it’ll still seem natural. :v

30. hardest part of writing

Definitely the planning process. I USUALLY wing it and the end product would be satisfactory... however, that applies mainly to the one-shots I’ve written.

As such, I have serious issues with multi-chaptered fanfiction, especially in the directions department. Sure I do somewhat plan in advance what should or should not happen in each chapter but a part of me would think like I’m writing too much unnecessary details and/or I have no idea how I to word a certain scene etc. that I end up staying at the drawing board for a long long time which results in me giving up after a while.

Using an ongoing fanfiction for the 48G I kinda sorta stopped writing as an example, I wrote that one purely on a whim. It had no direction whatsoever the moment I posted it on a certain 48G fanfiction thread. However gradually all the ideas flowed and worked in my HEAD, but it could never be translated into proper words for my readers to consume. Oh and procrastination.

Also another issue is motivation, especially if my fanfic is very ship-centric. If it’s a multi-chaptered fanfiction I’m doing, and I stop, and Ii want to get back into it but all the ships I’ve used in it are ships I’ve either lost interest in or is just very “meh” about... that really affects my attitude in writing ^^;

45. share the synopsis of a story you work on that you haven’t published yet

I don’t have an actual synopsis of it buuuut I can roughly talk about it. It’s basically a reworked fanfic which was supposed to feature Oshima Yuko, Takahashi Minami and Matsui Rena as the main trio BUUUT I changed it to Yamamoto Sayaka, Yokoyama Yui and Miyawaki Sakura (a.k.a. Hantannee) as the new main trio :v Just to fit my current tastes okay? *shot’d*

Anyways, the story’s something like this.

Yamamoto Sayaka, Yokoyama Yui and Miyawaki Sakura are a band of Phantom Thieves ‘terrorising’ the major cities of Japan. However, they don’t steal just for the sake of it. They steal precious artefacts under a strict contract for an organisation-- a contract that would hopefully lead to answers regarding the disappearance of Sayaka and Yui’s caretaker, their ‘father’, who took them in when they were left to die on the streets as children.

On the other side, there is the genius Interpol agent Matsui Jurina, who has a track record of 100% so far in terms of criminal capture rate. On orders from the higher ups, she had just got posted with her fiancee, Matsui Rena, at a police branch in the region which the Phantom Thieves frequented. Jurina is more of a lone wolf agent who would rather not bother with team work, to the dismay of the police chief-- (Okada Nana/Shiroma Miru -- unconfirmed atm).

Will the Phantom Thieves be captured before they find out the truth? Find out ne--

NOPE *SHOT’D* I can’t do this x’D But yeah basically it’s a police flick thing that I had written parts of like, last year? Two years ago? I forgot. But I thought it would be interesting if I only knew how to frame it all together and had time to do so.
