I'm love with kk!!
I was thinking.... what about
Kk with older reader?
Headcannons or a fic (whatever you want)
Remember, take care and take your time. I love uuuuu 🥰💐✨️
love this idea!
I'm Not Even That Old
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: KK x Older!GF
wc: 634
Contains: a tad suggestive towards the end
______________________________
Kk definitely makes the most jokes about you constantly. Like the teasing is unending.
“You need help up, granny?”
“Shut the fuck up.”
“We can even get you a cane if yo-”
“Kamorea.”
“Sorry.”
Even though you're only 2 years older than her, she makes sure you know.
“How was the great depression?”
“KK, how in the ever loving fuck am I supposed to know that?”
“You didn't have front row seats?”
That's not to say that you don't get her back. Whenever she pisses you off, you just talk to her like she's 7.
The team makes fun of you, too, but KK makes sure she draws the line if she thinks they go too far.
“Granny, can you please grab my water bottle?” Ice asks.
“Nah, don't make the old lady get up, Ice, I gotchu.” Paige laughs.
“Say that again, Paige, I will jam all your fingers.” KK warns.
Just because you're older doesn't stop KK from protecting you. In a party, on the court, even when a playful fight gets a little too intense for her liking.
The game had been physical already and it was beyond frustrating for everyone, but especially KK. The girl that was guarding you was overly touchy, and the refs weren't calling any fouls. She tried not to let her agitation show, and she was doing a decent job at it.
It all came crashing when the girl knocked the ball out of your hand, catching you by surprise. You both dove for the ball, hoping to gain possession.
You managed to hug the ball, the girl’s arm tangling with yours. The whistle blew, and the girl didn't let go. You were both on the ground, and it was not an ideal situation, so you let go, letting the girl yank the ball from you, shoving you simultaneously.
The refs call a technical, but that's not enough for KK, who has a couple of choice words for the girl. “Shove her like that again, bitch, see what happens!” KK spoke rather loudly.
The girl turned around, approaching KK, pushing off the players and refs between them. “Say that again, and it won't just be a fucking push!”
You rush over, attempting to pull her away from the interaction. You failed, and the two kept shouting at each other across the court, both of them gaining a technical.
“Calm down, calm down.” You mutter as you guide her to the bench. KK just grunts in frustration, plopping down.
“My little guard dog.” You smile at her. She rolls her eyes at you. “Fuck off.”
The team is always coming to you for financial advice as if you're not in the same spot as them.
“Paige, my degree is in communications, how the fuck am I supposed to help you with fucking statistics?”
“You're old enough to have done college twice! I thought you'd be able to help!”
“Bueckers, we're the same fucking age.”
“You're older than me.”
“By a single week.”
“Older than me, nonetheless.”
“Get the fuck out of my face.”
When you two argue, you usually have to be the mature one, normally apologizing first. If it's really bad, though, you stoop to her level of pettiness.
“Baby, please, I'm sorry, talk to me, please.” KK begs.
“Are you ready to apologize?”
“...”
“Come back when you have an answer.”
During intimate moments, you'll often take the lead, and she claims it's because you're more experienced, but you both know that's bullshit.
When you tell her to do something, she often quotes the Family Guy Skit, claiming that you're bossing her around.
She doesn't let you drive, saying she doesn't trust your driving skills at your old age. (in reality, she just wants you to be her passenger princess)
Even though she's teasing, the age difference doesn't bother her at all.

izuku midoriya
nervous - like. really nervous.
he knows he's supposed to be, this is essentially a romantic interview, but those butterflies in his stomach keep tripping him up
his mom helps him get ready, giving him advice as they pull up a tutorial on how to tie a tie (it does not help...)
so nervous he almost forgets his wallet and house keys
practically runs to go pick you up! he's nervous, but so excited!!
would probably take you to a smaller, local place!! insists on paying, bc he's a gentleman ooooo
try to hold his hand? go ahead! but it's sweaty, and he won't stop blushing
walks you to your doorstep and offers a kiss on the cheek
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
shoto todoroki
keeps it cordial; inside he's giggling and squealing like a dork, but he can kind of keep that hidden, so long as he's not in front of you
his dad demands to pick you up and drive you guys..even though it's just a little picnic in the park. he hates it.
the air in the car is awkward times ten. there's that odd "i-can't-say-anything-bc-your-dad-is-here" kind of vibe, mixed with the fact that it was endeavor of all people? awkward, awkward, awkward
once you two finally get out, its like a breath of fresh air. shoto finally gets to talking, and you finally feel like it's an actual date
you two laugh while sharing lemonade and cold soba, a nice break from the summer heat while you were guarded by the shade
you two finished off the date at around dusk, enjoying yourselves by feeding the ducks at the pond
he walked you home while holding your hand <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
katsuki bakugo
storms around the house in excitement, a nice change to his usual frustration-driven pacing
he's confident (secretly insecure) but confident
he shows up at your house, greets your parents (he is sweating so much and his stomach is starting to hurt from the nerves)
lowkey smells like old lady perfume, but thats ok, he looks dapper enough
takes you out to a nice wing place, immediately trying to initiate a challenge as to who can eat the most in the shortest amount of time
if you win he will go again and again and again until he gets too full and has to give up
takes you on a nice stroll around downtown after! maybe stopping at a few stops on the way, treating you to little trinkets
walks you back home and gives you a warm, tight hug
stays up all night thinking abt you after (because hes a dork and i hate him /lh)

Part 3 to the fwb series.
You leave Eddie feeling a little blue after your last encounter... In more ways than one. Wayne visits and Eddie finds out distressing news...
18+ only. Minors shoo!
Angst ahead 🖤
Eddie had spent the weekend after your visit unbelievably cranky, horny and on edge. His argument with Chrissy had resulted in her storming out. "I'm not coming back this time Eddie, I mean it" she warned him.
Was it bad that he was really struggling to care? All Eddie could think of quite frankly, was you. After you left there was a sick feeling in his gut, some weird ache in his chest that he hadn't felt before.
Whatever it was he didn't like it. Not one fucking bit. Even strumming along on his guitar was no comfort and that always helped when he was feeling out of sorts.
He jolts out of his by a knock on the door, it'd probably Chrissy he sighs and signals for her to come in, dreading the argument that's sure to follow.
Turns out that it isn't Chrissy, it's his Uncle Wayne who's holding a casserole dish full of macaroni cheese and sets it on the table.
Eddie greets his uncle with a wave, his uncle merely nods then promptly cuffs him around the head, Eddie yelps and his eyes widen.
"What the fuck old man?" Wayne glares at him, he looks disappointed and Eddie hasn't seen that look in a long time. It makes him feel like he's a kid again, or an unruly teenager.
"Sorry boy, you know I love you but you deserved that. Had a long chat with that lovely girl who's dating Joanthan, Nancy Wheeler'' Wayne pauses to glance at Eddie and make sure he's listening.
'Now you wanna tell me why you're stringing along some poor girl, hurt her real bad Nancy said" Eddie grows flustered, runs his hands through his hair and wilts under Wayne's stern gaze.
"It was just a friends with benefits type thing, I made that clear Uncle Wayne" his uncle cocks an eyebrow and settles at the rickety old table, that Eddie has been meaning to fix for a while.
"Right, and you never gave her false hope I take it?" Eddie opens his mouth to say something, then closes it and shuts up. ''That's what I thought boy" his uncle shakes his head.
"She left. We aren't together anymore" he tries to explain, doesn't dare mention what happened a few days ago. Wayne begins to dish out the macaroni cheese and two beers, sets the meal and the drinks down on the table.
"That's not the point son, the point is I raised you better than to be such an asshole to a lady. Same goes for Chrissy, that shit ain't working Eddie so you need to do the right thing"
Eddie slumps down on the chair and nods feeling suitably chastised. Begins to shove forkfuls of his Uncle's delicious mac and cheese in his mouth but his Uncle's next words stop him in his tracks.
"Suppose you'll be happy to know that you won't be bothered by that ex anymore. Yn is it? Heard she's on a date with some hot shot tonight" Wayne shrugs and looks to Eddie, who's mouth has went suddenly dry.
"She's on a date?" he asks just to make sure he's heard right, Uncle Wayne nods and he suddenly doesn't feel hungry anymore.
"It's not to late to fix things son" Wayne claps him on the shoulder, gives his a sympathetic look. Suddenly, the knee jerk reaction to saying to himself that he doesn't care isn't working so much anymore.
...
He doesn't know why he drives to your house, he's sure he's just being a fucking martyr... Or an idiot.
Still it doesn't take long before he's knocking on your door, shielding himself from the wind and rain.
You answer and don't look happy to see him, his heart sinks and he's beginning to realise how badly he's fucked up.
"Wayne said you had a date" he says to you and you nod, don't give anything else away.
"Why are you here Munson?" Munson not Eddie, he doesn't know what to say, he's scrambling for something, anything to think of.
"I messed up, I'm sorry sweetheart" you pause, clearly you weren't expecting Eddie to outright apologise, show up at your door.
"Apology accepted, but it's too late Eddie. You hurt me so many times, dangled hope in front of me that we could be more, then you swept it away. You didn't care when I left so why should I care that you're here now"
He growls frustrated, wants you to so desperately understand that he's sorry, that he knows he fucked up.
"I'm sorry okay? I don't want to lose you alright. I admit that now" he watches as tears pool in your eyes, you immediately chase them away and steel yourself.
"You already have lost me Eddie" your voice shakes but it doesn't stop you from closing the door on Eddie's face.

Okay but look at this 😭😫👏🏻❤️🥺🥹 it’s such husband behavior and I could see all the 141 guys doing this tbh. Maybe except Price (I feel like he’d go to the ends of the Earth to find one and would be successful. Even if it means driving 2+hrs to every Tesco trying to find the cake)
What? Stop it right now. This is too cute.
Just doing read more because it's a bit long to list them all. All are SFW and fluffy. 💙
Price for sure is going to every. single. store. He's going to find this cake one way or another; he won't come home until he's got it. He loses count of how many places he tries. He makes store managers call other stores to see if they have it in stock, watching them from the counter with narrowed eyes. When he tracks down the last one, which is another hour away, he asks the store to set it aside and pays them double when he arrives for their effort (and to apologize for slightly threatening them if they sold it to someone else). Traditions are important to him and he'll be damned if he misses a year. "I know it's almost midnight dear, but it's still technically your birthday. Never mind where I've been all day, not important."
Soap is making a masterpiece. Baking may not be his forte per se but man is artistic. His creation is a variation of all the different caterpillar cakes; selecting only the best qualities from each. And yes, he looked and studied them all. He has pictures of them all over the kitchen counter with notes on each about what he likes and doesn't like. Then he sketches out his own picture and uses it as a blueprint for his design, proudly naming it Craig.
"Clyde's eyes are terrifying, bonnie. But I didn't like how Chris didn't have feet...they have to have feet or then it's a snake. And Morris was boring, not enough stripes."
Gaz is in the kitchen for hours baking. He's bought everything he needs in bulk because he knows it's going to be a learning curve. He ends up with multiple failures, that he'll take to the team to devour, before finally getting it right. By the time he finishes, the kitchen is a disaster—every pan, bowl, plate, and pot (yes pot, he ran out of clean bowls) is dirty by the time he finishes. And flour? It's everywhere, his hair, clothes, the cat. "Stay out of the kitchen. Just sit here and enjoy this...I'll be back in a bit. If you see the cat just brush him off for me, yeah?"
Ghost enlists Soap to help him. It ends up with a bunch of arguing about how to do it. They fight over where to put the milk chocolate decorative pieces, the proper spacing of the eyes, the size of the feet and every other little imperfection Ghost can find. Soap eventually leaves telling Ghost to do it himself...before coming back thirty minutes later to help him finish. It's a bit lumpy and there are little slashes where it had been pulled apart and resealed with chocolate icing like glue from Ghost's attempts to get it perfect. "It's a bit beat up, sorry love. Tried to make it perfect for you, now it looks like he's been to war with all the scars."
Bonus:
Alex, poor soul, had no idea this kind of cake was even a thing at first. He assumed a caterpillar cake was just a sheet cake with the Very Hungry Caterpillar on it until you explained. Once he knows what it is, you get a caterpillar cake every year; he doesn't care that shipping costs three times as much as the cake itself. But this year the shipment runs late and he has to call in backup...which involves Gaz going to the shops to sweet talk the little old lady bakers for their recipe while Alex frantically takes notes. He only has a few hours to get it together and while he does his best...it's the thought that counts right? At least it tastes like it's supposed to.
"I know it's not Colin but if you squint hard enough it's vaguely a caterpillar....really squint, maybe cover one eye, and stand back a few feet. I promise your real one is on its way, just had a bit of delay."

