Can you make a comic where hikaru and ai are having romantic physical touch, like kissing or cuddling???
I actually never seen hikaru and ai being romantically together, I always love your doodle and theory about hikaai❣❣️❣️❣️
I hope you never stop 💖💖💖💖🥰🥰🥰
Hello~~~ heheheh.. I.. I was really surprised when I found this in my inbox today as I had my eyes open at 3am in the morning. What a coincidence because I ACTUALLY GAVE THIS AN ATTEMPT. JUST RIGHT BEFORE I READ THIS ASK. What timing, wow!! this was going to be left in my notes forever because I-...'d have been too shy to post it publicly but yeah it's dawn and I'm half-awake and dazed and all, I'm going to drop it here and slide back into the abyss
(yeah please do listen to Ruler Of My Heart btw I even translated the lyrics for you guys...it's in the link!! Imagine it's them singing them together lol. i listened to that as I drew this earlier)
I picture it's Ai who's made all the big advances, I mean that's exactly what's happened in the work. She initiated things. I think Hikaru'd have treated her very carefully considering how sweet he used to be.
To add, at this point I'm pretty sure these guys are at least inspired from Amenouzume and Sarutakhiko, they share too many similarities with those gods; and if that's the case, then even this is pretty accurate towards the legend and the gods because Amenouzume is the one who approached and got her man to love her, legends state SHE flirted w him and they just.. get married right after that. He just took a liking to her immediately... Even better, she literally got the perfect guy being the adorable and precious goddess she is, I'm so proud of her!! He governs over so many things and is so powerful (like one of the seven gods who have the title of Okami) but most of all he's virtuous!! He's noble!! Hey if I'M Japanese and and I write stories about the entertainment industry with gods involved there is NO way I don't incorporate this story somewhere?? I'd be so disappointed if it's not going to be mentioned when Amenouzume's already been brought up.
The reply got really long because I got overboard about this ship again, I'll put a read more ;)
If you've ever seen me throughout all these years, I draw tons of cuddles and fluff but I NEVER draw anything more than a cheek kiss, ever because I get embarrassed to bits. But with these guys...UGH let me justify myself, things look really bad rn but they ACTUALLY CANNOT GET ANY MORE MUTUAL IN CANON...
One of them states they were only alive when they had the other and that they loved her from the bottom of their heart and the other says they wanted to live with the other forever and confesses they were the first one they ever wanted to love, even while they didn't fully understand what love is!!! How strong IS THAT??
I care so much about canon, as soon as those dropped I just, there is no way I can't unsee that. It's just there. Furthermore, they already have two kids between them!!! They did all the things a couple would do, wouldn't they have??? I'm sure with all the positive comments they've made about each other, I can just go on and on.
What I can infer is, if there is someone who can make Ai drop those from her mouth out of her heart.. they're definitely the one who's made her really happy. She can't get more loving than that..he managed to do it, so I see him being so precious to her, he's worth everything to her you know? She went through so much for Kamiki's sake and yet she's so warm towards him I just can't!!! That's what got me because I could already see HE would have "loved" Ai a lot may it be twisted or not. Ai is smart. She's so serious about love too. Then what they had must have been so genuine. He couldn't have hurt her or made her suffer, that's not how it works.
The way I see it, he actually used to be the really gentle and timid type(this is what really gets me; he was so kind!!;), and he totally shifted upon having lost her. HE USED TO BE SO SOFT!!; and he still kinda is. I can see how he'd have been really nice in the past, it sort of does still seep through his behavior. He's just totally broken. This guy, I'm pretty sure he devoted himself to a cause related to Ai's life after she'd been gone...his life after her death is just him struggling to do something related to her, he's written that way and that's how he broke. How did he- what happened?? I just; he's broken so bad!!; Well.
Back to you, @jusmingamba :) I'm someone who's nuts over keeping close to canon,
if canon doesn't disappoint me, I can keep going... 'v')9 Thanks for the support! I don't want to stop either, I hope the MANGA doesn't make me feel that way, it's been so rough.. I knew it was going to be a tough road ;v; BUT GOSH. It's been so bumpy and tense and everything, I keep saying this over and over, but just what kind of guy did Ai love/?? The thing is, I see many good things about him but???;;; they make him appear as if he's so evil too so. I hope that's intentional. He has/had all the potential to be this really interesting and complex character, I hope they use it. I CAN. I WOULD. I CAN DO IT. SO I can't picture the artists not doing it themselves.. it'd be such a waste!!
If anything, they have to come back to them at least once before the manga ends because I cannot see Ai's wish being disregarded. That was an important plot point and I just DON'T see the plot being that cruel to her. They've been so cruel to Hikaru, geez.. but if he's someone she loved so much, I hope what she wanted does come through one way or the other, that's the only way I see this being a "fulfilling" story in the end.
I lost sleep.. I'm going to be so tired today and also pretty embarrassed from posting this but I regret nothing!! You're welcome!! Have a nice day!!!!
#hikaai#oshi no ko#oshi no ko spoilers#hikaru kamiki#ai hoshino#jusmingamba#and will i ever draw kisses again.. I wonder.. maybe in like 5 years or so?#doodle#spoilers#god I love them but they make my head and heart hurt so bad too#asknreply#I'm contemplating a lot before clicking the post now button.. well I hope you all like it :)#oshi no theories

8. If you had to write an entire story without either action or dialogue, which would you choose and how would it go?
21. Could you ever quit writing? Do you ever wish you could? Why or why not?
31. Write a short love letter to your readers.
8. No dialogue. Just fight. Honestly though, I think both could be a fun challenge but pure action would be more interesting to me. You could have a lot of fun setting it up too: maybe it's a scene between animals? Maybe they don't speak the same language? Magic zone of silence? Would be a good test of writing body language and subtext to tell an actual story with nobody spelling it out.
21. I really don't think I could. I've been writing for as long as I can remember; when I got bored in elementary school, I drew terrible comics and then transcribed them into prose. I doodled on my math tests and wrote fanfic into the backs of my English notebooks. Writing, and creativity in general, is a huge part of my life and one of the main things that brings me joy. While I've regretted certain things I've made, I've never regretted having the ability to make them. Giving up "writing" would be giving up a lot more than just words on a page: it's also my ability to string plots together in an interesting way, put ideas into a reader's mind, and make someone feel what I want them to. You're telling me I can't make comics with a plot anymore? I can't tell stories, or set up jokes that make my friends laugh? No way am I giving all that up.
On a slightly darker note, I have actually lost the ability to write prose before, and it was when I was seriously depressed. I couldn't focus enough to write nonfiction and I didn't have the emotional bandwidth for fiction. One of the biggest signs that I was recovering from that was I started writing again, and it helped me heal. Now that I'm in a better place, suddenly stopping writing for no reason would be a sign of something much worse on the horizon, so I really don't want to lose that.
31. Warning: Cheesiness Below
Dear readers,
If you'll give me a moment of your time, I'd like to tell you a story.
When I posted my first piece of writing, I expected silence. I posted a big fic in a smallish fandom while having no preexisting audience. Somehow, despite that, two people left me a total of thirteen comments, which still blows my mind to this day, and it motivated me then to keep posting my writing. I would not be posting things now if it weren't for those two people, and nowadays if not for the many more who regularly read my work.
So thank you to the readers who leave paragraph-long comments and to those who send me two heart emojis. Thank you to those who kudos every work and to those who bookmark only a select few they enjoy. Thank you to those who put their name behind a guest comment, and to those who simply lurk. Thank you fellow authors for providing me ask games and reading my WIPs and posting your own stories, thank you fellow fans for screaming excitedly with me over a game we both enjoy, thank you fellow readers for telling me how my work affected you. Your comments and kudos and keysmashes matter; in fact, they bring me so much joy I have a dedicated email folder full of them. You help keep me writing, and I am so very grateful for all of you.
If you'll keep giving me your time, I'd love to keep telling you stories.
#ask game#accidentallyadorable#jesus christ that last one took so long i am SO BAD at sappy stuff#never written a love letter before in my life#thank you for the asks!

