Thinking about the regular in the Idol Land discord who is a seasoned PriPara cosplayer & merch collector. They're strongly against pirating PriPara media and are a huge advocate for the Idol Land game. Yet they're on record saying they haven't finished the PriPara anime and won't because they didn't like it, and will get angry when people change the topic to other Pretty Series shows because they don't like them. Especially PriMagi, they're on record saying they wish PriMagi would die.

i think it's really disappointing how interesting and complex of a character yul could be instead of being a one-dimensional bigoted racist archetype used as comedic relief.

it would've been so much better if he were a commentary on how the entertainment industry can shape people into genuine horrible people because of the toxic work culture and serve as a contrast to james, who left the industry (or atleast isn't as involved) and how it let him grow as a person, while yul has to stay because he has no choice for other sources of income and how his bitterness and resentment only continues to grow and harbor into the man he is now. imagine if a huge part of his resentment towards james was because of jealousy that he was able to escape the industry, instead of just mostly being because he poisoned him with mushrooms last season. what if that's why he was so angry that james tried to lecture him because james has no clue what it's like for him and that he has the nerve to question him when he feels james had the privilege of being able to escape. he's angry that someone who could relate to his struggles now is just like everyone else; an outsider of how bad the workforce he's in is and he's truly alone again with nobody to confide in because he hates the only other person who can relate, grett.

his relationship with grett is implied to be forced upon him and this could've been so interesting to explore. in the first few episodes it seems like he has genuine moments with her. what if a part of him actually loved her because he finally has someone who can relate, but because he was forced into this position he sees her as his captor who is the embodiment of how he will never have the ability to make his own choices. they got the right idea when he's talking to james on the bike, where he says "when i win the 3 million, i'll never have to listen to anyone", but it's ruined when it's just chalked up to him being like "i dont want a fat girlfriend cuz shes ugly and im not". it could've been a commentary on how k-pop stars are often objectified by their fanbase and their employers and how little control they have in their lives, especially being recruited at a young age (WHICH IS LITERALLY STATED IN THE SHOW!!! WHEN HE SAID A VIDEO OF HIM DANCING BLEW UP!!) and the mental toll it has. he's so cruel to her because of his frustration with his situation and a want for her to leave, both using her as a punching bag for his lack of control while simultaneously trying to make her leave him as a way to regain the little control he has over himself.

the biggest flaw of yul's characterization is how his bigotry is NEVER called out. yes, the point is that he's SUPPOSED to be unlikable, but nobody ever says he's being racist and why it's wrong (besides gabby when she defends grett), they say it's to make us hate him more but if THESE THINGS AREN'T CALLED OUT, especially to their young fanbase of young teens, it comes across as just out-of-pocket "dark" humor that relies of shock value to make the audience laugh, which insinuates that it's okay. he's literally just saying bigoted shit for the sake of it. you can write an unlikable character without making him drop obscenities every moment he's on screen. it's bad writing and an easy opt out that takes little effort to write and has become normalized in the show, esp. considering how the spanish va of yul improvised a racist line (calling james a monkey) and how they just let it slide because "oh well it's in character". if your voice actor is randomly saying racist stuff that's not even in the script and you allow it to slide, your team has a serious problem.

there's so many characters that are intertwined with the entertainment industry (riya, james, grett, yul) and so many of the ideas are THERE but they aren't dived into and these characters end up being one-note as a result, like yul and riya. the best we can do is infer but that can only go so far. maybe i'm asking too much for a total drama inspired series to have complex writing and nuance, but if you want to differentiate and distance yourself from total drama (esp. when it prides it's writing as being more complex than total drama) maybe actually put some effort into making complex characters and not using them as a puppet to make bigoted remarks.

S1: The Birb's Feelings

(pt 1.5 for episode 7 and 2 for season 2 idk when cause shit's crazy rn)

Stolas is one of the most morally controversial characters in the show. With the show revolving around Blitz's relationships, it's natural that the show gives us the most information about him because he is arguably Blitz's most complicated relationship at the moment (I'm not going to include Barbie bc we've literally only seen her for like 5 minutes in one episode which isn't enough information). I wanted to do a quick overview of how I perceive Stolas's feelings throughout the duration of the show in sort of a timeline format

~Episodes 1, 2, 5~

So, at first, it's obvious Stolas doesn't really think of Blitz too romantically and mostly sexually. Ok, completely sexually. However, there's a reason why that people often overlook sometimes. Stella openly said in the season 2 premiere that the only time him and her had sex was to have Octavia. Man's literally been deprived of anything enjoyably sexual his whole life. So when he finally does have sex that's enjoyable for the first time, he naturally wants more of it

As we all know, Stolas isn't the most self aware king (or should I say prince) out there (which is okay; he's still growing and developing as a character). The way he treats Blitz in these first few episodes sort of gives off sex toy vibes. Obviously, this is where Blitz gets that mindset from, that all he is is just a toy for Stolas

But after seeing what Stolas' true personality is now, I highly doubt Stolas knew exactly how he was treating Blitz during this time. Again, self awareness issues. Natural part of his character that, after watching Viv's writing since the Hazbin pilot first released (yeah og right here), I'm positive will be developed on later in the show. So hold your horses people, we're just now 2 episodes away from only being halfway through with the show. Give it time, it'll happen

Anyways, Stolas isn't a bad person (I'll fight anyone over this take, dont play). But he does the wrong things with the right intentions. He treated Blitz the way he did in these first few episodes because Blitz was the first person he's ever enjoyed having sex with. It's a big deal to him as it sort of "awakened" him. I think he was so happy about the sex after around 35 years of nothing, he didn't fully realize how he was treating Blitz in the process

~Episode 6~

My favorite episode. Stolas shows up when I.M.P.'s sort of cornered by the agents and scares them shitless with his scawy big birb form. First he makes sure Blitz is okay, then he scolds him for getting caught. Almost like a mother who's mad but cares for their well-being (crying in ghostfuckers)

This may seem small to you guys, but for me this was when Stolas became my favorite character. Not only did this moment show he's more than just the cringy comedic horny relief, it also showed that he cared. Why would he ask if Blitz is okay if he didn't care about him? That has nothing to do with the book. If it got in possession of humans he could literally just kill them in like a second and take it back. Tbh (dont come after me pls) but before this episode I didn't like my first impression of Stolas. Despite the many takes calling the cringiness of his lines in the first few episodes "iconic", I hated it. It was just too much