───────── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ────────
Blond hair flowed freely through the wind as the bright, cherry-red Ferrari 308 drove down the desolate Arizona road. Music blared from the car as it raced through the empty route. The driver of it didn’t have a care in the world as he held a phone to his ear, his free hand on the steering wheel.
“Diesel! Trust me here, I’m doin’ fine, I know where I’m going!”, a laugh rang through the car, as the man spoke, his grin large as he kept his eyes on the road.
“I know you know where you’re going, Shawn... But you’re in the middle of nowhere” the other voice rang through the phone before continuing, “You’ve already said you’re taking a ’shortcut’ but I just don’t think It’s a good idea!” the voice argued back, trying to reason with the stubborn man.
Shawn rolled his eyes before a soft huff left his lips, he was used to his bodyguard being overprotective, they always traveled together! Wherever Shawn went, a 6’10, hunk-of-a-man followed him. But not this time. The young 30-year-old man wanted to travel by himself! He knew the area reasonably well… maybe just enough to get him to the closest town and ask for directions. But Diesel didn’t have to know!
“Diesel, Hun, Big Daddy Coolio, I’ll be fine, I’ll be there for Ramon’s photoshoot with what's-his-face…” Shawn hummed to himself, rambling softly to himself as he tried to figure out who he was working with again. Before he could even figure out the guy’s name, Diesel’s deep voice rang through his phone again.
“You’re working with Kid, Ramon’s toyboy or whatever.”
“Riight… That guy, yeah, I won't miss it, anyway, gotta go, phone is gonna die, Byyee!” And just like that, with a small click, Shawn hung up the phone before Diesel could say goodbye. He carefully tossed his phone to the empty passenger seat before adjusting the thick, black sunglasses on his face, humming along to the music on the radio. It had been a glorious drive so far. No traffic, the sun was hot, there were no clouds in the sky… and there was nobody to annoy him- other than Diesel every 15 minutes.
It was definitely a perfect drive, yet there was one small problem. Fuel. Shawn’s trusty lady was running low, and the next gas station was a good 50 miles out, but there was a small town coming up in a few miles. It was a risk to turn off into the town. There was the chance there was no gas station in the town in the middle of nowhere. But there was just a nagging feeling, something that just drew Shawn’s attention to this town. It just seemed to call his name, and who was he to ignore that feeling? Shawn stepped on the gas, dust blowing behind the wheels as he sped up, going way past the speed limit before he reached the town that seemed to hypnotize him.
Shawn wasn’t sure what he was expecting when he drove through the town. He was used to the luxurious life, like main cities from New York to Los Angeles… but this was beyond different. It was small, tiny, barely anything compared to what he was accustomed to. There wasn’t anything branded, no hotels with infinity pools, no Prada stores, nothing! There was barely anything in this town other than small boutiques, a few restaurants and a few small businesses, as well as a few houses.
“There has to be a gas station in this place…” Shawn mumbled to himself, trying to distract himself away from the feeling he had awhile ago.
Driving around aimlessly didn’t seem to get Shawn anywhere, there wasn’t a gas station in sight, and his car didn’t have enough fuel by the sounds of it as it seemed to hiss and moaning from his beloved Ferrari. However, what Shawn didn’t expect though was the sight of smoke appearing from underneath the hood of his car. He hadn’t realized how hot it was in this place.
“Shit, Shit, SHIT!” Shawn gasped out, quickly pulling up to the side, and turning off his car. He scrambled to get out of his car with urgency, slamming the door shut. Shawn quickly moved to the front of the car, lifting the hood with a slight hiss of pain from how hot the metal was and how smokey the engine was. He drafted away most of the dark smoke with a small cough before moving back.
“Son of a bitch!” he hissed out in anger, kicking his car slightly with his black leather boot. Oh, how Diesel was right about taking this shitty shortcut. He could see Diesel’s smug face in his mind, which pissed him off more. He hated being wrong. He couldn’t stand it. Rubbing the stubble on his face in frustration, Shawn paced in circles in front of his car, kicking slightly at the dirt on the floor. What the fuck was he supposed to do? Shawn’s blue eyes glanced around, looking at the almost empty street, seeing a few people staring his way before looking away as he looked at them. They weren’t gonna help, clearly. Shawn grunted slightly before slamming the hood down. He had to figure something out, but calling Diesel was not one of them. He could try to find a mechanic, but it meant he had to leave his sweet, beloved Ferrari behind for now… with a reluctant, annoyed huff, Shawn grabbed what he needed from his car, his phone, wallet and keys, before starting his walk to find a mechanic.
Instantly, Shawn knew he was out of place as he walked down the street. He was dolled up in his finest clothes, that being a white, open-shirt bought from Polo Ralph Lauren, khaki brown pants from the same place, his favorite Gucci belt in black and gold and finally his favorite pair of black leather boots, ones with a small heel. Of course, he had a few accessories, like a gold watch and matching earrings. He wouldn’t leave the house without them! This was one of his more ‘casual’ outfits, something he would wear to go shopping in New York. But being in this town? It looked like he was overdressed and everyone walking by gave him a second look. Now, Shawn loved the attention. He loved having people’s eyes on him. People would even say he craved it, but the looks he was being given now, it was more looks of judgment. Shawn mindlessly messed with his shirt, trying to flatten down invisible creases, trying to distract himself from the looks. A mechanic couldn’t be too far away.
A few minutes' walk eventually turned into a 15-minute walk into the town. He had passed more small shops including a bakery (which looked heavenly, from the strawberry cakes that looked freshly made to the croissants that Shawn would have loved to buy), a few cafes, a general store and even a liquor store which he kept in mind. Luckily, he had eventually found the town's repair shop. It looked like an older building, the corners of the building being rusted, yet a new sign in black and neon pink stood out on the building, reading out ‘Hart & Co. Auto Repair’. Loud country music was blasting, and the smell of oil and rubber burnt Shawn’s nose slightly, something he definitely wasn’t used to. As he entered the small shop, he noticed a pair of blue overall cover legs underneath a truck and humming coming from the person. He glanced around the shop, trying to spot anyone else in there, but no one else was in the small space, not even a customer. Shawn cleared his throat, trying to get the person’s attention, but it didn’t seem to catch the guy's attention.
“Excuse me? Hey” Shawn spoke up, moving closer, yet there was still no response. “Hey!” he continued in a louder tone, which seemed to catch the person’s attention.
“Shoot, hold on!” The mechanic yelled out from under the truck, finally rolling out from under the truck. The man who rolled out was quite young-looking, younger than Shawn, and had a baby face. He had blonde hair up to his shoulders and bright blue eyes. Of course, his sun-kissed skin was dotted with some splotches of oil and some sort of grime, and the blue jumpsuit he wore was covered in oil and dirt. Shawn looked at the name tag the other wore, barely seeing the name ‘Owen’ under an oil splotch.
Owen carefully stood up, wiping his hands on a cloth he had in his pocket before smiling at the man in his shop and holding a hand to him.
“Hi! Sorry about that. I hope you haven’t been waiting too long. I’m Owen. What can I help you with?” Owen asked, his voice surprisingly soft and surprisingly, not an Arizona accent either.
Shawn eyed up Owen’s hand beneath his sunglasses before looking back at the man’s face before taking off the shades. He gave Owen one of his charming smiles before speaking.
“No, not at all, just got here actually,” he began, licking his lips slightly before continuing, “I need help with my car- Obviously-, It broke down a few streets back, smokin’ and all… and no fuel” Shawn explained as he watched Owen lower his hand.
Owen looked slightly hurt about the man not shaking his hand, a pout on his face slightly. He hummed slightly before grinning and nodding.
“Should be easy! Luckily, it’s been a slow day, so let me put my truck down and we can go grab your car and tow it with the truck,” the mechanic agreed eagerly after his slow day.
By the time Owen and Shawn had towed the cherry-red car back to the shop, Owen had realized it wasn’t exactly the easiest job… It was a newer car, one he had seen no one in the town drive before… but he wasn’t gonna let this new customer down! Owen had lifted the hood of the car, already knowing it would take a few days to fix from the parts he could see, knowing it would take a few days to order parts… and then a few additional days to actually fix it.
“So… How long are you here for, Mr?...”
“Michaels, Shawn Michaels… and I was only coming here to fuel up. "
Now that was an issue. Owen pulled a face, wincing at the thought that he’d have to give this guy bad news.
“Well, Mr. Michaels, I… I uh, suggest you plan your stay here for a few days, I don’t have parts for a car like this,” the mechanic explained, as he glanced over to Shawn who stood nearby with his arms crossed.
“A few days? You have to be kidding me, right? Fuck… Diesel is gonna kill me!” Shawn groaned out, pacing around. “Shit, there’s a decent hotel nearby… right?” he asked, raising a brow as he looked over to Owen.
Owen winced again. Even more bad news to give the guy…
“Well… There’s a motel nearby… but it is a good 45-minute drive from town.”
Shawn ran a hand through his long, wavy locks in frustration. His day couldn’t get any worse. First, his car breaks, and now the closest place to stay is too far away for him! Diesel appeared in his mind again. That annoying, smug face. Shit, he needed a drink… or something stronger.
Owen could see the annoyance on the guy's face. He truly felt for him. He had a soft heart and couldn’t stand to see a customer disappointed.
“But! If it helps, you could stay at my family ranch for a few days? I can keep you updated on your car and you won’t need to worry about how you’d get back to my shop!” Owen offered. The family ranch had enough space to help the guy out for a few days.
At the sound of the ranch, Shawn instantly hated the idea. He imagined the place being muddy and just plain dirty! However, it meant he would have somewhere to sleep, and he wouldn’t have to worry about trying to get back to this hellhole, which was now his nightmare. He took in a deep breath, trying to calm his annoyance.
“I… I suppose it isn’t a bad idea…” He muttered, rubbing the back of his neck, “... Yeah, fine. I’ll stay at this ranch of yours.”
“Let me close up and we can be on our way then!”.
It was common sense to not take a stranger's offer to stay at their house, but what was there for Shawn to lose? He could simply tell a small lie to Diesel, just saying that he’s spending the night at a hotel… And the day after say he was stuck in traffic and then tell him his car has broken down, just to calm the man's nerves. That and Owen just seemed so… sweet. His personality was so genuine and that was so rare to see in Shawn’s life. Yeah, he had a social life as a model, but most of the people he had met never seemed genuine. The only ones he got that feeling from were Hunter, Chyna and Diesel. Shawn truly felt as if Owen did want to help him out.
Owen hadn’t taken too long to finish locking up. It did leave plenty of time for Shawn to have a quick look around the place. He quickly noticed that Owen was clearly a family kind of guy. There were plenty of pictures scattered around the workroom of Owen with different people, some he assumed to be his parents, others he assumed were probably his brothers and sisters, and maybe even some aunts and uncles. There were even a few pictures of a few kids- one that looked like a younger version of Owen- In some snow. But either way, it was a big family.
The ride to this ranch was rather quiet. Yeah, there was some small talk, such as where they were both from which Shawn found out that the man was actually from Canada, which was ironic. Another question had arisen as well, the question of Shawn’s job.
“So… You’re a model? I would have thought you were an actor or something,” Owen chuckled.
“That’s sweet of you, I did want to be one, but modeling? Being all dolled up, partying… It’s the life!” Shawn grinned out, not mentioning the bad side of the job.
“Ah, so you get paid to be pretty and to party… I wish life was that easy” Owen joked. He knew his older brother, Bret, hated that lifestyle. He was always talking about working hard for a good life, which Owen had to agree with. But the thought of partying every so often sounded like a great time. When was the last time he, Jeff Jarrett, Davey and Brian went out for drinks… It had been too long.
“I wish it was that easy,” the model started, “Strict diets, working with people you might not like with… The list is long, but the positives do outdo the negatives in my eyes”. The downfalls of being a model were clearly a touchy subject as Shawn’s grin seemed to disappear. The excited glint in his eyes after the compliment disappeared. Owen knew not to push further on that.
Owen hummed in response, nodding his head slightly, “Well, we’re almost here”.
Seeing a rather rustic house in the distance after seeing cactus after cactus was rather refreshing. The place looked rather peaceful in Shawn’s eyes. It had its own charm to it. The wooden fences that seemed to carry on for ages were cared for, the wood seemed almost new, even if grass tangled and vined itself around the posts. A sign soon came up as they drove along the side of the property. Shawn eyed it up, raising a brow as he saw the name ‘Hart Ranch’. Very creative.
Entering the beginning of the ranch, Shawn could already see a few animals around in different pastures. There were a few horses, even cows… It reminded Shawn of an old photoshoot he did, one which he enjoyed a lot. He got to dress up like he was a cowboy, the hat, boots and even chaps, the whole shebang! Hunter and Chyna were there as well and they looked amazing in their getup… even if Hunter’s horse he had to ride kept stealing his hat. A small, reminiscent smile graced his face.
The house seemed to grow as they traveled down the long, dirt road. From a while back it looked tiny, something that an old couple would live in. Yet now being so close to it, he noticed how huge it was. It must have been handbuilt, there were uneven grooves in the woods of the walls and fences in front of the house, something that showed how much hard work was put into it. There were even some stone bricks that decorated the oak wood. Bright, fresh vines climbed through the maze of bricks in the house, adding more color to the home. This must have been built years ago, even before Shawn was born.
Owen and Shawn exited the truck. Owen helped his guest by grabbing the large bag that they had lugged into the truck before they left.
“I’m not too sure who will be in… I know my Ma will be in, my dad will probably be working with Bret, my older brother, somewhere on the ranch… probably fixing something” Owen laughed, “and my sister Diana will be probably looking after the horses… So it should be luckily quiet for you, just for now at least”.
Quietly, Shawn followed Owen up the steps to the patio before opening the screen door, which had a beautiful panel at the bottom that had been engraved by hand into a tree, and entering the rather cool home, the door closing with a soft bang. The home was decorated with even more pictures than what was at the auto repair home, some that were in black and gray, their corners torn and frayed from age which confirmed Shawn’s thought of the place being handbuilt, while others were newer and fresher. There were a few shoes scattered around by the front door being in different sizes and styles, some being boots, some were flats and even a few heels. Owen placed down Shawn’s bag by the oak stairs that stood in front of them before moving into the large, spacious room to the right of them which Shawn slowly followed after.
“Ma! I’m home! I have a guest!” Owen hollered out into the rather silent home, the only noise he could hear after was the sound of the cicadas that buzzed louder. Owen continued to walk towards the kitchen, which Shawn assumed it was.
Instead of following the young man, Shawn looked around the cozy looking living room. There were a few brown leather couches that surrounded a fireplace, a few blankets were carefully and almost lovingly lined up over the top. Handmade throw pillows laid untouched in the corners by the arms of the couches, embroidery were neatly laced throughout the rather soft looking material which had quotes such as ‘Home Sweet Home’ and ‘Welcome to our happy place’. It was rather sickeningly sweet to see, yet it seemed to suit the home rather well. A large, thick cow rug of brown, black and white laid underneath an oak table, a mug left on a coaster, clearly left and forgotten by accident in the clean house. Bookcases lined the back walls of the living room, full of leather bound books of different colors and sizes before more newer kids books littered between well used and loved books. Finally, Shawn noticed more family pictures, one of a whole family that was framed above the fireplace in front of a different house.
Shawn wasn’t the type to get homesick. He had a pretty close relationship with his mom, but that was it. He’d phone her every so often. But even in his parents home, there were barely any photos of them as a family, as Shawn grew up, the pictures dwindled down until there was nothing new. Seeing these pictures though, it tugged at Shawn’s heart, the feeling of homesickness being more apparent. He quickly shook his head, trying not to get sentimental.
The perfect distraction eventually came, pulling Shawn out of his thoughts as he heard the front door open again. Shawn glanced over his shoulder, his eyes landing on a taller man. Now, Shawn may not have been the type to be homesick, but he was the type to be a hopeless romantic, and when this guy walked into the house? Shawn could feel blood rush to his cheeks.
The guy had curly, deep brown hair that reached his shoulders. His skin was tanned much like a god, the sheen of sweat clung to the man's brows and neck. His eyes were a dark, melted chocolate color that held warmth in them. And his outfit? Shawn was loving it. A black cowboy hat sat upon his head like a halo, his blue, checkered shirt hugged around his strong, muscular chest perfectly, his jeans hugged oh-so-perfectly around his legs. This man was something Shawn wanted and needed.
Silence filled the room as the man stared down Shawn, staring down his outfit before looking around the living room. It was an awkward silence, one that Shawn could tell that this guy was trying to figure out who Shawn was and why he was just standing there.
Before Shawn could even speak, the mans low voice filled the room, “Who the hell are you? What are you doing in my home?”.