When Chris Evans is nervous, there is only one thing that calms him down. And that one thing is you and the fact that you allow him to doodle on your hands all the time.
The premiere of Captain America: The Winter Soldier was the first time you saw Chris so nervous. Him constantly rubbing his hands together or bouncing his leg underneath the press table and the times when he'd fiddle with the hem of his shirts. These were things you noticed Chris did when he got nervous, and it seemed that you were the only one who witnessed them.
The third day into the film's press tour, you decided to take matters into your own hands. You knew what it felt like to be anxious, the feeling settling within the depths of your stomach or the constant avoidance of looking out to an audience. Sometimes you'd excuse yourself a few times throughout interviews just to catch your own breath.
~
The whole TCA: TWS cast sat along the stage of the comic-con panel. The hosts introduced you all, crowds cheering loudly when they saw everyone.
You took your seat next to Chris, who was already fiddling with his plastic water bottle that he'd been gripping so tightly on, you could already see the indents on the bottle. You smiled, looking out to the audience waving back to some of your fans that you could see holding signs up for you in the crowd. It was, in fact, times like these that your anxiety shot right out the window, replacing that anxiety with happiness and admiration of your fan base.
Five minutes into the panel talk and questions were directed to Scarlett and RDJ. You knew you wouldn't be talking anytime soon as, of course, like all other press tours, the interviews were heavily coordinated. So before you'd have the chance to speak, Sebastian, Anthony, and the Russo brother would go first. Sitting back in your chair, you took a sip of your water, your eyes following down to where Chris was bouncing his leg. Then, setting your water back onto the table, you pulled yourself and your chair closer to the table, reaching over across Joe Russo, who observed what you were doing.
"Could you pass me the marker, please, Joe?" you whispered to him; he smiled, nodding handing you the marker. "Thanks", you whispered again.
You returned to the comfort of your seat, Scarlett and RDJ still bantering. You look forward to the audience and give a tiny little smile to the fans who were waving at you. Your eyes looked down to your arm; you wrote a little message on your forearm, so he knew what the pen was for.
You scooted a bit closer to Chris just enough so you could hand him the pen. You lightly looked over to him; your hand went underneath the table and across to rest on Chris' lap. It was right there when his leg stopped bouncing. You held the pen in your hand, waiting for him to take it from you. Chris looked up turning his gaze to you; you gave him a smile nodding.
His eyes directed back down to where your arm was. He read the note you had written for him, 'Use my arm to doodle. It helps with anxiety :)'. He let out a smile, all the while letting out the breath he'd been holding in.
You looked back up and over to Sebastian, who was now talking; you felt the pen slip out from your grip, the marker clicked and the coldish ink embracing the surface of your skin.
One of Chris' hand rested firmly on your forearm to keep it from moving, and the other used to doodle. That was the first time in the history of you knowing Chris to be calm and content. No bouncing his leg or fidgeting. He was completely aware of everything instead of his growing anxiety.
~
It was after that moment Chris slowly began to fall in love. He never expected someone to notice his worries and do something about them. But, the way you sat there while he doodled on your arm didn't phase you at all, you wanted to support him, and you showed him that you did.
Years later, It became a force of habit, the tiny hugs you'd give Chris just to slide a marker into his pocket before going on stage. The small slight movements he'd make before he took your hand into his so he could draw.
You'd become someone who knew him better than he knew himself. The many dates he took you on lead to you moving in with him. The small moments you both had messing around on set and loving him in the silliest of moments meant eternity to the pair of you. You knew that you had fallen in love with Chris Evans, and so was he. You both just didn't realise that the moment would be a forever moment. If you hadn't offered him a marker that day, where would you be?
It was now the premiere of Avengers: End Game and the last press tour you'd have for a while. Today's interview consisted of a comic-con panel, the same panel you happily let Chris doodle on your arm five years ago.
You both sat together, his hand protectively on your thigh. You were speaking into the mic as a fan had just asked you a question about possibly seeing your character in the future of the MCU. Chris sat there attentive to your voice while he drew on the top of your hand. It was a little duck with a Boston Red Sox hat holding a heart.
Once you had finished answering the question and someone else began to speak, you looked back down to see what Chris was drawing. You squinted in wonder; looking back at Chris, you wondered why he was drawing this. Coincidentally, you had drawn a duck on him one day in between an interview—a duck holding a heart wearing a NASA cap. Chris looked at you with his cheesy smile. Oh! he was up to something, you thought. Chuckling, you watched him colour in the small heart with a red marker. He was, in truth, quite a good artist; you managed to take a photo of all his doodles over the years. But this one, this doodle was a bit different; it meant something more to you.
After you had both finished the panel, you were set on getting a new tattoo. Kissing Chris' lips, you told him that you'd see him at home. Chris had asked you where you were going, so you said you were going out to dinner with your mum in town, which was true you just left out the part of you going to get another tattoo. Your parents were in for the weekend for reasons unknown and wanted to see you before they left, so you had already planned to see them. He nodded, kissing you once more before departing ways.
You both were always so sentimental, and you knew as soon as you saw that duck in a red sox cap holding a heart on your hand that you wanted it to be a forever doodle. That day, when you had drawn a duck on him, he went and got it tatted on his hand the same day. The first tattoo visible on Chris' body, the only tattoo that wasn't hidden under his shirts. In contrast, most of your tattoos were on your arms and wrists; this was another tattoo among the few others you had on your hand, others being the original six symbol and some writing of your favourite quotes.
Before you knew it, you were sitting on the chair in your private tattoo artist's studio, getting the duck tattooed on you forever. The tattoo was a reminder of memories both you and him had experienced together.
~
The red sox hat, being where he took you on your first date five years ago. To a Red Sox game, of course. You didn't have anything to wear to represent the team, so Chris kindly offered you his Red Sox cap to wear; five years later, Chris had to purchase a new hat because you kept his one. Of course, he didn't mind; he loved to see you dressed in things that were his; the hat was one of them.
"I don't have anything to wear", you sadly pouted at Chris, looking at him in his Red Sox jersey and cap.
He looked down to you as you stood next to him, holding his hand softly, looking out to the stadium. He smiled, taking his cap off and placing it over your head.
"Now you do", he smiled, leading you down the stairs to your seats. You weren't really a fan of baseball. Still, once you had experienced your first game, oh man... it became a routine for both you and Chris to attend every game the Red Sox were playing at.
~
The duck, the furry little animal you had brought home a few months after you had first moved in with Chris two years ago. In all honesty, you wanted to get a turtle, but as soon as you saw that slight yellow fluff waddling around at the pet store, you wanted nothing more than to take it home with you. Chris couldn't say no to you, so the duck became your baby.
"y/n?" Chris came around the corner where you'd sat yourself talking to the little duck... Chris had been looking for you for almost fifteen minutes when he found you sitting there with the pet shop worker.
The excitement in your eyes told him that you had forgotten all about the turtle. You looked up at him smiling, patting the empty seat next to him. He sat watching you pet the small baby duck with your thumb lightly. "I'm naming him Alfie" you smiled brightly, looking back at Chris.
He took the duck out of your hands and chuckled, "Alfie, it is".
~
The red heart...
A reminder of how much you both loved each other. Something that had never gone away, the love both you and Chris had continued, it grew stronger over time, of course with a few hiccups here and there but never enough to break that love. But this, the tiny little heart being tattooed onto you, was one similar to the heart that homed your middle finger on a ring. The rose gold ring he gifted you when he asked you to be his girlfriend four years ago.
You rested your head on Chris' shoulder as both of you watched the office. A new series you'd been watching together, it was a few months after your first date with Chris, and you both were head over heels with each other.
"Hey y/n", he whispered.
"Mh?"
"I'm fallin' for you darling."
You lifted your head from his shoulder, looking up at him, "You're what", you whispered softly, you heard what he said, but you just needed to hear it again.
He brought the small box out, opening it to reveal a rose gold band hearts making up the band. "I said I'm falling in love with you", he smiled before continuing ", Be my girlfriend?" he sweetly asked.
You chuckled, letting him slide the ring onto your middle finger. "Of course", you whispered back to him before cupping his face. You both looked at each other, you saw it, you saw the life you'd been wanting. It was with him.
"I love you".
~
Sitting at the dinner table with your parents, you briefly looked down at the now wrapped tattoo on your hand. You had thanked your tattoo artist for another fantastic job; the new ink was precisely how Chris drew it on you earlier today. Your parents were eating away and so were you.
"It's great to see you again, Hunny", your dad spoke.
You smiled, nodding. "I've missed you guys so much."
"What's on your agenda for this weekend?" you spoke again, taking a bite of your food. Your mum and dad took one look at each other before your mum stopped to talk.
"Your dad and I are going to old friends party", she smiled at you. "party", you chuckled. "Since when do you guys party".
"it's an engagement party, I mean... do you have some parties we could go to" your dad joked.
"First of all... no." you laughed, cringing at the image in your head of your parents dancing and drinking. "But that's nice. I hope you both have fun, wish whoever a congratulations for me" you smiled.
"Oh, we will", your mum outwardly said. You took a second to squint your eyes in curiosity to your mum's tone. "Mhkay".
~
It was the end of dinner, and you had parted ways with your parents, taking a Cab to the home you shared with Chris. "thank you, driver," you smiled, hopping out of the cab walking up to your driveway. You giggled, seeing Dodger patiently waiting for you at the front door. "Hey buddy", you smiled, opening up the door for him to jump all over you.
Closing the door behind you, kneeling down to cuddle your pup. Dodger wagged his tail giving you kisses. "Shhhhh", you chuckled lightly, "were you waiting for me, huh?" you watched Dodger roll around on the floor. You stood up, taking your shoes off, leaving your keys on the hook. "C'mon, baby", you whispered, gesturing for Dodger to follow. You both walked down the hall, Dodger by your side.
You could hear the snores coming from your room and knew Chris was already sleeping. You opened the door, looking down at Dodger "go keep my spot warm for me, please", you sweetly asked your pup, who did just that. You watched him gently jump up onto the bed and curl up on your side of the bed.
Walking further down the hall, you went to take a shower. Changing into the PJs you left on the warming rack in the bathroom, you followed back out to check on Alfie, who would be sleeping in your office. Once that was done, you head into your and Chris' room. You took off your slippers and ushered Dodger to sleep in his bed. You kissed his head before he left. "night, bubba".
You slide in next to Chris, who had his back to you. Covering yourself with the blanket, you slide one arm around his bare torso pulling yourself closer to him. He was so warm, and you loved it. Chris groaned, turning over. He smiled sleepily. "Hey hon, how was dinner?" "It was good", you kissed his lips, "That's good," he said, pulling you into his arms to cuddle.
"Hey babe"
"mhhh", he mumbled in a sleepy voice.
"I love you."
"I love you too".
~
The next day you were doing a panel with the marvel cast. Like any other day, you answered questions, so why did you feel this one would be different. You were a bit nervous today, like you had woken up wrong, or you were waiting for something to happen. You didn't know if that was a good or bad thing.
You were talking to your audience. It was a large panel today consisting of the MCU cast, if not all of them. Maybe that's why you were so nervous; the bigger the cast panel, the bigger audience to speak to. "Make eye contact and hand gestures y/n," you thought to yourself right before you begun to answer the fan's questions. You start to use your hands gesturing when a fan had asked you about your character's personality.
Chris smiled, watching you intently; fans noticed. But as you were gesturing, he noticed the tattoo. He had to double-take when he saw your hand, leaving a small on his face. After you finished your question, he leaned in. "I love your tattoo, babe", he whispered; his comment calmed your nerves a bit as you chuckled ", just following your lead."
You both lean back into your seats as Joe and Anthony Russo began the next half of the panel. You were already forty minutes through... only another forty to go.
Anthony spoke, "As you may know, this will be the last you'll see of your favourite actors and actresses for a while..." Joe turned to the entire panel. "So we put together a little something of your time over the last decade" Joe turns back to the audience. "So sit back and relax."
The panel turned their chairs to watch the big screen, the lights dimmed, and the video rolled. It was a decade gag-reel of everyone in the MCU; Chris had pulled your chair closer to his; he knew you were nervous, for what reason? He didn't know, and neither did you. He should've been the nervous one; he was about to do something in front of the entire audience he had been planning for months.
Your head rested on Chris' shoulder, laughing with everyone else as the embarrassing footage rolled through. There was more footage of you and Chris than anyone else, but again, you were too clouded in worry. You didn't overthink about it.
Then there it was, a clip you didn't know existed—a video of you dancing with Scarlett and Jeremy on the infinity war set. You were being videoed from afar, but Chris comes into the frame making funny faces before pointing at you. You blushed a bit, laughing lightly.
"You see her", Past Chris spoke to the camera. "One day, I am going to marry her" he wiggles his finger over to your past self, who was still dancing around like an idiot. You swear your heart stopped, so ultimately, you started bouncing your leg. The video stopped, and the lights came back on. There were hushed voices; you knew they were looking your way, but you couldn't tell why.
You turned your chair, trying to avoid whoever was looking at you. Not noticing anything, nobody was talking. You had turned your head to look down to the end of the panel where The Russo brothers were. They were all looking in your direction, including the whole cast panel. You jumped slightly when Chris caught your leg mid-bounce; you turned to look at him, his eyes dazzling before you. Oh, that smile, you knew that smile all too well. Chris was smiling like a little kid.
Chris tapped you on your thigh, which caught your attention, so you looked down. This is it; this is the same feeling you felt when he first asked you to be his girlfriend. You burst into tears after reading the message on his arm; Chris' forearm rested in your lap while holding a black marker in his hand. You sniffed, looking softly at him. He was now in tears too. Taking the black marker from his grip, you clicked it; resting your hand on his forearm to steady yourself, you answered his question.
'Will you marry me, y/n?' the question written in his bold writing stared right back at you.
You always had your answer 'of course.'
You closed the lid on the pen, and Chris opened his hand; your engagement ring sat in the nook of his palm. He slides it onto your ring finger right next to your rose-gold one. You smile blinking through the tears, you turn to him, and Chris had already stood with his arms in the air.
"SHE SAID YES"
The whole audience got up cheering; he leaned in, cupping your cheeks, both of you laughing through your kisses. He had lifted you into his arms, spinning you around. He set you back down; you wiped the tears from your face laughing while wearing your t-shirt. At that point, you knew everyone was in on your proposal; you turned to your cast members, who were all clapping.
"Give a round of applause for the future Mr and Mrs Evans!" Joe spoke.
You went around hugging everyone who had gotten up just to congratulate the pair of you. One by one, your friends embraced you in their arms.
"Congratulations", two-voice spoke from behind you, "oh my god, you idiots", you chuckled, pulling your parents into a big hug. Chris stood next to you as your dad pulled him into a hug. "Your fiancé sends her congratulations", he laughed, referencing the conversation you had with them last night.
Chris looked down at you, "They had texted me last night what you had said. I'm surprised you didn't catch on", he laughed. "I- I didn't know... I was curious after mum said it so suspiciously but didn't think," you mentally face-palmed yourself.
And like that, the panel was concluded. Everyone congratulating you and Chris before leaving. Chris had set up a little engagement party back at your house; everyone was enjoying their time having fun. You sat on Chris' lap still in shock, his arms wrapped around your waist "you didn't see that coming, did you?" he smirked, looking up at you.
"No... no, I didn't" you laughed sweetly. Your hand ran over Chris' forearm where it still had both his and your writing on it. "That was the best proposal ever" you looked at him, smiling, "I'm glad, darling" you both leaned into each other, lips connecting softly.
"I've fallen deeply in love with you, Mr Evans".
"I'm still falling for you".

