Can we have more of snuggles for hire please?! > <
YES always. I need more cuddle content
part one (leona, tweels, vil)
*ੈ✩‧₊˚ snuggles for hire (encore)
summary: first years try helping you out with your touch-starved problem type of post: blurbs characters: rook, idia, silver additional info: romantic or platonic, reader is gender neutral, reader is yuu, rook is rook as usual
"Really? That's it?" Ace scoffs.
"So, they haven't been hugged in a while. Okay? Neither has Deuce,"
Deuce glares. It's almost menacing. "That's not true, and you know it! I get lots of hugs every time I visit home!"
"I do, too. But that's just the thing, though, ain't it?" Epel says. "They don't have no home to get hugs from."
The huddle of first years goes quiet. Some days, you become such a part of their world, they forget you're really not from it.
"...Okay, point taken," Ace sighs. "But they have Grim! And he only stinks like, half the time!"
"If memory serves, Grim usually sleeps on the floor..." Epel says. "Poor prefect, all lonely. Now even their sleep is suffering 'cause of it!"
Jack rubs the back of his neck. "It must be tough, not having anything to look forward to,"
Another melancholy silence. Finally, Ace stands, hands on his hips.
"Well, let's do something about it, then. There are tons of boys at this school- one of them should be willing to help,"
Tumblr media
You were slouched over your desk, dozing off over an essay you hadn't even started yet, when your door flies open.
"Prefect!" Epel shouts, his eyes wide with panic. Immediately, dread sets in. Had someone else overblotted? Was Grim in trouble?
"I'm sorry! I was looking for Vil, but he found me first!"
Huh? "What do you mean b-"
"Oh, Trickster~!"
That question answers itself. In a blink, Epel is gone, bolting before he could get dragged into this. Rook lets himself in, smiling as if he'd just won a million thaumarks.
"Ah, there you are~! I have been waiting for your call!"
You blink. "...Hi, Rook. What?"
He slides his hands under your arms, and lifts you like a cat. You remind yourself that he's much stronger than he looks.
"How my heart ached, watching you suffer! But I had to be patient- I had to wait for your call, Trickster! And when I heard Monsieur Pommette was looking for someone to come to your aid... I knew it had to be me!"
Rook sits you in his lap, squeezing you as if you were a small, cute animal. Which, to him, you sort of were. "Now, rest. I will comfort you!"
"Rook," you say, smothered in his arms, "This really isn't necessary."
"For your health, it is," he boops your nose. "Bonne nuit, mon ange."
With the way he's cooing and cuddling you so closely to him, you know there's no getting out of this.
...Not that you're complaining. He's right, after all. And you're really just grateful that he decided to break in while you were awake.
You're still going to have to kick Epel's butt for it, anyway.
Tumblr media
"I already told you, I don't have a problem,"
Ortho Shroud beeps at you. "Incorrect. Your hormonal levels and kinesics indicate you've been sleeping poorly," he says. "...And the other first years were talking about it."
Of course, you sigh. Ace and Deuce. "It's not that bad,"
"Then perhaps you would be interested in solving another problem?"
He brings you down a long, cold hallway, and stops at a door. You hadn't been inside Ignihyde before, but with all the tech stuff, you figure there's some kind of freaky sleep machine in there.
You raise an eyebrow. "I dunno. The technology here is pretty weird,"
"Not that kind of problem!" Ortho opens the door with a giggle. "Idia, look who's here!"
To your surprise (horror? delight?) there's no sleep machine. Just one wide-eyed, blushing, terrified Idia Shroud.
By the look on his face, you can tell he knows just as much about this as you do. He and Ortho exchange glances, having an entire silent conversation while you awkwardly stand in the doorway.
Finally, Ortho looks at you: "Idy has been having similar troubles with sleeping,"
"Ortho-"
"I thought you might be able to help each other!"
Idia looks about ready to crawl under his bed and hide. You look between the two.
"Is he okay?"
"Oh, don't worry! He always gets nervous around pretty people!"
He makes a noise like a deflating balloon. Ortho giggles. "I'll see you later!"
He leaves, and a whir and a thump follow him. You stare. "He took the door knob,"
Despite all the awkward staring and blushing and groaning, you end up in the same bed, anyway, lost in a tangle of limbs that is somehow both awkward and comfortable. Idia is a lot warmer than he looks. And a very, very clingy sleeper.
You'll both lament about how terrible it was to Ortho in the morning, and you'll both leave out the fact that if it really were so terrible, one of you could've just slept on the floor.
But... you didn't. And you won't tomorrow night, either.
Tumblr media
When you told your friends you'd been summoned to Diasomnia, they looked at you as if you'd just said your exact time and place of death.
Ace and Deuce whisper-shouted something about "not telling him", but you didn't ask. You weren't worried about Malleus, after all.
...Except that the person waiting for you in the lounge isn't Malleus.
"Oh... hey, Silver. Did you...?"
You hold up the summons, and he nods. The way he's avoiding your eyes is almost... shy. Bashful.
"Sebek came back from class yesterday yelling about you... he made it sound like you were dying," Silver says, his arms crossed tightly over his chest.
"...But if it's just insomnia, I can help."
You blink. "Oh... I appreciate it, but..."
...You can't bring yourself to finish that sentence. He just looks... tense. This isn't exactly an offer he makes to most, after all.
You're just special.
And you need that.
You sit beside him in comfortable silence. The lights in the Diasomnia lounge are already dim, and it's as quiet and solemn as ever. Silver guides you into a soft position against him, your head on his shoulder, his head on yours, his arm around you, and he falls asleep.
Maybe it's just the exhaustion finally catching up to you, but it's surprisingly easy to follow his lead and fall asleep against him.
You dream of him that night.

please write lirerally anything for sitting on daryls lap facing him omg i would die
fem wife!plus size reader, wc: 515.
a/n: i decided to combine my idea of daryl messing up cutting his hair and this and it honestly turned out so cute!! like i was giggling and twirling my hair writing this 😭
Tumblr media
With your lips rolled between your teeth to hide a cheek splitting smile, you perched yourself comfortably onto Daryl’s lap, hair cutting scissors in hand as you assessed the damage he had done to himself.
Admittedly, you had put cutting Daryl’s hair on the back burner seeing as though your group was working to make Commonwealth your home once more. You knew its length was starting to bug your husband, catching the older man often tucking it behind his ears, blowing it out of his face, or into a man-bun; you shamelessly enjoyed those days the most.
You knew he was much too good of man to bug you about it when you’d walk through the threshold of your home looking like you were about to pass out as soon as your body touched the softness of your bed. You just hadn’t expected him to take matters into his own hands. Maybe you should have.
“God, D. What did you do?” You said with a snort, taking pieces of his now mix-matched length hair in between the pads of your fingers. You twirled them gently, a fond look in your eye. Daryl’s eyes were cast down in embarrassment due to your teasing.
“Dunno… thought I could do it m’self.” He mumbled stubbornly. You laughed again, finally allowing your smile to break free. “I’m sure you did hun.”
He just grunted in response.
“Welp,” You began with a sigh. “Let’s get to work.”
With every chunk of his hair that fell to the floor also took a part of your soul with it. Daryl and you had been together for what seemed like forever now, especially with everything that you had gone through together all the way from the farm until now.
You have seen him throughout many stages of growth, so cutting off a piece of him that you watched change feels like you’re losing a part of the past, but also welcoming a new future.
You felt yourself smile once more the shorter his hair got until you had gotten it perfectly styled.
“Oh God.” You couldn’t help but exclaim with a scrunched nose. “Wha’?” He asked nervously. He had felt his head get lighter, and everytime it did he felt himself get a tad bit sicker. “This is gonna make me feel young again.” Was all you could say.
By that you mean he looks exactly like he did back when you had first met at the Quarry; when he was young and spunky and mean.
“Stop teasin’ me, woman.” He groaned with a small smile of his own. “I’m being serious, stud.” You flirted. He snorted, saying, “I wanna see what it looks like.”
You got off of him, stretching as he padded over to the closest mirror.
He was quiet for a moment and you made sure to watch his face for any kind of negative reaction, but all he did was just pull at his new hairdo with curious hands.
“Do you like it?” You couldn’t help but ask. It took him a moment to respond.
“Yeah, I like it.”

when you know, you know. (e.m.)
summary: air hockey has never been so romantic.
warnings: it's alluded to that reader is wearing red lipstick. not edited.
pairing: eddie munson x reader
wc: 1.8k+
a/n: a very late valentine's day gift for you all (and eddie). also, the fact i've never written proper mechanic eddie... what a shame.
Tumblr media
“Yes!”
If any of the nearby children flinched, you didn’t notice. You were too wrapped up in your victory, going as far as to partake in a terribly embarrassing dance on your end of the air hockey table as Eddie shakes his head slowly.
“You definitely cheated,” he deadpans, a twitch of a smile nearly giving him away as he leans down to pick the puck out of the slot below on his end, “There’s no way you’re about to beat me in under five minutes, again.”
You smile, lips painted red under the lowlights of the arcade as you lean over the table and taunt him, “Or maybe it’s just a skill issue. I wouldn’t keep beating you if you were actually a professional in air hockey like you’d claimed, Munson.”
Three dates – tonight makes four – and you still hadn’t quite worked out how you’d managed to capture the attention of the boy before you. When he’d originally asked you out to coffee, you’d swallowed down all your excessive excitement just to answer him. The local mechanic that you’d been making heart eyes at every few months when you’d go in for an oil check, the one who hadn’t allowed the others at the shop to oversell you on a damn thing when you’d get your tires rotated. Who always smiled shyly as he’d bring you back your keys.
You’d figured the coffee date would last an hour if you were lucky. The two of you would spend more than five minutes in the same room together, he’d realize how overbearing you were, and that would be the end of it. Ridiculous crush effectively squashed.
But it hadn’t.
It had lasted hours, plural. Coffees finished and second lattes nursed until they’d gone cold, the outcome had been the exact opposite of your expectations. Your conversation had flowed effortlessly, common ground and common interests found with ease, and suddenly, Eddie was more than just some cute mechanic for your friends to tease you over.
The first date had only ended due to his shift at the shop that afternoon.
The subsequent sushi dinner date, and then the movie night the next week, had also lasted hours.
“For someone who works on cars, you should be a lot better with your hands,” you poke gentle fun at him as he makes the first hit against the puck this time, far more careful than you had been when serving.
“Or maybe I’m just determined to keep letting my pretty date win.”
“And why would you ever do that?”
Another hit from your mallet, the sharp tapping of your aggressive push ringing out over the sound of nearby machines. You don’t dare to glance in the direction of the ruckus, but you’re pretty sure someone has just won an exciting amount of tickets based on the squeals of glee.
“I dunno,” Eddie pauses to shrug after he hits the puck once more, his guard dropping. You’re ruthless as you take the opportunity to shoot the puck straight into ‘goal’ on his side of the table. A straight shot, far too easy for your liking, but you still celebrate the victory with another embarrassing dance, “Maybe it’s because I’m into that ridiculous dance they keep doing whenever they score.”
You immediately stop your little jumps, eyes widening, a rush of embarrassment heating you up from the inside out as Eddie’s eyes stay glued on you. The table powers down as he makes his way around it, feet bringing him right to you.
You’d always thought Eddie would find you weird, or odd, or unappealing after that coffee date, but the outcome had been better than you could have possibly conceived.
He was an absolute weirdo as well.
Fondness overtakes his features just like it had on that coffee date when you’d accidentally snorted at one of his jokes, and your heart flutters eagerly. You can’t believe there had been a time you’d only watch him from behind glass, trying to not get caught as you would blatantly stare at him as he’d work on your car. A time when you’d only see his curls up in loose buns rather than framing his face as they were now, a time when you couldn’t even shake his hand due to it being covered in oil.
That had all only been a month ago, but you already couldn’t imagine your life without Eddie Munson in it.
“Don’t go shy on me now,” he chuckles as he stops in front of you, smirk deepening the dimples you’d only noticed on your second date with him. He’d been too bashful the first date, ducking whenever his grin would grow too wide on you, biting his tongue on half the flirtatious remarks you wished he would have said. “You won, fair and square, so what’s your prize gonna be, valentine?”
He also waited until the second date to kiss you. That had nearly killed you.
“It’s not very fair if you let me win,” you whisper, unable to look away from his eyes. They’re a soft brown, a smooth honey, a nice sight for sore eyes. You kind of like the crinkles beside them, too. Kind of wonder what it would be like to wake up beside him, roll over, and kiss them – all before the sun ever rose.
He reaches out and gingerly grabs your hand, calloused fingertips brushing your knuckles before he entangles your fingers with his. “Psh, who said I let you win? Maybe I just really suck at air hockey.”
“You just-”
You never get to finish your argument. He’s quick to swoop down, capturing your lips in his. The rudest of interruptions, and it still manages to weaken your knees.
Each kiss only grows sweeter. And more confident, more sure. The first one had been timid, exchanged on your doorstep with boyish hesitation and meek desperation. But now, several kisses experienced since that night, all apprehension has melted. He lets his lips meld to yours, captures your bottom lip just tightly enough to give it a brief tug when he pulls away. Still soft, ever so sweet, and leaving you wanting for more.
Four dates. All it took was four dates for him to make you a goner.
“Now, that wasn’t fair,” you breathe out, betrayed by the smile that you wear. Your chest feels shaken up, impending explosion of mushiness and flowers and hearts and every single cliche the love songs on the radio could squeeze out.
“It was your prize.”
“I never said I wanted a kiss for my prize.”
“Oh, I’m sorry,” he puts a dramatic hand up to his chest, leaning back so dramatically that your hand instinctively reaches out to loop a finger in his jean pocket to keep him upright, “Would you like me to take it back, my fair maiden?”
Four dates, and he makes it impossible to not imagine a future of this. Of silly banter, of gentle mornings spent kissing away crows feet, of cutting one another off with the most infuriating of methods. You’re starting to believe you’re just a hopeless romantic, and he’d spotted that from a mile away – he knew every single button to press to have you putty in his hands, and he was taking full advantage of it.
You giggle, an honest to God giggle, as you say, “Hm, I’m not sure. I heard the return policies on those are a bit wonky.”
If your friends thought you were insufferable when he was some stranger you just had a crush on, they would be vomiting at the sight of this.
He leans into your space, close enough to smell his faint cologne and mint on his breath, “Are they? Well, lucky for you, I’m friends with the shop owner. Can definitely accept the return without a receipt. It won’t be a problem, ma’am. I swear it.”
He’s weird. He’s goofier than you could have imagined, snarkier than you could have dreamed, and more romantic than you had yet to uncover. He’s kind of perfect, but you wouldn’t dare say that to his face. Not yet, at least.
You’re glad you had said yes when he’d asked days prior for you to be his Valentine. And you’re glad he hadn’t gone the boring route, showing up with just chocolates and flowers and calling it a day, but had instead dragged you out to this arcade for a night of adventures as he claimed.
“And how would one go about returning a kiss, kind sir?”
He answers wordlessly, bringing up a finger to tap on his lips. He goes as far as pouting them dramatically.
He wants you to kiss him.
Lucky for him, you want to kiss him, too.
Your kiss is more chaste. Teasing as you lift up onto your tippy toes and only press your lips to his for a brief second before falling back. You leave him wanting more – it’s written all over his face, along with a blush that races right over the bridge of his nose.
He’s cute. He’s cute, and he’s weird, and you really fucking like him.
“Now that that’s over with,” you have to change the topic, move right along before your heart truly bursts from your chest, “I know what I want my prize to be.”
He takes a moment to recover, pupils almost resembling hearts as he stares down at you. Eventually he pulls himself from your trance, shaking his head as he asks, “And what would that be?”
You’re the one taking his hand this time. If he gave you the time, you’d like to learn each callous and scar by heart. Trace over them in the middle of night, when it’s just you and him in the darkness beneath your sheets. Memorize the way they feel as he explores every curvature of your body and figure out which of the roughest patches would brush against your most sensitive bits in a way that would make you arch your back right into him.
The two of you haven’t even discussed if that’s where the night might lead, but you’re sort of hoping the luck in the air doesn’t run out.
“There’s an awfully pretty ring in the case up at the ticket counter,” you muse, knowing damn well the ring was the ugliest thing either of you had ever seen in your lives, “Think you’ve got the tickets to spare?”