And in this scene it's not just that he's asking in general, it's how gentle he's being with Blitz. Holding his face and speaking a bit softer with a caring expression on his face. I love it so much (aggghghhghghgahhaagh). I know his attitude changes after a few seconds, but still it was a nice moment that reshaped my perspective on his character for basically the rest of the show

what the title says i have thoughts in my brain and i want to share them

isafrin date thing pretty much immediately post-game: sif should get to be sick for at least a week. and the party fusses over them the whole time and it's adorable and then i think one night. sif should turn to isa and ask if he wants to hang out. hehe and sif brings isa to go look at the stars this time! and it's sort of like isa's friendquest but this time they are actually snuggling. and not just talking about isa, they're talking bout sif too some of the stuff isa says is reminiscent of the loops which freaks sif out a bit. but it just makes them happy to hear isabeau talk and he would share some things that happened in the loops-- wholesome things of course i think it'd still be a while before they opened up about the uh. the worse shit. but stuff like teaching bonnie to fight, finding out they were allergic to pineapple the hard way (isa would be freaked by this but sif finds it hilarious), maybe tell him about wish craft and color theory, the change god helping them out, bombing the king, etc etc. the nice stuff. AND THEN. I THINK THE ISA USING A SHOOTING STAR AS A DISTRACTION THING SHOULD HAPPEN-- BUT ITS REAL THIS TIME <3 like sif looks up and it's a whole freaking meteor shower... and isa tells them to make a wish, to which they respond "i'm not messing with that again for a looooong time" :)))) and i just think that should culminate in isa carrying a sleeping sif back to either the clocktower or the house, wherever the family has set up shop... njhgfcftyhujkuhgvfcdfty i love them they're so cute

LOOP THOUGHTS. i dont know if i am committing to this hc, but i think it would be cool if loop and siffrin became a system of sorts? i know very little about plurality so i dont really know what im talking about... if i get anything wrong please tell me! but ive got yet another scene in mind like right before the party leaves dormont to go pick up nille, sif visits the favor tree one last time. just. reminiscing. and mira would come along and find him and they'd have a talk! not specifically about loop, but loop would definitely come up in the conversation and then at some point sif says that loop mentioned that they'd be coming back and is like "i wonder when we'll see them again" and loop just screams HOW ABOUT RIGHT NOW and shoves siffrin out of front jhugtfcvfdxscfgthbnygvh i think loop should still get to have their own body and autonomy and stuff, i just think they should also be able to just show up in sif's head. and vice versa i think eventually sif figures out how to do it as well and they just get to constantly bother each other from a shared headspace dcgbnjuytfg

and. and then i think that can lead into a lot of sad wholesome moments where sif lets loop be siffrin for a little while. like the party is sitting around a campfire telling stories and being happy, sif notices loop hanging around in the headspace, and lets them drive for a bit. i dont think they'd do it very often or for super long or anything but. hgfcdxcfgybhnj. they should get to be siffrin every once in a while too. as time goes on and they become more of their own person they do it less and less, but for the first few months to a year or so it's comforting to be able to be surrounded by versions of their past family, if only for a bit as i said. i dont know what im talking about really so if i said anything badly or if any of these ideas are bad please let me know

time craft shenanigans i think sif (and loop) should get to keep time craft powers after the loops end not to like. the extreme that the loops were. but like how sif will loop back like five minutes if they screw something up socially-- i think they should get to keep that EXCEPT. the party learns to pick up on what time craft feels like. so if theyre ever talking to sif and boom weird time craft feeling and sif is in a wildly different emotional state they can just go "sif. did you loop back. what happened." i think it would be a good. like. starting therapy point? them having a toxic coping mechanism for when things go badly and the rest of the group helping him work through those situations instead of avoiding avoiding avoiding and i think loop should keep it for the memes (and trauma reasons. but mostly the memes.)

it would get better with time, as siffrin (and loop) gets more and more comfortable with being uncomfortable and messing up and learning to work through the anxiety and and and then that could lead to a big situation a few years in the future when the group splits up. and sif is TERRIFIED that the loops will start again i dont think the group would ever split up for good though. they're a family!!! they're not gonna just leave each other behind after another few months of traveling!!!! that just means all the suffering sif went through was for nothing!!!!! and yeah, they cant stay together forever. i know. but even after splitting up they'd still definitely have family reunions like every other tuesday

BUT SIF AND ISA NEVER SPLIT UP EVER. NOT EVEN FOR FIVE MINUTES they get bonded and go on to open a boutique/trinket shop <3

He loves taking you on dates,it could be any kind of dates,too fancy or a cute picnic.

Your first date were you two at night at the beach,you love the sea but because of the sun he cant go there until night,but to his surprise you were more than happy yo go at night.

A big smile is draw on his face,he feels at home when he sees you and he wish you feel the same towards him,he wants to be with you 24/7,even if its doing nothing,for him its perfect just the fact that you are near him.

Hates fighting but at the same time i think he can be a bit stubborn,however he knows how intimidating he can be so he would never raise his voice at you,arguments are calm and he have the patient of a saint.If you screan at him he will just stay there listening until you are done ,his expression is serious and he hates when you do it because its honestly hurt him.

He calls you by your name most of the time,he loves hearing your name and the way its rolls out of his tongue,however he knows how much humans likes pet names and he probably uses “love” too.

He doesnt mind if you have a pet name for him or not,but callim him “Fe” makes his dead heart beat.

He were on a mission in America,the moment they were done and almost heading to Volterra he smelled your scent,running to drain you as your blood smelled too nice,just to look deeply into your eyes and everything “clicked” in his head.

Kissing you its his number one favorite activity,however your neck its his favorite place to kiss,he loves to leave tender kisses there and it doesnt necessarily lead to anything more.

He took you with him,he gave you the option go if you wanted to,but you decided to stay with him so it was just perfect.

At first you did have your own room but it didnt take much to share room with him permanetly.

He is not too fond on kids and the idea of having a babie that could be easily crussed by him its not very entertaining.He does fantasize about having a family with you but that wont happen.

If he were also human he would totally 100% have a family,even a big one with you.

He doesnt talk much about his past because honestly he doesnt remember his human life,but he does share his private thoughts with you and expects you to do the same.

