I simply can't stop thinking about Barbatos being insanely attracted and so deeply in love with MC that he don't make the effort to hide it anymore, but the problem is: MC doesn't actually think that he feels that way.

(I'm using female pronouns for better explanation, pardon my english 😔🫶)

Like, MC lives with many ancient and immortal beings who have lived for many many centuries and she is only a human who lived for a few years. In mc's conception, she doesn't see a reason why any of them would be attracted to mc in any way, so she just lives peacefully with them, not really expecting any romantic approach.

Mc and barbatos have a friendship, and mc is attracted to Barbatos (who isn't really?), but doesn't do anything about it. Kinda like the attraction you feel towards your favorite idol, you don't really make a move, but you wish you could get married.

Barbatos notices and kinda feels the same way, sending discreet signals when they were together. He finds it strange, because he sees her obvious interest in him, but doesn't do anything about it.

As time passes, Barbs feelings grow stronger and he grows frustrated and is determined to show MC his interest, his discreet moves now are obvious (only when they were alone bc its barb, cmon). When mc is talking he is just staring at her with such lovestruck eyes, blinking slowly and repliying to her in a flirty way. Mc only grows more and more flustered, not making any moves still.

It gets worse in a degree that once barbatos corners her against a wall and stares deeply at her soul, saying something bluntly urging her to do something since he knew she wasnt oblivious to the situation. Maybe in a teasing way, maybe serious.

I dont know if my ideas came out clear and I honestly think I'm a little lightheaded bc of anti-allergy meds, but this plot has been haunting my mind and I had to tell someone. Stay safe!! 🫶🫶🫶

Hi there, anon! While I'm a little concerned about medications making you lightheaded (like omg please rest and I hope you feel better soon!), I do think I understand what you're trying to say!

Because ahhh Barbatos he's so reserved. When I wrote my long fic, there's kind of a theme where the MC character doesn't believe that Barbatos returns their feelings. It's the cause of much angst and anguish, especially in the later chapters.

I think this is because Barbatos doesn't really express his feelings all that much. He's always calm and collected. He doesn't really get worked up about much of anything. Even when he's mad, it's like hidden behind a smile. The only time we really see him get truly angry is with Solomon in Nightbringer. (I mean there may have been other times but that's the only time I can remember.)

Anyway, I love the idea that he finally picks up on MC's feelings and realizes he has to start being more expressive with his own feelings. I kinda think he might realize that he only has so much time with MC, assuming they're still mortal. Like he's gonna hafta do something because time is short!

I personally am very fond of Barb being a tease, so I like the idea of him kinda teasing MC about it at first. But eventually he's going to get serious. If he thought MC really didn't understand how he feels and wasn't picking up on his teasing and maybe couldn't respond for some reason, he would choose to get serious and direct with them.

So yes, I think this is a delightful scenario and I am always rooting for Barbatos to confess his true love to MC lol!

I also love how everyone is different in the Hamefura timeline compared to the Fortune Lover timeline 😁.

I particularly find Keith and Mary's changes very amusing.

Keith went from a playboy to the most innocent boy, and I love that big contrast. When you switch from Hamefura to verge of doom, he always feels so fresh. And I love both versions of him.

I also love Mary's transformation, from a loving fiancee who just wanted to support the one she loved, to an assertive, proactive, cunning and charismatic woman. I really felt bad for Mary in Fortune Lover and I love how strong she has become in the Hamefura timeline. Seeing her boss Alan around feels like revenge from the bad treatment she got in Fortune Lover.

I also love Alan's change, though it is not because I find it amusing, but more because he is such a better person in the Hamefura timeline. In Fortune Lover he was a jerk who only cared about beating Geordo and he openly cheated on Mary despite all her support. In the Hamefura timeline, he is so chill and won't let anyone provoke him so easily. He may let Mary boss him around but I'd like to believe it is more because he cares about her and wants to support her than because he is scared of her. I also especially love how he is man enough not to be the slightest bit upset when Geordo calls him "whipped" and just matter-of-factly tells him that he and Mary have their own relationship.

As for Geordo, sure, he went from a blackhearted prince from a complete simp who doesn't care about looking cool anymore and will stay on the lookout in a place where Katarina is supposed to go, but I find his change more endearing than amusing. After reading the LN11 SS about his childhood, we can see that Katarina had enabled him to care about people.

I love how Sophia is so free-spirited in the Hamefura timeline thanks to Katarina's influence and how Maria didn't end up becoming someone who only cared about being liked no matter the consequences. Though for Nicol, while it is a good thing that he is happy in the Hamefura timeline, I loved how he allowed himself to romance the one he loved in the Fortune Lover timeline.