His hand gives you a squeeze. Something not too tight, something perfectly comfortable. It’s only the fourth date, it’s only the first month – it’s only the beginning.
“Anything for you, sweetheart,” he says, more earnestly than you’d expected, as he steals another kiss.
You let him. You have this aching feeling in your chest that you’ll probably let him steal an endless amount from you for the rest of your life.
When you know, you know. Or whatever the poets say.

Tumblr media
SUMMARY: Like father like son - Giyuu and your eldest boy Koji are not happy at all your baby girl's made a new...ugh, boy friend. Post-war timeline SUNNY'S TAGLIST: @abadonkori @therabbitthatpostthings @ezekieleen (lemme know if you wanna be added or removed) MASTERLIST/PREVIOUS FICS My inbox is still open if you would like to request for the event!
Man-eating demons. Comrade deaths. Yet nothing was as scary to the stoic Water Pillar when his firstborn suddenly appeared behind him whilst he was polishing his sword on the engawa and announced the dreaded six words.
"Dad, I have something to ask."
Giyuu froze, brain momentarily drawing a complete blank. The sword clattered to the ground, forgotten as Giyuu slowly turned his head around. Dear Kami-sama, he did not think this day would come so fast. He was just almost six, for goodness' sake; he'd been praying it would be another six years before he'd have to answer. Where were you? Crap, crap. You had gone to go pick up Sumire from daycare and now he'd have to deal with this himself.
Alright, he could do it. It's been six years as a dad. He could pull it off.
Koji waited for his father to nod before continuing, the serious face he shared with Giyuu creased with a frown. "How do you know-"
"Koji, it's a normal part of puberty everyone goes through, so naturally you'd be curious, and I'm very happy you trust me enough to come talk to me about it, but whatever sex jokes Uncle Sanemi has been making you want explained you should go ask your mother because I don't think I'm good enough at explaining what adults do at night or how babies are made at this stage," Giyuu blurted out. Exactly like how he had rehearsed it - Giyuu privately congratulated himself for not messing it up.
Two dark blue eyes blinked at him. "What?"
"What?"
"I-" Koji shook his head in confusion. "I dunno what you're talking about and I don't care how babies are made."
"Then..." Giyuu wanted to sink into the ground. "What...did you want to talk to me about?"
"Sumire." Koji wrinkled up his nose in a disgusted expression when he said his sister's name, padding up to his father and plopping down next to him.
"...is she asking you about these things then? I'm not too sure how to explain the jokes to a two year old either but I can try. Or you could just tell her babies come from storks," Giyuu offered helpfully.
"Wait - what? No, that's not what I was going to - what?"
Ah, for the days when Giyuu didn't open his mouth to talk much and eventually embarrass himself. "...sorry, go on."
"Yeah sure." Koji seemed a little distracted, even for a six year old. "Y'know the daycare? She made a new friend."
"That's...nice." At least she isn't taking after Giyuu? What was the problem here and how could he stop his ears from burning red at his not once but twice blunder?
"It's a boy. They keep playing together, sharing meals, nicknames and stuff. She even gave him -" Koji shuddered, narrowing his eyes. "A matching bracelet."
"A...boy?" Giyuu had long retired from being a slayer after the war and he probably wasn't too good with fighting with one arm, but hey, he was polishing that sword for a reason. He couldn't believe how he never spotted it before: Sumire had kicked up a huge fuss at being sent to daycare originally but recently had seemed almost...ecstatically eager to go. Too eager.
His own eyes narrowed. "Tell me everything."
***
"How's Sumi?"
At the sudden question you glanced behind to where your husband was pressing his forehead into your back, one arm wrapped around your waist as you cooked dinner. Not unusual behavior, but didn't Giyuu just see his daughter a few minutes ago?
"Fine, pretty happy at the daycare all things considering." You slid the salmon onto a different plate, unable to keep the suspicion out of your tone. "At least we don't have to keep fighting another war just to get her out the door like last time."
"Koji says she's making friends there."
"Was he supposed to say anything else?" You rolled your eyes. Now you knew where this was coming from. Of course.
"I don't like her friend," Giyuu said plainly. He let go of you to help carry one of the dishes out of the kitchen with you, doing his one-armed best to assist you in setting the table.
"And why is that?" You nodded along, as if you didn't know why. How long would it be until Giyuu cracked? "Koji! Sumire! Time for dinner!"
"He's a boy. Someone trying to steal her away from us. He already gave her a bracelet!"
"Yuu. Yuu, look me in the eye right now." Once your husband finally turned to meet your face he could clearly see you were struggling to hold in your laughter. "One, you're a boy yourself. Two, she's, well, two. Three, Sumire gave him the bracelet."
"Yeah, but I'm her dad! So what if she's two? It's too early for her to fall in love. And a bracelet is basically an engagement jewelry already."
You couldn't help yourself anymore, doubling over in laughter at Giyuu's quiet whining. "Koji put you up this, didn't he?"
"He told me," Giyuu admitted. "But no boy's allowed around Sumi."
"Shion's not that bad of a kid," You countered. "It could be worse."
Giyuu nearly spat. "Wh-what? You know his name?"
"Obviously, Sumire won't stop talking about him."
"And not me?"
"Yuu, look at how overprotective you're acting right now and say that again." You bit down your giggles watching your husband scrunch up his face and attempt to find a way to defend himself as your two children ran in and took their seats.
"I'm not overprotective!"
***
Perhaps slightly protective. Nothing more.
At least Giyuu wasn't being as openly hostile as Sumire's elder brother, who was sitting judgmentally from the corner, glaring at Shion over his book. Giyuu wasn't glowering per se, but you would probably have to save the poor boy soon from under the weight of two penetratingly unnerving stares.
Sumire didn't notice, beaming with literal stars in her eyes at her playmate (Giyuu had been the one to invite him over, which was extremely fishy, which was why you had decided to stay and watch as well). "Hi, Shion-kun! Mama made mochi, wanna go eat?"
"Sure." The freckled face boy stepped through the doorway, following your baby girl into the kitchen. Giyuu eyed him from behind the steaming cup of tea. "Hi Tomioka-san! Is it true you used to be a samurai? Sumi-chan told me a lot about you!"
You strategically interrupted right then before Giyuu could say something awkwardly honest by dumping the plate of sakura mochi onto the table. "Help yourselves, there's plenty to go around!"
So on went the playdate, Sumire suggesting games to her new friend who did his best to act normal and not nervous under Koji's sarcastic quips and Giyuu's pointed stare, oblivious to the fact her brother and father weren't ready to give her up yet (a trait she clearly got from Giyuu) - despite the fact you had spent half an hour before this drilling into their heads Shion was not here to go kidnap Sumire.
You made the mistake of leaving to go clean up the mess in the kitchen later on, however, under the relieved thought that maybe Giyuu had gotten over his little temper tantrum over the boy. Big mistake, because next thing you knew-
"GIYUU WHY ARE YOU HAVING A DUEL WITH A THREE YEAR OLD-"
"He wanted to learn how to use a sword," Giyuu said blankly, pausing in his movements. It certainly seemed innocent and safe enough, seeing as they were using wooden swords and were outside. Sumire excitedly stood by Shion's side, ever the cheerleader.
But you knew your man and son a lot better than that. There was no way they hadn't planned this, not when they were sharing a look.
"I wanna try be like Tomioka-san! Sumi-chan said he used to fight demons and even fought their king. That's so cool!" Shion piped up excitedly. You were going to murder your overprotective husband for this later...if Sumire didn't beat you to it.
"See, Ma? It's all fine," Koji smirked from the sidelines. "Begin!"
***
Predictably it ended with Giyuu slapping Shion with the flat of his blade, causing a scraped knee as well as Giyuu muttering to the fallen "Don't you even think about doing anything to her" when Sumire panicked and rushed over to her friend.
Luckily you managed to usher Shion out to be picked up by his dad in a flurry of apologies, pleasantries and assurances that it was lovely having him over while Sumire burst into tears and asked him not to go yet (you heard Giyuu's almost inaudible "Hmph" when Shion too cried and said the same thing).
Giyuu and Koji were feeling pretty good about themselves, sharing a victorious glance at each other - Team Tomioka 1, Scum Boy 0 - until you slammed the doors shut, calmed down your precious Sumire with the promise of all the leftover mochi in the kitchen before bedtime and then turned around to fix the both of them with your intense glare.
"Koji! Grounded, now!"
"What did I do?!" Koji threw up his hands but stomped off to his room.
"I saw you push Shion, don't act innocent!" You grabbed Giyuu's arm and began to haul him off to the privacy of your bedroom. "And don't think I forgot about you as well, Tomioka Giyuu!"
Damn, you did forget how pathetically kicked puppy-like Giyuu could look when he was playing innocent. "I didn't intentionally beat him up, you know."
"I know you didn't, Yuu," you said sweetly. "But I didn't know you were into fighting with little kids as well!"
"I just don't want anyone taking away Sumi."
You groaned. Once again Giyuu has melted your heart into a slushy mess with his blunt sincerity and expression. You leaned into his hold, grudgingly allowing him to pull your head into his chest but hit him with your fist still. "You're still not supposed to pull that kind of stunt, alright? No one's taking Sumi away from us. You and Koji are really idiots sometimes."
"What if I told you Koji likes a girl too?"
Your head snapped up. "WHAT?!"
"Yeah. He met her at school. Someone named Yuma," Giyuu said casually, as if he didn't know you would be reacting this way. He hummed, playing with your hair. "That's why he took your mochi, by the way, to give it to her."
"Why didn't he tell me?!" You wailed, suddenly forgetting how you had scolded Giyuu for this exact behavior. "I'm his mom! He's growing up so fast!"
Giyuu attempted to continue with his revenge plan but ultimately failed: you both wound up cuddling the rest of the night disappointedly lamenting how fast time flies.
***
BONUS:
"Onii-chan, what are Mama and Daddy doing in there?" Sumire pressed her ear close to the door, munching on her dessert.
Koji froze. "Uh...babies come from storks, Sumi."

plsss kate martin angst
drunk words
kate martin x fem!reader summary: you had known kate since you were kids, what happens when you except your feelings for her?
you and kate had known each other for years, you had even gone to Iowa with her. over the years, you've developed a small crush on her, kate's amazing attitude and kindness drawing you to her.
kate walks into your shared apartment, arms full of grocery bags. you quickly spring up from your spot on the couch to help her. "hey, successful trip?" you joke, gasping as you spot your favorite snack.
kate laughs, closing the fridge as she looks at your excited expression. "i saw you were running low, thought i would get you some more."
you quickly put it in your secret stash in your room, "what would i do without you?" kate shrugs, her eyes seeming to sparkle. "i dunno, probably starve."
"oh shut up, acting as if i don't do anything by myself.." you mumble the last part, continuing to put away groceries.
"hey i heard there's a party tonight! wanna go? i heard there will be cute guys." kate nudged your arm lightly, smirking at the thought of setting you up with someone. "plus you and i both know we need to get out more."
"hey, i get out! plus, i don't need any guys, i have you for a reason." you cross your arms as you watch her put away the last item. "okay true," kate hums, "but I'm tired of rotting away every friday night. it'll be fun i swear. need a remind you about the cute guys?"
you sigh, nodding. "okay, what time is it at?" you over to the clock on the wall, it reading 5:23 pm. "it starts at eight but we should probably get there earlier for the good liquor." kate winks, a grin on her face.
"i bet i could get a guy to get me a drink," she smiles, leaning against the kitchen counter. "can you shut up about the guys? that's not helping."
kate was taken aback by your sudden attitude, but her shock was quickly replaced by a smug look. "are you jealous or something?"
you scoff, rolling your eyes at her implication. "jealous? of what?" you tried to shrug off her idea, knowing deep down you were jealous that she wasn't talking about you like that.
kate gives you a teasing look, smirking "yes you are! admit it, you're crushing on some girl." she gasps, giggle "aw are you crushing on me?" she teases you, playfully pushing your shoulder.
"no kate, can't you just drop it?" you uncross your arms, walking over your bed as you try to ignore her surprisingly accurate accusation. kate laughs as she follows, jumping onto your bed next to you. "c'mon you know i won't judge, just tell me"
"no kate, this is something i want to keep to myself." you turn on your side, facing away from her. kate frowns, a little disappointed. she stays silent for a few moments before speaking again. "okay fine, i'll drop it, but you know i always find out."
"shut up," you mumble into your pillow, "plus how could i have a crush on you? i'm not even gay." kates eyes widen before she bursts out laughing, "good one, but we both know that's bullshit."
you don't say anything, know that speaking would just dig yourself a deeper hole of no return. you decide to take a quick nap before the party.
you wake up a little before seven, meaning you had about an hour to get ready. you first got dressed, throwing on something party-appropriate. realizing that kate had fallen asleep too, i woke her up. “c’mon kate, we gotta go soon.”
she got up with a groan, dragging her feet over to the bathroom. kate usually takes a little while to get ready, but she manages a good pace as she walks around the apartment. "ready,"
you stand up from your seat at the kitchen table, looking at her up and down. she looks good. "you look really pretty," kate smiles at you, causing color to rush to your cheeks.
you point to the door, regaining your composure, "lead the way." the party wasn't far from your apartment, so the two of you opted to walk. as you got up to the house you could already feel the vibrations of the loud music.
kate takes a look at you and grins, "alright, lets do this." you shake your head as she pulls you forward, walking through the front door. taking a deep breath, you take in the unfamiliar surroundings. people were crowding the small space, empty solo cups already littered the available surface area.
kate quickly got caught up with people, fitting right in. you on the other hand, had made your way to a nearby wall, trying to scope out the people. you smiled as you spotted jada and gabbie, two of kate's teammates.
the duo was taking to a group of football players, and you grabbed a drink on the way over to calm your nerves. "hey guys," jada's face lights up at your appearance, and gabbie is quick to hug you.
"hey! we didn't expect to see you here tonight?" gabbie looked to jada, who then nodded at you. "yeah how's it going?" jada took a sip of her drink, waiting for your answer.
"good, kate dragged me here. something about cute guys." you shrug, taking a sip of your drink. jada looks around, nodding. "yeah, i guess there are some cute guys here. they're all total douchebags though."
gabbie nods, also looking around. "speaking of our dear friend kate, where is she?" you pause, trying to remember if you saw her on your way over. "um, last i saw she was talking to some group of girls."
jada and gabbie give each other a look, causing your eyebrows to knit together in confusion. "what?" you ask, feeling nervous almost. "nothing, it's just kate said she liked someone and we've been trying to figure out who." jada explains
"and you think its a girl?" you take another sip of your drink, taking in the new information. why hadn't kate told you? "well she said no to every guy we said, so were out of ideas. plus it would kind of make sense"
"how?" you were interested, maybe you did have a chance. "well you know, you guys have always kind of been like, you know." gabbie tries to explain, but you don't understand what she means. "no? i don't know?"
"you guys have always had that kind of friend or dating type of thing." jada puts in bluntly, causing you to nod a barely audible 'oh' escaping your lips. "we're not saying she likes you though, or that we think you're like that, just, you know."
"no, i still don't 'know'" you cross your arms, tired of people being vague. "i'm going to go get a refill," i mutter, walking away from them.
getting over to the drink table, you run into the main topic of conversation. kate was chatting it up with a new group of people, all of which seemed to be paying a great deal of attention to her. you know it's wrong, but you're tired of seeing her with everyone but you.
you pour yourself another drink before walking over to her. "hey kate," you mumble, squeezing in between her and some random guy from the group she was talking to.
kate turns to you, still laughing from whatever joke the guy had said. she beamed at you, giving you a once-over. "look who it is! i was wondering where you went."
"i ran into jada and gabbie, so i was hanging with them." you smile, and you can smell the strong scent of alcohol on her breath. kate giggles as she sees you eyeing her. "mm, well im trying to have fun too and these guys aren't the best company, you know?"
why does everyone think you know? you turn to look at the group of guys, they're all drunk, laughing their asses off about something. "but anyway, you're here now," she murmurs, looping her arm around your waist loosely. "we can have our own fun now,"
you nod, trying to ignore the butterflies in your stomach. "yeah sure, want to go dance?" kate smiles as she pulls you to the makeshift dance floor. the alcohol had clearly relaxed her significantly, making her more carefree and touchy.
you smile as you watch kate, she looked like she was having fun, even catching some people's attention. a few songs in a guy approaches you, "hey, i noticed you dancing over here. is that your girlfriend?" you laugh as he nods to kate. "uh no, she is just my roommate."