He is an open book to you,you are his mate and he doesnt have any secret keep to you.

If you dont open up to him its fine,but if something its really wrong and its clear that is bothering you he is not giving you the option to shut down,he needs to know.

P - Photos (what kind of photos you take of them/they take of you)

Dont understand technology because he doesnt know how to use a phone,i cant really see him taking photos of you with a phone,however he does have a camera and he hace plenty of pictures of you.

Does not like the idea of you having photos of him in your phone because if Aro finds out the anger of Aro will be direct to you and he does not want that.

Q - Quirks (what random habits do you have that they love or hate/vice versa)

He is fascinated by how your voice sound when you are excited about something,he already love the sound of your voice but hearing you so happy its really something else.

He can't get hurt,but i think vampires can get really tires mentally and he just need your cuddles,nothing more,he doesnt need a warm bath or anything,your warm against him its more than enough.

If you get hurt its really a different story,his eyes wide open looking at the injuries while screaming who the fuck did that.He will kill that person later that for sure but first he need to get you a doctor.

If the calm talk he tried to have with you didnt work,he will wait until the night,but keep in mind that he will not let his mate go upset to bed,he will lay with you even if you try to push him away,once you are in his arms there is no scape.Smothered in love.

Always,will feel his heart hurt if he does not at least have you around.He is not one for PDA but his arm is for sure on your back,guiding you if you two are walking.

How small you are in comparison to him.He knows everyone is smaller than him but never thought much about it.

But just the fact when you two interlaced your fingers and how small and tiny your hand feels,is something that really get him on his feelings.

He will literally pout,his eyes are looking at you intensely waiting for you to understand he wants your hugs and he wants them now.

hes a cat magnet. they just kinda congregat near him. there's an entire corner of the Liones' Castle courtyard with a tree that he goes to nap in that the cats of the castle all flock to so they can snuggle with him

Donny and Jade are the worst at messing with him about this, but Tristan can and will continue to always be the one he never realizes is pulling his leg about it until someone else realizes and messes with him about it

There is a specific something about hearing Gwen and Tristan saying "my boyfriend" about Lance that gets him all happy. It just makes him all fuzzy to know that two of the people he cares about most, care about him as much and that he gets to say they're his and he's theirs. He doesn't say pet names but if one of them calls him by one, he gets all bashful and huffy but he really adores it.

He's a little SHIT and gets huffy when Gwen and Tristan won't let him fight off their suitors at balls and shit. His solution is to be mean to everyone but them and be arm in arm with one of them as often as possible. He has to be physically stopped from growling at the people who keep trying to "introduce" their kids to them to try and start something Best part is him not realizing that people are also trying to set their kids up with him. Forgets him being a prince of a kingdom is a big deal, even if Benwick is technically a small kingdom at that point Lancelot being so confused by when Tristan and Gwen being huffy at people for trying to steal their boyfriend "Why are you two mad?" "That girl was throwing herself at you!" "She was not, she was talking a lot though." "Lance. She was flirting with you." "…. why would she do that??" "……" "Lancelot Benwick, you may the most oblivious person I know." they both know how to handle high society bullshit, but they know Lance doesn't so as fighty as he is about them having suitors, they're also antsy to fend off people who want to court Lance and he just never realizes cause they do it high society style by being politely mean

he's touch starved AND Touch adverse usually, but when it comes to the people closest to him (mostly a Gwen and Tristan, but applies to others like his parents and particularly Percy Platoon) he has a habit of reaching for pulse points. Just to feel some proper proof under his fingers that the person is real. (For Canon, its residual instincts from while he and Jericho were in that Chaos Realm. For Chaos Cult, it's because my man stresses so hard he starts seeing shit and has horrible nightmares. And Slice of Life AU, its leftover trauma from when he, Gwen Tristan and Nasiens got kidnapped, the moment that seperates SOL from CCK) Absolutely makes him accidentally seem really romantic and suave when he kisses Gwen or Tristan's wrist, will make them so flustered

Scares the shit out of several people regularly by reaching for the pulse point on the neck, no one ever gets used to it Ban is the only one who's safe from that cause hes so fuckin tall

In Canon universe, his canines are much longer than the average person, mostly because he tends to lean more wild than human. In Chaos Cult, all his teeth are noticeably sharper than a normal person's, which is entirely intentional on his end to be more threatening. Slice Of Life is the only universe where his teeth are almost entierly normal looking

He's bitey so in most universes, he will draw blood

Bans loyalty in family feuds (AKA Lance wants something and mom said no) can be bought over with promises to do stuff together. This has ranged from sparring, napping, reading (and then falling asleep halfway through book) and little father-son trips to other kingdoms

Despite his personal nonsense, his parents describe him as favoring the other. ask Ban and Lancelot is a momma's boy, Elaine would call him a daddy's boy

i genuinely do think that as Lancelot gets his head out of his ass and lets himself be more caring of the rest of the gang (Percy Platoon + Tristan Platoon) he gets such bad fucking anxiety that he's gonna inadvertently get them all killed. especially after Jade dies. He is, without a doubt or exaggeration, the strongest and most experienced of the group. He's the weird defacto leader regardless of anything people might argue on. Like?? Percy and Tristan both clearly tend to follow his lead and the Percy Platoon trust Lance pretty strongly. Tristan platoon do whatever Tristan says and i think as they get older Chion learns to chill his shit, especially regarding Lancelot.

The fucking pressure??! All of his friends- pretty much everyone he gives a shit about- would follow his lead if he were to be confident enough to decide to go straight after Arthur or to go to the heart of Camelot. sure, some people might weigh in opinions and other plans, but he's always been good about having plans and he can take on pretty much any Chaos Knight. So it become more "can he make the judgement of whether the others are ready for the fight to come" and whether he can protect them until then *And can you even imagine*

If he makes the wrong call, if he overestimates even one of them

the panic and desire to keep his friends safe could make him want to over prepare and wind up pushign the entire gang to take longer than they need to to go after Arthur, potentially winding up with someone having to decide to tell Lancelot he's over doing it- or *worse*

that they're running out of time that they have to act before there's nothing left to save, that they might've already lost so much

or EVEN WORSE, HE DECIDES NOT TO RISK THEM AT ALL AND DECIDES TO GO FIGHT ARTHUR ALONE

Eris POV

Most people don’t think of the spymaster of the Night Court as an avoidant person. In fact, when people do think of him it’s often when they’re committing a crime or sitting in shadows that look like they’re moving, or even seeing him on the street and finding him pretty.