The 'moving forward' ness of zukka in liab is so nicely written. Like ive been reading liab since (almost) the beginning and it has been a ride and its starting to feel more conclusive and that is SCARY but its also nice because you write it very well and i adore the way you write trauma and the healing of it and the ups and downs and the two steps forward two steps backness. Its very lovely.

I knew ara was going to have a suicide attempt (esque situation (idk if that counts)) i called it i win.

Idc what others say ara will always be amazing. I love her character SO MUCH

i feel like you can always tell the strengths of a writer in the way they write complicated characters and the way you write ara is very telling of that. Like the fragility and also harshness used for her is very realistic and i always enjoy her parts so much.

Like her deciding to move on independant of how zuko or sokka feel about it is and regardless of whether people thinks she 'deserves it' is immaculate.

And thats a good example on your specific strengths as the author of liab (being able to handle delicate situations well, and realistically and make them very thought out and not rushed, stuff like that).

But her 'i need to start getting along with other girls' is great because like,, RHATS SO TRUE. she is genuienlly one of my favorite characters of all time, i could write essays on why i love her. Exquisite.

behold, all art of wit i have including one i havent posted here bc i never actually finished it and the wip of him being a silly giggly boy. pls know i came up with him like MAYBE a month ago. two, tops.

SO wit is actually a what-if au of another oc of mine, his name is doodle. doodle (seen below) is a very robin-hood-esque oc, honorable thief and kindhearted, swashbuckler rogue that dual wields rapiers bc hes insane. but hes insane in like a normal way. he was a horrible child but he did grow out of it and its rare to see him w his hair down so pardon me making him look absurdly pretty in that one.

as you can see there are some (but not MANY) differences between the two. kid wit does have the starry hands/peets im just forgetful dont @ me about it djdjdj

ANYWAYS so the what-if of the au that wit is, essentially, little singular things didn't happen to people in that au world. it goes like so;

wit: never met his childhood best friend when he was a freshly injured orphan. was alone from the (elf) ages of 0-16. ended up studying magic (illusion wizard) since he didn't have someone to lean on for that sort of thing.

laika (wit's mom): never truly broke out of an archfey's madness curse. stuck with a very twisted version of the spell Tasha's Hideous Laughter burned into her mind. everything is funny and if it's scary? even funnier. she died briefly. shes back now, but still madnessed.

perseverance (wit's dad): never saved his mother from a death blow in the be-all end-all fight to save his home. was held back by someone who he thought was a friend, killed that person and then ultimately spiralled so hard that he became a lich. may or may not have accidentally killed laika.

something something one decision can change your whole life, me and my friend loved playing with that concept.

okay now that you know a lil lore/history i can dive into what wit is like.

as a kid (drawn with the short megafloofy hair) he's very mischievous and bastardly, almost always smiling or grinning but it's more to lean into the uncanny valley effect his eyes cause than out of any actual joy or anything. he doesn't Blink and he knows it unnerves people because he also has a freakishly high insight (i think its like a +9 or smth??? at level 9??). he loves to come up with fucked up spells, like. for example i saw a silly post on here the other day that was very jokingly having a wizard cast a spell of "10000 bricks until you die" but then i was immediately aware wit would (1) come up with that spell, make it functional, and have it unfortunately obliterate everyone that gets hit with it, and (2) he would call it Wit's Bricks which i think is fuckin funny. he would also come up with spells of like. cause heatstroke. boil all fluid in your body. FREEZE all fluid in your body. he's a little freak with extremely low empathy for those he isn't connected to with blood ties. that said, he's kind to his family (albeit very blunt and will call them out if theyre being stupid) and inquisitive. he DID look his dad in the eye when he met him for the first time and went "are you dead?" which. again, hilarious, but BRUTALLY blunt. he then called his dad cool because yes his dad is now a lich and therefore undead. he's a little freak but he's still a kid and that is ultimately his saving grace, what small child isn't a little freak.

as an adult (long ponytail) i get a feel of him being aro and using romance as a way to manipulate people. he's definitely still not a good person and far more stoic than he was as a child. also he most definitely maintains a constant illusion to make it seem like his eyes are always closed, which lends an air of mystery to the strange elf that seems to always be standing right behind every throne in every kingdom of faerun. i say this because i like to think he would become what's called a King's Wit, which is like a combo of royal advisor, court mage, and "guy the regent has insult other nobility since insults are beneath the reigning royal". he uses all of that to his advantage, gaining the ear and trust of every single person of noble blood that is part of any royal or ruling court, and he will bend and twist their choices so subtly that they won't realise he led them to ruin until it's already too late. which is his ultimate plan. he's STILL somewhat a robin hood style of character, but he takes it a bit further and with far less kindness to the nobility. he guts their coffers completely and every hoarded coin down to the last copper inevitably will land its way conveniently into the lap of the common folk. he does take a healthy chunk for himself - did you know being a wizard was EXPENSIVE in dnd btw? i didnt until i made wit - but most of it is for the local citizens. he does this everywhere he goes if he sees that it needs to happen. fucker topples kingdoms For Fun, because he never gets caught or credited with the ruin he leaves behind himself. he's awful. he probably still comes up with fucked up spells and he manipulates his way into wherever he wants to be. i love him.