"oh so you're single then?" he gives you a cheesy smile as he looks you up and down. "you're really pretty, would you maybe want to go grab a drink?" you turn back to kate, seeing her talking to some other girl.
"yeah, i would love to." the guy smiles, offering you his hand. "i'm eric, by the way." he comments as he leads you away from kate. "okay, i am going to make you the best damn party drink you've ever had." eric says, grabbing a cup.
"hmm, i don't know, a shearly temple is pretty hard to beat." you laugh, watching him pour things into your cup carefully. meanwhile, kate has finished up her conversation, and is now scanning the room for you, coming up empty-handed.
"so you having fun tonight?" eric asks, handing you the cup. "yeah, it's been fun. i don't go to parties much." you nod, taking a sip of the drink he made. "really? you seem like the type to be invited to them all the time."
"i didn't say i don't get invited, i just don't come." you laugh, nodding your head as you take another sip. "you're a real stunner and you always know what to say, i like that in a girl. want to find somewhere quieter where we can talk?"
he eyes you hungrily, and you realize how much taller he is than you. "aw, im flattered but i need to finish this drink you made me! it's really good." you say, taking yet another sip.
"you could be enjoying much more than the drink if you come with me." he smiles, whispering into your ear. "thanks for the offer but i have to get back to my roommate, she's a. bit of a lightweight if you know what i mean."
"you're picking her over me? i thought we were having a good time, but i guess we have to cut it short because your friend can't handle herself." you nod, confused as to where this attitude is coming from. "yeah, i guess we will."
you walk away, trying to locate kate. you finally spot her talking to jada, a worried look on her face. "hey guys, what's up?" you say breathlessly, tired from squeezing through the crowd. kate's eyes widen as she sees you, relaxing a little. "there you are, i was looking everywhere for you. where'd you go? and why didn't you answer my text?"
"oh sorry, i was with some guy." kate narrows her eyes at your response, seeming almost mad. "'some guy?' who? and how is he more important than us? what were you even talking about" kate was mad, she was mad that you had someone else prioritized above her.
"a bunch of things, and it wasn't like we were hooking up in the bathroom, so calm down." you cross your arms, getting defensive. "he asked if i was single and you were off talking to some girl so i just said yes. he was a nice guy."
"what was his name? or did you guys not get to talking about that?" kate asked pointedly. "what is with the interrogation? i said he was a nice guy alright?" you roll your eyes, not quite sure why she was acting this way.
kate places her hand on your shoulder, trying to comfort you? "hey im just trying to understand who this guy is." you shrug her hand off of you, pulling back. "okay i just told you, so can you drop it? i'm going to go get a drink."
kate flinches, her smile dropping as you brush her off. "whats with her mood?" jada asks, sitting on the couch next to kate. "shut up, dude." kate says, leaning back, resting her head on top of her head.
"fuck," you mumble as you accidentally spill a drink. you eventually clean it up. after that, not paying any mind to how you might feel the next day, you pour yourself a few more just to try and lighten your mood.
you find your way to the dance floor again, you see kate as you dance. you don't know if she sees you, but you dance as if she's watching you.
some random football player comes up to you, just making you even more ticked off. you excuse yourself, squeezing past him to go find kate. even if you were slightly upset, you weren't going to leave with out her.
kate sees you coming towards her, and her face lights up immediately. she moves to wrap her arms around you, relieved to see you again. but as she looks closer, she notices your glassy eyes and flushed cheeks, and her smile fades. "hey are you okay? you look a bit..drunk."
she pulls back from the hug slightly, gently holding your face in her hands and studying your expression. "yeah i'm fine, can we go home?" you hiccup.
"yeah, yeah for sure. hey jada we're going to head out." kate days bye to people on the way out, guiding you through the crowd with her hand on your lower back.
"sorry i'm making you leave so early." you mumble, your eyes barely staying open. "hey, it's okay. don't worry about me. i just want to make sure you're alright." she looks at you with concern in her eyes, clearly worried about your emotional state.
once you and kate get back to your apartment you quickly change, completely forgetting she was still there. "woah, hey im still here." kate says, turning around, even if she has seen you many times before.
"sorry, you can turn back now." you mutter, walking to the bathroom to wash your face. "hey, don't worry about it. It's no big deal. I just wasn't expecting you to change so quickly." she smiles softly, noticing the tear stains on your cheeks. her heart aches for you, and she wants nothing more than to comfort you
"guys suck, so much." you sigh, climbing into bed, "and i don't even like them!" kate chuckles, a mixture of amusement and sympathy in her eyes. "yeah, well you know you don't have to force yourself to like them? you don't need to be in a relationship to be happy."
you nod, still very much under the influence, "i guess, but like i don't like any men, like i just want you. why can't you want me like i want you?" you begin to doze off, "things would be so much easier."
kate's heart skips a beat at your admission, her eyes widening in surprise. she wouldn't admit it, especially to your drunk self, but she knew deep down she wanted you too.
"get some sleep, we can talk tomorrow." kate said, leaning down and brushing some hair out of your face.
notes: sooo 🌝 you asked for kate angst and i think i failed miserably but whatever! anyway, i hate this sm and it makes zero sense so i would love feedback!

How You Met
word count: 832 || avg. reading time: 4 mins.
pairing: post-time skip Kenma x chubby!Reader feat. Kuroo (as The Wingman™ doing the most)
genre: fluff
warnings: none
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You need to get out more. Don’t you ever miss the sun and …”, Kuroo looked around his friend’s gaming room, noting empty take-out containers and energy drinks and balled up socks, “fresh air?”
“No.“, Kenma simply said as he rifled through the games on his computer, trying to decide which one he would stream tonight.
“Come on, let‘s go out. Not for a drink or anything, just for a walk.“
Kenma knew he wouldn‘t be able to hold out long against Kuroo‘s incessant pleas that were bound to follow and so he gave a demonstrative sigh and got up, ignoring the other‘s wide grin.
“Now isn‘t this nice?“, Kuroo took a deep breath of the crisp evening air.
Kenma just looked at his phone and tapped on a nearby checkpoint collecting his rewards.
“It‘s raining.“
“Hardly, drizzling at best. Do you wanna check out that new restaurant that just opened up?“
“No, let‘s go back home. We can order food.“
“We‘ve barely been out five minutes.“
That was already 5 times longer than Kenma preferred in a week.
“Look, the app says there is an event in the park over there. Why don‘t we check it out?“
Lured with the promise of a good game, Kenma shuffled after Kuroo, not hiding a groan of contempt that made Kuroo laugh, “Just like the good old days!“
According to the app the upcoming battle would take place at a fountain in the middle of the small aforementioned park. Only a few other people were already waiting there, periodically checking their phones for the event timer.
Kenma looked around, already thinking about what food he craved once he was back in his warm and cozy house.
There were two young school boys who, in Kuroo‘s opinion, should have gone to bed long ago, another man a little older than him - and you. You stood under a cream coloured umbrella, concentrating on your phone like the others. A fluffy white dog sat at your feet, leaning close to stay dry.
You looked really cute, stunningly cute actually, as far as he could tell in the dim light of the street lanterns, subdued by the misty air. The washed out video game shirt was tied to a knot at your hips, hugging your curvy shape. You reminded him of the big bunny plushie he had gotten a few years ago as part of a game promotion.
The event finally began. He tried to keep his focus on the game but snuck curious looks every now and then across the fountain. Did you live around here, too? How had he never seen you bef- oh, right.
After a few short minutes it was already over and everyone went their separate ways.
“So, what do you wanna have for dinner? Kenma? Hello? Hm?“
Kuroo‘s eyes followed the gaze of his friend and grinned when he spotted you, digging around in your bag.
“Kenma-kun?“, he said teasingly, leaning closer to his friend‘s ear, “You still with us?“
“Huh?“
The younger one snapped out of his daze.
“Why don‘t you go talk to her?“
“Talk to who?“
“Her.“, Kuroo nodded in your direction.
“Why would I?“
“Oh geez, I dunno. Because you‘re staring and for you that is basically equivalent to Tora salivating.“
“Am not.“, Kenma muttered defensively and hated that his ears turned hot.
“Uh huh. Hey, excuse me!”, Kuroo ignored the panicked tug on his jacket when he called out to you.
You looked up, then at them, looked around in confusion, then pointed at yourself.
“Yes.”, Kuroo called with a bright confident smile and walked over to you, Kenma who was still holding onto his jacket followed, but quickly let go before you noticed.
You seemed a bit worried at the tall figure calling out to you randomly in a park but calmed when he asked, “Did you score anything good?” He pointed to your phone.
“Oh. Yes, yes I did.” You turned your phone to show off the rewards.
“Nice. Didn’t you say you got something good, Kenma?”
The younger one nodded and turned his screen for you to see.
“Wow, lucky!”
“I’m Kuroo. This is Kenma.”
“Nice to meet you, I’m (y/n).”
Silence followed.
“And who is this?”
Kuroo pointed at the dog to your feet that sniffed his foot quizzically.
“That’s Plume. I named her after -“
“The berserker in Cloak and Dagger II.“, Kenma finished.
His ears turned hot again when your face lit up.
“Yes! Oh my god, I never met anyone offline who knows the game!“
Silence fell again, Kuroo tapped his foot impatiently.
“Hey, Kenma, isn‘t Cloak and Dagger a multiplayer game?“
“Yeah.“, Kenma replied, weirdly annoyed that his friend would ask such a dumb obvious question in front of you.
Another short stretch of silence.
Kuroo sighed. “Why don‘t you two exchange tags then? You could play together.“
“Oh! That would be great, but I mean, of course you don‘t have to.“, you said quickly.
“Oh no, he wants to.“
Tumblr media
a/n: let‘s just pretend the picture is post-time skip - also this game is entirely made up and it took me way too long to think of a name

READER AND DEATH "BEING PARENTS" FOR 1.3K WORDS
Death x (GN/)Female Reader
Tumblr media
Uhm what do I say about this piece? Idfk. Figured I should stop writing it where it was before it got outta hand. Teacher this is my assignment. (Dunno if I'm gonna continue writing this idea or delete it and watch it burn in a dumpster fire while I sip coffee).
WARNINGS...?
AAAAAAHAHAHA! I intended it to be a cute, fluffy and funny drabble thing but I don't even know at this point.
“No.”
“Yes,” Death answers simply.
You heave up with a grunt, the weight shocking you given how Fury is the size of a toddler, her features shrunken except the eyes that remain as large, milky white orbs. Her lips screw into something of a pout. You see her fiery temper is trapped inside her tinier body. Placing her down and gasping, you reach for Strife who’s hands clench and open, a grumbling whine escaping him.
 No way this happened.
“How?” you ask, mouth agape and contorted into a troubled, confused frown. “Strife, say something! Anything!” He only babbles something between an infant’s prattle and some otherworldly language. Your features smoothen out into an unamused purse of your lips. Your eyes fixate on Death who harbours the third of his siblings, who for a raging machine of pain and chaos, is surprisingly subdued while sat atop the eldest Horseman’s shoulders, hands clasping ahold of Death’s raven locks.
As it turns out, Vulgrim the Soul Eater possesses a variety of interesting artefacts. Death’s account is that said powerful manifestation which the Horsemen were tasked in retrieving for the demon trader, the gem had combusted after misuse and his three younger siblings were incidentally turned into… Well, babies.
You set Strife back to ground level, your mind too far gone into a spiral to notice the pitter-patter of footprints rush off. Death bends down to do the same for War. “I thought you would have some clue as to what to do with them, since humans have a child-rearing nature.”
“Me? You’re older than me by millions of years. Really you’d have a better idea!” you hiss back, tempting fate as you jab a finger at the pale rider’s chest.
Death’s comeback comes as a sharpened growl, “I never sired any offspring!”
Unsure whether the flush that invades your system belongs to your bafflement to such a confession, or that fact that you teeter to-and-fro on the fine line between a school girl crush and pure hearted love for the rider before you.
With a defeated huff, you turn on your heel and Death steps forward, his arm just barely grazing against yours as you both now set your attention to the other three riders who now have free roam of your home.
“Do we know how long it’ll last?” you ask the eldest nephilim as you scratch at the back of your head. He gives a low and long sigh, his shoulders falling and his posture pushing forward that little bit more, but continues to tower over you quite a bit.
“I’m not sure…”
Before you is the second apocalypse in the making, with three little terrors to pin the crime on. The little rascals were tearing your lounge room apart by the minute and all you could do was watch, and all Death could do was obviously let your nurturing instincts take over. After all, he didn’t have children of his own back in his day. So of course it was a battle of shifting the responsibility onto each other as you both danced around, keeping the rambunctious three out of trouble and from destroying everything in their wake.
“No Strife, you can’t eat that,” you scold firmly and endure a game of tug-of-war that you refuse to admit losing, with Strife even as the size of a toddler but the age of a year old baby, he is still overwhelmingly strong.
“Are— all— Nephilim babies this— strong?” you heavily pant between each yank and stretch shared between you and Strife who laughs at your expense. You feel the muscles in your arms tire already but eventually you manage to snatch the stool from him, the legs marked with deeply embedded teeth marks.
“Quite so.”
So there was some form of child rearing with their race. Death has never been that forward with the history of his people, and you didn’t feel it was your place to push. But it brought an interesting thought to the forefront.
Before the spike-haired nephilim can start a tantrum, you take Strife up and into your arms, his hands immediately seeking out to grab your hair. Meanwhile, Death holds a very temperamental Fury by the scruff of her neck, his amber eyes narrowed thinly as he rasps a curt, deep-noted, “No.”
Her small fists punch and swing no to avail, babbling something in a tongue you can barely comprehend and pure infant prattle.
Death remains largely unphased as War thunders towards him in a short sprint, head and shoulders arched forward and rutting his head into his brother’s leg with a shrieking battle cry. With his other hand he does the same to War, holding the siblings that now enact their annoyance onto each other, what with the lack of Death’s engagement to their fight.
You’re struggling to even balance upright with Strife attempting to crawl over your shoulder, his overbearing weight threatens to crush you where you stand.
“Not so easy to deal with now, is he?”
“Shush, let me think.”
Death only chuckles in reply, the sound a crawling timbre you avoid paying any further attention to unless you wish to cave to your feelings right there and then.
You tap a finger to your chin as you ponder the next several steps, in which Death sparingly sneaks glances of your focused gaze, you put Strife down and sternly tell him to stay put before moving away to some hidden portion of the house to come back with a something the pale nephilim can only assume to be a torture device.
And he thought you were incapable of sheer cruelty up to this point.
“I used to take care of puppy litters for friends. This,” you pause as you set up the makeshift area, “will keep them in one place.”
Turning towards Death, you can only assume he’s raising a brow at the contraption. “A cage?”
“Sorta… it’s just somewhere we usually place pets – or misbehaving children!”
Your tone rises louder as you make direct eye contact with Fury and Strife, who attempt to fight one another, with War merely dangingling in Death’s grip. How he carries them with no sweat to his brow, you hardly understand. You chalk it up to his inhuman strength.
Now to get the three into the playpen. Death was secure in his role, easily dropping War and Fury in with no problem. It’s you who suffered with Strife making a beeline out of the lounge. For a baby of superhuman strength, he also possessed his supernatural speed as well.
And so, Death was treated to the sight of you chasing around an infant, his arms crossed over his chest and his head tilting every so often in the direction that followed you both.
But his entertainment had to be brought to its conclusion, seeing that you’re faring unwell, he conducts his mannerism with a touch of sympathy and snatches Strife as he makes to sprint past. The young thing is spiteful for this betrayal, hissing like some beast cub and babbling again in that foreign tongue, Death casts Strife into the playpen with his siblings.
“Took your sweet time, didn’t you?” you bitterly scowl with a glare, approaching the pen with waning breath.
Death’s large shoulders move up into a shrug. “Think of it as a debt repaid for all the times we were chasing you around.”
Your bottom lip sinks inwards, your teeth biting down upon the lump of flesh. The amount of times you inherently wandered and ran off while under their care had indeed written a long overdue receipt.
“Humans are curious and all that,” you mumble more to yourself as if it would serve as some form of justification but Death can only scoff at your so-called reasoning, no doubt rolling his eyes.
“So what now?”