Well Eris found the spymaster to be a very avoidant male. Yes, he was good looking and smart and the whole package. But Eris found he sucked and communicating. Not even in the normal way people sucked at communicating, in a way that he didn’t even try to talk about anything. All the spymaster did was kiss Eris’s weak spot until the heir gave in and stopped trying to make a half-decent conversation. 

Then again, Eris supposed one could defend Azriel’s actions. Considering their families, their past, the rejection of same sex relationships in the Autumn court, Beron, Morrigan, and every other little detail. 

However, none of that changed what had happened a few years ago at the solstice court meeting. The two of them had had a little too much to drink and got a little carried away. The night had ended with Azriel in Eris’s bed and the morning after the cold air from a very open balcony window had greeted Eris the moment he woke up. 

And still, a decade later, they hadn’t said a word about it. What they had done was fuck so much that Eris had found more new kinks he didn’t know about in ten years than he’d found in a century.

“What in the cauldren has you sighing every few seconds?” Eris blinked, his mother’s voice pulling him from his thoughts. Shit, he was still in the dining room eating dinner with his mother. Well, she was eating; his food was untouched.

“Sorry.” 

“What’s up with you?”

“Noth-.” He was cut off by a single raised brow that spoke volumes. “It's a romantic problem…”

His mother smiled. “With the shadowsinger, yes?”

Eris grunted in confirmation, choosing to not question how she knew about his so-called “relationship.”

“What’s wrong? Obvious problems excluded, of course.” Her words dragged a bitter smile to his lips as he thought of what he should say. He could tell her the truth and simultaneously put her in danger if anyone found out. Or he could lie. The fact that the choice he made came so easily concerned him to no end.

“He won’t talk unless it relates to court problems. All he wants to do when we’re alone is have sex.”

His mother grinned. “I never thought I’d see the day you complained about too much sex. Guess there’s a first time for everything.”

Eris grumbled something unintelligible and rolled his eyes.

“In all seriousness, find a time and place to talk. One where it’s too public to do anything but it’s just private enough to have a conversation. Also you need a reason he can’t leave. For example, if Rhysand assigned him to stay by your side and make sure you don’t do anything stupid. The best chance you’ll get to do this is at the annual solstice high lord meeting. Since everyone knows Beron won’t want to come considering it’s basically just a party… You’ll have to go in his stead and someone from each court will likely be watching you because nobody trusts the autumn court.“

Eris raised his hand, trying to stop the flow of information. “Perhaps, write it down?”

His mother chuckled. “Y’know I’m actually preparing you for your high lord duties. You really can’t be seen taking notes during a high lord meeting; it shows weakness.”

Eris rolled his eyes. “Stop teasing, we both know Beron doesn’t remember shit. He just does whatever he wants.”

“Yes, but you wish to be a better High Lord than him. Can’t do that if you copy him.”

“Well since I’ll be such a better high lord than Beron, it won’t be considered weak to take notes.”

His mother shook her head, a smile dancing on her lips.“I’ll write it down, but you just need to trust yourself.”

Eris said nothing. He knew he couldn’t trust himself around Azriel. It always led to him giving into the spymaster’s whim.

Az POV

“OY AZRIELLL!!”

He barely refrained from groaning as Cassian pulled the curtains aside and sunlight came streaming in.

“Go away.”

“BUT TODAY’S THE PARTYYYY!! YOU AGREED TO LET FEYRE, NESTA, AND ELAIN DRESS YOU UP IF YOU LOST AT CHESS. AND YOU LOSTTTTT!!”

“Because you all cheated.”

“You never said we couldn’t!” Cassian is practically singing as he dances around Azriel’s bed, trying to prod him awake.

Azriel groaned. “I’ll be up in 30. Now get out.”

Cassian pouted but ultimately decided to leave before Azriel could change his mind and argue that he would have won if they hadn’t fed him too many bottles of Rhysand’s expensive wine and cheated. 

Fifteen minutes later, Azriel warily dragged himself from bed. Normally, he would be fine, in fact he could be a morning bird. But all the wine he’d drank last night seemed to have caused a pounding headache that he doubted would get better.

He took a quick shower and dressed in casual black clothes before heading out. On his way to the River House he grabbed a pastry and jumped off a random balcony.

Letting himself freefall, Azriel’s thoughts wandered to forbidden territory. Eris would be at the party tonight. The fireling’s scent was ingrained in Azriel’s mind- smoke and crisp autumn leaves. 

Azriel sighed. He knew Eris wanted to talk, it was devastatingly obvious. The hurt that flashed in those amber eyes whenever Azriel brushed him off seemed an ever prominent companion in his day to day life. But it just wouldn’t work. Eris was going to be High Lord and Azriel was… well Azriel.

“He’s here!”

His high lady’s voice floated through the air, effectively cutting his thoughts short. He landed and glowered at Cassian.

“The party is at 8 in the evening.”

“Yes and?”

“It does not take twelve hours to get me ready.

Feyre cut in, “Of course it doesn’t. But do you really think we have things prepared? This bet was last minute and made drunkenly at around two am.”

“All the more reason we should agree to not do it.”

“Nope! Just an excuse to go shopping.”

Azriel groaned but a slight smile played on his lips, maybe he could use this distraction from Eris.

Eris POV

At precisely 8pm Eris and his advisors winnowed to the dawn court. Ever since that High Lord meeting during the war, the dawn court had been all the high lords preferred spot to meet. Eris wasn’t sure why but it was fine with him, just as long as nobody was in his court. 

They were greeted by a female that showed them to a dimly lit ballroom. Most of the other High Lord’s were already mingling and Eris spotted Vivian, Mor and Feyre. Azriel’s probably here then. Good.

Eris sighed, dismissing his advisors and heading for the food table. Picking up a skewer of grapefruit and some unidentified berries, Eris dove in. One could argue the only reason he came to these parties was for the food. More often than not, his first thought was complaining about the autumn court food. It wasn’t bad, in fact, Eris loved the spices and bold flavors, but after a few centuries, you occasionally long for something else.

