Putting it all under a read more because spoilers for a lot of major plot points in solar flare. If you dont wanna be spoiled dont look

You have been warned :)

The first thing Ghost would think is "How the shell are these kids not dead?" Because the turtles are absolute DANGER MAGNETS

These absolute idiots, on their first night being on the surface:

FOUGHT THE GODDAMN SHREDDER

NEARLY GOT KILLED BY THE SHREDDER

Got sent to the Spirit Realm

Got attacked by angry spirits

Accidentally CURSED themselves by messing with something they were absolutely not supposed to mess with

Barely escaped the Spirit Realm, now fully cursed

Accidently UNLEASHED dozens of angry spirits into New York

And to make matters worse they got discovered followed back home by a HUMAN (April)

That was NIGHT ONE

Ghost and his brothers were lucky, they only fought Mousers and the Purple Dragons on their first night

And it only gets worse

That curse I mentioned, it has pros and cons. The pros being that it can turn the boys into literal shadows, enhance their strength and speed, make them near completely invulnerable to attack, actually let them attack the previously untouchable spirits, (let then turn into giant shadow monsters), etc. The CONS on the other hand is that the curse is slowly KILLING THEM. Draining more and more of their energy, breaking their bodies a little more each time. And the more that the cool shadow abilities are used the faster the effects are, the worse they'll get and the longer they'll last. Yeah. Ghost would absolutely not have a good time with that. (And would most definitely devote as much time as he could to trying to create a cure or at least find a way to lessen the side effects)

Anyways then theres the matter of the Spirits running loose, very strong, very angry vengeful spirits. That cant be knocked out or killed, they have to be banished back to the Spirit Realm. Which is not at all an easy task. (And considering that the boys will at one point spend an entire WEEK fighting those ghostly fucks practically nonstop to the point that they dont even go back to the lair until they are literally about to pass out from sheer exhaustion...yeah not fun. Ghost might have to carry them all back home) And there's also the Shredder and his growing army of goons causing trouble. Point is Ghost is gonna have a REALLY hard time keeping the kids from constantly fighting for their lives against incredibly strong enemies instead of actually being kids. Poor Ghost

The constant stress and fear along is definitely straining the boys' relationships with each other.

Especially between Leo and Raph. The two closest siblings of the family. The ones that said they were twins and stood by that for their entire lives.

And now they're arguing practically all the time. Cant even go one mission without at least one argument. Leo making reckless plans thinking they'll work perfectly fine then panicking when things inevitably go south and Raph getting angry at him for "screwing up" only because Raph is absolutely TERRIFIED. And Ghost trying to be the mediator, but its hard when you have two incredibly stubborn sixteen year old boys at each other's throats. (Ghost is reminded of the many many Raph-Leo fights that his own Raphael and Leonardo used to have. Only somehow, these are worse.) It just escalates and escalates further and further until one night.

When Raph and Leo actually FIGHT each other.

And it ends when Raph full on quits the team and leaves. Leaves Leo alone on that rooftop, in the pouring rain. (Ghost will never forget that shocked, borderline horrified look on Leo's face as the reality and the guilt over what just happened sets in)

Raph doesnt come home.

Ghost thought he just needed time to cool off but he still doesnt come home. It gets to the point that he tracks the red clad turtle down.

Only to find him in the Footclan headquarters.

Raph had joined the Footclan because he was so tired of the fighting, the arguing.

(Obviously Ghost would go over there to try and break Raph out by any means necessary, even when Raph refuses to leave. He didnt want to join his family's biggest enemies but he was angry when he said yes and now he thinks he's in too deep to leave, even despite Ghost's attempts to reason with him)

Which leads to Leo to do something really, really, really stupid. Not saying what because major spoilers but it ends with him willingly offering himself up to be taken to another dimension in exchange for his family being spared the same fate.

What would happen to him there? Ghost doesnt know.

But that swirling white portal, his child being handcuffed and pushed through despite how hard everyone, Ghost included, is begging for this not to happen, no matter how hard he fights against his own restraints he cant free himself, it breaks something inside him.

All he can do is watch helplessly as Leo disappears into a portal, just like he did when he was sixteen himself, presumably to never be seen again.