Hello! Could you do MC with rode rage, just imagine a little sheep behind the wheel just screaming at people lmao you don’t have to but thank you anyways! Love your stuff :)
A/N: No because imagine a small fluffy pink sheep swearing and screaming behind behind the wheel. Sheep MC probably needs like 7 books to reach the steering wheel 😭
Also I don't know which characters do you want for the hc so I will use the demon brothers. If you want anyone else feel free to request.
Demon brothers x gn!MC
MC with road rage
Lucifer
There is a reason he is the one that usually drives. He had the pleasure of witnessing MC cursing that shit out of some old lady that jumped in front of the car to cross the road.
Who is more angry? Lucifer when Mammon gets in trouble or Mc while driving? The world shall never know.
He saw MC contemplating if they should run over some guys that pissed them off in the traffic or not one time and decided he should be the one to drive. For the safety of everyone around.
No matter how many times he scolds MC about their attitude while driving it never works, he has better chances of making Levi give up on anime than make MC stop having road rage.
If anyone tries to fight back to MC, Lucifer does a 180° and is on their side in that exact moment tho
Mammon
He is the one that usually drives because he just loves driving that much. Especially when MC is right besides him.
They acted calm while being in the passanger seat that it came as a complete shock when MC started to scream at someone while driving.
He fully supports them tho! Will flip off anyone that MC is angry at while driving. Someone tries to fight his human? You can bet he is right besides them in order to protect them.
Finds it hilarious most of the times. The times he tries to calm MC down is because he can see they are genuienely getting into a bad mood.
Lucifer might have to get the two of them out of trouble due to MC's agressive driving at some point.
Leviathan
MC nearly have the poor weeb a sheer heart attack when they started swearing out of nowhere.
Levi was playing on his phone so he wasn't paying attention, so when he heard MC screaming he really thought he upset MC and he started to apologize. It took MC a few minutes to reassure Levi they weren't mad at him.
After he got used to their road rage he fully supported. He goes full blown "Take that normies!".
MC kind of tones down their swearing just to not give Levi anymore heart attacks when he isn't paying attention.
If anyone tries to come to your car to fight he either trying to sink in his seat to not be seen or summons Lotan out of instinct. If he does the latter he won't stop apologizing to MC since Lotan probaby destroyed their car.
Satan
He can't say shit since he is probably worse than MC. It takes more for him to get road rage but once he gets angry enough, not even their road rage can compare to his.
Feels a bit guilty because he feeds on their wrath without meaning to. He has mixed feelings seeing them so angry. On one hand he likes seeing MC like that, on the other hand he doesn't want MC to get angry.
He has a pretty good control over his emotions, but he sometimes gets angry with MC, even if he isn't the one driving. It doesn't happen often but still..
He can talk both of them out of any trouble MC might get in since he has a lot of connections both in Devildom and in the human world.
If MC really wants to run over some jerk he will turn a blind eye to it. He knows how to hide a dead body and knows the right people in order to cover the crime.
that reminds of that one time he offered to kill someone for MC
Asmodeus
He finds it both entertaining and frustrating. He finds it funny the way MC reacts but he is also worried for them, that much rage is not good for their health. "MC, dear, please calm down, it's not good for your skin to be that angry!"
He makes devilgram stories of MC cursing out some poor demon/human when driving. Those always get viral, which means Lucifer finds out pretty quick and they're in for one hell of a scolding..
Offers MC to relieve them of their stress while driving. I will leave that up to you to imagine.
MC gets in trouble with some random demon/human or the police? No worries he will use his charm to get them out of trouble.
If he gets offended on MC's behalf he will make a post about it on social media to probably ruin that person's day. They should have thought better than to do whatever got him mad.
Beelzebub
Who should demons be more afraid of? Some sheep human cursing them out or some giant demon? People and demons alike tend to leave MC alone when they see Beel sitting next to them.
Tries to get MC to calm down, that much anger is not good for their stomach. Big chance he suggets the two of them go to McDonalds or something after that.
He honestly thought for the first few times that MC was expressing some repressed anger in their road rage so he tried to get them into some sport to let out their anger in a more healthy way. It turns out they just have road rage, no repressed feelings probably
Another demon MC calms down for. They don't like seeing Beelzebub lookig like a kicked puppy when they get mad. If they do have a good reason for their road rage, Beelzebub will support them. In what? Probably scaring some demons/people away, they will run just from seeing him.
Idk why but he seems like the type to just pet MC's head when they get angry. Like how he would try to calm down an angry Cerberus when he needs to give him a bath. It works too, which he didn't really expect.
Belphegor
It took him a while to notice MC's road rage because he would sleep thought the entire car ride. When he woke up one day to screaming in the car he thought Satan was driving for a second
As along as MC doesn't wake him up he doesn't mind them cursing out some random demon while driving. MC can run them over for all he cares.
During the times he is awake he finds it entertaining. That's what they get for getting into MC's way.
Chances are he had to use his powers to put someone to sleep more than one time.
After driving he always insists that MC goes and takes a nap with him as a way to relax and let out all that anger. It's a pretty lame excuse for him to get cuddles but MC doesn't really seem to care.

something about july. pt 1
pairing. outdoors staff! ellie williams x pool staff f! reader.
synopsis. ellie has been working at this summer camp for the last 5 years, and when she spots you for the first time blowing up pool floats with Dina, she knows she's in trouble. ellie and reader find themselves flirting every chance they get, pulling pranks and having a sweet summer fling. warnings. right now it's just fluff and wholesome, use of y/n, friends to lovers trope but eventual 18+. eventual mention and usage of substances, drunk/high kissing, and makeout woot woot.
an. lol so this is my first time writing a fic in a while. wanted smthn that would make you wanna kick your feet and giggle, so i present to you part one of summer camp ellie and reader <3 p.s. apologies in advance, editing as I go lol.
Tumblr media
It's 9:00 am on a Saturday in July, and Ellie pulls up to the campground that's already buzzing with excitement and chatter. Dust flies behind her truck as she drives along the dirt road and gravel through the camp. Window down, the summer breeze and smell of pine fills her car bringing a smile to her lips. Damn I missed this, she thinks.
She immediately recognizes her friends and fellow staff among the small crowd, they work hard to move tables and haul in groceries for this weeks meals, others are organizing gear and supplies for hikes– which she should be doing at this moment.
"You're late Williams!" Ellie looks to her left to find the source of the oh so familiar playful chide. The camp director approaches her car with a grin on her face. She slows down to pull up next to the woman, leaning her left arm out the window.
"Morning Maggie, beautiful start to the week, huh?" She looks at the older woman, salt and pepper hair in a wild bun, navy blue t-shirt with the camp's logo written across the front and back in a faded white. Her busy clipboard propped against her hip cladded in worn-out denim jeans. She embodies camp mom in every single way, and Ellie missed her like no other.
"It would be, if all of my staff got here on time!" She smacks Ellie's arm playfully with her hand. "We got new staff this year, and the boys are already tormenting them!" She turns around to point to Joel and Tommy under the roof of the mess hall on the left. The brothers laughing as they already finish tying one of the new outdoors crew members' shoes to the beam.
Ellie sticks her head out the window to shout to them. "Better hide the ladder once you're done!"
"Don't worry, already on it!" Tommy turns around almost falling off the thing, but shouts back with a grin.
"How could I forget, you're just as bad as they are." Maggie rolls her eyes. Ellie laughs at her response, getting more excited for what's in store. Joel looks passed Tommy, using his hand to shade his eyes.
"Get your ass over here Williams, these boxes ain't gonna move themselves!"
"I'm coming, hold your horses old man!" Ellie shouts back. She shakes her head and diverts her attention back to the lady with places to be.
"Hurry up now, and be nice to the boys! God knows those two won't. See you later chickadee." Maggie pats her car door to send Ellie off, before giving her a wink.
Ellie drives off to park her truck by the pool and other cars shaded beneath the line of ponderosa pine. It's still pretty early, but the sun's hot beams are brutal right now. Stepping out of the truck, she takes off her green flannel and tosses it onto her tattered passenger seat. Seconds after the slam of her truck door, she is greeted by a warm breeze and another friendly face.
"Ellie! You're here!" She turns around to see Dina peering over the wooden pool fence to say hello. Ellie instantly walks to the gate door to meet Dina for a sweaty hug.
"It's good to see ya D!" Ellie laughs squeezing her tight and taking in the smell of her freshly applied sunscreen. She pulls back, and Dina comments like everyone else she’s seen.
"You're like an hour late." Ellie scoffs.
"I know! Don't blame me, blame Florence." Ellie groans pointing to her overheated white 1999 Ford Ranger. Dina rolls her eyes in response, but gets a burst of excitement. She almost forgot what made her so giddy in the first place. She grabs Ellie's shoulders with force and locks eyes. There’s a shift in the air between them with a sense of seriousness. Ellie doesn't know what to think, but stands confused and leaning back slightly. "What is it Dina..."
"Ellie, we got new swim staff."
"I know, I met them at the last meeting?"
"No Ellie, you didn't meet this one." Ellie quirks a brow looking at Dina with a puzzled eye.
"Dina what are you talking about–"
"Ellie she's cute, and gay." Dina emphasizes, cutting her off to nod her chin to hint what's behind her– or more importantly who.
"Again, what are you talking about?" Dina turns around and pulls Ellie to her side to reveal the sight by the other end of the pool.
As a few other new staff members begin to move away from the shed, behold there you are barely out of reach of the pool structures shade, glistening in the sun. Your skin tanned and kissed by freckles, and exposed in your yellow bikini top and denim shorts. Your hair tied up in messy ponytail, loose pieces stick to your back from sunscreen and sweat.
"oh, that's what you're talking about..." Ellie's eyes widen. Dina looks at Ellie and giggles like a school girl.
It's funny, while Ellie gawks at you, you look quite silly bent over struggling to blow up pool floaties alongside Jesse. She can hear you arguing with him over how many blow up balls versus rings you need.
Dina knows what she's doing, and already feels the need to play matchmaker.
Grabbing Ellies hand and giving her a devilish grin, she begins to pull her along the edge of the pool towards the two of you. "Jesse look whose here!" Dina announces giggling.
Ellie's heart quickens, her nerves sinking in. The thing is, she hasn't talked to a pretty gay girl in, let's be honest, a while. And on top of that, she's also an over thinker. So she has indeed already exhausted every encounter or issue that could errupt after talking to you.
"What are you doing?!" Ellie whisper panics trying to pull away without looking too suspicious, Dina just snickers in response as they both now stand in front of the two pool staff attempting to blow up a giant turtle floaty.
You hardly notice the two girls that come up, you are too caught up in your mission to find the other air pump in the ridiculous wooden chest of a mess overflowing with pool toys and goggles.
Jesse looks up before his face falls into a big smile. "Aye you finally made it!" He beams while standing up. Ellie tries to focus on giving him a hug, but all she can think about is who this mysterious girl in a small yellow bikini is.
Your back was to the three of them before you turn around. You briefly scan the over the two girls before locking eyes with the one you've never seen before. You first notice her tank top, Patagonia baggies and dirty blue vans. Her shoulder length auburn hair was tied half up half down, but a few pieces escaped framing her face. Freckles sprayed across her nose and cheeks, and her green eyes never left yours.
Everything about her screamed gay, and hot.
Dina and Jesse watch as the two of you stare blankly at one another, unsure what to say– Ellie is afraid to take a breath from the looks of it, her cheeks are showing the slightest shade of pink.
"Y/N this is Ellie! We grew up going to camp together with Jesse, and now she's been working in outdoors for about 5 years now!" Dina grins after her introduction, nudging Ellie's arm with her elbow to say hello.
But all she could think was holy shit, cute girl cute girl cute girl...
"Uh, hi yeah I'm Ellie, nice to meet you." She sticks her hand out, showing off her right forearm; covered in the most gorgeous tattoo you've ever seen.
"Hi Ellie, i'm Y/N." You smile, shaking her hand– it's a little sweaty which you blame on the heat, but she blames on you. Your eyes flicker back to her arm. "I really like your tattoo! It's really pretty." You beam as you let her hand go.
You're really pretty. She makes a note to herself to never wear a long sleeve around you ever.
"Oh thanks, I got it a few years ago." She replies, unsure of what to add. God why do pretty girls make my brain go dumb?
Just as Dina was about to intervene, Tommy calls for Ellie over the fence. "Ellie, Joel needs your help planning the first 3 day hikes, Mia can't go!" He shouts before walking back towards the outdoors tent.
She turns her head back and shouts that she's coming before turning back to look at you, a small smile forms on her lips. "I gotta go before Joel kills me, but uh– it was nice meeting you."
You offer a smile and a "you too" in return as she heads back towards the pool gate. She looks back one last time and you give a little wave.
Of course this small interaction made her chest flutter, and knees weak. She fought every fibre in her body to not look back at you. As she walked towards the group of boys all she could think to herself was: I'm in trouble for sure.