Something refreshing. 

A light touch to his thigh urged him to pause his munching and look down. One if Azriel’s shadows was curled around his leg, seemingly looking up at him with puppy eyes. 

Eris suppressed a smile and looked around to find the shadowsinger already watching him from a dark corner. He did a double take, blinking in disbelief at what he saw. Azriel, the feared spymaster of the night court was wearing a light blue t-shirt and loose, frilly, white pants. And he looked good. Eris hesitated, grabbed another fruit skewer and headed his way.

“Fireling,” Azriel greeted, plucking the extra fruit skewer from his hand.

Eris made a sound of protest, mouth stuffed with food. “Was mine.” 

“You look like a toddler given access to his favorite candy store at these parties.”

Eris frowned, waving his hand, trying to get his rebuttal across without opening his mouth.

Azriel chuckled, biting into the stolen skewer. He groaned in satisfaction, gobbling down the rest of the skewer before Eris could finish his.

“What in the world are you wearing?”

“It was a bet.” Azriel waved his stick where fruit was seconds before. “These are good.”

“Did all that food just disappear?”

“It was good.”

“You’ve never had them before? These parties have been going on for a decade.”

“I’m usually too distracted by you.”

Eris chokes on his last piece of fruit. “Huh?”

Azriels lips twitched, “That wasn’t very heir like.” He tutts, wagging a finger. “The rumors seem to be true, you’re gonna be overthrown by a brother.”

Eris raises a brow. “Firstly, you cannot be talking, have you seen yourself in those clothes? Besides wouldn’t you miss me, beloved spymaster of the feared Night Court?” He leaned closer, lips almost brushing Azriel’s ear. “After all, you do seem to have taken a particular liking to me. Or shall I say, a liking to fu-”

Azriel clamped a hand over his mouth. “Not here,” he hisses.

“Where else then?” Eris sticks his tongue out, liking the scarred hand covering his mouth. “All you wanna do is fuck whenever we’re alone. So why not speak here? Your shadows can ensure nobody hears us.”

Azriel frowns. “I’ve been meaning to talk to you about that.” Eris raises a brow as if to say, do tell. “We should stop.”

“Excuse me?”

“It’s never going to work out and we don’t seem to have any special connection. It’s also a hassle since we’re from different courts and it really would be convenient for both of us if we stopped. Besides, if you really need pleasure that badly, there are some wonderful places across Prythian that could serve one’s needs.

Eris gawked at Azriel. His jaw was practically on the floor in shock and his body had gone slack. Azriel, the guy who never talked and always convinced Eris to fuck was the one calling off this ‘situantionship.’ Adding that the one time he did talk was to inform Eris of good pleasure houses. Well, sorry mother, guess you wrote that down for nothing.

“Right, like you weren’t the one practically leaping on me every time. But by all means, go ahead, end us. It’s not like anyone else will ever understand you like I do. And of course we aren’t mates because why would the mother put someone like you with someone like me.” Eris finishes his last sentence off with a growl, teeth bared.

Azriel’s brows twitch, “What is that supposed to mean? Am I not good enough for a future High Lord?”

Eris shakes his head, attempting to stop the sudden feeling of emptiness in his heart. He turned form the male and his bright clothes.

“Whatever Azriel. I’m done with you.”

Az POV

Okay, so he might have messed up. He’d basically called Eris not special and not worth the hassle. He’d also said he knew a lot of good pleasure houses, which wasn’t a lie, he did. But the male he’d been fucking for the past decade probably didn’t want to hear that, even though they hadn’t said they were exclusive. Not that that was an excuse. All in all, Azriel regretted everything. Especially since the moment the red-haired heir had left, a beautiful, deafening, snap, echoed in his ears. 

The other side of the bond was foggy which made Azriel assume Eris had absolutely no idea. Great. That was not helpful in his current position. What was he supposed to do? Go up to Eris and say, ‘by the way, we’re mates! Sorry for saying we have no special connection, could we reconcile?’

Azriel sighed, deciding to get a drink. He approached a rose-gold cup with a pink-tinged liquid inside. After sniffing it, he downed the drink in one gulp. The liquid fogged his head, making it hard to think. But it tasted good. Like the pumpkin spice lattes that Eris would sometimes give him. He hummed, going to grab another cup.

He stopped, a sudden realization settling in. He had taken the first cup, nobody else had drank one all night. He knew because Thesan always said that once a drink was out, it was out.  Azriel slowly looked up. People were watching him, eyes drilling into his skull. Shit. What the fuck was that drink?

‘Whatever Azriel. I’m done with you.’

Azriel’s head shot up. That was Eris’s voice, those were his words, his tone, his accent. It was Eris yet Eris wasn’t even in this room. 

What the fuck?

‘I’m done with you.’

Azriel hissed softly. This was bad. Hearing voices was a sure sign of 1. crazyiness, 2. in this case, a love potion, 3. being cursed. It was most likely the second option, which was definitely not ideal. 

A small crowd of onlookers gathered, seemingly waiting for a reaction.

Azriel’s shadows surrounded him, almost laughing at their master. He couldn’t even blame them if they took Eris’s side in this matter. Sure, Eris had said some horrible things but at the end of the day, Azriel was the one to start the whole situation to begin with. 

So he closed his eyes, and let his shadows control wherever he goes, just as long as it’s out of this damn room. 

The only thing?

He didn’t expect to land right on top of a half-asleep Eris Vanserra.

Until then have a great week." leaving your man's mouth as he gave him a friendly smile before taking your hand and going to the next stall,only for you to sheepishly wave goodbye to the shop keeper before going with your husband.

"Well, you gave him quite the scare back there." You said as you felt him squeeze your hand a bit tighter, the bustling of the array of people only increasing by minutes. "Someone had to correct his ways. It would help his sales but only if he's willing to take that advice seriously." he simply answered as he looked at the contents of the bag, counting the ingredients left to purchase.