behold! @polterpumpkin drew my (not very) little guy for me! this is part of a greater set but this is the fully coloured one and arguably my fave bc it captures the absolute batshit energy ruby brings to the table.

ruby is a tiefling that was born in a lab. voluntarily, his parents participated in a sort of study that wanted to eval why it is tieflings could be born to non-tiefling parents. (both his parents are half-orcs, interestingly!) he participated in it up to a certain point, before he got sick of being poked and prodded and Watched. that's when he demanded to be released and, when he wasn't, both his parents helped him escape, unfortunately leaving his other two tiefling-born siblings behind in the process. both parents Died helping him escape, and he was embittered as is by the whole study bs, and then to have his parents die Saving him? it left him with this sort of hole he didn't know how to feel.

so he fills that hole with every vice he finds agreeable. he drinks, he fights, and he drinks again. he's a drunken monk, and one full of unbridled rage and a death wish. he isn't my happiest oc but he isn't my worst off (that would be talisman bloodhunter). he's constantly seeking a grand and worthy cause to die for, literally. he's a wannabe martyr, because he doesn't think he has anything to live for. no lovers, no friends, no allies, MAYBE a coworker or two on the occasion he's needed (he is so not needed most of the time, because it isn't often any job needs an angry monk tief to glare around the place). he has just those two sides to himself - party animal and underground drunk brawler - because he doesn't want to think about the pain underneath them both. he's tragic in a very human way, hilariously enough, but he's not a bad person. even if he's being dragged by the tail to do a job, he's ultimately going to be helpful and he ALWAYS keeps his team alive. he'll grumble about it but he'll do it, and if you thank him he brushes it off, muttering something or other about how it's just his job, don't Thank him for that. i think having a friend would Fix him but fuck if i know what would get past his thick skin 😔

i dont get to play or write ruby really, not for any specific reason other than the dnd games im in have been going for So long, and that i havent really been super inspired to write him. but i love him! literally my car is named after him! i have so many feelings for him and i hope one day i get to play/write him so he can be more fleshed out.

i got into topgun in a very roundabout way actually, my mom's a huge tom cruise fan and insisted we watch tgm in theaters when it came out since she watched tg86 in theaters when that came out. we watched tg86 before watching tgm and i was like "yeah its good whatever lol" (meanwhile my mom was sobbing the entire last thirty minutes of tgm)

i didn't really get into topgun properly until january this year when my mom (again) randomly put it on the tv cuz we were all bored and i watched up until the dagger bar scene and something in my brain clicked and i was like "oh it's time to not be normal about this series" and here i am ten months later.

i dont wanna make this too sad but i was also going thru a period of heavy grief after losing a family member and i think the way tg86 and tgm portray grief is very visceral and relatable and i latched onto that, especially after rewatching tgm with all the goose and ice talk. it was a nice way to cope a little bit.

But im really motherly and caring! Im a good balance of childish and mature, though i fall more on the childish side! I honestly give out 'sad, wet cat' vibes at first, since i mostly spend time alone, sulking abt being alone, reading in the library alone.. but im the total opposite! 🦐 The way your mood fluctuates matches how his does, and while it annoyed him at first (like, is this how Jade and Azul feel when his does that?), he was able to quickly find out what can set you off or change your mood and is able to quickly adjust accordingly. magic! arha is very fucking good with magic. she can do lots of little things with it she's very creative and clever about it. i've mentioned this before i think but she refills her magic gauge by eating berries and other such fruit so her magic is pretty explosive even tho she can only use it in small bursts and she makes the most out of it

other than that she is very good at acting like she knows something u dont even when she's out of her depth. it's jsut her natural disposition gives off a very fox-like air lol

good question! back in 2018 when i first started drafting this story i was listing out all the types of characters i wanted to appear in this thing and that includes some sort of pirate character, so i came up with what would eventually become arha. which is really really really fucking funny cause arha is nowhere near a pirate/sailor nowadays but that is how she started!