Leo is gone for an entire month.

An entire of Ghost obsessively working on the portal with Donnie, trying so so hard to get it to work so they can find him. A month of trying to keep the family together and comfort his poor children who are falling apart at the seams. (Donnie doesnt sleep much anymore, trying so incredibly hard to get the portal working, even moreso than Ghost. Mikey teetering on the verge of a breakdown, going out with April and Casey to search for any signs of Leo every single night. Raph is consumed with guilt, it had been HIS fault that this whole mess happened, and now the poor boy is trying desperately to help his family while also trying to defect from the Footclan, which isnt easy.) A month of searching for the people that took Leo away, a month of hoping and praying that Leo was alright.

And then Leo comes home, with a white samurai rabbit in tow (Despite everything, Ghost finds it a little amusing that some things never change, even across dimensions)

He's different now. Quieter, not nearly as excited as he used to be. His arms and legs are completely wrapped up in black wrappings, up to the shoulder and upper thighs respectively. And he refuses to take the wrappings off. (He now has a slight limp on his right side, his brothers dont notice it but Ghost absolutely does.) And most importantly he refuses to talk about what happened when they were separated. Always saying "Its nothing." "I dont wanna talk about it." "There's nothing to talk about." "I'm fine."

Ghost is worried about him, obviously something happened. Something bad enough to turn the silly, dorky, hero-wannabe kid into this quiet, reclusive, guarded boy. Usagi knows as well but just says its not his story to tell.

Ghost tries to talk to him but every time he gets brushed off. (He did manage to figure out it somehow involved the Battle Nexus, from the tiny bits of information Leo shared. Though he highly doubts it was the same Battle Nexus he used to know) All he can do is provide comfort whenever Leo seeks him out, usually late at night and usually the result of a nightmare. (Which have become much much more frequent, only adding to Ghost's worry)

And unfortunately Leo is not the only one going through hell.

Because not long after Leo's return and Raph finally leaving the Footclan, Mikey gets captured. It would be bad enough if it was Shredder or the Krang. But it is so much worse and makes Ghost's blood run cold.

Mikey was captured by the EPF.

Ghost vividly remembers how a similar situation happened to him and his own Michelangelo. (How Mikey was almost dissected in front of him, how his own mid was torn apart for all the world to see. Bishop...)

The family hurriedly breaking into the EPF lab, hoping that they'll find Mikey in time.

They didnt.

Mikey wasnt as lucky as Ghost's Michelangelo.

Bishop, that sick twisted bitch, actually cut Mikey open.

Ghost's worst fear had been realized.

(Ghost never wants to see Mikey's bloody plastron and exposed ribcage ever again for as long as he lives. Watching his frantic heart gradually slow the more blood gushed out.)

And it only gets worse

Because Mikey, in a desperate last ditch effort to try and escape, he somehow activated a part of the curse that no one knew they had.

The ability to transform.

He had turned into a massive DRAGON made entirely of shadows (the only reason they knew it was him was because of the bright orange markings on the shadow dragon's body.)

And the dragon went on a rampage, obliterating the EPF lab including majority of the staff. (Unfortunately Bishop survived, which was a shame) and once the lab was destroyed it attacked New York, trying to tear everything apart in blind fear and panic. (Those terrified screeches will haunt Ghost for the rest of his life.)

It nearly killed them all trying to calm Mikey back down enough to get him home and stitched up. (And then clinging to Ghost like a scared koala for a very long time, not like Ghost can blame him.) And the worst part of this whole Dragon affair? Mikey cant CONTROL IT.

So that means the second his emotions get out of control, here comes the terrified dragon that will lash out at anyone perceived as a threat. (Which is anything that moves.)

And each time Mikey is beating himself up with immense guilt and fear that he will hurt the people he loves.

This is only the tip of the Solar Flare trauma train.

There will be more. (Raph and Donnie are gonna get their's too. So will April, Casey, and Splinter)

Other traumatic/weird events include:

Donnie getting kidnapped by Karai, which leads to April and their parents getting kidnapped. Which leads to April getting thrown off a building and Karai losing her entire arm. April is only 13 in this au btw so oh boy Karai better fucking run because once GHOST hears about that she might lose more than an arm.