“I guess we have to wait it out.”

The Milkovich house is a disaster. Actually, disaster is an understatement. Ian always knew how the Milkoviches lived, shit he'd lived that that too for a bit. But it hits different when you're one of two people now tasked with sorting through everything.
Most of it is trash. Some of it, though, is meaningful. An even smaller portion of it is pure treasure.
Ian pulls out a picture, clearly taken years and years ago. It shows two young children, more like toddlers really, dressed up in matching costumes. A Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
"Holy shit," Ian breathes as he stares at the picture. He knows it's his husband but he has to be sure. He flips the picture over and in neat, blue ink reads "Mickey and Mandy, Halloween 1997". He can barely process it. Little Mickey. Little Mickey dressed as Mickey Mouse. He flips the picture over again to stare at how adorable his best friend and husband were when they were little. Mickey is smiling in the photo, a big open mouthed smile, maybe even mid laugh. Adorable. Precious.
"Hey, whatcha got there?" Mickey's voice cuts through Ian's thoughts. Oh no, Mickey shouldn't see this. But also....
"Just a picture of you and Mandy." He tries to deflect, but Mickey's quick. He darts to Ian's side and snags a peak of the picture before Ian can hide it.
He expects curses, eye rolls, maybe a hand to snatch it from Ian. What he did not expect is how Mickey goes still then looks away.
"Throw it away."
"Mick-
"Throw it away! My...my mom took that. Before she...look, just throw that shit away." Mickey picks up a beyond-repair shirt and stuffs it into a 'throw away' trash bag. He stomps off into the house, leaving Ian alone with the picture.
He looks down at little smiling Mickey and Mandy. He can't throw this away, he can't just toss whatever evidence that some parts of Mickey's childhood weren't all bad. He tucks the picture into his coat and continues to sort through the mess.
__
Much, much later, they're home. They shower together for quickness and it really is quick (okay, there is some groping) before falling into bed together. Fuck clothes, they're married and at this point, everyone in the house has seen them.
Ian turns to Mickey and tentatively places his hand over his husband's. Mickey accepts it, a finger worries at Ian's wedding band.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"Shit, Ian, when do I ever want to talk about it?"
There's a long pause before Mickey presses his free hand to his eyes. "I dunno, man, it's just...I'm a fucking orphan. Terry was fucked up and terrible and I wanted to kill him, should have killed him, but he was...fuck. I dunno. I dunno all this feeling shit is just fucked."
Ian doesn't respond verbally right away, instead he scoots over and gently coaxes Mickey into his arms. Mickey allows it, his head coming to rest on Ian's pec while Ian holds his hand.
"I fucking hate him. He taught me how to shoot, how to hotwire a car. I hate him and he's gone. He...he hurt you."
"This isn't about me," Ian whispers, giving Mickey a squeeze.
"It is cuz I'd be...I'd be in jail right now because I'd have killed that stupid fucking nun by now if it wasn't because of your stupid ginger ass."
Ian pauses, listens to Mickey's breath hitch, feels wetness not from their shower on his chest.
"Do you want to kill her?" Ian asks softly after a while.
"No."
Oh so gently, Ian cups Mickey's jaw and tilts his reddened, tear streaked face up.
"I'm sorry you're hurting, baby, and I am not sorry he's gone. He hurt you and he can't do that anymore." Ian presses a kiss to Mickey's forehead.
Mickey doesn't say much more, either from exhaustion or not wanting to talk about it anymore. Either way, Ian holds him and he doesn't pull away.
"That picture you found was the best day of my life before you. Mom dressed Mandy and I up, we went trick'or'treating, ate so much fucking candy. Then she had to fucking die." Mickey sniffles and Ian holds him closer.
"So stupid, dressed up as that damn mouse."
"You were cute," Ian cuts in because he can't help himself, "you're still cute."
"Sap." Mickey pushes Ian without any real force, making them both smile.
"Yeah, I...have a confession, Mick."
"Fuck, what?"
"I didn't throw the pic away."
Mickey doesn't respond right away, just runs a finger along Ian's chest, fidgeting with some of his chest hair.
"Good."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
__
They're back at the house the next day. More trash. More hateful messages and books and shit that Ian would like to forget.
In the end, it's Mickey who finds it. He walks out of one of the smaller bedrooms holding a short, black book. He's staring at it like it's some foreign object or a bomb about to go off. Ian is by his side in a moment.
The book's label is written in that same neat script as the picture - "Mickey and Mandy Growing Up".
"It's a photo album," Ian whispers.
"Yep." Mickey's eyes don't move away from it. His body is still.
Ian places a hand on Mickey's shoulder, "You don't have to open it here, or even today or tomorrow. Let's pack it and when you're ready, we can look at it. Together." Finally Mickey moves. He nods his head and gives the album to Ian.
"Keep it with the picture."
Ian takes the album then leans forward to press a kiss to his brave, emotional, incredible husband. His husband who has the chance to be as happy as the little boy in the picture.

Just one dance (Penguin x reader)
A/N: I need Penguin in a suit please. Gimme this please. If you draw him in a suit, withput hs hat or writing something like that as well tag me please. I am down for it. I couldn't help but blushing as well. We don't know what his hair looks like neither his eyes. I imagine him like this, hopefully it's ok for you even if he looks differently in your headcannon :3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tumblr media
“Penguin, will you be my plus one?” You asked. Penguin looked at you with a shocked expression. “W-Why me?” He asked back.
We docked on this island yesterday evening and while we were exploring the island you met a familiar face. “Y/N is that you?” A pretty and tall blonde woman was looking at you with a big smile. Long story short. This pretty woman was your best friend since you could think. Her family moved away when you were 10 years old. Her father was the mayor of this village.
“Say, is there a festival going on?” You asked her and she responded with a smile. “Yeah we will celebrate a wedding and you my dear y/n.” She handed me an envelope “Have to come. I sent one to your mom a few months ago. But she told me that you were no longer on the island. Living your dream as a pirate. I assume the pirates outside are your crewmates?” She asked and you nodded happily why accepting the envelope. “Yeah they are like family. I don’t know If I could join, because we wanted to leave tomorrow. But I’ll ask my captain.”
You would love to attend the wedding of your old best friend. You cherished the memories with her in your heart.
“I would love to meet one of your crewmates. I’m sure you will join the wedding with one special person, huh?” She giggled at you while you were blushing. “Your mom told me that you met a nice pirate back then. He was your type. Well, we will see each other tomorrow night then.” With that she was gone. Soon enough you were looking for your captain and asking him a favor. After you told him the situation he was still looking grumpy at you. “Please Captain, she is my best friend. Pretty please?” You tried your best to give him the puppy look. “FINE! We can stay here for 2 more nights and you can attend the wedding party. BUT!” He pointed a finger at me. “No Hook ups. Capiche?”
Your face turned dark red. “W-What? I would never do that, you know that.”
With a happy smile you went shopping with Ikkaku and Bepo. Shachi agreed to do your hair before the wedding starts. He worked as a hairdresser a long time ago. This fact surprised you. So all you have to do is get a dress and get a dance partner. It didn’t take long as you found the most beautiful dress you ever laid eyes on. The last part on your list was getting a partner and you had the perfect match in your mind.
Back to the present you look at Penguin. “I feel comfortable around you and I don’t wanna be the only person attending this without having a dance partner.” You couldn’t tell him that you fell in love with him as soon as you saw him. He was the reason why you joined the Heart Pirates, but this was a thing that he doesn’t even need to know.
Penguin was nervously scratching his neck. “B-But I can’t dance plus I don’t even have a suit, why should I? It’s not necessary for us anyway.”
You looked at him with big eyes. “Pen please.” He sighed “C-Can’t I just go with ehm.. casual clothes?” You pouted. “I dunno. She is the mayor's daughter after all. Maybe Law has a suit for you? Or we can ask the stores if you can lend one?” He tried to resist your cute big eyes “Hng…OK FINE.” He groaned and blushed a little. “I will ask the captain or the shop owner.”
You beamed at him and hugged him tightly for a few seconds. “YOU are the BEST. One more thing tho.”
He was panicking. What more is there?
“Ehm… I suppose you have to go without your hat.. and ehm..” Penguin interrupted you with a loud “HELL NO!”
You were looking at him blankly. “This hat and me…we are one. ABSOLUTELY NOT!. Never. Nope! I’m sorry but no. Maybe you should find another person.” And with that Penguin stormed off. He felt insecure. Only a few people saw him without his signature hat. It wasn’t that he thought he would be ugly or something like that. He was scared that you wouldn't find him attractive anymore if you were able to see his messy black hair or his eyes that he tried to hide whenever you were looking at him directly.
You were heartbroken, you stumbled to the next bench, crying. It was not typical for Penguin to react like that. You realized that someone sat beside you, patting your back softly to comfort you. “It’s ok. Don’t cry please. I can’t handle this.” You recognize the voice of your captain, Trafalgar Law. With a sniff and teary eyes, you looked at him. Before you were able to speak, words came out of his mouth. “I have no idea why he reacted like that. I mean I can only guess. I can believe I’m doing this.” He was looking down on you, with a stern look on his face but a light blush on his cheeks. “I allowed you to attend the party, so if you want…I can accompany you. But I won’t dance. Ok?” You looked at him in shock. Never ever did you ever think that Trfalgar law, your captain, the surgeon of death, would say something like…this. You blinked a few tears away. Law was nervous. “We can still leave the island, if you prefer this.” He mumbled.
The day of the wedding arrived. After Ikkaku helped you with your dress, and Shachi did your hair, Law accompanied you like a gentleman to the wedding. He was wearing a suit, this was one of the rare occasions where you saw him without his hat on.
“Don’t stare at me or I’ll leave.” He said calmly. You were sitting there, enjoying the groom and the bride. Her wedding dress was beautiful. It was long, white with a heart necklace. It was her dream dress. You often talked about your wedding when you were younger. It was an emotional wedding. After the official part ended, Law excused himself to check on the Polar Tang really quickly. So while the rest were dancing inside, you were waiting outside, sitting on a bench. You could hear the music outside too. But now you were alone, sulking, feeling sad that you were left alone again. This was the perfect chance to get closer with Penguin, getting quality time with him. You sighed and you tried your best not to cry.
As you were looking down the ground you saw a pair of shoes before you. As you lit your head, you saw a young man before him. You never saw him, he was a total stranger to you. It was dark outside, so the lights from the party and the streets were shining on him. His right hand was at the back of his head, while he held his other hand towards you. He had black short hair and he really looked handsome.
“Excuse me.” You were surprised to hear his gentle voice suddenly. “C-Can I have this dance, by any chance?” He asked you nervously. It must have taken a lot of courage to ask a stranger this kinda question out of nowhere. You were stunned and were looking for Law.
“I am waiting for my partner ehm..” But you soon remembered that, even if Law would be there, he wouldn’t dance with you at all. With a sigh and a polite smile, you rose up and took his hand. “...I guess one dance is ok.” He was smiling at you and as you looked into his eyes you were stunned. His eyes were icy blues. They looked like the moonlight shimmering on the water. He positioned his hands nervously around you so he could dance with you slowly. “I’m not the best dancer. Sorry.” he said and looked at him with a smile. “Me neither.” Even though you never saw him, you felt pretty comfortable with him. His hands were warm, soft and still firm. His eyes were gentle and the most beautiful you have ever seen. This man was absolutely magnificent and everything felt so familiar. His smile, his voice, his touch. You felt happy just to see his smile.
The song began to slow dance and you automatically closed the distance between your bodies. You couldn’t help getting lost in his eyes, in his touch. He had control over you and it felt like a dream. As the song ended you both leaned in closer, there was just a little gap between your faces.
“You wanna dance with me again? Getting Lost in the moment one more time?” he asked you with a husky voice. You felt a shiver down your spine. You felt attracted to him, without any doubt.
“I.. I would love to.” You stuttered and looked between his lips and eyes. “But I can’t sorry. I am interested in someone and I wanna stay loyal to him, even if this love is one sided.”
You gazed into his eyes. “I am sorry. I really am.”
He was smiling sadly at you. “I see.” This handsome stranger was disappointed and so were you. “I guess you meant it earlier. That you just feel comfortable with me and need only a dance partner.” You were confused white he let out a low chuckle. “I guess it’s a good thing that the captain accompanied you for the official part at least. I mean.. Captain looks better in a suit than me, I suppose.”
You were blinking a few times as you tried to understand what the man in front of you talked about. Your hands cupped his face. “Pen..? Is that you?” You asked shyly and the man before you tried to avoid your gaze. “Yeah…who else? Captain said, you wanted to dance with me and asked me if I would be up for dressing like this for you at least for just one dance. Because I made you sad.. But I guess we were wrong.”
“Wait, Law said he had to check on the polar tang..not that you two were switching places. Not that I didn’t want to dance with you. I did. You were the one I wanted to go to this wedding in the first place.”
Penguin looked at you nervously. His eyes were staring into yours. “You..didn’t realize it was me?” You shook your head. “Your voice sounded familiar and your smile was as precious as I remember. But your eyes..” Penguin tried to cover his eyes with his hand, but you grabbed his hand. “Your eyes are the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”
Penguin was blushing. “R-Really?” - “Yeah I was shocked that such a handsome stranger would ask me for a dance. I could see that it took a lot of courage.”
He gulped and squeezed your hand a little bit. “You look very beautiful tonight y/n. I mean you always look beautiful. Are you disappointed that it’s me?”
You smiled at him. “Of course not. Why should I?”
Penguin tried to find the right words. “You wanted to stay loyal to your heart. I’m sorry for crossing a boundary by trying to kiss you earlier. For a moment I thought you would want it too. But maybe it was just the heat of the moment and I-” You interrupted him with a gentle kiss on his lips. After a while you parted away and looked at him with so much love and affection in your eyes. “Wanna guess, why were you the only person I asked to accompany me? Because I have this silly crush on you. Captain couldn’t see me crying and offered to join me, so I could enjoy this evening without being alone.”
Penguin was speechless. “So you rejected me for…me?” You both chuckled. “I guess so.”
He leaned in, and as soon as you closed your eyes, you felt a pair of lips on yours. This moment was magical and you wished that this evening would never end.
3rd anni req 13: satan, lucifer / sick
ao3 link
note: i don't have much to say i just think this one's real cute! takes place post-jtta ^^
∎ ∎ ∎ ∎ ∎
…something’s not right.
I open my eyes groggily. I find myself staring at a ceiling that - albeit familiar - should not be there.
“Ah.” Something yellow pops into the corner of my field of vision. “How’re you feeling?”
“Bad,” I mumble hoarsely, forcing down a cough and cursing my stuffy nose. “What’re you doing here?”
“What’re you doing here, you mean.” Satan passes me a glass of water with an encouraging smile. “Lucifer brought you down a few hours ago.”
That’d explain the ceiling. I've woken up in the House of Lamentation, which is definitely not where I went to sleep. I’d be happy if I had the energy.
“Your dad called.” Satan nudges me until I take a sip from the glass. “Said we’d better take care of you while he was still down.”
He presses the back of his hand to my forehead, then hums a little worriedly. “...your fever hasn’t gone down at all. Your dad gave Lucifer some medicine. I’ll go get him - don’t move, okay? Back in a second.”
It’s not the worst cold I’ve ever had, at least, I decide as he hurries out. But definitely not the best, eitherI hadn’t expected it to get this bad so quickly - colds always hit Dad harder than me, so I thought I’d gotten away with a tickly throat.
It’s so warm in here. I kick off most of the covers, then immediately regret it as a chill passes over me. The duvet’s landed in a heap on the ground.
“What have you done now?” sighs someone from the doorway.
I blink at Lucifer, then hurriedly attempt to fix things, as if he hasn’t already seen it. As soon as I sit up and attempt to reach over the mattress, though, the entire world tips sideways, and—
“That’s enough.” Lucifer’s by the bed in about half a second. “You need to be resting.”
He very pointedly sets me back in place, then stoops to drag up the blankets as well. I grumble something indistinct and allow him to tuck the corners in, even though I’m already starting to overheat again.
“I’m not convinced your dad gave us the right thing,” mutters Satan, trailing behind with a brown bottle in hand. “IK, take a look.”
I squint at it. Hydrogen peroxide. Must’ve gotten it mixed up with the Calpol.
“...well, I can manage without,” I mumble, waving the bottle away. “Just have to wait it out.”