"Well atleast we got ourselves more than we needed so we can go home and call it a day." "Who are you?" Chuckling at your surprised face out of the corner of his eyes, he continued to make his way towards the end of the market, to finally reach your car.

rambling about social cues and stuff

im in a weird state of understanding social cues where i conceptually understand some things but dont always get it in practice.

specifically with that kind of indirect communication thing where people state something randomly and expect you to do something about it. like someone saying "are you hungry?" and expecting me to understand that means they're hungry and/or that they wanna have a conversation about it.

partially this is just cuz i be saying shit and not expecting anything to be done about. so if i say "ugh i want the windows closed" I'm mostly just Saying Shit so it perplexes me a bit when someone gets huffy about having to close the windows. cuz in my mind its like well it'd be nice if they want to close the windows, but clearly i dont care enough to get up and do it myself so why are they acting like i'm being annoying and i told them to close the windows. do u get what i mean?

and since i do just be sayin shit sometimes i dont pick up on when people are trying to communicate with me. hence the "are you hungry" i might just say "what? no." and then either forget about it or take like 30 seconds to go "oh, are you hungry? why not just say that."

but even that, which would be my full understanding, is probably not the entirety of whats being communicated. i can basically only ever get to the "the other person is probably saying that because they are hungry" thing and not much further

the fact that i understand it CONCEPTUALLY also makes me feel dumb as rocks cuz if/when it's pointed out to me i'm not really sure what to say.

like if someone says "obviously i wanted to eat, why else would i ask randomly if you were hungry?" it's like ok. in retrospect that makes a lot of sense and i don't really have a rebuttable. but in the moment i'm assuming ur just saying that ur hungry and i presume you're gonna fix that on ur own or something.

so like i can write characters who use this to communicate with each other and i understand that its using context to signal to what you want or w/e but i also miss these a lot IRL cuz IRL i assume ppl just be sayin shit and will inform me if they want something from me.

this is made complicated by the fact that i WILL sometimes get this more indirect style of communication but only if its like. really obvious/exaggerated. like if someone said loudly "GEE it sure would be GREAT if the windows were closed right now!" I think i'd be like "i see you are doing a Bit like from Stories and you are doing this bit to signify that you want me to close the windows"

• He’s also the type to tell it like it is, sharing a bit of positivity here and there. It goes nice with your realism.

•He’s also very passionate and often hyperfixates on things! Like suicide for example. He wants to do a double suicide with you lmao.

• Dazai is a curious cat, and often likes to hear the gossip. He serves absolute cunt for that. The two of you love to share tea and learn tea from others too! Honestly, it’s probably the thing that got you two connected to each other at first, if Dazai didn’t already try to flirt with you.

• Instead of really going blank like you do, Dazai’s mind is constantly running and he’ll happily bring you back down to Earth if you need it. Simple daydreams he’ll let slide if you guys aren’t on any missions or something important.

• Most of his jokes are really funny, and theirs just other times he’s funny without even realizing it. He thinks you’re too adorable to not get a chuckle out of, and sometimes he’ll break down laughing if you say something out of left field. It’s hilarious!

• Dazai used to be a really strict guy, but nowadays he’s more chilled out. You wouldn’t need to go through that strict nonsense again. If you ever bring it up with Dazai, he’ll try even harder to be more of a good person. It just reminds him that where he is now is best.

• Kirishima would be best for you! Kaminari is a close second, though I figured he may be too silly for your liking.

• Now, I figure you’d be looking forward to having a villain for your match, however, you also said you wanted someone who you could relate and confide in. Almost all of the villains (except for maybe Toga) would not give a shit or understand why you need that shoulder to lean on. If any of them do care it’s most likely for a manipulative reason. I would’ve probably picked Toga if it weren’t for your preference. Hopefully that makes sense!

• You may bump heads with Kirishima from time to time, especially during times where Kirishima is way too nice. Not every relationship is perfect though, and from this he can possibly teach you to liven up sometimes, as much as you teach him to be more grounded.

• He’s a chill and lax guy, and will definitely help you calm down in any situation you need a hand on. He’s honestly the best at pep talk and lending a reassuring hand. As such, he’ll never get to exhausted will how many times you fall back down to the ground. He’ll always be there to get you back up again!

Sure it can distract from important things, but there’s worse things you could be doing. Especially during those times where you want to be occupied in your own world, Kirishima will give you space.

Fuck, I love these two.

Let's start from the top.

Gun and Goo might not always get on, often behaving more like a bickering old married couple one step away from throttling each other, but they absolutely respect one another.

Begrudgingly so. Meeting someone that can go toe to toe with them does not happen every day.

Being secret friends or successor though, is completely out of the question. They never even considered it in the first place despite Gun ticking most of Goo's criteria and vice versa.

Both completely unhinged and chaotic in very different, often clashing, ways. Finding each other grating, fighting skills complementing each other due to circumstance rather than naturally.

Gun thinks of Goo as a disloyal, flighty and greedy maniac. Whereas Goo sees Gun as a dull stick-in-the-mud who only cares about fighting.

They're both right.

Gun doesn't care much for material goods. He will still buy the best of the best, because why the hell not. However, he does not form any sentimental attachment to it.

Goo is surprisingly similar. Often preferring shopping sprees as a form of a power trip and to show off how rich he is. There is a fleeting thrill of buying something he wants, but ultimately it gets discarded.

Stealing Gun's things, on the other hand, much more rewarding for Goo.

The first time he laid eyes on Gun wearing the striped yellow shirt and scarf combo, Goo knew he had to have it. Besides, it would look much nicer on him, dont you think? What the hell is Gun Park doing wearing such bright colours anyway.

In all honesty, Gun doesn't waste enough energy on clothing to say anything when he saw Goo in his outfit. Although he did roll his eyes and take an extra long drag of his cigarette.

(A/N: I love the idea of Goo stealing Gun's clothes. But I tend to flip flop between how private Gun is, keeping his work and personal life completely separate. )

If the outfit isn't stolen, then it would mean Goo went out and bought the exact same thing... Which is funnier if you think about it.

Because the sheer amount of effort that that takes, finding the same top, same scarf - because why the fuck would Gun tell him where he got it even if Goo did ask.

The fact that Goo takes a significant time out of his day just to fuck with Gun. Truly, what an idiot. Does he have nothing better to do?

Spending so much time together, they pick up naturally on each other's likes and dislikes. Well, Gun does anyway. Goo does most of the talking, and the few times Gun does talk - Goo doesn't even bother to listen.

Unfortunately, that means if someone asked Gun what happened on the latest episode of an anime series, he would be able to recite exactly what Goo has told him, and then afterwards beat them up for asking in the first place.