Please, more Majima content 😭 I want some age gap headcanons where the reader is 22 and he's 42, making people around them question why the young lady is with a man twice her age. Maybe they're walking together in public and Majima overhears some judgemental and nasty comments made about him and the reader comforts him through it because he gets uncomfortable and self-conscious 🥺
Ahhhh I love this, as someone in a similar age range in comparison to Majima and him being my absolute favorite, this idea makes my brain go brrrrr in the best way. Thank you sweet anon, headcanon is under the cut, hope you like it! It's a long one so I apologize in advance but I had so much fun making it hehe.
Majima will honestly never understand why you picked him. He'll always be asking himself how he got so lucky. At the same time he'll also wonder if he really deserves it. He will try not to let it bother him but it's always something in the back of his mind.
The most common comments are things like "Isn't he a little too old for her?" or "What's she doing with a man like that?". You get some weird glances from strangers. This makes Majima tighten his grip around your hand or around your waist, an obvious tell that he's trying not to let it get to him.
He will try to not engage in physical violence as a response because he knows that's not the solution and he doesn't want you to see him as just some violent beast. Instead, he'll spit out some retort before grabbing your hand and briskly walking away, clearly still upset.
He will try to not bring it up to you whenever he feels this way. Majima already feels that he's a bit of a burden in more ways than one: his age, his job, even the fact that he's missing an eye feels burdensome in his mind. How could someone ever love a man like this? Secretly, he worries that all these factors will drive you away one day so he doesn't want to add fuel to that fire by bringing you down with how he feels about the age gap.
Eventually, his feelings will boil over. You'll find him looking dejected, probably smoking out the window, unable to sleep. If you ask what's going on, he'll immediately know that you know and that's when he'll break.
Majima won't necessarily cry, but he'll sigh deeply and say something like "I just want ya to be happy. Sometimes I wonder if I can give ya the happiness ya deserve. Maybe I'm just bein' selfish... keeping ya all to myself." He'll turn to hide his face in embarrassment, ashamed of how he feels.
Once he feels your arms wrap around him, holding him tight with your face pressed against his back, his heart will just melt. It's true, he does think he's being selfish. Sometimes he wonders if everyone else is right and if you'd be better off with someone younger, someone your age. But damn if it didn't feel good to have you right there next to him. In that exact moment, his worries just wash away. He feels like he can do anything, be anyone. That's just the effect you have on him. Your presence alone makes him feel like a man reborn.
He'll close his eyes and exhale before putting out his cigarette and turning around to face you. Regardless of how you choose to console him, he'll still ask if you're sure this is what you want. Secretly, Majima yearns the most to be wanted and loved. Once reassured he'll just pull you in and hold you tightly, so close to him that it's almost suffocating.
The truth is Majima can't stand the thought of letting you go. The Mad Dog has been so independent by necessity for so long that he's terrified of letting that guard down, letting anyone in, needing anyone at all. You changed that and it feels so good that he's scared to lose it, scared to lose you. Your tender reassurance calms him, it puts the Mad Dog to sleep, and for once, Majima feels like he can breathe deeply and fully.
All those years ago, Majima swore he'd live his life for him, do things his way. When you came into his life, it was the first time since Makoto that he felt he really had something to lose. That's when the thoughts of other people started to get to him. Truthfully, you love his fearlessness the most. You admire his boldness, his loyalty, how he never stands down, the way he tries everything once and does anything for those he loves. You'll remind him of this, reminding him that it doesn't matter what anyone thinks. Age gap or no age gap, you're his and he's yours.

Ok I am starting chapter 7 of the Sign book which again has some more hints towards the past and the beginning of their first case.
We pick up at the temple where Tharn is trying to overhear what the monk is telling Phaya. The monk then calls Tharn in. He warms him to stay mindful and not be self indulgent when he returns to work. The monk gives both Phaya and Tharn a yellow money pouch. He then tells them only mindfulness and wisdom will free them from the karmic tapestry. And to keep doing good deeds to earn merit. The good deeds will be a defense and everything will fall into place at the end.
They leave and the monk is visited by a tall and grand figure. He's described as having a complexion the color of harvested hay and adorned in gold ornaments with red blooded gemstones. He tells the monk to not interfere with matters that aren't his. The monk replies he did it out of a sense of duty bound necessity. The figure is upset because without the monks interference he(Tharn I assume) would have returned to the man. He had been close to his goal until the monk made it unfeasible.
The monk says it's what fate decreed and the man should no longer defy it. The man mocks the idea of fate since he(Tharn?) has been fated to suffer for centuries despite his exceeding benevolent acts. That he shouldn't have even been reborn into this life. The monk asks if the man wants to continue to stymie fate. The man threatens to kill the monk because he's losing patience, thinks how easy it would be to do and then disappears.
We get back to Phaya and Tharn. Phaya is not paying attention and is lost in thought as Tharn drives them back and is upset that Phaya won't share what's on his mind. They have lunch and joke about Tharn getting drunk. As they are eating an old woman walks up and offers to read their fortune. Phaya wants to refuse but Tharn feels pity for her and asks her to sit.
She tells Tharn he has a sixth sense of clairvoyance and that his life line is short. He should've died long ago and that someone passed their longevity onto him, either his mom or his dad. Tharn pulls his hand back and says he doesn't want to know more. Phaya notices that Tharn is upset and is about to ask if he's ok when Tharn says he's thirsty and leaves to get a drink.
The woman tries to continue the fortune but Tharn rushes off. The old lady turns to Phaya and tells him to not let go of Tharn's hand. Just then his phone rings and the old woman disappears. It's Yai telling them to rush back because they have an important case(murder of a racist). Tharn returns with coffees for the both of them and they head back to Bangkok.
Phaya drives like a maniac and I would never get into a car with him again after this. He's weaving in and out of traffic and trying to run lights. Tharn is freaking out and Phaya drives crazier and crazier to annoy him. Nah not cool at all. Phaya eventually stops and Tharn tells him their lives are worth more than whatever game he's playing. Phaya apologizes and promises to drive better.
Thongthai messaged them details of the case. Same basics as the show. Three rapists tortured and then murdered. The murderer turned themselves in.
They finally get to the office and are greeted by their captain...who is a woman?!?!?! We could've had their boss as a kickass woman? Anyways Singh is interviewing the murderer and she tells them she was forced to murder the victim. And that's it for this chapter!

The Car [a Jay & Frankie fic]
Read on Ao3
Fandom: Triple Frontier
Ship: Frankie Morales x Jay ‘Lady’ Ray (OFC) **Series masterlist**
Warnings: Fighting, real talk, period mention, make up sex, nipple play, nipple orgasm, piv sex, cum on tits, cum eating, typical jay and frankie banter, pet names daddy and mommy.
Words: 3,282
Summary: Jay and Frankie have an argument about the car, and discover something new and exciting during the make up sex.
Tumblr media
Alma is happily drooling in the baby carrier while Jay looks for the car keys. It’s not a common occurrence in the Ray-Morales household to have lost one’s keys – both she and Frankie are tidy people – but it’s not her own keys she’s looking for.
"You're coming by Tom's later?" Frankie appears in the entry, leaning over Alma's carrier to cuddle the baby. Jay hums non-committally as she stands with her hands on her hips, trying to figure out where Frankie would keep the keys to his truck, if not in the bowl on the side table by the door.
"Come by anytime," Frankie tells her, smiling at his daughter. "No reason to give granny any more time than absolutely necessary, right, Almalita? A quick lunch with granny, then return to base before the old bat does any damage."
"That's not fair," Jay remarks acidly. Her mother has really turned a new leaf, is treating Jay with respect, and is a wonderful grandmother to Alma. Frankie, however, doesn't forget a wrong done to his loved ones.
"Just saying," he shrugs, holding Alma's little feet and kicking them back and forth, much to the baby's delight.
"Yeah, well, it's getting really old, this ragging on my mom. She's helping out, respecting our boundaries, and hasn't said a single word of disencouragement since we reconnected," Jay reprimands him. "And I'd appreciate it if you didn't teach our kid to hate her grandmother."
"Okay, sorry," Frankie apologizes sincerely. He may not like Dorothy, but he doesn't want to stand in his child's way of having a relationship with her grandmother. "I was out of line."
"Thank you." Jay opens the drawer of the side table again, more thoughtfully now than in an actual search for the keys.
"You lost something?"
"Alma's chew toy."
"She's holding it?"
Jay looks over at the baby. "Oh, right." She looks at Frankie, sees his questioning frown, then realizes that there's a small bulge in one of his back pockets that makes one flat ass cheek stand out. He's got the keys. New tactic. She walks up to Frankie, smiling.
"What would I do without you?" Hands on his waist, Jay leans in for a sweet kiss, one that Frankie happily accepts.
"You'd be fine, and you know it," he grins, before stealing another kiss. Jay lets her hands slide down to his ass, copping a playful feel with one hand as the other sneaks into the back pocket. Just as she's about to grab the keys, Frankie takes a step back.
"Gotcha!"
"What?" Jay's not good at playing innocent, but she does try.
"You were trying to get my keys! You want to borrow my car!" Frankie accuses her, amused. "You know, you can just ask me."
"Fine," Jay rolls her eyes. "Can I borrow your truck?"
"What's wrong with the Rogue?"
"You know what's wrong with it!"
"The only thing that's wrong with that car is your attitude towards it," Frankie sighs, seeing very clearly where this is going. "I need my truck today, I'm picking up boards for Tom's patio."
"I don't understand why he doesn't do that himself," Jay mutters as she starts to gather up her things to leave. Her tits feel tight; she’s due for her period, and it’s making her feel shitty.
"Because his truck is a piece of shit, and it's in the shop."
"The Rogue is a piece of shit and I won't drive it."
"Jay, for fuck's sake." Frankie crosses one arm over his chest and rubs his forehead with the other hand. "We agreed that we needed a new car because the Bronco had no backseat, and it wasn't safe for a baby. We made the decision together - "
" - you made it, I had no choice - " Jay interjects sourly, glaring at him.
"We made the decision together, and you had every opportunity to suggest a car that wasn't a Nissan Rogue, but every car you named cost at least thirty grand, and you know we can't afford that!"
"We could've just kept my car!"
"Jesus fucking Christ, Jayne, I'm not having this fight with you again," Frankie sighs, throwing up his hands. It's not the first time Jay's being bitchy about having to give up her beloved Bronco, and the car was sold months ago. The Nissan Rogue may not be sexy or particularly adjusted to off-road driving, but there is absolutely no need for a car like that. What they needed was a good family car, and the Rogue, albeit unsexy, was exactly that. To say that Jay's having a hard time adjusting to the change is an understatement: she borrows Frankie's pickup as much as she can, and he doesn't mind, but today he needs the truck himself.
"That's easy for you to say, you get to drive a real car, not some plastic pussy abomination!" Jay raises her voice and Alma, who up until now has been happy in her carrier, wrinkles her little face into a worried grimace. Frankie's with her in a heartbeat, smiling down at her and stroking one finger over her cheek.
"It's okay, Almalita, you're okay."
"I have to get going," Jay tells him curtly, taking her jacket and putting on her shoes. Wordlessly, Frankie hands the carrier over to her, and Jay leaves, slamming the door poignantly.