“I’ve had Solomon on the phone,” says Lucifer, watching me carefully. “Mostly unhelpful. He’s suggested vinegar and onion.”
When was the last time he got sick? The Middle Ages?? I scrunch my face in response, too tired to come up with a verbal one.
“I didn’t think so.” He brushes some hair out of my eyes, then holds my face still and peers intently at me. “...we’ll manage. What would you like for lunch?”
“Nothing,” I mumble, pressing my cheek closer to his hand. It feels nice and cool. “Mrgh. Feels like my head’s full of bees.”
He thinks for a moment. “...some fresh air might help. Satan can take you around the garden.”
“It’ll be chilly,” says Satan a little anxiously. “I don’t want to make it worse.”
Lucifer lets me use his hand as a pseudo ice pack for another few seconds, then gives my cheek an unusually affectionate rub and stands up again. At the same time, he shrugs off his jacket.
“You can use this,” He says, handing it to Satan, and sweeps back out the door. “I’ll make some tea. Don’t take too long.”
Satan pulls a face at his back. Then he turns to me with a much gentler expression. “Alright, how are we feeling? Are you up for a walk?”
“Dunno.” I prop myself a little further up, then press my eyes shut as the room flashes in and out of focus. “...give me a sec…”
Satan’s already crossed the room when I open my eyes again. Without a word, he wraps Lucifer’s coat around me like a cocoon, tying the sleeves to fasten it, then picks me up like an unwieldy parcel.
“...thanks.” The more I speak, the more I realise how bad I sound.
Satan chuckles and presses a quick kiss to the side of my head, then starts moving. I don’t know if he’s going extra slow because it’s harder to manoeuvre with me in his arms, or if he’s noticed how much everything makes my head spin, but the rocking is more soothing than it is dizzying.
It feels like my head’s about to pop. That’s kind of overpowering everything else right now. Though it’s all still just as miserable. Ugh.
“Everyone else’s at school,” Satan says as he walks steady circles around the garden. “Your dad called early this morning, but Lucifer thought it’d be better if they left the house quiet. I’m pretty sure Mammon clocked him, but…”
The sound of his shoes clicking against the brick path is like a metronome. I follow the rhythm with my breathing, trying to ignore the congestion. “What about you?”
“I overheard him on the phone, so I bothered him until he let me stay as well.” He pauses. “...we’ll go back inside in a bit. You’re not cold, right?”
I murmur a no, gazing around at the hedges for a moment, then dropping my head back onto his shoulder when my neck gets tired. Lucifer’s coat smells a little like that woody incense Dad puts out when we have guests over.
“Well, you’re in no condition to go to school, so you can just stay with us until you’re completely better,” He says, partly to himself. “Lucifer can’t say no to that.”
My head does feel less fuzzy when Satan heads back inside. Instead of taking me back to my room, though, he heads to the library.
“The fire’s going,” He says, transferring me to one arm and using the other to select a book. “I’ll read to you until you’re sleepy again. How does that sound?”
“Nice,” I mumble, managing a little smile when he tilts his head down to look at me. His eyes are warmer than the fireplace.
Lucifer joins us just as Satan is starting on the first chapter. He doesn’t interrupt - he sets a tray on the table, then picks up one of the three mugs and sits down on my other side.
He listens, blowing idly on the tea, then hands it to me once he’s deemed it safe. He waits for Satan to finish the chapter to speak up.
“Feeling any better?” He asks, touching a hand to my forehead. He isn’t wearing his gloves today. “...hmm.”
“It hasn’t been that long. I’ve read that humans run warmer, anyway…” Satan lowers the book and glances at the tray. “Is that one mine?”
“You need to actually eat as well,” Lucifer says as Satan clicks his fingers and floats his own tea over. “I’ve asked Barbatos to drop something off. Is there anything else you’d like?”
The prospect of forcing anything really solid down already makes my throat hurt. “Not hungry.”
He sighs. “I know, but it’s important. How about some soup? Could you manage that for me?”
I resist the urge to simply turn away in protest. My head’s clearer, but it feels like I’ve gotten grumpier because of it, now that I can register everything else that sucks in higher definition…
“...maybe later,” Lucifer decides, almost unnervingly patient, and taps my mug. “At least drink your tea.”
It tastes sweeter than usual. I wonder if he added honey.
Satan starts on the next chapter. He keeps his voice low and even, but affects a funny voice for the dialogue - especially when it’s punctuated by French, which I’m not entirely sure he knows how to read. Lucifer stays through it all, tapping a foot silently on the carpet and adjusting my mug for me every time it starts slipping out of my grasp.
Some way through chapter four, the doorbell goes, and Lucifer quietly excuses himself to answer it. Satan stops reading without being asked, marking his place with a thumb, then glances down and asks softly if I’m feeling much better.
I hum an affirmative. As long as I don’t move too much, and as long as I don’t try supporting too much of my own weight, I can just about stay comfortable.
I hear Barbatos’s voice from down the hall, but it isn’t long before the front door closes again, and Lucifer returns alone. He resumes his spot on the sofa, then opens the paper bag that he’s come back with.
Satan carries on from where he left off. I glance up at Lucifer to see if he noticed him waiting. Sure enough, there’s a particular twinkle in his eye.
I don’t get to contemplate that for long, though, because then he pulls a pastry from the bag, and very determinedly holds it in front of my face until I take a bite - it’s soft and fluffy, and tastes of ginger.
Then he pats me on the head, as if to say ‘well done’. He doesn’t try pushing me any more than that, but I don’t doubt things’ll change later. Lucifer gets antsy whenever any of us miss a meal.
As Satan reaches the end of the first act, I start wondering how long it’ll be until everyone else gets back. I can’t decide if I’m excited to see them, or if I’m just anticipating the inevitable increase in noisiness.
“...‘Is the murder the work of some rival gang whom Cassetti had double-crossed in the past, or…?’”
Something brushes over my hair. I glance up at Lucifer. He keeps gazing ahead, eyes barely open - looking closer to sleep than I am. In fact, the only indication that he’s still awake is the hand on my head.
“...they left the compartment.” Satan finishes, then clears his throat and drains the rest of his probably-cold-by-now tea.
There’s quiet for a while. Lucifer flicks his wrist, and the sputtering fireplace roars back to life.
Eyes still closed, he says, “Don’t stop there. We don’t know who did it yet.”
“Sure, if you want me to rip my throat to shreds,” Satan scoffs, then holds the book over my head. “You do it, if you want to know so badly.”
Lucifer sighs, but opens his eyes and does as he says. Flicking to the right page - Satan’s deliberately shut the book without marking it - he starts reading aloud from where he left off, at the beginning of the second act.
Satan swings one leg over the other and leans over so that he can vaguely see the page, and nitpick whenever Lucifer misses or misreads a word. If I lean back a little, I can set my head on his chest.
Every now and then, he cranes his neck down to peer at my face. I’m past caring, but part of me wants to tell him that, if I wasn’t already sleepy, he’d definitely put me off with the constant checks.
I am, though, which means that Satan quickly notes the look on my face with apparent victory. He leans down a little further and whispers, “I’ll tell you what happens later. Get some more sleep, okay?”
Lucifer keeps reading (I note that he isn’t doing Satan’s funny voices), but almost imperceptibly nods his head. I haven’t said anything in a while, and I have a feeling it’ll hurt if I start again now, so I just nod as well.
I’m not used to being passive in the House of Lamentation. It’s hard to sit around and let everything happen around you when it’s all so much fun - I don’t know how Belphie does it.
I feel a little spoiled. But it feels really nice, too.
I close my eyes and let it all wash over me. Hopefully I’ll feel better when I wake up, and we can all spend some time together - it’s been a while since I’ve been able to visit. That’d make it even better.
Pairing: Felix x reader
Summary: You’re obsessed with him, enchanted by him, too bad he’s taken...
Warnings: fem!reader, dom reader, sub lix, handjob, marking, slight humiliation, slight degradation
Word count: 5k
A/N: I’ve had this written for like 2 weeks now but felt bad about posting bc i have a whole bunch of requests that i haven’t gotten around to. so if your one of the people that requested, dunno when i’ll get around to it but i will, i have like a million wips rn and i’m trying to get through all of them
Tumblr media
It was a bad habit, you knew.
Smoking.
You’d been a teenager once. Had the professionals talk about it, listened to all the same bullshit warnings; that your lungs would turn shrivelled and black-that cancer would bloom. Seen the pictures of the smoke-free lungs compared to healthy ones.
You knew it would end up killing you. You weren’t stupid.
But they filled you with warmth, calmed you down, made everything feel a sort of numb as you stood out on the balcony of the apartment.
There was shouting inside, laughter and talking, the others all hanging out, having fun.
You were supposed to be in there. Your step-sister-Avery had invited you, told you that you needed to make friends and get out more but you didn’t really feel as if you fit in with her type of crowd.
They weren’t actively trying to make you feel that way of course-in fact if anything they were very welcoming, asking you about yourself, trying to get you to contribute to the conversations, you just...
You didn’t know really how you felt, just that you told everyone that you would be right back, and now here you were cigarette hanging loosely from your lips, nicotine filling your lungs.
It was a horrible habit really-one you had thought about breaking dozens of times but never did.
You could stop anytime you wanted, if you wanted to but you didn’t need to yet so there was no point.
The slider door opened behind you.
At least smoking would take your mind off certain things.
“Why’d you leave?” Certain things like this.
Warm arms wrapped around your torso, head falling onto your shoulder into your hair, inhaling the smell of you. You and your slightly floral scent-perfume, maybe?
Of course along with the pungent stale smell of the smoke.
A smell that he hated in the beginning-it made his eyes water and his nose screw up in distaste. It was gross and bitter, a foul odour that reminded him of grime and dirty crowded cities.
But now the smell was you. It stained your clothing, lingered in your hair, clung to you like a second skin. It was addicting.
“Not really my scene y’know? Needed a bit of a break.” You sighed, twisting around to look at him.
His hair had gotten a bit longer but you liked it. A bit shaggy and a bit messy but boyish, cute in a way that made you want to play with it all the time. He had talked about getting a haircut earlier that week but you’d managed to convince him not to.
After all, the longer it is, the easier it is to pull.
That was your winning point to sway his decision.
“You should go back inside Felix. The others will notice that you’re gone.”
He cocked his head to the side, hair moving along with the action. “Why? Don’t want me around?” A small pout adorns his lips with the question, bottom lip pushed out in a way that makes your heart do flips in your chest.
You did.
You really, really did.
You wanted this more than you could even put into words.
Wanted to stay like this for just a bit longer. The feel his arms wrapped around you, his attention focused on you. Wanted for this to be a normal thing that happened, a normal thing that didn’t only happen when he was horny.
But he wasn’t yours.
And that was all just a fantasy.
You knew that.
You knew that too well as he nuzzled his nose into your throat, lips finding purchase against your neck. You took another drag, deeply sighing out, body shuddering as he whined for you to touch him-anywhere.
As he whined about how needy and desperate he was for you-somewhere-anywhere would suffice. As long as it was warm flesh against warm flesh, soft skin against soft skin, you touching him.
A moan slipped out, followed by another as he nipped at your pulse-point. “Please?”
His hands softly pushed your hair back, fingertips grazing your jaw, moving it out of the way for more purchase. “I need you.”
“Felix.” The words were a plead more than a command. A beg for him to stop, for him to make the decision you were too weak to make.
Because it was so hard to turn him down. So hard to tell him no because you wanted this-god-you wanted this so bad. Wanted to make him feel good, wanted to fill every single thought in that pretty little head of his. Wanted every single one of them to be you.
You. You. You.
Only you.
Even if it wasn’t true, you loved to live in the delusion of it-the fantasy make-believe world where maybe, just maybe he could be yours.
“Please, touch me~”
The cigarette hung loosely from your fingers.
“Felix.”
His breath was hot as his mouth moved lower, down to your collarbone. “You know you want to.” He muttered lowly, kissing up your cleavage. “And I want you to.”
The smell of him, you couldn’t even name what it was but it was utterly intoxicating-so much more than nicotine could ever be.
Some part of you came back and suddenly you were very aware of the voices still talking and laughing inside.
She was right inside.
Finally, with that thought, you were pushing him away. “Felix no, your girlfriend is right inside that door.” You stepped back, far enough that a good three feet of space stayed between you-almost as much as you possibly could on the small porch.
He blanched, trying to step closer before you held out an arm, pushing his chest back. “It’s okay. S-she’s with the others-she won’t come out here-she won’t-”
“No.” The word was concrete but your eyes stayed trained on the ground as it was spoken, avoiding the puppy eyes you knew would be staring back at you if you were to look up.
And if you saw them you knew it would be over for you. You knew that. He knew that.
“Please, I need you so bad.” The words were agonizingly enticing but you’d been around him for long enough to build some level of immunity to his charms.
“Please,” he took a step closer again, brushing away your arm as your eyes screwed shut.
You couldn’t see him but you could feel his breath fanning across your face. “You can do anything you want to me. Push me around, punish me. Just fuck me.” He pressed himself against you, showing you just how hard he was for you.
“I’ve been so bad, so, so bad. Need you to just fuck me back into place.”
Before your brain even comes to terms with his words, his hand was clasping around your wrist-the one with the cigarette in hand. Quickly bringing it up to his shoulder, pulling down his shirt to expose more skin. “Put it out on me.”
You’re sure your mouth is practically hanging open at the thought, lust pooling deep inside of you. “Do it-please!” He shakes your hand, desperation filling his eyes.
It would be easy. So easy to give into his whims. To let yourself fall into the trap of his desires...
"Miss you so much." His voice takes on a certain kind of desperation, lips trembling. "Need-need your touch so bad. Want you to bruise me, mark me, ruin me."
So, so fucking easy. To go along with it.
With a heavy groan you shove him away once more. He whimpers as you drop it onto the ground instead, snubbing it out under your foot.
“Not right now.” The finality of the tone has him sulking and whining but you ignore him as you pull out your phone at the vibration of a notification.
You sigh at the contact name on the message. The real reason you wouldn’t give into his whims.
Why you wouldn’t grab him by the throat right now, kiss him until his lips were raw and red, tease him until he came in his pants and make him walk straight back into there with his shame and your ownership stamped on him like a bright neon sign.
Because of her.
Avery: He’s with you rn, right?
You: Yeah
The dots pop up, signalling her typing before they disappear.
You: Why?
Avery: He just didn’t say he was going anywhere and I got worried
You: Worried?
Avery: Ofc! Why wouldn’t I be?
You: Avery.
Avery: Fine.
Avery: I left with Hyunjin like 5 minutes ago, we’re heading over to his place for a bit
Avery: Can you just tell Lix I was idk, sick or smth-literally anything it doesn’t matter as long as he doesn’t come looking for me lol
You: Okay.
Avery: Yeah, maybe invite him to stay over at urs or smth, I won’t be back at our place til tmrw and u guys are friends so it won’t be weird.
And there it was. Both the reason you rarely ever felt bad and simultaneously felt incredibly guilty about what you had with Felix.
Because while he was out with you, she was out with someone else too, so in a way you guess it kinda nullified it?
Made you sleep better knowing that you were fucking the brains out of a taken man?
You weren’t very sure to what extent either of them knew about the other’s rendezvous. You were sure he knew that she was cheating on him but doubted he knew it was his friend that it was with at the moment. And if she knew what was going on between you and him well she didn’t say anything and that was a pretty dead giveaway that she had no idea.
Because she was a hypocrite, not above starting a confrontation and spinning it around to make you and him seem like villains and her to be the helpless victim of the story.
Even as she was out with one of Felix’s best friends doing god knew what, knowing how much it would hurt him. But you guess that wasn’t so different than what he was doing to her.
“Hey, you wanna come over to my place? We can watch a movie or something.”
He perked up immediately at that, nodding quickly. “Yeah!” He knew what that was code for. He glanced down at his phone. “Should I go tell Avery I’m leaving?...Nah it’ll be fine, I’ll just text her later.”
“Okay cool, let’s go.”
The fire escape off the balcony landed right into an abandoned alley, perfect so you wouldn’t have awkwardly say goodbye to all of their friends.
You broke into a brisk walk the second you were on the ground, Felix having to almost run to catch up with you after he got off the ladder. “Hey! Wait up!” He shouted.