part 2/6
2nd part of my old Black Sails scraps and doodles from 2016–2021. Not in any particular order.
This time the drawings are short comics that were abandoned for a reason or another, mostly because I lost the interest or felt like there was too much to redraw compared to the satisfaction of finishing something else more interesting. There’s also some talk about rigid mindset and how overthinking can lead to stagnation.
Contains early silverflint moments, specks of dust, rackham's glasses are found, jealous-Billy spying, desk-Flint gets caught, "squint-squint", a quiet moment and its bird dilemma etc.
And please do not steal and repost elsewhere. But if you do get inspired, feel free to make your own interpretations!
Long-ish post under the cut!
“What are you thinking about?”
“Specks of dust.”
“Liar.”
The idea was to show how much they and their relationship had changed. This was around 2016 when the season 3 began and I was still re-learning to draw with a tablet. Another art from the same time period (and idea) is this art: The Dynamic Duet.
And for some reason I was really stuck up thinking that I’d have to first do the sketch, then the clean line art, then planes underneath, then shadows etc. and I have always struggled with that kind of approach! Mainly because I hate doing clean line work, lol. And I was a fool for trying to start with a white canvas! It’s so much harder to find values and plan things, or at least in my opinion..
“Rackham’s glasses are found”
To celebrate their new pirate alliance, they share the four lenses of Rackham’s sunglasses as they were also found at the time (because I wanted it to resurface and they could be made into jewellery you know...). This was right after the episode where Anne fights and hurts her hands (here wearing protecting mittens from Max even though she’s not trusted at the moment). Uh, this doesn’t spark joy interest me much and it’s quite stiff and would recuire a lot of redrawing faces, so - discarded!
I somewhat like the idea still (them having something to share, although it’s on Jack’s detriment). I tried to find a stylished comical easier doodlier? way to draw them and draw clean lines etc, but it just wasn’t for me. Also here too, the background is blank and too bright. Later I started to think things as scenes and draw everything at the same time instead of adding the bg later or trying to show everything (and everyone) at the same time.
Here’s also Billy in the same story:
He’s spying on them and since it’s so bright he’s wearing his diy “sunglasses” and being envious to the others. *cough* uhhh...Idk? Also people were shipping Ben Gunn (and cheese) with Billy, so that bled into this too... Charles’ spirit is riding the “big white bird” that was mentioned in Teach’ story and in this case it’s a pelican.
As you can see, I also wasn’t using the brushes that I use nowadays. A hard (or soft) round brushes with no change in opacity just aren’t for me. For example, in traditional art, I struggle with markers and copics, but really enjoy charcoals and watercolours. I prefer ragged edges, layering and thus blending things into each other (and leaving the viewer to fill in the gaps) instead of having stark or definite things. I also struggle with vector drawings, although I have decided to finally start learning to use them...somedayyyy.
Also, I wasn’t paying attention to anatomy, like, at all LMAO. I was just so happy to be able to put something on the canvas.
This is one of my first ink drawings, but I cannot find the original anymore. Again, I like the idea, but not how things look art-wise. And I was so adamant, that I have to get everything right in the traditional drawing and not fix anything later on on photoshop because then it would be cheating. And thus, I was never able to move on or finish this properly the way I liked it (idiot).
BUT! It was a good practise to just draw and test things on paper and gain confidense on drawing things in overall (as I was still getting back into art). To get over the fear of blank paper you know, and try to find my style whatever it would start to form into.
Oh, yeah, Desk Flint.
Desk Flint was a thing for a while (still is, lol). Another drawing from that time is this Slingshot Pirate (2016). And Desk Flint keeps repeating in many later works too. The point is mainly “Flint sitting behind his desk and people interrupt him and I don’t have to draw him fully”
Well, anyway... moving on.
Here’s a plan that has been stuck for years. It’s name is “Squint-squint.” Left is the sketch (with another sketch underneath because the expressions were clearer in the old one). On the right is the continued piece with colour scheme but I cropped the eyes panel and faces out (it was so ugly for some reason) but if I ever continue/finish this, it will be redrawn there in the middle.)
Left. “On that moment their eyes were literally open(ed).”
Right. “After squinting on the shore for days, they had actually forgotten how pretty the other idiot’s eyes were.”
I still like it, quite a lot, but my perfectionist ass only sees too much “boring” things to draw and get right, so it hasn’t been a priority for a long time and other works have kept me occupied and more interested in them.
--------------------
“Quiet Moment.” 2018 (a wordless comic happening after the events of Charles Town)
I’m going to explain after these pictures, but see how big the difference is when you start to look at references and plan things together (the space, “camera” movement, background etc). I also started to colour with coarser brushes:
I drew this around early 2018. A lot of improvement! Still quite a lot of negative space (empty white backgrounds), but it fits this work. A few things tell where we are (the ship’s cabin and the balcony). Changing distances and how things are cropped/framed make things more moving and focused (and less to draw, lol). Colours and brush strokes are softer, more layered and so on.
But guess why it’s still a wip!
I couldn’t decide what bird is flying over there.
Yeap! At first it was an albatross (doesn’t go to Bahamas?). Then a seagull (but which seagull? there’s so many subspecies! Is the ship at sea or at the harbour? what birds are there on the open water/ close to the shore?? oh noo...) So, yeah, wayyyy too much over-thinking.
At some point I ended up with white-tailed-tropic-bird which was a plus! because it sounds like the bosun’s whistle, but at that point I was so tangled and frustrated and still had so much to finish with this that I left it be. Also Flint’s face looks different in every frame so I would’ve had to change some parts, lol. And then I forgot it for a couple of years! And then I had learned to draw a bit differently and again saw too much things to do, so it’s quite hard to take on this again, especially when there are so many other interesting wips waiting...
But I still really like the feeling of it! And the colour scheme. So I might just limit the things I’m allowed to fix and then post it as it own someday. I mean, it’s 90% finished, but the last reach just feels like miles.
And that’s what usually happens with my wips. They reach a certain point and it suddenly becomes really hard to finish or get back into.
But every time I learn things and then use the information in another work! :D
Final note for this post (altough this has been said hundreds of times): use references and look how things go and try to see the structure and form beneath things. And think where it is happening and how the light and surroundings affects the characters and/or spaces. And maybe think what you’re trying to convey with the art, what idea? what emotions? what purpose? or like, what are you trying to learn with the piece? and so on...
Thanks for checking this out, I hope you had fun <3

PnF headcanons that need to be evicted from my home of a brain
[note that this post is a submission, not my writing!]
-----
•Phineas, though no one would’ve guessed it, is into the horror genre. He loves horror movies and will play horror games if he’s given the chance. He’s like “hey wanna see a monster I drew?” And the person is like “sure!” And it’s generally the scariest picture they’ve seen. Or he’s like “I wrote a short story for the Halloween assignment” The teacher takes a look at it and is like :|, cause it’s pretty scary. •Phineas doesn’t cry because he thinks there are more important things to do. Doesn’t mean he won’t encourage other people to cry their feelings out. •As they grow up, Phineas and Ferb develop an AMAZING sense of style •They also love ALL genres of music •Phineas realizes the possibilities of fashion when he discovers he’s genderqueer(yes I love that headcanon, it’s amazing) •Phineas needs glasses when he’s older(you can thank halflizard for that one) •The first time Phineas said a cuss word is when something he was inventing went wrong and he yelled “DAMN!” in front of the whole gang. He got scolded by Candace afterwards •Ferb sometimes can’t sleep so he either reads a book or play video games. Sometimes, Phineas is awake too and they play together •Both brothers get angry in their own way. While Phineas expresses it by yelling, Ferb is a lot more quiet up till the point where you ask what’s wrong because the tension is radiating off him. •Everybody plays Minecraft •Ferb has a twitch account along with a gaming channel on YouTube. He doesn’t do a face cam nor commentary, but he’s so good that people still watch and he still gets a lot of views and subscribers. He does Let’s Plays, Walkthroughs, Minecraft building tutorials(featuring Phineas), or redstone tutorials. •Ferb learned everything he could about America when Lawrence and him first got there •Ferb loves gamer lore •Ferb, to Baljeet: If you are ever bored, look up the Kirby lore. •Nobody knows how many sunglasses Ferb owns and he would like to keep it that way •Both Phineas and Ferb doodle on their schoolwork. •Phineas’s doodles are squiggly lines, Stickmen, expressions, or little inventions for later. Ferb’s doodles honestly look like they could be really good tattoos, the Union Jack, or their projects for later •One time the two got sent to the principal’s office. When walking home Candace asked what happened. Phineas explained how this one teacher kept asking them why Ferb never talks during projects and how it’s not good to leave it all up to Phineas. The teacher kept pressuring Ferb to talk during the project causing Phineas to yell at them to stop. They got sent for disobeying and yelling at a teacher. •The Flynn-Fletcher siblings all play Gang Beasts, Among us, or other multiplayer games together •Linda absolutely loves seeing all three of her kids hang out together because it’s a nice change of pace from the regular day •Linda loves hearing Lawrence ramble on about an antique or a fossil of some kind •Candace doesn’t like it when Phineas and Ferb cuss but she’ll do it all the time •Ferb: Fuck. Candace: Ferb! You can’t say swear words. Phineas: But you say that all the time! •Candace will be awake all night to order a rare Ducky Momo collectible online •Candace considers the mug Phineas and Ferb made for her in CATU one of her most prized possessions •She was super happy when Jeremy told her he was into LARPing and/or dressing up in costumes. They both create self inserts together •They met Sara and Neil at a comic con •In a sports game of any sort, Isabella and Buford get super competitive with each other. If they are on the same team though, they are gods and you have no chance of winning. •Buford, Baljeet, and Isabella are all good friends with each other, even when Phineas and Ferb aren’t around. (They all vibe with each other) •Isabella loves all the cute characters in video games and generally likes to kick ass with them •Like if the gang is playing smash, she would pick Princess Peach, Kirby, Jigglypuff, etc and absolutely decimate the other players •She and all the other fireside girls have weekly sleepovers •Buford once made a very emotional film about his fish and everybody who cries, cried •Buford went to an aquarium once and had the greatest time, he loves ocean biology. He’s the type who puts on ocean documentaries on Netflix •Baljeet adores that autumn back to school aesthetic. •While he’s not super good at video games, He will look up the lore of games because “I’ve read all my books and these are super interesting”. He and Ferb bond over this •The PnF gang can and will kick your ass if you mess with them. They also support LGBTQA rights •They also always pair up with each other if possible for a school project