It's past Alma's bedtime when Frankie comes back from Tom's, tired but satisfied after a day of working with his hands. He finds Jay on the couch watching TV, but she does turn it off when he comes in and sits down next to her.
"Hi," he says quietly. Jay meets his gaze head first. God, he loves her fearlessness.
"Hi yourself."
"Did you have a good day?"
"Yeah. You?"
"It was okay. We got a lot done."
"Good."
"You didn't come by, and you didn't reply to my text."
Now Jay's gaze falters, and she raises her chin a little. "I read it."
"So my phone told me."
"I didn't want to come and sit there with Molly and the kids like some sort of wife," she finally snaps, but without any real vehemance. In fact, she sounds more despairing than anything else. Frankie sighs deeply.
"Jay..."
"I know, I know," Jay interrupts him. "I'm being stupid and hormonal and need to calm my tits, right?"
"That's not what I was going to say, and you know that."
Now she's glancing at him again. "I know."
"What's up, amor? Talk to me."
Those three magic words that they once agreed should be the foundation of their relationship. Jay can't ignore them, but she's struggling to put her annoyance into words.
"I do think it's hormones," she finally presses, loath to admit it. "I'm due for my period, and I'm... hormonal."
It's almost funny how she says the word like she's admitting to something a lot more embarrassing, but Frankie finds it hard to laugh. He knows how much Jay hates being stereotyped because of her sex, how hard she fights it.
"Okay," he acknowledges, "are you in any pain? Is there something we can do to fix it?"
"Tits are still sore," she throws him a small grin, and he grins back. While enjoying a quickie in the morning, Frankie had been strictly forbidden to touch them.
"It's going to be over soon."
"But it's not just that. I can deal with this."
Frankie waits for her to continue. Jay sighs deeply and leans back on the couch, pulling her legs up and sliding a hand over Frankie's back. Her need to be physical is endearing. Even when she's mad or sad or whatever, she wants to stay connected to him.
"I was afraid that having a baby would change things," she finally says, slowly as if she's looking for every word. "Change how people see me. How they treat me."
Frankie knows this. He had a front row seat during the entire pregnancy, saw how people reacted differently to her in public when she started to show. Before, he could walk around town with her like the couple of nobodies that they are. As soon as Jay was visibly pregnant, people started to notice her, smile at her, make way for her, ask her in the supermarket checkout line when she was due. She fucking hated it, and Frankie was witness to her snapping at people more than once. He himself felt neglected in the baby supply stores, where the salesperson always seemed to think that the mother was the only one who read up on car seats and birthing processes. It became very clear which parent society seemed to think was the more important one.
"I know, but we've talked about this," he tells her gently. "People are assholes, and we'll just do our thing."
"It's not just strangers anymore, Frankie," Jay points out quietly. "It's our friends, too."
"Who? And when?" Now he's staring at her, perplexed at her revelation. He hasn't noticed anything unusual but then again, he's aware of being blind to some things.
"It's not anyone in particular or anything specific," she shrugs. "But something's definitely happened. Mom talks to me differently now that I'm in the club of child-bearing women."
"Yeah, but your mom's - "
"Yes, thank you," she interrupts him sharply, and Frankie’s wise enough to shut up.
"The guys are different, too. I can't put my finger on it, but they are. It's like they expect me to whip out my tits at any given moment, and start spraying milk around."
"That image is disturbing," Frankie chuckles, shaking his head. "Jay... I can't say I've noticed anything. But if you say that things have changed, I believe you. Am I doing something wrong?"
She looks at him, puzzled, like she never even thought about it.
"I don't think so?"
"I need you to tell me if I am."
"I would." Now she smiles wryly. "You know I would."
"You wouldn't tell me, you'd yell it into my face," Frankie agrees with a snigger. Jay slaps his hand lightly before caressing it.
"I don't know what's up with me," she sighs. "I just... miss that fucking Bronco."
"Maybe the Bronco represents childfree life, the kind of life we had before Alma," Frankie suggests, not really knowing what he's after. "Maybe you're coming to realize that life has changed completely now that we have a kid."
"It sounds like you think I regret having kids," Jay accuses him, but he can hear that she's contemplating his words. He shakes his head immediately.
"I don't think for one second that you regret us having a child! But life is different now."
"Yeah," she nods, "I'm driving a goddamn Nissan Rogue instead of a proper car."
"If that's what your head is telling you to focus on, maybe it's an outlet," Frankie shrugs, "But I'm getting a little tired of hearing about that Bronco."
"How dare you..." Jay starts, but with a smile tugging at her lips. The rest of her warning disappears into the kiss Frankie gives her. He grins smugly at her before cupping her cheek and dragging his large thumb over her lips.
"You know that you can use my truck whenever you want to, Jay, but I really needed it today."
"I know," she mutters. "I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry too. And I get it. So much has happened in the last two years. Now we're about to move and all, you still have school... It's a lot. But can we please stop talking about that fucking car?"
"No promises," she quips, and Frankie gives her a soft shove.
"Come on."
"No. I'm gonna sulk about that car for the rest of my life."
"Mula."
"Pendejo."
Frankie leans in to nuzzle her neck. "You know what it does to me when you speak Spanish..."
"It's not supposed to."
Frankie only hums as he continues to scatter little kisses along Jay's skin. She relaxes a little, sighing softly and giving in to his gentle ministrations.
"Can we have angry makeup sex?" Frankie murmurs, his hand finding her thigh and following its curve to her ass cheek. "You're so hot when you're angry."
"You take that back," Jay growls, finding the back of his head and pulling at his hair.
"See, that's exactly what I mean..." Her tight hold of his hair makes him even more turned on, and now he covers her mouth with his, plunges his tongue into her, kisses her breathless. Jay allows it, enjoys it, but when he moves some of his weight on top of her, she pushes back.
"My tits are too sore.”
“I’ll be careful.”
“I’m not sure you can handle it,” Jay scoffs.
“Oh no…?”
He’s always up for the challenge. Carefully, he takes Jay’s t-shirt off, then pops her bra open and releases her tits.
“Hello, girls,” he tells them fondly, catching Jay’s eyeroll. “Careful, or your eyes’ll stay like that.”
“Aren’t they already from living with you?”
“You have such a mouth on you today,” he tuts as he settles comfortably on breast height. A feathery touch of his fingers on the outside of one breast makes Jay sigh.
“That’s nice…”
“Is it now?” Frankie looks up at her with a smile that somehow manages to be both tender and teasing at the same time. Jay smiles back, subdued by Frankie’s light touch and the natural way he adjusts to her needs to make her feel good. He starts to circle her nipple with one finger before very lightly pinching it. Pleasure zaps through Jay, drawing a first moan from her lips.
“Not too rough?” Frankie checks in, and Jay shakes her head.
“Just perfect.”
He does it again, and lowers his mouth to her other breast. His tongue starts to circle the nipple, occasionally passing over it, all the while his fingers keep softly teasing the other. Jay’s eyes fall shut as the pleasure rises unexpectedly. Her tits always were erogenous but with the added sensitivity of her forthcoming period, the sensations are on a completely new level.
“God, Frankie,” she moans when he scrapes his mustache over her rock hard nipple before taking it into his mouth to tenderly suckle it. The tight soreness of her tits right before her period started after Alma was weaned – thank you merciful God it didn’t while Jay was still breast-feeding – and now Frankie skillfully keeps her teetering on the line between pleasure and pain. It’s not the first time sex with Frankie does that, almost makes her hurt, but it’s definitely the first time her breasts are in focus of the titillation.
He takes his time, Jay has no idea how much of it, and doesn’t care to know. There is nothing to know except the way he’s making her tits feel, the way he’s teasing her, torturing her, making her wet, yearning, writhing.
The thought passes through her head but gains no hold as everything is liquid, flowing sensation. Frankie goes on with the same kind of purpose he shows when eating pussy, and Jay’s not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. God knows not all women have partners who like the saggy, post-nursing tits. Frankie not only likes hers: he’s even crazier about them than ever before.
The sensation rises slowly but steadily until it explodes without warning, so suddenly that it takes even Jay by surprise. Shouting out, her body trembling, she anchors herself to Frankie by digging her fingers into his shoulders. He goes on lapping, caressing, gently squeezing, until she comes down, gasping for breath, huge blue eyes trying to focus on his face. Only then does he stop, and come up for a soft kiss.
“Fuck, baby, that was so fucking hot,” he tells her, shifting on top of her to avoid her now throbbing boobs. Jay doesn’t let go of him, her eyes still glassy as she searches his face.
“You knew I could do that?” she whispers hoarsely, amazed and puzzled at the same time, her brain still slow after the unexpected orgasm. Frankie smiles bashfully.
“I figured when you started to move like you do when I eat your pussy.”
She has nothing to say to that, only draws a deep, trembling breath. Frankie kisses her forehead.
“What was it like?”
“Um…” Fumbling for words, Jay wets her lips. “Like… an orgasm? But like, for the entire body, or… maybe more centered along the spine?”
“Was it stronger?”
“In a way, but… Frankie, I don’t know.” She looks almost shy, something of a giggle escaping her. Jay is neither shy nor giggly. It’s fucking adorable. Frankie dips to kiss her again, his chest pressing up against hers. Jay whimpers immediately, and he backs off, sitting up astride her.
“Sore?”
“So fucking sensitive,” she acknowledges, hands following the curves of her tits carefully. “Jesus, Frankie…”
“You think you can do it again?”
“Christ, no! I’d fucking die!”
“Not tonight, amor, I don’t have another 45 minutes in me.”
“45 minutes?” She gapes at him. Frankie gestures with his left hand, bringing attention to his wrist watch.
“I happened to check the time right before I started, and I just checked again. 45 minutes.” He looks proud of himself, and Jay has to grin.
“Daddy does have the stamina…”
“Daddy has a raging boner that he needs to stick into mommy right now, or his balls will explode,” Frankie tells her unceremoniously, the image of Jay cupping her tits underneath him making him very aware of his own needs.
“If mommy doesn’t mind?” he adds chivalrously, making Jay laugh as she reaches for the waistband of his pants.
“Mommy has a nice warm place for daddy to put it in…”
He doesn’t need long, and most of his energy is directed at Jay’s tits, making sure they don’t jiggle so much that they cause her discomfort. She keeps them in check with her hands, head thrown back as he fucks her steadily, sitting up with her thighs draped over his, holding her by the hips as he chases his imminent release. As his balls start to tighten, he has to resist the urge to go faster, instead finding his tongue to speak.
“Jay, can I cum on your tits?”
Her head snaps up for a breathless Yes! and moments later, Frankie pulls out, grabs his dick and pumps it a few times, groaning as he paints her boobs with thick ropes of cum. He stares at the mess, at her soft flesh, the stiff nipples, the rosy hue of the skin, the white jelly of his seed. Embarrassment pokes its unwanted head up to remind him how cheap and pornographic this is, but he sits back on his heels and shakes away the feeling, basking instead in the glorious view before him. Goddammit, he loves her so much. She’s perfect in every way.
He leans down over her and very gently licks her tits clean, enjoying her small whimpers and the way her skin tastes when salted with his spend. He then comes up to kiss her, ravish her mouth with his one more time before he, too, needs to catch his breath. Jay’s eyes flutter open and she smiles at him; a warm, loving smile that makes him just melt inside.
“I’m still real mad about the car,” she whispers, and Frankie starts to laugh, just as the baby monitor crackles and Alma’s blubbering comes through.
“I’ll go,” Frankie offers, getting up from the couch and reaching for his pants on the floor. As he leaves the living-room, he glances back and sees Jay stretch delightfully, a satisfied smile on her face.
God, he’d do anything for her.