Leo gets turned into a cat

Raph and Mikey get kidnapped by clowns

The boys get captured by an alien bounty hunter and taken to a completely different galaxy. Poor Ghost is gonna have an absolute heart attack.

The boys bring home a giant sea monster and keep it as a pet in the sewers. (They name it Jeffrey. Ghost left them alone for five minutes HOW DID THEY DO THIS?!?!)

Both RAPH AND LEO get thrown through the window in the Krang invasion. And Raph ends up in a coma (Leo already had his turn in a coma) Ghost having an absolute heart attack reliving this awful moment TWICE.

April's parents find out about the turtles (and later their paternal grandparents find out when the fam go to stay at their farmhouse)

The turtles are gonna be stuck in a timeloop for an entire month. (The entire month leading up to the Krang Invasion. They went from having a month to prevent it to only having a day and a half. Which is why the invasion happens.) Ghost will never forget that look of pure dread on his kids's faces when they looked up at the blood red sky filled with krangships. This is exactly what he didnt want to happen, his kids having to grow up too fast and get into problems far too big for them.

Also bonus: the turtles first meet Casey by literally RUNNING HIM OVER. The kids call Ghost frantically saying that they "accidently murdered someone what do we do?"

yes yes yes ABSOLUTELY . i love these three

as a note i have 2 aus that involve them !! monk is only just barely considered an adult in slugcat years when they leave their family after survivor, their older sibling. theyre also the runt of the litter. they also have the same ascension powers as saint, but those only show up after the events of their campaign (slugtree ending, ofc) 👍 survivor is. actually dead in my main au for them. their campaign still takes place, but they die after making it to the slugtree. im not going into why tho bcz im still mildly nervous talking abt my au stuff on here HSHS as for my other au, the two of them live with gourmand, arti, and hunter at the slugtree!! gourmand adopted them when they made it to the tree and found their parents gone, and so when gourmand, hunter, and arti got together the two of them basically became their kids too. they actually have two siblings, who hunter and arti had.

and for hunter hcs, these are all for the au w/ arti and gourm. hunter gets cured of their rot !! the majority of it ended up concentrated into their arm, and at some point spears shows up to inform hunter that sig wants to attempt to cure it after getting reports from one of his overseers that hunter was living in outer expanse and literally has 4 kids and is still dying . they get a prosthetic arm !! i personally think that hunter having the rot was an accident, but sig just didnt have time to give it a second go and make another slugcat since he wanted to get moon back up asap. i think the most common appearance of the rot is probably a disease in purposed organisms, moreso than it being directly Iterator Cancer. anyways i dont know how to end this i apologise for the rambling and also the fact that this is more au plot than headcanons GHDBGHJDA

unpopular opinion, but WWX was disappointing in Episode 14 of the Untamed

reasons why? it’s all about after that beautiful music video montage, in the aftermath of his rescue...

he doesn’t so much as thank JC, and immediately goes “here you are at last”. this may seem small, but like. how hard is it to say thanks? he says “it’s been many days since you escaped.” which sounds a lot like since you escaped.

goes straight to asking about LWJ, which i mean... ok, hes in love (LOL) and we get that, but... it might be the fault of the fact that we don’t see any evidence of their (JZX and JC) struggles (i.e. they still look pretty), but he just ignores that they’ve been through a lot too? how hard is it to say “are u ok, bro?”

like, it’s not unreasonable or bratty for JC to ask, “you dont thank me first?” because it’s basic courtesy, even if you don’t mean it, to thank someone for coming back to rescue your ass (i would think)

(gotta take a quick aside to say, i love the fact JC and JZX got along enough to work together... like despite JC not liking him, he’s being very decent and stuff, and yah... manners are good)

imma ignore all the fuckery about the Wens and this attack mode theyve decided on, because thats a whole other kettle of fish

so he wakes up after collapsing and the siblings are all sweet, but then JFM (the bastard) comes in, and... theres all that shit he does with ignoring his other two children and hyper-focusing on WWX (he’s injured, but we all know it’s not because of that)... and WWX doesnt do anything about it? imma break this down further

JFM completely ignores JC. doesnt so much as look at him. says “you suffered a lot this time” to WWX. when WWX says “JC suffered a lot saving me” thats one point in his favour. One. Point.