Part 3
Part 4/?
Part 5
With Putunia out of his view, Habit wanted to turn around. Look after her as she ran as if that would give him any answers to all the questions appearing inside his head.
Read the rest of the fic under the cut!
He still remembered the day she got checked in by her parents. She was very loud and violent. Jumping around his office as soon as she entered, not even sparing him a glance.
So rude! He wasn’t looking forward on having to handle her at the time.
At least she seemed to appreciate his wall art. He liked it when his creations got acknowledged and fawned over. It caused him to feel a sense of accomplishment. Throughout his life he learned to cherish the little things. They kept him going. Pushing him forward when nothing and no one else did.
As he started talking with her parents, something felt oddly familiar. It scratched at the back of his head like a caged wild cat trying to escape its small prison. He didn’t let it show. He just answered all their questions. They had so many it was almost making head hurt. Most of them were just silly, even in his less-than-sane opinion.
Is it really free? Is it legal? We don’t have to come to check up on her until the very end, right? Could you provide a free ride for her to get back home?
At some point he stopped paying attention to the parents’ blabbering and just kept nodding, while looking at the little girl still engrossed in the paintings. He hoped he could get the parents out of his hair soon. He really wanted the mind-scratching to go away.
Once the parents seemed satisfied with everything, they called Putunia over. Habit was still looking at her, not sure if feeling delight to meet his newest Habitician or something akin to annoyance.
Not even a second later, he decided it was annoyance. As soon as Putunia set her eyes on him she, for some reason unbeknownst to him, decided that he was a super villain. He was taken by surprise when she sprinted towards him only to punch him where she really shouldn’t have. Not even a man built like Boris could keep standing after that.
Once he was done dealing with the pain on the floor he ushered the father away even if he was trying to help him. Boris stood up, trying to contain his annoyance at the whole situation. He wished he had Pabit here with him right now. He was sure he could’ve stayed calm with him on his hand.
As he was about to take a few deep breaths, maybe count backwards from ten, he saw what was going on. Putunia standing straight and tense with her eyes closed so hard her whole face was wrinkled, her mother raising her hand above her head-
Suddenly, he knew what the scratch in his mind was. It was abruptly so obvious. So painful. So familiar.
He saw a much younger Boris, his father, and his Lily. They were standing in front of him. He was frozen still. It took him only a blink to get back to reality. See the little girl, her mother, and her boxing glove.
His body moved on its own. It felt like he had no control over it. He grabbed the mother’s raised hand in a flash, maybe a bit harshly at first, but he let go just as fast. Thankfully, it seemed to get the point across.
Don’t hit her.
He remembered being in a bit of a shock for a while, his voice completely lost to him. That’s when he drew the first anti-violence poster, or rather, post-it note.
He didn’t do many things right in his life but, he thinks, that’s the one thing he didn’t screw up.
His reminiscing got put to a halt when, immediately after the little girl was out of sight, a man with bright pink spectacles appeared before him.
It was Dallas, the painter. The first thing he noticed were the paint stains on him. He was always messy when it came to painting. Different colors were smudged on him every day. You could almost tell what he was painting just by looking at those.
Then, looking up, he noticed a snowdrop hanging above Dallas, stuck behind his headband. He couldn’t tear his eyes away from it for a while.
Purity, innocence, sympathy… That’s what the flower meant. Though, somehow, that didn’t sound right.
After burying the Tooth Lily seeds, he didn’t have anything to do with flowers anymore. He avoided them for so many years. It was easier ignoring what his heart yearned for that way. Only once he was brought out of his manic state by Flower Kid did he allow his mind to wonder about flowers, study them, and appreciate them.
He had to think harder. What does a snowdrop mean?
A hand casually put onto his shoulder broke his train of thought.
Boris finally looked down, away from the flower and towards Dallas. The younger man put his other arms onto the table, and leaned his head on his hand. The relaxed smile plastered onto his face made Boris feel calm. It’s like his smile was telling him-
“Don’t worry, dude.” Dragging out the words like he usually did. “All’s cool.” He took off his glasses, hooked them onto the low collar of his shirt leaned closer. His smile turning a bit more devilish.
Habit could feel his breath now. As seconds passed he got more and more flustered at their proximity. His heart skipped a beat in anticipation as Dallas closed his eyes, puckered his lips, and sent a kiss to Boris.
Boris wasn’t sure how to react. Another kiss, just for him! Blushing, he opened his mouth to say something, he wasn’t sure what but he needed to fill the silence. It was simply too much!
Dallas didn’t let him get even a squeak out before he removed the snowdrop from his headband and tucked it behind Habit’s ear next to the other two flowers.
He gave Habit another pat on the shoulder, “You can, like, relax now.” And continued on the same path as Putunia.
Ah, he remembered the meaning now.
-----
When Dallas came across the Habitat website during his art block he thought he found his solution. The page was totally inspirational. Like, the bold colors, the doodles, the everything! It really didn’t take him long to pack up his art supplies and make his way there.
Even before entering the Habitat, when looking at the whole area, he was itching for a brush. The whole resort was an art project, if you ask him. Especially the weirdly shaped tower. Honestly that one looked ready to collapse at any moment, but he was no architect, he’s sure it’s fine.
When he entered the place he was getting a bit giddy seeing all the wall art. Could his art block, like, really end here? Is this the inspiration he needed?
Wanting to soak in as much of the view as possible in as little time as possible, he jogged around the place. The more he explored the calmer he got. It was a big place. A unique place. And the whole experience could be an inspiration by itself. The giant wall doodles were also nice, but it wasn’t quite cutting it. Something was missing. He wanted something more.
Should he really stay here? He wasn’t sure anymore.
Not having time to think his decision trough, someone grabbed him by the shoulders and spun him around, using enough strength to not give him room to resist.
The person responsible was like, super tall, very green, and kinda pretty. Taking in the comically fluffy hair, giant blue coat, and little top hat on top of his head, he put two and two together.
“Whazzup, Doc?” He made a little peace sign, as if it added to the conversation.
The doctor tilted his head, seemingly waiting for some elaboration from Dallas.
Okay, maybe it was like, totally weird to come in unannounced and then wander around for who knows how long, instead of going to the medical professional running the place. But who can blame him? He’s an artist in need of motivation!
“So, like, I want in.” Does he, really? “Into the Habitat, dude.” Guess so.
The tall guy instantly perked up, hooked his hand around Dallas’ own, and dragged him towards the tower.
“Oh, then follow me!” He was already dragging him places, but okay, got’cha. “You will love it here!”
Dope, he sounds genuine. It’ll be, like, fine.
It’s been so long since that day.
Besides his first week there, he barely saw Habit around. Eventually, he forgot about him. Well, kind of. There were so many self-portraits and doodles decorating the Habitat it was hard to keep him completely out of mind. Only towards the end of his stay, when the creepy PSAs of his started playing every night, did Habit start lingering in his mind for longer periods, rather than just quick and easily forgettable reminders.
He wasn’t sure what exactly went on with Habit behind the scenes, but it didn’t seem very… chill. He might’ve been a bit dense, but not blind.
In the end, he ended up hearing about the events that transpired during the big event from others.
Maybe it was the fact he hadn’t experienced any of the bad stuff directly. Maybe it was the fact he’s a criminally chill dude. Or maybe it was the fact that Habit was genuinely remorseful about his actions, by the tone of the letter, even desperate. Whatever the reason, it didn’t take him long to make up his mind and accept the Doc’s invitation.
He even thought of the perfect gift to bring him, to celebrate his new beginning. Something representing hope.
A snowdrop.

Anon said: what do you think about kami//sero?
Definitely prefer them as bros, right now!
Anon said: Do you have an Instagram account too?
Nope! Anything of mine you see on instagram was posted without permission
Anon said: i've been going thru my old hq blog for nostalgia and i gotta say your matsuhanas are my fave... u drew makki so pretty ;; as a hq fan i rlly want to thank u for giving so much to the fandom, your art is amazing
Aw god anon thank you for liking it! I’ve been missing making stuff for hq a bunch lately, ngl ;;; it used to be fun
Anon said: Hello, i really like you and your art. Recently i have been thinking about starting my own art blog/account but the problem is that i am a very shy and awkward person. I want to post stuff i like but at the same time i am afraid that not many people would like it. And i dont want to just post fanart of popular stuff to get likes. Do you have any tips on how to start an art blog and how to overcome anxiety of showing it to other people? Thank you and sorry for bothering you :)
Aw damn, I’m really not the best person to ask this to, anon orz the thing is that in my case most of my anxiety about posting comes from knowing people will see it? And find faults in it? And get on my case for it or misinterpret it? or have expectation only for me to let everyone down??? Scary stuff, having an audience - so the starting part of making an art blog was never a reason of anxiety for me, since at first with no followers at all I was just doing my thing and not expecting anyone to ever find it hahahaha rip the coward in me misses those times ngl
but yeah, with the limited experience I have in this the best thing I can tell you to do is to just start your blog and post what you want to post, and people who like exactly the type of content you want to post will eventually find their way to your blog - look for the right tags to use to try and put your work in their line of sight, but aside from that I’d advice you to not think too much about followers at first. It’s gonna take a while for them to start coming, and even longer for your notes to go as up as you’re wishing right now, keeping track of the numbers will just fuel your anxiety and make you want to quit in the long run - for this to be in any way a fun experience it’s best if you start your blog knowing full well that you’ll be your own whole audience for a while, I think, and just draw keeping in mind what you would like to see
Anon said: god i love how you draw kid and black star i'm... love 💛
I’M GLAD they hold the most special place in my heart, drawing them always puts me in a good mood uwu
Anon said: need... more... deathstar you’re art is amazing! i love your soul eater doodles!

Do you have an OC with a funny/weird/unusual creation story? (not the story of the character itself, but the way the character happened / you suddenly got attached; any character you didnt plan on keeping around, but then kinda did?) Tell the story!
[FINALLY - I tried to answer this ask for days now but always had an error I thought it was just my ask in general but made a test and that worked but this ask would not so i had to edit my full answer in piece by piece and for some reason that worked but not posting the whole thing as is. XD But I am dedicated to answer so here we go.] Oh that one is easy.... tho I must say the one OC kicked off the creation of many more but let me explain...
So... the character we gonna talk about is Taivo.
Oldschoolers might still remember her from the Animexx days and the one wolf comic I had, which only exists because of her. So it goes like this I'm what... 16 years old, I'm not doing so great because the times were rough and i happened to be in therapy at the time, group therapy to be exact with one dude and one girl who were in similar boats as me as for the reason we were there. There was a fourth too for a while but she wasn't ready and went back to solo sessions. Anyway, our lil group decided we hang out outside of sessions, try to support each other in our daily life and at some point after each session (which was in the evening) we went out together to a pub/bar that was in the area and kinda had some metal/goth/punk/scene aesthetics and clientele going on. There we enjoyed some companionship and mead and absinth and other stuff and tried to function like normal youths that weren't spiraling. (mind back then in my days the drinking age was down at 16, smoking age too) I was known for doodling random stuff to manage myself especially when I got sensory overloads and my companions understood and thankfully did not think hat I was ignoring them - sometimes when I was a bit tipsy they used to ask me about my art and stories bc sober you could not ask me to share such things without shying away thinking it was not interesting and/or would be torn down by negative reactions etc. etc. it was hard, mind you I was not well at the time, far from it actually and would be for a while. and on one such occasions when we were all drunk I was going back to my drawing pad and my male companion pointed out that there is no way i can draw or shit as drunk as I am and I took it as a challenge and drew the first sketch of Taivo, bent over the body of a dead pup. It looked great if I might say so, at least for my level at the time. And thus I had proven that even drunk I can fucking create. But then they were like "so is that one of your OCs or like.. random? New? Whats her deal? Why is there a dead puppy? What is going on?" And that was the point were I grabbed my notebook, held up a finger and said "give me a sec" And then i wrote down half of the plot of my wolf comic Eternal Winter which happens to revolve about Taivo and her whole story bc she is the protagonist and once I got going I made even more notes and started thinking about the cast and secondary characters and I was in a creation frenzy on steroids and I mean I had Absinthe that evening so maybe the green fairy suckerpunched me in the creative zone who the fuck knows? Either way the comic is on hiatus these days because given how old the story is it naturally evolved and changed and imma wait until I have everything back in order and maybe continue or write it out because the comic is really old and doing comics is hard and i like it but there are so many stories I wanna tell and things I wanna draw and short comics I wanna do that might be just some scenes I illustrate but that also takes time and idk if I can commit myself to Eternal Winter right now or the near future because.. even if I made a comic page each week which is absolutely doable it will still result in "only" 52 pages a year and given how the story grew and evolved and how much time I already "lost" in all the year is laid dormant I kinda feel like idk I don't want to right now? XD Going back to it and sticking to it would be some years of commitment and nah... my hyperfixations take me through my stories and it's hard to stay instead of stray ya know?
But yeah this is how Taivo got made! In some bar, upon a dare that wasn't even a dare but I took it that way and it took me to that wicked bitch and her origin / anti-hero story that resulted in a Comic and a shitton of wolf characters and kinda also lowkey inspired a Prequel story from characters that existed prior to Taivo that play a bigger role in Eternal Winter and were i was like "oh yeah origin story time lets make that a comic too" So... yeah, while almost each of my characters came about under different circumstances, Taivo came up bc I was hella drunk and nobody believed I was still coherent enough to do most things.
Also was not believed I could walk in a straight line, which I could, and I did, and my companions were loosing their mind bc apparently i was magic and actually despite all the shit it was a pretty good night :)