"I think I like you the best."
Vinney fic!!!
One night,Vance and Finney were getting ready to meet Mr.Blake.Apparently Terrence(Finney's father) quit drinking and wants to see his kids again.Of course,Finney was quite nervous,he didn't really expect to be invited to dinner by his father,by a man who couldn't even make a sandwich.
While getting ready, Finn's putting Vance's hair in a low ponytail.
"ow."
Vance makes a noise, trying to make Finn know he pulled his hair.
"sorry-.."
Finney apologized giggling.
"since when were your hands so fuckin' rough?"
Vance asks.
Finney remains silent.
Vance thought he said something that offended Finney and felt guilty.
"hey,you know i didn't mean-"
"do you think I'll make a good impression?"
Finn asks.
"what?"
"am i gonna make a good impression?"
Finney repeated,clearly worried.
"babe..you don't have to make an impression. He's your father, and I'm sure he loves you and Gwen so much ...But if he says something shitty I'm throwing hands with that old bag."
Vance encouraged Finn.
"thanks..I really hope Gwen's not gonna start crying, she's very sensitive when it comes to our dad."
Finney says,being very worried.
"I'll make sure that doesn't happen."
Vance says.
"also, kinda switching the topic...what exactly are you doing with my hair?"
"oh,I'm putting it in a lower ponytail"
Finney replied to Vance's question.
"I love you."
Vance blurts out.
Finney sighs.
"I love you too,dummy."
Finney returned.
They both get ready and then head out the door.
Finney notices Vance holding Gwen's hand as they're crossing the street to get to their van.
"is it okay if I ask why are you holding my hand?"
Gwen asks.
"i don't know,force of habit."
"i like it,can you hold my hand when we get in?"
Gwen asks.
"of course kid."
Vance replied,happily.
Finn smiled.
They start driving.
"I'm so nervous..Gwen you good back there?"
Finney asks.
"mhm!"
Gwen replied.
During the drive,Finn's left leg started bouncing, out of nowhere.
Vance places his hand on his thigh.
"it's okay darling,stay calm"
Vance said.
Finney turned red.
He was blushing like crazy.
"ew get a room"
Gwen said.
"maybe you'll understand when you're older"
Vance says,smiling.
"nah,I won't.I will be that lonely cat lady who lives in a cottage."
Gwen replied.
"hm..thoughtful."
Vance said,laughing.
They all laughed.
As soon as they got there,Finn wanted to throw up.Just even thinking about going back to that house..ugh.
They ring the doorbell.
The were greeted by Terrence Blake,Gwen and Finney's dad.
"oh..it's so great to see you two .."
Terrence says as he tries to hug Gwen, but she runs behind Vance.
"yep..sorry.Personal space."
Everyone was quiet the whole dinner.
"I'm sorry."
Terrence blurts out.
Finney was shocked,he didn't expect his father to say the "s" word.
"you're what?"
Gwen asks.
"I-Im sorry, for what I did to you and finney.Ever since your mother-"
"can you please stop talking about her?In every conversation, you find a way to bring her up and make it look like it's mine or Finn's fault. And I'm sorry I'm not like her,and I'm sorry Finney's not like her,but you have to understand that a sorry and that excuse won't excuse years you abused me and Finney."
Gwen says,angrily.
Vance was feeling horrible, but didn't say anything.
Finn was shocked she stood up to dad like that.
"I-I tried"
"no you didn't.You didn't even try to be a part of our lives unless it was abuse."
Gwen stated.
"I know ..Im really sorry. And i feel horrible for what happened, but i didn't do anything wrong,i was trying my best to be a good parent."
Terrence says,trying to defend himself.
"how???By physically and emotionally abandoning and abusing your kids?.."
Gwen says.
"I didn't abuse you-"
Terrence tries getting a few words out,but Vance stood up.
"You didn't abuse them?!Then why did I walk into your home seeing you hitting your fucking son you sick bastard?!"
Vance yells,as Finney's trying to hold him.
"I've been a good parent from what you could've got!"
"Vance was more of a dad to me then you ever were!"
Gwen yells angrily.
"he taught me physics,math,biology,chemistry..He also taught me how to make food for myself, the tasks you weren't bothered to talk to me about."
Gwen stated.
"this was a waste of time."
Gwen says, irritated.
Terrence sat there,a little tears in his eyes.
"Fuck you.Fuck you and fuck your bullshit!"
Gwen storms out.
"Gwen!"
Finn yells and tries going after her.
"Let her,she needs some time."
Vance says to Finn as he pats his shoulder.
"I think...we should be going now."
Finn said.
"When will i see you two again?"
Terrence asks.
"...goodbye,father."
Finney says and him and Vance walk out, leaving Terrence alone again.
Gwen was in the van,upset.
"hey kid.."
Vance says.
"i fucked up.."
She says.
"it's not your fault Gwen..he's just..being a dick."
Finn says.
"how about we go home and make cookies?"
Vance asks.
"will that make you feel a bit better?"
Gwen nods her head and smiles.
"thanks dad-I MEAN"
Vance smiles at Gwen.
"no problem kiddo."
Finn's heart was melting.
He really did choose the right person for every situation.

Wow, just... wow.
I still can't believe the crazy bitch is so stubborn she would literally rather suffer this infinitely than say she fucked up, face herself, and apologize. I know she turned into an ugly monster, but when they can't look at themselves under ANY cost, you KNOW that's an abominable bitch.
Like. I repeat, This Would Not Have Worked if she was honest, and furthermore, she will never be able to try to wiggle negotiate off. I didn't stutter, bitch. ALL the way off, this lifetime. If you can't motherfucking figure out where you end and I begin because you've been on my dick too hard for two decades without listening, that is literally a motherfucking personal problem.
Just... oh well. I've found my local friends in the one. Those, like me, who put in works, and work, and found themselves and their center, and placed their anchors across space and time and minds. And heard me call. Come horus, my sun disk operator, and may I love thee lady Nuit, yes?
There's an innate peace that comes with this kind of operation, especially once the major shattering and amplification effects are handled and processed. From here it's mostly increase stability, if with occasional confusion.
I know it sounds like spoopy new agey bullshit, but listen, if you know anything about me, I absolutely lose my cracker about fluffy new agey shit. But there really is a game lobby, heaven really is all of us working together, and I should have never, ever, ever let this delusional lying she-bear chase me into hiding from my own nirvana.
I wasn't kidding when I said, I was raising the collective this year, I was reverse bear trapping her, everyone would be primed for it, to rip it out on an ancestral level; and now they are, and it's happening, and you're watching it happen right before your eyes as we multiply. I regret to inform you, you are watching What Actually Defines God remove a she bear Lilith slowly from the planet, one genetically crazy bitch with zero fucking interest in self improvement at a time.
There are many brothers and sisters in this game lobby. And every single one are done with her on an archetypical cosmic level.
I said what I said. I'm doing this. For everyone.
This is a modern smiting. Can't uwu your way out of this one, bitch. No hiding, no waiting it out, no driving backwards, no negotiations, no puppy eyes, no manager to call because you realized I am the goddamn manager, and you've been thinking about blacked out screens for being a dick to the manager a LOT.
I'd say see you in hell, but I made sure she won't ever get that far if she can't define one true thing of self without vampirizing from me.
Here's a protip. Only retarded teenagers fall for the pantheon of shadows she's made for herself. But she needs those. Because if she doesn't have imaginary shadows that tell her what she wants to hear without her having to onboard responsibility, then like, she's liable for her own goddamn decisions. So she would rather play in corrupted forms, demons, and takes on Leviathan or Medusa or some shit that get shared by SixteenAndDying Dot Tumblr Dot Com.
youtube
The monster that consumed my wife, and its many generational forms, will end. She can decide if she identifies with that, or her actual old self more. Clock's ticking.
This time, the bitch with the snake scarf picked a fight with the One who would draw her Ultimate Boundary.
What has the spark of humanity left in her vat of shadows terrified is she knows what it means, and it's that I'm the motherfucker still doing this for her, and her life is full of vultures, other half included, and she has been led to hell by her own laziness enabled by her like. And she is being left behind.
And despite my memetic methods.
It's not actually a game.
You can get left behind. I don't know when she forgot that.
Mik busted out his shotgun a while ago after breaking some jaws. Then when that message was missed, the sun and stars sent it for him on a Reload call. Read between the lines sweetie.

To Remember
Previous part: To Realize
Tumblr media
Main Masterlist
Pairings: Natasha Romanoff x Fem!Stark!Reader
Summary: Natasha's been connecting all the dots about how she feels about you, it's up to her to how she'll handle the situation.
Warnings: none, let me know if there's any.
You wake up alert and on your guard when you feel someone touching you, and manage to calm your nerves as soon as seeing the redhead and pair of green eyes looking at you. "God, I thought you were dead," Natasha says before sighing.
"Well, obviously, I am pretty much alive." You retort, yet the worry and concern didn't leave Natasha, and you notice the two of you shivering due to the temperature. Taking both her hands, you blow air on her skin attempting to make her feel better. "I think we should change our clothes, we're soaking wet." You comment, and she agrees.
"When you said it wasn't after us, what is that psycho after then?" You ask her as you stand up from where you were laying down, attempting to dust off the dirt that's already clinging to your clothes. "It's after this." She told before taking something inside the pocket of her hoodie, revealing a bunch of vials with something red.
"What is it?" You ask once more, Natasha shrugged and now showing you a photo of her probably around 10 or 11, she has blue-dyed hair and there's someone younger than her. You look at her and she seems taken aback, seeing her old photos.
"She's my little sister…" Nat didn't say anything more, you don't want to force any information about her at this time, you offer your hand yet hesitated before holding on to it. "Are you alright? I'm sorry I couldn't help, I barely felt my body after the explosion." You confessed.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked you to come along to get some gas." She apologized, you look at her with furrowed brows. "It's alright, it's not every day you get an RPG launching towards you while driving a car." You tried to joke about the situation, and you managed to make her smile a little.
"But, I could have gotten you killed." You roll your eyes, quickly placing her hand on your chest for her to feel your heart beating. "Well, I'm alive, save that for another day." You say, then Natasha stayed silent.
"Let's just go, we're going to Budapest." She says as she takes her hand back to herself, not holding your hand anymore, kinda hurt when the two of you walk back in the forest and into the caravan, not mentioning a word about the kiss that happened earlier.
Changing clothes, and managed to get all the necessities in a bag, then the two of you left the place as if no one stayed there recently. There's nothing but complete silence between the two of you, she occasionally asks if you're okay then there's nothing more, not even small talk.
The two of you got off the train, the two of you didn't initiate a conversation during the whole trip, all she said was the two of you would be heading to the Budapest safe house. You tried to ask what she and Clint did here in the country. Her answer was short and simple. "I'm only removing my last defect on SHIELD," she said.
Now the two of you are outside the door, you have your handgun out while she tries to pick the lock, then a voice comes from inside. "I know you're out there." The female inside spoke. "I know you know I'm out here," Nat replied, then finally opened the door. "Whatever happens between me and Yelena, you don't do anything, alright?" She quickly says before heading inside.
The two of you have your guards up then Yelena speaks again. "Then why are you and your friend are skulking around like you're in a minefield?" Natasha chuckled sarcastically at the comment. "Because I don't know if I can trust you," Nat commented.
"Funny, I was going to say the same thing." Yelena finally revealed herself, a blonde female in her 20s, and she has a gun pointed at Natasha. The redhead looks at you signaling that it's time for you to back away, you place your gun back at your holster raising your hand where Yelena can see them.
"Didn't expect you'd bring a friend," Yelena says, her eyes never leaving Natasha's figure, then the two of them still have their guns pointed at one another. You decide it's best to leave the two alone, and you look around the flat, not touching anything and still careful while wandering around.
You started hearing dishes getting broken, somebody getting thrown on the ground, door, probably kitchen cabinet too. You trust Nat and decided to stick to your word that you won't do anything if something happens, maybe this is how they greet one another? You're not going to be surprised actually.
Then the noise died, you've decided to check both of them, and they were choking each other with a curtain, the place is absolutely trashed but none of them seems to be injured. Both of them turned red until Natasha called for a truce.
"You've grown up," Natasha says, Yelena stood up then looked at you as she replied to Nat. "No shit." Then the blonde heads into the kitchen and chugging vodka straight out of the bottle. "This is how you guys greet each other? Wouldn't say it's sweet, but you guys do your thing." You asked Nat.
Natasha shook her head. "Haven't seen her in like 20 years, trust issues, y'know?" You chuckle at her answer, then the two of you follow Yelena.
"You had to come to Budapest, huh?" Natasha says as she takes a drink in a shot glass, Yelena shot her a look before speaking. "I came here because I thought you wouldn't." Then her eyes trailed at the walls. "But since you're here, what bullet does that?" You and Nat look at the holes in the wall.
"Those are arrows." You answered Yelena, and she seemed to be content with it. "If you thought I wouldn't come here then why did you send me this?" Natasha says before placing the vials along with the picture on the table. "You brought it back here?" Yelena says with worry in her voice.
"Well, tell me what it is," Natasha commanded, then Yelena talks about it being a synthetic gas that has something to do with altering their mind. "In English, please?" Nat says with confusion on her face. "это противоядие от контроля над разумом (it's an antidote to mind control.)" Yelena spoke, causing you to chuckle.
Natasha looks at both of you before commenting. "Real mature." You furrow your brow with what Nat has said before defending yourself. "It was funny? Your sister has humor, Nat." You say now crossing both of your arms.
"Why don't you take it to your super scientist's friends, her dad?" Yelena asked while pointing at you. "We're actually on the run and we're federal fugitives as of the moment, sorry." You replied to Yelena, and you haven't noticed that Nat changed her shirt.
"Well, where's an Avenger when you need one?" Yelena spoke, and Nat glared at her sister, holding Natasha's arms when she walked towards Yelena. Stopping her from probably starting another fight, and she seems like she wouldn't so you let go of her.
"You could've gotten both of us killed." Natasha raised her voice, then you looked away trying to avoid the conversation. "What was I supposed to do? You're the only superhero person I know." Yelena spoke, and you felt bad for Yelena when Nat almost shouted at her sister.
"You know, I keep on checking the news about Captain America taking down the Red Room," Yelena says and Natasha looks at her surprised, you are confused since she and Clint already took down the Red Room, they always joke about Budapest. "What? Dreykov's dead, we almost blew up an entire building just to take him down." Nat spoke.
"Who's we?" Natasha rolled her eyes and answered. "Barton, we stayed here for 10 days before even leaving the country," Nat explained, yet Yelena isn't even convinced. "Then tell me exactly what happened, tell me the full details."
Natasha didn't speak as if she was holding something back, you were sitting down on a chair watching the tense scene between the two. "Did you check for Dreykov's body?" Yelena asked once again.
"There was no body left to check," Natasha answered, and Yelena scoffed as if Nat wasn't speaking the truth, then silence filled the room. Until the three of you heard footsteps outside, then Natasha pulled you to hide in safety.
Suddenly you and Nat heard the window crash and footsteps going in your direction. "You alright?" Nat asked, you just nodded trying to be silent, then Natasha's eyes went searching for Yelena.
Now she sees Yelena going across the room, turning some switch and causing a continuous explosion, then the three of you used the advantage of it and fleeing the building, you and Nat followed Yelena since she seems to be headed somewhere.
"Where are we supposed to go?" Natasha asked while the three of you were running for your lives. "East side of the building! Motorcycles!" Yelena answered, now the three of you managed to get on the roof. A lady is wearing a similar suit to what Nat would usually wear chasing all of you, seems like she's not hesitating to kill you all too.
Now there's nowhere to go other than jumping on the chimney and probably hoping for the best, you and Nat removed some piece of metal that connects the chimney to the roof, as soon as the both of you removed it. The three of you hopped on and held tight, suddenly the lady decided to join, yet she missed.
Natasha managed to hold the lady, trying to knife Nat's hands then she slipped from her grasp, causing the stranger to fall, the chimney now crashed on a building, you and Yelena fell and crashed in a window.
"Who are these people?" You ask Yelena, helping her to stand up, and two of you catch your breaths before heading to Natasha. "There are other Widows, trying to retrieve the vials and return it to Dreykov." You nodded with her explanation.
"Let's get to Natasha and free the widow chasing us," Yelena says, taking out one of the vials in her bag, then the two of you rushing down the stairs, and you wish that Natasha is safe, probably doesn't have a broken bone too.
"I believe you must be exposed to the gas then?" You ask her once again, Yelena looks at you. "Why do you think they're after me too?" She answered sarcastically. "Yeah, right… dumbass." You muttered to yourself, as soon as the two of you reached the ground floor.
The both of you kicked the door open, to see Natasha kneeling on the ground. "Do you believe me now?" Yelena asked, seeing the widow chasing the three of you lifeless on the ground, she slowly took back the vial in her bag. "How many are there?" Natasha asked, her back facing the both of you.
"Enough, let's go," Yelena says before heading to fetch her motorcycle, you don't usually feel this type of adrenaline in your body, considering the fact that your father would only allow you into in and out missions.
After lots of running and ducking to avoid getting shot by other widows, the three of you finally get to the motorcycle, of course, it's a two-person vehicle. "Which one is yours?" Natasha asked Yelena. "Black, brown seat." She quickly answered.
You heaved a sigh before taking the motorcycle next to it and hot-wiring it. "Looks like Stark isn't such a good girl, what do you think?" Yelena commented, before hopping on her motorcycle and letting Nat drive.
Once you've finally powered the vehicle, the three of you are being chased by an armored car. "Y/N! Follow us!" Nat shouted, of course, you're going to follow them. It's not like you'll survive having a psycho who copies your friends and being chased down by a trained assassin would do you any good.
Managing to lose the armored vehicle, there are other widows on the bike too, you're actually surprised of what they are capable of, it seems like Nat really must be one hell of an assassin.
Everything is going well until the three of you are welcomed by traffic, and suddenly a widow shoots the wheel of her motorcycle, while Natasha and Yelena crash into a car. You got out of your vehicle and followed the two, seeing Yelena pointing a gun at a man to make him get out of the car.
"You can't just steal a guy's car?" Natasha commented while Yelena got in the car first, then you're all panicking and shit, you followed Yelena inside and realized you sat down on her lap. "Well, Stark stole a bike earlier." She says while looking confused with you on her lap.
"I am panicking, it's my first time experiencing all this." You defended yourself, Natasha finally got inside and started to drive the car. "Y/N, are you alright?" Natasha asked, rolling your eyes by hearing that question for the nth time.
Suddenly you get dizzy, is it because you're probably panicking too much? Or the fact that all you've done the whole week was to run either from authorities or trained assassins. Your vision started to get all blurry, and you can't understand anything that Nat or Yelena was saying at the moment.
And you passed out due to the stress you've been feeling.