JFM does his own fuckery by saying “Well done” but doesnt even say it to anyone in particular. WWX isnt dumb. he should know JC needs at least one bit of validation, but does he get that? nope

WWX does that little chin jerk as if to go “see, i stuck up for u” and it’s like minimal effort there, pal. wow. thanku so much. and JC goes and congratulates him, and then WWX says if u were there u couldve had some credit too (and he’s not saying it in a smug way, but like... come on dude, u know ur bro wants that credit desperately)

then im not even gonna go into the detail of JFM scolding JC for saying that stuff, like... everyone knows that bit. what i want to point out is that WWX says nothing throughout all of this. lots of people say that he has to behave well because he’s technically not a family member (servant), but whilst that may be true with Madame Yu, this was the part where she wasnt even there yet?? and its clear that JFM favours him and likes when he speaks his mind, so why couldnt he step up for his little bro instead of letting him be talked to like that???

“Uncle Jiang. It’s alright. He’s just angry and speaking without care.” is like the worst damn thing he couldve said, goddamnit. it just highlights JC’s bad characteristics (which im not denying he has), and martyring himself. would it have been so difficult to say “Uncle Jiang. that’s just the way JC shows concern for his loved ones (and you’d know that if u paid any attention to him at all whatsoever)”

so im not gonna criticise WWX for staying quiet when Madame Yu walks in because thats basic survival instinct. if he speaks then, he’s toast XD and i understand that. it’s afterwards, when he’s comforting JC (or trying to) where he says that JFM is only strict with JC because hes his heir, yadda yadda... im like, does that excuse him blatantly being uncaring to him? why does WWX feel the need to justify that behaviour? all its doing is telling JC that what he gets (which is strictness) is what he gets, and comfort, love, affection etc are not what he deserves from his own father

I’m the son of someone else.” aiyah man, how does that feature? he was the son of someone else, but it’s obvious since he walked into Lotus Pier that he’s now considered JFM’s son too, at least in the way he treats him!! it’s no excuse to say that, really! ahhhh im so annoyed. and it’s this that leads me to my main point, which is...

as i’ve said before, lots of people would argue that WWX lacks the ability to speak up for JC, or really do anything here, but lemme say why i think that isn’t quite true. in terms of favour, seniority, talent, potential etc etc, it’s obvious that WWX wins. he’s absolutely JFM’s favourite child, there is no question about that. if he spoke his mind and disrespected JFM, the likelihood is that he wouldnt get kicked out even after that!

like, JFM and YZY would have a massive blow out, but can you imagine JFM allowing WWX to be thrown onto the streets?? i cant. it’s more likely JC would be thrown out than WWX...

Q1: IF YOU COULD WRITE YOUR CHARACTER YOUR WAY IN THEIR OWN MOVIE, WHAT WOULD IT BE CALLED, WHAT STYLE WOULD IT BE FILMED IN, AND WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?:

If it were up to me, the movie would be emulating a war movie in style, with muted and often cold colors and much darker themes and tones. Occasionally there’d be bursts of color or uplifting scenes to remind everyone that people are still human and contrast all the darker stuff, so a balance between the two. 

That’d be the most important part of it for me personally. Many references to all sorts of symbolism, though not too heavy-handed with it, allegories, metaphors, etc. To explore the spectrum of the ...for lack of better term, human condition.

Q2: WHAT WOULD THEIR SOUNDTRACK / SCORE SOUND LIKE?:

Completely orchestrated, done in a romantic style so that, in case someone weren’t watching the movie itself, they could simply listen to the music and imagine their own scene to it as the composition of said songs would ...in a perfect world, be very specifically tailored to fit certain sequences of emotion and whatnot.

And of course some violin/piano duet pieces sprinkled here and there.

Q3: WHY DID YOU START WRITING THIS CHARACTER?:

Ves is just one version of an old OC I’ve had for a long, long time. Maybe eight or so years. Give or take. He’s got several different iterations thus far.