Hi, dear moonracoon ! May I ask for your advice ? How do you think an artist can get noticed in the ffxv fandom ? I really wanted to ask you since you're so kind and amazing ! ( >^
HELLO, MY DEAREST BEAUTIFUL ANON!!!! ヽ(・∀・)ノ♡♡♡
First of all, I’m sorry that I took longer to this than expected, at least for a personal ask. I didn’t mean to make you wait. (。•́︿•̀。)
Okay, let’s check your question!!
Hm!
First off, I want to tell you that I’m not an artist. So the advice I’m giving you is the best I can think about, but thinking about what I write/post, and what I’ve heard other artists say, but it’s not entirely from experience. So know that if none of what I tell you works, it’s not on you, I may have missed an important advice that didn’t cross my head!
If you’d like, you could ask someone from the drawing/painting world. Yuu-senpai, Hana-senpai, even Solaris-senpai, or many others are very friendly and open and they could give you advice from experience if what I tell you doesn’t convince you. c:
1. The first 5 tags
The first 5 tags under your artwork are the most vital and important, because they’re the ones that actually show up in the Tumblr search section!
You want to use the first five tags under your artwork as the best. Final Fantasy XV and FFXV would be the first two I used, and then something more specific (if your artwork is an Ignis one, then next comes the Ignis and/or Ignis Scientia tag, etc.).
If you want to/like to talk in the tags (like yours truly!), use the last tags or, at least, start from the 6th tag and ahead. The rest of the tags won’t show up in the search section when peopel browse the tag; the rest of the tag space are there for personal use (so you browse the tags in YOUR blog, not in the Tumblr site).
WARNING: I HIGHLY advice you to NOT use the first 5 tags to fish for attention! If your artwork is a Gladio solo artwork, you have NO REASON to use the Ignis tag or a Noctis tag or even something like a Lunafreya tag!! DO. NOT. USE. UNRELATED TAGS.
It may work to catch the attention, sure. Someone that follows the Ignis tag may see your Gladio artwork because you used the tag. You’ll catch their attention, but it will be NEGATIVE ATTENTION.
This IS from experience. You do make your artwork reach more people, but all you get is for people to go “Ugh” and scroll past your stuff because you’re spamming artworks unrelated to the tag in the tag. So do NOT!
2. Reblogs
Reblogs are possibly the most vital, most important part to be noticed.
While tagging is GREAT and the first step to make your art go somewhere, I’d dare say the majority of people don’t necessarily follow a tag. I don’t; all that I reblog, all were reblogged from another blog. I only follow the Corqi tag because of how scarce material there is for it, so I don’t want to miss anything. But, for example, I don’t follow any Ignis or FFXV tag (mostly because I want to keep my dash as short as possible lmao, but also) because I follow enough blogs that reblog enough artworks, so why follow a tag if the rest of the people are doing it for me?
Reblogging is a very, very vital part to get noticed because your art is reaching those blogs that don’t follow the tags.
This is, however, not on you. You need another blog to reblog your artwork; one reblog opens many chances so someone else reblogs, and so on and on. The more reblogs, the more chances for more reblogs, and hence, the more people will see it.
You know what I just thought and I have no idea why it never occurred to me before?
Let’s say you have your art blog. Do you have another one where you reblog stuff? Do you already have followers? Reblog your own artwork; post in your art blog, reblog in the fandom one. That way, you’re your first reblog, and because your reblog/fandom blog will probably have more followers than the art one (at least in a beginning), it has more chances of reaching more people.
So it’s very important that someone else reblogs your work. This is not on you, as I said, but rather in people giving you a hand at it. Except we don’t always reblog everything we see.
So why not try to get a friend that starts doing it?
You’re on anon for a reason, but if you want, you can tag me in your art, or tag me in it pretending to be someone else who happened to see the artwork and thought about me, so I won’t know it’s you (and don’t worry, I won’t get suspicious; I have no way to know it’s you, and I often get tagged in other artworks by people even if we don’t talk often, so I won’t look at the tag and say “Ah! It’s that anon from the other day!” I’ll just think it’s cool someone tagged me in something. Your identity is safe with me, whether you keep it anon or not
To be honest I don’t reblog EVERYTHING that I see, but there’s big chances I will do it. I really like all the art in this fandom, it’s crazy how skilled you people are! But yeah, showing me can lead to me reblogging it, and there you could find that beginning of the reblogging chain.
Or if you’re too shy to show me, show someone else!!
Any of your friends, or someone you feel confident with, or comfortable with. The point is getting one first reblog that can lead to a few more, and the artwork will start eventually travelling across the FFXV fandom.
Speaking of reblogs, don’t be afraid of reblogging your own work in your own blog itself!
A lot, a lot, a lot of artists do it. A lot of writers too; I do it often!!
What I mean is, think about the world. It’s not the same hour everywhere. I can post something during my evening because everyone is online on evenings, right? So it wil reach everyone.
Nope. To some, it’s night; to some, it’s bedtime; to some, it’s morning. It won’t reach everyone simply because of timezones.
So what I do is, I post something, and then I queue a reblog of the same post but it’s my “12 hour reblog”. If I posted at 6 pm, I’ll queue it for 6 am. I like to do the 12 hr one because I think it’s more chances of reaching many people, with the not-so-literal thought of “if it’s day time here, it’s posting on nighttime in the other side of the world, so in 12 hours it will be this hour tomorrow for them”. I hope it makes sense.
And sometimes I even make a 3rd reblog. Sometimes I do feel shy about it because I fear to be annoying, but 99% of the times it works and it reaches people it hadn’t reached before.
It’s a way of sending your own work back to the top of the dashboard, and sometimes a way to give a 2nd chance for people to see it; sometimes we scroll past something without noticing, so a reblog will give us a 2nd chance to see it.
3. Posting silly stuff sometimes
It’s not a secret that sometimes a silly stickman comic you drew in 5 minutes gets more attention than the profound artwork you worked in for 10 hours. It can be annoying, disappointing, even discouraging at times. But it is, nonetheless, a good way to get attention.
I’m not saying you force yourself to think about jokes; most times forced jokes don’t work. But if you ever get a silly idea, don’t be afraid to draw it!
People won’t think about the art and judge it. They’re just looking at the joke. And if they find it funny, they may check your blog for more, and maybe you won’t have more silly comics, but maybe, from 10 people that look in your blog for more comics, 3 will think your other work is AMAZING and will fave and maybe even reblog some of that too. It can even get you a couple new followers.
Again, this is not NECESSARY. I follow artists that have never once in their lives (of this fandom) posted any joke or silly thing, and I still follow and ADORE their work to bits. The only thing I needed was to find them once.
4. Asks and requests
If you’re up for it and have no troubles, you could also be open for quick requests in your ask box.
Have you seen some of those memes/charts, with many facial expressions/prompts, and people request something? “Could you please draw (X character) in A3, please? Thank you!” That sort of prompts. That can be very useful!
People really like free art. Some of us don’t have money for big commissions, so sometimes, when an artist can make a 15 minutes sketch or doodle of something we like, that’s amazing, and it can lead to earning followers and/or reblogs here and there.
NOTE: Remember, however, that you’re not WORKING FOR US. You’re not getting paid. Do it for fun, when you can, and don’t stress or overwork or take 100+ requests and try to answer them all in 2 days. It’s only for fun. Alrighty?
But yeah; sometimes, requests can lead some people to your ask, and hence tto your blog. And it’s fun! A lot of people in this fandom have some damn amazing creativity for prompts (and boy, do I know this!!)
5. Collabs /Drawing for a fic
This works better for writers; people look at artworks way, way, way more than they read fanfics, simply because it’s less time consuming and immediate.
However, collabs can be an amazing way to get both artist and writer to be known.
There are some that follow the artist; some that follow the writer. So when a writer posts a fic linked to an artwork, people will find out about the artist’s blog that way. And when an artists posts an artwork with a fic linked, people will find the writing blog. It’s a good way that gives and receives equally.
There are people that are REALLY passionate about a fanfic, so you can be sure as heck that they will check out any artwork about it. That they like it or not, that’s on them, but they will at least check it out.
So you can also draw for a fic you like, no collab needed.
This works just fine, maybe even better. With this, you not only get to be known, but you also make a writer HYPED AND ECSTATIC. There ain’t a feeling in the world like getting art drawn for your fic. So you can be sure that 99% of chances are the writer will reblog even if it’s not a collab (unless the writer is some FREAK, I can’t imagine why someone wouldn’t reblog an art of their fic???). And so, the people that follow the writer will see it too.
This can work very well because it’s a way to get at least one reblog for sure, which is a beginning. :)
6. Join fandom weeks/weekends
This is a good way to have fun and get yourself to get known.
That is because this is a way so you will for SURE have at least one reblog. And what’s best is that that reblog won’t be from a blog who has 1 follower, it will be reblogged by a fandom blog who has dozens of followers.
If someone is a lot into Gladnis, chances are they will follow the Gladnisweek blog. Maybe they won’t participate, but they follow it to see the entries of other people, and they have it for sure that the content will be exactly what they’re looking for.
There is no way your artwork goes unseen in a fandom week!
7. Be true to yourself; have fun
I know, I know. The most cliché of the clichéd advices. But it’s very important that you remember that.
Don’t draw for the attention; draw for yourself.
This IS another one from personal experience. I honestly never thought I’d write for this fandom, even less have this many followers or this many requests! And you know how I got here? Because I only had fun, shared my ideas, shared my passion for the game with others, I was honest and literally, literally only had fun.
Indeed, what pushed me to fame was literally just joking around. It was the Gladio’s pick up lines series. Which I did not because I wanted followers, I just wanted to make people laugh, and I wanted to share my jokes.
All that I did was have a lot of fun and do what I wanted, not what I thought other people wanted, and eventually ended up here.
Drawing for attention is like drawing for money; it’s empty art.
You don’t dance, sing, paint, or write thinking about how much money and fame you’ll make. You dance, sing, paint, or write thinking about what your story will say, what you want to transmit, how you want it to look. You’re thinking about creating and sharing, not about the fame.
It’s as I said about making silly things or comics sometimes; it’s only if you want to and if you’re having fun, you don’t have (and must NOT) force it!! (Think about a gas; if you force a gas out, it’ll come out as poop. It must come out naturally. Same with everything else, art included!)
So stay true to yourself. Draw what you want to draw, as you want to draw it. True, you’re not drawing just for yourself; if that was the case, you wouldn’t post it online. You’re posting it because you want to share with others. But do so like that; draw for you and share with others, don’t draw what you THINK the others want or what you THINK the others will like. Draw what you want and what you like, and show us; you’ll find someone that likes it too.
Don’t stress about what people will like or not. Think about what YOU like, and that’s it.
I understand the concern about getting your art to be known, but that comes later.
And that’s all that I can think of right now! Gee, I sure hope I’m not forgetting/not thinking about something more or else. But I’m sure maybe some raccoobo can have advice too, so, while I can’t tell you for sure it will happen, maybe someone will drop a comment under this, so make sure to check the notes if you see any. My raccoobos are smarter and have more experience than me, so they may know something else! ヽ(・ω・)ノ
Of just draw the boys in lingerie, for some reason most fandom seem to like that? Lol. I honestly rarely like that and prefer them in fancy, but maybe I’m just old fashioned or a NERD. But really, draw what you like, this sentence was a joke c:
Anyway, buddy, that’s that!!
[I’m gonna add a read more; it’s not more, just my personal thanks, but as this is already lengthy, I’m gonna add this under a cut. Hope that’s okay, buddy :)]
Thank you so, so, so immensely much for asking me. I feel flattered that you decided to put this bit of trust in me. I don’t know what I did so you felt comfortable and asked me, but I’m happy about it!!
Thank you for coming to this raccoonie for advice. I’m not the best at it, but I try. I hope any of this can be useful, buddy. Thank you again for the trust, it’s really valuable to me and I feel very honored that you asked me. :’)