“Then hurry up, slowpoke!” You retorted over your shoulder, not slowing the pace.
Your own apartment was pretty close, only maybe a 10 minute walk but it was still cold as shit and you’d given Avery your jacket earlier. You hadn’t really registered the chilliness on the balcony before, have it be the smoke or Felix you didn’t know.
“Hey!” He panted as he caught up.
You rolled your eyes, trying not to smile at the way he linked your arms together, swinging them happily.
He looked happy.
A smile across his face-his eyes still slightly clouded and the bulge in his pants still ever-so present but seeming to be fine ignoring it for now, even if whenever he took a step too long or too short he’d have to suppress a moan.
Your phone buzzed in your pocket again. Probably Avery.
You ignored it.
Probably another update about her and Hyunjin, a reminder to keep Felix with you. Another reminder of how fucked up this whole situation this was.
“Do you ever feel bad?” You asked suddenly, the words blurted out before you could really think them over.
He let out a surprised noise. “For who-Avery?”
You nodded and he made a small noise of consideration, thinking it over before replying. “Not really, no. Really why should I? She was the one that cheated first.”
It was true, he could remember it all very clearly. They’d only been together for a few months at that point-basically nothing really but very quickly had either of them gotten attached.
He vividly remembered walking in on her with some other random guy when he came home from working on a group project after school.
He remembers standing there, frozen in place. Not wanting to watch but being unable to look away.
Stuck in his body. Feet glued to the floor. Eyes frozen on them. Forced to watch her moan out the guy’s name, for him to smile and leave a kiss on her lips, groaning out about how she was such a pretty little slut for him.
The next thing he knew she was gasping, pushing the dude away, yelling out Felix’s name in alarm. The guy was pulling out of her, eyes wide in shock.
And maybe he didn’t know she was with someone-maybe he was innocent in all this mess.
But she wasn’t.
And then his feet finally moved and Felix was running out of the room, trying not to cry as he threw himself into the guest room, locking the door and sliding down it, covering his face with his hands in an effort to hold back tears.
He could recall all of the sobbing and pain and apologizing that first time.
She’d wailed all night long like she was the one that had been the one to walk in on their girlfriend fucking another guy.
She refused to leave the house even when he yelled for her to pack her shit and leave.
She stayed, sitting on the other side of the door, banging and crying for him to let her in. For him to let her explain herself, like that would somehow make anything better.
She promised to not do it again. For two hours she kept that up until finally he cracked and let her in.
She cradled him in her arms and wiped away his tears, cried with him for a bit and promised and swore and crossed her damn heart, assuring him that she’d never ever do it again. Held him tighter when he gritted his teeth and told her again, to leave. But she refused. She grovelled and pleaded and ‘justified’ her actions for a second chance.
He’d ended up forgiving her of course but, surprise, surprise, only a few weeks later it happened again. The whole process repeated with the guest room and the begging and the promises.
And it happened again.
And again.
And the time after that.
Over and over until it got to the point where he was used to it-expected it. No longer did he lock himself in the guest bedroom, all that would happen with that was she’d get bruises all over her hands from banging on the door and complain about it the next day as if it were a routine and nothing more.
And he wouldn’t say he was exactly happy with this arrangement but slowly with each new guy he became practically desensitized to it.
When he came home from classes and saw her giving a guy a sloppy blowjob on the couch that had been Felix’s before they’d moved in together he simply sighed and rolled his eyes, ignoring the bitter twang in his chest and telling the dude to get out.
When he’d gone to a party with her and realized she’d disappeared only to find her practically dry-humping some random dude in the kitchen he’d just told her he was going home and to not wake him up when she came in.
It hurt, yes but through all of that he stayed with her. Why? He didn’t really know, maybe it was something to do with the fact that she was his first serious relationship and he liked the security of the title. Maybe because he was scared about how she would react, what she would do.
But for whatever reason he always stayed loyal throughout it all.
That was until you came along.
You, sitting in front of him in lecture hall. You who got decently good grades so the teacher’s paired you up with him, asking you to tutor him some days too if you were to have the availability, You who had a step-sister, through your dad’s marriage to her mom who just happened to be his girlfriend.
You.
You, you, you.
Who made him not want to be loyal anymore. Who made him laugh and smile and want to leave his cheating girlfriend once and for all.
And suddenly it was no longer the security of the title that kept him around, her anger or her small scraps of love only given when he begged for it.
It was you. Who reminded him how it would affect not only them but all of their friends, who reminded him that she was your step-sister and the issues and drama that would come along with breaking it off with her.
But that didn’t stop him from wanting to.
He remembers the first time he came onto you, it was only about two months ago-56 days to be exact-but who was counting?
It was during a tutoring session, he’d been watching you. Observing the way you bit your lip when you concentrated, a slight furrow in your brow. Fixated on the way your tongue would dart out to quickly wet your lips before you spoke.
Watched and watched until without really making the decision he was leaning in and kissing you and you were kissing him back and finally he understood how little Avery meant to him.
He could almost feel phantom hands on his body, remembering the way your’s had immediately gone to his hair, tugging at the silky strands until he moaned and then you realized what was going on.
You’d pushed him away all too soon, panicked and frazzled, yelling at him about why he’d ever do that.
Did he know what this meant?
Had he really thought over what this might do?
Did he realize how Avery would feel?
What this could do to you and to her and to-
And then he was kissing you again-desperate and needy, making you gasp out, grasping your hands by the wrists and placing them around his waist.
And then your hands were back in his hair, all over his body, taking and giving and feeling and exploring. Then he was under you and any thought about how Avery would feel was the last thing on your mind.
The whole experience was different. Then anything he’d had and anything that you’d had, in a good way.
After that you didn’t want to stop seeing each other and she was starting to question why he was getting tutored so much.
It started off as just sex and that wasn’t a morally good thing by any chance, but you could rationalize it.
You told yourself that you could stop anytime you wanted, if you wanted to but you didn’t need to yet so there was no point. And it would be easy, because there were no feelings, not as bad of a betrayal.
But it quickly turned into more than that.
To laying in bed afterwards, him curling up in your arms, pressed up close against your chest, fiddling with his hair, and taking in the way he smelt.
To enjoying each others company and nothing more during these moments-small bursts of time that started as one of you leaving right away, to staying for a few minutes, to staying for a few hours simply talking. About nothing. About everything. About your family and his friends, how your week was and how he wanted to be a professional dancer someday.
To suggesting good restaurants to him and to personally showing him to them. To days that one of you were in the mood and the other wasn’t, so you’d cool down and cuddle instead. To inviting him over for movie nights and making dinner together. To doing things without the idea of getting laid at the end of the night even in either of your heads.
And did he ever? Feel guilty about any of it?
“No.” Felix stated with a certainty in his tone. “If I could go back I’d do it all over again.” You unlocked the door and gestured for him to go in first. “But you never know...”
The keys were placed on the counter, “Never know what?” You questioned distractedly, shoes slipped off along with his.
“I might feel differently if you keep teasing me,” He rested his head on your shoulder, whispering into your ear. “Maybe I shouldn’t have even come to you...Avery would’ve helped me back at the house you know-”
Before he could blink, his body was pushed back, stumbling until his knees hit the couch and he feel backwards. And then you were on top of him, knees of either side of his hips, lips inches away from his.
A dark look had crept into your eyes, flickering over the length of his body hungrily. He shivered almost violently, he couldn’t help it.
“Wanna repeat that for me, kitten?” Chills broke across his skin at patronizing tone you spoke in and he was once again reminded of how turned on he already was.
His mouth was dry and his body burned in anticipation but he wouldn’t reply-couldn’t.
A dangerous sneer replaced the smirk, malicious intent written all over it and fuck, it left him throbbing and holding back the whimpers climbing up his throat. “C’mon pretty little kitty, you said it so confidently before.” Your hand brushed over his thigh and he whined, a pathetic sound that rolled off his tongue like an angel’s call to your ears.
“Say it.” You demanded, tipping his chin up to look at you.
“Please,” He whispered.
A single brow of yours raised, unimpressed. “That’s not what I asked for.”
He shut his eyes, unable to look at you. “M-maybe if you won’t help me,” His voice wavered, turning to a mumble. “Ma-maybe...Avery w-will.”
Your smile was large but the action didn’t convey to your eyes. Mirthless and dark-in lust or anger he couldn’t tell but could only hope it was both.
That was the only way you’d fuck him the way he needed to be right now.
“Really?” You growled.
His breath hitched. He was very accustomed to this version of you. The version that came out when it was just the two of you. Here and now. When he was needy and you were willing. When he begged you to do anything you wanted to to him and you would grant him that wish.
It got you into this head space where you wanted to remind him who he belonged to-not Avery certainly. It made you want to break him down and build him back up again just to remind him that you could. To make him forget who she was and who he himself was and the only thing left falling from kiss-bitten lips would be your name and begs for more.
He knew Avery was an especially sensitive topic to bring into this moment. To taunt you with her name in the way he’d just done. In a way that undermined your hold and control over him in these moments.
After all, you were nothing if not possessive.
And he fucking loved it.
Because now you were going to show him. Show him how good you could make him feel. Show him how well you knew his body and make sure he knew that plenty could try but no one could make him feel the way you did.
The laugh that came next was cold as your lips travelled down the smooth expanse of his neck. Nipping over his jugular, sucking harshly at his pulse point. “Does she fuck you better than I do sweetpea?” He could do nothing but moan brokenly in reply, arms grasping helplessly around your shoulders.
“Can she make you feel as good as I do?” Your hands dragged over his body in the seconds, touching him so slowly, so tantalizing.
Was this heaven or hell?
“Does she make you scream like I can?” It took a perfectly timed stroke to the words and he felt like he was go crazy with want, losing grip on reality, liquid heat filling his body with need.
He couldn’t even begin to try to figure it out in this moment.
Felix shook his head, frantically trying to find his voice but to no avail. You let out a chuckle. “When was the last time she touched you?”
And this time it seemed like you wanted a legitimate answer, pushing your body up and off of his, hovering over him. Those few inches of space devastated him, leaving his body cold and tingling for your touch again.
Your eyes trained on him, expressive and pushing, prompting him to answer the question.
“L-last week.” He finally croaked out.
At long last-which was only really a few seconds but felt like an eternity, you were back on top of him, bodies snug against each other. “Only last week?” You pouted. “Lixie, thought I was special, th-”
“-Y-you are!-”
“-Ah ta ta ta,” you clicked your tongue at him like he was a misbehaving dog. “No interrupting me sweet thing.” You scolded, pulling up his shorts to reveal unblemished skin of his thigh, kneading the flesh in your hand before continuing. “Thought I was the only one who got to see you like this.”
Grip turning harsh, you pried his legs apart, setting between them. “But it seems like you’re just an easy slut, opening your legs for anyone.”
He whined, pulling you closer to him if that was even possible, hiding his pink stained face in your hair, trying his very best to control his body. To keep his hips from jumping up and thrusting up against you like his body was aching to.
“No-she doesn’t make me feel the way you do. She doesn’t-” the words cut off into a moan of pure unfiltered unholiness.
“Doesn’t what? Doesn’t stroke you the way I do?” You taunt, slipping his shorts down to find...huh, no underwear, couldn’t say you were surprised. “Commando princess? And you say you aren’t a whore.”
Dragging the heel of your hand up and down him, slow and sure. “Only a whore for you~” he whispers through pants, breathing becoming erratic and irregular as you pick up the pace, increasing in speed.
You can’t help but laugh at the quip. “Whatever you say princess.”
He mewls, watching your head dip out of his view as your tongue continues your mission along his throat.
Tasting and teasing but careful to leave the skin unmarked-a certain amount of level-headedness able to still keep control over the horny thoughts beginning to run rampant.
Hand slipping behind his head you softly twine your fingers into the long hair you’d begged him not to cut and suddenly tugged, quick and harsh, giving you more space to work with.
You’re still level-headed.
But Lix has other ideas-rational thoughts replaced by wet dreams, hips chasing your hand for more and fingers threading through your hair. “Mark me-fuck! Bite me-please-bite me, bruise me!”
Something inside you thrums with heat and you gently scrape your teeth down his neck. “Dunno baby, can you really take that?”
He nods quickly, unable to keep his body from squirming anymore. “And what about Avery? You want her to see you all pretty-covered in bruises from another woman?”
“Yes! Please do it, m’ yours-wanna be yours!”
You freeze but he doesn’t seem to notice, too lost in his haze of pleasure, fucking up into your hand.
He’d never said that before.
You’ve called him yours-your slut, your pretty little thing, your whatever felt right in the moment but never had he said it.
...And the level-headedness was gone.
Your teeth sunk into his skin, leaving him keening, arching, tightening his hold in your hair. “M-more, please, need more!”
Happily, you could oblige to him and his request, carrying on with more teeth, more sucking, more fervor and a primal desperate need-like you needed to prove something-to Avery? To him? To yourself? Who knew.
Certainly not the boy under you who had lost any semblance of composure-not that he’d had very much to begin with.
A strangled sound akin to a sob left him and his legs wrapped around your waist, his eyes slipped shut-wanton cries and hiccupy gasps filling the room. “Please.” Was all he could say, your hand moving faster, matching rhythm with his thrusts.
“Trust me princess. When I’m done with you, you won’t even remember your own name.” The hiss in his ear had his mouth falling open, no sound coming out.
Finally you pulled away just a bit, admiring your work.
A piece of art that consisted of reddened patches of skin that would soon fade to purple. His cock, pulsing and throbbing his your hand, working up and down his length smoothly due to the copious amounts of arousal leaking from the tip. And lastly, the best part was his cute little fucked-out face.
Stroking his cheekbone lightly with your fingers, a slow smile crept across your face. His mouth hung open, eyes screwed shut, brows furrowed tightly. “And you sure as hell won’t remember Avery’s”
You were addicted to him, yes.
Just as much as that little deathstick you couldn’t seem to stop smoking.
But truly, in the end, could something that felt so good be so bad?
i wonder if you can write something with sapnap having a really talkative gf who interacts a lot with his chat, but he kinda gets jealous bc his chat is always ´hitting on his gf' for fun, so idk maybe you could write something about how he would react to this on stream !!
this ask has been sitting in my inbox for so long 😭😭 im sorry!! again, im gonna assume this is nonstreamer!reader. and i dont think he would be seriously "jealous" of chat so i wrote it more jokey. he knows you only want him 😌
anyway, enjoy! or dont.... :) m.list
Tumblr media
you two were sitting in nicks purple lit office, telling his chat about your day. he wanted to stream but also to spend time with you.
"and when we got back from lunch, we just took a nap," you laughed, looking at the chat. if someone started watching the stream on a whim, they would have assumed it was your stream.
as chats flew by, one caught both of your attention: 'id want to take a nap with yn any day ;)'
you scoffed and giggled, looking over at nick. he shook his head as he smiled at the chat.
"so, when i woke up, i realized nick woke up before me. and left me there!!" you said with a pout before you turned to glare at your boyfriend. "and i told you to wake me up when you woke up!"
"baby, i didnt want to wake you up," he said sympathetically. "you looked like you needed it." you pursed your lips and looked back at the chat.
'i would never leave yn like that smh' you read out loud. nick looks at the camera with a deadpan before looking at you with the same face.
"yn, you would have gone back to sleep," he said, trying to be reasonable. he smiled at you before realizing why this topic came up.
'he should have gone back to sleep with you' you read aloud again. "exactly!" you added, satisfied that chat was backing you up.
'i would have cuddled her 😌'
"guys, im right here! stop hitting on her," he said in playful exasperation. you laughed and leaned your head on his shoulder. he pouted and turned his head away from you.
"dont worry, nick, i still love you," you say with a smile flashed towards the camera. you kean in and plant a small kiss on his neck.
he turns back to look down at you on his shoulder. you pulled back and grinned at him. he rolled his eyes and gave you a peck on the lips.
he turned to the camera, "see, shes mine!"
Tumblr media
its short. kinda cute. i dunno, i liked it. if you didnt... my bad? anyway. hope you enjoyed! ive seen all the other asks, believe me. im just working with the detailed asks for now cause those feel more demanding 😭😭😭
Various Anime Boys: Being Told "I love you" For the First Time (Part 3!)
a/n: A late Valentine's Day gift for you all <3 Hope you all enjoy!