You felt a sudden pain in your left arm and that woke you up, quickly sitting down you notice you're in a cramped and small space, is this the morgue? Are you dead? You placed a hand on your chest and released a relieved sigh when you felt your heart beating.
"It's been a year, Stark, you passed out while we're on the run," Yelena spoke, a hand on your shoulder trying to comfort. "What? No, that can't be-"
"Yelena, stop." As soon as you hear Natasha's voice, you feel safe, and you didn't notice that you were laying your head on her lap when you collapsed. "What happened?" You ask the two.
"Psycho comes back and shoots another RPG, hence why you're injured and we're hiding in this air vent." Nat simply explained and ran your hands on your hair. "How long was I out?" Asking once again. "Less than 10 minutes," Yelena answered. "I'm sorry…" you softly spoke.
"It's alright, it's normal that you reacted the way you did." Natasha comforts you, then to your surprise she takes your hand and intertwines your fingers with her. "I'm glad that the two of you are safe." You say as you hold on tight to Nat's hand.
"It still doesn't make sense, I killed Dreykov, dropped an entire building on him," Natasha spoke, Yelena looked at her before scoffing. "Truth doesn't really make sense when you only omit key details, what happened to Dreykov's daughter?"
"She was collateral damage, I had to take her down too," Natasha admitted. You felt the guilt in her when she admitted, then you suddenly remember how she and Clint would joke about Budapest.
"Wait… you and Clint joke about exploding a child?" You look at Natasha who's looking at the floor. "Sometimes using humor to cope helps, Y/N," Nat says, then you remember how much your father joked about what happened in New York, you think it's quite… valid?
"This is quite cozy for some air vent." You say trying to change the topic of the conversation, you moved your ass to sit down next to Nat, your head subconsciously resting on her shoulder. "Clint and I stayed up here for 2 days." She says, fiddling with your fingers and resting her head on top of yours.
"I'll see if we're good to go." Yelena says before opening the entrance of the vent, then she went back in the subway, now you and Nat are alone. "Are you ok–" Natasha was about to ask the same question she asked you for the whole day.
"Nat, no, I'm actually not, I'm fucking scared, and I feel like anytime Ross is going to be here or that Dreykov's special project is after us or the other widows." You let out, Natasha looks at you, then noticing that you just shed a tear, you are scared. Fearing that one of you get to be thrown in jail, or get killed because of some mind-controlled assassins.
"Y/N, you're doing great for someone whose first time being on the run, I know it's all hard to take in and if only we went our separate ways, you wouldn't have been dragged into this." She lets go of your hand, instead, she places her hand on your cheek once again, wiping the teardrop on your skin.
"If we've gone our separate ways I wouldn't last a day without you, I'm probably chilling with Wanda and Clint, I'm not saying they're not good company, but I don't want to be in jail." You say, and Natasha nodded. "I know what you mean, Y/N, I know…"
Then you notice the distance between the two of you, faces an inch apart, the two of you can feel each other's breath once again, and your eyes trailed down on her lips which Natasha noticed.
"That's also me saying I wouldn't last a day without you." You confessed, before resting your forehead against hers, Natasha was expecting you to kiss her, but being this close to you, she doesn't really mind, as long it's you she's doing it with.
Natasha stayed quiet, as she enjoyed the peacefulness of this moment, then she slightly pulled away from you to place a chaste kiss on your forehead, and she held both of your arms, wrapping them around her neck, now her arms made their way to your waist.
Burying her face at the crook of your neck while she holds you tight and close, you shut your eyes as the two of you embrace each other. While in the middle of the calm and serene moment, the lid of the air vent came off then. "We're good to go and we've got to be quick!" Then the two of you get off each other, if Nat gets to kiss you before you fall off the bridge, pretty sure you can kiss her before getting off the vent.
"Nat, wait…" You hold her arm since she's about to go down first, and she looks at you over her shoulders, you move closer to her before crashing your lips against hers, you softly bite her lower lip before slowly pulling away, and you see a smile on her face as she hopped down.
"Did you two just?" Yelena looks at Natasha, cringing with what her sister just did, Nat waits for you to get down before following Yelena. "Do we not talk about that too?" You ask Natasha before following her, and she looks at you with a smirk.
"Depends on what you want to talk about," Natasha replied, then you raised a brow at her response, you jogged leaving her behind and catching up with Yelena. "I will act like you didn't just kiss my sister a second ago so that we can communicate without me remembering that," Yelena says.
You chuckle, yet you smile at what she just said. "Is your sister usually annoying like that?" You ask Yelena while pointing your thumbs at Natasha, then the two of you look over your shoulders to see her.
"Ah, yes, I don't know what runs through her head," Yelena replied, while Natasha on the other hand, looks at the two of you not knowing what the hell you two were talking about.
Let's say that she's hoping and praying that Yelena doesn't say something about her in front of you.

After staying in the vent and managing to run away from the Task Master, the three of you ended up in a convenience store in the middle of nowhere, you bought some alcohol, and bandages to properly care for your wound, and Yelena looked around the store for an alcoholic drink.
"Where is the Red Room?" Natasha asked while she's washing her hands on the sink, Yelena shrugged and shook her head. "I don't know, every widow is sedated at every entrance and exit for maximum security," Yelena replied, as she took a look at some bottled alcohol, then tossed it to you.
"Where do you think I was after all this time?" Yelena asked Natasha, the latter faced her younger sister, and she looked at her. "I thought you're living a normal life," Natasha answered, you take the items they took and head to the cashier to pay for them.
"And you never bothered to check on me?" Yelena says, Natasha followed you at the front, yet she didn't leave the store yet. "I thought you never wanted to see me." She told Yelena, and the latter rolled her eyes then scoffed.
"Just say you don't want your baby sister to tag along and save the world with the cool kids," Yelena says with a smirk on her face, and Natasha clenches her jaw. "You're not really my sister–"
"And the Avengers aren't really your family, well… except for Stark, she stayed with you after all this running," Yelena commented, and suddenly she changed the topic. "Why do you always do that thing?" And Nat looks at her with a questioning look.
"Oh, that thing!" You butted in, then you do the infamous Black Widow pose, Yelena nodded giving you a thumbs up for knowing what she means. "You're a poser, Natasha," Yelena commented, then Nat raised a brow. "I'm not a poser." The latter says.
"It's okay if you're a poser, it's just that you think that everybody is looking at you." Natasha retorted, and you chuckle at the bantering between the two. "All the time I spent on posing, I was doing something good, to make up for all the pain and suffering we've caused." The mood changes real quick, now you stay silent.
"Well, pain and suffering is every day and we'll always be the trained killer that we are," Yelena says, the guy at the cashier hands the plastic bag containing all the items you bought, and you leave the store first. Natasha followed after and taking the bag from your hands, you looked at her who seemed exhausted from all the events happening.
"Do you want something to eat or drink?" You nodded, Nat signs you to follow her, and after a little bit of walking, with Yelena behind the two of you, the three of you arrived in a small food place.
You sat down then Natasha went inside, ordering cheeseburgers only for you, and beers for all of you, she sat down next to you, while Yelena settled in front of you two.
"An older widow freed me, and I killed her," Yelena says as she takes a sip from her beer, Natasha unwrapped the cloth on your arm, and she tends your wound while listening to Yelena. "Did you have a choice?" You ask her, and she only shook her head as an answer. "Then it's not your fault," Natasha says.
Yelena's eyes shifted at the family going home across the place you three are drinking, she seemed to like the view of what seems to be a happy and functional family. "Have you ever looked for your parents, the real ones?" Natasha looked at the latter as soon as she finished putting a bandage on your wound.
"I got abandoned on the street like garbage, I don't think I have a reason to look for them," Natasha says then she takes a good sip at her drink before asking Yelena the same question. "Well, they ruined my birth certificate so I made a new one." She said with a smile, and Nat seemed to brighten up.
"It says that I still live in Ohio, I have an older sister who moved to the west and she works as a science teacher, but she started working part-time when she had her son, and she has a husband who is a construction work–" Natasha halted Yelena speaking when she chuckled at her story. "That's definitely not my story," Nat says, then Yelena leaned back on her seat.
"Yeah, what is your story?" Yelena asked, and without you knowing, Natasha looks at you while you're spacing out. "Well, I don't really have a story, I don't have much to think about it alone," Nat answered. "But if I'm pretty sure it involves another person, who's a Stark?" Yelena teased, and with the mention of your last name, you look at the latter.
"What about you? What is your story?" Yelena says, then you wipe your mouth with the tissue before speaking. "Well, I was created because of my father's one of many hookups, lived with my grieving mother while I was an infant and she's grieving cause Dad won't marry her, so she left me at his doorstep, we did DNA tests to prove that I was really his and now he loves me more than anything." You say, smiling at the memory of your father who did everything he could to raise you.
"Then why aren't you with him?" Yelena asked once more, you look at Nat for a bit before answering. "Because I chose to do what I think is right, and probably did follow my heart." The blonde chuckled, noticing that Natasha was blushing at what you've just said.
"I have a plan." Natasha suddenly spoke, you and Yelena looked at the redhead. "Is it killing Dreykov and taking down the Red Room?" Yelena told Nat, and she earned a nod from Nat. "Even if he's way too slippery to kill and Red Room's impossible to find?" She nodded once again.
"Sounds like a shit load of work," Yelena says, making you and Nat chuckle. "Yup," Nat replied and Yelena took another sip at her beer. "Could be fine though." You say as you take the final bite of your burger. "Yup,'' Yelena said.
"I saw where he put the keys," Natasha says as she looked at the car, that the man of the family parked in the garage, the three of you smiled before speaking in unison.
"Top drawer green cabinet."