14 just gets those puppy eyes and itches his arm, gently kicks the ground and is like "..okay.. I guess ill leave you gals alone now....Are you absolutely SURE you dont want me too-"

"No doctor! We're alright with nail paint :) thanks much."

"Alright..."

Her friend just looks at her like "Aww rose we gotta. Look how sad he is."

"What? No he does that all the time."

"But rose we could give him a make over. 😏"

And she rolls hed eyes and goes "ugh Fiiinnnee!! But you're getting a FULL make over! Nails, hair, make up! The works!"

INSTANTLY, he sits down all smiley with his legs crossed, takes his coat off and very giggly gets his nails done, and an EXTREMLY bright eyeshadow and lipstick that is probably not his color, hair done up in bows, nails all different shades and not a single moment has he stopped smiling.

Eventually Donna comes in like "Alright girls its- OI!! I thought I told you this was the GIRLS' sleep over? Huh?"

He looks at her with the 🥺😔 knowing he's gonna get kicked out and scolded. But Rose says to her mother, "It's alright. We're all girls here, mum :)"

The Doctor feels extremely loved. Who knew all it would take to feel accepted is getting hot pink eye shadow and bow clips.

He did infact sleep on the floor that night, almost beating the hell out of Shaun, who came to check on his daughter in the middle of the night. These girls were the safest in the entire galaxy and the dark, serious look on his face said possibly the universe.

Shaun has never seen him so angry and solider like before, watching his every move even after the Doctor did recognize him.

In the morning, when he pulled that nonsense with Donna, she shouted at him that he didn't scare her and he settled down right quick, embarrassed by his gaurd dog behavior.

the doctor being a part of the noble family has the energy of an addams family cousin -- imagines rose being in a school play and the doctor fixing up some gizmo to open up a tiny gap to some part of the universe where stars shine particularly brightly for midsummer night's dream, and accidentally almost levels the school by misjudging how close they are to this one very dense planet (people in the audience confusedly waving at aliens who are just as confusedly waving their tentacles back from a thousand years in the future a million light years away. everybody afterwards talks about the great special effects, but they're not sure what it has to do with the story)

people trying to figure out who this "the doctor" person is and why he's living with the nobles, and always trying to catch out that there's something going on, but the doctor's answers to all their inquiries are so lowkey bonkers as to bamboozle any further attempts (so where are you from again? oh just this place, well, I say place, planet, well, I say planet I don't actually know these days, but somewhere certainly... is Ipswich a place? how do you know mrs noble again? we travelled together for a bit, and then, well you know how it is when you get hit with a face full of radiation, ey *snort-laughs at his own joke* and what's your name again? doctor, the "the" is a pronoun, it can get confusing I know, but people on this planet choose their names all the time, you'll catch up)

just this house gremlin in a setup that nobody from the outside understands, toddling about, showing up at every event that rose has going for her, wearing little pride pins that might be partially for himself as well as for rose (gay??? one of those trans ones????), always seems to be talking about strange places that nobody has heard of but doesn't want to admit to, occasionally goes eerily still and unnerving around people who are cruel and mean, knows a lot about history, but peppers it with facts that can't possibly be true, gets on very well with shaun who always answers questions with "the doctor's part of the family, youknow?" they do not know, but at this point it's too rude to keep asking

hello🙃 I read cold hands when it dropped and kept thinking about sending you an ask about it but it just kept slipping my mind for some reason. Again I wanna tell you just how cinematic your writing is. Idk how you do it but the whole story played in my mind like a movie🤌🏻 it also reminded me of 500 days of summer😲 except that in cold hands they just don’t communicate properly but the story vaguely feels like the movie in the way both mc and sunghoon introspect. I couldn’t read the smut on my first read cause it felt like I was walking in on something😳 so I came back to read it afterwards. But they are genuinely so cute and the way you write them made me feel so sad for them not being able to love the other without the crippling doubts. It’s genuinely one of the best stories I’ve ever read. I love your writing so much. It feels like an event whenever you post a story. You have no idea of how happy your writing and stories make me…even though I know I’m gonna be sobbing reading them😔 The pov switch was saur good😩 The fact that you spend this journey with sunghoon and his thoughts and they just seem to make sense. But then you switch to mc’s thoughts and pov of the whole story and you really get a sense of the bigger picture. You can tell they care for the other and that’s what makes you feel for them. And the ways you depicted their relationship was so cute but then in the back of your mind, you have to remind yourself that they’re not actually dating and it breaks you a little. Aaah your brain😩 This aspect of the story also kinda reminds me of the movie, especially the part where Tom talks about everything he likes about Summer. It’s so interesting how you can make a story feel like a movie. I genuinely think it’s a signature of sorts for you and I look forward to experiencing it each and every time.