Featuring: Tomura Shigaraki, Yuuji Itadori, Shoto Todoroki, & Bakugou Katsuki
Warnings: Tomura being...Tomura, Endeavour being a jerk
~Part 1~ ~Part 2~ ~ Part 4 ~ ~ Part 5 ~
Tumblr media
Tomura Shigaraki
“Ugh, I’m not a baby. You go on to bed. I gotta get to level 60.” Tomura whined, grumbling as he thumbed at his controller.
“You’re gonna collapse from exhaustion, Tomu.” You replied, folding your arms.
The villain snorted, his eyes still fixed on the television screen. An RPG was what he was playing, of course. One of his favourites. “You sound like Kurogiri.”
With a huff, you walked over to him and maneuvered yourself into his lap, wrapping your arms and legs around him. He grunted and muttered a few choice words as you did so, but didn’t push you away. He readjusted himself and then continued to play his game.
“…You’re so clingy, you know that, right?” Tomura stated, his eyes narrowing.
“Mhmm. I know.” You replied. “If you aren’t gonna come to bed and cuddle me then I guess I should just cuddle you here.”
“You’re just gonna fall asleep and I’m gonna have to carry you to bed eventually.” He sighed, shivering a little as you nuzzled at his shoulder. “Fuck, I lost.” He grumbled, pursing his chapped lips.
“You’ll get it next time, Tomu.” You assured, running your hands along his back slowly.
“You’re distracting me.”
“Oh am I? The greatest villain in all of Japan getting distracted by little old me?” You batted your eyes at him playfully.
“Shut up,” He said back, but there was no malice in his voice. A small amount of pink had crept into his cheeks. You both fell into a comfortable silence then, the only sound being the effects coming from Tomura’s video game.
A few minutes passed like that until you murmured, “Tomu.”
“Hm.”
“I love you, I hope you know that.”
The ‘Game Over’ sound rang out from the TV. He had stopped playing, sitting stiffly after you said that. A part of him thought he had misheard you. How, how could you love someone like him? You were an angel to him, so kind and patient and caring…you wanted what was best for him.
“Tomu?” You asked, looking up at him.
He glanced back down at you before sighing, finally wrapping his arms around you and letting go of the controller. “Dunno how.” He uttered at last, but then pressed a gentle kiss to your head. “…I love you too, weirdo. Now let’s go to bed.”
Tumblr media
Yuuji Itadori
Watching movies with Yuuji was something that never got old, he always made it an event with you. Fridays were designated movie nights, and he went all out, every single time. Yuuji would go buy snacks, rent multiple movies, and set up a pillow fort, each and every time. You didn’t have to lift a single finger.
“C’mon, Y/N! It’s movie night!” He called to you, dragging you by the hand into the basement. Your heart melted at the sight of all the effort he had gone to just to make this a fun evening for you both. As you two snuggled up together under the pillow fort, which was smaller than usual (so you two were smooshed up against each other). Of course, one of the movies HAD to feature Jennifer Lawrence.
You rested your head against Yuuji’s chest, hearing his heart beat soundly in his chest. He had a wide, peaceful smile on his face, his eyes fixed on the screen. His arm was wrapped around you firmly. If anyone had seen you two like this, they would have immediately assumed that you two were together. But you were just friends…right? He was cute and kind and silly…and he was so sweet to you, he cared about you. And you didn’t notice how his gazes lingered on you, how his smile grew wider when you were around, how he laughed harder when he was near you.
The movie ended and you made to get up and put the next one into the DVD player, but Yuuji grumbled and held you tightly to him. “No, not yet.” He said softly. “S’cold without you.”
“Yuuji…”
“Please?” He looked at you with his patented puppy dog eyes, a small pout forming on his lips.
“Okay.” You conceded, lying back down beside him. He nuzzled into your hair, closing his eyes.
A wave of emotion came over you suddenly. You didn’t want anybody else to see him like this, to hold him like this. Before you could think, you said: “Yuuji, I love you.”
His eyes snapped open and he lifted his head, his eyebrows rising. “Huh? Did I hear that right? You mean it??”
You blushed, nodding. “Mhmm. I’ve loved you for a long time and…I don’t know, I guess I just can’t hold it in any longer.”
His lips spread into a giddy, happy grin, his arms snaking around you and pulling you close to him again. His lips brushed your forehead as he muttered back, “I love you, too, Y/N. I always have.”
Tumblr media
Shoto Todoroki
“I’m sorry about that whole…thing,” Shoto said quietly as he walked you home. You had been invited by Fuyumi to have dinner with the Todorokis, and it had not been a very pleasant event. Endeavour wasn’t exactly the most welcoming toward you, seeing his son’s interest in you. He didn’t think you’d be a good match, considering your quirk was not something that he considered to be powerful.
“It’s okay, Sho.” You tried to assure him, giving him a wary smile. “Your sister is an amazing cook, and Natsuo’s so funny!” You attempted to assuage his worries, purposely avoiding mentioning his father.
Shoto glanced at you, his hands in his pockets. “My dad, though…”
“Like I said, it’s fine, Sho.”
“No it isn’t. It isn’t fine to me. I won’t have him trying to control who I spend time with, especially when he doesn’t even know you.” He looked down at his shoes, “He doesn’t know how wonderful you are.”
You felt heat creep up into your cheeks at that statement as you two rounded the corner to your street. “Here, it’s dark. Hold my hand,” Shoto offered, taking your hand in his. You were on his hot side, so his palm and fingers were warm to the touch. But his grip was soft and gentle.
You walked a few houses down until you reached your door. Stopping out front, Shoto reluctantly let go of your hand, watching as you got out your house keys.
“Um…I’ll see you later, then, Y/N. I’m sorry again.” He turned, making to head off into the night.
“Wait, Sho?”
He paused, turning back to look at you.
You smiled, “I love you.”
His eyes widened, a heavy blush spreading across his cheeks. He didn’t even realize that he was walking toward you until you were right in front of him and his lips were on yours. To see his family, to not be afraid of what his father had to say, to still love him regardless…he couldn’t let you go, now.
Breaking the kiss at last, he smiled tenderly at you. “I love you, too.”
Tumblr media
Katsuki Bakugou
"Stupid dumbass idiot extras don't know a good fuckin' hero when they see one." Katuski grumbled as he walked into your room. He was still decked out in his hero gear, though he was a bit scuffed up. You were perched on your bed, eyebrows rising as he flopped down on a nearby chair.
"I take it the rescue didn't go all that well?" You asked, canting your head.
"Nah, it went fine. We saved everyone, but of course shitty Deku and Icy Hot got all the admiration n' credit. Everyone keeps sayin' I'm too fuckin' aggressive or something." He huffed, throwing off his gauntlets.
"Really? You're too aggressive?" You asked sarcastically, resting your cheek in your hand.
"Shut up, dumbass." He barked back quickly. "M'not in the mood for your attitude."
"Katsuki...do you ever think that maybe hero work isn't always about being admired or fawned over? D'ya think maybe that it's actually about SAVING people?" You rolled off your bed, going to stand beside him.
He didn't say anything back.
You sighed, shoulders slumping. "Why are you even here, Kats? You have your own dorm room."
"...Wanted to fuckin' see you."
You put your hand to his forehead. "Hmm, are you feeling alright? Did I just hear that correctly? You wanted to see me?"
"Don't make me say it again, dumbass." He snapped, swatting your hand away.
You knelt down, your expression softening as you removed his eye mask. "For the record, I think you're a great hero, Kats." You told him, smiling.
"You're just sayin' that." He grumbled in reply, but the slightest tinge of pink was in his cheeks.
"No, I mean it," You said.
"You don't have to put up with my shit, y'know," He said suddenly, looking down. "I dunno why you stick around with me."
"Because I love you, Kats." You replied quickly, not realizing that you had just admitted your feelings for him.
He blinked at you, his red eyes wide. "What the fuck did you just say?!"
"I--uhhh..." You went scarlet and swallowed, your mouth dry suddenly. You didn't get much of a chance to say anything further, because Katsuki grabbed your face and pulled you into a tender (but a bit rough) kiss.
"Wha..." You gasped when you broke away.
He rolled his eyes. "...Damn, I love you, too, stupid." His words were harsh, but his voice was soft and the tips of his ears were red. "Though I wish you woulda waited until I wasn't a fuckin' mess to tell me."
The Daughter's Return: Part 10
Secrets in the Files
Part 1 | Part 11 | Table of Contents | Read this on A03
Word Count: 5.7k Characters: female reader x Portgas D. Ace CW: they’re just being cute and flirty ;)
You silently led the way, blindly crashing through the woods. You had to put as much distance between you all and the mansion.
“Where are we going?” Ace asked, quick on your heels.
“I dunno,” you breathed back. “Just keep running.”
You and Ace had each lit a soft glow of fire to illuminate the area around you, but you weren’t entirely sure where you were or where you were headed. Just away from the scene of the crime. Away from the hundreds of high-ranking officials.
You finally made it to the outskirts of the town with a few isolated houses, and Ace pulled your arm back, forcing you to slow down. You couldn’t blame him, you were breathing heavily from the amount of sprinting you had done. Ace had ditched his Marine shirt a long time ago, but you weren’t granted the luxury of stripping your clothes.
He pointed to a darkened house. “We should go in and lay low,” he whispered.
It made you nervous being cornered like that. If anyone saw you go in, or if Marines were able to follow you, the two of you would be stuck. Neither of you fought well in close quarters. But you did need a place to hide, and it was unlikely that the Navy would be going door to door to look for two pirates. That kind of news would cause mass panic and bad publicity on their part.
You closed your eyes and extended your observation haki into the house, checking for any presence there. It was empty.
“Okay, let's go.”
The back door was locked, but you found the key under a nearby stone. The two of you silently slipped into the house and relocked the door. Ace moved around the house, checking every other entrance point to ensure they were locked as well.
Whoever had lived here hadn’t been back in a while. There was a thin layer of dust across the surfaces, which was a good sign. You wouldn’t have to worry about someone coming home. But someone had lived here. Based on the house layout and the photos on the fireplace mantle, it was a family of four. They looked happy. You wondered where they had gone to leave a house in such perfect condition.
“All clear,” Ace said as he came back into the room. “You wanna change?”
You were still in a dress and heels. As much as you wanted to change, you didn’t even have anything to change into. You had left all of those things at the rendezvous point, and you couldn’t risk going back to a place where the signal had been let off.
“There are some clothes in the master bedroom,” Ace said. “I figured we could camp out there for the night. It’s on the second story and isolated from the rest of the house, so we’ll know if someone is trying to get in.”
You nodded and followed Ace up to the room. He was right, strategically this would be the best place to hide. The curtains were already drawn, so you could keep a small light burning without anyone realizing you were in there. He had already lit a few candles and had placed them strategically around the room.
You dug through the drawers for a comfortable set of clothes that would fit. The mother of the family seemed to be the same size as you, and you found a baggy t-shirt and pajama bottoms to wear for the night. Tomorrow you would change into something more practical, but you wanted to be comfortable for a while after wearing such a tight outfit.
You went to untie your dress, but the string was caught on something. You tugged more forcefully, but it still wouldn’t budge.
“Ace!” you called.
The door immediately swung open and Ace looked around the room, slightly panicked.
“Can you help me?” You turned around, holding your hair out of the way for him to see your predicament.
“Uhm..” Ace’s hands hovered over your back as if he were afraid to touch you. “How can I help?”
“Just untie the knot,” you offered. “I should be able to wiggle out of it once the tension is loose.”
“Right.” Ace’s voice was tight and nervous. His fingers clumsily pulled at the bow, trying to free it.
“Didn’t expect to be undressing me this early in the night, huh?” You were trying to ease the awkward atmosphere, but it just seemed to fuel it even more.
Ace gave a shaky laugh, his fingers desperately pulling at the threads now. After a few tries, he muttered a string of curses, pulling so hard at the strings that you started to be tugged backward yourself.
“I could just burn it off,” he offered. You could feel a soft heat behind you as he spoke.
“Ace, calm down,” you said, giving a light laugh. “I’ll never forgive you if you burn this dress. I love it.”
“You do look…” Ace hesitated for a moment. “You look really nice in it.”
“So don’t burn it!” you chided. “Just slowly untangle the knot. I’m not in a rush.”
Ace’s fingers began pulling at the threads again, but this time he was much more purposeful and methodical in his actions. After a few minutes, you felt the top loosen, and Ace let out a sigh of relief.
“Thank you,” you said, giving him a quick smile over your shoulder. “Now get out so I can change.”
He left the room, and you could hear him pacing the hallway as you quickly pulled off your dress and slipped on the clothes you had picked out. You finally opened the door once you were finished, and he walked back into the room, shutting and locking the door behind him.
He walked around the room, trying to keep himself busy as you sat down to remove your jewelry and face makeup at the vanity.
“My old man,” Ace said. “Is the strategy for facing him really just ‘run’? That’s it?”
“Yeah.” You wiped at your face and neck, eager to get the contour off. “If you’re trapped, you’re supposed to talk to him, make him like you. Run when you can. He doesn’t tend to chase after pirates, especially when he likes them.”
“Did he like you?”
You smirked even though Ace couldn’t see you. “Do you care?”
“No. What are these files?” Ace picked up the envelopes off the nightstand and held them out to you. He was trying to change the subject, but you could see a blush spreading across his cheeks as you watched him in the mirror.
“Oh, those.” You had forgotten about them already. “I grabbed them to make it look like we were gathering information and throw them off the scent of the real mission. I don’t know what’s in them.”
Ace turned them over in his hands, examining the front of them. “They all look the same.”
You shrugged, giving up on your makeup removal, and joined Ace. “Should we check them out?”
Ace gave you an eager smile. “Gotta pass the time somehow.”
You took the files from him and spread them out on the floor. There were four in total. The two of you sat across from each other, the files between you.
“Pick one,” you said, giving Ace a nudge.
Ace bit his lip and then pointed to the third one in the lineup. You picked it up and opened the contents.
“Boring,” you groaned, already handing the file to him. “It’s just about Roger.”
Ace tensed, but he took the file. “Like the King of the Pirates?”
“Yeah.” Your fingers hovered over the files, trying to decide which one to pick for yourself.
“You think that’s boring?” There was a hint of curiosity in his voice, even though he tried his best to keep it neutral.
“Yep.” You picked the first folder in the lineup. “I don’t think he was all that great, that’s all.”
“Why?”
“I dunno.” You opened the packet, scanning through it. It was about a desert island back in Paradise. “He was King of the Pirates, that’s supposed to be neat I guess.”
You gave a dramatic sigh and continued. “People hype Roger up because he started the Great Pirate Era, which is cool and all. But what else? What did he do before that? What legacy did he leave behind besides the One Piece?”
“It says here he may have a son,” Ace said evenly, eyes on the paper in front of him.
You laughed at that. “That’s just a wild rumor and the Navy knows it. I don’t even know why they still include it in their reports.”
“He’d be about our age,” Ace commented. “You think you’d get along with him?”
“No way!” You scoffed at the mere idea of it. “Roger’s son and Whitebeard’s daughter? Can you imagine?”
Ace gave a nervous laugh, but you weren’t done.
“There’s no way! Besides, if Roger’s son is real, I bet that kid is a total snob. He’s probably always using his father’s name to get away with stuff.”
Ace scowled at your comment. “I don’t think he would-”
“My daddy was the King of the Pirates!” you spoke in a high, mocking voice. “I can do whatever I want! I’m going to be just like him!” You broke into a fit of laughter just thinking about it.
“No.” Ace’s voice was sharp, and your laughter was cut off from surprise. His tone was sharp, almost bitter.  “I don’t think he’d be like that. I bet he hates Roger.”
You hadn’t thought about it like that.
“Well, then he’s a leg up in my book. It’s probably the only way I would like him,” you said, giving another light chuckle. The whole idea was absurd. You returned back to your papers about the small island that hadn’t received rain in two years.
“Do you think he deserved to be born?” Ace asked.
You looked up at him in surprise, but his eyes were glued to the file in front of him.
“Roger?”
“His son,” Ace clarified.
That was certainly an unexpected question. You thought about it for a moment, trying to decide the best way to answer.
“Yeah. If he’s out there, I think Roger’s son deserved to be born. But I don’t think Roger deserved to have a son. Does that make sense?”
“Yeah.” Ace’s voice was hoarse when he spoke, and he flipped the file shut and set it on the ground. “Kind of.”