So. *grabs pompoms* This raccoon will be HYSTERICALLY CHEERING ON YOU, OKAY. Greatest of lucks, buddy, I know you can do this!! GO, GO, A-NON, GO GO, A-NON!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! o(≧▽≦)o

In light of recent events.
I am going to address this in a masterpost right now because of how many comments I have gotten.
I did not mean for my Elemental AU to end up looking like a rip off of the Celestial AU(made by the talented arieryn). I never had any intentions of it, in fact, I had very little clue what exactly the celestial AU was at the time I originally made my AU. I just knew it existed, and my AU actually started as a one shot I wrote on my Wattpad, so the designs were based mostly off my descriptions for the characters.
As for the story, unlike the Celestial AU, the Elemental AU isn’t divided into kingdoms, was legit inspired more by stories from those I’d heard from MLP and Lego Ninjago, which I am a rather huge fan of both, granted I didn’t willingly make them inspired by that, it just sort of happened, and the story actually has been completely written out and I wanted to either make a comic or a fanfiction about it.
I never meant for it to be as similar to the Celestial AU as it is. I truly never did, and if it would make everybody a little happier, I could readjust the designs for Michael and Jeremy because those two are honestly very similar to the Celestial AU, although not based on the same things.
Or I could just take down the posts and just continue with my other AUs. Speaking of, I know that arieryn has also drawn a Mario AU, and if anybody says I stole that AU, to you I say my AU has Squip as the villain, and Chrissy as the sidekick. Their AU has Rich as the ‘villain’ and Jake as the sidekick. That and I made my AU way before the other AU was made. I’ve written out full stories and everything. And I was planning on posting my Musical CHB AU today but they’ve also done that, so now I don’t know.
I am truly truly sorry if it seems like I was stealing because I honestly had little to no clue about the original AU. I can redesign Michael and Jeremy, and I probably will now(funny enough I was doodling what would happen if my Jeremy met Celestial Jeremy but like….it is just a sketch in my wip folder on my computer).
But I meant no harm towards @arieryn, I really didn’t. If they would like me to take the AU down I will. Because I truly am sorry for all this mini drama. I’ve been in this kind of situation before, but it was much worse(just gonna say the Undertale fandom was ten times more dramatic than the BMC fandom and I am thankful for that)and it caused me so much stress that I just shut down all my tumblr related accounts and never came back. But then I decided that it was safe to come back, and now I’m going to address the situation head on.
But like I said, I’m vey sorry to everybody who felt as if I was stealing, and to @arieryn themselves, because I really do love them as an artist and I adore their AUs and even thought I just recently discovered their instagram(cause I just recently got an instagram)I did not mean anything bad towards them, nor did I mean to make it feel like I was stealing their content, because I’ve been condoned for art/idea theft before, and I just...I didn’t mean for it to happen
(on a side note, I was on their insta, and they actually posted a thing about this on their story, not saying who it was, and it mentioned that this person stole the pride kids, aka those pride PFPs, and yes, I’d seen them, but it was only for like a few seconds. I can redo those too if it truly needs to be done, again, if they already heard about this, I am very very very sorry and I don’t think I can apologize enough for this because I feel pretty bad now. Like I feel absolutely horrible for this now and am very sorry to everybody for this inconvenience….)
if they happen to see this, I never meant to steal from you, or make it seem like i was stealing from you, @arieryn, I never ever did, and i know it sounds like i’m making excuses to make it seem like i didn’t see your au before making mine, and i had seen it, i just wasn’t really thinking of it when i made mine and that is the honest to God truth. Again, I am truly sorry. To everybody. But mostly towards arieryn, because I’ve had it feel like people stole my stuff before, granted it was at school and a classmate I drew a picture for claimed it as her art and she drew it, it’s a very similar feeling and it does not feel good.
I just wanted to get this out here now since I just now seen all the comments about it in my inbox(which I will say, my inbox is usually very empty, seeing four notifications notifies my mind that something is going on). I am addressing this head on because last incident I had like this I just deleted my tumblr and stayed off social media for about a week. Mainly because one person in particular was absolutely harrassing me, more than should be done in this situations. What we need to do is be rational and civilized about this like I’m trying to be.
Thank you for reading, and please tell me if you think I should change the designs or just take the posts down. Thank you, and again, I am sorry.

Salt (Insert-version)
Writer: im-a-writer—im-in-distress.tumblr.com
Fandom: Teen Wolf
Insert with: Theo Raeken
Others: McCall pack
Rating: #NewGirl, #GhostOfDepressiveHolePast
Words: 1800+
Warning(s): new girl; mention of deceased relative.
A/N: 1) This idea of Theo smelling salt started weeks ago, but I couldn’t figure out how to move with it. Then yesterday, I worked out in a little during a 10-hour car-ride to my grandparents’ place. I finished it today, just a little while ago. The initial “salt” concept is the same – (I wanted to portray that no matter what) – but the comic and the pack and all that, that was just stuff that popped up as I wrote. I kind of really like this for a couple reasons, so I’m just going ahead and posting it as is. 2) (I get the feeling there may be a series based off this coming someday.) 3) As always, I tend to write things as an OC-version first and then edit to a reader-insert. But if you’d like to read the OC-insert version, you can find that here.
It was a Tuesday after third period when Theo first smelled salt. On particularly stormy days, an edge of saltiness did hang on the breeze as it rolled in from the sea, but that was miles away. On any normal day, even a chimera like Theo Raeken couldn’t smell it. But that day, a new saltiness appeared.
It clung to the walls of his lungs as he paced through the halls of Beacon Hills High School, stealing his focus. This new scent bothered him. There were plenty of weird things in this town; a new anything never meant something good.
The chimera found himself on edge, a place he never wanted to be. He couldn’t bring himself to care about anything important. Certainly not school, but that didn’t often make his priority list. Not his pack and their constant need for supervision. Not even the newest toy of the McCall pack.
Though at least she peeked his interest.
She was a transfer student from abroad. She’d spent the last few years in Cyprus where her mother worked. Her father was in the military there, but was killed in action last month. That’s when they moved back to the town where her mother grew up. She was friendly and enjoyed playing the piano and couldn’t wait to make a fresh start in California.
Or that’s what she’d said in her introduction speech when she’d first walked into Theo’s class. Then she took the spare seat next to him in the back even though the teacher had directed her to the open desk on the other side of the classroom. She smiled at him, helping herself to his textbook, and then waved the instructor on when she noticed everyone was still staring at her. The balding man straightened his Bill Nye tie and cleared his throat, adding to the uncomfortable aura that tainted the room, and then turned to the chalkboard.
She then turned to Theo and reached a hand across her body towards him. “I’m Y/N.”
He took it, pushing a breath out of his lungs. The scent of salt was back and distracting him. “Theo.”
Y/N smiled and turned back to the lesson. Theo watched her for the rest of the period. She didn’t seem like someone who had just lost her dad. He got the impression perhaps they hadn’t been very close, she and her father. She was bright and friendly and really, really talented with a pen soaked in boredom. Her color-coded notebook that she pulled from her bag had every page covered in many, boxed pictures.
They were more than doodles. Comics, he realized. Over-exaggerated expressions and assets with unfortunate proportions detailed people in her life and moments floating around her. She’d tried to take notes, but her pen had started marking down the balding professor in his fifties with pinched features and a Bill Nye the Science Guy tie that was so long it dragged on the floor. A series of three boxes illustrated how he would trip over it every time he went to move.
Theo snorted to himself at the accuracy of the representation, and Y/N glanced at him. He was sure she would slam the notebook shut and blush or tell him off, but she gave him a simple smile before a new look crossed her face. He went stiff, blinking at her. She tilted her head and gazed at him, not saying anything. She wasn’t quite seeing him; she was just looking at him. He didn’t know what to make of that. Then she returned to her comic and started another box below the previous.
Theo watched her pen trace the lines of a new person on the right side of that new box. It was a male in a tight t-shirt and a cheeky smirk. His proportions were complimentary; someone the artist rather liked, he guessed. He was looking at the empty space beside him with a smug pleasure. Her pen sketched something behind him, peeking up from behind the desk like a fat lightning strike. Motion lines were drawn around it like it was waving back-and-forth. Theo’s brow crinkled at it. Then she drew two fluffy ears atop his head, and she leaned back, pleased, a giant grin aimed his way. Theo’s jaw dropped.
She muffled her laughter in her hand, trying hard not to draw attention to herself. Theo’s eyes bugged out of his head as he grabbed her notebook and held it up to his face, staring at the little figure. He’d been drawn into her comic as a smirking, wolf-eared cartoon!
She was still laughing when he looked at her. She shrugged at him, and took her notebook back from him. He resisted her; having caught her attention, he took a single finger and pointed at her. You next.
A look crossed her eyes, and she laid the notebook back out to fill in the blank space. The girl she drew next to the wolf-boy was different that he thought she’d draw her. Different than he’d draw her. This figure was young, very young, with pigtails and bows and a Sunday School dress. She had paint smudges on her face and tainted fingers holding up a finger-painting in celebration. A wide grin took up half her face, but it didn’t mess up the proportions; it was just a happy kid.
Y/N stared at the comic, clicking her pen on the table for a moment. Then she rocked her head like, Eh, good enough, and handed it to him.
Theo wasn’t sure what he made of this representation. It was her, sure, but so young. Like she was only happy when she was little. Simple kid joy. Theo didn’t know why that bothered him. He traced the lines with his eyes: the pigtails held with bows, the paint on her cheek and fingers, the painting being waved in the air with a giant smile plastered on her face. It was almost comedic, like Y/N was making fun of the situation. Then he realized what the little painting was of.
It was Cyprus.
The island was smudged and shaded in different concentrations as though in different colors, like it was an afterthought. Like an adult brain found a shape in their child’s mess.
But it was there. And it was intentional.
And something sad rose up in Theo’s gut. It had been bugging him all day. The bell had rung not long after that, and Y/N had skittered away with her notebook in hand.
As it turned out, he and Y/N didn’t have fifth period together, but seeing her come into the room for sixth surrounded by the McCall pack had something boiling. She hadn’t noticed him yet. But then Lydia did. And the sudden stop in her friend and a crinkle on her nose made Y/N search for the cause. She caught sight of Theo and waved, returning to her search. Lydia yanked her hand down and whispered something to her in a harsh voice, something that Y/N shot her a shocked look for and glanced at Theo with a confused expression.
Theo turned away in his seat. He didn’t need to see any more.
Halfway through class and Theo had found his gaze once again on the new girl. She sat across the room with the McCall pack, Lydia and Stiles sitting in front and beside her respectively, and the kitsune glaring at him from the corner desk. He snarled at her.
Y/N looked uncomfortable. Like she couldn’t breathe. She was stiff and awkward, and Theo could smell the panic from all the way across the room. The McCall pack was oblivious, per usual. Not a clue one they’d claimed as their own was trying not to freak out.
And on top of that, the salt scent was back and stronger than ever. That was worrying him more than it had reason to, and it was all because of this incessant need of his to be close to that girl. It made him crazy that they hadn’t noticed something was wrong; he couldn’t even go investigate the scent and trust they’d watch out for her. His leg was shaking, and he knew all three of that pack could sense his frustration. They kept shooting looks at him.
It was when Y/N shot out of the classroom at the sound of the first bell that Theo realized she hadn’t unpacked anything. She had been sitting on the very edge of her chair, bag in her lap, body made small and tense, eyes glazed over as she focused on staying calm. She hadn’t even taken out a pen to fiddle with.
And that realization made Theo shoot out the classroom door through the McCall pack without even a second glance back when Stiles started cursing at him.
They didn’t try to follow him. They didn’t try to follow Y/N. It irritated him that that annoyed him. He was chasing after some human girl. He had bigger fish to fry.
Theo shook his head and cleared his mind. Students making their last stop at their lockers crowded the halls, but thankfully, that salt scent was much more potent than any human stench. He picked it up passing an adjacent hallway aimed away from the main entrance, and he started after it. It was stronger then, and that wasn’t because there only a few stragglers around him. There was more of it in the air, a thicker stream rushing up his nose. He narrowed his eyes as it got stronger and stronger, his steps faster as he followed it deeper into the emptying halls. He followed it around another corner and then—
It was gone.
Theo sniffed the air; the salt was dimmer now. It was behind him. He turned around and found the stream again. It was dispersing, its source gone now, but there was still a concentration of it near him. He could smell it. And he could… hear it?
The chimera shook himself clear of his tracking instincts. He needed to focus. Then he heard it.
He shoved the door to the empty music room open, and Y/N leapt out of her skin. She whirled around from her place on the piano bench, her hair flying around her and bright, shimmery streaks painting her cheeks.
Theo stared at her as she stared at him, both at a loss of what to do. Her bright eyes sparkled with water, her pale skin tinted with red. The grand black piano casting a large shadow behind her made her look small. And Theo remembered the pigtails in the comic.
Y/N turned away from him, somehow trying to hide the fact that he’d seen her crying. But it didn’t matter. He could smell it clearly. It was her. The salt was from her tears.
He closed the door and came to stand behind her. The saltiness of her scent brought a sadness that chased away the fear of the unknown. It didn’t mean there was a monster. It just meant there was a human girl who was utterly heartbroken.
And he wanted to be around the day she drew a comic of herself that smiled as an adult…