There's a closeness there that disgusts them both equally with how well they know each other. Music preferences, how they take their coffee. Knowing each other's mood like their own. Ugh.

Life carries on though and there's still shit to do. WIth most of their waking moments spent together, they weave in their own errands between jobs and missions.

At least Goo does. Gun's life is much more orderly instead of a whirlwind of chaos. He is proactive and reactive whereas it appears to him that Goo will just fulfil his own whims as they come up.

Either way, Goo is the one driving and it's his car so Gun has no choice but to go with.

Well. Gun can stay in the car like some sort of pitiful dog awaiting their master's return or join in with Goo.

He usually opts for the latter, and also regrets it too. For example, getting cookies together for fuck's sake. Grabbing ice cream. Ring shopping!

Really, don't let anyone tell you that Gun is impatient. He puts up with far too much from his blonde partner. He can be extremely level headed, often choosing to walk away from things not worth his time rather than waste his energy. There's a lot of hill where he would prefer not to die on where Goo Kim is concerned.

If you asked Goo what was the one thing he hated most about Gun, the ensuing silence would be the longest he has ever been quiet for. Because there really is so much he hates about that fucking guy.

Just one? Then Goo would likely say the smoking. Not only does it stink, but the smell seeps into the car interior and lingers on everything. Goo often likes to pretend he's choking when Gun lights up. Putting on a coughing fit and spraying spittle everywhere until Gun walks away in disgust.

If you asked Gun what he hated most about Goo Kim? Completely deadpan and straight faced, he would say 'everything'.

my only issue with 1-3 is that from a doylist perspective the third mystery should not be this simple and from a watsonian perspective, taka being framed for hifumi's murder is a more logical conclusion than yasuhiro being framed for both murders. i dont have an issue with it being convoluted and i think it's good for her character for it to be but it really should have just been hifumi imo

anyways. I really do like Celeste and I love just how much fabrication she's done for herself. rejected her birth name and created a whole new identity for herself. huge to me how the money isnt her motivation. she's just always wanted to get out day one and was waiting for the right opportunity to get out of there. the probability of winning every single hand of poker is so low that i fully believe either her or hope's peak made that up. the most important person to her is her pet cat that she overfeeds. celestia <3

I totally hear you! I don't like chapter 3, but I definitely don't dislike it as much as others do. I reserve most of my animosity for chapter 2 lol.

On one hand, as a mystery itself, it's not that great. But on the other hand, I think the stupidity of the plan is just so Celestia. Taka being framed IS the more logical conclusion, it's what someone who's actually cunning would've done. However, Celestia tries SO hard to be interesting that she's basically feeding everybody else around her what they should think of her. She constantly paints herself as this intelligent, intimidating diva, when she's actually insanely lame lmao. She's an average ass girl who has a knack for spinning tall tales that people don't even believe. Makoto OFF RIP doesn't believe anything she's saying. People often group her in with Togami and Kyoko even though she's more akin to characters like Makoto and Mondo. She has stated outright that her "talent" is just luck.

This is a girl who has a flair for the dramatic and believes her luck will save her from any gamble. The fact that the murder plot really is style over substance with errors so glaring that they're mindboggling...idk it just seems really fitting. That's just me though lol

Also, I totally agree that her motivation wasn't only money. This is where I'm just kinda rambling and going into hard personal interpretation, but I honestly think she lost faith in the class by chapter 2. In the beginning of the game, SHE was the one who suggested the night time rule (which would've stopped both murders if people actually followed it). IIRC, she even made a really cruel and callous comment after Chihiro's death because she was annoyed Chihiro broke the nighttime rule. And then the self-proclaimed leader of the class mentally checks out. We already know she was silently freaking out the very second all ts started and that the adaptability shit was a facade, so this was probably her "yeah gotta go NOW" moment. The money was just an incentive.

IDK where to put this but this self-depreciation over being "ordinary" is such a common thing in the franchise.

Also idkkkk this is js me rambling but her talking about this "rank" she has of people in her head and then seeing her kiss Togami's ass in Chapter 2. EMBARRASSING. You embarrass me. I love her. She wants to be cool so badddd, she doesn't even like mentioning she likes Gyoza.

Honestly, I think she dismantled that little rank in her head during her time at HPA because this is the same guy she treated like shit. And they're both comfortably joking around. This larper thought she had what it takes to get out everybody POINT AND LAUGH. She even thought her DEATH was going to be interesting and instead it was a car crash. Like top 3 most common ways to die. Junko saw right through her. #FRAUD

Sorry this is a bit late, I had some events to attend the past few days..! And thanks!! It makes me happy to hear that you like my rambling :)

As for my thoughts on the other characters, I love most of them actually!! I love love love Sakura!!! I especially love how well her character is structured: through design, through her backstory, through daily life and relations and even how well her name suits her lmao. I really like how she has a background where she was really sick as a child (till we meet her), and how her being a miko, nurse and counsellor (she has three fucking jobs and I love it) has her help others since she knows how it's like to have problems (physically or psychologically). Sakura counselling might be my favorite bit though, just seeing how she helps guide mostly the students is really nice and I wish it was appreciated more. And don't get me started on how she is the perfect straight man to the craziness of the others. She was part of the craziness at first (from her intro to her earliest nurse days, Ataru straight manned instead), but it seemed like RT thought Sakura straight manning was much better while Ataru was cemented as the funny man in their dynamic and it suits them so well. The sane Sakura having to deal with everyone's BS (esp Ataru's) is my favourite thing lol. I also really like her relationship with Tsubame, him being the dumb to her smarts.(The remake plays down Tsubame's idiocy btw and it disappoints me so so much) They're that one couple we all ship without knowing it lmao. The chapters which focus on them are really nice, esp that one with the ghost girl who interfered with them and Sakura got super jealous lmao, it we interesting side to see from her and it was really fun :)

Oh shit, I rambled so much about Sakura, I forgor this ask wasn't just about her, I'm so sorry lmao, she is in my top three UY gals for a reason XD

I think up next in UY blorboism to me (who aren't main characters) would be Asuka. Idk, I just love her, she is so cute and so silly. I think what put her in the blorbo category specifically were these panels: one where Asuka made her own armor from a military tank or something idk and she looked so cute while wearing it!!!! And the second is from the arc where Asuka goes to school and she wears a pair of broken glasses in the final panel of the arc which looks super funny and silly XD

Asides from that, I love her voices, both of them!! They sound so soft and sweet!! And her shtick is very entertaining and chaotic, I love all her chapters!!