A customer called asking for directions. She was an older lady with her husband who was driving. I pulled up Google maps and politely asked them to be patient with me because I am dyslexic and not great with directions but had Google maps up and would do my absolute best to help them. I asked them for street names, store names, and other landmarks and found out where they were pretty quickly. Turns out all they had to do was turn around because they were driving into a different county. I told them this and described the stores they would pass but they either ignored me or somehow didn't hear me say "turn around".
The lady starts talking over me to describe what stores they are passing and I politely tell them they're going the wrong way, they need to turn around. The husband gets FURIOUS with me, yelling about how "Theres no Orange Depot that way!!!" Well yeah, turns out if you don't drive all the way down the road you won't get to our store!!!
I tried one last time by telling them I KNOW the road they're on (I name it and tell them I drive it all the time to visit my bf) but they're not hearing it. Old = stubborn and the husband yells at his wife (who, with the exception of the interrupting, was generally polite) to hang up. Whatever. Get lost, no skin off my back if you ask for something but get mad when you don't like the answer.
...30 minutes later an elderly couple walk into the store and my coworker gives me The Look while she's helping them. Turns out it was the couple I tried to help. You have no idea how hard it was to resist passing by and saying with mock surprise "Oh! You turned around!?"
On the bright side!!! The very same day I was helping a regular with an order that required a pallet jack, which I've only used twice and again, because of my dyslexia, its very hard for me to use. The customer was very patient and polite even before I apologized and told him I struggled becos Im dyslexic. He helped me out and he was very encouraging ; w ;

Daughter of the Sea - Chapter 1

(Y/n) stands in the kitchen of her mother and step-father's apartment, making the bean dip Smelly Gabe liked so much.
(Y/n) fixes her gaze on the counter but then she lets out a yelp as something hits her in between her shoulder blades.
"Hurry it up, girl!" Smelly Gabe snarls.
"Yes sir," (Y/n) murmurs.
A few minutes later, Gabe stalks into the kitchen, takes the dip without so much of a thank you.
(Y/n) fixes her gaze on the shoe on the ground before she moves to her room. She climbs into her bed, getting under her covers. (Y/n) turns, facing the wall.
She closes her eyes, falling to an uneasy sleep.
(Y/n) watches, disconnected from the others in the dream, as one of her brother's teachers turns into something that reminded her of a demon, or something similar that she'd read books about. The woman had bat wings, claws, and a mouth of yellow fangs.
Then (Y/n) looks around, her eyes widening in shock as she sees her brother holding a bronze sword.
Percy swings the sword, the demon exploding into yellow powder, vaporizing on the spot.
A hand on (Y/n)'s shoulder has (Y/n) jolting awake. "Honey? Are you okay?" Sally Jackson asks.
Catching the wide-eyed look of horror on (Y/n)'s face, Sally wraps her daughter in a hug.
(Y/n)'s breathing steadies, and she breathes in her mother's familiar scent - chocolate, licorice, and all the other things she sold at the candy shop in Grand Central Station.
"Did you get all your work done?" Sally asks softly, her thumb brushing over a slightly visible bruise that had appeared at the base of the back of her neck.
(Y/n) hums in reply.
. . .
The next day, (Y/n) is once again lying in her bed, not wanting to have to deal with Gabe throwing more shoes or glass bottles at / near her.
. . .
Percy walks into the apartment, dragging his suitcase behind him, hoping his mom would be home from work. Instead, Smelly Gabe is in the living room, playing poker with his buddies. The television blares ESPN; chips and beer cans are strewn all over the carpet.
Hardly looking up, he says around his cigar, "So, you're home."
"Where's my mom? (Y/n)?"
"Mom's working," Gabe says. "The girl's in her room. You got any cash?"
"That's it. No Welcome back. Good to see you. How has your life been the last six months?
Gabe had put on weight since the last time Percy had seen him. Gabe looked like a tuskless walrus in thrift-store clothes. He has about three hairs on his head, all combed over his bald scalp.
"I don't have any cash," Percy replies.
Gabe raises a greasy eyebrow. Gabe could sniff out money like a bloodhound, which is surprising, since his own smell should've covered up everything else.
"You took a taxi from the bus station," he says. "Probably paid with a twenty. Got six, seven bucks in change. Somebody expects to live under this roof, he ought to carry his own weight. Am I right, Eddie?"
Eddie, the super of the apartment building, looks at Percy with a twinge of sympathy. "Come on, Gabe," he says. The guy just got here."
"Am I right?" Gabe repeats.
Eddie scowls into his bowl of pretzels. The two other guys pass gas in harmony.
"Fine," Percy says. He digs a wad of dollars out of his pocket and throws the money on the table. "I hope you lose."
"Your report card came, brain boy!" He shouts back at Percy. "I wouldn't act so snooty!"
Percy slams the door to his room, which isn't really his room. During school months, it is Gabe's 'study.' He doesn't study anything in there except old car magazines, but he loves shoving his stuff in Percy's closet, leaving his muddy boots on the windowsill, and doing his best to make the place smell like his nasty cologne, cigars, and stale beer.
Percy drops his suitcase on the bed. Home sweet home he thinks.
Gabe's smell is almost worse than the nightmares about Mrs. Dodds, or the sound of that old fruit lady's shears snipping the yarn.
Percy sits, lost in his thoughts.
Then he hears his mom's voice, "Percy?" She opens the bedroom door, and his fears melt. "Oh, Percy," she hugs him tight. "I can't believe it. You've grown since Christmas."
Sally had brought Percy a bag of 'free samples' the way she always did whenever he'd come home.
The two sit together on the bed. While Percy attacks the blueberry sour strings, she runs her hands through his hair, demanding to know everything that he hadn't put in his letters. She doesn't mention his getting expelled. She doesn't seem to care about that.
Percy tells his mother that she is smothering him, but secretly, Percy is really, really glad to see her.
From the other room, Gabe yells, "Hey, Sally - how about some bean dip, huh?"
Percy grits his teeth. My mom is the nicest lady in the world. She should be married to a millionaire, not to some jerk like Gabe.
(Y/n) pads into Percy's room, and the dark haired boy brightens at the sight of his younger twin.
"I've got the dip, Mom," (Y/n) says softly. Sally gazes at her daughter for a moment, her gaze sad.
"Wait, (Y/n)," Sally says, and (Y/n) turns back to face her mother. "I've got a surprise for the two of you," she says. "We're going to the beach."
Percy's eyes widen. "Montauk?"
"Three nights - same cabin," Sally replies.
"When?" (Y/n) asks, looking excited.
She smiles, "As soon as I get changed."
(Y/n) can't believe it. Mom, Percy, and I hadn't been to Montauk in the last two summers because Gabe had said that there wasn't enough money.
Gabe appears in the doorway behind (Y/n) and growls, "Bean dip, Sally? Didn't you hear me?"
Percy wants to punch him, but he meets his mother's eyes, and understands that she is offering him a deal: Be nice to Gabe for a little while; just until she's ready to leave for Montauk.
"I've got it, Gabe," (Y/n) says.
"Sorry, honey," Sally says, looking at her husband. "We were just talking about the trip."
Gabe's eyes get small. "The trip? You mean you were serious about that?"
"I knew it," Percy mutters. "He won't let us go."
"Of course he will," Sally says evenly. "Your stepfather is just worried about money."
(Y/n) turns to face Gabe, smiling as kindly as she could. "What if I make a seven-layer dip that'll last the whole weekend?" she asks. "Guacamole. Sour cream. The works."
Gabe softens a bit, then turns back to face Sally. "So, this money for your trip . . . it comes out of your clothes budget, right?"
"Yes, honey," Sally replies.
"And you won't take my car anywhere but there and back."
"We'll be very careful."
Gabe scratches his double chin. "Maybe if the girl hurries up with the seven-layer dip . . . and if the boy apologizes for interrupting my poker game."
Maybe if I kick you in your soft spot, Percy thinks. And make you sing soprano for a week.
"I'm sorry," Percy mutters. "I'm really sorry I interrupted your incredibly important power game. Please go back to it right now."
Gabe's eyes narrow. His tiny brain is probably trying to detect the sarcasm in my statement, Percy thinks.
"Yeah, whatever," Gabe decides; he goes back to his game.
"Thank you, Percy," Sally says. "Once we get to Montauk, we'll talk more about...whatever you've forgotten to tell me, okay?"
For a moment, (Y/n) can see anxiety in her mother's eyes, but then her smile returns, and (Y/n) figures that she must've been mistaken.
. . .
An hour later, the three are ready to leave.
Gabe takes a break from his poker game long enough to watch (Y/n) and Percy lug the bags to his car. He keeps griping and groaning about losing her and (Y/n)'s cooking - and more important, his '78 Camaro - for the whole weekend.
"Not a scratch on this car, brain boy," Gabe warns Percy as he loads the last bag into the car. "Not one little scratch."
Like I'd be the one driving. I'm fourteen, Percy thinks.
Watching Gabe lumbers back towards the apartment building, Percy gets so mad that he does something he can't explain. As Gabe reaches the door, Percy makes the hand gesture he'd seen Grover made on the bus, a soft of warding-off-evil gesture, a clawed hand over his heart, then a shoving movement towards Gabe. The screen door slams so hard it whacks him the the butt and sends him flying up the staircase as if he'd been shot from a cannon.
. . .
(Y/n)'s POV
Our rental cabin is on the south shore, way out at the tip of Long Island. It is a little pastel box with faded curtains, half sunken into the dunes. There's always sand in the sheets, spiders in the cabinets, and most of the time the sea is too cold to swim in.
I loved the place.
Mom, Percy, and I had been going ever since Percy and I'd been a baby. Mom had been coming even longer. She'd never exactly said, but I know why the beach was special to her.
It's the place where she'd met my Dad.
As we get closer to Montauk, Mom seems to grow younger, years of worry and work disappearing from her face. Her eyes turn the color of the sea.
We get there around sunset, open all the cabin's windows, and go through the usual cleaning routine.
Mom, Percy, and I walk on the beach, feed blue corn-chips to the seagulls, and munch on blue jelly beans, blue saltwater taffy, and all the other free samples Mom had brought home from work.
I guess maybe I should explain all the blue food.
Gabe had once told Mom that there was no such thing. They had had this fight, which had seemed like a really small think at the time, but ever since, Mom went out of her way to eat blue. She baked blue birthday cakes, mixed blueberry smoothies, bought blue-corn tortilla chips, and brought home blue candy from the shop. This - along with keeping her maiden name, Jackson, rather than calling herself Mrs. Ugliano - is proof that she isn't totally suckered by Gabe. She did have a rebellious streak, just like Percy.
When it gets dark, we make a fire. We roast hot dogs and marshmallows. Mom tells Percy and me stories about when she was a kid, back before her parents had died in the plane crash. She tells us about the books she wanted to write someday, when she had enough money to quit the candy shop.
Eventually, it seems that Percy gets the nerve to ask about what is always on our minds whenever we come to Montauk - our father. Mom's eyes go all misty. I figure she would tell us the same things she always did, but neither Percy or I ever got tired of hearing them.
"He was kind, Percy," Mom replies. "Tall, handsome, and powerful. But gentle too, like you, (Y/n)." Mom says and I soften. "You have his black hair, Percy, and you both share his green eyes.
Mom fishes a blue jelly bean out of her candy bag. "I wish he could see you two. He would be so proud."
I wonder how she could say that when I'm the girl who cowers from her stepfather. The girl who hides in her room to get away from said stepfather.
"How old were we?" Percy asks, pulling me from my thoughts. "I mean . . . when he left?"
Mom watches the flames. "He was only with me for one summer, Percy. Right here at this beach. This cabin."
"But . . . he knew us as babies."
"No, honey," Mom replies. "He knew I was expecting twins, but he never met you. He had to leave before you were born."
I try to square that with the fact that I seem to remember . . . something about my father. A warm glow, maybe a smile.
Percy and I had always assumed that our father had known us as babies. Mom had never said it outright, but still, I'd felt that it must be true. Now, to be told that he'd never even seen us . . .
I feel angry at my father. Maybe it is stupid, but I resent him for going on that ocean voyage, for not having the guts to marry Mom.
"Are you going to send me away again?" Percy asks. "To another boarding school?"
Mom pulls a marshmallow from the fire.
"I don't know, honey," her voice is heavy. "I think . . . I think we'll have to do something."
"Because you don't want me around?" Percy says and I flinch, avoiding both his and Mom's gazes.
I glance up to see that Mom's eyes had welled up with tears. "Oh, Percy, no. I - I have to, honey. For your own good. I have to send you away."
"But you never send her away," Percy says and I look up, eyes wide with surprise.
Mom looks at Percy, eyes wide with shock.
Finally she says, "I have to keep both of you away from each other as much as possible. I thought you'd finally be safe."
"I tried to keep you as close to me as I could," Mom says. "They told me it was a mistake. But there's only one other option, Percy, (Y/n) - the place your father wanted to send you two. And I just . . . I just can't stand to do it."
"Our father wanted us to go to a special school?" I ask.
"Not a school," Mom replies. "A summer camp."
My head spins. Why would my dad - who hadn't even stayed around to see me and Percy be born - talk to Mom about a summer camp?
"I'm sorry, (Y/n)," Mom says, seeing the look in my eyes. "But I can't talk about it. I - I couldn't send you two to that place. It might mean saying goodbye to you for good."
"For good?" Percy asks. "But if it's only a summer camp . . ."
Mom turns towards the fire, and I know from her expression, that if we asked any more questions, she would start to cry.