“I’m just saying Roger may have been King, but I’m not sure he was a good person,” you tried to explain. “He and Pops were rivals, but I think Pops did way more for the oppressed people than Roger. Nobody even knows what Roger did during his time as a pirate besides making it to Laugh Tale. If he wasn’t a good person, then he didn’t deserve a child as his legacy.”
“I know what you’re trying to say,” Ace said, but you could hear dejection in his voice.
“If Roger’s son is out there, I hope he got out of his father’s shadow,” you said, a softness in your voice as you suddenly sympathized with this unknown man. “It’s hard living in a shadow that size. Wouldn’t blame him if he hated his old man, just like you said.”
“Yeah,” Ace said, looking at you closely. “The pressure of living in the shadow of a legend is-”
“The kid’s probably long dead though.” You wanted to change the topic away from being too personal. “The Navy went on a mission trying to find any heirs the moment Roger died. I remember Pops being really worried and bringing me back on board. After that, I rarely left the ship until two years ago.”
Ace perked up at the topic opportunity. “When you went to Wano?”
“When I went to an undisclosed area,” you corrected.
“Did you meet Yamato?” Ace asked. He had his spark back, which gave you some relief.
“Yamato?”
“Kaido’s son.”
You laughed out loud. “No, Ace! I didn’t sail to Onigaishima and meet Kaido’s son. What kind of question is that?!”
Ace puckered out his lips, pouting at your ridicule. “I did.”
“You did what?”
“Sailed to Onigaishima and met Yamato.”
You snorted in disbelief. “I know it’s hard to believe that I went to Wano, but you don’t have to make fun of me.”
“I’m not!” Ace defended. “I really did that!”
“Really?” You laid your sarcasm on thick. “I’m guessing Kaido didn’t mind the intruder?”
“You never believe my stories,” Ace huffed.
“Because they’re unbelievable!” you cried. “I’m sorry, but I find it hard to believe that Kaido let you come hang out with his son, and you came away from both of them unscathed.”
“Yamato hates his father,” Ace said, his brows knitted together in irritation. “And Kaido wasn’t there when I went.”
“And you just sailed into Onigaishima by accident?”
“Well…” Ace scratched the back of his head, clearly embarrassed. “I went to kill Kaido.”
“What is with you and killing emperors!?” you scoffed. “I bet Yamato and I would have a lot to bond over, with you trying to kill our fathers!”
“I hope you get to meet him one day,” Ace said, his voice dreamy and far off as he thought of the possibility. “I want to help free Wano from Kaido’s reign. And so does Yamato.”
“Count me in too, then,” you said. “Let’s tell Pops when we get back. We’ll get together a team and-”
“No,” Ace said firmly. “I already talked to Pops. He said we have to wait for the right moment.”
“But if we-”
“It’ll come,” Ace said. “I don’t know when, but it will come. And we’ll be there.”
“Yeah,” you agreed. “We will.”
“What’s your file about?” Ace asked, looking at your hand.
“Kinda boring,” you admitted. “Missing princess. Small country being manipulated by a warlord. Navy report speaks like they know what’s happening, they just are observing for another year and a half before they make a decision on if they should revoke his warlord status or not.”
“The World Government is really an agency of the people, huh?” Ace’s voice was filled with anger.
“Give me another file,” you said, putting your current one down. “This one is making me depressed.”
Ace handed you a file and picked up his own.
Yours was on a recent attack from the Revolutionary Army. It wasn’t anything special. You could see that the report had obviously been falsified in some areas. The Revolutionary Army didn’t just attack people in small villages for fun.
Reading between the lines, it looked like the Revolutionary Army had stopped illegal weapon trades in a small port town, and had gotten blamed for the aftermath that came with taking down the weapons dealers.
The Navy had “intervened”, placed the blame of weapons on the Revolutionaries, and had taken credit for solving the problem overnight. The whole thing made your blood boil. There had been multiple Revolutionary leaders present for the battle, but thankfully all of them had escaped from the Navy’s clutches. While you didn’t know any of the Revolutionaries personally, you kept tabs on them in case you needed to reach out. The enemy of an enemy was usually a friend. And your mutual enemy had sullied their name for self-preservation.
“Tell me about yours,” Ace said. He could tell you were upset. You never hid it well. Especially with him.
“I’d rather not,” you said, slamming your file down. The Navy was always taking credit for things they didn’t have a part in. It infuriated you. “Tell me about yours.”
“It’s a Rookie Report!” Ace sounded thrilled, and you crawled over next to him to look at the file.
“Is Luffy there?” you asked as you scanned through the pictures.
“Not yet. He turns seventeen in a few months, and then he’ll definitely make this list.”
“Who’s on the list now?” Your head leaned gently on his shoulder, watching him flip through the papers.
He stiffened at your touch, but instantly relaxed again. “There are three pretty notorious ones. Capone Bege, Trafalgar Law, and Eustass Kid. Each of them comes from a different ocean. But they’re already making enough of a name that the World Government is starting to get nervous.”
“I've heard of Capone and Trafalgar before,” you noted. “Capone is a big mafia name in the West Blue right? And Trafalgar…” You remembered where you had heard that name, and how you weren’t supposed to disclose that information to anyone. “He’s up North, right?”
“Right. And Eustass Kid is in the South Blue. Which leaves the East Blue wide open territory for a new rookie.”
You smiled up at your sandy-haired commander. “Luffy’s stomping ground.”
He grinned back at you. “Exactly.”
You nuzzled yourself further into the crook of his neck when you felt him stiffen again. His thumb roughly rubbed across your throat as he examined the day-old bruises scattered across your neck.
“What happened?” he demanded, his voice suddenly brash. “Did that Admiral touch you? I told you-”
“You did that, idiot,” you said, jerking away from Ace. You rubbed your neck, conscious of his eyes on you. “Last night.”
“I did that?”
“I didn’t have any other guys sucking on my neck!”
“Okay, okay! Calm down,” Ace hissed, glancing nervously at the door. There was nobody else in the house, but you understood his jumpiness.
His fingers reached out again, softly grazing over your tender skin. They were gentler than earlier, sending a shiver down your spine.
You could feel your heart rate starting to pick up, the air suddenly charged with electricity between the two of you.
“Did you like it?” His voice was soft, his eyes peering at the few marks still left.
You gave a silent nod, your voice failing you. Your chest was tight from anticipation, waiting to see what he’d do next.
“Do you want me to do it again?” His voice was low and smoky, and you could feel your body beginning to melt at his words.
His gaze moved to your lips, and then up to your eyes, waiting for your answer. You opened your mouth to respond, but you still couldn’t manage to get words out.
You both stared at each other for a moment, Ace’s eyes trailing back down to your lips. His fingers were still tracing the bruises on your skin, waiting patiently.
You finally gave a nod, and Ace wasted no time diving into you. His hands wrapped around you and pulled you into his lips.
You moved to get more comfortable, sitting in his lap and wrapping your legs around his waist while you swirled your tongue against his. Your fingers quickly became entangled in his hair, and you sent soft moans of pleasure into his mouth. He held you tightly against his body, and you grinded against his core in a passionate response.
Your enthusiasm seemed to humor him, because you could feel his lips tugging into a smile as he pulled away momentarily.
“Slow down, love,” Ace purred, moving down to your neck to pick up where he had left off last night. “We’ve got plenty of time and nobody to stop us now.”
Promptober ‘23 masterlist
Main masterlist
Taglist
A/n - both Carl and reader are 12 in this fic and there is nothing romantic about it just a cute conversation between 2 kids who survived the apocalypse, Glenn is like readers guardian (like how lee is to Clem in twdg or Joel is to Ellie in tlou)
Tumblr media
carl and I are sat in the grime's tent talking about what we miss from the old world. "I miss chicken nuggets" I whisper with a smile. he laughs "I miss...Halloween...do you think its Halloween yet?" he asks with his brows furrowed. I furrow my eyebrows too trying to calculate how long since it's been since the world had ended. the world ended in august, and it's been at least a few months since well that's what Glenn told me. "Maybe I think its October already" I reply I sit up onto my knees and pop my head out of the tent. "Lori, do you think its Halloween yet?" her brows furrowed as she looks up at me and carl who both have out heads popped out of the tent. "I don't know maybe, why do you ask?"
carl and I both giggle before popping our heads back into the tent. "Maybe I can get Glenn to sneak us some candy when he goes back to that pharmacy" I whisper with a smile. he nods "you should ask where is he?" carl asks, and I shrug "I dunno maybe our tent" I reply "go ask..go ask" I agree and quickly get out of the tent and run to Glenn and i's tent. he's sat near it in a fold out camping chair. "Glenn, Glenn!" I shout breathlessly as I stop in front of him. his brows furrow together "what is it did you get hurt? see a walker?" he asks worriedly. I shake my head and smile "can you get me and carl some candy when you go to that pharmacy again?" he laughs as he rolls his eyes playfully. "If they have any left" he says softly.
-
2 days later
Glenn had finally gone back to the pharmacy, so now I'm stuck waiting around for him to come back to the farm. he returns back to the farm in the afternoon. "Glenn!" I shout as he arrives back on the horse he had took. I run up to him and the horse as he gets off of it. he kneels down in front of me, and I whisper, "did you get it?" he chuckles and nods as he reaches into his bag and hands me two chocolate bars. I throw my arms around his shoulders hugging him. "Thank you Glenn" I whisper as he pats at my back lovingly. I pull away and immediately run towards where our groups tents are set up.
"Carl! Carl!" he's sat in his family's tent "look! look!" I say showing him the two chocolate bars. his eyes widened as I crawl into the tent. I hand him a bar and we both immediately open them.
"Where did you guys get those?" Lori asks as she spots both of us with the candy.
"Glenn!"
Crossing The Line | Part 14
Said metalhead was wearing a leather jacket, black, ripped at the knee denim jeans with a wallet chain dangling from a belt loop draped round to his back pocket, a bullet belt, that shouldn’t have been as attractive as it was, combat boots, and an iron maiden tee.
His hair was its seemingly usual unruly mass of dark brown curls, and he had lightly smudged dark eyeliner around his eyes to make his eyes pop. That was the extent of how much effort Eddie had put into his outfit. And yet he looked like the tastiest little snack Steve had ever seen in his life, he loved it.
They were like polar opposites style wise but from the look on Eddie’s face they were both exactly what each other wanted.
“Sweater vest for Eddie” Steve parroted with a warm smile and a bashful little, “I figured… I mean… I thought you’d like it.”
Now, Eddie had turned up at that apartment, with the intention of figuring out whether or not Steve was wearing ear plugs at his gig and just lying to him to get into his pants (which, flattering, but also rude), and going from there.
But then Steve opened the door in that sweater vest. With that smile. Claiming he wore it because he thought Eddie would like it and his heart just did a series of pathetic flip flops and any hope of Eddie ever being mad even if he did wear earplugs went out the window because what the fuck. What the fuck.
What the ever-loving fuck.
How was this man real?
He needed to send Mike Wheeler a goddamn gift basket for sort of introducing him to the guy although he was pretty sure Mike would blow a gasket knowing he was severely crushing on the guy who apparently ‘ruined’ crazy train.
He didn’t even ruin it, it was just… a different style than Crazy Train was supposed to be in! “I love it… suits you way more than the metal look, definitely should have worn it for the gig.” Would have stuck out like a sore thumb but by god he’d have been the prettiest thing there.
Cool as a cucumber, Steve leaned himself against the doorframe, that bashful smile turning coy with just the raise of a brow and the flash of teeth “I dunno, then I’d have missed the look on your face just now.”
“Well I mean, sweater vests, cute glasses, slippers, are we having a cosy night in, Stevie?” Be cool, be cool, be super cool, don’t be a weird little nerd, don’t be a weird little nerd.
Steve reached out, warm hands taking Eddie’s own, then gently, he tugged Eddie inside. “Well, we can if you come in.” And he was hit by a wall of something delicious. A smell so delightful that his stomach just had to rumble in protest over the fact that he wasn’t already eating it.
Ear plugs? Who gave a shit about ear plugs really?
Okay no, he had to stick to some morals, even if his stomach was angrily telling him to wait until after dinner because then at least if Steve turned out to be a very sneaky asshole, he’d at least have gotten a meal out of the night.
“Wait wait” the door was closed but at least Steve seemed to pause, that smile dropping, replaced by curiosity, god how did he make that look cute? Stupid knitwear an glasses combo. “Okay so… this is probably gonna sound dumb, but Frank noticed it, y’know Frank, our bassist? He uhm… he noticed you were wearing what looked like ear plugs at the gig and uh…” oh god the eyes widened, his eyes widened, Eddie wanted the floor to swallow him whole. First real date in god. How many years? And he was fucking it up by bringing up something nobody else would bring up on a date with Steve Goddamn Harrington. “…Were they… earplugs?”
Fuckers would probably just be happy to be there. Could wear those big ol construction site noise cancelling headphones and nobody else would bat an eyelid, but it was about PROFESSIONAL COURTESY, Eddie was a musician too!
He didn’t want to be on a date with someone in the industry (wildly different success rates with it but WHO CARES) who was lying about liking his music to get in his pants.
It could have gone a few different ways, gaslighting being one of them, but Steve smiled, he had such a pretty smile good lord. “Mmhm, c’mere I’ll show you.” Steve was still holding his hand, so Steve had the full capability of pulling him through the entryway toward one of the two bedrooms in the obviously temporary apartment, probably just rented for the time they were there like an Air BnB situation. The room was pretty tidy, save for a little dressing table covered in hair products. “Theeese are them.” And he produced a little silver cannister from his bag and deposited it into Eddie’s hand.
Curious snooping was pretty much accepted in that situation, so Eddie unscrewed the top and emptied the contents into his palm, two sets of black earplugs with a little hole running through the centre, fitted with a sort of white mesh material which sat snuggly within the hole.
“…What am I looking at here, Steve?” Steve just breathed a little laugh and took one from him, then popped the centre circle out of one, the little white mesh disk sitting perfectly in his palm.
“So, short story long, I was a dumb teenager. Rich kid surrounded by bad influences, y’know the whole stereotypical drill, pretty much every magazine in the country and some outside of it painted me as kind of an asshole, ‘King Steve’ they’d call me. I hated it but it’s kind of like quicksand in those old adventure movies, y’know? Just dragging you under, inescapable. Anyway, I also walked headfirst into a low set doorway ogling Chris Hemsworth’s biceps so... I’ve had a few brain injuries.” He tapped the side of his head with his index finger twice in rapid succession. “That uh… it has side effects… brains are tricky, a few too many concussions can get you hearing loss, sight loss, it can get you chronic migraines, aversion to sound, lights, it can do a lot of invisible damage… I… struggle with sound sometimes. And my sight too hence the glasses, but sound is the relevant one here.”
Eddie tilted his head a little in question, a silent motion to continue, research had given him none of this information. Maybe that he was a shitty teenager once but nothing else.
“Sharp noises, like uh… electric guitars played in a certain way, speakers turned all the way up, I get migraines basically and these are designed to filter out certain pitches to make things easier on my ears. Maybe… maybe I missed a few chords here and there, maybe some of it sounded a little off, but I can still hear through the plugs just fine. Robin got them for me, they’re supposed to help people with tinnitus, sensory issues, migraines…” he took the plugs back one by one, placing them back into the cannister and dropping it back into his bag, before he returned to Eddie and retook his hands, giving them a gentle squeeze “I swear I could hear just fine during your gig, and I really enjoyed it. I really like your music, Eddie… I think you’re amazing.”
Eddie felt like he was going to spontaneously combust right there on the spot.
Flattery always did have a certain effect on him, and with it being laid on so thick, honeyed words without an ounce of dishonesty in them… there was really only one response he could conjure in the moment, “…can I kiss you?” And the smile it earned, worth the brain dead moment.
“Well since you asked so nicely, but only one, dinner first, kisses later.” Kisses. Kisses. Plural. Many many kisses. Eddie felt like one of those cartoon characters that got all flushed and then just simply melted. Even though the kiss Steve gave him was chaste, a gentle, but lingering press of soft lips against his own, one of Steve’s hands cradled his cheek and god,
How had he lived until that moment not kissing Steve Harrington?
“Nono one more” was his sole complaint when Steve eased back, feeling the breath of Steve’s laugh dusting his damp lips, and the caress of his lips so very close whispering,
“Okay, just one” before doing just that.