I think up next in terms underrated characters I love would be Benten and Oyuki. They both have personalities which bounce off well on other characters and especially each other. They're like my #1 Yuri ship in the series, but even in a platonic sense, they're dynamic is really good!! I need to draw them more, lol.

That's it for characters who I feel are widely underrated.. this post would be even longer if I talk about everyone in detail so I'll just speedrun my thoughts on the ones you mentioned plus a few others...

Ran and Ryu are two characters who I feel are really popular which is why I didn't mention them above. Ran's bipolar nature is so good and funny while her growing understanding and reconciling with Lum slowly is really sweet. Ryu is one of those characters who I wish was treated better because I feel like she deserves everything she wanted but her stupid father comes in the way. Ryunosuke's character is one of those things I wished was done better. Give her all the sailor suits, bras, swimsuits, skirts, etc. she wants!!

Cherry is really funny, like in a way he's basically Ryunosuke's dad but done so much better. The amount of moments where I've wheezed laughing cause of him is way too many too count. I like Kotatsu neko, he's cute and it's funny how he's one of the strongest characters!! Ryoko is another one I like because of how insane she is lmao and Inaba is so so sweet!! Meanwhile, Rei is hilarious and his cow form is so silly XD

I also really like Rupa and Carla too, Idk, the way they're supposed to mirror AtaLum and their crazy dynamic captivates me.

And I guess I'll stop here! There are others, but this is already super long so I'll end it here!!

i’m gonna apologize in advance for my lack of answer around “weakness” bc i dont see the likely traits as weaknesses per se, even if they are lolol even if they have caused conflict between them and i dont know how to explain why lol… i think bc those traits are a part of them just like any other and i feel like its their strong love that causes them to lash out which is… endearing and cute… LOL.

1. Reo: strength is amazing emotional resilience. he fell so hard but bounced back relatively quickly. great emotional reflection and insight, very very impressive to me fr. i’m a therapist so i work w reflection and insight often! its tough shit! esp when youre 17! weaknesssss… probably running his mouth when emotional and pushing nagi away when he rlly just wanted to keep him close but i love.., the drama of it all… LOL… mmm… reo’s denial of nagi’s feelings is also strong but he’s trying to protect himself. he’s truly just like me fr so i cannot judge him LOL. he’s a very beautiful and strong representation of human passion and just.. emotion. i love him a lot!

2. Nagi: strength is single minded devotion and determination even while finding himself during the journey to be the best in the world. i love that he’s sentimental about promises also, he’s very cute… both nare have a great gap moe thing going… weakness plot wise is definitely lack of a concrete ego and struggle to figure it out. but again insight is hard esp when ur 17! and had nobody in ur life before. he’s my favorite chara and feels relatable in the sense of uhhh listless and depressive experiences but rlly loving someone a lot regardless and that love being motivation to live well. he ofc also lashed out at reo and struggled to communicate but i count this as a mutual conflict more so than a holistic personal weakness… he seems to be doing his best to improve as much as he can w his limited insight (like trying to praise reo more) i know ppl often like to take sides in their conflict so i will say i do not believe in choosing a side between them lol. but ive seen nagi get way too much blame so that upsets me more. i know reo blame is out there but i somehow havent seen it as much. i dont think either should be blamed for mutual misunderstanding.

3. Dynamic: oh gosh what dont i love hahah… i just talked abt this in another ask but i love their devotion to each other, the strength of their bond - even if it wavers they cant break it, they cant help but love and need each other… truly spring of youth first love etc etc. theyve gone thru sm! adorable hakuho era, divorce arc, and now reunion… their trajectory is fascinating and they truly fit sm of my favorite tropes lol. also love that theyre silly together and best friends and each others first friends..!!! wails. theyre so cute. and messy LOL but idk that’s fun and they dont seem like, uniquely messy compared to other 17 yr olds. theyre a great snapshot of young love HAHA (i say this affectionately as a former Messy Teenager in Love… i adore them)

4. Canon moments: THE WAIST GRAB + “I’M REO’S PARTNER” SHAHSKSKS that solidified my obsession w them! also “ive always been with you” and nagi running at the sight of reo’s sad face and trying for the first time… those are my top 3! but i lose my mind with every new episode nagi internal monologue looool ch 29 KILLED ME i havent recovered yet nagi is so down bad for his wife… i am seeing now that my top 3 are nagi @ reo moments… oops. what can i say i love a wifeguy!

5. HCs: hmmm this is hard bc i feel like… i dont have a lot… if i want them to do smthn it usually ends up as a fic detail, so im not sure if i have any concrete universal ones besides 1) they get more plants and pets when theyre older. i have two cats im VERY biased so either two cats, or one cat and one dog. cat for nagi dog for reo :) oh individually… i like the idea of reo with beauty marks, both of them with sunspots/freckles… nagi with bunny teeth. :’) sorry if this isnt a lot 😭😭😭 im not a big hc girly but i like spinning ideas with friends about little AUs and what they would do in those AUs so i think that is probably specific headcannoning? but feels like universally canon nare-related… unsure how to explain sorry 😭

6. Other ships: Most similar is probably Reki/Langa from SK8. I like Renga but they’re not my favorite simply bc I’m content with their canon storyline and don’t feel the need to explore them further… but theyre very cute and have the friends/talent comparison/misunderstanding/loss of priority/interest to “better competition”/sport anime flavor of gaaaay going on LOL. I also like Gabimaru/Yui from Hell’s Paradise but that is… less concretely similar lol. More like vibes of 1) fluffy white haired guy who was empty inside until He Fell for His Wife and 2) cute, sweet wife who teaches guy how to Live… precious. i love gabiyui a lot and had to disqualify them from top 7 only bc theres not muuuuch abt them that we get to see but what we see is AMAZING and PERFECT and i would die for a gabiyui domestic happiness spinoff plsplspslspsl hshzhksms and ofc their marriage is the driving motivation for gabimaru in the story…!! Newly into DanDaDan but I think you could spin nagireo as momokarun… but also less concretely… but very fun best friends x dynamic duo x sweet teenage love with a little misunderstanding vibes there :)