Q4: WHAT FIRST ATTRACTED YOU TO THIS CHARACTER?:

My love for war movies and such to be honest. Along with my insane fascination and interest in historical narratives and European warfare and the like. Typically, Ves’ character is usually pulling all sorts of things from WW1 from fashion to mannerisms, and his whole world is constructed to emulate that as well (though, not set on Earth.) Not the FFXIV version of course because Ishgard is there, but other versions of him such as WS and his original counterpart.

Q5: DESCRIBE THE BIGGEST THING YOU DISLIKE ABOUT YOUR MUSE:

If I had to pick the largest thing I have against him (and I mean this character in general, not specifically FFXIV,) it’s the need for historical accuracy in most cases. I’m a die-hard for things like that and spend a lot of time doing research (usually just for fun but I get carried away easily.) Considering reference material isn’t always the easiest to find for really specific things from a time period that old, it becomes frustrating VERY quickly when I don’t feel I’m portraying him ‘authentically’ enough.

Elsewise, as far as his personality goes, he’s just like any dad. The need to always be right drives me absolutely insane. The good thing about him though is that he’s fictional and I can make him change and grow and learn. >:) Now that’s what I call sexy.

Q6: WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN COMMON WITH YOUR MUSE?:

We both love to eat and eat way too much too often and yet are like twigs. And we’re too particular about certain things.

I dunno, your characters technically are just facets of you.

He’d be extremely annoyed but I don’t think he’d do anything about it. I am but a CHILDE.

Q8: WHAT CHARACTERS DOES YOUR MUSE HAVE INTERESTING INTERACTIONS WITH?

Thus far? There’s Lowrey who won’t leave him alone and is always trying to wrangle Ves in like a bucking horse, and they’re VERY entertaining to watch with their weird and aggressive banter (on Ves’ part anyway, he can’t stand the guy. Lowrey just rolls with the punches with a big grin and keeps on pushing. Ves is gonna clobber him one of these days for real this time. For REAL this time.)

And then there’s Ves and Caudecus’ very polarizing and almost jarring but still extremely funny interactions with one another. They’re roommates right now so, typical roommate shenanigans, laugh track plays here. There’s something sinister hidden underneath it all and I think Caud may just get a laugh out of stabbing Ves verbally, which is also something I enjoy laying witness to.

And of course, Mei and Ves. He has NO idea who she is, he just kind of met her out there in the wilderness I suspect and thought she was weird, but she’s very fun and loves to go exploring and flying too and that’s something he can relate to. Plus Mei displays a very clear sense of justice and that is something he appreciates VERY much. She’s just whacky and weird and a mystery but he likes it and doesn’t know why. It’s probably all the pink.

Q9: WHAT GIVES YOU INSPIRATION TO WRITE YOUR MUSE?:

Anime stuff probably, war stuff. I dunno, depends on my mood for the day. I don’t need inspiration, my characters are just on a roulette wheel. Which one do I feel like using today.

About an hour, but I had to constantly rephrase things that didn’t make sense.

Unfortunately this would require a good knowledge of Lena and I seem to have forgotten most of her character from when I was initially watching Supergirl. I guess her character, as much as I like her, wasnt nearly so interesting / impressive to my brain sorry. But then neither was anyone else since I'm hovering in that territory of I barely remember what I've watched and that says something considering I remember enough of SV to write Lex. Anyway. But to get on to some semblance of your question this would require such a retcon on Lex's backstory considering SG states that they grew up together in some way and the dysfunction of the family might actually be in some ways worse than the SV iteration... which is uh something else for sure. A good portion of Lex's personality stems from his pervasive feeling of loneliness and disconnect which I dont think would have occurred with Lena, as much as the shows would like to state. Reason being is how attached he was to Julian, and despite Lionel I think Lex would be more aggressive toward Lionel than he would to his sibling, unless of course said sibling really took on to Lionel's teachings. I guess there would be some resentment but would it be toward Lena? Idk. Please note I'm keeping Lilian out of this as the very fact that she is alive changes literslly everything. If I'm not wrong in certain comics where Lena is actually present shes one of the few people Lex gives a shit about. But also note I know this from like wiki and I read it 3727271 years ago so I could be misremembering. Anyway. Taking into all my canon, or even just SV canon, there could be something to say about Tess and Lex's supposed relationship that would work in this instance for Lena and Lex ...in some sense. It would have to be twisted and worked out and only then could I give a legitimate answer to this question.