Another year of progress!
Oops...this is getting posted a little late because I forgot about it... XD
January: Nothing here because I wasn’t doing too good at the start of the year. Things happened...I lost some friends. I do have some hidden doodles from this month, but the only art thing I posted was a vent comic, and I REALLY didn’t want that to be in the art summary. On a positive note, I did manage to create a complex MMD model, custom physics and everything.
February: Another somewhat slow month. College ate up pretty much all of my time, because I wasn’t aware that I was taking too many classes. The piece from this month I did for my illustration class, in which we had to create a new design for a playing card.
March: So this was when I got into Bendy and the Ink Machine, and it quickly became my [autism] special interest. I drew a LOT of art for it within two months, both digitally and traditionally. I don’t do a lot of traditional inking stuff, but BATIM got me more into wanting to do it.
April: More BATIM stuff! This month I had my Animation 101 final due. The assignment was to make an animation that copies a certain animation style, so I went with a 30s look. You can see the animation here. I drew this poster a few weeks later because I got the idea from the animation.
May: I went to redraw some old af humanized Viva Pinata designs this month, cus I felt like rewatching the show. I was able to post a bit more art this month since the college semester was over, although most of it was just doodles. Other notable things I drew was my second BATIM contest entry, and the fake SU screenshot that people believed was real.
June: This was the month that I made Mimi, and my best friend Kurt established Raziel’s character. I watched Howl’s Moving Castle for the first time, because he said that Howl’s personality was similar to Raziel’s, and that’s where this month’s pic came from. Their relationship gives me life tbh.
July: Huge month for me and my art. I participated in the annual Artfight, which is basically a series of spontaneous art trades. People on the opposing team will draw your characters to “attack” your team, and you have to draw them a revenge attack in return. Last year, I drew 40 pieces, and I’m definitely going to do it again this year! Constant drawing massively improved my art.
August: This month was pretty slow. I began to focus on creating a more complex painting style, to better myself from last year. This painting I did is of my character, Mallory. At the end of the month I started attending community college, to transfer credits back to my main college later this year.
September: Another month where I didn’t post much. A lot of my time was spent focusing on college work. When I wasn’t doing that, I was either doodling (traditionally on paper, preparing for inktober), or playing Overwatch with my friends. I’d gotten the game when it first came out, played it for a bit, but then stopped for over a year after my main computer couldn’t handle it, so this month I finally started playing again.
October: Second biggest month for my art. I completed inktober, and I’m proud of myself for sticking through all the way! This piece however, was what I painted for Kurt’s birthday. It was the one single digital piece I did this month.
November: After inktober, I became lazy and pretty much just doodled, without fully finishing any pieces, which is why there is such few art in the last two months. This was one of the few things I did finish. I’m most likely going to draw these guys a bit more, since I really like the designs that I made.
December: I literally only posted twice this month. I was in a really bad slump for several weeks after the semester ended, so all I was doing was doodling and playing Overwatch. I didn’t have the energy to really finish anything until the end of the month. Marvin the Martian has been my favorite cartoon character of all time ever since I was a kid, and I’ve been trying to draw him ever since I first started art.

I'm sort of new to -good- oc making and was wondering since you have so many awesome ocs that if you had any tips or tricks in developing an oc? Thanks!
For starters, I’m quite honored you think my ocs are awesome, as well as coming to me for oc advice! I’ve been making ocs for YEARS and I would be more than happy to give out some tips!
Oc creation is a process. A character may come to you very quickly, however even if you think you’ve fleshed them entirely out in a day, that character may still change and develop over time! Be it their back story, personality, design, etc. I’ll break this into a few parts for your sake and the sake of myself haha.
Appearance
Starting with appearance! IMO, as an artist it’s my favorite part of oc creation! I more than often create a character's physical appearance before giving them a personality or backstory, while I’m sure there are plenty of people that do it in reverse, not that there's anything wrong with that! It’s just personally easier for me this way, and how I’ve sort of become conditioned to make ocs.
When creating visuals of your characters, don’t be afraid to take inspiration from things you like! It’s what I do all the time! But it’s important to put your own unique spin on that character, because while I know a lot of artists don’t like hearing the “this looks like this existing character” you do have to be careful, if you want that oc or character to be their own stand alone thing you have to eventually while developing them, push further and further from their inspiration to make them something that stands on their own!
As someone who wants to be more of a cartoonist, I tend to try to exaggerate my character appearances as much as I can! For example my short characters are very very short, and my tall characters are practically palm trees! I also try to avoid same face as much as I can haha, as I’ve been growing as an artist I’ve been trying new things, I’m not scared to give characters different noses or facial hair or different body types! I’ve become really personally proud of how unique my characters have been starting to look, based on their silhouettes alone you can tell each one is different. I can’t wait to see how I personally develop as time goes on, I can only get better from here! I feel just in general playing around with different styles too, can help you make some pretty cool looking characters.
Another important thing I wanna just mention is color schemes, you wanna make sure that in general the colors don’t clash too much, my current characters I essentially just based off the colors of the rides they are inspired by, so they are (at least I hope) pleasing for the eye and not to overbearing.
Also as I mentioned before, characters you make may change over time! I first drew infamous Mr. S back in July of this year and he’s changed quite a bit in that time frame (all thanks to me drawing him over a potato as a joke)
So don’t be scared to develop your ocs visually after you’ve created them! Be it for personal projects, stories, comics etc, your characters will grow with you!
Personality/Backstory
Another thing I’ll touch on quick is backstory and personality! Another thing that will probably change a bit as your character develops over time, and sometimes you don’t even have to totally retcon their old lore/personality! That can just be your character developing or changing after something occurs in their story line that makes them either a better or worse person.
Each of my characters I try to give their own personality. Don’t be afraid to make a mean character, or a nice character that pushed past their breaking point might get a little snippy! People aren’t perfect, so characters wouldn’t be either. They will make mistakes, people will get mad at them, they will get mad at others, etc. It may be hard at first to develop a character's personality on the spot, but don’t get discouraged! For me it's helped to write out scenarios with these characters, rp them, as well as doodle them interacting with others, it’s really helped me to develop them further!
Backstories are a big more general, you can really do whatever it is you want with your characters lore and history. However take into consideration how this may affect your character's personality! For example, Odin is a bit of a bitter grump, due to the fact he has to deal with LD AND LL constantly bickering, and is the only one who has to put up with them. Other things have happened to him as well, that have caused him to become a bit of an uptight moody snob. “Wow, what a jerk!” Most people probably think, but his character will eventually develop to be a bit less of one! It’s just going to take things happening to him that soften his personality a bit, but he will still be the same old grump from time to time regardless, good ol Odin.
As someone who’s been making characters for so long, it can be hard to make one with a unique personality. Yes, I am one to look up random personality traits to help me out, and you shouldn’t be afraid to either! Look at your favorite characters, how do they act? Look at your least faves, what do they seem like? Borrow traits from several characters and tack them onto your own, but always be careful not to contradict yourself too much. Yes, even the most soft spoken and shy of people may get angry and practically explode sometimes, but what would it be to push them so far as to do so?
I hope this was helpful! If anyone in general has oc questions, I’ll try my best to give advice! In general, I would always recommend asking for critique on your characters if you want them to have a bit more polish (if they are being created for a story or comic you want to share with several people) , but if you're creating ocs just for yourself or fun, just have a blast! As long as you are having a nice time, you have made a great oc
Also totally random note but I feel that also submitting characters to really strict closed RP groups on DA has really helped me become aware of the characters i have been creating. It’s made me think about balancing negative and positive personality traits and creating a coherent back story that makes sense and ties to the character's personality, pffff. I also maladaptive day dream a LOT, been doing it as long as I can remember really, and from that day dreaming I have thought up 100s of character designs and, some which I’ve developed into a lot of the lil gremlins you see me posting to my social media today!