Love and Marriage.

Lets talk marriage, you and I.

This is part of my ongoing attempt to wrap an aging country catholic brain around this brave new world we live and navigate in.

Lets figure this out.

Lets start with old marriage.

Pre tinder, pre contraception, pre industrialisation. pre social welfare.

So we posit a village, reasonable prosporous of say a 1000 people.

Some 100 quite well off, some 100 not so well off, the rest in the middle.

There will be kids, who will become teenagers, become interested in the opposite sex.

There will be the male dream of lots of sex with many different hot women, maybe some atavistic impulses to hit other monkeys with thigh bone.

There will be the womans dream of lots of sex with a high status man, who is ready to commit, and maybe more sex with even higher status men, commitment Love, babies, attention.

There will be sex.

There will be babies.(as a consequence of the sex)

Once pregnancy is confirmed, or once sexual activity is noted or suspected by the parents. they need to consider marrying the two people off.

If you dont have marriage, you have a lot of single mothers, and men denying they are the fathers, so dead babies,

Commitment, is then more important (survivalwise) for women than for men.

Males, will like the people they sleep with more than the ones they dont, although they may desire them more.

single mothers,

Poverty and singlemotherhood are a good recipe for undernourished children, prostitute or beggar mothers. The children of single parents, are more likely to have risky sex, be involved in crime and generally do less well, so you have a vicious circle here.

Lets introduce marriage.

Its a potentially bad deal for everyone.

But

Its a deal that delivers, the essentials.

Its more or less marriage, for raising babies together, man in charge of the world outside, woman in charge of the home, different arrangements for different people.

For the man, marriage, gives access to sex. In a small town with no contraception.

Otherwise sex is not so readily available, or its with less than ideal mates.

For the woman, it gives access to sex, and someone who will provide for her and the babies.

The man gains, an obedient wife, and children, the woman gains, a sexual partner, status, and the means to raise great children to continue the familial gathering of wealth, and increasing inequality.

Downsides, both people are locked into monogamy, and locked to each other,

The woman is subject to the man.

The man, has to provide for himself, his wife, and his children,

The woman is assumed to not be the main provider due to frequent pregnancies and general childrearing duties.

As people marry off, the remaining singles, would hasten to get in on this deal,

Going down by order of desirability.

Fertility for women, Status for men. (or proxies)

The above are merely the primary attributes

Its not great for the guy, he is programmed for sex with lots of people, more fertile the better.

He gets one.

Its not great for the woman, who will be drawn, to other more desirable men, but denied her loins/wombs secret desire, she will be subject to her man, and subject to society, for her adultery would damage every womans reputation by extension, cause every man to gain secret hope.

Her adultery is also a double blow, if she becomes pregnant, she has broken her vows, lied to her husband, and now asks he raise another mans child as his own. Not great.

For the man, well, if its with another mans wife, he hasnt made a friend.

But the pregnancy will be her problem, not his.

This deal, lets smart long term thinking families, reliably accrue wealth, while maintaining a safety net.

There are an interesting series of scenarios.

True love, no problems,

Woman dies in childbirth, man has children, but still status, remarriage is possible.

Man dies in war, or of injury, or of just dying before women in general.

Woman gains house, status as widow, and children.

Woman or man want out, this is very frowned on, the woman leaving her man, will get little, and possibly not the children.

Upsides is that generationally, if wealth defaults with the man not the woman, a family built by men, could continue to accumulate wealth and status over time, helped (and often succeeded by their) by their women.

Lets throw a jaded eye over new marriage.

I guess.

Marriage is no longer the gateway to sex.

(sex is only sometimes the gateway to marriage)

Sex is no longer a certain gateway to children

Children are not a gateway to marriage.

The optimal number of parents is not to be discussed.

Marriage, is dissolvable, by either partner, seperation is half the assets, and the man to continue his support( we have to think of the children.)