VIXX Ken: Better With You
5 out of 6! Whooo! This is based on @i-would-rather-be-queen ‘s The Five Senses of VIXX post! :) I hope Ken’s one is good!
NOTE: Please take note that before I even wrote this, I asked for her consent. I messaged her to ask if it was alright to write something based off of her work, so please keep in mind that I asked permission before doing anything! She did give me consent, so yeah :) ^_^
N’s Version Here!
Hyuk’s Version Here!
Leo’s Version Here!
Ravi’s Version Here!
---------------------------------------------------------
See the little comics of you together he draws when bored
You and Ken were seated on the couch, doing your own thing. You were studying for your upcoming finals, while Ken was busy doodling something on one of your spare notebooks. Even so, you enjoyed the company since Ken would randomly tell a joke from time to time, causing you to burst out laughing. It somehow made studying less…dreadful. Ken always made everything feel better, after all.
After reading at least 20 pages of your biology book, you set it down and leaned against Ken’s shoulder. Smiling, he asked, “Done?”
You shrugged, “I’ve read at least 20 pages. I’ll continue later…or tomorrow.”
Ken chuckled. “What do you think?” he grinned as he showed you what he’d been doing.
You looked over to the notebook he was doodling on. There was a comic strip of a familiar event: Your birthday.
In the first panel, you were greeted by Ravi, Hongbin and Leo. You giggled at the expression Ken drew for you. In the second panel, N had arrived with a birthday cake, ready to celebrate with you. In the third panel, Hyuk came into the scene while pushing a gigantic yellow box wrapped with a blue ribbon. In the next panel, you opened the box, only to be surprised by Ken jumping out of it. In the final panel, the two of you shared a sweet birthday kiss. It was really touching and made you feel fluffy inside, but then as you looked closely at the last panel’s scene, you could see that the other members had their phones whipped out. You burst out laughing again. “Ok, that’s really sweet, Ken, but I don’t remember the other members taking pictures of us. I remember clearly that they were already eating the cake.”
Ken grinned and laughed with you. “Now, where’s the fun in that? I thought it was funnier if they were like paparazzi.”
Hear one of the dozens of nicknames he’s made for you
Ken continued to show you more of the comics he’s made, and every single one was such a heart-warming creation. Minutes later, he put the notebook down and looked directly at your eyes. “I’m hungry.”
You chuckled and stretched, body stiff from sitting for long hours, “Me too. Let’s get something to eat.”
“But,” Ken pouted, “your home-cooked meals are the best, Munchkin.”
You cringed but laughed at the same time upon hearing his nickname for you. In fact, he had a lot of rather random nicknames for you. He’d use a different one depending on his mood or the situation. “Well, I’m not really in the mood to cook, you know? I’m kinda lazy.” you sheepishly laughed.
Ken smiled softly, “It’s ok, Marshmallow. Anything you want is fine.”
Marshmallow. There’s another one. He usually uses that nickname when he wants a hug. Smiling, you snuggled against your boyfriend, and he hugged you tightly. “If you don’t feel like cooking, let’s go out and try something from the street market.”
You looked at him, “You mean the one with fried snacks and all?”
Ken nodded, “Bingo!”
“Yeah, let’s try that.” you declared.
You and Ken stood up and after getting ready, you two headed out.
Smell the street food as you walk around late at night hand in hand
Walking hand-in-hand, you took in the sight of so many stalls, each busy with numerous customers wanting to buy food. Ken was looking around with a big grin before turning to you. “Tell me if you see anything you want, ok?”
You nodded, “Alright.”
As you both wandered around, you could pick up the different scents and smells of the various food. You could smell meat being roasted or friend, and you could also smell something much sweeter. Whatever it was, it made your mouth water. “Ken, I think I found what I want.”
Ken said, “Lead the way!”
You led Ken to a nearby stall that sold dakkochi and odeng. “Good choice.” Ken joked around.
“I know. I make good choices.” you said, subtly looking into his eyes.
You thought Ken knew what you meant because his cheeks turned pink as he grinned widely. Shortly after, you and Ken were sitting on a nearby bench, enjoying the street food you had in hand. “This is so good!” you chuckled.
“True.” Ken said before taking a bite of the dakkochi. He continued after swallowing it, “But honestly, your cooking is still the best.”
“Flatterer.” you smirked and playfully hit his arm.
He let out a laugh in return.
Taste a kiss more serious than his words could ever be
After you two had finished your food, you both leaned back and started watching the people walking by. “That hit the spot.” Ken laughed.
You chuckled, “I agree. I don’t think I can eat anymore.”
“Well…I think I still can. Maybe later.” Ken winked, causing you to giggle.
“Eat as much as you want, Ken.” you looked at him and smiled.
Ken turned to face you as well. As soon as you both met each other’s gaze, you didn’t shy away; you kept your gazes locked onto each other. Ken spoke up, “You know, everything’s better with you, y/n. Something so simple as eating street food and laughing is the best because I’m with you.”
“So cheesy. Bean would cringe.” you joked.
But Ken didn’t burst out laughing. Instead, he flashed a gentle smile and brought one hand to the back of your neck. “Ken?” you blushed.
Before any of you could say anything else, Ken pressed his lips on yours. Without a second thought, you scooted closer to him and kissed back. Your lips moved tenderly in sync- a kiss so serious, you didn’t want to pull away.
But you had to eventually. When you both did, Ken’s playful, aegyo-self came back. “Better with you.” he repeated.
“Way better.” you replied.
You both started people-watching again, then Ken said, “Hey, there are other stalls here besides food vendors.” He looked at a stall that sold small toys and keychains.
You looked around and nodded, “There’s one with jewelries and accessories, too.”
“Let’s continue exploring!” he suggested, and you agreed, hopping to your feet.
Feel the tickle of the paintbrush as he uses your body as a canvas
Once again, you and Ken walked around the busy street peppered with all kinds of street vendors. Besides food stalls, there were stalls selling clothes, jewels, toys and even stalls that had activities like mini-carnival games and face-painting. It was like a carnival, actually. There was no denying it- you and Ken loved it. You both had wide grins as you roamed around. “Hey Ken.” you smiled, “wanna try the face-painting stall? I wanna paint something on your face.”
“Oh? Sure. Seems fun!” he laughed.
You two arrived at one stall and told the vendor that you’d like a face-paint. It was rather cool that there was an option wherein you could be the one who painted instead of the vendor. The lady vendor took our payment and handed you the brushes and paint. Ken sat down on a stool and smiled like an innocent child, “Make it cute,y/n~”
“I will.” you chuckled.
You started to paint on his right cheek, then proceeded to his left. Afterwards, you eyed your masterpiece and declared, “Perfect.”
The lady handed Ken a mirror. On his right cheek, there was a pastel-colored flower, and on the left, there was a cute puppy. He playfully gasped, “I am so adorable!”
“You bet you are.” you grinned.
Ken cutely puffed his cheeks and did his best aegyo, causing you to laugh even more. “My turn.” he smirked.
So, you sat on the stool and patiently waited for what Ken was going to do. He started to paint on your cheek as well. You weren’t worried, since Ken was actually good at drawing. However, Ken’s concentrated expression turned into a mischievous one. Seconds later, he stopped painting on your cheek, and you felt the paintbrush on the side of your neck. The combination of the fluffy brush and cold, wet paint surprised you. “Ah!” you squealed, “Ken!”
“No one said we were limited to the cheek~” he stuck his tongue out. “Don’t worry. It won’t be ugly.”
He stopped painting at that area, but then moved on to the area around your collarbone. Suddenly, you regretted wearing an off-shoulder blouse. You tried to contain your laughter as the paintbrush was tickling your skin. Ken used gentle and soft strokes, and somehow, it tickled more that way. He finally finished and proudly looked at his work of art. “I’d like to think that I did a very good job.” he laughed.
You looked at it using the mirror. On your cheek was a simple heart. On your neck was an elegant, red rose, and on your collarbone was a message: MINE.
“Ken,” you laughed, “how cheesy can you get?”
“Way cheesier.” he winked.
The two of you thanked the lady vendor and started to walk again. Ken looped an arm around your waist and pulled you closer. “You are mine, though, y/n.” he said as he looked at the painted message he made.
“I know. You’re mine as well, Ken.” you smiled.
Ken grinned before placing a kiss on the top of your head. You both continued to enjoy the night, wandering and roaming around the night market. Everything was better with him.

A lament for art
Look, the first thing I’m saying is that I’m not saying learning art in schools is bad. One can learn a lot there on anatomy, color, shapes ... I could go on. You learn a lot! You can profit so much! I learned, too!
BUT, and it’s a big but, I think my art suffered from it. More correctly, my motivation to do it, my own style that has been developing itself and my love for art have suffered greatly while I chose it as my subject.
Ranting follows
I’ve been looking at my older drawings, from my DeviantArt phase, earlier even. I look at it now and I feel like I lost so much. My progress has halted and at some parts even reverted. I unlearned art as I knew it while I was taking it in school. Again, this is not neccessairily a bad thing, but I personally suffered from it.
I was told my art style was “too manga-y” so many times. I have been criticized for bringing in a style of sketching I learned early on and worked with my rather short attention span. Of course, these are valid critiques, but in my case it was the death blow to my love of drawing. For a very long time, I only drew for school, forcibly tried to change what I did to please my teachers, to get good grades, to someday have the option of doing a profession with art later.
It didn’t work. It is my fault too, I gave up. I gave up because I saw that even if I gave it my all, I could never please those teachers who told me I had a few weeks to “unlearn this manga-thing you do and do some real art”. (By the way, even then it was more like a mix of comics, manga and a tiny bit of realism(? tbh I don’t know how to describe it in English) than just manga, but I digress)
I was taken to the back and told that I could not do this and not do that while being taught at the same time that art can literally be anything, even a pissoir settled up in an exhibition. A FUCKING PISSOIR! (tbh some modern art confuses the heck out of me. I can appreciate it, but honestly? I prefer the classical period. But this is my preference and a thing for another post)
Why? What do they have against it? I have no idea!
But let me tell you that if you tell a teen that they cannot draw how they like to draw it’s not an easy thing to take in. I am not talking about realistically drawing the mandatory fruit or person sitting on a chair, reading a book. I am not talking about learning new techniques, aquarell, gouache, oil, and so on. I am not talking about photography, about working with clay or papercraft.
I am talking about when they leave it open to us what method to chose. When they give a task, to be completed in this time, like portraying a saying in pictures. Like drawing a comic.
About halfway through all this, I lost my passion for drawing. I didn’t doodle in class anymore, or only seldom. It showed in the few doodles I did as well though, for example I did not draw faces for a long time. At home, instead of taking out my art supplies, I read or played games. All I could think of when I was taking my pencil in my hand was, that I couldn’t draw “my way” anymore, I had to learn the “correct” way.
And I tried. But there is something very simple that stayed in my way: If I would have still held a bit of love for it, I would propably had succeeded. But it had been leeched away too, the way something enjoyable is no longer fun when you need to do it everyday and under duress.
I wish I had not chosen it as my major subject. I wish I had taken something else instead and still worked to continue improving my art. I saw a lot of progress in a few years and where I stand now, I feel like I have to start again. The fact that it had only taken roughly two years to completely halt and undo all I did for years before seems just really sad for me.
This is a rant post and I agree that some of you reading this might think that I’m a tool, that I should have continued, that I should not complain about it. I agree! It’s a whiny post! I like to whine and complain! The thing is, art school was just a fraction of the reason I stopped doing art for a while. There’s other reasons, there’s a lot more.
However, I stand by what I said. Learning art in a school killed my passion for art. It killed my style, my love for it and my motivation.
Fuck you, teachers who told me I can’t do this and that. Fuck you.
On a more positive note, now I can do and draw what the hell I want. I’m going to. Nobody can stop me now. But it’ll take years before I unlearn this bad approach to art I had to adapt to.
I am going to try though. I feel for the first time that I might be able to.
#rant post#doku rambles#I have to add that I learned from art school#I learned a lot!#But I also took some very bad behaviour with me when it comes to how I approach art#I see my friends still loving art and continueing to thrive#and I am so happy for them! I'm glad they can do what they love!#It's amazing!#But here I am#unsatisfied with art SCARED at approaching it#It needs to change#This negativity cannot continue to be in my life anymore#this has been written on a feverish head late in the evening#so not everything might be logical and/or correctly spelled#but I still stand for what I said#I needed to write it down and send a fuck you to all who killed my passion for art#so yeah