There is also a new player, the state.

The state provides money for mothers, and more money for single mothers.

Single mother hood, becomes viable.

Sex without marriage becomes viable, marriage as no longer a requirement for sex becomes devalued.

Sex, no longer fettered by marriage becomes devalued.

We can add in, the attention economy, where in the time of newspapers, there was a newspapers worth of information, books maybe.

Now there are more diversions, accessible, 24/7 catering to every single conceivable wish desire belief, desire or need.

Tinder exists.

Tinder is a killer app for marriage.

It only works for the top 20% of men, the most desired marriage material.

And

All women.

Suddenly, women can have all the sex, and babies, they desire.

With the most desirable men, (well sex certainly, babies depends also on the man)

But commitment, becomes much harder to acquire.

But much more lucrative.

Because marriage is dissolvable in favour of the woman.

She can have a man work for her support,

Then seperate, get half his belongings, and have him continue to work for her support.

This is a good deal, but raises the risk factor for high status men, (their family could lose half its accumulated capital to some hussy golddigger)

She can then theoretically go back on tinder and continue playing the premarriage game, but this time supported by her former husband

The top 20% of men, can play for quite some time.

Some may chip out, ( I know one gentleman, of lucrative means who is paying 3 small fortunes a month to the 3 mothers of his children)

And I should hasten to add, quite rightly.

So then with that board set,

Optimum play for hot men.

Take the free sex, dont marry.

Optimum play for hot women, take the hot sex, try it out, then marry a high status man.

optimum play for less hot women, continue to use sex to get committment and then marriage.

Optimum play for less high status men, get higher status to the point of getting sex, then commit, marry if necessary.

(assuming the objective is to optimize sexual satisfaction, and material gains.)

Women want babies also though I presume (the human races existence strongly suggests this)

So the shortest iteration of the marriage equation.(sans love Im afraid)

2 party game.

Both parties want sex.

Just with different people.

Men, want, sex.

Women, want sex with men who can provide for them in the event of pregnancy,

Or who excite them sexually, or ideally, both.

In a scenario where women and children are valued, they would presumably prefer, the more sexually interesting option, when sex is of most interest to them.

Anyway back to sex.

The women want it with the best.(makes sense to me)

Women being the gatekeepers of sex, women the flame, men the moth so to speak.

If you want to test this, create 2 tinder profiles, one for each gender, of equal attractiveness, and guage the response rates.

Marriage, is and always will be a viable play for high status males, as long as the woman and her family are playing the same game.

The marry, grow the family, accumulate game.

If not as long as the woman

And low status males, as sex is more important than material goods, and a hot girlfriend confers status, ( as does a hot successful boyfriend) (less than a husband)

High status males will do fine, low status males will do less well.

Status being a proxy for the ability to support a wife and child.

Female hotness, is I presume primarily a product of fertility and fitness, and pleasantness, someone who is easy to get along with, and who can replace a mothers love.. (maybe)

Social group is a proxy for support network.

Intelligence works for both groups, mainly as it allows them to correctly analyze the game being played and the optimum play.

Womens and mens intelligences work differently, so different strategies work for both.

On an unrelated note.

Men will always pay for women, on a related note, and we are fine with that we love women, were born of one, raised by one, have siblings nieces, children, loved ones, crushes friends of that gender.

(this is a factual, I think, rather than or albeit, a sexist comment)

In marriage, the man will work more than the woman, because babies.

Pregnancy, and periods. Absent social welfare, this puts the payer, and the payee together.

In modern times, taxes from both genders pay for child support, men still support their women, but also, through their taxes, other women, they support their children and others, this deal is worse for single sexless men, who pay for other mens children,and women, and dont even get laid.

(this argument can be used for all social welfare payments)

If the fair approach of single men and married men, and childless women not being asked to pay for the sins of others. There would be ignorant, angry children, prostitute parents, and street crime.

Well, more of them, I suppose.

Men and women play a game with each other and against each other, with advantages and disadvantages in different areas, historically as now, we work together, for the children and the family.

With changing times will come changing ideas, that will be tested, and kept or discarded depending on their utility.
